Introduction and Technological Apology

00:00:00
Speaker
Hi everyone, Bianca here. Before the episode starts, I just wanted to pop on here really quickly and let you all know that during recording, we had a few technical difficulties. So the beginning of this podcast, the audio is not at the level we normally like it to be, and we just wanted to apologize. The audio does improve around the 30 minute mark, and I will put that timestamp for you all in the show notes below.
00:00:25
Speaker
But we just wanted to let you know if you are a new listener, it doesn't normally sound this way. And we apologize to all of you returning listeners as well because we love you and we always want the show to be an enjoyable listening experience, but it's about to happen eventually. So with that, I will get the episode started, but we hope that you enjoy it nonetheless. Thank you guys so much. We love you.

Episode Introduction and Hosts

00:00:51
Speaker
Hello, hello and welcome to Art Pop Talk. I'm Bianca.
00:00:55
Speaker
And I'm Gianna. Well, in this week's episode, we are trying something new to celebrate the last week of the worst month of the year. We're going to play a little trivia with a special guest. That is right. I have brought on boy of ABT Andrew James to talk with us about Spider-Man Twilight and those 2000s of mems that we can't seem to get over.
00:01:24
Speaker
Hey, hey, how's it going? Hello. Hi. January is almost over. Praise be- Thank God.

Weather Woes and February Plans

00:01:32
Speaker
My skin, my hair, everything about like our apartment, the air, it's just so dry. And I feel like that just fits the theme of January, like dry January. I know that's like not, you know, that's more alcohol related, but every time I just like
00:01:49
Speaker
get into my coat, get in and out of my coat. It's all staticky. I'm just like uncomfortable being in January, and I'm ready for it to be done. Yeah, I know how you feel about static. I feel like it's because you have so much hair. Like I feel like I handle static better now that my hair is shorter doesn't annoy me as much. I don't know. That's my hot take on static.
00:02:17
Speaker
Yeah, I was like explaining that to Andrew the other day because he shocked me. He like was being so sweet and he like touched my forehead like we were like eating snacks or something. And it hurt like it was like electric. I mean, so we had we had to have a discussion about like the dryness in our apartment. I was like, I'm just I'm all over just dry.

Trivia Game Concept

00:02:41
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, can't get enough of moisture over here in Boston.
00:02:46
Speaker
One of the things that I find I can easily entertain myself with is if you have like a nice fleece blanket and it's like cold and it's dark in your living room or in your house, you can like run your fingers across it and you can see the little like static light. I love that. I'm like, wow, science. Wow, what a riveting intro this is.
00:03:13
Speaker
You know, our intro is as dry as the month of January. It's because truly nothing has happened because it's January. I'm looking forward to February. I do have some hot plans in the month of February going to see Casey Musgraves first weekend of February. For Valentine's Day, Andrew and I are going to Vermont for taking like a little
00:03:40
Speaker
for my decabin trip. And then at the end of January is Dr. Elizabeth Green's birthday or I mean end of February. So I feel like February is just, you know, I'm excited. The one thing I will say is we have surpassed the shortest day of the year. So the good thing about coming out of February, God damn, the good thing about coming out of January,
00:04:07
Speaker
going into February is also the days are getting long. Just everything is better going out of January. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Let there be light. Yeah. Let there be light. There is a light. If you're a Kacey Musgraves fan, song on our album. Ah, yes. There is a light. I'm not Kacey Musgraves, so
00:04:32
Speaker
All right, Gianna, so enough of this really horrific dry introduction.

