Speaker: You've seen these guys kind of move around from your window and obviously you know... Even though though we've rolled bomb stealth checks, Will has been out to sea. Yes. I perceive you.

Speaker: um Will can perceive everything. Uh...

Speaker: ah ah Actually, his passive perception. So, suck a dick. No, that's right. Fuck you, Callum.

Speaker: Hello everybody and welcome to this week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop. We are a LivePlay 5.5e D&D podcast set in the magical home-brewed world of Earth. I am Callum and I am your Dungeon Master for this mini-series that we are running. With us tonight, we have one of our great walkers, Will, playing Alessio.

Speaker: Let's do this. We have another fantastic walker, Ian, playing Caelan. Let's do this. And finally, one of the best riders in the business, and he lets his velociraptor do the walking, Remy, played by Darren.

Speaker: Let's ride this. And even though they were kind of here last week and we didn't do anything with him, but he is with us this week and he is going to get some D&D playtime and he is going to be able to put in all the hard work and effort into his character that I'm sure has been planning weeks and months or we have our other Will here with us tonight.

Speaker: I like to watch. ever as creepy. However, I am going to chuck the microphone over to our very own Darren to just recap us on last session.

Speaker: wheel Well, listeners, let's recap on what happened in our last session. A really friendly tavern keeper came out of the pub, or a tavern as perhaps it should be known in the wonderful world of Dungeons and Dragons. And did that tavern keeper have some exposition for us? He sure did. We found out all sorts of wonderful things about the town. Didn't get his name though.

Speaker: turns out our contact the orchid as it may be may have been being followed by one of these big giant absolute f-off constructs so what happens is is that alessio and remy decided to go have a little stroll around the town into the pub find out some things uh alessio got touched up by a tabaxi who was kind enough to hand out some potions of healing While that was happening, we switched over to the forest to see what our elf eyes can see. And what the elf eyes could see is that there was clearly a pursuit happening.

Speaker: And what happened once we rejoined our Elven Campalian, our Elven Campalian Calum, we decided that we would walk with him in the direction of said footprints. There was some absolute great botany happening in this session in which our DM was able to give some very vivid descriptions of what grass looks like.

Speaker: And then eventually we stumbled across a tower. Turns out this tower was an illusion and the construct was bashing at that tower. How's the tower bashing going? Will the tower collapse because of how hard it's being bashed? And what happens when you bash your tower? Let's find out in tonight's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop.

Speaker: Yes, we have a tower that is indeed being bashed, and I hope you're all going to join us for the tower bashing session. um If our players would like to just click on that link in our chat and zoom straight over to our woo new, wonderful D&D Beyond map, I will give our listeners a little bit of a lowdown on what they see.

Speaker: Now, Your characters are at the far end, of the far west end of our map. You can see a large construct hitting away at what you guys now clearly realize is an illusion, just placed in front of what looks like a very real tower. Clearly, something is at play here, something untoward, something mystical.

Speaker: This tower rests in quite a large expanse of water, but only in width. The actual depth of it, you guys can tell, is not overly deep. If one were to wade into it, it would probably just come up above your knees.

Speaker: That being said, if you were to wade into it for the sake of combat, it would be classed as difficult terrain. Circling round on the north and the south, we have two almost like a yin-yang

Speaker: raised land region. So up north, it's going to to kind of start low and then get higher and higher as it goes around to the back of the tower. And then on the south side, we have a high point.

Speaker: that gets lower as it goes further to the east. There is a nice level of vegetation that is around here. At the moment, this large construct that you can see that's standing approximately 50 feet, 50 feet, no, 15 feet tall has not noticed you.

Speaker: However, With your passive perception, you can see the faint silhouette of somebody in one of the windows of this tower.

Speaker: How would you like to get yourself set up? oh we So we're completely unnoticed at this point. so You have been unnoticed by the large construct at the moment. He is still bashing that tower.

Speaker: Alessica's going to look towards to the left and the right. I'm sort of thinking towards ah the northern rocks. is that Are the trees dense enough for me to be able to go and take cover there? The ones that around you, probably not dense enough. They are sparsely placed.

Speaker: I'm thinking... um Does this ping? How do I ping? I can see your ping. I'm thinking up there, towards the north where the rocks are. That's fine. the The rocks that you kind of see there, they're slightly raised. So you do possibly have an area more behind the rocks than rather in the trees where you could get your nice hiding advantage.

Speaker: Okay, I'm going to move 30 feet um up there, stealthily moving 30 feet up to there. Okay, in that case, I will take a stealth check, please. Okie dokie. 15.

Speaker: fifteen 15. is a pass. You can quite happily move yourself, if you so wish, up towards those rock bases. I will emphasize as well that because of the wonderful five hours worth of um

Speaker: whatever Will does that lets you all communicate telepathically, and that is still ongoing at the moment. That has not worn off years.

Speaker: Remy, how would you like to position yourself before any kind of combat-based happenings go off?

Speaker: Great. Thanks very much. Hold on. It's only right, Darren, you've only had a whole turn to decide what you're going to do here.

Speaker: Remy is going to do what he normally does. He's just going to to hover in the saddle, knowing that if there has to be a charge, it's him who who typically takes it.

Speaker: So he's just going to be, you easy boy. We ain't going in there just yet, but you'll be ready now. And I'm just going to hold position where I am.

Speaker: Okay, you are holding position just opposite the tower um that the ah Construct is currently attacking. Caelan, Caelan Ashwing.

Speaker: What's that tree looking like in the east-south, southeast, the one nearest the water? Is it? Yeah, whoever's pinging it, that's perfect. It looks quite voluptuous and full on my screen, like I could scale it.

Speaker: I want to know, Callum, can I scale it? It is quite voluptuous and it is quite full, and yes, you can absolutely scale it. However... That thing is probably only about eight feet tall.

