Manchester United's Away Victory Celebration

00:00:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello everyone and welcome back to the Daily Manchester United. You join us after our fourth away win of the season in the Premier League. We've now hit double digits for wins in the Premier League this season. Let's all celebrate.
00:00:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Forget the fact that it was against Leicester. Celebrate anyway. My name's Kieran. I'm delighted to say I'm joined by Sam on today's episode. Sam, how are you?
00:00:33
Sam Brady
Yeah, good, mate. Yeah, good. It's been a good week, obviously. Two wins for you United and two losses for Liverpool. So, I mean, it's always good, isn't it? So, yeah, not not bad, mate.
00:00:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
And we're above Tottenham. We're up to 13th now after

Leicester's Frustration and Hoyland's Breakthrough

00:00:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
that result. And let's it's fair to say this game was not easy on the eye for either side. um I think the Leicester fans were getting much more frustrated than the United fans.
00:00:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
you know, the the Leicester fans were groaning every time the ball went backwards when there was a chance to go forward. So that's a summation of their season. They're they're going on a a goalless streak at the moment. Someone who's ended their goal drought tonight, as we record this, over 22 hours, I believe it was, that he hadn't scored a goal.
00:01:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Rasmus Hoyland, of course he scores from a tight angle with his weaker foot. But it's a fantastic finish. A finish from a striker that should be, you know, that's... that's of someone who's banging form and in confidence as well. But yeah, finally...
00:01:33
Sam Brady
Yeah, I mean, I'm glad he got his goal today, to be honest, because, and I did think before the game, he'd get a chances to to obviously end that goal drought, and I think we all agreed on um Thursday night that he deserved a goal on Thursday night. He tried his best, the crowd were getting

Hoyland's Playing Style and Manchester's Effective Play

00:01:48
Sam Brady
behind him, and I know me and Cormac mentioned on on the podcast episode after um that that he really tried his hardest and got in the position. So, yeah, and and as you said, a really good finish when he did get in front of goal. and And this is a thing about Rasmus that I've always felt.
00:02:04
Sam Brady
I always felt like when his best sort of position and movement is always behind running in behind the defence, I think. I think we saw it a lot last season when a lot of his goals were him getting in behind the defence, the ball being played over the top and him using his pace and I've always said when you get him in front of goal in that six-yard area, he is a finisher.
00:02:28
Sam Brady
But I think under Almorin this season, he's played a lot with his back to goal and and sort of playing and almost as that hold-up striker, which I don't think he is that striker, as I've mentioned.
00:02:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:02:39
Sam Brady
So, yeah, I think to get the best out of Hoyland, you've just got to put it... sort put the ball over the top, hopefully he gets on the end of it. and And as you said, it was on from the tight angle and on on his weaker right right foot.
00:02:51
Sam Brady
I mean, I thought the chance chance had gone with his first couple of touches. But um yeah, as I've said, you get him in front of that six yard area and I'm confident that that he does finish his chances.
00:03:02
Sam Brady
It's just obviously they've been few and far between this year. So yeah, good finish from him and and and a decent performance all around, I thought, once again.
00:03:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, in a game where United actually did struggle for possession, but it seemed like United were doing more with it. If you're an XG believer, Leicester actually created the better XG. And when we get into the second half as well later on, we'll talk about more about that.
00:03:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah, this seemed like a game where it seemed way cager than maybe it should have been. ah think it's fair to say. you know These are two teams that are... struggling with form. Leicester are battling relegation. United, you know big three points to move them above Tottenham, which in the lower half of the table is is unbelievable.
00:03:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
But a couple of standout performances, which we'll obviously highlight. But what did you make of the the line-up here? Obviously, we had Anana starting in goal. We had Lindelof, De Ligt and Heven, Heven making his Premier League debut. Then you had Masraoui, Fernandes, Dalo and Ugarte along that middle four, if you like.
00:04:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
And you Ericsson on Garnaccio starting as the attacking midfielders, Hoyland starting up top. What did you make of it,

