Week 3 2QB & Superflex Start/Sit: Bench Herbert? Etienne Panic + QB Emergency

The Bush League Huddle Fantasy Football Podcast

Transcript

Speaker: We too broke some fantasy rosters. Caleb, Daniels, and Dart all went down. Baker and Herbert are outside. the top 24 on year and in 2QB League, some of you are staring at Case Keenum or Tyson Bajent.

Speaker: So what's actually a problem and what's just noise?

Speaker: Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome back. Welcome back to another episode of the Bush League Huddle Fantasy Football Podcast. How are we doing? this. wonderful Tuesday in September. Yesterday was the 21st of September, so just remember. 21st night of September. You know who remembered the 21st night of September? Every Giants fan on the... planet.

Speaker: remember that's Yes, that's right. 50 seconds in it took me to say about it. I'm sorry. Uh, I apologize it's been a rough one. We're on top of the world for for a whole whole week, whole seven days.

Speaker: ah So I'm fab. I'm joined with Roger and Knack. So two weeks in. My God, that it was the week two was a bloodbath. You finally have enough usage to separate the real trends from overreactions. About two weeks in, usually it's how you want to get as far as that.

Speaker: ah data considerations concerned. So we're going to be looking at a few segments this week. We have, are you nervous? I dedicate to one Mr. Lucas Bavugis, Bushley Huddle alumni. And.

Speaker: and resident Asterix owner, a Signal or Noise, a Consensus versus Bush League Huddle, where we actually challenge week three rankings, which is always fun. And then we have one move before Sunday that each one of us, each one of the hosts is going to be standing 10 toes down on.

Speaker: But with everything that happened at quarterback in week two, which has been quite a bit, unfortunately. We kind of have to start there. so ra You want to take us through the the... two qb mess that was a week week two Yeah, so Caleb Williams, Jaden Daniels, Jackson Dart all go down in week two. And, you know, in one two one QB leagues, you know, you could probably survive it. But as we specialize in two QB and super flex leagues, this can absolutely wreck your lineup. so

Speaker: If you look at some of the rankings, Gino Smith is at QB 18. Jacoby Brissett is at QB 20. At least those guys are ranked like legitimate QB 2s. But after that, you're getting into the big the the the locks, the the Watsons, Michael Penix Jr., Marcus Mariota.

Speaker: James Winston, Tyler Bajent, and now even Case Keenum now that Bajent is in concoion concussion protocol. So let's draw the line on who's actually startable this week. and um one of the things we saw was Deshaun Watson actually had a really good week this week 238 yards two TDs 22 rushing yards last six quarters 32 of 39 368 yards and three touchdowns so Who is the lowest ranked quarterback?

Speaker: You guys would start this week out of this group.

Speaker: Fab, you want to start? Um, But yeah yeah, I mean, no, not really. But yeah, I guess I will. The lowest ranked quarterback that I will start out of this group. I think it's going to be Michael. I think it'd be James Winston, actually.

Speaker: James Winston's the lowest ranked quarterback that I will start on this group that I feel comfortable with Michael Pennings jr He is still coming off an injury. you're Not really sure how he's going to react. to that offense racked within that offense. I don't trust.

Speaker: Case Keenum or Tyson Bajan versus Philly. Um, I'm not there yet. I don't think I ever will be. So I think James Winston is the one that I'd be most interested in starting. It's, it's a soft. after a matchup versus Tennessee.

Speaker: Um, He has better offensive weapons. listen to To be determined how the O -line is going to be ah rebounding after the tough game against the Rams, because I think Andrew Thomas did get banged up a little bit.

Speaker: ah But still, I prefer James Winston. That's the furthest that I would go. that's the deep that's the for this. down the rabbit hole of horrible QE2s that I will go. This week. Knack?

Speaker: I'm going to go one further. I'm going to go Michael Penix Jr. um I think Atlanta has been waiting for. Someone competent to take the reins there. And I think...

Speaker: It's a breath of fresh air to the likes of Drake London and... um Cup hits. Tight end. Michael Pitts. Kyle Pitts. Kyle Pitts, excuse me. see He's in the pits. He's in the pits. We're even forgetting his name now, you know, but it's a breath of fresh air to these guys and all of their their offensive playmakers. I'm curious to see. Green Bay has not been Green Bay so far this year. They almost fumbled it against the Jets as well.

Speaker: uh this past weekend so Curious to see if if if he's starting, that means he's healthy. So I think that's that's the lowest I'll go on on this list. Yeah, I'm gonna go even...

Speaker: I guess you want to say lower. you know, so much that he's he's pictured there. But I hate to say it, Deshaun Watson, and I just rolled off his stats, but he looked pretty good against the Buccaneers. And he gets a Panthers defense that, you know, we got he absolutely got torched.

Speaker: against the Bears in week one. um The Panthers defense was a lot better, mind you, against Jake Strand and Cooper Rush.

Speaker: I think Deshaun Watson, if you look at the weapons, Casey Concepcion, obviously Denzel Boston has looked quite good. And I think he he finally has the confidence of one of his coaches, Todd Monken. I put some bets on him as coach of the year. sneaky coach of the year candidate I think the team really likes him and they rally around him if you compare it to like Kevin Stefanski more monotone they really like the fire that that you know it's not the Browns is the Browns anymore

Speaker: And he said it, you know, F that. It's not the Browns the is the browns anymore. So sea it would be Deshaun Watson for me, and as crazy at it as it is. So is are there any names, guys, quickly, any names that are hard no's for you guys? I feel like you guys would have probably said Deshaun Watson as a hard no for you guys. But any names quickly that, you know, you wouldn't want replacing Caleb, ah Dart, or Daniels?

