Speaker: Welcome to Wine Mama, a podcast where two bestie moms whine while they whine. I'm Jemina. And I'm Annie. Let's wine. And a big old happy birthday to me.

Speaker: its To me, myself, and I. What a queenie on her birthday. A birthday. We've got a birthday queenie on the line, everybody. A birthday queenie. And so the pressure for the wine today is like another top-notch level that no one has ever experienced. Yeah.

Speaker: I'm stressed over it because if it's like, I mean, first of all, look at the glass I poured. Mine's pretty hefty. She's pretty big because she was like, oh, birthday, birthday of birthday episode, birthday episode. On behalf of all of us at Wine Mama, me, we wish you the absolute best birthday and day ever. And we love you.

Speaker: Thank you so much. I am assuming that that's from I.T. as well, a.k.a. Ben. A.k.a. Ben, yes. I.T. also, despite, you know, his negativity towards never being mentioned, that he's also very thankful for you and your birth.

Speaker: Thank you so much, everyone. i cannot wait to just be showered with all the love today and to drink this lovely, lovely wine. i mean, fingers crossed. TBD.

Speaker: Stick around. Stick around and find out. fingers You'll know at the end. Fingers crossed. So um as you mentioned, it's my birthday. But this is actually dropping while I'm on a work trip. So I get to be like this and be annoying because I also have to work on my birthday. Everybody has work on their birthday, but I'm like...

Speaker: on a trade show floor for the entirety of my birthday standing and anyone has been to one of those they're like yeah that does kind of suck you get it so that's my current life right now kids started school school is going really well i cannot believe that we're like head first into senior year aubrey just got senior photos taken so not your typical like black thing here, like black outfits, like yeah the yearbook photos, but like more so just like lifestyle, like with friends photos on the beach. She went, they went down to Anna Maria for sunrise and they are, you guys, I just like texted her back. cause She sent me the full album and I was like, you're so beautiful.

Speaker: Like, I'm just an, I'm going to need a copy of that link immediately. i was like, I'm just, really I'm just amazed. So here, I'll just, I'll show you one really, just really quickly. A teaser. If I could get a teaser until I get the link, that would be great.

Speaker: I'll give you a quick teaser. I loved her dress. I did see a photo. um Was it a photo or maybe a video or something? I don't know. I saw something she posted and her dress was very cute.

Speaker: The high neckline was gorge. so amazing so they had um outfit changes naturally so this one's probably she'd probably be like it mom this is the one you're gonna choose to show but i this was she was like so they were like spinning around i was just like that is so cute you guys she's just i mean we all just love our children right and think our children are just like of course hung the moon oh frame immediate frame that needs to be that is that needs to be sent out as her senior announcement pics Do you know who already has this in a frame? I got this maybe two hours ago You know who already has this in a frame? You can guess. If you guess wrong. Let me.

Speaker: oh i know I'm not going to guess wrong. Like I already 1,000% know it. It's Aunt Kathy. Ding, ding, ding, ding. Aunt Kathy already has this in a frame next to her couch ready to go. I'm obsessed. I love her so much. I don't think I even clicked on the link yet and she had already downloaded it. So, yeah.

Speaker: Anywho, a lot of excitement going on here. How's it? How how are how are things? how are they Oh, man. Well, i am coming off of a survival mode of Ben being of work.

Speaker: um You know, not me calling it a work trip. It was not a work trip. You guys, he was on a fantasy football draft. trip with his besties from middle school, high school. um and I'm not gonna lie. The first night was very rough. I had very, um, needy crying, not listening children. And if you've been listening this season at all, you heard the first episode of me talking about how my children just do not listen to me and do not respect me. I don't know why i I have no idea because they don't act like this in school. They don't act like this in front of ah anyone else. And, um,

Speaker: you know, as any mom does, they lose their cool. And then I feel incredibly guilty. And the one thing that I am very good about is if I ever lose my cool on my children, and we always have like a huge conversation about it. We talked about it. We talk about our feelings. We hug it out. We snuggle and like all the things like, cause I want them to know how important it is to me of how bad it made me feel. But like I cried, like I legit cried over it because like, I just hate nothing when that happens.

Speaker: Nothing is worse than that feeling when you're like, you're like, I've reached my peak and here's my peak. And then you come off that peak and you're like, ah shit, shit, shit, shit. And that is a recognition that it happens to literally all of us, all of all of us, you guys. And it's like so awful. And I just hate it. And like, I literally tell them, I tell them every time, i'm like, I hate when that happens. you know how I think I've been, I don't know if mentioned this, but I literally tell him, I was like, you know what happens, you guys, the red guy from inside out takes over my board and it's so bad. And I just, I have a very hard time and you know, I get very frustrated Avery's just like, it goes over her head. She's like, cool. Let's go play Barbies. Beckett like actually understands. And he's just like, you guys, he's Beckett. So he's just like the sweetest thing. He's like, mom, you are the, you are the best mom. And I'm so lucky that you're my mom and I love you. And it's okay, mom. We have to, we have to just talk and hug out our big feelings. And I'm just like, and then I cry even more. Cause I'm like, where, okay. First all, where was this human?

