Introduction to 'Mildly Frustrating'

00:00:09
Speaker
Hello and welcome to a new podcast, Mildly Frustrating. A podcast for all things, you guessed it, mildly frustrating. That can range from sports to technology, to video games, or whatever's on our minds today. So what we're here to talk about. So I'm Dylan and I'm here with my co-host. Hey guys, my name's Alan. Again, this is our first episode, so hopefully you guys enjoy it.

Current Sports Events Overview

00:00:30
Speaker
So I think first, just because of the current events, we're going to redo out the sports. So obviously something I want to discuss with the
00:00:39
Speaker
Oh, hold on. A woman named Patriots, one of the guys named Teddy Brewski. Okay, gotcha. Yeah. I forgot you had mentioned that. He hasn't been on TV in a while now, so I just assumed he even got cut. You know, he replaced people every other year. Yeah. Well, it came up on my phone as Patriots. So I was curious what it said. You were like, oh, did one of them die? Patriots, hopefully. Did one of them kill somebody again? Yeah. Yeah. Hopefully, he cracked his car. What? He's got kids, dude.
00:01:10
Speaker
Is those two beautiful-looking kids, because, you know... That's fine. I didn't say I wanted to die. It was like a whole feedback card. So they can't get to the state in the name? Yeah. You want a Kansas City Chief to die, doesn't you? That would be preferable. His replacement would still be the Jets. Twice. Oh, yeah. They wouldn't need a quarterback. They'd just have somebody come in as a running back. I was running Wildcat all day. Oh, dude. Like, James White?
00:01:39
Speaker
They probably could. We finally go bring back Danny Woodhead.

NBA Free Agency Highlights

00:01:42
Speaker
Just talk from round and round circles around everybody. You could start playing lacrosse out there. He's like Ant-Man. He's tiny. He's round and round. He can't tackle him. So this past Monday, what was the date? I don't know, whatever the date was. Was it the first? Yeah. Was it the first? Oh yeah, I guess the first was Monday. Was that free agency day for
00:02:09
Speaker
The NHL NBA, NFL? No, not NFL, NBA. NBA started, well, they can officially sign to the six. So tomorrow is the official signing. The first one, they can start talking. Oh, you can officially, you can talk back channel talk, but you can officially come out and say that you're talking with a third player interested in the player or them.
00:02:31
Speaker
the official talking to each other first. But yeah, it's the 6th is when it officially starts. So tomorrow at noon is when you can finally sign your action. Yeah, it's screwed up. It's it's weird. They got like the Lakers now need the pelicans to give them more time because if a koala doesn't want to sign by the 6th, they have to sign Anthony