Speaker: Don't know if that would change your plans whatsoever. Yeah, that's pretty short. That's a fucking short ash tree. It is pretty short. um i will Looking around then, after looking at that fucking tree and going, I could probably jump over that bastard. Is there anything taller around this area?

Speaker: Talk to me about the vegetation. What's the blade of grass? How tall are they? The blades of grass are approximately 36mm tall around this particular area. The trees, however, the majority of them... Well trimmed, they're weird, okay.

Speaker: Yes, nothing like a piece of well trimmed grass. They keep the bush trim. What about that rock face that I see on the south border? The south border, that is quite high. you've probably got That would be quite actually similar to the place of worship in the first place. You would have to scale it.

Speaker: Let's fucking go. is pretty sheer, so it would be a harder climb than what the yeah place of worship would be because this is going to be subjugated to weathering and moss build-up and everything else. But yes, if you want to attempt to climb it, go for it.

Speaker: Okay, before I do that, Caleb again, Kalen again, is going to just kneel down um and click his hands that familiar, you know me guys, how I cast spells. look good ldida ah That Navi type creature from Zelda touches my boots as I cast Longstrider, which gives me my speed increase by 10 feet.

Speaker: um And it lasts for an hour. So your speed is now 40 feet, yes? 45. 45. Yeah.

Speaker: and Fantastic. That's what I'm doing. How far is the rocks from where I am? It's longer than... i'm going dash. No, because I've just cast. I'm going to move 45 feet.

Speaker: ah feats We're not in an initiative order quite so yet, so you don't have to follow it explicitly. I'm going to scale the rock. Take me to the Pride Rock. Take me to Pride Rock. In the same time that Nessio has head to the north to find his hiding place, Caelan moved down to the south to, as he would do it, Pride Rock, which is standing very proudly uh and starts to climb up uh do me a dexterity check please if you oh shit here we go dexterity i'm so glad that i've got that as a um as a good oh yeah 21

Speaker: to anyone you can scale the side of this pretty damn easily even with its weathered conditions so you uh what does it was about 40 feet uh high i believe uh this precipice so you've got quite a again high advantageous against most other people and uh have we got that teleconnected link up still there okay Same as you on my ah my shop.

Speaker: Yeah, I've got an idea. just just Just see we can completely confuse this thing. Do you see those two things, to this those two trees down into the the very southwest of the map?

Speaker: Mm-hmm. What Folly has done is he sniffed and he suggests towards them as a hiding spot. And what I'm going to do is just look at Folly and just go...

Speaker: Clever boy. And I'm going to try and move over to those bushes so I can hide in them. Much like the clever girl in Jurassic Park. ah you You and Folly are going to go hide in those trees to the south then? Yes.

Speaker: Okie dokie. We can move you down there. um Can you make a stealth check for me as well, just as you are attempting to hide yourself? 16.

Speaker: sixteen That is absolutely fine. You can stealthily navigate down to the bottom side of the map there. Before we carry on with yours, Will, is there anything your character would like to do?

Speaker: You've seen these guys kind of move around from your window, and obviously you know... Even though though we've rolled bomb stealth checks, Will has been out to sea. Yes. I perceive you.

Speaker: um Will can perceive everything. ah ah ah Actually, his passive perception. So, suck a dick.

Speaker: No, that's right. Fuck you, Callum. He wouldn't have seen a massive fucking dinosaur with the little bastard riding coming out of the tree line and pointing and going, oh, you climbed the trees, oh, you climbed a rock, oh, I'm going to go down here. That's the best impression of Darren I've heard ever. I thought it was two of me.

Speaker: Why the twin? Seeing some people arrive and then scatter off. She will kind of ah take her place at the the central window, just looking down, ah and won't perceivably do anything different.

Speaker: Again, you can can you see through your own kind of illusion at this stage? I don't imagine so. i don't i don't think it's it's beneficial for me. um But like it depends exactly how how you'd want to rule it, basically. you should be able to. i Because but you know an illusion's an illusion. Exactly. I know it's an illusion. Therefore, you you therefore you can it becomes basically semi-transparent.

Speaker: It becomes like a ghost. That's what I was wondering. I know he'd know it would be a illusion, but is it a solid illusion or is it a semi-transparent illusion? Okay, no, to be fair, it does say the wording right at the end of the spell. does say, if a creature discerns the illusion for what it is the creature can see through the image. Ah, okay. Oh, there you So yes, you do have a line of sight at the very least through your own type of illusion. With that, we wait on the winged watch to see what they would like to do.

Speaker: Uh... No, fuck it. What? She'll start it off. Ah! You little pussy bitches fanning around, hiding off in your little hidey places. Uh...

Speaker: Can this construct, can it make a wisdom saving throw? chi'll chi She'll try and kind of start off the... Are we going into an initiative? Initiative. we will We will roll for initiative now, and I will do a wisdom saving throw. i will give I was waiting for the starter type of thing for it. So everybody still gets to roll with advantage ah for Alessio, Kaylin, and Remy.

Speaker: ah Because the construct kind of knows that you are their Lady G, um then you are... not going to get advantage on your role, but you are going to get like an attack before the rest of the turns kind of happen. I will i will permit that for it. Surprise rounds don't work. And I said on my shot, like I literally have an arrow in my fucking bow ready to go. shot it Lady G doesn't know that. I was going to shoot it and then Callum before we start, I want to turn around to Will. You see everything because you're fucking Neo. I'm like, oh my god. And then I turn around and say, actually, fuck that shit, roll some dice. So what is it you would like to do, Will?

Speaker: Me? Yes. you are I want to cast Dissonant Whispers on this bitch. Okay, so yeah, the wisdom saving throw. They got an eight. Okay, that's a fail. That bitch has to take its reaction immediately to get the fuck away from me whilst it takes 18 points of, if it can, psychic damage.

