Danny Price: Hey guys, welcome to episode 54 of Table Talk Discussions podcast. i'm Really excited. Today I get to be with Tony. who taught the sermon on Sunday. We're still in our Revelation series.

Danny Price: Revelation, not revelations. I've had a lot of people. That's a big topic right now. Is is it revelations or is it revelation? Oh. But yeah, if you didn't get a chance to hear it. Definitely go back and listen to it. It's a great sermon. I was doing sound on Sunday, so I actually got to hear it multiple times, and it was it was cool.

Danny Price: um I'm really impressed by the way, Tony, I think. and you know, I've said this to Shane sometimes too, is it's hard for me to think about if I was going to teach a sermon. of how I would keep it the same every single time. And you do a great job of having like little things, like you have little things you emphasize a little more, a little less, but overall it's like the structure is really. polished and that always impresses me because I feel like with my...

Danny Price: ADD type of mind. Like I know if I recorded this podcast and then turned right around and tried to record it again, it would be nothing. I would say nothing similar. It would be totally opposite.

tony: ah Right.

Danny Price: So that that that very much impresses me.

tony: Well, thank you. I appreciate that. that affirmation that's cool um Yeah, it's important to me that you know, especially when you're doing something like three services and Shane does so excellent because he You know, he he thinks through his whole sermon and he just communicates the same thing.

tony: So the the whole body is getting the same. you know message and so Yeah, trying to to do that well as well.

Danny Price: Hmm.

Danny Price: Yeah. None. That is hard. Awesome. um So. We're in Revelations. For those of you guys, just a relation. I can't cancel Revelations. um We're in Revelation 2.

Danny Price: Um, the letter to the church in smyrna where in those verses right there.

tony: yeah

Danny Price: Um, which By the way, I was just... i That's a doozy of a... little section to preach on because It's not, I mean, there's a lot there's a lot in there, I guess, but it's not necessarily ultra encouraging. So I think you did a good job with that.

Danny Price: Um,

tony: yeah Thank you. I was teasing Shane like, oh, thanks.

Danny Price: How did how was it like is there anything?

tony: No encouraging.

Danny Price: Well, that's what I was going to say. Is there anything, before I get into my questions and the stuff that people have sent me, is there anything that you wanted to just highlight from your your sermon prep or things that you found interesting? anything like that.

tony: I just think i studying Smyrna and the history of Smyrna, because it starts in ancient Greece. And it has one of those stories where They've been. um Not necessarily persecuted, but through...

tony: the ages and how warring factions have happened for conquests. They have been.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: destroyed multiple times and scattered multiple times and come back together and always just been kind of a um we'll say a fragile community in the sense of their continued existence but the fact that they have

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: Remained. for so long uh not fragile in that sense right so that's just a really neat thing so if anybody wanted to do a history study on Smear none.

Danny Price: Right.

tony: It's really cool because there's an ancient smear that That's... predates the biblical Smyrna. And that's a neat story.

Danny Price: Oh really? Did not know that.

tony: Yeah.

Danny Price: where would that be located like modern day do you know like uh is that is that greece

tony: It is. It's in in a place called, is it now today it's called Izmir.

Danny Price: hu Okay.

tony: So. is mere. was from the Latin word. that the The Turks said, let's go. Let's go to... Smirna. And the the phrase they had, like, let's go to Smyrna.

tony: became shortened over time and it became Izmir. So Izmir is modern day.

Danny Price: Thanks.

tony: Smyrna.

Danny Price: That's cool.

tony: Yeah.

Danny Price: Awesome. Cool. um Just to give a little introduction, I guess, if those those of you who weren't there and didn't hear the sermon. you know tony started off talking about the Really popular hymn, it is well. and Horatio Spafford, the guy that wrote it and just kind of talking about his life.

Danny Price: And it just kind of prompted a question in me because I started looking it up. um I looked into this a little bit and I... it's Honestly, it might be my favorite hymn. I've always loved it I love what it symbolizes.

tony: Mm hmm. mm -hmm

Danny Price: And... So i wasve I actually knew who that was. Like when you brought him up, I was like, oh, I know who that is. um but I had this question. And I wrote this down and I was like, I don't know. if this is a right.

Danny Price: thought process to come at it from but it just kind of prompted something because i was like we've always talked about this being such a great you know, from a reference or a mind view to have is like it as well. you know, no matter what happens. um Is there an argument, I guess, and this is like the question, is there an argument that you actually shouldn't have that attitude, that you should have more of the attitude of being able to mourn and be in anguish and weep, so to speak, and not...

Danny Price: Yeah. and not, you know, keep it together, so to speak, and say that it is well, or is that misreading what that is trying to say? What do you think about that?

tony: Yeah, I think it's a great question because I think it... That question alone. the assumption behind that question is a misread on the hymn.

Danny Price: Right.

tony: the The hymn itself is kind of like a modern day Psalm of David. It is a... Deep. processing of some just really immersed emotional turmoil right And.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: That's kind of why I went with it for this, an illustration for this lesson and then read it at the end because It's interesting, he doesn't say how. Nowhere when you're singing the hymn does it talk about Jesus rescuing us from our our difficulty, our suffering, and it doesn't really even talk about a piece that comes like the one line says you know um when Peace.

Danny Price: Mm hmm.

tony: attendeth my way. right but that's like the one line and the whole thing and so the whole the whole hymn is about

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: um no matter what happens or what has happened, that the thing that... I'm focused on that I know. makes everything okay. The reason why my soul isn't giving up in despair.

tony: Modern day language might be the reason I'm not killing myself right now is because

Danny Price: Mm -hmm.

tony: I... I know that. Christ has regarded my helpless estate.

Danny Price: Mm hmm.

tony: how powerless I am, how I feel. And he has. He has done what's necessary. to to ultimately save me. And so. it's It's well deep inside of me and my soul, it's well.

tony: And my soul, no matter what happens to my body and what happens in this life, my soul is protected and it's well. So I think there's kind of a a double meaning there.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: but yeah i think it's a process

Danny Price: Right. Right. And that's what I had assumed too, but then looking... I did find this article online and I can't remember people that put it out and they pretty much said that it's the wrong premise to have that.

