Speaker: So last time, y 'all realize we should probably go to the McCarty Isles. That's probably where the next token is. And you then realize, wait, we probably need to like go on a boat or something to go to the McCarty Isles. Last, cruise ships are expensive. um So y 'all realize, actually, we can't do that, ah because though we have money, we do not have cruise line money.
Speaker: Luckily, there is a cruise line called the, e I had the notes for it and it's gone, called the historical Arona port access cruise line, which stops at the McCarty Isles. First thing goes on to Garia and then to Stellae and then back to the Arona port. Yay. great ah Great. Amazing. That means there is a cheaper pathway to get to the McCarty Isles. Unfortunately,
Speaker: There is a caveat and that is y 'all must be in full fucking larp historical mode the entire time on the on the ship or else you will be charged a fee. Have you heard about this magical fee yet? No, but now you know the reason why you have to stay in character. The fee is they take like seven brain cells every time you're out of character. At least seven. At least. But like seven is just a weird number in general. So that's probably why they take it. It's like how it's always the left nut. Yeah, it's always the left nut. Also, I'm about to do drugs.
Speaker: but think Meanwhile, I'm trying to make sure that Phoebe doesn't come running across here because I have everything set up and I don't want her to knock into the mic. So I'm just like trying to keep her off the desk. My eight age humans are not doing good today. I keep finding things on my desk and immediately wanting to play with them. So um that's where we're at. We're fidgeting today, everybody. um So.
Speaker: Where we left off was you basically telling Solas, hey, we're going on a cruise. ah It's shipping off next Sunday. And now it's that next Sunday. So Solas has her bag together, which is a pink duffel bag, which also has like wheels to it.
Speaker: And for her outfit, she kind of went a little bit more piratey. She kind of has like loose fitting like joggers that have um that have sort of like a tan sort of like parchment e color to them and then like a light pink.
Speaker: a shirt with like almost a lace -up sort of ah corset to go along with it. And her hair is in pigtail braids, so it doesn't go all crazy. Here's the fun thing about growing up on the Citadel, guys. Y 'all didn't have boats there, which means y 'all never traveled ocean. So I'm going to need y 'all to roll of which one of you is definitely going to get seasick on this bitch.
Speaker: I already fucking know it's gonna be Ena. She doesn't like heights anymore. It's gonna be Ena. What are we rolling? It's like a constitution or whatever. Y 'all are gonna be rolling. I i am not in roll 20. I am the failure today, everybody. Will check willpower check? I'm gonna say con. I have to pick up my baby.
Speaker: Baby Esme picked up. It's gonna be enough. Baby Esme picked up, so I have to be, I have to pick up Baby Esme. You saw me holding my baby, so you must hold your baby. She like walked up and yelled at me to be picked up and I'm like, fine. That is a nine total. I have a total of 10.
Speaker: Y 'all are both gonna get a little bit queasy on this bitch. Uh -huh and Okay, so we're on the boat now, right? We're about to get on the boat. Yeah, you're on the port getting ready to basically get onto the boat. Okay, quick rundown, because I know that I said that I was going to pick up supplies from the Alcindor Temple, and then I was going around town buying up stuff.
Speaker: Tell me all the things that you bought prior to this, and then we will continue on with the boat. So I know we bought the special backpack for Kyle. I mean, have that in your inventory, right? Yes. Then we bought the potion holster for Solas.
Speaker: right? sole is Because Solace is speedy and quick. We have the three, it was three health potions, right? Yes, but I think the holster holds four. It holds four. So you would automatically have those. um So I have real quick, what did the backpack do? Because I wrote it down but I forgot to write the description. It had the charging stuff for your guns. Okay.
Speaker: so you can put the guns in there. this And I figured like, you know, would be smart enough to know like, cause I have a feeling like for every special Al Cinder child's birthday, what Al Cinder would do was dump them in the middle of the woods and just have a knife and say, survive for the next year and you're fine. Like when they turn like four, like that's Al Cinder's special present for you.
Speaker: So I feel like Ina immediately knows what she would need to buy, right? They call it the reckoning. Yeah, that's what they, new lore, there we go. So do we think we need bedrolls? Probably not. Probably not, we're not gonna have to like go camping in the woods or anything like that. Probably not at this current stage, no. Okay, so Ina, I mean, again, Ina's never been on a ship, so she has no idea what to expect.
Speaker: So we wouldn't need a blanket.
Speaker: Again, I think she's only buying stuff that she thinks would go on ship. And she sees like, I feel like someone would have told her what a ship is at some point, right? Like, Oh, yeah, it's on the water. You know, would know what a boat is. I don't know. Have they ever practiced? Do we think they practice like ship warfare?
Speaker: I mean, it's a type I think you probably like learned about it. You probably don't know a lot about ships in general, but you know a lot about fighting on them. OK, so things I'm going to put in things bought. So a compass that would make sense, right? Yeah. So compass. I don't think she would want to buy a chain or cords. Hmm.
Speaker: She would definitely buy Flint and Steel. Murphy is all up on Kyle right now. I know. It's because I've been sleeping with my door closed lately because we've changed a few things and Binks is no fan of that. So fear I feel like for Murphy, she would buy a set of lockpigs. I mean, Murph would definitely like Murph went out and bought new clothes. That's for sure. Did y 'all fucking pack your goddamn armor?
Speaker: Yes. That I made for you. Okay, good. So I bought lock picks. She is shedding like freezing right now. Would I buy a frying pan? I mean, it would be the backup weapon. Okay, so definitely bought some rope. I'm gonna say because it's 20 yards. I'm gonna say she bought it for she bought 40 yards of rope.
Speaker: How much is this all going to come out to? Well, they have it listed as like silver pieces, copper pieces. I'm keeping, I'm writing it down and then I'm just going to take it out of my money and I feel like they're all going to be like however many fillers. Would Murphy need smoke bombs? Not really. Okay. Definitely a spy glass.
Speaker: Um, I don't know what a stinker is. me It's my cat. i feel like she would have why aren She literally just smells so bad a lot of the time. You realize they make torches, they make like baby wash wipes for cats. We have them. I just meant like, whenever she poops,
Speaker: Well, yeah, that makes sense. She's still a year later is having liquid poops and we can't figure out why. I feel like she would have bought herself a backpack. Would Solas want a backpack? Solas has tote bags and ah different crossbody messenger bags, so. OK. We don't need any gears or stuff like that.
Speaker: no tools we would need because all of this is for like forging and stuff like that. And Ina doesn't remember how to, she doesn't have access to that yet. um For clothes, I feel like when Ina made like the armor and stuff, she also made like good like travel shoes when she made that for you guys.
Speaker: And then I feel like she would have bought like rations, but like and know I don't know if she would have or not. Professional gear, anything in here.
Speaker: um
Speaker: Would she have bought a healer's kit? Is anyone good at healing? Like, do we have anyone? I asked you guys while we were doing this, hey, am I going to be the healer again? And one of you said, no, we'll be the healer. And I said, OK. And then that didn't happen. So. Well, I'm asking because like Murphy has stuff like that, you know, life and everything. No, no, we're just not. OK, so I'm buying a healer's kit.
Speaker: but if you water out see
Speaker: She's like trying to get on my lap but there's not a lot of room so she's digging her claws into me. Okay, I think she would have bought rations for one week's travel and she would have bought it for three people times three. Okay, I don't think she would have bought anything else.
Speaker: fuck Because again, she doesn't know what to expect. And plus wherever we land, she can buy more shit. Potentially. Did I earn any money while working for the week?
Speaker: um I did a D100 last time. I think so. Okay, ma 'am. No. Both of my players are fighting for their lives with their cats right now. I just need everyone needs to know that. Well, Phoebe likes doing whatever I'm doing. Murphy just has to see me all night. That's not gonna help me.
Speaker: If anything, I just have my bottle that I threatened to spray her with and I never spray her and she'll skin out. yeah Man, don't you dare start the buff apps. I just pick up our game for a word. You earned an extra 300 this week, not a very good week. Not the heavy person lulled week. That's OK. Allie, what about me?
Speaker: You were doing stuff in the temple. OK, so temple, which we agreed was around 30 spillas a day, right?
Speaker: Something like that. Yeah. And how many days would you have gone? What was it? It was like seven days from. Yeah. So I would say I worked like five of those just so I'd have two to prepare. OK, you have 150 fellas added to your. OK.
Speaker: Murphy, I'm doing this because you're in the way. Compass. You said one hundred and fifty. Yeah, I just made this earring because I got distracted. My ADHD is wild today. Yeah, you have 683 fillas total.
Speaker: we
Speaker: So all in all, I spent 147 fillas. That's not bad. Okay.
Speaker: I now have 998 fillas for those keeping track.
Speaker: Okay, so. You guys are right outside the boat. um It's like in the port area where you guys would like basically get checked in to go on said boat. Solace is wearing the outfit that she I told you she was wearing before. She also has heart sunglasses on. Cute pirate. Cute pirate.
Speaker: um Oh, ah one thing I want to say is since Murphy did get new clothes, they're trying out new style, which is um they're trying out streetwear. OK. So they have that those like baggy pants with like ah boots. Mm hmm. And ah they have like a long sleeve crop top on as well. Oh, adorable. Love it.
Speaker: the ah Solus is just like, okay. um So it looks like we sail off within an hour. They should be letting us on within the next like, I don't know, like five minutes. Does anybody need any snacks? Any ah like ocean sickness meds just in case. I don't know how you guys are like ocean travel wise.
