S2 E35 Ricky from Anything is Possible Podcast

The Paranormal Prism Podcast
The Paranormal Prism Podcast

5 plays · Aug 11, 2026

This week on The Paranormal Prism, I am joined by Ricky, host of Anything Is Possible, for a fascinating conversation about paranormal experiences, unexplained encounters, and why keeping an open—but critical—mind is so important. Ricky shares how his fascination with the unexplained began in childhood and recounts some of the strange experiences that have followed him throughout his life. These include witnessing what appeared to be violent poltergeist activity at a neighbour’s home, a possible UFO encounter, and a mysterious figure he once believed could have been an angel. We also explores Ricky’s more recent experiences, including a GoPro mysteriously losing its battery while recording in his family’s historic burial ground, an unsettling experience inside caves in the Ozarks, and hearing unexplained music and distant cannon or musket fire while visiting the Shiloh battlefield. Ricky and I,  also discuss the importance of debunking paranormal evidence, understanding how equipment works, recognising visual and audio pareidolia, and resisting the temptation to label every unexplained photograph, sound, or experience as paranormal. From childhood encounters and haunted battlefields to UFOs, spirit communication, podcasting, and the question of what might exist beyond our current understanding, this episode reminds us that when exploring the unexplained… anything really is possible.

Transcript

Lee Hatfield: Hello everybody and welcome to the latest episode of the Paranormal Prism.

Ricky : there was pretty

Lee Hatfield: Today i am repaying the favour of a person whose podcast I was on at the weekend. This is Ricky from Anything is Possible. It breaks down into further podcasts. We'll get onto that in a minute. But for now, Ricky and your cat.

Lee Hatfield: Good evening, sir. How are you?

Ricky : Yeah, yeah, we got to even get the cats are joining us over here. Actually, there's two right here. But yeah, appreciate you having me on. And we we loved having you on Sunday, a Sunday show, because and as that two hours flew by like it was nothing.

Ricky : All sudden, just looked up I'm like, wow, it's done.

Lee Hatfield: Yeah, and it's like last night I was on a 90-minute one, and you just the talking just flows, and you go, oh, the 90 minutes is up.

Lee Hatfield: Where did that go? And it goes so quick when you when you get into deep conversations. so

Ricky : Absolutely. Absolutely.

Lee Hatfield: So what we're going to do, as I was speaking about off-air, you're actually from the Mississippi area, so right down at the bottom of the of the country.

Ricky : Absolutely. Yeah, I'm closer. I was born in born in Memphis, and then then I moved to North Mississippi and stuff a few years ago.

Ricky : Memphis is a little rough, just a little bit. So, yeah, I'm right here, right here. The lovely Delta where humidity's heat indexed by 113. don't know what it is today. Probably 110, 108.

Ricky : Nice, nice day to get out. And, you know, you don't have to pay for a sauna. You just step outside. You got your, you know, God-made sauna. You just get out in.

Lee Hatfield: Yeah, we're actually having a bit of a rough July. I think we broke the record for the most rain since about 1888 or something crazy like that.

Ricky : Oh, wow.

Lee Hatfield: We've had, I think, over 100 and something millimetres of rain in July. It's absolutely crazy, but it's extremely humid as well. So obviously the humidity causes the storms and then yeah it's just a snowball effect.

Lee Hatfield: So yeah so let's start let's go back to the very beginning.

Ricky : Absolutely.

Lee Hatfield: How did you first get interested into the paranormal?

Ricky : just, uh, I remember, you know, always been interested in it. I mean, when I was a little kid, I remember watching, you know, watching the shows with my, uh, with my parents and my grandma and stuff like that. I remember watching, uh, like Ghostbusters came out, you know, in 84. It was, it was, uh, I think I seen that at the theater. I think my parents took me to there, you know, and, I remember watching, like, uh, always watching different stuff.

Ricky : Like, I remember that show where V had come on. Me my grandma used to watch that all the time.

Lee Hatfield: Oh, yeah.

Ricky : And, you know, just all kinds of just, you know, sci-fi or Star Trek and Star Wars and just different, you know, different TV shows and stuff.

Ricky : and and stuff like that just kind of got me to pique my interest and then then as I get older and I just had things happen to me as I went along so it's pretty been pretty pretty wild ride for me uh you know so I had a had a belief in it I think you know I thought you know and then like said as I as I've gotten older and the more things that you know i don't try to go search for things but you know the stuff that's happened sometimes and you you run into i've had some pretty amazing stories and stuff and you know situations that turn into stories you know through my years and uh it's been it's been fun

Lee Hatfield: So let's go back to your first experience. What happened there?

