00:00:54

Are you doing something big for St. Patty's? No, we work. Oh, that's right. So disappointing. So I will come in absolutely absurd attire. And no, it is not appropriate for work, but I'm going to be wearing it anyway. I would be shocked if you didn't. Thank you. ah Nothing stopped me in the past.

Story 1: Bridger Peabody's Brave Act
00:02:25
Jeff Rogers
um You or me?
00:02:29
Jeff Rogers
ah You go first. Okay. Toddlers are not known. for following directions. If they do start following directions, they typically forget what they were told and get derailed by all the excitement of their many impulses and distractions, which unfortunately I relate to very, very much.
00:02:47
Jeff Rogers
One little boy in Colorado defied the odds and saved a life. In February of this year, three-year-old Bridger Peabody was being watched by his great-grandmother, Sharon Lewis.
00:02:59
Jeff Rogers
His family was at the hospital with his sister. When Bridger and Sharon returned home, Sharon, who relies on a walker to get around, fell and suffered a significant head trauma after hitting her head on the corner of a cement step.
00:03:12
Jeff Rogers
We've seen that too many times. Her phone was not with her, and she was unable to get back up. Her only option was to ask her three-year-old great-grandson to get help. Her phone was still in the car in the back of the house.
00:03:26
Jeff Rogers
Bridger was terrified of the dark, and the backyard was not lit at all. Despite his fear, Bridger followed her instructions. On the outdoor security cameras in the backyard, you can hear Bridger as he bravely comes around the house and repeatedly tells himself, don't be afraid. Don't be afraid.
00:03:45
Jeff Rogers
You can hear Sharon calling instructions to him from where she fell. He manages to get the phone from the car, and moments later he shouts, I got it, Gigi. He returned to where she lay on the ground, and she was able to call 911.
00:03:59
Jeff Rogers
Sharon was taken to the hospital where they diagnosed her with a serious concussion and placed 22 staples in her head wound. She and everyone else knows that she might not have been okay without the help of young Bridger.
00:04:12
Jeff Rogers
Sharon has a wicked scar across her forehead and Bridger, who swears he's not a big kid yet, as her protector forever. He says, when I grow up like a big kid, I can help Gigi.
00:04:24
Jeff Rogers
Oh, love that. Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid. Good on Bridger.
Story 2: Omari's Community Gift
00:04:30
Jeff Rogers
That's awesome. Three years old. and That's good. Okay, I've got one for you.
00:04:35
Jeff Rogers
Do it to it. In Madison, Mississippi, there's a man named Omari who is well known and he's very loved by his community. Wherever he goes, he spreads joy and happiness.
00:04:47
Jeff Rogers
He keeps himself busy helping at summer arts camp, choreography doing choreography for school plays, assisting with show choir auditions, serving meals at Beagle Bagel, all while attending college.
00:05:02
Jeff Rogers
He's an all-arounder, an all-around great guy who works really hard to lift up those around him. He keeps a smile on his face as he does it all. Recently, Romari was in a car accident.
00:05:16
Jeff Rogers
Luckily, though, he was all right, but his car was now undeliverable. Undeliverable, sorry. Yeah, I'm like, that is not the right word. His car was now undriveable.
00:05:29
Jeff Rogers
There's no hesitation in the community whatsoever when they heard this news. Omari was always on the move, and he needed a car to be able to keep up the inspiring work that he did. His friends and neighbors secretly came together to help him out.
00:05:43
Jeff Rogers
Through social media and community outreach, those he had helped so many times before managed to give back a little bit of the generosity he constantly showed.
00:05:54
Jeff Rogers
They were able to find reliably used car, a reliable used car for him and surprised him with it. Everybody was in tears when they presented him with the keys to that car. Friends were quoted as saying, if you know Omari, you love Omari.
00:06:10
Jeff Rogers
He's the most deserving and we are so grateful for everything he does in our community. That's a good one we love Omari. we do. And we don't even know Omari.