Danny Price: i was like that's an interesting thought because i've never thought about that I've never thought of it that way. I read it like... like how you just described it that's how i've always read it like it's deep down. things are going to be like, you know, in plain English, things are going to be okay because I'm clinging to the one that. is going to make everything okay and even though it's not going to maybe happen in this life like I have hope, and it's it's well.

Danny Price: Not simply saying. I don't have emotions or I stuff everything down. when I'm going through hardships and pretend like it's okay. Like it actually is okay because I'm holding onto to something greater.

Danny Price: than myself.

tony: yeah Yeah, like...

Danny Price: So I know I do know people do see it that way though like where they

tony: um that

Danny Price: you know, just based off that article, which I thought was interesting. because I totally disagree, but.

tony: Yeah.

Danny Price: That's where that question came from.

tony: Yeah, I think if people are thinking more along the lines of like number one the hymn isn't scripture right he's he's putting his again we see a process and he's putting his theological View and he becomes vulnerable and allows us to see that and invites us to share that that process with them.

Danny Price: Sure.

tony: scripture you know would say somewhere else. Count it all joy.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: No matter what you're going through and I think those people's argument might be better. Uh, aimed at that. people who take that verse out of context because yeah i think they make a good point there are times when we need to grieve we need to be healthy in grief we need to go through the process and obviously That's what the Psalms are, right? but Some people take that out of context.

tony: I gotta be happy. I gotta push through we've got And then.

Danny Price: Yeah. hu it's too far

tony: Drives us crazy. Yeah.

Danny Price: Too far. No, I get it. Yeah. And I think. Um, This is a little bit of like a... detour on this question but i think it does Um, it does bug me kind of like you said when you you see people that are they never are real. And you're like, how how are you? oh I'm fine. It's well. Everything's good.

Danny Price: Like, no, but really, how are you? Like, oh, if you like started to probe and they would actually be honest, they'd say, well, actually.

tony: Yeah.

Danny Price: there's i got this going on or you know or maybe Things are actually, i'm I'm saying it's fine, but things are actually great. and God's given me a lot of blessings. I think there is benefit to.

tony: Mm hmm.

Danny Price: And again, like the deep undercurrent is it is well with my soul because you're cleaning on to something else, but it's okay to also like, yeah, just like you said, it's okay to grieve and it's okay to be happy about things and be joyful. Um, and celebrate in the right in the right seasons.

Danny Price: So anyways.

tony: yeah Hmm.

Danny Price: Just kicking this off, first question. The next one I had was... you know, My first. inclination like when i start hearing about some of the suffering that's happening in this church.

tony: Hmm.

Danny Price: And Smyrna is like, i don't i' I don't have to deal with a lot of that. Like, I don't have a lot of suffering in my life. or persecution. um as of right now and i know you know it it might be coming in a different season So that kind of lead me to just ask.

Danny Price: What are ways that we can come alongside people? that are in suffering, especially when we're not the ones in the suffering with them. We're not in the pit with them. What's the right? response and approaches you know just biblically with with someone that's going through that how do we come alongside them

tony: mm -hmm I wrestled with that a little bit because you know I always like to have kind of a practical takeaway. And practically, what can we do? it's It's great to have inspirational messages sometimes, but if we don't have a practical way to apply the truth, we're learning. and what do we do and this was ah This was a more difficult one.

tony: obviously and I like what you said because that's kind of the point there are a lot of people who won't suffer like that a lot of people who won't wake up every day wondering if they're going to be delivered because they are enjoying a good life.

tony: And.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: So... tying that into okay, but We are the church. And we have brothers and sisters that we know that are doing that. so Practically, what can we do? and Number one. you know I think that's where I...

tony: My god. My, my Jesus. instituted the church and created his bride. is because of what the writer of hebrews says like we go through things in life so that then we can come alongside others who are going through similar things. but Man, what a crummy life I would have if I was the one who had to go through everything that everybody else is going through just so I could take them through.

Danny Price: Yeah. Exactly.

tony: so you get a group of a hundred people together and now by god's grand design we have a bunch of people and you know, maybe possibly almost every scenario covered if not every scenario covered and somebody can walk along beside somebody else but to answer your question practically what does that mean that means we have to Go back to what you're talking about a minute ago. We really have to learn how to be vulnerable with each other, right? We have to learn what it what it means to walk. alongside.

tony: other people in life. And. and not just show up on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights together. and and you know we're doing community together together but we're really just feeding ourselves in community with other people we're not really living life with other people walking alongside and so I think part of it is we have to do that mindset.

tony: and we have to serve but then the other thing is you know just the the practical disciplines of scripture is It... It is so powerful and it is so practical when we sit down and we pray with people.

tony: um It's also super practical when we can sit down and we can just be present with people. and we can let our calm and our peace Um, pervade the environment that somebody else may be suffering in and maybe they're experiencing chaos in.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: ah Science has actually caught up with the Bible in that regard.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: and

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: Science talks about heart math now. And there's this idea that our hearts create electromagnetic fields that are about seven feet around us in diameter, right? And so anytime...

Danny Price: what

tony: you walk into mine or i walk into yours whose ever electromagnetic field is more powerful at the time it affects one another and's so you can walk into a room where you have no idea what was going on but you can sense that something was going on in that room before you walked in.

tony: Sometimes. um So.

Danny Price: Interesting.

tony: One of the things that you learn in in grief counseling and and um trying to calm, especially working with adolescents who need a certain type of calming is you bring your calm into a situation.

tony: And if you're if you're being very intentional with that calm and you're controlling your calm through the way you breathe, through the way you are just present, and that can really... My calm can overwhelm your chaos.

tony: And so I think that's a... that's a truth that a lot of people figure out in life and they become great people to just be you know hospital chaplains and prayer warriors to come alongside other people.

tony: Those are just very practical things that we can do.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: Right, so. But again, it comes back to being willing to be vulnerable, to be the body of Christ and not just show up to be.

Danny Price: Yeah.

Danny Price: Right.

tony: fed. at programs.