Injury Concerns and Key Player Performances

00:04:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Sam?
00:04:10
Sam Brady
Yeah, obviously, you mentioned there Narno in goal. I think there was a few doubts before the game whether whether he was going to start. There was a few rumours about an injury, but obviously he started and didn't really have much to do in the game. I think it's probably what maybe one of only shots can really remember him saving his Vardy chance at the end. And then, as you mentioned, Heaven again getting another start, who...
00:04:34
Sam Brady
I mean, before he went off injured, I thought he had a very good game again, and considering it's only a second start. um It's just a shame that once again he's well, he's gone off injured. And I was going to say, once again, we have another injury on the board. And we're really and that and that is sort of a position that we are very, very in need of right now is centre-backs. And obviously, Heaven was brought in in to sort of cover the the injuries we already have in there. And now he's gone off in a stretcher, which which doesn't look good.
00:05:05
Sam Brady
um So we'll have to wait and see to find out how long he's going to be out for. Ericsson obviously came in and Casemiro was given a rest. And I think... With Casemiro obviously playing in midweek and his age, I think it was probably just a rest for him.
00:05:21
Sam Brady
And to be honest, I thought Eriksen played all right. He had that marvellous shot that sort of, from the angle, that smashed the post in the first half.
00:05:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah
00:05:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
So you are calling it a shot then? Are you and ending this debate here?
00:05:35
Sam Brady
Oh, yeah, yeah. It was a shot. I mean, we've seen Christian Eriksen pull pull like that out ah out into the top bins for throughout his career. So, he's certainly capable of it. So, I'm definitely calling a shot. um So, yeah, I thought he he played there not too bad. And then...
00:05:52
Sam Brady
Obviously, you had a lead in the front, Hoyland, who mentioned that he's got his goal and hopefully now he can kick on. where I feel like he's a striker that sort of his goals come in bunches. So hopefully now, um obviously coming into the back end of of the season, he can he can start to score.
00:06:10
Sam Brady
Garnaccio got on the score sheet again um and i' captain fantastic, of course, Bruno Fernandes. coming up with not only a goal, but I think they might give him that assist for the Garnaccio goal as well.
00:06:22
Sam Brady
So,

Youth Talent and Defensive Prowess

00:06:23
Sam Brady
yeah, not not a bad day at the office, but against a yeah really poor Leicester side, to be honest.
00:06:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
go on
00:06:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah a leicester side that seemed more comfortable going backwards rather than forwards there were plenty of chances to know really make it make use of united's weaknesses and as you said we wish aid and heaven all the best uh stretch it off sort of at the 50th minute or so does well to sort of prevent pats and dacca from actually getting there but has sacrificed essentially himself, which if you're off on a stretcher at this point in the season, that's probably your season over, unfortunately.
00:06:55
Sam Brady
to
00:06:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Toby Collier came on in his place. And for someone who is more comfortable in the midfield, I thought he was okay. yeah I think he there were moments where he maybe hesitated on the ball right in the heart of defence, which is not ideal.
00:07:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
i thought he did okay. He was slightly out of position, but you know makeshift, he he did the job.
00:07:17
Sam Brady
