Introduction and Host Welcome

00:00:11
officialgspn
Welcome everyone to the daily Liverpool podcast and part of the global sports podcast network. My name is Adarsh Ramchurn and today we are looking at tactics Tuesday and reviewing some of the tactics from Liverpool's last game against Brentford, which was, like I said, on the Monday review show, a comfortable 2-0 victory. Today I'm joined by Connor Norcott. Connor, how's it going?
00:00:32
Connor
Good man. Good. I was saying to you off air that I missed a bit of the game yesterday. had I had to work, unfortunately, so I missed it. But I watched it. as I got in from work really late, maybe like midnight last night.
00:00:43
Connor
Watched the highlights as soon as I could. I had my phone on as well and worked on telling anyone that I worked with. i'm doing there I was watching bits where I could.

Missed Game and Structure Outline

00:00:50
Connor
But I caught up today and I feel good, man. I'm i'm really jealous. I'm mystic because it seemed like such a great game.
00:00:54
officialgspn
Yeah, I think it was one of those where it wasn't like one of those clock games back in the day where you missed an absolute thriller, I would say.
00:00:55
Connor
But yeah.
00:01:04
officialgspn
But I think to see us, and we're going to get into it, the style of play and how we've adapted on the slot so far, I think it was good to see that. But I'm glad you managed to catch up.
00:01:04
Connor
Yeah.
00:01:15
officialgspn
And don't worry, I won't be telling anyone at work what you've been doing. But like I said, in part one, we're going to talk more about the style of play on the slot in terms of our tactics and how we sort of set up against Brentford. In part two, we're going to look about look look at some of the key differences that we saw in the Brentford game versus the Ipswich game that we had last week. And then in part three, we're going to do a bit of a look ahead to the rest of the season and how we think we will set up, particularly given our next games against Manchester United. So how will Liverpool set up tactically in those bigger games?
00:01:15
Connor
yeah
00:01:45
officialgspn
So to start off with Connor, I think obviously, like you said, you managed to catch up with parts

Liverpool's Methodical Approach

00:01:49
officialgspn
of the game. But what did you think in terms of our style of play? I think that was the biggest thing I noticed, particularly at Anfield. We were a lot more methodical in our approach. So yeah, what were your main sort of takeaways?
00:01:59
Connor
I think I feel like I'm cheating a little bit here because I watched the pre-match interview before I saw the highlights. And I i heard Arnes Lott talk so much about control that he kept saying the word control, control, control over and over again. And then when I watched the full game today, you see that I mean listen that me and Jesse talked to maybe a few weeks ago about how what Liverpool might look like in the Premier League and will it be you know will it be similar to Pep Guardiola's team where it's a little bit more slow it's a little bit more boring. I think Liverpool looked like they were in control and there was only two real chances I saw Brentford have that looked in any way threatening and I think that's so refreshing you know
00:02:38
Connor
I loved the style of football in the club, the heavy metal football, we all loved it. But I think at times it could feel like heart and mouth stuff, it could feel really nervy. And I didn't feel that at all yesterday.
00:02:49
Connor
you know Maybe again, in hindsight, I knew Liverpool won, so I was just chilling out and enjoying the game today. But yeah, I don't know, man. How did you find it? Did you find it a bit more, did you find the pace a bit different?
00:03:00
officialgspn
It was very, you know what? because we're so used to seeing like the high energy clock football that it just felt, it felt good to watch, but also quite unusual.
00:03:00
Connor
or
00:03:11
officialgspn
Like it was really, it was just a really, and I think that's, you could tell from the atmosphere and stadium as well.
00:03:11
Connor
yeah
00:03:16
officialgspn
Like obviously watching the game, I was interested and obviously I was supporting the team, but I felt like there wasn't that, you know, end to end game that we're so used to seeing. And one thing that we kind of take advantage of or took, you know,
00:03:32
officialgspn
We just enjoy it on the clock was the fact that those end-to-end games brought so much excitement. I mean, if you think about end of last season, Aston Villa 3-3 was a game that was a nothing game, but it ended up being an absolute thriller.
00:03:40
Connor
Yeah.
00:03:43
officialgspn
So it was just, it is, like you said, it is refreshing though, to see that we're more composed and sort of, you know, restricting opposition to chances. I mean, like you mentioned, Brentford had hardly any shots on target, but in terms of like us as a threat going up the other end, what what did you make in terms of like our attacking play?

