Speaker: There are a lot of two quarterback and super flex mock drafts out there where guys make picks. Explain them. and grade the teams at the end. We're doing something different. Three draft spots, three different strategies.

I'm joined, as always, with Roger and Mac. And we got ah we got a fire episode. We got probably our our most anticipated episode of the entire.
Speaker: podcast season rolling up up until you know week one of the NFL season this is this is our this is our qb 2qb strategy superflex strategy mock draft episode This is what we're doing right now.
Speaker: Last week, we broke down our our draft strategy and two quarterback and super flags and more than 13 ,000 of you have watched that episode. So thank you very, very, very much to all of our loyal listeners. Everyone who's been listening, paying attention.
Speaker: And. And just along with us here on the ride has been fantastic. So today we're putting all of that to the test. We're drafting at the same spots. Rodgers at 102. Not because I 104 and I'm at the 110.
Speaker: but We're going to be doing going into the draft with a... Bit of a different plan. so If you haven't checked out are. Full two quarterback and super flex episode yet. Make sure to go watch that one too.
Speaker: But today we're actually putting those strategies into practice. Before we jump into anything, I do i would like to take a few. Few seconds here. To just send a special shout out to one little.

Speaker: So happy birthday to Olivia. Now. Three spots. Three strategies. We're going to. We're going to talk about real quick the rivals super flex strategy that as you can see on screen right now it's um as we showed last week our partner rival has a super flex strategy tool that gives you different ways to attack your draft based on your league settings and draft position.
Speaker: so we're not going to go into the whole thing again today like we've done in the past however instead each of us is going to go into this mock draft with a different approach and we're going to see how well we can actually stick to it once the board starts. moving
Speaker: and So that's really the the first stars we have right now. I think, Roger, think you're you're up first with the 102. So what does that, I guess, look like for you as we have on your screen right now this wonderful graphic that you put together?
Speaker: and what i guess can can make you switch your strategy or abandon that right off the bat It says it on the screen. And for those who don't see it, for me, it's stars first. I talked about it last week. That's what I'm going to be implementing in our macck mock draft. this week it is stars first i'm looking for the elite running back or the elite wide receiver There's virtually nothing that could change my mind on that front.
Speaker: i know what i want i want a build that starts with and a set it and forget it rb1 or WR1. So that that's that's where it lands for me. Nak, you're going to be at 104.
Speaker: So, Knack, what are you hoping those first three picks tell you before you're on the clock? Well, look, at the end of the day, I'm i'm going to be picking the best available players. So whether, you know.
Speaker: It becomes a running back that kind of slides to me or, you know, both. both big running backs are gone and and potentially the wide receiver gone then it makes my decision easier potentially on the Josh Allen. But really for me, it's, I think it's.
Speaker: It's probably one of the easiest spots to pick at because you know you're not getting... one guy but you you you know you're getting a stud and i feel like There's no other way to put. to the to pick the best player available here and there's no doubt in my mind you're chilling Mm hmm.
Speaker: I feel like it's, I've been doing more and more and it's just, I feel like that's just the best way to go is just pick the, don't overthink it, pick the best player available, move on. um Then we have Fab actually rounds out at the 10th spot.
Speaker: So how far are you actually willing to let it go before you have to change your plan? I mean, i'm I'm willing to wait quite a bit, actually. I'm willing to really see how the draft.
Speaker: sort of just falls in my favor or not, depending on what the position runs are in the first round. I mean, if it goes very QB heavy in the first round, then I'm just grabbing a wide receiver and a running back at the turn. And and if... the opposite happens and it's very.
Speaker: heavy wide receiver or heavy running back then i'll secure the quarterback position for the entire draft and i'll just grab two Prime. uh QB1s.
Speaker: So it it really... ah It really depends on how that First nine pick. Go. And then from there, I'll just, you know what? I just see how things fall my way and that's it. you know like it's I'm really going to let the draft come to me in that sense.
Speaker: But it's interesting, right? Like we have three spots. Three three different approaches. um The rival link, as you guys can see on our... on our on our What's this called over here? The thing that runs across the screen?

Speaker: I was trying to get my guy. you You want to get your guy? Okay, so we're going to start this now. Again, I'm at the two position, Naxx at the four, Fab is at the ten, and away we go. I'm really praying.
Speaker: That is not Jameer Gibbs that the CPU takes. First. Oh, really wow. my god you go assume You got to scroll up a little bit, Rog. Oh, sorry.
Speaker: There it is. Bijan Robinson. that makes That makes it very easy for me, as I've said all along. So this is Josh Allen, right? This is Josh Allen? As I've said all along, I want the set it and forget it.
Speaker: RB1, the number one player on everyone's board. I'm absolutely going. Josh Allen. jimmy gibbs Junior Gibbs. Wow. Oh. And Jamar Chase goes third. So again. As I mentioned in in the intro there, it's really a no -brainer for me here. It's just the best player available on the board. And that is going to be Mr. Josh Allen. So again, I am not going to.
Speaker: I'm not going to overthink, and I'm just going to make the pick. And that's how all of your mocks have been going too, right? Oh, the computer sniped. James Cook. I got sniped thirty already by James Cook. that so you You were looking for James Cook at that spot. That was your guy? I don't believe you.
Speaker: I'm looking for James Cook. I'm going to have to settle unfortunately with. Wow, this actually became very interesting. So really some top running backs went off the board over here. Um, So now I'm off the pivot. Actually, am I might have to pivot to a quarterback. Yeah. This, so this is one of the scenarios we're talking about where like you let the draft come to you. There's what, there's a bit of a run on running backs.
Speaker: ah You see five right there. I could go with Devon A. Chan. or Barkley, but I don't think that's... I'm on Ross St. Brown. I'm on Ross St. Brown. Two back -to -back. This becomes interesting, I find, is the back -to -back. There's so many different scenarios you could play here, like St. Brown, Lamb. You could just go two wide receivers. I'm definitely going...