Speaker: Deshaun Watson is not a hard no for me for all the reasons you just mentioned. What might be a hard no for me is... is I think Aaron Rodgers is a hard no for me. He's not really listed right there, but like I just don't know how that offense is is operating right now.

Speaker: Uh... I think I'm there from that regard. And obviously Cam Ward, Cam Ward too, like another year or two. And I don't know. like it's just There's talent there. Well from a quarterback perspective there is but I'm having a lot of questions about... dabel and how good of an offensive mind he is.

Speaker: Yeah. Nook? Yeah, I think I'm going to have to go with QB3, Case Keenum, even if Tyson Bajan does clear protocol and and is ready to play. I don't know if I'd like any of those two either right now with with Chicago. So if you have to slot one of them in, I'd... I just, I don't, I wouldn't do it this week. Not against Philly.

Speaker: Yeah for sure. Tough situation if you're a Caleb Williams owner. At least, actually, if you're a Caleb Williams owner, it looks like he might be back in a week. Obviously, Daniels, it's going to be a multi -week thing. dart most likely uh you know until the end of the year um but you know these are some names that hopefully you could plug in play uh but you're gonna have to be creative especially into qb super flex so that's that for the qb mess fab let's get into are you nervous

Speaker: Yes. Are you nervous? So yeah so two weeks. Two weeks isn't enough to panic. but is enough to notice when something might actually be changing. So in this segment, we're going to be going through some players here. We're going to be asking. Our hosts, are you nervous? So now we're going to... Start with you for Steelers first.

Speaker: go dk mecca versus jamo jameson williams ah DK had another nine targets last week. and has roughly 26 % of Pittsburgh's target share through two games. So the opportunity is is very much there.

Speaker: Jameson has only four targets and the way that Detroit is using him looks different too. like More goal routes were about 20 % of his routes were last year. We're go routes and it's roughly 14 % of that this year.

Speaker: So DK right now is ranked as wide receiver 25 this week. Jamison is wide receiver 28. Who makes you more nervous?

Speaker: It's pretty easy this one. I think it's since Jamison Williams that makes me more nervous. um DK, look, I definitely don't love what what we've seen so far, but you we know what the problem is. Production hasn't followed the the volume. You know, like you mentioned, he had 19 targets over two games, 26 % of Pittsburgh's targets. and I'll bet on eventually that turning into some type of ah fantasy production.

Speaker: Jamison is different because I'm questioning what his role actually is in this offense. It seems very, very strange right now. um but if you're also telling me that they're They're cutting to those routes basically in half. That's even more concerning because that was what his bread and butter was, was that go -route play, right? So those explosive plays have been...

Speaker: such a huge part of his fantasy see ceiling. so For me. DK definitely frustrates me right now, but Jamison actually makes me incredibly nervous. So if DK keeps getting you know, those 9, 10 targets a week. i'm going to so I'm going to stay patient with that. the the the the the the target share is there.

Speaker: But with Jamison, I need to see... Detroit is actually going to consistently, you know. manufacture opportunities for them before I'm able to trust them anywhere near my lineup. Yeah, it's... I don't have to spend much time on it. NACU said it very, very well. It's Jameson Williams for me. and i've i've tweeted many times his game log is disgusting it's always been disgusting year over year and someone's gonna get got with a you know 100 yard game and then start them and then they're gonna get Two catches.

Speaker: uh 20 yards so agreed fully yeah on that front. Jameson Williams ranked as a wide receiver three this week is ridiculous i don't understand it's like this is This guy will be buried in my in my... depth chart for the rest of The rest of the fantasy season. Anyways, Mac, we're going to stay with the panic, if you don't mind. Baker and Herbert, I think, is on the docket right now.

Speaker: Yes, Baker and Herbert, two guys that have been pretty disappointing so far this year. But this one is actually for all three of us because we actually all own Baker. And um Raj and Fab, I believe you both.

Speaker: on Herbert in respective leagues. um and Baker right now is QB 25 on the year, 12 .4 points a game, and Herbert is QB 26 at 12 .1 fantasy points per game. So Herbert just got you 192 yards, one touchdown, and two picks, while Baker hasn't topped 20 fantasy points since Week 10 last season.

Speaker: so herbert is still QB 11 on the week, je Baker drops all the way down to QB 23. Who makes you more nervous right now? Start with you, Fab. Uh, Herbert?

Speaker: Herbert and his I is not even close. Herbert makes me extremely nervous. um i don't think anybody expected the offense to look at this horrible as it has in the first two weeks and and miss me with all of the, yeah, but you know his wide receivers dropped the ball. And then.

Speaker: bad plays and all that like i'm umm no i'm sorry like i mean it makes me nervous he's had relatively soft matchups and um i'm i'm very i'm very nervous i'm very very nervous i know it's only to um two weeks in here but like the the slate of games that he has coming up right now i'm sure anybody whose own herbert knows this it's like a murderer's role with defenses, right? Like you have the Bills, you have the Seahawks, you have the Broncos, you have the Chiefs, you have the Rams, Texans, Ravens, Jets, Pats. Like those are...

