Transcript

Speaker: Hey everyone, welcome back to Rolling Cross the Pond. I am UGM Jesse, and also the only one here. I have some news.

Speaker: actually cannot find this recording. As some of you may know that do podcasting and whatnot, there are some mishaps that happen. And sometimes as a smart thing, people bank episodes. So we record every week and in that we

Speaker: I have a lot of episodes that we can release. And due to life and whatnot, it does pile up, pile up, pile up. And thankfully, that means we have great content for you guys to have. The problem is that sometimes some things go wrong. Like this. I, for the life of me, cannot find this episode. It doesn't mean that it didn't happen.

Speaker: It doesn't mean that you guys are going to have some missing spots. It just means that I'm going to present it differently. And because of this, I will release two very short clips of our Patreon exclusives. Hopefully you'll enjoy those.

Speaker: but I guess I'll just jump straight into the walkthrough for this episode. The important parts of this walkthrough, because there's always shenanigans and whatnot, and I feel horrible by doing it this way, but it is literally the only way we can do as it was almost two years ago now. This episode was recorded and it's a hard realization to grasp for myself as I want to be consistent and

Speaker: helpful. Anyways, I'm talking too much. So, as a important moment walkthrough, the gang is back together. And that includes Avalon, Flamefeather, who you've heard last week. So they are all in Hava's tent, just sharing stories with one another about their adventures and what's to come and their ideas and that they missed each other.

Speaker: and heartfelt moments, I know, I know, it's sad. Now in that, these guys did have a lot of shenanigans that they were just talking about plans, different things that they needed to do, different opportunities that they could have. One of them was to go fix the pyramid, another one was to stop the fighting. I was really, Hava's agenda was to try and figure out how to unite this place again. How to stop the fighting, how to

Speaker: come at it at a diplomatic way and Caesar wanted to go to the pyramid and fix that I believe the others were kind of somewhere in the middle Avalon did leave the tent during this time because he wanted to and during this time Seven, the general of the camp as of right now walked towards the camp and

Speaker: gave Hava her to -do list as a royal. And Hava, being Hava, said, no, I don't want to do that. And Seven was like, well, you have to. These are your responsibilities. You are the royal. You are in charge here. You need to do these things. And she said no. And he got mad. They ended up tying up Seven, knocking him out, tying him up.

Speaker: after he tries to put them straight and as they weren't listening and just making jokes he cast a fire spell which caught the tent on fire which Avalon was a part of seeing what was happening

Speaker: He went in to see what was going on, and in that took the opportunity to maybe take charge of the camp and become Hava's right hand, maybe? But from there, Seven wakes up. Hava is confronted by all these wizards and soldiers, and their leader Seven accuses her of

Speaker: Because an uprising, I mean, it is her camp, so it's not necessarily that. But she didn't want to do her duties. And she attacked the general of the camp. A new person attacked someone who has fought side by side with their people. So in that, as she is a royal, she was put on house arrest with the rest of the gang. And Seven was also put on house arrest in his tent. And Avalon

Speaker: wasn't a part of it. He was able to liaise with Hava and so Hava asks him to recruit other non -fighters, the ones that don't want to fight during this war, the ones that want to make a difference but with their words and the path of peace and no longer fighting.

Speaker: they or Avalon talks with Chunk along with Hava. Hava also jumps in there and they give him the task to find followers that will want that want to stop the war in a peaceful manner and the rest of them are trying to figure out how to escape as they do have now now they do have two guards in front of their tent

Speaker: watching, listening for every move. Hopefully that catches you up on everything for what's to come. Now, enjoy these Patreon -exclusive episodes. So, Caesar is taking the ship out to sea, as that's happening. Let's pan over to the shore and see how Rita and Willy are taking this all in, or what's happened, you know, with the ship and all that.

Speaker: the camera pans over to the shore it sees reader you're running to the shore off the dock and and will you're coming from the shore from the sea after see there's thrown you into it and it wasn't like a deep throw it wasn't just you were able to walk out anyways but yeah it wasn't like you had to swim for hours

Speaker: Take it away. I want to be in, like, knee -high water, just kind of like having a tantrum. Just like, like, but like very angrily, like, these are big glass of water that I'm smelling. I'm throwing a couple of, like, molders, just like, ahh.

Speaker: Yeah. And, uh, reader, as you are running back to the shore, and let's say your footsteps, your front, uh, hooves, or however you hit your hands, or your, you know, I don't know how you're running on all fours or on two. But basically once that first step enters the shore, like the sand, the grass, you do hear him behind you. And you see Pawn's jumper. His eyes widen. Are you okay? Pawn?

Speaker: I hope Caesar's okay and just like points behind you. What's up with Caesar? Look behind you. That feels like a horror movie trap. Just look behind, he like grabs you and he's like, look behind you. Yeah, I'll look behind me. You see just the remnants of a cloud of smoke and the ship decimated and

Speaker: You hear screams and cries, but it's so far out that it's impractical to get to. But isn't he like half God or something?

Speaker: Let's hope he is. At this time, I want to walk up. If anybody would survive that, it would be him. Let's hope, but you have a baby. Well, yeah, I didn't make the baby. There is a baby. Yes, I have a baby. Not my baby. I didn't steal it. Obviously. Right. And there's so many other... What are these guys? I've never seen their kind before.

Speaker: Yeah, it's strange how, you know, I think this little one needs a home and the rest, I don't know, seems like they were being targeted. Should we, I don't know. How safe is your home? Nothing ever happens there. Do you want the baby? How about this? You take care of the child, we'll tend to the rest of them.

