Speaker: Hello everyone and welcome to A Path Through Time. My name is Dakota, your PM, your DM, your GM, and sitting to my left is somebody who has been drinking way too much.
Speaker: It's me, Evelyn. Let's go, team. I mean, don't know.
Speaker: Uh, and sitting to my left is somebody who was up until six in the morning celebrating the next win with me. Well, in the same, and within within a 1500 mile radius of me.
Speaker: Yeah, sure. Totally. That's me, Eli. All right. Yep. 100%. Don't listen to him, he's a Spurs man. the the The distance is accurate.
Speaker: That's all I'm gonna say. We were within the same state, which is why we were together. Between 1 and 1 billion miles. Yes. but Between 1 and 1,500 miles is indeed accurate.
Speaker: It's grosso for exaggeration, but still accurate. I think you guys are actually further than 1500 miles from me. Maybe. Yes.
Speaker: Yeah, but that's why she wasn't talking about you. She was talking about me. Man, I just wanted to feel included. No, yeah you stay out of it. You don't get me included. Alright, fine. I'll go play all my favorite NPCs.
Speaker: And sitting not quite directly across from me is someone...
Speaker: Whose internet just conked out?
Speaker: Oh wait, it looks like it's back now. Uh.
Speaker: Uh.
Speaker: Uh. This is the dumbest bit you guys have done so far. Do you guys actually want me to leave like a 10 second pause the episode? Oh yeah, totally. 100. Oh, my internet back. Hey guys.
Speaker: i think Eli just has a switch to Jake's internet. Hey, no, nobody's supposed to know about that. It's Eli Internet Incorporated. Jake's the only subscriber.
Speaker: It kills his internet too.
Speaker: Cause he can only subscribe to his own internet service, see.
Speaker: Hey wait, if you own Jake's internet provider, then doesn't that mean you have access to his search history? Oh shit. don't need to talk about that. that's true Alright.
Speaker: Oh no! Oh, i was good I was gonna say, uh, we should do both recap, but I actually, uh, did some math the other day, and, it turns out uh, probability of me doing a recap is actually just about 60%. That then sounds about right for what we've had happen so far. Yeah, because it's 70, it's cubed, think is what is.
Speaker: cuba it think is what it is isn' That it thats not sounds wrong. What Everyone... every yeah that hold up one right so the probability that your number the probability that you have the same role as at least one of three other roles Okay, yeah, so the probability of me not being the one ah is 0.421% chance.
Speaker: So the probability, the reciprocal to that is the probability of me getting, having to the recap is 58%.
Speaker: 8%. Yeah, 58%. Yeah, approximately. No, I think I see our viewer count drop every time we start doing math. I just see the viewer comment going, eeeh. Oh yeah, we did a lot of math in the last few episodes. The last mainline episode we did, we did so much math. And then in the D&D episode, we did a lot of math.
Speaker: Or no, that's what was saying. Oh, this is the D&D episode. Because I made you guys do math, and then the math went all wrong. Yep, and then you had all the wrong answers. Who was we?
Speaker: Walter did no math.
Speaker: Alright, go ahead and pull out your dice and we shall roll for recap. Walter just played God a little bit with a mayor.
Speaker: I got a three. Three. Two. Yes, okay, yes, I got it too. Jake, you have to do the recap. Finally, I got out of it.
Speaker: Shit. I'm so prepared. I wasn't banking on him having to do it again. all Alright, last episode.
Speaker: Last episode, we went to this, I don't remember the name of the city. um giant solution New Shimmer City.
Speaker: Something Shimmer Shimmer. that new shimmer city um where we've um where we had a bunch of things going on um bruce went to go get the glasses fixed by a um in a glass working shop that had a crocodile work it that was strung up somehow Oh, can I interject here, actually?
Speaker: ah So I actually listened back to this episode, and I realized well i there was no reason for me to put him on the ceiling. The reason I initially did that to was to make it inaccessible to Eli, or to Bruce, oh so you couldn't cut up the at the... ah wires, but then I just made the wires indestructible anyway, so there was literally no reason for him to be on the ceiling, which I think is absolutely hilarious. There was also no explanation for why he was on the ceiling.
Speaker: Listen, was perfect. It was needed. That was so funny. There was no reason for him to be on the ceiling. it didn't give an explanation as to how he got on the ceiling. He just was on the ceiling, and it was awesome, so.
Speaker: Listen. Anyway. We don't ask. we It just happens. Anyway, continue. Yes, thank you. Anyway, we... um you threw me off now way to go you threw me off um well there were three parts to that episode yeah yeah you're moving three episodes in one and then me and eblin went to go see walter hikaru went to go see um the mayor that is a well got changed halfway instead of being a or the harayama
Speaker: a hariyama yeah fake hariyama it was it was going to be a real one until um they decided to change it to a why not so why not in a hariyama costume some wizard of awe stuff happening don't pay attention to the little pokemon inside
Speaker: then we made a deal with him if we could get information about the city we're trying to look for if i could walter could turn him into a bigger pokemon First try did not work out so well.
Speaker: um and He turned into pseudo-Woodo. arms flying And then yeah Second try... he turned into Lucario y Which brought in Mega Evolutions into this system now.
Speaker: Mega Z. Mega Z. I don't like that form at all.
Speaker: It's alright at best. um And then that where we ended off?
Speaker: Sort of he get he told you that There was a certain captain who would be willing to take you to the the ah marked island that was labeled as New Shiver. Shivertry City. Did we meet the captain yet, or did we just get told about him? No.
Speaker: You guys are starting the episode where you guys are going to be exiting the mayor's office and going to the dock. So... That's where we're going starting the episode, but you did miss something quite huge in the episode. Something that took up half the entire episode.
Speaker: Did he miss what Bruce did? think he missed what Bruce... Yeah, he missed what Bruce did. He missed what he himself and Evelyn did. oh skipped about 75% of the entire episode. episode I'm sorry, let's still go back at, um... When's the last time Jacob had to do a recap?
Speaker: Alone. Uh... Oh my god, yeah, have you even done a recap? A small arc yet? I don't... Not this arc, not last arc. I never did it alone, last arc. I never did it alone. I had do it.
Speaker: Not alone. Not alone. Usually I just pop in bits in here and there and never do a full one. Hey, no way. But the, uh, so, um, yeah, uh, Eli, do you want to take the part about the, uh, Crooked Isle's Crooked Glasses?
Speaker: Sure, so yeah, Bruce went to, Crooked Isle's Crooked Glass shop, uh, to get a new pair of glasses for Blair, and found the, the, the owner of the shop, Crooked Isle,
Speaker: a tied up in a bunch of like high-grade wiring that he couldn't slash his way through a cauldron of molten glass almost bubbling over it so he was they did a bunch of skill checks to uh
Speaker: do a combination of making the glasses himself and stopping this glass from exploding. And then he went and,
Speaker: went to meet up with the mayor expecting to find the conversation already halfway through only to see Hikaru and Walter a little ways down the street not at the mayor's office yet yep and Evelyn do you want to take over as to why you guys were not at the mayor's office yet
Speaker: It was because we were at that we were at that bag shop um bartering the rights to a song for bag updates. Oh my you're right!
Speaker: was wondering how the hell you didn't remember that. Listen, I forgot to do the whole recording bit. I forgot to to record my bit of the song. I know, you guys never give me a song and I'm so sad.
Speaker: so I never got around to it. I'm busy. That's fine. I'm not. I'm not. sorry i goodnna watch I was just not going to myself.
Speaker: So, yeah. ah So, basically, that's it. You guys did a bunch of... ah a bunch of bag shenanigans. You guys made a song. And, uh, so that was actually really nice. i loved that. What you guys did there. So, hot beautiful yeah so Hikaru and Walter got free bag upgrades and Bruce got a free pair of glasses.
Speaker: Well, you say free, you have had to do the work, so. Yeah, you paid me on labor.
Speaker: Is that it?
Speaker: yeah ah Eli has the glasses that he needs to give to Blair so a Blair can research more on new shivers tree or Shiver City.
Speaker: Yeah, that's...
Speaker: Oh, yes. Sorry, I just remembered something, a crucial part of this episode and running today that I forgot about until now, so glad I remembered that. But I believe that is it, so are you guys ready to go on in?
Speaker: just noticed here that I forgot to put the glasses in my bag, but while I was checking my bag, I noticed I have a cultist's note in my bag.
Speaker: And I'm not entirely sure what that is. Why do you have a cultist note? I think that's from the cult of the, um you know, the god we're facing, basically, the demidod. It might be from the cult's town. Oh! well Or the Halloween episode.
Speaker: That was the note that was dropped by um Chai the Leafeon when she took a cyanide pill. Right. Oh my god, I yeah forgot that happened. That's what it was. Okay, yes.
Speaker: Got it. Okay. forgot Dakota's dog did that. Okay, I was gonna say, I don't think we did anything with anything like actual cult related except for that Halloween episode we did like two years Yeah, because like I wouldn't have put an item in my bag and kept it there if it was from the Halloween episode. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Yeah, we've gone through multiple changes since then. I doubt you'd keep that.
Speaker: I do still have... Oh, right. I do still have Bob's watch and wallet. Oh my god, I completely forgot about that. God, I should make him inquire about that at some point. that'd be hilarious.
Speaker: Yeah, uh... I don't know. Maybe if he, uh, like... actually like proves to be somewhat loyal to this team here.
Speaker: Bruce will voluntarily give those back. Maybe. We'll see. He gets it back when he's been a when he earns it. We hold it hostage. This is this is your pay for this week.
Speaker: It's his credit card. These were already mine. It's like, hey, I was wondering where that's been.
Speaker: You got a random move for us, Jake? Head Charge. Head Charge? Is that actually a move? Yeah, that's ah that was Kranidos and Rampardos's... No, no, no, no, that's Head Smash. Head Charge is Bouffalant's signature move.
Speaker: Ah, okay. i thought i thought it'd be topical I thought it'd be topical. Yeah, why not?
Speaker: Alright, let us Head Charge on in.
Speaker: all Alright, so I'm gonna give you guys an opportunity to do do some things if you need to before we ah before you guys head to the dock. So you guys are exiting the Town Hall right now, and if there's anything you need to take care of immediately, you should probably do so now.
Speaker: Yeah, I'm gonna pull out my GBA and give Blair a call. all Alright, so, after a couple minutes, uh... A couple minutes? You're just not ringing that wall i just come off sight that long. After a couple seconds.
Speaker: Your DBA rings for 15 minutes. No, no, okay. pick off Hi, who is this? Shoot, um... Real quick, but um, i was I bought two of those orbs and used one of them on the mayor, right?
Speaker: Yes. yeah What was it called again? Orb of a Transform Orb. No, Transfer Orb. Transfer Orb? Okay. Transfer, not transform.
