They just want you to get as you're getting in line Dude in front of me bought like two packs of yugioh cards and I was like, what a dork And then I looked over all due respect to yugioh, but yeah You're a fucking dork.

00:01:45

the_popcorn_podcast
Me or just acquiring Taiwan Walker stuff right now.
00:01:59
Ryan
And of course, I know it's it's horrible. The very first card I opened to was Craig Kimbrough. And I was very upset.
00:02:05
the_popcorn_podcast
Well.
00:02:06
Ryan
ah i had a I had a like pile, don't care pile, and a shit pile.
00:02:07
the_popcorn_podcast
Well.
00:02:13
Ryan
A shit pile was pretty big by the end of it. I got a lot of braves for some reason. I was very upset.
00:02:18
the_popcorn_podcast
Well, that that sounds like a good couple of days. Um, Hmm.
00:02:22
Ryan
I also got a holographic Spencer Strider card. We can burn that next time we do a fire pit or something.
00:02:28
the_popcorn_podcast
It's not worth anything.

Initial Thoughts on 'The Boys' Season 4

00:02:32
Ryan
Honestly, I don't know where it went. I may have burned it already. I've lost it. It's kind of cool looking. The one I like, they have this like retro Luis Castillo card. It's pretty cool.
00:02:44
the_popcorn_podcast
Hmm. I like that.
00:02:46
Ryan
I like that one. Yeah.
00:02:51
the_popcorn_podcast
But yeah, big baseball card guy now.
00:02:53
Ryan
That's true.
00:02:57
the_popcorn_podcast
and the
00:02:57
Ryan
Pretty nice. What?
00:03:02
the_popcorn_podcast

00:03:10
the_popcorn_podcast
No.
00:03:16
Ryan
We're gonna talk about the boys and Some really really cool stuff really creative things that I Don't think anybody would ever find offensive or disgusting It's a very it's a very like neutral, you know, everybody can enjoy its type of show and
00:03:24
the_popcorn_podcast

00:03:44
the_popcorn_podcast
I want to quickly run through the news that we've gotten, we've gotten recently, and it's just a few things, but I just want to do a quick, quick, quick rundown.

00:04:23
the_popcorn_podcast
I don't listen to my own eyes, but now let me talk because I won't hear you talking um inside out to is the second highest cursing film of 2024 right behind Dune.
00:04:26
Ryan
Mm-hmm. Yeah, go for it.
00:04:36
the_popcorn_podcast
ah What then? The next thing take what TD shares details about his time band is TV show. Didn't really listen to him because I don't care what take it has to say. ah After that, we got our first trailer for Robert Eggers, his new film, Nosferatu, starring Lily Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe. Nicholas Holt, and of course, Bill Skarsgard, because of course, a weird monster has to be played by Bill Skarsgard. And I thought it looked really cool. It's probably my second most anticipated movie of the year now. I've been waiting to see a trailer of this. I don't know if, Ryan, you watched it or if you're excited about it.
00:05:06
Ryan
I agree. I did look awesome.
00:05:09
the_popcorn_podcast
Good.
00:05:09
Ryan
I like Robert Eggers No, he hasn't Yeah, that's it just three
00:05:11
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, because I mean, the the man doesn't miss so far, in my opinion. What do you got? The Northman, Lighthouse, The Witch. I think that might be it. Yeah. um Freaky Friday 2 has officially went into production, with Jamie Lee curse and Lindsay Lohan both coming back, which I'm very excited about. Very underrated film. Everyone should go watch Freaky Friday 2. Big news, Ryan, I got big news for you right here.
00:05:38
Ryan
How big?
00:05:38
the_popcorn_podcast
There's a donkey spin-off movie in the works, and Shrek 5 is in the works as well.
00:05:41
Ryan
It's pretty fucking big.
00:05:44
the_popcorn_podcast
That that is big news, that's what I want.
00:05:45
Ryan
Hell yeah, baby.
00:05:46
Ryan
We gotta do it. We should do a Shrek rewatch.
00:05:49
the_popcorn_podcast
I do a Shrek rewatch.
00:05:50
Ryan
Let's do it. This is gonna be fun.
00:05:51
the_popcorn_podcast
ah Nobody, too, will release in theaters on ah August 15th of 2025. I didn't even know that they officially greenlit.
00:05:59
Ryan
I had no idea.
00:06:02
the_popcorn_podcast
And yeah, that was really all of my. Yeah.
00:06:05
Ryan
That's it?
00:06:05
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh,

Detailed Episode Discussion of 'The Boys'

