And that's that Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are close to signing new two-year deals at Liverpool. That's according ah to the Times. Obviously, Paul Joyce, a very reliable source throughout Liverpool's recent transfers, um I don't know how far he goes back, but from my experience with following him on Twitter and threads, he has generally been spot on.

Fabrizio Romano also uses him as a source for his Liverpool information. um But it seems like they are set to sign new terms through 2027. So that's broken over these last couple of hours.

Trent's already out the door, it seems like. It seems like he's probably going to go to Real Madrid. ah He'll be a part of their team next season. Conor Bradley will rise through the ranks. Maybe a Scottish fella, what's his name? Calvin Ramsey could join that team.

position for backup. If he comes back from his loan, um, there was talk about Ben Doak being the next starter next season, which I just find absolutely insane. Uh, Harvey Elliott and Chiesa were heavily rumored ah to fill that void, but it just doesn't seem like anyone can really replace that sort of goal threat that seller, uh, poses on the right-hand side. He occupies that space so well. I don't know.

I thought Trent was out of the door, ah but it seems like, and this is what it feels like knowing FSG, they have ah taken the money from Trent's ah salary and put it towards keeping Van Dijk and Salah for next season. and So I think it was a but a case of,

Okay, Trent's on his way out. Let's wait until it seems like it's going to happen. And let's offer Salah and Van Dijk some new contracts. We know the talks have been happening a lot recently. They've been asked about it a lot in a interviews. There was that talk about Salah outside of the stadium, outside Anfield.

after a match midway through the season where he was asked about it. He was saying, well, I want to stay. It's up to FSG sort of thing. And um there was a lot of criticism for him for that because he was trying to sort of play the mind games and really prove his worth and prove that he deserved a higher salary because he he deserved any numbers he wanted.

And that was the general feel around Liverpool for a long time. um Now it seems like he's staying. Now it seems like Van Dijk staying. And it's just it's just exactly what we need.

Um, especially if we are going to get rid of loads of forwards next season. I mean, Gakpo's the only one that we knew was staying because it seems like Jota might leave. And if if we are going to have a rebuild next season, and then we need players who can still win us matches and who can still turn up for the big occasions and players who know the club so well and have been part of this leadership team that they seem to have there.

It almost feels ridiculous ah to be saying that when he's had such a great career with Liverpool. um We've seen how good he is at scoring, but he's had very inconsistent performances since coming back. He got that great goal against Everton, but he hasn't really been the same Diogo Jota that we all know and love. and Chiesa is the one that breaks all of our hearts, I'm we just haven't seen him play enough. And whenever he has played, he's looked so good.

I just hope we keep him. Even if it's out on loan, that's fine. I'll take that at the very least, as long as there's no option to buy. I just want to see Chiesa, a man with so much talent and a man with so much promise um and a great track record, be a part of this future.
