Speaker: Welcome to The Psychic Apprentice.
Speaker: The Psychic Apprentice is hosted by Amber Hadley, a novice psychic who is on a mission to become a successful and effective medium.
Speaker: Each episode features a different guest who is an expert in the field of mediumship, psychic abilities, or paranormal phenomena.
Speaker: Together we'll learn from these guests and apply their teachings to our own journeys of psychic development.
Speaker: Sit back, listen, and learn with us.
Speaker: Hi, it's Amber Hadley with The Psychic Apprentice, and today we have an awesome episode with Janine Kim.
Speaker: She is a medium, a 5D astrologer, yogi, a teacher, and an author.
Speaker: She's also an intuitive reader, and she has international clients, so she's quite the experience that we can learn from today.
Speaker: And Janine, if you just want to introduce yourself a little bit and let us know about the work that you're doing today so we can get to know you a little bit.
Speaker: Sure.
Speaker: Thank you for having me, Amber.
Speaker: I really appreciate it.
Speaker: I love the work that I do.
Speaker: And what I work with with my clients outside of the intuitive aspect is that I use the intuition.
Speaker: I use the astrology, but I really enjoy bringing my clients to what I call sustainable relationships.
Speaker: whole self transformation.
Speaker: So I include all the other parts of the person.
Speaker: I just don't give them intuitive information, but I give them settled insight as to how they could answer to all four of their bodies every day of their life.
Speaker: That's awesome.
Speaker: That's perfect.
Speaker: So you're kind of like a holistic sort of practitioner.
Speaker: You kind of take into account every piece of the puzzle.
Speaker: I am technically I'm an HHP, which is a holistic health practitioner.
Speaker: And I've also studied traditional Chinese medicine and I have my yoga certification as well.
Speaker: And you learn all about that in, you know, when you're, when you're learning those, those crafts for sure.
Speaker: Awesome.
Speaker: Perfect.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And we brought you on today just to introduce our topic a little bit.
Speaker: So we have Unraveling Your Motivation.
Speaker: Why do you want to do this?
Speaker: I think that this is a very, very important subject and a really good starting point for anybody who really wants to get into mediumship, psych abilities, healing, or any of the things that you've mentioned in your vast experience.
Speaker: And I
Speaker: I think that motivation is really closely related to ethics.
Speaker: And a lot of people, when they want to jump into their psychic or mediumship journey, they kind of skip this step and have to go back and think about it later.
Speaker: So can you give me a little bit of an idea of why questioning this or asking yourself this might be important for myself or the listeners?
Speaker: I love that.
Speaker: Sure.
Speaker: It's, you know, in my work, I not only do one on one readings where it just may be like, you know, somebody every few months, but I work in mentoring programs.
Speaker: And one of my main mentoring programs is called Into the Mystic.
Speaker: And with that, it is about going into your own mystic or mystical self.
Speaker: And so I always ask my clients, why is it you want to do this?
Speaker: Because in there, I share with them that what we'll do is we'll heal all these parts of you, clear them out, so then you can access the empty that can receive these intuitive answers.
Speaker: However, so many people will come to me and they're like, well,
Speaker: know i went to this psychic training and it was you know i read a psychic book how you know how to do it and it was just a few easy steps and it's still not working and i'm like okay cool like those easy steps are great but when you want to read for somebody or receive really neutral information it is so important that you know whether the information is your bias
Speaker: or if it's actually coming from that pure empty space that we can come to know,
Speaker: once we travel inside.
Speaker: And that really speaks to what you were mentioning about ethics.
Speaker: And so the work that I do, I ask them all the time, why do you want to do this?
Speaker: Do you want it just so you could have a couple answers for how to get back at the guy at work or try to, I want to be unique, you know, so I want to be unique or I want to be a healer.
Speaker: And that's a whole other topic.
Speaker: I know we could go down is that you really can't heal anybody.
Speaker: And all of those things,
Speaker: They're great for first few steps, but they're really speaking to ego.
Speaker: And whatever gets you on the road is great.
Speaker: But if you ask yourself this first, because being an intuitive is really, I feel, an invitation to a different way to live.
Speaker: Right, right.