00:06:06
Ryan
Oh, look at your new phone. Look at that.
00:06:06
the_popcorn_podcast
you know.
00:06:07
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh, yeah, I got a new phone today, finally.
00:06:09
Ryan
that did you get a case yet yeah yeah
00:06:11
the_popcorn_podcast
No, I ordered my my dad like put it in for Amazon for me. He put in an Otterbox wallet, not a phone case. So I got I got a wallet out of it, but now I don't have a phone case.
00:06:19
Ryan
well that's nice that's gotta to be nerve-wracking for you yeah I'm amazed you haven't broken yet
00:06:24
the_popcorn_podcast
Terrifying, absolutely terrifying. But it's kind I was kind of getting a little like was getting a little sentimental when I was moving all my like info over to my new phone. So when I got this phone, I was 15 years old.
00:06:38
Ryan
yeah
00:06:39
the_popcorn_podcast
It's went through my entire army career.
00:06:41
Ryan
It's one through everything, everything in life.
00:06:41
the_popcorn_podcast
and
00:06:46
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah. Most so it was a little sentimental taking everything off. But at the same time, I got this new phone to actually work the entire screen. I was like, yeah, fuck all that nostalgia bullshit. and I like having a new phone.
00:06:57
Ryan
Yeah. Just don't go near any Humvees with this one.
00:06:57
the_popcorn_podcast
But yeah.
00:07:00
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh, my God, it was two in the morning, OK?
00:07:01
Ryan
ah be I'm sure did.
00:07:03
the_popcorn_podcast
I think I talked about it before, but moving on.
00:07:06
Ryan
You have to be one of like 10 people in history to run over your cell phone with a fucking Humvee.
00:07:12
the_popcorn_podcast
Probably it can't be a high number.
00:07:13
Ryan
it's It can't be a high number. You gotta be a special kind of fucking dumb to let that happen.
00:07:20
the_popcorn_podcast
It wasn't dumb. I was tired. I hadn't slept in two days. Now, moving on from Ryan calling me a jet pretty much stupid, we're going to be jumping right into Amazon's The Boys. And this is season four, which, of course, there are four episodes out so far.
00:07:38
the_popcorn_podcast
And my quicks.
00:07:39
Ryan
Jesus, dude.
00:07:40
the_popcorn_podcast
What was that?
00:07:41
Ryan
You gotta stop drinking the burp water before you do this shit. It's unbelievable.
00:07:44
the_popcorn_podcast
I know, dude, I really do.
00:07:45
Ryan
It's every time.
00:07:47
the_popcorn_podcast
But let me talk about the boys. um So just my quick original, like first off, whatever. First thoughts on season four of The Boys is that I am not crazy about it so far. I think some of the writing hasn't been as strong, hasn't been as sharp as it was in the previous three seasons. I think some of the character decisions are kind of weird to me. And I know people are like, oh, it's probably French. I don't care if French is bisexual. Do whatever you want with Frenchie. It's more his like emotional state.
00:08:19
the_popcorn_podcast
um But yeah, I'm not not really loving the characters so far. New characters are fine. But I will say episode four was my favorite of the season, but only because of one character storyline throughout the episode.
00:08:36
Ryan
Yeah, I agree.
00:08:37
the_popcorn_podcast
And I don't really know if I care so far about where things are going.
00:08:40
Ryan
Mm hmm.
00:08:42
the_popcorn_podcast
That's just my this is my basic thoughts. What about you?
00:08:45
Ryan
Yeah, no, I agree for the most part. I think it has definitely been weaker than some of the rest than all of the rest of the season. So I think it's just been a great show so far. I think season three season three is probably the most fun until the end because I talked about it on here. I thought the end of season three was just kind of lackluster. Like the episode was just a little short. Um, not that I hated what happened. I liked what happened, but it was just kind of like, yeah. All right. And that happened. That's cool. Um, this whole season has kind of felt like that. Are you kidding me?
00:09:16
the_popcorn_podcast
It was an alarm.
00:09:18
Ryan
Anyways, this whole season has kind of felt like that lackluster finale of season three so far. Like it's, it's kind of just, you're waiting for a really big thing to happen and it's just either not happening or not being nearly as cool as you thought it was going to be. And I'm not the kind of guy who like. gets my expectations up and then when they're not met i take it out on the show i think that she but i just feel like there's been a lot of missed opportunities to do some really cool stuff side this this season's been a little disappointing in pretty much all facets i think you'll like you were saying about french in particular just i don't give a shit who is banging he's just kind of been a little boring this season and i think every characters been like that like there's nobody this season who i'm really interested in their storyline
00:10:03
Ryan
except for butcher but not because of like his character just because i want to know what that worm is and like what's going on i i just have no idea um homelander is kind of just doing the same thing but honestly not as crazy at this point You know, fourth episode was pretty nuts, but like we've, we've seen that before. it It didn't, at this point in the show, it didn't feel like anything special,

Character Highlights and Concerns

00:10:25
Ryan
you know?
00:10:25
the_popcorn_podcast
Mm
00:10:26
Ryan
So I'm kind of just waiting for this season to hopefully pick up a little bit more. And I don't need it to like, just go more in the insane direction that the show always goes. Like that's, I don't need that to happen for this to be a good show. I just need something more from the characters. I need them to be.
00:10:45
the_popcorn_podcast
hmm.
00:10:46
Ryan
I don't know. I think they just gotta to like give them more to do because right now they're kind of just going in circles and not getting anything done. It's just kind of boring to watch at the moment. So hopefully it picks up more and hopefully it leads well into season five, which will be the final season.
00:11:04
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah. um And I don't I don't know how they're gonna fix like the things I have problems with, like where the characters are going and what's happening so far. Because I mean, they only have four episodes to do that, or at least four episodes to set up how it's all going to get fixed in one last season.
00:11:20
Ryan
yeah
00:11:20
the_popcorn_podcast
But yeah, I think just And I was kind of interested, like in the first episode I was, I did like the whole making fun of Democrats, Republicans, flipping sides, all that stuff in the beginning.
00:11:31
Ryan
Yeah.
00:11:34
the_popcorn_podcast
But then that was fixed so quickly.
00:11:38
Ryan
Yeah, it's.
00:11:38
the_popcorn_podcast
Like I thought the entire season was going to have to do with like the riots and all that kind of stuff, which it just didn't.
00:11:41
Ryan
Mm hmm.
00:11:45
Ryan
Yeah, it didn't.
00:11:45
the_popcorn_podcast
And I was kind of, oh, I'm sorry.
00:11:46
Ryan
No, you finished.
00:11:48
the_popcorn_podcast
I, and I think that kind of follows through all the way to the final episode where I thought maybe something bigger was going to happen with the whole Starlight situation in the fourth episode. Not going to say specifically with people who haven't watched yet, but what happens with her in season in the fourth episode should be such a huge deal. And I get, they're saying it's a big deal with social media, but I feel like there should have a bigger outcome than what we're getting pretty much shown.
00:12:12
Ryan
Yeah, I agree. I think like you were saying, we're like all the riots and stuff. I thought the Homelander um trial was going to be maybe not the whole season, but at least like four, maybe five episodes. It's just, it's not, it gets done and what does it get done? Does it finish in like the second episode or is it even the first episode?
00:12:28
the_popcorn_podcast
I think it's the beginning of the second one, isn't it?
00:12:30
Ryan
Yeah, like it's it's it's kind of like a minor point of the season so far. I mean, obviously they've mentioned it, and like it's it had it had influence on what's happened since the trial. But like with how explosive that finale was last season, like the you know the real final scene, you just kind of expected more from it. I thought there was going to be more from the trial and more you know um What do you call it? More coming from that. um More fallout from that trial and everything that happened.
00:13:02
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh, like they're more of a fallout with what happens.
00:13:04
Ryan
Yeah, but like obviously, you know the homelander people the you know the Republicans in this case, because it's it's pretty they've never shied away from who they're making fun of. um
00:13:17
Ryan
Nothing's really been done. Like they kind of just he talk shit and do that riot. And there's a fight in that that was, I guess it's the second episode. And then they you just drop it and they don't really talk about it again. Like it's, I just expected more. I don't know. It's just been kind of lackluster.
00:13:31
the_popcorn_podcast
But yeah, no, I definitely agree with the whole thing and
00:13:37
the_popcorn_podcast
I got to the end of the first three because the first three all come out once and I just wasn't like last season three season two season one after at the end of each season I was so excited for the rest for the following season after the premiere episode I was like oh these next seven episodes like I'm so i'm so so so excited for it but I just didn't feel that way even though I did love the beginning of the episode during election night I loved seeing a
00:13:42
Ryan
Hmm.
00:13:58
Ryan
Yeah.
00:14:04
the_popcorn_podcast
Victoria Newman, who I think might be one of my favorite characters in the show. I just like her character.
00:14:10
the_popcorn_podcast
Not she's a bad person, I understand it. But I know I love when her and Homelire have that conversation together where he's pretty much telling her that like they're going to make that he's going to make this work, like that they're going to work, be like Buddy Buddy in front of the cameras and stuff, even though that he was going through this whole trial for killing someone. And but after that, I feel like the episode kind of lost.
00:14:10
Ryan
Yeah.
00:14:30
Ryan
Yeah.
00:14:34
the_popcorn_podcast
Like I felt like that was a great starting point. It kind of went off track, I guess. Kind of started losing me. and it was It didn't peak my interest as much as every other episode of every other season did.
00:14:45
Ryan
Yeah, yeah, I agree. I think with Newman, i but she's really only in the first episode. like is it And again, I mean, you can tell I watched the first three episodes in a row two weeks ago. So I kind of, you know, I'm blanking on a lot of this stuff, but, um, I, she hasn't done that much this season so far and she's definitely going to have a bigger role to play because you have all the stuff with singer and what he was trying to do with her. I think that's a really interesting thing with, with his, his goal, um, in the shadows. But like you said, Newman is one of the best characters in the show and she at times is even scarier than Homelander just because of her powers. Like that you literally are never, ever safe. It's terrifying.
00:15:30
Ryan
um So I really, I can't wait to see what they do with her, but I just hope they do something important with her and soon because you have four episodes left and I don't want to see this show do three more mediocre episodes and try to pack some crazy shit into the eighth episode to lead into the last season. I got just, I don't know. It'll just be shitty and not give, not making you very excited for season five.
00:15:56
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, and especially when we know because the creator came out and said that season one of Gen V land in season two lead led into season four of the boys.

