Speaker: But I do want to start with an intro for you.
Speaker: Who am I?
Speaker: Who's Brie?
Speaker: Such a deep question.
Speaker: I, okay, so obviously Brie is different than Cass.
Speaker: Cass is normally the co-host of this, but she is on summer break.
Speaker: So I have asked my dear friend Brie and I am
Speaker: I met Bree at a yoga teacher training at Yoga Oasis in Tucson, Arizona, and –
Speaker: I was 24, I think, at the time because we were doing our 200 RYT.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: We did our 300 as well.
Speaker: And then we both have taught at Yoga Oasis.
Speaker: And we really leaned on each other for the first yoga hour teacher training because there was a lot that we had to memorize.
Speaker: It's different than it is nowadays.
Speaker: But we were like paired up quite a bit.
Speaker: And then I think we also just started to gravitate towards one another for group training.
Speaker: things.
Speaker: That's how I remember it.
Speaker: But I was actually thinking about this today and you, I think, are one of the only people.
Speaker: Yeah, I think you're one of the only people that knew me when I felt like I was a lot and was pretty kind of, I don't know, just unhinged.
Speaker: I was – I just kind of – I look at myself now and I think I was a bit unbearable and I don't mean that in a mean way.
Speaker: But I just think if I met someone like me, like younger me today, I might be like, oh, it's a no for me.
Speaker: Like I don't really want to – Now, I also hold a lot of love and space for who I was.
Speaker: But I – Yeah, I think you might be one of the only people in my life who like really knew me
Speaker: before yoga and then as of today, as intimately as you do?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I definitely don't think unbearable is the right word.
Speaker: But I know what you're talking about because there is a very large difference between that Dani and this Dani.
Speaker: And I would say it was more so like you had so much confidence, not that you don't now, but it was different.
Speaker: It was like
Speaker: I don't want to say like a loud way because it wasn't, but it was like, Hey, I'm Danny.
Speaker: This is what I'm doing.
Speaker: And that's it.
Speaker: Like, you know, when we started the yoga teacher training and I had taken a 200 hour before the one we did together.
Speaker: And so, and you were like, yeah, I teach yoga in the park to like 20 or 30 people for free, like no big deal.
Speaker: And I was like, what?
Speaker: I am still terrified and I've already done 200 hours of this.
Speaker: Like that's crazy.
Speaker: And can we be friends?
Speaker: Because let me have some of that energy.
Speaker: And yeah, I think it was just, it was maybe like,
Speaker: Maybe the energy wasn't like siphoned in a way that it is now.
Speaker: You know, I think it was just like, like, I don't even think all over the place is the right word either.
Speaker: But it was very much like, like you knew when you walked in the room and you still do.
Speaker: It's just, it's just, it's different.
Speaker: You know, like the energy was very different and not, not a bad way.
Speaker: I mean, we love, we love all versions of Danny.
Speaker: And I think, I mean, I know we've talked with Darren, who's,
Speaker: you know, one of Danny and I's mentors who owns the yoga studio and taught all the teacher trainings that we did.
Speaker: And he was the one that I think, at least since, you know, conversations that we've had, that was like a catalyst for being like, it's not the Danny show all the time.
Speaker: Like, and now I know now he's horrified that he said these things to you, like, like 10 years ago.
Speaker: But it's like,
Speaker: And I remember, I mean, we've talked about this so many times where like I was there for some of those conversations with Darren when Darren was just like, listen, this is the work that you have to do.
Speaker: And I remember me being like, oh, shit, like Danny's, this is crazy.
Speaker: And it was powerful for me too to witness that and to see like how much growth that you've done as a person has just been so beautiful.
Speaker: And I'm so glad I've been here for so many years to see it.
Speaker: Oh, sweet.
Speaker: Thank you so much.
Speaker: No, but I, yeah, I, I really appreciate it.
Speaker: First of all, I thought you said it very kindly.
Speaker: You're like, not loud, not this, not that.
Speaker: But like I do, I, when you said siphoned that the energy hadn't been siphoned in that way or like that, like I hadn't really been, I just, I remember Darren giving this example of a horse that has, that's wild and a horse that's been tamed and
Speaker: and how structure can help hone in on talents and gifts and somebody's potential.
Speaker: Because otherwise it's just kind of like unbridled and- Like chaos.
Speaker: Yeah, exactly, exactly.
Speaker: And I kind of think about it like a forest fire versus a controlled fire.
Speaker: And I think forest fires are natural and it happens in nature.
Speaker: It's supposed to happen.
Speaker: But I do think about when there's a forest fire, it's burning just everything in its path.
Speaker: And a controlled fire is burning what it needs to burn away.
Speaker: And I think about that with like who I was before felt a lot like a wildfire.
Speaker: And then who I am now feels very much like a controlled fire.
Speaker: So what Bree's talking about previously, when we were in our teacher training...
Speaker: Well, yeah, there were times in the teacher trainings, but there was also a time when Bree and I were observing a teacher training because that was something that was necessary if we wanted to potentially be the teachers of a teacher training in the future.
Speaker: And I just thought it was...
Speaker: I remember – it's so embarrassing, but I remember the students being in the class, Sam and Darren, giving introductions and you and I off to the side.
Speaker: And I wanted to be introduced as like them.
Speaker: I wanted to be introduced at the level of Darren and Sam.
Speaker: And
Speaker: It's a lot to unpack there because it's too much context that I can't really provide in a short amount of time.
Speaker: But I am not at Darren and Sam's level at all.
Speaker: And they gave us an opportunity, I think, to just introduce ourselves.
Speaker: And I was like, yeah, we've been through this.
Speaker: If you guys are struggling with this, that, or whatever, come to us.
Speaker: We can help.
Speaker: And it was not from a place of wanting to help.
Speaker: It was from a place of wanting to show them that I knew more than them.
Speaker: And that was the whole thing about like the Danny show that Darren had discussed.
Speaker: And I've, I've mentioned this, I think a couple of times on the podcast, I've mentioned Darren definitely on the podcast and how he's my mentor, but also when he came up to me and said, you're lucky that I'm so patient with you.
Speaker: And I think that that can rub people the wrong way sometimes because it, it,
Speaker: Might not have all the context backing it up, but that was really necessary for me.
Speaker: And I absolutely agree that I was very fortunate that he was as patient with me, like truly.
Speaker: But Brie was there for these situations where I basically –
Speaker: stepped way out of bounds and Darren was like, I will put you right back in.
Speaker: And it was really uncomfortable for me.
Speaker: And then Bree just got like a front row show.
Speaker: I mean, it was nice to, I mean, at least to like be able to hold space for you, you know, and at that time, I think, you know, that was...
Speaker: Gosh, how many years ago was it?
Speaker: 10 at least-ish?
Speaker: Well, the 200 was when I was 24.
Speaker: So that was 11 coming up on almost 12 years.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: That's crazy.
Speaker: But I feel like it was nice for me to just be able to sit with you after that.
Speaker: Because one, I mean, that was very jarring for me too.
Speaker: Because I was very much the opposite.
Speaker: Where I was like, oh, I need to stay in line.
Speaker: I'm not going to do anything crazy.
Speaker: I have to be really responsible.
Speaker: not do anything wrong I don't want to get in trouble you know obviously that's like my own shit to unpack which I've worked worked on and so to see that like my heart went out for you so much where I was like oh man because at the same time I'm like how great that she's able to like be herself and do this and say this and like also at the same time like oh I'm like I hurt for her because like if that were me having the stern talking to I would for sure just cry yeah
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Oh, and I did.
Speaker: I did.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And so to like be there, I mean, it was very, I mean, cause I still remember all of those things very vividly in my mind too.
Speaker: And so I think it was still like helpful for me to be like, okay, I can hold space for Danny going through this and see what this is like bringing up in me where it's like, oh, I'm also affected by it too.
Speaker: Granted, not like the same level, I'm sure.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: But yeah, it was a learning, a development experience for us young 20-year-olds at the time.
