Speaker: Hello everyone and welcome to a pathway time. My name is Dakota your PM your DM your GM and sitting to my left is somebody who is on the edge of her seat Me, Evelyn.
Speaker: And I've got someone with me who's chowing down on... An avocado donut. Ew. Yeah, definitely. i Love donuts.
Speaker: I absolutely love avocado. I've totally tasted one at some point in my life. All right. Yeah. I do not recommend the combination of avocado and donut.
Speaker: But yeah. If that's something you want, sure I'm Eli. And sitting across from me is someone who currently doesn't exist because Jake couldn't be here for this one. No, but don't worry. We're still doing it. We're not. doing a we're still doing a mainline episode we're not doing another special episode So, Jake is not here with us today. He has unfortunately died.
Speaker: Um, FN chats, yada yada. But, no, I... I don't actually remember why he's not here, but he he was busy doing a supplement. So he's ah going to be joining with us joining us with on this episode. So he is going to be...
Speaker: ah He's going to be there, but he is going to miss the events of this episode. Just so we can keep this story... um I say keep the story rolling, this is gonna be a filler episode anyway.
Speaker: Uh... This will be more of a story episode than the past two episodes have been. Well, there was some, like, explanation stuff, with some lore going on in the last episodes, at least. This one, you guys are technically progressing. This is a travel episode.
Speaker: Sure. we'll We'll call it a travel episode. Sinly disguised tribal episode. Definitely not a filler episode. Oh. So. ah With that being said, let us go ahead and roll for recap.
Speaker: I'm very much aware that I have a 50 % There's a higher chance of actually doing it this time.
Speaker: Oh. I got a four. I also got a four. I also got a four. Wait, what? What? This was supposed to be, like... see You guys have to match with me. The chance of us getting us it all out the same is ridiculously low. I think... This has only happened one other time in the show where three people have rolled.
Speaker: The same number. That's crazy, okay, um How do we want to proceed? Do we just want to do a reroll? or The last time we had something similar to this happen, we just... We've had two people match with you before and we just shared the recap.
Speaker: I mean... But if Evelyn doesn't know what happened, I can just do the recap. If you're willing to volunteer... I think we should give it to Eli. I am perfectly fine with that because we were talking about before the show. I don't remember what happened.
Speaker: Yeah. The last time we were still in... The, uh, bass. We were talking with May or may not.
Speaker: And I... We were trying to convince him to... Come along with us! Could not convince him to come along with us without asking questions.
Speaker: and so we basically just gave him the rundown of What all is going on with the world? what the deal with the orbs is. What the deal with, ah oh, hey, my mother is currently kidnapped.
Speaker: And run down on silver. And... We gave him... And... We got Alfred to get him.
Speaker: a spare Game Boy so that he could call some of the other officials. Back in...
Speaker: What city? New Shimmer City. New Shimmer City. Bye. found out hey something a bit screwy is going on back there with the other officials and uh Got in a video call. and thought, oh hey!
Speaker: There's a Malamar lurking in the background there. Probably some mind control shenanigans going on back in New Shimmer. Bye.
Speaker: We'll have to deal with that later, I guess. And we made our plan. to go. to... Um...
Speaker: the dark dark place. um Watch. What port? ah You guys are... first traveling to Mist City.
Speaker: Oh, that's right. We're going down to Mist City. to in Um... Is it in, Alfie? where is it I don't have the map pulled up. yeah it's in this it's in the I'm pretty sure it's in the Ventus region because it's in the same region you guys are in.
Speaker: Okay, so yeah, it's Inventus taking a boat over to... Um... Why can't I think of the dark state? Oh my god. Oh, sweet. Tenebrous. That's it. Tenebrous port.
Speaker: Tenebrous City or Tenebrous Bay. Tenebra City Bay, I think is what we called it. Tenebra City, and I think, let me check the map there, but like... I'm sure there's also a Tenebrous Bay. Bay.
Speaker: and that way we can take a bigger boat that has some icebreaker capabilities to go go down to an island that has the Shivertree City.
Speaker: because may or may not knows where Shivertree City is.
Speaker: And then we headed out to the train station. Yep. Uh... So with that, I believe... I believe that's everything.
Speaker: Aye. Aye. The last two episodes kind of blurred together because they were kind of the same thing. So I'm unclear of what was the two episodes ago and what was the last episode because you guys basically did the exact same thing. Two episodes ago was us trying to get information from Mayor Maynard. without revealing everything else.
Speaker: Last episode was... Okay, he's asking too many questions and withholding too many answers. We gotta just tell him what's up. Okay, gotcha.
Speaker: He did also ask us why we hadn't tried to use the blue orb yet. And we had to explain to him how Silver used the... Whack orb.
Speaker: and kind of merged with it and went insane, so... Or a little, uh... hesitant to try anything with Blue orb. Until we...
Speaker: worry about it. The blue orb is still being held in the basement, right? Neither one of you guys have it? Yep. Still in the case, locked up nicely.
Speaker: What happened to the fake orb? It got broken. I did it? I... it it okay I'm pretty sure it got dropped and shattered and that's how we found out it was the fake orb.
Speaker: Okay. Yeah, as I said, I remember something about something breaking. I was like, no, there's no way that you guys broke the blue orb. I would never allow that. Yeah. No, it was the fake blue orb that got broken and that was how we found out, oh hey, and we were carrying around the fake one this whole time. oh Yeah, the real orb has plot armor.
Speaker: I mean it technically does. Okay. the The real orb is probably just made of... A legendary substance that is not just going to shatter.