Ricky : I had my first experience, like, remember, like, for, like, ghosts and stuff like that, remember seeing, was at a friend's house one night, and and him were sitting there, and he had one those, they had one of them huge dens that was over the garage kind deal, you know, had, like, they had turned into a playroom and stuff, and I was we were, we were playing in there, and we happened to catch our corner eye, and,

Ricky : and looked out the window. And so in the neighbor's house, like the window, the blind was up and and, it looked like, like a, a tornado was going through this inside this room. It had lights and stuff was getting launched and we were both right there. And I, I never forget it. Cause I was just like, you know, what in the world is that? And he was, I don't know. you know and And you get to see just,

Ricky : this light and colors and this stuff getting thrown. And really was like, like a, like a little, I always described like a, like a little tornado or something there, just stuff getting launched. And I'm like, okay. And I never went back over there again. i stayed And I never went back to his house. Cause I was like, Nope.

Lee Hatfield: Yeah.

Ricky : Uh, that was yeah no wild, know, for, but for my first like ghost story and anything like that was, that was that one, you know, uh, And they're just like, wow, you know, for being, because like said, I've watched the shows and stuff like that. And it's like, it was no big deal. And then actually seeing something like that in front of me was absolutely freaked me out. And I was like, oh, I'm not going to do that no more. i ain't going over there.

Lee Hatfield: And was that your friend's house or was that just a neighbor's house?

Ricky : It was at my friend's neighbor's house. So, like said, we were in his house, and then we looked out the window, and we could see something going on inside of their house.

Lee Hatfield: Right.

Ricky : And, like said, the window was open, like the shade or something like so you could see right into the other room right across there, you know. And then again, like I said, it just looked like like a tornado stuff, just stuff flying around and lights and blue and white lights. And it was I don't know what still I mean, I can just kind of picture it.

Lee Hatfield: Now that you have been doing podcasts and things for a while, do you have any idea what you think it could be?

Ricky : I've talked to some, and I've talked to some, you know, others about it, and as one of them

Ricky : probably, my my guess was, you know, one of my guess was other people, you know, maybe actual, like, a poltergeist-type situation going on, you know, is what, you know, I thought that time, and then, and it kind of others are kind of like, yeah, that's probably what it was, you know, with it.

Ricky : but they're using that, having that kind of energy to be able to launch stuff and with the, you know, lights and everything else, it was, that's what I've always been told. And, and like said, that's what kind of popped in my head was a poltergeist, but,

Lee Hatfield: And, and the fact that it was your friend's neighbour's house, was there any ever any kind of communication with that neighbour to say what had happened or anything like that?

Ricky : I don't know if he ever did. Like said, I never went back over there. Like I was, it, uh, like, you know, being a kid, I actually really scared me. And I was like, I, you know, it just like, Nope, I'm not going over there, but no more. And, mean, I, I truly, I like, I stopped talking to him a little bit. Like it, it freaked me out. You know, we, we stayed each other at school and stuff like that. But after i like moved schools and stuff, uh,

Ricky : no I lost contact with him. and So I don't know if he ever went over there and did see what it was, but I know I never i never stepped foot and near it.

Lee Hatfield: Yeah, you coming over? No, why not? Don't want to. So and how old was you when this was happened?

Ricky : Oh, man. Let's see. Probably around nine, I guess.

Lee Hatfield: So that was your first instance when you were nine. Moving forward, what what kind of what else has happened to you in your younger years?

Ricky : younger years i had i possibly seen a possible ufo going down the highway and then i had a i thought at the time which i still could have been i remember having a conversation who uh I thought it was an angel but standing in my room.

Ricky : about the round and It was all pretty close around the same time, you know. I remember not being scared at all, just sitting there having a conversation with with dude and and not asking him why why in the world is he standing in my room? He had kind of like like an energy and just talking to him.

Ricky : i wish them wished on everything I could remember what was said or whatever, but remember I remember that... And then I remember the UFO going coming home, looking out out the window and seeing it was a clear day except for one like cloud. And it looked like had lightning and stuff inside the cloud.

Ricky : And I remember I was, once we had her you know better access like internet and Google and stuff like that, once it came around, And was trying to look it up, and i remember for a long time, i was like, man, there's got to be a you know normal reason for this. you know it's a you know It's this kind of cloud or this kind of situation whatever. And I really never found any kind of really good example but of it other being a UFO. you know It was...

Ricky : You know, but without without any other clouds and just the way it looked, it was kind of, you know, it was it was like something was being kind of cloaked behind that cloud, but the lights and stuff were coming out of it. and But memory-wise, I think that was my three when I was younger. Like I said, I've had several since I've gotten older, but those three there for sure when I was younger.

Lee Hatfield: And yeah, I'm quite envious of people that have had experiences when they were younger, because yeah when I was on your podcast on Sunday, I yeah i mentioned about when my first encounter was, but i was this was like 20 odd years ago, where it's like, yeah, we were similar age.