Speaker: I mean, I've never done it, but I've so I've heard of ah seasickness. It don't sound fun. No, it's not really the greatest time.
Speaker: ah um
Speaker: Picture like being drunk without actually being drunk. I mean, I've never been drunk, so. You don't really have. I've only ever had drinks to like.
Speaker: god There's a cat hair in my mouth.
Speaker: she's fucking This cat is insane. Oh my God. um I've only ever got a like gotten the had drinks to, I don't know, get like slightly buzzed and then I call it there. Yeah, I get that.
Speaker: um Yeah, but if y 'all need anything before we go on and as soon as, so it's like. kind of finishes that small tangent. You hear over the radios, ahoy mateys. And welcome to the, fucking I forgot the name of the ship line again. Ahoy mateys, welcome to the Verona port cruise line. Zoe, if you let me finish. I thought you were still trying to figure out what it was. No, I just had to flip over to my note tab. I was trying to be helpful, I'm sorry. That wasn't helpful. I'm so sorry.
Speaker: ah Ahoy mateys and welcome to the historical Arona port. We're so happy to see you here and we can't wait to do some historical pretend with you.
Speaker: Keep in mind, all shit mine safety measures must be maintained throughout the entire ship. So yes, we are playing pretend, but you do not have to walk off the plank. If you get me, no, we are keeping everything safe and everything has to be 100 % liable. So there will be no drinking, there will be no actual tomfoolery, and there will be no fun actually on this ship. You are here to learn, people. So we will see you there.
Speaker: Oh, have a great rest of your day. and It's like the shitty Disney music. like um um After sorry, after they say ah safe and whatever, after they say that the ship is going to be safe, yeah Murphy wants to do a um like perception check to see if there's anything shifty about the boat.
Speaker: No, there's nothing shifty about the boat. It looks like ah the best way to explain it is it looks like a wooden pirate ship, but you can tell that that that is mostly um like ornamental it's actually very like if you look closely at it you can see that it's not wooden it's actually made of like iron and there's like stuff like it's like a good size ship but it's like very safely created fair enough there is a fake plank on the other side of of the ship but as as you heard hey don't walk off that thanks
Speaker: All right. So as of this moment, Ena's, she's running up to the ship. Okay. oh She's literally no extra additives or anything. She's just wearing her armor with her sword at her side and her backpack on. And she's like,
Speaker: Oh God, I forgot Ina's voice for a hot second. And and she's like, I'm so and would not let me go. I told them today that I was going on a cruise.
Speaker: and because I had to go on an adventure. I did not follow what you asked me to, Murphy, ah because ah anytime that I tried to bring up anything to Mako, they would just go, shush, shush, shush, shush, you'll need to say nothing, even though that's not Marco's voice. She's pretending that's ah that's Marco's voice.
Speaker: like it's like It's like fantasy nerd, yeah but like in the bro voice. Yeah. And then she goes, but I was able to quickly pick up all the stuff that we was, that I wanted us to get. And so she's like opening up her bag and she's like rubbaging through everything. And she goes, I got a cold face, some flint and steel, wheat stones. And then she goes, and then she pulls out the set up, like, I guess like the lock pick kit. And then she goes, I got this for you, Matthew.
Speaker: And then hands it over to Murphy. So now Murphy has the lockpick tools. You see Murphy spends like a good three minutes trying to figure out which pocket to put it in because these pants are so new and they're like the streetwear cargo pants. You know, opens up your backpack and puts them in your backpack.
Speaker: I mean, I have like 70 pockets on these, but I don't know why they put so many pockets on these pants. It's insane. I know them has like, you think I could put snacks in one of them? I think that'd be fun. Probably. I wish, you know, it'd be really cool if I had like a pocket that I could just have like, you know, infinite food. That would be so cool. Ina pulls out her Detective Ina notebook and writes that down.
Speaker: I don't think that's like physically possible. And even if it was physically possible, how where would the food come from? I mean, my best guess right now is it would I would just. I don't know, portal into a grocery store or something and just. OK, so you weren't thinking about it coming from literally nowhere that you were thinking like logically, you can't just like make things things have to like.
Speaker: No, things just don't appear. You got to let take them from something like, what is it? Like matter can't be created or destroyed. I've been reading a lot of physics books. Matter can't be created or destroyed. So technically you can't just create things out of nothing. It's got to come from somewhere. And then all of our characters look back at the last campaign that Oswald, and he's like, what? Like we directly look at Oswald through the fourth wall. How deadpool shit are we pulling here? I was once like, fuck off, if I have fun. What do you mean I came from the dreamscape?
Speaker: Anyway, callbacks aside. Ina continues to like list off everything she has. And she's like, and I still got all those bushels of rosemary and sage. And I also have these weird mushrooms and like, weren't they like weird glowing mushrooms? She's like, I don't know if these are edible, but they could be useful. And then she goes, and then I have, and then she pulls out the, did I tell you guys about the under key? Yes, this is like the fifth time you asked. I always forget shit.
Speaker: ah She pulls out and then I got the undercan here and and then all sorts of other cool stuff. I also bought a healers kit because you never know when someone might need some healing. I don't promise that I would be the best, but I have learned a little bit about healing thanks to battlefield treatments. Worst case scenario, I just chop off one of your limbs. I mean, I'd prefer you didn't.
Speaker: I'd also prefer you didn't. I don't know how God anatomy works, but mine don't grow back. I would just say they just you i was about to say they just grow back.
Speaker: I mean, many years do because you guys do a lot of fighting, but I don't know about mine. So let's a plant. That's your shit. Of course, it grows back. I've never tested the theory and I don't want to start now.
Speaker: I wouldn't say, yeah, test the theory, but I am saying technically you were grown from a pot, which means you are a plant and plants grow back limbs all the time.
Speaker: You want to test the theory and she slowly pulls out her sword. I feel like we'd get kicked off the boat if you cut off my arm. Not an arm like Pinky. That would still be way too inconvenient.
Speaker: So um after about five minutes, the gates for the ship open and there's like, all right, everybody, time to get on. And you notice there's maybe like 20 people waiting in this like waiting room for this ship. It's nothing like how other cruise lines seem to be like because In this area there's like a small area for this ship but like all the other cruise lines are around also. All the other cruise lines seem to have like an ongoing onboarding of people that like range between 300 to around 1000.
Speaker: just like people ah ah like it within like an area. It really depends on how big the mortals are, because some vary in size. But it it's like a vast, like a huge number of people compared to the amount of people that are about to be on this ship.
Speaker: um So as the gates start opening and people like this very small 20 ish amount of people that are here. So this like turns and looks at sort of like a um more of like, I'm trying to think, and like a deer folk from like the wild folk area. And she just goes, so like, what made you choose this cruise line over? And she like is poking over and they just go, Oh, we just needed to get to Korea just like really, really, really quickly. And we did not feel like spending over a thousand fillers on it. So we thought we would just like,
Speaker: fight through this and still get to where we need to go. And so I was like, okay, so this seems to be like everybody's like last resort cruise line then. And they're like, and she's just like, okay, that tracks then that makes absolute sense. Okay. As you guys go up on the bridge to the actual ah cruise line,
Speaker: There is somebody that's taking names and then giving keys to rooms at like the very beginning of it. And obviously since there's only like 20 people, it takes no time to go up to the guy. Solas like stands in front of him and then looks at you guys and be like, did you guys get one room together? How exactly did you guys choose and what name is the reservation under?
Speaker: I mean, Ina was the one that bought the tickets. I don't even think Ina specified. She was just like, three tickets, please! And slammed money down. What been what would have been like the name you gave? like and I feel like it would have been, ah literally,
Speaker: Serena, and that's it.
Speaker: Okay, well, I was gonna say Lola. Wow. Solas, you can tell I've been screaming Lola's name a lot. ah Solas. um Who's Lola? my new My dog, you've seen her. Oh, I was like for a hot second. I was like, is this a new girlfriend we don't know about? No, it's my little friend. Screaming Lola's name, shut up. yeah I'm a...
Speaker: Listen, I don't know. I mean, technically, you can still scream names if you're ASL. I know you're talking to Lola. It's just in a different context. I just forgot the Lola's name for an accent. No. So, so let's just go.
Speaker: That was my shit. That was, uh, Solas just goes, um, Serena. And this little guy just goes, oh yes. And gives us three keys and goes, so this is one room. It has three. And instead of saying what you would think he says beds, he just goes, places to sleep. And Solas just takes all three of the keys and goes, okay. And he goes, you are room 103. Have fun.
Speaker: And then he stops and goes, no, not too much fun. I feel like, as Ina is about to like you know like did the do the whole step into the boat, she's like extremely nervous like when she was stepping into the train. She does not like this.
Speaker: Bad news, this is going to be a much longer trip than the train. I know. And so she's like, and then steps onto the boat and then is like braced for like something to like jump out at her. And she's like, not too bad. And she like relaxes, but she's still like super stiff. Ina, come on.
Speaker: You know, we need to get to our room. And there's three keys, just give me one of them and I will make my way there shortly. think So let's just jingle all three of the keys. But come on. Ina then does like the slow side step out of frame. I don't know if he just walks on the boat. Ina does not like this.