Danny Price: Right, so it would be... It would be valuable, especially if you're... Maybe older and have gone through. you know. assuming that you're just because you're older, you have more experience in life, I guess. You know, if you've gone through these things, it'd be great helpful for you guys to come alongside other people.

Danny Price: So for example, if you've lost... you know Your parents and you know, maybe some friends and you know to death or whatever. sickness you know whatever it is

tony: Hmm.

Danny Price: You are very well equipped. potentially, even if maybe you didn't handle it the best, you understand what other people are going through and you're you're well equipped to. kind of have a peek into what they're experiencing versus someone like myself, who hasn't experienced a lot of death in my my life. Like I've had my grandparents die.

Danny Price: But no close friends, no parents, no siblings, no one. um of significance in my life besides you know, grandparents really. And so it's hard for me to empathize, not that I won't or wouldn't, but it's hard for me really to.

Danny Price: know what you're going through and how grief works.

tony: Mm hmm.

Danny Price: versus someone who... you know maybe you have and then someone dies in someone else's life and you can come alongside them And then you can apply that to all the other. categories of suffering that someone could be going through whether that's you know bankruptcy or financial suffering or...

Danny Price: Um, maybe an addiction. And I think that's why you have you know a lot of success with a lot of those. Like recovery groups, you know. I think there's a lot to be said about that too, which is cool when the church can get involved with that. and i don't know Do you know if Mountain View is doing anything like that right now with any type of recovery for at addicts? or AA kind of stuff. Do you know if we do any of that right now?

tony: um Programs have been run in the past, but since those kinds of programs are run on by the people who you know really feel called to them,

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: it's dependent on their time and their ability to be consistent with that and so we have had from what i understand some of those ministries in the past but um the people running them haven't been able to continue them long time so No, we don't have those right now.

Danny Price: a Got it. So maybe if you're listening, maybe if that's maybe that could be on your heart. Um, Just a thought thrown out there. Anyways, anything else before I move on that you wanted to touch on or anything else that I said that you wanted to comment on?

tony: um I just think it's it's important to clarify, and I know you probably meant this because I know you, Danny, but... you know somebody listening might not understand. you know i can't say just because i lost a parent and you lost a parent like i know what you're going through But it's important to say, like I know what it's like to lose a parent.

Danny Price: Hmm.

Danny Price: Hmm.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: ah for me, you know, and and maybe I've... talk to other people as well so

Danny Price: Right.

tony: you know And if we lead with that. Um, coming into you know any kind of discussion That's how we relate to people. but

Danny Price: Right. Don't go in and say, I know what you're going through.

tony: That's it.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: Right. Especially when we're, because your question is around the topic that we talked about this week and it's suffering, right? and And I think it also helps to identify maybe for yourself what suffering is. So somebody truly wants to be in a...

tony: in a ministry that ministers to people who are grieving or suffering, I think you need to theologically. discern for yourself, what do you believe? suffering really is at its root. And so for me,

tony: What I think suffering is, is the consequences of having pursued anything outside of god's design for fulfillment.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: So for a while it can feel like good and it can be what, but at some point, if it's outside of God's design for fulfillment and in any way. those man -made attempts and other pursuits are going to crash.

tony: And when they do, especially for Christians. there's going to be some kind of of suffering. Now. when we can talk about loss and and something, right? Like some I lost somebody and I'm grieving right now, I'm suffering, or a terminal illness has come into my life and I'm you know i'm i'm suffering. um That's obviously not a consequence of...

tony: of my sin or something i've pursued but it is a consequence of of a broken world things not being the way they They are and were longing for God's design.

Danny Price: Right.

tony: to fulfill again. whatever was lost or whatever was broken. So in that sense. It's not something... a consequence of what i did personally but it is a consequence of god's design not being in place and the suffering the experience of suffering really is an experience of longing for God's design.

tony: and to be able to experience that made rightness.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: in my life

Danny Price: No, that that makes sense. No, I like that you said that. that That's helpful. remind Remind me again that the definition is... suffering is any time that you're kind of come into grips with you putting your faith in something else

tony: Yeah, so maybe we'll just take that last part better. Maybe it's it's better said that way, um especially when we're... because we're talking about something people didn't do themselves. uh I think suffering really is the longing for God's design.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: in in a broken... world.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: Okay. like the the deep longing for something that's really broken in my life where I'm experiencing it.

Danny Price: Hmm. i like that that's good And that that does actually really go well with this next question. um So this next question is. Is it good to think of suffering as a form of testing?

Danny Price: Because back to... Just the text we're going through oh and i went away hold on Bringing it back. Revelation 2. Um,

Danny Price: Let me scroll over to it. So it says right here in verse... um chapter 2 verse 10 do not fear what you are about to suffer behold the devil is about to throw some of you into prison that you may be tested And then it says like a like a set period. And for 10 days, you will have tribulation, which you talked about great in the sermon.

Danny Price: Um, So. That just kind of prompted this question. Should we be thinking when we go through suffering, should we we we be thinking about it as a time of testing? And is it possible that certain suffering just happens needlessly?

Danny Price: because of a bad decision we made. And... you know And or like you just pointed out. We're living in... a fallen world and we're longing for christ's you know return and his order to be restored Um,

Danny Price: What do you think is it should we think? Should we be thinking about suffering as as testing or no?

tony: yeah I think those are two really loaded questions. they can They can seem a little bit... innocuous or ambivalent, you know. I think you go, but. I want to be super aware of somebody who is suffering, maybe listening to that question and thinking of the response they're going to hear.

Danny Price: Hmm.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: And into that, I want to say. I don't think that that all suffering is testing. I think there is.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: uh suffering that comes through some trials that the Lord. allows. right So there will be times in life when... You know, we say we say things like that are beautiful to hear and there's truth behind it, but sometimes we don't focus enough on the truth and the reality and we just... focus on that. kind of the cliche that's in them but you know like Anything that comes into our lives has to pass through God's hands first.

tony: and so sometimes he allows very difficult things to come to our lives and and sometimes scriptures It does say. that he uses those things to to shape us and to discipline us and to grow us right does always have a ah fatherly loving purpose. And the goal is always to become more like Christ.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: and through those things. but there's a different kind of suffering that is a suffering that is the consequences of my own dumb decisions sometimes right and so i don't want to group those kinds of sufferings and with the real sufferings that somebody else is experiencing like it was my dad's decision to do this it wasn't mine

Danny Price: Right. No.

tony: kind of a thing, right?