Speaker: Those are all very very difficult defense to play against right now. They could go 1 -9 yeah they can Yeah, they can go 0 -9. They can go 0 -9. Very easily. You can see another, and and and Herbert can be averaging 175 yards, one touchdown, one ironer.

Speaker: except one interception for all of those nine games. And you'll be looking at a low -end QB2. for somebody that you drafted as an every week QB1. And so, yeah, I'm excited.

Speaker: I'll be nervous for Herbert. and it's going to be matchup dependent, which the matchups are not great. And I'm going to have to finagle a way to start two quarterbacks every single week that gives me the best chance to win because. and herbert won't be Herbert won't be doing that for me this week.

Speaker: Yeah. I think At one point, do we blame Madison Beer? because is this that Is that... is don't want to know I didn't want to go there. No, I got someone to blame. No.

Speaker: You know who the passing coordinator is for the Chargers? Oh, man. It's Adam Gase. Crazy eyes. Yes, he goes. Sneaky under the radar. Shout out to Stamati for pointing that out. Did you call him Adam Gacy?

Speaker: It's Adam Gacy. Is it Gacy? I said Adam Gates? No, I said Gates. Guys, it's Fab. We all know that with his pronunciation. One interesting thing I heard, I forgot who was the one who said it, but...

Speaker: um There's an analyst out there that says... In the first two games, they've just... come out looking unprepared. Looking like. Like the coach just not does not have them prepared. Harbaugh does not have this team prepared.

Speaker: um at all and ah look you're right i'm not going to add too much to it it it definitely is herbert And only because... He was drafted higher. um Um... than than baker because i'm i'm nervous about both of them frankly but Definitely, Herbert.

Speaker: Yeah. yeah point Yeah, like... Charlie Kolar and David Njoku. So I think they were supposed to go with heavy tight end sets this year. and David Njoku on IR. Charlie Kohler was supposed to be the blocking tight end.

Speaker: on IR. We're seeing. why I think we're all saying it's Herbert too. The offense line looks terrible. Joel Alt looked terrible against Max Crosby. Terrible. Interior O -line is bad. herbert like i think you said it fab the discourse on on herbert like

Speaker: I am so tired of the the defending of Herbert. it's it's It's insane. Like, guys, it's okay to say this guy. It's okay to say this guy. maybe just might not be what we thought he was going to be or that he's regressed. yeah You could say that he's regressed. I mean, he might not be what we thought he could be.

Speaker: and still say he's a premier talent so i i think we're all tired of it and this qb11 ranking uh you know he's He's above, like, Tyler Shuck. ah you know Even Jordan Love, say what you will. he's but He's even above Matthew Stafford. I don't care. that's but he's that's Stafford's against Denver. Blasphemy.

Speaker: This is nuts. He should be benched in all. At least in 1QB formats and very questionable in 2QB. So I think I know I was going to say quickly, who are you starting? If you have to pick one, I guess we're all on the Baker train here. If you have to start one.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. but like i I still don't feel great about it. yeah No. Yeah, but definitely if you have to pick one, I think we're all on paper. These guys should be ranked very, very similarly.

Speaker: And that QB 20 -ish range for sure, yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Raj, why don't you take us to Chicago? Yeah, so Fab, two bears we talked about last week. So Luther Burden had seven targets and ran a route on 70 % of dropbacks. When Bajent came in for Caleb Williams, four of his targets went to Burden. Loveland is the opposite trend. His route share was 87 % in week one. but dropped to 69%.

Speaker: I was waiting for the nice there, but it's okay. 69 % in week two, and he gave you one catch for three yards. Burden is WR 33 this week. Loveland is tied end 11. Who is making you more nervous?

Speaker: ah Burden's making me or more nervous. And I said this last week as well, actually, when I decided to to sit burden for Chuba Hubbard in one of my leagues, which actually turned out to be the right call.

Speaker: um I just don't understand the way this ah offense is operating, to be honest with you. like um And to be fair, Loveland also makes me nervous too, which is if I had to choose one right now, I would bank more on Loveland having a bit more of a bounce back than than Luther Burden.

Speaker: Um, I just... I feel like it's very running back heavy. I feel like they they target the running backs more. i feel like the The targets that are going... Towards the running backs are more of a high or more higher quality targets And up until...

Speaker: ah Williams got hurt, you saw that he was. you know he was He was manufacturing points with his legs, right? I mean, he was very much the motor of that offense. And. For whatever reason. Kalief Raymond is still a thing in this offense. which is great and all.

Speaker: for people that didn't draft Any... Bears wide receivers that can pick them up off waivers for cheap. So I just I burden makes me nervous and it makes me nervous also for the capital that people invested in him, too. And you could say the same argument for Loveland. I know that.

Speaker: The same argument can be used for Loveland as well. Just that everyone was like. you know Burden was the... the The advanced analytics darling and you know, the guy was going as a wide receiver to at one point and everything and it's like i was I was hesitant on for a reason because I just didn't know what direction was goingnna this offense was going to go in.

Speaker: So, yeah, I'm a little bit more nervous now than I was yesterday. but I mean, I'm i'm I'm right there like if um' If I have Loveland, I'm a little more optimistic because I just feel like... Yeah, there's there are tight ends in that room.

Speaker: but loveland is you know he is he is the guy you know burden there's still other mouths to feed and you can see that one of that mouth came out of nowhere being khalif raymond I think the Vikings game is a bit of a throwaway game because of the weather. Apparently it was monsoon type weather last Saturday. And the Vikings blitzed Caleb Williams on 80 % of dropbacks. So what that meant was that.