Speaker: okay. Transfer and orb. Transform would make more sense, but, yeah, okay. I think it's transform.
Speaker: I'm pretty sure on the system it is items list fucking trans let's see oh I need to hit control I just
Speaker: transfer orb it is Eli was correct it's the transfer orb transfer so yeah Yeah, transfer orb.
Speaker: Foe transforms into a different orb. Pretty much how you would expect to spell it.
Speaker: then it's not popping up, so I'm probably spelling wrong. Oh well. Oh my gosh. We know what it does. We know what does. All right, hold on. Do you have a space between the words and truth words capitalized?
Speaker: Trans-fer-orb. Fuck, I misspelled it.
Speaker: That may be it. There you go, transfer-orb.
Speaker: And if it doesn't work then that's unfortunate because it's definitely supposed transfer. No, I think it's a fact I didn't capitalize. No, it definitely works. And I didn't capitalize either. Whatever.
Speaker: Anyway, you delay ah Eli, after after a couple seconds, um you hear someone pick up the phone and it's it's Blair.
Speaker: ah Hey Bruce, what's up? ah So I got your glasses made. They're not the greatest looking, but so they'll do the job.
Speaker: a I was... I'm hoping that I'll be able to just badge warp them over to base. So if you don't mind, like, just stepping outside and being ready to catch them...
Speaker: Uh, I mean, can't you just deliver them yourself? You know, badge will transfer you back, right? Oh. I guess I could do that, but that sounds like less fun.
Speaker: I guess I can... Alright, I'll be down in the dungeon... or dot dungeon the Doesn't it warp us to like outside our front stoop?
Speaker: or It warps you into the base. So like the ah underground with the big screen. ah fashion okay yeah I guess I can just warp myself and I'll meet you there. Alright, I'll be down in a second.
Speaker: Also, i said you know what time it is, right? Uh, it's like can now like... what, like... almost night time?
Speaker: Bruce, it's 2.30 a.m. Wait, what? I spent longer making these glasses than I thought I did, apparently. Bruce learns about time zones.
Speaker: Okay, we had this discussion at the beginning of last episode, but you you guys got to New Shimmer City when it was dark out because the city is shimmering. And then you guys did stuff for like an hour or so. It's like 2.30 at night.
Speaker: Oh my goodness. Wait, the whole city is just shimmering like you can't even see the night sky? like Is it basically just um it's the Pokemon Tower of Kanto that never falls asleep until Jigglypuff does it?
Speaker: Uh... Oh, you're talking about from anime? Yeah. More like New York City. Yeah, I was thinking it's like New York City. There's Neon Bates everywhere. or like Vegas or something. i like I like the Vegas more. like Vegas more. It's Vegas. It's clearly Vegas. It is not Vegas.
Speaker: It's Vegas, but take out all of the casinos. yeah it's vegas uh sure it's just it's like volkenberg if i had a lot more lights it's called new shimmer city for a reason yeah oh so blair's like i'll be downstairs just give me a minute i gotta be quiet just give me a second i feel like sorry i forgot how late it was forget how blind is she without her glasses
Speaker: It'd be funny if the phone was on and we'd just hear a crash. Crash. I feel like it's more of just like... It's not Velma levels, but she can't read like anything when she doesn't have her glasses.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: So you're going to teleport down to the... I'm going to turn to Walter and Ikaru and say... Hey, I'm going to be gone real quick. I'm going to deliver these glasses to Blair and then pop right back.
Speaker: Sound good? All right. ah Hope you... i Are you sure it's going to work? We've done it before, but that's what we did going to with the the the whole the house shenanigan where we left the bad guys and brought back reinforcements.
Speaker: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. yeah I remember now. Well, you know i hope you come back in one piece. Thanks. those I wish it was like 1158 and then I'd cheese my aura sense.
Speaker: Oh, we already discussed that your aura sense doesn't they have any limits anymore. Alright. Alright.
Speaker: Um, yeah. So yeah. what The docks are open right now?
Speaker: Yeah, I'm not so sure about that, but we'll deal with that when I get back. Well, if you remember last episode, I ah think you just mentioned something like, I can't believe you guys are open this late. And the crocodile said something about, like, yeah, we actually get a decent amount of business or not enough business. to let this out I don't remember.
Speaker: But you guys did mention it last time. don't remember what the result of that was. Is it like The Simpsons where you can't even tell it's dark?
Speaker: I don't watch the Simpsons. Basically a bunch of lights got put and it constantly looks like it's like evening. It constantly looks like it's like a morning. You can definitely tell it's nighttime outside. It's just very well lit.
Speaker: Because once again, you guys are a new Shimmer City. Capital of the Lux region. I love this town. yes sir Yeah, it is in the Lux region. Lux state, not region. Sorry. yeah Hey, Kara, you know what really pulled this town together? Their own terrorist avenue.
Speaker: Terrorist avenue? Hey, you guys haven't explored all of the city yet. Oh, I'm sorry. Oh, jeez. the octa arctic just moved here he moved into the suburbs and she's all right so bruce you wink into the base you wink out of existence and you wink into the base and uh it is dark there's no lights on or anything um but Okay, go on, sir. Well, so there's the dot that's always on the computer screen giving little light. Uh, yes. There's a blinking dot. So can find the light switch.
Speaker: Plus his flames. Okay, so as you as you reach for the light switch, you see a little bit of light open up where the staircase of the surface is, and you just hear a bunch of crashing and tumbling as it's clear that Blair has fallen down the stairs.
Speaker: Well, I flip on the lights... And Blair is on the ground at the foot of the stairs. ah shit! Uh, Bruce, is that you? Yeah. I got your glasses here. Hopefully that can, uh, not happen anymore.
Speaker: Okay, so see she gets up, takes the, uh, glasses, uh... So she takes the glasses from you guys and ah she's like, oh, so much better.
Speaker: I can actually see what I'm doing now. gez Believe it or not, that's not the first time I've fallen down those stairs. Stairs are way too steep.
Speaker: Yeah, I can believe it, sadly. Is there a specific reason you need to call at this hour? Like, come on, it's...
Speaker: I was sleeping, and so was everyone else. Uh, sorry. We were at on the tail of a new lead, and I had your glasses done and just wanted to get them to you as soon as possible.
Speaker: All right, well, I'm going to get started on that book tomorrow. I'll let you know if I find anything interesting. Alright, thank you. You just wanted me to look at New Shivertree City. Anything else?
Speaker: to Just Shivertree City, not New Shivertree City. Whatever it's called, yeah. Yeah, I mean, anything else interesting that you could find would be helpful.
Speaker: all Alright. I will keep my eye on it. Especially any knowledge of like fusing with the orbs, because that seems to be a problem now.
Speaker: I don't think any of the books I have deal with the orbs, because I'm pretty sure the only mention is in that book you guys got there, The All Games Guide to the Galaxy. Oh, okay. Because I'm doing my research based off the books in my library.
Speaker: ah okay. Then, yeah. don't know. Alright, I'll be heading to Valkenburg. I'll be heading to Valkenburg in the morning.
Speaker: Okay. Okay, I will see you guys then. And she turns it around it and leaves. Night. Night.
Speaker: rule Roll for waking people up.
Speaker: We're underground. She tumbles up the stairs. That would be sad. you can see now. What is she, Biden?
Speaker: No, she doesn't. Okay, we're not getting political here. Alright, so, uh, is there anything else you want to do? So Bruce is going to turn turn the lights back off and, uh, pop back over where the others are. Okay. Okay.
Speaker: So yeah, you get you meet up with the Gru. You were only really gone for like a minute at most. So I don't think anything really happened while i were gone. um So now that you guys are all together, it is, like I said, it is 2.30 at night.
Speaker: You guys can continue if you want, but I will also give you guys the options to just say, oh, look, a hotel, and suddenly it's daytime. So without any preamble. So you guys can quick rest. I made a constitution roll earlier and got a 12.
Speaker: well So... That's above. That's a big success. are you was starting to get yes She like starts to realize how tired she is.
Speaker: Yeah, so there's a couple hotels nearby. I'm not going to have you guys go through the rigmarole of replaying a whole sleeping thing. I would like to get something on this episode.
Speaker: FutureDakota here. Hey, ah so they did decide to go ahead and roleplay checking into a hotel, falling asleep, and then waking up again. Accomplishing absolutely nothing. So, I have taken it upon myself to fast forward through this since literally nothing happened. So here we go.
Speaker: ah so that's what happened with Vince.
Speaker: Oh, world domination. Okay. Uh-huh. Alright, and we're just about done. Alright. So, now that you guys have accomplished absolutely nothing, the day passes. Night passes. That'd be fucking hilarious.
Speaker: You see the sign says progress saved on the top of the screen? Yeah, progress saved. all right so all right so it is now daytime just i just want to point out the whole reason i had that encounter is because you said you wanted to talk to the front desk guy but you know what doesn't matter so it is daytime now and ah what time would you guys wake up like a good like eight o'clock Still early in morning, or what time do you guys want to start heading out? kick well I think Hikaru's getting up at like... 9.30.
Speaker: Walter is the last to get If we were going to sleep at like 2.30 to 3 o'clock, probably like 9.30, 10 o'clock. Alright, so a good like mid-morning.
Speaker: Yeah. Walter will not get up at until they're leaving. The streets are bustling. There are many people outside. Even more than there were last night.
Speaker: So, um... Granada! Where are the docks? I don't remember if... Yeah, the mayor gave you directions to the docks, right? yes Yes. Yes, we got directions to the docks.
Speaker: Okay. To be fair, just go to the ocean. Oh yeah, I guess I'll probably see the ocean through it. Just find the part of this town that has he the that has the water and just walk around I have a question. New Shuba City, is that on the south or the north coast?
Speaker: North. It's like the northwestern It's one of the most northern places.
Speaker: to that. yeah It is. It's in like a little... And you say... in a little bay And you said you were prepared for this. Oh... Interesting.
Speaker: Okay, this is gonna be fun. Alright, you guys are on the north coast. Eh, it's more like a northwest coast, but who's counting? Okay. Yeah, okay. So, you guys eventually make it your way to the docks on the north side of town.
Speaker: I have a feeling I might as well say south like last episode, but it's on the north side of town. um So you guys make your way to the ah port on the north side of town, and there seems to be a bit of a commotion going on.
Speaker: You see people running around frantically, and specifically, Walter, I want you to roll a perception check. Oh god. All right. Where's my dice? I gotta find a new dice. Roll with advantage.
Speaker: Roll with advantage. This is an ore of related check. Ooh, yay. Okay. Okay, and perception you said? Yes. you recognize some sort of aura in the air.
