S2E2: Running it back with DMG

Kicking off another season of Not Us with summer updates, stable scans (!), and more of your regular scheduled yapping. We took a hiatus, but realized we missed having these conversations with ourselves and sharing them with all of you. We’re happy to be back, and as always, appreciate the outpouring of support. 

S2E1: Sorry for the Wait

A few things have changed since we recorded this, and we’ll be back with a new update in our next episode, but this episode gives you another glance into the life of our mom, the primary care giver. Where the three of us get to “escape” to a version of regular life when we leave Boston, our mom is living this experience real time, every day. We are so in awe of her and always love to hear her perspective on everything from being an advocate, to being a partner, to being the world’s greatest mom.

Return of the middle sister aka editor aka LA girly! In this episode we’re reunited back in Boston. We discuss our dad’s recent surgery, the positives and negatives of distance, and how lucky we are to have each other.

We are back with another episode, this time discussing the nuances of our family dynamics and individual relationships with our mom, our dad, and each other. We break down the moments of realizing our parents were not invincible super humans, and dissect the challenges (and rewards) of showing up for them like they’ve showed up for us for the past 30+ years. 

Despite how hard the past year has been, we are eternally grateful for the unique and beautiful relationships we have with each other.

Annnnd we’re back with another episode! This time we dive into all things advocacy around brain cancer. We highlight the incredible things our superhuman mom is doing as an advocate and caretaker, and we touch on other outlets for fundraising, advocating, and getting more involved in the brain cancer community and fight.

E14: Is it BC or DG?

In this episode - a year since our dad’s initial accident - we reflect on what has for sure been our most challenging 365 days ever. We check in with one an other, check in on our minds and our bodies, and tangent… a lot. Looking back on this journey so far, it’s still difficult to process that any of this is happening. We are forever grateful for our family and friends, humor (both light and dark), the team that has been caring for our dad, and this outlet that has helped us so much.

E13: The One Year Mark

In this episode, we talk about the struggle of navigating and processing feelings — good, bad, and ugly. 

Tune in as we discuss our tumultuous rollercoaster ride, while constantly reminding ourselves that nothing you’re feeling is wrong. 

E12: highs, lows, and everything in between 

July of 2024 marked the month our world was shattered. Our hero (dad) was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a grade IV brain cancer. 

Our therapists told us to write down our feelings, but we got bored of that, so now we've decided to live out loud. Tune in (or don't) as we talk about life, death, family, love, things that matter and things that don't, all while constantly trying to find the funny moments in our struggle to play the hand we've been dealt. 

At its best, we hope this helps someone else who's hurting; at its worst, at least it's helping us.