Speaker: yeah yeah what was this human right you remember i yelled at you right remember you got in trouble because you were not listening you guys he literally did not listen i had it i took him it was chipotle if any if nobody partook i'm going on a tangent now but chipotle had their back to school buy one and get one free so i was like to me if i get two bowls my children are not going to eat it they think chipotle has spicy chicken but yes Do you agree?

Speaker: Spicy chicken for the kiddos? the kid Yeah. they I think it is a little spicy for the for the kids. And my kids say the same thing. I'm just like, just dunk it in all the sour cream so it kind of, you know.

Speaker: so You won't even taste it. You're going to be eating sour cream. You won't even taste it. Just do a lot of sour cream, a lot of cheese, and eat it because already bought it. Exactly. But I was like, you know, if you were a school uniform or any sort of school hat, whatever, you got buy one, get one free. And like, that's a great deal for Chipotle. I'm like, and I'm by myself. So that's like literally two lunches and two dinners for me for a bowl. So what did I do? I braved the line and took them. They had already eaten dinner. So it's not like it was six o'clock. So it wasn't anything crazy. I kid you not, you guys. They did not listen the entire time. Beckett cried the entire time, the entire line. And I kept it together until we got to the car. And that's when it was just like.

Speaker: No. You guys do know better. Like, you cannot act that way in a restaurant. Like, for nothing. all'll All because they weren't listening. Because I gave them the opportunity to sit down. i was letting them sit at a table.

Speaker: And they were putting their feet on the table. They were pushing around. There's people sitting around them. So they're, like, pushing the chairs. I'm like, i'm like I gave you multiple chances. Now you guys have to stand in line with me. Like, we're not going to be disrespectful at a restaurant. Yeah. so Well, you have to lay it down, right? Like if, yeah and that's not just you, that's just in general life. Like if your kids are acting like that and they don't see you follow through with whatever that threat is, like, okay, if you keep doing this, you're going to go like, you're going to get this taken away. or You're going go like, whatever that is, like you can't do empty threats. That's something that Greg and I learned very quickly. He's like, Greg has said something. He's like, if if you guys don't stop, we're not like, we're not going to the birthday party. I'm like,

Speaker: Well, we still are going to go to the birthday party, but we have to have a different, a different method. Like has to be something you follow through on, right? that's all kids. That's all kids. And so that's, and that's one thing that I'm like, I've got to follow through on it. And so, and then that's what Becca started crying because he was just like, mom, please give me another chance. And I'm like, buddy, I gave you multiple chances. There was multiple offenses that were happening. And I spoke to you every single offense.

Speaker: Yeah. So like, no, you got stand in line. So that was a whole thing. Standing at my feet hurt. I'm thirsty. I'm living like, I cannot. So the fact that, so that like put me over the edge. The fact that the entire line and we were in there, I'll give it to him. It was, we were, it was a long line. Yeah. i moved but it was long line But of course, like I said, anyways, that's how my weekend was. I was just survival mode. But I will say i will say we had, like, the best talk.

Speaker: And we always have, like, the best talks that come out of it. We had a great weekend, a Paw Patrol dinosaur movie, whatever. like But you know me. Like, now I'm to the point – right after that, like, I woke up the next day and I was just like, he can have whatever he wants today.

Speaker: Yeah. me I'm enabling the bad behavior. I understand it's a toxic cycle. I'm in a toxic relationship. I know. I was going to say, maybe are we sensing are we sensing a pattern here? Or like maybe.

Speaker: It's me. It's me. Maybe the arrows are pointed to. But I want to pause on the fact that you said the draft trip. So I need every like mom woman, woman.

Speaker: like wife, girlfriend, whoever, fiance to raise your hand. If a draft is not just like meeting at somebody's house anymore and it's a full blown trip, i need you all to raise your hand because i can guarantee you this like nine out of 10 people. And like, we see you, we see you because to you we're here. like Now granted we of course do our own trips, but these men are going on These little football fantasy football trips just to do a football draft. Cute.

Speaker: Cute. Cute. Okay. i will be i I'll play devil's advocate in this end, though. It gives me leeway for a trip. So, like, I don't hate that he's going on a trip. I just find it so wild that it went from, like, doing it at someone's house or doing it at your own house in the computer to, like, we're going to Boston. Okay.

Speaker: Yes, we're going on a Boston. We're going on a cruise. Greg's actually got canceled this year. know. think they're combining it with something else. But yes, it does. That's why i said we do take our own trips. So like it is kind of like led leverage of like, well, you know, you did that last month. We're our trips next month.