Speaker: Yes, it was.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And what's cool about it too is like, well, first of all, when you're talking about how you were able to
Speaker: empathize with me.
Speaker: That is, I think, so relevant to the work that you do now because I could have seen, especially young 20-something-year-olds, I could see there being a lot of judgment, a lot of like, ooh, that was really hard to watch and that was really embarrassing for you.
Speaker: And that wasn't what you felt.
Speaker: You felt like a bit like kindred, like kind of like, oh, hey, like my fellow human.
Speaker: You know, like, hey, are you OK?
Speaker: Are you OK?
Speaker: Because I'm not OK.
Speaker: And it's like I we've talked to Darren about this, about how these types of moments don't happen in the teacher trainings that are offered nowadays.
Speaker: And I think there's such a – to me, that felt so sad because I do think that there is an overcorrection somewhat happening where not enough safe spaces were created and now it's like too safe of spaces are created that you can't experience some grit and you can't experience some struggle and some –
Speaker: some harsh reality.
Speaker: And that, but that was, that really was instrumental.
Speaker: These moments with Darren were really instrumental in me becoming who I am today and who I am today.
Speaker: I love so much.
Speaker: And I don't think I would have, I think I would have had a very messy, very chaotic, very confusing life if I had not taken the teacher training.
Speaker: And if Darren hadn't
Speaker: seen these things in me, like, oh, we could, that could be adjusted for your benefit.
Speaker: And I don't know.
Speaker: I just think like, it almost feels like nowadays that those types of moments aren't something that are offered as often because of this fear of being canceled or this fear of being too strict and then being ostracized.
Speaker: Or I don't know.
Speaker: It just, I'm like, I think that kind of
Speaker: sternness or that type of tough love deserves space in my life for sure.
Speaker: Yeah, I totally agree with that.
Speaker: And I think the tough love is really important because it can just force us to see things that we don't want to look at or haven't looked at or have a blind spot to.
Speaker: And I know even for me, when stuff like that has happened where somebody's like, hey, what about this?
Speaker: And I'm like, oh, yeah, you're right.
Speaker: Thank you so much for pointing that out.
Speaker: And
Speaker: And I think that the activation is sometimes required to make a shift and to make a change because like,
Speaker: you know, if the gentleness was there about like, oh yeah, Danny, keep doing what you're doing.
Speaker: And then, you know, like you said, if you didn't have some of that tough love, your life wouldn't have been as like shifted in this way that it is now, or at least, you know, maybe it would have taken something else.
Speaker: And so that's like what I'm really interested in, especially with like the breath work and stuff, because it forces you to like, look at the stuff that you don't want to look at.
Speaker: And that's
Speaker: that to me is so huge on this healing journey is to like really go through the shit, like to feel it.
Speaker: And then, you know, to take that tough love, to take that hard stuff and do something with it.
Speaker: And so, yeah, I mean, especially cause Darren even said like, Oh, I would never would have said that in a teacher training to somebody now.
Speaker: And, and we talked to him about it too.
Speaker: Like, yeah, we totally can see that.
Speaker: Like, yeah, that was probably really abrasive.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: back then and it was so powerful so yeah I think it's just it's a balance and yeah I think you know finding that space to make the spaces safer where some of that tough love can still be implemented in a loving way is super powerful so hopefully we can yeah
Speaker: figure out how to make that work out.
Speaker: Bridge the two.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I think that bleeds really well into your work.
Speaker: And I have my little notes of all of my questions I have to ask you, but I do definitely want to start with, I do want to start with like, what, if you do have a title that you, you know, you go by, I'd love to know that.
Speaker: And then also what services you offer.
Speaker: Great question.
Speaker: Um,
Speaker: Has an existential crisis right now.
Speaker: What's my title?
Speaker: I think I'm still kind of figuring that out.
Speaker: I think an all-encompassing sort of title is like an energy worker.
Speaker: And so that kind of includes, you know, the breath work that I teach, which is more like transformational breath work where you're like going through, you're breathing fast, you're breathing hard, you're breathing deep, and it can take you into more of like psychedelic like situation experience kind of where these things are coming up for you.
Speaker: And so that's more of like a transformational breath work style where you're moving energy, you're feeling through it.
Speaker: And so that with, you know, the Reiki and
Speaker: energy work that I do is, you know, very similar.
Speaker: And so, and I'm still learning like different modalities with energy healing too.
Speaker: And so, you know, I teach yoga.
Speaker: I've done that for a really long time.
Speaker: And I mean, I've done a bunch of other like random trainings, like a neuro-linguistic programming course.
Speaker: So that's like mindset sort of stuff.
Speaker: And then did a health coach program.
Speaker: So it's like very all encompassing.
Speaker: So I think
Speaker: I think energy worker is good because I also don't necessarily want to call myself like an energy healer because I feel like you are your own healer.
Speaker: Like I'm, I'm not the healer.
Speaker: I'm just here facilitating, um,
Speaker: a journey, facilitating an experience, helping you work through energy.
Speaker: And so I think what can happen is when people see you as the healer, it's like, oh, you have to be the one to fix me.
Speaker: And for me, I'm like, no, no, I'm just here to hold space, to be the guide.
Speaker: And it's not actually me that's doing the healing work.
Speaker: It's you and your body's innate intelligence.
Speaker: working through this stuff.
Speaker: So I think to make a long answer short, energy worker right now feels the most aligned.
Speaker: Yeah, I would agree with that too.
Speaker: I mean, not that that really matters because I'm not in your profession whatsoever.
Speaker: You're like, yes, that's correct.
Speaker: No, but I think that's a really good indicator too of like energy worker, not energy healer.
Speaker: And I really like your note about how it's more so empowering others to be their own healer
Speaker: not necessarily always looking to you or always looking to an external source.
Speaker: And a lot of the books that I read do have some sort of affiliation with leadership.
Speaker: And you can kind of tie it back to leadership.
Speaker: And one of the things that's been sticking out in a few books to me is
Speaker: Instead of it being like, okay, I'm this high up leader and I know better and I'm going to tell you how to do things.
Speaker: It's more of like, what can I do to best assist you?
Speaker: What can I do to best help you?
Speaker: I am at your service basically.
Speaker: That's the message.
Speaker: And that really resonates with me because that's how I feel as a leader.
Speaker: I don't want to be up looking down saying, do this better.
Speaker: I want to be on the same level and asking like, how can I help?
Speaker: And so when you talked about that where it's like you are a work energy worker instead of healer, those, yeah, those are two different things.
Speaker: And I think that's such a selflessness that I really admire in people's work that when they're like, I'm, I'm here to be of service.
Speaker: That's a really, really special and precious thing.
Speaker: And I feel that way too.
Speaker: When, when I get to,
Speaker: have sessions with you.
Speaker: And for context, for those listening, I literally had a Reiki session with Rupri before we started the podcast.
Speaker: And after a session, usually there's like a – at least for us, there's usually like a debriefing of what was felt and all that kind of stuff.
Speaker: And when the session was over, I said, okay, there's so much that I want to talk about, what I want to talk about on the podcast.
Speaker: And Brie, at some point you said something like, it's going to be authentic.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: We'll save the debrief.
Speaker: I was like, yeah, I know it will be.
Speaker: But yeah, I wanted to, I wanted to dive into the debriefing of the session.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Let's do it.
Speaker: Do you want me to go first?
Speaker: I'll go first and we can see.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I'd love for you to go first.
Speaker: So Reiki is this universal healing energy.
Speaker: And so when you learn Reiki, you get attuned to be able to like receive this kind of energy and the energy works through you.
Speaker: So it's like almost like I'm a channel for this energy to come down from the universe through me, through my hands and then into you.
Speaker: And yeah,
Speaker: The Reiki energy has its own sort of intelligence where it'll go where it needs to go.
Speaker: And it's just this beautiful healing energy that runs through.
Speaker: And so it can be like sessions can be all over the place.
Speaker: It can be like mild.