Speaker: um 18 points of psychic damage. And then, yes, using its I think it uses its reaction. Okay. If available, to move as far away from me as it can on the safest possible route.

Speaker: Okay, right. Okay, so... We'll take that into it, and it's... It can't really use its reaction, though, to walk away, because it doesn't like it use its movement as a reaction, does it?

Speaker: No, no, no, no, no. It's just the wording of the spell says, must immediately use its reaction. If it hasn't used its reaction for an attack of opportunity, the reaction gets burnt.

Speaker: yeah so It starts to move a little bit towards like the end of this narrow area away from it. And this is where we'll roll for initiative, if everybody could do, please.

Speaker: And then I'll go through and get everyone else. Okay. In that case, Alessia, what did you get? um I need to find out what the others got first. I might use my um alert trait to swap around the order initiative. I fucking love this character, Will. I got a 10.

Speaker: let's oh Let's do the swaps. Caelan 10. Okay, Remy, what have you gotten? eighteen eighteen 18. Okay, I got 17. I will swap mine with Caelan, so Caelan can have my initiative and I will have Caelan's initiative.

Speaker: okay just one This is teamwork at its finest. Alert feet, baby. i love it. You have alert feet and I have long strider feet.

Speaker: And ah Will, what did you get? i got a seven. Seven. Awesome, awesome. So you've seen, all of you have seen this large construct just kind of walk away from his troubles in his eye and ah the tower.

Speaker: You don't know what's triggered it. You don't know how it's happened or why it's happened. But this creature is on the move. um Top of the round, we have Remy with 18.

Speaker: Yeah, we have a strategy, which is I wait for the shot. So that technically hasn't happened yet. I look up at the true i look up in the direction of where I know that Kalem has gone. And because the shot hasn't happened yet, and seeing the size of this construct, I'm just going to use another level one spell slot to cast Cure Wounds on myself once more, just as I see the scale of what's in front of us. So the Hit Flass will come up, he'll take a swig.

Speaker: Waffle it round, spit it out, and then cast Cure Wounds on himself. And we just go, here's your boy, as he waits for the shot to start the carnage. These three have a code, which is the the shot needs to play Signal Fire, and that hasn't happened. So Cure Wounds for me.

Speaker: Fair enough. Roll those Cure Wounds dice and see what kind of healing damage you get.

Speaker: Healing damage? That's an oxymoron. I know. I get 15 points of healing. Oh, very nice. That's a fantastic rule. It was. nearly maed Anything else you'd like to do?

Speaker: Nope, that's all I can do. Lovely. We move on Kalen. Arrow-poised. Arrow-poised. Kalen's going to dump his bonus action into Favoured Enemy and cast Hunter's Mark.

Speaker: Let's fucking go He's going to let loose from Whisper, an arrow. and Let's see if it strikes true with an 18 to hit.

Speaker: ah That hits. Yeah, you're damn fucking right it hits. Let's do this.

Speaker: That is 11 points of piercing damage and you have the condition slow.

Speaker: So slow if you hit the creature with the longbow, we deal damage. You reduce its speed by 10 until the start of my next turn. So get down, baby. I'm going to just roll some force damage on your bitch ass.

Speaker: Hit me with some force damage. That's three points of force damage as well. Lovely, lovely. Yep. And in that one swift fluid motion, of as if he's been doing this for years, his hand reaches over his shoulder to his quiver and brings out another arrow, notches and loosens for a fucking 20 to hit.

Speaker: Let's fucking go. Let's fucking do this. I love this character so much. 11 points of piercing damage. Let's fucking do it. And let's go for the force damage.

Speaker: Three points of force damage. Another three points of force damage. Wonderful. A nice strong couple of quick hits from Kaelin on up high. You kind of hit your arrows, stick in and penetrate the side of this large construct's armor.

Speaker: Anything else you'd like to do? That's all I can do. I'm happy. Awesome. Fantastic. We'll move on to next. Alessio. but Am I hidden?

Speaker: Yes. Cool. That's good. I now have advantage on my tag. Excellent. Mums. Right. So... um I'm going to forego my short bow for this point.

Speaker: and um As he's crouched behind this rock, seeing the creature move down the bridge and take these arrows and perhaps turn its head towards Cailin, these green um blades are going to appear in his hand. And with a quick snap back behind his head and then flinging it forward, he's going to fling a psychic blade towards the creature.

Speaker: Fantastic. Roll to hit. Come on, Psychic. That's a crit, baby. Oh, dear. Oh, shit. Fuck yeah. Another one, the Callum's creature's of these three is ridiculous.

Speaker: That takes 10 points of Psychic damage from the initial attack, followed by... Another 14 points of psychic damage from the sneak attack.

Speaker: ah And then as... ah Yes, that's 24 points of psychic damage. How do you want to do this? ah He's also now vexed, which means I have advantage on my next attack roll against the crete for the end of my next turn.

Speaker: And just in case... He's going to come towards me um because you might know where I am. I'm going to tell use my bonus action to take the hide action again. um Yep.

Speaker: So I'll roll stealth. oh Oh, that's not so good. Oh, oh that's a that's ah that's that's not good. I have technically failed the DC of the um stealth check for it being hidden.

Speaker: Yes, the DC is 15. High-ass DC. um hi as dc Yeah, well, it but basically the point is that anything higher than that is then... Not for a rogue.

Speaker: Yeah. um Yeah, i rolled I rolled a nat 1 and got a 10 out of it. ah It's fine. I am not hidden. That's fine. What's what happens? You rolled a 20 and a nat 1? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Opposite each other? That's mad. 1 in 144 chance, whatever it is.