Speculations and Theories

00:16:04
the_popcorn_podcast
But we've only what we've seen them one time. And it's just a quick shot on the screen of like the group of them.
00:16:10
Ryan
Well, there is a theory we've seen one of them a bunch, but I don't really believe it, but I thought it was kind of interesting.
00:16:17
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh.
00:16:19
Ryan
Yeah. I mean, we can, I can say it.
00:16:23
the_popcorn_podcast
I don't want to say what if it's true, though? and do Oh no, it's a theory, it's not true.
00:16:26
Ryan
Yeah. I mean, we'll talk about it in sport. Yeah. It's a theory.
00:16:29
the_popcorn_podcast
You can say it then, it's a theory.
00:16:29
Ryan
game um People are saying what was the the crazy guy in Gen V the one who broke out and was just killing puppets What was his name again?
00:16:37
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh, I don't know, you think that's- is that who you think Black Noir is?
00:16:39
Ryan
Alex People have been saying like maybe that's him because he was you know homeless they Took him in because he was one of the one of the good ones quote-unquote. So people have been saying maybe that's him but at the same time Like he's crazy I just can't see him like, yeah he probably has similar powers as Black Noir, because Black Noir was just strong and agile, and that's what his powers seem to be. So, you know, they they could play it like that, but just the way his voice sounds doesn't sound like it, and the way he's acting.
00:17:05
the_popcorn_podcast
Hmm.
00:17:12
Ryan
He said if, you know, this noir's only had a couple lines, but he still isn't talking like that. He doesn't sound crazy, he sounds more, you know, Um, well, what do you call it?
00:17:24
the_popcorn_podcast
Proper.
00:17:24
Ryan
Developed? Yeah, proper. I mean, he still sounds like a fucking moron, but he sounds like a not deranged lunatic, schizophrenic, whatever he was.
00:17:32
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah.
00:17:34
Ryan
So I don't know.
00:17:35
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah,
00:17:35
Ryan
I, I don't really believe in that theory, but I think it's pretty interesting because just in case, if it is, it's, it's kind of cool. Um,
00:17:41
the_popcorn_podcast
yeah I really I really thought they were gonna go with like the whole comic book of Who black noir becomes but doesn't seem like they're going that way I'm but in knowing they're not going that way unless it happens maybe in the fifth season which would kind of make sense to end it that way but
00:17:50
Ryan
well,
00:17:58
the_popcorn_podcast
I've really hoped that the dudes playing black nor has no powers or nothing I hope he's just like an actor that they just hired I Mean anyone can do that he They take more than one I Thought someone had to hit him a couple times
00:17:59
Ryan
I mean. Well, he he definitely has some powers because the the one scene he does something definitely has some strength. Not that efficiently, he took one crack and he was gone.
00:18:26
Ryan
I mean,
00:18:28
Ryan
I mean, he definitely hit him a few times in the ground, but that dude was done after one hit. You know what I mean? Like there was a fucking crater, you know?
00:18:33
the_popcorn_podcast
That is true. that was that scene That scene, I will say, caught me off guard when I was watching. I was not expecting, and I looked down for one second to read a text, and I looked out, and all I heard was the bat hail.
00:18:38
Ryan
Yeah.
00:18:42
Ryan
Yeah.
00:18:43
the_popcorn_podcast
I was like, what the hell was that?
00:18:44
Ryan
yeah That was that was that was a good standout scene for me so far because that like you were saying like I I Expected it to be another game like, you know the deep and a train probably expected it to and then he was like, no No, this is real this time.
00:18:45
the_popcorn_podcast
but
00:18:58
Ryan
Oh shit Yeah, that was fun Yeah Right
00:18:58
the_popcorn_podcast
i I liked when he told the deep to blow a train. That, because that just shows you like, that's what makes Homelander so scary. It's, he doesn't even have to physically do anything. He can just talk in this way. He's, everyone knows how strong he is and that's all it takes. And I think in another standout scene to me was we talked about it on, we texted about it earlier. I, the score seemed to me stuck out.
00:19:21
Ryan
correct
00:19:22
the_popcorn_podcast
It's it's so uncomfortable.
00:19:22
Ryan
yeah It was uncomfortable Yeah,
00:19:25
the_popcorn_podcast
I just liked that whole episode with, I just like Homelander's scenes down there because he's just
00:19:30
Ryan
the homelander stuff was cool Yeah, but I also at the same time like it feels so inconsequential like he did all that shit and
00:19:32
the_popcorn_podcast
That's all I care for so far though. I just like seeing Homelander. He's evil. It's cool.
00:19:43
Ryan
Like if if he had done that in season one, it would have been leading into like, oh man, he's getting really unhinged and deranged. But we're on season four now. We know he does that shit and we've never met any of these characters. They don't mean anything to us. Like it was kind of, it was, you know, I won't say fun to watch because that's not the right thing to say. Damn. Um, but it it felt like, okay, we just spent an episode watching Homelander do shit we know he likes to do and he's done before. Like it. It just felt inconsequential and like a waste of time.
00:20:15
Ryan
So I don't know. Maybe maybe the lady he let live comes back and is important, but I just don't really see it happening. So I don't know.
00:20:22
the_popcorn_podcast
Well, no, she is she is important that was like his like head doctor when he was a kid I Would like to I would like for maybe her to like know some things like more weaknesses of his I
00:20:26
