Speaker: and welcome back to another episode of the ohhanna packers edition podcast today we are looking ahead to the packers game in tampa against the buccaneers um where the packers look to get back to five hundred again for the second time on the season and
Speaker: joe At least one half of the Gutekunst-Laflore production company did something regarding the weak spot on the team, but um thoughts on the three signings that Gutekunst has made since Thursday night's game?
Speaker: To be honest... I don't know. We kind of talked about the Tomlinson one and the... oh Or no, we haven't since then, have we?
Speaker: Yeah. um So, okay, there was Lakin Tomlinson, Mekhi Becton, and then of course the Kevin Zeitler one today.
Speaker: Let's face it, it's just a giant bandage at this point in time. ah You know, this is the stuff that you have to work out in the offseason, and I know we we've kind of railed on that over and over again. that you know this And a lot of people seem to think that means, you know, why didn't they take more in the draft? No, I'm not even talking about why didn't they take more in the draft.
Speaker: Why didn't they bring in a veteran-type guy that could have done a little bit more... ah in the offseason now it did come out that both becton and um zeitler had off had off-season surgery so that kind of held up but you know there are probably other guys that they could have looked at to bring in that you know break and you know break glass in case of emergency type situation they could have went out and played but
Speaker: all I've been on record saying that I would have preferred a guy like Evan Neal just because of the age. You know, he's he's young enough that there's a possibility that he could have he could turn a lot of things around.
Speaker: Tomlinson, I get, is going to have, you know, he's 34 years old. He's got snaps. He's got a long record of starting and all that. But... you know you know what you're pretty much going to get with him. He's not going to be an all-pro... I'm assuming he's going to slot into left guard because that's what he's mainly played in his career.
Speaker: You know, he's just going to be that guy that's going to eat up a lot of snaps and possibly, hopefully not get Jordan Love killed. Becton, on the other hand, is a little bit more of the type that I was talking about where he is young enough that he could possibly have something click.
Speaker: But, you know, he's starting to get into that. What is he? He's 27 going 28. So he's getting into that. You are what you are, Rage. Yeah. And, you know, I i know Wendell Ferreira has been pounding the table for him, but I just, I'm not sold on him, but as a as a backup guy, as ah an emergency situation guy, okay.
Speaker: And Zeitler, i If this was four years ago, i would feel more better about the Zeitler signing. I mean, I know he's played very well the older he's gotten, but again, these are just bandages because it does nothing for you eat in the future either.
Speaker: You know, this is the type of situation where it's like, oh shit, we messed up. Now let's throw a quick bandage on it and then hope we can figure it out next year. yeah on one hand i agree that like you know and that's the part you know when people ask like oh why didn't go do more and stuff and we like you said we've hashed it out i think part of the irritation and frustration you hear when good and the floor talk about the o-line situation is a lot of it is that they thought banks was gonna be healthy coming into this season i know
Speaker: Well, I'm going to stop you on that one. It's not even that they were banking on that, but I mean, look at the guys that they've lost. They lost John Runyon. They didn't really replace John Runyon. They lost Josh Myers. They really didn't replace Josh Myers.
Speaker: They lost Elton Jenkins. They really didn't replace Elton Jenkins. They lost Rasheed Walker. They kind of replaced Rasheed with, you know, Rasheed, we talked about it for a while. Rasheed was on the way out.
Speaker: anyway with the drafting of Morgan, so you know he slotted in there. But they were losing guys without actually like replacing the ones that they were losing in in a way.
Speaker: In a way, but I think, like, hindsight is 20-20 and all that kind of stuff, but at the time Runyon left, it looked like Ryan was the better player at right guard.
Speaker: And at the time Myers left, they thought, okay, we have Elton to play center. That one is a little flakier because it's like, we'll have Elton to play at center, and then we'll figure it out. They haven't figured it out totally. Well, a little bit.
Speaker: and So I half agree with you that like they made gambles when they let a lot of those guys leave in free agency. and Well, I think what I'm saying is they didn't replenish the depth.
Speaker: Yes, that definitely. ya Yeah, yeah, yeah. Look at the depth that they with replaced it with. They have depth that is fringe NFL depth as opposed, and nobody has eight starting worthy O-linemen. That's wishful thinking. But you'd like to think that you'd have guys who could survive.