Speaker: In that case... I am, are the creatures slowed? it going to be able to reach me? I'm going to believe in Caelan and hope that 40 feet is far enough away from this creature with its movement being slowed.

Speaker: Love ah Lee. Thank you very, very much for that. um All four of you are going to notice just as... All this damage has been waylaid into it. Arrows have pierced.

Speaker: Psychic blades have cut parts of this armor. There's going to be a few sparks, and the arrows are going to fall out of this creature, and the holes that they had made start to kind of heal up and get covered by these sparks, almost like they get welded from within. Almost like it sounds like bullshit. Yeah.

Speaker: it has It has a self-repair protocol. Maybe it can only regenerate certain damage. Maybe it's not regenerating the psychic damage. Just saying. Or the or the force damage. But yeah, we'll see. It's all about that force damage.

Speaker: He's going to move forward as much as what he can actually do. And he's going to scan up north towards you, Alessio, just because you were the last one to actually do some damage to it. and going to see if it can determine where it comes from. And it does...

Speaker: basically spy you and it's going to attempt to much in the same way you had and these other creatures like with these mini kind of crossbow bolts ah from the village. This one is going to kind of raise its hand and almost just kind of out of its palm shoots a couple of arrows your way. These ones seem bulkier and stronger and thicker.

Speaker: than what the ones at the other football-style creatures actually had. I'm in cover and try to hide, do i do I get the benefit of cover? You are, at the moment, because you didn't hide, but you head up you probably get half cover.

Speaker: So whatever that adds to your AC. Cool. um I shouldn't be able to hide then, because hide is three-quarters cover. That's fine. um Hang on. Hang on.

Speaker: I'm half covered, you say?

Speaker: Half cover adds a plus so two. That's fine. Plus two to your AC. Okay. So on the first bow or first arrow, it's a seven to hit.

Speaker: Miss. And on the second one is a unnatural 20. Yeah, that hits. Oh, man.

Speaker: As the second arrow hits, you take 11 points of um bludgeoning damage. in this kind of crossbod Is it bludgeoning damage for a crossbow bolt? That... piing Piercing. Thank you. I can't think of the bloody word. people actually fired at me It's probably a fence post of some kind. It's a pole with a big fist on it.

Speaker: um But that is all it can do at the moment. I've got dildos like that. I bet you have many. ah Will, you're up. Woohoo!

Speaker: ah My character will appear once more at the kind of window, peering out, seeing what's going on here. ah And we'll kind of look at this creature again. Can it make a intelligent saving throw, please?

Speaker: ah Yes, it can. I don't think it will like it, but there we go.

Speaker: It got a four. Cool. It fails. So what it would see, and no one else, is this kind of tentacled creature surging out from the water and kind of wrapping its tentacles around and its beak would start kind of biting into it. It is entirely a phantasmal force illusion It is nothing else. So no one else would see this apart from the creature itself.

Speaker: And with it kind of trying to attack, it would take a further 10 points of psychic damage and as this kind of 10 foot squiddy from the water jumps up and and tries bite a bitch.

Speaker: Absolutely. And the the the construct, even though nobody else sees it, it kind of does react a little bit to try and block itself. So you see it raise one of its arms, ah but it does still take, did you say 10 points of psychic damage?

Speaker: It was 10 overall, yeah. 10 points of psychic damage against the creature. Lovely, lovely, lovely. And then ah my character would back away once more from the window out of sight.

Speaker: You've clearly been taking lessons from Alessio, just popping out, attacking, and then hiding. Absolutely. know Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Fantastic. ah Top the round. concentration Does it mean the illusion that was on the door is gone?

Speaker: Oh, yeah. You would see... ah yeah i just for what we see. Yeah, no, no, that's fair. You looking from the other side, absolutely right. You looking from the other side would see the yeah the all the rubble disappear and just the the kind of the front door of this tower intact.

Speaker: Thank you very, very much. So yes, Remy, you see the illusion fade away.

Speaker: Oh, is it my turn? Yes. Sorry, Remy. What would you like to do? What Remy is going to do is he knows this creature has spotted something and he's shooting in that direction. He knows it can't be the contact because they're in the tower. It can't be Caelan because they're up a tree. It has to be Alessio. And as he finishes his drink, he he harnesses his hip flask. He takes up the shield and rapier.

Speaker: And using a bonus action, I'm going to get folly to dash. with be yeah As I travel all 80 feet up to this creature and just go to absolutely spear it with my rapier.

Speaker: Go spear that creature.

Speaker: Spear that creature. Spear that creature. It's a construct.

Speaker: The stabicus is out. I can hear the balls clicking. Hold I'm switching off my spells. We're all holding in on, don't worry. That first one's a 12 to hit. And and it it misses, but you kind of connect to it, but it just doesn't seem to do anything on that particular turn. So yeah, you just knocked back the AC. But for flavor, you just kind of strike at it and maybe get a bad angle, and it just doesn't seem to be able to penetrate its armor.

Speaker: Let's try to hit it again.

Speaker: No, natural one. shit. Natural one. ah Could you roll a d20 for me, Darren? Ah, shit. I absolutely can.

Speaker: A seven. A seven it is only just passable. you are You are perfectly fine still.

Speaker: It's perfectly fine as you can be when you've just charged headfirst into a giant construct and not making any damage. Okay, that's the end of my turn. Wonderful. Caelan, you're a part. Caelan, let's loose an arrow for a 91. Ah!

Speaker: It's his first miss of the miniseries. It's his first miss with a natural one. And that's a bad one. The curse. The curse of the ones. All of us have rolled one.

Speaker: you You see Caelan release arrow. You're so confident. You're so adamant that this is going to be hitting in. It just falls straight into the lake. ah Going for another one.

