Vince's Background and Career Start

00:02:28
Speaker
you shouldn't do i've been in class man yeah i see that's crazy man welcome to bigger talks man um you know before we get into like the details of what you do and how you get down like where are you from and you know how did this whole money journey start for you man um so
00:02:51
Speaker
I'm originally from Georgia.
00:02:52
Speaker
I'm a Georgia boy.
00:02:54
Speaker
You know, born and raised in the South all my life.
00:02:58
Speaker
You know, down south is like where the heart is.
00:03:01
Speaker
Right now I'm in Delaware.
00:03:03
Speaker
I came up here to play football, so that's why I'm in Delaware now.
00:03:07
Speaker
I got a full-ride scholarship at the University of Delaware, was a four-year star.
00:03:11
Speaker
They had the opportunity to play with the Eagles, all that stuff, man.
00:03:14
Speaker
Just an amazing journey.
00:03:16
Speaker
And I just thank God for like just guiding me and putting me in, you know, these different places and helping me make the decisions that I've made.
00:03:23
Speaker
So I'm really thankful for where I am right now.
00:03:25
Speaker
It's all thanks to him for, you know, for putting me, for putting me in this place.
00:03:31
Speaker
At the college though, I really had the football didn't work out, obviously.
00:03:37
Speaker
Um,
00:03:38
Speaker
I got into the financial

Early Career at Morgan Stanley

00:03:40
Speaker
industry.
00:03:40
Speaker
Okay.
00:03:41
Speaker
And, you know, I always love money.
00:03:43
Speaker
I always love talking about money and all that stuff.
00:03:45
Speaker
And I've always been the type of person to go get it and always on the weekends trying to make some money or something.
00:03:50
Speaker
So I got my degree in economics and business at University of Delaware.
00:03:56
Speaker
So immediately out of school,
00:03:59
Speaker
After football, I got a job at Morgan Stanley.
00:04:02
Speaker
So I was working on the desk there, helping with financial advisors, set up accounts.
00:04:06
Speaker
And so I was really in it from the gate, looking at like million-dollar accounts and all that stuff and helping them set up these accounts for their clients and all that.
00:04:16
Speaker
So that's what really opened my eyes to the financial world.
00:04:21
Speaker
Still, at that point, I really had no clue exactly like the vast, like how massive it is out here in these streets.
00:04:29
Speaker
Until I started like digging digging more into it and I eventually I wanted to go to financial advisor about so I Wanted to be a financial advisor.
00:04:38
Speaker
I want to have my own firm and all that type of stuff So I got all my life.
00:04:42
Speaker
So I was fully licensed and life insurance investment I invested over a quarter million dollars in my short time of being a financial advisor help times of people get life insurance, so
00:04:56
Speaker
Basically, that time was like a lot of education, a lot of knowledge, like from the book, like straight from the book and understanding exactly how money works and, you know, how everything

Becoming a Financial Advisor

00:05:10
Speaker
is.
00:05:10
Speaker
Somebody said they can't hear me in the chat.
00:05:13
Speaker
Yeah, I can hear you.
00:05:16
Speaker
Perfect.
00:05:17
Speaker
But basically just understanding how money works and how, you know, how to get down out here financially.
00:05:22
Speaker
And so for a little bit,
00:05:27
Speaker
I tried to start, you know, my own company, my own firm.
00:05:32
Speaker
That didn't work out, you know, especially coming from Georgia, being in a place that I didn't know anybody, just trying to start something from scratch.
00:05:38
Speaker
It was very hard.
00:05:40
Speaker
And so, you know, I ultimately had to give up that temporarily, but I still had the heart to teach people, right?
00:05:48
Speaker
Especially all the stuff that I learned, all the gyms and everything that I learned from being in school and taking those classes and stuff like that.
00:05:55
Speaker
And, um,
00:05:57
Speaker
you know, I still kept doing it online.
00:05:59
Speaker
I kept teaching people online and eventually in 2020, so I've been doing it since 2017, 2018, just online, you know, just financial literacy.
00:06:09
Speaker
Um,
00:06:11
Speaker
2020 is when everything happened for me on social media just blew up.
00:06:15
Speaker
TikTok, Instagram, everything.
00:06:16
Speaker
Just from, you know, doing what I normally do.
00:06:19
Speaker
I'm still for this day.
00:06:21
Speaker
I'm like surprised with everything.
00:06:23
Speaker
Like, it's all about it.
00:06:25
Speaker
You're definitely passionate.
00:06:26
Speaker
I can hear it in your voice and then from your spirit.
00:06:29
Speaker
But you said something.
00:06:30
Speaker
You said you grew up in Georgia.
00:06:32
Speaker
You went to Delaware on a full ride.
00:06:34
Speaker
You had a chance to play the Eagles.
00:06:37
Speaker
You said that, so that already made me think like, oh, this guy is driven, he's determined, he played big time football.
00:06:43
Speaker
Like he's not an average guy when it comes to like getting things done.
00:06:46
Speaker
But you also said something, I love money.
00:06:49
Speaker
And that's the tricky part with most people because people are afraid to have a love for money or appreciate money.
00:06:55
Speaker
There's a guy named Ken Honda, he talks about happy money, right?
00:06:59
Speaker
Money EQ and money IQ.
00:07:02
Speaker
And he always say everybody has a money story.
00:07:06
Speaker
So for you, what was your first money story or money interaction with money that makes you think like, oh, wow, I can make more money.
00:07:14
Speaker
Or you had a turning point like, oh, I just lost all my money.
00:07:17
Speaker
At what age and what moment was that for you?
00:07:20
Speaker
I would say like the biggest moment was when I was, you know,
00:07:24
Speaker
like 21, 20, yeah, 21, 22, I think it was, when I actually, like, started making money because in college, I was a poor life scholarship, so I was just blowing that money on.
00:07:37
Speaker
Didn't realize, like, the power that I had or what I could have turned that money into.
00:07:42
Speaker
But at 21, 22 years old, I was introduced to, like, the stock market and investments.
00:07:51
Speaker
And so I was sitting down one day actually with my mentor at the time.
00:07:57
Speaker
And he showed me just how me starting at a young age, how much investing in just $100, $200 a month could do for me.
00:08:08
Speaker
And I've seen that figure and I'm like, if I invest $100 starting at 21 to 67 a month without doing anything
00:08:18
Speaker
like just passively investing, I could be, I can have $5 million, right?
00:08:23
Speaker
That's the figure that he showed me just from doing that, you know, just having that working for me in the background, you know, is really that turning point.
00:08:32
Speaker
I'm like, dang, like this is- It's 21.
00:08:33
Speaker
Yeah.
00:08:37
Speaker
And so, and what was that account or what was that opportunity?
00:08:41
Speaker
Like you said you can invest $100 a month and by the age of 65, you can be a multimillionaire.
00:08:47
Speaker
Like what account or what stock investment is that?
00:08:50
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:08:51
Speaker
So it's an account called a Roth IRA.
00:08:54
Speaker
So for those that don't know what a Roth IRA is, it's a tax-free growth account that in retirement, you get access to the money completely tax-free.
00:09:04
Speaker
So basically,
00:09:06
Speaker
your money can grow tax free for however long that you invested for after 59 and a half, you get access to that money, no penalty, no anything to be able to, you know, live off of that money.
00:09:18
Speaker
And that's, and that's the key too.
00:09:20
Speaker
I think a lot of people, when they hear $5 million, you're gonna have $5 million.
00:09:23
Speaker
They think, I get to have $5 million that I get to spend, but really the key and the real knowledge that you get, or when you really start understanding money, it's about how you can live off that money.
00:09:36
Speaker
Okay.
00:09:37
Speaker
Not about spending this, but how you can live off of it.
00:09:39
Speaker
Yeah, how you can leverage that money to live off of, to make more, pass it down for generations and, you know, how that go real wealth.
00:09:49
Speaker
That's what that is.
00:09:50
Speaker
Yeah.
00:09:51
Speaker
And so,