Speaker: for ah a week or two here or there and not like oh god are they gonna get us out of this quarter or out of this drive much less kind of thing so i agree there and that's really all this is is like i agree with you that it's a stop gap they're all band-aids and stuff but at the same time the way good is looking at it is we can't get jordan dead this year and I'm not disagreeing with that part of it either. I'm just saying that you know this is just a stopgap year and it's like you still haven't done anything to fix going forward.
Speaker: yeah You hope Jagger Burton takes step. Um, you know, Sean Ryan hopefully gets a little bit better with, I can't blame the whole O-line situation on him because of what he's been dealing with the both guard positions. Yeah. Um, they, they, you can't fully blame Belton because of the same situation, but it really comes down to why.
Speaker: this is why This is another reason why I say it's and also not a whole Goot situation. Because at least Goot has tried to bring guys in. Yes. Why aren't they getting the development they need?
Speaker: yeah That goes to the coaching situation. And like like I said, you can have your... you know Like I said, I still have my reservations on Morgan being the future at left tackle and all that kind of stuff. But...
Speaker: It's not Goode's fault that he's like, this is our left... Like, he said it in his post-draft presser. Like, we envision him as the left tackle of the future, and then you just don't play him at left tackle for two seasons for anything that matters. think they weren't prepared for Rashid to step in and play like he did for as long as he did.
Speaker: Yeah, but that's neither here nor there. My reaction to all of it is I'm glad they did something. And the sooner they can get any combination of those three up to starting...
Speaker: ah I know some people are like, Beckton can play tackle. I don't think you want him to play tackle anymore in his career. like he never He had times where he looked good at tackle in New York with the Jets, but he just never could stay healthy at tackle. and i just For a guy who's been healthy once in his career, which was the Eagles year, in the most ideal O-line situation he's ever been in,
Speaker: and Like, it's, like, for all the people that do the bellyaching over um contract year performance and all that kind of shit, it's no different than what Becton did in his year in Philadelphia, where it's like, oh, great, he had the ideal optimal situation in Philadelphia with the league's best O-line coach and three other all pros on that line. It's like, oh, cool, like, he ain't got that here. yeah.
Speaker: But obviously he's a packer. I'm rooting for him to play well because that's Jordan. Well, this also an indication of what they think of Becton at the moment anyway. He was signed directly to the practice squad. He wasn't even signed as an active roster type guy. I'm curious too because I wonder when he got his surgery versus when Zeitler got his surgery.
Speaker: And like I wonder if... Like, Labrum stuff, I know just takes a long time to come back from. So, like, I wonder how much of it is that. and Or just, like you said, flat out, how much of it is, like, well, we'll see what you look like and how fast you can pick up the... um Like, I do think there's degrees to that, whereas, like, with Zeitler, it's a matter of just, are you healthy or are you not kind of thing. And...
Speaker: um But yeah, so Zeitler and Tomlinson, just to clean it up and put a bow on it, Zeitler and Tomlinson are on the active roster, and Becton is probably going to be a game day elevation. We'll see how that goes.
Speaker: um But on the practice side of it... um So DNPs for the Packers, Banks, Brooks, Campbell, and Monk.
Speaker: Banks, honestly, we we talked about he should just go on IR. Brooks with an illness, so keep him away from the new guys and the rest of the team, honestly. Campbell with an ankle, I think that's what he was dealing with before the... Yeah, he's been dealing with it. so you know hopefully he can get right and then monk you know has a quad and then it was good to see that cooper was able to participate with um as he's progressing hopefully through concussion protocol and then brinson finally was able to get on the practice field this season unfortunately it sounded like he went down at one point but then got back up and rejoined practice so we'll see how he participates tomorrow That makes sense because he's got two injury designations, calf and groin, where it used to be groin. I mean, it used to be calf.
Speaker: Yeah. And then um Lucas with a shoulder, but I'm sure that's just going to be one of those wear and tear kind of things. Well, I think he's been dealing with that since week one because wasn't he put on the, yeah, something like that.
Speaker: Bucks, on the other hand, for once, a lengthier injury list than the Packers. I'll start with their limited participants because that's the shorter part. So limited is a linebacker, Servosia Dennis, wide receiver.
Speaker: oh no, running back Bucky Irving, who missed last week's game with his injury. DB Keontae Scott with the toe and linebacker Josiah Trotter with the shoulder. DNPs.