Danny Price: Right.

tony: um And so. I think that plays into that second question is suffering. Does it ever happen needlessly? Oof.

tony: man that's a deep one and and i no no i think that's kind of like that question though you know like ah Why does God let...

Danny Price: Yeah, sorry.

tony: bad things happen to good people. That's just. you know that

Danny Price: Tough.

tony: you need a special four hour so session, you know. for for that one and we're still not going to cover it but

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: Um, So here's what how I would like to say that, just keeping in mind. um that God's... god's meta narrative though the whole story from the beginning to the end of the bible is is is about. His loving.

tony: pursuit of a relationship. but not necessarily fruit. we're not the center of that story still he is right so this this pursuit loving pursuit of relationship with us for his glory.

tony: Right, and so the one promise we always have in in scripture is that Um, Yeah, honestly. All suffering is needless. It didn't need to happen if we just obeyed him.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: right dude Read Deuteronomy chapter 28.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: It's like the old old chapter is like, hey, if you do.

Danny Price: hi Yep.

tony: like the first i don't know 15 20 verses if you obey me this is all the good stuff and it's a really long chapter and the rest of the chapter is like but if you don't

Danny Price: uh -huh

tony: Suffering, suffering, curse, curse, curse, curse, suffering, suffering, right?

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: Just obey me. So in that sense, yeah, all suffering is needless. but The promise of scripture is that God does everything he does. for his own glory. And because he's doing it for his glory, he does promise that for those who love him.

tony: He will work all things together for the glory. I mean, for the... for the good of those. We love him according to his purposes.

Danny Price: Right.

tony: So, in his hands. nothing is going to be useless. And that changes the that changes the perspective of how we're answering that question from needless to useless.

tony: right and so That's what I would want to remind people of is. Yeah, I can understand that sometimes. and And again, we're just answering questions to the best of our ability here.

Danny Price: Right.

tony: But that doesn't mean we can answer why. This person is experiencing this kind of suffering and we're not trying to you know I'm sorry, I don't know what the answer is for that for that necessarily.

Danny Price: Hmm.

Danny Price: Sure. Yeah, i believe as I believe that's right Um, it could just be speculative and i do and i did want to say this too potentially to guard against and and And I don't know what your thoughts are on this, but just with spiritual warfare.

tony: Okay.

Danny Price: I think. Sometimes we can read a little too far into it. And... I don't know if it's because we want. some kind of answer or some kind of peace that comes with knowing well you know this is why i must be doing such a great job for the kingdom that the devil has to attack me And maybe that's maybe in that case, it's accurate. It's not for me to say that.

Danny Price: But I do think there is a... um There's a lot of people that think that, you know, as as soon as I start. having success in my life in whatever area like for example you know, I And I think like like Christian success, like good success, not just like business success, but like I have been really on fire for the Lord recently. and you know I've been loving his word and I you know feel like I've been able to be part of the body and serving. and man things that seem to be going so right but then all of a sudden i'm experiencing all this

Danny Price: you know, all these things that are happening in my life that kind of came out of nowhere. And and a lot lot of people wonder, I wonder if that has to do with spiritual warfare and Satan's attacking me because things are going well. That's not one of the questions I sent in, but... What do you think about that?

tony: Man, that's loaded too. but because you know it's Because things be so nuanced, right?

Danny Price: Again sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

tony: And every situation is different.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: but

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: I'll go back to scripture as best I can. be recalling a lot of scripture right now in this that

Danny Price: Thanks.

tony: the The Bible doesn't... The Bible doesn't seem to... Like I can't think of anywhere in the Bible right now and I hate saying things like that because then all of a sudden somebody who like really focuses on this kind of stuff all the time say that you forgot about this verse But.

Danny Price: Ha ha.

tony: I can't think of a scripture right now that says, when things are going well in life.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: Satan attacks. that That may be true, and we hear it all the time. But what I know that scripture says that I should be focused on more is that God uses discipline.

tony: in my life to shape me when my heart isn't yet where he wants it to be.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: And. I think that's a... that's That's a better, like, so, okay. Bad stuff's coming in my life. Instead of thinking about like... Satan doing it. Why don't I just think about, okay, why is God allowing this?

tony: How is he wanting to shape me? Then it becomes something productive in my hands. The question does.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: The question becomes something productive in my hands and how to respond to the difficulties going on in my life.

Danny Price: Sure.

tony: um And. the the The other part of that, I think, is Um, Oh. had a thought and I lost it.

Danny Price: ah

tony: I hate when that happens. There was a second part to that I thought was was really important. But if it comes back, we can. We can circle back to it.

Danny Price: Yeah. I'm trying to see if I could jog it. I mean... Satan attacking. scripture that's that proved it or didn't prove it Um...

tony: Yeah. and we we We focus on what?

Danny Price: Trying to think. I'm trying to think

tony: Satan. It does but...

Danny Price: Trying to think how to jog it. Anyways.

tony: Yeah.

Danny Price: If it comes back to you, let me know. i because i do think that that is difficult and i do agree um Like thinking about it. I know like. you know obviously satan prowls around like a roaring lion seeking who he may devour But that doesn't say.

tony: Mm hmm.

Danny Price: You know, that doesn't say, and obviously when he tempted Jesus. You could try to make the, art I could see how you could try to make the argument and say. Well, Jesus was about to experience his ministry starting. And so because of that, Satan, but that's. I mean, that's Jesus. There's a lot of...

Danny Price: There's a lot of stuff there. I don't know if you can... draw a one -for -one conclusion there

tony: Mm hmm.

Danny Price: I'm trying to think of any other to other time. Father of Lies. He's called the Father of Lies. so you know

tony: Mm hmm.

Danny Price: I don't know that's No, i that's a good point. It's interesting.

tony: Hmm. Yeah, so... I'd rather focus on yeah what what God is doing in my life when hard stuff happens rather than...