Speaker: So any who, it sounds like we need a single wine big old glass of wine. So are you Birthday wine at this point. I'm so sorry I'm whining on your birthday. This is about you. Oh my God. Yes, please. My apologies. How dare you? My God. Hopefully these birthday wishes that you have for me do not involve any whining. Right? Just happiness, happiness and happiness. Happiness all around. So if we're ready to wine with our wine of the week, we will be drinking the Reporta Pecorino. So she is a lovely, lovely little white wine. like Yes, she's white. She's supposed to be more on the dry side. So I am like kind of hopeful for this.

Speaker: I feel like it can go either way, like hopeful, and but it can also go down a very dark deep path quickly. Dark path. So let's let's learn a little bit more about this wine. So the the company that creates this wine, it's called fantin Fantini Wines. And it is based out of Italy. So from a small intuition to Italy's largest boutique winery, which I love that name, like boutique winery. I'm like, ooh, tell me more. The Fantini group was founded in Abruzzo in 1994 by three visionary friends, all called the three dreamers.

Speaker: because they succeeded in making a dream come true, a dream that seemed impossible, to create something that would become the pride of Southern Italy, despite not having any money or vineyards of their own. But what they did have was a highly innovative business model.

Speaker: So this is so this brand is very intriguing to me. yeah um'm I was intrigued at the boutique conversion. Right. What's this mean?

Speaker: Yeah. i like If they did have merch, their merch is probably really cute because their site is really cute. The pictures are like very dreamy. So I'm like, okay.

Speaker: Okay. Interesting. Interesting. Well, a little more about, report. So report a piccarini is a crisp dry, which we already mentioned dry Italian wine, white wine, From the Terri di Chieti.

Speaker: don't know how to say that. Y'all can Google it. It's a region. um In Abruzzo, Italy. Named after the indigenous Pecorino grape, which shares its name with the famous sheep's milk cheese. I was going to say because Pecorino is cheese. so I've seen it. I've had it. And I'm like, I was i guess it kind of goes with the wine and cheese vibe. So.

Speaker: But it features bright citrus, green fruit, and mineral notes. And it's also very much on the affordable side. $13 to $17, I would consider that very affordable for white wine. Very affordable. I love Pecorino Romano cheese. Yes. Very man it. Crumble it all over my body. like I don't need dirt over my casket.

Speaker: It can be crumbled Pecorino Romano, and I would be fine. Freshly grate Please freshly grate and just... Not me talking about this on my birthday episode. Not me talking about my demise. the dark why how How dark. But also, instead of everyone putting a flower your gasket, we're all going to get a little a little cheese grater. I actually want a little bit more than that. I want one of the wedges. So don't be cheap.

Speaker: Don't be grating it over. Just throw me a block. Throw me a block. I'll just get the Olive Garden. but Say when. Say when. should Never.

Speaker: She'll never say it. She gone. She gone. Anyways, we're not going to be talking about your demise on your birthday. That's a little dark. It's the cheese grater that gets me. Oh, God. Okay.

Speaker: Are we ready to give this wine a try? Yes, please. Let's rock and roll. All right. me open it up. Sorry. my My top was, was, it's not working. I've used, no, I've used it so many times. It doesn't even lock.

Speaker: So I got to hold it now. It's the whole thing guys. Anyways. Cheers. chip

Speaker: Oh, okay. Okay. It's very surprising. i need Let me get one more.

Speaker: that is very good i'm not hating it i'm not hitting either i what the the whole dry thing was throwing me off that it could be like super super dry but this is actually very quite refreshing At the temperature that I have it, to be honest. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. This is really good. And I, we found this at ABC and it was actually, I think it was newer to ours. I can't remember, but I specifically picked it because I was like, Ooh, there's a few different type, um, from this brand, like the Pecorino. and then there's a couple of others. Um, and the bottle just looks so fun. So I was like, the flip bottle let's give it a try. It said small batch. So, you know, it's fun to try something that's a little bit more niche and, um,

Speaker: ph All right. i can do this. please Praise be. Praise be. A great little cool crisp glass. Now we need some cheese.

Speaker: We need some pecorino. Now pecorino with pecorino. like Double it up. A pecorino night. Yes. I see I'm just going keep drinking this. I'm seeing the vision. It is very good. And um like again, the temperature i have it at, especially because it's in my little unfortunate, circle you know, what's this called?

Speaker: Insulated cup. It's going to keep it cool the time, baby. It's going to keep it cool the whole time. I also love that you have that so you don't spill, but the spill proof part is broken.

Speaker: so i just want, I just... I just want to call that out. Just don't tell IT, okay? Like, it literally is just like, what? Corksicle, if you can help a girl out, she doesn yeah full she doesn't need the full thing. She just needs a lid. She just needs a lid, please. If you could send me a new lid, I would totally love that She features it every show.