Speaker: You might feel some energy tingling.
Speaker: You might feel nothing.
Speaker: It might just be relaxing.
Speaker: You might cry.
Speaker: You might have something you need to work through.
Speaker: It can really be...
Speaker: Every session is different.
Speaker: And so how I do it is, you know, when I start, I'll use a pendulum.
Speaker: We'll do like a meditation first, kind of get into it.
Speaker: And then I'll use a pendulum over each of the seven chakras to see where the energy might be blocked, not flowing.
Speaker: I think you talked about this on your podcast a little bit.
Speaker: And so I kind of see which way the pendulum is moving, how it's moving to see if there's like a blockage or not.
Speaker: And then I'll kind of feel with my hands where the energy is moving, not moving, and then kind of go from there.
Speaker: That's kind of how it works if you're like, what?
Speaker: I don't even know what you're talking about.
Speaker: And then I just use my hands to kind of send the energy through to work through some of these blockages or whatever I'm finding.
Speaker: And then the chakras, so each one's related to just a different aspect of well-being.
Speaker: And so then I can kind of see maybe what's going on by like, oh, hey, your throat chakra is blocked.
Speaker: So is there something maybe you're having trouble with speaking out loud?
Speaker: maybe connecting to your truth or what's coming through.
Speaker: So that's just kind of an example of one of the shock today.
Speaker: What I was noticing.
Speaker: So what was coming up for me with Danny?
Speaker: And I wanted to ask you initially,
Speaker: If there was something going on in your heart, like if there if you were feeling like some sort of, I don't know, like blockage or just like what's what's going on, what's going on in your heart area?
Speaker: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker: What I think you picked up on was my stubbornness.
Speaker: That is what I was feeling.
Speaker: It's like I talked to Cass about this, about how it's hard to let go, I guess, or not control something.
Speaker: And so I feel like I'm trying to make myself as tempered down of a person when I see you.
Speaker: Like I'm trying to make myself –
Speaker: palatable, perfect, healed.
Speaker: And I know that that's just, it's folly.
Speaker: Like that's not going to, and I like that.
Speaker: I like the realness of this kind of work and how genuine and authentic it is.
Speaker: And so I was like, okay, I
Speaker: I think I can like cheat the system or something.
Speaker: Like I think if I – I think I can.
Speaker: And then I noticed you came back to my heart area on multiple times.
Speaker: And when you did, I was like, go away.
Speaker: Like stop coming back here.
Speaker: Like truly, I was like – Yeah.
Speaker: Stop coming here.
Speaker: And I was like – It was two parts of me that were in my head because I was like –
Speaker: let her in.
Speaker: Let this happen.
Speaker: Then the other part was like, no.
Speaker: Can't you tell that I'm healed here?
Speaker: Aren't I doing things perfectly so that you're not going to sense anything?
Speaker: That's seriously what's going on.
Speaker: I'm healed.
Speaker: It's fine.
Speaker: Yeah, move along.
Speaker: Get out of here.
Speaker: What was crazy about it is
Speaker: So I have SVT, which if you ask me to tell you, it's like super tracheardia.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I don't know what it is.
Speaker: But it's something with my heart where I can have AFib every once in a while.
Speaker: And so basically my heart rate can go from 50 beats per minute to 270 per minute.
Speaker: And just to give like an example, a hummingbird is 250.
Speaker: So like it's crazy.
Speaker: It's a lot.
Speaker: And it doesn't happen often.
Speaker: It's like happened a couple of times in my life.
Speaker: And I have a little medication I can take, a beta blocker when needed.
Speaker: But I can feel heart murmurs every once in a while.
Speaker: And so I was – when you were over my heart area in like multiple different times –
Speaker: I got like a flutter in my heart and that will, that will make me, that will bring authenticity.
Speaker: Like you will see me as I am because I'm like, I have to protect myself.
Speaker: So like whatever, whatever needs to happen, like if I need to sit up straight, if I need to drink water, if I need to,
Speaker: So I will tell someone, I'm having SVT.
Speaker: You will see me at my most raw state if I start to feel that.
Speaker: And so that happened.
Speaker: And that was when, and I'm sure you noticed this, and I'm sure you'll probably talk about it too, that's when I started to breathe so much more fully and
Speaker: And when that happened, you started to move down my body.
Speaker: And I could like, that was, it felt like the natural progression and that felt really good for me.
Speaker: And I just started to like breathe so much more.
Speaker: And then when I did, when I took my first like breath, I could feel it like from my head to my toes, just like a wash and like such a
Speaker: a level of peace that was like, why are you fighting me so much?
Speaker: Why aren't you letting me in?
Speaker: Why aren't you, why are you trying to not let her in?
Speaker: So that the heart area, yes, was definitely, there was stuff.
Speaker: And I'm not surprised that you picked up on it.
Speaker: You witch.
Speaker: Sorcerer.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So, so what I was noticing when we first started is, you know, with the pendulum and it was funny because you're like, yeah, it's probably, you know, like my,
Speaker: lower chakras and, you know, my kind of third eye area in your mind.
Speaker: And I was like, okay, cool.
Speaker: Yeah, let's see.
Speaker: And then I was like, well, the lower chakras were moving like fairly well.
Speaker: And I, more than they did the first time.
Speaker: I mean, still not, you know, like huge, but there was a little bit of movement.
Speaker: Whereas like last time there was zero.
Speaker: And so, and when I got to the heart, I was like, oh, that's interesting that there's not much moving here at all.
Speaker: And I was like, hmm, okay.
Speaker: You know, we'll see what that's about.
Speaker: And then the...
Speaker: Third eye was like moving a little bit.
Speaker: So the one I noticed mostly was the energy in your heart, then a little bit in your third eye.
Speaker: But once, and I know you were saying that you were just kind of like mentally fatigued.
Speaker: And so I felt like when I was working on your head area, that it was just like, oh, yeah, I just need more energy here.
Speaker: And I'm like, okay, cool.
Speaker: And then when I was working on your heart, which is like why I kept coming back to it, like I was working on clearing some of the energy around it to kind of get the energy moving through.
Speaker: And then
Speaker: When you were on, you know, when I had you face up and I was working on your heart there, I like felt it.
Speaker: in my hands and like in my energy where you were like, please get away.
Speaker: I was like, okay.
Speaker: And so sometimes with myself, I'm like, okay, how much do I want to push this?
Speaker: Because there's things that, you know, sometimes I'll say during a session where it's like, yep, right there, lean in or what's up, let's feel this.
Speaker: And so I was like, you know what, I'm just gonna feel this and see if I can send my energy through it.
Speaker: So I'm not like,
Speaker: being like, it's like the balance between like the tough love kind of like we were talking about and being more gentle.
Speaker: And there's sometimes like how I like to say things, if we're finding things in our body that is either like stuck energy or something's not moving, it's like, okay, is that something you want to lean into?
Speaker: and feel or is that something that you want to lean away from and either one's fine it's like what's needed and so so i was leaning into it a little bit and i could feel like that struggle with my hands where it was just like oh this is like tightening me up in like my body where i was like okay and so i decided to lean away from it today because i know we've talked about you know
Speaker: your energy and you're like, you know, I don't know what I'm ready for.
Speaker: We'll see.
Speaker: So I'm like, okay, I'm just going to see like what this is about.
Speaker: We'll send some energy to it.
Speaker: And then once, once we talk about it, we'll see like, if you want me to really push it and be like, okay, like that's it.
Speaker: Feel into it.
Speaker: Let it go.
Speaker: Release that breathe deep, you know, all of the things, because sometimes, you know, I've worked with other clients where she was feeling that sort of area in her more like
Speaker: solar plexus kind of sacral area.
Speaker: And I could feel like with my hands on her, her body like physically twitching away from me.
Speaker: And so her and I have done a lot of work on this specifically.
Speaker: So I was like, yep, that's it.
Speaker: Do it.
Speaker: You know, and so she just broke open and cried and felt it and like felt really it was a good release.