Speaker: Reuben Bain Jr., their top draft pick, edge rusher. Yaya Diaby, pass rusher. Chris Godwin, ankle. Cole Cleft, um tight end. ah Baker Mayfield, he is not playing this week. Is that Cleft or is it Keeft?
Speaker: My eyes are all fudge today. looks like K-I-E-F-G. Oh, you're right. Kieft. Sorry. Sorry, Cole. Rakim Nunez, Roches, nose tackle. Jacob Parrish, cornerback.
Speaker: All DNPs, so obviously it's the first day of practice of the week. The Bucs did play on Sunday, whereas the Packers played on Thursday. But, you know, lot of names to track for the Packers because that's a lot of guys who um potentially could miss this week's game for the Bucs. And like I said, um...
Speaker: Baker is already out. And um what's it called? Jalen Daniels. Is he out? Is he? Do they have him legit as out? Because they have not made any. I know they have like two other quarterbacks on the practice squad, but they have not done anything with Baker yet.
Speaker: I think they... I thought they... I don't know if... i Like you said, I don't know if you... I think you're right that they may not have officially ruled him out, but based on what the injury is, like all the Twitter doctors, including the like doctor doctors, are like, there's no way he can play with that. And it's a matter of, is he going on IR because he's getting surgery, or are they going to wait it out and see if the tendon or whatever heals on its own kind of thing, so... Or do they do what Brett Favre did that one year and they just melt a splint to him before every game? and The problem is Baker doesn't have the mitts the size that Brett does where you can fuck around with something like that. I believe they said that Jalen starting. or I believe they already said that Daniels is starting this week. Okay. And so, yay. I just had to ask, because like I said, you see it the practice report, he was a DNP. But when you go over and look at, I've been trying to pay attention to all the news lately on that front. They haven't IR'd him yet.
Speaker: um They haven't brought up another quarterback yet, so it's going to have to be a game day elevation for him. So, because right now the only two on roster is on main roster is Baker and Jalen.
Speaker: Yep. So, and then we'll just use that to roll into our um preview, the Packers defense against the Bucks offense. um If Baker does go, i don't I just don't see how he's going to be able to throw the football. And um for as much as the Packers' skill positions have been, ah you know, I know that like Christian and Golden are producing, like, they're on pace for, like, 1,400 and a 1,600-yard season.
Speaker: The Bucs, like, Emeka Ekbuka, after being, like, a darling as a rookie, has just had a terrible start to this season. and I know it's only three games, but there's been a lot of murmurs and grumbling about his play so far this season.
Speaker: um Chris Godwin, as noted, was a DNP today, um and he's seem to be he's gotten old a little fast recently. And um what's it called?
Speaker: um Rookie draft ah drat dream Ted Hurst III is there as well. But, you know, for the Packers, I feel like this is going to be sort of a repeat. You know, as if Daniel starts, it's going to be a similar game plan to what they kind of were showing against um Kyler, where, you know, Jalen isn't the same explosive type of athlete Kyler is, but similar mobile quarterback.
Speaker: um likes to play out of the pocket more than in the pocket and stuff. So, you know, it's nice that Gannon, you know, even though like Daniels hasn't really played in the NFL, that Gannon has like a way, he has sort of ah a game plan for that type of quarterback already.
Speaker: um And then as far as the run game, like, If Irving can play, I guess that gives them a little bit more legitimacy back there. But otherwise, you know, Kenneth Gainwell, he's a good... I think he's a better, like, receiving back than he is a running running back, if that makes sense.
Speaker: But... I know we said it the last couple weeks, but this is a game where the Packers' defense, if it's getting any sort of support from the offense, should be able to to snuff the life out of this Tampa Bay offense, honestly.
Speaker: I will give Tampa a little bit of credit. They do have a decent offensive line. They do. Wirfs is the one who's playing best, but the rest of it's kind of been more named than capability so far, I feel like.
Speaker: Yeah, I don't know. i I think it's kind of like one of those where it's like, okay, well, we have one weak link, so it kind of brings down the rest of...
Speaker: because You know, their guard situation is a little rough. I mean, they've got Cody Mock, who I really liked a few years ago in the draft. Of course, they've got Wirfs, who is an all-pro left tackle.
Speaker: ah Draft darling Graham Barton, who Packer fans all wanted draft. to draft I mean, they've got guys there. just When I look through at everything, their their other guard position is what looks weak.