Speaker: Every single show she's got her little insulated tumbler on here. I do. I'm being a good girl, you guys. I have spilled too many times. that And it's starting to become evident because this is now my work office space, believe it or not, because I have a full ass desk over here with my work computer and all the things. So it's like I can't i have to be responsible. Yes, she's ah she's so she's a working girly. She can't be spilling wine on these things. On these gadgets, specifically computers. These gadgets and gizmos. Anyways, anyways, what are we talking about tonight?

Speaker: We are chatting mom math tonight and you guys may be like, Hmm, what is mom math? So think of how we as women kind of equate girl math and how we laugh about the girl math things that we do on truly a daily basis. But now switch that to being a mom and making things kind of like add up or make sense in your own head. Just because to be honest, sometimes it just makes you feel better. It just makes you feel better being like, well, you know,

Speaker: you you talk through it, right? Like you literally mentally or out loud, you're talking through the process. And there's, and when we say mom math, we don't, yeah, sometimes does it involve literal math, such as like the number one example everyone's going to think of is when you have to leave out the door, right?

Speaker: Prime example, a school day. Okay. So-and-so gets, you know, the bell rings at eight. The kids have to eat breakfast, get ready, brush teeth, go potty, shoes, lunchboxes ready. So like all of that adds,

Speaker: or I guess you subtract from the time that school starts, you have to subtract that. So that's like involving like actual math. So like we are using it in a math sense as well. And I think that's like the number one offense, right? Like, and that's for anything, leaving for church, leaving for a birthday party, leaving for whatever may be it involves. Like, let's say it's going a solid 10 minute per child to get dressed.

Speaker: Yeah. Or child. Okay. Yeah. Then what else do we got? We got school bags or birthday party present. Or if you're like my children and you have to make. Make the card. Oh, no, that's done the day before or in the morning of.

Speaker: Once you get within an hour window, I'm pulling out the ah the the card that's blank inside. We love celebrating you. love Come you sign your names. Love Kennedy and Charlie. Happy fourth birthday. We love celebrating you.

Speaker: You know what? Judge me all the hell you want. know but No judgment because I'm the same way. Honestly, at that point, I don't even pull out a card. We're going cardless, baby. We forgot the card. We'll mail one. I can't can't believe I forgot the card. That's ours. Yeah. That's ours.

Speaker: Like, it's just one of those things. Like, so, I mean, like that sense of the terms. Yeah, we're actually, we're actually using our noggin to do Okay, it cut me off some at some point because we're having some Wi-Fi. and We're just having issues on the free households, okay? But what I was saying is we are using our noggin to actually do real math when we're talking about mom math, but then there's the the other type of mom math that we do, such as um when your children don't want to have dinner yeah and you're desperate at that point yeah and they eat three Skittles.

Speaker: That's sugar. That's there's something in their stomach that's going to keep them satisfied. So to me, sure. You want to eat a bag of popcorn? That's dinner. I'm not going to fight it.

Speaker: At some point, we the mom math has to give up the fight. There's no need to. That counts as dinner. One chicken nugget. I made you 10. You ate one. Sure. That's dinner.

Speaker: Now, you're not getting anything else, but unless you want to eat, unless you want to eat those. Also, I think the computer probably decided to cut off because they heard us talking about math and it was, you know, that's not a force.

Speaker: These girls giving, giving advice and talking about math. No, let's let's cut that. Let's cut them off. That's going to be a no. But no, I totally get that. and one that I'm so, going to say bad about is probably like the eating out. Well, not eating out. I can't say that.

Speaker: But like, if you eat out like once during the week and then the weekend comes like, oh, they had Chick-fil-A on Wednesday. So we're like, we're eating out tonight. So you can't really have, don't want to have chicken nuggets tonight, but they'll be fine. Cause we won't do it next week. And it's like this math in your head. You know what It's like, forget it.

Speaker: As long as they eat. And I know they're gonna eat the chicken nuggets in this specific place. Get them, get them. Maybe a glass of milk with it, but get the chicken nuggets. I don't care. Yeah, and now I know. That tracks. i think I think that's a very popular mom math. One of the ones that I think that I'm most guilty of like i can honestly, and I have proof.

Speaker: I literally have proof right here next to me. Oh my God. is the If I buy it now, oh my god I'm technically saving money later by getting it now, or i'm technically being ahead of the curve. And my prime example is I have an entire... i know what you're about to say.

Speaker: have an entire bag here of Halloween crafts. No, I was not expecting that. hello It's August. Okay, they it is it Target? Is it Target?

Speaker: It is Target. I've got... Yes, they're so cute. I think the baskets. They're so cute. Anyways, ah yeah, I'm very bad about that. um But here we are.