New York Sports Teams' Frustrations

00:02:53
Speaker
Davis by the 6th. So they're the trade obithers of the
00:03:00
Speaker
from New Orleans to Atlanta, so they want to get their player in Vegas for their summer league, but they can't until the trip for Davis goes through, which the Lakers don't want to do until they sign a quad, because if they sign it early, they lose $4 million. They won't have the max to sign Leonard, and now they lose it. So it's like they're having to beg other teams to be like, hey, just hang on, we're good. Give us a couple minutes for good. Hold on, hold on. Tomorrow's going to be pretty stressful for the long period.
00:03:29
Speaker
I hope it's done. God bless. They only have three of the top ten players. If they sent Guadalupe, they'd literally have two of the top three players in the league. I wouldn't describe the Kobe runner for that. Just to say, it's his team. Starting point guard. He's gonna play point guard. He's a shooter, man. There's no way. LeBron, you go play point, dude. This team is the baller. Kobe will figure that out.
00:03:57
Speaker
until we can figure out if Keely can move. Well, I mean, that's fair. He didn't have to run. He just had him sit down with him, like, go just deep in there. Well, he's not going to come play defense, so he'll just be sitting at the third point arc on the other side, waiting to shoot. That's true. How about somebody run him around? Ball me, Glazer. I'm free. Ball me. I'm going long. I'm long. So, it's a rough day if you were a...
00:04:22
Speaker
Jets fan or whatever the heck. I mean the Jets might be your shining light now. How sad is that? You and the Islanders made the playoffs last year and the Jets are still here. The Giants really got nothing. Rangers got a little bit.
00:04:46
Speaker
Yeah, the Jets, the signing of the year, unfortunately, have been leaving on Bell. Why do you sound so sad about that? It's like the worst signing ever.
00:04:56
Speaker
because I use signing of the year very loosely because whatever, you know, he's very good. I'm not upset that that's the signing of the year. I'm upset that that was the only signing of the year. Oh, gotcha. With so many other people being available, that does look like the worst. Yeah. I mean, not the worst. I mean, he's the best running bat you could have gotten. Yeah, no, I agree. That's what we were hoping to happen for all of the cases. But it'd be nice if you could have signed any of the barber seekers that were out there. Yeah, I know we're good on my receivers.
00:05:24
Speaker
We haven't had any for a while. What's your guy? What's your guy's name? Robbie Anderson. I didn't even know you played. Has he not played baseball? I'll tell you some baseball. You don't have tight ends. Your best receiver now is Lady Unbuilt. Yeah, no, I agree. He might be your best thrower.
00:05:43
Speaker
No, we got tied in. Chris Curran did not believe. And both of them were really good. One of them got hurt, I can't remember, but they both did pretty well. So I mean, not that they're like all stars, but they're both pretty good. But yeah, obviously the lobby Anderson was three years ago.
00:06:06
Speaker
He came in for Hail Mary, you know, they sent him back down. We're going on fourth down, sit down. We're on the steps so you can't do it all around the state. Yeah. I think that was when they had Brandon Marshall. No, it wasn't. I don't know. They had other options at wide receivers. Oh, you had the races. Didn't you have the races? Forgot it was the Eagles. Sorry.
00:06:28
Speaker
Remember the guy that like got dropped the end bomb at the concert or whatever? I thought you guys had him for some reason at one point. I can't think of his name right now, but yeah. If I heard a name, I could probably remember, but not that I know of. It was like, I don't remember. I just always feel like you guys picked him up. I don't see that thing. That's what happens. I mean, John Rocker from the Braves eventually ended up in the Mets and he
00:06:59
Speaker
Brings out the worst in people, apparently. Even if you're visiting. Yeah. He was just a visitor and was talking about getting aids on the seven train or whatever. I do hate the brakes, so it doesn't surprise me for me. The only thing good that came out of Atlanta was Tom Godden. You're going to come, or Greg Maddox, isn't he good?
00:07:22
Speaker
think good from my point of view. Oh, for the men's. Yeah. Oh, I hate. Go ahead and suck when he went to you. Who's the oldest hill? I mean, he was, he wasn't the same time as I've been, but he was so good. He was the best. It was Riley Cooper was the guy. No, he never went to the death. I don't think I do remember Riley Cooper.
00:07:47
Speaker
and bombing a concert with a rapper, that was always good. Yeah, he's a guy with a name where I always think that he might do it. So, yeah, so Laving on Bell, happy with, but that's about all we got. I mean, we got some- You got good defense in the graphics. Yeah, got Moseley. You know, I'm happy with that. I would have loved the receiver, because as I was saying, you know, Anderson was
00:08:15
Speaker
off the bench, essentially. And then last year, you were like, oh, hey, you're in a room this season. That went okay. It went all right. I mean, it's the way it is. I mean, you have to spend your money somewhere, but if you spend it one place, you don't have it somewhere else. I mean, but there's four of them. I feel like you need at least one that's a number one. I mean, you could be like the, I mean,
00:08:38
Speaker
Look at the Patriots, who's the number one? They get somebody scrap number one every year. Yeah, but they always have fallback options. Emadol is their number one. Yeah. And then they've been riding Hogan forever and they finally just cut his ass. Cool. He's gone. Well, the nice thing about someone like Emadol is he's always a fallback athlete, so he ends up being the number one.
00:08:58
Speaker
and everybody else just gets open because there's no number one on it. That's why I thought the Patriots would definitely pick Hunter Rampart from Clemson. He is the next version of that, where it's just like, oh, it's third down, I need what, 11 yards? Okay, I'm probably gonna get 11 and a half yards. Well, they got that. Well, that's why I'm very excited that the Raiders have them out. The Raiders are Clemson West now, because we have three drive picks from last year to the new reform. So it's like,
00:09:32
Speaker
Yeah, so he's there all the time so he gets to see players, so it's like yeah. Oh, it's true. You better not take him to the ground. It's, the sun sucks. It's just, our team is too good. I mean, it's like ridiculous. You see the players are pumping out. It's like, we're going to pump out two number one quarterbacks in a row, pretty much. Yeah. And then we have Deshaun Watson with eight. So we're going to have our last three quarterbacks are going to be number eight, number one, and probably either one of them.
00:10:03
Speaker
First of all, people is me up twice, three times now, because he had one in his high school senior year, his sophomore year in Clemson, and then his sophomore year in the NFL. We'll see. He's still the dirtiest, like one of the dirtiest like on the move. I mean, he's not Michael Vick, but he's got a better arm than Dick does. Yeah.
00:10:27
Speaker
power form, but it wasn't accurate at all. I see what you're saying. All he did was scramble and then throw it as hard as he could. Yeah, they can throw a while. Yeah. I'm not saying he didn't have an arm. I'm just saying, like, Deshaun Watson on the move can throw more accuracy on the move. Well, luckily I didn't throw as much easier. What should he throw a little easier on his knees? Wow. He'll have better luck.
00:10:48
Speaker
You know, nobody on the Texas roster ever gets hurt. No, I've never seen him get hurt. I mean, they haven't had it because his linemen get hurt every year. The same one every year. Yeah, I wonder what it is. Worth it, still. I mean, he's still worth every dip. I can't say that. What are you talking about? He's not worth it. We don't know. He hasn't played yet. And Sean Watson's played on a ripper, isn't he? Yeah. But he'll be great. He's on a man grade.
00:11:19
Speaker
That's why the raiders are going to be good. We got Cokes and Margaret Seeker. Then we get Antonia. We get Antonia for nothing. Those are good weapons. They're running back from Alabama when we got him this year too. And then we got Dixus a lot of help. I mean it's not like we got
00:11:46
Speaker
We're not getting the dictus event we gave up, but we're getting a guy that can do it. I still don't know why we picked Brian first, but whatever. Yeah, we have other people, dude, but, uh, okay. Go for the guy that had the least amount of stats, but he's, his body is bigger. I mean, he's the biggest, tallest, fastest, but he has bad mechanics. I wouldn't know. Like if you have a really good tackle on him, he gets eight others.
00:12:14
Speaker
Which kind of sucks for the Raiders, because they don't really have anything on the deep July. Yeah. They do blitz way too much, but you know. Maybe we'll ask four people. We'll be like the Rams. Exactly. We'll score all them. Maybe. Maybe. We'll see. Well, Antonio just hanging the bomb in the morning bag. Just let him go. We're in Jet Suite with them all again. He'll jump over, people. No, he'll jump right into your sternums. At the bottom of his tube.
00:12:42
Speaker
Like, I listen to that call more than anything. Like, it's like, in a run-up, Hartle's like, oh, nevermind, he just stepped right into it. It's like, the hell, he tried to kill a dude. It works. I thought I was not gonna try to run there. And a phone, man. You know what, that does get you big contracts. Evidently. All you have to do is say, I'm unhappy. I want a new country. Tree. Yeah, Steelers look like little girls after that whole situation.
00:13:10
Speaker
But yes, there was that. Anyways, there was some issues down in New York.
00:13:18
Speaker
Apparently it was a miscommunication between everybody who lived there and the coaches and the GMs. So you have, I guess we could start with the island because that was one of the rougher ones. That's not fair. The Knicks was the rough one. The Knicks ended up worse. But personally, the island, because the Knicks, you kind of expect that out of them at the moment. Well, the Knicks had the further to fall. They had, they had
00:13:46
Speaker
dreams of grandeur. Yeah. I don't know if we're never going to go get that number one guy. Yes they did. Well, I mean, kind of, they're looking to get the man. I know, but like... The man was like the number one for you. But with the Knicks, they're looking for the, maybe the best player in the world right now. That's, yeah, I guess that's true. It's not like you had a chance to go get a vetchkin. Yeah, that's fair. In his prom, or I don't even know who is the best player right now, but... I mean, they were the biggest lap down in terms of...
00:14:14
Speaker
Yes, they shouldn't be playing, like they should not play at 16.
00:14:18
Speaker
I mean, I mean, they have our jig there. It's not like they didn't get anything in the draft. They got good players. It's just, they're going to be so young. I mean, at least the only good thing that they get is that they get to play in the East still. So you still get to play Atlanta. You still get to play Washington. You still get to play Orlando. I don't know. I think just after that draft, it just feels, well, the free agency, if you think that after the free agents, after that day, it seems like because of the whole
00:14:49
Speaker
which obviously they got nobody. It's part of my frustration with this whole thing. I guess we've already started. He makes intending to sign everybody. And when they had those intentions, not like they had a great team, but they had essentially one good player.