Financial Tips from Vince

00:09:52
Speaker
you know, with that being said, let's get into this money talk.
00:09:55
Speaker
What is like three to five things that the average human being, you know, human being coming up that they should think about when it comes to money?
00:10:02
Speaker
Like, what is, like, three to five things that you can give someone right now about just money in general when you're thinking about it, your mindset, where to put it?
00:10:11
Speaker
Like, what is some things that we can think about?
00:10:14
Speaker
Yeah, right off the bat is your mindset.
00:10:16
Speaker
Okay.
00:10:16
Speaker
So I think, you know, when I meet with clients, when I meet with people, like, the first thing that I always try to uncover or try to, you know, figure out about that person is their mindset.
00:10:26
Speaker
And I really take everybody that I meet, everybody that I help through, like, a mindset trainer.
00:10:32
Speaker
which is basically you just uncovering those limiting beliefs that you have, all the negative thoughts, all that stuff about money.
00:10:37
Speaker
So that's the first thing, you know, shifting your mindset from, like, the money is evil to money is abundant.
00:10:48
Speaker
Like, I can do more of the things that I love to do.
00:10:51
Speaker
I can do good things with money, you know, if I...
00:10:54
Speaker
I started understanding money.
00:10:56
Speaker
If I started understanding that money is a tool, it's not necessarily a solution, you know, it's something that I can use to not only, like, shift my mindset, but also, you know, build something for the next generation as well.
00:11:08
Speaker
So that's the first thing.
00:11:09
Speaker
Mindset is key.
00:11:11
Speaker
From there, it's about control.
00:11:14
Speaker
So having control over your finances is key because a lot of us let the alternative happen.
00:11:22
Speaker
we let money control us, right?
00:11:25
Speaker
Like our emotions.
00:11:26
Speaker
Yeah, exactly.
00:11:28
Speaker
So we let money dictate how we live life.
00:11:32
Speaker
We let money dictate how we feel.
00:11:34
Speaker
We let how much money we make dictate how successful we are.
00:11:41
Speaker
A lot of things like that.
00:11:43
Speaker
And again, that also plays back into the mindset piece, which is why mindset is so important.
00:11:48
Speaker
But the sooner that you can get control
00:11:52
Speaker
over your finances, the sooner that you realize that when you do budget, when you do have a money management system, when you do put these things in place, the sooner that you have control and the more permission you actually give yourself and that it's not actually a restriction over what you're able to do, the sooner that you realize that, the more power you will have financially and the more that you'll be able to do more to
00:12:22
Speaker
that you want to do and think about other things and have the capacity to actually be creative and create and have a business and all that stuff.
00:12:29
Speaker
I can go Dave talking about this, but... No, because I think it's always important in life with anything we're looking at to get to the root level, right?
00:12:37
Speaker
Because everybody's like, I want to make millions, I want to make money, I want to do this, I want to do that.
00:12:43
Speaker
I can relate on my money journey and I started making a little bit of money.
00:12:46
Speaker
I'm like, oh, I'll make your money.
00:12:47
Speaker
But I realized my channel is I couldn't manage it, right?
00:12:50
Speaker
You know, I thought I was doing good.
00:12:51
Speaker
I thought I was like, oh God, I just spent time.
00:12:54
Speaker
Where's my money going?
00:12:56
Speaker
Right?
00:12:57
Speaker
Or you make a lot of money then people say, get the bag, make money, but you don't know where to put it.
00:13:02
Speaker
So you met us at a space now, like, okay, how do I invest it?
00:13:05
Speaker
When to invest it?
00:13:06
Speaker
Oh, the stock market is down.
00:13:08
Speaker
inflation, all these things.
00:13:10
Speaker
But you know, I really want to hold in on you said mindset, right?
00:13:14
Speaker
And you say, bro, you know, having control of that position and leverage.
00:13:18
Speaker
I think you also said in your financial starter that I took earlier.
00:13:22
Speaker
So how do we people us?
00:13:25
Speaker
We how do we get in a position where we can change our money mindset?
00:13:29
Speaker
And what do we have to be or become mentally to have that control, right, and have that power over our money and our money not controlling and dictating what we do and how we feel?
00:13:39
Speaker
What must a person do to get in that space like you are?
00:13:43
Speaker
Yeah, that's a great precedent, man.
00:13:45
Speaker
I'm

Financial Literacy and Community

00:13:46
Speaker
the rip.
00:13:46
Speaker
I'm big on community.
00:13:48
Speaker
I'm big on, like, togetherness.
00:13:49
Speaker
So, you know, what I did and what I realized, like, early, well, not really early, I guess, like, the last couple years,
00:13:56
Speaker
It's really about the people that you surround yourself with and the information that you have access to.
00:14:03
Speaker
So we can choose what we see on the Internet as much as it's an algorithm and all that stuff.
00:14:11
Speaker
What you watch most of the time is what's going to be shown to you.
00:14:13
Speaker
So if you decide to, especially on social media, start paying attention and start following people that's more financially literate or more acclimated and just dropping knowledge into them,
00:14:26
Speaker
that's more the stuff that you're going to be around.
00:14:27
Speaker
And what's going to happen is because you consume that, that's going to be like a subconscious fire in your head.
00:14:33
Speaker
So, you know, that's the first thing, surrounding yourself with information, surrounding yourself with people, having a community, getting around other people that's also thinking the same way that you think, that want to accomplish some of the same things that you want to accomplish, that want to learn some of the same things that you want to learn.
00:14:48
Speaker
That's the main thing, right?
00:14:51
Speaker
Having that environment because
00:14:54
Speaker
you know, that environment, you know, most everything about, you know, not only like mentally, but physically as well.
00:15:01
Speaker
So, um, getting in the right space, reading the right books.
00:15:05
Speaker
Um, I know for me, you know, my, some of the books that I read early on with that poor dad, um, they can grow rich, how to win friends and influence people with isn't like a money book, but it's more for like, just like how to treat people books, you know, and that ultimately, you know, will help you in business and other things down the line.
00:15:23
Speaker
Um,
00:15:24
Speaker
recent book, The Stockology of Money.
00:15:26
Speaker
Oh, that book right there?
00:15:28
Speaker
Yeah, fire.
00:15:28
Speaker
Bro, that book?
00:15:31
Speaker
He talks about baby boomers in Generation X and Z and like the time you were born is based on how you think and how you see money.
00:15:38
Speaker
And in 1987, the stock market crashed.
00:15:40
Speaker
And I was like, oh my God.
00:15:43
Speaker
And he talked about behavior.
00:15:45
Speaker
He said, it's not about information.
00:15:46
Speaker
You can be a financial advisor in your behavior.
00:15:50
Speaker
He said you will justify something in your mind just to make it make sense to buy it.
00:15:55
Speaker
Yeah, he got so many lines in that book.
00:16:01
Speaker
It's crazy.
00:16:03
Speaker
I had to really sit with some of the things that he said and really think about it for a few days and then pick the book back up because it just helped me just really evaluate everything that I thought, really evaluate, like you said, the behaviors and all that stuff.
00:16:18
Speaker
The book that we're talking about is The Psychology of Money.
00:16:21
Speaker
So you're there.
00:16:22
Speaker
Yeah, that book, that's golden.
00:16:24
Speaker
And so, you know, the mindset, environment, you spoke on environment, your community, who you follow, who you share space, time, and energy with people.
00:16:33
Speaker
You know, as you listen to Money Coach Vance, he knows this because he's surrounded himself with wealthy individuals.
00:16:39
Speaker
Now he's one.
00:16:41
Speaker
So we got that piece.
00:16:42
Speaker
We got that part.
00:16:43
Speaker
My biggest thing that I think everybody experiences
00:16:47
Speaker
And when I say everybody, I think everybody has different money wounds, right?
00:16:53
Speaker
Their challenges, their gifts, right?
00:16:56
Speaker
But why is it?
00:16:58
Speaker
Is it kind of like, are we programmed in condition for money management to be a challenge?