Speaker: Here we are. That's just my mom math. If I buy it now, it's one, not only am I being proactive. Yeah. Proactive. But I'm going to save money later because I'm not going to be buying it during October.

Speaker: Yeah, I agree. And that's the same for, so I thought you were to go to Christmas. You guys, we keep having technical issues. So if it's cutting in and out. We love you. it is what it is. I mean, I can't believe this would ever happen on my birthday episode, but you know I just- The audacity. and the The audacity. um I thought you were going to say Christmas and I was going to say hell yes, because on Prime Day, and I know people are like, oh my God, they just mark prices up to think that you get a deal. No, I buy specific things that I know, that I know this is a good price where I see it, even around Christmas when you go to buy it and it's not discounted.

Speaker: I buy those things. so I've got a couple of little things, little things hiding away. And then in my mind, when it comes around, I'm like, shit, I can already add that to my Christmas list. It's already purchased and I don't, my money's gone. I've already purchased it. And mom mapped me at this point, this is a free gift I'm giving them. Wonderful.

Speaker: It's free. And lucky for them, they're now getting more things because I've already pre-purchased everything. And have fully paid for the previous things. Does bite me in the ass sometimes because then I forget it and then I start to pull it out and I'm like, oh shit. And I'm very much a like even Stevens, even Stevens girly when it comes to.

Speaker: what everyone is getting and making sure that it's, it looks fair if you know what i'm saying. And so there has to be the right, we're in the stage, we're in the phase of life with our, well, my oldest, your middle, where ah accounting matters.

Speaker: They're looking, they're looking at, they're looking at theirs, but they also kind of taking a peek at the other. yeah And that you guys, we all did it. Like, it's like kids are going to be kids.

Speaker: And it just is what it is. They're all going do it. They're all going see like, okay, oh my God. Like, they're so excited about all their stuff. But they're always like, what is this? what What did she get over there? Yeah. That's what it is. Yeah. That's like one of the, yeah, that's, and i I mean, I do the same. Like if you, I don't even want to show you underneath my sink and the amount of skincare that I stock up on, because in my eyes, it's,

Speaker: And that's like a, that's a double, that's a double whammy there. Cause that girl math and mom math all at once. This can go into your own personal life, but it can also is very beneficial when it comes to the children as well to be prepared. And that's just a mom math that we all, I know do like, you can't tell me you don't do this.

Speaker: I know. i know. Everyone does it, and there's so many like facets that we do it in right? like Like you just said, like birthdays, the holidays. you Think about like when we're going on – think about being on a vacation, right?

Speaker: It's like, well, I'm going to forego the nap, but then they're going to get like – um it's going to be an early bedtime they're going to be tired bedtime. Or if they swam today, I'm just going rinse their hair because they're fine. i go i'm fine i really They're going to go back in the pool tomorrow. Why am I just going to wash it, wash it, wash it every night? Just give it a quick little rinse of the chlorine down and then toss them back in there tomorrow. It's just like these little, I'm going to call them tactics, maybe.

Speaker: Yeah. that's Tips and tricks. Tips and tricks. That feels helpful. um Tactics and tips and tricks to honestly make life a little bit easier.

Speaker: Easier. Yes. No stress. Stress less. Stress stress less. Stress less. that is art That's going to our new motto, guys. Stress less. You know, kind of, you know, and how to lose a guy's in 10 days. Frost yourself.

Speaker: Stressless. Yes. Stressless. We're going actually update our intro and outro. Stressless. Actually, you guys the ones that stress us out with all of your, like.

Speaker: Antics. And ADHD nonsense. Yeah. Yeah. Your rabbit holes that you dive down, your jokes that you can't let go of. i mean, like a dog with a bone, like dog a dog with a bone.

Speaker: or Or just phrases that are normal phrases that you don't know how to say them, so you say them wrong. Me. me that one's particularly to me specifically speaking to myself um but i wonder ah specifically need i'm wondering if there's got to be some but like people out there like listening who are like oh my god i have the perfect example you know like people who are like how i want to hear other people's like mom math thoughts and like what problems problems they're not they're not okay that's a horrible terminology it's not tactic um math and tactics tactics problems is not

Speaker: Give us your best mom math. Maybe we'll share it next episode if if you guys actually submit. We always ask you to submit crap. None of y'all listen. I'm going to straight call out the listeners at this point.

Speaker: We see you and we... We see you listening and you have our number. Like, text us at this point. would say we see you and we hear you, but guess what?

Speaker: We don't hear you because you're not... No, we see you, we hear you, but we don't hear from you when we ask, when we give you homework. How would this look in class?