Speaker: I'm definitely going Amon Ross St. Brown. So that's my one right there. and then i'm now i'm gonna i'm gonna go quarterback i mean there's lamar jackson on the board still like that's And you went Jackson over May? I want Jackson over May. I'm going for the rushing upside on that, yeah.
Speaker: Do different new offensive coordinator. No. Looking at the board, how it felt to me. um A lot of these running backs are taken. You've got Ashton Gentry, who's a bit banged up. Walker Hampton available for me.
Speaker: ah No, no. thing is, is I don't know how. these guys are going to go i definitely want to get one of these running backs i don't know who's going to come back around to me And I think I'm going to take the guy that might have a good year here. So I'm going to go with a Marion Hampton.
Speaker: I guess the i guess the the ankle bothered you for with Jinty. We did. Yeah. Yeah. Uh...
Speaker: I'm going to go against the grain and I kind of talked about it in the. Um... We had a bolt was it the bold predictions episode we had I believe i had said I had said that I think a certain tight end will break the target's record. at this as And what i like what i like what I like about being at the turn here is that...
Speaker: I could get a running back after I really want. to double up on running back or cause I think wide receiver is super, super deep this year. So this is, um this is a tremendous spot for Brock, Brock Bowers for me.
Speaker: One thing we, i think I think as a collective, we missed here. did you see team three got the stack right off the bat burrow chase Saw that. I saw that. Smart. Very nice.
Speaker: Smart with the burrow chase stack at number two. That's a pretty interesting strategy to take. yeah Good call, Nak. And even Team 6, Taylor and HN, I like that a lot because you have the rushing aspect with Taylor. And then if you worry that he's less of a PPR threat, well, you have Devon HN as well, yeah who's going to gobble up some some catches. This is where...
Speaker: so some of the options i have i could go aj brown i could go drake london again i really think wide receiver is super deep this year despite even even with the fact that this is a three wide receiver league and from a running back perspective um I could go either Kenneth Walker, Chase Brown.
Speaker: Derek Henry. um I'm going to go with Old Reliable with Derrick Henry here. Just. The Declan Doyle aspect, I think Lamar Jackson being back, they were saying all the right things during training camp. I love this spot for Derrick Henry as my - Your running back room right now is very scary. Yeah.
Speaker: Boom 3 is a Bengals fan, obviously. Clearly. I'm not sure why he made that. That would have been most likely my pick here, the Chase Brown.
Speaker: get some more ppr action there obviously with josh allen i do not feel the need to um Take a QB again. Then you have kind of like Kenneth Walker, which is, there's some question marks. I'm i'm just not sure about that offense as a whole. Mahomes coming back from ah a knee injury. Jeremiah Love hurt.
Speaker: Karen Williams might be too high. I think here is where I go with. the um Probably the... best available wide receiver at the moment. I think I'm i have i'm expecting a huge season here. I'm going to go A .J. Brown.
Speaker: Yeah. Amen. Makes sense.
Speaker: and how's it looking Look, I could have easily gone McBride there too as well, right? like they there's I could have gone best tight. I'm not a big fan of the tight end. Super high.
Speaker: Yeah, Team 5 went the tight end route. so they're they're Very happy with their pass catchers right there. um i'm looking I'm looking at running back right now. I think there's a little bit of value to be had with Kenneth Walker in the third round.
Speaker: So he's going to take my pick over here. and From a wide receiver standpoint.
Speaker: I mean, Nico. Oh, Collins is just he's there and he's like, hi, how are you? And that's that's always been my that's always been my guy right there. But I really want to cover my basis with running back right now. So I'm actually going to go with that Karen Williams. of course was Very, but i very steady running back to very steady running back to but very, very steady. What a surprise. Very steady. you can got more cubs A couple more come off the board. Herbert and Prescott.
Speaker: love Love went off. be it and so did hall i guess josh jacobs they didn't they didn't really update the settings here uh for me again uh i think this guy is gonna there's there's literally no one behind him after they they released one of their There are B2 from last year. And there's really, I think there's what, like.
Speaker: there's no one behind this guy i think really great value here in the fourth I'm going to get my second running back and pick Javante Williams. Yeah, that's a great call. Very good um Team 3 sniped me with Malik Neighbors because I felt this was a... an area in around four where i'm comfortable going with malik neighbors i seem to have Team three has a nice team. Team 3 has a nice team despite - And look, the Bengals stack is not as crazy as you think, right? No, it really isn't. um So here, do I...
Speaker: From the QBs that are available, again, I have the turn that comes back to me in round five where I'm in pick two. I could go Trevor Lawrence. I could go Jackson Dart. I still like the QBs that are available, so I'm going to focus on either running back or wide receiver.
Speaker: Um... i think this is where i go wide receiver And... I'm going either, I'm thinking either Chris Olave or Rishi Rice. Olave, the concussion scared me. Rishi Rice.
Speaker: Prison. uh everything else because yeah he suspended he he rehabbed he rehabbed in prison but just Let's just call it what it is. Rishi Rice prison.
Speaker: I'm going to go with... Rishi Rice. and I've been pretty adamant that I'm not a big fan of his. but so josh Again, Josh Jacobs probably doesn't go there.
Speaker: No. I would think. Yeah, Josh she is sorry doesn't doesn't go there. Well, he's on the commissioner exempt list, right? So he, like, there's no timetable when he's going to be able to come back. so he can Yeah, but there's speculation where it's like.
Speaker: six to ten games is the speculation. Yeah, and but he's also... a minimum He can't practice for those six to ten games. So he's going to be cold.
Speaker: when he even comes back on the roster. So for everyone listening, don't drive draw Josh Jacobs that high. yeah um there's gonna be This is not as crazy as you think. There's going to be someone in every league who just... For sure. He doesn't realize. For sure. um well will I think we'll leave it there. So I'm back at pick five, 5 .2.