Speaker: Easily. It's held together with legendary materials. i don't know that'd be kind of cool to ah come up with some lore about the actual orb itself other than it just being an orb It's made of...
Speaker: Legendary... Gluons. Yep. Luans and Quarks and all sorts. off. Yeah. and oh so Just like everything else.
Speaker: Okay. ah Since Jake's not here, who wants to give me a random move? Oh. See if I can do it.
Speaker: Oh, are we doing it properly this time? I am doing it properly. Ooh, I don't think we've done that since... Not doing it the way that I...
Speaker: I'm doing it the way that... Sean used to do it. Yeah, randommovegenerator .com. yeah
Speaker: Whoa.
Speaker: Okay. Oh. Prismatic laser. Oh, who's that from? That sounds like a legendary signature move. That's a Necrozma. Oh, that's the cosmos. Oh, okay.
Speaker: Oh wait, what did you say it was called again? prismatic laser Timmy? get that before? i could have sworn we got with some one of them from necrozma before Necrozma's got a couple of them.
Speaker: I think we had Light that Burns the Sky before. Maybe... Uh... All right, let us... um Something something laser. God. prismatic laser because you know he's a prism That's why he refracts light. Prismatic laser. Okay.
Speaker: I genuinely forgot again. Alright, let us prismatic laser on in. Um... Okay. So... Uh, you Uh... to technically so Sorry. Are there.
Speaker: um Jeremy is still back at the base trying to find Veronica. um He is not with you, but he will be taking the next train. Okay.
Speaker: There's a reason for that I would have put into roleplay, but Jake's not here, so I'm going to explain that later when he's actually here. I'm just off putting that explanation until he can actually hear it. For reasons you guys will see later. No. That's, you you explained it, that was the other thing from last episode.
Speaker: What's up? Bye. That's right, we discussed having... Um... Because Jake had to leave early last episode, and so we had... So we discussed having Veronica and...
Speaker: The Lycanroc come along with us as... Jeremy, yeah. Jeremy as Extra Health. And we weren't going to tell Jake. Yeah. And he doesn't know and he won't know until then they take the next train. They will not be joining you this time for.
Speaker: Yeah, I've won. Jake to be there for that. so Yeah. Okay. um So, you three um Jake is not going to or Walter's not going to say anything for...
Speaker: until you guys get it on the train you guys walk up to the You guys can walk up to the train station you guys buy your tickets and as you guys enter the uh Just subtract like 30 poke each.
Speaker: I can't remember if we did that last time or not. I don't remember. It's such an insignificant amount it doesn't even matter. Um...
Speaker: I don't want to get on a tangent, but how many days has it been since - Uh... I don't know, Breeze Cap - Tured or missing or whatever, so I don't actually know how much money she has i might for down a long time I think.
Speaker: I'll have to go back and calculate how much money she gathered, because you guys don't actually have an income, do you? Hmm. Not exactly, no. Okay, I'll go back and see how much that she gathered I think it was 2 ,000, but I'm not entirely sure I'll have to go back and look I know I had it written down back in the 3 series.
Speaker: of character sheets so I might not have it anymore. Yeah, let's see what Brie... Thanks. That had to have been at least a week ago that Bree disappeared.
Speaker: it was something like that i don't know i again i had it written down somewhere i'll see if i can find it Okay, so... ah You guys, once again, find yourselves in the Gale Beach train station.
Speaker: As you look above you, there's a big dome of water. Uh... because the train station is under the water. i don't remember how long it's been i guess i've been on in this train station so You see like a bunch of fish Pokemon and stuff swimming in the water above you. You see some like seagrass and stuff. It's very pretty.
Speaker: And... Once again, you hear the familiar sound of the pierogi stand and pierogi's two electric boogaloo off in the distance on the other side of the tracks You guys have about five minutes to kill before your guys' train shows up. You guys can choose to either pass that time or go explore.
Speaker: um Well, how are my pierogies that are in my bag still from last time we were here looking? Wait. I still can't. I have four pierogies in my secondary pocket of my bag.
Speaker: oh my goodness you just reminded me didn't you guys like do something with like drugs or something last time Oh. we wouldn might have.
Speaker: Wait, what was the deal with that? Didn't... Uh...
Speaker: I could've sworn Walter had, like, drugs or something he put into the pierogi. Yeah, I think... Oh, what was it? Oh, what was that? I think we got something from the Smeargle. I thought it was Zusa. The gang of teenagers that was down here. Was it?
Speaker: Was it, Sousa? What? Smeargle. but Wasn't it Smeargle? That was Brusher. You mean Brusher? Yeah. That's the little brusher?
Speaker: I don't remember. I'll have to go back and listen to that because you just just sparked like a member's like, wait a minute. I remember something about pierogies and like a lethal amount of cocaine. or something I have no idea where that came from, but... I don't either. I don't think it was lethal either.
Speaker: it was okay He did. He did some... He put something into his... Because I gave... Walter is some of the perv. pierogies to put into his bag.
Speaker: And he put something in them. to try to... Aye. like I don't know if it was to spoil them faster or just...
Speaker: Have them. Spoil - Be a little extra something if he tries to force feed them to someone. Oh, was this around the time where you were trying to use your grimy food to like poison people?
Speaker: No, this was when I was trying to replenish my stock of dry me food after you took it away from me. Okay, so I will be very cautious about the pierogies in your bag because since you reminded me, I'm going to try and go back and see if I can figure out what was up with them and then I will update you on that situation.
Speaker: Okay. Ugh. All right. I would like to go over and attempt to buy two more pierogies. Okay. Ah, it's a beware. Yeah, pretty sure it's a beware.