Speaker: And so so I was debating that today.
Speaker: I was like, you know what, I'm just we're just gonna
Speaker: Send the energy there and then we'll have a deeper conversation about it and then see like, okay, is this something you really want to work through and let go of?
Speaker: So today was more so like exploratory for me in that area where I was like, okay, this is interesting that I can feel that there's something really holding on in the heart and really like maybe like wants to be broken open.
Speaker: And like, is it the time yet?
Speaker: Maybe, maybe not.
Speaker: And so I like to also not...
Speaker: not push it, not to go in and be like, oh, okay, let's break you open and make you cry, you know, because it's like, maybe that's not what's needed.
Speaker: And so I was like, just noticing, okay, I feel that there is something here, which could be related to some of that blockage.
Speaker: in the other areas.
Speaker: So like in the area where your sacral and solar plexus is, you know, that we, and the root, like we were talking about your last session, it could be related to something in the heart that's holding on too.
Speaker: And so it's like, okay, maybe once we start to crack open some of these other areas and find like really where that energy is holding onto and start to work with that, to open it, to release it, to let it go, then it's like, you know, it could be like, okay, once we break that heart open, like
Speaker: boom, all this energy rushes down into the lower two chakras or up and out.
Speaker: And so we can talk about that, decide what we want to do next time.
Speaker: Like if you want me to really get in there or not, because it's always like, you know, like I said before, like you're the healer.
Speaker: So I'm not going to go in there with my own agenda to be like, okay,
Speaker: this is what's going to happen.
Speaker: I found this stuck spot.
Speaker: So let's open it because maybe it's not, it's not ready yet.
Speaker: And that's what I could kind of feel with, with my hands and in your energy where it was like, it was like a tightening where it was like, I don't know if I'm ready yet.
Speaker: And so I'm like, okay, cool.
Speaker: We'll just experiment with that.
Speaker: We'll just feel it and then see what happens.
Speaker: And so we opened it a little bit.
Speaker: Cause so then at the end of the session, I'll
Speaker: go with my pendulum, kind of check things out again, feel things with my hands.
Speaker: And so there was more energy moving.
Speaker: And so for me, I was like, okay, I don't know if this is the time yet to really go with this big sort of cracking open.
Speaker: Yeah, because it was interesting to feel that, especially within my body where I was like, oh, interesting.
Speaker: Like I can tell that there's a closing here where it's like, okay, thank you very much, but no thank you, please.
Speaker: move your hands away then i'm like okay okay i'll move them away and then a little bit i'm like well they'll come back we'll see what's going on now i always there whenever i'm listening to our podcast it's funny because i we're cast and i will mute each other's like i'll mute when she's speaking and she'll usually mute when i'm speaking that that's you don't need to that just that's clear
Speaker: But what's funny about it is that I'm laughing with you, but on the podcast, you're only going to hear you laughing.
Speaker: And it's just so funny because it feels like – it happens to me all the time on the podcast where I'm like, it sounds like I'm just laughing by myself.
Speaker: But it's just like things you wouldn't know if you're not doing the podcast and editing it.
Speaker: But anyway, I was fully, fully resonating with what you were saying and laughing along because it was just like – it's so funny how –
Speaker: how just like authentic this work is.
Speaker: And I'm so thankful that I have you, that you can bring this into my life because you're somebody that I trust and I respect.
Speaker: And there's so much love between us that I, it feels like a really, really safe space to not only have you, like I, especially when it comes to energy work, I don't want just anybody doing energy work on me.
Speaker: So I love that I know you so well.
Speaker: And then also the genuine debriefing, you know, like there's no – I don't know if you want to know this or not.
Speaker: It's like, no, I really want to know this.
Speaker: And I also – I think it's interesting that you felt that when you – when I was on my back and you had your hands on my chest –
Speaker: I was really loving that.
Speaker: I was really like really wanting that.
Speaker: And that felt really good to me.
Speaker: And I actually, I think you're so onto something with the heart and like cracking that open.
Speaker: Like maybe that's where the energy is stuck because for, I think we have already said this, but in my previous session with Brie, my root chakra was just like, nothing was going on down there.
Speaker: and we talked about it.
Speaker: I was like, yeah, that sounds about right.
Speaker: But anyway, so I've been doing some work to help with grounding so that I can open up that chakra.
Speaker: And what was interesting is when you were working on my heart, that was when I actually – like I felt the release of energy moving more through my body, which I want to talk more about energy.
Speaker: I want to put a pin in talking more about how you –
Speaker: How you know you're feeling energy in your body because I think it's such a broad, vague thing that there's times where when you're working on me, I'm like, God, I feel stupid.
Speaker: I feel like I'm stupid and I don't know what energy is and I don't know how to feel it in my body.
Speaker: I don't know what to be looking for, like the sensation to be looking for.
Speaker: So I want to come back to that.
Speaker: And I also want to come back to how amazing this kind of work is because even as you're discussing, there's so many different routes and avenues you could go during a session.
Speaker: And I think that alludes to how intuitive this work is because you're saying I could press on, I could let go, I could see if –
Speaker: if the energy is moving from one area to the other, if there's all these decisions that you're making of which way to go, that's really impressive to me because it's like I could see myself getting caught up in my head of like, oh, did I make the right call?
Speaker: Should I have leaned in more or should I have not leaned in or whatever?
Speaker: And I think because of the work and the education you have, it's
Speaker: you're able, I don't want to just put this on you, which is why I want to come back and actually have a conversation about it.
Speaker: But I think you're able to lean in or rely on your intuition more and like let that move through you versus being so much in your head.
Speaker: And during the session, I also noticed how much I was in my head and I was like, feel in your body, like get in your body.
Speaker: And when you were working on my heart, I was laying on my belly and you're on my back.
Speaker: And I felt the like rush of energy go through from my heart to my feet.
Speaker: Then when you move down to my root chakra, I got very teary-eyed.
Speaker: Like I got very – I felt emotion come up.
Speaker: And then I also –
Speaker: Felt insecure because I, because that happened, my nose started to get clogged.
Speaker: You know, like when you're crying, your nose gets stuffy.
Speaker: I was like, oh no, I can't breathe.
Speaker: And then I was like, I'm going to have to breathe through my mouth.
Speaker: You know, just like face down, just like.
Speaker: But yeah, that felt like a really, really nice release.
Speaker: And I also do just want to note that anytime – like your touch is so welcomed by me.
Speaker: Any – especially like on my heart or my chest, on my shoulders, on my head when you had your hands – there was space between your hands and my head.
Speaker: I could like –
Speaker: feel that.
Speaker: And I really appreciated it.
Speaker: I was like, oh my God, that feels awesome.
Speaker: It feels like a massage for my energy.
Speaker: It was awesome.
Speaker: But yeah, I want to talk more with you about
Speaker: how this feels for you as the energy worker, like what, what you experience.
Speaker: And maybe also if there's somebody out there who's interested in becoming an energy worker, like what advice you might have for them or what, what things you feel like energy workers found that not necessarily should know, but just things to you that make up a good energy healer, like maybe some qualities that make up a good energy healer.
Speaker: Or energy worker.
Speaker: I'm trying to debate where to start with that.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: So I guess we'll start with how you can feel your own energy.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: So if you take your hands together, like in a prayer position in front of you, and then slide them against each other.
Speaker: So like you're trying to warm them up.
Speaker: And so do that for a little bit.
Speaker: And then take your hands apart from each other, maybe six inches.
Speaker: And then slowly start to move them towards each other.
Speaker: And so then when you do that, you're essentially feeling your own energy field.
Speaker: Wait, this is crazy because I did not know what quite to expect, but like I actually felt something.
Speaker: When I pulled them apart like that initially, I was like, oh, I'm feeling a tingling sensation because we just did that.
Speaker: And then when you said to start to bring it together, I was like, I actually feel something.
Speaker: But that's so wild to me because I've, you know, I've been a yoga instructor.