Speaker: um I still think there's QBs that I could have later. I'm not in a rush to go QB personally. I could go another running back to solidify my flex. I can go wide receiver. I believe at this stage, the running backs are all clumped together and I could probably get some value.
Speaker: at RB3 later. I'm gonna go with Teruah McMillan. Mm. I think he's good bound for it to have a really good year with Bryce Young this year. He had a really good camp.
Speaker: And... um Team three actually sniped my next guy. I was looking at going at wide receiver since in this league we do start three. So it is still a pretty important position to solidify. So now my options are.
Speaker: Between Tee Higgins, Devonta Smith, and Zae Flowers, those are the highest rated on the board. I think I'm going to go with... um,
Speaker: Yeah, i' again, I'm i'm heart hard -pressed to take T. Higgins this high. wide receiver two on his team so i'm gonna go with devonta smith yeah I like that. He's a bit too touchdown dependent. From me, T. Higgins.
Speaker: Yeah. thi because i'm um I'm not a fan of, but I do like the Devante Smith pick. I really, really do, actually. I think he's going to have a very nice year. So now I am on the clock. So I got nice tight ends of gone. Actually, I was even looking at the coast and Loveland to be honest with you. That's about over there. That was very nice.
Speaker: So I have to pivot again. I think I'm gonna focus on wide receivers because Again, like Nick said, we do start two y receivers three receivers. I want to get my stack. I'm going to take Zay Flowers as my wide receiver two. to go with my boy Lamar Jackson over there.
Speaker: And... Before we do a quick check -in on round after round five, yeah see how things are going. Exactly. So we're five rounds in. um Glaringly right now, Roger does not have a quarterback.
Speaker: Nope. So, Raj, I guess my first question to you is, like you you I guess your strategy was stars first. I guess, what what has it cost you at quarterback right now? Look, if you look at who which quarterbacks are on the board, Trevor Lawrence is still there. I'm not... I'm not really keen on Jackson Dart. Patrick Mahomes is still there. Bo Nix was a top. 10 fans QB last year. Brock Purdy was 22 points per game at QB last year. pack Matthew Stafford was the QB one last year.
Speaker: There is no rush for me to go QB right now, guys. Once I start seeing that... clear run I'm targeting a QB probably my next two rounds for sure but the way I see it the gap between some of the higher QBs that you know, have been taking like team one.
Speaker: ah that has calb Caleb Williams. he had lower per game tolls than a lot of the guys that are still on the board. So i'm'm I'm not sweating it right now.
Speaker: And I think even with my... my best available strategy. I did go Josh Allen. first, and I'm just letting the ball the board kind of fall to me. in Right now, I have no complaints and no urgency for my second QB with having the um Most likely QB1 here.
Speaker: So just stacking up and trying to fill out the rest of my roster. Yeah, I'm not that much different to be honest with you I'm surprised at the bit of a running back run that happened in the first round It definitely made me pivot a little bit and go for quarterback with the at the top of the second.
Speaker: I was really, honestly, i've been I've been doing a lot of mocks and I've been pretty much expecting to just do like a... running back, wide receiver. Sort of combo there at the round the turn So the fact that I want lamar jackson is a little bit different from what i've been mocking right now But I like the way my team is looking At the moment, it's very well balanced.
Speaker: um And I think I think we can start for round six. yeah So I'm so I had to say flowers at the end of round five. I'm gonna Finish my ride receiver starters.
Speaker: And pick. Wow. boy. Yeah, I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna pick a mech egg buka The turf toe doesn't bother you? It does a little bit, which is why I had a big exhale there. It it does a little bit. It does a little bit. But they um all signs are pointing him being ready for week one.
Speaker: And the upside is very much there with Mike Emmett no longer there anymore. so I'm curious where Nak's going to go here. He could go many different ways. Yeah, so I definitely got sniped here with Montgomery and Swift.
Speaker: ah That would have been my next pick would be to get my... my flex in the running back position. Right now, I think there's just a lot of running backs kind of piled up together that could. you know potentially look the same.
Speaker: And then you've got kind of... The wide receivers too. And then I could really. I could really, really you know, huge strength on my QB and just say, okay.
Speaker: Finish it up now and have really. Two great QBs with a decent roster already.
Speaker: Hmm. What do I do? I think I'm still going to be able to get the guy I want. so Right now with no running back I don't like, I think I'm going to go Trevor Lawrence. Oh, that's a big one. Ooh, a steal apparently as well. yeah I like that. what Yeah, it's a new feature. It's it's nice. on on straight Very cool. I don't know if I was going to go Lawrence there, but. Um...
Speaker: I'm going to go another wide receiver. I told myself. I think you you guys probably know who it is. i i have to come away with him in every draft i'm just enamored No. No, DJ Moore. Not even.
Speaker: No, it's Parker Washington. I have to come away. Dude, that is such a reach. And yeah, super saying it's a reach i'm a lot of reach. A lot of ADPs are saying he's going in the fifth, sixth, or seventh round. so Yeah, that' I've seen that. He's he yeah climbing up up the boards. He's going to play probably 90 % of the snaps, mostly in the slot. He's not going to be the wide receiver that gets out. He's not going to be the wide receiver like that gets out. I mean, i cant I can't say it's horrible because i I definitely love Parker Washington. I just thought, well, So that's a bit...
Speaker: That seems a bit high. yeah and no qb so i guess here is where you get your qb So from a wide receiver perspective, I could still go wide receiver and use my wide receive ah ride receiver as a flex. um The Luther Burton is enticing I have to say um I'm definitely not ready to go QB yet.
Speaker: You were probably going to go QB if you Lawrence was there, though, with Parker Washington. Probably, yes. Probably. For sure. um i'm gonna go wide receiver here i am just debating between Luther Burden and Mike Evans.
