jamie peacock: well this is a recap of monday so yesterday we had our meetup it was great So a whole bunch of people. We had Kurt. with this cardboard cutout.

jamie peacock: Dude, I'm cutting that thing out today and I'm carrying it around with me.
Curt: Oh no. Ah. It's going to be so much worse.
jamie peacock: It is, don't worry. and wait until tomorrow. Wait until Wednesday. You're going to be at the Kern meetup.
Curt: oh so i like I didn't think it would be that bad. when Everybody is DMing me pictures, and I'm like... This is so much worse.
jamie peacock: yeah no the fomo dude the fomo is real um

jamie peacock: But yeah, dude, such a blast. So yesterday morning, the tool hall opens early. So we speed ran two of the alls. And then at 10 a .m., we went to Machine Tools.
Curt: Oh?
jamie peacock: We spent... three hours in the machine tool hole and we covered about a third of it.
Curt: Okay. Ho! Wow.
jamie peacock: So this morning This morning we're gonna... Get there at 5 to 9. go do another two rows of the the tooling hall. And then, well, first I've got to go pick up the Kurt. Then we're going to do the next two rows in the in the tooling hall.
jamie peacock: and work holding hall. And then... At 10 o 'clock I'm meeting up with the Taps and Patients guys. We're going to go walk through abrasives and automation.
Curt: Oh sick. Nice.
jamie peacock: Yeah, so we're gonna go there like we're going to go walk it together and yeah, it's fun to walk the show with people who are looking at stuff and then you can give them your. Wild opinions. It's great.
Curt: oh absolutely yeah absolutely
jamie peacock: Yeah. And John is still driving. He's going to be at about 10 a .m. today.
Curt: Yeah, I was watching his stories last night, so yeah.
jamie peacock: Yeah, he he will be ah later today, which I'm quite excited for. And then, yeah.
Curt: Sick.
jamie peacock: are we tri He's got the code for the Airbnb. He can just come drop his shit and then he's going to come through time to IMTS for the day.

jamie peacock: daytron have got uh the Oktoberfest thing tonight, so we're going to that. Gonna go with beer and bratwurst. and what's going to be funny is all their staff are going to be wearing lederhosen which is going to be fucking amazing.
jamie peacock: So i went I went into the booth and the guy recognized me from last time.
Curt: That's awesome. hu
jamie peacock: So we ended up chatting. We chatting. And someone was like, I recognize the voice. I'm like.

jamie peacock: Cool. That was the fifth time that happened. that day i got recognized on the bus on the way to imts yesterday
Curt: Oh nice.
jamie peacock: Yeah, they're like, I really enjoyed your episode. I'm like, which episode? the one from like yesterday they're like yeah it was really good they listened to it on the way in So, yeah.
Curt: Sick.
jamie peacock: it Dude, it's Pete. yeah that has been surreal people just like recognizing the voice or recognizing me it's like Kind of weird.

jamie peacock: Yeah. And then I finally...

jamie peacock: I finally got to meet Grimsmo yesterday.

jamie peacock: Pat from Old Boys, one of our chat, the horse. at the horse booth and i need a halo so i ran after him and i'm like hey do you have a probe halo he's like yeah i'm like what do you want for it he's like no you just have it I'm like, a sweet, dude.
jamie peacock: He has a mouth and a ruler and I'm just giving him shit.
Curt: Aww.
jamie peacock: um but yeah because i want one i've got a probe so i want to put a Halo on the top.

jamie peacock: index machines are freaking wild so as I assume you know the Gatling gun machine

jamie peacock: Where it's got like eight spindles that spin, that rotate.
Curt: Yes.
jamie peacock: Yeah.

jamie peacock: They do a full stack Swiss.
Curt: oh wild.
jamie peacock: So it's four Swiss spindles. above each other?
Curt: Yeah.
jamie peacock: with Each one's got their own turrets on the one side, and then they've got flex stations. you can configure it to have a turret uh gang tool on the other side or flex stations where the top station shares between the top two spindles and the bottom between the bottom two spindles
Curt: Oh.
jamie peacock: And then they had subspindle, like their config, they had there had two
Curt: That's cool.
jamie peacock: So the bottom two share a sub spindle and the top two share a sub spindle.
Curt: God, that's gonna be... wild to program.
jamie peacock: apparently like the their software pack like really on the controller makes it pretty easy to handle I was chatting to the guy about it.
Curt: um Yeah.
jamie peacock: And he's like, no, no, they're soft and makes it easy. I'm like, yeah, that makes sense. I would expect so.
Curt: Totally yeah.
jamie peacock: Um, But what guys do is they'll set it up for bone screws and then they'll have, because all the bars have to be the same diameter.
Curt: Okay, yeah, yeah
jamie peacock: in this config, but they'll have a family of bone screws. And then they'll be making short ones and long ones so that the cycle times link up that the short one is being parted off. while the long one still being made and then it'll grab the long one
Curt: Oh, smart.
jamie peacock: like That way you can share the sub like, dude, so clever.

jamie peacock: Yeah, that is some of the machines we've seen are just are just bonkers. And they have an LK... TC1000. at the LK booth.

jamie peacock: six by three meter booth because i think that's what al mentioned when we spoke to him was a

jamie peacock: like a like a single couch ye yeah no there's like four couches like four You. shaped uh sections. And then a giant. Track for the rock crawlers.

jamie peacock: but That place was buzzing yesterday afternoon. um al Al said to me he was managing to keep up with scanning badges as people came in until we pitched up at 2 o 'clock.
Curt: Mm hmm.
jamie peacock: And then he just gave up. like We filled up half of the booth.
Curt: Aww.
Curt: That's sick.
jamie peacock: Yeah, it was really awesome.
Curt: That's awesome.
jamie peacock: I got to chat to all the guys. Um, Oh, there's a Swiss Nano. I assume you the APX, APSX, whatever.
Curt: Hmm.
jamie peacock: At the Candle Metal booth, I'm gonna go rip that thing a fucking new one today.

jamie peacock: i have strong opinions about that machine so i haven't actually been to the kennel metal booth yet um we didn't get that many rows into the tooling thing so I'm gonna go there this morning.
Curt: Mm -hmm.
jamie peacock: And go and... Loft wildly at the... Turdburger. And then, yeah, want to go I want to go see Fraser Tools.
Curt: ah
jamie peacock: I want to see if I can get them locally. because having seen that AF -XPS It looks violent.
Curt: Yeah.

jamie peacock: It looks like that thing can fucking send it So I want to go chat to them, see if there's a local agent on those.

Curt: anyways uh so it kind of worked out for the best but it doesn't work out for Me missing out on you all. All you guys.

Curt: I'm I'm so excited to stuff like I took the time limits off of my app.

Curt: today or for this entire week because i'm just watching everybody's stories which is cool because i got like a bird's eye view of the entire show from like 30 different vantage points. So yeah. um
jamie peacock: I hit my 30 minute limits on Instagram on the train ride home.
