Reflecting on Personal Blessings

00:01:22
Speaker
know Today I was thinking and pondering my life and blessings of God and all that has transpired. And I just had to come to the conclusion that God is good.
00:01:38
Speaker
ah You know, God is really, really good. And he's been really, really good to me. And if he's been good to me, then I have no doubt in my mind that he's also been really, really good to you.
00:01:54
Speaker
You know, it's not just about the things that he has done. And he's done some amazing things, clothes on our backs, and food on our tables, homes and material things that we've obtained. And he's blessed us with here in this life. But um even salvation.
00:02:15
Speaker
salvation, deliverance, and the Holy Ghost, the the transformative power that is manifested and taking place in our lives. And it really comes from not just what he does, ah but God's goodness really speaks to um who he is. You know, David said in Psalm 100, he For the Lord is good and his mercy is everlasting and his truth endureth forever.
00:02:49
Speaker
And when I think about the goodness of God, um I think about um all of the many ah blessings and um all of the things that he has bestowed upon me over the course of my life.

Trusting in God's Consistent Goodness

00:03:05
Speaker
um And I think about um because he's so good, ah then I have a responsibility ah and a desire really to respond to that goodness.
00:03:19
Speaker
And because he's so good, it causes me to want to trust in who he is. It causes me to want to continue to believe God, even when circumstances are hard um or even when life situations may seem difficult. It's in God that we can put our trust in because he's so good to us. He's so good to us that he even promised that he would never leave us nor forsake us and that he would be with us always. ways So no matter what circumstance we may find ourselves in and no matter what situation that life may bring, The one thing that we can count on with God is that he's good. And because he's good, then he's consistent.
00:04:09
Speaker
And because he's consistent, then he can be trusted. Not only can we trust in his character, but we should also worship and thank him ah for his goodness.
00:04:22
Speaker
In that same Psalm, Psalm 100, David says, Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. i Serve the Lord with gladness. Come before his presence with singing. It says, Know ye that the Lord, he is God.
00:04:38
Speaker
It is he that hath made us and not we ourselves. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise. Be thankful unto him.
00:04:51
Speaker
And bless his holy name. yeah we We should thank God. We should thank God. Thinking of God's goodness, thinking about just how much he has blessed us. um There ought to be something, an excitement, a joy. There ought to be a singing and celebration of who he is when When we think about where we were and who he's made us to be, ah the proper response is to praise, to magnify and to worship him. There's no way, no way in the world that we can sit back and know and look at our lives and see how good God has been.
00:05:39
Speaker
And not honor him for his goodness.

Living Righteously as a Response to God

00:05:43
Speaker
Not only should we trust him and not only should we worship and thank him, but we should also return back to him a life that is righteous. In other words, when we have considered the goodness of God because of the gratitude that we have for the goodness that he has displayed in our lives, then we should give back to him a life that is pleasing to him.
00:06:14
Speaker
We should give back to him A sacrifice, not only of praise, which is the fruit of our lips, but the sacrifice of our life. We should live a clean and pure and holy life before him because he's been good to us. In fact, the Bible says in Romans chapter two, verse four, our sacrifice.
00:06:38
Speaker
Or despises thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth to repentance.

Celebrating God's Sacrifice and Promise

00:06:52
Speaker
It's the goodness of God that when we see just how good he was, how good was he? Well, he was so good. He was so merciful. He was so kind that while we were yet sinners, he died for us.
00:07:07
Speaker
He went to the cross and suffered shame and punishment and shed his blood so that we could the people that he created would have an opportunity to one day live with him.
00:07:19
Speaker
And if we have faith in his blood, if we have faith in his sacrifice, then the promise is sure that we have and we can obtain eternal life through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
00:07:37
Speaker
That's something to celebrate. That's something to thank God for, his goodness. He's been good to us. He's been mighty. He's holy. He's awesome. He's righteous and he's pure. It's that goodness. It's that goodness that when we see that he took on shame for us and he took on punishment for us and died as our sacrifice.
00:08:03
Speaker
that we then should change our minds about how we live, change our minds about the ah direction that we are going if it's opposite to God, and turn to him a good God who the scripture says is abundant in mercy and abundant in grace, who's loving and forgiving, and forgiving and we should live for him.

Affirming God's Goodness Through Trials

00:08:27
Speaker
God has been good, saints. God has been good. There's no doubt about it. If you're breathing today, it's because God's been good. If you have the the use of your limbs, a reasonable portion of health, it's because God has been good. I don't care what the circumstance in your life may be. I don't care what situation you may be dealing with right now.
00:08:52
Speaker
The truth of the matter is, in all of it, God has been good. I remember Paul saying, and I remember reading that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
00:09:12
Speaker
Saints, God is good. God is so, so good. He's worthy to be trusted. He's worthy to be worshiped and thanked.
00:09:25
Speaker
He's worthy of a life of righteousness and holiness in gratitude and return for the goodness that he has displayed in our lives.
00:09:36
Speaker
Don't forget how good God has been. Don't forget to honor him and bless him not just with a dance and not just with praise from your lips, but honor him with your life.
00:09:50
Speaker
Give him all of you. Give him everything he deserves. Be blessed in Jesus.
00:09:59