Speaker: ah the substation. and Mike Evans, really? Mike Evans is in ah the hamstrings bother me I'm going to go Luther Britton. I want a piece of the the Bears offense. It was so fun to own some some stock in them last year with Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson. The upside on Luther Burden is huge. You getting him in the seventh round is just a no -brainer, in my opinion. Add your wide receiver four. I mean, that's just, it's dumb. Like, yeah. that you You make that all day.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Again, for for me, sorry, and just now before we go, like... This is where I know what my QB limit is. what I'm comfortable at to have at QB. And from looking at the QB board.
Speaker: I don't feel like I am losing anything by... waiting on qb another round so Sorry. nick Yeah, and honestly, in most I feel like in most Superflex or 2QB leagues, I feel like there'd be a little bit more... yeah QBs off the board. but i for the For this mock draft, again, I'm i'm looking at some running backs that...
Speaker: you know may or may not Like they're they're all kind of all similar in this in this area to me. And I think. i knew I thought he was going to be available here for me, and I'm not going to.
Speaker: you know, make it go one more round. I am going to get the stack at my wide receiver three and pick DJ Moore. Nice. Yeah, it's very nice. Nice. It's great value there.
Speaker: Mmm. i was really hoping quinshawn jenkins was going to fall to me it's a lit i was a little bit A little bit hoping. Just because it's it's one of the very few running backs left this late that. that has that entire backfield to themselves. If you because think about it. So from that perspective, I was like, that's I don't know what I was looking for because everybody else So we're just pretty much sharing a backfield.
Speaker: So none of these guys really. jump out to me right now. Even from a wide receiver perspective, there are guys here that I like a bit. So you know what? I think I'm going to go for...
Speaker: The real. Y receiver one. On the Green Bay Packers. I draft Tucker Craft over here. like that but And just to have a little bit of fun.
Speaker: So I have right now, I'm very much secure when it comes to my. My QB1, I have Lamar Jackson. But. I'm going to go with a very, very steadfast QB2.
Speaker: and complete the rest of my stack. I'm going to go dark. Ooh. You called it. It's a nice stack. That's a very nice stack. You talked about it in previous episodes where Goff is disrespected. He's basically a QB5, QB6 every year.
Speaker: Yeah. yeah and i just want to get the stack when it comes with i got two stacks now like you know what let's go yeah res stack on stacks on factless is what's the no This is where I probably would have gone Marvin Harrison.
Speaker: um as my wide receiver four, i kind of really sad to see that he got picked. Two picks before me. If I look at the wide receivers again.
Speaker: besides that then the the board kind of drops for me a little bit i'm not all that interested. I only have two running backs, so I think I'm going to grab another one. And um a guy that I think is...
Speaker: Going to see the majority didn't play in the preseason for a reason. Um... The coach obviously wanted to keep him fresh. And even if Charbonnet comes back, it's going to be a major ramp -up period. before you and Any...
Speaker: Any running back coming back from an ACL is not going to be the same the following year. So I'm going to Jadarian Price. Mmm, you sniped me there. Yeah, this was BPA. very clear bpa my eighth round um i couldn't let him go any further and And the news is finally saying that he will be the starting running back, especially with the Charbonnet news and Holani being more of a backup. so um The next two picks, I will definitely be taking a QB for sure. um
Speaker: Now that you took price, I think I'm gonna go QB now. And...
Speaker: You know, I'm going to bank on Since we're talking about stacks, I'm going to do the the Patrick Mahomes, Rishi Rice stack. Rishi Rice. And bank that he comes back. Very nice. I was debating him and Purdy.
Speaker: Pretty has the rushing upside, but... just i don't think i want to own a ah niner this year Sorry, I just go go at my homes. You're scared of the substation? I'm a bit scared of the substation. I'm a bit scared of all some of the other entries there as well. and The way of the board. So now I'm a bit, I'm a bit. Light on.
Speaker: Running back. I only have two running backs. I have four wide receivers At this stage personally, I'm looking at the running backs. They're all jumbled together. yeah So I don't really feel any urgency to pick a running back here. So I'm definitely going to go QB again. And to me.
Speaker: This is the easy play. It's a bit of a house of cards with this team where one injury could could break things but It's hard not to go with the QB1 of last year. uh matthew star for sure For sure. very nice that's a very honestly and look for everyone watching In this particular mock draft, he waited and then got ended up with Mahomes and Stafford. yeah in a 2QB. So there's definitely worse.
Speaker: combinations to have than Patrick Mahomes and Stafford. yeah But I guess the same thing with you, Roger. I know I just picked my third running back, so I'm i'm doing okay there. i have I have three wide receivers, but again, those... they're all kind of jumbled up in the same here And... um So I think with the news that he did take the plane to Australia. I am going to...
Speaker: Round up my starting lineup and pick Mr. George Kittle. Great value. Great value. Ooh. so what we got over here right now so my my lineup is is full except for my flex spots And typically I like having a wide receiver in my flex Hence.
Speaker: There's a guy over here that really lit the league on fire at some point last year that I think we might be forgetting About and I'm hoping he catches lightning again. I'm gonna go with Michael Wilson here. This one.
Speaker: Yeah. And now to round out. So this is really where like when I get to this point over here. At the draft where my lineup is complete. As much as possible, I like to find... Really higher upside, guys.
Speaker: And this is more like, of ah I guess, of a PSA for... for all of our little listeners you know like you kind of have your lineup set up you're kind of happy with and all that stuff It's okay now to throw some darts. and really look for those guys that are going to be paying off big time towards the end of the season.
Speaker: One of those guys potentially could be Jonathan Brooks. And he just went right there So that's a bit of a reach. I'm aware of that right now, but I have my running back room figured out already. I'm okay. I have my flex spot. I'm okay. Everything in my restaurant lineup is good.