Speaker: It is the aura of one of those distortions, like a rift distortion. Oh no. And you see a Spydops running past you, and he's like, Everyone evacuate! The Wibblewobbles are back!
Speaker: And he runs past you down the street. What is this, a Power Ranger villain? that's The Wibblewobbles? The Wibblewobbles are back? as in, they've been here before?
Speaker: i mean, the spider option's gone. He did not stay to chat. ah Walter's getting flashbacks of the train moment. Yeah, Bruce is getting flashbacks of the field.
Speaker: Uh, guys! Back Art 1. It's, um, I'm getting the same feeling from the train. ah a similar one. I think another portal's here.
Speaker: no, boys. so I'm guessing Wibblewobbles is probably referring to the waviness of reality around it. What concerns me is that they they implied that it's been here before.
Speaker: Walter sighs, goes, we're probably gonna be the ones that have to fix it.
Speaker: I mean, we are kind of the ones investigating it. And nobody else knows what it is. Let's go. as as you guys head down the docks, there arent people are people starting to flee the docks. It seems like this is something that may have just started.
Speaker: The only one left on the docks after a little bit, other than some curious bystanders, is a very shadowy looking ship that has a bunch of like, it's like distorted and wobbly in the air. Like, kind of like how you would see like heat waves or yeah ah how like heat off of the hood of a car distorts um the air around it.
Speaker: Please tell me there's a some there's a um old naval guy that's going yelling it's a flying Dutchman. Yeah. It's a flying Dutchman. Sure, sure. There's a manky sitting on the docks and he's got a tinfoil hat on. He's like, it's a flying Dutchman. Everybody root for your lives.
Speaker: i just woke my cat up. Hey, buddy. So... like the flying catch wonder if he's a I wonder if he's related to Manky D. Floofy.
Speaker: Oh my god. I can't... oh Oh, I know. His name is... maybe... hit i mean, we'll find out later. So is the whole ship like this or just figures on the ship?
Speaker: The entire ship is like... If you've ever seen like Mario Sunshine, how it's covered in... how like the ah first Piranha Plant is covered in paint, it's kind of like that, except it's all black. Like black and purple. like The ship seems to be made of flesh.
Speaker: And standing on the deck of the ship is a Spearow, who is also covered in this like black flesh. And he's just standing there looking over the dock.
Speaker: And he is also like very wibbly-wobbly.
Speaker: Now I need, jake to you I need you to roll Perception with Disadvantage. Come on, I just 20!
Speaker: Nice.
Speaker: Nat 1! Nooooo! Oh, you got a Nat 20 and a Nat 1? Oh, okay. Okay, well, you don't notice anything. Um, so... Hold on, I have a reason why. Walter's coming up with a cool catchphrase that I've been thinking since this whole thing started. Okay. All right, what do you got?
Speaker: you'll You'll see, you'll see. alright, we'll come back to that. Um, so, this is clearly one of those distortion mobs that, uh, have been popping up ever since the orbs have been, have been causing them balance. So, in the universe of whatever the fuck I said, like, two arcs ago. So, uh,
Speaker: I don't know. It's something. So this is somewhat familiar to you guys, x except for like the fleshy exterior of the ship and the spear row.
Speaker: Something is clearly very wrong.
Speaker: Yeah, I don't like that it was like a dark purple black thing going on around. When you say fleshy, it makes me think of Bill Cipher Couch from Gravity Falls.
Speaker: Bill Cipher's couch? didn't watch Gravity Falls. Huh. That's a strange ship. Hikaru says as her like mouth gapes wide open. So we should we should destroy it, right?
Speaker: I think we need to find the source. Before to the shadow. Well, for the last time, the shadow, we had to defeat the Pokemon that came out of it. So I'm guessing we got to beat the Spearow for it to stop.
Speaker: Wasn't the captain we were looking for Spearow?
Speaker: Yeah. Are you asking me? think we should more. Oh. No, that was in character. Oh my, yes, because it's a stupid Sparrow, Jack Sparrow joke. Yeah. but We're looking for a Jack Sparrow.
Speaker: aye I feel like this might just be a guy who got caught up in something. Walter walter a scream, excuse me, your name Jack? It is I. i am Captain Jack Sparrow.
Speaker: Huh. You can actually talk. The last one couldn't. Yeah, it didn't. Do you have any idea what's going on? what do you mean the last one couldn't talk? I thought all Pokemon could talk.
Speaker: Well, not the Umbreon shadow. Wait, was he... Hikaru was there for that, right? I think all of you guys were there for that. Yeah, the train Pokemon never talked. Yeah, the shadow Umbreon on the train never talked. Yeah, the shadow Umbreon, yep.
Speaker: Oh, you're right. It maybe could, but it never talked during the combat. I forgot that that was an Umbreon. I thought that was just a shadow. No, it was an Umbreon. It was an Umbreon made of shadows.
Speaker: Question, why is all these Pokemon that we may have to face like a like Walter's like counter? A flying type and then a psychic type. Or dark type and no psychic type moves. Oh yeah, it did have psychic type moves, didn't it? Yeah.
Speaker: Anyway, um... So, the... The Spearolixing is like, Come fight to me, you yellow-bellied bastards. Hey, who you calling yellow-bellied? Hikaru!
Speaker: He challenged me. Can I fight him
Speaker: Go ahead. Alright. Walker walks up, and you you can see him charging his fist. starts breathing on his fist. You see it gets cold. He's like, call me call me an iceberg, because I'm about to sink you like the Titanic.
Speaker: He's like, furthered bring it, hon. And, uh, is that a guess? Start initiative. So, then I'll roll the speed.
Speaker: I got a 7 for speed. This is going to be so bad to roll. Yeah, let me roll this speed. I got a 9. Hold
Speaker: one second. I forgot. I actually have to keep track of initiative. So let me pull up my... To be fair, i don't think one Pokemon is going to beat all of us. I got a 9, too. Unless you roll really bad. Also, I thought this shift was like much bigger.
Speaker: You have a higher max speed, right Evelyn? Uh, yeah, my speed is 13. Jacob, what did you get? Six. Six, okay.
Speaker: So Evelyn starts, then, or, uh, Ticaru first, then Bruce, then Walter, then yeah Jack. There's a good chance I'll never start before you guys.
Speaker: The Spearow got an eight. So it's, uh, Eli and Evelyn, you can either roll off, or you guys can choose who goes first. I think we'd typically just go whoever has the faster max speed goes first. Yeah, that works too. Who has the faster max speed? It would be Evelyn, right? Yeah.
Speaker: For what it's worth, like ah I thought that this ship was going to be much taller. Like, a huge ship, and Jack Sparrow was at the top of the ship.
Speaker: I guess I didn't really describe the ship. It is ah it has a wind-powered boat. It's not engine-powered. Sailboat. Was anyone else was thinking of Davy Jones' on Caribbean ship?
Speaker: and Anyone else? what okay Okay, well, it's not a sailboat, but it's it's okay it's it's based off the Black Pearl, obviously. It's a large boat, and painted on the side, it says the Taillow Feather.
Speaker: Yeah, just think black pearl. Just pull up an image and as you can see it. Yeah, except it is basically made of flesh now.
Speaker: And it's all a wibbly wobbly. So, ah alright, well, Jake, you're actually going to start because you're you initiated the combat, so we'll have you do an attack and then... Yay!
Speaker: And even if I really don't want to use the ice move, I got to after I just did that um whole talking with the ice punch. But before we start, i want to I want to point out that part of the gimmick of this is instead of taking your turn, you may choose to roll Perception with disadvantage.
Speaker: Oh.
Speaker: Is it just me or all of us? No, anyone. You may sacrifice a turn to rule Perception with this advantage. If it was just me, I would sacrifice it, but since not, no, I'm actually... Walter walter got permission to fight this time. He's happy. He's going to fight. Alright, but you'll still have your bonus action, so... I shouldn't say turn, should say action. I hit 10.
Speaker: Uh, ten. Yes, that'll... So, what's it? Ice fist? What is it? is french Ice fist? Ice fist? I'm sorry, good sir. I do not know what you mean. I what I said as soon as I said ice fist. Wait, did you just say ice piss?
Speaker: No! Ice what? New quote.
Speaker: yeah nice what new quote
Speaker: and i yes that's an awful and the ne Did you actually said ice piss? are physical. my moves. Okay. but i heard
Speaker: um so thirty thirty six thirty six damage especially to physical um physical life all my all my moves are physical all my moves okay Alright, so that's times two minus defense. Or is it minus defense times two? times two.
Speaker: Okay, I was for happy order. stuff You know, thirty six I was just doing the joke for ice for about the ship thing. I forgot the ice super effective. Yeah, it is. was even being tactical. I was just doing the whole bit about the iceberg. Alright, you did 46 damage to this tail though.
Speaker: Hell yeah. you sir BELIEVE IN A SCRATCH! Yeah, it's Spiro, sorry, it's Spiro. Inside! Inside, I wanna know if that actually made it more than a scratch. wanna know if it's BSing me.
Speaker: Sure. Sure. Don't worry, I've got a plan for that. So, Aayla is doing the whole Monty Python thing? Uh, so, 13. Oh, wait, you're talking about with the Frenchman?
Speaker: Yeah. ah Yeah. 13. It did zero damage, basically, to him is what it looks like.
Speaker: Guys, I think we should look at Perception. Wait, what?
Speaker: There's some BS going on where damage gets transferred to something else. Hmm. He's Hawking from One Piece. Like a decoy?
Speaker: Hit the ship! Do you want to try a Thundershock, or do you want to try a Perception check? I will try a Perception check. Okay, go ahead and roll Perception disadvantage.
Speaker: Okay, I get plus two, so.
Speaker: Also, good reason I didn't do is because have a plus zero.
Speaker: Oh yeah, I also have a plus two in perception. Nat one! Oh You're just as- you're thinking of a catchphrase too! No, there ain't nothing there. Nothing to see. Alright, Eli- or wait, you can still take your bonus action if you wish.
Speaker: a bonus action, okay. Yeah, sorry. I should've- yeah, I said your turn initially, I should've said your action, your main action. Quick, try to hit the ship. I have theory that we have the ship.
Speaker: What? Okay. Bonus action can be... what What's the max like? Wait, what what moves can be bonus actions? thing prior is us power Is anything that is power four or less or status moves?
Speaker: Oh, okay. I have charm. Okay. Go. Charm. like be harm Does charm work after a person has already been hit?
Speaker: Or does it only count if you've hit them or not? What? Charm just lowers attack. Charm isn't in attack. I'm thinking of charming person from D&D after the D&D talk.
Speaker: Nice.
Speaker: so mike As a bonus action, that should be foe's attack minus two. Something like that. That missed, though. Oh, you missed. Oh, dang. Unfortunate.
