Iain hosts Nicola from Daily Newcastle and Gavin from Daily Fulham to preview the Premier League clash between Fulham and Newcastle this Saturday.

Will Newcastle avenge one of their most comprehensive defeats of the season and improve on their current ten wins out of eleven games record, or will Fulham pick up from where Bournemouth left off in the last match at St James'?

Welcome and Introductions

Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello and welcome to the Daily New Castle. My name is Ian Mackay. I'm the host tonight and we are hosting Gavin Repel, the Daily Fulham representative. I'm also joined by my black and white son Nicola Pringle, the one with the tingle to discuss New Castle against Fulham on Saturday. Welcome to the pair of you. Are you okay?
00:00:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Don't know which one to speak first, do you, right now? Gavin, how are you?
00:00:42
Gavin
Yeah, I'm not too bad. Thanks for that Ian. Yeah, I'm all alright. Not too bad. Looking forward to hopefully an exciting game

Fulham's Chances Against Newcastle

00:00:48
Gavin
on a weekend. Maybe Fulham might be able to spring a surprise.
00:00:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah That's That's the price to everyone apart from the diehard Newcastle fans, that's what you mean. Because we're expecting, that we had it last week off against Bournemouth. We're expecting that, I am. Nicola, are you okay? you're you're You're much more up than that. You're not expecting to get turned over by school, am I?
00:01:08
Nicola Pringle-Adams
no, but I said this when, played Bournemouth. So, um, yeah.
00:01:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Excellent.
00:01:14
Nicola Pringle-Adams
We shall see.
00:01:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
Excellent. Yeah.

Newcastle's Recent Form

00:01:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, in my benchmark for how, let's be a let honest, Newcastle has 10 wins out of the last 11 games and a blip.
00:01:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
So some of them are calling a blip against Bournemouth. I guess if we fail to beat Fulham, that won't just be a blip, it'll just have to be a downturn in form, but hopefully it was a blip.
00:01:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Most seasons recently we've done all right at Craven Cottage and then there have been very very close games at the St James's Park which finally has come out on top on as well. However, we got well into these banks at Craven Cottage at the start of the season. I mean completely outplayed. We lost 3-1 and I think that scores back at Newcastle. Were you at that game? Did you watch that game

Reflecting on Past Performances

00:02:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
Gavin?
00:02:02
Gavin
Yeah, I watched that game very closely and I think that was definitely one of Fulmer's better performances this season. And as you said, Newcastle have had a decent record in this fixture of late. It's almost become a sort of a cursed fixture for Fulmer, so it was nice for it to be the other way round for a change.
00:02:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I thought you thoroughly deserved it that afternoon, definitely. and Nicholas is not old enough to remember when we always used to lose at 1-0 at Craven Cottage back in the championship day.
00:02:19
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Mm hmm.
00:02:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
One particular day at St James's Park, by the way, and this is the day we were promoted so many points here at Roberts Campion. Pull them rocked up.
00:02:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
and destroyed us in exactly the same way that Gorma did last weekend. I mean, 4-1. So I'm always a little bit wary of assuming that we're going to wear rolls, pull them over. Because I think they've had, debt they're in quite good form. At 10th in the league at the moment, Gavin, 30 points, but alongside Brighton, you've turned really into the draw, I suppose, to the Premier League, I think.

Fulham's European Prospects

00:03:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
and And, you know, two or three of those going the other way, you'd be right bang up there.
00:03:08
Gavin
Yeah definitely I think it's something Marco Silva has said a lot in his interviews lately over in press conferences that they seem to have dropped a lot of points from winning positions or dominated games where they haven't got the points that they probably deserve. Weaken was very disappointing because they're playing against the poor Manchester United team and it's almost becoming a bit of an embarrassment to lose to Manchester United this season as it were in recent times so yeah that was a bit disappointing and as you said there's been one or two many draws and Yeah, but you just, you got to get on with it now. I think realistically, the chances of European football for next season are probably over with that result on the weekend. But I think it's it's important for Fulham now, not just up sticks and they've they still got a lot to play for, maintaining their place in the top half. And there's always a chance as well of breaking their record points tally in the Premier League.
00:03:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think they're, what is the record point to tell you?
00:03:58
Gavin
I believe it's 53 or 54 points.
00:03:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
We're at the top position.
00:04:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
So win half the remaining games in your plastic. So that's very doable, very doable. How will we do a Nicola in your view?