Tactical Analysis of Liverpool vs. Brentford

00:04:02
Connor
Again, I think the majority of the game, the control was so important and you saw, I don't know, maybe like several, there were probably several chances where Liverpool were maybe two or three, po maybe one or two passes, I should say, sorry, away from just carving Brentford open.
00:04:17
Connor
But it's almost like they didn't take it. They were keeping the game state and playing, keep making sure that their control was kept in the game. But it's really funny that the two main the two goals, and most of the main chances, still come from transition. So that Jota goal at first, is we're going to talk about it a little bit now.
00:04:34
Connor
I thought it was really interesting that what we saw against Ipswich last week, where Ipswich nearly scored against us, is how we scored the opening goal, all the Diaz goal.
00:04:39
officialgspn
Hmm. Hmm.
00:04:42
Connor
And again, I think we might not just step on it too much a little bit, but if but talking about Diaz too, I thought that was him you know doing his best Sadio Mane impression yesterday. He looked so dangerous and so direct and efficient, I think. I've i've heard quite a few people call his performance efficient, and I think like if he can add that to his game and add consistency to his game, that left-hand side that I think we're a little bit weak on at times so could be really, really, really special for us.
00:05:10
officialgspn
Yeah, I know it's it's interesting you touched on Lewis Day has obviously got a goal and an assist in the match on Sunday. I think very, very prominent style of play that on a slot like symposes those wingers. I think if you're looking at example and final, I know he had a Colombian winger as well in Lewis Sinistero.
00:05:27
officialgspn
So it's it's good to see that sort of similarity. And he he brought the breast out of him at final.
00:05:31
Connor
and and Yeah.
00:05:31
officialgspn
So maybe he can do the same with Lewis Diaz. And there were so many games on the, we talk about the high intensity, high energy games on the clock, but there were so many games where we had two nil wins and Manet and Salah scored those goals.
00:05:42
officialgspn
It felt very similar in that sense.
00:05:44
Connor
yeah
00:05:44
officialgspn
But it's just, yeah, like you mentioned, like we could have scored way more. We could have, you know, dominated the game and put the game to bed a lot earlier. But I think that that composure and control, maybe that's something that Sloth wants to instill in the team. like Maybe we could go for 3 or 4, but I think he wants to get that message across that, you know, let's let's keep it tight, let's not concede can see chances. And I think if I look over the last two games, we haven't conceded that many chances. from From a defensive point of view, what what do you make of how Sloth has engaged the team to make sure we're not giving up those chances?
00:06:17
Connor
Already I think I much prefer... We're going to keep talking about Klopp probably all season and probably next season too, that's what we're like. What I really like is, especially last year and maybe the year before too, Liverpool gave up the first big chance of the game all the time. How many times did you see Liverpool go 1-0 down and have to come back to get a draw or win?
00:06:39
Connor
I think we were the team last season that came back from, or that you know got three points from losing position. quite I think probably like double digits times last year.
00:06:48
officialgspn
Yeah. Yeah.

Key Player Performances

00:06:51
Connor
In this, I mean, there was only been two games, but the control and the the ability to feel comfortable on the ball and passing through the lines, I think is so important. Touch on on a little bit of, sorry, not step on what we're going to talk on at the next part of the podcast.
00:07:07
Connor
But I also think our build-up play changed a little bit from last game and I think Ryan Granbridge again was phenomenal You guys joke that I'm his number one fan and honestly that might be true. I love this guy He played so well yesterday.
00:07:19
Connor
I think tackling still a bit of an issue with for him You saw that yellow card that he he picked up Yeah, I don't know.
00:07:23
officialgspn
Yeah.
00:07:26
Connor
I think like Defending transitions is really important for us too and not getting caught out high up the pitch if we're going to play as bravely as Slott wants us to which I think we're going to do. I just think it's going to be really important to and then how keep the ball moving and keep the ball moving quickly like we did in that second half against Ipswich.
00:07:44
officialgspn
No, definitely. And that's that's a great seway that's sorry that' was a great segue into part two of the podcast where we're going to look at the the key differences that we saw between particularly the second half against Brentford and the second half at Ipswich, or overall the the both games from start to finish. But we'll be covering that after this very short break.
00:08:40
officialgspn
Amazing. So like I said, in part two, we'll be covering some of the key differences that we've seen in Liverpool's first two games of the season. Connor, I think the first thing I would like to point out is obviously the second half, we've both seen a vast improvement, not just in tempo, but I guess in chances created and intensity when it came to second half in both the Ipswich game and the Brentford game. But in terms of those key differences, what were they for you? What did you notice?
00:09:06
Connor
I think if we're going to talk a little bit about the differences first between Ipswich and Brentford, I don't think, I mean obviously we're playing at Anfield, Brentford are a very brave side the way they play the football but they were nowhere near as brave as Ipswich were on the opening day or their opening a game of the season I should say.
00:09:23
Connor
they sealed I think Brentford still kind of went man to man at some points like Ipswich did but what's really interesting is that
00:09:26
officialgspn
And.
00:09:29
Connor
We've seen, and we've talked about it for weeks now on the podcast, where Liverpool are going to build up with these four center or four players in defence and two double pivots in midfield. That didn't really happen yesterday. It looked almost like once Trent had pushed up, it looked like a back three of Robertson, Van Dijk and Canate, and then you know a single pivot and Ryan Gravenberts playing with his back to goal.
00:09:52
Connor
And you see like quite a few times where Van Dyke or Kanate passes through the lines. I think both of those players were in the top five for touches less or in yesterday's game or Sunday's game I should say. I just think it's really interesting and that ability to be flexible with the opposition is going to be so important. Obviously Brent for play a different system to Ipswich.