Speaker: So, as you go up to, I'm assuming you're going up to... uh pierogi is two electric group of but yeah Of course. So, don't beware, Lexi's like, hey!
Speaker: You're back! I recognized you! Would you like two? Two pierogies! I would like two pierogies. And what do you have to offer? Uh, I pull out two twigs that I picked up off the ground on the way to the train station. Oh, splendid! Two twigs, two s - Dicks. Wonderful pair of sticks. Here you go, my kind sir. Two more pierogies.
Speaker: Thank you. Thank you very much. I am putting... how many Bruce, how many of the pierogies did you already have? Just Ford. Just four. So I am putting them in a different... What?
Speaker: Do you want to try trading them in? Are they still fresh? and No, I don't want new ones Okay. I don't know the status of those pierogies, it would be really funny if you just gave them like cocaine pierogies.
Speaker: they They are not the cocaine pierogies. I know for a fact that Walter has the drugged pierogies. Oh, okay, okay. My pierogies are just normal pierogies sitting in my bag. I do have the new pierogies.
Speaker: Bye. I am putting a note theyre They're on a different line of my bag. I am putting a Received on Bye.
Speaker: Way too mist city. Is it you? oh are you like actually writing that in your character sheet oh yeah no thats This way we can keep track of, I believe... e the The four pierogies that I have were when we were getting on the train to New Shimmer City.
Speaker: Shivers. Okay, I will keep that in mind. Wow, was that really that long ago? I mean I don't think it was as long ago as you think. It's just that It's been a while because time hasn't exactly been passing very much the past few episodes. Well, also, Arc 4 has been very rocky for scheduling, so... Yes, it's yeah. that There's been a lot of real world time and not a lot of in -game time.
Speaker: Yeah. Okay. Uh... So the beware it looks at you and he looks at, er sorry, he looks at Evelyn. He's like, would you like anything for two, two of anything?
Speaker: Any pierogies? Two pierogies. I can only give it them in twos.
Speaker: Let me see. I'll uh...
Speaker: What what kind of pierogies do you got? I got... pairs of pierogies they're nice and warm and potatoey and cheesy So just plain potato and cheese pierogies?
Speaker: As they should be! Those are the best kind. I agree. Um... Alright, I'll... I'll bite. Um...
Speaker: How about I'll give you two of my pineapple...
Speaker: Two of my pineappberries? Should I give you a tip? Huh? Do you want two pineapple berries? They're my favorite kind of berry. TWO PINEAPPARIES THAT'S A PAIR I HAVEN'T HAD BEFORE and he takes them and you see he like puts it behind his stall And as you look, you can see like a bunch of different pairs of things. You see the pair of sticks that Eli has. You can see a lot of pairs of sticks.
Speaker: and you see like a bunch of like uh there's There should be a bunch of pairs of pebbles. yeah just' like a pair of timess all times we've just picked up some pebbles off of the uh Like...
Speaker: Uh... like the station. yeah here you see You see like pairs of socks. and But you were the first one to give him pineappberries.
Speaker: Hmm. He hands you two steaming fresh pierogies. Thank you. And please do come back again.
Speaker: Yeah. Hmm. these are really These are really good berries. you might wanna You might want to use them to make... really tasty pierogies sometime. No, I cannot. I collect pairs of things. I need two of everything. If I use them, I'd have to use them in twos. And then I wouldn't have my two anymore.
Speaker: They would be gone! They would be wasted! They're better when they're together as a pair Whoa. Let's see! Let's say you use them to make two pineapple pierogies.
Speaker: Or two pairs of pineapple pierogies. i don't know how I don't know how many berries... go into a single pierogi. I mean, you don't typically put fruit in pierogies, but I get what you're saying.
Speaker: It could be interesting. I've never tried it before. I shall make a pair of pineapple pierogies. And you see him, like, messing around with his, uh, like, oven or, uh, stovetop back there. And you see him grab the pineapple berries. Eventually, he brings out four new pierogies, which each have, like, pineapple tops on them.
Speaker: And he's like for you and he hands you two pineapple rookies and he takes two pineapple rookies for himself Ooh. This looks delicious. Thank you so much.
Speaker: Go ahead and rule perception as he is. I'm taking a bite of this pierogi. Okay.
Speaker: perception.
Speaker: 30 -20. It doesn't matter. i said Maybe Insight's better for this one, but it doesn't matter with the Dirty 20. They're both beauty roles. So he takes a bite of the pineapple pierogi and you can see he is clearly trying to hide the fact that he does not enjoy this.
Speaker: But he's trying to be polite and he's like, mmm, delicious. Yeah. Pineapples and pierogies, maybe I'll start selling these someday. Mmm.
Speaker: It just... I like how it burns in my mouth. Like battery acid. What? I guess you are a Pikachu. That makes a bit more sense. Oh, yeah. It's like battery acid.
Speaker: And with this, your guys just train worse into the station, and you feel like a rush of wind as the train rolls past. And comes to a stop and the doors open.
Speaker: Alright, there's your free, uh... There's your free product idea. Uh, we have to catch a train now. Bye! Alright, bye! And he waves you goodbye. And as you three enter...
Speaker: um Walter is going to take a seat and instantly fall asleep for the convenience of everything. so he's He's a poet.
Speaker: As you guys are taking the seats, um you so You hear a loud commotion in the train cart next to you. And you also notice a very big poster posted on the door of the train, the inside of the train. And I come up with a name for this. um
Speaker: or I got it. So... Uh... on the inside of the door of the train you see a poster and it's like big pink and it's got uh The words it says the annual train trials And it has a date on it, and that date is today.