Lee Hatfield: I was the biggest skeptic. for the longest time so at what point in your life would you have said okay there's something in this world that's not of this world and i want to kind of look into it further

Ricky : and so I've always had, you know, kind of interest just, you know, watching, you know, different shows and, you know, and and then seeing like, used to watch the Ghost Hunters shows and all the time and everything. And actually, I had them playing in the background while I was working, working on some towel in my bathroom. I had it in the background that's playing or like some old episodes from like season one and stuff like that. i Just, you know, I had that interest, you know, and I think, and My biggest issue, you know, i had, him and especially when I was younger, was, like, you know, really be able to, who who can I talk to about this stuff, you know, like, without somebody thinking I'm out of my mind, you know. Because there's, like, certain things, you doesn like who you know, it's hard to, like, put together, like, how do you explain this or what what is this, you know. And and it that was the hard part. I, like, I did kind of research. I read, you know, I watched documentaries on

Ricky : I've probably seen a thousand documentaries, you know, more in my lifetime and books and read books and everything else on it. But, you know, actually having a discussion with somebody, you know, here and there, if somebody else brought it up and I'm like, all right, cool. I can talk about this. And, you know, we go along the down the rabbit hole a little bit, but, but I, you know, for forever, I've always tried to figure it out and wonder, you know, even pulling scripture and seeing, know, talk about stuff like that. And,

Ricky : you know, just just that yearning to, you know, find a knowledge and to find out what the kind of, you know, what what the truth is or or the possibility of the truth and, you know,

Lee Hatfield: And I think that's, you know we, as I said earlier, that you and I are of a similar age. When we were kids and teenagers into our early 20s, you never, ever spoke about it because people thought you were nuts.

Lee Hatfield: And it doesn't matter if it was a, you thought you saw saw a UFO or you thought you saw a ghost or cryptid or whatever. People never spoke about it.

Lee Hatfield: Whereas now there's like, well, we're on a podcast talking about it. There's all these TV shows and every man and his dog has now got a story.

Ricky : and Absolutely. know I was talking... I was talking to a friend of mine the other day, and we were having discussion, and he was asking me, like, how my podcast was going. And, you know, and not and it was it was Friday. cause So I was like, I was telling about you coming on and everything. he was talking about it, and he was like, well.

Ricky : And he turned around, and, well, I've had this one thing happen to me. And so he actually was able to tell you know tell a story, and like, you know, And so it was, it is nice. It's nice. We were able to have places where we can talk about this stuff and not get that judgmental. Like going to lock you, you know, worry about somebody going to throw jacket on you or something.

Ricky : you know, it's, it is good to be able to talk about things. And, and like, we talked about it on our, you know, uh, you know, lot this stuff is like, there's no way to really prove somebody's, you know, what they're saying is wrong.

Ricky : you know, if you weren't there, you know, so it's and i like, like, well, that's why the, you know, the, the main channels, anything is possible. and And I really believe that because they're like, you know, anything's possible, you know, could we have cryptids?

Lee Hatfield: yeah.

Ricky : Could we have this? Could this could be this, you know, and it and it could be all the above, you know, and You know, I don't like, like we've talked about it, you know, also Sunday, you know, like putting up in the box. Like, hey, this is this. It's got to be, you know, it's got to be a ghost or it's got to be UFO or alien. It's got to be, and I don't i don't believe in it. It's got to be, it's, I think it's, so it could be a variable that answers and but the with anything that is possible, you know, in the background of it.

Lee Hatfield: That's it. And yeah I do hate it in this day and age where we've got we've got the AI, we've got Photoshop.

Ricky : Thank you.

Lee Hatfield: And if you go onto Facebook, somebody will post a picture. Well, what do you see in the background? Well, I see a campfire. Yeah, but what do you see in it?

Lee Hatfield: Flames. And it's like, yeah, but what do you see in it?

Ricky : from

Lee Hatfield: Nothing. Yeah, but can you not see that? No, that's what's called pareidolia. And then you explained, no, no, I could definitely see something. It's like, no, you can't.

Lee Hatfield: It is pareidolia. And is yeah a lot of people do not understand or they don't care about the fact that the brain can change your perspective of what you're seeing just but just so it's something that you recognize.

Lee Hatfield: yeah Like Jesus on the to on a piece of toast or yeah the face on the moon. the brain will put it into something that it thinks you can recognize, like a face, for example.

Lee Hatfield: And like a lot of people, nope no, no, you're wrong. I'm not having any of that. And it's like yeah it's unfortunate that we've got to that point in in life now where people are either so gullible or they just want to believe what they think is real.

Ricky : Mm-hmm. They're so adamant that they have to be right, and they have to be, you know, this is it, you know. You know, it's one of things that's, you know, like talking about like on the Ghost Hunter show, I always liked it because they're always trying to debunk. Like, okay, what is this? Oh, that was an air conditioner. Oh, that was us walking by, and so it – you know, that heat in the signature or whatever popped up, you know, mean, you need have to have an open mind and critical. You know, it can always be different things. It could be shadows of a person. You don't realize they were there.