Speaker: Colston Loveland ran way less of a route share. He had 87 % route share in week one. 69 percent of route share in week two because he was staying on a lot as a blocker so It doesn't get any better than that, which... That does concern me for the Loveland portion of this, which is why I'm a bit more nervous for him just because He's got the Eagles. He's got the Jets coming up after. The Jets are looking like a good defense.

Speaker: The Packers, that might be a a gettable game. The Falcons are supposed to have a good defense, but it hasn't been great. And then there's the Pats, Seahawks, and the Bucs. I don't know if we're going to get it next week with the Eagles, who typically have they have very good linebackers and a very good secondary. It could be against the Jets. um but i I'm hoping...

Speaker: with maybe Bajent and Keenum. maybe there's a bit more in structure play and less improvisation which means they're going to go to him quickly Not any thoughts.

Speaker: Okay, I think you hit the nail right on the head. I think for me, it it is is Colston Loveland just because the of the draft capital that... command like he he went in you know high third round and in in some leagues right you're not getting the production that's two games and then like you mentioned there's games rough games rough patch of games coming up as well so

Speaker: you know If there's already you know four or five games to start the year where he's not producing, well, that takes a hit on your on your on your fantasy team. so For right now, I think for me, it's Colston Loveland that i'm I'm a little bit more worried about. but we'll ah time will tell and just quickly guys if you look at the range at which loveland is he's tight in 11 as we said he's Above pattt Pat Frymouth, Jake Ferguson. ah I would definitely start Pipe Frymouth above Loveland. He seems to be the favorite. Against Cincy? Yeah.

Speaker: a favorite target of steve rogers and uh maybe jake ferguson too i think he scored a touchdown and then burton wide receiver 33 is right where he needs to be just just below uh below that kind of wr3 mendoza line you you don't think so fab Quickly.

Speaker: No, I think it should be lower. on fergus a wow lower it should be lower like I would start Denzel Boston over him this week. okay come on That's a very good shot. Yeah, I would I would be I would be starting guys that have done something for me already like even a Donovan Mitchell like the guys been yeah targeted and I...

Speaker: I mean, ah I'm sorry. Luther Burden, to me, is riding my bench until further notice. The last thing last thing I'll say in a little transition is like I think... ah we we we overdid it on Burden, I think. like there There was at least proof of concept with someone like Parker Washington. There was very little proof of concept with Burden. And by we, I mean me. And I think you too, Fab. I think we were both we were both high on Luder.

Speaker: it was just It was just me. check the tapes roger check the tapes okay so okay i'm having selective amnesia okay Okay. um Okay. I will, actually. i As an unofficial producer of this show, I will check the tapes. ah Fab, take us to the bayou.

Speaker: Yes, the Bayou. Yes, O 'Rourke. H -N, H -N, H -N, H -N. H -N, H -N. It's Shin. The running back for the New Orleans Saints, him, that guy. So he's running back 25 ranked this week versus the Las Vegas Raiders. But Camara has returned.

Speaker: And by halftime, he's had 10 touches to a Chen's 2. 10 finish with only 25 rushing yards. And two targets, Camarasa 6. targets like Are you nervous that this is becoming a real committee? A lot of people put a lot of capital into Travis H.

Speaker: Oh, I am full -blown nervous about Etienne. I am. I can't do it with this name. Okay. I can't do it. I'm not used to it. I'm full -blown nervous. with him i am trying every single thing i could do to get rid of him. I draft him as my RB2 in my work league, and it is not paying off. And it's crazy because I...

Speaker: i even told myself i did not want to come away with him in drafts but i was i was in i feel like a lot of people who have hn are had him you know due to necessity like they didn't necessarily want him but It's really bad that...

Speaker: Alvin Kamara. 31 year old Alvin Kamara who has constantly been injured, is getting more work with him. Kendrick Miller is getting more work with him. I think there's a rookie running back who's actually playing in pass protection over Kamara and...

Speaker: HN. So this is a full -blown worry. RB25 is way too low. I'm going to talk about him in my one move, obviously, but I am i'm fully, fully worried. And any off -ramp that you could get, if there's a good week this week. I would i would get off it with... with it with HN.

Speaker: I think you just that was you just nailed my point. if you're just With this guy here, I am so nervous that you're just hoping for that boom week. so that you could flip him in a trade and get something out of him because right now he's worth absolutely nothing.

Speaker: I think I was one of them that said that I just didn't like the fit in in New Orleans. I don't know how he really fit in properly. they were They're a team that usually likes to have that power guy on on first, second down and then kind of have the pass catching back.

Speaker: But with Camara there, didn't get rid of Camara. They they kind of have a similar... You know, Shell, I feel like he he just doesn't. fit in that offense. and I think for whatever reason, I think Raj, I think you mentioned it maybe last. week. there could be something with ownership that has camara there that just wants to get Camara.

Speaker: constantly involved if he is there. So I'm just, I am so out on this backfield because, you know, Kamara at his age just mentioned that he can't carry it. and It sure looks like it's hand -canned either.

Speaker: Yeah. uh agree on all accounts over there i mean the the only motivating factor you had of ever starting a chin was uh targets and receptions in a ppr league and now that that's gone it's like Okay.

Speaker: I tried to trade him for a bag of chips. We're going to move on because I think we're all pretty much on the same page over here. Roger, I think for signal or noise, it's up your necks.

