echo_blades: I've been all right, I guess, you know, if I'm going to being completely honest, which I guess that's pretty much the only thing I'm good at.

echo_blades: I'm I feel like shit. I don't know. I'm not feeling it these days. It's been a ah man, the ah

echo_blades: The events from last week are not subsiding. subsiding um It's a real bummer. And so much that it was really hard for me to kind of connect with all the other bad shit that was happening, you know, um I had to remind myself to be to be grateful that I have what I have. But i yeah, I'm.
echo_blades: I'm just not it. You know, the, uh, the challenges in, in one's head sometimes are, um, an extremely tall mountain to climb. And I accept that and I will just keep on climbing and and we'll get through it. So that's where I'm at. I got zero done in the shop. Um, at a short week. Um, so not, not much I could do about that. And, uh, I have.
echo_blades: to do some incredible stuff here in the next two days somehow.
echo_blades: But I'm not, I'm just, I'm not going to beat myself up about it. and I'm just gonna, I'm just gonna go. So no.
tyrellknifeworks: No, you totally should not wreck yourself trying to, what you're trying to work on your you're build for Maker Camp, right?
echo_blades: Yeah, which is so, so close, but, you know, it's just, it is what it is.
tyrellknifeworks: Hey.
echo_blades: I'm going to, everything's going to be all right. I'm just only sharing because I know somebody out there somewhere maybe goes through similar things and, uh, you know, it's all right.
echo_blades: And you just got to be sitting your feelings and that's okay. Sometimes, you know, there's for all the good, there's these times and. We just push through and ah everything will work itself out.
tyrellknifeworks: That's right.
echo_blades: And, uh, that's, that's what's happening. I hope you you had a fantastic way. I didn't talk to you at all. so
tyrellknifeworks: I saw your posts on on the socials, having fun in in the the Disney.
echo_blades: Yeah, I mean, on the upside, there was that I got the the opportunity to spend a good weekend with with my daughter and in Disneyland. We had some fun. And it was. a Long story short, the. All of the fun, all of the good. You know, you still ah that place is is the happiest place on Earth, right? And it's kind of hard to be bummed, but Yeah, I will just share that it was, it was difficult sometimes when you saw, um, groups of family with their, their matriarch, you know, helping.
tyrellknifeworks: Sure.
echo_blades: And and it was just like, just gut punch after gut punch.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.
echo_blades: And, but, uh, we had a good time. We enjoyed our, we'd enjoyed it.
tyrellknifeworks: Was it just you and your daughter?
echo_blades: It was just me and my daughter. Yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: Oh, let's see I see. I actually thought the family was gone. I didn't realize it was just the two of you.
echo_blades: No. Yeah, that but that's what was like super special. Like I was sharing with somebody, you know, when you're 22 year old, asked to go have a weekend with just you. Cause we used to do this all the time when we were younger, when they were, the kids were younger, especially my girls, I'd take them on operation, daddy, daughter dates.
echo_blades: And I would take take just them and shopping, or i we'd go to Disneyland, or we'd go do something. and you know But time flies, man. And now they're older. So I jumped at the opportunity and um tried to make the best of it, even though we're both kind of you know dealing with what we' we're dealing with. so But it was cool, man. I will say that no matter what is going on, ah there is always a massive massive amount of dopamine when I'm standing in the beignet line in the French Quarter.
echo_blades: I just am filled with giddiness and and all the happiness in the world.
tyrellknifeworks: Not the rides, the beignet line.
echo_blades: Well, the beignet is, I mean, that is, that is the business for me, ah getting in there and they're like, I don't even know why they sell three packs.
tyrellknifeworks: I feel you. I feel you.
echo_blades: Who the hell's buying a three pack?
echo_blades: So.
tyrellknifeworks: ah I once did ah a cooking class with a bunch of friends, and it was um like a New Orleans theme. And for dessert, we made beignets. I swear to God. i I ate like, I think it was 21 of them.
echo_blades: God. Yeah, I'm kind of bummed you didn't hit 22 cause those things.
tyrellknifeworks: My wife would know cause she was counting and making fun of me, but yeah.
echo_blades: That's funny.
tyrellknifeworks: One of my favorite desserts.
echo_blades: Yeah, they're, they're, they're good. So that was, that was fun. And then I did a, uh, you know, the rides there, there are either you're into it or you're not right.
echo_blades: They're not the most thrilling rides in the world, but I did do.
tyrellknifeworks: What? like That's blasphemy. How could you even say that? That's some of the best rides in the world.
echo_blades: Well, they are, but do you tell somebody that i wants to go to like Magic Mountain or those grill coasters and stuff like that?
tyrellknifeworks: Oh yeah, but that's, I saw that.
echo_blades: um But that Incredicoaster, I did a live video um of us going on that. I've done that before. Yeah, that was that was pretty fun.
