Speaker: But we're going to get into today's episode.
Speaker: And the episode is about Uber and
Speaker: In the story of faith through Uber.

Speaker: So I would say the year was 2016 going into 2017.
Speaker: And right before that year took off in 2017, I had an opportunity to go on a show, which many of you might know is The Bachelorette.
Speaker: Little do people know prior to that show, I was personal training.
Speaker: I was doing Uber to make money.
Speaker: And I was making pretty decent money once a week, $700 to $1,000 a week.
Speaker: So it was...
Speaker: It was putting the food on the table, was paying the bills.
Speaker: But I came home after the show and I could no longer do Uber.
Speaker: But the funny story is I still had to pay my rent.
Speaker: My rent at the time was $2,000 a month.
Speaker: And I was sitting back thinking like, I'm going to make some money.
Speaker: Now, granted, shouts out to Airbnb.
Speaker: I did Airbnb my spot when I was gone for 10 weeks traveling the world.
Speaker: So I made a little bit of money.
Speaker: But I was back.
Speaker: I was back.
Speaker: You know, my show didn't come out for like the next two or three months.
Speaker: So I had to make some money.
Speaker: You know, Uber was bringing me a lot of cash weekly and I couldn't do it anymore.
Speaker: So the story goes, it's probably the end of, let's say I came home May 17th.
Speaker: So it had to be like the end of May, if I'm not mistaken.
Speaker: And I had to pay my rent, you know, my rent was like 1850 1950 plus utilities and
Speaker: I needed to make money.
Speaker: So in that moment, of course, I'm going back and forth with myself.
Speaker: Like I want to do it.
Speaker: I know I shouldn't do it because I got a show that's coming out.
Speaker: I got to stop.
Speaker: I got to change.
Speaker: I got to figure something out.
Speaker: And so I remember listening to this, uh,
Speaker: this author, thought leader, spiritual guru named Stuart Wilde.
Speaker: And Stuart Wilde, W-I-L-D-E.
Speaker: And he was talking about, you know, sometimes you should just sit still for an hour and do nothing.
Speaker: And so, you know, I sat still for an hour and
Speaker: And I did nothing.
Speaker: And I just was allowing to see what happened, what came, what will come, what will take place.
Speaker: Because, you know, as a person like myself with all this energy, I always feel like I have to be doing something, doing things, right?
Speaker: I have to be doing to get, I can't just be in a track, right?
Speaker: I got to do, do, do.
Speaker: So anyway, I'm sitting, I'm sitting, nothing is happening.
Speaker: So that day goes by.
Speaker: I do it again another day.
Speaker: Then at this point, you know, I just, I gotta have, I gotta have more faith than fear.
Speaker: So of course I prayed and now, you know, I still was training my clients.
Speaker: You know, I had some clients that stayed on while I was gone for 10 weeks.
Speaker: And I feel like it was like maybe two or three days, maybe two days before rent was due.
Speaker: And mind you, I'm still worried a little bit because I'm like, you know, my rent is $2,000.
Speaker: how am I going to make rent?
Speaker: So I'm sitting, I'm literally in my apartment on Wilshire and Burnside.
Speaker: Miracle Mile was the neighborhood I lived in.
Speaker: How ironic my brand is.
Speaker: It's Miracle Season, but I lived in Miracle Mile at the time.
Speaker: And I think I was doing a meditation.
Speaker: I was reading something.
Speaker: And I get a call.
Speaker: I get a call from, um,
Speaker: a good person who actually put me on the show, The Bachelorette, Thea Washington.
Speaker: And she was like, Eric, we're looking for someone to shoot this commercial, this Cantu commercial in Baltimore.
Speaker: We're willing to pay you $2,500 and we'll fly you out.
Speaker: Does that sound like something you want to do?
Speaker: Now, mind you, this woman doesn't know what's going on.
Speaker: She do know that I just got off a TV show and they need a soccer player for this commercial, Cantu.
Speaker: The only catch is I had to shave my head bald.
Speaker: So I had to go bald hit it.
Speaker: So here's the universe.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: You say you need the money.
Speaker: You need the opportunity.
Speaker: This is the perfect timing.
Speaker: 2,500.
Speaker: This is a beard product.
Speaker: She got to shave your head bald.
Speaker: So, of course, I said yes.
Speaker: They flew me to Baltimore, my hometown.
Speaker: How amazing is that?
Speaker: I was able to see my family.
Speaker: And...
Speaker: I shaved my head bald and I shot a commercial.
Speaker: And the crazy thing is I got paid within that week.
Speaker: So I think I went in town on maybe a Wednesday or Thursday.
Speaker: I know whatever it was, I got paid.
Speaker: They wrote me a check.
Speaker: Like I got paid really quick.
Speaker: Like a turnaround was really quick.
Speaker: I had the money and I paid my rent.
Speaker: So the moral of the story in life is that you got to have faith, you know, faith, as they say, small as a mustard seed.
Speaker: And I had to have faith.
Speaker: I had to let go and I had to trust.
Speaker: Right.
Speaker: There's something greater was on its way or in alignment, you know, on my soul's assignment.
Speaker: And, um,
Speaker: Here I was.
Speaker: I shot a commercial, shaved my hair bald, but I paid my rent because I was willing to stop doing the thing that I used to do to have faith for something new to come.
Speaker: And my rent was paid because I had faith and I trusted myself and I trusted in something greater.
Speaker: God, the universe, the creator, whatever you guys believe.
Speaker: And it worked out.
Speaker: So I want you guys, if you're listening to this, to always have faith more than fear.
Speaker: Always have a little bit more faith because faith is really the way how you evolve in life.
Speaker: It's how you heal and it's how great things happen and come to you.
Speaker: But I was literally in a surrender moment.
Speaker: I had to trust faith.
Speaker: There's something great that was on the way and it happened.
Speaker: And so that's my story of faith and Uber.
Speaker: Shouts out to Uber.
Speaker: I did Uber probably for like three or four years.
Speaker: I made pretty decent money.
Speaker: Funny story about Uber.
Speaker: Seven years after doing Uber, I did a brand deal with Uber.
Speaker: who paid me great money to be an Uber partner and create content around doing Uber seven years later.
Speaker: So that's the story of faith in Uber.
Speaker: People keep your faith, always have faith and know that something greater is on its way, especially if you're in a bind, you're in a jam, you feel like things are not happening.
Speaker: Just let go.
Speaker: Try to sit in silence for an hour, 30 minutes.
Speaker: See what happens.
Speaker: Trust.
Speaker: Have faith.
Speaker: It's a miracle season.
Speaker: And remember, you can get your miracle, but you got to be willing to endure the seasons that come with that miracle.