Yeah, and that and that's the thing that you mentioned there. He was out of position. So I feel like, obviously, he's more comfortable playing it in the middle there. And I mean, him himself, he's only come back from injury as well. So it's sort of getting minutes and under his belt since his injury. So, yeah, i thought he did pretty well. But I was thinking at the end of the game, if you actually look at who we had on the pitch in terms of ah academy prospects, you had, obviously, Toby Colley, I've just mentioned. Heaven started, but obviously had to go off.
00:07:45
Sam Brady
Harry Amas came on for his first senior start. You had Obi coming on as well. So, I mean, Manchester United sort of doing what we do best with bringing youth through.
00:07:56
Sam Brady
There's, what, four or five there we mentioned that that got minutes. So, yeah, Toby Collier, decent performance as it as he's come on. Obviously not his position, but yeah by the end of the game, I was i was proud to see the sort of youngsters get the minutes that, that to be to be honest, all of them have sort of deserved. Yeah.
00:08:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
but Wonderful stuff. Yeah, absolutely. You know, the United way, bringing on those youth players.
00:08:17
Sam Brady
Yep.
00:08:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
We're going to take a quick break. When we come back, a bit more about singing the praises of the United players, something we haven't done too often this season.
00:09:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Harry Amas coming on off the bench. Niall is going to be delighted with that. Unfortunately, i don't think he was able to watch the game. So you have to watch that back, Niall. He comes on in about 69th minute. So you've got 20 minutes of Harry Amas to watch there, Niall.
00:09:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Yeah, as we said a bit before the break there, we've got players coming in. we've We've got, you know, now a little bit of an injury concern, especially at centre-back. And, you Aidan Heffern making a Premier League debut, I thought he had a terrific game, you did Heffern. And I think as well, De Ligt, the shot that De Ligt is able to sort of push away or at least get in front of. in that second half when Vardy squares it across and think, well, here we go. Leicester are going to score here.
00:10:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
But it's a brilliant block from De Ligt. Could questions be asked about where the placement of that shot is? Yes. But the point is De Ligt takes the gamble and blocks the shot. It's a wonderful block.
00:10:14
Sam Brady
Yeah, and and that's the thing with De Ligt where I don't think you can ever question his sort of commitment and determination in in in his defending. I think, okay, like many United players this season and he's had an up and down season and and people forget maybe that it is only his first season at United like a few of the players. So it's sort of sort of getting comfortable and in and in playing with your teammates and that. But yeah, again, I'll ah repeat what sort of you said. And and I was very impressed with with what Dillick, how he played today and his defending. I don't think there was a lot of defending to do against Leicester, but when they did create chances, it was very sort of throw your throw your body in front of the ball type thing. Because I remember Aidan Heaven, I think, did something similar. and
00:11:04
Sam Brady
blocking a ah shot like that. But yeah, De Ligt, I mean, as I said, that's what he does best. He's sort of always, always throwing himself in front of the ball. and and And he is a player where you look at throughout his career where it's he's won many trophies and many big teams, Juventus, Bayern Munich. So he is a sort of quality player if you can get the best out of him. and But as you say,
00:11:27
Sam Brady
Hopefully um hopefully we we sort of don't have too much cause for concern at centre-back. Even De Ligt was hobbling at ah the last 10 minutes there as well, so hopefully there's nothing too