Speaker: Okay. It is Bruce's turn. All right. So I'm actually going to use something that we haven't used in a very long time. I'm going to use an IQ skill.
Speaker: Oh, hey. Hey, we've been using them. I use it i use it to go through the train. but not in battle. I'm going to use the stat checker iq skill where I can roll smart and if I get a full success, I learn two stats and if I get a mixed success, I learn one stat.
Speaker: I just want to point out that's one of the few things in the system that still retains the mixed success, full success system that Nata Scratch uses. I do not use that. I use a full grayscale system.
Speaker: Ah, I think the only the other thing is the coin watcher. Yeah, something like that. Alright, so go ahead and roll.
Speaker: Turn it off. I tried to do something fun, and I get a 5 plus what's the... Alright, well you can try the next turn. It doesn't cost anything, so.
Speaker: Yeah, that's true. Um, well... In that case, do I try the perception check? Because I also have plus two or do I just attack?
Speaker: you like I like... I have an idea, but I don't know if this is considered... i don't It's not metagame, but i don't know if I should talk and and during your turn about what idea i have. yeah Yeah.
Speaker: I think, you know, Bruce is generally the analytical type. He's going to take the time to try to figure out what's going on with this battle.
Speaker: i Can um Walter just pronounce and say that he he um he is hes doesn't think any damage got happened to him?
Speaker: Or do I need to wait for my turn to to reveal this? Ooh! Okay. Well, so my first roll was a dirty 20. My second roll was an 18. Oh! yeah All right. So with an 18, you can see some shadowy tendrils connecting the Spearow that are going towards the ship.
Speaker: Oh my gosh, he's a puppet. Okay. Okay. So, it's what I thought initially, guys. This guy isn't our actual foe.
Speaker: I think he's being controlled. And...
Speaker: Controlled by what? Well, so there's some, like, dark tendril things coming out of the the back of that spear that seem to be connecting him to the ship somehow.
Speaker: Should we try to cut it off him, or should we just go straight for what the tendril main the main body? yeah so I'm going to try to quick attack at one of the tendrils.
Speaker: Okay. Go ahead and... Because that bonus actionable thing. Yep, that's fine. Of course we're facing the Kraken. That's a 12 to hit.
Speaker: Alright, that'll definitely hit.
Speaker: do Do you want me to roll damage or what's happening here? Yeah, I guess that's the flavor of that. So you don't really have to roll damage because as you quick attack, you zoom towards these shadowy tendrils and that is exactly what it is. It is just shadow. There's not any actual substance to it. So while the tendrils do like dissipate out of the way, they just reform as quickly as they were Susie Pastor.
Speaker: It's like a mist, basically. You can't damage a mist. Okay. So real quick before we go after the main body, after the spear was turned of course, I want to bet what kind of octopus Pokemon this is.
Speaker: Or squid. My theory is this this is a shadow squid-like Pokemon that uses its um tentacles as controlling puppets. For some reason I keep thinking Shuppet, but no. That could work actually, but I don't think so.
Speaker: I'm hoping this is just tendrils coming out of the rift itself that have taken control of this Spirou's mind. If we see a Shadow Pokemon, this will confirm that all rifts have Shadow Pokemon.
Speaker: If we see one. Well, not necessarily. Well, not necessarily, but it'll be a good basis to always assume there's one Yeah, I guess.
Speaker: You know what they say, causation is not correlation. Yeah, because like the first rift that we saw dissipated with no shadow Pokemon at all.
Speaker: Yes, and this is me out of player thinking that Dakota didn't have an idea for shadow Pokemon yet. He might be onto more than you think.
Speaker: i don't think he had an idea to have but fights for the portals.
Speaker: Yeah. Okay. So, yeah. Alright. It is now the Spiral's turn. Did Bruce did that really to just show that attacking the ten they showed the others that attacking the Tendrils themselves doesn't seem to do anything?
Speaker: Yeah, it's just misnomer. I'm scared for my idea to attack the ship if that's actually like other Pokemon flesh. That's like there are souls in that. I'm so scared.
Speaker: Okay, um so the Spearow is going to look at Walter and he's gonna go for a thief. Oh, you better not steal from me. what Thief!
Speaker: Thief. He's going to steal my money. So, okay, so he rolled a 15, which will hit. What is your held item? Oh yeah.
Speaker: You bitch. Oh no. Power band. So he's going to take your power band. Can you read me the description for power band?
Speaker: When held, increase stats, and it's plus eight for an attack. Ooh, okay, nice. Wait, it should be based on your base stat.
Speaker: Is it? We've always gone off 8. At least that's what i was told. It says when held, attack increases by base stats. Yeah, so it's by 8 because Viola's stat is 8. Yeah, okay. So his is going to increase by 6. No, it is not. It is 7.
Speaker: Oh, you've been cheating this whole time? You're the one who told me 8. Well, it was 8 and not a scratch. That might be where you heard that from. That might be it.
Speaker: Yeah, Ralph's always was 8. Yeah.
Speaker: So you no longer have a power band. You may remove that change in battle section. Yeah. Oh, and by the way, the damage for that, the damage, this will be before the power band because he did not have the power band for attack you, will be 2d6 plus 8. Where's my d6?
Speaker: Dakota, I don't want to eat.
Speaker: six two 8 plus 8 is 16. 16 physical attack is plus 10, so... What did I just say? 26. 26 damage.
Speaker: Minus defense is divided 2 because it's a dark type move on a fighting type. That is correct. So wait, it 26 minus so be damage.
Speaker: six you just want you just want that power ban you
Speaker: I don't know. Walter's eyes go fiery, so nothing's done. Walter's going to something extreme here. Okay.
Speaker: It is. He's supposed to take his bonus action. Do you ever have anything that is a bonus action applicable? Yes, he does. he is going to look at Walter, and he's going to use Swagger.
Speaker: What does that do? Oh, boy.
Speaker: Swagger, the foe is confused, but your attack is plus four. Yeah, that's what I thought. So, you have the confusion status.
Speaker: Confusion, confusion. there's Confusion. Confusion. Confusion. Let me wrap that. uh attack if result is wait what you are confused for d6 turns roll dice when you attack even attack works i don't know if this works but i have inner focus i don't know if that does anything with confused oh that's only for flinch flinch or intimidate inner focus prevents flinch so go ahead and roll d six that's how many turns you're confused
Speaker: I think that's supposed to be you that rolls it. and Yeah, you roll. We don't know. Okay. You are confused for three turns. Don't I get a chance to roll out of it? Yes. Every turn, ah you don't get to roll out of it, but you do get to every time you roll, you roll any dice.
Speaker: If it's an even, your attack works. If it's odd, you hit yourself. I believe it's at half damage. yeah you roll damage in decaf without just the rolled damage not with adding god that is is a strong move in this system i remember it usually just being i have to roll to see if my attack works and roll to hit well it it helps that you're they're all glass cannons so you guys don't have too much uh health you just have a lot of attack yeah so for three turns the attack doesn't matter for confusion
Speaker: ah is It's not adding attack or special attack, it's just the roll to damage. Is Because that's the whole point of Swagger, is that you gain an attack from it.
Speaker: Yeah, but in this system, that doesn't really apply. don't know. I'll take that to a vote. Do you guys... Attack going up as a parent is independent of the confusion effect, then?
Speaker: Okay, so you guys don't want attack to count?
Speaker: Well, that's just how confusion is for this system. OK. Don't ask me. I'm unbiased right now. shit are biased.
Speaker: Okay, in that case we can do without, but I will say in the i future I might have to rework that. Because the whole point of Swagger is that it gives you an attack so that way you can hit yourself harder. That is the entire point of Swagger. Yes.
Speaker: so Oh no, I'm not disputing that. Just that that doesn't really work in this system. I see. ah Yeah, it doesn't work unless the attack actually counts in Confusion.
Speaker: Mm-hmm. So, okay, if that's the case, then I propose we do not give him a plus four to attack.
Speaker: I'll be fine. Because, like, it just basically turns it into Flatter, because Flatter does the same thing but boosting your special attack, and that never affects how much damage you do to yourself with Confusion. Yeah, i can see that. All right, fine. All right, fair, fair.
Speaker: So I get my four? air Yeah, you can have your four. Not like it's gonna matter. Alright. So... Right, so that's what he does. You are now confused for the next three of your turns.
Speaker: ah So, it is now Jake's turn.
Speaker: So... I'm gonna roll my own roll for smarts right now. just wanna see if I'm gonna do the smart thing and Not focus the Spearow. I'll keep focusing him.
Speaker: right. He's so not going to go for Spearow. He's going to try to jump on the boat and follow the tendril okay to the source. All right.
Speaker: Okay, ah so the boat is not like directly connected to the dock. It's being held on by like some ropes and stuff. So you do have to jump over the jump over the water to get to the boat. Can you roll an athletics check or dexterity?
Speaker: think they might do the same thing. Athletics, 19. Okay, 19. You make it over just fine. The reason I didn't have Eli do it is because he quick attacked over. I was going to ask about that. i you couldn attack Unless I could makeshift force palm make me just jump in the air, but I'd take an attack.
Speaker: That you didn't need to do. yeah so You land on the boat, and I guess I should have described this for or for Bruce when he landed earlier, but the deck of the boat is squishy.
Speaker: This is very gross feeling. With every step you take, it is wet and fleshy. is gonna do next Walter is too head-focused right now to find the Tendil so he can get back his um this item that he's had since day one.
Speaker: Okay, so the Spiro has your item. No, i know, your self is a my only high roll my role is to figure i think if Walter would understand I've done no damage with it, and there's something controlling him, so...
Speaker: I ruled if he would be sensible enough if he would go there and he got a 16 on that. Okay, so what are you doing? You still have both your action and your He's looking for the source where the tendril like stops.
Speaker: So you can see the tendrils, they head towards the boat and now that you're on the boat, you can see that the tendrils actually head like somewhat into the boat. Like there's a a door that seems to have a staircase that leads downwards, but you can't see where that staircase leads.
Speaker: Walter is gonna he's gonna try to go down there and um know, can i makeshift eat and I'm gonna have my aura sense, my inner focus to lead me to the source of it.
Speaker: You don't need to because you can already see the tendrils now that Bruce has pointed them out. So you can just see where they lead. And I will say you are doing a lot of action by leaping over the boat and running all the way into the belly of the boat. I'll be fine if that ends it. I'm getting there. You can enter the belly of the boat, but that will end your turn. I'll be fine.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Alright, so, you had to... A little warning, guys. Don't come down here.
Speaker: i don't think we hear that, because... I know! think i just
Speaker: It would be a very bad idea for you to set off TNT down there anyways. Walter's looking for the gunpowder Walter's looking for the gunpowder room.