Danny Price: Anyways...

tony: You know Satan's attacking me. I better get my spiritual warfare on Like. That's great. um you know Let's put our faith in action and let's believe in spiritual warfare because it is real.

tony: But. maybe the more productive question for our lives and and maybe getting through it. will happen faster if we focus on the other thing

Danny Price: Yeah

tony: I don't know if that applies in every situation. but

Danny Price: Yep.

tony: That seems to be what the scripture points us to more.

Danny Price: No, I like that last Last question that I had, and then we have some questions from listeners. Just to go back, just to reference what I'm talking about back in chapter two.

Danny Price: um Verse. 10. It's the end of that. um what i read before about you know behold the devil is about to throw some of you in prison that you may be tested

tony: the

Danny Price: 10b would say or says Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. So my question is, how do we... guard against falling away and i That's a loaded topic right there.

Danny Price: I'm not saying... necessarily losing felt salvation sorry i know you probably read it that way

tony: Yeah, these are these are good questions. you None of these are like, woo, easy.

Danny Price: Um, Um, But how do you how do you be faithful until death? How do we do that well? Pardon me. I don't know if you... written researched this but i dug into this a little bit and i'm sure you did but horatio spafford later in his life.

Danny Price: He kind of had some weird. fringe theological things that started to creep in and he kind of like you mentioned you know obviously his congregation rejected him before that happened but that he he goes off and he has some interesting things And I think it's a common tale of.

Danny Price: Someone does a great work. for the lord in their life and then towards the end of their life you you look at that and you go man even if they maybe have salvation i'm not saying they lose their salvation but they just they lost that kind of like what shane talked about earlier um In Revelation, they lost their first love. They didn't. they weren't faithful until death. And like, that's one of my biggest prayers is I want to be faithful until death in my life. I want to be one of those old guys that people look at and go, Oh, look at that. He never.

Danny Price: you know He lost his physical abilities, but he didn't lose his love for the Lord. He didn't lose his faith. um and he was faithful until death. like I want that to be said about me. So how how do we do that? what would you What would you say?

Danny Price: Sorry, that's a lot of... A lot of thoughts there.

tony: Yeah. It's good. um I think it's a great question, but I think... Where we get caught up. and thinking about that sometimes is. we think about the command to be faithful, right? and And then that kind of translates into the command that's also in in scripture, be obedient.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: And so when we look at it that way, it becomes kind of this burden. like i don't know if i'm going to be strong enough when the moment comes to be able to be obedient and to death or to to be faithful unto death i mean that feels like a lot of pressure and all of a sudden the thing that's a joy in my life has all of a sudden become...

Danny Price: Hmm.

Danny Price: Sure.

Danny Price: Mm.

tony: Bye. almost the enemy in the moment like Oh man, this is going to be the thing that kills me. And. I would say. I think the...

tony: The antithesis of that is to say we're not focusing on being faithful unto to death. And that's what he's communicating, but... The thing there is is the relationship, right? Would you give your life for your child?

Danny Price: Yes.

tony: Yeah, yeah, i I absolutely know you would. I would too. Would you give your...

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: Life for your wife.

Danny Price: Yes, 100%.

tony: Yeah. But we don't go around saying, Hey babe, I'm going to be faithful. to you unto death. Because the language then just can feel like...

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: i will I will give my life for you, babe, right?

Danny Price: What does that mean?

tony: Or I'll give my life for you, buddy, or something, right?

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: Son, daughter.

Danny Price: Sure.

tony: and it's a lot easier to think about in that context than we and we can feel the devotion because we're getting away from this negative connotation that i think the the enemy brings in sometimes oh I remembered what I was going to talk about.

tony: We'll come back to it in a second. ah

Danny Price: Awesome.

tony: but you know the enemy i think puts all that that weight on us and so if we just get away from Um, the being obedient until death or faithful to death and we think about the relationship that i'm investing in then it becomes a little easier like i Lord, I love you.

tony: I'm not going to renounce my love for you.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: You know? and And that's what we're talking about, about the faithfulness. I do believe in you. And I believe it's going to be okay.

Danny Price: That's a good framing.

tony: Yeah. I think that helps.

Danny Price: I like that framing. that's That's fantastic. That does help a lot.

tony: The thing I was thinking going to say a minute ago is the other piece of that. um

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: you know thinking about suffering the other piece that scripture tells me to focus on is you know there's there's three things that come against me even if satan didn't exist

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: you know if even if satan had been punished or destroyed. right after the fall. Would we still be sinners? Would we still have suffering and trial? Yeah, we totally would. because ah We're broken.

tony: And a lot of it comes from within. and Scripture talks about the pride of the eyes, the pride of the flesh, and the pride of life.

Danny Price: Yep.

tony: right the lust of the eyes the lust of the flesh and the pride of life

Danny Price: Mm hmm. Yep.

tony: And. those things come in. so a lot of time when the suffering comes in. It's like David in the Psalms again saying, Lord, search my heart. End. reveal to me anything that's That's a mess that I need to deal with.

tony: right and he says that several ways throughout many of those songs and so

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: I think that's the other piece of it. that we need to focus on. instead of going right to spiritual warfare sometimes.

Danny Price: Right. which and And you know, my experience. from people that I've talked to. They either... believe that spiritual warfare isn't a thing at all. or they away ah you know but oftentimes i think the other side is they way over emphasize it And I can come from a background where.

Danny Price: A lot of people that I knew. Just like growing up in childhood. um not maybe not intentionally like it wasn't like it was like i don't think they were trying to scare me but i think there was this emphasis of and my parents were not part of this this was just in case you know they're listening this is not them this is just like other things i heard and i don't know if it was like the culture of like the late 90s early 2000s and i don't know But I just remember hearing so many times about.

Danny Price: um yeah this is this is an attack this has to be an attack or this This is because you know, of X, Y, or Z thing. and um Oftentimes, I've heard the overemphasis of the spiritual warfare side.

Danny Price: where up to the point where, you know. It just has you second guessing everything. And like you said, a lot of it might just be. your own sinful brokenness that you're experiencing this or a consequence for. you know.

Danny Price: If you're addicted to gambling and you you know live in sin with that. and you're experiencing bankruptcy i don't think you can necessarily say well this is a spiritual attack kind of like maybe you could try to say that but This is a lot of your own doing as well.