Newcastle's Strong Season and Goals

00:04:14
Nicola Pringle-Adams
I think we're doing great. I mean after the Bournemouth game the absolute meltdown that social media had of how poor we looked and how we deserved to lose, which we did deserve to lose because Bournemouth absolutely turned us over and towards a new one a little bit.
00:04:32
Nicola Pringle-Adams
But we're having probably one of one of our better seasons, obviously, our injury curse last season. We're on track for European
00:04:39
Nicola Pringle-Adams
um As Ian kindly put in our WhatsApp chat this morning, he did a, what did you do? A Premier League predictor?
00:04:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
Don't tell everybody about that. They'll think I'm on drugs.
00:04:49
Nicola Pringle-Adams
we Well, you are. Then a Premier League predictor and Newcastle is right up there. So yeah, we're doing great.
00:04:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
I'm going to have to live with that.
00:04:57
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Can't ask for more. So yeah, all good.
00:05:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
My Premier League predictor.
00:05:00
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Happy.
00:05:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
I should have a look back and see where I had to call them, actually, as well.
00:05:04
Nicola Pringle-Adams
You should.
00:05:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
I can't get to it straight away. It's game week 30 that we I think we win at Liverpool and leapfrog them into top 30. Anyway, i'm want all i mean all I'm meaning by that is that there's a lot of games between teams at the top, and they can each take points a picture there. And if we can have a run like we've had, where we keep winning, then why not? We're not that many points behind. Anyway, that's streamland for us. Let's get a little bit more closer to the Saturday's game against Fulham.

Fulham's Squad Updates

00:05:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Have you any news in terms of who's out, Gavin? Who was that? I looked at the team last week um I'm a big admirer of Harry Wilson, but I think he got dropped, did he not?
00:05:55
Gavin
So he went off injured, I think it was about five minutes after halftime. So he got injured and was replaced by a Damatrora. I think the news is it's a twisted ankle, so there's no timeline on when he's likely to but to be back, but I think he is at this moment ruled out, or at least unlikely. The other injury news are Kenny Teh, who's long-term. You won't see him again until probably April time. that's actually something for them looking at in the transfer window, possibly exploring the market for another right back to fill in his shoes.
00:06:22
Gavin
And the other one who might be back for the weekend, it's touch and go, but Reece Nelson, who's who but who's on loan from Arsenal, has played a decent role, big impact in the Fulham team, unfortunately got injured injured in the win against Brighton, I think it was in early December. So we may we may or not may or may not see him maybe 20 minutes, half an hour off the bench. Marko Silva isn't one to necessarily rush back players who've been out injured for a long time.
00:06:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
in the market for a right back, eh? You can do a lot worse than look at here in Crippier, actually. Just sure we've got the strength, the squad depth to be able to allow someone like Crippier to go, although he's been, we may have it, that he's been looking to move away since Bayern Munich was probably this time last year.
00:06:56
Gavin
I wouldn't disagree with you.
00:07:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
But anyway. and We're okay, though, I think, aren't we, Nicola? I don't know. We've got our long-termers. We've got... who it Who's out injured? Harvey Barnes.
00:07:23
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Harvey Barnes, Callum is, obviously Callum Wilson, maybe much new there. I think that's about it, isn't it?
00:07:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
think I think he's retired, isn't he?
00:07:30
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Nick Pope, I don't, you know, Nick Pope, I don't think it's back.
00:07:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh, no. Adam... Nick dick Pope was... He was on the bench last week, so I'm guessing that you stay on the bench this week.
00:07:37
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Oh, of course he was. yeah
00:07:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
because I don't think Mr. Bradford has done anything to warrant him being replaced.
00:07:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Apart from demonstrate over the course of the last eight, nine, 10 games but that he's much better with a goal at his feet. And our balance going forward is so much improved compared to when Nick Pope stood out of play on the halfway line, which he's rather prone to do.
00:08:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
m What can we do? But the rest of them, I think, are OK.