00:15:04
Speaker
But they were like, no, we're looking to take a step up, grab some more offense. I mean, Porzenas was a great player. I don't know why they didn't see him. I don't know if it was just- I mean, there was that whole great thing also. I mean, but Dallas took him even with the, and then signed him again. So apparently, I think what they said was the Knicks never told them. I don't know how they didn't know.
00:15:32
Speaker
I traded them. Yeah, it came out after the trade. Yeah. Yeah. But I mean, they still invested in them. I evidently came out with this or whatever. I feel like you can't not. Definitely. Unless like there is evidence against them that you can't from a VR perspective.
00:15:46
Speaker
Yeah, you trade your only, I mean they did it for a reason, to free up that cap space that had two stars. But yes, I'm saying, so you have one really good player, but they wanted like max contract for like the best player to lead. So they're trying to hopefully, Kevin Durant, they were aiming at Kyrie.
00:16:04
Speaker
You know, they had big aspirations as it started later. They were almost guaranteed. They pretty much guaranteed. And they did go to New York. They didn't fulfill exactly what they said. They just went to the other part of town.
00:16:17
Speaker
Yeah, so that didn't quite work out as everybody planned. Obviously signing with the Nets as a soul-crushing. I mean, I was like, oh, sweet, I'll get to watch basketball again this year, because who wants to watch the Knicks lose all season? They were awful all season. Yeah, they were pretty quickly there. That's with Porzingis. So I mean, training, well, I mean, that's true. But I mean, even with him, they weren't like, they were never going to like go to the playoffs and be a contender. But you could still watch him like play around a little
00:16:54
Speaker
replay of the same game. So I stopped watching them and said, oh sweet, we'll have some players this year. I'll get to watch it and maybe they'll get the playoffs. There'll be a reason to watch them. Those hopes were quickly dashed. Go into the next, I'm moving to New Jersey.
00:17:10
Speaker
and selling, I won't have to make 30, but I'm gonna buy one and sell it, just so I can say I sold one. I'm gonna print a picture of a jersey and burn it. Yeah, that was super upsetting. So, I'm watching baseball, or basketball this season.
00:17:25
Speaker
But yeah, then all those songs after I mean obviously this time on 18 people They sound like six people that night after they issued their apology shortly after that Kevin Durant signing They have to put you ever seen the basketball team have to put on the body for how bad they are
00:17:42
Speaker
But hey, we're so sorry about everything that's happened. We still intend to play basketball. We know we're going to suck. This is the process. I mean, the 76ers did it forever. They just called it the process. They didn't call it. They were going to suck. But they knew they were going to be terrible for three years. They were going to be on purpose to try to get the good pick. So now they're up.
00:18:04
Speaker
Yeah. It only took them almost 10 years. I don't see any silver lining. Like there's no sunrise on the horizon like there's, I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel. It's just funny for the Knicks fans out there and just the fact that you haven't won one in so long and you still think you're going to be able to get people to come to you.
00:18:25
Speaker
I don't see the pool for the Knicks. What about the Knicks as a pool now? Because they're the New York Knicks. You still have Dolan, who everybody hates. Yeah, I'm sorry. Literally all you have is the name and the stadium. Yeah, but I mean now you can go play for Brooklyn and hang out with Jay-Z. And you got the new stadium. Are they actually hanging out with Jay-Z? Like they're all buddies? They say they're colliding hanging out with Drake.
00:18:51
Speaker
Drake's a freaking crazy person. You got Spike Lee. Nobody likes Spike Lee anymore. He's a... Yeah, I guess that's true. But Drake's a huge fan. Jay-Z isn't like a huge mess. I mean, but think about what's the last free agent pull you got to New York?
00:19:07
Speaker
The last best player you got was a draft that, and that was the Ewing. Carmelo. You got traded. He didn't come. He got traded from Denver. It was a trade? Yeah. I can't remember. I don't remember. It was kind of a blur. It was a three, it was a three team trade that sent an equal amount to there. You got Carmelo and they got, I can't remember what the six just got. But yeah, it's like, you haven't had a free agent come there. The only person that's re-signed is Carmelo, but that's because he wanted all the money. Maybe you're the one that could give him the best money. Got all the money.
00:19:47
Speaker
And then you let him go. Where does he come from? Was he a free agent? I'll get him around and got him. Because nobody knows who he was before he started playing. Nobody knew exactly who he was until he hit that shot against the Rockets, I think, or whatever it was. Yeah, I know what you mean. When Carmel was on the bench, like poo-pooing, because he wasn't the center of attention anymore. And then somebody said they have a weak link in their chain. And then somebody said that that's racist, or they should be just like, oh, we can't say this anymore.
00:20:01
Speaker
Maybe 20 years ago, people came to know me.
00:20:23
Speaker
He'll probably sign in LA, I guarantee it. He'll take care of it.
00:20:27
Speaker
Yeah. Okay. We'll put you on the bench, Carmelo. It's in case we need to take some freeze. That's all he's going to do. You can come in and take a couple beers for us and they'll sit back. Remember, you saw him in the rockets, they were like, oh yeah, we'll have like a six man. It's like, oh dude, you're bad. You're so bad, we can't even put you on the court. Dude, we're just going to let you go. When Kawhi needs a Gatorade, we'll put you in for a minute. We're going to pay you, just go do something else. You got to do whatever. We'll pay you to be the water boy. Yeah. Clean up his sweat. Can you go find something else today? We'll still pay you.
00:20:59
Speaker
So he left, and I was like, oh, he was a problem. Thank you. It was hard not to like him when he was there. He's not a good player anymore. Yeah, I mean, every year it got worse because you're like, okay, so we have Carmelo, when is this going to start panning out? Yeah. And it just wouldn't, you know, you start looking at his shooting percentage, he got like 30. It's like, okay, well, maybe he's not the same Carmelo.
00:21:23
Speaker
Like he would show flashes of it. He couldn't afford to start shooting bad. And then he started shooting bad. Yeah. But then he'd go to like the Olympics and put in like 40 or 41 green corners. Look at the team, man. Every shot he took was 20 feet from anybody. Like he was going to be wide open. I guess, but still. And maybe somebody's always near you at least. You have to actually take a shot. I guess. That's still in hanging the amount of green corners. I'd like to see Durant do that. What? And make that many green corners in the game.
00:21:53
Speaker
How many? I don't remember. I don't remember. The most is 13 right now, or 14 right now. In an NBA game at least. I forget how many you made in that NBA game. It was a lot. Because I was watching it, I was like, is this dude just going to keep... He would just walk down, they would just hand the ball to him and kick the shot and go in every time. They were just heat checking him. He was like, keep going until you miss. I think he missed one and people like freaked out and they handed back on this one.
00:22:21
Speaker
Don't come out of the game. Don't come out of the game. It was pretty insane. I do... I don't know. That was the last time I think I watched them and had hope was when Mello was on the game. Also when Amayre thought Amayre was on the team. Good Lord Amayre. He thought Amayre had some talent, man. He was fun to watch.
00:22:46
Speaker
Let's see how many. He had the most attempts in the game. Fifteen. In where? In the Olympics. It says Carmelo, single game, Olympic, high for three points, main, nine.
00:23:09
Speaker
but the olympic single game record 37 points in 15 it was in 15 minutes he played that's pretty impressive yeah 15 minutes he made 10 of 12 free pointers in the 2016 olympics he took 45 threes he only made 18 of them
00:23:30
Speaker
That was the game they beat Nigeria, the 3.01. They beat Nigeria 156 to 73. Did you see there was a women's game? I can't remember who it was. It was America versus, it might have been one of the Central American countries. They showed the tunnel entrance, right? What's the view of like one team on one side and one team on the other side? Only if you ever watch soccer.
00:24:12
Speaker
It was so funny. It was so funny. It was so funny. It was so funny.
00:24:18
Speaker
That's great. Um, yeah, so that was the mix. That was, that was a bad start to the day. And then you're like, Oh, maybe they'll sign because after they signed the net, there was like, Oh, Russell's on the nets. Yeah, maybe they'll get Russell. That was like a last hope. It's like, you know, they're not signing all max contracts without getting rid of Russell. Like they can't, they can't support all these contracts. And then a
00:24:44
Speaker
you know, you're just kind of waiting to see what happens. And then like an hour later, it's like, Oh, the Angela Russell's gone. They just, the next couldn't get anything. So they're a sport skis for a team now. Um, then you had, I mean, at the same time, it's all going on the same day, the first of July, uh, all the same day. So then I'm getting all my notifications for the Islanders. I was paying attention to the three agency signs because it's a big deal, especially how close they came. Yeah.
00:25:11
Speaker
kind of trying to keep track. They had so many free agents. They had coke love being a free agent, Robin Leonard a free agent, Andrew Z a free agent. Every lead was a free agent earlier. They ended up signing every lead, which is what
00:25:25
Speaker
I could have probably done without him, but he's still a decent asset. He's not an all-star, but he's not mad about that when he's actually playing with him. He's very streaky, and the playoffs are the best we've seen him. I probably, since he's been on the Islanders, probably the most he's scored since he's been on the Islanders is in the playoffs. He's almost single-handed with me.
00:25:55
Speaker
You can't let a team sit there and forecheck you the whole game and expect it to ever win. It was your brother going, just wait. When they get a PowerPoint, they're going to be on it. It's like, what are you talking about? We can't get the puck out of our own zone. Well, because that's usually what would happen. Usually. Last year was not a Penguins type performance.
00:26:19
Speaker
His fourth one is for sure. Well, then the Islanders went the second one. Played like they'd never skated before. That one. That was very true. That was very interesting to see. I don't know how that happened. The Hurricanes like dominate a series. Not like winning one is, they were, they're good enough to win it, but they weren't good enough to 4-0 somebody. That's really crazy. No, the Islanders played.
00:26:42
Speaker
So what I keep telling people is when they play the penguins, they played the best I've seen them play all year, like in a while. When they play the hurricane, the worst I've seen them play all year. They were so bad. Like watching it, it was super frustrating. Like regardless of the score, it could have been 0-0, but I was so frustrated with why it was like, you know, they're just panning each other.