Danny Price: um

tony: Mm hmm.

Danny Price: Yeah. Um, I don't know if you have any ah before we move on, but anything else to say about that? But that was my experience growing up.

tony: i just I think that's a good...

Danny Price: I don't know if you had that at all.

tony: I just think that's a good distinction to make for for some people, because if people truly want to grow in Christ and their relationships, sometimes they just need to change the question, right? And let's quit making excuses. I'm not saying that's always happening, but sometimes. That is the issue, right? and Um, Let's...

tony: let's look at ourselves and So what needs to happen? Um, So, yeah.

Danny Price: Yeah. Well, good. um next two questions are from listeners so thanks for sending in those in guys appreciate it It does help. you know Again, I have and um and I realize this, especially when I get to talk to Tony and other people who are guests. I've spent enough time with Shane.

Danny Price: We're on similar wavelengths and I know without him even answering sometimes how I think he's going to answer the question. Um, And because of that, like I, you know, we a lot of times we'll get in our own, not echo chamber, but our own little worlds of.

Danny Price: you know. thoughts that we've already regurgitated before but that's why i love getting questions and having guests on and people that you know like tony or other people because it's It. broadens our horizons of you know especially like looking at things from a biblical perspective differently i think it's important that you're not just... listening to the same thing. So I'm excited for this. First question is...

Danny Price: Um, then I'm just going to read it verbatim so I don't mess anything up. I think these stories often prompt a common question, but still but the still difficult one of why do bad things happen to those? that love God.

Danny Price: And then it says in verse 10. Verse 10 says, don't be afraid of what you are about to suffer. And this is their question. Are they are there a practical ways the Bible gives us to fight against that natural fear response?

tony: Mm hmm. So... Yeah. i'm not going to touch a question why do bad things happen to people who love god just because It's because of sin.

tony: right

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: And. And again, God uses certain things. but Going on to that the second question. Are there practical ways the Bible gives us to fight against that natural fear response?

tony: So first I want to highlight the truth that's in the end of that sentence, the natural fear response. fear is an emotional tool that god has put in all of us for good reasons every emotion we have is a tool

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: And if we learn to use the tools, if we're trained and taught how to use tools, then we can use the tools the right way.

Danny Price: Amen.

tony: Like there's nothing in us as an emotion, but even anger. Anger is a good emotion. It's a tool. but we're supposed to use how to learn how to use it right so it is a natural response.

tony: um And a lot of people, I think. A lot of people are aware that the Bible says 365 times. Do not fear. But actually... Many of the times. I wouldn't say every time because I haven't looked at every...

tony: Every instance, but many of those instances it actually says um something like

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: take courage, be of good heart. um you know But the idea is... it's It's not don't fear. Because... like you said fear is is a natural response the point is though is

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: Take courage, take heart. courage can't exist in the absence of fear. There has to be fear present.

Danny Price: Why would you need to be? Why would you need to have courage? Yeah. court Of course, yeah.

tony: Right. And courage is doing the right thing in the in the face of fear. And that's what the command is.

Danny Price: Yes. Hmm.

tony: right Like. is it Is it okay that I'm afraid of being thrown into a fire or being thrown into a lion's den? Yeah, I think it's okay to be afraid of that. But the point is, is, you know.

tony: Take courage. in In what you have. to think about right whatever that is and that's where that question becomes important like just in this moment what does faith require of me And applying whatever I believe the answer to that question is, that's my courage. That's me taking heart.

tony: Right.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: Don't let fear overwhelm you, cripple you, rob you of the questions and therefore rob you of anything faithful to do in the moment. right because you're paralyzed. But what does faith require of me?

tony: right here, right now.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: And that becomes me taking heart if I if i can apply it.

Danny Price: Nice. I really like that distinction. Um, when it comes to I guess having that courage. to fight that fear response. Is that something that...

Danny Price: We just try to muster up. um yeah This is more rhetorical. um how do we like if i'm just like i'm picturing this and maybe this is you know this is not the right situation but i'm just picturing in my mind like You are.

Danny Price: A Christian in... a different country where you're being more persecuted for your faith. And you know that maybe you're in China, for example, where it's illegal to be. outwardly christian that's not government sanctioned by like a church and you're in some house church and you realize that.

Danny Price: Your information got out and you're about to go through some suffering because you're probably going to get arrested and you're going to go through this suffering. persecution whatever How would that person? And that's a very extreme example, but I just wanted to take it that way. So maybe you could just answer this. How do you, do you just have courage? do Are you going to the scripture? and asking the lord like what's a practical way for that person that you know that's just That's right on the fringe, just like it sounds like these people are in Smyrna about to experience suffering. How do you practically...

Danny Price: um have courage do you just have it or is there something that you can do um Practically, I guess. I don't know.

tony: Yeah, that's a good question. You started off this question by saying this is kind of a rhetorical question. So let me let me put that back to you real quick and say.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: like How have you answered that before in your life?

Danny Price: Hmm.

Danny Price: This might this sounds wrong And it this is this is this is wrong. I know it is.

tony: Hmm.

Danny Price: I've just tried harder.

tony: Hmm.

Danny Price: um Like. For example, and this is not suffering, but when i've you know when I've had to public speak before or when I've had to do something that I don't want to do. I have kind of had the mentality of I'm just going to get over it. And I'm going to do it. And I probably.

Danny Price: you know, almost always will feel better. afterwards. Then I did go into it. and It'll be okay. I have not myself experienced any serious suffering. I've had some. health scares in my family when I was younger, and I've had some things but like I said, I've had a pretty easy life when it comes to the suffering. you know part of it But I'm just thinking of a time where I've needed to have courage.

tony: Mm hmm.

Danny Price: any at Any of those times, I have just tried to muster it. And either I do it or I don't. And sometimes I've fallen short and I haven't done a great job because I didn't have, you know, in my mind enough courage. and i just kind of flaked out or something but most of the time that's been my answer so i know that's not the right thing to say necessarily but that's the that's the truth

tony: Mm.

tony: Yeah, I think that I'd say. probably most of us in life have been there, right? that's That's been how kind of how we grow up. And what we learn to do, and that's what courage is, is kind of...

tony: put on put on a bold face Just keep going.