Speaker: I've gone to, I've gone to Sedona, Arizona.
Speaker: I've been in the vortexes there.
Speaker: Like I've done some stuff and I've not been able to, this is the first time that I've actually ever been able to feel that now why the rubbing of the hands together first.
Speaker: So for me, I mean, one that kind of just like warms them up and it just gets the energy flowing a little bit more.
Speaker: And then once you take them further apart and then bring them together, it's like, you know, you have an energy field around your entire body.
Speaker: And so then when you're kind of moving them together, it's like you're feeling both sides of it, like the energy fields on both of your hands.
Speaker: And then it's like you're feeling that energy just between your hands.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And what, like, what would you say to somebody?
Speaker: Cause when you talk about there's an energy field around your body that is there, are there like scientific thing?
Speaker: Cause I think there are, but I don't know well enough to cite them, but I believe there's scientific studies and evidence showcasing that there is an energy field.
Speaker: It's not like a, it's a, like believe in the energy field.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So a lot of people will call it like the aura.
Speaker: And so like, there's people who do like aura pictures and photography and stuff.
Speaker: And so you can measure it.
Speaker: And so and I don't know how they do it.
Speaker: I don't know, like the exact science behind measuring somebody's energy field.
Speaker: Yeah, there's like different layers that kind of correspond with each of your chakras.
Speaker: And so the energy field expands pretty far out of your body.
Speaker: And so if you even think about, you know, you can tell somebody's energy oftentimes when they walk into the room, especially if somebody is really nervous or really pissed off or really excited and happy.
Speaker: And so you can feel that in your body.
Speaker: You can tell if there's somebody...
Speaker: in your space or, you know, in your environment that is feeling a certain way and that can affect everybody else.
Speaker: And so I remember years ago when I used to work for Starbucks and like if one person behind the bar came in in a really pissed off mood, it brought everybody down.
Speaker: And then I
Speaker: that's like, oh, okay, well now I'm in a bad mood and that's not very fun.
Speaker: Whereas like the same thing can happen.
Speaker: And we had at my husband, one of his employees said to him, when you come in, you're in such a good mood that it lifts everybody else up.
Speaker: And so that's the energy field where you can feel it without knowing like, oh, I can tell that this person is really happy and in a good mood.
Speaker: And they didn't have to say a single thing.
Speaker: It's like you're feeling that energy.
Speaker: And so scientifically, I don't
Speaker: I don't really know all the nuances about it, but there's a lot of books like to read.
Speaker: And so like the things that I've read, you know, I've read a lot.
Speaker: It just talks about, you know, where the energy field is.
Speaker: And I know there's just machines that can track it, can measure it.
Speaker: And I just, yeah.
Speaker: I literally have seen articles about this, like about how there are ways that energy fields on people.
Speaker: They can be measured.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: They can be measured.
Speaker: And.
Speaker: And so, and I think what is interesting about this is how I definitely can feel energy.
Speaker: And I also, like when somebody walks into a room, I feel like I can tend to read, pick up on their vibe, pick up on their energy.
Speaker: That is something that ER and I have discussed that ER –
Speaker: has a harder time with.
Speaker: And I'll say that to him like, babe, read the room.
Speaker: And he's like, that does not make sense to me.
Speaker: I don't know what that means.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Like, I don't know what that means.
Speaker: And I've told him that I think it's something that people can learn.
Speaker: I don't think it's something that people either have or don't have.
Speaker: I think everybody is born with somewhat of a capability to
Speaker: tap into either like empathy or energy.
Speaker: And it's about how much I foster it and practice it and observe it and acknowledge it.
Speaker: And I don't know that to be true.
Speaker: That's just my own thought and opinion that I think people can strengthen that.
Speaker: So yeah, for like you and I, I think that's something that has always been with us.
Speaker: Like, oh, I can pick up on your energy.
Speaker: And I definitely think there's people out there that are like, I have no idea what you're talking about.
Speaker: I don't know how to pick up on energy.
Speaker: What would you say to somebody who feels like they can't pick up on energy?
Speaker: I definitely think it's something that can be learned and practiced.
Speaker: And so I would just, I mean, you could do a ton of different stuff.
Speaker: Like you could go out in public and just people watch for a while.
Speaker: And, you know, if you're watching a certain person for a while, just to know like, oh, I wonder what that person is doing.
Speaker: going through and watching like their body language, their movements.
Speaker: And I would even maybe start with somebody that you know, somebody close to you.
Speaker: So it's like, oh, okay, I'm sitting with, you know, say best friend, sibling, partner, whatever.
Speaker: And like, can you pay attention to these little nuances that are happening?
Speaker: Like maybe it's the way they're holding themselves.
Speaker: Maybe it's the way they're walking, the way that they're looking around, the way that they're sitting, the way that they're breathing.
Speaker: And so to pay attention to these really subtle cues and
Speaker: And I mean, you could even tell them like, hey, I'm just going to observe you for a little bit if that's cool.
Speaker: And to see like, you know, what they do.
Speaker: And so once you start to pick up like these subtler cues on somebody that you know, just because it would be easier to start there, then you can take that into consideration.
Speaker: you know, oh, I'm hanging out at a restaurant and, you know, maybe even watching people interact with each other and just see like, oh, that human looks like they're sad or excited.
Speaker: And then it's like, okay, well, why do I think that they're excited?
Speaker: You know, what are they doing that makes me think that like, oh, it's because they are, you know, laughing.
Speaker: They have, you know, they're using their
Speaker: hands to talk.
Speaker: They just have this big energy around them or like, oh, does that person look sad because maybe they're a little bit hunched over.
Speaker: They're a little bit withdrawn.
Speaker: They're a little bit pulled in.
Speaker: And so
Speaker: Paying attention, I think, to those subtler cues can help to start reading somebody's energy, to start feeling that.
Speaker: I think that's a good way to start to do that.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And I especially like how you mentioned doing it with somebody that you know, because I think that could be a dangerous sort of spot to get in where if you're just people watching, it could, I think,
Speaker: allude it into projection or assumption.
Speaker: And then I think that could be misconstrued.
Speaker: And you're like, oh, I know that that person was having a really great day.
Speaker: And it's like, that person might've been having a really terrible day.
Speaker: And their energy might've been really low.
Speaker: But if you're observing somebody that you know, you can at least check in, like, this is what I observed.
Speaker: Like, what was it for you?
Speaker: And actually, there's a really sweet example or a really sweet exercise from the Gottmans
Speaker: And they're somebody that I've discussed.
Speaker: They're a couple.
Speaker: They're a married couple that I've discussed on the podcast before.
Speaker: And they have a book called The Love Prescription.
Speaker: They have many books, but they are love.
Speaker: They're basically like love researchers.
Speaker: And one exercise that they have is not telling your partner, but picking a day where you observe your partner the whole day.
Speaker: As much as you can.
Speaker: Try not to pick a day where you're both going to be going to work.
Speaker: Try to pick a day where you're actually going to be spending time with one another.
Speaker: The only goal of the day is to pick up on everything that you appreciate about them and then write that out and share that with your partner.
Speaker: And so I was just thinking how that could be a nice way to also couple, you know, if you're observing, if you want to observe somebody's energy that you know, also thinking about like all the things that you appreciate about them.
Speaker: But yeah, that was, I think that's a really cool thing just to observe somebody and then be able to check in.
Speaker: Like this is what I picked up on.
Speaker: And for you, how, well, actually let's, I want to go more into this.
Speaker: Like what, what made you feel called to do this kind of work?
Speaker: So yeah.
Speaker: When I was super young, I don't want to give like the whole story because it's pretty long.
Speaker: But my mom, so she is a physician.
Speaker: She went to medical school when we were kids.
Speaker: I think I was like in middle school.
Speaker: And I remember she did this like integrative medicine fellowship program after medical school.
Speaker: And she...
Speaker: did this Reiki program.
Speaker: And I remember her coming home and she was talking about like, oh yeah, I did Reiki.