Challenges of Limited Defensive Options

00:11:40
Sam Brady
serious for him. but i mean If you look at the centre-backs that are actually fully fit for us now, you have Lindelof, De Ligt, and that's about it.
00:11:48
Sam Brady
so
00:11:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes.
00:11:49
Sam Brady
um we We are in trouble at centre-back. Maybe Masraoui comes in at centre-back and and and And you put De Lotte right back. And maybe, as you mentioned, Harry Amas got some so minutes today. So maybe um he can get some so some minutes more minutes under his belt at left back, especially with Dorg, who I think is maybe still being suspended.
00:12:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
yes
00:12:10
Sam Brady
and you got that straight red card. So, yeah, maybe we'll see more of our Harry Amas. But, yeah, being being impressed by De Ligt as well.
00:12:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, Dorgou is suspended for the Forest game. That's the last game to serve his suspension in the Premier League.
00:12:21
Sam Brady
Brilliant.
00:12:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
So he will be unavailable for that. So, yeah, that that is the case. We'll say, though, Xerxes coming on for the last 20, 25 minutes of that game. got so He's playing with so much confidence. the The highlight of the game for me is him picking the ball up at his own half and he's able to just sort of dribble and race against Faiz down that left-hand side. In the end, he sort of wins a throw in. which, I don't know, FaZe pulls his shirt back. But it was a wonderful bit of display, silky footwork. And I just sort of think, yes, Xerxi is starting to click now, and it's really exciting to see.
00:12:57
Sam Brady
Yeah, look, it's easy to sort of take the when you're 3-0 up and I think that was a bit of what... i think
00:13:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
got to wash your mouth out with soap there.
00:13:04
Sam Brady
yeah Yeah, well, I think that was sort of what Xerchi was doing to Faust there at the end. And I think you saw the frustration in Faust. He sort of was saying, no, I'm not having any of that. ah But I mean, yeah, Xerchi, think we we've mentioned it on previous episodes in the past couple weeks. As you said, he's a player playing with so much confidence. I mean, he looks like a completely different player to the player who who sort of started this season and and the player who subbed off at Newcastle. But Yeah, he's another one where he's playing with so much confidence and he's such a good technical player. You can see when the ball's at his feet, he's so good at and little flicks and tricks and and laying it off.
00:13:46
Sam Brady
And I think it's similar to Hoyland where... I think when he first came in that first half of the season, we were playing him sort of as a striker where it wasn't really natural to him. and and so I actually think he's he's probably a better player just behind the striker as maybe a number 10 or playing just wide and Hoyland down the middle.
00:14:07
Sam Brady
But I think both of them, if Hoyland can start firing and Xerchi... can can start can work can continue how he's playing at the minute. I think those two can sort of have a good bit of synergy and a good bit of relationship going on there. But yeah, and I think today, maybe it was a bit surprised that Xerchi wasn't on on the starting team sheet.
00:14:28
Sam Brady
But I think sort of Bruno with obviously a big European tie coming up in a couple of weeks as well, is just resting some of those players and Xerchi was one of them.
00:14:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Which makes sense. Squad rotation is going to be really important coming up. Obviously, Forrest on the 1st of April. Hopefully, we're not the jester's fool on April Fool's Day when we have to face Forrest at 8 o'clock in the evening on that Tuesday.
00:14:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Nevertheless, Garnaccio on the right. Now, I think it's been a common theme on this podcast that we've sort of... implied that Garnaccio down the right isn't his strongest side, but he was lighting up that right-hand side. He was such a danger and such a threat whenever he entered the Leicester box.
00:15:12
Sam Brady
Yeah, i I said on Thursday and I'll still stand by I do prefer him off the left. I just feel like on the right he has a a bit of hesitancy to use his right foot and maybe either first time shooting or first time crossing. I feel like in those positions when he can do that, it's almost a bit predictable that he's going to cut back on his left and try and get the shot off or the cross.
00:15:35
Sam Brady
Saying that, ah Like on Thursday and like today, I mean, he is ah he's quality. He's a quality player and he's a great finisher. And he's ah he' one of few players that we have in the squad right now, when you take Ahmad out of it, that still runs at defenders and and still try it.
00:15:53
Sam Brady
tries to make something happen. Obviously, Bruno is the type of player who can cut through spaces with his passing, but he's not to dribble past players. Whereas Garnaccio gives you that pace against Leicester, but also when you're trying to counter-attack teams as well, which obviously we we weren't playing counter-attack in football today, but when we're playing the likes of Arsenal,
00:16:16
Sam Brady
Garn actually gives you that pace on the counter-attack. I think today, obviously, he got that goal ruled out, which was very close. But then, a couple minutes later, he he got his goal, and which was it was a tidy finish. I maybe think Hermansen maybe could have got a bigger hand on it, considering he did get a touch and and keep it out. But...
00:16:37
Sam Brady
good for us that Garnaccio got his goal and and he's another player that hopefully now he can start playing with some confidence and contributing to the goals.
00:16:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, take another quick break. When we come back, more harping on about Captain Bruno Fantastic. And we get to decide our man of the match. Let's see if we get it right. Join us after this.

Global Sports Podcast Network
It could be his 50th Premier League assist, if he gets it.