00:27:04
Speaker
or handing the puck off to the other teams or intercept the passes. They can't hit the net for the life of them. They can slash off from the point and it's going over the boards. They were so bad, just getting smashed. They had no jump at all. I mean, granted from the beginning of the series, I think Matt Martin was hurt. Clutterbuck was hurt. Cizekas got hurt. Their entire fourth line got hurt. But they all came back and there was just no, there was no pardon. Nobody was hitting. Nobody was taking good shots. It was awful hockey.
00:27:36
Speaker
It was. It's just, you really needed to have like that physical purpose in the game. Oh yeah. Which is weird because that's what you had all year. It was a big part of the game. That wasn't one fight, I don't think. It might have been a fight, I don't remember. But there was, even if it was, that's how bad it was. I don't remember. There was no physicality. It's so bad that there was nothing doable about it.
00:28:03
Speaker
outside of maybe the first like five minutes when everybody has their energy. They would have tiny little pushes every once in a while, but otherwise you wouldn't think it was like, you know, 30 games and you're just skating around. Just saw no urgency, no heart. It was really disappointing. It's even funnier. The whole season series, it was completely different. You dominated Maryland all year.
00:28:25
Speaker
And then all of a sudden it's like... Well the Hurricanes definitely got better. They played really good in the playoffs. They played very good. And they were missing a player in that series too. I can't remember which one it is. The young, I think, Spinach and Koppel, I think, was hurt. Because that was the OV. He was hurt, but I think he came back. Did he come in early? Because I thought he was out for my series. I couldn't remember that. He came back at some point. I don't remember if it was against the Islanders or not.
00:28:48
Speaker
But he definitely came back. Which, I mean, it didn't matter. Because they were up at that point. He either came back like two games in, or he came back the next year. Either way, it didn't really matter. They were, the hurricanes were after the second game. It's like the first game was like, okay. They played a good game, the islands played a bad one. The second game was like, okay, that's, you won none at home for the island. They didn't want any at home.
00:29:14
Speaker
you go into Carolina, it's like we've beaten them in Carolina, it's still doable. It's not a lost cause. This is a good team with a lot of heart. And then they went to Carolina and lost the first game. It's like 3-0, no, literally zero chance. They could have won the next, no, I can't even say that. They wouldn't have won one. There was no scenario in my head where they won another game and then they got killed. Yeah, they got absolutely tripped. That's how bad it is. If you get killed on a 3-0,
00:29:43
Speaker
doing nothing or do or die game, then you just had no intention of going in. It's also weird. It's like for as hard as Caroline had to play in the first series and how easy you guys had it to see that opposite where it looked like they were the first team
00:30:04
Speaker
Oh, yeah. And that was after they had like a week off. And, you know, who knows if that was part of what played into it. I don't see how it could because that should only benefit them. But they came out looking like it was like the first game of the year. They don't know what they're doing. Yeah, no sparks. So they ended up so waiting for this whole Panarian situation. Panarian situation.
00:30:32
Speaker
They were, it was them and, was it Buffalo? Who were the top two teams? Pretty sure. It was definitely that one, it was somebody else. But the top two teams were Panarian and then the day of, they're like, oh, the Rangers coming to the top. They're, they've thrown themselves into the consideration. They're like, oh, they're playing pretty hard for them. And Spadans is still the top team. And then you get like a notification, like an hour later. So nope, Panarian signs with the Rangers.
00:31:04
Speaker
It's like not only did he not go to the islander to look at the ranges, he did a huge slap on the face. I mean, not that he cares, it just, you know, as an islander fan. That's rough to handle and that was their big, like, their day ticket signing that they were trying to get. That's a huge, they needed somebody, they need more offense.
00:31:27
Speaker
line, but they need more like individual scores. They need more superstars. So that was that was a huge mess. That was rough. Okay, let's see. Let's focus on building. They had other things that they could do. And there's just people falling off the board that are getting signs. Islanders know where to be found. And then they also had. So at this point, Andrew's Lee is still free.
00:31:54
Speaker
and Robin Leonard's still free. It's not funny. Yeah, it is. It's only funny because we already know what happened. I guess, for you. For me, it's a little sad. I mean, Robin Leonard was such a great goalie. And that's what makes it even more frustrating, is his personal life and how well he played as a goalie. It's like, even if you just go based off of his stats like that, how do you not resign him?
00:32:22
Speaker
and but I don't know it's just it's mind-boggling so you let so the story is that the islanders offered him was it two years for 10 million for five million a year and he said no I want a longer contract or more money or whatever and they gave him an ultimatum and he came and by the time he came back they had already moved on essentially to trying to sign another goalie bottom off which I don't even know why they were
00:32:53
Speaker
He's not somebody like, I don't think, it's not like he was being chased after by a bunch of teams. It was a backup building. I mean, but Rasky, yeah, but not Varlimon. Varlimon was supposed to be a normal one, I think.
00:33:08
Speaker
Yeah. It sucked it up so bad that Colorado was like, yeah, we're going to go to this other guy we signed. He hasn't been good for a while. He's been getting worse like every year. So, you know, everybody's hoping the letter comes back. Players are hoping it comes back.
00:33:25
Speaker
But City is hoping he comes back. He's a great inspirational story. Everybody loves him. One of the Enchanza trophy, right? And he was up for the other trophy, like the best goalie. Yeah, for Bezna. And what's the other one? For like the inspirational player? I can't remember. There's so many trophies on YouTube.
00:33:49
Speaker
Yeah, what's the, so there's the one for best goalie and then there's the one for like most inspirational players or something like that. So he was the runner up for, well, I mean, he was out for the best goalie, but lost, but he was an nominee. He was like, what, the second, he was like the second goalie in the league last year. Yeah, stats was, yeah. Something like that. And then he obviously won the,
00:34:22
Speaker
I knew that. Des knows the best gold tenet. Des knows the best gold tenet. He was up for that, didn't win it. Yeah. But he won the other one. Perseverance. He won Bill Masterson. Yes, Masterson. So he won that one, deservedly so. Everybody agreed. He gave a great speech. And he's just a super good guy. He loved the human, you know, after he became a creator. And he's like, I'm not talking to anybody else. I don't want to sign anywhere.
00:34:50
Speaker
which pretty much solidified in everybody's minds that he was gonna resign me. It was the matter of time, which I think in his mind, it was the same thing. He was just trying to get the best money. Yeah, he was just trying to, with little leverage he had with, I wanna be here. Yeah. I kinda wanna have a little bit more money. Yeah, he's also 27 years old. I mean, he's a 27- It's not like he's 33. Yeah. He's trying to get five years. He's a 27 year old elite goaltender, like a starter.
00:35:17
Speaker
top five goalie in the league, and he wants to play for your team, doesn't want to play anywhere else. Everybody loves him, and he loves the team so much, and he just loves it. They're like, no, we're good. We really like this back-up goal tender. There's got to be something there, though. There's got to be something that somebody's not saying. We really like this back-up goal tender, so we're going to... Get your sources, and I'll understand to tell you what's going on. No, I'm good. I don't want to talk to you, either.
00:35:49
Speaker
So that was a big loss, like stats-wise. It's hard to lose a goalie. That's that good, and signing a goalie, that's not good. But that's also a big, not emotional, but...
00:36:01
Speaker
Yeah, I guess a big emotional and moral loss for the team that's he was He gave the team a lot of heart. So that's that's rough. So So far we've lost Panarin who was you know, I don't know the top team your top shot Lost our best goalie that was essentially almost guaranteed by him and almost by the Islanders and
00:36:27
Speaker
So then Robinson's another team, I don't want to issue an apology saying, or not necessarily an apology, but a little bit, because they got a lot of backlash. They had to say, you know, we wish him the best. We couldn't come to agreement and then let him go, no, I never came down the contract. I don't, I never came down anything. I came back from my ultimatum and they had to really move on. Um, so that's a sucky way to handle it anyway. Um, and then you sign, borrow the bond, whatever.
00:36:56
Speaker
whatever, I guess. I guess at least they signed a goalie who you know his name. That's the only thing I can say. He can have a year. He's got potential to have a year. Yeah. Is he going to have one? Maybe not, but I mean, at least you have Grace. Yeah, but we shouldn't be having this conversation. I mean, you shouldn't, but it's the way it is. I mean. That's frustrating. Yeah. I mean, that's the angel. Yeah. It's solid caps that's trying to
00:37:26
Speaker
I mean, it's more than my record. Yeah. And then the big ticket signing so far has been Andrew's lead for seven years with a $50 million. Way too long of a contract for a guy his age. Yeah. For somebody who, I mean, you know, he's the captain of the team. People like him and nobody's going to say they hate the captain of the team. He's a nice guy. He's a good leader, but as far as like playing capability, he's
00:37:55
Speaker
He's good, but not good enough to pass on other people, I don't think. I don't know if I would have put all in just re-signing it, which I don't think they did because it was sitting as an unrestricted creation.
00:38:08
Speaker
So they were hoping to get Panera and they didn't, and then weren't signing anybody else, so I assumed they called him like, hey, you still wanna play? He was like, all right, cool. It's like, I'm sure they were, they already had something out there like, hey, we're gonna shoot you this kind of deal. And he was just, he was either sitting on it or they were sitting on it like, hey, we're gonna govern this person, but we're still dedicated to you, we're just gonna see. So that was really crushing. It's like, again, I don't hate Anderson, but I... Your brother knows.
00:38:37
Speaker
He's, he does, he's of the same mindset where he shouldn't be, he shouldn't be signed just because he's a really nice guy. It's not like he's contributing that much. He's good. All he does is stay in front of the goalie. He's a good presence in front of the goalie and a good leader. And he picks up the guard and, you know, he's good for, in front of the man. He's good for integrity. I mean, especially with that. Yeah. He's decent, but he's not like,
00:39:03
Speaker
