Speaker: Welcome to The Psychic Apprentice.

Speaker: The Psychic Apprentice is hosted by Amber Hadley, a novice psychic who is on a mission to become a successful and effective medium.

Speaker: Each episode features a different guest who is an expert in the field of mediumship, psychic abilities, or paranormal phenomena.

Speaker: Together we'll learn from these guests and apply their teachings to our own journeys of psychic development.

Speaker: Sit back, listen, and learn with us.

Speaker: Hi and welcome to The Psychic Apprentice.

Speaker: I am Amber, a novice psychic medium looking to continue my journey and learn from the professionals in this field and industry.

Speaker: And today I have a super exciting guest with me.

Speaker: This is David Caron.

Speaker: He is a medium, author, hypnotherapist, and emotional optimization coach.

Speaker: I met him through his awesome online platform, the Zen Ed Academy.

Speaker: And I'll just hand it over to you to kind of explain to the listeners in the audience what that is.

Speaker: I know that it was super helpful for me and I definitely recommend it, but you'll be able to explain it a little better than me.

Speaker: Sure.

Speaker: So Zenit Academy is, that's kind of our baby project, our pet project that my wife and I, my wife Heather and I have been kind of creating and cultivating since we started working with people on their emotions and their intuition since 2004.

Speaker: That's kind of when we started doing our client work.

Speaker: That evolved over time into coursework then, or it evolved into, um,

Speaker: in-line or online, not online, in-person events and things like that, where we teach people how to trust your intuition, how to work on your emotions and kind of combine those two.

Speaker: And then eventually it evolved into becoming an online school.

Speaker: And that's kind of what it is now.

Speaker: So in there, we teach people how to trust their intuition, how to work on their emotions, how to kind of bring both of those together, what we call the science of self-growth and the magic of mysticism.

Speaker: So combining those two in a really, really powerful way that not only helps you to develop your intuitive gifts like mediumship, but it also helps you to work on the emotions underneath so that you become more clear with your gifts.

Speaker: Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker: And, you know, I found the Zen at Academy pretty early in my evolution of trying to figure out, you know, if I could do this and if I was prepared.

Speaker: I had taken a workshop in person at a place called Casadega near me.

Speaker: And then from there, I felt like I didn't have too many resources.

Speaker: So I went online, actually found you guys through YouTube.

Speaker: I think that that's how a lot of people find their group of people or where they're meant to be.

Speaker: And that's when I joined the Zenet Academy.

Speaker: And I got so much value out of a lot of the courses that you have there.

Speaker: And

Speaker: kind of leads me into what this episode is about.

Speaker: So the title of this episode is The Importance and Impact of Emotional Processing on Intuitive Development and Mediumship.

Speaker: And when we talked, you know, you got on Zoom with me before I signed up and explained how everything works.

Speaker: You recommended that I start with sort of a more self-help path.

Speaker: before I jumped into like the advanced psychic mediumship stuff and all of that.

Speaker: And of course, as a person who's just jumping into this, you're like, well, I want to get to poltergeists and I want to hear about saving people and doing astral travel and all of that other stuff.

Speaker: But

Speaker: I think it was really, really great to have that advice from you because I think I started at a much better place.

Speaker: So let's talk a little bit about why it's so important to make sure that you're taking care of yourself and your emotional processes before you jump into the meat and potatoes of mediumship.

Speaker: before you start taking clients or kind of getting in over your head.

Speaker: So how did you get to the point or where in your journey did you realize that this is the real starting point?

Speaker: So for me, being a medium, being intuitive since I was a kid, it was really...

Speaker: understanding how much the emotions got in the way.

Speaker: And I didn't realize that until later on in the journey.

Speaker: But when I look back, if I had somebody who could let me know, like I did for you,

Speaker: hey, work on your emotional stuff first or while you're doing it.

Speaker: It doesn't have to be first, like you're doing the emotional stuff, you get all emotionally cool and then you start.

Speaker: No, you're gonna start the cool stuff as well.

Speaker: But if you're not working on your emotional stuff underneath it,

Speaker: you're going to have all kinds of messages that come in that have to go through your emotional filters.

Speaker: Because the way the brain works is that is your conduit.

Speaker: That is your gateway for messages to come through.

Speaker: In order for that to be more clear so that you can get more clear messages, you have to clear out the freeway.

Speaker: right, the freeway between your subconscious and conscious minds.

Speaker: Because if you don't, you've got all this clutter on the road and you're trying to navigate to have a clear message or to deliver a clear message or even to receive a clear message.

Speaker: And if that's not clear,

Speaker: Well, then you got accidents on the road.

Speaker: You're like, oh, you have these fear responses that are not necessarily the message that's coming through.

Speaker: And most messages, they're not going to come from fear, especially when you've got a spirit, for example, if we're talking about mediumship, when you've got a spirit who's already transitioned,

Speaker: they've already found their way home, they're not going to deliver a fear-based message, right?