Speaker: Bigger, did you know something? This guy was highly touted. I mean, his rookie season, he got hurt, obviously, didn't play a sophomore season. And he's looking to be the guy who's going to eventually they go over the backfield. He's a stud. from what I understand. so I'll take a chance there.
Speaker: Like it. Hmm. So... I think. I definitely need another wide receiver here. i'm I'm typically like you, Fab. I like to go with the upside.
Speaker: But for the wide receiver four with... Egbuka kind of banged up with the third toe. McMillan also hurt. I think Godwin here in the 10th round. screams value to me. So I'm going to pick Chris Godwin.
Speaker: That's... solid value pick, I would say. you you didn't think courtland sutton there or
Speaker: No, I was not. so So the other digs, I think, was was a bit too high. And the other one I was i was contemplating was Lemon. but Having Devonta Smith, I'm not going to take. Makai Lemon.
Speaker: And I don't know, I think Baker is... is is basically contract year. And if he's really the only healthy. wide receiver there, I think he might get peppered with with targets.
Speaker: Makes sense. So um I'm going to round out to tenth ah the round, and then we're going to pause to check in on our teams. to me this is blake quorum territory especially considering he got about 40 percent tar rushing share over the latter half of the year. And if anything ever happens to Kyron Williams.
Speaker: Fab, I'm going to be... i if you if you come If you come after me on a trade, I'm going to be asking for your house, basically. but We'll talk mid -season. we'll talk So this is this a play quorum for me. So let's let's pause at 10 here. um If we – let's just start with me from my strategy and from my team. I would say, again, I was in the get the skill positions first. I went Gibbs, Bowers, Henry in the first three picks. Then I went –
Speaker: rice mcmillan washington and burden as wide receivers in my next four then i got my qbs at round uh eight and nine and then i'm kind of rounding up my depth now so again in a in a typical super flex to qb draft maybe the quarterback my quarterbacks have been picking picked a little bit before but again if you're gonna go with the stars first a strategy you have to watch the board you have to know what your limits are and based off off those limits of qbs once you start seeing guys above that being picked that's when you need to raise the alarm and say okay
Speaker: it's time for me to at least get one qb there and i kept seeing that the board was going my way so At that point I was able to get a QB later. Nock, what's your team looking like?
Speaker: Now, oddly enough, it's a very colorful board. I don't think I've picked the same position in back -to -back rounds, which is ah kind of weird for for my typical draft. um But no, look, I've got my three. running backs that i'm really really confident in my top three ah wide receivers i think are are pretty solid they're all number ones on their respective teams so that's really what you want from your uh you're you're your first starting WRs.
Speaker: Then I got Kittle pretty late, which I'm pretty happy about and kind of look rounding out the bench here. picked chris godwin could have gone in a little uh in different directions but pretty happy with the how the board has fallen to me so far.
Speaker: How about you, Fab? How do you like your ah team? i we know we We definitely know you love your team, but tell us a little bit more about it. To nobody's surprise, I really like my team. To nobody's surprise. if i If I leave the draft on Monday night with this team, I'll be very happy. I'll be very, very happy with this team. Very fab team. Who's complaining about this roster? like i'm Guys, no offense. i'm
Speaker: Fact like my my my running backs are stacked see what you want about current Williams, but this guy's gonna give you Running back one numbers as an RB2. Kenneth Walker is going to. burnt put put the world on fire.
Speaker: My wide receivers, Amon Rice, Sam Brown, Zay Flowers, and Amuka. Make a booker. Please. Tucker Craft. Please. Were you guys sleeping over here? I know it's a sleeper. It sounds like you're trying to convince yourself. you said nice I was just about to say it. Are you trying to convince yourself about these picks? You sounded down on Zay Flowers. when I was down on Zay Flowers, but I changed my tune a little bit when I realized the type of offensive quarter that's going to be in that offense right now.
Speaker: and he was Good last year. He finishes wide receiver seven. albeit it was a weird wide receiver seven, but the guy still produced. We all know how good a booker could be. Michael Wilson, to be honest, is my only question mark. I don't know how that offense is going to play out, but I'm still banking a little bit on the upside from that perspective.
Speaker: but the rest of my team i think is pretty well rounded and again you know like i started off unexpectedly drafting a quarterback at the top of the second. because I was expecting quarterbacks to have a bit of a run. And Lamar Jackson being there.
Speaker: is a bit of an anomaly. And if you're drafting in a two quarterback league and you're drafting at the turn. And Lamar Jackson is there. Unless you're staring at like. Jamar chase and.
Speaker: And josh allen like you gotta you gotta pick up your stars when you see them, yeah you know And that's just one of those scenarios. I you pivot a little bit as much as you can but you know then you let the draft come to you so i've been pretty Pretty happy so far. I did have a reach. For Jonathan Brooks, but I feel like that's going to pay off too. Yeah, I mean, at 10.
Speaker: I think it's a hype side. Before I make my pick, I'm just... team six team six if you if if anyone's watching on video uh they have Six running backs. Jonathan Taylor, Devon H. in the first two rounds, then Jeremiah Love, Scottie Booth, Marvin Harrison, Scottie Booth. The thing is, what I want to point out there is that they were able to still get Sam Darnold in the 10th round, which, again, it kind of leads to the fact that you can wait, right? We talked about you.
Speaker: Fab, your quotes were... you know would anyone really be be mad about having sam donald not just as your QB1 is a little bit high, but as a QB2, that's more than fine. so Absolutely.
Speaker: ah yeah If we could quick shout out to 17, seven, eight, nine. Those three teams are all very stacked. All very, very stuck. like The computer's doing a very good job there.
Speaker: um So ah back to my team. So I'm on i'm on round 11. I'm going to go with QB here. I'm going to make some... kind of some some swings here i'm gonna go with malik willis i'm I'm liking what I'm seeing in camp, and I think the restroom rushing upside, if... if If that hits, man, that's trade bait or... potential QB2 there.