Speaker: yep so you got the next segment signal nor is so enough of the guys that we're worried about we're gonna talk about signal or noise which of the early trends are real enough that we should actually trust them so we're gonna start uh with parker washington i'm goingnna get the graphic beautiful graphic up with our guy parker washington there we go uh so knacks your boy knack let's stop asking whether parker washington is real he's a wr10 on the year Had another 12 targets last week. owns a 36 .7 target share through two games. Fantasy Pros has him at WR15 against New England.

Speaker: Are we officially at the point where Parker Washington is a set it and forget it? weekly starter knock. What do you think? 100%. If he is healthy, he's in my lineup and I am leaving him there until he's bi -week or he's hurt. He's commanding targets like an alpha and he's producing without even needing touchdowns at this point.

Speaker: And he just gave you 98 yards and in in Denver, right? So words it's it's a harder you know defense. there's no way i'm benching a a guy that's getting me this kind of volume because i drafted someone else three or four rounds earlier this is the time where guys you see it it's it's not a fluke I don't care if you drafted... This is a perfect example. You have Drake London. like and That's the... the the kind of oh do i start drake london or parker washington i'm going parker washington like you you've seen it this is the guy you want

Speaker: Um, in your lineup. Definitely set it and forget it. I'm i'm starting him over. Really many wide, elite wide receivers. uh in that that that's like That's a gift, at wide receiver 15, I feel like at this point.

Speaker: He's earned it. He's earned his way into the conversation. And right now, you need to give me a reason to take him out of the lineup. and and Not put him in. Fab. I fully agree. There's a lot of guys that I would start him over over For the rest of season that but were drafted well before him like especially not like Malik neighbors or even like a George Pickens Right. I mean that this guy is firmly up there like that's He deserves to be there. He's in every single week where I receive.

Speaker: receiver two, low end wide receiver one at some point. yeah We're going to clip this. Basically, it means stop asking us about Parker Washington. on social media, yeah on group chats, like stop it. like Put him in your lineup.

Speaker: Don't put him as a flex. He's he's an every week guy. it's it's very It's very simple. simple um We're going to move on. Nak, take the next wide receiver, please.

Speaker: Yes, we're going to move on to Mr. Stephan. Diggs, Fabs, Diggs just gave you 21 .7 points on six targets, five catches, 47 yards, and two touchdowns.

Speaker: But the two weeks is only... running a route on 59 % of Washington's pass plays. But the interesting part is he's still earning targets. 24 % targets there despite the limited routes. Fantasy Pros has him as WR...

Speaker: 30 against seattle so signal or noise are you comfortable treating digs like a weekly starter or is that route share still a problem? No, he's in my lineup every single week as a he's a bona fide wide receiver three um And the only reason why I say is a wide receiver three is just because the the target share is is It's not always that high, and the route share does a bit concern me. but

Speaker: the the end zone like The high -value targets are there. like The guy has three touchdowns in two games, right? So that that's kind of what you want from a wide receiver, at the very least. And he's part of the offense. Like legitimately, he's part of the offense and he's still.

Speaker: A very good. wide receiver. who plays a a very limited role but plays it very, very well. And I think even though with the change of quarterback now, because Marcus Mariota. He's going to be the the quarterback now for the Commanders Redskins.

Speaker: Got it. Redskins, Redskins, yeah. For the Redskins, for... um Like at least the next. Two months, I would say. Like without even knowing what the severity is. Well, we know what the severity is with this location, but like.

Speaker: The next two years. i see you would um Yeah. It's been two years. the what the neuro offic commander fire No, no, he's going to be the QB for the next two years there.

Speaker: Oh yeah, yeah. yeah I mean, I i think that But Mariota can still function that offense I think is a very good backup and and I don't see this necessarily missing a bit beats maybe a downtick in some production but still very much good enough for him to be Started every single week as a wide receiver. three i Worse as a flex play.

Speaker: And the only reason why I say. a Potential downtick is just because Marcus Mariota does have an existing rapport with. Terry McLaurin. But again, minimal. Diggs really much slotted into that. He's a slot receiver role there. that All the targets that were going to Zach Gertz are now going to him.

Speaker: And yeah, I like him. i definitely I definitely like him a lot and as an every week starter. Yeah, I'm going to disagree on this one just by the simple fact that he asked Seattle this week and Seattle's defense is looking absolutely monster. And I think that the efficiency, while great.

Speaker: We saw it. I had some digs last year with the Patriots. I think it was definitely frustrating. Same type of route share a little bit higher this year. But same type of route share is hard to.

Speaker: Trust, especially now with the Mariota and Jade and Daniel, like all all of things. Daniel's playing playing quite well, to be honest, and Mariota is a decent starter. But you just have to assume there's going to be a little bit of regression on there. I think WR30 this week against Seattle, you know.

Speaker: Fair, but... If I look at like ah someone i someone else, I own a Chris Godwin. I might want to start Chris Godwin maybe more. or dare i say even you might even want dentavian wicks might have more Upside, yes, I am saying don't even wick so. I like that call.

Speaker: yeah Look, I... I think. i i think it's uh it's just the racha that concern concerns me if that increases I think I would be more comfortable, but I just don't see how the efficiency holds true.

Speaker: That's exactly what it what it is. I think i'm I'm going to agree with you, Roger, on this one. It's it's really that. It's the efficiency that I don't think continues with with... this type of route share so especially like you said you you nailed it this week in seattle like i think they're in for a uh

Speaker: a really rough one um this this coming weekend. So i'm I'm definitely comfortable starting all those wide receivers you mentioned. Maybe not Jamison Williams at wide receiver 28. But other than that, everyone above him, I think, is is pretty startable. even Bye.