Speaker: So when you've got a spirit that's stuck in between, they might be delivering a fear-based message.

Speaker: And you can't tell the difference if you've got your unresolved subconscious issues that are clouding that communication.

Speaker: Sure.

Speaker: So is this sort of the idea of being unbiased and coming in without your preconceived notions, right?

Speaker: Because

Speaker: The idea of mediumship is to give clear messages one way and the other way, right?

Speaker: You're that conduit, that middle piece, hence mediumship.

Speaker: The medium, right?

Speaker: Right, right.

Speaker: You wouldn't want your microphone to be biased against you, right?

Speaker: And to distort your message or to distort the message that you're receiving.

Speaker: which I think is so interesting.

Speaker: I think that a lot of this stuff, you don't really know until you get into it.

Speaker: Have you found that some students or people or mentees or people that you've mentored, they come to you and you kind of have to pull apart what they're doing and say like, hey, you are absolutely making contact, but

Speaker: you've got a bunch of stuff in the way, like, and maybe they think they're receiving fear-based messages or they're being haunted or something like that.

Speaker: Do you see that a lot?

Speaker: Because I, until I really looked into this and found this at an academy, I didn't even think about it, you know?

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: So the fear-based messages, we see this a lot in the field, not necessarily with a lot of people that we work with.

Speaker: There have been few.

Speaker: But people that tend to find us are ready to work on the emotional stuff.

Speaker: They're ready to clear it out.

Speaker: They're ready to kind of resolve the unresolved issues emotionally that they've got going on.

Speaker: But we see it in the field a lot.

Speaker: So in the field of mediumship, in the field of intuition, we see a lot of people that will be delivering messages and they think they're doing a service to somebody by warning them of whatever this fear-based message is.

Speaker: Oh, well, you've got to be careful of...

Speaker: So let's take tarot, for example, because that's another intuitive art.

Speaker: Oh, you've got to be careful of this person, this love interest, because they're shady.

Speaker: They're doing this.

Speaker: They're doing that.

Speaker: And really, that might very well be coming from whomever is doing the reading, their unresolved emotional issues, their unresolved relationship fears, for example.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: If they're going through a bad relationship right at that moment that they're giving you the reading, they might be a little more biased to be like, break up with them, girl.

Speaker: What's wrong with you?

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: And you'll see that on YouTube a lot.

Speaker: You're like, oh, well, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker: And they think they're delivering a clear message.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: When most of the time, if it's a message that is about, say, let's go with relationships.

Speaker: If it is a relationship that you're getting messages or you're receiving information that maybe this relationship is not the best for you.

Speaker: If it's coming from a clear message, there's going to be action steps that you can take that are positive.

Speaker: It's like, hey, be aware of this.

Speaker: And here's what you can do as an action item, as an action step that will get you out of this thing or help you to resolve the things inside of yourself, the neediness, the codependence, whatever those are.

Speaker: You can deliver the same message without the fear if you work on your emotions.

Speaker: Yeah, I just, I think that that's such a good message because I feel like most people, maybe not all, but most people that want to get into these sorts of things, whether that's tarot, mediumship, any sort of mystic art, we could call it, they have good intentions, right?

Speaker: We want to do good by people.

Speaker: That's the whole purpose of us doing this.

Speaker: We want to be of service to the world.

Speaker: We want to use our gift to help people.

Speaker: But there's that unintentional

Speaker: That's the unintentional consequences of not...

Speaker: being self-aware.

Speaker: So what would you say if someone like me, I'm just getting into mediumship, I'm talking to people that are professionals in the field, like personally, I've had lots of experiences in the past that I really didn't have control over.

Speaker: They happened to me randomly, they happened often, but I didn't, I don't know if I was interpreting them correctly.

Speaker: I didn't really know what to do with them.

Speaker: what would be like the first thing that you would have me do?

Speaker: What like, like an actionable sort of tip, like, okay, this is, this is a good starting point for you.

Speaker: Perfect.

Speaker: An actionable tip for when you're just starting out, you've got messages coming in a lot.

Speaker: And this is very, very common when you've got messages that are coming in, especially say, for example, from a young age, and you've got all of these experiences that are chalked up that you couldn't understand, you didn't have the tools for, you didn't have the education around.

Speaker: Take any one of those.

Speaker: Look back on it with what you know now and start to distinguish what we call discernment.

Speaker: Discern what was your issues, what are your unresolved pieces around it, and what was the actual message.

Speaker: So you can take any snapshot of any experience from your past.

Speaker: with what you know now, looking back on it and kind of breaking it down because you're more evolved now than you were then, even if you haven't been educated, you have more experience around it.

Speaker: So when you look back, it's easier to take that and dissect it, which is going to help you with your next evolution, whatever that is, whether you get more education or whether you just get more experiences.

Speaker: Right, right.

Speaker: So hindsight's 20-20 basically.