Ricky : You know, so everybody needs to have a, you know, a critical, I think, you know, have a critical mind on like, you know, asking questions on that, just taking it at face value, and especially right now with, like you said, AI and Photoshop and, and there's so much stuff out there. It's really, really hard to even consider some of this stuff. You know, i've I've had other people come on the show and talk about that. And he was like, people come up and like he said, or bring a picture. Like, what do you think? No, I'm like,

Ricky : Where's picture? You know, that's about it.

Lee Hatfield: Yeah.

Ricky : You know, i can't really do nothing. You know, especially when you have no context, you know. There's no context with a picture. Like, hey, here it is. All right.

Lee Hatfield: Yeah.

Ricky : Well, you know, what else is there? What is around the corner? What is, you know, what is other light? Where's the lights at? You know, when you're actually looking at a picture, you got to, if you really want to try to debunk it, you got understand, okay, here's where the lights are. Here's where this is at. Here's where that's at. You know, really break it down and, okay,

Ricky : And then once you do all that and there's still something there, hey, you got something. But if you, you know, you until you do all that process, then you can't, you know, go, ta-da.

Lee Hatfield: Exactly.

Lee Hatfield: Yeah, and it you're absolutely right, because yeah I teach a four week course on paranormal equipment. And yeah the first week's on your video and your audio, yeah buy what you can afford. But learn how to use your pieces of equipment.

Lee Hatfield: The second week is on the analysis side of it. So you're talking about your tri-field, you're talking about your anomameter for picking up breezes and wind and stuff like that, and all the technical stuff that people use in construction.

Lee Hatfield: Then the third week, it's all the bells and whistles, the REM pods, the K2, and all those kind of stuff. And then the week four is... old school, so yeah like your dowsing rods and your Ouija board and stuff like that. But I'm honest with people. It's sort of like if you've got a piece of equipment, number one, you need to know how to use it correctly.

Lee Hatfield: yeah You need to understand if you're recording something, what lens flare is. You need to understand if the strap of the camera gets in the lens. You need to understand what orbs are yeah and things like that. And a lot of people just go, no, put the blinkers on and then just look straighter. I want to believe that this is what this is.

Lee Hatfield: Okay, then up to you.

Ricky : Yeah, I mean, I think that some of it is just, you know, they want, sadly, you know, it's a social media recognition kind of thing. Hey, look what I've seen. And, you know, and then have people go, oh, you know, and, you know, and and just chirp about it or whatever and talk about that.

Ricky : think that's part of it. But, yeah, you just, you know, you you got to be able to look into this stuff and look and see. like I said, understand how stuff works, you know.

Lee Hatfield: Exactly. So have you outt do you actually go on any investigations at all?

Ricky : I haven't, I'm leaning towards, i always said I don't, but I don't know. I'm, I'm kind of slowly creeping along that I probably would eventually, you know, like I did. I, I tried to do something the other day and, and it, uh, instead it just freaked me out more, but I went to, to, um,

Ricky : I have a family burial ground there down way down Mississippi. We have tombstones and and there's graves there from the late 1700s and stuff and go all way back to my family on on my mom's side.

Ricky : And we had gone down there and for a homecoming where the church had a... They were eating and everything, and we'd come in there, and we were going to clean up the cemetery, but they had already cleaned it up. and And so we kind of got distracted a little bit, and Mom wanted to go in there and clean up my grandparents' tombstone and my great-grandma and make sure, you know, clean it all the way up. And she was like, I forgot, I forgot. said, well, I'll take care of it. You know, you I got you.

Ricky : I'll take care So I went down there, got me a scrub brush and some Dawn and everything bucket and went down there and and some water, and turned around was cleaning on it.

Ricky : And was like, I'm going to freak myself out today. So I put my GoPro out there, and I had a full-charged GoPro. out I put it on the little stand, put it on there on the bucket.

Ricky : had little clamp mount right there, so I had the bucket there would come of behind me. and And I'm sitting here, duke to do you know, cleaning on the tombstones and and going back and forth. And I didn't pay any attention to it. I just did what i was supposed to do, and And all I got was a minute and a half of recording before the battery died.

Ricky : Like it sapped all my battery. and And I'm like, okay. I was like, the one time I try to do something, But, you know, and then my son-in-law is even messing me. said, did you – have you put another battery in there? and I was like, I haven't touched that GoPro since I've – since I had that happen. was I i't even touch the damn thing. I'll be honest with you.

Ricky : But I need to, you know. So, like said, i don't think I'm open to it. I had – I was at some Indian Caves

Ricky : weekend for – I don't know. It was – out in arkansas in the ozarts you know was i found in some uh it's on the hair uh heritage thing and but there's some it was pretty cool like it was a one spot was a home and i think they thought that one spot was like a like a school it was way off in this cave and stuff was really cool looking And I was like, well, and I, cause I know, cause part of the thing I'm, I'm worried about a little bit, cause I know I'm kind of sensitive on, don't see it, like film and stuff and sensitive on, you know, seeing stuff. So I'm like, I'm just a scared. Like, want to bring nothing home, but you know, I always, you know, hear people talk about it and having to, you know, be able to control that. And I'm like, well, I know how to control it. I just don't go where I ain't supposed to go. Yeah.