Challenges in Money Management

00:17:04
Speaker
Why is that the most common thing amongst all of us that we don't properly know how?
00:17:11
Speaker
It's not that we don't want to, because I think we try, but we probably don't know how the basics or the fundamentals.
00:17:17
Speaker
to manage money.
00:17:19
Speaker
What is that?
00:17:20
Speaker
So like, yo, I've been going on this all day, man.
00:17:24
Speaker
This is my thing.
00:17:26
Speaker
But it all comes back to society and get rich quick and just trying to get things faster than you're capable of getting them.
00:17:41
Speaker
Does that make sense?
00:17:43
Speaker
So like, for example,
00:17:45
Speaker
today it's about like getting that money and get to the bag, all that type of stuff.
00:17:49
Speaker
But what a lot of people forget or don't realize is that when you get that bag, you got to know what to do with it.
00:17:56
Speaker
Like you talked about earlier, you know what I mean?
00:17:59
Speaker
Right.
00:17:59
Speaker
Cause even when you get that bag and there's a stat that like,
00:18:03
Speaker
33 or I forget, um, 60% of people who make over a hundred thousand.
00:18:09
Speaker
Cause I think that's like the barrier where most people think if I make over a hundred thousand, then I'm going to be good.
00:18:14
Speaker
I'm going to be set.
00:18:15
Speaker
I know that was one of my, my beliefs.
00:18:18
Speaker
When I make over a hundred thousand, I'm going to be good.
00:18:20
Speaker
I'm going to be set.
00:18:21
Speaker
I ain't going to never need no more money.
00:18:22
Speaker
But what you don't realize is that, um, the more money you,
00:18:27
Speaker
make doesn't necessarily mean like you're going to be free.
00:18:31
Speaker
Exactly.
00:18:33
Speaker
So that's the thing.
00:18:36
Speaker
We got to understand that in order to maintain and keep that money, we got to understand what to do with it when we get it.
00:18:42
Speaker
And it's not enough just to get it.
00:18:44
Speaker
It's never been about the money that there's people that make millions of dollars that's pulling their hair out of their head to this day even though they make a million dollars a year.
00:18:54
Speaker
Because they don't know
00:18:55
Speaker
what the heck the money is doing.
00:18:56
Speaker
They don't know where it's going.
00:18:57
Speaker
They don't know how much is going here, how much is going here.
00:18:59
Speaker
They have no control.
00:19:00
Speaker
And if they stop doing what they're doing, then that money is going to stop coming in.
00:19:04
Speaker
And that cycle is going on forever and ever.
00:19:07
Speaker
So, like, we got to realize that the sooner that we're able to manage the money that we make, even if it's $40,000, $30,000, $20,000,
00:19:15
Speaker
You learn how to manage that properly.
00:19:18
Speaker
It won't matter how much money you make down the line.
00:19:20
Speaker
Then you can really get to the bag.
00:19:22
Speaker
That's what I say all the time.
00:19:24
Speaker
Because you learn how to manage the money in the beginning, and I think this is what helped me on my journey, really taking the time to get really good at managing $20,000 a year.
00:19:38
Speaker
really helped me be in position to manage whatever amount of money that came down the line.
00:19:45
Speaker
It really put me in position to go out and really be able to chase my dreams the way I want to because I put the things in place foundationally or I don't even know if that's a word.
00:19:55
Speaker
No, you're right.
00:19:57
Speaker
Put the things in place for my foundation so that I can go and pursue the things that I want to do.
00:20:02
Speaker
And then when you have that skill and when you learn how to manage your money properly,
00:20:06
Speaker
that totally eliminates all the other money words that's going on inside your head.
00:20:11
Speaker
That removes an entire block that's sitting inside your brain mentally so that you can then go and think about other things, go do other things, go create businesses, go do other stuff with your life.
00:20:25
Speaker
Go actually enjoy your money.
00:20:26
Speaker
Go actually enjoy your life.
00:20:28
Speaker
Go actually start living.
00:20:30
Speaker
That's the place that you want to get to.
00:20:32
Speaker
It's not the money.
00:20:33
Speaker
The money's going to come.
00:20:35
Speaker
You got to get to the point where you know what to do with your finances, how to set it up, how to create a foundation so that you can start doing that from right where you are.
00:20:43
Speaker
And then everything else becomes overflow.
00:20:45
Speaker
Everything else becomes abundant.
00:20:46
Speaker
Everything else is prosperous.
00:20:47
Speaker
because you know what to do at a base level.
00:20:50
Speaker
And that's the biggest thing.
00:20:52
Speaker
I think, you know, there's a cliche, a quote that says how you do one thing is how you do all things, right?
00:20:57
Speaker
And I think when I started, kid, you talked about systems, right?
00:21:00
Speaker
Having a system in place.
00:21:02
Speaker
You said you learned how to, you know, with 20,000, how to manage 20,000 a year, right?
00:21:07
Speaker
But that transferred into 200, 300, 400, however,
00:21:10
Speaker
much money you make you taking the same principles in detail intricate subtle habits and place it in the grand scheme of things so in your practice and what you do do you have a module do you have a program or a course or system that teaches people how to like build um healthy money management habits you do you have something i mean i'm pretty sure you do
00:21:34
Speaker
webinars and you teach, you know, online, but I think that to me, for most people who can't keep the money, me, exactly sometimes, how do you properly manage it and what do you have to sacrifice to kind of deal with it, you know?
00:21:53
Speaker
Yeah, that's the key because I, another thing too, before I get to like, you know, some of the stuff that I offer, but that's the key too, just
00:22:03
Speaker
realizing that in the beginning, it's going to be some sacrifices.
00:22:08
Speaker
Like, that's for anything.
00:22:10
Speaker
It doesn't have to be, like, a long-term sacrifice.
00:22:15
Speaker
The thing about money, just like anything, it's a skill, right?
00:22:19
Speaker
Once you learn a skill, once you learn a habit that you put in place and you go through those short-term sacrifices that you need to go through, what happens is those habits become
00:22:33
Speaker
or those skills that can become habits that, you know, you can manage or automate or whatever the case may be going forward.
00:22:41
Speaker
And, you know, that's just going to, you know, unleash so much money.
00:22:46
Speaker
So that's the thing.
00:22:48
Speaker
It's temporary.
00:22:49
Speaker
Like those sacrifices are temporary.
00:22:51
Speaker
I say this all the time too.
00:22:52
Speaker
Like if you, if you choose to like put your head down and really focus on this money stuff for six to 12 months, that's when you really think about the grand scheme of things, six to 12 months is like, oh,
00:23:03
Speaker
fraction of a fraction of the amount of time that we have.
00:23:07
Speaker
Yeah.
00:23:08
Speaker
Like, for you to actually get really disciplined, be disciplined for 6 to 12 months, be disciplined for a year, that's really like a fraction of the time that we have, you know, over this, like, just think about how old you are right now, how fraction, how little bit of time a year is.
00:23:25
Speaker
Like, that's crazy.
00:23:27
Speaker
That's crazy to me.
00:23:28
Speaker
And then how much can actually change within that year?
00:23:31
Speaker
Not
00:23:32
Speaker
Not only financially, but mentally as well.
00:23:35
Speaker
So we have to go through that.
00:23:37
Speaker
We got to go through those, you know, those sacrifices in order to get to the end result.
00:23:42
Speaker
And commit.
00:23:42
Speaker
Because I think it's doable.
00:23:44
Speaker
You know, I was in a gym earlier today and I was telling, you know, my followers, I said, look, I've been lifting weights since the age of 14.
00:23:52
Speaker
34 years old, right?
00:23:54
Speaker
But when I'm lifting the weights, when I'm working out, I'm not thinking about how hard it is.
00:23:57
Speaker
I'm not thinking about the sacrifice that's involved.
00:24:00
Speaker
I'm not thinking about what time I got to go to the gym, because I've done it for so long, it's automated, right?
00:24:05
Speaker
I have a system.
00:24:07
Speaker
So when I go to the gym, I already know what to do.
00:24:09
Speaker
And I think it's the same thing when it comes to money needs.
00:24:12
Speaker
managing it and investing it.
00:24:14
Speaker
I think you also said something in your starter kit and I learned this from a few financial people, having your savings and your investments like automated,