Speaker: And it's so funny that you say, a lot of people come to you and say, I read this book and it laid out these steps and they were just three easy steps and you're a medium, right?
Speaker: And I think that's one of the reasons that I started this podcast, honestly, because when I went out looking for information too, that's sort of what I found in a lot of spaces.
Speaker: And I said to myself, it can't be.
Speaker: this easy.
Speaker: There's got to be more to it or everybody, well, maybe not everybody, but a lot more people would be doing it.
Speaker: And I also think that one of the things that a lot of these sources don't outline is
Speaker: not only is it more comprehensive and takes a lot more than what's laid out, I also think it's a great responsibility as well.
Speaker: And the fact that, you know, you ask yourself, why do I want to do this?
Speaker: I think that needs to be factored in too.
Speaker: Like, do I really want to take on this responsibility?
Speaker: Because you're tapping into, you know, people's loved ones that have passed or traumas that they've felt or had that,
Speaker: And that's very heavy for you as an individual.
Speaker: But then also, once you get that information, it's kind of your responsibility to
Speaker: do something with it and to do something good with it.
Speaker: And I think that's an aspect that the more that I look into this, the more I think would be good to let people know that, right?
Speaker: It's part of the ethics portion of that.
Speaker: That is a huge part of it.
Speaker: And I say that every time when I'm teaching this, when I'm bringing this forth for them.
Speaker: And
Speaker: I fully believe that we are all built this way.
Speaker: And I am, I, I've been this way since birth.
Speaker: I've been doing it professionally for almost 30 years.
Speaker: And what I could say is I'm the canary in the coal mine.
Speaker: I truly believe that.
Speaker: And the canary in the coal mine is, you know, the canary is not saying I'm different than you guys in the coal mine.
Speaker: You know, the guys in the coal mine were dying from the exhaust, every, all the chemicals that were in there or the air that wasn't healthy for them.
Speaker: the canary would come.
Speaker: And when the canary died, then they knew it was time to get out because it hadn't reached them yet.
Speaker: And so I am just a reflection of what we're all capable of, but I live my life very differently.
Speaker: And I, I understand that I don't need to switch in or interject my bias into the messaging that's coming.
Speaker: And I do that for myself.
Speaker: I mean, I've spent a better portion of my life trying to clear my karma.
Speaker: The last thing I want to do is bring any more on by hurting anybody.
Speaker: Just like you said, with the words, with the messaging or with my thoughts.
Speaker: And when I do this work,
Speaker: I always check in and ask myself when I'm done, what part of that was about me?
Speaker: What part of that was here a message for me?
Speaker: And there's so many ways to practice this.
Speaker: One of them is remote viewing, and there's so many other ways to really look at things in a super neutral way.
Speaker: But if you go in with that consideration that you may discover something that's beyond your belief,
Speaker: Being true to this work means being true to that messaging.
Speaker: And that neutral messaging is coming from a God source, the universe, something beyond you.
Speaker: So you have to really be prepared for that.
Speaker: And that is a lot of power and responsibility.
Speaker: Absolutely.
Speaker: And when you say you kind of check in with yourself and see what was for me, do you
Speaker: kind of have a debrief?
Speaker: Do you need time after doing this work to really go in and like clear yourself?
Speaker: What does that look like and how has that impacted you?
Speaker: And have you always done that or is it something you learned to do?
Speaker: You're, oh my gosh, you're asking the best questions.
Speaker: Yes, I do it every single time.
Speaker: Every time.
Speaker: I have to.
Speaker: I cannot do this work unless I take care of
Speaker: of my energy, and I call it energetic hygiene.
Speaker: On my website, I have sacred clearing.
Speaker: And I know I didn't, I didn't do it all the time.
Speaker: And I came to realize what that felt like in my system.
Speaker: And I know many
Speaker: readers, healers, intuits that don't do that clearing.
Speaker: And they, the energy within them is not their own.
Speaker: And so they're carrying other people's karma.
Speaker: They're carrying other people's wounding and illnesses.
Speaker: It's, it's, you know, we're only kind of focused on the physical, but there's three other bodies.