Speaker: And once they're like, I guess like inside the part where like you go inside to the room, she like, yeah not as stiff. Um, it looks like a, uh, I'm pretty sure you guys have either been, either been on cruise or seen like cruise content online. Instead of it being like this beautiful hallway, like normal ship lines like have, um, it's like, it has dark wood floors and extending around the dark wood floors is like the full, like,
Speaker: Ceiling and walls are all the same dark wood so it's like a weird tunnel almost situation and all of the doors are kind of like this is dingy white color that very obviously they need retouches on but they're not like they don't they They have not done any retouches. um You can't tell if that was a choice. They don't have the money for the retouches or just that they simply do not care.
Speaker: um So my ADHD is way too out of control today. um Yeah, my I remembered my computer has a magnet and that earring I just made can stick to my computer and that's all I'm paying attention to. So Solis finds the room that says 103 and it looks very like it's a it's like Carved in and then has like this like almost could be filigree around it and it's like with kind of rubbed off like Gold leaf that was on it. So it's like halfway there So let's put one the keys in and you notice instead of beds You notice you remember how the guys said places to sleep and not actually beds um It's three hammocks
Speaker: a I feel like Ina, does it smell? um It it kind of has the smell of like pine saw, like someone attempted to clean. her But that's gonna be like the really the only smell. And there's like a tiny bathroom off to the side, but on the bathroom it does have a sign that says, this is not historically accurate, but we were told we had to have these in here.
Speaker: So Ina sees the, what is it? The hammocks and she immediately like throws her stuff onto one and jumps into one and she feels right at home and she goes, this is exactly what my room looked like when I was seven.
Speaker: It even looks a little familiar to me because I've been like in my travels, I have slept in hammocks all the time. So. I am not one to sleep in hammocks. I normally sleep on ah a down feathered mattress, but this is fine, I guess.
Speaker: Ina goes, plus, hammocks do cool things like this. And then she starts doing the swing thing. And then she like swings herself around once. Like, woo! Just breaks. Should roll a Constitution check for for the hammock.
Speaker: yeah Yeah, big, strong, beefy lady breaks hammock.
Speaker: Oh god, that would be funny. After about like 15 minutes, ah there's a little voice on this on the speaker system that comes out that says Hello, we would like all guests to come out on the front deck so we can talk about the rules, safety measures, and what is expected of you on this cruise. Please be out by the next 20 minutes. Thank you. Speedboat. I was going to say, that's a speedboat or a jet ski.
Speaker: just as You know, you are you know, when you always when you get on like a big boat, there's always that one asshole on a jet ski that like circles the boat a few times. um All right, so, you know, I feel like you know, would just take literally everything with her everywhere. Oh, you know, has her backpack ready her sword on her hip.
Speaker: Uh, and then she's like, oh, you guys ready? Uh, so, so this stops and goes, you know, you don't need to bring everything.
Speaker: Why not? be Because it we, I promise you, you probably won't need it. You never know. And she like, I mean, I'm pretty sure, I'm pretty sure you won't need it.
Speaker: All the funny tears, the weird mushrooms. I don't think you'll need to do that particularly right now. Yeah. Okay, fine. And then she literally just like you just hear this backpack slams onto the floor in no regard. You can bring the sword though, because sometimes people are creepy. Well, yeah, why would I leave my sword up in here? That's just kind of stupid. You never go anywhere without a weapon. Solas looks down on her person. It's okay.
Speaker: Murphy does the um pocket padding, because again, they're not used to all these pockets, but you just see them like pat every single one of their pockets. You have a gun? Should I roll like a D100 to see how many pockets I have? Jesus Christ. That'd be hilarious. Roll for a pocket check? Yeah. Allie, genuinely, what should I roll to see how many pockets I have?
Speaker: Do a D8. I was not saying no. Roll a D200.
Speaker: yeah curiosity here Out of curiosity, I want to see how many pockets out of 200 I would have. Oh, only 73. That's not that bad. That's not bad. But a roll of a D8 would be? I have three pockets. Is that auditary is that in addition to the regular pockets?
Speaker: Yeah. That's such an awkward number of pockets. is they wanted They wanted a non -symmetrical look. Okay, that's fine. Yeah, you do see you do see that the crop top is like hanging off their shoulder a little bit. oh Okay, so in case you don't have it already in here, Kyle, this is a great reminder that you have literally a sack full of tiny knot tiny axes.
Speaker: that you could use as as weapons. Remember when I was searching for Mars, because I saw Mars, I gathered up all the tiny axes and I put them in a pouch and Ina's going to try to figure out a way to put rooms on both the pouch and on the tiny axes when she eventually finally can do enchantment. And andantly and they'll be in enchantment and they'll be able to.
Speaker: But she's gonna try to figure out a way to have them, like if you throw them, they can return to the bag, like after they're thrown and they hit something and they can bounce back to the bag. okay That's like, as soon as as soon as we level up, I'm fairly certain I'm able to get enchantment.
Speaker: I think Murphy's going to take like five of those and just stuff them in one of their pockets just so that they have them just in case. You literally could put the pouch on your person. It's in a pouch that can tie around your waist like a belt. I thought they were like in the backpack. No, they're in a pouch and I made it so that the pouch can like be on your belt. So it's like it's like a holster, but it like sits on your side like the potion belt. OK.
Speaker: So in that case, I hold the pouch.
Speaker: And then you have a pouch filled with, I don't know how many tiny axes. We never specified. I think it was like 11 to 15. That sounds about right. 11 to 15? Question mark?
Speaker: All righty, I guess we go up to, where did they say for us to go? but front The front deck. The front deck. All right, here we go.
Speaker: ah Okay, so when all of you guys show up on the front deck, the rest of the, um I guess like participants. ah are up there with you. And the person on the deck is a small dwarf who seems to be having way too much fun with this. um And the they go, ahoy, mateys! Wow, this is a much bigger crowd than we're used to.
Speaker: 20 people. I was about to say, I look around and I'm, Ina's like whispers over to Murphy and she's like, there has to be at least 50 people here, right? No, there's like 20 people. Oh, and Ina like starts counting again and for some reason, because again, I put on that backstory sheet, she is not good at math.
Speaker: She knows basic math for certain things, but counting is not one of them. After the guy's just like looking around like, wow, this is like a larger crowd than we're used to. um He just like...
Speaker: So, first we'll start off with the port schedule. By 5 p .m. today, it is 8 a .m. now. We will be at the McCarty Isles. We know short trip for y 'all. We're so sorry. um We know how much you would much rather stay on here a little bit longer. Unfortunately, that trip is just a little bit short. I kind of like whispered at Ina and Solace and I'm like, I think I might actually have a little bit of fun with this. I don't get to do stuff like this, like ever.
Speaker: Now, ah the participants that are staying but through Garia and Stella, you will be here for a full day and a half to two days. We are so happy to have you here. Jesus.
Speaker: um And he's just like, he seems to be having a good time. Now, while you're here, there are a few ah rules that we need to address. Yes, there is a plank. Yes, that is for only decorational reasons. You cannot walk it. We have had several safety hazards about it, which is why that area is locked off. Murphy raises their hand. Yes.
Speaker: Can't you just remove the plank or like put a bar up or something? and There is a bar up now. Okay. But people kept trying to get up on there to get like selfies and shit and we had to be like, no. I feel like you can also do more than a bar. Ina also raises her hand. Couldn't you just walk over or under the bar?
Speaker: That's why there is magical ah boundaries around it that make it so you can't do that. Thank you so much for asking that beautiful question. That's also very smart. You must be very book smart. Murphy's gonna walk up and like try to touch the barrier to see what happens. It kind of like it kind of like there's like a room noise or kind of knock your hand back. Okay, Murphy.
Speaker: she's trying to get comfortable on my lap but there's not a lot of room so she's like clogging me this cat uh as we set off for the mccarty isles uh some things that you may want to know before getting into ah character. ah The McCarty Isles is known for their trade in alcohol spices and home remedies. They have also brought the wonderful, wonderful pastime of gaming to the rest of the world as in all.
Speaker: the role The role play we are about to embark in is about getting ready for the travel procedures to prepare the ship and the barracks to properly store and maintain all of these goods we are about to get from the McCarty Isles to the next port. Need everyone to know that dinner will be sold in the mess hall at 5 p .m. and you will be sleeping in your rooms right after that, like proper so like Like proper sailors and proper trades people. Does anyone have any questions? I'm still stuck on the plank from being honest with you. Yes, ma 'am. How can I help you? Are we given assigned roles or do we just act as we are?
Speaker: You will be given these little papers that are in this jar right here, and he holds up a jar and shakes it. He goes, and whoever picks captain gets to be the captain for the day. That seems, hold on, and up. Yeah, yes. That seems really dangerous. But if you get like an eight -year -old child that's like, yeah, I'm in a boat and they crash it. That happened one time. That happened one time. Let me tell you, that was the best trip we've had in a while.
Speaker: So they didn't sink the boat? No. When you're saying we're your captain, we give you the general duties that the ah that these people have to do. And the captain basically goes, OK, I need you to do this and this and this and this. And an eight -year -old just gets to pick who does what. So it's nothing like, oh, you have to like cook, even though you never cooked a day in your life. We have a chef.
Speaker: I mean, it would just be a bunch of. It would just be a bunch of Kraft Mac and cheese. So yes, ma 'am, how can I help you? Do we get a new role each day or do we have the same role the entire time were on the ship? You know, that's not going to matter for us. Oh, when's your port? McCarty Isles. OK, so you're going to be off here by five. So by five, your role is a person in the McCarty Isles.