Speaker: Okay, so... monday for So, Jake, you manage to get down into the belly of the boat, and what you see is a big wriggling mass of flesh in the middle of the boat. All of the walls are still made of black oozing flesh.
Speaker: And in the center is this big sphere made of meat that is connected. They're being held up by like a bunch of tendrils to the walls and stuff. And every now and then as the ooze moves around you can see something shining on the inside.
Speaker: Something interesting. Something silvery and glinty.
Speaker: But that is where we're going to leave that for now. ah So it is now Evelyn's turn.
Speaker: Okay, so... ah I am gonna use... you know what? I'm gonna use...
Speaker: Electroball, because if I use Electroball, it's gonna hit the but it might also hit the... um It might also hit the tendrils or whatever the tendrils or the boat that the tendrils are connected to because because electricity travels.
Speaker: So I'll try that. Okay. So what are you aiming for specifically? Spearow? The Spearow. Okay. All right. Go ahead and roll for it.
Speaker: Six. Which misses? Well, meets beats. Is it six or eight? No, meets beats. Okay, so it's yeah that'll hit then. Okay, yeah. th So the damage dice, is its ah power is eight, so it's 3d8 plus 12.
Speaker: Jesus. Okay.
Speaker: Yeah, that's how high Hikaru's speed is. Oh,
Speaker: because it's leveled up. Right? Yeah. Yep, it's based on her speed. well And also, the number of uses level up thing. Oh yeah, that's right. I think i have not been keeping track of that, I'll be honest.
Speaker: yeah Yeah. Keep track of here how how many times you guys have used it, because it will help in a long run. Especially with how much you guys have been battling recently. I don't know if you guys actually haven't been battling that much recently.
Speaker: Yeah, it'll add up more than you think.
Speaker: Okay, so I think I just rolled 3, a 2, and a 7, So 12 plus 12, 24. 24. Yes, 24. Plus Hikaru's special attack, which is 13. So the total would 37. Alright, 37 minus special defense
Speaker: plus hickcar's special attack which is thirteen
Speaker: total would be thirty seven all right sorry seven minus special defense is
Speaker: Alright, that'll be... Wouldn't that be super effective? interaction so twenty it is It is super effective, so 50. It'll say flying type on my trick.
Speaker: yeah Yeah, so that'll do 50 damage.
Speaker: So... um Go ahead and describe what you're doing. ah One thing I do want you guys to do more often, now that I've realized, you guys should actually be describing what your moves do when they happen.
Speaker: So
Speaker: Hikaru uses like her arms to generate like generate an electric... a ball of electricity in her a glowing ball of electricity in her hands, and and then like lobs it at the Spearow. Like somebody throwing a throwing a basketball.
Speaker: and um
Speaker: And yeah, and it smacks into the Spearow and we'll see what happens. So the ball of electricity does in fact smack into the side of the Spearow. And for a flicker of a second, you see something change in the Spearow.
Speaker: But just as fast as his emotions change, they change back and he's back to his hearty self. Ha! You really thought that was gonna do anything? Well, just wait until it's my turn, he says, looking at his watch. In like a few minutes, you will see my true wrath. Dakota, did that affect the orbital? What kind of watch is he wearing?
Speaker: He's wearing a Rolex, obviously. He's a pirate. that On his wing? or He's the bling on. It's on his neck. Oh, wow. oh yeah enough He's got a pole on his hair so much.
Speaker: Alright, Evelyn, you still have a bonus action. oh yeah
Speaker: Hikaru's mouth just like gapes open as she watches it. As she watches the electro ball just poof in disbelief.
Speaker: Like, oh, it didn't it didn't do much. Well, did it? It did 50 damage, but like, it sounds like it didn't actually do that.
Speaker: Didn't actually do that much. Well, he described it like you saw it knocked him out of like a transfer for a second and went right back in.
Speaker: Oh. I have the teacher's lounge pulled up our a private chat. After all the stupid gifs Jake's posting. out Mid-recording.
Speaker: so you get you still have your bonus action of one. Do I? Okay. Um...
Speaker: Alright, and then... So as a bonus action, I'll use... I'll use Charm. Okay.
Speaker: Again. So is that attack minus two? Or what is that? um I have to roll. I have to roll to hit.
Speaker: Oh! This time I got a nine. ah nine? That beats a six.
Speaker: um So attack minus four, yes. a Attack minus four. Alright, he now only has a plus two. Oops.
Speaker: Okay, so. Yeah, because he has Walter's a power band. and my move just ah leveled up. Wait, minus two. Shit, hold on, wait. That was above for a six to a four. Oops.
Speaker: Oh, your move leveled up. Oh, hell yeah. Yeah. So that doesn't seem to do anything because charm doesn't do any damage. Oh, right. i didn't even think about that.
Speaker: The way i have the move level ups go is I have it reference the base power chart and increase it by one. Oh, that's interesting. I don't know. Jake.
Speaker: it
Speaker: God damn it. I was in the middle of talking. Oh, my gosh. it's What did you do this time?
Speaker: So, anyway, takes place a stupid image in the Discord. That ah ne thing again. Yes, that thing again. Uh, so... Has the audience seen the thing?
Speaker: Yes, it was an old version of it. Oh my gosh. Yeah, it's in general. it's this It's the stupid... It's our logo with all the characters on it, except that Hikara has a Giga chat face on instead.
Speaker: my gosh. oh guys So, okay. of course I don't know what i'm gonna do about that, because I can't change that on the fly.
Speaker: That's really interesting. um yeah I don't think we had a good answer for what to do for status moves. I didn't even think about it. We can talk about it later.
Speaker: wait this be yeah i' was gonna say for now right in the uh in the the column uh uh next to us is number of uses just like put a note down that just says like plus one uh to charm or something like that but just note it down somewhere and uh hopefully we remember in the future because yeah i didn't even think about that if i did i didn't remember it ye
Speaker: okay um right it is eli's turn Yeah, so Bruce is going to try once again for StatChecker. Just real quick, take take a glance back at the Spearow.
Speaker: That's a six plus one. Yeah, six plus one, seven. Still still not getting anything. Okay. Bruce is like, okay, well well, Walter just ran downstairs.
Speaker: bru Bruce's first thought when landing on this side very very uncomfortable surface on the deck was, okay, it's flame wheel time.
Speaker: And he is going to just go he is going to go into a flame wheel to go down the steps and just travel across this flashy feeling stuff in flame wheel. Oh, then.
Speaker: Come on. Why? ah ah Okay. So, okay. so But flame wheel's a... Is that an eight to hit?
Speaker: Flame wheel is a six to hit. Oh, you rolled a seven, didn't you? not No, I rolled ah i rolled a seven on my stat checker. Oh, right, were right, right, right. um Yeah, okay. so So I'm trying to just blast my way down the stairs that Walter just went through t like, assuming that there's something down there that probably needs to eat a hit or two. Okay.
Speaker: Alright, so you're heading down there. Well, flame wheeling. Okay. So how does flame wheeling look like as he traveled towards the door that Jake went down? So imagine Sonic, but on fire and red instead of blue. Oh, I actually really like that.
Speaker: that's That's better than what I was thinking. I was thinking you were going cartwheel down the stairs. No, no, it's like Sonic Spin Dash, on know I like that. Yeah, actually I really like that. Okay.
Speaker: Okay, ah so you make it down the stairs, and you are confronted with a big, massive ball. You've heard my description before. It's, you know, big and fleshy.
Speaker: Yeah, he he's gonna just... this He's gonna immediately just, like, do do the the flame wheel jump towards it.
Speaker: Okay. What's up, Jake? Did you hear what you just said? We're all cracking each other up. ah What?
Speaker: You walk in this corner and you see this big ball and it's fleshy. can see how they can out who
Speaker: Okay, Jake.
Speaker: Right. So... Okay, what did you say you were gonna do, Eli? So, I'm gonna, like, do do the thing where they, like, do do the the jump at something while they're, like, flame wheeling.
Speaker: Classic, like, Ash Infernape style thing.
Speaker: Yep, I definitely know what you're talking about. So you're going to try and use flame... Yeah, so I'm using flame wheel on that the the fleshy monstrosity.
Speaker: Yep, I figured as much. ah And if you're curious, I have it written down as the mass. Ah. The fuck is with you guys posting cursed Pikachu pictures?
Speaker: What? piachoo pictures yeah
Speaker: Is that thing? That is horrifying. So go ahead and roll accuracy.
Speaker: Did you roll accuracy already? Well, you didn't roll accuracy on the mass. No, I didn't. No, go ahead and roll accuracy.
Speaker: It's a nine. All right, nine will do it. Okay, so that is 2d6 plus 8. Because this is my first time using Flame Wheel, because I just learned it recently.
Speaker: Okay. alright Apparently, according to my sheet. Or at least this is the first time I've used it since we started keeping track. Oh, okay.
Speaker: Well, that's a 4 and 1, so that'll be 5, 13, plus physical attack going to be fire damage?
Speaker: physical
Speaker: right twenty seven fire damage yeah um okay so 27, 5, all right. Ooh, thank you buddy. Hey, hey. He's laying on my basket, let's move my mask around.
Speaker: Okay, so you said 27, right? Mm-hmm. All right, so that is going to do, oh God, I can't do mask. That's going to do eight damage. You go ahead and you basically spin dash onto this mask and it seems to do nothing.
Speaker: Oh, that's right. There is also a burn chance. Ooh, go for it. We... Ah, yes, light the boat on fire.
Speaker: Nope. That is a g nat one on the effect roll. Nothing happens. Okay. Gotcha. all Alright, so ah it is now time for Spearow who is still up on deck battling with Hikaru. So the Spearow is going to go for another
Speaker: i go for
Speaker: go go for another c Because unfortunately he doesn't have very many good moves for electric type. So, uh... It ain't this guy's fault, but we're wrong with Spiro once we get him to return to normal.
Speaker: Okay. Uh, he's rolled an 8. Is Hikaru holding a held item?
Speaker: Uh, is Hikaru holding held item now? Instrument.
Speaker: No. Okay, so no held item? know that counted
Speaker: okay so no he data Okay, so it does not steal anything from him, but it's gonna do 2d6 plus 8. 2d6, that's a 5, and a 2. So that's 7, 8, 15.
Speaker: so i Does it hit, though? Yes, I rolled a... I think it's an 8. There's a dice on my thing that says 8. I know it hit. oh So... 5, 2, 8, 15 plus physical...
Speaker: aged fifteen loss physical
Speaker: That's cool. That's going to be 29 damage. Oh, and then minus defense is 14. Oh, uh... 14 is my defense. Okay. So back to 15. Oh, okay.
Speaker: All right. ah So she takes 15 damage, right? Yes, and for his bonus action, he's going to use Swagger.