Speaker: There's the spiritual body, the mental body, the emotional body, and then the physical body.
Speaker: And the physical body is the holograph of the other three.
Speaker: So it just shows outwardly or tangibly.
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: The other bodies are being affected.
Speaker: It's the denser version.
Speaker: And so when we understand that, it's not the other way around.
Speaker: You know, it's in, in, but we've been oriented to feel like, oh, if an illness comes, or if I feel this way, it's just the physical affront.
Speaker: And I can sense somebody's illness or discomfort.
Speaker: I don't even see them.
Speaker: I do my readings.
Speaker: My eyes are closed because I see it and feel it in their energy first.
Speaker: So when we have that paradigm shift within us, then we could start the healthy path of being a reader that really considers the whole individual and your own health and well-being while you're doing the work.
Speaker: Kind of like understanding yourself or, you know, putting the oxygen mask on yourself before you go and help somebody else because you're not going to be useful if you don't take care of yourself.
Speaker: And I also feel like it's very interesting because I in the media have heard mediums or psychics say that they're very physically impacted or they're exhausted after readings or they feel like they're taking a piece of
Speaker: of the person they were reading with them.
Speaker: And then that's kind of full stop where you don't see anymore.
Speaker: And I think that's the portion that's missing for people who want to become mediums or healers is that, okay, yes, this is the way that you feel and it can take a toll and it can reflect on your physical body.
Speaker: But you learn that there's ways to take care of that.
Speaker: And there's ways to really, like you said, have energetic hygiene, which I love that term, by the way.
Speaker: You don't think of it that way.
Speaker: You think of hygiene, you just think physical body, like you said, because that's thinking beyond what we can just see with our eyes, right?
Speaker: That's great.
Speaker: No, it's so true.
Speaker: Boundaries are everything.
Speaker: Boundaries are everything here.
Speaker: And it has so much to do, again, the boundaries are the mindset.
Speaker: It goes back to the question, why are you doing this?
Speaker: And a lot of people can feel, my gosh, I want to heal somebody or I want to be different.
Speaker: I want to stand out.
Speaker: But when you start working with those other energies and you just absorb and contain, because essentially that's what you're doing.
Speaker: When you read another individual, you're going into their energy field.
Speaker: I can...
Speaker: I will feel a pocket of emotion come up and out.
Speaker: And I know it's not mine.
Speaker: I've been doing this long enough.
Speaker: I'm like, oh, here comes some sadness.
Speaker: And it's the other person that hasn't purged that yet.
Speaker: Or I feel the rage or I feel whatever they're feeling.
Speaker: But when we leave, I always have to be very clear and separate that out and own my energy.
Speaker: But if we are not feeling whole or full or we're lost or we're empty on the inside,
Speaker: then the energetic exchange when we have with other people is driven by our ego and we're just going to let it pour into us.
Speaker: And it helps nobody doesn't help them and doesn't help you.
Speaker: It's so interesting when you put it in those terms, it makes me wonder, I'm a person who has like a quote unquote social battery, right?
Speaker: I love people.
Speaker: I love to be around them, but I also like my own space because, you know, it,
Speaker: other people's energy and things happening around you, it can be draining to some people, especially if you're you don't just have a social battery or you're sort of, you know, a person who likes to be to themselves or you're a little bit more of an introvert.
Speaker: Would you say that that
Speaker: it's a similar comparison or would it be hard for an introvert or somebody who feels that way to do this kind of work?
Speaker: Because it's, it's going even beyond just being around people and their energy is really taking it into you and working with that.
Speaker: Um, it's just, I've never thought of that before.
Speaker: I think that's, that's an interesting thing to consider.
Speaker: Actually, it's everything.
Speaker: And what I say about this work, again, it's an invitation to be with yourself differently.
Speaker: And what I mean by that is I have it on my website, Tometnosuke, which means to know thyself.
Speaker: And so I remember when I was first being able to...
Speaker: be around people who could reflect back to me what my gift was.
Speaker: I had this since I was a child, but whenever I would say things, visions that I had, people mostly got scared, which of course is kind of spooky, right?
Speaker: I would see something in a dream and they're like, what?
Speaker: And then it's right there.