Automating Savings and Investments

00:24:24
Speaker
right?
00:24:24
Speaker
Like I have certain investments that go out every month no matter what.
00:24:28
Speaker
And it makes you feel good, especially at the end of the year.
00:24:31
Speaker
Like
00:24:32
Speaker
Oh, wow.
00:24:32
Speaker
Okay, cool.
00:24:33
Speaker
I had this amount of money invested every month.
00:24:35
Speaker
Okay, y'all feel good, right?
00:24:36
Speaker
At least I know I got something going somewhere, especially if when you get it, you know how to get rid of it, right?
00:24:43
Speaker
And I want to share something with you and maybe some of your clients or people you know that
00:24:47
Speaker
So I've done like a lot of work, you know, internal work around money and money wounds, right?
00:24:53
Speaker
So I realized my money wound and my money story started when I was a young kid.
00:24:57
Speaker
I was 15.
00:24:57
Speaker
I was living with my grandmother and I worked at Foot Action, right?
00:25:01
Speaker
I was a stock boy.
00:25:02
Speaker
We was making like $6.75 an hour.
00:25:03
Speaker
You know, we was good.
00:25:04
Speaker
Good, right.
00:25:09
Speaker
literally saving my little bit of money and putting it in the shoebox, right?
00:25:12
Speaker
I think at the time, it was like, I had like $364.
00:25:16
Speaker
I'm 15.
00:25:17
Speaker
I'm like, it's not a lot of money, but I was building.
00:25:19
Speaker
And I remember to this day, the vivid and visual in my mind, my grandmother came in and said, hey, you think you got some money?
00:25:26
Speaker
Can you pay the phone bill?
00:25:27
Speaker
My phone bill was $313.
00:25:29
Speaker
I remember.
00:25:32
Speaker
So I think I gave her the whole, I gave her everything.
00:25:35
Speaker
Because in my mind, it was like, well, at least the phone will be on.
00:25:40
Speaker
I can pay the bill.
00:25:41
Speaker
Cool.
00:25:42
Speaker
And so I realized over time by doing this work, like, oh, shit, I have a relationship that when I get money, right, I'm obligated.
00:25:50
Speaker
It feels bittersweet that I must find a way, right, to get rid of it or give it away.
00:25:56
Speaker
And I'm like, okay, where is that coming from?
00:25:59
Speaker
And it might be something healthy.
00:26:00
Speaker
Oh, someone might need a little bit of money to go to get a certification.
00:26:04
Speaker
Someone might need something to get some books for education.
00:26:07
Speaker
It's all from a good place.
00:26:09
Speaker
And I'm like, hold on, this is a pattern.
00:26:11
Speaker
This is really not good.
00:26:13
Speaker
So I want to share that with the people listening with yourself because we all somewhere in there have that story.
00:26:19
Speaker
We just probably don't know what it is.
00:26:20
Speaker
But it took me down memory lane to really understand my money habits.
00:26:25
Speaker
And I learned that from listening to the psychology of money.
00:26:28
Speaker
And I think it's important.
00:26:29
Speaker
It all stems from somewhere, man.
00:26:32
Speaker
Yes.
00:26:32
Speaker
At the end of the day, it all stems from some place.
00:26:35
Speaker
It's rooted somewhere where it's just, you know, just ingrained in us.
00:26:40
Speaker
And that's just our belief.
00:26:41
Speaker
That's our perspective that we grow with.
00:26:44
Speaker
Yeah.
00:26:45
Speaker
Definitely, I see exactly what you mean.
00:26:48
Speaker
Yeah, man.
00:26:48
Speaker
And that's the thing.
00:26:49
Speaker
And that's why the funny thing about you is that I ran into your TikTok like eight months ago, bro.
00:26:55
Speaker
That's crazy.
00:26:56
Speaker
About the six ways to get financially free.
00:26:59
Speaker
And I'm so big on the law of attraction.
00:27:01
Speaker
I'm so big on energy, right?
00:27:03
Speaker
I had that video in my phone for eight months.
00:27:06
Speaker
I don't know if I even shared it on social.
00:27:08
Speaker
Wow.
00:27:09
Speaker
But I was mindful about it.
00:27:10
Speaker
And I think because I had that energy about...
00:27:15
Speaker
You and the video, I didn't know you, but I also was doing a savings challenge on my mobile app.
00:27:21
Speaker
It's miracle season.
00:27:22
Speaker
And it was a 10 week challenge, $25 a week.
00:27:26
Speaker
You save $250.
00:27:26
Speaker
And then I said, after that, the goal and the intention is to speak to some money experts and say, okay, I have $250.
00:27:33
Speaker
It's not a lot of money.
00:27:35
Speaker
What should I do with it?
00:27:36
Speaker
So then I said, I'm going to interview people.
00:27:39
Speaker
But then I was thinking, well, what if I make people pay interest on the 250 of their own money?
00:27:43
Speaker
Because that's what credit card companies do.
00:27:45
Speaker
So I'm curious, you have a lot of savings and money challenges.
00:27:50
Speaker
Like when you get, say a person has $500 right now, what is it that they can do to invest it for them to grow it?
00:27:58
Speaker
Like, how does that work in your world?
00:28:01
Speaker
Yeah.
00:28:01
Speaker
So I'm also,
00:28:03
Speaker
Um, it's a, it's a, it's a couple ways you can go about it.
00:28:06
Speaker
So I guess I'm gonna start from like the ideal space.
00:28:09
Speaker
So like, if you, if you already have like your savings saved up, you pretty much got a foundation, you got life insurance, stuff like that.
00:28:16
Speaker
Um, then that $500 can, you know, or should be, uh, put the work.
00:28:23
Speaker
Okay.
00:28:23
Speaker
Right.
00:28:24
Speaker
Um, most definitely.
00:28:25
Speaker
So by put the work, I mean, invest it.
00:28:27
Speaker
So somewhere where it can earn interest.
00:28:29
Speaker
Now that's multiple places.
00:28:30
Speaker
There's a lot of places where you can do that.
00:28:32
Speaker
Now that's stock market, that's real estate, that, um, that's like fund riser where you can invest in real estate without actually investing for the digital, I mean, the physical real estate.
00:28:41
Speaker
Um, you know, you got crypto now, a whole bunch of stuff, right.
00:28:45
Speaker
Um,
00:28:46
Speaker
that $500 is like a good place for you to start like opening up an investment account and start investing in there.
00:28:55
Speaker
I think that's always like the first place that people should go, especially if it's something that you can do on a consistent basis.
00:29:02
Speaker
Now, if it's just $500 that, you know, you just, you just got saved up, you don't know what to do with it, then I always suggest
00:29:09
Speaker
that you put that back into yourself.
00:29:12
Speaker
And what I mean by that is your biggest, your biggest return on investment or your biggest interest that you're going to get back is within yourself.
00:29:21
Speaker
So for me, for me, what that looked like is, um, getting a, getting a computer or something like that, that I can run my business on that ultimately pays me back.
00:29:33
Speaker
So one of the, one of the, um, the rules inside the financial freedom startup act, um, is,
00:29:39
Speaker
of how to never go boat is to buy things that pay you back.
00:29:43
Speaker
So when you get in that habit of doing that, you will never, you will never go, but you'll always have money.
00:29:49
Speaker
You'll be able to recoup that $500, whatever that, whatever, whatever that is, you know, and multiples like 10 times that $5,000 depending on, you know, how you invest that and what you invested in.
00:30:01
Speaker
But,
00:30:01
Speaker
that's that's what i always suggest you know something like that put it put it back into yourself right and you can you share some examples of some things we can can invest in like you know personally said like a laptop i mean gym membership books education but what are some other things that we can get a return on our investment that you can come up with or you know of yeah so um like businesses digital product businesses personal brands
00:30:27
Speaker
Um, you know, just out of base level stuff like that.
00:30:30
Speaker
And then of course we got investment in the stock market.
00:30:33
Speaker
So, um, you know, one of the, one of the assets that I think is assets that is key for, um, a lot of people is like the S&P 500.
00:30:42
Speaker
So what that is, is the top 500 companies in the U S or the largest 500 companies in the U S that basically like is a gauge for the entire economy.
00:30:52
Speaker
Um, those 500 companies basically, you know, tell you how the economy is going.
00:30:56
Speaker
But if you invest in that over the last 100 years, since the S&P has been around, it's averaged about 10% per year, which you're really not going to find in a lot of places that, you know, it's going to give you that consistent return over that amount of time.
00:31:17
Speaker
Even when you look at, like, stuff like crypto, it hasn't been around long enough for you to really test it long term.
00:31:23
Speaker
Even though it's, you know, that's something that you can look
00:31:26
Speaker
forward to in the future but as far as like something that's that's been around that's consistent that has a track record that's something that you can invest in um as as well so that's always like the first place that's always like the foundational piece for most people but outside of that it's going to be like the books it's going to be the gym membership it's going to be stuff that make you better personal development um all that stuff because
00:31:53
Speaker
just like from me, like from my personal testimony, you know, me pointing to myself, you know, having my mindset and stuff like that, that's what has developed you to become who you want to be, right?
00:32:07
Speaker
To help you to get into that space
00:32:09
Speaker
know, who you see yourself as, and you know, if you want to make more money and all that stuff, you have to develop from within to get all that stuff on the outside to attract all those things to you.
00:32:22
Speaker
You know, that's, that's a big thing.
00:32:23
Speaker
You know, when I first started, I was big for me.
00:32:27
Speaker
You know, I paid to go to conferences.
00:32:29
Speaker
I paid to go to stuff.
00:32:30
Speaker
I paid books.
00:32:31
Speaker
I paid for classes, courses.
00:32:32
Speaker
It's all worth it.
00:32:34
Speaker
Yeah.
00:32:34
Speaker
That's how I got in this position.
00:32:36
Speaker
Exactly.
00:32:37
Speaker
Like all the books, seminars.
00:32:39
Speaker
Yeah.
00:32:40
Speaker
So for the S&P 500, like, okay, so we know about the stock market, but should a person get a financial advisor?
00:32:49
Speaker
Like, what does that look like?
00:32:50
Speaker
Like, should I hire someone like you?
00:32:52
Speaker
Like, if I got $500, just say I got $500 a month to invest.
00:32:57
Speaker
And I want to go to the S&P 500 because me personally, I have universal index, I think it's index life insurance.
00:33:06
Speaker
I have funds and I have my Roth IRA.
00:33:08
Speaker
I invest in that consistent number don't have to last three years, consistent all three, right?
00:33:14
Speaker
That's me.
00:33:16
Speaker
But I also know I've read something in the book was like, yeah, it's cool to invest in your RA.
00:33:21
Speaker
You're putting up your max, not the limit every year, but you still got to invest that money into the stock market.
00:33:27
Speaker
Right.
00:33:28
Speaker
So that's why I also think there's a disconnect with some of us or some people.
00:33:32
Speaker
How did you go about investing in a stock market if you don't have the information or expertise to I heard something.
00:33:38
Speaker
I have a friend who talks about REITs.
00:33:41
Speaker
You got ETAs or EFTs, I think.
00:33:45
Speaker
All these things, these terminologies, I don't really know what.
00:33:48
Speaker
How do you go about that?