Danny Price: Yep.

tony: which means keep trying. which means in your own effort right kind of thing and so Yeah, I think I recognize that too. But I just really think.

tony: Um, It goes back to... The same thing like this is why I love marriage That's why marriage is so important to me because marriage is such a great illustration of the relationship between Brian.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: of Christ and Christ himself. And. Um. what makes my my relationship with my wife so powerful. and And so save.

tony: If it is safe. And mine is.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: is because I can be 100 % vulnerable. with my wife. in a way that I can't with anybody else. Right? And even if I could with anybody else, my wife.

tony: has permission and privilege and responsibility to minister to the me in that vulnerability in a way that nobody else can. and in creation

Danny Price: right

tony: right And so the the reciprocity, the reciprocal nature of of that relationship reveals to me. that. courage happens when I reach The end.

tony: of every resource of my own. and the resource. can also be hope. Right?

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: And so. When I have nothing left.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: of myself. and The only thing I have left is outside of myself And I have to surrender completely and be completely vulnerable.

tony: then I have to accept whatever is there to be given to me. and in a relationship with Jesus Christ. The thing that I have is the hope. Always have an answer for the hope that is in you.

tony: Right? I...

Danny Price: Thanks.

tony: Lord, I don't know. I honestly can't see how you're going to turn this thing around. I honestly don't see how you're going to make this this come back. I don't see how you can rescue this one.

tony: But my hope is in you. And so I think true and we When we read some of those things in scriptures, true courage is really, it has nothing to do with effort. We don't see that in in a lot of the illustrations. There are a lot of times.

tony: That the Bible is obviously somebody has to take an action step and they just be obedient to do what God has told them to do So that's effort

Danny Price: Right. Sure.

tony: but what we're talking about in context of suffering. right and that we've

Danny Price: Yeah. Yes.

tony: this sermon was is That seems to be more of coming to a place. Courage really is coming to the place where. We have nothing left and we have to accept. the resources.

tony: that are absolutely 100 % outside of ourselves. and we have to be completely dependent on those to be delivered to us despite any effort of our own.

Danny Price: Great.

tony: That makes me think of Israel at the Red Sea.

Danny Price: Yep.

tony: completely hopeless in that moment and then

Danny Price: just Yep.

tony: BAM!

Danny Price: hup

tony: um returning from exile. You kidding me, God? prophesied and then rose up a man named cyrus who was like one of the most evil dudes and powerful dudes in the world and through him he brought the people back from exodus like come on man there's like right

Danny Price: Oh, man.

Danny Price: It's crazy. crazy Crazy.

tony: totally dependent on resources outside of ourselves.

Danny Price: Yep.

tony: And so just believing then, now we get back to the faith thing, but a real meaning of faith. trusting. that the resource that God offers me. outside of any effort of my own.

tony: That takes real courage. in today's world

Danny Price: I love that. No, i I love that. That's that's that's helpful. And that was a good question to put it back on to what I do. Cause that definitely just. It opens it up. um because there's again like i again i don't know if i've been there and i'm trying to think Have I been at a spot where I'm at the very end of my rope like that?

Danny Price: And it's hard because i I don't know if I have. um Just being completely honest.

tony: Yeah. And I think sometimes it's more important to start with.

Danny Price: So.

tony: Well, hey, what is what has your experience been? in answering questions like that. That's one of those questions.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: rather than starting with a theological answer.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: Well, let's start with an experience. What have you experienced? What do you know to be true? Or what have you what have you tried?

Danny Price: That was perfect That was perfect. Great. next Last question that we have, again, from a listener. was, is there any way...

Danny Price: to make the reality of heaven feel more tangible. I'm guessing that not on obviously on this side of eternity. That's what they meant. Is there any way?

tony: Yeah.

Danny Price: to make the reality of heaven feel more tangible.

tony: I wonder if they meant tangible, and if they did, that's a very insightful word for that. Like, how can I make... heaven feel more tangible here and now like we're talking about the already not yet

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: right, the promise. and Um,

tony: So that's that's really insightful. but if they meant practical too. I guess maybe the answer is the same.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: The only thing I can think of. is there's a couple prayers that that Jesus, one he taught us. In John chapter 6. And then there's his.

tony: I'm sorry, Matthew chapter 6. and then in his prayer in Matthew chapter 17. in the midst of his. worst. night of his life.

Danny Price: Mhm.

tony: And then. Also in Matthew, I think, chapter 28. And. we're And here's the things that i that come to my mind from those. When he teaches us to pray, he says, not my will, but thy will be done.

tony: Now if we've learned that rote and it kind of flows off our tongue because it's you know, we it sounds right and you know it feels good to say but if we stop and think about it If I'm really praying.

tony: If I'm really meditating or if I have meditated in my life and what it means to, again, be vulnerable and surrender and say, God, not my will, but your will be done.

Danny Price: Mm hmm.

tony: Then that that has to bring me into the presence of God in a very different way than my my personal needs and my agenda often can. And so. If I can spend more time in that place.

tony: Not my will, Father, but your be done. on earth as it is in heaven and i can spend time there in the presence of god meditating and what that really means i think number one that can help

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: It's the transforming ah of my mind, which then transforms my my thinking and my behavior and my spirit.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: um but something else i learned from jesus is he said when he was praying in his darkest moments. Not on the cross, but right before what he said.

tony: Um, Lord. Give me. the glory I had. when I was with you before. the beginning of the world.

Danny Price: m

tony: And so. he's remembering and he's reflecting on this relationship that he knows he's going to have now he had the experience of remembering what it was but The point that we can take from that is thinking about this relationship that I am going to have.

tony: And I mean, truly, honestly.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: Um, You think about things that you've heard from POWs in in war camps through you know Vietnam and other things in history.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: out these beautiful works of art that came from prisoners because that's what they meditated on and think about it in in a pow camp a piece of heaven became real to them and they were able to focus and that that changed their whole experience and and it got them through in a different way

Danny Price: Hmm.

Danny Price: Fair enough.

tony: And then later on again.