2000s Nostalgia and Twilight Marathon

00:04:37
Speaker
Do you wanna talk about what we're doing for this episode today since we don't have any art news? Yes, absolutely. So we are so excited for today's episode and we're hoping that today might be the first of many episodes to come just like this. So we are actually going to play a trivia game and we are gonna bring on Boy of ABT
00:04:59
Speaker
Andrew James, but our questions will be more so catered towards what we actually talked about in the month of January. So it'll kind of serve as a little recap, a little refresher. This also might be something that Bianca and I want to keep doing, because let's face it, we all fill your brains with a lot of content on the weekly. And so it might be nice once a month to give you guys a little refresher. So if you guys do like it, just keep in mind that
00:05:27
Speaker
all the feedback is welcome. But also, speaking of feedback, is playing more games on APT is something that you guys have told us that you wanted. So hopefully you guys like it and are excited. Ask and you shall receive, you know, if there's anything you ever want from APT, I'm pretty sure that's you. I am like, so desperate to keep you like, please don't leave me.
00:05:57
Speaker
I love it. Please don't leave me. Please don't leave me. Why do you want to leave me? Alright, so if we are ready, we will take a little pause. I will bring in Boy of ABT, don't go anywhere. I'm gonna go get him and we'll get into a little bit of trivia.
00:06:28
Speaker
all right hello everybody and welcome andrew andrew how you doing oh you know just fine here in boston with the dry air the dry air the dryness it's crippling my hair my skin and clearly your soul it is not a great environment but overall doing well
00:06:57
Speaker
Good, good. One thing that we have been doing the past few days, which will lead us into our first bank of trivia is coincidentally, you know, last week, Joan and I were talking about all these 2000s of memories, a sense of nostalgia, this relation to images of a past life. And this past week, I just need to read the text message that Andrew sent me because it was
00:07:27
Speaker
is pretty perfect. Okay, I get a text from Andrew that says, Can we do a Twilight marathon this week or weekend? I think I'm ready. And I honestly, it was out of a whim. I was thinking about what ways can I spend my time this weekend doing something that is decompressing, also mindless, but also new. And the Twilight series is that so Andrew.

Twilight Trivia with Andrew

00:07:56
Speaker
Yeah, Andrew has
00:07:57
Speaker
No context. Never read one of the Twilight books. I read four chapters of the first Twilight book. Never seen any of the movies. I haven't seen any of the movies on my own collision. No. So like I've seen bits and pieces. But you haven't watched them all.
00:08:16
Speaker
even the first one, that bits and pieces of team, not nearly enough to understand everything. Right. So where did you guys end? Like how far into the saga are you? So yesterday, in one day, we watched the first three movies. So Jenna, we can't talk about breaking down parts one or two. No, no, we're gonna wait until you watch. Is Bella gonna marry or what? No, I'll tell you. So she doesn't get married?
00:08:43
Speaker
So yesterday on my Instagram, in case anyone was following the saga on my stories, I was documenting everything that Andrew was just saying a lot over the course of watching the first three movies. And I'll put some highlights, I have all of them saved, but I'll put some highlights on APT. And honestly, they were, they were so funny.
00:09:08
Speaker
And it's just funny watching you watch the movies or watching someone who has no sense of nostalgia for these movies, because that's something really hard to explain to someone why I will watch Twilight, you know, once a year for the rest of my life. But it's like, it's hard for someone new to jump into.
00:09:30
Speaker
Yes, yeah, it's like when over Halloween when I got thieving to watch Rocky Horror and when I tell you that it took me like three hours to watch the movie with him because we had to pause it so much for me to explain what was happening. Andrew, throughout the movie, like he loves to just like whenever he wants to pause and ask something, he looks at me and goes,
00:09:53
Speaker
Question for you. It's just so cute. Every time you want to ask a question, it's so cute because you like, you like think about it for a second and then you look at me. Question for you. Is her daughter her mom? Just like question for you. Bella is her name, right? It's so funny. So thinking about all of these
00:10:20
Speaker
visuals that Gianna and I and I feel like every other person on the face of the planet who grew up in our age range except for you clearly. Well this was a big trend when I was in middle school. I know but not it was such a big trend. How did you exclude yourself from it? That's amazing. That's a real feat. Most likely a lot of the ladies in junior high and high school were reading these books
00:10:48
Speaker
I mean, it was interesting to say, you know, I don't think there were many boys my age that were reading that. Oh, it was like teenage smut. Like, let's be real, like, it is smut. Yeah, that's exactly what it is asking. Do they say sex in the book? Like boys are reading Diary of a Winkey Kid and like Spider with Chronicles. And we're not getting like this, like erotica. If
00:11:17
Speaker
middle school and high school boys were reading this, I would be concerned. So in honor of your journey that you're starting as a 24 year old man entering twilight, almost 25. Oh no. We wanted to ask you a little trivia question. And the questions we asked, I feel like. Well, I know. Well, I try to take the most basic trivia questions.
00:11:45
Speaker
Like, what is Forks? Well, we'll get there. So are you ready? I will be cautiously optimistic with this experiment. Same. Because I was writing him, I was like, I'm just not sure that he knows because it's not something he was ingrained and obsessed with. Like, probably we were and a lot of the listeners are. I think I know most of the characters' names. And their eye colors.
00:12:15
Speaker
So we had a big discussion on eye colors too. They're eye colors? Yeah, I'll read one of the quotes from last night. Question for you. So black eyes are, they're hungry. Are yellow eyes, they're like middle fed and red eyes are like, they're very fed. Like he didn't know the difference that red eyes were the
00:12:44
Speaker
vampires who drink human blood versus the animal blood. I think I was pretty close with my analysis though. Okay. I mean, that's not the case,