Understanding ETFs

00:33:50
Speaker
Like, what's the process?
00:33:51
Speaker
What's the order of operation to get healthy investments?
00:33:54
Speaker
What's your money?
00:33:56
Speaker
Yeah, so at a base level, ETFs are a good way to go.
00:34:01
Speaker
So I was talking about the S&P 500 a little bit earlier.
00:34:04
Speaker
But the S&P 500 is 500 companies, right?
00:34:09
Speaker
How the stock market works is if you were to buy 500 companies individually,
00:34:15
Speaker
that's going to cost you a pretty penny.
00:34:16
Speaker
That's going to cost you thousands and thousands of dollars.
00:34:20
Speaker
What ETFs do is they give you access to multiple companies at once for a discounted price, basically.
00:34:26
Speaker
So instead of paying $50,000 for 500 companies, you're going to pay $100 for a share of
00:34:33
Speaker
an ETF that controls 500.
00:34:37
Speaker
So, um, at a base level, you know, that's what an ETF is.
00:34:43
Speaker
And you want to start there.
00:34:45
Speaker
Why?
00:34:45
Speaker
Because it instantly diversifies your assets.
00:34:49
Speaker
So one of the key things of investing is diversification.
00:34:53
Speaker
Um, having diversified portfolio and stuff like that, that's going to give you quick access to a diversified portfolio.
00:34:59
Speaker
So, um,
00:35:00
Speaker
ETFs give you access to those multiple companies.
00:35:05
Speaker
ETFs also has like low expenses, low expense ratio.
00:35:11
Speaker
So whenever you, so you mentioned financial advisors, if you get a financial advisor and stuff like that, whenever you do get a financial advisor, most of us don't know that there's actually like fees associated with that.
00:35:24
Speaker
And those fees come directly from your investment.
00:35:27
Speaker
So,
00:35:28
Speaker
When I mentioned 10% earlier with the S&P 500, those fees actually either way at that 10%.
00:35:35
Speaker
So depending on your advisor or who you work with, that 10% can turn into 9% or 8%, and you'll be surprised what that 2% difference does.
00:35:44
Speaker
Plus, if it's middle-eats.
00:35:45
Speaker
Yeah, that's $200,000, $500,000, depending on how long you invest.
00:35:52
Speaker
So not that financial advisors are bad or anything like that.
00:35:55
Speaker
I'm not saying that.
00:35:56
Speaker
If you would rather have a financial advisor, if you would rather have somebody in your corner that is licensed and can give you the information that you need, and by all means do that, it could be worth it.
00:36:10
Speaker
But just so you're knowledgeable, just so you know that's how that works.
00:36:14
Speaker
With mutual funds, it's the same thing.
00:36:16
Speaker
So you don't necessarily have a financial advisor, but there's a manager over the fund
00:36:21
Speaker
and there's more fees associated with the mutual fund for that reason.
00:36:25
Speaker
So that's why I always suggest ETF, if you want to go at it like the do-it-yourself route, that's big now, do-it-yourself.
00:36:33
Speaker
You know, people don't want to.
00:36:34
Speaker
So basically you're saying that the real answer is you got to sacrifice those 6 to 12 months and you got to get in learning mode or education mode, right, to kind of understand what's going on opposed to just giving away your money because you trust someone.
00:36:49
Speaker
Even though that's fine, it's okay.
00:36:51
Speaker
We're not knocking it, but get a little bit more information.
00:36:53
Speaker
Get a little savvy in the financial department.
00:36:56
Speaker
You know, take some of your... I'm telling you, I only did the first... I'm like on step maybe six of the starter kit, the first section.
00:37:03
Speaker
But it's like, even like the first three, I'm like, yo.
00:37:07
Speaker
And I'm just like retaining the information.
00:37:09
Speaker
I know this stuff.
00:37:10
Speaker
But it's like the way you're delivering it and the way you're teaching it is easy for me to retain in a way like I got to keep coming back to this.
00:37:17
Speaker
Even the money affirmations.
00:37:18
Speaker
Bro, I've been doing money affirmations for a long time.
00:37:22
Speaker
Right?
00:37:23
Speaker
And I tell people I done had quantum leaps in my life.
00:37:27
Speaker
Where it's like, one minute I'm doing Uber, another minute I'm on TV.
00:37:31
Speaker
But they don't know what I'm doing at night.
00:37:33
Speaker
You know, like I got an affirmation sheet, 30 affirmations.
00:37:36
Speaker
And I'm constantly reading it, reprogramming my subconscious