Speaker: What happened to the mom first? I don't want to just take it if it's one of those. Oh, yeah, she was. She was. She did. She was. Yeah. I tried my best, but she. Yeah. You know what? I'll take it. I'll take is a boy girl. Oh, I don't want to check you.

Speaker: OK, OK, I'll check later. I'll take the baby and you let me know what's going to happen. OK, if you want me to come back, please ask Wanda. We just need to get this baby some food, some water. I'll take him. Right. We'll take inventory here and help out. And he turns away and and he's just walking away. Don't worry, you're going to be safe with us. And you immediately forget that he has the baby.

Speaker: And you just see this record like these different crates and different fainite around. And yeah, you see one of them is kind of like trying to help the others. It's kind of a long slender, big nose kind of fainite.

Speaker: I'll go over and just start speaking with them, like casting healing word and just like trying to help out the best I can. Just being like, do you know who they were? Like, were you guys like carrying precious cargo or what's your end destination? We were just picking up supplies. I don't know what, you know.

Speaker: Well, we're not allowed here. This is not okay. So we were doing it in secret, but I don't know how they, I don't know what they were trying to do, what the plan was, but okay. He's like, yeah, we've been exiled. So we're not allowed to be here really. If they catch us, if anybody catches us, wait, who are you working for? No one.

Speaker: and just to be confusing like he's being honest but just because he doesn't know we're just agents of chaos oh okay um right you said you needed a safe place to be yeah i say i don't know we just need to get off this lamp it i mean is there a place we can lie low for a little bit do you know any i i know the place

Speaker: You sure? Yes. Can I trust you? And they're gonna, they're gonna roll in. I just want to play like a big smile on you asking us. Yeah. He says, he says, can I trust you? Because logically we would only have the answer. Yes. Because we are trustworthy. And so yes, but it's how you say yes, we're going to be trustworthy and be honest. So we're going to, we're helping them or just even though I was failing, so we say yes.

Speaker: He looks at you and he's just like, you know what, you saved us, you and that lion. Lion? Did I touch him? I think I touched him. That's a weird thing that he's saying. Don't worry about it, okay? Yeah, he just appeared after I knocked into him. Okay. I don't know. Right. So yeah, can you take us to this place and we'll lie low and

Speaker: Yeah. Cool. Thank you so much. Thank you. Like, and then the, the, this, the one of the other ones, a lady that's like two stacks, like muscle on muscle on muscle. And she's like, thank you.

Speaker: And she gives you a big hug. And he's like, ah, you actually saved my wife. So yeah, thanks. Thanks for that. I want to take them back to my village. OK, cool. Interesting. Kind of like not much really happens on the in -between, correct?

Speaker: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It'll basically be, this could be a time for you to split or you can go with the reader and then as he gets settled, you guys can split it. It doesn't matter at this point. That's what I was thinking it is. Sure. Do you guys head off to Willy's home, right? Or did you want to split it? Sure. Looking at you, Luke. Oh, I'm just trying to think if he needs... No, he might need help moving stuff and so I'll come with.

Speaker: We just kind of work as like escorts and protection on the way there. Sure, sure. I mean, yeah, you know, you sometimes have to hide. It takes a few days, maybe longer than normal because the amount of times you have to stop and put them in a certain spot.

Speaker: But you make your way to your family's cave. As soon as I show up, my family's just happy to see me. And then they see the company I'm in. Of course, they welcome Reader with open arms, because that's just whether he liked it or not, he was adopted into our family.

Speaker: But I go to the elders of my family and stuff. I'm just like, hey, this is the situation. They have no way to get home. I just need you to protect them and help them in any way possible. And pretty much without asking questions or anything like that, my family just accepts it and is just like, yes, we know what you're doing is right and this is the right thing to do.

Speaker: cool great so yeah that kind of happens and and they get like their own little not necessarily corner but they get you know they kind of join the farming they're used to pulling their own weight they're used to you do see them rage out which really does help progress like you guys do things i mean with the new machinery and stuff they get that you also have from being a part of chaos and stuff is also helpful but yeah they just become one of the pack in a way

Speaker: Yeah, so things start settling down. I want to like motion to reader and be like, Hey, follow me to my hut. Okay. When we get there, I immediately want to walk in and just start packing things up into my bag. Oh, like all my like essentials and like things that like I hold dear to me, like not even like grabbing every, everything. I just want to say, you're my best friend. I consider you like a brother reader. Um,

Speaker: but I don't know where I'm going in life. And I don't know if you'd want to follow me, but I do know I can't just stay here. I need to go out and figure things out. Like after that, like I reach into a drawer and I pull out like a brand new, like really nice, like side sack, like book bag. And it has like a 50 foot cord of rope wrapped around like this. It almost looks like Indiana Jones, like satchel and like rope.

Speaker: nice but instead of a whip it's just a rope and i'll be like i want you to have this i know you need to be prepared and you know this this seems like it'll fit several books for you oh thank you yeah i'll take it so many gifts like with the my parents bones and a bunch of ropes on me now but i want a hug can i hug you yeah yeah just just just a big old hug yeah you notice i smell a lot nicer since i was thrown in the ocean

Speaker: Yeah, let's force fungi. But yeah, really, it's, it's been a long and good friendship through ups and downs, super spies to only tries, but now we must say goodbye. And whatever you do, whatever you said to go, or if you stay, I wish you only the best.