Speaker: It's like this, you know, energy work.
Speaker: And I was maybe, I still, I don't even know exactly how old I was, but probably somewhere around 12, maybe 13.
Speaker: And she was doing like this Reiki and talking to me about it.
Speaker: And I was like, well, that sounds cool.
Speaker: And so she gave me some Reiki and I was like, well, can I learn how to do this?
Speaker: And my mom was like, I don't see why not.
Speaker: So she took me to like my first Reiki level one class.
Speaker: So I was like, oh yeah, this is so awesome.
Speaker: Love it.
Speaker: And then like very quickly realized, you know, talking to friends about it at school and whatever, like, oh, this makes me weird.
Speaker: Okay, cool.
Speaker: Never mind.
Speaker: Not going to tell anybody about this.
Speaker: And so I kind of like put that part away for a long time.
Speaker: And so and I've always been like super interested in like, you know, loved Harry Potter, who doesn't, and all of this sort of like magical, wizardy, energetic sort of stuff.
Speaker: So then, you know, put kind of a damper on that for a while.
Speaker: And I was like, oh, yeah, this is okay.
Speaker: This is this is weird.
Speaker: So not going to do this.
Speaker: And so then I think after doing the yoga trainings and really reconnecting back with my spirituality, I was like, you know, I want to learn more about Reiki because I was so young and I don't really remember a lot of the things that were taught.
Speaker: Like, I remember how I felt.
Speaker: But what?
Speaker: what is this even about?
Speaker: And so then started to dive back into it, then did the level two with a friend of mine who is a Reiki master and then was just reading books about it and whatnot.
Speaker: And then did the Reiki master a little bit after that.
Speaker: And so I've just always been really interested in energy and how energy works and how it's like,
Speaker: such a part of our lives that we don't really pay attention to.
Speaker: It's like this invisible force that's constantly moving around us.
Speaker: And if we can tap into that, our whole life can be different.
Speaker: And
Speaker: I think a lot of times, you know, obviously I'm not a doctor or anything like that, but things can come up in our energetic field and cause like physical problems in our bodies.
Speaker: My goal is like, okay, how can we work to heal ourselves when these things come up and not let it get to an actual like physical issue?
Speaker: And so, you know, there's, you know, I'm sure you've heard about people who've maybe had,
Speaker: like a broken heart or something's happened and then they physically will have like a heart attack or somebody who's had a lot of issues with speaking their truth or what, and then they get throat cancer or, you know, have something happen there.
Speaker: And so I think if we can really tune into our own energy and how it works when it's off, that it can really change like our entire wellbeing.
Speaker: That's just always been so fascinating to me where I just love,
Speaker: learning about it and diving into it.
Speaker: And I'm like, okay, if this is blog, like if I'm feeling this, then how can I shift this in my body?
Speaker: How can I, you know, check and adjust what I'm doing so that I can be in a state of alignment so I can continue to live in a way that's super vibrant and maybe catching some of these ailments that are within my energy field and not letting them in.
Speaker: And so
Speaker: You know, I think about, you know, I used to have really bad migraines years ago.
Speaker: And so I always thought it was like due to neck tension.
Speaker: And so even thinking back, like, okay, when did these migraines start?
Speaker: And it's like, okay, that was maybe like at a point in my life where I wasn't super true to who I was.
Speaker: And I wasn't really...
Speaker: listening to maybe like my intuition or whatever that might be.
Speaker: And so it's like, Oh, interesting.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Like looking back on it now, I'm like, that was probably related.
Speaker: That was probably why I was having these migraines is because I was completely doing things that were against my intuition, thinking back on that stuff.
Speaker: So like if you have some sort of chronic health issue or something going on, like maybe asking yourself like, okay, when did that start?
Speaker: And maybe why?
Speaker: And what could be the root cause of that?
Speaker: And then working that way.
Speaker: And so I think there's just a lot more to energy than people think.
Speaker: And so I just love it.
Speaker: I love learning about it.
Speaker: Like working with it because it's so powerful.
Speaker: I'm glad that you do because I get to benefit from it because you do.
Speaker: You're welcome.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I, I, there's a part of me, I'm sure there's people that are listening that are like, this is silly or like, this is way too woo woo for me or whatever.
Speaker: And I can, I feel like I can very much relate to that sentiment because I,
Speaker: I very much like logic.
Speaker: I really like, I think I talk about it almost like every podcast episode, how I like bringing more black and white to a gray world.
Speaker: I like structure.
Speaker: I like being able to simplify something.
Speaker: And logic helps me do that or data helps me do that.
Speaker: And so when it comes to things like energy work,
Speaker: body work, breath work, there can be some studies, but I think it's harder to prove, okay, this thing actually works.
Speaker: And I like that for a couple of reasons.
Speaker: One, it really helps strengthen faith in me.
Speaker: Like I, I, the only thing that I, it helps me strengthen faith, hope, belief.
Speaker: And those are things that I, those are things that don't work off of proof.
Speaker: They work off of heart and feeling and
Speaker: And those things are powerful, like to have hope, to have faith, to believe in something that those are all really powerful things.
Speaker: And so with energy work or breath work or body work, I like that there's this sort of mystery to it.
Speaker: There's this sort of.
Speaker: element of almost like a necessary belief.
Speaker: And then the other thing that I like about this kind of work is anytime that I've felt like, Oh, I don't want to do energy work or I don't, I don't want to sit in like a sound bath.
Speaker: Cause like, what is that actually going to do for me?
Speaker: I just try it to see.
Speaker: I'm like, I'm not going to lose anything from it.
Speaker: You know, like I just go and try and see if it yields anything for me.
Speaker: And each time it has.
Speaker: And I think I've also been very lucky because I think just like with if you're looking for a therapist or mental health coach, it isn't always the first person that I speak with.
Speaker: Like I know I have my mental health coach that I love.
Speaker: I really lucked out in finding her years ago, but it had been so long since I had seen her and I didn't have a contact.
Speaker: I couldn't remember her first and last name.
Speaker: I just had no idea on how to contact her.
Speaker: And so I started shopping around for therapists or mental health coaches, and it was like a bad dating scene.
Speaker: Like I was like, nope, not you.
Speaker: Nope, not you.
Speaker: And I finally thought of like, oh, I remember one time she emailed me like on my personal, and I think her name was this.
Speaker: So I was able to beautiful mind it and like get back to her.
Speaker: But I think the same thing with energy work, which is what I was talking about with you, where I'm like, I'm so fortunate that I know you because –
Speaker: Yeah, like I think there could be people out there doing energy work where I'm like, it's not that I didn't like the energy work.
Speaker: It's that I didn't like the person who was providing it.
Speaker: So what advice would you have for somebody who is looking to start their journey with energy work, healing work?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: What would you say to them when they're first starting out?
Speaker: That's a good question.
Speaker: And I'm glad that you brought that up because, yeah, it's you have to feel safe and comfortable.
Speaker: And so the main thing that I would say when looking for an energy practitioner is that
Speaker: to make sure that you feel safe with them, to make sure that, you know, your energy feels safe.
Speaker: And it might be, you know, it might take a session to, to figure that out.
Speaker: And you might just meet somebody and be like, no, thank you.
Speaker: Or you might meet someone and be like, oh yeah, this could work out.
Speaker: And then do the session and be like, that was weird.
Speaker: Or meet somebody and be like, yes, it's you, you know, and do the session.
Speaker: You're like, oh, this is great.
Speaker: And so I, I really, I
Speaker: think that that sense of safety is the most important.
Speaker: And with one of my other clients that I've been working with,
Speaker: She teaches yoga too.
Speaker: And she had a couple of experiences with me where she just like cracked open and she was like, that's crazy.
Speaker: That has not happened for me.
Speaker: And I think it's because my energy feels safe with you.
Speaker: And so my number one thing is just to try to make the environment as safe as possible for the person I'm going to be working with.