Ricky : But I went in there and I was like, well, I'm anna record real quick. And I recorded and i was like, and you can hear my recording. I don't catch anything, but man, it was,

Ricky : the hair on my, like my legs stood up even. Like everything just stood straight up and I'm like, all right, there's something here. I was like, all right, I'm getting out here.

Ricky : And just, I walked back out the cave and everything relaxed with it. I was like, you know, it was pretty, pretty amazing. You know, like I said, that but I didn't catch anything on my video. I watched it back a few times. It was a real quick video. I just kind of took it with my phone real quick. So like I said, I'm good.

Ricky : I'm easing into it. had a friend mine talking about she's going to send me a spirit box so i can I can take it back to my family burial ground and use it, but we'll see about that. i don't know.

Lee Hatfield: well it And that's the thing. i yeah I've got two or three different versions of spirit boxes. And yeah yes, I will use them at an investigation.

Lee Hatfield: However, and I tell so many people this, if you switch it on and you hear a word, the word has to fit the investigation.

Lee Hatfield: And what I mean by that is if if you say, what day is it? And it says it's Friday, then that fits the investigation. If you ask what day it is and it comes out with Chinese food or beefcake, that is completely irrelevant. It's got nothing to do with the investigation.

Ricky : Mm-hm.

Lee Hatfield: And I tell so many people that. And yeah, like we mentioned, PowerDalia, we've got audio pareidolia as well, where again, the brain will try to make you think that what you heard was your name, for example, yeah and stuff like that.

Lee Hatfield: So even though we have these pieces of equipment, we are still testing it every time we use it. Well, what did we hear?

Lee Hatfield: What do we think it said? And is there any chance that it did say what we said? But then if you ask a question and it comes, yeah yeah what colour is that table? And it says it's blue.

Lee Hatfield: That's pretty. Yeah, it's going to be. Yeah, no, you can't deny that's that that that didn't just happen, but they are very few and far between.

Ricky : Mm-hmm.

Ricky : yeah I can see that, you know.

Ricky : Like said, most of the time, I just try not to mess, you know, i don't know, how but it it is... It has my curiosity peaked on a lot of things, and I go to places, and and i I keep fire running and having situations happen. So, like, i want to I went to Shiloh couple years ago now with my parents, and we heard – I actually heard faint cannon fire and I actually heard music play going across there.

Ricky : And, and it was one of them, like, I'm just driving. Cause we had the music out. were by ourselves as my parents and my, my brother and my mom was up in the front in the passenger seat with me, you know, and I was driving.

Ricky : My brother my dad was in the back, and were riding along, windows down, and just easing along, probably not even doing like five miles an hour, just idling, basically. So we could kind of look around and see, because they have a path going through there, so you can go through and see all the sites where, you know, there was different battles and stuff, and, you know, for during the Civil War, and and you we were riding through, and all of sudden we heard, like, light trumpet music just come across there.

Ricky : And I was like, well, I was sitting there walking straight ahead. I was like, what in the world was that? But I didn't say nothing. I just kept looking forward. I'm like, all right. I didn't hear that. And then all sudden my mom turns and looks at me. She's like, you heard that, didn't you? I'm like, yeah, I did hear that.

Ricky : Because she knows, you know, especially now after hearing, and you know, me being more open about stuff. And then and then my mom was, then I found out, like, I come from a long line of people being sensitive all way back. So was like, okay.

Ricky : But then we were riding along, and all a sudden we heard a faint, like, musket fire or cannon fire, real faint. And they were shooting cannons that day. They were doing that, but it wasn't until another 45 minutes before they shot the cannon off.

Ricky : So when we were at, there was no cannon fire, nothing like that. And, course, that i when they shot that cannon off, it was... right, you know, no doubt and when it shot off to the whole, know, smile is the way you can hear it.

Lee Hatfield: Yeah.

Ricky : And, but it was real faint. and same thing. Mom turned, looked at me. It's like, you heard that too, didn't you? Like, yeah, I did. And it was, uh, I keep me when ask my brother and my dad, like, Hey, did y'all hear that too that day? Or was it, you know, but, uh, I don't know what they think on it, but you know, uh, it's one things, but, you know, knowing that mom turned and then she came on my show several weeks back, a couple of months ago and she sold her side of and her things. And it was, it was pretty, pretty amazing. So, yeah, it's just, I, I go places and it happens, stuff happens. And, uh,

Ricky : You know, but I, you know, it's cool, like going around and, and, and I try to, I mean, trying to do like, if I go to thrift stores and stuff like that, I try to be open minded. I'm like, okay, me.

Ricky : Cause I, I don't want to bring something home.

Lee Hatfield: Yeah, yeah, makes sense.

Ricky : I got enough stuff here in this, in this, in in my place that, uh, possibly you know haunted i don't need to bring any extra home so you know try to be if i like really just feel how you know real deep you know there's something going on here i just okay know walk away yeah yeah absolutely yeah

Lee Hatfield: especially with all the Especially with all these masks that you've got behind you. So my so on one or two of those got to be haunted, my friend.