Speaker: Hopefully not another natural one. Oh, it's not good, though. It's an 11. That's also a miss. There's something in your eye, isn't there? Something in Caelan's eye.

Speaker: Yeah, the wind has blown a blade of grass for vengeance to my eye. I have now seen it for real life of the direction it came. It's it's it's it's all Will Hobbie's fault. like Literally, we're on great until him.

Speaker: Fucking bullshit. we' help you um I don't think you have slow anymore, if that helps. And still start my next step. You don't have slow. You're back to full speed. Enjoy that. Yeah.

Speaker: Ta-ta. I've got Remi just right in front of me. However, ah your ass we have Alessio first. Excellent. Alessio's going to see Remy having charged in, and I'm going to charge in until he sort of runs out of the trees. He knows the creature is still vexed thanks to his attack previously, so he'll able to get advantage on his next attack.

Speaker: And I move my 30 feet to Rennam and sort of runs with my two daggers out, ready to stab a bitch. Go stab a bitch.

Speaker: I will stab a bitch. With advantage, because, you know, why not? and sneak attack.

Speaker: oh Okay, that's first attack. It was an eight. Let's try the advantage.

Speaker: Crit, baby. Second roll. Let's talk about crit, baby. Let's talk about you and me. Let's fuck up Callum's enemies. Okay. Give me some of that nice crit damage. That's another 10 points ah of initial psychic damage, followed by sneak attack crit.

Speaker: Another 19 points of sneak attack damage on top of that. That's a total of 29 points of psychic damage. Do you see? And then Cudermen Combat, I'm going to use its Vex as well. So I've got advantage on my next attack until my next go. um ah Yeah, I'm going to use my advantage. I'm going to use then, as with a bonus action, going to use my second dagger in its back.

Speaker: Backstabber. That's a dirty 20 to hit. That hit. and it takes another five points of psychic damage. Beauty.

Speaker: Couple of nice big hits from Alessio there. However, despite the ah close vicinity of Remy, Alessio is still within punching range of this large construct and his colossal fists.

Speaker: So he's going to go after you, Alessio, for the first attack. ah No, I've done that wrong. My apologies.

Speaker: ah That is a... Do math. 13 to hit. Miss. You are playfully dodging the colossal fist as it comes round. Second one swings over for a 22 to hit.

Speaker: That hits. That does hit.

Speaker: You take seven points of bludgeoning damage ah from the second Colossal Fist that comes round and thwacks you into the side. oh Exactly. And again, um Remy and Alessa, you guys see very, very nice and clearly, but Kaylin, you would also have eye on this.

Speaker: Some of the damage that's been from the previous round as well just starts to weld together. and Interesting. So it's difficult that obviously because mark my attacks leave no mark.

Speaker: so um'm just So am I seeing it get more? Is it is it is it healing from the marks, that the the damage that Kaylin's done? Or do I think it's is it is the damage I'm doing to it whilst not visible physically?

Speaker: Do I think that's getting repaired? Yeah. You would be under a safe assumption of it. While your weapons don't leave any kind of physical marks to it, there is still damage being done that you are very, very aware of.

Speaker: Might just be all internal and you can't see. But I think that's getting repaired, do I? Yes. It would be a safe assumption. I'll permit you that. Thank you. Lovely, lovely.

Speaker: Lady G, you're up. Lady G is not even going to return to the window, but the ah the the phantasmal squiddy is going to maintain its proximity and attacks.

Speaker: um As this hasn't done anything different towards it. So it's five points of psychic damage.

Speaker: And yeah, ah that's me. Okay, that is lovely, lovely. Top of the round. Remy, you're up close. You thought you were going to get a battering, but Alessio, isn't it?

Speaker: fire you fucking And as I say that, the rapier, what's going to happen is the rapier is just the the the elvish inscriptions on the rapier are going to glisten. And I'm going to put a hunter's mark on this myself as I swing through it again.

Speaker: Lovely. Come on, swing. Do some good damage. Bring out that hit before I can do damage. Let's not put that cart before the horse. Oh, that's going to be better. That's a 26 to hit.

Speaker: i I feel I need to say that was one off a crit, ladies and gentlemen, you know, but that definitely hit. It certainly Takes 11 points of piercing damage. Beautiful.

Speaker: I just need to roll some force damage.

Speaker: I've lost Hunter's Mark. There it is.

Speaker: Five points of force damage. Five points of force damage. Lovely, lovely. Vex it, so this attack is with advantage.

Speaker: That's a 23 to hit. That hits.

Speaker: Takes 13 points of piercing damage.

Speaker: Mm-hmm. And it's going to take on top of that... Ooh, six points of force damage. Ooh, very, very nice. couple of big hits from Remy there. And you guys, with your great perception and everything else, you can clearly notice that this thing is being...

Speaker: it destroyed quicker than what it can be repaired. You're making fantastic headway on crushing this large construct. But thank you very much there, ah Remy. Caelan.

Speaker: Let's fucking go. You know what I'm doing. I'm losing an arrow on that son of a bitch for an 18. And that hits. Let's fucking do this this time. Let's go. right, it's 10 points piercing damage.

Speaker: Lovely, lovely. Followed with 1 point of force damage. I think 1.4. You're slowed again. I'm slowed again. Okay. He's going for another hit. 19.

Speaker: That hits. I'm feeling better now. Caelan's feeling like his old self again. Seven points of piercing damage. Beautiful. You got force damage to go on that top of that stuff? I do indeed. Four points of force damage.

Speaker: Ah, me. couple of strong hits. You kind of really connect with the face of this creature in there. And one of its kind of um more delicate ah visual things, an arrow penetrates straight into.

Speaker: Let's fucking go. Clearly looking well at this moment. But thank you very much there, Caelan. Alessio. Alessio. You're up. This thing's looking bad. Yeah, Alessio sort of like spits out some drops drops of blood and then will stab a bitch.