Speaker: The annual train trials are occurring. The poster states that anyone may enter to show Feats of strength, creativity, and intelligence. The best may win a good prize.
Speaker: Creativity. That sounds that sounds right up my alley. Yeah. Bruce, what did I say to you? I think you should go for it. Okay.
Speaker: Um... Okay what else does it say on the poster?
Speaker: Uh, well Sorry, what was that? I was typing. Now what else does it say on the poster? It just says anyone can participate. It doesn't say anything about the prizes. Is it just on this particular train?
Speaker: Oh, pff. Sure, it has, did as you say, the details of miraculously show up. ah on every train or train car three of every train in the outcast region This event is happening. I don't know how to put that into product terms. that's what the terms say.
Speaker: Huh. That's curious. Okay. Which train are we on? Which car are we on right now? I'm gonna say you guys are in train car two because I said the commotion was going on the train car next year so I guess that makes sense.
Speaker: So that would be the one behind us then. Uh, sure. It's certainly next to you, one way or the other. Mmm. Mmm. Hmm. Alright.
Speaker: Watch me, uh... Walk between the train cars. Very dangerous! So are you the only one participating in this? ah if Unless Bruce and Walter want to come along.
Speaker: Walter is fast asleep and does not move. Bruce will come to watch. the At least. Okay. See you. Check it out. See what's going on.
Speaker: Oh, should one of us stay back and walk, Walt? Watch Walter. a Walter will be fine. Okay. To take this last words. He's got his self -defense TNT on him.
Speaker: Yeah. Right.
Speaker: Okay, ah so you guys ah enter the... train car three and What you see is you see an alakazam at the end and at the end of the car and he uh Actually, let's do three Pokemon. So this is Alakazam. Give me the name of, like, two... judge Pokemon. Someone you would see as like a judge for a contest.
Speaker: Um... One bearded Pokemon.
Speaker: Grandpa. Grandpa is the first one that comes to mind. You know, we already have a Trampa, though. aur drama I was thinking like Conkeldurr. Conch elder, I love it. Conch elder, yeah.
Speaker: And then... Well, where's Cash? Oh, Whiscash. Love it. That works. All right. ah So.
Speaker: At the end you see a Conkeldurr, an Alakazam, and a Whiscash and they are holding up scorecards as people are doing things. ah As you guys watch for watch for a little bit.
Speaker: um you see pokemon like displaying various moves you see people using flamethrower and the train car seems to be like specially protected for moves like it was made specifically for this event You see people like doing fancy kicks and jumping around and all sorts of stuff And after a little bit, the Alakazam puts up a scorecard of seven. for the Hitmonlee who is doing Low Sweep.
Speaker: ah The Wiscash shows an 8. And the Concalder shows a 7.
Speaker: After that, the Hitmonlee, or Hitmonchan I think I said, goes and stands off to the side. The Alakazam speaks up after a minute, and he says, Very well, that is the conclusion to this round. Any new participants for this next session?
Speaker: uh please make sure you sign up now and we will be starting again in five minutes And he gestures to a... far -fetched who is holding like a piece of paper.
Speaker: and a pen. and there is a small line starting to form next to the surface.
Speaker: Farfetch'd or Sirfetch'd? Sorry, I'm imagining a Farfetch'd. I keep getting them confused. It's a Farfetch'd. Yeah. So is it a Cantonian or? It's Cantonian. okay I want to imagine instead of a leek, it has a giant pen.
Speaker: okay got like a leak pen one of those like the big stick pencils Oh yeah yeah, it's like one of those huge pencils, like those gag gifts you would see in like middle school and stuff.
Speaker: Okay. Hikaru walks over. Okay. Are you the only one participating? I will warn you, this is this is the content for today. So Eli, if you do opt out. You probably won't be doing much today. yeah Just giving you a fair of warning.
Speaker: Yeah. Nice! You know, I'll probably do something different from the kind of thing Hikaru's going to cook up, but yeah, I'll... I'll go in. Probably for the like the the strength competition thing.
Speaker: Rather than...
Speaker: so As you guys are standing in line, you can see a... a set of rules on the score on the uh On the ball, as you're waiting there.
Speaker: Uh... And the rules pretty much state, uh... basically there will be three ah challenges you will be faced with and you will be judged for each of these challenges.
Speaker: score The highest scoring among all the challenges will receive a prize. Your scores will get added up as the challenges go on. Amen.
Speaker: eventually your guys's turn comes up and Evelyn you were first in line so the Farfetch'd looks at you and is like, what's your name? Hey Karu! Hatsumi.
Speaker: Hikaru Hatsume the Pikachu he writes you down all right And all right, I'll have you stand over there and he points to the opposite wall and wait for your name to be called Rules will be discussed shortly.
Speaker: Okay. And then next up is Bruce. Hello there! Name? Bruce. bruce Bruce the Cyndaquil?
Speaker: yeah Last names are not aren't required. Alright, that's good. So. I'll have you stand over there next to that Pikachu and we will get started shortly. A couple other are Pokemon filter through the line, and eventually everyone is standing. Yeah.
Speaker: uh you guys are standing up against the wall and beside you you guys see and you heard their names as since you guys were standing next to them say uh in line So you guys see an Abra whose name is Honey.
Speaker: you see uh, Porygon, whose name is Pixel. Uh, and I should be, uh... doing this sort of way. Honey the Abra was submitted by...
Speaker: Uh, The Walking Salmon. from our Discord server. So thank you to The Walking Salmon for submitting this. Uh... And... Pixel the Porygon was submitted by Evelyn. So thank you, Evelyn.