Vampire Biology and Eye Colors

00:12:53
Speaker
but. Well, think about it. They're middle fed because they're never fully satisfied without human blood. So I think I'm pretty close. And then the red eyes are like, they, they definitely have fed. They, they went hunting, as they call it in the movie. Andrew calls it feeding.
00:13:14
Speaker
All right. Let's go for this trivia. We're going to go for it. I think we have like 10 to 15 questions for you. Oh, boy. OK. I think you're going to do great. So we're going to just lobby you a nice softball question here to start out with. So who is the author of the Twilight books? It's an S name. Is it Sue? Nope. You're getting colder. Oh, gee. Sharon.
00:13:47
Speaker
No guests. No. I mean, I think I've struck out. I did at least three guests. It's Stephanie Meyers. Stephanie Meyers. Yes, I did know that but. But you did that. I heard that name before and I know that she branched eyes but could not tell you for the light to me who it was. Okay. Speaking of said author.
00:14:18
Speaker
Miss Stephanie Meyer appears in one of the movies in a very particular scene. Can you describe what scene the author presents herself in? Is it the first book? Yes, it's in the first movie. Okay, I'm thinking it's at the diner. Yes, good job! She's not the waitress, she is a customer sitting at the counter. Okay, all right, that makes sense. That's the only one where you have
00:14:43
Speaker
Like a potential for a cameo. Good job, good analysis. Visual analysis shows. That diner scene is something that I feel like is very important to Bianca and I because there's so much to make fun of in that scene. She's like shaking it with this limp hand.
00:15:07
Speaker
What are you doing? I was like, the guy, you remember me, Bella? And then her father's like, yeah, she was three or four when she first met you. He's like, hey, it's hard to forget a face. I'm like, yo. Yeah, but that's the thing to talk about when a girl comes back into town for cognitive development. I suppose the girl comes back in the forks. All right, well, I want to go back to the books. So can you describe what the cover of all four of the books look like? Hmm. Oh.
00:15:37
Speaker
All right, so the first book is the hand palms with the apple, right? Why is there an apple? You got to answer a question. Well, we didn't even see apple symbolism in the movie. That's false. Just watch. Okay, so the apple is the first book. New Moon, is that a rose? Close. I think there's a rose or a flower. It's a flower. Good job. Yeah, New Moon is a flower.
00:16:06
Speaker
Is Eclipse like is there an hourglass or something? No, no, that's I think there is an hourglass like motif in is it the short life of Bre Tanner? I think there might be an hourglass in that one. Oh, interesting. Okay, close that up. I couldn't tell you Eclipse or breaking dawn. What's breaking dawn? Is Eclipse? Is it a moon? No, no.
00:16:33
Speaker
Yeah, I couldn't tell you. No? No. Okay. So eclipse is a ribbon. It's like a red ribbon that's like splitting in the middle. And then breaking dawn is a chess piece. Like it's like a little chess board. There is an hourglass in the short life of Bre Tanner. So you got that one.
00:16:56
Speaker
It's like an accompaniment. You know the girl, the little girl who, um, the Cullens wanted to save in the third movie we just watched? There's like a little accompaniment. Yeah, that's how you kill vampires. Okay. And you're so ashy.