Newcastle's Tactical Approach

00:08:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think we've got, obviously, long term as the cells is think Botman has come back and played a lot of games. And we have got a lot of games coming up as well. So I don't know if he might get another arrest. And they play Schar and Byrne at 0.5. One of them won't play, but probably will come on as a substitute.
00:08:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
I was talking in our pods earlier on about how we've got other players who could come on and give these guys a rest. I think Emil Crass would come on and give somebody a rest in the back line.
00:08:40
Nicola Pringle-Adams
No.
00:08:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
He could easily, easily come on.
00:08:44
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Come on.
00:08:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
just It just seems to me like Eddie's tactics are blow the team away by 60 minutes and then close through to the end. and I just don't think that's sensible tactics.
00:08:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
But if you can't blow the team away, you're running the first team into the ground. Anyway, that's their private system.
00:09:00
Nicola Pringle-Adams
He's not going to do that against a team that we've lost 3-1 against earlier on in the season.
00:09:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
Sorry. sorry
00:09:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, he won't do that. I guess that. Right.
00:09:09
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Sorry.
00:09:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, Priestfield-Fentfield, I would say, really, it's only just the normal sort of speaks that you've got to accommodate all of the time in a score of 25. It's always going to be 2 or 3 who are carrying something and need a rest. So I think what sort of a game are you expecting?
00:09:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
nila
00:09:33
Nicola Pringle-Adams
I am expecting a pretty equal game, to be honest. I've said before that I don't think Fulham are a side that we should expect to go and win against. are one of them sides that you kind of never know what you're going to get. And we learned the hard way at the beginning of the season when they beat us 3-1. I think we went there a little bit complacent and we got beat. So I'm expecting a very equal be honest.

Fulham's Away Performance vs Home Struggles

00:09:59
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Are we doing our predictions now or are we doing them at the end?
00:10:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
doing them right at the end. I was just going to finish this first part by asking Gavin whether he thinks that Newcastle are going to see the Fulham that drew to all at Liverpool or the Fulham that drew, what was it, five days later, Neil Neil at home to Southampton. Which one are we going to get?
00:10:18
Gavin
Yeah, well that's been the inconsistency was for them. Some of the games against the bottom half teams, the bottom three teams they've really struggled against, particularly teams were set up in that sort of low block. They've struggled to break them down in a way, at least from open play. Although I haven't said that away from home, they have been a lot better. They've only failed to score once away from home and that was on the opening day of the season. and So they have gone to Anfield and they were fully worthy of their point there.
00:10:40
Gavin
It's funny actually because i everyone talks about Liverpool getting the man sent off.
00:10:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Where?
00:10:43
Gavin
What they don't realise is up until that moment, 10v11v11, Fulham were actually the best better side than that game and you know against some of the other sides up the top there.
00:10:50
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Yeah.
00:10:53
Gavin
They've they've got results against Not in the Forest, against Newcastle, against Arsenal. So they do seem to raise their games for the big occasion. yeah They'd probably be happier to be playing away from home to be honest because wins at home of late have been a bit of a struggle. They haven't won at home since early December. So on the road, things have been a a little bit better.
00:11:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, although you were very unlucky, weren't you, when to lose at West Ham? Because I know that's part of the bounce that they've got with the great part of that book.
00:11:20
Gavin
Yeah, I mean, they they gifted they gifted them three points, to be honest. You say unlucky. It was absolutely horrendous errors at the back. And the goalkeeper in defence between them decided that West Ham needed to pick me up with a new manager bank. So that they gave them that.
00:11:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
Excellent. Here's hoping they're in the same sort of mood on Saturday. I'm going to pause there at the end of part one and ask Nicola to give us of the message from Denkaster.
00:11:45
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Thank you. Here at the Global Sports Podcast Network, we spent a lot of time selecting our delivery platform. Zencaster came out the clear winner. 00:12:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
you very much.
00:12:09
Nicola Pringle-Adams
No problem.
00:12:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
and But what you just said there, by the way, Gavin, I fear that Newcastle will not set up with a low block and frustrate you. I think, as they always seem to do at certain times of the start, the crowd will roar them on and they will go for it from the start, which could easily be a little bit like just playing something into your hands. If you're defensive strong, to see you've got some really, really rapid-w winged rapid transition players.
00:12:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
The Sandro finale has been able to mop a lot of what got us last year up, I think if you watch that, Bournemouth came back, if you get after us, and they're as tired as they were on that game,
00:12:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
and there's a lot of chances.