Speaker: I feel like- Hindsight's even better than 20-20.

Speaker: Whatever the better than that is-

Speaker: Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker: And I think that one thing that I've started to do that I think will be really helpful for me later down the road is journaling, right?

Speaker: Like I've started keeping a dream journal.

Speaker: I've started journaling experiences that I've had.

Speaker: And I think the more detail that you can put down, the better, right?

Speaker: Like, what did you hear, smell, see?

Speaker: What did you feel?

Speaker: How did you feel the next day or immediately after?

Speaker: Because looking back, if I have all of these details, because, you know, things get foggy over time, I'll be able to really kind of break that down a lot better than I would if I just experienced it and kind of let it go.

Speaker: Yeah, so that's a great technique to use is journaling because first off, when you're journaling, you have basically a direct, especially when you're paper journaling, like writing down physically, you have a direct connection with your subconscious mind.

Speaker: And what you're doing as you're doing that is you're learning

Speaker: How you operate, how you work, how your psychic instrument, and what we say is the body, the entire body, your entire body and mind is a psychic instrument, right?

Speaker: It is an intuitive instrument.

Speaker: And if you learn how you particularly receive information, process information, and deliver information, you get stronger and stronger at it.

Speaker: You can start to distinguish between what is yours and what is not,

Speaker: What are your messages?

Speaker: What are not?

Speaker: What is coming from your subconscious and what is coming from something more than that?

Speaker: And journaling gives you that, and especially dream journaling, for example, gives you that snapshot of, oh, okay, this is what it means.

Speaker: And when we're talking about non-bias, we call that being neutral.

Speaker: So being neutral, being non-biased is observing, observing the information coming in, observing the message coming in, observing how your mind is operating without attachment.

Speaker: So you can be massively compassionate if you're reading for somebody or reading with somebody without being attached to the outcome.

Speaker: Like, oh, I have to make sure that they have a good reading.

Speaker: I have to make sure.

Speaker: That can be hard.

Speaker: It can.

Speaker: It can.

Speaker: But making sure.

Speaker: Right?

Speaker: Like, you know, you want...

Speaker: things to turn out a certain way for them or you want them to leave feeling happier oh i've spoken to my loved one right like and i think that that's something to to pay attention to right like we can't we can't control who comes through

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: So I could imagine that sometimes if you have a reading or somebody that comes to you and they're like, I really want to speak to my dad.

Speaker: I really, really, really want to speak to my dad.

Speaker: And their uncle comes through.

Speaker: You might start trying to fit a square, you know, into a round hole, right?

Speaker: Like it's a man, so it must be your father, right?

Speaker: Like, I feel like that, that I've, I've seen that I've actually had that in readings because one of the things you do when you want to become a medium is you get a bunch of readings and then,

Speaker: And see what it's like.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker: That's great that you brought that up because when you're doing any kind of a reading for somebody, whether that's tarot or mediumship or just an intuitive reading or whatever, make it a partnership because you don't need the burden all placed on you to deliver something positive.

Speaker: There's a second part of this I'll get to in a minute.

Speaker: But the first part is make it a partnership.

Speaker: Make it working together with this person that you're doing a reading for.

Speaker: to figure it out, to figure it out together.

Speaker: Because they're coming in, they have a lot of, they're basically the key to the reading.

Speaker: They have the connections, they have the information, they have the responses, they have the answers, they know what they're looking for.

Speaker: And you have the connection to whatever's on the other side, the medium between you and this other person on the other side, and the person you're reading for.

Speaker: So when you're engaging in, okay, this is what I've got coming in, being as neutral as possible.

Speaker: What does that mean to you?

Speaker: Does that make any sense for you?

Speaker: Does anything come up around that?

Speaker: You're engaging.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: You're engaging their connection, which strengthens your connection and the connection to the other side.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: I can imagine too that I think of everything as a novice would think of it, right?

Speaker: So for me, I think of how nerve wracking it is to give somebody else a reading, right?

Speaker: When an experience happens to you, it happens, right?

Speaker: There's no pressure.

Speaker: When you're actually sitting down and reading for a person, which is

Speaker: sort of what this podcast is trying to get me and my audience eventually ready for, or at least closer to it than before we started having these conversations.

Speaker: I can think that just spitting out stuff and just talking and going on and being that single force throughout the whole reading without checking in and having that partnership

Speaker: And if you're getting positive responses, that would be encouraging as well, right?

Speaker: And I feel like you could, that helps a little bit with your confidence.

Speaker: And I think it's good for learning as well.

Speaker: If you take it in smaller steps like that, okay, I'm getting this.

Speaker: Check in.

Speaker: I'm getting that.

Speaker: Check in.

Speaker: It makes it a little bit more process driven, which my personality loves that.

Speaker: I love lists.

Speaker: I love processes.

Speaker: I love steps, step by step stuff.