Speaker: Also, you know what? Something I've realized. I'm not gonna retcon it, but ah the Spearow used Swagger on ah Walter as a bonus action, so you should have technically only gotten plus to attack, but it's whatever. No.
Speaker: Right. Also, it should have the confusion effect halved as well. Yeah, probably. We're going to be confused for two turns instead of three, assuming we round up or down there.
Speaker: if If you want, we can make that change. I mean, it doesn't it hasn't taken effect yet, so changing it wouldn't change anything.
Speaker: Jake, that's up to you. I didn't actually make an attack last turn. yeah Jake, I'll leave that up to you. Do you want me to have it? Because you'll only have one turn of being confused, but you will lose plus two attack.
Speaker: Sure. I'm not paying on using my attack anyway. Okay, so set your attack to plus two, and you're only confused for one turn. Which already happened. Which already happened. Yeah, I just realized that too.
Speaker: So you are no longer confused. Okay. Hey. um aunt The reason I was brought up is Swagger is Spira's only bonus action applicable move. So he's going to use Swagger on Hikaru and needs to roll a nine.
Speaker: Rolled a 13. So you are confused for D6 turns, but you get plus two attack. D6 times divided by 2 is 5, which would round down to 2.
Speaker: So you are confused for 2 turns. You get attack plus 2. So the Spearow looks at you and he... How does Swagger work? I mean, the reason I gave Swagger to Spearow is because Jack Sparrow like staggers around. It's not Swaggering, but I thought that was fitting.
Speaker: Because jack's Jack Sparrow is always confused and stuff. and He can be very swaggerish. I don't know. so heat The Spearow's gonna use swagger on you. So, there's that.
Speaker: And... Hikaru goes like... She just starts like... Turning around. Like, walking around. Kind of... Dizzy. um And...
Speaker: slow But also... Hikaru's drunk. So, yeah basically the flavor text for Swagger is that the user enrages the target, leaving them confused about boosting their attack.
Speaker: Ah, okay. You're basically trolling them. That's what it is. You're internet trolling them and making them mad. It's rage bait. Yeah, it is. It's rage bait. That's awesome. It's what you do in Call of Duty. You rage bait them and they play worse in the game.
Speaker: Okay, so she she goes like, uh, you ever see the, um, The Rock Obama on Saturday Night Live skit? No, I have not. i don't watch that scene, I'm sorry. That was funny. So, she does, like, basically, like, Wait, why does she, I'm a Pikachu, why do I sound like that?
Speaker: And then,
Speaker: And then she starts, like, raging, like,
Speaker: Ha ha, you're as weak as a Pikachu. She like wants to pick stu but wants to like pick somebody up and throw them off the dock. Look at the Incredible Hulk over here, at the Incredible Hikaru.
Speaker: oh Here's something you piss off a Pikachu. you go You're just an Emolga clone. You're an Emolga clone. Oh my god, you referenced the fact that he's like the Frenchman from Multi Python. I should just have swagger be that he insults you into rage.
Speaker: Like literal rage baiting.
Speaker: that's Your powers less than S'apar! Try to do French. Okay, alright. It is now time for the mass.
Speaker: That's right. The mass has entered combat. What this, Halo? like the flood? The Mass has entered combat. So... I have a character sheet for The Mass.
Speaker: all Alright. So, The Mass is going to use Iron Defense. Oh, yeah. No Accuracy. Your Defense plus 4.
Speaker: And as a bonus action, it's going to use Amnesia. No Accuracy. Special Defense plus 4. Which will go down to 2 because it's a bonus action.
Speaker: Alright, it is now Jake's turn. Yeah. Uh huh. Um, so how far away am I from the mass?
Speaker: Uh, you'd be like a good like 10, 10, 15 feet. I'm gonna get the far away I can that I know I can throw this. And then I'm gonna throw a TNT at it.
Speaker: Oh god. Okay, you can either go up the stairs or you can go to the other side of the room, which I'll say is like 30 feet away from the mass. yeah Don't forget, Bruce is also close to the mass.
Speaker: You ruined my plan, Bruce.
Speaker: I'm trying to not blow up this ship while we deal with this because this ship is still our ticket to the place after we have bring it back to normal.
Speaker: I'm half tempted to see what a transport orb would do to it. Oh, that'd be interesting. That would be very interesting. You know what? Knowing that they get sold in shops now, I'm not that concerned about the um holding onto it.
Speaker: So, you know what? Walter chucks it at it. Oh god, okay. Alright, so go ahead. Now, do you roll accuracy for it?
Speaker: Go ahead and pull accuracy with the base of 6, I think is what thrown items are. Nat 20. Okay, so normally... Why couldn't you be away? That could have been the TNT!
Speaker: Okay, so I think, okay, so I had an idea, but because you rolled a nat 20, I think I want to do this. Okay. Jake, I want you to pull up a random number generator from one... Oh, wait, what am I doing? i' have a random Pokemon generator. Hold on. I was going last time you did the years.
Speaker: Yeah, you're right, you're right. All right, share your screen. Generator. OK. Yeah, it's the same website as before. right, hold on. Let me find Discord.
Speaker: All right. I swear, if we get a legendary, I'm i'm sorry, guys. Legendaries are included. All right, here we All right. We got a Mega last time. No way there's another power Pokemon.
Speaker: Fully evolved, not all of them. Do you want to take Megas this time? Yeah, Megas and Gigantamax. Take out alternate forms. far as i even I don't know what that means. all Alright.
Speaker: I'm shocked you're allowing legendaries into this just for the fact that there's only supposed to be one. It's a transform orb. It pulls from the entire list. I know. Alright. You guys ready?
Speaker: Yeah. I'm scared. Alright. No way!
Speaker: No way! baby Cyndaquil! Oh my god! It's a Cyndaquil! Oh my gosh, they're go we're going to lose track of who's the Bruce.
Speaker: Oh my god, that's so cute. thats The mass in front of you turns into a crystal Cyndaquil. Well, we're not going to to worry about losing track of who's who.
Speaker: After a second, the Crystal Cyndaquil looks at you, and part of the ship, like, not not a lot of it, but a bit of the flesh on the walls ship gravitate towards the Crystal Cyndaquil and cover it, as if in a protective layer.
Speaker: Interesting. Don't forget to stop sharing. oh Stop sharing. Stop sharing. Oh, what? You're right. that bit breath Thank you. Sorry, I pulled up my character sheet as well.
Speaker: Shit. That's right. So all your stats have to change too now that you're a Cyndaquil. Yeah, you're a Firetuck now. Maybe not. That's the reason it's Crustle. You'll see.
Speaker: Uh, wow. This thing turned into a Cyndaquil when it was a trend from a transfer orb. There's a reason. And I do want point out, it might be little bit scummy, but the item says, Foe transforms into a different Foe. It doesn't say it transforms into a different Pokemon. So, just going point that out.
Speaker: I think that's just straight from the in-game text. Well, it's certainly a different foe now. Alright. Evelyn, it is your turn. You are still up top, I believe.
Speaker: I wish I had bonus actions left.
Speaker: Wait. Oh, right. You don't have any bonus actions. I need a roll for confusion. nope um bitter Do I do that before my turn? Uh, I would do it before Eternia, it would save a lot time. Even means you continue as normal, odd means you... Actually, no.
Speaker: ah Go ahead and choose your move, because the way Confusion works is if it doesn't work, you still have to roll that move. no So, you have to roll that move against you, so... Does the Spear react to anything?
Speaker: With what's going on? ah Okay. Oh, that's a great question. I'll have Kikara roll when I think about that. Um...
Speaker: Because right now it's master is in danger. that's interesting. Um... Did it stats... Did the iron defense... I'm sorry, i was going to say, did the defenses like that the boost he get get reverted?
Speaker: ah you don't know. Yeah, they shouldn't have. don't think they would have.
Speaker: Oh. I'm going to pick... I'll pick Electro... I'll pick Electro Ball again. Okay, so go ahead and roll odds or evens.
Speaker: Odds or evens? For your confusion.
Speaker: Odd. Alright, odd means it hit it it hit to you. Oh, yeah. So go ahead and roll Electro Ball against yourself. Roll Accuracy. You were like, was saying.
Speaker: No, it is that's not how confusion works. I mean you roll for crit. You roll for crit. Yeah, I guess you can roll for crit, but...
Speaker: I don't think you can crit yourself in confusion, but okay. Actually, no, I think you're correct. You can't crit yourself in confusion, but you definitely can't miss in confusion, so... Yeah. Yeah, okay, so just no accuracy roll.
Speaker: I just spent all this time putting my dice up and I don't know why. I just put all my dice up for no reason. good job. okay
Speaker: Okay. so ah Okay. again, that's a 3d8 plus 12. Oh no. Thankfully, it's only taken at half. Okay.
Speaker: Depending on what generation is when, depending if electric can hurt electric pipes. I don't think electric's a new electric unless you have a... It's probably just anime logic.
Speaker: That's a bad roll. Okay, six plus five plus seven is 18. eighteen plus it's ah It's dumb anime logic from Unova. 30 divided by 2 is 15.
Speaker: Oh, jeez. Another 15. That's a big hit. Oh, yeah, you took 15 last time, too. oh no no. That's a lot for Pikachu. I'm down to 20. Oh, jeez. Okay. Bruce, we probably should have both left her, im now realizing. i was kind of expecting her to follow us, but oh, well.
Speaker: but Oh, well.
Speaker: I mean, we we don't know what's going on We're not in that area. Okay. So we're about the you can still use your bonus action, but it will proc a confusion if you choose to use that.
Speaker: Can i but Actually, I don't know that matter because that's a charm. Charm's your only bonus action, right?
Speaker: Charm yourself. I guess you could maybe charm yourself. Is that how we want to do that? Wow, I'm just so beautiful. Yeah, I know. You accidentally pull out a mirror.
Speaker: You fall in love with yourself.
Speaker: In the infatuated condition. That'd be funny. Can I use an item? Yeah, go for it. Alright. Well, I'm going to pull out one of my...
Speaker: Oran Berries. Oh, okay. And roll D8 for HP. Alright. Oh, that's a 5. Nice. let You heal 5 HP.
Speaker: A measly 5 HP. And with that, it is now Eli's turn. Oh, yeah. um Well, this thing is now Cyndaquil.
Speaker: and It is a fleshy crystal Cyndaquil. Yeah.
Speaker: Can I roll something to figure out if it's what what type it is? Uh, what it is Say that again? Yeah, what type it is.
Speaker: Oh, okay, yeah. Did it change type when it transformed? What type is this thing? Sure. With your stat checker, I would say you could do that. Oh.
Speaker: Okay. ah Well, either way, I was thinking it would be a smart roll, so I guess it's still a smart roll either way. Okay. Let's see if I can finally... Okay. It's a 15 plus 1, 16.