Analyzing Fulham Players

00:12:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think it's going to be a really open game, actually, and I'm expecting a bit of a, not quite a goal set, but I think there'll be lots of chances of both ends, but it should be a good one. Now, I'm interested in asking how somebody who we were in the market for for about 18 months and then we switched to his partner and got knocked back in the summer,
00:13:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
And he went to, it was Anderson, the centre a half that came out of Palace and went to Fulham. How has he performed for you? Have we missed a gem?
00:13:27
Gavin
kind of been a season It's kind of been a season of two halves to be honest. initially had to wait a couple of weeks just to get into the team because Isid Diot was playing reasonably well and then he did eventually change it, right rightly so. um mean You pay £30m for a centre-alpha club like Fulham, he's going to start, isn't he? and then he yeah He had an injury, I'm not sure what game it was, he got injured but since that injury he's not really looked the same player and we know Anderson, what he adds in terms of leadership qualities is obviously very tall and you you see his trademark diagonal ball which is normally pinpoint
00:13:57
Gavin
accurate in every game and I think it was noticeable on the weekend the game against Manchester United instead of the lovely crossfield diagonal you saw it was just a hoof upfield and I think he gave the ball away countless times in the first 20 minutes and Calvin Bassey kind of got him off the hook at least on one occasion that match when it was a heavy back pass to Bent Leno so He just hasn't quite looked the same player since the injury you know what a player he is at his best and Fulham saw that because he was on loan there and he was captain when they went down a few seasons back so the fact that you had a loan player as captain tells you what they think of him was so eager to get him back in the summer so there's no doubt he is a top quality player I just don't feel like you seem quite the best of him right at this moment in time.
00:14:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hmm. Yeah.
00:14:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay, what about if you look at the walking red card?
00:14:46
Gavin
yeah He's a walking yellow card, that's for sure. I think he's probably almost certain to be the first player this season to be suspended for for two games for his 10th booking. Obviously there's talk about replacement of Joe Polina, where he's taken that quite literally because he is getting booked in every game seemingly. so But yeah he's he's been a good performer for Fulham, but obviously discipline wise, it would be a blow to lose him for for a couple of games. Although, you know as I said, it is inevitable at this stage.
00:15:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
What do you think, Joanne? Do you think Liquid could possibly be hard enough to accelerate past our own Do-Linton and be the first player to be suspended for getting 10 Yellow Cards? It's got a struggle, isn't it?
00:15:26
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Did you ask me that, sorry?
00:15:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Do-Linton is... Yes!
00:15:29
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Sorry, I thought you said Gavin.
00:15:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
Do-Linton! It's a Do-Linton question! Yes!
00:15:33
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Yes, Yes, um let's be honest, Joe Linton on his day also has a bit of a temper, doesn't he? So that could be interesting.
00:15:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
He's a bit of a destroyer, that was the point of his meaning. But then that would be very interesting in the midfield, because to be fair, Stan de Burgh isn't a wallflower either, is he?
00:15:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
He puts his foot in. It's quite hard in the middle of the midfield. And I know we've got Joe Linton, Tenali and Bruno there. But they might be, but I think that would be a really good battle.
00:16:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Who's the third who's your third midfield player? You've got sam what what formation of Fulham play?
00:16:09
Gavin
Smith Row, probably.
00:16:10
Nicola Pringle-Adams
right
00:16:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
4-3-3, aren't they?
00:16:13
Gavin
Yeah, it'll probably be Smith Row unless he changes it and decides to put Andres Pereira in.
00:16:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh, yeah, yeah. Right, yeah, Smithrow, that's right. As of well. can knock We used to dock him off the ball when he played for Arsenal, so now he's at Fulham, we'll put him out.
00:16:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
be It'll be close, though. that'll be ah That'll be a tight midfield battle, for sure.
00:16:32
Nicola Pringle-Adams
He's a good player you know, you shouldn't knock him.
00:16:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Sorry?
00:16:37
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Smith row, he's a good player on his day.
00:16:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
Smithrow is a good player.
00:16:39
Nicola Pringle-Adams
yeah
00:16:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know. I know, he used to always score. He scored a few against Newcastle when he played for Arsenal.
00:16:45
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Yeah.
00:16:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
Did you not get one when he lost 3-1 earlier in the season?
00:16:49
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Mm hmm.
00:16:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
He might have scored then as well. Yeah, it's dangerous, isn't it? to be and You've got him in there as well, which we always like. He is very, very dangerous.
00:16:58
Gavin
Yeah, well, I think you like him more after that red card last season, don't you? Which, yeah, I think Fulham, Fulham came into that game that actually, funnily, they won the two previous games, 5-0, back to back. And then, yeah, it all went horribly wrong, as it so often does against Newcastle, that same jinx is part.
00:17:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, we'll have to see, fingers crossed. I'll tell you one of my favorite players, and I haven't seen very much of him this year. He'll have to tell me what's going wrong, or if it's just because him and his back from injury.