Speaker: Not advantage this time. 13 hit. Ooh, that's a miss. Your psychic blades fail to penetrate.

Speaker: Yeah, that's fine. ah At this point, then, I'm going to use my bonus action to disengage from the take disengage action, and I'm going to move out of range of this creature. Because...

Speaker: Don't want to hit again. I think that's it. I'm going back to my rock. Go back to your rock. You can't hide there yet, can you? No. And ah that is the end of my go.

Speaker: Lovely, lovely. Now, you've not particularly done much damage to it, but Remy has it. Remy is still in very, very close range. So this creature, for everything that got left, is going to kind of turn round slightly. and It has a kind of thing where the top half of its body turns first, and then it's like the lower half follows afterwards. And it's going to attempt to lay a couple of its colossal fists in your direction, Remy.

Speaker: Remy.

Speaker: First one for a... Christ, I am rolling really, really badly. 13 to hit. I go miss, boy.

Speaker: And then... 16 to hit. also go miss, boy. What you thinking about? You on the back of folly just dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge away from these colossal fists.

Speaker: It is the good lady's turn.

Speaker: She is nowhere near the window, but the imaginary squid certainly is. so it's just going to do its thing and roll that squid damage. Eight points of psychic squid.

Speaker: and that Eight points of psychic squid. As again, this colossal kind of construct just reacts to itself. um You guys don't see anything, but clearly gets distracted by something.

Speaker: In this moment, Remy. You're up. Yeah, two quick ducks as this thing goes in my head. And that's a... Turn around, face me properly. You're going to start swinging like that, you big old hunk of metal. And I'm then going to take a another spook of it with my rip here.

Speaker: I don't think that's going to do it. 12. Ooh, that's a miss. You have miss. That's hellfire. Right, I'm going swing again. Kind of odd... step from it causes you to miss ain't no good either i then rolled a 10 that is also a miss almost kind of in a a panic from this construct is this still seeing this like squid coming to bite up at it and attack it it's it's steps seem erratic and you can't predict kind of where it's going to go i'm presuming that's everything you're doing yeah that's all i got okay

Speaker: Caelan, why don't you fire at it a couple of times? No, it ain't. I apologize. I apologize. It ain't all I got because i ain't using my bonus action. So what I'm going to do is Folly's getting mighty annoyed at this and he's going to try and bite this construct with my bonus action. Have Folly go bite, bite.

Speaker: Go bite?

Speaker: Oh, Folly don't better. That 21 to hit. Folly hits. Oh, missed that. Go, Folly Boy. Get in there and buy them nice and deep black. Four points of damage. Four points of damage.

Speaker: Four points of damage. Lovely, lovely, lovely. Fantastique. I've got something Caelan rolling for damage. He's definitely trying to keep this combat thing going here. Lovely. What was your first attack there, Caelan? 21. That hits. What was your damage? Hey, 10 points of piercing damage.

Speaker: Lovely. And three points force damage.

Speaker: Three points of force damage. Yeah. Where do you shoot it? How does it go down? Oh, shit! I shoot it in its fucking eye, son!

Speaker: Because that's how Caelan, during years of hunting with a bow to keep him alive, would shoot his game through the eye to preserve the meat.

Speaker: And as he remembers this haunted past, he uses it to channel into this arrow and lets it loose into the construct's eye because the construct reminds him of a squirrel.

Speaker: I fucking murder it. From this slightly kind of haunting backstory that goes through Tain's mind the moment of release. We're to explore that later. This arrow glides on the wind, flies out from Whisper, penetrates its eye right next to previously hit arrow.

Speaker: And it just it kind of seems to short circuit a little bit. It drops down to its knees.

Speaker: starts to disintegrate away

Speaker: as it gets lower and lower again the eerie calm happens how hard you bite that damn thing i'm just gonna say that goes down because all of i'm too low down to see the arrow hit it in its head so all i've seen is my raptor just take a swipe at it with its teeth fire folly ah how hard you bite that damn thing And as it falls down and starts to disintegrate like the rest of these ah odd creatures, you see three, four, five arrows just kind of fall to the ground directly in front of you.

Speaker: The creature is no more. You were built to endure. It's not enough. And Alessia will psychically communicate to the group.

Speaker: Good shooting, Caelan. What am

Speaker: Thanks. I'll keep a watch of the area. Okay. Alessio, looking a bit bloody and bruised, will walk towards the edge of the bridge and he will cast a look up at the ah sort of the tower and he will shout up to the tower, Billy Jardin, we're here to Find you.

Speaker: I'm presuming there is no response. No, come. Okay. Bitch, you're being serious. That's fine. I will climb down from folly and just go, you stay boy.

Speaker: And I'm just going, you do my fine job. and I'm just going to chuck him stake from the the pouch as well. And I'm going to turn towards the bridge and just come up to Alessio and go, she don't seem too talkative like.

Speaker: No, indeed. Well, let's approach. um And he'll communicate to Caelan saying, we're goingnna we're going to approach. Keep his covered. Let's see what's going on.

Speaker: I'm going to walk towards the doors of the tower. I'll go with. Yeah, Calum, I'm just keeping watch on the area. ah Taking in the wind, any new scents, any smells. he's kiest in a eye He's doing that thing again where his vision doesn't lock onto one target, but it's trying to pick up motion in a soft haze of focus.

Speaker: Fantastic. Caelan's brooding on a mountaintop, but taking in everything. Basically, yes, and trying to come up with cool one-liners. I've noticed.

Speaker: Alessio and Remy, you head towards the front door. The illusion that you first saw when you got here has obviously been just worn away at this stage. It went very near the start of the battle, but the door seems to be in pretty good, pristine almost condition.