Varying Tactics Against Different Teams

00:10:12
Connor
And I think, I don't know if you saw the interview between Jamie Carragher and Arne Slott, where he was saying, yeah, you saw it. And he was saying that Thomas Frank told him that, ips which oh sorry, that Brentford play a back three against bigger squads.
00:10:18
officialgspn
Yeah.
00:10:25
Connor
They did that against Liverpool. And also, I just think it was interesting that that, you know, they're able to keep the width and keep that central focus, but they build up completely differently.
00:10:35
Connor
And they also changed by the press a little bit too, which I'm sure we'll talk about. Yeah, I don't know. I think if if the opening game for us was was slot passing this first test, this being able to you know get a 2-0 win at home, a pretty standard comfortable 2-0 win at home, and also you know to have those players look like they're really hungry this year, that really excites me, man. I don't know about you.
00:10:58
officialgspn
Yeah, and no, it does. It it that definitely does excite me. I think we you touched on Grafenberg and I cover covered that on the Monday review show, like he's just growing in confidence and I think he's making that position his own. I know there's been talk of getting a number six and with a few days left of the transfer window, we're probably going to hear more stories of potential number sixes that we're linked with, but I think.
00:11:17
officialgspn
I think we're forgetting that he he was he was one of the best young players at Ajax playing in that deep-lying position. like A lot of European clubs were looking at him and obviously he made that move to Bayern Munich which didn't really work out in the end but he's got that within him. He's been brought up to play you know total football from a young age and I think he can add a a lot going going forward this season and we saw that. and I think one of the other players I covered on the Monday review show was Subozla, who I thought was was brilliant in sort of retrieving the ball. I think if we're looking at those key differences again from the Ipswich game, I think that intensity in getting back to to cover from counter-attacks, I definitely saw was a big difference. I don't know if you if you noticed that as well, Connor.
00:11:56
Connor
Yeah, I think Subboz, Lian, Michaelis are both really great in winning their duels and that was something that Slott touched on in our first game where first half against Ipswich, you know, we weren't really there to win the battles. I think Ipswich's press maybe overwhelmed us a little bit.
00:12:11
Connor
But I think it was clear from this that like no mistakes are going to be made here. Make every pass count, make sure the tackles happen. I think Subuzzly was maybe like two or three tackles succeeded against Brentford and also five blocks. He was just everywhere and he played 90 minutes again, which I love to see. He's a player that I think maybe played a little bit too much last year. I think that's why he got some of those injuries.
00:12:36
Connor
I'm not too sure where the rotations start to happen. Maybe it's when those European games come in. But he would be, you know, if not first name on the team sheet, he's definitely in the top four or five of who you want to definitely start against Manchester United on on Sunday, you know.
00:12:51
officialgspn
Yeah, no, definitely. I think he's he's he's definitely a shoe in to start out that match for sure. And I think we're but looking at the blueprint of sort of that midfield free. we're going to be It's to be very important, given and the fixtures that are coming up. And i think i think I think I'm right in saying that Liverpool achieved a 92% pass completion rate yesterday, which is one of the highest I think we've ever had in the Premier League.
00:13:11
Connor
Yeah.
00:13:11
officialgspn
probably I think since around 2003. So I think that midfield has obviously got a big big role to play in in ensuring that we're keeping the ball but also keeping you know keeping things ticking and not making silly passes. or I think were we're seeing we're not being as direct as we used to be. Having said that, both like you mentioned Connor, both our goals were kind of on those transitions and directly playing it as forward as possible.
00:13:33
officialgspn
I think one thing I wanted to touch on as well, I think along the big differences, I think Ipswich and Brentford both had physical presences and obviously were a threat from set pieces. How do you how do you think we've been you know coping with those set pieces and what what defense from a defensive structure point of view, what what's those key differences that you've seen in the two years?
00:13:50
Connor
i think I think Brentford are one of those teams that, I can't remember the name of their set piece coach who's just moved to Chelsea, but everyone talked about how creative Brentford were with set pieces and they're always that they they always do something new and something different. I think yesterday looked a bit more standard, maybe that is because that set piece coach is left.
00:14:09
Connor
But that that in the first half that Norguard had, he kind of glances wide. That's i mean that's a goal, a better player score, and I think that would have levelled just before half-time.
00:14:22
Connor
I kind of want to see what that looks like for us, you know what I mean? I was chatting to a friend yesterday about the game, and another Liverpool fan, a friend of mine from back home, and he said that he just wants to see what we're like once we go 1-0 down and how are we cope with that. I don't want to jinx it. I hope we don't see that against United on Sunday, you know? But defensively, I think we look good, especially from set pieces, and I think Canate is a big big part of that. Quite a few clearances yesterday.
00:14:48
Connor
I know they said that Kwanza picked up a slight injury and he was okay to play. He just didn't train much last week.