Speaker: Sweet, Charlie on here for a day. Hold on, we're only on here for a day and we had to pay 350 fucking billows? What the fuck is that?
Speaker: Jesus Christ. Welcome to fantasy capitalism. so I hate to break this tear, but our flight to Indiana for both of us. Yeah, it was fucking expensive. And we were on that plane for how long? ah What, like three hours? An hour and a half, babe. Hour and a half? Jesus Christ. You thought three hours? That was an hour and a half? I literally was not paying attention. I was trying not to have an anxiety attack on a fucking plane.
Speaker: hey I don't like flying guys. An hour and a half. Oh Jesus. Well, it felt like three and a half hours to me.
Speaker: i've been ah I've been on planes since I was like a baby and I i just don't like them. I really don't. I'm just letting you know that was that was an hour and a half. Oh, Jesus. Okay. All right. Well, why did we get a room where we could sleep in if we're only on here after five? Y 'all have breaks.
Speaker: OK, well, you know, wasn't saying that in character. It was me, me, the chaotic asshole number one. Murphy's Murphy. Yeah, except everybody gets everybody gets a room with their stay. You have places to store your stuff, but you also have ah like areas to like break in or just like decompress because they were legally obligated to. It's the federal law.
Speaker: a assuming there's some kind of federal government in this land. Some sort of federation. Murphy. Alrighty. So he holds up a jar. He goes, who wants to pick?
Speaker: Ina's not going to be the first one on Tony that fucking much. Why doesn't that guy pick and just Murphy points to some random dude? Some Orlando. He looks excited to be here. The small little goblin goes, fine, I'll pick. He just wobbles up. Shifts his hands around and just says. Literally, he looks at it and goes, OK, let me look up.
Speaker: You think I would have done better, uh, prep work for this? I did not. So it just says, ordinary semen. He goes, wonderful, go off. And he goes, okay. Um, and he like shakes the jar again and a few more people come up and it's like that normal thing, that like normal, like sort of thing. And some unfortunate person got steward, which they were very upset about. Um, so this goes up and goes, okay.
Speaker: And role for roll for it. Roll for occupation. I am. She gets captain. and I'm calling it now. She's going to get captain. I'm doing a D8. Fucking hysterical. Doing a D8. I need a D8. Give me the D8. Thank you.
Speaker: yeah Captain, Captain, Captain, Captain.
Speaker: Um, she actually got the purser, which is the person that handles the money on board. Makes sense.
Speaker: Purser and he goes, Oh, you're handling the funds. I'll show you where that office is right after this. And so this goes, I, I captain, he goes, I like your spirit. And she goes, Oh God. All right. You want to go first, Kyle? Yeah, sure. Why not? I'm gonna go and pick one up.
Speaker: I need a DA. I need a DA. What was it? A DA? A DA. Now, here's the thing. One, two, three. If y 'all get one or three, y 'all get Captain. If y 'all get anything lower than that, I'm going to tell you what you get. Okay. I'm actually going to use physical dice for this one. Oh, shit. He has dice. He found his dice. I've had these. No, I bought these dice. I've had these. They're cool. They have little skulls in them.
Speaker: Look, you can see. Yes. Wonderful Kyle. I can see through the blurriness. yeah but That rolled onto the floor. Hold on. Everyone here sucks at rolling. It always goes on the floor. Tell me it doesn't. I got an eight.
Speaker: You got the ah chef steward, so you're working right alongside with the chef. Sounds about fucking right. You're pretty excited about that. All right, Ena's got a roll.
Speaker: I got a three. Oh my God, you're the captain. Can she read the word captain? She can read at the third grade level. I know like she's also been working with Pippin, so I don't know if it's like increased. Oh, by the way, I need to give you an update on Pippin.
Speaker: hu ah She has given you a note within the past few days this last week that you have gotten ready to for this cruise. And it says, I am unfortunately unable to tutor you. I am being transferred to a different college and ze all. Marvellous fuck! I'm taking her away from you because I'm tired of y 'all going there.
Speaker: I was doing an off screen for her to go and get reading lessons. No, but whenever you needed to know something, that was your cop out was to go to Pippin. So I'm taking her away. She was a researcher. OK, now we'll just make Solas do all the work. Both of you to assume Solas is going to do shit. Pippin has moved.
Speaker: No more reading lessons. Ina is the captain. Yeah, like legit. I forgot what I needed to roll for captain and I was like, oh, three, I better be something cool. It's one to three. No, damn.
Speaker: So, yeah, ah you know, you are the captain. Solas gets escorted to where the purser office is, which y 'all just realize Solas has an entire office to herself for the next. well Like eight hours that you're on this bitch.
Speaker: So Ian is still sitting there and she's holding it up really close and she goes, Captain. The guy just goes, congratulations. You are our captain for next, what, seven, eight hours that you are with us. Sure. What does this entail? I mean, you're slipped into Remy for a hot second. Jesus Christ. She's fighting with a vengeance. Remy never left.
Speaker: not It did leave for a long time. It means you're going to be capping in the ship and making sure everybody's doing their duties to keep this ship going. I feel like as soon as Ina hears that, like the Alcindor daughter mask comes on and she is like, dr dog military child. And the guy goes, that's scary. All right, let's get ready to send off.
Speaker: okay it's As soon as the let's get ready to set off happens, the boat just goes. And you can see while everybody was having this conversation and getting their roles together.
Speaker: um that the ship was actually being prepared to leave the port. So as soon as he says that, like the boat actually starts leaving for port. And you guys get away from Arona pretty relatively quick quickly. OK.
Speaker: Now, will Ina and Murphy do me the pleasure, enrolling me another constitution. We already know it's going to be bad for both of you, but we don't know how bad. I don't have multiple D6, so I have to use 120 for this. Oh, why am I typing it in? I could just click constitution. Crazy. I have a 13. That's a tan.
Speaker: I rolled a little bit better. OK, so, you know, you're starting to feel like, hmm, I never felt this feeling before. It's a little bit weird. um Murphy, on the other hand, as soon as the. Ship actually starts moving away from port, you get this dizziness just like that just comes upon you immediately. Cool.
Speaker: Okay, Ina, as captain, what are you up to? I feel like Ina is now like, does she get a cool hat? Is there a designated captain's hat for this shit? You know what? Yeah, it's a souvenir and you can get it if you get captain out of the jar.
Speaker: Sweet, I'm marking that down. Really cool hat. Um, and so the guy with the ballot goes, looks at you, you know, and goes, All right, Captain, where are we going first?
Speaker: As in like, where's the ship going? Or where I am going first? Where are you going first? They already know they're going to the McCarty Isles. Can I have a list of places I could go to? Because I don't know ships very well. Yeah, you can go to the front deck where you see people are like stacking and like getting like and tying like different things not the things people are touching are really matter very deeply to the ship which is why they're allowed to do this by the way yeah back higher and we're on the front deck right now yes um you can go over to the cap to where um
Speaker: The chef is where Murphy is, and the person that was ah appointed steward is you can go to where Solas's office is, which is the purser. There's also just like the engineers that you could meet the actual, I want to say the actual captain that's actually steering the ship.
Speaker: um Which could be known as the ah the chief mate or the second mate that's actually steering the ship. um Okay, know so ian so she I feel like Ina and the way that like Alcindor would have taught her is that essentially like the lowest like your army is built upon the backs of the lowest people. And that's like the most important thing is making sure that they're taking care of so the rest of the army and everything would be set in stone. And so I think where she would want to go first is the engineers. That's where she's gonna want to go first.
Speaker: Okay, he goes, all right, let's go down ah down the decks a little bit and downstairs and we can go check on them engineers. And Ina, I feel like Ina, like I feel like as soon as like captain's hat is like but but click put on her head, that's when the mask comes on. And so the way that she walks, she has one arm behind her back and one on her sword, like on the hilt of the sword. yeah that's how And she's going to walk with like the most seriousness of walks. Like normally Ina walks with like a little skip on her step. And now she's like deadpan.
Speaker: She's taking this so fucking seriously. um When you get down... to where the when you get down to where the engines are, you see it has around five people down here, two of them being orcs, one of them being a dwarf who seems to be just like messing around with stuff. And the other two happen to be elves. OK. Um.
Speaker: Does the other person say anything? No, he basically just goes, here's the engineer room. I'll be here whenever you need me. Okay, so I guess she's like just looking and inspecting. Does she notice anything? like Are they having trouble? Are they going smoothly? They seem to be just like doing whatever they need to be doing and ah somebody looks over and they go, oh shit.
Speaker: Somebody came down here. And then I feel like after hearing that, Ina extends her hand and she goes, hello, I am Captain Serena. I am here to introduce myself. I believe I am Captain for the day. And then she's like waiting to see if they're going to shake her hand.
Speaker: One of the orcs comes up. He's wiping his hands off on like this dirty crusty cloth Mm -hmm. And he his girl doesn't even wipe off at all. yeah It's doing like it's best ma 'am. Yeah You know doesn't care. She still has her hand out the guy Extends his hand grabs yours and goes Hello, Serena. I am sulfur Can I roll for handshake? Like how good of a handshake this is going to be? ah For you or for him? Cause he's an orc. For both. Okay. Cause I want this to be like good, strong handshake.