Speaker: And at that moment, really, you hear like a chime or a ding or some sort of noise. And you, after that, in your being, in your body, you feel this wave. And the only thing you can tell that's different, reader,

Speaker: is on the shoulder he's got like a swirl but it's like a golden fur and it creates the symbol of luck but it's not just there it literally flowed throughout his body and on his bones so he is forever lucky kind of like serendipity serendipitous as well just that flow of he's in the right place at the right times he

Speaker: I get a Spidey sense where I'm like, all right, maybe not that way. Traffic lights exist. Every single time he approaches it, it turns green. Not even it turns green. He just so happens to show up at the green moment. I'm just like, where is my sickle? And then like I go to scratch my face and it's in my hand. Oh, put it in my. Yeah. Yeah. So I love that. Yeah, that's cool. I like that.

Speaker: So yeah, so Willie, you also, you feel it, but you do see the new, the new feathers for gold on your shoulder. I'm gonna, I feel good, but I feel like Willie thinks it's because he had a good moment with the reader. Yeah. Like he doesn't realize what's going on yet. Okay.

Speaker: I'm gonna like grab all my stuff and then like head outside and like hug my mom and like the rest of my family. And like, I just kind of have like a, like reader could see us like talking and it's kind of like a serious talk and they're like, are you sure? Okay. Like we support you. And then I kind of want to be like, all right, reader, let's go. And then it was kind of like a, like a, like the, the farewell and, and, um,

Speaker: Fast and Furious, where we're just both going down the road, and then it just gets to the split. Yeah. Yeah, I like that. So yeah, with that, let's say, what do you do after, like, where will we kind of maybe see you after a year or two of this happen?

Speaker: I've truly become like a hermit slash like nomad there's just kind of I've become more of like a rumor like I just kind of drift from town to town and they'll just be like

Speaker: Oh yeah, like during the storm, I heard a commotion and then this guy was just nailing back down my roof or they'll just be like, oh, like there was a gang of dudes just trying to shake down a small like farmer's market and he just came by and just demolished them, like beat them up.

Speaker: And they're like, what? He beat them up in my town. He had tea with them and just talked to them and like kind of it's kind of like therapy and they all turn themselves in. Like, it's just like there's so much varying information. They just they just the keynotes is that they're like, oh, this big white fluffy thing is smelled like this. That's the constant throughout all all the stories. Cool. What about reader?

Speaker: Yeah, a little bit of the same just because he's always been kind of traveling, going from different kingdoms, still trying to figure out why or what exactly it was that prompted the library mafia, but he's just always kind of been targeted and he's like, ah, I got to avoid them. I'm sorry, it was like one day late.

Speaker: But yeah, going from a different place. And after splitting up from Willy, he's immediately regretted it. And it's like, I should have gone. I ought to remember this for next time. If there's anybody I care about, I'll know how to station. Oh, I love that. That's so good. OK, cool. Yeah, and then I think we know where Reader

Speaker: fine like ends up but do you guys meet up again in this time at all ever i think Luke you wanted to may i request that reader is at a new library at the moment sure he's at the library he hasn't been to

Speaker: Are you talking heavily populated? Does it matter the population? It doesn't matter. Let's say Winterhold. Yeah, he's in June's town. Before he went to Ecclesville. There you go. He's in June's town. All right, read it. You're deep in thought and reading a book. Yes. Okay. If you say so. You don't see anybody.

Speaker: Snakes. I knew it. It seems that there's a little bunny sitting across from you. It's just kind of hidden by your book across from you. Oh, hello. Looking towering over it. The bunny looks at you and just gives you the deepest look into you. You're like, this bunny is staring into my soul. And then it just transforms into Willy. Hey. And I just want to scream, happy birthday.

Speaker: You thought I'd forget, huh? At this time, I have dangerous hands, so I'll be fine. But you wouldn't sense danger from me. Yeah, I guess, yeah. So he falls back.

Speaker: You just see Willie like a lot more scars. There's like a break in his beak that's been like filled back in with silver and there's like mats of fur and like chunks of like feathers that have been ripped down. You see like scar tissue or like burn and lightning marks and stuff like that.

Speaker: Of course, his goatee has gotten longer with more like totems and beads like to represent everything. It's it's almost like one of those really nice like braided and beaded like Viking beards. And I'm like, one sec. Yeah, it can't be a birthday without it. It's really scary, brother. I look in my bag and I'm like, you know,

Speaker: I've been quite lucky ever since we left each other and I've always felt, you know, he had something to do with it. But I'm going to be honest, I forgot your birthday present. But hey, hey, buddy. And just the biggest, pleasing, like, back -cracking hug.

Speaker: I want to give them nice. And then like I grabbed my goatee. I'm like, look, it's a little moose. Oh, oh, oh, your presence is my present. Saved it. Yeah, I'll accept it. Oh, well, anyway, I just had the feeling that you were here, buddy.

Speaker: And, you know, I've always just, just, you know, I've missed you to be blunt and honest. I miss you so much. Right now I'm doing some contract work, but you and me, and I want to like pull out a sending stone and give it to him.

Speaker: And it kind of looks like a very muddied, very worn, kind of like the ones that we used to use. I'm going to be like, once I finish this job, you and me, sky's the limit. We're going to run this town, all right? But I needed to see you today because it is your birthday and I didn't want you to be alone. And I don't want you to be alone, that's where it came from. But things are going to look up for us, I promise.

Speaker: He's like crying. Yeah, that's true. And then I also grabbed a small little purse and I'm just like, hey, I know how much you miss these mushrooms. Probably shrooms, yeah. I heard they're good for studying and small doses. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker: I give him another like giant hug and I'm like, I don't want to leave, but it's a contract. But I promise I'm gonna find you. And Rita doesn't notice the squeezing because he's also squeezing as well. He just thinks it's him. Really thinks it's him. But hey, if you don't hear from me, call me. All right. Or if you need help, I will drop anything I'm doing and I'll be there.