Speaker: Because it's,
Speaker: to feel into some of this stuff that might be really uncomfortable.
Speaker: You have to feel safe.
Speaker: And so I tell people like, you know, you can cry, scream, wail, howl like a coyote, you know, whatever wants to come out, let it out.
Speaker: And there's not going to be any judgment from here.
Speaker: Like I'm just here to hold space and to create that safe container for you to explore whatever you need to explore.
Speaker: And so if you don't feel safe enough to do that, you probably won't get to the depths of what wants to come out or be released or be experienced.
Speaker: And so finding somebody who you really feel safe with, I think is the number one thing to look out for when you're looking for information.
Speaker: an energy healer.
Speaker: And so again, it might not happen right away.
Speaker: And there's times, you know, I've worked with people like as a client, you know, I've gone to see somebody like, Oh, that was a little, that was a little weird, probably not gonna go back to that person.
Speaker: Okay, cool.
Speaker: Good to know.
Speaker: And then other people where I'm like, Oh, yeah, that was amazing.
Speaker: Like, absolutely.
Speaker: I don't know what you did.
Speaker: And I'm gonna keep coming back to you.
Speaker: Sometimes that's also like an energetic thing, like where you have to listen to your intuition to your gut where it's like,
Speaker: okay, yes, this person.
Speaker: And just really feeling like, is it a yes for me?
Speaker: Or is it a no?
Speaker: And you might come up with like, oh, it's actually a no.
Speaker: And that's crazy because there's so many other things that I really like about this person.
Speaker: So what's that no?
Speaker: And it's important to listen to that because there's a reason that that's coming up.
Speaker: I would just really, you know, tune in to like, how does my energy feel around this person?
Speaker: Is it a yes?
Speaker: Is it a no?
Speaker: Okay, it's a yes.
Speaker: Great.
Speaker: Oh, it's a no.
Speaker: Okay, I'm going to listen to that because energetic work is powerful and you just want it to be with somebody you feel safe with.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I think that's a really good call out.
Speaker: And I also think that another thing is if I didn't have you, but I was really interested in Reiki work, well, this actually happened to me.
Speaker: I was interested in acupuncture and I didn't have anyone, I didn't know of anyone in Tucson.
Speaker: And the first person I reached out to was Bree.
Speaker: I was like, do you have a recommendation for this kind of work?
Speaker: And you had kind of like a school that you could recommend, but it was more of like
Speaker: I've been here.
Speaker: I've been there.
Speaker: I don't know that I would say like, this is the top recommendation.
Speaker: And so I was like, shoot, I just don't know where to go.
Speaker: But what I did is I really opened myself up to receiving that.
Speaker: So I thought, okay, how do I want to feel with the person who's going to be offering the acupuncture?
Speaker: and what kind of price range do I want it to be in?
Speaker: How close do I want them to be to my house?
Speaker: I started to just think about a couple of things like that, and it just happened.
Speaker: I literally went on Instagram, and an ad randomly popped up.
Speaker: I've never seen, and it's probably because my phone's listening, and I was like, Reiki, Reiki, or acupuncture.
Speaker: But yeah, it was an ad for a place here in Tucson, and
Speaker: I just, it all came together so effortlessly.
Speaker: And then I ended up knowing the person who was providing the acupuncture and it was all just like, wow, I think I played a role in manifesting you, like in bringing you into my life because I was so genuinely open to it.
Speaker: I was so much like, I want to receive acupuncture.
Speaker: And then that happens.
Speaker: So I think that could be another thing too, is just really thinking about who you would like as an energy worker and not necessarily like shut.
Speaker: Like I wouldn't, I wouldn't want to think about who I want as an energy worker to shut myself off to other people because I might not, I might conjure up like, you know, I might think who I want to give me energy work, but then be like,
Speaker: that was wrong.
Speaker: Like that's not, I don't know who I need actually.
Speaker: And I think life steps in no matter what.
Speaker: I think life is like, okay, I hear you.
Speaker: I see what you're wanting.
Speaker: This is what you need.
Speaker: We can have a little bit of both.
Speaker: And like, this is now your person.
Speaker: And I think that can happen if you're, you know, thinking like, I don't know who, where to start with this, but just starting to think about how you'd like to feel during the session and what kind of price range you would want it to be in.
Speaker: And just like
Speaker: start letting the world know or the universe know that you're open to it.
Speaker: And that's another thing where I feel
Speaker: People are like, what do you mean let the universe know?
Speaker: Like, what does that even mean?
Speaker: And again, I'm like, just try, just try.
Speaker: It literally will cost you nothing.
Speaker: It just, just try.
Speaker: And that's how I have to enter into a lot of the things that have brought me, have been so, what's the word?
Speaker: Like fortunate.
Speaker: I've been so fortunate to receive certain things.
Speaker: And it's like, it's because I opened myself up to the possibilities of.
Speaker: So just, you know, maybe also thinking about like who you want to do the work.
Speaker: Totally.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And I think that's a great call out to just, to just be open and to put out into the universe.
Speaker: This is what I'm looking for.
Speaker: This is how I want to feel.
Speaker: This is how I want the person's energy to feel.
Speaker: And I'm open to that or something better.
Speaker: And then, yeah, you're like, oh, weird.
Speaker: This Instagram ad, or is it not weird?
Speaker: Because that's exactly what you put out into the universe.
Speaker: And so I think, yeah, I mean, you know, we could go down a whole rabbit hole on manifesting and, yeah,
Speaker: calling what you want into your life and, you know, living in that sort of energetic field and that, what's the word, I guess, just living in that sort of vibration that it's, oh, it's already there.
Speaker: It's already coming to me.
Speaker: And, oh, of course this Instagram ad is going to pop up and it's going to be the most perfect person because that's what I've been waiting for.
Speaker: And so, yeah, I think that's great too.
Speaker: Put it out there and see who shows up.
Speaker: Now I'm like kicking myself that we didn't save more time for a manifestation because
Speaker: just like on a footnote, Brie literally manifested her home and then got it.
Speaker: Like it's unreal.
Speaker: That story always blows my mind.
Speaker: I'm like, it's just so simple.
Speaker: And how sure you were, you're like, this is going to be my home.
Speaker: And then it sure enough is, it's just like that.
Speaker: And it happens.
Speaker: Like so many people have these stories about manifestation or visualization coming to reality.
Speaker: And I'm like,
Speaker: Yeah, just try.
Speaker: Like, why wouldn't you just try that?
Speaker: It's literally free.
Speaker: But is there anything that you're feeling called to share before we wrap up?
Speaker: I think how I feel when I'm giving a session.
Speaker: I don't know if I touched too much on that, which I can just talk about quickly.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker: I feel a lot of energy.
Speaker: in my hands when I'm working with somebody.
Speaker: And then sometimes I'll feel more energy in other places than, or in other, you know, like chakras than a different one.
Speaker: Does that make sense?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And so basically like the energy that I'm talking about is when we did the thing where we rubbed our hands together and then pulled it apart and felt it.
Speaker: So then I'm feeling that in both hands.
Speaker: And then sometimes I'll feel it in one more than the other.
Speaker: And then I'll also see what's going on in my body.
Speaker: And especially when we were talking about like your heart, like I was physically feeling like constricted in my body too, where I was like, okay, there's something, there's something here.
Speaker: And then sometimes I'll close my eyes and I only close my eyes.
Speaker: Like when I have
Speaker: my hands on somebody in a place that's not like uncomfortable, you know, so I don't like, you know, so if like I have my hands like firmly on your head, then I'll like close my eyes for a moment, kind of tune in and see if I'm seeing any colors, any visions, what's coming up.
Speaker: And so, yeah, I just kind of let myself sort of
Speaker: feel the energy, but more so it's, it's in my hands.
Speaker: And then sometimes I'll feel like constrictions like I did today, like with your heart where I'm like, Oh, it's just interesting.
Speaker: What's going on in there.
Speaker: And so, yeah, that was one of the questions I asked you when we ended the first session is I was like, do you feel like you need an energy cleanse after those types of things?