Fulham's Striker Situation

00:17:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
I love Moonis. Last year, I scored a lot of goals. I haven't seen loads of him this year. He's an easy substitute for him, isn't it?
00:17:34
Gavin
Yeah, well, he's been he's been restricted mainly to substitute appearances lately and he has scored the odd goal coming off the bench. It's a funny one with Fulham fans because if if you look at the goal, the the goal return for him and his, he scored eight goals, is decent. It's not ripping up trees. It's not exact levels, but it's decent for a club like Fulham for him to get sort of double figures if that's the target. But Fulham fans,
00:17:56
Gavin
there's been talk all season if one or two of the strikers don't have a good game about possibly wanting to sign someone in the transfer window and I don't think one second think Marco Silva is going to look at the transfer window bringing in a striker in the next couple of days but yeah one it's just it feels like it's very inconsistent Muniz he came in the back end of last season and was a revelation because he's been at the club for a number of years now never set the word like he went out on loan to Middlesbrough and he wasn't getting the game there so his form the second half of the season was a surprise to everyone because Amanda Brozier, who I think he's at Everton now but he's not getting a kick there, he came in and it looked like he was going to be the man to lead the line but then Moniz got a start, we scored a goal, scored in the next one and then Amanda Brozier's almost, you know, not seen at all so it's been a bit up and down on their day, they can be very good but on their day they can also be largely anonymous.
00:18:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
Today is one of those anonymous days, Gavin. We're going to will it. All right. Is there anyone on the Newcastle team you're particularly wary