Bruno Fernandes' Impact and Commitment

00:17:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
What is certain, though, is that he's creeping ever closer ah to double digits in the Premier League, almost matching last year's tally. I believe he's up to nine Premier League goals for the season.
00:17:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, again, he was he was running that midfield, almost ah almost orchestrating in that one. And I feel like that This is what Bruno does. I really like him in that deeper role. Amorim prefers him in that deeper role.
00:18:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's clear to see that when Fernandes is playing on the pitch, we're a much better side. And I mean, we mentioned it on one of our last episodes last week. Where would we be without him is the simple question. And further down the table and maybe in a really bad place would probably be the answer.
00:18:29
Sam Brady
Yeah, I mean, everyone seems to sort of rotate next to him in Agate, Eriksen, Casemiro, but Bruno's the one which is just unreplaceable. I mean, he's world-class and and that's just me that's not just me having a United bias and thinking that.
00:18:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:18:45
Sam Brady
He is genuinely world-class and I think It's just maybe a shame that we're obviously doing so poor this season that maybe he's not getting the appreciation that I think he deserves. But honestly, as you said, without him, God knows where we'll be because he he is unbelievable. He assists, he scores and obviously got that hat-trick against Sosia Dad in in the week and then and then today.
00:19:10
Sam Brady
gets the assist and and and gets his goal at the end, which by the way, what a finish. I mean, I think because this the game was sort of done um and and and there wasn't much riding on that goal that maybe it's gone under the radar, but what a finish.
00:19:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:19:24
Sam Brady
That is the pullback on the edge of the box. and And that's the thing about Bruno. When he gets into those positions, okay, it might not go in every time, but he hits the target. He makes sure he tests the goalkeeper. And that was an unbelievable finish. And,
00:19:38
Sam Brady
and And yeah, it's it's it's a funny one with Bruno because as I said on Thursday, rival fans maybe question his attitude and and and and question sort of his character, but there's no question is his ability.
00:19:54
Sam Brady
He would get into any Premier League squad right now, and the the form he's on. And, yeah, he's he's one of those players where you just know come the summer, all right, some players might move on, some some players might come in. But Bruno Fernandes is definitely one of those players where where we should build around.
00:20:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, i I struggle to put together how it hasn't happened already, the the fact that we have to build a team around him. But... Hey, we've got we got a put we got three points a again like against Leicester.
00:20:24
Sam Brady
Thank you.
00:20:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
He got, if he is given it, two assists and a goal involved in all the goals scored today. The cutback from Dalloe, as you say, to Fernandes is well hit as well, but a perfectly capped up.
00:20:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I think this is probably going to be one of the easiest man-of-the-match decisions we're going to ever make. And I assume, Sam, we're going to be on the same wavelength here.
00:20:49
Sam Brady
Yes, I don't think we we are going to be, to be honest. that alllthough
00:20:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
Really? Really?
00:20:53
Sam Brady
Although I know I've just hopped on about Bruno and and how good he is. i think sort of it's funny because we've come to expect that now from Bruno where every game is is quality. and and And I was just going to mention, actually, i don't know if you saw the interview actually in the week where... he actually said he sat down with some of the senior figures at United in the summer and he actually got offered if he wanted to leave as well. But he said he wanted to stay and he wanted to sort of build on on on the new project. So that just shows you sort where his head's at and sort of,
00:21:27
Sam Brady
there is a world where he might not have been with us this season. And and and as we've said, God knows where we would be without him. um But yeah, in terms of man of the match, although Bruno was a contender and is and his assist and goal definitely is is up there, I think...
00:21:43
Sam Brady
From an attacking point of view, yeah, we scored three goals. and But as as we've said, it wasn't against a great Leicester side. But I'm actually going to shout out someone we shouted out earlier on in in the episode episode, and that's Matthias De Ligt.
00:21:57
Sam Brady
I think he's going to be my man of the match, I think, because although, as I said, our defence has had a very sort of shaky season, and I think this is the the first clean sheet we've had in ah in a long time, I think.
00:21:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:22:09
Sam Brady
and But I think De Ligt had a very, very solid performance. As we've said, I think he jumped in front of every ball he could. he He sort of headed every corner out he could.
00:22:20
Sam Brady
At the end, he was still... Almorin was looking over to him to see if he wanted to come off as he was hobbling on that ankle, but he wanted to stay out there and and see out the full-time whistle. So...
00:22:33
Sam Brady
I think he had a very solid performance. and and And as well, next to him, you had obviously Lindelof, who's not played a lot of minutes this season. You had Aidan Heaven, a young defender, um and then obviously got got ah sub subbed off halfway through the game. So I think for De Ligt, it was just a...
00:22:51
Sam Brady
sort of about leading and managing that defence that he hasn't had a lot of time to play with this season. And I think he did a very solid job and obviously got the clean sheet in the end.
00:23:02
Sam Brady
So, Dillick's my man of the match for today. Yeah.
00:23:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Now there's your Brady man of the match. Now your beginning man of the match is Bruno Fernandes. I don't know what more he could have done today to to earn himself, but you're right.
00:23:11
Sam Brady
yeah
00:23:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
De Ligt there, body on the line. That is and old school defending. You just throw whatever you can in front of any shot. Aidan Heaven, I thought, had a really good first Premier League game, I'd love to shout him out. And if that's the only time we see him this season, we certainly made an impression. And ah We'll wait to hear from the injury news. But if Amirim said in the pre-match press conference leading into this Leicester match that he's proud to coach Fernandes...
00:23:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
That's all that needs to be said, really. Fernandes is my man of the match, and he's he's he's been such a game changer in so many games this season.
00:23:47
Sam Brady
Yes.