Speaker: Like, does that affect you really?
Speaker: Cause I could, you know, I feel like even if I watch a, like somebody shares a story of, okay, the book I'm reading right now, I,
Speaker: The Gift of Influence, I think is what it's called.
Speaker: And the author shares a few stories, just people's stories.
Speaker: And within the first few pages, I was just crying because the story hit me so much.
Speaker: And sometimes that can be hard for me to shake off.
Speaker: You know, like maybe I see something
Speaker: tragic in the news and that just can affect my entire day.
Speaker: And I try to work from a place where I can feel it without it debilitating me.
Speaker: Like, cause then I just can't even do any good work.
Speaker: Like if I see something terrible on the news and for the rest of the day, I'm just like beside myself or I'm in a dark hole.
Speaker: Like I, I can't do good from that place.
Speaker: And so I, I try to let it, you know, I don't want to be numb to the things happening, but I just don't want them to also, you
Speaker: put me into like a dark hole.
Speaker: And so with the energy work that you offer, I was like, this is such a selfless thing to me.
Speaker: And I can't imagine how I wouldn't feel like if you were saying that you felt the constriction in your heart, I'm like, how would I cleanse myself of that?
Speaker: Like, how would I not let that become my own?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So what I do is, you know, I'll cleanse.
Speaker: Like I always cleanse the room with sage and I'll cleanse myself with sage.
Speaker: And then also just kind of view, like I'll wash my hands after.
Speaker: And so it's like sort of like a self cleansing where I'm like, okay, this is not my, and I think it's,
Speaker: You know, a lot of people can have, like, especially people who do this sort of energetic or even, you know, healing sort of work, if they want to call it that.
Speaker: They can, like, oftentimes people who do this sort of work are very empathetic.
Speaker: And so they can feel a lot of the feels that the person's feeling.
Speaker: For me, I mean, you can set an intention like, okay, this is not mine.
Speaker: You know, like, I'm setting my energy field in a way where it's almost like a semi, what do they call it?
Speaker: Semi-permeable membrane where it's like things can go out, but they can't come in.
Speaker: And so I'll do like a visualization where I'm like, okay, my energy field is clear and like I can feel what's going out.
Speaker: And then also like if things are coming in, you know, with you, I'm like, okay, interesting.
Speaker: Like I'm feeling that.
Speaker: Okay, cool.
Speaker: You know, that's a good note for me.
Speaker: And then to work with it that way.
Speaker: So it's not like I'm just being bombarded, but I'm like, okay, I feel clear and I'm doing this.
Speaker: Oh, and interesting.
Speaker: That's coming in.
Speaker: Okay, cool.
Speaker: I'm going to spend a little bit more time there.
Speaker: And it's like almost like a like a hit, you know, so it's not like I don't feel that anymore.
Speaker: I was like, OK, this is just information that I'm getting from Danny's body that it's like, OK, there's some sort of blockage in the heart.
Speaker: OK, cool.
Speaker: And then afterwards, you know, I sage myself.
Speaker: I have this like protection spray and stuff.
Speaker: And.
Speaker: So yeah, it's important though, to take care of your own energy because it can be really easy to take on other people's stuff.
Speaker: And even in breathwork classes that I've done, one of the girls one time was saying like, oh, I felt like I was receiving a lot of what was going on in the room.
Speaker: Like everybody else's energy was coming into me.
Speaker: And I was like, okay, cool.
Speaker: So that was good for me to know as an instructor, like, okay, at the beginning, I'll talk about
Speaker: having your energy field be around you, you know, to do some of this stuff ahead of time.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: It's, it's important to just to take care of your own field, especially if you're, you know, more empathetic and going out into the world and it's like, you know, maybe, you know,
Speaker: going out and I don't know, into like the mall, for example, like there's a lot of different people walking around.
Speaker: And so it's easy to take in all this energy from different places.
Speaker: And so it's like, okay, how can I set the intention that my field is clear and that, you know, if something wants to come in, I'm just sending that back with love.
Speaker: And that can be helpful.
Speaker: I think about that for flights, like when I'm on a really crowded flight.
Speaker: Because I've heard from people who are flight attendants or pilots that the way that people act on airlines, like in an airplane specifically, is unreal, like unhinged.
Speaker: And they're just like – people do things that you just would never do on the ground.
Speaker: And it's like for –
Speaker: whatever reason.
Speaker: And usually it's because people are so freaked out by the lack of control of being in this flight and people just like have a fear of flying.
Speaker: And so there can just be a lot of energy perky, like just circulating in that tin box, thousands of feet above the air.
Speaker: And, um, I think about that when I get on the flight, cause I'm not really a nervous flyer.
Speaker: I had a stint of being a nervous flyer, but it was right after COVID and I hadn't been traveling for a long time, but
Speaker: I, I tend to not be a very nervous flyer and I, I want to emulate that.
Speaker: Like I want to help spread that, but also that being said, that feels a little too, like I'm giving myself too much credit or too much self-appointed power that it's like, I also just should keep my energy to myself at a certain point.
Speaker: Like who's to say that me, I,
Speaker: trying to like share this calming energy is the way, like some people might be like on a high, like they're like, we just got engaged and like, we're, we're off to our honeymoon.
Speaker: Like we want to have a good time.
Speaker: And I'm out here like, all right, calm vibes, just calm vibes.
Speaker: It's like, okay, can we just be responsible for our own energy?
Speaker: Um, so that's actually something that I'd like to do moving forward, not necessarily trying to like give other people my energy, but just protecting mine and
Speaker: And I think even still that can have a ripple effect.
Speaker: I don't have to like push my energy onto somebody else.
Speaker: I think even if somebody is feeling freaked out, but they see me and I am feeling really calm and I'm exuding this calm energy.
Speaker: that they could be like, okay, okay, okay.
Speaker: Like it'll be okay.
Speaker: But yeah, protecting the energy and also just like the cleanse.
Speaker: I like how you talked about the cleansing portion of it too, because I think even just that kind of a ritual that doesn't take a lot of time could be really helpful and beneficial.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And I just want to make a note on what you were saying about, you know, who am I to send these people energy if they don't want it.
Speaker: And one thing that you can do is like kind of tap into like their higher self.
Speaker: So it's like, okay, my higher self is sending this energy.
Speaker: And if somebody's higher self wants to grab onto that energy, it's available.
Speaker: And so, because that's like part of the energy work, it's like,
Speaker: You know, you're never going to give energy work to somebody if they don't want it.
Speaker: You know, it's not like, okay, I see that you're in distress.
Speaker: So I'm going to give you energy because it's like, maybe I don't want it.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: However, what you can do is like, okay, I'm giving this energy out to this person and their higher self can choose to accept it or not.
Speaker: And that can be a beautiful way to do that if somebody is like in distress and you're like, maybe that person needs some energy work, but I don't know.
Speaker: So I'm going to send it out.
Speaker: And if they want to grab onto it, cool.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I like that a lot.
Speaker: Because I've definitely been the person on a flight where I'm like, I am so nervous.
Speaker: Like, I just want to feel better.
Speaker: And there's so much power in being able to do that for myself.
Speaker: But also like a very beautiful thing.
Speaker: If somebody is out here offering calmer energy, it's like, oh, nice.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And as an offering, that's what I like about it versus –
Speaker: Here, my energy is the better energy on this flight, so I'm going to send it out.
Speaker: It's like, no.
Speaker: Not true.
Speaker: No, thank you.
Speaker: Oh, my gosh.
Speaker: Bree, thank you so much.
Speaker: Thank you.
Speaker: Thank you.
Speaker: I cannot wait.
Speaker: I can't wait for this bad boy to be live.
Speaker: And just, yeah, this is really, really, I really appreciate your time today for the session period, but then also for recording.
Speaker: That was so fun to talk more with you about it.
Speaker: So good.
Speaker: Thanks for having me on the podcast.
Speaker: This is.