tyrellknifeworks: I saw that. I am slightly annoyed that they took away all the California theme. Um, I liked it better when there's California screaming and everything was like California themed.
tyrellknifeworks: I'm kind of annoyed that they redid the, uh, the Monterey area.
echo_blades: Yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: Now it's like the big hero six thing that nobody ever saw. Like that movie didn't even do that well. And sometimes like, yeah.
echo_blades: Yeah. San Fran, Yokeo and like, yeah, they've they've done something. But I mean, it's, it's not about us that live here, you know, the, the other people and the and the money is, is all in there.
tyrellknifeworks: I know.
echo_blades: There was some, it's different. It's different from the last time I was there. I will say though, that the, the rise of the resistance was fucking cool.
tyrellknifeworks: Is that the first time you've been on it?
echo_blades: That's the first time I've been on it. When I, last time I was there, the, the millennial Falcon thing was just barely brand new. So I hightailed it over there first thing. And I was like, there's nobody here. Like what's going on?
echo_blades: Like I was surprised.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.
echo_blades: And then we look back and I was like, what is this ride? She said, Oh, you haven't done that one. I'm like, no, it was, it was fucking cool.
tyrellknifeworks: It is, it is by far the best one at the park right now.
echo_blades: I like, yeah, the way they kind of like shift you, like being the way they utilize you being in line.
tyrellknifeworks: Um,
echo_blades: Cause you're still in the queue when you're going through like these different phases.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, they're they stay in character very well.
echo_blades: Yeah, it's pretty good. I was, I was impressed.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, and we hit that at like 945 or something really late and like it was at the point where like you had to pay $27 to go on that ride during.
echo_blades: That is, that is the fucking way it is all the time. I didn't, I was mind blown.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, but. Go there right before it closed and we did it right after it had rained so everybody left the park.
echo_blades: Oh, okay.
tyrellknifeworks: And, uh, we get, well, there was no wine and we got on freight.
echo_blades: Oh, that's cool. Yeah. We had to spend the money that and for the, the cars, right.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.
echo_blades: It's a, it's a racket.
tyrellknifeworks: I've never been on cars every, every time I go on cars, it breaks down.
echo_blades: Oh shit.
tyrellknifeworks: Like the two times I've been in line for that, it was broken down.
echo_blades: That sucks.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.
echo_blades: Yeah, but it's a trip that, that place is a money racket. yeah I mean, I, I hate it, but I just, you respect the hustle.
tyrellknifeworks: Of course.
echo_blades: Cause those guys, they've got it figured out, man.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.
echo_blades: They just hand over fist.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah. And it's like every year they come up with some new way to make money on something that was never monetized before.
echo_blades: It's incredible.
tyrellknifeworks: Right?
echo_blades: It's incredible. It's incredible. Like, uh, yeah, probably next year.
tyrellknifeworks: Like pretty soon they're going to charge you for how much air you breathe at the park.
tyrellknifeworks: But I do love it.
echo_blades: Yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: It is the best theme park, but
echo_blades: Yeah, I i we we are a family that has enjoyed Disney for a long we've been like eight, ah seven Disney cruises and we did a lot of that stuff. So good times.
tyrellknifeworks: Well, Kim's birthday is May the sixth, so we're going the weekend of May the fourth next year.
echo_blades: Nice. Nice.
tyrellknifeworks: So the whole Star Wars thing.
echo_blades: Yeah, it was cool.
tyrellknifeworks: It'll be crazy packed in the the Star Wars area next year.
echo_blades: It is hard to do in just one day though, each park in one day. I skimped out and didn't do the park hopper pass. So we had to like really be purposeful with our day in Disneyland to get everything done.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, we did the same thing last time in December.
echo_blades: Yeah. So we got it all done though. So it was good.
tyrellknifeworks: Good. You were there for two days or three?
echo_blades: Just two.
tyrellknifeworks: Two.
echo_blades: Yeah, I drove in on Thursday night. Took me every bit of six hours to get there. um And then, yeah, a couple of days there and then my dumb ass like I can't. ah We close, we didn't close the park down, but we I didn't get home till like midnight and then or to the hotel and then packed all my shit up and fell asleep at like twelve thirty. And then I was up at four o 'clock and I was my poor daughter. It's like, get up. Let's go. We're out of here.
tyrellknifeworks: Oh, you mean you mean Monday morning?
echo_blades: the next morning. Yeah, I slept like two or three hours and I was like, let's go because I was doing some math. Like, I mean, if you leave at like nine with the rest of the the yeah, you're not getting home till three or four, you know, so.