Twilight Symbolism Analysis

00:17:14
Speaker
Yeah, that was another complaint that Andrew had is like Dan Vampers. They like crystallize.
00:17:21
Speaker
That's how we feel in the month of January, though. They're dry. Dry and crystallized. If you're trying to rip us apart, we're going to be like the Cullens and just like become crystallized. The way that their bodies, like the the articism behind how like killing a vampire works throughout the movies like changes. And like later on, they just like snap in half like an ice cube. And I truthfully feel like that's what my fingers feel like.
00:17:52
Speaker
in the eclipse they did that with Victoria. So her head just snaps off. I'm like, okay, these people are porcelain. Okay, so speaking of our next question, is there is a memento to the first book's cover art in the first movie? And I was wondering if you could describe that scene.
00:18:18
Speaker
so the first books cover art so it would be apple yeah there's a memento in a movie i i don't know is it in the cafeteria the lunch room yes it is apples yeah okay who shares apples
00:18:41
Speaker
It's when Bella is getting her little sod at the salad bar and then Edward comes up to her and is like, it'll blart. And then she knocks over the apple and it like, they had, they did this scene for real. And then it rolls up his leg and, and Rob Pattinson like catches it in his cold pale hands.
00:19:01
Speaker
I was actually surprised you didn't catch that last night. I thought you were going to ask something about it yesterday. No, I didn't catch that. I wasn't realizing. But that makes sense. But that's the only reason. Iconic. Iconic visual. Is that an apple on the cover? Well, the book came before the movie. Yeah, but does the book go into more detail about the apple? Not really. I don't think. Oh, geez. Oh, geez. Oh, no.
00:19:27
Speaker
I think it's more of this idea of like Bella's apple. Like she's like fragile little piece of disintegrating fruit, like fruit disintegrates. If we've talked about this before in our episode on the history of art, you know, like fruit is something that will die, you know. Yeah. And then Edward wants to take a big shot. You know, there's a lot of symbolism with the apple actually.

Cullen Family Actor Challenge

00:19:53
Speaker
Yeah, you see it now. I like wasted my time one day watching these like outtakes about how they film the scene in the cafeteria where Edward Robert Pattinson like catches the apple and something with like a like a fishing line or like a fishing hook and and then he they had to have it like perfectly placed in his hands and they had to do it like a million times.
00:20:18
Speaker
And, you know, one day I just wasted my day watching that. So the more you know. Mm hmm. No, I've definitely done the same. All right. Well, should we move on? Next question. OK, so, Andrew, what are the names of the actors who make up the members of the Cullen family? I don't even know this. So this is this is a hard one that Bianca asked. Really? I don't know all of them. I don't think it's hard. I'm like, I used to be like, I'm so sorry.
00:20:47
Speaker
I really don't know. I know that we have Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen. And then I don't know, is it Emmett? I don't know Emmett, the actor for Emmett. Is it Rosalina? Rosalie. Rosalie. I couldn't tell you that actor.
00:21:11
Speaker
Do you know any of them? Are you just gonna listen to your character name and say I don't know? Alice, I feel like if you told me like the first name or the last name... I feel like if you told me what her name was, I would know who it is. Well no, it's like as if you know you're talking about an actor and you get
00:21:35
Speaker
the first name of the act. Okay, last name is green. Ashley.