Speaker: i promise and i just put a hand on him and then i transform into a gopher and run away okay bye i love you bye then never heard of again or heard from again not heard of for a long long so everyone yeah that's it that's from it chronicles any last thoughts any last i don't know things you guys want to say this is the end of reader for now for now who knows what'll happen

Speaker: of your loved ones and always share your tacos. Yes. Yeah, I just want to thank obviously, not obviously, but I want to thank Luke and Isaac for doing this. You know, we started out, I had kind of an idea of what we wanted, but these guys kind of just jumped into it and they separately created hermits. Like that, that was, that's kind of where it started. And so, yeah, I just want to thank them for jumping in this and

Speaker: hanging it on and making it way better than I could have ever imagined. So yeah, thank you guys. And it's been a lot of fun. I can't wait to see what happens next and what we have next. Bye. Luke waved and Isaac waved.

Speaker: Hello everyone, welcome back to Rollie Press the Pond. I am your GM Jesse for today, and we are doing a one shot, maybe a two shot. I don't know, it's gonna just be a random. This is for you Patreon people, most likely. I mean, we might put it on the main page, but I really just want it to go in a bit crazy, but also keep it simple.

Speaker: because these guys have a little less than or maybe about an hour to do this game. I might be nice and give them another day but yeah we're doing a meta games kind of not a meta games kind of a patreon exclusive just crazy one shot that

Speaker: I just wanted to see what we could do and see if these guys would have fun with it and see if yeah, you audience would enjoy it. So that's what we're doing today. I don't know what this segment is called, the Patreon exclusive. I don't know. But anyways, we are doing, I'm calling it the boy store for now. And we'll explain more about that in after the

Speaker: Players introduce themselves. Players take it away. You could go first. I'm quickly trying to finish playing my character together. Hey, I am Bex. I am Princess Sparkle Glow, who's a wood elf sorcerer. Yeah, for the toys. She's kind of going to be your classic little girl. Dolls, all magical, and of course a princess. Me? How's it? Good boy. How's it going? We're doing well.

Speaker: Tell your mother, Guardian, I said hi. I'm gonna be playing Hoot Cakes, which is a little stuffed owl that has little mechanics inside of it. It's kind of like a children's educational toy. It's adorable. This might be dating me a bit, but if you guys remember, kind of like a Teddy Rex bin, or the other ones where you have to put a little punch card in their back and it would activate a certain activity or something. Think of like that.

Speaker: And what is your D &D step? Like, what are you in D &D, Terry? I'm an owl in rogue. And so if you didn't get the thing about it, listeners, we are these guys are playing toys. They are on a toy mission today. We start out at the front of this toy store where there's a hustle bustle of traffic. Cars are parking up. There's a large car parking area where

Speaker: Many children are kicking and screaming for their mom to hurry, all to get to Toynado, the newest, hottest toy store in the town. Holding the, from the classics to the postmodern to, yeah, just every kind of toy you can desire. And so, because it is what it is, it's brand new, there is a massive sale on. And so there are a lot of families

Speaker: Now, this toy store is now connected to the local mall. We don't need to fully get into that just yet, but if these players end up going to the mall, then we will have to. So I will explain more about that later. But for now, the outside of this grand opening of a store, the Toynado, is commencing.

Speaker: And we're going to enter the store and look at all the commodities from card games to dice games, to regular toys, to video games. There's sections and upon sections, upon stalls, upon shelves, upon everything here. And we're gonna actually zoom closer. We're gonna zoom closer to these shelves. It is close to the end of the day,

Speaker: We're going to say you guys have been there for a while. So you know the ins and outs from like when you first were put on the shelves maybe a few months ago. For toys that could be a long time because for one thing you don't need sleep. So there's a lot that you can do in 24 hours, seven days a week. Obviously there's different ways you rest and different ways you gain your abilities but

Speaker: For this, for now, you guys are hidden underneath this shelving unit. And I say underneath, as in like, there's the squishmallows, there's like a load of them on these shelves, and you're like underneath the squishmallows. So you're not actually underneath like at the ground level of the shelving units, you are behind some squishmallows.

Speaker: What would your characters be doing while there's a loud crowd running around trying to find toys? Does your toy want to be bought? I would say for me, I'm a little bit of a like I was when I was describing my character, I'm an old toy. So I'm just, I've kind of been there a while. So I'm just like, okay, wants to play with me. You know, I'm old news. I'm

Speaker: honestly, probably discontinued somewhere. I'd probably have some health risks. Yeah. I was thinking that maybe you were brought in from this, you've been with this owner of these toy stores and he keeps dropping you from each shop to each shop. Yeah. There's always hopes. There could be a little

Speaker: like a tag on me, like on my ear or something. And it's just like, you could see like the layers of like sales that are on me and like different like price ranges. But I'm just like, Oh, look at all the happy kids. I'm happy. They're happy. Cool. And X, your character? Yes. So think.