Speaker: I'll probably go Terry McLaurin before Diggs this week. Yeah. He's really concerning. It's it's really ah it's not been great for you for for Scary Terry.

Speaker: It is a bit concerning. But why are you starting him before? Yeah, for me, does he's he's he's he's more due. It's kind of like the, it's it's I feel like he's he's more due for for that breakout. he did He did have one touchdown call back last week and another one, I think it was dropped.

Speaker: So you could have easily had two touchdowns last week as well. I think it's coming for him. There's there's going to be more. There's more opportunity for him than Diggs. It's just Diggs. making the most of his opportunities now, but down the line.

Speaker: Terry McLaurin, I think, finishes a higher fantasy player than Stefan Diggs, I believe, anyways. But Fab, let's... Why don't you take us to Houston Yeah, H -Town. So, Knack.

Speaker: David Montgomery This is RB16 this week. uh ranked for his rb16 woody marks his rb38 but the usage looks a lot closer than that actual gap So through two games, they both run 41. routes. Last week, Woody Marks actually out snapped Montgomery.

Speaker: Ran 20 rounds to Montgomery's 14, and I'll target him 6 -2. So, After that week one. or Montgomery. blew up is this starting to become more like a if it's the backfield.

Speaker: Yeah, I guess you could call it 50 -50 backfield for now. And honestly, as a Montgomery owner, I don't love saying that. um two straight weeks actually they're they're pretty much splitting splitting snaps and like you mentioned the I'll snap the...

Speaker: Montgomery out snapped him in a week one and then later. Last week. Marks actually had 13 touches to Montgomery's 8. So that's not really a backup anymore. But the reason why I'm not panicking just yet is... Montgomery, the the fantasy roles aren't really 50 -50 yet. Monty is still the guy I trust around the goal line.

Speaker: And that's why you can't have two backs playing you know half the snaps. you I mean, you could have. two backs playing. you know, Half the snaps and Stout Montgomery ranked. RB16 and Marks. r b thirty eight Like, I think that's still fair.

Speaker: Just because I think. Montgomery has more of a TD upside. But. That is my concern is that TD when when the they're not there. it's not looking too great, right? They looked fantastic in week one when he found the end zone three times, but when he didn't find it in week two, suddenly you feel more of that 50 -50 split, right? so I'm still starting Montgomery, but I think his floor is a lot shakier than we thought coming into the year.

Speaker: Yeah, I don't know. I don't really like Montgomery's rank ranking this week. look It's Indianapolis. The defense has really, really struggled against the run.

Speaker: The Texans are going to be very dependent on their game script, and that's what happened this past weekend against the Bengals. The Texans were down a lot of that game, hence why you saw Woody Marks. So it can be a more positive game script game against the Colts this weekend, but I still think RB16 is high. i I see him more as a... he He's a definite flex play for now for me. um But I think it'll be 50 -50 when it's negative game script and the Texans are down and positive when, you know, it's it's ah it's an easier matchup, which, you know, they do have some easier matchups. I think the the Titans are coming up. Unfortunately, the the Giants and even Chargers are coming up in a few weeks as well.

Speaker: I think Montgomery can be a sell high in a few weeks. Because it does have some nice matchups coming up in this guy It's not as efficient as it used to be we saw that in in week one even though I scored two touchdowns And a again, Cincinnati, they both struggle, but Cincinnati have a much better run defense that people might give them credit for after trading for Dexter Lawrence.

Speaker: He has some pretty tough matchups coming up right now. I... I think flex play is right, Raj. I agree with you. And I think if you're owning Montgomery... After he has a few good games, you should look to trade him for something of a...

Speaker: higher value sort of position, I think.

Speaker: But, Mac, I think one more back. we can talk about right now? Yeah, let's talk about Aaron Jones, Roger Evans Jones, who only gave you 10 .5 fantasy points, but the the workload underneath, it was huge. He had 23 carries per...

Speaker: 105 yards, played about 80 % of the snaps and handled 82 % of Minnesota's rushing attempts. obviously with Jordan Mason Hurt. He came up pretty sore, though, and Kevin O 'Connell said that they'd be discussing their options at running back. This is like the the Aaron Jones m MO. I think he comes out every single game. He's always questionable at the return. He's always questionable on the week.

Speaker: He is now. RB22 at Tampa. So signal or noise, is Aaron Jones still a true workhorse in your eyes?

Speaker: Definitely not a true work host. That's definitely noise. But the signal is still there in terms of the production and the talent. Aaron Jones has always been a very talented running back. So it's no surprise that he had a very good game. 23 rushes, 105 yards, as you said. If you look at the schedule.

Speaker: Coming up, they have the Buccaneers. pretty bad defense. The dolphins have a very bad defense. the saints can be run on and the colts we know have been run on as well and even the lions too

Speaker: So I would say Jordan ma Mason should be back, I want to say, what in the next three to four weeks because he's on IR due to the thumb injury. This is a very clear sell high with Aaron Jones. I have one of i have him in in Bush League. I love him as a flex. He's a perfect flex. I don't need him to be my RB2 because I have Bijan and Kenneth Walker.

Speaker: So once either Mason is back or that kind of schedule is done. I'll be more than happy to see if... you know he he could be a so high.