Speaker: I know a lot of other people aren't like that, but I find it super helpful to be able to break it down like that.

Speaker: Yeah, and the other piece with that is we were talking about intention.

Speaker: Everybody, I'd say the majority of people, not everybody, because you can't just blanket everybody, but I think the majority of people, like you mentioned, when they get into this, they really do want to help.

Speaker: And it's coming from a good place.

Speaker: You've got a good heart.

Speaker: You really want to help people.

Speaker: But sometimes we overextend.

Speaker: And that's the codependency of readings.

Speaker: The codependency of intuition is you try so hard

Speaker: Because underneath that, you want to feel valuable.

Speaker: You want to feel like you are helping.

Speaker: You want to feel like you are providing help in the world.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: But that codependence ends up putting the burden on you and creating more stress and more pressure and more anxiety to do a good reading, to provide a good service for somebody.

Speaker: And you don't need that pressure.

Speaker: It makes it harder to connect when you're pressured.

Speaker: When you're out of that neutral state, your higher brain functions, you get into this fight or flight state and your higher brain functions shut off.

Speaker: So does your connection, right?

Speaker: So the more clear you can be.

Speaker: The more clear you can be, the easier it is to maintain that connection.

Speaker: The more that pressure you put on yourself, the easier it is to get out of that connection.

Speaker: What we call sitting in the power.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: That's pure straight wisdom that you just spit right there.

Speaker: Because, you know, when you hear it, you say, well, duh, of course, that makes sense.

Speaker: But

Speaker: never thought about it.

Speaker: You've never looked into it deeper, but yes, there is that need for the person who is doing the reading and who has this talent to do well, to provide that service, right?

Speaker: Because we want to do that because it's also valuable to us.

Speaker: When you do something good for somebody else, you're doing something good for yourself too.

Speaker: And I think that that sort of pressure kind of turns a lot of people off from wanting to do this at all.

Speaker: I have a specific friend in mind that I'm thinking about who is very talented, but she's terrified.

Speaker: She's terrified to share this gift with the world.

Speaker: And I think it really is just the pressure aspect or feeling like they're not going to be good enough or they're not going to be able to help people correctly.

Speaker: What would you tell somebody who feels that way?

Speaker: So the pressure that you're talking about and the holding back and withholding and kind of holding it in, there's two parts to that.

Speaker: There's first, they don't feel like they're going to do enough, be enough, you know, whatever, do good enough, or they can't maintain the connection or whatever.

Speaker: The second one, and this one really is massively important, is they don't feel like they know enough because it's an unknown.

Speaker: I don't know if I'm going to give a good reading.

Speaker: I don't know if I'm going to

Speaker: Be able to maintain the connection.

Speaker: You're not going to know.

Speaker: And the mind has this part where it freaks out with anything that it doesn't know.

Speaker: It causes pain or associates pain with anything that is unknown.

Speaker: That's why we have our safe zone, right?

Speaker: When we break through that,

Speaker: We can get into the growth zone, which is learning how to expand and how to learn it or take everything as an opportunity and experience to learn.

Speaker: And when you've got somebody who just doesn't know, there's that barrier they do have to get through.

Speaker: You get through it by practicing.

Speaker: Get through it by doing.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: The more you practice and the more you do something, the more confidence you start to build because you realize that

Speaker: Oh, I'm better than I thought I was just by getting into it, just by starting.

Speaker: Would you say that mediumship and the practice of it and learning it, it's experiential?

Speaker: Absolutely.

Speaker: Absolutely.

Speaker: There's two parts.

Speaker: There's the experience part, and then there's the training and education part.

Speaker: You have to have both.

Speaker: And then the emotional part, which is kind of a combination in there.

Speaker: But you have to have both of those if you're going to be good at any craft, whatever that craft is, at anything in the world.

Speaker: You've got to educate yourself around the thing so that when your subconscious is pulling from information, it has more data.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: The more education you have under your belt, the more data that you can pull from.

Speaker: So the more your subconscious mind can bring those things to the surface, can use those tools and those gifts as you develop.

Speaker: And the practice part is boots on the ground, having a conversation with somebody.

Speaker: And the second part of the other part of that, third part, fifth part, whatever, the fifth element that we're going to, let's just call it the fifth element.

Speaker: The fifth element there is the treating it like you're having a conversation with a friend.

Speaker: You're just talking.

Speaker: And as you're just engaging this natural conversation, the information is going to come in.

Speaker: You don't have to, oh, I'm getting something from the fourth dimension of the 12th sun ray of whatever.

Speaker: You don't have to put all that pomp and circumstance around it.

Speaker: Just be a normal person, having a human conversation with somebody else.

Speaker: The difference is you just happen to have gifts that are beyond this world, if you want to look at it like that.

Speaker: But everybody has this ability.

Speaker: Everybody has the ability to be intuitive.

Speaker: Right?

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: Even to tap into spirits, whether or not you're aware of it, whether or not you choose to practice it, you all have the ability.