Speaker: Yeah, my character, she's not opposed to, you know, like getting a new home and all that, but she's currently the popular character for like little kids. And as we all know, they don't play the easiest with their toys. And so she's kind of escaped off to this top shelf, not with the rest of her group, because, you know, she's going to be

Speaker: adopted into a house, then it needs to be a mature house where they're not going to, you know, cut her hair and color her with markers and do all that stuff because she's a princess. She is of high class and nobility and should not be played with like just a common toy. Perfect. Perfect. And you see other toys around you. You see a like, what do you call it? A little,

Speaker: plastic snake kind of with you guys. Just like, I really don't want to be stepped on today. I want to be like, almost like I'm, I'm running like an AA meeting, but it's just like little mistreating toys. And I'm just like, Hey man, we're here for you. You know, we've all been stepped on, you know, let's raise our hands. You know, we're here for you. Like, like, what are your goals? You know, you're, you're not,

Speaker: You're not just somebody's toy, but you're your own person, like, kind of stuff. Yeah, yeah. No, but I look like every one of my brothers and sisters. That's all right. Everyone's afraid of me. You'll get it. You know, some kids are scared of snakes. Some kids are scared of clowns. Nothing wrong with you, little clown toy. You know, Jack in the Box is kind of just, yeah.

Speaker: Everybody has their preferences and you know what? Someday you'll find yours. Now, like I said, it is close to closing time. I'd say there's about, like I said, there's a lot of kids outside crying because they didn't get the toys they wanted and whatnot, which means that there are less and less people in the store and they're all kind of moving that way. So I want you both to roll perception for me. 11.

Speaker: 11, 14. With an 11, you see this curly haired little blonde boy with his mom and he's holding this, well you don't know what he's holding, but he's like walking by and really just the joy in his eyes for just being in this toy store. They don't look like they have very much, but with a 14, they like

Speaker: They probably got like a ball. You can see that they have a ball in their card. But this little boy in his hands, he has a plastic dinosaur. And it seems like this dinosaur, like he's holding up really tight. But you also see on the other end is a another lady with a really, really rowdy

Speaker: Baby just screaming and crying and then they have like a little girl like pulling on the dress and so they're walking and they're gonna cross paths with this family and Neither of them are kind of paying attention what you do Something's going to go down. You know, just kind of like sit like this at the show Yeah, it's kind of like those moments where like I've been in this store. I'm like something's about to happen everybody everybody watch

Speaker: Like meeting a ger and everyone's just crowding around the edge. In between the squishmallows, like the little hands and paws and whatever else you have are just in between with like little eyes just poking out. And you all see this collision happen. The ball goes flying, the baby gets shaken up, so they're screaming and crying and all the toys, like there was a rocket ship in that one.

Speaker: and like a Hot Wheels track and stuff like that. They just kind of just go everywhere. And then even the little boy like freaks out and like instead of grasping his toy is like smashes into the cart as well. So drops the toy and is screaming, crying in pain.

Speaker: All this commotion is happening and you see the mom pick up the son and they immediately head towards what you can only imagine is, well you would know this because you guys are sentient beings and you understand when a collision happens, usually a responsible person would go to the manager to figure out what's going on and how to figure out how to fix what just happened.

Speaker: Also, they're trying to find the ball that popped out and whose fault, blah, blah, blah. And throughout all this, you see the lovely dinosaur. And there aren't necessarily any more humans around. They both kind of head that way with their children.

Speaker: being a toy that's been sitting there for a while by myself and like, I'm like, Oh no, I don't want them to get separated. So I want to like stealthily make my way over there. Like, like, like, like, even though there's like not many people around, I'm making sure. Sure. Yeah. Roll stealth for me. 19. I'm just like 19. But once I see you start walking over, I'll probably also follow. Cool. The others are kind of just hanging back. They're like,

Speaker: Uh, I don't want to be stepped on. I don't want to be touched. I don't want to be thrown. I don't want to be botched. I don't want to pop out of this box again. And so you guys roll stealth for me, Bex. What's your character's names? Um, who cakes? Who cakes? Mm -hmm. Okay. And princess what? Sparkle glow. Princess sparkle glow. Who cakes and sparkle glow?

Speaker: I have a 10. Okay. And I'm only pursuing this because who cakes is a responsible one? Okay, a rock perception for me just to see if you can see any people around. 22. 15. 15, 22. You don't see anybody in the aisle just yet. But with the 22, you can say like, maybe there's about like,

Speaker: Five other families in the shop, and the shop is quite large right now. All you, I mean, you have like the cashiers, which there's about like 10 of them, because they're still like they're getting the last few people, but like in the store walking around, there's about five. So you, I would assume approach the dinosaur.

Speaker: Yeah, I wanna, I wanna like shut up, put my little fluffy wing out there and like grab him and like drag him under a shelf. What's happening? Who's, who's taking me? I'll be like, shh, it's okay. We're here to help. We saw what happened. Yes, I've been separated from my boy. Oh, it's okay. Well, we'll help you get back. Don't worry. This may or may not have been my first adventure to do this.

Speaker: leaning more towards you. This is my first time. Oh, uh, I don't know if I feel better about that. We'll have beginner's luck, right? Yeah. I hope so. Steve needs me. He gets anxious and he hyperventilates and he needs to cuddle me to get better. Oh, we'll get there. Don't worry, buddy. Okay, where am I? I'm dragged into a dark place.

Speaker: You're underneath the shelf. I just didn't want you to accidentally get trampled, and this is a free place for us to kind of talk and move about without, you know, the humans seeing us. I was bought online, so I was in a package, and then I was in the package, and then I was at the house, so I don't know. I've been around this store a few times, but I've always been with Steve. That's all I remember. Do you remember your way back home? Do you guys own a Toyota Corolla?