Spotlight on Newcastle's Key Players

00:19:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
of?
00:19:03
Gavin
Oh, I mean, of course, Alexander Esak, the form he's in, he's the form man, not just at Newcastle. You're talking in the whole of Premier League. And I've been very complimentary of wax lyrical about this player for for a long time now. And, you know, I should show Newcastle fans don't enjoy the talk about Esak and potentially moves away. And this is always like talks about Arsenal. They need a striker. Esak would be perfect. Well, you know, he he's not he's not going to cost, you know, a penny, is he? You know, so but he's a he's a fantastic player. And I think if you're looking at all round strikers in the Premier League, I think he's probably number one.
00:19:33
Gavin
you'd probably still have Harland ahead of him just because of the goals he's guaranteed to get but in terms of the complete package I think Alexander Eastside is in that play.
00:19:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, I am going to come back and tell you if my 33-1 on alex Alexander Isaac, when the Golden Boot comes in, because I know what you're saying, but he was quiet at the start of the season.
00:19:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
He was a broke his toe, got one goal in the first six, seven games.
00:19:59
Nicola Pringle-Adams
ah
00:20:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
He's up to speed now. He gave Harlan the 10-goal start in the Golden Boot, and he's one behind now. So we have every confidence that Alex is going to of fire us to our highest position in living memory over the thought it would be.
00:20:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
I remember them finishing stepping.
00:20:17
Nicola Pringle-Adams
He's got to.
00:20:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
Nicola, tell Gavin who else you need to be looking out for in particular on our team because we are not. But based on YouTube now about whether we're just a one man team, I think that's so unfair.
00:20:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
Let Gavin know who else he's got to keep his eye open for.
00:20:36
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Yeah, I haven't seen that, to be fair, but if that is going around, that is massively unfair because, let's be honest, the Newcastle side has developed massively. But the one player that I continue to talk about on our podcast episodes, and I think maybe not so much now, but on previous occasions, he was going under the radar a bit because, you know, he wasn't scoring or anything. But it's Sandro Tenali. His game management is just top
00:21:01
Nicola Pringle-Adams
And I think as a player that every team should probably watch out for a little bit. And um and then obviously, like you said before, Bruno another one, Andrew Linton, because on his day, he's good on and off the ball.
00:21:13
Nicola Pringle-Adams
So yeah, there's a few. There is a few, I think, at the minute for people to be watching out for, which is nice for a Newcastle fan,
00:21:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think and hit your pullback will have
00:21:22
Nicola Pringle-Adams
but
00:21:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
limited opportunities to overlap and counteract because both Mercy and Gordon have been terrific. They've been getting better and better as we've continued to play, actually.
00:21:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
So yeah, where we we'll come at you from, and then you don't even, you're not even talking about England's number one right and left back, maybe. Lewis Hall and, live and you know, Liv Remento, who have been receiving lots of school that have been playing really, really well.
00:21:54
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Yeah.
00:21:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
But I mean, that's why we've won 10 out of 11, because everybody's been on it.

Global Sports Podcast Network
I'll pause there. I'm going to ask if you do the GSTN advert. If you don't mind, Nick, we'll come back. We'll see who it is but there who else it is that Gavin's worried about on our team, and then we'll do some predictions.
00:22:15
Nicola Pringle-Adams

experience really very much.
00:22:37
Nicola Pringle-Adams
No problem.
00:22:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I've kind of given Gavin all the answers as to who else he's got to prove himself by telling, you telling him who else he ought to be worried about. So I probably won't do that. That was fair for me.
00:22:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Something we're doing. Why don't we just whiz straight into predicting? And I'm not just going to ask you to give it a score. I want to know why you're picking that score. I want that you to tell me how you think the game will unfold.
00:23:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
I'll start with you, Gavin.
00:23:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
What's your score prediction? and
00:23:04
Gavin
Well, first and foremost, I'm hoping for a better performance than than the weekend one against Manchester United when it was very lacklustre.
00:23:12
Gavin
And to be fair, aside from the goals they've gifted to West Ham away from home, they have been pretty bright. and They'll always have a go. They either go at Anfield, so they'll have a go no matter where they go. And then I expect them to carry a threat.
00:23:23
Nicola Pringle-Adams
No.
00:23:24
Gavin
Obviously, the interesting bit of news will be who replaces Harry Wilson, whether it will be at amateur or wherever he goes for Rees Nelson straight from the start. I think Fulham can get a result. we I think it's going to be very, very difficult course.
00:23:36
Gavin
There's Newcastle go in his favorites. But just on the evidence of what we see in the games away from home, I feel more confident, funnily enough, the fact that it is away from home than it would be at home. so I'm going to be optimistic and I'm going to say it ends in a 1-1 draw.