Danny Price: Yeah.

tony: You know, Jesus says in the Matthew 28, chapter 28, he says, again, Not my will, but yours be done. So focusing on the my point is focusing on the relationship that we can have right now if we focus on on His will and the the relationship that we're going to have in heaven where everything is going to be.

tony: like Let's just take the word glory there.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: It's going to be so glorious.

Danny Price: Sure.

tony: beyond what we can imagine. And if we can make that real and spend time meditating on that and letting ourselves be in God's presence and say, Man, I can't wait. I can't wait daddy until that day when I can see you and my faith is made sight.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: I can't wait until this day. we can I can do things I was intended to do. And there's there's no fear and no and nothing else. And he's like, I can't wait for it either, son. Daughter.

Danny Price: That's cool Hmm.

tony: and I think that will help make Kevin a little bit more real. and maybe a little bit more tangible here.

Danny Price: um I think... In my experience. And maybe this is more of the eternal mindset. It feels like the idea of eternity. It's hard.

Danny Price: Because everything in our life is so. Temporary And... Unless we specifically... like you Like you said, is unless we specifically transform and renew our mind.

Danny Price: the natural thought pattern of us. as humans, I think is to always go back to. what's right in front of us at the time and because we live such busy lives and because we're doing a lot of stuff that has to do with the temporary including the way that we deal with and speak to people and talk to them as we're not talking like you know When I'm talking to my wife, oftentimes, like I forget, I'm talking to so i'm talking to someone that's going to exist for...

Danny Price: you know, in God's kingdom forever. I'm not talking to just someone temporarily in the situation that I'm frustrated in or or happy about or whatever it is.

tony: Mm hmm.

Danny Price: I think that that's been a. Hard thing for me that I've worked on is to see people. From that perspective And obviously that's not that's not what this question is asking about heaven being tangible, but the eternal perspective.

tony: No, but that's wow. That's a powerful thought. I really like that. I don't think I've thought that.

Danny Price: I just...

tony: had that consideration before.

Danny Price: it Yeah. But it blew my mind the other day. oh yeah i should say the other day three like a few months ago we were talking Um, This is where I was just working at camp. I was talking with all of our summer staff about this and I was saying, you know, how much differently do you would you treat someone knowing that?

Danny Price: you know, they're bound for eternity and, you know, hopefully, you know, that that that bound fraternity is with with Jesus and his kingdom, but the way that you treat that person is radically different. And it's radically different.

Danny Price: What? you know. how much value they have as well. versus where is you know like what is currency that I'm dealing with in this exchange. you know I just want... you know. whatever it is out of this interaction, or I see them as a temporary, you know, just like whatever.

Danny Price: my my my my path crossing with them is all that matters to me right right right here and then

tony: Hmm.

Danny Price: And. how How am I going to win here? What's advantageous for me? And if you're you're not viewing things selfishly, you're totally looking at it from a different perspective. And I've struggled with that because I, you know.

tony: Hmm.

Danny Price: I'm very distracted by what's right in front of me. And I don't think...

tony: Mm hmm.

Danny Price: I'm not thinking you know. far out, I guess, as as I probably should be. I know that's not what this question is saying about heaven, obviously, because it's talking about you know heaven. I'm not saying people are heaven. I'm just saying it's interesting that that, and that has helped, I think.

Danny Price: thinking more about eternity and more about... the destiny of people around me rather than just. what's right in front of me.

tony: Mm hmm.

Danny Price: So.

tony: Um,

Danny Price: Anyways, yeah.

tony: I think it's a great conversation, but I think also where you just ended brings us back full circle too. you know what is my agenda and what am i pursuing right it's part of a definition of suffering at least the first one i gave um but Like even in the moment, what am I really longing for?

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: I'm just longing for... You know, the pain to go away, that's not the same thing as saying, I'm longing for the best life God wants to give me.

Danny Price: Hmm.

tony: right the absence of this pain just make it stop it's not the same thing as make me the best you know, bring the best possible experience into my life. That's a different desire, a different pursuit.

tony: a different end state.

Danny Price: That's really good.

tony: Yeah, so.

Danny Price: Totally.

tony: So.

Danny Price: Totally.

tony: I think that's a good full circle on that.

Danny Price: So hopefully that answers. questions guys so thanks for sending those in

tony: yeah

Danny Price: Um, that That rounds us out for the episode. That's all that's all that I had. Before I end it, is there anything... that you wanted just to... that maybe something else that you remember or anything else that you wanted to touch on from the sermon. Any last thoughts?

tony: Um, No. I. I hope I said what I needed to say on Sunday and I hope this has been. a blessing and useful too right Yeah.

Danny Price: Right. That's the goal. That's what we're trying that's whatre that's what I'm trying for. i'm having um I'm having fun doing this, but... I'm always hoping that it's it's beneficial and it's not just us talking. so

tony: yeah I think it is.

Danny Price: Um, I know me and Shane talked about it last week.

tony: I like it.

Danny Price: If you guys have any feedback... you I'd love feedback. Um, I know. I'm already aware. so of a little bit of some of the weaknesses like i mentioned earlier of like you know it can be the shane and danny echo chamber sometimes because we only have so much um original thought and perspective on scripture but I'm hoping that you guys might have some insight. know Even if it's new things that we could try. or maybe even take take out or change the length. you know um we might not We might not do it, but...

Danny Price: I do love hearing own ideas and that's super helpful. so Appreciate all you guys listening.

tony: Yeah, and we have a lot of very... smart. and spiritually mature people out there. so

Danny Price: Yeah, exactly. we have We have a really cool congregation at Mountain View. So. Um. But yeah, that's that's the episode, guys. Thanks, Tony, for being on.

tony: and Thanks for having me again.

Danny Price: I know it's been a second.

tony: Appreciate it.

Danny Price: I really wanted to get you on to do a recap from summer, but it took me so long to get this back up and going. I don't know if you're still interested in doing that or if you've kind of passed the moment. What do you think?

tony: I'd love to do a recap on some of the things from the summer. Especially from my series, you know, there was a series there and there was a lot in that but um so if there's something you'd like to do yeah i'm all for it