Speaker: Yeah. I agree. Definitely not an every week RB2, more of a flex play, and you're you're looking to sell high. He won't be able to survive the season at this rate. Let's be honest. You give the guy 23 carries every single game. no Yeah, well, look, it's always been his issue. Like I mentioned, he's he's always coming out of games. He's always banged up. He's always hurt somehow. I think you've got to get him a...

Speaker: a competent back to to split with a little bit. But for right now, I guess you you ride the wave and I think you're you're right, Raj. a Perfect flex. Fur fur. Aaron er Jones.

Speaker: But why don't we transition here and and pay some bills. Raj, why don't you take us through to FantasyCaster. Yeah, so Fantasy Caster is back. for week three with us. If you missed it last week, Fantasy Caster basically turns your fantasy league into its own podcast feed. You get three personalized shows every week. The saga tells the story of your matchup. and all the drama around it.

Speaker: The diehards gets you into your league and and and your matchup like two superfans who actually care about the result. And the unlock pod goes deeper into the history. and mythology. of your leak.

Speaker: If you want to try it out, use our Bush League Huddle link. fantasycaster .ai B L H again, fantasy caster. dot ai slash B L H.

Speaker: So, all right, back to the rankings. Hide this. Back to rankings. So three spots where the consensus and usage don't quite line up. So this is our consensus versus Bush League Huddle segment. So let's start with Drake London.

Speaker: London has only a 19 % target share through two weeks and just five targets last week. But Michael Penix is back. And with Penix under center, we talked about it. London has historically been targeted on 33 .6 % of his routes compared to 25 .6 % without him. Fantasy Pro still has London as WR14 at Green Bay. Fab.

Speaker: Are you buying the Pennix? Bump. Yes. give me all of the Give me all the Drake London and Michael Penix this week. Give me all of it. Give me give me all of it. If you're a Drake London owner, rejoice.

Speaker: You want all the pennix. Rejoice. Give me all the pennix. Drake London. All the pennix. Give me all the pennix. My favorite city in Europe is London And my favorite rapper is Drake. No. ah by Where are we going with this?

Speaker: All the London. I don't know where we're going with this. London Collins. Yes, yes. like it's this is is If you're a London owner, you'd be waiting for this. And this is like make or break. At the very least, you need to see some sign of life. It's going to be a Thursday night game. Like it's going to be Michael Penix's first game this season.

Speaker: I'm not expecting London to go for $1 .60. 10 receptions and a touchdown. But you need a sign of life. You need positive aggression. So I'm looking for that this week. I think you will get it. It is also a very nice matchup versus Green Bay.

Speaker: um So. All this. Signs reporting for this to be. to be yes so uh yeah i'm but i'm buying the penix bump 100 like give me a 35 target share Give me 95 average yards per game versus 45 when it's not Michael Penix for Drake London. Like, give me all the advanced analytics you want. Yes, 100%. I'm going with Drake London.

Speaker: <unk>s I don't want to say it's make or break, but I definitely want to see a sign of life for sure. And I think you're going to get it. I really, really do.

Speaker: i Look, I think I mentioned at the beginning of the episode, this is, you know, yeah all systems go now for for the the playmakers. I think for sure i'm I'm all in on. on london this week as you mentioned fab great matchup at um at green bay he's he's in my starting lineup there's there's really nothing much More to say he's, you know, it's gets it's what he's good he's getting. a whole full yard per route more.

Speaker: with Penex, right? so I don't know. I'm i obviously don't second guess it. Like if you have London, he's in your starting lineup this week. 100%. There's no way you can bench him this week. All systems go fully agree with you guys. Five, take the next one.

Speaker: Yeah, Josh Downs. So knack. Downs is only wide receiver 38 this week. But after Alec Pierce left last week, he's going to be missing some time as well, actually. ah Downs ran a route on 83 % of dropbacks and commanded a 36 .4 % target share.

Speaker: Um, We already know that he earns targets, and now he might actually be able to have the route volume to really pay some serious fantasy dividends. So is wide receiver 38 too low for Josh Downs? yeah in my opinion it's um it's a little bit uh it's definitely a little bit too low and The kids.

Speaker: It's always been a thing held that Josh Downs' back is is not really his ability to earn targets, it's whether actually... going to be on the field enough to earn them. you know He was always in three wide receiver sets. He was never always on the field. um all the time but like you said pierce is down he's on ir so he's going to miss four weeks Um, He was out there 80 % of the dropbacks and he's commanding a third, ah more than a third of the targets. so

Speaker: Finished with nine targets, seven catches, 72 yards. that So very good fantasy production, even without the touchdown. And if you're giving Josh downs. that kind of route participation i'm definitely interested and Like I said, da Pierce is going to miss. Missed four weeks and...

Speaker: I don't know. im um I think it feels a little it feels a little low. feels full Especially full PPR, like 7 for 72 last game. 14 points without a touchdown. so I think he's comfortably inside my top 30 this week. um I think I'm starting him as a WR3 with WR2 upside.

Speaker: i would say same same thing with the the with with the regards to the wide receiver 38 is is Perfectly ranked. Yeah, I think that's that's too that's too high. I think that's too high.

Speaker: high You think wide receiver 3D is too high?

Speaker: You would have him lower than wide receiver 38? Guys, the passing game doesn't look that great yet to me. And it' still the Houston defense. like I know the Houston defense hasn't looked that great so far. but They kept up with the Chiefs last week. They played a pretty good defense in the Chiefs. Yeah, but the houston again, Houston against it gets big against the Bills, being against the Bengals.