It's hard not to give it to him. um But as you say, if he is the best player on the team, I'm expecting to get man of the match week in, week out.
00:23:56
Sam Brady
yeah
00:23:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
um but Is there anyone you'd like to shout out? Because I would like to shout out Hoyland. It's tough for a striker when you go through that

Hoyland's Improvement and Team's European Aspirations

00:24:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
barren patch, that barren run. you It was...
00:24:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah what, 22 hours, I think it was, that that was said on the the broadcast. But I mean, he took that finish on as if he'd already scored 20 this season. So much, you know, he backed himself. Mentally, he was in a good place.
00:24:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
And he's really made a marked improvement over the last couple of games, especially in that Europa League match against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford. It seemed like everything he did worked apart from scoring.
00:24:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, he got the scoring right tonight.
00:24:36
Sam Brady
Yeah, and and that's the thing about Hoyland that that we've mentioned earlier on in this episode, where on Thursday it was just that final goal that that was the missing part on Thursday night. I mean, he tried his hardest.
00:24:49
Sam Brady
The fans got behind him and and I think everyone knew that he was sort of giving it his best. way I don't think we've seen... a lot of that from him this season and I think that's been the frustration with fans where we watch him last year and yeah okay he scored goals last year but also in my opinion i saw a different Hoyland where he would press defenders he would hurry them down and he would really like we've said about De Ligt like put his body on the line and try and get in front of the ball and and just try and put players under pressure whereas feel like this season he's sort of been like half pressing and
00:25:25
Sam Brady
And that that doesn't fly with fans. And fans know, fans can't be kidded on when you watch but I've watched him this season and he's and he's pressed defenders, but not really. And I'm like, you're not really impacting the game there.
00:25:37
Sam Brady
So on Thursday night, when he was chasing defenders down and he was playing it off and and he was getting it in the box and and that's the thing that I've said and i'll and I'll stand by it Rasmus is the best Rasmus when he's in that six yard area when he's he's getting the ball and he can finish when he's holding it the ball up back to defenders that's not his game he's just going to get dragged down and and try and get the free kick Rasmus is the best when you put it put the ball in behind get him racing defenders and then
00:26:07
Sam Brady
put him in front of goal and I think that's what you saw today with his goal the ball was just spun in behind the defence and just got him to chase it and and yeah i thought as I said I thought the chance was gone and I was surprised that he took it on his right foot but hell of a finish on the right foot the keeper's not getting anywhere near that and yeah I think now, obviously, the international break a bit of a disruption. so Hopefully, that that um won't won't sort of disrupt this form. but and Then, obviously, we were our next game is on, as you said, April 1st against Forest away, I believe. and and That's a really, really tough game. so
00:26:46
Sam Brady
I think we'll all be surprised if we get any points out of that. But even if we don't get the result that we're looking for, we want to see players just put in 100% effort. Like we've said about De Ligt today, that's why I've given him man of the match.
00:27:00
Sam Brady
Like we've mentioned about Hoyland, just harrying defenders, like chasing after the ball. Even if we don't beat Forrest, which we're not expected to do, let's be fair, at this point of the season, and we just we just want to see players sort put in 100% effort in in in sort of the the few games we sort of have left now in in the Premier League season. and then And then obviously we've got some majorly important games in in Europe coming up. And I think...
00:27:28
Sam Brady
That's sort of where where we we should sort of focus our attention now in sort of, OK, we need to sort of focus ah on Forrest and the Premier League.
00:27:39
Sam Brady
But if we can at least sort of win a bit of silverware this season, win the Europa League and and get back into Champions League football, which a club like Manchester United should be playing in, I think that will sort of give us a silver lining to this season. Yeah.
00:27:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Absolutely. And hopefully it's a push on for better things. But as you said, we're approaching an international break. So let's hope nobody gets injured on international break.
00:28:05
Sam Brady
Yeah.
00:28:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