Speaker: Wow, I like it. I like it. Very. Very unraged view. Yeah. um I'm going to keep the party going here. with I'm going to keep the board colourful. I'm not going wide receiver, so it's going to be, again, non -back -to -back pick. But this guy could be a potential league winner depending on what happens to...
Speaker: um ah Bucky Irving. I'm going to pick Kenneth Gainwell in the 11th round. Another back -to -back on the Bucks picks, but... Yeah. If... Bucky Irving goes down. We saw what kenneth Kenneth Gainwell did last year in a starter role. A couple 30 -point weeks as well mixed into there. so Um,
Speaker: as my cute As my running back four, I... Very happy with that. No. I like that call. um So I'm actually getting a little bit concerned about the quarterbacks that are remaining for my quarterback three.
Speaker: So this is not what I was going to be going for right now, but Roger sort of really pushed my hand and realizing that. Guys like sam donald and now malik willis are gone I'm going to go with Tyler Shuck. here.
Speaker: Just to round out my quarterback room. And have. my quarterback three be a guy that i can fill in as my quarterback two spot whenever i need him to Um, Just to really make me help me sleep a little bit better at night.
Speaker: And for my wide receiver room. I want to be going with Alec Pierce. I know he's a little bit questionable right now. But they paid the guy. Yeah, I'm not liking that pick. As my wide receiver.
Speaker: as my wide receiver five. That's not my y receiver. Fine. Well, Jaden Reed. That is. insane value in the 12th round for Jaden Reed, I find.
Speaker: um he could be He could see a lot of targets in that in that office. I think that's pretty good. Yeah. he could i think i think if they play two high receiver sets he's gonna be the odd man out From what I'm i'm reading, it sounds like it's going to be Watson and Golden in two wide receiver sets. Rita will be more of the gimmick guy, but...

Speaker: Now, where do I, okay, so. I probably want another wide receiver here. and I think it's between two guys. Right now.
Speaker: And I think I'm just going to go with the higher upside here. and um Take Mr. Casey Concepcion. Oh. Love that pick. Hate the quarterback room, but love the pick Yeah, it's someone who could potentially pop off. And obviously, ass as my fifth wide receiver, there's there's not really any hurt there.
Speaker: Yeah. Um... this is a tough spot i feel like i need another running back because i only have three I am going to go with... Um... Ugh, this is really...
Speaker: I really wanted Jordan Mason because I think he's probably the last running back of the the current group that could probably be a starter. I'm going to go with Chris Rodriguez. i already have there's calling the reach i already have a jacksonville jaguar I'm only going to go with Chris Rodriguez because he played under Liam Cohen. in Kentucky.
Speaker: And Korn made it a point to get him. so i'm i don't think the visual tooting thing is a complete lock um so i i think maybe rodriguez could get some some goal line work.
Speaker: So now I could either fortify my QB4.
Speaker: Or I could start looking at defense. I think it's a little... a little too early for defense i would rather 45 my qb4 And I'm going to go with the last quarterback, the last starting quarterback that could have some upside in CJ Stroud here.
Speaker: Interesting. Um... So here I could maybe get a backup. tight end if i really want to but I don't really want to I've got five wide receivers already.
Speaker: Four running backs. I could go with the... The QB3 is looking very, very... bleak as the rounds go on. but i think I want to go. with Seeing as my QBs are...
Speaker: Alan and Lawrence, this is really going to be, this QB3 for me is really going to be. for buys. I think I'm going to go with another upside pick here. who could potentially turn into the WR1 by season's end.

Speaker: One of the things that I kind of came away. in pre -draft uh period this offseason is I want to try to get a ah tight end that it has a really laid by. Uh... Because to your point, I don't want to have to worry about a backup tight end. In your case...
Speaker: Yeah. Kittle is his bias. By week eight. a bit early, and he might not play week one. So that's something like for whoever's for listeners out there like if you could find a really good tight end and they're Bowers is week 14. Trey McBride is week 13. You're not going to have to worry about rostering that back backup tight end anytime soon. so just something they make no For for kettle.
Speaker: There's no way he was taking a 18 -hour plane ride if he wasn't playing. uh they were saying today like he's more likely than not to play and like i said why would you take him in an uncomfortable plane for 18 hours. Well, uncomfortable plane. I know that they're probably not uncomfortable per se, but...
Speaker: you know sitting down like that for 18 hours is not really good for any kind of injury. Crazy remembering them. Yeah, insane. yeah Wow, look at the run on wide receivers. Yeah.
Speaker: savon digs was a nice one that's one i was looking at right now i think he's gonna get a lot of ppr value in that offense um because that offensive line is not good at all so you think gene downs will be running for his life at some point So, yeah, so wide receiver room got a little bit. thinner for what's available.
Speaker: Nobody really is standing out that I really want to put my finger on right now. Um, Running back room though, there are still some opportunities here. One in particular.
Speaker: Zach Charbonnet. which although starting on the pub this is scenario where you grab a guy later on in the draft You put them in an IR spot. and then automatically you pick up another guy off waivers and i just wait to see how things roll out. I hate your love your your last two picks.
Speaker: Zach Charbonnet, Alec Pierce. Yeah. Okay, yeah, not not my favorite either. if I'm being honest. It's okay, guys. yeah i'll be I'll be just winning. the league. like There's no way no one else gets injured before Charbonnet comes back yeah you get it and actually produces.
Speaker: You're going to need that IR spot. You're going to need that IR spot for sure. Yeah, he's not back for at least for four weeks. Hey, man, it's it's it's wishful thinking. All right. You got to hope before it happens sometimes.
Speaker: And. For a wide receiver, you know something? Let's see what the sophomore season has in store. I like that. There you go. you how one Okay, there you go. you You redeemed yourself. You definitely redeemed yourself.
Speaker: oh In the defense So here... Here is, yeah, well, yeah, I don't know. it's alive You did. You definitely redeemed yourself. Coming from a guy who drafted DC Conception and thinking it's going to hit.