Speaker: It's a good strong handshake. Holy fuck, I got a stuck guy. If you need to know what this role was, it's a six, a six, and a five. So I have a 17. I don't know if I add anything to this shit, but goddamn. I would say strength, but. That would make it a 20. I was thinking communication, but if we're going with strength, then that's a 20. Yeah, we're going with strength because it's the strength of The grip. The grip. So 20 total. So y 'all just are sort of like grappling each other, with how strong y 'all are. It is a solid firm predator style handshake. I was going to say the handshake was so good you shatter his ego because you never live up to that.
Speaker: this was This is also a moment where Ina realizes that her muscles are coming back because she's been doing so much of the blacksmithing. So her and like obviously like practicing with her sword and shit. So like her muscles are starting to come back a little bit.
Speaker: Uh, so the guy stops and goes, that's a good handshake you have there. Uh, thank you. Uh, I am looking to see on the conditions and anything that you would like to report or anything that needs to be noticed or noted. Uh, everything seems pretty run smoothly down here. Uh, but, uh,
Speaker: Dominic over there, Dominic's a little dwarf. He's just like, if you could just like find like a stool or something for him, he sees like a steam like in one of the pipes. So he just needs like a stool to just like prop himself up on. Anna brings out detective in a notebook and writes down, gets stool. He bends down. He goes, he doesn't like us to pick him up to help him. So.
Speaker: He just sort of like goes away since like, in yes and since you're, since you're the captain, uh, if you can, if you can help with that, uh, that would be, that'd be great. Um, but that would be, that would be it. Uh, no one, no no one really comes down here even when they are the captain. So that's crazy that you did. Uh, you know, then.
Speaker: says, well, ah my father told me that if you want things to run correctly, you need to work with the people who are behind the scenes fast because she doesn't want to explain that it's the lowest people you got to talk to.
Speaker: i've said we just thinking so the the the the toxic dad joke where you're trying to do something and then he's like, if you want something done, you gotta do it yourself. Yeah. not And so she goes, and so you were my first stop. I will make sure that as soon as I can, I will get the stool fourth width. And then I guess,
Speaker: She said the other steward person right the person who's kind of like the emcee of the ship right. Like the the crew like the fun person who like coordinates everything.
Speaker: yeah I would say they're more of like the coordinator. Yeah, like I don't know what like that specific title is called. I would say they're the crew's title organ or organizer, but also like they help you like They help you by following you around and giving in telling you different things that need to happen. Yeah. like You know like what I'm talking about? like When you go on a cruise, there's yeah the captain, and then there's the person who's like, I participate and coordinate everything. If you need any questions answered, you come to me, whatever that title is.
Speaker: um You can tell I haven't been on a cruise since I was 18. I've never been on a cruise in my life and I don't plan on going on. I also haven't been on a cruise since I was 18, actually. So Ina calls for them. Was she ever given their name?
Speaker: The dwarf? Yeah. Dominic. Dominic. So then I guess she calls for Dominic. Yes. And then points over to, did I get the name for the, what did you say? It was a halfling? The person who needs the stool? No, he's a dwarf. A dwarf, okay. The dwarf is named Dominic. Who is? Dwarf is named Dominic. So who's the person who needs the stool? The dwarf! A dwarf, so Dominic needs a stool? Dwarfs are genuinely small, yeah.
Speaker: Okay, so there's two, okay, hold on. there's one so There's one dwarf, there's three orcs, and there's two elves. Okay, so calls for, cor Captain Fun is what I'm gonna call this person. but She asks, so she's gonna ask for a stool. That is what I am about to do. so that So that Dominic, the dwarf, not Captain Fun, is able to do what they need to do.
Speaker: Okay. Okay. The coordinator's name is Sam. Sam. Perfect. So she calls for Sam. ah too and then This is when she's going to say, uh, Sam, uh, my good engineer, Dominic over here requires a stool. And if we could get that done post -haste, that would be incredible.
Speaker: um Sam looks over you, says, I got Captain, and you see him waddle off. And then Ina, again, is like, do we require anything else?
Speaker: ah No, no, I think we're good here, actually. Thank you for stopping by. Okay, Ina does like a little salute. And then she stands by the door waiting for Sam to come back with the stool. She will not leave until the stool is in here.
Speaker: Okay, after about like five minutes of waiting, you see Sam come back really sweaty of like a stool and he's just like, I found it. Okay, so he he's sweaty. It shouldn't take that much effort to get a stool.
Speaker: Well, I'm running, Kyle. Kyle, I beg to differ. I walk upstairs every day at work and let me tell you, I am so out of shape. Yeah, no, like little side story. and we had the ah we We cleaned out the entire ah wing, the entire girl's wing yeah last week.
Speaker: And it was, it's four bedrooms, two bathrooms and like a living room. So we deep cleaned all of it. Like not even 20 minutes into cleaning. I was like fucking sweaty and out of breath because it gets so hot in that house. Okay. So then Ina, after the stool is deposited, just keeps making the rounds.
Speaker: Okay, ah Murphy, you are with the chef right now. And you are basically his assistant. What would you say Murphy's up to just like in the kitchen? Also, the chef looks at you when you come in, and he goes. He just like looks at the other coordinator that was just like bringing everybody to their post. He just goes. Thanks, Felix. What's your name? Murphy.
Speaker: Murph, OK, come here, come here, come here. He gets down real low and he goes. Do not. Be in character the entire time, please talk to me like a human, thank you. I'll be honest, I haven't even been told what character I should be I should be like. You're my assistant, so act like a character. So don't act like a character. OK, OK. Can I like are you would you be like, are you mad if I provide suggestions here and there?
Speaker: Uh, you can talk to me. OK, we'll figure it out. We got like a few hours. Yeah. Where's where's your port? I'm a cardiologist. All right. We'll be gone like eight hours that time. Yeah. I thought about going into this, doing like a Gordon Ramsay thing. Mm hmm. No, Murphy could never be that mean on purpose.
Speaker: but Well, you aren't even the head chef. You're just the assistant. Well, no, I was thinking like Kitchen Nightmares. You know, comes in and is just like, what the fuck is wrong with this place? All the food is bad. You need to get your shit together. You see him cooking up some chili and then like some vegetarian chili next to it and goes so for the non -meat eaters. That's good to have that, you know.
Speaker: So what do you want what do you want me to do and this in this dynamic here? ah Can you cut up those veggies over there? It just like shows you like a small stack of it. And he goes, also, do not cut yourself. That's a liability.
Speaker: Okay, ah Murphy's gonna wash their hands and then they're going to pull out one of the tiny axes and then they're gonna wash the tiny axe. Make sure it's good to go and then they're gonna start cutting up veggies with the tiny axe but like not not not pay attention to what you're cutting it with. Not like the proper way kind of like like yeah He's not paying $100 to what you were talking about. He assumed he wouldn't be.
Speaker: but
Speaker: um If you guys are wondering what Solace is doing, she was showed her office and how many fake numbers she was supposed to put into something. She has not done that. Instead, she is napping on a chair. and I mean, that's pretty in character for like a finance person.
Speaker: It's like you have to get these numbers done before you're off the ship and solos went. OK,
Speaker: ah okay um are you doing anything crazy while you're going to look for anything while you're on this ship, Murph? I mean, I guess I'll look around in the kitchen like ill i I can do like a perception check to see if I find anything that's like Not out of the organarium, just like something that normally isn't in the kitchen. Not that I'm like looking for anything shady, just, you know, looking around. You see the chef putting in like this seasoning blend to this chili and from where he's throwing it in, there's a label on it that says, um like,
Speaker: seasoned feelings straight from the McCarty Isles.
Speaker: Fair enough. But that's ah basically one of the only things you see. What do I feel like we need to like now search this entire ship because there's something suspicious on it?
Speaker: I don't know. as Why would Ali ask that question? Do I? Wait, what was the question? Are we looking for anything? And I'm sitting there and I'm just like, that's suspicious. Do I know this? I'm going to be so for real. Y 'all don't look for shit unless I say something. Yeah. OK, can we say that when Ina is going into like each space, suit she's like, again, like actively looking and searching? Yeah, sure. But you're going to need to send me a perception check each time. That's fine. You just let me know when I move into a new room. Could I do one for when I was in the engineer room?
Speaker: Yeah, sure. OK, searching out with a plus two hundred one plus three. And that was a good roll. A six of four is ten plus four is fourteen plus three is seventeen. yeah It looks like a normal engine. OK, you let me know when I move up when I'm in the next area. Is there for the kitchen stuff, is there like a like a storage area? Oh, yeah.
Speaker: Um, I think what Murph wants to do is just be like, Oh, Hey, I gotta go grab some more stuff from storage and then go back there and do like a perception check to see if, uh, they find any. Hadn't related stuff. Okay. Uh, when you say that, you just hear the check, uh -huh, like just do, do what the fuck you want. I was about to say you have the goggles, buddy. I know.
Speaker: um When you go over, it's like a cabinet sort of situation. It looks like a big just like wooden cabinet. When you open it, there are several bottles of what look like just like. Sure. It's beautiful with crystal in it. um Rum that says.
Speaker: two That says almost streaming
Speaker: a McCarty inspired rum straight from the McCarty Isles. Can I like didn't they say we're not allowed to drink on this ship? Pretty much. Yeah. Can I like they have rum? Can I like inspect the rum somehow just to see if there's anything funky about it? You can inspect it. What should I roll for that?
Speaker: Probably, it would be a perception check because searching's a perception check.
Speaker: Should I do the seeing or just regular? ah You could do seeing if you want to. Oh, hell yeah. That's a 16 total. Sweet. Hold a four, a three, and then a five. Okay.