Ryan
Yeah, i I know she's important to him, but will she be important to the show? I don't know.
00:20:36
Ryan
Yeah.
00:20:36
the_popcorn_podcast
Maybe go to help the boys, but I think Out of the boys so far. I really don't care for any of their storylines yet Except maybe Huey I do like I do feel bad for Huey with his dad and of course how they leave it with his dad at the end I'm I was kind of I am excited for that but I
00:20:50
Ryan
so poem um I'm excited, but in like a goofy kind of shitty way because if Simon Pegg just comes in like being crazy, I'm gonna be like, what the hell is this? But if they do it in like a fun way, that's not, I mean, the whole show's over the top, but this is one thing that that that they could go like too far over the top, you know what I mean? To like goofy range. So that's that's my only worry about that.
00:21:15
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah.
00:21:17
Ryan
But if they can do it right, then ah I think it'd be pretty fun.
00:21:21
the_popcorn_podcast
I, I thought about it as like when Andrew Garfield, Spider-Man first gets his powers and he like rips the door or like squirts the toothpaste too hard all over like the sings. Like I thought about stuff like that.
00:21:33
Ryan
Yeah, that could happen.
00:21:33
the_popcorn_podcast
Maybe like something little. I don't need, I don't want him to like become like a superhero. Like don't do that.
00:21:38
Ryan
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, Yeah, it could.
00:21:39
the_popcorn_podcast
Or maybe it kills him and that's just what it does. And.
00:21:43
Ryan
I don't know. Or maybe he just, I don't know, shaves his head and just becomes like the comic. He just is the real Huey now.
00:21:52
the_popcorn_podcast
But yeah, I'm I'm I'm excited because I love Simon peggins gonna mean he's gonna get more screen time And I think he was a great choice to play. I mean Yeah, it's pretty perfect anyway Yeah, he's late in the comics But I I don't Okay
00:22:00
Ryan
Yeah. I mean, they had to get him in the show somehow. He's they based the comic character off of him. um Yeah. But like you were saying about everybody's stories, I'm going to cut you off there because I want to talk, bitch.
00:22:14
the_popcorn_podcast
um
00:22:15
Ryan
Yeah, Frenchie, we talked about like, OK, I don't care that he's banging a dude.
00:22:20
Ryan
The dude's not very interesting. So it's just not it's not enjoyable to watch. I think Kamiko storyline heard you know, getting back to her old people who were really her people. She wasn't big fans of them. But you know what I mean?
00:22:33
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, they they were not good people, Ryan.
00:22:35
Ryan
They were not good to her. I think that could be interesting. And especially the way they kind of leave it off with that one girl like that. That could that could lead to something. M.M. is just there trying to help his family. Well, he was kind of you failed at that. But I think M.M. is kind of like the guy until last season he never really had his own storyline he was just there being like the dad of the group and he's still kind of had at that status like mm is just the guy who doesn't really need his own storyline he's just like the most supporting supporting character in this show that it's kind of there
00:23:13
Ryan
And as much as I like to see him do more like I did last season with him and all this stuff with soldier boy Like it was it was really interesting and really well done But at the same time if he just stays in this role this season of just being like the dad and the leader of the group I'm fine with that because Las Alonso is great as his character. He's just so much fun to watch Every line he says is just like quotable and cool. That's it. He doesn't have to try very hard.
00:23:36
the_popcorn_podcast
No, he's super charismatic.
00:23:36
Ryan
So I
00:23:37
the_popcorn_podcast
And I agree. But we haven't seen him. He hasn't talked to his daughter yet, has he? About everything?
00:23:43
Ryan
No, he hasn't. So I mean, that that's gonna have to happen.
00:23:44
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, and that was- Because they said the next day he was going to do it.
00:23:47
Ryan
Because Yeah.
00:23:49
the_popcorn_podcast
This is definitely not the next day in season in episode four. It's definitely days later. I kind of thought that I was interested to see how that all goes down, especially once, especially if the daughter sees like, oh, Homelander supporters do this.
00:23:59
Ryan
Yeah.
00:24:04
the_popcorn_podcast
The Starlight supporters do this.
00:24:06
the_popcorn_podcast
And then she's like, oh, like your friends with her, maybe you did it.
00:24:06
Ryan
Yeah.
00:24:09
Ryan
Hmm.
00:24:09
the_popcorn_podcast
And it was something like that. like I just wanted to see something maybe interesting come of that. because That's a huge deal to to that white, to his ex-wife and his daughter that they're
00:24:16
Ryan
Yeah.
00:24:17
the_popcorn_podcast
husband, ex husband, stepfather.
00:24:19
Ryan
Yeah. Especially with the meeting that he had with, um, uh, fuck, I forget his wife's name. Ex-wife.
00:24:29
Ryan
Starts with a, uh, starts with a J or an M. I don't remember. But the meeting they had, like, where she asked him to go find him, that could have led to something cool. And obviously it it does lead to something really important. but Um, it will be interesting, like you said, to see him go talk to his daughter and, you know, have to explain what happened if, if that even happens.
00:24:50
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah.
00:24:50
Ryan
Um, and that'll, that'll lead to something cool because his wife explains that his daughter really liked the stepdad and the stepdad was obviously a huge homeowner guy. So his daughter more than likely is