Mindset and Money Affirmations

00:37:40
Speaker
mind.
00:37:40
Speaker
So can you speak a little bit on the power of affirmations and having a money conscious and abundant mindset and how that benefits your overall in the money space?
00:37:50
Speaker
Yeah, that's totally, when you have the positive money mindset or positive affirmations, like on your side, like in your tool kit, like something that you do, something that you practice, something that you repeat to yourself on a daily basis, listen to, say, write, right?
00:38:05
Speaker
That's going to totally, like you said, give you like leaps and bounds over everybody else.
00:38:11
Speaker
It's so powerful, right?
00:38:13
Speaker
When I remember, like it's crazy because I just had like a reflection
00:38:17
Speaker
Respect the moment inside of our group.
00:38:20
Speaker
We're doing a 26 week saving and best challenge.
00:38:23
Speaker
That's all our community right now.
00:38:25
Speaker
And one of the things that I had them do or have everybody do.
00:38:28
Speaker
is write down affirmations, right?
00:38:30
Speaker
That's 26 affirmations for each week.
00:38:32
Speaker
We're going to build on the affirmations as we go because what's going to happen is as you go through this, and as you know, you grow each week or every time something happens.
00:38:43
Speaker
And so your mindset shifts, and what I have them do is write down 10 to begin with because as we go through, you're going to grow so much that your affirmations are going to begin to change.
00:38:53
Speaker
So I don't want you to have 26 affirmations for the 26 weeks
00:38:57
Speaker
Your affirmations won't actually change because by the 10th week, you may have already accomplished one of your affirmations.
00:39:03
Speaker
So now you can address and write some other things down.
00:39:07
Speaker
But affirmations are key.
00:39:12
Speaker
And back to the reflective piece, when I did that, I went back and I seen my own affirmations that I wrote for myself, that I said to myself seven times a day, repeated to myself, listened to myself, say them to myself.
00:39:26
Speaker
It's crazy how deep you can go with it.
00:39:30
Speaker
And the deeper that you go with it, the quicker the result happens for some reason.
00:39:34
Speaker
It's mind-blowing.
00:39:36
Speaker
It's mind-blowing, bro.
00:39:37
Speaker
Yes, I swear.
00:39:38
Speaker
It's different levels.
00:39:40
Speaker
If you write it down, that's a level.
00:39:43
Speaker
If you write it down and you say it to yourself, that's another level.
00:39:46
Speaker
If you write it down, say it to yourself, and record yourself saying it, it's crazy.
00:39:51
Speaker
I got an act that lets you record affirmations, and I will let the act play at night while I'm sleeping with my voice.
00:39:58
Speaker
Yes, with your voice, that's the key.
00:40:00
Speaker
Yeah.
00:40:01
Speaker
So it's like, I tell people, you always know Jay-Z got a famous line, the spiritual really works.
00:40:07
Speaker
Like that eternal being, that infinite intelligence, that spiritual realm, it really works when you go to work and you apply and you use the techniques given because it's like, I would never say this over and over.
00:40:21
Speaker
I said, but you'll repeat a rap song all day.
00:40:23
Speaker
You know, exactly.
00:40:26
Speaker
You know, money, money affirmations for your life.
00:40:30
Speaker
So you got to wrap your money affirmations.
00:40:32
Speaker
I'm telling you, like the same way you get in the car and you've seen that song that come on the radio.
00:40:39
Speaker
It's got to be the same thing with the affirmations.
00:40:41
Speaker
Because when you let your inner light shine and you put it out into the world, it only attacks the things.
00:40:48
Speaker
Yes.
00:40:49
Speaker
That's what you want to expect.
00:40:50
Speaker
Don't be big on that vibration, keeping your vibration high, standing in high vibration because everything that's on that vibration is going to connect to it.
00:40:58
Speaker
So I didn't got opportunities when I made more than enough money.
00:41:01
Speaker
Well, I'm like,
00:41:02
Speaker
But I know how I did it.
00:41:04
Speaker
Right.
00:41:04
Speaker
But the people outside, but they don't see the work that you and I know we do behind closed doors.
00:41:10
Speaker
There's a quote that says, which you practice in private, you will be rewarded for in public.
00:41:15
Speaker
Right.
00:41:16
Speaker
So I tell people, you know, be intentional, you know, get some books, get some education, sign up to your financial starter course.
00:41:24
Speaker
Learn about this.
00:41:25
Speaker
You know, I always say the more you learn, the more you earn.
00:41:27
Speaker
The learners will inherit the earth.
00:41:30
Speaker
And I'm big on financial literacy and mental health this year because over the last probably like six to 10 months, I've been getting close into like, you know, talking to big corporations and companies about, you know, hiring like influencers of talent for their financial corporation or, you know, mental health, suicide prevention.
00:41:50
Speaker
And one thing I realized that money, right, money EQ, our emotional attachment to money really affects our mental.
00:41:58
Speaker
how we think, how we feel.
00:42:00
Speaker
And so I was like, if I can bridge the gap on mental health and money EQ and money, we might have something that we can kind of build out and help people in both, you know, perspectives.
00:42:11
Speaker
That's why I think what you do is so vital to the world, man.
00:42:14
Speaker
And that's big.
00:42:16
Speaker
And I realized that too, like it has a big effect on your emotions, right?
00:42:21
Speaker
You're like, we're very emotional when it comes to money, even though we think so for the most part, we think negatively about it, right?
00:42:28
Speaker
You think if there's something negative, you know, you try not to, you know, deal with it or whatever, but we feel emotionally tied to it that, you know, it affects our mental health.
00:42:37
Speaker
It affects how we feel about ourselves, right?
00:42:41
Speaker
At a deep level.
00:42:42
Speaker
So, you know, that's another thing that I cover in my coaching program.
00:42:47
Speaker
that I have members go through, you know, I have an entire mindset training specifically on like the mind and your mental involving your money and uncovering those like issues underneath.