Speaker: ah No damage from a constructor that you would, that you can see.

Speaker: I'm going to bang on the door.

Speaker: And you bang loudly. And there is no response. I'm going push the door.

Speaker: Is the door locked, Will? Would you have locked the door? ah No.

Speaker: And the door opens. Okay. And you can see inside.

Speaker: i Go on. You can see inside and it seems to be a bit of a basic setup for a certain degree where you've just got tables, chairs, but there's a certain flair and drama that kind of comes with it. And are you on the ground floor at this stage if there, Will?

Speaker: Um,

Speaker: Yeah, by this point, yes. And as you kind of push open the door, what you would see, ah i suppose what would catch your eyes mainly are ah pools of blood on the floor that are smeared towards the rear wall.

Speaker: um On the rear wall, there is ah kind of a table set up with parchment and odds and ends and... and things like that. there's like ah There's a sarcophagus just kind of standing upright in the corner, but you see kind of recumbent laid down, head pressed up against the wall, shallowly breathing with a clear wound to the stomach.

Speaker: This elderly kind of... ah elderly lady, female human. Her clothes look kind of deep purple and black with gold embroidery down them. It looks, imagine if you will, like Victorian in era, if you like. There's ah there's a handbag with a chain kind of ah around her wrist, which ah her gloves her cuts sorry our hands are coated in these in these black gloves. But the the main thing that you see is kind of

Speaker: Gouts of of blood clearly have spilled from this a woman's midriff and she just seems deathly pale as she's there kind of shallowly breathing against the end wall. Oh my... doesn't be Ma'am, this is a frightful sight. let mean Let me assist you. I'm going to walk over and I'm just going to take a water flask. Before you get too close, the hand kind of just raises slowly to kind of stop you. The other hand kind of wincing as it holds onto its stomach.

Speaker: wait o And she kind of points towards you. My name is Remigius Mammilliam Fiddlebang IV, and ah ah we were sent here to find you, and I promise is that there ain't no trick to this. I'm trying to help you, see? And I'll take a swig of the water, and then I'll... She'll again holler behind. Sent by whom?

Speaker: um not too good with the minor details. so Ah, Alessio, could you... could Could you do your your part? Alessio will step forward and say a simple code phrase that she should be able to respond to.

Speaker: And you see her kind of eyes alight at that. Oh, good. Good. And her eyes will close.

Speaker: Remy, help her, and Alessio will contact Cailin and say, manam if we found her. Ma'am, if you would just take a drink of this, it would soothe you somewhat. I promise.

Speaker: And as you kind of crouch down to pour that to her lips, you just hear it splattering on the floor.

Speaker: She's...

Speaker: Okay, I'll try this another way. I'd like to take the study action and see whether it's an illusion.

Speaker: Fair enough.

Speaker: You're rolling for investigation then, aren't you? To try and deter decipher what you're seeing is an illusion. That is correct. Having seen the water splash as Remu was there, ah that's a 14 with a passive.

Speaker: Nope. Okay. Can't tell anything. I'm going to take this cloth and and and try and just gently rest it on like an arm. or but It just goes straight through. What the?

Speaker: Alysio, I am of manner I've been monarchs. Why are they... What is going on here? You kind of, as you say that, you look up and just stepping out of the sarcophagus without an opening, just through it. ah Clearly another illusion. You see the same woman, exactly the same, but ah hair kind of with with white streaks going through it, tied up behind her back, little bit disheveled.

Speaker: ah She just kind of steps out of the sarcophagus and just goes, That is exactly how you could have found me, were you any later?

Speaker: And the illusion of her of her corpse disappears on the board on the floor. Oh, fucking course.

Speaker: um I'm sorry. i was i was only trying to to patch you up because I thought there was something wrong. It's it's just a healing water, see? And instead, seeing Alessio took a couple of whacks from that construct, I'm going to give it to Alessio instead.

Speaker: Thanks, babe.

Speaker: Well, we're here now, and thankfully you're not. We came as quickly as we could. Had a few other creatures to deal with on the road. But we're here now. Give yourself testing points of healing, Will.

Speaker: Thanks.

Speaker: I fully appreciate your help with the beastie outside. I assume it has been dealt with fully. Yeah, it's dead. It's what we do.

Speaker: It's what you do. Oh, look at you all sprightly, it seems. And how many of you are there? I saw but three from the window.

Speaker: Just us three? That's all the watch needed? Right. Four if you count on the raptor.

Speaker: The raptor. How very droll. And were you from the village? Is that safe? Has it been saved? Are there any more of these constructs about?

Speaker: The village is safe. The village has been secured.

Speaker: We came to find you. Ah, good. Good. hu and She kind of straightens up a little bit and you see her kind of adjusting her hair somewhat.

Speaker: Now, I suppose we should all enter my domain. Please make yourself welcome. Where is the third...

Speaker: The third? You said you had three. I see but two. i assume the raptor has been left outside as it should remain. Yes, the raptor is outside. It will remain. Alessia messages Cailin telepathically suddenly.

Speaker: Cailin, come and join us. She's delightful. um Surely i should stay outside and keep watch.

Speaker: If she was followed once, there's nothing to say she won't be followed again. am i really needed? i would also say telepathically, Fali will keep an eye on the perimeter as best he can. He's got a good nose. ah Frankly, Caleb, I'm more worried about us in here than what could happen out there. This is a mad strange woman.

Speaker: I'll be on my way. again So what you've just had is these two people go mute in front of you. Speak up. Why are you staring at each other, raising eyebrows? It's very... Cailin would have stayed... Alessia would have kept looking at you. Are you staring at me? Respond, boy, respond! And she clicks her finger at you.