Speaker: Not good. No, no, no, no, no fail fail fail fail um i do i did think of another mom math is like the number one mom math too is the grocery store oh my god when you're at the grocery store it just makes sense to purchase every and we have to discuss this but to purchase everything that's bogo Oh my God. I, I have decided Thursday mornings when the bogos go live at Publix, um, that's going to be like drop the kids at school, hit up the grocery store because it is prime, primo. You guys, again, I'm going to give you, fresh I just went the other day on Thursday when it turned Thursday and,

Speaker: My bill, again, not to air out my finances, but this is the groceries. We're all spending money on groceries. We're all spending the same amount. We're all spending money. spent $99 on groceries. I saved $75. $75. I need someone from Coupon Clippers, whatever that show was, where they were cooking coupons. Yes, the coupon. Give me a call.

Speaker: Give me a call. I don't use coupons, but I use Publix BOGO. like It is my job Job. And for anyone leave listening... Since this is dropping on Tuesday, you have today and tomorrow to take advantage. Those Millie Moon diapers that like those like it's like um luxury. Millie Moon diapers and Millie Moon wipes are BOGO at Publix.

Speaker: Oh, I'm going to take um I'm honestly going to steal some wipes just because I like having like actual baby wipes around the house to like yeah clean hands and mouths and faces and Like, so bogo writing that down. mill moon Got it. Okay. Cause you know, that's probably just like the water-based one, which is what I want. Cause I wipe their face with it. Like, I don't want like a wipe that's like filled with stuff when I'm wiping like their face. Cause if y'all ever see my children eat, my God, they get ketchup freaking everywhere all over their face, hair, nose, savages. so I mean, I love that they love a dip. I'm a big dip gal myself. Ranch, blue cheese, honey mustard. I mean, there's not a dip I don't think i don't like. Not a dip I wouldn't touch. But the BOGO is true. like that's

Speaker: When we say mom math, that's like legitimate math. Math. Yeah. It's free. You guys, it's free. You're getting one for free. It doesn't get better. At at this point, like it doesn't get better than that. Especially when you have kids...

Speaker: Because they eat, you guys, i don't know if you guys if you guys are going through this, but like I swear my kids are eating a snack every hour. All the time. Every 30 minutes. All the time. My thing is Kennedy comes home from school because she gets home, like elementary school, right? They get out early. She doesn't do after school. She comes home. She has two snacks. And then when Charlie gets home from preschool and she has an ah a snack, Kennedy then thinks that like, oh, well, Charlie's having a snack. I am then having another snack. And I'm like, no.

Speaker: Mm-hmm. That's actually not how this works. um You had your two snacks. She's actually just now coming home and having her first after school snacks. I'm going to do this mom math for you and say two two plus two does not equal whatever, like four. yeah It equals zero for you. Zero snacks for you. Literally. So true. It's just...

Speaker: But anyways, yeah, that's mom math. And I know everyone, everyone who's a mom can relate to the subject because actually you don't even have to be a mom because girl math is very similar to mom math. Mom math just involves tiny humans also being partaking in the, in the equation of the results. That's the best way I can put it.

Speaker: I, that sounded so smart using the word equation. know what I mean? If we want to pivot, I'm not, I'm not going like hard pivot us, but if you want to pivot to like true girl math, you can be whoever don't have to have, you don't have to.

Speaker: talk just about moms the best the best girl math the very freaking best is the v i already know you're gonna say the note the vacation girl math when you've already you've planned it i want to know what you have to say now when you've already planned it months in advance and you've paid it off or if everyone's booking together and you're paying that someone I've already paid it. You show up at that Airbnb. This is a free stay for me at this point. I so true. That money was paid five months ago to you.

Speaker: You were then the person who had to dole out the money yeah partway through partway cash paying their whatever. For me, I'm showing up at a free stay.

Speaker: And this is this is lovely. Nothing irks me more than getting to hotel. And it's like, oh, like you have they have your card on file, but they haven't charged it yet. I'm like, je sha just charge. No, no Just when I put my card in, just do it then.

Speaker: just Just take it. I know what I'm doing. I don't need to get to the trip. And then you charge my card hundreds of dollars if before I'm so going to then... do my thing out and wherever I'm at.

Speaker: Yeah. Shopping, eating, going out, whatever, and spending more money. So you just took money away from my trip by not charging me when I booked. Yes. That was in my little, my little dollars that I was going to spend. Yeah. So that is my favorite girl math is when it's like, you've already spent that money. Like the flights already paid for. You've already paid whoever it was who booked the hotel or the Airbnb. You're just there on vibes. And that is the, that's the best.

Speaker: That's the best. That is so true. That's such a good one. My my favorite differs. Mine's when I return something. I just made money and I have money to spend. ah It's a double whammy for me.

Speaker: That does not shock me with you at all. At all. Like I literally returned something and I just not only did I make money, i because in my head, i paid for that when I bought it. Yeah.

Speaker: Well, that's the that's the perfect example of when you taught me how to do like the target return thing or not the return, the target like yeah price price match.