Speaker: We all have the ability.

Speaker: Very true.

Speaker: Very true.

Speaker: I think that some of us are just, I think, more, more called to it.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: Or, or it's, it's something that, that we want to do for our own, like intrinsic reasons and purposes.

Speaker: We're predisposed to it.

Speaker: Right, exactly.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: We're predisposed, right.

Speaker: Right, exactly.

Speaker: I think it's a little bit nature and nurture there, right?

Speaker: Let me bring something up on nature and nurture.

Speaker: A lot of times intuitive gifts tend to be sparked...

Speaker: and flamed by difficult circumstances when we grow up.

Speaker: And here's why.

Speaker: When we are growing up and we have traumas or we have big events that happen to us, it puts our mind in a state of overdrive trying to protect ourselves.

Speaker: What that does is that heightens our senses.

Speaker: It puts our senses on overdrive so that we become more aware of the emotional temperature of the room.

Speaker: or what's going to happen, the cycles of, like for me, for example, I grew up in a very traumatic household.

Speaker: Mom's a heroin addict, all those things.

Speaker: And I had to pay attention to the cycles of what I was going to come home to every day after school.

Speaker: So I had to pay attention to the emotional environment of what was going to happen.

Speaker: You need to be more empathic, right?

Speaker: Exactly, more empathic.

Speaker: The same thing with paying attention to the visuals or paying attention to the audio of the environment.

Speaker: Your animal brain is on hyperdrive.

Speaker: And what happens is as you resolve the emotional components underneath the traumas and the unresolved emotions, the skill set remains.

Speaker: That's so interesting.

Speaker: So the skill set of intuition remains while you work on the emotional stuff underneath it.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: So it's kind of like, I would say it sounds like a double edged sword, right?

Speaker: It brings out this in you, right?

Speaker: And it makes you this finer tuned instrument.

Speaker: But at the same time, there's layers that you have to peel away when you get older.

Speaker: to be really effective at it.

Speaker: So it's kind of, it gives you a talent, but also homework.

Speaker: I think the fine-tuned part of that comes from the emotional work underneath it.

Speaker: Until then, you're a raw instrument.

Speaker: You're just on hyperdrive.

Speaker: You're highly sensitive.

Speaker: And that's why people get overwhelmed a lot.

Speaker: Or they're too sensitive.

Speaker: They're like, oh, this is a curse.

Speaker: It's hurting me.

Speaker: It's not something I can deal with.

Speaker: I just want it to go away.

Speaker: That comes from the pain of not having the tools to fine tune the instrument.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: So that it becomes a gift.

Speaker: That makes perfect sense.

Speaker: Somebody once told me, and I want to know if you agree with this, sometimes if you haven't had certain experiences or if you haven't really been exposed to certain situations or emotions, that you might not be able to pick up on some

Speaker: some spirits or some things that are happening.

Speaker: I can't remember where I read this.

Speaker: I think it was in a magazine that if you have two mediums that are both very talented and they go into a house that is, you know, that there are spirits in, that if you've had more experience

Speaker: experience emotionally or with life experience that you might be able to pick up on some things that maybe the other younger medium might not.

Speaker: Do you agree with that?

Speaker: That's a great perspective.

Speaker: And I think I want to give more context to that.

Speaker: I believe, and I've seen this in several different

Speaker: different articles and different places around the world.

Speaker: If you've got 10 different mediums, right?

Speaker: And you've got somebody who is predisposed to

Speaker: violent situations when they were younger and you've got a spirit that has a similar story.

Speaker: They're going to resonate with that particular medium more than the others.

Speaker: It does not mean that the other mediums cannot pick up on the situation or cannot pick up on the message or the energy of whatever it is that's going on.

Speaker: It's just that this one resonates the most.

Speaker: So it's the easiest to communicate with.

Speaker: So you do...

Speaker: Does that mean that spirits kind of take the path of least resistance?

Speaker: Anything in life takes the path.

Speaker: Energy takes the path of least resistance.

Speaker: So yes, absolutely.

Speaker: So you've got somebody who's like, a great example of this is my wife, Heather, and I, we've done readings since 2004 together.

Speaker: And there are certain things that I will pick up and she won't.

Speaker: There are certain things that she will pick up and I won't.

Speaker: It does not mean that either of us are broken.

Speaker: It's just that is the fastest path of delivery.

Speaker: Sure.

Speaker: So you make like a dynamic duo when you're kind of in the field together then.

Speaker: Absolutely.

Speaker: And when you have more mediums together, you're going to get that.

Speaker: So if you've got 10 mediums in a house, you know, doing a reading in a house or going through a house or whatever, you're going to have so much more information and all of those mediums are going to be playing off each other and kind of transforming and amplifying each other.

Speaker: Interesting, interesting.

Speaker: So you kind of create like a little power grid with actual mediums.