Speaker: And... Uh, and you also see a, you said Pomo, right? Evelyn? Eli? The melon evolution. Richie the Pomo, who is a randomly generated character from Eli's Computer. So thank you to Eli's Computer for generating...
Speaker: see Oh. you too much. pokemon random generator website Okay, so you guys are standing up against the wall and the alakazam steps forward and starts speaking Alright, so this is the Train Trials. It's a... for fun.
Speaker: uh, sting. There's not much at stake, but the winner does get. a thousand poke and this focus sash. Are ruckus sashes a thing in the Mr. Dodgen? I don't know. Doesn't matter.
Speaker: Well, it is now. Yeah. Let's see It might be in the newer game, maybe? I'm not sure Uh... So he holds up a focus sash.
Speaker: And he also holds up a pair of... a bottle of vitamins. I'm going to leave a vitamins ambiguous because i will assuming you guys win, I will let you pick what stat it is. and Then we'll determine how it works from there.
Speaker: Nice. Yeah, it does not look like focus sash is in. the mystery dungeon games, but... Well it is now. Yep. It's so easy to implement.
Speaker: The first challenge will be the challenge of strength. The second challenge. will be the challenge of creativity. And the third challenge will be the challenge of intelligence. So.
Speaker: To start us off, we will do the challenge of strength. Each of you I will have you step up and demonstrate your most powerful move. and make it as impressive as you can with as much flair.
Speaker: and show as strength as you can, because these judges, me included, He gestures to the Conkeldurr and the Whiscash. We'll be judging you. on your performance at the end Throughout these trials, all of your scores will be added up. person with the highest score.
Speaker: wins the prize. There is no second or third place. Sup. Where's that? I will call you guys up one at a time. And this is the time I'm realizing I gotta pull up a moveset for Porygon Abra and uh...
Speaker: Okay. Do we have to just use one move? Yes, it is one move and that is the next person's turn. I had a cool sequence planned.
Speaker: I was going to do a quick attack into Flame Wheel. I'll see if you can get away with it. um I'll have you roll something and see if you can either convince the judge to do it or try and hide it however you want to do it.
Speaker: Oh, okay. Boom. depending on how you would be doing it I could alternatively just do A temper flare.
Speaker: Bye. Who knows? We'll see. Okay. Uh, sup? See ya. The Alakazam clears his throat, and he calls forward, Pixel Leporegon!
Speaker: And Pixel steps forward. flits forward and stands in the middle of the room. All right, so How do you want me to... Just aim at the wall? The wall is indestructible, so...
Speaker: Do whatever you need. If it's not going to hit the wall, just do it in the middle of the room and we'll be fine. And the Porygon... You see him You see them like, uh... Charge up this mystical purple like essence and you see what seems to be like a spiral which spins and makes you feel dizzy And the Porygon is using a Confuse Ray. which is something I didn't know I could learn.
Speaker: ah So you... You guys. After a little bit. This is... Uh, that... Good. she not speakinging right The Porygon finishes its move and... Everyone politely claps.
Speaker: and the georgia does judges uh hold up A five? Ace six. and a six.
Speaker: Alright, next is... Hikaru the Pikachu!
Speaker: Ayy! And then Hikaru walks up. All right.
Speaker: She decides to use... An electro ball! And she's going to try to... Try to like juggle the try to like make the the ball go around.
Speaker: Like it's kind of like a ball of lightning that goes around her body and like kind of orbits her body like a like a like a fast planet. And...
Speaker: And then she's gonna, like... swing her tail and hit it at the wall. Okay. So you, uh... Yep, you hit it off the wall. ah Anything you want to happen with it, it just bounces off the wall.
Speaker: No, it's just like... No, it just, like, ah explodes into a shout into like a shower of, like, rainbow lights. Oh, I like that. Okay. Everyone gives you a polite clap as a firework of rainbow lights explodes around the room.
Speaker: And the judges give you a 7. a6 End of story. Almost says three while five seven a 7, a 6, and a 5, which averages out to 6. Woo!
Speaker: And then... She just kind of like... Alright, thank you very much. If you would stand on the other wall here. And we will call the next person. Next up, I will have...
Speaker: is Honey the Abra. And the Abra floats on over and is like... Alright, for this one... I'm gonna be doing a teleport! And you see the Abra.
Speaker: Teleport to one side of the room and back and back and back back Faster and faster and faster until it looks like he's using double team but he's only using teleport. And on the final teleport, the Abra teleports over to the Alexam, slaps him in the face,
Speaker: and teleports back to the center of the car, crossing its arms.
Speaker: The uh... alakazam looks a little taken aback but he's like oh Right, right. Uh... Hmm. He holds up a six.
Speaker: And then there's also a 5 and a 4.
Speaker: Why is the Alex Dam holding up the highest number there?
Speaker: so That averages out to a five, I think. Um... Aaron. Right, so, uh... Anyway, ah that... ah Next up is Bruce the Cyndaquil.
Speaker: Is there any chance I can do a combination of moves by any chance? Mmm. Um... Please do explain. and Maybe we'll allow something?
Speaker: So I was... thinking about trying to uh Boost up my Flame Wheel by starting it off with a Quick Attack. and it's showing off kind of like a spin dash kind of an action that I've been working on.
Speaker: I like your creativity. Let's see what you got. Alright. So Bruce basically just... Starts off at one end of the room. and then like just starts sprinting with quick attack into the the center.
Speaker: And then... Jones. like kind of diagonally into a flame reel. and just like spins in a big circle and then like... Goose.
Speaker: Does like a spin dash into the wall Oh that's cool. Everyone gives you a very polite clap, and the Alakazam holds up an 8. and eight.