Character Dynamics and Developments

00:25:02
Ryan
too. And we were saw that she definitely was at least somewhat at the end of last season. Um, So that could lead to something really interesting, like a you know ah drift in the family, um which could be kind of you know interesting for MM. Could be it some trouble for him.
00:25:17
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah. If they, if they even follow that.
00:25:20
Ryan
Yeah.
00:25:20
the_popcorn_podcast
oh I just had a good point I thought. Fuck. Oh my god, camera, i what I was gonna say.
00:25:26
Ryan
How about the sauna?
00:25:28
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh yeah, the sauna scene.
00:25:28
Ryan
The sauna was great.
00:25:29
the_popcorn_podcast
I did like the fight scene that comes from the sauna scene, from that episode at the end.
00:25:33
Ryan
Yeah, that was cool.
00:25:34
the_popcorn_podcast
It's fun just beating the shit out of all the multiple versions of the guy. That was weird, man.
00:25:40
Ryan
They're so funny.
00:25:41
the_popcorn_podcast
I was so happy ah no one else was around when i when that scene came on.
00:25:44
Ryan
Yeah.
00:25:44
the_popcorn_podcast
That would have been a hard one to explain.
00:25:47
Ryan
Still the worst of the show is the term I'd seen in, was that season two?
00:25:47
the_popcorn_podcast
but
00:25:53
Ryan
Or is that season three? The like opening scene.
00:25:55
the_popcorn_podcast
No, that was the yes, I've been seeing a three.
00:25:59
Ryan
Is it three? that's That's still the most like, what the fuck am I watching right now?
00:26:04
the_popcorn_podcast
I'm trying to think is that the weirdest one?
00:26:07
the_popcorn_podcast
I don't know the I don't know why like that just it just seemed expected with the boys that eventually we were gonna see an Ant-Man style thing.
00:26:07
Ryan
Yeah.
00:26:16
Ryan
Yeah, of course.
00:26:17
the_popcorn_podcast
I don't know the puppets was really weird to me that you just killing the puppets.
00:26:21
Ryan
Yeah, and Gen V, that was good. But that was that was like funny.
00:26:24
the_popcorn_podcast
It was a great scene, though.
00:26:25
Ryan
The term I seen was like, Oh my god.
00:26:30
the_popcorn_podcast
That scene, the Ant-Man.
00:26:30
Ryan
When he was climbing in Frenchy's pants, he's like, he's trying to get in my ass.
00:26:36
the_popcorn_podcast
as And we all knew something like that was coming, because I remember I remember he came out and said that we're we're going to bring up.
00:26:36
Ryan
it's So funny.
00:26:43
the_popcorn_podcast
We're going to show the kind of like the idea of Ant-Man going up down as his ass.
00:26:47
Ryan
Yeah.
00:26:48
the_popcorn_podcast
and i And so we kind of knew some of that. I don't think any of us expected what we got, but great, great opening to a great season of television.
00:26:54
Ryan
Oh. Yeah, totally. um Another point. What the fuck is happening with what's it, Jeffrey dean Morgan?
00:27:04
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, here I was kind of.
00:27:04
Ryan
Well, he don't.
00:27:05
the_popcorn_podcast
He has an important role in the. Do you see my background just turn like bright yellow?
00:27:10
Ryan
Yeah, that was really weird um Yeah in the world cuz remember I don't think he's playing the character that he does in the comics because remember when he got casted the rumor was that he was playing that like Iron Man type character I Did it can't be?
00:27:11
the_popcorn_podcast
That was weird. The hell was that?
00:27:23
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, I don't think that's who he's playing. I hope it's not. Why does my cat keep doing that?
00:27:27
Ryan
Prepare yourself Hope that was a lot of flick a bug off my mic. I don't think he's playing that character because that character is just a soup. And, you know, Jeopardy Morgan's playing a guy in the CIA. So it's not it's definitely not that character. I can't see him being like, oh, it it is this guy. He just turned an FBI guy. That would just be stupid. But um but like, what's he going to do? Because he and Butcher obviously have some history. um That line he says where he's like, would you sacrifice your own son? He's like, yeah, I'd be sad.
00:27:58
Ryan
but Yeah. It's like, damn.
00:27:59
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, that was when he's talking to Butcher was a great scene to say. It's the second time he's given him when they're kind of like coming up with their plan of how they're going to get Ryan.
00:28:08
Ryan
Yeah.
00:28:08
the_popcorn_podcast
He's like, I'm going to do whatever I have to do.
00:28:09
Ryan
Yeah.
00:28:10
the_popcorn_podcast
Like tell pretty much tell him, but like your son comes at me the wrong way. Like I'm doing what I have to do.
00:28:16
Ryan
He's going to die. Yeah. So he's he's trying to get Ryan because he's the one who gives him the plan or at least gives him. Was it him that gave him the drugs when the cookies to try and get Ryan?
00:28:25
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah.
00:28:26
Ryan
Yeah, it was him.
00:28:26
the_popcorn_podcast
What the fuck is with my cat?
00:28:27
Ryan
So ah that's that's the kind of storyline that he's going for. And they just didn't they didn't hit on that at all in episode four. So I don't know when he's going to show up again. And I don't know how important he's going to be. I don't know how expendable he's going to be in this show. But I mean, you get an actor like Jeffrey Dean Morgan. You think he's going to be in more than just two or three episodes of the show. You know what I mean? Obviously, he's been in two of the four episodes.
00:28:49
the_popcorn_podcast
Barely. It's two and three minutes.
00:28:52
Ryan
Yeah, but he's barely been in them. So definitely got to get more done with him, if if anything. I mean, you can't waste a guy like that at all.
00:29:01
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, no, I agree. I.
00:29:04
Ryan
Do you have the lights off?
00:29:05
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah.
00:29:07
Ryan
All right, freak.
00:29:08
the_popcorn_podcast
Only two.
00:29:10
Ryan
That's cool. No, no, no. You can leave them off. Leave them off. All right, there we go.
00:29:16
Ryan
Damn.
00:29:18
the_popcorn_podcast
son of a bitchho
00:29:19
Ryan
That's how you do it.
00:29:21
the_popcorn_podcast
but
00:29:22
Ryan
What else you got?
00:29:22
the_popcorn_podcast
but oh I I didn't like everything that comes from Ryan save I wanted more from that like don't get wrong yeah he has that whole conversation with butcher loved loved him and butcher seeing each other and hanging out and playing and stuff I like that and seeing
00:29:30
Ryan
Yeah, they kind of just skipped over that. They killed a guy. Yeah. And also the scene with Homelander where he's like, I killed whatever that guy's name was. And Homelander's like, Yeah, you know what he was doing though. He's fine with it. That was, that was pretty good, but yeah.
00:29:48
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, home there's a horrible father But yeah, I just kind of wish that maybe I kind of wish there was more News stuff about it. Like I should I feel like that's a big deal. Yes Blattered the diet.
00:30:01
Ryan
Definitely. Yeah.
00:30:03
the_popcorn_podcast
I guess the guy had a gun so maybe they're saying like oh he had to do
00:30:06
Ryan
Yeah. But they also pull that guy's IMDB page up and be like, This guy went from ah an aspiring actor at Vaught International to a a gunman. That's kind of odd. How did he get there?
00:30:18
the_popcorn_podcast
and Yeah, have I wonder how they haven't gotten caught yet on these fake saves.
00:30:19
Ryan
I don't
00:30:23
Ryan
There's no way they they had to have because they're like Obviously, yeah, obviously they know like everybody knows the movies are fake But remember the in season two when stormfront Pulls up and she has she's on like instagram live and she's like look at this.
00:30:26
the_popcorn_podcast
I guess they own everything.
00:30:37
Ryan
Look at the army base. It's not real This is connecticut and they're like get the fuck out of here, you know, so like everybody knows it's not real but there's still people Obviously, it's it's undeniable that the real superheroes because they'll fucking kill you but Everybody knows all the saves and shit are not real or at least majority of them.
00:30:53
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, they're movies pretty much. There's like actors several.