tyrellknifeworks: Oh, yeah, you know like.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, one hour turns into three if if you guys would have waited another two hours.
echo_blades: Yeah.
echo_blades: Yeah, so anyways, but yeah, through all the shit, ah I am. I am grateful to have been able to spend that time with with my beautiful daughter. And we had a we had a good time.
echo_blades: So.
tyrellknifeworks: How old does she know?
echo_blades: 22.
tyrellknifeworks: 22.
echo_blades: Yep.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah. My oldest is going to turn 21 in a couple of, in another week on the 14th.
echo_blades: Yeah, too fast.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, totally.
echo_blades: And that's why you're 54 dude.
tyrellknifeworks: And for the next three days, uh, we're, uh, babysitting the grandkid. Well, uh, um, My daughter's ah doing a work trip, so we're gonna have the five -year -old running around, so I'm gonna feel like I'm 80.
echo_blades: Oh, yeah. Do we do a lot of walking? Holy crap. Holy crap.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.
echo_blades: My old ass.
tyrellknifeworks: yeah
echo_blades: My hips were hurting. on but I was like, what is this? I'm like, I can't have hip hip pain now. It's just it's too good.
tyrellknifeworks: ah Yeah, the first thing I pack when I'm going to Disney is Ibuprofen now.
echo_blades: Yeah, yeah, that's a must.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.
echo_blades: But, uh, I did have some, some, like, I guess there's some things that we need to talk about. Like, uh, one of them was, is the, uh, the unfortunate, I mean, we just had the the hurricane last week and now we got another one. Just barreling right through Florida. So, you know, good vibes, prayers, positive thoughts for all the people that are in the, in the path of that one. Um, I know Brian and Brent and Travis, Florida, man, like, you know, on and on Brandon, they they're They're getting, they're about to get slammed pretty good.
echo_blades: Hopefully this thing takes a hard right. That's my thing because it's coming from the Gulf.
tyrellknifeworks: heard I'm not even sure what direction it's coming from, but...
echo_blades: It's like, I was talking to Brent earlier and he was saying like, this never happens. Like they don't really ever originate from where this one is. So it's coming from Mexico side heading East tour.
echo_blades: So it's going to slam right into Southern West Tampa Bay.
tyrellknifeworks: It's heading, yeah, because normally they're going the other way.
echo_blades: Yeah. And going, yeah. and And going up or coming from the the Caribbean and, but yeah, I know far too many, too much about hurricanes right now, but, uh, yeah.
echo_blades: So I don't know if they're going to make it up to camp this week.
tyrellknifeworks: Oh, is that what he's saying?
echo_blades: Um, yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: That, um, I mean, I've read it in your notes, but they're like, cause it's supposed.
echo_blades: Yeah. It's supposed to hit, it's supposed to hit Wednesday. And like they're talking like 15 feet surges and like all kinds of like just anomaly type things are are about to happen.
echo_blades: Um, so if they left, they drove, they would have to leave like yesterday. Cause now the, the only freeway that 75 is just a parking lot right now.
tyrellknifeworks: Hmm.
echo_blades: So it's a bummer. It's a bummer. Um, uh, like I said, just the good thoughts, but
echo_blades: Brent is, is, is the best bitch in the entire history of the whole world.
tyrellknifeworks: But...
echo_blades: Cause this fucker sends me the collab knife that we're working on all done for ready for, for my part. And, uh, I get a text message from my wife because he he was really interested in this.
echo_blades: Like, he's like, Oh, I'm sending it. You should be getting a tracking number. And I'm like, okay, cool. Thanks, man. You know, you're just sending me the knife, right? And then, uh, I talked to him a day before it came and he's like, Ooh, yeah, I just saw it. It's about to get there. I still didn't even pick up on it. My wife sends me a text message and she shows me this picture. And I'm like, this motherfucker, this dude went and the best part about it for me is that he spent his own personal dollars on this, but he bought a bunch of giants. Hey, and wrap this thing up.
echo_blades: It blazed an orange giant shit stickers all over. And I was just like, and if you guys don't know, like I despise the San Francisco giants. That is the worst team. And for me, I have some very dear friends that are, that are giants fans and, and they get a pass from me, but, uh, yeah, he, he got me pretty good.
echo_blades: ah the every Everything was wrapped in orange tape.
tyrellknifeworks: Well, but.
echo_blades: He sent me some hot sauce, the knife, he sent me a ah roll of chew too, all just covered in orange shit. I was like, you motherfucker.
tyrellknifeworks: Well, now that the A's are gone, don't you have to become a Giants fan?
echo_blades: No.
echo_blades: I'll stop watching baseball all together.
tyrellknifeworks: Why not?
echo_blades: Fuck that team. Sorry. No, it's a family show. It's not. Yeah, no, I, no, I would, if if I was to, not follow the A's anymore, I would be a Dodgers fan just because of how much I hate the Giants because that's their bitter rival.