Speaker: Finally got a decent smart roll. Hey, there you go. So, a 16 is a full success. What does that say for full success? You learn two of foe's stats. Your choice, ask DM.
Speaker: Okay. Alright, you want to... So I'll give you the two most most interesting ones. the ah So you want to type. ah The type is neutral type.
Speaker: Oh, so it's no type. It's... Yeah. good Yeah. Well, I would assume that's no type. right That is correct. It has type. Yeah, okay. It's HP is 147 currently.
Speaker: Oh boy. Okay. Well, um... Got it. We are then going go for...
Speaker: oh oh boy okay well um yeahtting
Speaker: we are then going to go for
Speaker: ah
Speaker: Oh boy. You know what? I think i'm gonna I'm gonna have to do this. I'm gonna go for a Fury Swipes. Okay.
Speaker: So 14, so it hits. or Oh, that's right. Duh. Roll one d four first and then that's how many... one Yeah, 1d4 plus 1 is how many chances i have. plus Nice, have one hit already from a
Speaker: 17, two hits. Six, that's a miss. 18, three hits.
Speaker: Eight, miss, three hits. Okay. Okay, so that's 1d6 plus three for each hit. So that's 3d6 plus nine.
Speaker: Okay, so is defense calculated against each individual hit or as a total? I'm actually not sure. I think it's each hit.
Speaker: I so think it's each hit. That's how it is i know in all games. Yeah. yep Yeah, it should be each hit. So it'll be plus attack times three minus defense times three. Okay. Okay.
Speaker: It would not be calculated that way because I can tell you. um Each of your attacks is going to do one damage. Oh. What?
Speaker: What? So even what? so oh So it's got more than 23 defense? That is correct. Wow. That's fun.
Speaker: So I guess it doesn't really matter. It does three damage. It has three damage. Huh. Alright. And I do believe you have a spare attack bonus action.
Speaker: Uh, just quick attack. Let's see. Yeah, know. If only there was a really big powerful move that could pierce his defense.
Speaker: Hmm. Yeah, I think I'm going to, uh, I'm gonna look at Walter, be like, Oh boy, this thing is rough.
Speaker: I think I might have to give you permission to do it. And I'm gonna quick attack up to the stairs. All right, things are about to get spicy.
Speaker: cool Okay, so you're on a quick attack up the stairs. It's not an attack, ref I'll just let you do that. So, with that, it is the Spearow's turn. Alright, the Spearow is going to once ahead once again go ahead and attack Evelynn.
Speaker: And it is going to do... but up up that it is simply, because you're already confused, I'm not gonna have to Swagger. So, it is going to use Gust, which is Gust!...accuracy of six.
Speaker: Rolled a 19. So it's gonna do 1d8 plus 6 as damage to you. um
Speaker: So it's going to do 2. Is that physical damage? Uh, So it's going 2 plus 6 is 8. Plus it's special of 11. Did I say 8? 8 plus 11, 19. 19 minus your special defense.
Speaker: Special defense is 14. Alright. Oh. And then it's not very effective. yeah Oh, okay, well there you go.
Speaker: nineteen minutes So, five divided by two. Are we doing, are we rounding? Round down. How are we rounding? It always rounds down. Okay. Okay.
Speaker: He does not have a bonus action that he can use. a Swagger wouldn't do anything to you, I don't think. other than give you extra attack. So I'm going to not use my bonus action.
Speaker: and So Hikaru experiences this as like a gentle wind on oh blowing through her fur. It's like, oh, that actually felt kind of nice. Yes, it was almost refreshing.
Speaker: The mass is going to take its turn and it is actually going to use metronome because it only has three moves.
Speaker: It has iron defense, metronome, and amnesia.
Speaker: So I actually have to pull up course it does. Because it is an agent of chaos. Yep, that's what I was about to say. As any good agent of chaos should do. So I need to, uh, 1 in 935. Random number generator. Should have pulled this out beforehand. Come on, memento. 935. Alright, it is 865. 865 Tickle.
Speaker: nine thirty five it is eight hundred and sixty five eight hundred and sixty five is tickle Those opponents attack and defense by two.
Speaker: It is an accuracy of... Oh wait, I didn't roll accuracy for it. 18, it hits. You don't roll accuracy until you do the move, I think.
Speaker: Okay, well has an accuracy of six, so 18 will hit. So Jake, your attack and defense minus two.
Speaker: That's right. He said he had to step away. I will note that down for him. um So, alright. In that case, ah we are going to... He is going to use ah Amnesia as a bonus action, which will increase his special defense by 2.
Speaker: So now both his defense and special defense are boosted by 4.
Speaker: Hey guys, FutureDakota here. um You're going to notice this episode is really long. That's because this is actually two recording sessions stitched together. The first recording of this was recorded over a month ago, I believe, and we ended up having to end recording for various technical reasons.
Speaker: we didn't get to record it for about a month afterwards because of fourth of july i got really bad strep throat which uh you're going to notice in what's coming up you're going to notice my voice is really like uh not great i so i was still getting over having strep throat so i wasn't like able to laugh correctly my voice was all sorts of fucked up so If you notice anything different about my voice, that's why. I'm sorry it took so long to get this episode out. We have so much going on with the holidays, me getting sick and stuff. so
Speaker: ah With that, what you're about to hear was actually recorded a month after what you just heard. So ah if we forgot anything, please forgive us.
Speaker: I tried my best to keep everything as is, and I'm editing it to the point where should all make sense. So without further ado, I'll let past me take it from here.
Speaker: Okay, ah Jake. Yes. It is. Now your turn, Jake. I am going to throw a TNT at it. I'm going to try to throw it like before the mass surrounds it.
Speaker: Do I even need you to roll accuracy for that? Because has a blast radius of... Roll for crit. Oh yeah, roll for crit. was going to you're throwing it in a closed space. It's not going to miss. Alright, I'm going to close my eyes. I'm not going to look at it. And also...
Speaker: Okay, go for it. Oh my gosh, that was close. It rolled on 20, then rolled off. No, no crit. God, that would have been amazing. It rolled on a crit, and then it rolled on a 14. Okay, yeah.
Speaker: Not a crit, but, I mean, it's not an at-one, which is what counts for this roll. Yes. ah happy Plug my phone in. So... No one would have believed me if I got Kripp here.
Speaker: Okay, so... what's the damage for a bundle of TNT? Right, 10d10. Okay, so go ahead and roll 10d10. Let's just give you a minute.
Speaker: I'm pulling up a site to roll this. Dang, doesn't have 10 physical d10s. I do, but it would take me forever to dig them out.
Speaker: Ah, dang. Actually, hold on. Is this one? No, it's a D8. Hold on. You're making me. All right. Oh, that's a 12. Yeah. Get the physical dice.
Speaker: We got some time. right. No, that's another Here we go. Here's a D10. Here go. Five. That's a two. That's eight. That's
Speaker: back two that's an eight
Speaker: Um, that's another 8. 16. Wait, hold on. You said a 2. That's 7. Fuck, I can't count. Alright. Hold on, just gonna type in. 5. Okay. I'll type it in. 5, 2. I'm typing it in right now, so we'll be able to count.
Speaker: Okay. 5, alright.
Speaker: Shit, two 10s in a row.
Speaker: Ooh, fun. One, two, three, Alright, last roll. Oh, that rolled off.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: So, that'd be a... Okay. So, we got a... Here, I'll let you. it's your turn. You go ahead. two, an eight, a five, a four, a three, two tens, a seven, and four. So...
Speaker: That's math. Okay. I'm gonna pull the pen for that, I don't trust you. thirty four 30, 40... You see, we wouldn't have to do this if I didn't get baited.
Speaker: We'd have this immediately. Alright, 58. Exactly. Eli is correct. 58 damage. Just barely above, um... barely above the average. Yeah.
Speaker: Okay. So, you throw this TNT at the Crystal Cyntaquil in the middle of the room, and things happen.
Speaker: First thing, i would... Can you write the description for that TNT? Because I think I put a blast radius here. you just gave me damage.
Speaker: Oh, I could have sworn I gave you a blaster radius for it. Because there was a caveat about being too close to the blast. Okay. um Excuse me. So, what in that case, what going to say, you throw this TNT. You're still, like, a good, what, like, 20 feet away from crystal. Well, it doesn't blow up immediately. I was going to try to run.
Speaker: Okay, okay, okay. let's ah Let's say it has a wick on it. Yeah, yeah. Okay, so you throw this TNT. I'm gonna give you like a good quick movement action before it blows up. Do you still have quick attack?
Speaker: No. He only has punchy moves, remember? i only punchy moves. Can I try to like jump and force palm and try to get like a boost out of it? You're gonna like side air out of the arena. I'm gonna try to, um... I'm gonna one one piece, jump on one piece, is' like double jump this.
Speaker: yeah Okay. Go ahead. I love that. Go ahead and roll me acrobatics. Yeah, acrobatics. Oh, okay. Acrobatics. And that's under, um... Cool.
Speaker: Why gotta be cool? Why can't it be tough? Ugh. Alright, um, 19. 19.
Speaker: Oh hell yeah, a 19. Okay, so with a 19 you are able to... trying to remember, what is Lucario's side B in Smash Melee? Isn't it just literally force pump?
Speaker: I think it is. Okay, so it's actually just a force pump. Okay, I did remember. but Okay, so yeah, you pretty much... It's just like a... whoo you just force palming over and over and over and over upstairs.
Speaker: Which isn't any faster than running. No question, does this does this count as number of uses?
Speaker: and You don't have force palms. Yeah, I do. to you? You do? It's my fifth move. fifth actually like with move Okay, I'll give you, a yeah, yeah, since you're using Force Palm over and over, i will give that to you. Go ahead and add, uh, four counters to Force Palm. Alright, that's cheese, but... Hey, you guys never... You guys never tried using it out of battle, I will say. That is true.
Speaker: I do feel like I need to come up with something for that, because you can't just have you guys using Electro Ball 15 times. about Oh, look at that! My prop! Me and Hikaru just exclusively move around to using Quick Attack.
Speaker: Yeah, um... would Probably make it like a training check to even give it to you.
Speaker: Uh, yeah, I think I would have a separate thing for if you guys use it out of battle, but I like the creativity of what you did here, I'll reward you for that. ah Since apparently I've forgotten what inspiration is so. ah You managed to side-B your way up the stairs, and you meet up with- You know what's funny? This levels it up.
Speaker: Of course. Okay, well that's why I gave it a four. I thought it started at one, so I thought that might have leveled it up. Yep. does it start So, there you go. Your Force Palm got increased damage.