Liverpool's Defensive Strategies

00:14:54
Connor
But if Kanate can i take and stay fit, he partners Van Dijk for me. you know I think those progressive passes from centre-back are really important for us and I'm sure you know with coach and Kanate will be able to do that. He's a great player on the ball. He might just not be as good as Kwanza.
00:15:08
Connor
But his aerial presence is so important and so is Van Dyke, you know, I think we looked really good. I also think, you know, having Ryan Graven Burch in that defensive midfield slot, another six foot two plus center midfielder really helps.
00:15:21
Connor
I think we looked good. And andnna also, I'm so glad that Alison is going to be staying with us for a while.
00:15:24
officialgspn
Yeah.
00:15:25
officialgspn
Yeah.
00:15:26
Connor
I don't know if you saw his comments because he's just like,
00:15:29
Connor
He wins you points and wins you matches on his own. And I think that the chance Brentford had in the second half from a wide free kick might have been a corner actually, or a wide free kick. He just saves it so easily and makes it look so good, but a lesser keeper might make a bit of a meal out of that, you know?
00:15:44
officialgspn
Yeah, it's interesting you're covering a first-league Canatae, I think, also saw a stat that he won. I think 100% of his aerial duels, which is very, very impressive given we're playing Brentford.
00:15:51
Connor
Yeah.
00:15:55
officialgspn
And like you mentioned, like he's got that physical presence. But one thing I personally really like about Canatae is his ability to cover that right channel when Trent vacates that space. I think he's probably the best in the league in terms of covering that that space and being able to sweep up
00:16:03
Connor
Mm hmm.
00:16:08
officialgspn
any sort of attacks that are are down that side. And I agree. I think he'll be my, my starting center back. I'll obviously want to do see Kwanzaa playing getting minutes this season. Cause I think he is, like we said, a huge prospect that we have on our book sellable. But when you've got Kanate and Van Dyke physical presence is in the team. And I think I mentioned on the Monday review,
00:16:26
officialgspn
You've got so Boslai six foot two, Grafenberg six foot three. We were starting to see a team that's physically imposing as well. And I think that's maybe something that we didn't really see last season in our starting 11. I think in our midfield of Endo, McAllister, Elliott at times is quite diminutive. So it's good to see that, you know, we've, we could have that imposing presence on teams. And like you mentioned, Alison definitely staying for at least the next few seasons. And I think.
00:16:50
officialgspn
It's funny, actually, we haven't seen Alison as busy as as we usually do. And I think that's probably why why we're so used to to to singing his praises, because he's always busy, he's always got something to do.
00:16:54
Connor
Yeah.
00:16:59
officialgspn
But in these last, season again, not to jinx it, in these last two games, he's been fairly quiet and not too busy. But in part three, we're going to cover the next game, or which will which will be Manchester United and looking ahead how tactically we could be setting up against Manchester United, who obviously see lost 2-1.
00:17:15
officialgspn
to Brighton on the weekend. A couple of us on the day, Liverpool very happy about that. So hopefully we can inflict their second defeat of the season on Sunday. But we'll be covering that and some of the tactics ahead of that game after this very short break.
00:17:50
officialgspn
So looking ahead to part three, which we're covering and looking ahead to the Manchester United game and some of the tactics that we think we will see deployed by Liverpool.