Match Predictions

00:23:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
All right, good. I thought it would be boring. If I was a full-on fan, I'd be more optimistic than that. I'd be hanging everything on how they played against Bumba.
00:24:01
Gavin
trust trust Trust me, given and recent results, there there's no optimism amongst Fulham fans. The season's over as far as they're concerned.
00:24:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
I can't find it to be.
00:24:07
Nicola Pringle-Adams
No, never over.
00:24:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Nicholas, what's your score prediction and how is the game going to unfold?
00:24:16
Nicola Pringle-Adams
So let's be honest, St. James Park for any team isn't a nice place to come to. It's quite lively at the best of times, but as we learnt the hard way a couple of weeks ago, Bournemouth took advantage of that. So I am a bit scared to predict this. Scared to my predict it doesn't happen.
00:24:35
Nicola Pringle-Adams
I think there's going to be goals from both teams. but I am going to go, I'm going to do a UB and I'm going to go a three one, but to Newcastle. Sorry.
00:24:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right.
00:24:46
Nicola Pringle-Adams
I think we would, I think we will.
00:24:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
How does the game unfold? How does the game unfold?
00:24:51
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Newcastle win.
00:24:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
My life. Yeah, that's the end. That's the end. When we, for example, when we played Leicester, which is you, for now, we'll blow them away.
00:25:05
Nicola Pringle-Adams
yeah We sat together that game.
00:25:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
We'll blow them away. And we were three of after 50 minutes and then we have to be coast through and we get another one. So that's what it meant. I know. m I always go 3-1, Kevin. It doesn't matter who will play, whether it's home or away. And I'll tell you what, I've been right three out of the last five games as well. Nicklin knows that. So why she took my score, I'm not sure. Words will be had.
00:25:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
I am going to, no, as a measure of my respect for Fulham, I'm not going to go for one, I'm going to go back, I'm going to go with it, Nikhaka will win 2-1, and I think that will be gold just before half time.
00:25:35
Nicola Pringle-Adams
I can do the same.
00:25:47
Nicola Pringle-Adams
yeah
00:25:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Probably Ezak. I think you what I think we might score again on the about the hour mark. Eddie will take some players off to rest them because we've got a massive cup semi-final coming up on the following Wednesday and I think Fulham will get one back and we will have a very nervy last 10, which we hang on for.

Match Dynamics Discussion

00:26:14
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Yeah.
00:26:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
2-1. I don't remember, like was it last year? but It was 2-1 last year, wasn't it? Or was it 1-0 the last minute goal?
00:26:22
Gavin
3-0, wasn't it?
00:26:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
When was EZAC's head up?
00:26:24
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Yeah, I think, yeah.
00:26:25
Gavin
Yeah, him and his red card, 3-0.
00:26:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
3-0. Oh, yeah, that was it. Yeah, I'm probably be thinking of the air before anyway, but that's my prediction was going to be to one. I want to care for it because he'll go with me on that.
00:26:37
Nicola Pringle-Adams
He'll go with it. He'll agree.
00:26:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
He's back and then the winner winner. I think the winner is going to be and a half. Either. fabsha If you're not on the pitch, it'll be damper and we'll score the second goal.
00:26:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
and
00:26:50
Nicola Pringle-Adams
that Get

00:27:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
No. Because it's not on the telly though, is it? I mean, you've got one of these clever fire sticks that somehow sometimes gets onto that.
00:27:06
Gavin
you can't say You can't say that. No, no, no. Well, ah as as as a podcaster, we get we get our we got our own ways of watching the game, don't we? Can't give away trade secrets.

Global Sports Podcast Network

00:27:24
Nicola Pringle-Adams

00:27:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Although, most of the time, Fabian Shaw, just phones Nicola up and put this phone in the dugout on the camera from there and Eddie had to turn it backwards and forwards up and down the pitch.
00:27:39
Nicola Pringle-Adams
That would be a girl's dream come true.
00:27:40
Global Sports Podcast Network

00:27:57
Gavin
We'll say a draw here. Yeah.
00:27:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, ah ah two narrow home wins from us. I think we all agree it's going to be pretty close.
00:28:05
Nicola Pringle-Adams
Yep.
00:28:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think there'll be at least four. I think we might have really got the goals wrong. It could could be 5-2 or something. Because if these teams are not on it, I think the forward lines on each of them are definitely the strengths.
00:28:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
Anyway, we'll have to wait until Saturday to see what comes on there. Thank you very much indeed Gavin for taking part in our lovely daily news after podcast soon to be part of the daily full-on podcast I'll let you know when I've done the post-production and you can upload that.