Speaker: Um, while looking at it, when you turn it around, you notice there is an engraving like kind of at the top of it that says.
Speaker: um
Speaker: Property owned by Cedric Malcolm. OK, Murphy's going to and don't I don't think they have like a pen and paper or anything, but they're going to take note of that. McCarty, I'll run.
Speaker: Cedric Malcolm, you said? Okay.
Speaker: Okey -dokey, that's... Do you think this is a whole bootlegging operation, Kyle? I mean, at the very worst, my assumption as the player is that this is just like a... um what What do you call it?
Speaker: Smuggly. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Yeah, like either they're smuggling shit or they because they said no alcohol of any kind is allowed. So either they're doing that or they're bootlegging. Yeah, maybe. And this is a front. And Malcolm is Cedric Malcolm is like the person who technically owns the ship.
Speaker: or that's Bobby's character. If you, okay, so this is just me as the player. If you go to um the finance area, and you sort of, you wake someone's up for one. and And you should, you should tell her to look through the actual finance things. But, you know, doesn't know this information yet. No, well, that's true, I suppose. Don't we have funds?
Speaker: Yes, but Ina doesn't have one. That's true. Because you couldn't be trusted. No, I think it's because Ina was like maybe given one and then she was like tossed it away. That also seems yeah. In that case, Murphy's going to text Solas even though she's asleep. Murphy's going to text Solas and just mention the rum and say that like that's weird that they have it at all.
Speaker: You get nothing back. I know. I wasn't expecting a response. OK, I feel like next stop that you know, goes to ah she I could be on the front like on the front deck. I could go to the.
Speaker: off the person's office, I could go up to the helmsman were like the captain steering the ship, I could have gone to the engineer's room, which is where I've already been, I could have gone to ah the kitchens, was there anywhere else I could have gone? I thought you said there were six and that's five.
Speaker: I'm sorry, I was writing stuff down. Where do you want to go? Well, I was asking what the last place is, because I could go to the front deck, I could go to the purser's office, I could go to the engineer, which is where I've already been, I could go up to where the captain is captaining the ship, like, you know, where he's staring, where I could go to the kitchen. And then you said, I think you said there were six places. So where could I go for the sixth place?
Speaker: Oh, ah nautical operations, which is operations, which is kind of like adjacent to where the captain ah area is. Is there. a storage place like, you know, like, you know, like the deep bowels of the ship. Yeah, like would be that'd be adjacent to ah where the engineers, but they basically said the storage is for people who didn't want to bring their stuff with them on board that they wanted to keep it under the boat. Okay. ah So it's basically just for people to store their suitcases in. Yeah. Okay.
Speaker: I feel like the next place she would go to would be the kitchens because that's like the next ah thing. Okay. Yeah, they actively just like let you go to the kitchens before you enter. You just go, you you hear a knock from Sam like on the wall and Sam goes, so presenting our captain for this evening Serena and the cook, cook Murphy, you can see roll his eyes and go,
Speaker: Damn it, how did I get this job? And he turns and looks at the door. And as you Serena and Sam walk in, you see him just like, do a quick bow and goes, Captain, and goes back to what he's doing.
Speaker: he Uh, I feel like Ina is going to do the, she's going to ask, uh, the chef, do you need anything? Is that anything that I could do to help in this situation? And he goes, no, I have my assistant, whatever their name is.
Speaker: Murphy comes around and is like, it's, it's Murphy, but that's fine. Yeah. Yeah. Murphy. I don't expect an eight hour ride to, You know, remember names. I don't even think you even told me yours.
Speaker: He goes, yo you don't even know my name. just good smell I'll just tell you, chef. So Ena's in there in the then the kitchen. No, Murphy's just kind of like sitting on their phone, leaning on a table. So there's nothing important you need to tell Serena in this moment.
Speaker: But I want to I want to say for flavor Murphy is texting Sola Solas in this moment. And Solas is doing. Yeah. And if he looks up and he's like or they're like, oh, ah hey, ah chef, I got to go talk to the captain real fast, just like round the corner. Ah. OK. And then goes.
Speaker: And then Murphy's going to mention um the alcohol and the dude. You know, Detective Eno goes back in her notebook and she still has like the house and her daughter mask on and she goes, that's weird. They said that that we weren't allowed to have alcohol. That's why I'm like, why do they have it? It could just be like a smuggling thing, which is like, I don't care about that that much, but. Strange.
Speaker: Just keep an eye out for anything like Haddon related. Do you think this is Haddon related? I mean, isn't, ah and if I'm remembering right as the player, isn't McCarty Isles like Haddon's whole thing? Yeah, and that's where all the weird shit's been happening, like the storms, the mist. Yeah. Anything that's been weird that's been happening to us lately has like, they've always said straight from the McCarty Isles. Yeah.
Speaker: I mean, yeah, just keep an eye out for anything Haddon related or like anything out of place. OK. And then let me bring up. I don't even know if I have it saved. I wanted to bring up the symbols of Haddon. All right. Their symbols are coin, a seagull, ivy, snake, cat, fools, gold and clovers. Hmm.
Speaker: Okay, and you didn't see any of those on the alcohol bottles, right? You would have seen any of those. Say the symbols one more time, I'm gonna write them down for me. Got you. The symbols are, hold on, where the fuck did they go? It's under Microsoft Edge. Coins, seagulls, ivy, snakes, cats. Cats, you said? Cat.
Speaker: Fool's Gold and Clover. cut Was there any of that on the bottle? Yeah. um There was like.
Speaker: It kind of looked like a smiling cat that was on one part of the label, but it was like small. It wasn't like the entire label. OK. Okay. Uh, so I guess Ina now is going to be looking at that. Like she's going to now be looking for those things on the ship as she's doing her investigation. And so after hearing this from Murphy, I think her next stop is going to be the Persher's office. Okay.
Speaker: As you go upstairs to the person's office, you go from the front deck to like one of the first floors. um when their so She's on the front deck and she like doooo do doo doo doo doo doo. So you went down below the front deck.
Speaker: to go to the chefs and the engineers lounge, then you went back up to the front deck to go up another floor to go to the person's office. while She does that. She's going to do a searching check to see if any of the boxes are labeled with. Like any of that shit, you know what I mean? Like yeah they have any of the like the boxes that you said that people were moving on the deck.
Speaker: Oh, okay though, so like the crates and boxes that were up there. Yeah. um
Speaker: All right, I earned myself another stunt point, which is rolling sixes all day today. That's a six, and a four is a 10, plus a one is 11, plus three is 14.
Speaker: You clock that a few of them have some clover motifs on them, but that's about it. Okay. Some boxes have clovers on them.
Speaker: And then do we think Kyle, I should check like what might be in those boxes?
Speaker: It's just you walking around, right? Like you don't have the... No, I got Sam with me. ah Sam's been following me. um Make a note of it and like either come back or just... Yeah, like try to lose them. Either that or since we don't have a lot of time on the ship. um Just make a note of it and...
Speaker: we'll like keep it in mind when we're searched around on the aisles. Because maybe like if there's cargo on the ship, then they have to hold it on land too. So there's potential that we could find the same crates or similar crates um when we dock.
Speaker: Okay, ah or I could just tell Solis and she can text you and maybe since your person doesn't really give a fuck about what you do, maybe you could sneak up there and you can break into the crates. Maybe, I think I have a pretty good stealth. Okay, yeah, you do have pretty good stealth because you're a fucking rogue. A rogue that doesn't act like a rogue. All right, so I go to the person's office.
Speaker: You'll notice on the door to the person's office that there is a seagull and a duck that are fighting over an olive branch.
Speaker: A seagull and a duck? Mm hmm. All right. Who has the symbol for a duck? Let me go all the way up because I feel like that's a fucking romantic thing, but it's not.
Speaker: Fern leaves, lily valleys, sparrow bee, honey, strawberry, butterfly, caterpillar, cocoon, Evelyn birds, daggers, skulls, rum, rubies, mushrooms, wolf, sword, spear, wolf, spain, nightlock, berries, peacock. Olive branch is for Absalom, but no duck. Dove, lavender, rainbows, white poppy, rabbit, rosemary, ship,
Speaker: navigational maps extant owl duck okay so is mean and so it's a symbol of for is mean and a symbol for they hadn't and then also a symbol for Absalom. Yeah, I mean, we know that those two are like related in some way because of the tunnels. One because of the tunnels, so Izmin and Haddon are like, bump, bump, because all of their shit, like it was like a whole tunnel just dedicated to Haddon.
Speaker: And then, uh, we've like noticed like some other like is mean things and hadn't places, right? We've noticed that too. Yes. A seagull and a duck fighting.
Speaker: So maybe because Izmin is so regimented and Haddon is so like, wa -la -la -la -la. And Paz is always like getting in the middle to like bring peace. You know what I mean?
Speaker: Okay. And then, okay. So I'm at Stuck Fighting with Olive Branch.
Speaker: Okay, so detective Ina also writes that down in her notebook. Okay. Okay, and then I guess she walks into the person's office and then she turns to Sam and she goes, if you don't mind, I would like to talk to the person on my own, because of course, as captain, it is very important for others to not know about the finances of the ship. The, um,
Speaker: Sam looks at you and goes, Okay, I'll allow that because they are a part of your current party. So yeah I'll be right out here for when you need me. Why don't you go take a 15 minute break and go get yourself a nice little snack.