Preview of Liverpool vs. Manchester United

00:18:00
officialgspn
Connor, in terms of, I think let's look at from an attacking point of view. I think we've covered a lot of the sort of defensive style of play, but where do you think tactically as we set up so far this season, do you think we'll be the main threats when we're looking ahead to not just Manchester United, but I think some of the bigger teams in the league that we we will be playing over the course of the season, where do you think we'll be able to offer that threat?
00:18:21
Connor
I think if we're going to talk generally, I'm not too sure because some of the teams set up a bit differently. I think Arsenal and City are quite similar in how they they attack, you know, but I'm really, really interested in how we're going to play against United. If we can talk about that a little bit first, because they've changed how they play, you know, I think once they got that that great result in the FA Cup final against City, I think they they played without a striker and they kind of compact the midfield a bit.
00:18:49
Connor
They did that again against Brighton. I'm not too sure if they did it in the first game, I didn't watch them. I think the Brighton game, they looked pretty good. Like I think defensively they're a bit shaky still. Once Mathias still it's properly so set or settled, I should say. I think they could be a bit, a bit scary of for an opposition to play. But I'm, I'm curious because if they're trying to pack that midfield and condense it and Liverpool are so dangerous when they transition through midfield, it's going to be a bit of a tactical battle between the two Dutchmen, I think.
00:19:18
Connor
I'm not too sure. and Normally you see there are players for Liverpool who always have great games against United and I'm scared to talk about it in case we jinx it. Normally Salah plays well. Those wide players are so important and those runs from out to in and into out that they made against Ipswich also made against Brentford. I thought Diaz was phenomenal, phenomenal the other day.
00:19:38
Connor
and He could be really important, but but that battle against Diogo Dallo, who he looks like he's in good form, is going to be really interesting interesting. I'm not too sure where it's going to be. I think that midfield, whoever wins that midfield is going to be so important. And whether we see Trent invert or not, hopefully Kanate stays fit, like you said, to cover those channels. How did you find Trent playing yesterday, by the way, if we can talk about that a little bit too? Because I think he'll be really key against United.
00:20:02
officialgspn
Yeah, I think, well, I just cover on on the Monday review show as well, like his ability and Robertson's ability to you know play play in those half spaces and sort of prevent those counter-attacks from a defensive point of view.
00:20:12
officialgspn
But, I mean, we all know what we can't we what we're getting from Trent going forward and that our passing ability.
00:20:16
Connor
Yeah.
00:20:17
officialgspn
I think One thing that's going to really be interesting as well, I think if he's able to occupy that space in midfield and come in in in that inverted position, if he will add to that, you know, midfield, that box that you said that Manchester United saw, like they like to pack the midfield, would adding Trent also pack the midfield, but also offer you that out ball when you need to go out wide, switch it to Diaz, for example, or Robertson on the other side, or play that killer pass through the middle of the pitch, through on goal to Salah, for example.
00:20:39
Connor
Yeah.
00:20:46
officialgspn
so I think you're going to see Trent occupy those those half spaces, but also i won't be surprised if he's actually going to stay out a bit more wider. So he has that most more of that space where he can, you know, play those killer passes.
00:20:58
officialgspn
So i I'll be very interested to see what you.
00:21:00
Connor
i'm gonna I'm going to probably jinx it again. So if we get beat 4-0, guys, I'm really sorry. But again, I i watched United the other day. I thought Marcus Rashford was horrible. And if he plays on that left wing, who you know he normally actually plays quite well against Trent.
00:21:10
officialgspn
Yeah.
00:21:14
Connor
I think they've got quite a nice battle, those two. I think that'll be really interesting. But Slott was asked yesterday in his post-match on Sky. what he like I think it was actually a character who asked him about Trent and his position and how influential he is in terms of the build-up play.
00:21:29
Connor
And he said something like, well, we don't want him always playing a midfield because he can play those great passes. And we don't always want him out wide because he can play great crosses, but we want something in the middle.
00:21:38
officialgspn
Mm.
00:21:38
Connor
And I think those half spaces, like you talked about, are going to be so crucial. And it's whether or not our full backs are able to step in at the right time or step out at the right time, whether it's you know going forward, stepping in to help the midfield, whether it's on defense, stepping out to maybe like double up on the wings because United are really quick, and they're a really good transition team too.