He's not an all-star. No. He's not a sexy name. He's not a sexy pick-up. He's a good player in this. It's like Jordan Everly was a good player, but he's not like... Solid? Yeah. He's like, oh, we need to sign him. I mean, you need solid players. You need people that can do that. He's a team filler. He's a, like, we're building a good team. He's part of the team. He's not a, that's our big-ticket signing. Yeah. And that's all they have. That's your big-ticket signing game. And we just talked about the entire pre-agency was Lost of Man.
00:39:33
Speaker
I mean, we didn't even have our name listed for the big ones like on anybody's. I want to go there. So, no, we made one train. We signed a defensive. Yeah. Nobody wants. We signed forward that nobody wants. And it's like, don't worry guys, we're getting younger. Don't worry guys. We got people in the farm systems.
00:39:56
Speaker
It could be like that at least. Yeah. I mean, we're the Tampa Bay range right here where we have a bunch of people in our farm system that can't make it today.
00:40:06
Speaker
They're good. You at least have the... I mean, we still have the core that's ridiculous. Yeah, and we also have the history to go off of it. It's not like, you know, you're not going to come out and have a losing season next year, like where you go under 500. That's just not in the cards. Telling yourself, Crockett, there's no way we're going under 500. Yeah, but you're just, you just have the organization for it. It's just not gonna, it's like the Patriots. The Patriots aren't coming in and winning lots of fan games anytime soon.
00:40:35
Speaker
You ever done? Oh, great. They only won the 11 the year that he was out. Yeah, so I'm saying that was the year he was out. So, I mean, it's... I mean, Brady and Belichick both go down at the same time. You might have a chance. He's also in the car? Yes, he'll have to be in the sidecar. The sidecar of the motorcycle. Yeah, they're not... You don't have faith in the islands, so maybe you're a fan of those. I think let's have a history to show it. Finally. Granted, they have a lot.
00:41:04
Speaker
a lot more faith in, but I don't know. You didn't have that strong a theme. And that's what my brother, the way my brother put it was, it's hard to go into Create Agency and come out the next day and work as a team. That is pretty hard. That's pretty damn hard to do. You went into Create Agency with probably Panarin, most likely Robin Leonard.
00:41:32
Speaker
And then, you know, maybe one other signing that was just, you know, signing somebody who was available. Yeah. Came out with no, an errand, lost Leonard, signed a worst of all. And then signed the same guy we had before. And we also lost, like, Bill Bluh. There was one other guy who signed with another team.
00:41:54
Speaker
I can't remember who it is, but we lost a couple of people that we had last year. Yeah. So, literally have only gotten worse. It's not an addition about subtractions, it's not only just subtractions. Yeah, it's just people we didn't resign and people we lost. There was no silver lining for that day. I guess the silver lining, I guess if you want to call it that, is Andy Lee signing. Yeah. It's like, okay, we got our captain back there.
00:42:21
Speaker
How much of a ceremony is that when you've lost other things? For me, when you have the same exact thing, the only expectation for me is that you're going to do the same exact thing. If you don't improve your roster, you can't improve what your results were. If you don't change the coaching at all, if you don't change the players at all,
00:42:43
Speaker
I think the coaching was good. No, it's something to say in general. Oh yeah, if you don't make that change. Yeah, if nothing changes from management, nothing changes from the players, why would you expect any different outcome during the year? It's true. The only thing that changes is they lost people. So logically, you're probably going to win West Games. So now I've read the book, hopefully any of which
00:43:08
Speaker
hopefully signed Marner. They're one of the serious considerations for him. But I'm sure he'll go to the main division. He'll probably sign with the Nets. He'll probably sign with Toronto. No, sign with the Nets. The Nets. So it's been a rough week. He's an Islanders next fan. Yeah, I got my radio and belt jersey. We're good to go. We're good for the year. It's almost the year. I got the NFL package and that's it. I still have to go.
00:43:35
Speaker
I mean, there's still going to be a decent team. Like you said, they're not going to be bad. There will be a bad team. I mean, you still... I don't think there'll be. At their current state, they can't be as good as they were last year. Leonard was a part of that. He played most of the games and was killer. Maybe he does good. We can almost guarantee he's not doing as good as them.
00:43:58
Speaker
He could play out a really good year. He's not going to be top five goalie. Could not wonder with him. He was a good goalie in Buffalo. He just was crazy. He just had issues off the ice. He was never like, that's the thing. It's like people will say like, oh, but he was just that when he was good in Buffalo, he just had issues. He had issues with the team and the coaches and he just needed to go. He was a hothead for obvious reasons.
00:44:25
Speaker
So when he went to the army, it wasn't completely honest that he was that good. I guess from an outsider looking in, I wouldn't have seen Mother as being some ungodly or some
00:44:36
Speaker
Cornerstone career team. Yeah, I know that was a surprise when I first saw him in person I was like, I was very impressed. Yeah, the hurricane game was amazing. It was like Just staying outside the whole game was ridiculous. Yeah, nobody expected him to be as good as he was but I I mean I was skeptical of how good he was because of his issues but he came out and played like a star and kept up all year and
00:45:03
Speaker
only got better as far as attitude. And if you start to love him a few more, and that plays into it, and he's getting the team riled up. It's a big part of it. Now that's gone. Bye-bye. Back with the Blackhawks. Bye-bye. Who knows, maybe we'll come back and sign it back to you. Probably not. He'll be miserable when we talk about the hair more now. Yeah. Maybe we'll do the same thing with the apartment. Martin left. They traded Martin.
00:45:30
Speaker
And he was such a big islander guy. He's like, I miss the islanders. I love the islanders. He didn't like playing. He didn't mention it. He didn't like playing for the least. And he just didn't fit in. They signed him. When we went on, it's the main thing. Yeah, I can't remember. But when they came in, they were like, David, Martin back. It was a big deal. He's a cornerstone of the team as well. So we'll see. I don't know. But New York,
00:46:00
Speaker
And that sucks, so it's not even worth talking about. The Mets are good, they're both in size. That's fair. Your team scores runs, you just can't stop the other team from scoring right after the 7. Yeah, no, not blowouts. I keep saying that. Most blown games. Yeah, most blown saves. You have a reliever that has the record for saves and now has gotten more blown, or blown saves this year than he had all of us.
00:46:27
Speaker
Yeah, it's still a lot. You can go into a game. I mean, I watched the game last week. It was 4-0, and the 8th, they lost by 4th. It's just, that's normal every day. I think they did that three games in a row, that series. I only watched one of the series, and all three of them, they got killed. Yeah. Yeah. We need to say, their bullpen is just awful. You know about Peter Longer, right? They're a superstar. I mean, I've seen them. Broke like all, he's breaking all of the
00:47:01
Speaker
That's for like shining star you play The person who's setting all the records in the league. So when we're giving you doing crazy Things they have a losing record by a little bit by 10 games. Yeah, that's just It's bad and there's certain pictures. They're okay We'll see I mean I don't know what's going on
00:47:23
Speaker
It's supposed to be your amazing name. It's not as good as it should be. But it's okay. I would think that. The same respect. You're not the mayor. I guess. You have names. We don't have names. We have no names, people. Yeah. Yeah, I guess. We have Pink Hernandez. That's a nice title. We have Keaton.
00:47:52
Speaker
Good job. It's been an interesting year. We'll see what happens. To say the least. To say the least. I think that's everything that we're going to talk about this week is because of just the timing of the both pregnancy days and being at the first podcast we got a little into depth about how disappointing we were to be. And that's just the nature of the scene. And the organizations have a bad history.
00:48:21
Speaker
Maybe Brooklyn's about to break down. It's just offices. Brooklyn and the Rangers are up. They're just, if you like, then they're down. We'll see if the Rangers are up. That still has to do something. That's true. You never know with the... Panera's a game changer. Panera's just getting older. Yeah, Panera's a game changer, but I don't know if he's a season changer. I don't know. He'll be better, obviously, but I don't know about like... Yeah, how much? Yeah, but... Yeah, it's still the compliment, but...
00:49:02
Speaker
Yes, I think I went down a little bit of a rabbit hole day. We're talking about QVC. Yeah. QVC, man. Christmas in May and Christmas in July in May. Oh, that was on QVC the other day. I watched QVC all day last Saturday because it's Christmas in July. I wouldn't even July one yet. They're still selling. They were selling out. It's like lanterns with like, because the new snow globe is now the lantern. So then it glows. It's a lantern.
00:49:31
Speaker
They would just blow the snow up above it. So it's exciting. Why do you think I did? Of course it was her. She's like, let's watch QVC and see what they have on sale. So usually it's because we got money. We don't have money. She thinks we have money. I'm just hiding there. But yeah, she's like, let's watch it. And then of course it's Christmas and July and suddenly we had to watch the whole thing as an hour long.
00:49:57
Speaker
Because they were doing it because the guy goes on hiatus and so they come. But he's their biggest pull. So they had him lead in to do the crystal syndrome. So he did a full hour of these, you'll never ever need it. And then lands like, let's buy one. I'm like, it's $45 for a snow globe. And it's not even a good snow globe. It's a thin one. It's like three inches wide. That's like an ornament.
00:50:24
Speaker
It was like, when they had on one of those little rollers, like Lazy Susan. Oh. Yeah, they were spinning it. And when you got to the side, you couldn't see anything. Like, why'd they even put a panel over there? How much did that figure out? Nothing. I didn't buy anything. She better not have all the stuff. She's like, do we have a QVC card? And I was like, no, we got the Con Bible. No, I tried. I think I filled up for one, like, three Christmas again. I can't tell if it's more upsetting than that.
00:50:54
Speaker
fly for one or that you got denied. Especially when you do six easy payments, like I'm all hurt. I'm still paying. It's like $4 a month. I see that they come across. I'm like, well, it's $4, but I'm up for four months. I'll get her shoes. It's only $4 because you can afford the credit card.
00:51:19
Speaker
If you get the credit card, you still got to buy it, but it's six of these names. They give you a whole half a year to pay off. So you buy, and they still it like that too. They'll be like, if you buy right now, this $16 thing is only two bucks a month. Like six months. Like what? Why are you doing that? We made it easy. If you had to stretch payments for $18, what the hell are you buying it for? This is a stretch pay.