Speaker: Oh yeah, like captain. He just like walked off happily. I wait until I see them walk around a bend to make sure that they're actually walking away. And then I open the door, I close it. And is there like a lock on the door at all? Yeah, there is. OK, I lock the door. And is there the same symbols on the other side of the door as in the front of the door? ah On the other side of the door, um there are the
Speaker: It's um instead of an olive branch, there is a rosemary stem that's being clutched by an owl. Okay, so on the other side is a rosemary stem. So Paz, clutched by an owl is mean. So does that mean is mean is like Because that's just then is mean and pass. So then what would that mean? What do you think, Kyle? What would that mean? What was it again?
Speaker: So on the other, so on the one side of the door, as you're about to go into the room, there was a seagull and the duck that were fighting with an allage branch they were both holding on to. Then on the other side of the door, there was a symbol of rosemary being held by an owl. So does that mean, is mean one, whatever that fight was in between?
Speaker: Hmm.
Speaker: potentially. I mean is somehow in control of the whole situation. Doesn't have to be like a physical thing. It can just mean that is mean as the one pulling the strings and then somehow roped paths into it too. Yeah. Maybe since Murphy seems to have like a pretty decent connection to most of the gods, maybe when we get back, Murphy can go to a pass ah So Rosemary being held by an owl. And then as she's in there, she's like, Solace! Solace, I need you to know when you close the door, Solace goes, ah! She slams that door real quick and locks it. she's I was awake. I was awake the entire time, actually. Ina goes, there's something weird going on here.
Speaker: Yeah, you put me on a ship that was supposed to be for role play. No, there's something even greater going on. OK, you see another text from Murphy pop up. and So this is well, it's like. hello Stolas looks at her front. There is ram on the ship and you haven't stolen any for me. Question marks and.
Speaker: Murphy using three dots and then nothing.
Speaker: ah
Speaker: We cut you to Murph just. Yeah. After about 30 seconds of you not responding, she sends another ah thing that's just an emoji, but it's the emoji where one eyebrow is higher than the other and the face has a frown on it.
Speaker: Okay, so Ina runs through everything that Murphy told her, everything that she's seen so far and that there's what weirds. Did she? Okay, as I'm thinking about it, would have Ina taken note of what the symbols were on the engineer door and on the kitchen door? There were no symbols on the engineer or kitchen door. It was just the door. Just the door. Yeah.
Speaker: Okay, so Eda explains everything to Solas and she goes, isn't this all a little bit weird?
Speaker: because they told us about there's supposed to be no alcohol. And now they have a whole storage room just filled with alcohol. And now there's all these weird absolomons. Okay. Where was the alcohol? I'm going to guess in the kitchens because that's where. In the kitchen storage room. And Murphy said that they were owned by someone named Cedric Malcolm. Don't know who that is. They also had a little cat on them.
Speaker: Okay, well cats are obvious symbols of Haddon. um so Sorry, I'm a little groggy. um so It would make sense that there's alcohol in the kitchen because sometimes there's recipes that call for alcohol. But also sometimes there the chef might just be getting drunk. And just because the alcohol isn't readily available for the passengers doesn't mean that the people that aren't the passengers aren't drinking it. How many bottles of alcohol were in there? They're like nine. Nine. yeah But it's weird that they said that they were the property of somebody else, though.
Speaker: I think it was just a manufacturer.
Speaker: Who did you say again, Cedric Malcolm? They own. I think they own. so Sorry, like I said, you woke me up from my nap. I'm trying to think. um I think that they own a distillery in the McCarty Isles and they're kind of a big deal.
Speaker: Um, give me a bit for my brain to start working. I might be able to like think about that for you, but I know they're kind of a big deal in the McCarty Isles. That's what my brain is telling me right now. And then there's all the weird symbols on the doors. And then there was some weird symbols on the crates. And then she goes, Oh, you need to send a message to Murphy and let them know so that they can go and all sneaky like and go up and try to break into the crates.
Speaker: Ena says break into crates on front deck, smiley face said. Murphy just responds, ugh. Smiley face, smiley face, smiley face, kissy face.
Speaker: What ah Murphy told Ena to like ask Solas about checking the finances because I guess the person would have access to previous records, right? Like, is there anything in here other than a desk and a chair? Murphy did text that in the original text, yes. So Solace did roll a 15 on that. So while she was looking for things, she was just like, this just seems like a lot of role play nonsense. But um had yeah and I did find a business card here, which I thought was weird.
Speaker: Okay. It says it's for someone called Chance Haddinson. It says, Zinal Lawyer. And then it says, if you need me, let me know.
Speaker: yeah Zoey sees this. Can Detective Ina have an intelligence check? Yeah. Okay. Come on, Ina. Please.
Speaker: is
Speaker: fucking damn it Okay, that's a five and a four plus one is a 10 plus three is a 13. It's tickling something. Ina's like, what was the name again? Chance Haddonson and on the back there's a snake that's strangling a cat.
Speaker: a snake that's strangling a cat, so a snake that's strangling, so the snake and the cat are a part of Haddon. Okay, can Ina roll another intelligence check?
Speaker: Yeah. Because I feel like this is like feeding information now. This is my prop, it's my only point. All right, that's better. Two fives makes a 10 plus a four it is 14 plus one is a 15.
Speaker: Snakes and cats, that's very hatted and a name like Chance. Hmm. Detective Ina has the meme of Julia Roberts where she's doing all the math.
Speaker: And before you can even say anything, Solus just goes, this feels very child of Haddon. Tina immediately goes, it's business card! business card? business card.
Speaker: Do you see a dick drawn in the dust? No, it's just a cat strangling. I mean, sorry, is this a snake strangling? No, I meant like if there's like a if there's some dust somewhere, you see just a dick drawn in the dust because it's like, yeah, it's me.
Speaker: That'd be hilarious. But um yeah, this business card is here. It looks like it's a lawyer card, though. It doesn't look like a lawyer card.
Speaker: Yeah, quite it quite literally says if you need me let me know and then has like an email written on it. What's an email? It's so we can send messages digitally.
Speaker: What's digitally? Ina, I'm too tired to talk about this with you right now. Ina goes, all right, send them a message saying we need them and see what happens.
Speaker: Solus sends a message. Instead of saying we need them, it just says, hi, I'm Solus. McCarty Isles? And then emails it off. So do we do we need anything else? du This is really... Can Ina do a searching check through the files to see if anything like tickles her brain or anything like that in case Solus missed anything?
Speaker: no Nope. Nope. Nope. That's a two ones and a two. But ah are you sure this is, you're saying this is Haddon's business card. Are you sure about that though? It's either Haddon or it's one of their kids. I'm going on kids rather than Haddon because business card seems way too put together for Haddon. I'm gonna be so for real with you. It also seems a little off because I don't think one of Haddon's skins would also be that put together.
Speaker: Trauma does weird shit. then somewhere Murphy murphy sneezes. ah gosh I'm gonna whisper this. So Phoebe's loafing behind me. She's snoring so loud. i thought There was something going like there was something else happening. I just hear, huh?
Speaker: ah
Speaker: She legitimately is just having a time. Just like, what the fuck is that noise? Um, Okay, do you guys wanna do anything else on this trip together? um Dinner is about to get started within the next - No, I want us to fucking solve this. Wait, no, because they said that as soon as dinner's over, we have to go to bed, right? Well, seeing as after dinner, you're at the McCarty Isles, the people that have to go to bed are the people that are staying on the ship.
Speaker: OK, is there anywhere else that I should search, Kyle? Mm. Because the only places I have to go left are where the captain is and then the navigational area. I don't know. Because I feel like we eat. I feel like we eat on the front ship on the front deck. I don't think there's anything else necessary. We read the mess hall. I of want to.
Speaker: before Sam gets back?
Speaker: Where do we think? I don't know. I feel like there's something else that's going on here. Is there any area of the ship that's like employees only?
Speaker: I mean, there's like places that you can't go, even if you're considered captain for the next few hours. Ina's going to go fucking there. She's got to sneak out and not. you That's what he is going to fucking do. There's someone else going on here, Ally.
Speaker: Or if she could tell ah or she can tell the sneaky person.
Speaker: Should the sneaky person go do this? It would help if Ina had a phone. I guess Ina would tell Solus to send a text to Murphy. Ina wants to go into employee -only areas, LOL. Murphy, let me have fun.
Speaker: but
Speaker: Solus shows her phone too. Okay. i
Speaker: This is what Ian's gonna do. She's gonna go to the navigational part, and then I guess when the bell rings for dinner, she's going to tell Sam if Sam is still with her. Like, go on ahead, I'll be right there. But then she's gonna go do some sneaky shit.
Speaker: OK, the navigational room, there is like a sextant like on the door and there's like a cute little ship motif. That's like it's like a ship chandelier. So it's like a chandelier. It's in the shape of a ship in like that room. But that's that's like it in there. um The dinner bell does ring. And when you tell Sam that you're going to do what you want, he goes, oh, bathroom break. Yeah, totally get that.
Speaker: And so Ina is like, yep, I'll be right there. Captain needs to, like the Alcindor mask is slipping just a little bit. And she's like, just need to make a little tinkle and I'll be right there, Ina. Yeah, Captain. And he just like wanders over to the mess hall. Okay. Is anyone else joining me on sneaky, sneaky time? I mean, Murphy was already going to go towards those crates.