Ricky : yeah yeah

Lee Hatfield: so So at what point did you decide that you wanted to talk talk to people about it? And how did the Anything Is Possible franchise, let's call it, because you've got two different branches, how did that come about?

Ricky : I had people trying to talk you know me talk about me. and i was like, you need to, you know especially with a podcast and stuff, you need to do something like that you knew I was like, oh I don't know what you're talking about. night so You get the voice for it. I was like, whatever. i you know I just blew people off. and I was like, you're you're crazy. and then i was like Then one day I just started recording myself and putting it out on Spotify. I didn't even tell nobody. I didn't tell. Not a soul.

Ricky : For months. Then I found the Trouble Minds radio group and the Trouble Minds radio show. And then I found Les DeJes Rogge.

Ricky : I found her and a few others. And then I was like, and And really, you know, and I leaned towards like the troubled minds because they he was talking about like a little bit everything. Like one day he could be, you know, it was so different and actually talking about like fringe ideas and different eyes thoughts, processes on all kinds of stuff.

Ricky : And I was like, that's cool. I can, maybe I can do that. And had people who like, hey, why don't you do live stream? Like, okay. And I started doing a live stream and my Wednesday show was supposed to be

Ricky : you know, a blend. I've, I've actually had people that, you know, uh, Bigfoot experts come on on my Wednesday show and I've had all kinds of, and I've had politicians and a little bit of everything come on there. And then, and then just the way the world is, it kind of lean, leans more politics.

Ricky : And until I get tired of talking politics and then I show cat videos and at the end, just to kind of balance stuff out, you know, and this feel good videos, i always try to end with feel good videos to kind of bring the spirit back up and bring everything be more positive.

Ricky : But, and then i was like but i don't get to talk about the fun stuff i don't get to talk about ghosts and and and and goblins and and bigfoot and all this other stuff i really don't get to talk about it like i want so i was like i'm gonna do i'm gonna do another show i'm gonna start to do a show on and and in trouble minds at the time had he had taken a break and i said well that'd be maybe i can fill in for him while he's taking a little break and not, you know, recording anything. i was like, well, I'll just start this. And then I reached out to James and told him what I wanted to do. And he was like, I'll be there.

Ricky : And so James is, uh, from South Cedar paranormal. He, he's been there ever on every show, just, uh, you know, helping me out and we bounce stuff out, you know, and, And now it's been pretty – it's been fun. I've had a lot – you know, I've had, like, you Owen and so many other guests come on and talk – tell their stories or from ghost hunters to everything in between now. And it's it's been it's been fun to be able to talk to this Karen Carpenter. She's always like the woo-woo stuff.

Ricky : i see You get to talk about the woo-woo stuff, you know, and and stuff that, you know, everybody –

Lee Hatfield: Oh yeah. Yeah. yeah

Ricky : And, and it again, it's like, you know, I have a small footprint in it, but it's still, I like to be, there's a place to be able to have a conversation. And then I always try to be real good with, with the chat and interact with the chat, you know, and hate it.

Ricky : Cause like our first one, James, myself was like, we we're going talk about like i don't know we'll just we'll just swing it you know like all right and next thing we know we're on there for five hours because part of it was the chat we were sitting there talking back and forth and telling stories or whatever and and then the chat started asking questions what about this here or what about this object or and so we went go down that rabbit hole and then and then the chat swing us another way and and like said next thing we know it's five hours in you know it's

Ricky : it's it's nice to have a bunch of you know smart chat you know and it has a wide variety of you know interests and you know especially like stuff on the paranormal and ufos and like said cryptids and you know i like all that stuff it's you know it's it's unique in and and it pushes them boundaries of you know what it is absolutely possible you know

Lee Hatfield: Yeah, and you're absolutely right, because I've been doing this for just about 18 months now. And some of the stories that you hear, i my jaw just drops. And you go like, number one, it's like, how is that possible that you've experienced that?

Lee Hatfield: But like we said earlier, we can't call people a lie just because we weren't there. You've had things happen to you. I've had things happen to me. But it's a personal experience.

Lee Hatfield: So would you say that you've had any jaw-dropping moments in your podcast that you can talk about where you've just sat there and gone, i i don't know what to say now?

Ricky : I've had a few that, you know, it was like, I had one the other day it was it was a, I'd have to look back. Which one?

Ricky : I can't think of the show. I feel bad. I was short enough to shout them out. But they came on and and talked. I'm terrible with names and stuff. That's one of my weaknesses of me. and But and they they' were taught but the the story just blew my mind. But were they're doing a had like I forget that they had bells or just a meter there where, you know, light it up or whatever. And they're sitting there talking and they actually, what they actually registered and got to interact with.