Speaker: Dan Feeney has been not much of anything throughout his career. I mean, he's been a steady hand, but never really has kicked it up a notch. Yeah.
Speaker: Ben Bredesen, isn't that the one the Packers had on their practice squad for the longest time? No, that Braden, but Bredesen also went to Michigan too. Just like a full, like, a couple cycles later kind of thing.
Speaker: ah So, I mean, their're their one guard position seems to be what is really holding them down for the most part. But, yeah, Tampa Bay overall has been – for a team that a lot of people had as Super Bowl favorites going into the season, they've they've really, – like taken a step back, especially after Baker signed his big money contract. So yeah, if running back situation, though if ah Bucky can't go, i don't even remember who Sean Tucker is, so I can't tell you anything about him.
Speaker: No, he's four-year player. oh crud. Yeah. Yeah, I'm looking right at the roster. He's a four-year player out of Syracuse. I have no idea. I don't remember him at all.
Speaker: oh Gainwell, I think a lot of people have been kind of hype about him down in Tampa. I don't know if it is because of him coming out of the backfield in past situations or whatever it is. It was because he was supposed to compliment Irving because Irving's like more of a pounding runner type kind of thing, and then Gainwell gets you a little bit more like...
Speaker: versatility out of the backfield um they so i think they just recently signed this josh williams to their practice squad um so yeah i mean and then receiver situation yeah ted hurst and godwinner and and bouquet are the three that You have to wonder, but if Godwin's out, then you got Ibuki and Hurst. And I want to say Hurst and Cissé have battled each other, haven't they?
Speaker: Yes, I think they did. Because I think that's one of the games I watched, and I'm pretty sure Cissé had a pretty decent game against Hurst. Yeah.
Speaker: So granted, it's a whole different system that both of them are playing in, but you would at least hope CSA can remember some of the things because even though you're in a different system, a lot of times you have the same tells.
Speaker: Yeah. So it's the same and all that kind of stuff. Yeah. Yeah, so ah that that should be good for them. But, yeah, it's going to be an interesting game. Plus, Green Bay struggles going down to Florida.
Speaker: So, yeah. yeah um And then on the other side of the ball, like I said, there's a lot of names on here that are, you know, with one practice, you don't know who's going where and stuff. So, you know, one of the big ones is Nunez Roches. That's Vitavea's backup.
Speaker: And then there are three of their four starting linebackers in Diaby, Dennis, and Bain are all, we're all DNPs on Wednesday. And the other linebacker is old friend Alex Anzalone.
Speaker: Not great. um Obviously, the big name to watch in the back end is Antoine Winfield Jr., who um is still a solid player, but it has been a little injury prone of late, if I remember correctly.
Speaker: And, like, this is a unit that has given Green Bay issues in the past, but I just don't feel like it has the, like... you know, the the year that Tampa won the Super Bowl, like, Levante David is not in this defensive this defense anymore, and he really was the one that, like, screwed all kinds of things up for the Packers um in 2020, and, you know, Devin White was able to just totally play off of Levante David's ability and, like, just be just be a pure athlete while David made all the football plays kind of thing, so... um
Speaker: You know, Bowles is i've cut from a similar ilk to um to to Flores and um Glenn in the sense that he will just keep bringing pressure as he sees fit. You know, he won't he's not going to wait for the moment or anything like that. But um I just don't think Tampa has the horses like Minnesota or even New York does, like especially from a pass rush standpoint to...
Speaker: put the kind of pressure, especially, like I said, especially in the scenario where um one or both, a you know, one or both the guard positions are being played by a combination of Tomlinson, um Bectin and or Zeitler. And, you know, like, the thing we keep circling back to is we're not expecting all pro play. We're just expecting you, those... Don't kill Jordan. Yeah, just do not be shit. Like, it's a low bar, but that's literally the difference that the Packers are looking for is, like...
Speaker: even if they didn't get Even if you got slightly below the average play, that would be night and day difference between what they're getting right now. And like yeah like I said, even to go from where they are to like the 20th best O-line would be an immaculate improvement. And like I think this offense could hit 30 points kind of thing and stuff. so Any thoughts you got for the matchup on that side of the ball?
Speaker: I mean... it
Speaker: I would love to, but without knowing what kind of offensive line play you're going to get, it's hard to, because, you know, I would love to say that, oh yeah, Green Bay is going to have, you know, because I don't know.