Speaker: and a 7. giving you an average of approximately 8.
Speaker: nice And last up. Uh, Ritchie the pomo! Richie comes up. And... Sheesh. He... He uh, like...
Speaker: charges up some electrical energy in between his palms and at the wall he shoots a charge beam And you see this electrical beam hit the wall and it bounces all around the room until the whole room is basically made of light.
Speaker: Whoa. whoa wow And as soon as Inez... Just as quick as it showed up, it all disappears. Leaving you you guys... You guys looking like it's you guys feel like it's dark outside because you guys got hit by so much light because your pupil is diluted now it's all dark in comparison And it takes a minute for you guys.
Speaker: Eyes to adjust.
Speaker: so ah Oh yeah, if you guys could keep track of your guys' own scores, that would be appreciated. Thanks, because I'm having to keep track of a lot of scores. Yeah.
Speaker: Eli, do you remember the others? Um... Yeah, because it was... Yeah, the Pixel got... Dead. eight seven six And then you got the 654, I believe.
Speaker: I think that was 765. Yeah, 765. yeah so Yeah, you did have an average of six. Yeah, I'm just rounding to the years old number. So Bruce has 8, Hikaru has 7.
Speaker: Hikaru. seven Honey had, I think, five? Honey had five. Pixel had six. and Pomo. as he is finishing. the judges hold up and 8.
Speaker: an eight, and a seven. giving him an average score of 8. Uh... Richie. Richie the palmer, Richie eat.
Speaker: all Alright. Very well done. Very well done. The Alakazam steps forward. And ah looks at you guys all. That was very impressive. The current standings are as follows. In first place, we have tied Bruce and Richie for 8.
Speaker: Hikaru has 7. Pixel has six, and Honey has 5. Don't worry if you've got a lower score. We've got more challenges coming up. So... Next up is the challenge of creativity.
Speaker: I would like you guys to create anything you can. Any work of art? Any creation. with what you have on you or in this cart.
Speaker: Pencil and paper are... Uh... What's the word? Complimentary! So. You guys have 15 minutes. Good luck.
Speaker: And he dips his head and goes and sits with the other judges.
Speaker: okay
Speaker: let me see am am i gonna draw something write something You guys don't actually have to sit here for 15 minutes to come up with something. You guys can think of something and then, uh... will just let me know what you guys are done thinking of whatever you guys got Yeah.
Speaker: Okay. Approximately 23 minutes and 52 seconds later. Alakazam Steps up and he's like, all right 15 minutes is up I would like...
Speaker: You guys with your creations? Stand along the wall, and I will call one of you each by name. So... I would first like Pixel the Porygon to come up. and show their creation.
Speaker: Pixel the Porygon floats over to the center of the room. and you see its eyes like completely shut off for a second, and then they come back on but they are glowing.
Speaker: He looks into like the ceiling. And you see... like a hologram animation. And it's like an actual animated thing. This is not real life. It is an actual animation that they generated It is of a Glaceon sitting next to a Vaporeon on a train.
Speaker: Whoa. wow And after a minute. The animation ends. and Pixel the Porygon. floats back over to the other side of the train car.
Speaker: with paleta plus And the scores, I have them written down, I forgot. The... Judges like are in all because this is the first time they've ever seen an animation before They are given a 7, a 9, and a 9.
Speaker: giving it an average of a 9.
Speaker: So yeah, you guys have just witnessed the first animation Wow. I think that would be like an 8 .3. Uh, is it? It might be. I just eyeballed it. If you want to call it an 8 .3, that's fine.
Speaker: Uh...
Speaker: Yep, that's fine. I just gotta change this off. Alright, let's do that 8.
Speaker: And... Okay, cool. uh has been adjusted Alright. Next up. Uh... Is Bruce the Cyndaquil. All right Bruce will walk up and... say um Yep. I have... composed a set of haikus for you.
Speaker: First one. Flaming Typhlosion Some people cower in fear. Protective parent.
Speaker: the second Tokatik, please share. Your happiness and good luck. with the pure of heart. And the third.
Speaker: The Beast of the Sea One flap of your wings destroys. Holmes lay in tatters. Thank you. the And a bow.
Speaker: The Alakazam steps forward. Wow, thank you. That was very nice. He holds up an eight. And you also see a 7 and a 7. giving you a score of 7.
Speaker: All right. Next up. is pomo Richie the pomo And Richie steps forward. And you can see he looks very embarrassed after the first two performances.
Speaker: And he, like... uh, reaches behind him and he like, supously holds up a... a paperclip chain necklace that he made. if There's some spare office supplies?
Speaker: and he could tell like he was not up to scratch of anyone else so he like just puts his head down and walks to the other side of the room. the judges throw up a two, a three, and a four.
Speaker: Giving him a three. No one claps. trip um He gets what? Um...
Speaker: All right. And next up is Hikaru the Pikachu. And... Okay. i I am genuinely curious to see what you have. Alright. Um...
Speaker: I still haven't come up with a title for this yet. But... Let's see how it goes. notes. I've literally never... I think I...
Speaker: I just came up with... this At least the lyrics, I don't know. Um... Okay.
Speaker: I got... Music. I got electricity. You could ask for anything.
Speaker: Charge up my battery. Bathe in bright lights. I got a great melody you could ask for
Speaker: Holy crap. crap That's actually really cool. The uh... The Alakazam uh steps forward with like a raucous round of applause holding up a nine And you also see an 8 and a 9, giving you a 9.
Speaker: Well, well done. Well done you You created that in 15 minutes? I guess I did. oh Well done. I think I deserved nine.