Volturi and La Push Quiz

00:21:40
Speaker
Ashley. Okay, let's do let's do Rosalie. Rosalie's last name is Reed. Haley. I don't know.
00:22:05
Speaker
Nikki Reed. Oh, okay. Don't know. What are the parents' names? So we have Peter Fossolini. So Emmett is played by Kellen Lutz. Esme.
00:22:19
Speaker
Bianca has an Elizabeth Reeser. She is a pretty important character in Grey's Anatomy because she basically is a character who gets hospitalized and like her face becomes disfigured. And so they do a whole like facial reconstruction thing. And she, it gets in a romantic relationship with them. What's his face?
00:22:45
Speaker
I don't remember who she gets involved with. I will say the mom, that actress, was the most familiar. Yeah, I think she's also in Mad Men. I think I remember her from being like a character in Mad Men owns the freezer. Okay, so next question. Can you name the three lead members of the Volturi, not the actors who play them? Just what are their names? Not at all. They said it like a lot in the movies. They said the Volturi. That's all they said. They wrote the Volturi.
00:23:15
Speaker
You can't even name one? You can't name one? Not even the main one. That is definitely not a defining characteristic to single out any one vampire in the Twilight saga.
00:23:42
Speaker
Uh-huh. And then the other one is very young compared to the three. Looks very young, and it looks like a Legolas. Kind of. But I don't know their names. We have R.O. He's the one that can, he touches your hand and you, he can read. You get Ashley? No, he can read a Felix. So the three lead members of the Volturi. Arrow is the one who can touch your hand and read every thought that you've ever had. Which one is that?
00:24:12
Speaker
The lead, the middle guy, the middle guy. And so then the old one is Marcus. And then the Legolas is Caius. Okay. So what is the name of the beach where Jacob first tells Bella about the cold ones?
00:24:32
Speaker
I picked literally the easiest questions I could think of. Because they say it like 20 times. Forks Beach is your answer. It's La Push. When did I say that? I am shook.
00:25:01
Speaker
They sing it so many times. Like we're going to La Push and then Eric is like, La Push, you know, he like makes that joke when they're on the

Twilight's Cultural Impact

00:25:09
Speaker
cafeteria. Noah, where have you been, Loco? No! Oh my god, you messed it up. I'm scared you didn't get that right. It's Loco, right? They're not even talking about La Push whenever he says that. I know, but the L's, La Push, Loco. I should have made the connection.
00:25:29
Speaker
You gotta get this one. I hope I can. What is the name of the tribe Jacob is a part of? I wish the audience could see my face. So it's with a Q. That's not helpful. Um, I couldn't tell you. I'm sorry. The Quileute tribe. The Quileutes. Okay.
00:25:50
Speaker
The more you know, wow. She types it out on Google, you see her googling it. You only see her googling like vampires and werewolves. No, Quillute Legends, she googles it on her computer. Well, doesn't she get the book and then she starts googling? No, she googles Quillute Legends and then she finds that bookstore online and then that part of the store. Yeah.
00:26:15
Speaker
All right. I feel so bad. You can get the correct one. Yeah, we only have two questions left. So now's redemption time. Okay. Name this year Hannah Montana, the movie hits theaters. Glee aired their first episode. Kanye West interrupts Taylor Swift at the VMAs and Jacob and Isabella are the top baby names of the year. It sounds like 2011.
00:26:44
Speaker
It's close. Is it 2010? Nope. Darn it. Now it's 2012 then. No. It's not. 2009. It's that early? No way. 2009, only a year after the first movie came out, Jacob and Isabella are the top names. I'm dead serious. What? I know. Okay, so this was multi-generational. Oh yeah.
00:27:14
Speaker
just material that people were really absorbing. Yeah. So all these... Like people who were fresh having babies. Yeah. And New Moon came out in 2009. New Moon came out in the same year. I should have known that. I feel really... Okay. I'm going to ask you this. What was the year the first book was published? Okay. Can I ask a follow-up question to that? Was it after 2005? No. It was earlier.
00:27:44
Speaker
Go. Was it during or after 2005? I'm going to say 2005. It was 2005. Good job. Because I did some deductive reasoning. Thank you. Which is really crazy. When did the first movie come out? 2008. Just two years later. Yeah, but that's very impressive.
00:28:14
Speaker
Yeah, the magnitude the books had. Yeah, that