Speaker: No, my credit's not that high, but, uh, you know, I've seen one or two, uh, in the Hot Wheels aisle. So I think I know what we're talking about. Okay. Maybe we can use the Hot Wheels. How big are they? How far can they go? Eh, they're, you know, they're more short distance than going in through loops. Stuck through loops? You don't think we've ever been through a loop? Aye. All right. Well, let's, uh,

Speaker: I want to try to like climb up on top of like one of the shelves and like try to get a vantage point climbing or are you flying? Because you can fly as I assume as an owl. Yeah, but I'm assuming this dinosaur can't fly, though. Yeah, this dinosaur can't fly. No. Yeah. So we'll climb together. OK, I'm going to be like, let's let's try to get an advantage point. See if like your kid is still here, maybe.

Speaker: He's going to have to roll, so I'm going to roll for him. Oh, and he goes, uh, yeah. Um, my, my name's Rory. Rory. I said, it's nice to meet you. I'm, I'm who cakes. Who cakes cool. And it's very sparkly lady. What's your name? Oh, you don't know my name. It's just princess sparkle glow. It's one of the most popular toys this year.

Speaker: So, same as all the rest of them. Oh, I saw the picture. I just didn't want to be rude. Fair enough. You're a very polite dinosaur. Well, I tried to be a good example for Steve. Really sweet. So we're climbing up. He's going to use, I guess, athletics? I mean, they're both the same, so it doesn't make a difference. He was 19. He tries to go with his little arms. He's like a proper T -Rex.

Speaker: His little arms just don't. I'm plastic. I can't really move very well. You can go check though. I'll just stay here with Princess. I'll go up and I'll look out. See if I can see him. The role perception. With advantage. Well, I'm glad it was advantage. 15. 15. So with a 15, you can see like the little boy and the mom are having a conversation with the manager.

Speaker: And the other mom and the two kids, the, the mom, the little boys is it like, he's got like, like a cloth over his nose. Like he's like, like it has a bloody nose and stuff like that. And they're like, caught like they're in a heated conversation. You can't really hear what's going on because you just hear the toy store music that's been playing.

Speaker: and you hear like the cashiers getting the last like four people but you basically see that from your area from where you are you have to go about three aisles over and then through the unicorn

Speaker: rainbow set and then past that you have to go through the cashiers and then the boy is there. Well, every journey starts with the first step. Let's go. Oh, and you do see a like a family of four two aisles down. Oh, let's let's take this first aisle and then like we'll make sure to peek over to see if they're still there.

Speaker: So, do you go back down to them? Yeah, yeah, I go back down to Rory and the princess. And you explain everything and he's like, okay, I don't know, I'll do anything whatever it takes. All right, buddy, let's go. Let's go. I like point forward to where we need to go. And his little plastic legs start moving out into the aisle.

Speaker: I advise him like, hey, you know, stay where we're not like fully seen. Oh, why? You don't want another kid to fall in love with you and take you away from your boy. Roll persuasion with advantage. It's gonna be an eight. Eight? I don't know. I need to get to stay. He takes a few more steps into the aisle.

Speaker: This is gonna be the end of us. I need to take that risk! I need to get to my boy! I need to take him a few more steps. What are you guys doing? Dude, stop! You'll get us all caught! I wanna... I wanna grapple him. Go for it. Like grab onto his dinosaur tail and yank back. Cool. Yeah, roll a strength check and I'll roll a strength save.

Speaker: Oh, my rolls are not with me today. I got an eight. Oh, an 11. This game, would he count as kind of humanoid -ish? Yeah, yeah, he's a humanoid. Then can I cast Charm Person? Yeah, definitely. What save does he have to make?

Speaker: A wisdom saving throw does so with advantage if you or your companion are fighting it. We're not fighting it. Well, I don't know if his grappling would count as fighting. I don't think it's fighting. 17. Yeah, he had to get 15. Try charming him. He's like, guys, you're supposed to be helping me. What is this? Touching my bottom?

Speaker: Uh, how, like, big, like, is this aisle? Not like, oh, oh, the aisle is probably about... Like from like one shelf to another. Probably about four feet. No, maybe, maybe six feet. One end to the other. And you said there's no one, like, no humans that we see. No one in this aisle right now. Okay.

Speaker: I stop holding back and I start pushing forward and running like to the other side. Cool. Cool. Yeah, that's fine. I'm just gonna make a roll. We're not gonna like cautious. How fast can you go? My speed is 30. Now we're gonna like quarter that. So

Speaker: It's six or seven. Would it be seven? 30 feet divided by. About seven. Four. Yeah. Seven. Yeah. So you can run seven feet. So you get across and so does, so does Rory. Yeah. And I'll join you guys and run. My thing is 35. I don't know what the quarter of that off the top of my head. That's, I think that's just eight. 8 .75. Yeah. Was it 30?

Speaker: Yeah, cool. So you, you all get to the other side and you are now with the, uh, like the sports. So you see like scooters and

Speaker: and skateboards and some balls. There's like, there is a ball tube area. It's not like a huge, it's not like a small tube where like they have balls in, but like there's just balls in this container, in a cylindrical container. Are there any like on the floor or anything like that? Balls? Yeah, there's quite a bit of them actually. That collision did spray. You do also see the rocket ship on the floor and the Hot Wheels track has been broken on the floor. Like the box is open.

Speaker: or is like, okay, what's next? What do we do? Where do we go? Well, we still meet across several more aisles. So we're just going to make it through here as well. Are there any humans around?

Speaker: you remember that in this aisle there is humans, there's the family of four that are like you guys there's like a secret door between the walls so you don't have to go all the way around so you're just going to the other side you just go through that and you see on that side you have like you have the princess section

Speaker: Oh no, all my fellow toys I've ditched. And you see like blonde, brunettes, you see fairies, you see all these different, you see a castle and as Rory opens it, he's like, whoa, there's so much, there's so many fancy people here.