Humorous Shopping Experiences

00:51:52
Speaker
It's $4 a month. Why did you need the card? It's because you get the easy payment things for QVC or only for certain months. It's like December, they give it to you for everybody. But the other months is if you have the cue card, you get the money.
00:52:09
Speaker
Oh, yeah, so it's like right now if you bought stuff you'd have to pay the full price Oh, but if you buy in December when they have in their extra specials, they're like, oh, we'll give you six months to pay it off That's why I want to get that grill cuz I grill they sell it on there It's 600 or it's like four hundred eighty nine dollars that you get to pay for six months. I don't want the whole easy pay That's the whole thing the same thing easy paying stretch pay the same thing. They just call me a stretch pay is six months easy pay is four months
00:52:39
Speaker
You get the cue card always gives you six months to pay it off. You don't get any bonus. How long have you been working for them? Never. My dad has been buying from them for like 20 years. I remember everything I got for Christmas came from QDC because my dad was all into cooking so that guy in the cooking stuff. My dad had all those
00:53:01
Speaker
We had the Rose History Cookers. He had the air fryer before the air fryers were big. Oh, before they were big. Yeah. He didn't even, he never did get the stupid, the pot up guy, the Instant Pot thing. He almost bought one. His QVC had one. Knocked off. Did he have a CD? No, he didn't have a CD. He's not, he's not. I bet he wanted one. That's all it was for like $4. It's like, yeah. So $4? It's like, they were just in the bag. Oh.
00:53:29
Speaker
same sauce soup for Florida. Well a sous vide is just so all you do is buy the temperature gauge and then the heater and that's it. It's just the element. It's only like 100 bucks. Yeah that's not for that's not for dollars. Obviously not the whole sous vide thing. So I just saw I saw something for a sous vide on this one today. Oh yeah with people's pants. Character pants. I got a ring on who asked them.
00:54:08
Speaker
I'll buy you a gift right now and pay for it in March of this year. That's what you need to do. You need to do that for your wife. She likes to have stuff that's nice. And you don't have to buy it. No, they wouldn't. I obviously wouldn't get the card, but I don't think they'd pay my call. They'll probably have me on auto deny. I'm on a list.
00:54:30
Speaker
What's he want? Nah, we're good. Dead money's no good, dude. Yeah, it's the opposite of, you know, when they bring you on the show. Like, you need to buy this fine product? Oh yeah, when they want your opinion on what you want. Hey, hey, George from Arizona, what are you gonna do with this? It's like, he doesn't know what he's doing with it. Yeah, he doesn't have it. How's he gonna give you a response on what it is? Like, give us your response on what you bought. What are you talking about? I'll do it in two to three weeks when I get it. And like, the things they were selling last week are things you can't even get till December.