echo_blades: It was a good break from from all the the nonsense, but
tyrellknifeworks: well that's a bummer that, uh, they may not make maker camp that, uh, that sucks.

tyrellknifeworks: Cause I know there were some plant planting some stuff and Demos and other things with the coal guys and yeah, that sucks hopefully Yeah,
echo_blades: Yeah, I told him whatever we' we'd help out if there's stuff they plan to do that because I know they send a bunch of stuff up there already. But I mean, the important stuff is that the shop and the houses and everybody's safe and yeah and all that.
tyrellknifeworks: of course, yeah Of course ah Yeah, cuz it would suck if well, when were they planning on flying out Wednesday?
echo_blades: probably Wednesday or Thursday. Yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: yeah
echo_blades: So I mean, best case scenario is like, this thing comes through.

echo_blades: Everything is decent. And the airports are still working.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.
echo_blades: And they come up like on Friday or Saturday, you know, and they catch some of it.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.
echo_blades: Yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: The, the airports, uh, still working is the operative term there because those could be.
echo_blades: yeah Yeah. Yeah. cause They're gonna have no power. No, like, oh, it's all thanks. Yeah, it's bummer.

echo_blades: But yeah, and couple that with all the other, the, the Helene stuff, you know, so heart.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, that's still ongoing and cleanup and...
echo_blades: Yeah. Heart goes out to to John for, for his loss and like, uh, you know, and primitive woodsman, I think there's so many people affected by all this crap.
echo_blades: You know, it's, it's just, it's just an absolute bummer.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah. I mean, I was talking to Kim and we're like, she's like, it's so weird. Cause like, you know, you don't think of hurricanes hitting North Carolina and Tennessee.

tyrellknifeworks: What have I been up to? um Last week, a little milestone. Last week was my Triple T number 200 episode.
echo_blades: Holy shit, you celebrated the same years old as your triple T birthday. That's awesome, dude.
tyrellknifeworks: um I can't believe I've done 200 of those Triple T videos.
echo_blades: That's amazing.
tyrellknifeworks: 200 weeks.
echo_blades: That's amazing.
tyrellknifeworks: I've probably missed maybe three weeks total ever Yeah Yeah, like coming up with 200 topics for videos that's crazy ah But anyway, yeah that
echo_blades: And that's a hats off, dude. That's a commitment doing 200 of anything. Yeah. yet Alone 200 weeks of, you know, videos and content.
echo_blades: Yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: um Yeah, it was, uh, got real pretty far into the folder build. Um, then he, then now the next one will come out this week, which will um pretty much have it done. Like the last one will just be doing like final grinding and, you know, handle prep and pretty stuff. But this week, um, on the triple T on the, the folder series.
tyrellknifeworks: Uh, we're going to be doing the lock and the detent ball, which is like the major finicky pieces that we need to make sure are perfect. So, uh, stay tuned for that on Thursday.
tyrellknifeworks: Um, I got my apocalyptic challenge build done actually almost.
echo_blades: Nice.
tyrellknifeworks: I mean, it's sitting in the coffee right now. I wanted to give it a nice overnight coffee etch. And then, uh, I mean, literally everything's done.
tyrellknifeworks: It's just assembly.
echo_blades: How much copy did you have to use?
tyrellknifeworks: half a jar. I mean, it's a pretty narrow look tall.
echo_blades: Okay. Tube. Yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah. It's a narrow tube. Um, so, um, yeah, excited to, I'm sick. I'm going to be buying a few pumpkins and, uh, doing a cut test on that may probably this week because I want to get a film this week.
echo_blades: That's cool.
tyrellknifeworks: So maybe even tomorrow, I don't know.