Speaker: Yeah, you do remember on this how there's the family of four going by. So no one's moving so much because it is more open, but at the same time, we're exploring. I'm going to be like Princess, this is your territory. How should we move forward? Are we at like a place where the people could see us if we move too freely or?

Speaker: If you move too freely, yes, they could definitely see you. But there is like, if you think of like, like doll houses and stuff like that, it's basically that but in more fantastical kind of way. So the front is open. So you are covered. But at the same time, there's still more display. So there's like,

Speaker: a farm area for the castle. There's a place for the horses. So there's like there are open areas, but also there's quite a bit of building around. So you're saying there's like multiple like little playhouses like for the dolls. Yeah. Yeah. It may be tricky getting a dinosaur through all this. And then there's like there is a rainbow on the top of it like like Princess.

Speaker: You could cross the rainbow bridge, but as we learned earlier, our friend isn't the best climber. Yeah. I can climb. I just need confidence. No, I'll give you all the confidence you need, buddy. Yeah. We just got to be careful. Lots of open space. I'm going to make a roll, see if something happens. I do want to try it though.

Speaker: At first, the princess was like, hey, get out of here. Like this tail, like, what's this dinosaur doing here? What's going on? And then he's like, hi, Rory. I think this is a great place. You're all wonderful. And they're like, oh, compliments. Hey. Just passing through. Just passing through.

Speaker: Oh, it's a... Yeah. Oh, do you have some gum in your hair? Or is that jam? Roll intimidation with advantage. Ooh. Yeah, 22. Rolled it twice. She's like, she's like, what? And you see Princess

Speaker: Lila and she runs off and she's like And they run like like for they run behind the castle and they're like checking her ears Don't mess with the sparkle Yeah, I want I want to go for a high five with the princess just like oh, yeah. Yes. Yes Nice and we're always like, okay, so do we just keep going?

Speaker: Yeah, we should keep moving. Yeah, just keep moving. We'll get there. He just takes off into the aisle again. Slowly. Oh gosh. Can I try to charm him again? Yeah, go for it. I'm just going to roll an 18. Oh gosh. Yes. I'm rolling really bad for all the humans, but for Rory, he's doing really well. He's just very determined to get to his child.

Speaker: Which is like good on him. The humans don't see him. They just don't see him. Like, like maybe the like because it's it's a it's I don't know it's a mixed family. So they're like the kids are maybe looking at the oh they're looking at the unicorns. They're both looking at like like these because there's a huge unicorn exhibit over there. But the parents are like let's just do it here.

Speaker: and have them have them look at the smaller cheaper ones rather than go to the exhibit. So there's like these and then so then the kids are like, oh, I like this one. So then what do you guys want to do? Let's just while while the kids are distracted, rush through to the other side. Yeah, I agree. Like that'll make one more roll then.

Speaker: you see on the other end is the boy section so you see like the soldier like standing in front of Rory and he's like you sir cannot enter this area this area is a hostile environment well we need to get through so i just like start walking past them okay i'm a princess what are they going to do well

Speaker: She outranks you. So I'm gonna roll. She outranks you. You just go with confidence. Let's hope this doesn't turn out poorly for me. He holds up his rifle and takes a shot and it completely misses you. You're just gonna shoot me? I'm a princess. You just obeyed an order. Yeah, cause I outright killed him. I'll have his badge.

Speaker: Roll intimidation. Roll intimidation. Oh, that's my computer syrups freezing out. Come on. Sorry. Oh, no. Why did I roll? Oh, 10. 10. Okay. 11 flat. I want to use my encode thoughts cantrip. And it's just like, so usually you kind of like pull a memory from your mind and you project it out.

Speaker: But since I'm this little toy, these little lights start glowing on my chest and I just start projecting an image. And I want to project the memory of watching this dinosaur get dropped by his kid. And I'm like, we're on a mission. We need to get him back to his child. We all want that. You want that. Do you want to take that away from him?

Speaker: This is a high, very high, important mission, like highest priority. You need to help us get across this battlefield. You see a little tear go down his face. I do. I want to help this dinosaur get home. Get the chopper ready. They have this toy like helicopter that's at the top of their aisle and it's on a string. So it doesn't actually like

Speaker: fly fly but it does like you could use it to to jump across something maybe if you cut the string correctly and that's what they're prepping for please help me get home do we just keep going or do we wait uh let's let's uh hopefully these soldiers could help us okay i don't know if i can climb up there though we'll i'll help you yeah you see 10 other soldiers like go on his

Speaker: soldiers, you know soldiers go on his shoulder and I was like damn if you guys got a play feature of like a grappling hook or something we're it's better than that and like they kind of detach their bottom halves and like they have like springs not springs but they have like like extendable body parts but it's like the old fashioned where it looks like the like yeah I know what you're talking about yeah

Speaker: it looks like a ladder but it's not so they don't go that high but they all kind of help out and you guys get to the top with the helicopter ready to swing probably i'll say you could use it to swing so i will tell you this roll insight for me roll insight or history maybe or arcana i'll even give you uh i did insight for 14 14 okay for 12

Speaker: Okay, for insight, there are two options here. You can literally put Rory in the helicopter, then Rory takes off and he may land next to Steve. Or you can all go and you will have a better chance of maneuvering it. So it's like, there's a lucky shot and then there's a more definite shot.

Speaker: But that means you are on that side of the aisle. And that means your carat, your toys could either be thrown or put back on the shelves you don't know yet. Because it may not be the store owner that finds you. I say we go with him. I'm all in for getting him there. So you want to do the more assured route? Yeah. And for the arcana?