00:30:56
Ryan
Yeah, they're all planned out and and scripted and planned. um But, yeah, it's it's it's kind of like an overlook, just like, a you know, what we call it, dude, I can't think of anything today um like when you got to like put your mind past it. You know what I mean?
00:31:17
the_popcorn_podcast
No.
00:31:17
Ryan
You know what I mean? There's a term for this that's just right on the tip of my tongue I can't think of. Well, you got to like make the leap and just say like, all right, I know this doesn't make sense, but I'm just going to let it go for the sake of the show that the people aren't, you know, are just accepting that whatever these kind of but yeah, just, you know, just let it go.
00:31:31
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh, where it's like loopholes and things that you're kind of like, whatever, like doesn't matter. Yeah.
00:31:40
the_popcorn_podcast
yeah
00:31:40
Ryan
It's not it's not that important.
00:31:40
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah. I was just about to say something. I have some notes that I wrote down. I've seen that one.
00:31:45
Ryan
Oh, you've had notes this entire time.
00:31:47
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah. That's why I've been going off of, but yeah, something that we actually talked about, we talked about last year, last whenever, two years ago, last year.
00:31:49
Ryan
Okay.
00:31:57
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh wait, isn't today the anniversary of the podcast?
00:32:02
the_popcorn_podcast
I think I think it's today.
00:32:02
Ryan
Is it?
00:32:04
Ryan
I have no idea.
00:32:05
the_popcorn_podcast
What's today's date? Twenty fourth.
00:32:07
Ryan
24th.
00:32:11
the_popcorn_podcast
Maybe not.
00:32:12
Ryan
I dunno.
00:32:12
the_popcorn_podcast
We already happen.
00:32:15
the_popcorn_podcast
I think I might we might I might have missed it, but.
00:32:18
Ryan
That's great. Do you want to figure this out right now or talk about the voice?
00:32:20
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, I'll keep talking, but we've talked about this is a train ever going to pick an actual side or is it always just going to be? Oh, I'm gonna help a little bit, but then we'll go bad. Then we'll be a little bit good, be a little bad. And it was starting to actually get a little annoying to me. I kind of just want him to pick a side after three seasons. And it seems like we're finally getting him that he is against Homelander.
00:32:39
Ryan
Yeah. because
00:32:43
the_popcorn_podcast
He's just trying to figure out his way to do it.
00:32:45
Ryan
Yeah, I agree cuz he has been the one that's like been building is it one year or one year and have Or yeah Wow
00:32:47
the_popcorn_podcast
He did. Oh.
00:32:52
the_popcorn_podcast
One year, three years. Three years today.
00:32:59
Ryan
incredible ah Yeah, A-Train has been the one guy out of the seven at least that has been through the three seasons you've seen him kind of grow more and more away from Vault and the Homelander especially because he's terrified of Homelander. um So it will be interesting to see where he finally you know stands by the end of the show, by maybe the end of the season, because I'd imagine if if he's going to work with the boys fully, it'll be at least by the start of season five, because I feel like they'll need him for the whole season. um So it's interesting to see what he does, um where he stands by the end of this whole thing. I think he is definitely drifting towards working with the boys, or at least
00:33:45
Ryan
kind of holding back on them when he's working with vault um but you know it's just he is probably the most interesting character besides homelander in the seven because he's not you know the deep is the goofball but atrain is the guy that actually has feelings and has remorse for what he's done in his life like when he got his brother hurt paralyzed he had the scene when he was talking to his nephews that was that was pretty good Um, and he even says later with Huey and, and he's like, yeah, I saw you guys, but what do you need? Like he's just grown and it's, it's been one of the more interesting parts of the show for me. So I can't wait to see where he lands.
00:34:27
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, I I I would say a funny scene was the movie set that he's on Will Ferrell Dude that shit made me I was dying watching that but I had something I thought was really funny, of course was TruthCon TruthCon was such like a Especially go it been to like not done like that at all.
00:34:34
Ryan
Oh yeah, that was good. Yeah.
00:34:43
Ryan
Yeah, yeah, that was great.
00:34:48
the_popcorn_podcast
Not hardcore. but I'm not anything political or anything like that I'd went to um, I'd went to like a um I don't, I want my buddy.
00:34:55
Ryan
You've been to a couple rallies.
00:34:56
the_popcorn_podcast
It wasn't even a rally.
00:34:57
Ryan
Don't lie.
00:34:57
the_popcorn_podcast
No, it was like a, it was like a, it was like a military convention thing.
00:34:58
Ryan
You've been to a couple.
00:35:02
the_popcorn_podcast
And I just wanted to go see if I could find like new mode, some army gear I needed.
00:35:03
Ryan
Yeah.
00:35:06
the_popcorn_podcast
Dude, I went to the wrong kind of thing. This was wild.
00:35:13
the_popcorn_podcast
It was like the it was like the water turned the frogs gay type of stuff. Like it was it was crazy.
00:35:17
Ryan
Yeah, sure.
00:35:18
the_popcorn_podcast
I was out of my element. So then watching TruthCon and having seen stuff like that before, I was like, that's not how it really is, but now experiencing it. So funny, because that really is how some people are.
00:35:25
Ryan
Yeah.
00:35:28
the_popcorn_podcast
And if you are people like that, come on, come on, dude, do something, figure stuff out.
00:35:29
Ryan
Come on. Relax.
00:35:37
the_popcorn_podcast
There's no aliens making your pasta, track your brain, stuff like calm down.
00:35:43
Ryan
Yeah.
00:35:43
the_popcorn_podcast
But oh my god Back to the boys as I was saying with truth con that I did like that whole part of the episode while they're actually there It was more.
00:35:44
Ryan
They are turning the frogs get though. That is true.
00:35:57
the_popcorn_podcast
I didn't love the subway Ryan save Trying to think what else everybody
00:36:04
Ryan
I did like the little girl and Ryan save and she's like Oh, thank you. And then Homelander just pushes her out of the way.
00:36:12
the_popcorn_podcast
She's like, go he's like, go, go.
00:36:12
Ryan
That was, that was funny. Yeah. That was good.
00:36:16
the_popcorn_podcast
But yeah, I think.
00:36:19
the_popcorn_podcast
Episode two was definitely better than one. But again, I still think the whole season has been. A little, just as we said, it's a little disappointing so far, but we're not the only ones to think this is definitely more the consensus is that it's not bad by any means.
00:36:30
Ryan
Yeah.
00:36:34
Ryan
Yep.
00:36:34
the_popcorn_podcast
It's still better than a lot of TV we've gotten.
00:36:37
Ryan
yep
00:36:38
the_popcorn_podcast
But when you compare it to something as good as seasons one through three, you definitely see the faults in season four as much, much more. Yeah, that's what I had to say. There.
00:36:52
Ryan
Yeah, I was just showing you this guy. This guy just did something really, really cool.
00:36:57
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, I know I have it on my laptop.
00:36:58
the_popcorn_podcast
Rise Arbor.
00:36:59
Ryan
Oh.
00:37:01
Ryan
Three run home run, baby.
00:37:03
the_popcorn_podcast
Um, give me an episode three.
00:37:03
Ryan
Fuck the Tigers. Dude, tomorrow's game off topic.
00:37:05
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh.
00:37:07
Ryan
Tomorrow's game is going to be nice, dude. Suarez versus Google.
00:37:11
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh god, that's not gonna be a fun game Um, so now with episode three i'm trying to think of stuff I want to talk about What was episode three Oh, this is more when we learn more about firecracker.
00:37:12
Ryan
That's going to be a good matchup. Yeah, what do you got?
00:37:25
Ryan
I don't remember.
00:37:28
the_popcorn_podcast
We also see uh, ashley kind of she loses her job as the ceo and Well, she's not the ceo anymore
00:37:36
Ryan
Well, she tries to.
00:37:42
Ryan
Wait, is she not? Did I forget something?
00:37:43
the_popcorn_podcast
No. Yeah, Homelander tells us she's no longer.