Speaker: Wow, that is really cool.

Speaker: I would love to see that one.

Speaker: I can imagine it's pretty much- That's why circles are so powerful.

Speaker: Mediumship circles or intuitive circles or Reiki circles or any kind of energy type circle is more powerful because the more people that you have together, the more amplified the energy itself is, which is also why big events are powerful.

Speaker: So we're talking about Tony Robbins, for example, huge events like that, that cause massive transformation because everybody is there for a particular purpose and everybody gets amplified, which makes that purpose so much bigger.

Speaker: The challenge with that is taking that energy and finding it and discovering it and maintaining it in your normal life.

Speaker: It's a lot harder when you don't have that battery.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: Interesting.

Speaker: So would you say then, just in that same vein, if you are learning and you're a novice,

Speaker: Do you feel that it's important or it is valuable to get into like a group or like classes and really get that connection?

Speaker: I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm very lucky.

Speaker: I live near Casadeca, about an hour away.

Speaker: And in the United States, there are big swaths of the country, though, where people don't have access to mediumship circles or

Speaker: mentors or workshops and all of this other stuff.

Speaker: There's things online, but face-to-face stuff you don't really get.

Speaker: Would you say that it's important to do that learning in person?

Speaker: And if it is, what kind of advice would you give somebody who's out there sort of on an island by themselves?

Speaker: Because I know that some of my listeners, that's definitely what they're facing.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, that's a big challenge.

Speaker: And it's a big thing that all of us are looking for is some type of community like-minded where we can connect and kind of feed off each other like the battery, like I was talking about.

Speaker: The fantastic thing, especially about energy work,

Speaker: is that you do not have to physically be president to, or president?

Speaker: You don't have to physically be present to benefit from that battery.

Speaker: Because when you, and we've seen this in Zenit Academy, we've got people from all over the world.

Speaker: And when they come together in an event, it's absolutely magical.

Speaker: And the same thing with people.

Speaker: We've got people in the Midwest or people that are on their own little island that don't have that connection.

Speaker: There is a different connection when you're in person than when you're online.

Speaker: But just because you don't have the physical connection does not mean that you're missing the connection itself.

Speaker: So the transformation, the battery, getting people together, especially like-minded, amplifies what you already have.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: When you think about it, connections are all in our mind anyway.

Speaker: Human connections are all in our mind anyway.

Speaker: Even if you're giving somebody a hug, it's not the physical sensation of the hug.

Speaker: It's that mental letting go, the mental receiving that really gives you that feeling.

Speaker: Yes, there is something to physical contact, but it doesn't have to be the limiting factor that a lot of people think it is.

Speaker: Interesting.

Speaker: I think that we are living in such an amazing time, especially I think for mediums, right?

Speaker: And mediumship or psychic abilities, mysticism, anything that you're, that, you know, we touch on because we have this tool where we can connect with people all across the world.

Speaker: Like if, if I didn't have that, I wouldn't have met you.

Speaker: I wouldn't have been able to interview or talk to anybody really on my show.

Speaker: So I think that, yeah,

Speaker: We are living in a time where so much more is possible than what used to be.

Speaker: And I think that it's interesting because my family is actually pretty religious.

Speaker: So they're not 100% into all of this, which is fine.

Speaker: But my father specifically said, he's like, you know, it's so weird to me that now that this stuff is trendy, there's so many more mediums and so many more psychics.

Speaker: And to me, I'm thinking, no, it's not weird at all because so many people have access to

Speaker: to teachings and to be able to unlock this within themselves.

Speaker: Because like you said, everybody has this power.

Speaker: A lot of us just haven't had that outlet or those mentors or the path to walk to really define it.

Speaker: And so that's what I think is really happening is that we have all of these new avenues for learning, all of these new connections that we can make outside of our little hometowns.

Speaker: And that's why there's more people who are mediums and who have psychic abilities and who can do this kind of work.

Speaker: It's pretty awesome.

Speaker: I don't think that the people have changed.

Speaker: I think the access to connection and information has changed, which gives people, like you said, on their own little island, an avenue to explore what they already have inside.

Speaker: Because everybody else before that, when there wasn't internet, when there wasn't this ability to connect to people across the world, they still had the stuff going on, but they were in their own little self-contained freakout zone.

Speaker: They didn't have a way to articulate it or understand it.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: Not articulate, understand, learn, educate, figure out that they're not freaking crazy and they're just human.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: And then develop that because there are things.

Speaker: Before this, we had to go to the library.

Speaker: I don't know if anybody remembers libraries.

Speaker: I think I have a very vague, distant memory in elementary school about that.

Speaker: I don't remember how to use it, but I know it was a thing.

Speaker: Right, right.

Speaker: That's crazy.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: You know, one of the things that I really liked about what you've set up is that you also have a community.

Speaker: So it's not just the courses.

Speaker: You have an online social community where if something happens or you have a question or whatever, you don't have to wait for an episode of a podcast to come out to explain it to you.

