Speaker: Our Buy Me A Coffee link is in the show notes. Now for our fun fact of the day. Let's talk about some interesting choices Time Magazine has made for the annual Person of the Year.
Speaker: Did you know that they've actually named some non-humans as their Person of the Year? In 1982, computer won the title. They actually called it the Machine of the Year.
Speaker: They chose it to mark the dawn of the information age, but they did highlight some people though, including Steve Jobs, founder of Apple Computer. In 1988, they selected the endangered Earth. They called it Planet of the Year.
Speaker: This was to represent the environmentalist movement and the natural disasters that struck that year, which included the North American drought and an earthquake in Armenia, as well as the issues of global warming and deforestation.
Speaker: And here's one more interesting pick. Did you know that you have actually won Times Person of the Year before? Time selected you in 2006 to be the person of the year to represent individual contributors on the World Wide Web, as we used to call it.
Speaker: And I feel like I can put that on my resume now that I won. That's very true. Person of the year. We all can. We're special. We're all special. We all are. All right. Let's jump into a quick round of this or that based on today's theme.
Speaker: Okay. This or that. Time travel shows. Outlander or Dark? Ooh, I really liked Dark. And I think you're the one that recommended it to me. Yes. And I binge watched that. It was so good. i usually don't love movies where I have to read the subtitles because don't know.
Speaker: but But that is one that I just did not mind at all. The story was so good. it had like one of the best endings of a TV show. Like they really wrapped it up. And yeah, I love that show. I've seen a couple episodes of Outlander. I think I need to go back to it though because I know it's a really good show. Yeah. I haven't been able to get into Outlander, but I got to give it a second chance.
Speaker: Okay, This or That, Song to End a Wedding, I've Had the Time of My Life by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, or Closing Time by Semisonic.
Speaker: I would have to go with I've had the time of my life. That one's easier to dance to. I don't understand how people dance to closing time. I don't either. I mean, I'm sure it gets people out off the dance floor. definitely. Yes. Yeah.
Speaker: ah But I've had the time of my life is just better. It's better to dance to. Oh, yeah. It's so much better. I think closing time's a little overplayed. Really? I mean, I wish I could also do the little like flying thing in I've Had the Time of My Life, but I probably never I'm sure some people try it at the end. Oh, yes. Oh, yes.