Episode 3 Insights and Future Expectations

00:37:47
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh, no, she is the CEO. I guess she's just like she's like kind of like the poster child for it behind doors.
00:37:53
Ryan
Well, yeah.
00:37:54
the_popcorn_podcast
It's a. What's her name?
00:37:57
Ryan
Sister Sage.
00:37:58
the_popcorn_podcast
Yes, Sister Sage, first off, love her.
00:37:59
Ryan
Right? Yeah.
00:38:01
the_popcorn_podcast
Very interested in this character.
00:38:02
Ryan
Yeah, she's she's been good.
00:38:02
the_popcorn_podcast
Like the powers. I loved learning more about her virus and how she has to pretty much take some of her brain out all the time.
00:38:10
Ryan
Dude, I was not expecting that at all.
00:38:12
the_popcorn_podcast
Do it. the where The way that she gets the deep to help or what she says to him was one of the funniest lines of the entire show so far.
00:38:17
Ryan
Yeah.
00:38:20
Ryan
That was good.
00:38:21
the_popcorn_podcast
I...
00:38:21
Ryan
I thought
00:38:22
the_popcorn_podcast
Out loud left.
00:38:23
Ryan
Yeah, I thought when you because you see that in episode three when they bang you just see it like all bloody I thought She had killed the um, the octopus the deeps I I wasn't sure that's what I thought but then when you find out it's like oh, oh It's tough to watch man
00:38:27
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah.
00:38:33
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh no, I thought Homelander did something to her that made her act weird. Much worse than anything. Oh, but.
00:38:46
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, I'm I'm ah I am a fan of her character so far. I'm definitely excited to see more of that. ah We know that Dakota Bob.
00:38:52
Ryan
But does that mean I'm going to cut you off? Well, not just a quick thing. Does that mean that she is not one of the bulletproof ones? Because you never really know who's bulletproof and who's not.
00:39:02
the_popcorn_podcast
She's not.
00:39:02
the_popcorn_podcast
She said that she's like she gets hit in the heart. She dies.
00:39:02
Ryan
But since she can.
00:39:05
the_popcorn_podcast
She says, but yeah she says if I get hit in the heart, I die.
00:39:05
Ryan
Oh, did she?
00:39:06
Ryan
All right.
00:39:08
the_popcorn_podcast
I get shot in the brain. It grows back.
00:39:10
Ryan
Yeah, because I figured because you can you can kind of tell sometimes whether like some soups have like more offensive type powers and they're usually bulletproof. Whereas the more like defensive ones or like intelligent ones that they're not.
00:39:20
the_popcorn_podcast
They're not.
00:39:24
Ryan
But yeah. What else? What about the code above?
00:39:28
the_popcorn_podcast
He's fully moving forward with his Superhero Management Act, which we know people are not happy about and Homelander and Oh my God, just forgot my girl's name.
00:39:41
Ryan
Sister stage.
00:39:42
the_popcorn_podcast
No, the vice president vice elect.
00:39:42
Ryan
Wait, who are we talking about?
00:39:47
Ryan
Oh, you're cutting out.
00:39:47
the_popcorn_podcast
Head popper.
00:39:48
Ryan
Newman. Newman.
00:39:51
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, Newman. But. ah We also see mothers milk blackmailing a train throughout this ah in this episode by switching the phones, which I thought was pretty cool. But all in all, season episode three again kind of just felt like a building block episode, which I think so far that's what the entire season has felt like.
00:40:11
Ryan
Mm hmm.
00:40:12
the_popcorn_podcast
Does that make sense? Like there's cool.
00:40:14
the_popcorn_podcast
There's good moments, but everything kind of seems like it's just trying to set up things after things after things.
00:40:14
Ryan
Agreed.
00:40:19
Ryan
Yeah, totally. I totally agree with that. It just feels like there's a lot of fill in stuff where you get characters talking about shit they don't really need to and just kind of building up on things that aren't as interesting or won't have as much payoff. Like it it's just hasn't been to the same par that the previous three seasons have been at, which, you know, said that 10 times already, but it's just, it's the truth for me. It's my truth bomb. That was how I hate myself for saying that.
00:40:51
the_popcorn_podcast
That was bad. But, uh, I did like the line when the Deep, you find out that the Deep's friends were Shia LaBeouf.
00:40:53
Ryan
It's really bad.
00:40:59
the_popcorn_podcast
He's like, yeah, me and Shia are good friends. He wants me to be in, uh... Oh my god.
00:41:04
Ryan
Oh, honey boy two.
00:41:05
the_popcorn_podcast
Peanut Butter Falcon 2.
00:41:07
Ryan
No, he said honey boy too.
00:41:09
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh, I thought it was peanut butter. In my head.
00:41:11
Ryan
I don't think the thief's gonna be in peanut butter falcon town.
00:41:13
the_popcorn_podcast
Dude, that's what I do in my head from the start.
00:41:16
the_popcorn_podcast
That's what the line was. I think I- I think I wanted it so bad to be Peterborough Falcon 2 as the line. Come on, tell me that wouldn't have been funny if that's what he said.
00:41:16
Ryan
It would have been really funny.
00:41:28
the_popcorn_podcast
Damn it. Was he wanting to be in?
00:41:31
Ryan
I mean, what's he gonna do in honey boy? Honey boy?
00:41:33
the_popcorn_podcast
What's- Which one's Honeyboy?
00:41:34
Ryan
when he was the one it's like it's about Shia when he was a kid and and his dad being an asshole.
00:41:38
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh, and his dad's like abusive and stuff, yeah.
00:41:40
Ryan
Yeah.
00:41:42
the_popcorn_podcast
No, i would that's not the sequel.
00:41:43
Ryan
How about Peanut Butter Falcon, though, Doug? That's a good movie.
00:41:46
the_popcorn_podcast
That's a great movie.
00:41:51
the_popcorn_podcast
My father's texting me.
00:41:51
Ryan
You talk about a movie that's for the boys, Peanut Butter, Motherfucking Falcon. That's for the boys, baby.
00:41:57
the_popcorn_podcast
I want to be a wrestler. Hell yeah.
00:42:01
Ryan
Am I going to die? So, yeah, we're all dying one day. as we go more you calling him that we
00:42:05
the_popcorn_podcast
Dude, I love that movie. That movie. It's so good. I might rewatch that. Hold on. Matt Creston needs me for something. But.
00:42:16
the_popcorn_podcast
No, I just need to I just need to read the text really quick. But is there a So anything else you really want to add towards the boys? Oh, I guess we can we still got to talk about before a little bit more. But.