tyrellknifeworks: If I get bored tomorrow, I'll whip out the, over to, yeah, make my my wife mad and chop up all her pumpkins she bought.

tyrellknifeworks: Actually, I was gonna, I was gonna carve them first with like big, like, ooh, where like, ah kind of faces on them before I decided to chop them up.

tyrellknifeworks: Um, but I'm glad to have that thing done. Uh, and now actually I'm just trying to, I've got that big commission that I'm going to start, uh, next week when we're back from maker camp.

tyrellknifeworks: Uh, yeah, the dual Katana, the dual kumai Katana build.
echo_blades: boy.
echo_blades: Nice.
tyrellknifeworks: Um, so that one's going to take a while. So I'm just trying to get through all of the, um, I had six of those sand tigers. I was finishing.
tyrellknifeworks: I had those chef knives. And I have a W2 Hunter. I may push to get done for Maker Camp. He treated it today.
echo_blades: Okay.
tyrellknifeworks: So I got three days. Maybe I'll finish it. and But if it was this if it was a full tang, it'd be no problem. But it's a hidden tang, so it needs a guard.
echo_blades: Hmm.
tyrellknifeworks: So that is the issue.
echo_blades: Right.
tyrellknifeworks: So if I get a bug out my ass, then I'll finish that. It all depends. It's got a hormone on it. So it all depends how good the, if the hormone looks really nice, then I'll, I'll be motivated to finish it.
tyrellknifeworks: So yeah,
echo_blades: There you go.
tyrellknifeworks: but that you saw, I've had like, it's one of those once in a while you get, again, you get those really productive days where I've got like, you know, five irons in the fire kind of thing, a bunch of things going.
echo_blades: Right.
tyrellknifeworks: I'm doing a chef knife. I'm doing like, I'm basically finishing all these builds. I finished a sand tiger today. I finished a chef knife today. I was working on the W two Hunter. I was working on the apocalyptic challenge build. And so it's, it's nice to be at the end of a bunch of builds, you know, like when I, whenever I start to handle work and I'm starting on,
tyrellknifeworks: Like sand, I know like when I'm sanding a handle, it's like imminent. I'm almost done. And that gets me motivated to just get it out of the way and finish it. So.
echo_blades: I get that. I get that a hundred percent. But yeah the difference is you get, make progress on those five things. I tend to think about five things a lot and get a little bit done on all of them. So.
tyrellknifeworks: You know, and and this kind of relates to my my maker spotlight for today, but I'm getting a little antsy that I haven't like I want to do a really nice Damascus. I haven't done a really nice Damascus build since. um I mean, I did the dagger, but that was relatively simple Damascus like i haven't done anything really fancy since the Viking sword.
echo_blades: Right.
tyrellknifeworks: Um, and I've just seen all these like Damascus that I want to do. And then I've got, you know, all these commissions lined up and I kind of made the decision over the last week or so that I'm going to shut the commissions down. I'm i'm going to finish the ones that I have that I've promised. Um, but then I'm just gonna, I'll take commissions if you want to do, and I'll have a list.
tyrellknifeworks: actually got this idea from, I was listening to um the guys over the pond there in um for the Forgecast, the guys in Australia. And he's saying, yeah, he only takes commissions ah that are specific. they had um They had their old host on. I forget their guy's names. But he basically he basically said, look, I'll take commissions, but only if it's these. And he'll list out specific builds that he wants to do. um Like any Damascus buoy knife, any dagger. Like if you want a Damascus dagger, then let's talk. Like that's for me, that's what I would do. A buoy knife, a dagger,
tyrellknifeworks: maybe a European sword, anything else, stop asking me for katanas. Like I am after this, these two builds, I am not doing a katana for a long time. I am like OD'd on katanas.
tyrellknifeworks: So that's the way I'm gonna approach things. Because I wanna do, I wanted to make what I wanna make and just sell those. And i'm I'm actually sick of now that I've done,
tyrellknifeworks: I'm at the point where I've got all this by the end of the week or end of next week, I'll have all the stock that I want to have for the website for Christmas.
echo_blades: Nice. Right.

tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, yeah. And I got some classes coming up. I mean, my next one, I think I have one probably in a couple of weeks, a guy I've been talking to and then not a four day one in November.
tyrellknifeworks: um So classes will start to ramp up now that it's cooler and, you know, that'll be better doing classes when it's, you know, a hundred degrees, even 90.

echo_blades: hey God forbid I take, you know, I get hundreds of emails every day. So if I'm not there for two or three days, that's, that's a lot.
tyrellknifeworks: See my, here's what, here's what my third theory turned into. If I'm going to take time off. then I'm not just going to take two or three days or a week off. If I'm going to take time off, I'm going to make take two weeks off because you could just delete all the emails from the first week.
tyrellknifeworks: Cause if that shit didn't get handled, you know, somebody handled that. You only have to deal with the the email for the last week. So you might as well take two weeks off. That's my theory.
echo_blades: and Those are high -tech issues, man. That shit doesn't fly in construction.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, but I mean, she it can't go unhandled for two weeks. Somebody dealt with it, right?
echo_blades: yeah or they didn't and there's somebody really pissed or they're calling me while I'm gone, you know, but yeah, so I've just, but I mean, you know, just prep plan, you know, put people in place to handle all the stuff that needs to get, get taken care of.
echo_blades: And it's only a couple of days. So it's not going to be that bad, but I took a day off last week and, um,

tyrellknifeworks: Were you, at did you work today? Monday?
echo_blades: I did. Yeah.

echo_blades: No, I left the night before. I left Sunday. we we we I took off Thursday night.

echo_blades: It was there Friday, Saturday, and on Sunday, I got up. and and oh and I don't know how many hours of sleep you get. I'm like six hours tops.
echo_blades: It's kind of like my my sweet spot. um So if I go to bed at seven, at night or eight o 'clock or nine o 'clock, I'm getting up six, I don't matter what fucking day it is.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah.
echo_blades: So um but I do that for a couple weeks. And then I have one day where I'm just like, um I like recharge and catch up. But I got home around one or two.
echo_blades: And then I was asleep by like six o 'clock last night. That's like a rarity, dude. And I slept all the way through till this morning, so I still don't feel caught up. But I am dreading that red eye.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah, I broke down and I had to buy myself a a window seat because, you know, you can't just get a window seat anymore. You got to pay for one.
echo_blades: Oh, really?
tyrellknifeworks: um Well, because there's no there's no assigned seats on that flight. You get your seat at the gate, basically.
echo_blades: I guess I bought all mine because I have all my seats already. I did that right off the bat.

tyrellknifeworks: So I didn't until. My wife was like, you're crazy, you should be buying, and I'm like, fine. So I paid like 50 bucks. The important one was the red -eye there.

tyrellknifeworks: um So I paid for that one. um But on the way back, there's no seats to purchase, which I didn't get. It means all the seats are assigned, I don't know what that means, or it's not close enough or whatever.

tyrellknifeworks: so But I don't care, that's like an afternoon flight, like I'm not gonna care as much, I'll be awake for that one.

echo_blades: super, uh, productive, but I did get, um, a ah message from Kyle, um, daily. And, um, he had an interaction with somebody and I've been seeing this happen quite a, quite a bit lately where these scammers are coming up and, you know, through Instagram and, um, trying to.