So like you're buying it in July and then it delivers in December. Like they're selling us a ham from Smithfield's down the road. It's what they call a ocean liner ham. It's this freaking humongous chunk of ham. But this delivery date's for $11.08 and $12.16. But you're buying one this year. $180 for a freaking ham piece.
00:55:26

24 and better be a freaking football. It's like a, it's for like a, you'd be Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner and you still have luck there. Or just like a Saturday. I could kill a hand. That's delicious. A honeybait. A nice good honeybait. Oh dude, the spiral cut. Oh man.
00:55:56
Speaker
brown sugar and carrot. Sorry, usually. It can't be that unhealthy if it's meat, right? I thought that was enough. No, it's not. I'm pretty sure pork is the worst thing in the evening. It might be the other white meat, but it's not chicken.
00:56:14
Speaker
Give me some pissing off, cause they just like, spindle people off. Oh man, it's all like, off-brand stuff, or stuff that's gonna break in two months. That's what's so cheap though. It's like, if you buy something off-brand, you're not expecting it to last. Yeah, people don't know that. People aren't smart enough to know that. They just think they're fine. What are you guys buying from there? Dude, old people. Yeah, exactly. That's the people that have the extra money to buy that shit. And it's like, oh, if you buy four of these, we'll give you a discount.
00:56:42
Speaker
So like my stepmom will text and be like, hey, there's a case on PBC selling, what? Like, hey, there's a case on PBC it comes with. It comes with like an extra charger and like a stylus, what do you think? And I'll look it up on Amazon. I have like a star and a half review. And the case by itself is like $4. And the PBC is selling for like $19.99.
00:57:03
Speaker
but it comes with all this stuff. Oh, I love the, we've got the Dell e-latitude, like 5,000 series, because with 18 programs, we've got it for less than $7,000. Like, it's like, oh, we're going to give you a printer and all these drivers that come with the, like, and they already come with the printer. Yeah, no, they, here's all the applications that come with it. You mean all the things that go on market? Got it. No, it's their add-ins that are,
00:57:27
Speaker
They blow where the hell out of their computers? Well, yeah, that's its own problem. But they always try to throw in these things that make you think you're getting a great deal, but are worth like less than a dollar. I mean, it's the same thing with like, if you buy like cooking stuff there, they'll be like, we'll throw in this cookbook that's useless. We're buying these utensils that you probably already have. We're going to give you the wire brush.
00:57:54
Speaker
You can only get a QVC here because we have these colors. You can only get black and silver if you buy it from the store. You get from here we have pumpernickel or pumpkin or some shit like that. Some color that who's gonna buy. Who wants to have something on their table that's like eggplant?
00:58:13
Speaker
There was a lot of purples in their house. Maybe in the 80s and 90s? I don't know if you've ever seen them doing their huge containers. They'll have 20 colors. It's firework red, and blue, and purple. And then it's flower, and blue, and red, and purple. And then it's clown, blue, red, and purple. It's the same colors. There's different designs. And they act like these designs are the greatest things that were amped into my collection.
00:58:42
Speaker
Cause they probably were. No, no, of course. And it's the same, and if you ever watch it enough times, you'll see the same people come out and then sell different things. It's like there's always this one really short fat guy with mole head. He always sells all the cookeries, like all the rotisseries. He'll be out there like, you can cook a pizza in this, uh, in this little air fryer. It's like, who cooks a fucking pizza in an air fryer?
00:59:05
Speaker
It's not things that would say. You could. It's like, hey, look at this air fryer. You can do an entire turkey. Yeah.
00:59:25
Speaker
the weird color KitchenAid stand mixer. I've got the oceanic blue. My dad bought it off. He was like, Hey, I'm going to get you a mixer. What color do you want? And it was like between that one, it was like blue. It was like this weird blue and this like oceanic green. I was like, at least that can kind of go in the green and blue. And I have a lot of them. It's not going to fit my new house. Like I have all dark countertops and counters and I've got this light ass
00:59:55
Speaker
I think, again, I think my stepmom bought an iPad out there. It was fine. It was just the iPad. It was like the deal. So normally it's like $3.99 with the iPad. She bought something like that. It might have been a mini, so whatever.
01:00:13
Speaker
$2.99 or $3.99 and they sold it for like $4.50. And so I was like, why did you pay $4.54? Like, you know you can buy it anywhere else. She was like, yeah, I know. Like, okay. So, so explain. So like, well, it came with a case and like a $10 iTunes gift card. Like, okay. That comes to about $4.15.
01:00:38
Speaker
It has wireless connections. It does have wireless connections. Look how many thunderbolt connections this thing has. It says Wi-Fi enabled on it, which they normally don't if you don't know on their Apple box. The QVC box, it does say Wi-Fi.
01:00:53
Speaker
Comes with the charger, they label all of the extra features. Oh yeah, of course. They're in folds. Like, look at this thing. Yeah. Charger with AC adapted. So you can plug it into the wall. It comes with a case. No, catchy. You can only plug it into another computer. It's a gift card and then in parentheses it's a 10 bucks, like a regular font. But the her thing was she was like, I don't like it, but this is the only way I can afford it. Cause I can do always a favor. Totally good cons, man. Cons has odd pants. Yeah, cons probably would be good.
01:01:23
Speaker
Like the, it's the storefront. I'm still paying for that TV, by the way. How long did it take? I bought it two Thanksgiving's a day. God, two years, so two and a half years. I've been paying minimum payments on it. I got three years free interest. What the hell did I pay? No interest for three years. Three years? Mm-hmm. Is there a card? No.
01:01:47
Speaker
Oh, it was just that payment. Yeah, it was just a payment plan that they had going for that month. Because I got bought on Black Friday. So it's like, hey, but. I'm still suspicious because I've never seen the cons. I don't know what it is. It's on Capitol Boulevard, I'm telling you. Go up on Capitol. If you're going to another house, it's on the left, next to Lowe's. It's across from Alpaca. Oh, God. I feel like at this point it's just a myth. No, it's a real place. It's a real place where they screw you at everything. Like, if you want something,
01:02:17
Speaker
you're gonna pay, like we were gonna buy the washer and dryer there, remember? I was gonna buy the, the LT's up off middle. They had them there and they were like, oh, we can give you the washer, we can give you the dryer right now, but the washer will take three months. So we waited, and then three months ran out and they were like, hey, we still don't have any washers and stuff. So we went and we could get a load. Turns out we've never had that. Sometimes we're just selling it. Thought we did. We're selling it, we don't actually deliver it. Could've sworn it, said it in the catalog. Yeah, I'm not gonna get on it though.
01:02:47
Speaker
See, I'm not scratching them, though. It's too cheap. No, I'm not opposed to scratching them. Yeah, I agree. It's so much better. I mean, I don't need a brand new, because as soon as you install it, it's like you're going to scratch it and bend it. So it's the form of pain for the novelty of seeing it in the slower brand new. Yeah. Because as soon as you get home, you're going to deliver it, it's got to scratch. Especially something that's going to go in a closet.
01:03:11
Speaker
I mean, even my refrigerator, I don't care because like when you put it in an actual spot where a repair should be. Yeah. You can't see the size anyways. Yeah. I mean, it's like you're buying a couch. That's a grid. Yeah. That's different.
01:03:24
Speaker
Yeah, I'm like, I'm literally ripping out the dishwasher I'm getting for free. I'm selling it for $200 bucks and then going to buy them straight to debt, $100 to $300. That's like 10 times better. It's like while with you. Are you going to pay for something to do or are you going to do it? No, it doesn't take, like you said, they're not going to hook it in. I'm just going to tell the guys when they deliver it, don't look it in.
01:03:52
Speaker
Oh, yeah. I got you. So they'll bring it in. I'm just going to be like, Hey, can you knock up the dishwasher? Just leave it in the box. Yeah. And now I'm going to bring them on. Are you going to say, are you going to hook up a new one? Yeah. No, I'm going to go buy a script. Yeah. Cause they deliver. So if you buy it from Sears or the, uh, that's fine. They deliver and hook up. Oh, they hook up. Yeah. That's free delivery.
01:04:21
Speaker
that's at my house now. They'd take it apart and get it in my house. They did all that. Well, I feel like it's a separate place. But I mean, they would hook up the water line. It was there. I just didn't have one. But yeah, my washing car, yeah, my washing car when it's delivered, they did all the piping for me. When I got home, it was already done. They even did the steam because I had to have that hot water and extra in hose. They did that for me too. That's what's going to suck about moving. I got to think those things out and then remember kind of hooking back up. They're not going to do it when I move. Yeah.
01:04:50
Speaker
Did you have a cocaine pipeline? I don't believe I have a cocaine in the middle. I did see I have enough trash to make a small recycling collection center in my house. Where? Inside everywhere. There's a bunch of enough cocaine and bottles and stuff. You said Bojangles too. Oh my god, Bojangles cups everywhere. On the staircase there's one like every other step. So you can see like when they're insulating they're just picking their
01:05:20
Speaker
Dude, oh my god, it's ridiculous.