Conclusion and Future Content Preview

00:42:26
Ryan
have with what even happened ah you get What's his name? Gabriel in season, in episode four. It's kind of good to see him again. I'm kind of excited. The stretchy guy.
00:42:37
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh, yeah, he's like the crazy religious guy.
00:42:38
Ryan
The religious guy.
00:42:41
Ryan
He's like the pastor dude. Yeah.
00:42:43
the_popcorn_podcast
It's firecracker does like her six hour live stream ah mother's milk butcher and French ego and then starlight finally shows up at one point, but it was kind of fun to see.
00:42:44
Ryan
ah
00:42:55
the_popcorn_podcast
ah Huey and. Can't remember her name.
00:43:02
the_popcorn_podcast
The girl, the other one.
00:43:02
Ryan
Oh, Kimiko.
00:43:03
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, call me go.
00:43:04
Ryan
Kimiko.
00:43:06
the_popcorn_podcast
And seeing them work together for once instead of her and friendship because that tends to be like their duo.
00:43:10
Ryan
Uh-huh.
00:43:10
the_popcorn_podcast
Dude, struggling today with names. Shut up.
00:43:13
Ryan
Yep.
00:43:13
the_popcorn_podcast
But I did like that whole fight scene. I was kind of hyped for Huey. Finally of getting to do some give some business.
00:43:17
Ryan
Yeah, you texted me. You were excited.
00:43:20
the_popcorn_podcast
But yeah, no, I'm I'm.
00:43:24
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, I'm excited to still just kind of see where they're going with the compound V and how it's going to affect the. You know who and. Yeah, I'm just kind of excited to see where the season goes because I do want to know. I just wanted to go back to the way it was for three seasons and I'm not going to give up hope on the show after four, um four mediocre episodes. I just really hope that they can figure it out.
00:43:48
Ryan
Yeah. Yeah. I think they will. I think, um, what's his name? Eric Kripke is a good enough show runner that he he's got a plan. He's got it planned out. And especially if they know that season five is going to be the end, like they, they have a set plan that they're going to follow. So I'm not worried for where they're going to go. I'm more so worried about how they're going to get there. Cause it's just kind of seems, it seems like they're going the route of just having like, a couple boring episodes and then the last like episode maybe two is just everything back into one which is never fun to watch because it's always just way too much.
00:44:25
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah.
00:44:25
Ryan
So I'm hoping they don't do that. um But I am so excited to see where the show goes. These characters are still great as much as we've kind of agreed that their stories this season haven't been as interesting. They're still great characters each and every one of them. They're always fun to watch and just see what kind of shit they get into. So still looking forward to episodes every week because it's it's still a good show No,
00:44:48
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, I know we still it's still better than 90% of what 90% shows that on television right now. But, um, yeah, I have nothing really else to add for the four episodes that we talked about. Uh, yeah, do you don't be tired yet.
00:45:03
Ryan
yeah I think i'm good I know we got to do one more.
00:45:05
the_popcorn_podcast
We still gotta do another episode, but, Oh, but whatever.
00:45:08
Ryan
I got a little secret though for the next one I got a little present
00:45:16
the_popcorn_podcast

00:46:01
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah, I kinda- I wasn't gonna talk about it yet.
00:46:04
Ryan
This should be fun. Um, I just, the last thing I'll leave you with is that my recommendation of the week is peanut butter Falcon.
00:46:05
the_popcorn_podcast
Can't lift my arm.
00:46:08
the_popcorn_podcast
Oh shit!
00:46:09
Ryan
And you forgot at this time, bitch, you forgot about it.
00:46:13
the_popcorn_podcast
God damn it. Recommendation of the week, oh shit.
00:46:16
Ryan
Let's go.
00:46:19
the_popcorn_podcast
What was yours?
00:46:21
Ryan
Peanut butter Falcon.
00:46:22
the_popcorn_podcast
Ah, that's a good one.
00:46:23
Ryan
Cause I definitely remember that and meant to say it the whole time.
00:46:24
the_popcorn_podcast
Uh, I'm-
00:46:26
Ryan
I didn't just remember it cause we were talking about it.
00:46:29
the_popcorn_podcast
I'm going to recommend a horror movie and I'm going to recommend Hell House LLC, one of my all time favorite horror movies and a movie I just got to show Ryan the other day. Pretty cool.
00:46:38
Ryan
It was good.
00:46:39
the_popcorn_podcast
But yeah, um that's my recommendation. We make sure to go check it out. And if you're looking for a game to go try out, Ryan and my other three two friends were not able to play because they're morons. But there's a game called Madison. It's very fun once you figure out the controls.
00:46:54
Ryan
Did you play more of it?
00:46:55
the_popcorn_podcast
Yeah.
00:46:56
Ryan
Did you get the code for the fucking?
00:46:58
the_popcorn_podcast
No, that that's at the very end of the game.
00:47:00
Ryan
Oh, I wasn't supposed to go there yet.
00:47:02
the_popcorn_podcast
No.
00:47:04
Ryan
but the How long was the the thing?
00:47:06
the_popcorn_podcast
It was an hour.
00:47:07
Ryan
the trial was it that long thank all yeah a about game yeah unbelievable can't believe you did that how's the dragon episodes one and two
00:47:09
the_popcorn_podcast
Hmm.
00:47:12
the_popcorn_podcast
It was really just it's just an hour of the like the first hour of the game. Yeah. Like it wasn't like a trial where they kind of combined the whole thing. But got scared a couple of times. Really good horror game. But yeah, thank you guys again. Sorry for wasting everyone's time and forgetting about the recommendation of the week. But we will see you in the next episode when we talk about House of the Dragon. Ryan, let's sign them off.
00:47:39
the_popcorn_podcast
got
00:47:39
Ryan
Corbin Cale's a bitch.