Speaker: Our other companion is joining us. He wanted to stay outside just in case you were being followed again. but Perhaps us all meeting so you can give us the information and we can then proceed with this mission would be good.

Speaker: We would appreciate being able to rest here, though. It has been a long, gruelling few hours. It's very presumptuous. Rest here. Very well, very well.

Speaker: dusts off her her dress and you see her make her way around various things within the room, various trinkets, various trophies even. And when I say trophies, I don't mean kind of like hunting trophies. I mean literal trophies that look like kind of accolades of of excellence for various different ah things. um But she ah simply states that The sleeping quarters are upstairs, but usually I like to know my guests before I invite them for a slumber.

Speaker: Not very talkative, are you? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I'm just a little bit surprised. I'm just going to stab her in a stick. Just going to do it right I told you my name, I'm Prishter 4th I did I'm Remedius Montmilliam Fizzlebang 4th Outside is my raptor Folly Fizzlebang the 10th Right I see ill be honest, not familiar with your first name The raptor, I seem to know more And yourself? And she points at you, Will Alessio gives a a little a little bow Alessio DiMaggio

Speaker: oo A good name, short clipped, and an excellent bow, I might say. o And your companion, do o you say he's on his way? he

Speaker: i prefer to do introductions of myself, but once. But once is all you need, for of course you have heard of me. Regardless, you came to seek me. Where is this third? How far am I, Callum?

Speaker: These introductions have probably been going off a few minutes now. you i I think you're probably just in time, if you wanted to, do for a dramatic entrance through the doors. An Aragorn door push. Or you want to just open it slightly, then that's your choice. But you're probably just outside the door at this moment. I i would ah roll a stealth check. I'd be trying to nip in ah silently to an open window or a crack in the door. Is the door still left open? I would just like to appear without appearing.

Speaker: Okay, roll a stealth check then against everybody else's... Yeah, fuck it. Let's go for it, guys. Let's have some fun. I rolled for shit. 14. It beats my passive.

Speaker: Would you like to roll a perception anyway if you are looking? could I think you would be actively looking for it because you're like going, where is he? Where's your third one? This is very true. Actively, I'll take that active perception check with a plus zero. Let's go, baby. It's a three.

Speaker: Ha ha. so i wrote I rolled a 27. my man knows My man knows that all time. no That makes sense. Remy? but um I'm just too mortified by what I'm seeing in this room. I'm too confounded to be to be to be making any check of that nature.

Speaker: Fair enough. So Revy's a little bit distracted and unless you you see Caelan just kind of sneaking, slithering through this slight crack in the door from it being left open.

Speaker: Caelan, as you're going in and the good lady's distracted, where do you go in the room? Where would you like to go? So, Caelan trusts his his team and so knows that they would have swept the area. So, Caelan again goes back to looking through a window. So, his back is turned on the group. He's looking at the direction of where the bridge goes because that's our only means to get out.

Speaker: So you've kind of snuck in and tucked yourself into the corner, watching out through the window. yeah And, Will, the Lady G is currently asking, where's your third? Where's your third? And then just after the corner of your eye...

Speaker: To wreck on some of that, I would have grabbed the fallen arrows on the ground as I made my way back through. i Yeah, no problem. You could put those back into your ah quiver. But yes, that's exactly right.

Speaker: Just as you are like going, where's your third one? Where's your third one? You're looking around as a quick glance and then just out of the corner. of yeah Almost like he'd been there all the time. he He almost seemed settled into the corner. Somebody peering outside the window.

Speaker: Oh, very clever indeed. So, I suppose introductions are in order.

Speaker: My name is Lady Lobilia Valvaris Gardan. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Speaker: Pleasure indeed. I said it is a pleasure to make you... Is there a delay between from whence I speak and whence you hear? What is wrong? My companions and I are quite often of a few words. We prefer to action and... We spend a lot of time in the outdoors and don't do much socialising.

Speaker: Apologies. When was the last time you bathed? He looks cross at Canem and smells himself and goes, my but but I give it a week.

Speaker: Yeah, we found a river. yeah We found a river the other week. Yes, yeah. Two two weeks as he sniffs himself. Oh, heavens. I see. Well, perhaps sanitation is in order for you all here.

Speaker: i have no spare clothes or costumes in your sizes, gentlemen, I must say. However, I believe you could... Probably use various washing facilities. The moat outside is very clean.

Speaker: i do get fresh rainwater and there's a little runoff also, and therefore perhaps a good scrub wouldn't go too amiss with yourselves. I see. um Has anyone seen Duchess Penelope? She's usually around here somewhere. Is she the tabaxi that was in the village?

Speaker: See, within the village. Goodness me, slow to speak and slow of mind you are indeed. No, Duchess Penelope.

Speaker: ah And you see flying down from one of the top corners of the room, this multicolored kind of teal cat with wings with these kind of ah red tipped feathers to the top and this red mohawk.

Speaker: ah It is a for anyone that would would know, basically like ah like a mini sphinx um that comes to rest with her.

Speaker: Ah, good. The Duchess approves of your appearance here, I suppose, and I must say thank you for coming to my aid. Obviously, I know I summoned you here and took the bigger one away from the village and raised the little flag atop my abode, but not many people would stumble across it, I suppose.

Speaker: Your friends in the village gave us the direction of where you would be. So that helped. Good. I'm glad. I'm pleased. and Unless you're taking his pack off and he's setting it down.

Speaker: So um while we rest, I suppose you can then fill us in on the details of our mission. I suppose I could.

Speaker: I suppose I could. Yes. But we will save that for next week. That wasn't very good.

Speaker: dearie, dearie. But yes, welcome to the campaign, Will. You finally get to do something. Hooray. Glad to have you on board, mate. Can I wrap this up with something poetic?

Speaker: We are nothing. ah so Goodbye, guys. Goodbye.