Speaker: and I closed out of the roster, but I don't know Tampa's situation on, um, on their corners. I mean, yeah, there's, Winfield's pretty good. Tykee Smith is pretty good and for safety, but you know, I'm not sure what their corner situation is.
Speaker: So you would hope that if they can give Jordan enough time, Golden and and Christian Watson should feast. So, you know, I look for Golden to have another big game.
Speaker: Maybe Mr. Uh, I don't, I can't play better when you guys are booing. Tucker craft can, can finally start doing better.
Speaker: um So, and you know, if the offensive line really plays better with Tomlinson and Zeitler slash Becton, I could see the run game open up a little bit more.
Speaker: So, you know, maybe Caleb Johnson and Marshawn Lloyd can, can open up at least a little bit to allow the pass game to to have a better chance of success.
Speaker: So on paper,
Speaker: the Packers should be able to do better.
Speaker: But until we know how this offensive line is going to mesh together on such short notice, it's hard to even... yeah You can't say for certain.
Speaker: All right. Anything else you wanted to talk about or are you kind of good with where we're at? Just don't be stupid on defense. You've got a kid that's undrafted coming in never started in the league before, rookie,
Speaker: had a lot of hype on him in college, but bounced around everywhere until he could settle in. Don't be stupid. He's going to make his mistakes, but don't force him into anything. He's going to make mistakes on his own.
Speaker: You just gotta be in the right place at the right time, so I just... Yeah, I... That's about all I can say, and then, like I keep saying, offensive line, don't get Jordan killed.
Speaker: Alright, well on that note, I'm ready for your over-unders. Man, we're really going through this episode quick. Uh, so some of these, obviously we got the big one off the board list past week with the Matthew Gordon, golden getting his first career regular season touchdown. So that one is no longer on, on the, uh, uh, over unders for the week.
Speaker: Uh, there are going to be some holdovers for awhile, but you know, until they, prove us wrong you know whatever ah first one is gonna be tucker craft over under 35 and a half receiving yards i i want to say yes but maybe if i give him the bad juju um
Speaker: it'll it'll work for him but until then you know you get your head in the game man ah Don't worry about what the crowd's doing. If it bothers you that much, play a little bit better and they won't boo you ah and you. And you just gave fodder to all the other fan bases that now they're just gonna boo you because they know, because of what you said, obviously it bugged you.
Speaker: and now it's gonna they're gonna do it to bug you even more. So I'm gonna go under on it, just hopefully. I'm going over because this should be a good matchup for him, but yep, I agree with you, he's gotta produce.
Speaker: My next one, I should change the number on it just for the hell of it but Love get hit gets hit ten and a half times. I think last week I had it set a little bit lower, and we both...
Speaker: Or I mean, it hit the over because he got hit a lot. So I set it 10.5 this week. what What are you thinking on that? I'm going under, and I'm going to say if both the guard spots, if jenny i e Jennings is not the starter, um I'm going to go as low as 5.
Speaker: Yeah, you I would just hope that they're not dumb enough to even if Tomlinson and Zeitler haven't been in the system that long to start Jennings or Burton over those guys. I i couldn't.
Speaker: if that's a case that's I am glad that Tomlinson was just getting the reps today. like Like, they showed that thing where it was like, oh, Zeitler kind of looked like a sixth, you know, just in terms of how they were lining up and stuff that Zeitler... I'm glad that Tomlinson is like, nope, you're the you're the left guard already kind of thing. And like, um I'm hoping that it won't be long before Zeitler or Becton is in at right guard. Like, just, yeah, like you said, don't be stupid at this point.
Speaker: I... Now you got me worried because it's like, our with the way this coaching staff is. Yeah, I know. i ah um I'm to go under.
Speaker: But now you got me worried on that that one a little bit. You're going have to change your answer on this one because it's not a yes or no. Motherfuck. Yeah. gold of Matthew Golden over under 65 and a half yards.
Speaker: I take the over because I think, like I said, I'm not sure if Tampa has enough to stop the wide receivers.
Speaker: It's all going to depend on if the line holds up enough for Jordan to feast. Same. I'm going over, and I think he's going to have ah over 100 because I think this is one of those games where Watson may have, like, one explosive, but I don't think he's a good matchup because Bowles likes to play a lot of man coverage, and he's probably going to shade Winfield over to Watson's side, and that's just never been Watson's strong shoot to defeat that, whereas this is a game that's kind of tailor-made for Golden to go off in.