Landscaping and Tenant Troubles

01:05:23
Speaker
I'm now at the collection for side that they overbrought from the new analysis. Once across the street, they're probably done landscaping. They had extra landscaping, so they just throw it in front of my hand. Well, I mean, I guess you're not living there. Yeah. As long as it's gone by the time you do that. Yeah, they're having to do the sidewalk, so they just need to put it somewhere, so they just throw it in my hand. But I mean, it still looks like an eyesore. If you walk over there, it looks like shit. I mean, so does the infant of child.
01:05:51
Speaker
I guess in case I put this in somewhere. Yeah. So for those of you who don't know, which is all of you, if you do know, that's very scary. I'm surprised. Um, so we, uh, with an apartment complex, he calls, uh, maintenance comes take a look at the dryer because the dryer would not do anything.
01:06:20
Speaker
Uh, which hadn't been a problem for a while. We'd never called anybody about it. They were like, Hey, it takes like two to three hours to dry anything. So they come in and they have like an external vendor. So they come in and they look at it and they're like, yeah, let's see what the big problem is. But apparently, I don't know exactly how dryers work, but he like took the back off of it and was like, everything seems fine, but there's still like not air coming through it or something like that.
01:06:44
Speaker
Something to where he was like, I need to go check outside and look at the event. So he went and looked outside and it's the, uh, I mean, every house and apartment has the stupid bed for the air to go out of. Um, but we're on the first floor. So it's as soon as you walk out and you can see it. And it has a little housing over it, but like it's angled. So I don't even know how you would like get your hand in there.
01:07:05
Speaker
So it's angled to keep the brake from going into it. So like the little hood is to keep it so the way the dryer works is if the vent is the fog the dryer high air can't escape. The dryer thinks the temperature is the correct temperature because it tempers by as the air goes out and it heats up it stays at a certain temperature so when it gets too high it thinks it's done it's like oh we're done.
01:07:28
Speaker
because it's the same way like if you had a lot of lint in it and it blocked, if you have a smart dryer it'll go, hey, something's clogged. It'll not pop off all the time because I live in that old ass house. The vent is literally this long and it gets choked up even
01:07:48
Speaker
And I'm like, oh hey, and you go out there and it's like a four inch wide thing of wind to get my dogs. It sucks. So the point of mentioning your whole housing thing, the little cover, is because I don't know how physically how it happened. But so in that vent, it's coming the diameter of it is just a little bit bigger than like a Coke can or a can of soda. But in the event, I didn't see it. So the vendor came in and was like, hey, I figured out what your drawers are.
01:08:18
Speaker
I was like, okay. I was like, is there something broken outside? Because, you know, somebody, I don't know. Who knows? But it's like there's a freaking Coke fan inside the vent.
01:08:29
Speaker
I was like, are you serious? He said, yeah. Come take a look at this. We go outside and it's like 10 feet in the air. So you can't reach it. Somebody would have actually been on a ladder and intentionally put it in there because it's sideways. Like somebody put a whole Coke can in there. And also because of that housing, it had to like, it had to have been either somebody took the housing off of it. I don't know if you can. You can. You can? Yeah, this is screwed in. Oh, okay. So somebody either took off the housing, put in the Coke can.
01:08:59
Speaker
and put the housing back on, or what I think is more likely when they were building. Yeah, somebody stuck something in there. Yeah, one of the construction people, like either... This will be fun. Yeah, well, like... Was it a hole? Was it crushed? No. It looked like it was just bought. Was it an empty one? Yeah. No, it was a full one. That was a new one. That's even better. No, it was new. It was like you could have opened it and drank from it.
01:09:22
Speaker
I was covered in lint too because it was like just smaller than the hole so air could barely get around it and lint was piled up around it so that doesn't help but it just doesn't make any sense.
01:09:41
Speaker
like there's no way almost one of them are no construction. Who's what resident is going up there? Like, hey, these people are pissing us. It's probably not even about you. It's just like, hey, we'll see if I get it. Let's see if this works. I can't imagine that that's like, somebody choosing you. Yeah, I thought there was a wrong event. Because those events are very set of weird. It's like my old apartments. It's like,
01:10:08
Speaker
The first two are the first two floors, and the one separated is the third floor. Yeah. But they think that, oh, it's this one, and it's really the one on the left. It is hard to tell. Like, we could tell which one was mine. Obviously, because mine was the one not drying, and it was cocaine. Yeah. But it's like right next to our front door, luckily. But I don't even know where the second and third floor was on. I mean, I don't look, because I don't care.
01:10:32
Speaker
I don't know how that's set up. So the maintenance guy comes in, he's like, I'm not touching the vendor because you have to pull off the housing because you can't just pull it out because there's no way for it to come out. So the maintenance guy comes, he's like, yeah, I don't know exactly how it comes off. I might just grab cutters and cut the metal and just pull it out and push the metal back.
01:10:59
Speaker
birds and stuff. Yeah. Which they friggin wouldn't mind if they did. But they like the crap on your car though. It's mainly just a dumpster. So I went out after he took it out and it's just like super bent now. He was like, no, I got it. I didn't have to cut it. It's like now you can see an indent where it looks like he pulled out a coke can. Yeah, that was interesting. So guys in school. Yeah, there you go.
01:11:27
Speaker
When we were going through my walk through, my new house, I was like, oh, where's the vents I can make sure because I know I'm going to get clogged. He's like, oh, you're easy because you're on the end unit. It goes right outside the side of your house. I was like, so 10 and a half feet up. He's like, no more like 14. I'm like, how am I going to clean that? He's like, well, you're good because on the end, it blows straight out. They put a funnel straight out. He's like, if you're on the inside units, it's on the roof.
01:11:54
Speaker
directly above your house. Like it blows straight up and I was like, how's that work? Like how do you clean that effect? It's called, he's like, yeah, it's a problem. He can call somebody. He's like, it's a problem. I think it's fun. I'm like, yeah, I have two dogs, man. My stuff gets called every, I have to clean it out every six months or so. He's like, well, you might want to invest in a ladder. That's what he tells me. You might want to invest in a ladder.
01:12:26
Speaker
Um, if that's all in other world, I think I've had it on once. It's just so frustrating. Sunday is noon. Is what? It's in the kitchen with noon. It's amazing. So where they do all the- Who watches the movie? Leon will try to catch me once in a while. She'll be like, can we put it on? I'm like, yeah. I'll get my card. Yeah. And they're like, dang, let's get on with noon. What happens when we see time?
01:12:54
Speaker
I literally haven't bought anything since I bought her shoes that I just paid off them. It was six months. Oh, it was up to scratch. So yes, in July, June was my last name. It was $4.98. That's a little bit sad. I don't know if I'd want that on my bill. $5 for a pair of shoes. I didn't even know it because it's like, yeah, go ahead.
01:13:20
Speaker
I don't know. It's something a little bit painful about it. Six months for like a $30 parachute. I wasn't going to go, hey, let me pay you 30 bucks if I can pay you five bucks. Yeah, I guess I understand. It'd be different if I was paying interest on it, but I thought just spreading it. Oh, yeah. That's true. Why give them 30 bucks when I can make it five bucks a month? And now

Conclusion and Future Topics

01:13:40
Speaker
I've only noticed it.
01:13:42

Well, anyways, we appreciate you joining us. Next week, we'll hopefully get into a little bit more, or next time, you know, who knows. I would like to say next week, but things tend to not pan out. I will see. It's up to you, man. It's up to both of us to be there. I want to say next week, but we'll see. We'll see how things pan out. But next time, we'll get into a little bit of a broader subject. It won't be all sports. Yeah, it won't be all sports. I'm not even sure that'll happen on a draft date.