Pop Culture Trivia with Andrew

00:28:19
Speaker
is. Thank you for playing a little Twilight Trivia. We are going to ask you some more EPT superhero related questions because we want to give you a chance to redeem yourself. I feel really exposed and just put on spot because I am so happy to be, you know, the entertainment of the week. We drastically filling these questions.
00:28:41
Speaker
It's just so, it's just interesting. I think the thing that I'm harping on is just the fact that all of the, like we talked about last week in our 2000s kind of episode, like all of these things are still just ingrained into my memory. Like I remember reading all this stuff about the books. If you were asking me questions about books and I remember how I felt when I watched the movies and remember this scene from the books. Like I just, it's so clear in my head and it's just so funny that you haven't been like phased by all of that.
00:29:11
Speaker
to kind of highlight what you were saying in last week's episode, it's so interesting how we are so attached to certain visual stimulation and things that really contextualize like a lot of your, your development and your learning and what you kind of, you know, really anchored on or were very into at a certain time when you were growing up. Because for me, for my lifetime, it's been superheroes, you know, so like when I watch
00:29:42
Speaker
the shows and movies, it's just so funny, because I could tell you all their names. I could tell you even the voice actors in some of the cartoons, which is something where, obviously, for you and Gianna, Twilight is that type of material for you, interestingly enough. Oh, it's funny. So I think we're going to take a little break, and then whenever we come back, we're going to ask you more questions, but I think there'll be up your alley. OK. OK, we'll be right back.

2000s Music Nostalgia

00:30:41
Speaker
All right, everybody, welcome back. So now that we are done with the random Twilight saga trivia, we are going to ask Andrew questions dedicated to January of APT. This month, we talked early 2000s, we talked Spider-Man and image rights, and we also welcome the new year with Drunk Art History. So, Andrew, are you ready for part two? I sure hope so. I hope it goes better than part one.
00:31:08
Speaker
Okay, so question number one, I almost caught you cheating trying to find the answers. Oh, no. Who are the three actresses that played Mary Jane in the Spider-Man movies? In the Spider-Man movies? In any Spider-Man movie, who are the three actresses who have played Mary Jane? Kristin Dunce, right? Why are you asking me? Zendaya. And is there a
00:31:38
Speaker
Third MJ in The Amazing Spider-Man? In any Spider-Man movie? Well, there's no Mary Jane in The Amazing Spider-Man. Are you thinking of the 1977 Spider-Man when Nicholas Hammond? Is it Into the Spider-Verse? Could be. Ah, I don't know that actress. I don't know who voiced her.
00:32:06
Speaker
So wait, Kravitz. Oh, okay. Played MJ and Into the Spider-Verse. I didn't know that either. I was like three. What are you talking about? That's a good one. That's a good trivia question. Yeah. Nice. Darn. All right, so two out of three. So I'm 66.6% repeating. Wow, did I just, I knew that question. You knew that probably because you looked it up or what? No, I knew that question, or that's why I typed the question. IMDb?
00:32:35
Speaker
Huh? No. When you watched Into the Spider-Verse, when did you watch it for the first time? Like recently, but I knew that's what Kravis was. Even before that. Yeah. Wow. I'm impressed. Okay, so next question. It's 2023. You guys are dancing at my wedding. And I put this song on the wedding playlist. Who is this? And what is your reaction?
00:33:24
Speaker
You know, you definitely know what it is. I do, I do. I'm trying to think of... Oh my goodness. I can keep going. How do I know more about football than you? You probably do when it comes to celebrities who date football players.
00:33:44
Speaker
They're married. They have a family. She's a rapper. What is her name? Why can't I think of it? Why is it I'm drawing a blank? Gianna. Andrew James. So sorry. This is Sierra. Sierra.
00:34:02
Speaker
Yes! Oh my gosh! I know! My goodies? I need to have some caffeine or... No, you gotta listen to more Y2K. Y2K? Okay, maybe. Oh no. Oh boy. I love Sierra. I know!