Speaker: Sola says joining you because she had her own office and no one was watching her anyways. Okay, ah so where do we think they would be hiding something the most? they i'm thinking They have that storage area that they wouldn't let you in because that's where a lot of the things were and they have just like employee break lounges. Okay. I feel like we need to go to the storage. That's just me. Kyle, do you think anywhere else? Cause I feel like they wouldn't have anything in the employee lounges. No. I mean, especially if that's where the employees regularly go and we don't know who's involved, but fargo cargo would make more sense.
Speaker: Cargo hold would make the most sense. so that's what does its soft do Is that where the crates are that I'm going to? or No, it's on the front it's on the front deck. Okay.
Speaker: So yeah, Murph is making their way up there. All right. When you're making your way up there, it's a complete ghost town because everyone's in the mess hall preparing for dinner. um When you see the crates, it there's like five of them that have these little clover motifs on them. OK, so I think Murph is just going to try to be as quiet as they can. And. I mean, does it look like they can be opened without any real force? They look like they need some force, they're like nailed down. OK.
Speaker: You're going to need like a crowbar or something. Yeah. Is there some? but can i Do I do a check or something to see if there's something nearby? Yeah, you can. It's an 11.
Speaker: There's like a tiny little thing that can help pry, but it's not exactly a crowbar, just looks like a piece of metal. Would one of the axes do better?
Speaker: I don't know. They are made of obsidian, which is incredibly rare on this. And by a god of war. so Yeah, I think the axe would do better. I'm just going to try and pry it open with the axe. Give me a strength. Cool. Strength is definitely one of my best stats with a plus zero. Ooh. That's a four. Oh, sorry. No, that's a nine. That's a nine. That's okay. You're struggling.
Speaker: Like, you're, like, getting it in there, but you can't seem to find, like, a good angle to, like, help pry it off. Hmm. I'm going to do a perception check to see if I hear anyone coming. OK. 14. No, no one's coming. OK.
Speaker: um my My other thought is how loud is the gun that I have? probably super fucking loud. It definitely sounds like it has, you didn't find a silencer, so. Okay, so I probably can't just blast it open. No. No, or just wait until Ina comes up because I feel like in order to go to the mess hall, you have to go back up through the deck, yeah right? So you could just wait for Ina to come. ah I'll give it one more shot and then I'll wait otherwise.
Speaker: if you're OK with that. like Yeah, that's fine. It's an 11 that time. You're you kind of have an angle working. It's kind of like chipping away at it very slowly. OK. All right, we're sneaking for being sneaky, sneaky. OK, so Solace and you are down the storage area. Mm hmm.
Speaker: um Okay, so Solus goes, okay, how do we get in? It's locked. Damn it, I bought Murphy those lock picking tools. I gave him to him.
Speaker: where So what's the um best case scenario? She takes her foot and she slams it into the door handle. Door handle. Give me a strength. hu Bet your fucking ass I'm going to.
Speaker: You have to be an eight. you I beat a fucking eight. That's a six, a four, a three, plus three, 16. Okay, boom, you are immediately through and Solis goes, Oh, God, I hope no one heard that. Who needs fucking lockpicks? And then I open the door. Oh, you know, you when you hit it, it like swung open. Oh, I was just trying to knock the door handle off. No, it swung open. Sweet.
Speaker: um When you open up the door, you notice there's crates upon crates with this cute little clover on it. Okay.
Speaker: um
Speaker: Just like crates as far as the eye can see, right? Yeah. Okay. Best open door. Nothing but crates. I want to open one.
Speaker: OK.
Speaker: Is there any crowbars nearby? Roll for crowbar. home you ra thing Roll for Roll for crowbar. OK, probably not. A 3, a 2, is a 5 plus 1 is 6 plus 2 is 8 plus 1 is 9.
Speaker: No, same same roles, Murph. There is no crowbar. OK, Ina is just going to probably brute strength this and she's going to like put her fingers underneath and then try to pry it open. OK, give me strength. Who needs a crowbar when you are a crowbar? I am crowbar. Going back to me when I was screen printing, I go, I am the printer. Yeah.
Speaker: We roll that one because it fell on the floor. Okay, so that's a five plus a four plus a one. That's nine plus three 1212. um You're able to like, get a little bit open. It's not like full on open. You're doing more than Murph is upstairs. Okay, I tell I like gesture for solace to come in and look at it.
Speaker: So this gets her phone on and puts the um the inputs the flashlight on it like it's so it's like a glowing piece of just like a course right now and she goes um It looks like more of that rum
Speaker: Should we open up another the one as I let what it slammed shut? And she goes, no, I think it's probably all rum. So why would they want us to not have alcohol and say that this isn't a party ship and have all of these crates filled with nothing but alcohol?
Speaker: I don't know, it sounds like some hat and bullshit. It sounds like some hat and bullshit wrapped up in an Izmin bow. Like you're allowed to transport the alcohol, but you're not allowed to consume it.
Speaker: Hmm. Like, yay, travel, discovery, but also here's some trading that I need to do on the side. The camera pans back to Murphy panting and sitting leaning up against one of the
Speaker: ah she
Speaker: I don't know. I feel like there's something afoot here. I mean, I feel like I think music this is also probably a red fucking herring. And me as the player, like this is definitely just a smuggling thing. It's I don't think it's anything more than that, to be honest. OK. All right.
Speaker: But I feel like Ina would also intrusive thought check wants to open up another crate. Okay. but fifty weeks
Speaker: Well, that's another stunt point for me. um Up to 12 now. So six plus a five is 11 plus a three is a 14 for an intrusive thought check plus intelligence a 15.
Speaker: You can try. Yeah, do you have to pass. a you Yeah, I'm going to say 14 is what you have to pass. So.
Speaker: All right, so she doesn't open another crate. She's going to trust Solas at her word that they are all filled with this. um And then she's like, do you think we should ask them if what they're doing is smuggling alcohol? But why would they be taking it from? You know, from Arona and taking it to the McCarty Isles?
Speaker: So, and know wow you Serena, I want to be so real with you. Sometimes things just ain't our business.
Speaker: Fine. Let's go eat.
Speaker: Like we're we're going in the stuff that is our business, but I feel like what's going on this ship isn't our business. OK. She kicks a crate. yeah Bottle shatters.
Speaker: mr
Speaker: All right, we go upstairs, I guess we tell Murphy they're nothing but alcohol in these crates.
Speaker: No response from Murphy. He's not there. No, the ship is where we were. Oh yeah. Walk back upstairs. Sorry. That's the ADHD med brain fog. Um, yeah, Murphy's just going to be like, yeah, I couldn't get these open, but I assumed it was just alcohol as well.
Speaker: I don't like not knowing why they're taking all of this. I think it's genuinely just smuggling. I don't think it's anything more sinister than that. But why, though? Is an alcohol just something that people just do? I mean, there's probably something in the alcohol that makes it not something that the general public should have, but. All right. Ina's now, after hearing that, she's going to do another intrusive thought check.
Speaker: All right, that's a five, a five, a one, and another one. So that's a 12 total. You failed that intrusive thought check what you do. Sweet. She opens, she runs over to the crate, opens it and then opens a bottle of alcohol, takes a swig.
Speaker: Straight from the McCarty Isles, huh? Mm hmm.
Speaker: You start feeling a little bit tingly right away. It's not like something that you normally felt with like that last alcohol, like fun little bender you went on. You feel a little bit tingly. You feel a little bit lighter. You almost feel like the music going through you, which is weird because there's no music at all happening right now. So it's basically the same thing as that fog from the mist. Yeah, the mist.
Speaker: It feels like a party. It feels like, why would you ever want to leave? But you only took one. Straight from the McCarty Isles, baby. I feel like Eunice's eyes, you know, like the blacks of her eyes, just those pupils dilating. Yeah, pupils dilating. Chia immediately goes, you guys need to drink this. I think I'll pass. Thank you.
Speaker: It tastes like coconut and like spiciness and just like the best actually. Honestly, you feel like you need to give Cedric Malcom a high five. You almost feel like he probably doesn't like going by Cedric. You feel like he's probably a Ricky person. A Ricky? What's a Ricky? He likes going by Ricky, not Cedric.
Speaker: Oh, I think I was like, I was like, Oh, yeah. I got out of that pretty quick. I'm surprised you didn't. I thought she was trying to say Reiki and I was like, No, what? In this universe right now. At least not by that name. Okay. Uh, you know, immediately is but he this ah immediately like, so this is much ah what it must feel like to be solace all the time.
Speaker: Thanks. We should go by the way. We should go by the way.
Speaker: um Solas takes the rum out of Ina's hand, puts like the top back on it, puts it back in the crate and then just like puts the crate on just oh so vicariously and goes, all right, come on. Ina puts her captain's hat on, but it's like crooked.
Speaker: And we go to eat, and Ina immediately is like, my God. Murphy's just going to sit down.
Speaker: So throughout dinner, ah you're dealing with that with Ina. Very soon, and you guys are docked at the McCarty Isles, which you can hear from outside the ship, from the ship. From the ship, sounds like just like a really fun, almost jazz music coming by. You can see lights, you can see colors are like purple and gold and green.
Speaker: Welcome to this universe's Mardi Gras, baby. We'll see you next week.
Speaker: Hey, hi, hello, friends. Thank you so much for listening into this episode of Daystrop. Speaker: and Of course, my next door neighbor literally mows their lawn every single fucking weekend at this exact time. um I mean, why it's been raining. This is the first time I've actually heard it. Yeah, same. Well, it's usually because they're done by now.
Speaker: and you You are so shitty right now.