Speaker: I need. ah Look, it's WR1 on the team. like he who's Who's Jerry Judy? On what team? ah ah the birth team is that What team is that? Doesn't matter. Stack up the wide receiver ones and 12th round.
Speaker: Why don't you draft Shadur as your quarterback three? You've got a nice stack over there. You want to do that? You want to draft Shadur as your quarterback three for a nice stack? I am going to... This guy was decent down the stretch, and I think he's bound to have a better sophomore season. As my QB3, I'm going to take Cam Ward.
Speaker: I hate that pick. i'm I'm so out on Cam Ward. I mean, at this point, it's what... You're his biggest advocate. Yeah, I know. You hate that pick because you're out on him. I'm not liking what I've heard and seen about Cam Ward. It's a good pick. It's a good pick, look, yeah, at that stage. For that late, it's a good pick.
Speaker: I maybe would have taken Bryce Young there, but... The defenses are starting to go, and I think I'm set at QB.
Speaker: You have four quarterbacks. Yeah. Of course you're setting QB. at the running but can i can it can i go Thank you. At the running back position. At the running back? Um...
Speaker: there's mike washington or there's jonah coleman we obviously know jk dom's gonna get injured We obviously know Ashen Gentee is already injured. Jonah Coleman has... had rave reviews in camp.
Speaker: Sean Payton has really liked him. Mike Washington has had some crazy runs. as well. I am going to go with... mike washington here because he is the backup running back whereas jonah coleman staff or serp Archie Harvey.
Speaker: So that's in the 14th round. And in the 15th round...
Speaker: In the 15th round, I think they're raving about this guy Washington Yeah. Had a really good preseason. Yeah, definitely Um,
Speaker: There's been some talk about Cyrus Allen. If I if i wanted to get another wide receiver, Cyrus Allen, the rookie out of KC. Yeah. I think I'm done at wide receiver. I think I'm going to go with the defense. and I'm going to go with the one of the best defenses in the league last year.
Speaker: Seattle Seahawks. yeah that was gonna be
Speaker: ah Yeah, for me, look, i have my roster's rounded out. I'm missing a kicker and a defense. so Most likely going to go defense here. um Hmm.
Speaker: Here, let's just pick these guys. of course That's a surprise. The Pittsburgh Steelers. that's That's a shocker. well the The Seahawks or the Rams would have been my my go -to. Even the Texans was a nice one.
Speaker: vinkings text not really It's just like, yeah honestly, all these defenses are pretty much the same now coming off the board. if i' So I'm... I'm on the turn right now. So it's gonna be a defense and a kicker spot for me I like to pick my kickers and tear them to good offenses Ideally ones that even play in a dome.
Speaker: So we're going to take. Jake. baits over here detroit kicker which is also adds to a stack of a stack that i have with my I'm on Ross St. Brown and and Jared Goff.
Speaker: And for defense, honestly, it's going to be the best one available right now. ah Ravens. I would like to take the Patriots, but I don't know what's going on. Christian Gonzalez, to be honest with you. So I'm just going to go with the Ravens.
Speaker: watch the defenses And there's my teams.
Speaker: Yeah, so here I could you could either Strategy would be either go. um Go with the kicker or... Try to find a player who's on IR and then...
Speaker: Uh, pick up a kicker added. but a different time. There's not really much out there that I, well, look, this is this is actually who I'm going to pick. He should not have been here this long, but since he is there.
Speaker: I'm going to take him and then figure out my kicker after. Ah, I knew it. I knew it was Marshall Lloyd. I knew it. I saw it. I was hoping you wouldn't. um Yeah, I saw that. I'm with Knack.
Speaker: Nope, no need to take a kicker at this spot. Like, just... pick up a skill especially us we're keep we're going on like the last of the kickers like all the kickers have gone in this in this area like what's the point yeah it's I'm going to go Jonah Coleman since he was still there. Kickers are people too, guys. Kickers are people. You're going to end up dropping one of those guys anyways.
Speaker: Like, you know. Jonah Comis. but No. Switch. to week one. week one it's like you me and roger have been advocates of of losing the kicker in this league for a few years and now and you could tell that yeah fab really loves his kickers Kickers are people too, man. Kickers are people too. You kick you pick the right kicker and you're getting 15 points a week.
Speaker: Most boring position. so i i'm pretty happy with my team i i think i have I don't have a bona fide WR1 if you look at last year's numbers, although Rishi Rice was pretty much a 19 point per game player.
Speaker: But I'm very happy with my wide receiver room. My running backs are fantastic. and I think I got really good value at at at quarterback. Nak, how are you feeling about your team at four?
Speaker: Yeah, honestly, i I definitely like it. As I said before, I've got like now two studs at QB. Trevor Lawrence ended up falling to me. um My running backs, i'm I'm very, very happy with. Omari Hampton should have a ah very good year. Javante Williams, as I mentioned. There's nothing behind him.
Speaker: And then all three bonafide WR1s rounded off with George Kittle at the tight end, Price as my flex, and then... you know. some some wishful thinking, I guess, on the on the bench, hopefully for some some some big swings, with conception and scribbling, hopefully. It it pays off, but.
Speaker: Other than that, I think it's pretty well -rounded.
Speaker: The only thing I may have changed was potentially my Chris Godwin pick. Oh yeah, I would have said your Kittle pick. I think that's not only high. I'm I'm dubious on him playing a full season like six months after ah an Achilles.
Speaker: But if if he does play, it'ss he's a freak of nature, this guy. For sure. kit and thats is why why was cost it' Get on the ninth round. You could do worse. You could do a lot worse and get on the ninth round, though.
Speaker: Like that pays off that that's league winner Yeah. For sure. Yeah, I could have gone even like, again, up with instead of the Godwin, could have gone like the Stevenson or even a a Tony Pollard actually there. uh rather than a godwin because as you as I saw later, like conception and scribbling. I'd rather.