I think they might not be as clinical as us, but they've got players that can really damage it. And I thought Ahmad Diallo looked really good too. He plays on the right. I just think it's going to be really interesting.
00:22:08
Connor
And I think we owe them for that that horrible game we had in the cup last year, because that still hurts, man. And I'm watching it with my best friend next weekend.
00:22:14
officialgspn
Yeah.
00:22:15
Connor
He's a massive United fan. So i'm I'm stressed, man. I really am.
00:22:19
officialgspn
Yeah, it's definitely our first big test on the slot. And I think it's gonna it's definitely going to show us you know where we're at in the season and where where we can go moving forward.
00:22:22
Connor
Yeah.
00:22:28
Connor
Mhm.
00:22:29
officialgspn
I think just to cover, I think Diallo and Rashford as wingers, I think one thing that we saw especially last season was the counter-attacks where they they hurt us. So one thing I'm looking forward to seeing is how we deal with those.
00:22:39
officialgspn
And I think we've been better in those first two games.
00:22:40
Connor
Mhm.
00:22:42
Connor
Me too.
00:22:42
officialgspn
So how does, like, for example, Sub-Ozalai and Gravenberg cover that ground? How does Trent and Alexander Arnold and Robertson cover those spaces so the counter-attacks aren't as prominent? So I think we'll have i think definitely think we'll have a lot more control in the game.
00:22:55
officialgspn
It's just if we can nullify Manchester United's attack and and ensure that we're clinical at the other end. Because I remember, like you mentioned, that game last season, the amount of chances we had in that game was, I mean, it was one of those games where I was cursing Nunes.
00:23:05
Connor
Yeah.
00:23:09
officialgspn
There was a lot of those last season, but it was one of those games where, you know, we had to make sure that we we we killed we killed the game, but we didn't do it. And in the cup, if you don't do that, you're going to ruin your mistakes.
00:23:20
officialgspn
So yeah, we need to get them back for for for those games last season.
00:23:22
Connor
I agree.
00:23:24
officialgspn
Maybe another four, or five, six, seven. you know But yeah, in terms of tactics and probably one of the last questions, Connor, where do you think the game will be won and lost if you're looking at a specific area of the pitch? And yeah, what what where do you see that that game you know really shaping up?
00:23:45
Connor
We keep talking about jinxing it, but I get so nervous about these games because I've got so many United fans as friends, you know. I think where Liverpool are really strong is both boxes. I think having players like Salah, Jota, Diaz when he's on form, Nuna is when the games go in his way, it can be really dangerous, even Gackpo too.
00:24:04
Connor
We're so good in both boxes whether it's scoring goals or defending them and I think that's reunited a really weak. I think if their ability to like pack the midfield is one thing and their ability to transition is one thing but I don't think they're a clinical team at all. I think that that and center forward they signed Joshua Xerox he might cause us some issues because He looks a little bit Firmino-esque, where he's not a nine, he's not a 10, he kind of just plays and links play. That could cause us out or cause us problems with defenders coming out. I think the midfield's gonna be really tight, and I think those wing positions are gonna be battles all day, but I just think there's something about the control that we're gonna have.

Match Predictions and Final Thoughts

00:24:42
Connor
I think Liverpool look like a proactive team, and Man United are a reactive team, you know what I mean? they They rely a bit more on the transition. I don't think we're going to, and hopefully that gives us the edge.
00:24:54
Connor
But United do OK in those big games against City, and I think that you know our performance was a little bit City-esque, if I can say that, against Brentford. There was lots of control, lots of possession, lots of pulling players from the opposition one way or another. I think the midfield is going to be key, but I don't know. so I think as soon as the ball gets to Salah, let's expect fireworks, you know?
00:25:15
officialgspn
Yeah, no, definitely. Let's expect fireworks, hopefully from a local point of view, fireworks to take us potentially to the top of the league, depending on how gold difference scores. Like I said, it could be four or five, six or seven. Thank you, Connor, for your insights on Type Six Tuesday. And tomorrow we will have Wildcard Wednesday. We'll be coming some of the transfer news.