Speaker: Like you can, you can tell that this contraption would be able to hold the three of you and it would, it would be more beneficial for like, like, for example, who it's wings to be able to help guide. Well, let's do it then. What's the worst that'll happen? It's sent to a home with a six year old with sticky fingers. So the risk will take.

Speaker: I know that one day, Princess, you'll be in a nice glass case and get to not be touched and just admired all day. One day, sure. Not sure if that's like a person. I will say he also does have a backpack, but... Like the kid? Yeah, the kid, Steve has a backpack that you can look for. Okay. All right. Maybe we could do like an airdrop. We'll just... Maybe. Pop them in there.

Speaker: Okay, so let's do some rolls. I think this will be either your final roll or your close to bottom ones. Yeah. So roll me a strength. Maybe, maybe I'll say either acrobatics or athletics. Acrobatics. Acrobatics. Hooch. And then. Oh. Yeah. Okay. You both do acrobatics. That's fine. Seven. Rory's just going to get in, in the helicopter. Dirty 20.

Speaker: Dirty 20 and a seven. So I'll say with a dirty 20, you're able to guide it, but the weight isn't distributed or it is distributed, but it's not leaning in the right direction. So you're taking a lot on it. So you have one, you have two options right now, a hoot. You can drop the helicopter because it is in the perfect position for the helicopter to go into the bag.

Speaker: but you might lose princess or you just go down with the ship and you all live, maybe you might split yourself open. This is a high drop. So pretty much like we bail, but he like makes it into the backpack, right? No, you bail and then to make it into the backpack. Could I? Or you stay and you possibly can help

Speaker: just get him in the backpack and you and Princess can have more maneuverability to get out. Because I was gonna say we kind of like drop him and then I was gonna be like Princess hold on as we like glide away. Oh sure yeah or I would say you have to drop the helicopter but you can maybe take a roll to see if Princess jumps out of the helicopter and you capture it. Cool. So is that what the plan is? Do you want to go with that?

Speaker: Sure. We're not flying, we're following the style. I do have feather balls, that's not all helpful. Yeah, yeah, cast it. Oh, there you go, yeah. You can do that and we'll both glide down. You'll be like a little princess peach, you just like puff out your dress and you just will glide down. And yeah, so the helicopter goes into the backpack. Steve kind of like Joel Spatnik. And yeah, you guys saved Rory.

Speaker: from losing his kid. Steve does at that moment think, oh no, where's Rory? And he like pulls out his bag and he's like a helicopter and he looks at it and he sees Rory in the helicopter and he's like, oh, this is awesome. Okay, I'm not gonna say anything. And it's like, I'm so happy. Like, forget what's happening. And Doug, the owner has kind of cooled everyone down and you too are

Speaker: laying on the ground next to the cashier and I'm just gonna do a narrative ending where you both have you both are lying there and Steve walks by and and his mom before the other families they're still trying to get some stuff sorted but if they were the Doug the owner recognizes it wasn't

Speaker: their faults, they're free to go, they've been compensated and all that. And I'm just gonna roll to see if they see you and they do. And I'm going to roll to see if they pick you up. So Steve picks up the owl and the mom picks up the princess and she goes, you want to see a price tag on this one?

Speaker: And your sister did want a princess. She's got these collectibles. They apparently are priceless. I mean, this one's out of the box. Do you think she'd be okay with it? And Steve's like, yeah, I think so. And I found this cool owl. Can I keep him? And they're like, well, maybe we should see if these costs anything. So they go and they see it's cost a lot for the princess and practically nothing for the owl.

Speaker: but steve's are you like he's got like this weird inkling that he should have he should have both of them at least to take home and so they pay for them because they know it's the deal it's even on sale because it's christmas like after christmas and what's a late present but you know a nice out -of -the -box princess and old learning

Speaker: and so they take you home you enter your new home princess sparkles you are in a glass case with other very valuable objects of a pre -teen teenager girl who uh is learning about makeup so maybe that could come into play later we'll see about that and owl you have been put down in the dining room where

Speaker: if there is ever any anything the mom needs help with. She kind of like to help her son learn something. She kind of goes to you first to kind of get a hint of what the questions are and some of the answers and then goes to him. No. And that is our wholesome random toy story. Toy store story.

Speaker: Thank you for playing. Thank you guys for, yeah, thank you for playing, both of you. That was a lot of fun for me. I wish it would have been longer and more fleshed out, but I think it was a good time. Yeah, still had fun. Yeah, I liked it. At this point, I didn't get it. Cause siblings to fight. Do like the minor illusion, be like, mom said I could play the D, you know, on the whatever game console.

Speaker: Yeah, I mean you could still probably do that. You are magical toys, so you can mess around with people in the house. That's a bit rude at this point, but okay. Yeah, so yeah, thank you all in the audience for listening. Thank you guys for playing. Thank you that we can have this time to do this, and thank you Patreon supporters if you are listening.

Speaker: For this, yeah, we wanted to give you guys something more of what we could be doing and have a little bit of fun with you. So any other suggestions of these kind of things, let us know and we will put them out there. And trust me, we will revisit these toys. We have to, because I need to know more of what's going on. Yeah, till next time. And oh yeah, don't forget to join us

Speaker: look at our website, rollingcrossupon .com, for all of that stuff. I mean, you guys are on Patreon, you guys have already done all that, so we're not gonna do the whole spiel, but if anything, just email us so we know, yeah, if you liked it, if you didn't, if you want to know more, if you have fan art, all that jazz. Until next time, bye. Oh, Isaac's waving and Beck's waving. I'm not gonna wave. Bye.

Speaker: you