00:43:00
Speaker
that you know that money is just like a top layer it's like the surface level you got some other stuff underneath like mentally and of course you know that deep down the the issues that stem from childhood and all that other stuff like it's crazy so um you know and i was taking a guy from japan ken honda he has an exercise in one of his course i took it on mind valley and he actually has you go in your mind close your eyes
00:43:27
Speaker
Say today you're going on a date with money, right?
00:43:31
Speaker
So he had like visualized money as a date that like money is sitting across from you on his date and he asked you How do you feel?
00:43:38
Speaker
Do you feel happy?
00:43:39
Speaker
Do you feel anxious?
00:43:40
Speaker
Do you feel overwhelmed?
00:43:41
Speaker
You feel excited?
00:43:43
Speaker
And I was just kind of like damn when I did it I was kind of like I was kind of like happy but then I was kind of like like you know, I mean
00:43:51
Speaker
But it's crazy because I didn't think I would be that way.
00:43:54
Speaker
So it's crazy how we can put ourselves in a space and certain things come up that we're not aware of.
00:44:00
Speaker
So people, man, listen, exercise around money helps.
00:44:03
Speaker
But before we get off here, I really want to ask the token question.
00:44:08
Speaker
Are we in a recession?

Is the Economy in Recession?

00:44:11
Speaker
You know, because inflation is going on.
00:44:13
Speaker
Are we currently in a recession?
00:44:15
Speaker
What do you say, man?
00:44:17
Speaker
Yeah, so I mean, technically, the technical terms is no, based on like, you know, the previous quarters and everything.
00:44:23
Speaker
So like a recession technically is two quarters of negative GDP.
00:44:27
Speaker
We didn't do that technically.
00:44:29
Speaker
So technically, no.
00:44:30
Speaker
But I think, you know, just looking at the signs and just looking at the corporations, looking at what's happening.
00:44:35
Speaker
So I'm sure we all heard about the layoff and stuff like that.
00:44:39
Speaker
Billion dollar companies, you know, laying off people like thousands of people, tens of thousands of people.
00:44:45
Speaker
That's like, that's not normal.
00:44:47
Speaker
That happens when you're trying to cut back.
00:44:49
Speaker
You're preparing for something to happen.
00:44:51
Speaker
And one thing that I talk about all the time is you got to follow the money.
00:44:55
Speaker
So follow the money, number one.
00:44:57
Speaker
And then number two, look at the signs and understand that the people that's in these positions of power, these people that make billions of dollars, billion-dollar corporations, they usually see them.
00:45:15
Speaker
They see the times before we usually see them.
00:45:16
Speaker
So if they're preparing for something that is projected to come, right, then we should see the signs and take heed to that, do whatever we have to do.
00:45:26
Speaker
So that's why I'm so like, especially this year in 2023 about being so disciplined, financially disciplined, because we don't know what that, and we don't know what this thing is going to look like over these next few months.
00:45:38
Speaker
Um, as far as like the recession talks about and,
00:45:42
Speaker
uh, recession talks and all that stuff.
00:45:43
Speaker
So we just have to be prepared.
00:45:45
Speaker
Just like these companies are preparing, right?
00:45:47
Speaker
Company finances are just like your finances.
00:45:49
Speaker
When things get tired, what you gonna do?
00:45:52
Speaker
You gonna start,
00:45:53
Speaker
Tightening up your expenses, right?
00:45:55
Speaker
You want to start cutting some things off.
00:45:56
Speaker
So if these companies see it, then we should be doing it and managing our finances the same way.
00:46:02
Speaker
So that's what I think.
00:46:03
Speaker
That's my perspective.
00:46:05
Speaker
That's good advice, bro.
00:46:06
Speaker
Like out of everything I've eaten from like EYLs into like all of financial NISA, I think her name is.
00:46:12
Speaker
Like I never heard it delivered like that.
00:46:14
Speaker
I'm pretty sure they might have the same information, but...
00:46:16
Speaker
I mean, to look ahead, to think about what's going on now with these billion dollar corporations, they're making, you know, layoffs, they're cutting people and thousands of people.
00:46:26
Speaker
So that's a sign of something was bound to happen, like a foreshadow.
00:46:31
Speaker
You know, before we leave, you know, is there in your career and in your profession, I always want to ask two questions.
00:46:40
Speaker
What's working for you and what's your biggest challenge?
00:46:44
Speaker
Um, dang, that's a good question.
00:46:45
Speaker
Um, what's working for me, yeah, what's working for me right now, um, is honestly, like, a lot of things, man.
00:46:54
Speaker
I'm super blessed.
00:46:55
Speaker
Like, all the visions and the goals and stuff that I've had, um, has just been coming through for us.
00:47:01
Speaker
And, you know, that's just a challenge.
00:47:03
Speaker
You know, thank you.
00:47:04
Speaker
Hard work and, you know, just having the vision and the affirmations and everything.
00:47:08
Speaker
Like, everything just has been boiling up, um, to this point.
00:47:12
Speaker
So, um, I think
00:47:14
Speaker
Social media is working.
00:47:18
Speaker
And not only just for like the big people, you know, I don't even think that I'm a big social media person yet, even though, you know, that's all I would say.
00:47:28
Speaker
But, you know, just understanding how to leverage social media, that's working right now.
00:47:35
Speaker
And that can work for anybody.
00:47:36
Speaker
for anybody that's interested in getting started on social media or, you know, starting a brand, because that's really what it is, a personal brand.
00:47:46
Speaker
Really hone in on your audience.
00:47:48
Speaker
Okay?
00:47:48
Speaker
Really hone in on building a community.
00:47:51
Speaker
That's what's going to matter, like, going forward.
00:47:53
Speaker
Just from, like, what I've seen and from talking to big corporations and companies and stuff like that, they're focused on, like, creators and personal brands that have connection with their