Speaker: Um...
Speaker: yeah the next one is lucas over under half a sack i said it at half a sack because he missed out on getting his sack last week because of bullshit rules uh so yeah i think he does quarterbacks i i think he does just because he's gonna rattle the young kid so yeah i i'm gonna go with the over it would be an I know he probably won't rush over Werfs that much, but if he got one on Werfs, that would be... Gauraki is a good right tackle as well, but to get to to be able to hang a pelt on Werfs would be really nice for Lucas' season. Let's see, what is this? This is Werfs' seventh year in the league? and this is Yes.
Speaker: Lucas is fourth. So Lucas would have been a freshman when Wirfs went out.
Speaker: So they really didn't cross paths at Iowa too much. Yeah, no. He might have met him on a recruiting trip or something. Because was Wirfs a junior a senior when he went out?
Speaker: If it was a junior, then they didn't meet at all. But if he was a senior, then he probably would have... All I know is he left after the 19 season. That's all I know. He was in the 20 draft.
Speaker: I don't remember. um Anyway, yeah i was just trying to think if they had crossed paths at all, and I'd have to go back and do the work on it. Over under Caleb Johnson, 30.5 yards. Again, this is dependent on what oh The offensive line does.
Speaker: I take the over because I ride or die for my Iowa guys. so
Speaker: Yep, same. I think that and i think that against like this is kind of one of those where you just got to go and get your yards kind of game, and that's more Caleb's game than it is Lloyd's.
Speaker: And that could be, but I could see them also force-feeding Lloyd a lot more ah just because of the fact that, you know, they're hype up over hunt him.
Speaker: i i'm looking at his did i'm guessing mike's daughter got into the fingernail polish and oh yeah this is this is how um i was she was trying to help help me get through the freaking overtime period uh this is remnants from the jets game Um, all right. My next one is, sorry, it was a distraction. Over under, not not that there's any wrong anything wrong with men painting their nails if they really want them to. It just, it flashed on the screen and it it was a distraction. ah
Speaker: Over under x Xavier McKinney, half an interception. So either he's going to get one or he's not. I think he does because I think that this defense has done well enough when they have enough rest that they're going to force Jalen Daniels to make a mistake.
Speaker: And so far the only quote-unquote proven ball hawk. that the Packers have is Xavier McKinney because everybody else seems to like to drop things so I think if anybody gets the INT it's going to be McKinney I can see I just think that I think they will get one but i don't think it's going to be X I think X is just going to be kind of all over the field and he just won't be the guy in position to make a play if that makes sense
Speaker: So this one I put on the list because I got super annoyed on Thursday night listening to Alan Michaels continuously say it. And I don't know if it was just the annoyance from him talking about it or the annoyance of him talking about it plus the Packers getting their asses handed to him by Atlanta, but over under 7.5 mentions that Trey Smack was the only kicker drafted in 2026.
Speaker: Doesn't help that he got the kick, or not he didn't get, but the Packers got his kick blocked too right after Al brought it up. I think over because not only that, but he kicked at Florida and the game is in the state of Florida. So even more so, they're going to be like, oh, there he is. Like, he's not even from Florida, but you know what i mean, that he went to, that he's a Florida Gator and all that kind of thing.
Speaker: And especially because we have fucking Vilma again. and
Speaker: I don't think Vilma, because with this his CTE, I don't think he's going to remember that Trace Mack was drafted this year. ah i think that what's-his-face is going to... Is it Burkhart who's his guy? but whoever is I think feel like his play-by-play guy is going to be like, yeah, only kicker drafted, right? Like you said, crickets.
Speaker: Yeah, so I'm going to take the under in hopes that I don't have to listen to that continuously. I was getting super annoyed with that. It was driving me nuts. Yes, we understand Al that he was the only kicker drafted in 2026.
Speaker: at like I love Al Michaels, like one of the most storied play-by-play careers you know it across a lot of different sports, but I say it all the time for across all sports, like these channels need to stop treating calling games like senior care. like Let's just like just let Al be happily retired.