Ricky : And when they're asking the questions was actually a, a taxidermy animal inside this glass cage. and you know they asked well are you this and it was like ding and it hit the light you know it was i was like i never heard that my life like somebody i was like i don't doubt it mean i was like you know of course like we said we can't prove it you know yay or nay but i was like man i never heard that in my life and and there's you know there hour there somebody many's things are things that happen and and

Lee Hatfield: Yeah.

Ricky : You know, people, you know, that it's the amazing part, you know. I'm trying to think of another one, but I know just that's just recent last few weeks. Within the last month, came on and it was like, whoa.

Ricky : never I've never heard that. i but like I know I've heard others do it. I mean, I've had a situation where I was using a flashlight to you know at work one time and because it just came on all of sudden on me. and And started asking questions. had a flashlight going on and off.

Ricky : And me and a friend of mine were sitting in there at the office one night, real night, and you know and got to ask a few questions and then stopped doing it for a while. but you know And then we went over and messed with the flashlight. Like, okay, how did this...

Ricky : you know But the plant wasn't running. There was no vibration. There was nothing going on. So I was like kind of maybe kind of wondering, hey, did we actually get to talk to somebody there? But, you know, there's so many amazing stories. And and then, like, James, he goes and finds stories and listens to what he finds. And some of it's just mind-blowing. Like I couldn't imagine me going through that kind of situation. you know If I did, i wouldn't know what to think myself, you know.

Lee Hatfield: and it yeah you're You're right, because it's like, how would I react to a situation that my guest is telling me that they've just been part of?

Lee Hatfield: And it kind of blows your mind. like yeah I've had somebody who thinks she was attacked by a fairy and she was vomiting soil.

Ricky : Mm-hmm.

Lee Hatfield: which is extremely hard to believe, and she wouldn't have told me, but she had two friends with her that saw her vomit soil.

Lee Hatfield: so it's like yeah So you've got two witnesses to something that's kind of like really out there, really out of this world. yeah And you get those kind of stories, and it's like, wow.

Lee Hatfield: And I've got a friend who says wow a lot. tomm Tommy Cullen. And he does he literally just says wow all the time. And it's right, though. It's sort of like, you know wow, you' not a lot oh, my God, or yeah words of that effect. And it's very difficult to comprehend what these people are telling you.

Lee Hatfield: And they were there experiencing it. And it's like, wow. And it's as simple as that.

Ricky : Yeah, you know, luckily I've had a few that actually had people there. a lot of times it's just me by myself. So was like, okay, it's me. You know, like I had, but the one I actually on wanted it that blew my mind.

Ricky : I actually had people there with me was, uh, so in Memphis, there's a national cemetery where, you know, we're all soldiers and stuff are buried and it's full. You can't, you can't get buried there no more. They have a, they built a new one outside of town. It's in town, but it's on the, you know, suburbs area of Memphis. And, that's actually what my grandfather is actually buried, but, and, and they turn around we were, and somehow,

Ricky : I got turned around and I got on the backside of that cemetery. And when I did, I started driving right beside it and my car cut off this. And I was like, what's wrong with this thing? It don't do this. and like You know, have no problems. And I turned and looked and I, and, and there's literally thousands of orbs flying across this cemetery with no lights on out of there.

Ricky : Two or three o'clock in the morning. and And me freaking out. Me sober, I remember I hadn't drank or anything. I had never done drugs. I used to drink, but I hadn't drank that night. And I was just like, and I remember, and then looked at the end the road. It was like a movie. It really was like a freaky movie. Because all of a sudden, headlights pop on his car at the end of this road at me, too.

Ricky : And I'm like, please, car, crank up. Just crank up for me. if you ever love love me car, get this, get me out of here. And finally the car cranked up and I spun it around and get out of there. But it it was amazing just seeing just that light and a little floating across there. And, and I guess, I don't i don't know, maybe, you know, they, they use the energy from the car to manifest. The only thing I could think of that, you know, but it was actually just, just talking about it has, you know, just,

Ricky : chills and it's just like one of life-changing stories or situations i've ever had you know

Lee Hatfield: So if you had to pick one particular genre of the paranormal, read with me cryptids, UFO, ghost spirits, whatever, which one would you pick?

Ricky : That would be a hard one. It really was. i Like I said, I've always liked to all like you know all the the different sides of things, but I guess yeah i guess the ghost side of things, though. i would you know If I had to pick one of them, and it it'd probably be on that side. and it was, just like I said, I've had an interest in it and wondering.

Ricky : You know, what ifs and whys and, you know, my whole my whole life really. on

Lee Hatfield: yeah I think I would have to go for the same simply because I haven't really experienced any cryptid, what i'm aware I'm aware of, or any UFOs or UAPs, but I've gone down the ghost and spirit route.

Lee Hatfield: yeah I've had my hand held, I've had my face stroked, that kind of thing. but force somebody or something to be able to communicate with you, if it yeah if they are real, from a different time in history.

Ricky : Mm-hmm.