Social Media and Personal Branding

00:48:02
Speaker
community.
00:48:02
Speaker
More so, just
00:48:04
Speaker
Just having a follower like that's not it no more.
00:48:06
Speaker
No, just having a thought just having millions of followers is not it.
00:48:10
Speaker
You want to have a community.
00:48:11
Speaker
You want to have something good and for you want to have a connection relationship with people that follow you for whatever that is that you do.
00:48:18
Speaker
Right.
00:48:18
Speaker
If you fix phone, if you paint, if you, um, I don't know, you do something that most people don't see on a regular, right.
00:48:27
Speaker
You can create a community around anything.
00:48:30
Speaker
I would say if you wanna start winning, that's what's winning for me right now.
00:48:34
Speaker
Realize the power of social media, realize the shift that's happening, realize that an audience and a community is key if you wanna build something significant.
00:48:44
Speaker
My most challenging thing right now is like business-wise for me, it's being able to delegate.
00:48:58
Speaker
So being able to spread out, you know, tasks and stuff, you know, to the right people.
00:49:04
Speaker
And I wouldn't say it's like more so a task because it's something that I'm like just now focusing on because things are, like I said, things are starting to go really, really well, like getting really crazy for me, you know, in my business, which I thank God for every single

Delegating and Business Growth

00:49:20
Speaker
day.
00:49:20
Speaker
But I'm just now getting into, you know, starting to outsource and all that stuff.
00:49:26
Speaker
to different things for different reasons, you know, while still having that connection.
00:49:30
Speaker
So that's really the tough part.
00:49:32
Speaker
Yeah, delegation is hard, bro, because you got to trust.
00:49:35
Speaker
Yeah, having that trust, but still having that connection, too, with the audience, with my community, that's, like, really tough.
00:49:43
Speaker
But, you know, I think what's crazy, and I say this all the time, but things always align, like, whenever you're doing the right thing.
00:49:52
Speaker
Ooh, that's good.
00:49:55
Speaker
Ooh, that's big.
00:49:56
Speaker
Say that again.
00:49:57
Speaker
Say that again.
00:49:58
Speaker
Things always align when you're doing the right thing.
00:50:02
Speaker
That is.
00:50:03
Speaker
Things always align when you're doing the right thing.
00:50:05
Speaker
And I say that to say this, because when I first started this year, I started to my best friend at the beginning of the year, and we were talking about my goals and his goals and stuff like that.
00:50:15
Speaker
And I was talking about, you know, me outsourcing and me starting to
00:50:19
Speaker
to, um, you know, delegate and stuff like that.
00:50:22
Speaker
And then, you know, it's crazy.
00:50:23
Speaker
Like I was saying, this whole thing started line.
00:50:26
Speaker
I started getting reached out by people and people in my network and all the stuff that I've been thinking to start coming in light, like right in front of me, but here's the key though.
00:50:37
Speaker
I wouldn't have been able to realize that if my money wasn't in order, if I didn't have the foundation in place, you know, all the stuff that I put in place foundationally wasn't in place.
00:50:49
Speaker
I wouldn't have the mental capacity to see these things or see these signs in front of me if I didn't have those things in order.
00:50:57
Speaker
So, you know, that's the key.
00:50:58
Speaker
I don't get anything from me.
00:51:01
Speaker
Set the foundation.
00:51:03
Speaker
The less you have to worry about the small things, the more you get to worry about the big things.
00:51:08
Speaker
That's amazing.
00:51:09
Speaker
Hey, man, listen, last but not least, how can I help and what should we follow you on?
00:51:13
Speaker
We know you're on Instagram at Money Coach Vince.
00:51:16
Speaker
You're on TikTok, right?
00:51:17
Speaker
I don't know if you have, like, Patreon or Twitch or you got a link in your bio.
00:51:23
Speaker
Like, where should we tap in with you the most and how do we get connected?
00:51:26
Speaker
Because I know I'm going to be tapping.
00:51:28
Speaker
I got to finish the starter kit, brother.
00:51:31
Speaker
Yeah, for sure.
00:51:32
Speaker
I mean, anything you need is at the link in my bio, but you can follow me on all social media.
00:51:37
Speaker
Everything is Money Coach Vent.
00:51:39
Speaker
So, you know, check me out on all social medias there, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube.
00:51:47
Speaker
Going to start doing more, like, long-form videos on YouTube too soon, so look out for that.
00:51:53
Speaker
But, yeah, that's where you can find me.
00:51:56
Speaker
If you need, like, coaching or anything, Instagram is the person.
00:52:00
Speaker
platform for that where I do like most of my coaching content.
00:52:03
Speaker
I do different content on each platform.
00:52:05
Speaker
I think that's what differentiates me from a lot of people.
00:52:08
Speaker
But Instagram, I do more coaching.
00:52:11
Speaker
TikTok is more like tricks and hacks and tricks and stuff like that.
00:52:16
Speaker
YouTube is kind of like a mix of both.
00:52:18
Speaker
And, of course, it's going to get into our long-form content.
00:52:22