She has really cool outfits like the awards ceremonies. I know. I know. Darn. I'm so sorry, Gianna. We will dance to it, no doubt. Okay. Well, I expect you to be prepped and ready by then. I'll have the whole routine, Sarah. I'll have to like, I'll like forge you the playlist like before the wedding so you can like get on top of it because all it is, it's just jams. So I'm going to be really disappointed if you don't know them.
00:34:51
Speaker
I'm ready. I'm there for it. Okay, so I have a very important question. This is the most important question. So you better get this one right. Oh, I really hope I will. Is Gwen Stacy now alive? And I will only accept one answer. Is Gwen Stacy now alive? Referring to which
00:35:21
Speaker
movie franchise and which... No, is she alive? Is she alive now? Is Gwen Stacy right now alive? Let's see, we just got out of the newest Spider-Man movie. Gwen Stacy's dead. No, she's not. False.
00:35:43
Speaker
Why is she not? If you listen to our Spiderman episode, I feel so strongly about that. No, when Stacy's dead, I'm so sorry. Then all of that was for fucking nothing. And now I just hate Tom Holland even more than I do now. All of the villains get sent home to live out their fate.
00:36:06
Speaker
within whatever time. They're not changed, no. All of it's for, yeah, we just had to send them back. We could try and send them back better, but we'll see. I think most of them probably died. There's no point in anything. I want to be done. I really don't have words. I don't have words. Did you listen to our Spider Man episode? I did. It sounds like you didn't.
00:36:35
Speaker
Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. This one's funny. Speaking of Y2K music, can you name any of the songs from the Twilight soundtrack? We just talked about this when we were watching movies yesterday and I said, do you know the song? Do you know the song? Do you know the song? I know. Is it super massive?
00:37:05
Speaker
That's Muse. No, it's, I mean, you're close. Supermassive black hole. Supermassive black hole. That's Muse. I know the artist. I could not tell you some of the names. I know Bonavir and St. Vincent have a song in New Moon that I really like. And I don't even know the name of it. Evervescence. Evervescence. What is it?
00:37:30
Speaker
Evanescence, right? Yeah, something like that. That's not a song, Angie. That's not an effort. No. Who sings that? There's more muse. There's more muse later on. There's a Radiohead song in the credits of Twilight. Of course there is.
00:37:57
Speaker
Do you know the song when they're going to prom? Remember I asked you and I was like, do you know the song? Um, you said you really liked the song. Oh, um,
00:38:10
Speaker
Robert Pattinson has his own song. He does have a song, you know what it is? I don't know the name of it. It's Let Me Sign is the song that Robert Pattinson. That's the radio. That's a 15 step. No, that's 15 step. That's a radio ad song. Oh, damn it. Yeah, I could tell you some of the artists, but I couldn't tell you. Flightless Bird, American Mouth by Iron and Wine. That is the prom song. Of course, they have an Iron and Wine song.
00:38:38
Speaker
Yeah, you probably didn't even know that until I just quoted you. Yeah. I didn't know that until you told me.

Y2K Music Reflections

00:38:45
Speaker
So, no, I couldn't tell you. Well, I told you one. I told you one. Okay, you said part of it. Oh, wait, Bianca, the Robert Pattinson one is the other one where he can't understand any of the words. It's like all around. I will wrap my arms around who that was.
00:39:08
Speaker
The only reason I might have some of the words is because I used to watch the lyric video on YouTube. The song plays when she's dying and her life lashes before her eyes.
00:39:35
Speaker
Oh my god. All right, moving on. So on the little music track that we're on, what is the name of the song and the band who lived rent free and Bianca's mind
00:39:55
Speaker
where she couldn't rest until she found the source. Basically, what started our whole Y2K episode? You were with me and Gianna on the phone. I was with you, and I was seeing you have the epiphany, and I couldn't tell you the group's name, but... Can you sing a little bit of a song? No, I couldn't even tell you the song. But if I told you...
00:40:21
Speaker
but if you told me the name, I'd be like, yep, that's it, that's it, exactly. All right, I just want everybody who listens to the podcast to know, you know, as soon as like you hear a name, you're like, oh, right, that's it, that's everything I'm experiencing right now.