Speaker: yeah And so when I went on and they were like, well, you put purchases in store, so you have to go in there. And I was like, please don't make me go in the store. And you're like, no, they'll give it to you. They'll they'll give it you. You got keep pushing. And they were like they're like, well, the best I can do is a like store credit. And you're like, yeah that's fine. You're going to spend it anyway. Okay.

Speaker: Literally. i I'm going to give it right back to you within the same conversation. Like and there's already things in my card. I'm going to close out of this chat and actually go submit my purchase on the pillow that I want or whatever. So it's so freaking, it's so true. It's so funny. It's it's accurate.

Speaker: And it's true. It brings me joy. I love returning items. I love it. I love it. It's the best. She actually purchases things just to then go and return it. To return it. Like that shot. What is it? seton Serotonin? Is that the right word? Serotonin? Serotonin.

Speaker: Isn't serotonin like a shot of like just like bliss? Isn't that what serotonin is? No. Serotonin is like a purchase of serotonin. I think that's the one that you are sleepy.

Speaker: Oh, is it? No, that's serotonin. Serotonin. Serotonin. sin a key chemical. What is this? Act as natural stabilizer for feelings. Oh, of well-being and happiness.

Speaker: Wait, what? You're thinking of the word um that Elle Woods said. and happy people and endorphins. You're thinking of endorphins. That is probably what I was thinking of. You're thinking i of endorphins. because And the only reason I know that is because of Elle Woods. Thank you so much, Elle Woods.

Speaker: And endorphins. And happy people don't. whatever kill kill be someone whatever that is they block pain and signal and create happy feelings yes give me all the endorphins so that's what it is so jamina goes buys it And then turns around and returns it. Oh my gosh. You guys, I have to share this.

Speaker: Oh no. This is going to be extra. So obviously I Googled endorphins, right? And this is what AI has given. i have to share this, Annie. and Don't hate me for HR, but i have to share. Okay. Just be careful what you say, please.

Speaker: It's on, it's on the internet. So it's fine. That doesn't say anything. If you guys hear it cut from here and it cuts to like, and thanks so much for listening to Why Mama. Just know that this had to be cut out.

Speaker: but Just know. This ought of be her brain she had to be removed. She had to be censored. Which happens more often than you guys realize. I don't think you guys know. Annie does a really good job at editing. That's very nice of you. um i do do a pretty decent job you when things need to be edited out.

Speaker: um But anyways, so it says endorphins are natural chemical messengers made by the brain. They block pain, signals, and create happy feelings, which is what I said. And then there's two things. It says what they do.

Speaker: What they do, they stop pain that signals the body in the body. They lower stress and worry, boost your mood, and make you feel good, create a happy and relaxed state. How the body releases that.

Speaker: but do Do you have any guesses? i'm gonna have I have a few guesses in my head if you're saying h r so Okay. How the body releases them. Doing hard exercise, which is the Elle Woods one.

Speaker: Eating good food, which I would agree with that. When I eat some good food, I'm going to get pretty happy. I'm not going lie. Laughing a lot.

Speaker: Checkmark. See, so far it's clean and kosher until this final one. Having sex. but

Speaker: Gotta to release those endorphins. I just made my return. i just hi i just Could you imagine? I just made my return to Target. Gotta release those endorphins. Gotta go release my endorphins. I'm going to tell you guys right now the way I'm going to release it is just shopping at Target some more.

Speaker: The fact that that's not an option on here, on how the body releases endorphins is... insane yeah so see not that bad not that horrible but it made me laugh that was like one of the top five things on ai and this is when we dive down the rabbit hole

Speaker: You're welcome. You're welcome. Making our way right back up. You guys, we're a little like just silly having a good time right now because if you can't tell by my little crease in the door for our listeners, there's light there. It's daytime, baby. That's usually dark. It's daytime, baby. We are – this is silly time. This is silly time. We're vibing. We're vibing. But it's also your birthday. So, like, you know, of course. We have to make it joyful and happy.

Speaker: I wish I could, you know, I could do this. This is, but this is like a button of like, this is Charlie. I'm dead. love her. Like this is my little birthday button. It says number one dad, but you guys get the picture. It's little birthday. It's little birthday button.

Speaker: It is what it is. um but I am feeling this wine in more ways than one. like feeling is it giving you endorphins? Yeah.

Speaker: Good. happy to hear that i'm having a great time with this so i me too i think i have like one more sip let me we i gotta to open my lid this is i've been chugging along this is the fourth episode and i feel like we've had really strong lines thus far contenders so we're gonna have to crawl into wherever we go to next and just grab a bottom shelf line and We have to do, you know what you know what i'm I'm calling it, we have to do a boxed wine together, together this season.

Speaker: We have to do it together this season. I'm down. Let's slap the bag, baby. Slap the bag. Slap the bag. laughp We're going to, yeah. Let's give the viewers what they want, but which is slapping the bag.