Speaker: You could just go straight to the Facebook page or wherever and ask the question and you get 10 people that would answer you that all had 10 different perspectives and experiences to give you this really well-rounded, thought out answer to your question.

Speaker: And it's just incredible to me.

Speaker: And I think that it's really great to see because when I first started looking into this stuff, and I think it's because mediumship

Speaker: is such an individual and personalized journey that I would just find little bits of information here, little bits of information there.

Speaker: And sometimes that information wouldn't conflict.

Speaker: And I just didn't see like a solid starting point and where the goals would be and how would you know you're doing well, you know, if you don't have...

Speaker: you know, a way to gauge that.

Speaker: So that's why I started this podcast, to give a little bit more structure and to answer some of these burning questions.

Speaker: And that's why I really wanted you on the show, because you're doing that.

Speaker: And I think that

Speaker: it's really important because if you can't attend a bunch of workshops or go to one of the universities in the UK, then what do you do?

Speaker: So can you tell me a little bit about how and why you sort of started the Zenet Academy or even how you came to realize like this was your calling just in general?

Speaker: Because I love to ask people that question because I think that it tells a lot about a person.

Speaker: So for me, the development of Xanad Academy and kind of the evolution of what it's become now is realizing the human desire for connection, the human desire for community, for safety, to feel safe exploring these kinds of things, especially when we're talking about the emotional components, because that is a very personal journey.

Speaker: And if you don't feel safe,

Speaker: you're not going to go deeper.

Speaker: The safer that you feel, the deeper you go.

Speaker: And one of the best ways to feel safe is to find a like-minded community where the more that you open up, the more you're supported.

Speaker: And that's one of the things that we've crafted and honed and continue to maintain is the safety of that community.

Speaker: When we first started, we've had people come in that got weird, that got like,

Speaker: For example, we had somebody who was basically recruiting for a cult in our community when we first started.

Speaker: And we went in, we were like, no, we protect our people.

Speaker: This is not a safe environment if this continues to happen.

Speaker: I think that is so important.

Speaker: There's so many issues that you can run into if you're out there trying to learn on your own.

Speaker: And that is one of them for sure.

Speaker: Yes, and the byproduct of that is that you can, in some communities, have more predator type people that are coming to feed on these people that are opening up and being vulnerable.

Speaker: So we do not stand for that.

Speaker: I will step in personally and I will handle any kind of a situation like that because the value to me of the safety of that community is way more important than anything else.

Speaker: the evolution of people.

Speaker: I think it's also protecting the reputation of mediumship and mysticism in general, right?

Speaker: Because that's why some people get this bad idea of what we do.

Speaker: And then it must come from an evil place if they're religious or things like that.

Speaker: It's because some of those things have gone unchecked.

Speaker: So I think that it's incredibly important work for you to go in and do that.

Speaker: And I think that it fosters something awesome.

Speaker: Absolutely.

Speaker: And we see that in the community.

Speaker: I mean, you've seen it just being in there and the level of acceptance and the level of support and the level of just coming together and bonding.

Speaker: That's magic right there.

Speaker: So did this come out of a need for you to connect as well?

Speaker: Is that sort of where the idea came from?

Speaker: Like what kind of do you have like a mediumship community around you or where do you find yourself?

Speaker: I created this because I didn't have that.

Speaker: So that's another one of the reasons that I created this was because I didn't have anybody that I could like connect with on this level and communicate with and kind of bond around this.

Speaker: But for me, it was more about helping other people to understand and find peace while building and trusting their intuition.

Speaker: Because if you don't have those two together, so when I was younger, I had all kinds of different experiences that would happen.

Speaker: I lost my brother when I was like 20, 21.

Speaker: And it was really, it took me like 10 years to really kind of process through that.

Speaker: And that was one of the things that kind of opened up even more mediumship and communication with the other side because I wanted to connect and build a relationship with him where he is now.

Speaker: And in order for me to do that, I had to learn the skills.

Speaker: So in the beginning, there was a lot of fumbling around.

Speaker: There wasn't communities around that I could connect with or talk to.

Speaker: It was a bunch of going to the library and figuring it out.

Speaker: And eventually, I figured it out.

Speaker: Not only did it help me to grieve and process his passing,

Speaker: but it also helped me to connect with him and to help other people connect with their loved ones.

Speaker: And that's what mediumship kind of is to me a lot, is helping people to process and to find peace, to find acceptance, to find realization that, okay, my person on the other side is okay.

Speaker: I can feel good.

Speaker: It's that dark thought.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: It's those dark thoughts that I think some people have or question like,

Speaker: When you die, is it over?

Speaker: Is this loved one that I cared about so much and shared all these experiences with, are they really just like zapped out?

Speaker: Are they really just gone?

Speaker: Is their consciousness there or not?

Speaker: And I think that it is such a gift to be able to give people the knowledge that their consciousness continues on.