Speaker: Like Godwin now doesn't really make sense in that in that spot. So that's the only thing I'd really change. If I could just interject quickly about my team. it's very rare i'm in a position where i have like a bona fide top two tight end and i was talking about how i don't have a a bona fide wr1 i have brock bowers So it's like, it makes a huge difference when you have ah an elite tight end, you can maybe.
Speaker: shave a little a little bit off your wr1s and wait for wr2s and get some value there you You picked your tight end at the best spot at the end of round two. exactly Because you you're turning a right away after, so you're not you're not losing anything. But the guy behind you who's at the turn, team one, can easily pick Brock Bowers because he might have the same idea as you. So that's a very good spot to get an elite tight end. yes i think you did a very good I think that's probably your best pick your entire draft.
Speaker: Thank you.
Speaker: Whereas my best pick of my entire draft was picking Alec Pearson the 12th round. Clearly. Clearly. And then Zach Charbonnet and the 13th put him right on the pup list. No, but for real, the the rest of. I'm very happy actually with my QB room, if I could be honest for a second. um I love the fact that I have.
Speaker: a potential QB one in Lamar Jackson, a potential top. 5QB and Jared Goff. And then a very, very solid QB three and Tyler Shuck at a spot where you can. CEQB3 is dwindling there.
Speaker: And then. a scenario like for example knack you have to settle with cam ward which i know isn't the worst scenario to do, but you probably would be. prefer to have another QB3 as opposed to count more. So something like that is something to keep an eye on when you're drafting.
Speaker: The quarterback three position. So important. and something that you definitely can. ah Forget about it or take for granted. And you have to keep an eye on the quarterback positions. when the runs take place. But apart from that, the rest of my team.
Speaker: Um, I like my wide receiver depth I like my running back depth. And I love the fact that like this is never going to happen in real life where I'm going to have two stacks. but if it does that's great you know what i mean so i think all in all we're all pretty consistent and pretty happy with. with the way that the draft turned out.
Speaker: Um, I'm pretty sure like, you know, the We can talk about which strategy works best. And after seeing all three builds, you know, which draft position would you actually want at the end? Would you want to have 102, 104 or 110?
Speaker: Firstly, I'm very excited. to drive After the 110 spot. Hasn't happened before. it's gonna be one one one One type of draft that I've never had to do before the 10th spot. It's gonna be very nice to do to to deal with
Speaker: But that's really, I get. Sorry, go ahead. Yeah, I like the... I think you and Nak are like wait and see. You're just, you're chilling. Whereas like I find my spot in the second, there's a lot of pressure. Like I have pressure to, you know. go with Allen and have pressure to like what I do with Gibbs, even Jamar chase would have been an option. But you guys, you really have the ability to let the draft dictate what you want to do.
Speaker: um so Yeah, because I think in in most drafts. like especially Superflex or 2QB. The top four here are pretty much interchangeable. These are probably going to be the top. for pics taken in in a lot of drafts. I would i would be as confident to say as 90 % of drafts, this would be the first four taken in Superflex and 2QB.
Speaker: So. Like you said. you just got to be the wait and see approach and the one that falls is the one you pick Yeah. For sure.
Speaker: Right, so I guess after seeing all three your builds, which draft position would you actually suit? Are we are you comfortable? Like the 104, 102s, the 110s? Is that where we would want to stick? if If we were allowed to change, would you change your spot, Roger, out of 102 and go somewhere else?
Speaker: No. No, because... ah I. once Once I got that... that position I knew that. I wanted to build off the stars first.
Speaker: strategy I want it to be a bit more in control. versus, I think last year I was in the fourth position and I took Borough. Hmm. right So I was able to see the QB, QB, QB. I was like, okay, well.
Speaker: Yeah. And I knew ahead of time I wanted to go i wanted it a I feel like a lot of a lot of your your drafting strategy depends on what happened the previous year. Like the previous year, I made the finals.
Speaker: It's recency bias. yes Yeah, and and my quarterbacks were, I think, like... Gino Smith and CJ Stroud. and i was playing you know quarterback musical chairs with my qb1 qb2 and qb3 so i said okay next year last year i wanted i want to set and forget it and that didn't work out with burrow Now, this year.
Speaker: seeing how the depth that qb is so high i knew i wanted the the stars for a strategy I got it. Max, same thing with you. Your 104 spot, would you switch out of your spot or do you like that what that is?
Speaker: Well, I think it's perfect because, again, essentially it just gives me a chance to just pick the the best player available when the three are gone. Because with the top four here, you really can't go wrong with either player, in in in my opinion.
Speaker: If I land an Allen, if I land Chase, Gibbs, or Robinson, I'm going to be incredibly happy leaving the first round with... either four of those players. and in a good position coming back on the turn. so and I definitely wouldn't wouldn't switch. switch positions here maybe Like if if I really had to gun to my head.
Speaker: I really do think this is the year to pick from that 10th spot. I really like. the the 10th spot this year because you get really good value. and Picking back the back here is... ah You can start your draft off really, really.
Speaker: really well with two bonafide stars. Yeah, i'm I'm actually picking at the 10 spot. in a few drafts. I think in another draft, they're picking up the 10th spot in a 12 -team league, so its's it's similar. you know You're picking it towards the end, and usually...
Speaker: i'd be I'd be a big advocate on picking right in the middle. I like the fact of only waiting about 10 picks or 11 picks every time you you you take your you take your player. But this year is different. i'm I'm really excited to pick at the 10.
Speaker: I'm really, really excited to pick up the 10 and you can see the type of team that you can come out with, which is. by all accounts, a pretty decent team. so So I guess really that's the point of all this, you know, like the strategy that gives you somewhere to start. It doesn't mean that you blindly follow it for the entire draft. I mean, we all pivoted at some point.