Speaker: I think this is a get right get -right -game for their defense. pay fair but Okay, Okay, yeah. Well, let's and agree to this disagree, I suppose.

Speaker: I agree with this. That's fine. But, Knack, how about you finish us off with a running back? Yeah, how about we go Marion Hampton versus Devon A. Chan.

Speaker: So, Fab, you have 8chan. Raj and I actually have Hampton. Hampton handled 72 % of the Chargers' rushing attempts last week. And Fantasy Pros has him as RB12. but he's still below a 30 % route share through two games, and Chargers running backs have only a 5 .6 % target share. And on the other side, HN is RB14, but his roll is huge. 82 % of the snaps, 66 % of the carries, and 71 % route share.

Speaker: Which rankings do you agree with more, Hampton at 12 or HN at 14? I actually agree with HN at 14. More than I grew the Hampton at 12. uh the the off the Miami offense ah We thought.

Speaker: would They are what we thought they'd be. or they are who we thought they are. And and that's kind of what it is. We we knew that HM was going to get a lot of volume. um And he's getting the volume.

Speaker: And he is the... the The only player in that offense that you can start to be honest with you. It just hasn't really translated to fantasy football glory yet, unfortunately. You would think that better days are ahead because we have that amount of volume. good things will happen.

Speaker: I don't know if it's going to be this week, though, versus a KC defense that have been really good at the beginning of the year so far. so it's Yeah, HNF 14 low -end. Low NRB1, really good RB2. I think that's... that's That makes sense to me. That makes sense.

Speaker: Yeah, unfortunately I have to agree. And I haven't been too impressed with the Marion Hampton. I think the efficiency hasn't been great. I think. it's been hard to be impressed with everyone in the charges as we mentioned but a -chan is appropriately ranked he's gonna be very tethered to whoever he's playing and as you said fab against that kc defense that look that has looked quite good albeit Taylor was able still able to get some work done last week, but it's it's a different beast. like there's There's no help for HN. and on that team.

Speaker: i think I think it's... ah I think we... we we We're all in agreement here, even even the likes of of... Gibbs last week against Buffalo had only 52 yards on the ground. so I don't think things get much easier for Hampton. and We just mentioned it. Devon HN is the entire offense. he's He's going to get the ball. uh At every, every. every opportunity. so

Speaker: ah Yeah, again, I think I'm going to go HN here. as well. So Fab, let's finish it with one more move before Sunday. One real move, one sentence why, that's it.

Speaker: So you know why I'm actually going to be benching this week?

Speaker: um I'm actually I'm actually looking to to pick up another time and off waivers and one of my leagues were actually had Tucker Tucker Kraft and actually see if Tucker Kraft can ride my bench I have some in one of my leagues Um,

Speaker: I can't say which one because I might be listening. Ah, whatever. It doesn't matter. there's there's There are really interesting options that are still on waivers, like Dalton Kincaid, for some reason, is still on waivers in one of my leagues. And he's been on fire lately. And Tucker Craft has.

Speaker: uh has not been the um has not lived up to the hype yet i guess he's still coming i guess he's still trying to figure that out that acl injury and honest And just in general, I mean, I think right now the the Green Bay offense is really running. through.

Speaker: the wide receivers and in particular in Christian Watson who It's really impressed me so far this year. Yeah. Wow. He hasn't been just a deep threat that we all thought he would be. His average depth of target has actually decreased.

Speaker: Matthew Golden has been an uptick in targets. I think just Tucker Kraft is... has been a little bit on the sidelines so far so yeah i'm uh i'm looking to pick up another more dynamite titan

Speaker: That's why I am Roger Roger yeah who who what's your What's your one sentence? Yeah, it's ah i'm I'm moving a 10 into my bench, and in one league, my work league, I have Jonah Coleman. Even if J .K. Dobbins... which you know apparently he's going to be okay. I really like what I saw out of Jonah Coleman, and I will be benching Etienne.

Speaker: for coleman uh until wow even with uh potentially rj harvey coming back as well yeah i can do with it ti like it's It's a headache. it's It's a disaster, that situation. And I i need an off -ramp as quickly as possible. So I'm hoping he has a big game and I can get get rid of him.

Speaker: Knock. Yeah, for me, it's a move I should have done last week that I was contemplating doing last week that this week I'm 100 % doing. I am benching Baker Mayfield and putting in Bryce Young versus Cleveland. That is a 100 % certainty. I am officially done with Baker for the time being.

Speaker: And I am going to ride the Bryce Young wave and hopefully he takes me to the promised land. ah So that's definitely the move I will be making this week.

Speaker: That's it, folks. That's it for week three. So on behalf of Fab and Raj. Don't forget to like, follow and subscribe everywhere for all our week three content. And we will see you next week.

Speaker: Let's pray that. There's no QBs who get injured. Oh my God. there can be none left just Pray that Jackson Dart just doesn't miss the whole season. God, I can't wait to see. why Give him my knee. marco marco Marco has Dart and Caleb, man. That's just is terrible.

Speaker: Give him my knee. give it give my knee ah some someone Some of us are not going to have any fab left tomorrow morning. That's for sure. No.

Speaker: No, we too is a fab murder. I have a feeling there's going to be a couple goose eggs. All right. Goodnight, everyone. Peace out everyone.

Speaker: Bye -bye.