Speaker: And that I feel like that kind of softens the blow, right?

Speaker: I feel like it's mediumship is a very human activity, I feel like, because I feel like

Speaker: We're speaking to those on the other side.

Speaker: They're human.

Speaker: They were human.

Speaker: They are human.

Speaker: We're all energy.

Speaker: So I think it's super important.

Speaker: I think that you're fostering a wonderful community.

Speaker: I did before we sign off, I wanted to touch on a new thing that you're doing.

Speaker: You have a new program that's out.

Speaker: Can you give us a little bit of information about that?

Speaker: Because one of the biggest things that I like to do on this show is

Speaker: is give my audience and my listeners more resources, right?

Speaker: We can cover whatever in 45 minutes, but I want people to be able to walk away from an episode and then dive deeper into what we talked about and really give them those resources.

Speaker: So I'll ask you about your program and then a little bit about, do you have any books or anything that you recommend or any other really great resources that you recommend?

Speaker: So the program that I've just kind of like put the finishing touches on or, or, um,

Speaker: It's technically launching a little bit later, but probably by the time this podcast is out, it'll be launched, is the self-love challenge.

Speaker: We have a seven-day self-love challenge that we've created that gives people an opportunity.

Speaker: It's absolutely free to come in and to experience that emotional stuff that we've been talking about, to get really deep, to dive really deep into the

Speaker: Self-love and learning how to love yourself.

Speaker: Because when you do that, your intuition opens.

Speaker: Your confidence opens.

Speaker: You become stronger and stronger in your ability to trust yourself because you love yourself.

Speaker: So the self-love challenge is a seven-day process.

Speaker: It's an automated process because this is a course that we did.

Speaker: This is a challenge that we did live.

Speaker: And it's one of the best challenges that we did.

Speaker: We took the best version of it and turned it into an automated process.

Speaker: So every single week it starts over.

Speaker: So if you miss a week or you don't get enough out of the week, you start it over.

Speaker: And then every day you have action steps, you have meditations, you have videos, you have homework.

Speaker: You post it up in the group.

Speaker: You connect with real people, real friends, and build that connection all for free, seven-day process.

Speaker: You go through that.

Speaker: If you feel like you are ready to evolve into Zenit Academy, by all means, come and join us there.

Speaker: But there's no stress and there's no pressure.

Speaker: You get to go through the challenge again or level up when you're ready.

Speaker: Awesome.

Speaker: Perfect.

Speaker: That's a, I think that's a great starting point, right?

Speaker: That's if somebody is listening to this, this episode and they say, okay, where do I start?

Speaker: You know, my emotional optimization or how do I, how do I dive into this?

Speaker: That's a perfect starting point.

Speaker: Everything that we talked about, the Zen Ed Academy.

Speaker: your seven day challenge, all of that, wherever you're watching this, YouTube, if you're watching this on Apple podcasts, wherever in the description, I'll have all of that linked.

Speaker: So you can see where David is.

Speaker: You can meet him where he is.

Speaker: But real quick, before we go, any books or other resources that were immensely helpful to you in your journey, creating like the Zenet Academy and things like that?

Speaker: A book that comes to the top of my mind is How God Changes the Brain.

Speaker: I know it's a weird kind of a book.

Speaker: It's written by a neuroscientist who studies, and it's not a religious type book.

Speaker: I want to put that there.

Speaker: Andrew Newberg

Speaker: is a neuroscientist and he created this book around the concept of religion or whatever and how that literally changes your brain, your belief system and how that changes your brain.

Speaker: Within there, there are a lot of techniques that will help you to develop your brain, to grow more of your brain, which in turn helps you with your intuition.

Speaker: So that's probably about the one that pops up.

Speaker: pops in my head.

Speaker: Absolutely.

Speaker: Well, I'm definitely going to read that.

Speaker: And like I said, I'm already part of the Zenit Academy.

Speaker: I'll do the challenge.

Speaker: So I have my marching orders.

Speaker: I think that the audience does as well.

Speaker: This has been an awesome, insightful conversation.

Speaker: Really appreciate your insight and your wisdom on this.

Speaker: I was super excited to have you on because I think this is such an important piece to this puzzle and to this journey.

Speaker: So thank you for doing the work that you do.

Speaker: Awesome.

Speaker: It has been a pleasure.

Speaker: I have been, I love hanging out with you first off.

Speaker: Second off, really kind of sharing, sharing all of this with your people is fantastic and amazing.

Speaker: And I, I just love helping people.

Speaker: It's kind of in my DNA.

Speaker: I think, yeah, same here.

Speaker: I think that's what we're here for.

Speaker: So hopefully, you know, we can create communities inside communities and continue the work.

Speaker: There it is.

Speaker: That's

Speaker: Thank you for joining us today on The Psychic Apprentice.

Speaker: This is my guest, David Caron, and we will talk to you next time.