Speaker: And next up... is Honey the Abra. And Honey floats up. to the center of the room. And...
Speaker: He says, She says... ah I need someone to give me a... $5 and I will perform you guys a magic trick. Just five for just five poke. With like a sheepish grin.
Speaker: Anyone? Anyone willing to take the bait?
Speaker: The Alakazam seeing that no one else is. willing to give any money. um It's like... a I... I guess... ah ah Sure. He has the opera of five poke.
Speaker: Alright. Ready for my magic trick? Honey the Abra holds up the five poke Snaps her fingers. and disappears.
Speaker: but where Where did she go? oh Oh. God damn it. She stole my money. Uh... It is... Is she like actually not coming back? Does eie anyone actually know where she is?
Speaker: And it works. one. Okay. um so somebody wants one another train uh like servers or whatever pops in from another car saying that Her luggage is now gone.
Speaker: I guess we will... Treat this as a disqualification, then. Uh oh. Alrighty then. Let's keep things moving guys. If you could all step back to the other side of the train car once more. We will get on with the challenge of intelligence.
Speaker: The way this one is going to work is I'm going to pull each of you guys up one by one and I will have you debate a topic with me. The judges will score based on how well you...
Speaker: Uh... convince them of your side of the argument. I will bring up a topic You will get to choose which side of the debate to take. And I will have to.
Speaker: Try and take the opposite stance and see if I can out convince you. Do you understand? Yep. all Alright.
Speaker: You guys will be given... one ah two chances to rebut. I will be given two chances to rebut. So you will get to go first, then I will rebut. Then you will rebut.
Speaker: And then I will rebut. And after we go back and forth 30 times. The judges will score. Those are the rules. Alright. First up...
Speaker: I would like... Shikaru to Pikachu.
Speaker: Okay. ah And... Our first debate... And you may pick any stance to do this on. Try and convince me of the answer.
Speaker: There is no correct answer for this. If there are infinitely many stars in the universe, then why isn't the night sky bright as day? Think of an answer and try and debate your point. I will try and disprove you.
Speaker: Take some time if you need. Okay.
Speaker: Well... The reason why... There's the reason why we still see darkness. Um... If there's an infinite number of stars in the sky, There's gotta be.
Speaker: an infinite amount of space between them.
Speaker: And if they're growing, they must be growing apart. All the time. Constantly. And so the light from the most distant stars, you know, it can't.
Speaker: it has to have It has to have a top speed. like it can't go It can't go infinitely fast. so It just maybe some of that light just never reaches us.
Speaker: Alright. My counterpoint. If there are infinitely many stars, then there should be infinitely many stars to fill up the space.
Speaker: My counterpoint?
Speaker: is that the you mentioned the expansion of the universe the expansion of the universe cannot happen at the speed of light otherwise we would not see anything ever, as everything would always be expanding at the same rate as the speed of light, and thus nothing would be visible.
Speaker: Therefore, eventually... The infinite many number of stars must reach Earth at some point in their life. with the ve With the absence of any particles in space, assuming it is a true vacuum, near or true.
Speaker: Sad. Hmm. each Each star should have at least one photon enter Earth at any time.
Speaker: Alright. You are up to rebut. Okay. Um, you said... that You said that at least one... Every star?
Speaker: The distance stars can't reach us, can't move away from us faster than the speed of light. But e - and that therefore Every one of the ev - some light from every star should eventually reach us.
Speaker: However... That doesn't mean... That they're... there There isn't necessarily a star in every direction. Just because... you know Just because...
Speaker: The - the universe has an infinite number of stars there could be There could be spots of the sky in which there are no stars. And... There could be...
Speaker: And... Just because... you know It may be that the light... reaches us. that all of the star's light will reach us eventually, but that doesn't mean... It has to have reached us yet.
Speaker: Like... Infinity is a long time. Like, so there may be stars out there whose light... won't reach us for another billion billion years.
Speaker: Okay. Final rebuttal. Your argument is that the stars do all reach us eventually. However, it will take time for them to do so because we have to subtract the time of expansion of space. to from the uh speed of light However,
Speaker: This planet has been here for... I believe. 14 billion years. There should be more stars that have had their light reaches based on their distance than there currently have.
Speaker: Why is our sky still so dark? If but one star showed up in our night sky every single year, We should have 14 billion stars in the sky.
Speaker: and sure there are stars that die out as well. But we don't see that happen very often, in assuming even only one star a year died every year. Zen. then we should still have way more stars showing up, assuming there's at least one star for each light year. between us and that star.
Speaker: I conclude my point. Huh. Interesting point. The judges. pulled up their signs. after syncing for a minute.
Speaker: And they give you a 7. is seven. a seven and a 7. Giving you. Seven. Wow, a flat seven. Alright. And. What was your final score, by the way?
Speaker: I haven't been keeping track of yours. I think mine is... 7 plus 9 plus 7?
Speaker: Which gives you 23.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: All right. Uh... And next up... Next up is Bruce the Cyndaquil. Good. Bruce will walk forward. all Alright.
Speaker: based on our previous uh previous skirmish you understand how the rules work I do. Very well.
Speaker: all Alright. Um... Classic one. If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it. Doesn't make any sound at all. or does it exist at all? Pick a point to stand on, I will debate you.
Speaker: Well, naturally, just because Bye. Somebody is not there to see it doesn't mean it didn't happen It's a simple question of Object permanence.
Speaker: even when there is no one around to see or hear it, it would still fall, making noise in the woods. and exist.
Speaker: Alright. counterpoint. If you cannot prove that something exists, then how can you be certain it happened at all? I end my rebuttal. Okay?