Speaker: like Or take the booze out of the friggin' ah uh box because you know as the game goes on he sounds more and more liquored up so because they have to keep him there like he's like i'm gonna leave um well especially when you have him calling especially when you have him calling freaking thursday night games which on on overwhelming majority are absolute slot fests anyway so it's like yeah yeah And I mean, he he's still cogniz- it's not like the old, you know- It's not like Hubie Brown calling games or anything like that. Right, or when Pat Summerall was going towards the end of his career. Oh yeah, that was sad. It's a little bit like that, but yeah, not quite as bad where you can tell Jon's like, he's not here. he yeah You can tell Madden's like, Pat, we've lost Pat again. Yeah, at least Al Michaels is there because he does throw in zingers once in a great while or throws in some kind of... He reminds you that he is still Al Michaels, but yeah, like 70% of the time is, I'm cashing a paycheck Al Michaels. Yeah. yeah
Speaker: But that's the end of the over-unders. Yep. I mean, nothing like I said, there's nothing super complicated for this game. this It'll be a lot easier coming up with them when i when we know what this offensive line is going to do. I know.
Speaker: like That's the thing. is like um you know like um Trey Watson posted it where it's like he said you know the O-line has cost them at least one of these three games that they've played so far. and Sure, like you know the like you kind of pointed out, these guys are more has-beens than will-bees and stuff, but Just having guys who know what to do and sure they might be in the twilight of their careers, but just having the know-how and the physical and mental prowess to just not fuck a play up every other play kind of thing, like that's a monumental upgrade for where the Packers were and stuff. so We need to do a prop bet on which one of these veterans gets in a fight with Luke Buckus first. what
Speaker: It's probably going to be Zeitler of any of them. because i just i don't know i i used to ride the bikers train because it just you know you thought there was something there but now as years keep piling on and the worse and worse this o-line gets i yeah i and what makes it even worse is you pointed this out i think on our review of the falcons game When Steno was the O-line coach, they were still top-notch O-lines.
Speaker: So why isn't he stepping more into the O-line room and saying, hey, we need to start doing it this way or we need to start doing it this way? Why is Luke Buckus being left to his own devices?
Speaker: to be a fly on that wall, but that is not where we reside, unfortunately. um but And you're never going to get a ah ah straight answer no matter what. I mean, you could ask these guys to until you're blue in the face and you'll never get an answer of them. commend the beat for at actually asking, like, is there any talk of him, of Stenovich going back into an O-line coach? I commend the beat for... it like you Like you've said so many, you're never going to get a real answer on that, but I commend them for actually asking the question. like
Speaker: like just to just i don't blame a lot of things on the beat writers. It's just yeah you're never going to get anything out of the... the ah So I think the press conferences just need to go away.
Speaker: yeah and until you Until you're going to get a ah coach in there that'll... And like I said, I tweeted out... In response to JJ Leahy couple days ago, because he was starting to bitch about the press conferences too.
Speaker: Once in a blue moon, you get a good sound bite out of a fricking press conference, but it's not too often. So why even bother with it anymore? It's not like back in the day when coaches would go in there and start ranting. When's the last time we had a good coach rant in a press conference that they still use as sound bites?
Speaker: Yeah, it's it's it's been a hot minute. But we're we're starting to spiral. We're running out of material, so we'll put a pin in it. and We're just getting pissed.
Speaker: and this is We're getting pissed because this should not be the way the Packers are playing. Yup. But, um you know, no time better than Sunday to turn the ship around and get back on the winning way and have it be a potential springboard for the rest of the season. but And I don't want to advocate for this, but after seeing the viewing... Well, I should say I should... But to save my ass from any kind of retribution or any kind of troubles...
Speaker: I, after seeing the viewing map for how many people are, what people are going to be able to see this game, I do not condone you being a pirate and stealing the NFL streams.
Speaker: Wink, wink.
Speaker: Or just be an idiot like me and pay for Sunday ticket. But that's going to do it for us before before um the before the internet shuts us down. um Check us out on our favorite so on and social medias at Ohana underscore Packers on Twitter, at Ohana Packers Edition on Instagram.

Speaker: But... That's going to do it for us tonight. um The Packers look to go to the other bay, ah the other team with bay in their name, try to get a win. And like I said, get back to 500 and keep pacing this division.
Speaker: um Hopefully it'll be like week two where we got some help ah from um adjacent teams and who can help knock down some of the division opponents. But until then, it's for the Packers to make their own luck.
Speaker: Go Pack Goat and Aloha.