echo_blades: trying to purchase a knife. ah there Their accounts look real. They have you know profiles that look like normal. ah their ah followers, sometimes, you know, they, they catch some of ah our fellow people, but basically this guy kind of reached out to him, said that he was interested in a couple of knives.
echo_blades: Kyle kind of, you know, started talking to him, telling him that he wasn't, um, he could purchase them through the website. The guy says, no, I need to do PayPal starts going through this whole thing.
tyrellknifeworks: Is he from overseas?
echo_blades: I don't know where the the guy is from. Um,
tyrellknifeworks: I had this from someone from like Barbados or something like this and same kind of thing. Wanted to buy a whole bunch of stuff off the website. It's probably the same scam.
echo_blades: Yeah, but then he's like, No, I can't buy it through the website. So send me a PayPal, and they have this interaction. And then he's like, Oh, no, the bottom. The end result was like he goes, Oh, hey, i I'm gonna overpay, but I need you to send me the difference to my PayPal account, you know, and Kyle's like, yeah, bullshit, go, go get fucked, dude. I'm not, I'm not doing that. But this account is some dude, Edward Brandon or something like that. But yeah, I mean, you guys just keep, keep up on your game and you know, don't get tooken for a ride and make sure that you know, most people are
echo_blades: are able to buy from your from a website if that's how you got your stuff set up and just make sure you you're protecting yourself and not falling for any crap.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah. that Absolutely not.
echo_blades: You know, don't give anybody any money for any reason.
tyrellknifeworks: The one that was going around last year was um someone from overseas would want to buy everything and ah they want you to pay the, they want to use their shipping guy, but you, they want you, you have to use their shipping guy.
tyrellknifeworks: So then you would have to pay all the shipping costs upfront. whatever to get a shipping label or it's bullshit um to ship all this stuff down.
tyrellknifeworks: And then you never hear from them and they get all this money for shipping. It's bullshit.
echo_blades: Yeah. Yeah. This dude says, Oh, I understand something, but yeah, I need to make an additional payment of 250, but I'm needing your full trust that once I send it, you'll send this 250 back to me immediately.
echo_blades: This guy was like, yeah, you're a scammer. Get out of here. And he's like, how dare you call me a scammer? So they're, they're getting creative at least, you know, but

echo_blades: Yeah. So I appreciate the heads up, Kyle, and and and the good service to kind of pass that forward for for other people that may come into contact with somebody with that, you know. So take their money.

And I just had a guy ask me for a commission and this is one of my red flags. When, when someone asked for a commission and they're way too specific, like this is usually a red flag of a guy I don't want to deal with. And, uh, a guy reached out to me and he wanted.
tyrellknifeworks: He wanted me to do, he goes, yeah, I want you to do this knife, but, um, but I have some very specific, whatever. I'm like, okay, I'm not really taking commissions right now, but let me know what, just in case it's something I'm interested in. And he's like, I want to, what the hell were they, uh,
tyrellknifeworks: falchions or whatever, two swords. And I want, and he was like really specific. I want the, I want the handle to be six inches and I want the blade to be this. And I want it to be 90 layers of raindrop Damascus layered with it. He will even specifically on the steel he wanted layered in this. And I'm like, dude, I'm not your guy.
echo_blades: Yeah.
tyrellknifeworks: I am not going to be you know zero creative freedom on this one.

tyrellknifeworks: That's usually a red flag for me when someone is so specific because you know they're going to be up your ass on every single detail on this knife. and

echo_blades: I'm bringing my apron because I did the that wood carving and just destroyed myself at the, uh, what is the name of that? Sabre. Sabre.

tyrellknifeworks: And well, depending on what, what suitcase or my, my apron is so heavy that I'm not going to be walking around in that thing. The leather one. I'm not wearing it. It was warm though.

echo_blades: Yeah. Oh, we're going to have fun. We're going to get after it. I hope ah the weather is going to seems like it's going to be better. So we'll be able to do some more Flint napping and freaking all the stuff that we kind of just had to huddle around and look at each other last year.

tyrellknifeworks: So we won't have, uh, cause we, there was all kinds of things we wanted to do that we just, we couldn't cause of the rain.

tyrellknifeworks: There was a bunch of demos that got shut down.

tyrellknifeworks: We had like a whole, almost a whole day that we lost power in, in some of the tents that we couldn't do anything.
echo_blades: Yeah. I'm just really looking forward to seeing everybody too and and and hanging out and having a good time.

echo_blades: So, uh, if you're within reach of it, it's not too late. I think there's, there's still availability. So go, go check it out if you can.

echo_blades: Yeah. if we can It's probably a little more, but yeah, it's about that for for two days of breakfast and dinner.
tyrellknifeworks: No, but I mean, without it just for tenting, I don't even think it's, Maybe, maybe it's two 50. I don't even think it's that much, but that includes all your meals and your tickets.
echo_blades: then Yeah. Minus lunch, right? That's breakfast and dinner for three days or two days or something like that.
tyrellknifeworks: Yeah. Yeah.

echo_blades: Yeah, it's a, it's a steal if you don't live across the country, but yeah, I'm stoked for it. And, uh, and looking forward to just getting the hell out of here and yeah.