Spider-Man Lamp and Design Nostalgia

00:40:38
Speaker
So for anybody listening, I just, please have some sympathy for me. I have sympathy too, honestly.
00:40:47
Speaker
You don't know? I don't think they do. If you told me, I would, I would remember. If you were, I played that song. Well, people have different memories. It was like a week ago. I was singing you the song on the couch. And remember, I was telling you all about my day. I don't know. It's, it's, it's a very, very,
00:41:15
Speaker
It's two words, the band name. Oh yes, the band name. That's the thing. I know it's two words. First word. The first one syllable. First word is no. I'm not sure. No, it's not no doubt. No.
00:41:37
Speaker
Oh my goodness, why can't I remember? So the band, band is no secrets. No secrets, yeah. And the song is, that's what girls do. That's what girls do. Now that you know it, does the song ring a bell? Yes, exactly. Now that I know, I remember it. We'll play it after. Okay, I'm so sorry. I'm not doing well.
00:42:09
Speaker
OK, so this is going to be our last question for today, and it's highly specific. I didn't think I was going to ask this question, but when I was writing today, it just popped in my head because there is a decorative element in the latest Spider-Man movie, and I've been wanting this item. So it's just like really registered in my brain. But if you're on TikTok
00:42:37
Speaker
interior design TikTok, it pops up a lot. So in Ned's grandmother's house there is a lamp in the corner that is just really on brand because truthfully like every grandma had one of these lamps in their house and we get a nice juicy like shot of it when Andrew Garfield is coming through Ned's little like portal thing. So can you describe the lamp for me? Do you know what I'm talking about? It's like in the corner, it's like a nice tall like big lamp
00:43:07
Speaker
Good floor lamp, really cute. It's so funny that this is the last question because those with that visual eye would obviously be looking at the interior design of Ned's grandma's house. And then I'm just obsessing over Andrew Garfield coming through the portal. So I couldn't even tell you if I saw a lamp. That's fair.
00:43:33
Speaker
But it was, if there was a lamp, it probably was a taller lamp, like with a blind, correct? Like a lampshade? No, it doesn't really have a lampshade, so it's unique. So it's one of those like California lotus lamps, if you see them.
00:43:51
Speaker
A lot of times they have pink glass, they have a floral aesthetic. And this one specifically, what you would think of as a lamp shade is made out of glass, and it's shaped to look like a flower. And so they have all these little glass flowers all over the stock of this lamp. But the other beauty in the room is Andrew Garfield, so I kind of get it. That's a hard one. I mean, both are very pretty to look at.
00:44:19
Speaker
That's what it looks like. Oh, okay. Yeah, that's beautiful. So you said a lot of Gmaws have this? A lot of Gmaws have it. I have a really like small one with that type of glass. It's not in the shape of a flower, but it's like that brand.
00:44:36
Speaker
But there's a different kind of lotus lamp that I've been trying to get my hands on. I found one on Facebook market for like 100 bucks, but it was missing some of the glass pieces. But they're just like very pretty. They're so cute. Yeah. So it's kind of like 1970s, 1980s. Like it falls in line with like the mid century modern like error, but they're definitely like in resurgence. But there's they're very like tacky and I think kind of like
00:45:01
Speaker
catch, but I really like them.

Episode Conclusion and Gratitude

00:45:03
Speaker
Where does Andrew Garfield fall in line with the mid-century modern era? What? I'm just saying, in general, like Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield, where would he fall in line? What do you think his preferences are? Oh, like his Andrew Garfield's interior design aesthetic? I feel like- They're classy as fuck. Yeah, I feel like Andrew Garfield is giving like Bauhaus energy, kind of like industrial
00:45:30
Speaker
Well, thanks so much for playing with us. Oh, I feel like I need to do my homework a lot better this time. We did try to give you easy questions. I mean, my lamp question definitely was just an excuse for me to talk about this lamp that I want. I love that. I think the lamp question is really cool and unique. I just wish I, I feel like I didn't do.
00:45:56
Speaker
that much justice as a boy of APT. I mean, here's the thing, Andrew, like, remember all these things, you provided entertainment, like, we set you up for failure. And, you know, I think that our popdarts appreciate it. All right. Well, anything for them. Oh, so nice. So we're gonna watch breaking on one and two. Yeah, we better give everybody updates.
00:46:20
Speaker
We will. So I have the stories saved from episodes or I mean, movies one through three. But we'll keep everyone updated on movies, Breaking Dawn Part One and two, four and five. And we'll post those on APT, but I'll be posting on my on my story. So all right.
00:46:40
Speaker
Well, thank you. Thank you. Thank you for having me. We're going to learn more about Twilight. Don't worry. We'll get there. I will explain the whole Gwen theory that I have with that for you two at another time. Yeah. I'm not prepared.