Lee Hatfield: That would be quite fascinating if you could really communicate with them. yeah like Have a conversation like you and I are now. And that would be so so cool because I'm really big into my history as well.

Lee Hatfield: My third great grandfather fought in Waterloo, for example. Two of my uncles died in World War I've always had that fascination for history. So if yeah if you could kind of communicate with somebody from these different time periods, I think that would be pretty, pretty amazing and out there, to be honest.

Ricky : Absolutely. It would be it'd be amazing. I know there's a story where they talk. Man, what was at with that?

Ricky : i was trying to think the name of it. I did it like a little short on it. was And they were back in the 80s. I had somebody come through and it might pop in my head or something. But they were talking to somebody and like from the 1500s on a computer. And I'm not sure.

Ricky : I forgot exactly how, that what they were talking to to them on, like whatever, but they were having communication and then they actually talked to somebody from the future, supposedly, on this computer that had, you know, before internet, before any of that, you know,

Ricky : and it was a pretty, pretty wild story, but that would be amazing to be able to talk to somebody, you know, from the past or just, you know, have a, you know, and have a conversation and, you know, hey, by the way, look at, you know,

Ricky : tell me how it was and, you know, hear how it is now. And, you know, because, I mean, it's just completely different, you know, especially, you know, you just go back 50 years and be, is a, is night and day world.

Lee Hatfield: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I'm a bit, I'm a more so a big genealogy fan. So to if we could do that, I would literally go back to some of my family members and go, right, I need some details on this part of the family.

Ricky : Yeah.

Lee Hatfield: What can you give me?

Ricky : Absolutely.

Lee Hatfield: Yeah. So my friend,

Ricky : I know my mom would love that. My mom would love that right there. She's attracted our family back to like the 1500s and stuff like that.

Lee Hatfield: Oh,

Ricky : she's got She's got a binder probably that thick full of like, you know, going back in history and, you know, from our our heritage, from the side of the Irish and Scottish that came over here to, you know, even from the from the Indian tribes to, you know, everything that she can get her hands on. And and she's got the proof all way back.

Ricky : Like said, I'll be back to, i think she might be farther now. I know she was back to 1500s at one point.

Lee Hatfield: That's cool. I know one of my third great grandfathers took in, I think it was Charles Rolls from Rolls Royce as a lodger back in the 1800s. And we've actually got documentation about that. So that's pretty cool.

Ricky : Oh, wow.

Lee Hatfield: Yeah. So my friend, we are coming towards the end. So if you can tell people exactly where they can find you, please.

Ricky : yeah i'm on the it'll on youtube it'll say ricky anything is possible like on spotify apple and all them places like there be aip anything is possible which the aip just stands for anything is possible basically i'm saying it twice it was just how i had to do it to make it to use anything is possible because a lot of people use anything is possible and I'm on all the platforms.

Ricky : I go live stream on Rumble and YouTube. It's the two big ones and X and then plus all kinds of, you know, D-Live, Kick, Twitch, Facebook. I try to go as many places I can and spread it out, you know, and try to see – You never know what's going to hit. you know You never know who's going to connect.

Ricky : But you know all the platforms, I have videos out somewhere or shorts. And, yeah had you know, for sure, if anybody wants to come on, tell stories, i'm I'm always open to that or just come listen. Like so I said, get a luck great live stream. but The chat is wonderful. Like I said, very intelligent.

Ricky : And every once in a while, it gets a little... You know, it is what it is. But 99% of the time, you know, everybody's real, you know, agree to disagree kind of thing so hey you know if you don't agree with the item you know they'll sit there you know just have their just say their points and go on their way and they're happy you know it's so it's a it's a good place and stuff and uh but yeah tell them come on yeah y'all come on and check it out i said it's uh we have a good time and and on wednesday nights like i said we got cat videos and uh feel good videos at the end of live stream

Ricky : So that's the best part. everybody I've had people sit there for four hours, and they're like and as soon as I start the videos, like that's what I've been waiting on. and

Lee Hatfield: Wow.

Ricky : And, yeah, because I try to find and some of the fun stuff, you know, and and some fun videos. You know, I said cats or cats. seals raccoons whatever you know anything that kind of like i said bring especially like to what the world it is today and the landscape some of the stuff it gets pretty negative and pretty sideways and i always try to i like balance and so if i'm gonna bring people down i gotta i gotta turn around and bring them back up you know and especially when you you leave you're leave on a positive note you know so

Lee Hatfield: Absolutely. Well, my friend, it's been an absolute pleasure talking to you. I must have you back on so we can talk about all these masks that are behind you.

Ricky : Yes, sir.

Lee Hatfield: sure so I'm sure some of them are haunted. I'm sure some of them moved. But for now, my friend, thank you very much for your time. And I thank you for allowing me to come onto your podcast on Sunday.

Lee Hatfield: But for now, Ricky, thanks very much. You have a great rest of the evening.

Ricky : Yes, sir. You do the same now.

Lee Hatfield: yeah Take care. Bye-bye.
