Let's go down to our presenter and listen with an open heart and an open mind. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. This is Evangelist Alfreda Stoner.
Speaker: And we want to thank you for joining us again for the eighth Grace Talk podcast. Grace Talk number eight. We appreciate you. I want to encourage you today and thank God for your
Speaker: coming that you should seek God for more, seek God for more. And what I'm convinced of is that there are many who are in churches over every weekend who talk to God, who sing to God, who sing about God, who talk about God, but don't really know God or have a relationship with the Lord.
Speaker: And I want to encourage you that in reality, a lot of people are empty and void of the God that they should be serving. And I understand that because I was once at that place. I had to ask the question even in myself.
Speaker: Lord, isn't there more to serving you than this? That was when I began my spiritual search to seek God and began to know more of God. And I just want you to know that God loves you, God loves you, and he desires to have a relationship with you, his children. If we read in the scripture in John,
Speaker: uh the third chapter verse 16 a very familiar scripture it says for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish
Speaker: but have everlasting life. It's very familiar to many people to understand that God does love his creation. He does love his creation, so much so that he gave us an opportunity to be able to get close to him. God loves you. I want to convince you of that. And when you believe in Jesus, you have an opportunity for eternal life.
Speaker: but you again must seek Him for that intimate relationship with Him. We all need to have an intimate relationship with the Lord and Christ has been given His blood was shed that we might be able to do just that. If we look at Matthew the 11th chapter,
Speaker: started in around verse 28. It says this, come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Amen. He's saying come to him because the labor of this world is heavy.
Speaker: It's heavy. Amen. So we want to make sure that we are in the Lord so that we don't have to bear these heavy burdens. He continues in verse 29 to say, take my yoke upon you and learn of me. This is Christ talking and he's saying that put down those heavy labors and laden
Speaker: labors and he's the God that's able to give you rest. He says, take my yoke upon you for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest unto your souls for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Yes, there is
Speaker: Amen, a burden that we carry in serving the Lord because the world definitely does not care for those always that serve the Lord. It does not. And it is a burden, but it's a light burden because he's there to bear it with us. Christ is looking for those who are burdened by this world.
Speaker: And He desires to take that heavy burden off of you. He desires that we seek Him and learn of Him, how to love Him. Amen. And loving Christ is something that we do not just say, but it is something that we do.
Speaker: So we thank God. We thank God for this great opportunity and privilege to love Him. Amen. The world has made this a hard task by saying that no one can be holy. No one can be perfect. No one can live.
Speaker: a sinless life, but Christ has given us that great opportunity. God has called us to do just that, and he can require this of us because he understands that those who want to be in a relationship with him, he is the power that is able to allow us to do it. He is the power that will work within us to do just that. If we look at Philippians,
Speaker: The second chapter in verse 13, he tells us just this. This is for it is God, which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. So when we submit our lives and seek him for more and surrender ourselves to him,
Speaker: He is able to live in us. He is able to work through us to do those things that please Him. He will come into you and make His abode with you. Christ will do just that, and He and the Father will abide within you. Remember, it is God's desire to have His children close to Him. I encourage you, do just that. God bless you.
Speaker: This concludes our segment. We pray in the hope that what you just heard blesses and encourages you. Please join us next time on Grace Talk. Until then, God speed.