Speaker: I always think it was slapping the bit. No, we have to do a little better than Francia. There's many options now. Yes. But I think Francia is like the OG, right? The go-to. She's the OG. But we're kind of, we recorded some good stuff on socials. We haven't posted it yet because, you know, we just, yeah you know, we haven't. Life. um life But we've got some good stuff coming up on socials. So you guys make sure to follow us. Okay. If you're not.

Speaker: It's good. It's good. We need to post those. It's funny. We need to post those. Those are so funny. So do you think that you are ready? I went to look up our handle to tell people what to, I wanted to make sure I said the right thing. Yeah. It's a wine mama podcast. Duh.

Speaker: And remember wine is W H I N E because sometimes we whine and we complain. We also whine and it's just like, it's just a good time.

Speaker: so good time always a good time. do you think that you're ready to cork? I think so. What about you? Because ladies first, birthday ladies first. I'm going to let you go first. i feel like I've gone first the past few times. So i I want to give you the honors on your birthday if you're ready.

Speaker: I think I have a number in mind. I think I'm ready, but I'm also like, I feel like these past three, I can't think about those because I think about those yeah past three. I'm like, they've been really, really strong. Mm-hmm.

Speaker: And if the numbers are repetitive, it's because we've had really strong wines. I don't know about you, but I think anything over a nine is like, that's a such a bold move. it's so when something's really, really good, I usually stay in the like high eights.

Speaker: So yeah, that's my method too. Now I'm curious what your number is. So that's kind of like where I'm sitting. i'm actually getting a tattoo. This is a 10. No, I'm kidding. Birthday tat. Birthday tattoo. And you know what It's going double whammy because it's actually going to be a pecorino cheese.

Speaker: It's going to be a pecorino grape and a pecorino cheese. And people are like, what bet did you lose? I'm like, no, no Have you ever heard of a wine mama? No, I'm just kidding. I am giving this wine 8.8.

Speaker: eight point eight I literally just wrote it down. Did you? But I wrote it down in the wrong one. It's 8-8 for me. 8-8? I don't even my phone in my hands. you guys see my hands here? I thought you saw it because I wrote it down and I was like, she's going to say my number. But could tell. My phone has been. I could tell you didn't have your phone. So that's what I was like. I'm going to put it in there and see if she notices.

Speaker: No, I was not looking. 8-8 for both of us. It's a crisp. It's a crisp 8-8 because I'm with you. I think 9-8. nine just makes it Just makes it too close to 10 for me sometimes. And we have had nines. We we have definitely have had nines in the past few seasons.

Speaker: And this is good. This is very good. but I think she's she's worthy of the 8.8. She's worthy of the 8.8. The price, you can't beat that. You cannot beat the price. So now I'm interested. I can't remember. There were two other...

Speaker: bottles of wine, different varietals, but two other for this same company. And it's, I love a small batch, right? Like you, you can find some really great wines that are everywhere, anywhere and everywhere, yeah this is a smaller batch wine and that's always fun to find. So like they said, boutique, boutique winery. So, and again, girl math, you can buy what two or three of these for the price of like one bottle of something else. Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah. Count me in. Yeah. A fancy bottle that could potentially be a solid six. hu When you're getting two eight eights, mom math, girl math, chime them together, baby. Get your calculator.

Speaker: Type it all red in. So, but yeah, any, any final birthday thoughts as we wrap up this episode, any final wishes for yourself? Oh my God, that's deep. I wasn't expecting that. so as being so young

Speaker: You guys, it's an ongoing joke because out of my friend, my very best friends that I have had since I was, Aubrey's calling me, so we gotta to wrap this up. For my very best, very best friends that I've had since I was, some in elementary school, then middle of high school, we've known each other for years and years and years and years. i am the youngest. She's the baby I'm the baby and they will never in their lives every year the end of it.

Speaker: We're all born in 1990, every single one of us, but it's just so fun to be like, oh my God, like you guys are that old. I'm actually not there yet. So as the baby...

Speaker: As the one being 36, I am very, very hopeful for this year for myself. I feel very self-assured in who I am as a person, as a friend, as a mother, as a sister, as an aunt, as a daughter. I feel very assured in every single part of my life. So I am just um looking forward to all that is to come for the chapter that is 36. Love that.

Speaker: Cheers to that. Cheers. I do have some left. So I will cheers. You don't have any left. you cheers I know I, I i finished it. I will be pouring another glass though. Um, in your honor, of course. Um, but that was beautifully said. And with that,

Speaker: That's a wrap. That's our show. That's all the birthday mama tea we have for today. Thank you guys so much for listening. Don't forget to rate and review us on whatever platform you're listening on. As always, tell all your friends and keep on whining.

Speaker: Cheers.