Speaker: Hi. It is simple enough to prove you One simply has to... Traverse the forest. Uh... at different times before and after the fall has happened.
Speaker: and notice, hey, There was that tree there. that is now fallen on the ground. Nobody was here to see it fall, and yet...
Speaker: For all it did. All right. Counterpoint. To prove the existence of such things requires an observation and collection of proof. The theorem states that without the observation of without the collection of proof or observation.
Speaker: is something actually able to be proven to exist. In simpler terms, if no one can observe it... Then it how can you prove it exists?
Speaker: if you must observe it in order to prove that it happened or existed. then it might as well not exist at all.
Speaker: Oh yeah, that was the final counterpoint. Yeah. Yeah, I disagree with that premise as well, but... that's it that And that's the nature of debate. yeah i'm also playing I'm also playing devil's advocate here, so I also would disagree with some of the things I said, but that's the best I can do. Yeah.
Speaker: So, ah The Alakazam holds up a... uh a six And you also see a7 and a7, giving you also a7. Eli, what was your final score?
Speaker: No. So that is... 22. Oh, 22. Okay. I will say this before you guys ah suggest I smudge the rolls or anything. I predetermined their scores.
Speaker: So, your guys' scores were like... genuinely based on how you did. So you did have a chance of losing. assuming you didn't actually do well. Okay. Uh, I'm not gonna go through a debate with all the three.
Speaker: um two others
Speaker: Yeah, two others. uh for the sake of time Uh... However, Pixel ended up uh with a score of 20. And so did Richie. Was she? Pixel scored a 4 on their debate, giving the maze a total score of 20.
Speaker: Richie scored a 7 on their debate. I just watched the three sevens. That was not intentional. giving them also a score of 20. Eli, you had a score of 23? Is that what you said? 22.
Speaker: eight play but It was 8 -7 -7. For my scores. and Evelyn, you had a score of 23, correct? Whoa. The eight nines are what? 7 -9 -7.
Speaker: Yeah, and what did Bruce get for intelligence test? I did. Oh. I have a seven. Okay. just type yeah i think you guys have the same thing Toopy buddy, don't be doing this right now. I'm just trying to step on my keyboard.
Speaker: All right So. after all this ah After all the have been tallied, we have Honey the Abra. Disqualified. We have Richie at 20.
Speaker: Pixel at 20. We have. Bruce at 22. and Hikaru at 23 in first place. Congratulations, Hikaru the Pikachu!
Speaker: Here are your rewards! And he walks up to you and gives you a thousand Poké. Oh, fuck. A focus sash? And... That was it right? Just those two things. I think so Okay.
Speaker: As I say, I thought there was a third thing, but I think I was thinking of a third thing. Was there not a third thing? You said that. It was just... the money and the vitamins. okay oh vitamin that's it yeah the vitamin and it hands you a bottle of vitamins uh what uh stat of vitamins do you want this to be?
Speaker: The way I'm going to have this work is this bottle of vitamins allows you to increase any of your human stats by one. of human stuff.
Speaker: intra Okay, so it's not the... protein, iron. carbos calcium i mean it it is but i also want to give you guys a way to increase your human stats since we don't have the guild system yeah So I'm... boom turning the vitamins into that. Since we have other items that can increase.
Speaker: the these are I'm just going to say that there's a nebulous item called vitamins that lets you pick a a stat of your choice and and a human stat of your choice and increase that. I think that's a better way of putting it.
Speaker: Okay. So he hands you the bottle of vitamins. Hmm. A focus sash and 1 ,000 poking. That's it. the focus sesh that's the other Thank you. Thank you.
Speaker: If this item isn't in there it uh the focus ash and also for the audience uh the focus sash when held. If you get one shot from full health, it leaves you with 1 HP.
Speaker: So if you're at 52 of 52 health. and you get hit with a fucking earthquake. you will always survive with at least one HP. However, the focus sa gets consumed in the process. okay I was about to ask, is it? behave like a scarf or does it behave like in the mainline games where it's a one -time use No.
Speaker: It's a one -time use. okay
Speaker: Congratulations, and thank you guys for joining. Make sure to visit us next year for the trial train. train trials, Oh man, I can't speak. For the train trials next year. With that I will bid you adieu.
Speaker: As you guys are leaving, you hear the train like announcements overhead. now arriving in Mist City. Hmm? Ah convenient. Oh.
Speaker: Very convenient. As we're walking. back to our own train car you know talk Talk to you, Cairo. Say it. that That was an amazing song for...
Speaker: come for just 15 minutes to come up with it. I think you could have gotten a perfect 10 if you had just been a little more confident going into it. Just so you know, 9 was the max score.
Speaker: Oh, he goes from zero to nine. Oh, okay. I i was i guess I could have gone to 10, but I was thinking 0 to 9. Well. It was technically a 10, yeah. Yeah, I'm going to go with it.
Speaker: bru Bruce didn't know that. bru Bruce thought. 10 was next door. And Bruce is also going to what? Pull out the, uh...
Speaker: a The yellow gummy from his bag. and uh Give it to Icharu. saying it. Fear. Think you should have this. Thank you so much, Bruce.
Speaker: And... I add one yellow gummy to my bag.
Speaker: It's just transferred from one bag to another. Yeah. hu yeah these prizes you know I mean I mean, i may I may have won, but we're...
Speaker: Like... the pri - The prizes are for all of us. Really?
Speaker: You definitely earned them. Okay.
Speaker: Well... All right. I think we should check on Walter. Yeah, I was going to ask if you guys wanted to go back with Walter. Yeah, mean we we were I was doing that on our walk.