Speaker: Wait, do they start at 1? Then I need change some numbers if they all started at 1. I believe they started at 0. I mean, your number of uses just started at 0, but you might have used it in the past, I don't know. Oh, you're right.
Speaker: I do have... All my all besides my um Ice Punch have number of uses in it, because don't use Ice Punch barely ever. Oh, yeah. Which is really weird because I feel like Ice would be super effective against most of the Pokemon. Well, it was before we went 4.4.
Speaker: Where I used it against the dragons. Okay, clear face, that's before you upgraded to 4.4. I played sure 4.4 has been out for like months and months now. know what, I know what.
Speaker: Yeah. Okay, so, uh, you meet up with Eli at the top, and as at this point, you guys don't hear anything.
Speaker: What you notice is you guys are suddenly deaf. You can't hear anything because you guys are flying backwards into the, uh, being flung into the ocean, and your eardrums have completely burst. You guys have detonated a bomb about 50 feet away from you. And ah Walter and Eli are getting flung into the ocean.
Speaker: Kikaru, you are close enough to get affected by the blast. You get launched back onto the docks. You do not get affected as much you do not get as affected as much as the others do, so you only get flung back as far as the docks.
Speaker: ah The captain comes flying with you. um The ship is in tatters. It is starting to sink. There is a massive hole in the ship now. as it is You know, I just remembered we were supposed to use this ship.
Speaker: Um, well... Yeah, that's yeah that's real unfortunate. we don't know if this is, like, the real ship, though, because... That's true. The ship had some real funky stuff going on with it, so that's true okay i will calculate damage now you did 58 damage correct uh 52 i i'm gonna take that as physical damage uh what is 58 minus 34. i know you guys knew defense already any stats added on to that 34. oh do i add my attack to it i'll just know
Speaker: I don't think so. i did it last I'm pretty sure it's just a used item. Yeah, it's an item. Because it doesn't rely directly on your strength. It relies on the item itself. um Okay, hold on. It does, what is that, 34 damage.
Speaker: two is a mass and gonna say since uh you guys were somewhat caught in the blast you guys are going to take a quarter damage of that which is uh 29 divided by two wait what it oh uh quarter 58 58 which it should be minus here to be 14
Speaker: Rounded down? Uh, 29... Yeah, rounded down 14. 14 minus your defense. I take no damage. So everyone takes... Everyone, all the co-hosts, take 14 damage. Minus your defense. Dang! 14, so I get minus 1, because 1 is the minimum.
Speaker: Oh, yeah. Right, I also take 14 minus 14 damage. Oh my god, I didn't realize that was his current health. Holy fuck, you guys are in trouble. Uh... Okay. Okay.
Speaker: I'm guessing he's still up. Yeah, you forgot that you gave this guy over 100 health and then expected 10d10 to take him out.
Speaker: Hey, there's more than one way to solve a battle. mean, if I crit it, it probably would have. So... Okay, so what you guys see in front of you, I'll hand it over to you guys in a second. As the ship is sinking, the the spiritual energy, like the wispiness around the ship, has it's it hasn't dissipated. it is just no longer around the ship. The crystal cyndaquil is bobbing in the water. road And ah the captain is flopped onto the deck. So...
Speaker: car and the captor together and walter are together in the water away from the syndical crystal cinder qui what the heck just happened it you just hear in distance where wait
Speaker: walter like screaming tired yeah what we're also daafed true bruce is also like frantically trying to swim towards the shore.
Speaker: Oh, i I should say, you guys are temporarily disengaged from battle. You guys can of re-engage battle we'll keep initiative, but you guys can do whatever. Oh, okay. We'll swim to the docks, I guess.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah, Bruce is trying to frantically swim towards the dock while also like reeling from hearing loss.
Speaker: no Okay. Yeah, you guys managed to get back to the shore just fine. You guys don't have any trouble swimming or anything, unless you have it, like, in your character that you can't swim. Nope. I mean, we we have it that Bruce hates water. We never said that he can't swim.
Speaker: Oh, yeah, that's true. I forgot about that whole thing with, like, the water dome in Gale Beach and the train station. Yeah, he just he still doesn't like that subway station, but... the Okay, I'll let you deal with that how are you want. Okay, uh, feel like Probably should roll, like, Constitution, I think. Okay. steve All right, see if he can withstand the will of the ocean.
Speaker: uh-oh. Uh-oh. That's a 7 plus 1, 8. Walter will help you. Walter will help him. Yeah, it so yeah and Bruce is, like, struggling swimming here. Can help him to give him advantage? Uh, sure. Go ahead and roll. Won't that be, like, Strength or Dexterity?
Speaker: Whatever you need to- whatever your swimming skill would be. I would help the athletics, I would think, should be tough. Yeah, actually, athletics makes no sense. Yeah. Are you guys coming to land near Hikaru?
Speaker: Bruce is just trying to get to whatever land is closest to him. Uh, 16.
Speaker: Okay, yeah, yeah, you can carry Bruce pretty easily. Just like he used to carry Sammy. Yeah, if I can carry Sammy, I can carry Bruce.
Speaker: Bruce is only, what, like 20 times lighter than Sammy was? Yeah, and that that was and that was upstairs.
Speaker: Okay, so after some time you guys manage to make it back to the docks. It is... Now all three of you guys are together, you two are soaked, and the captain is on the deck with you, although he is not actively doing anything. Oh my gosh, boys, boys, are you alright?
Speaker: He's faking! Attack the crystal! The crystal? Wait... He's pointing to the crystal, spawning the water. is that crystal thing? Oh, I can't- yeah, Hikaru hasn't seen it. So, uh, yeah, Hikaru, you can now see the crystal Cyndaquil in the water. It is like- It's controlling the shadows! I don't know if it's glowing or not, but that's fun. What is that thing?
Speaker: Hit it before the stuff starts surrounding it again. okay I better do that. Um, let me- It's in the water. You should be so you'd be super effective in the water.
Speaker: Yeah, but super effective against a crystal Cyndaquil? Oh no, it'd be hard for you to miss. If we use the same anime logic of Pikachu soaking a mud stale so this electric dart moves can listen be effective.
Speaker: Yeah, listen. okay If Ash can soak an onyx and make that actually affect an onyx then, that should work. Alright, that works. Um, okay. well Go ahead and roll damage for it then. do Are you wanting to re-engage battle? yes Yeah, yeah.
Speaker: I'm gonna... So I'm gonna go at it with a, uh... An electro ball? Okay. I wonder if its defenses are this ho yeah says high, even without the mucus surrounding it.
Speaker: Yep, go ahead and roll defense. What am I saying? Accuracy. Oh no! ah I'm gonna have to re-roll that because it fell on...
Speaker: I have like three d20s ready in case I drop a dice, just so i don't have to go and pick it up. sir
Speaker: It fell on my floor. Okay.
Speaker: You guys, I got a g nat 20. Did you do it? hey Hey, hey, nice. Okay, perfect. All right. Nice. Go ahead and roll damage.
Speaker: Damage. Okay. So that's Electro Ball. it does make it more effective.
Speaker: I'm so glad it doesn't get picked up by some castor. What is it? Crystal? For the audience, Eli's using his soundboard on Discord. just did the air horn because, you know, nat 20. Got use the air horn with the nat 20. For once, it's not Jake using the soundboard.
Speaker: So the normal dice for that is 3d8 plus 12. And so what's what's that? It'll be like max of that plus another damage die, right? Yep.
Speaker: Yeah. 36 plus one damage die, which is one d eight
Speaker: Five! So 41 plus special attack. special damage That's 13. So is it 54 total?
Speaker: Oh my god, you did as much damage as Jake's dynamite. oh Literally almost as much damage as TNT. YAY! Oh my Okay, 54. Now the question is, does he make it super effective because the Crystal Syndiquil is soaking wet?
Speaker: Okay, there is an effect in play, I cannot tell you guys what it is. So, with a... you said 54... Okay, give me a second to do some math. 54 minus Vessel Defense.
Speaker: Okay, okay, you actually met- so you hit this Cyndaquil with an Electro Ball and you can tell this has done a lot of damage.
Speaker: The Crystal Cyndaquil gets pushed further back into the ocean. It is not currently trying to swim but you can see it's like waving its arms around around trying to do something. Is it surrendering?
Speaker: up ah yeah it's got a little wave flag that's like how you resurrender so okay uh is everyone engaging in battle is there anyone who does not wish to join the battle bruce is spending a little bit of time just coughing up water on the shoreline whatever i think okay all right jake what about you he's going over to pick up his armband
Speaker: Okay, uh, well, uh, I know, but I don't know if that i don't know if that counts him as in battle, but he's doing, he's trying to do that. No, no, no, you can do that outside of battle. Uh, go ahead and roll in, uh, investigation. Yeah, investigation, you're looking for something specific.
Speaker: oh Um, that's test, test. Oh my god. I'm glad we got Craig rolling because my audio is not recording in Zencaster. Oh no. Oh, Jesus. Yeah, i just I just looked over to monitor. oh It's fine. We've got Craig in here. It's 14.
Speaker: Yeah. Hikaru just, like, jumps for joy. like, You said
Speaker: fourteen um okay that's right on the cusp of what i want to tell you You see multiple red objects floating in the ocean that could be a power band amongst the debris of the ship.
Speaker: No, no, that doesn't make any sense. just remember where the power band is. I was looking at the crow. No. No, no, no, i remember what happened to your power band. Disregard. So, yeah with 14, yeah, so with 14, it's still, you can see, it's still on the Spearow's neck.
Speaker: I'm yanking it off. He's holding in his hand, because he thiefed it off. I'm yanking it back. or Okay, so you go up to this, uh... girl And Spearow's like, what are you doing? Give me that. This is mine.
Speaker: I have no idea what his voice was for. No, this is mine. And he just like tugs it back. And it's like a classic back and forth. No, it's mine. No, this is mine. My guy is like ice punching like a thunder punch threatening him right now. He's like, give it back, you motherfucker.
Speaker: Like, say go ahead and roll intimidation against his, what, constitution? Nope. There's no fucking way you got nat 20. Take back my fucking arm, man. Alright, well, it doesn't matter what he rolled. He rolled a four, opposed. So, unless he's got a plus 17 in something. So he's like, James, alright, alright, alright, alright. Fucking take it, jeez, good god. He hasn't done enough damage as it is.
Speaker: ah I guess need i need and he like his eyes like glaze over and as the wisps of like the the tendrils the wisps the fucking shadowy nonsense surrounds him and his eyes glaze over and he's like I need to hurt you.
Speaker: Okay, so he's going to go for a thief on you and he is going to... see that's a five. He is going to... yeah, with an accuracy of requirement of six, he is going to lunge for the power band in your hand in your hand and he's like, I need to hurt you. He just lunges forward and it just falls flat on his face.
Speaker: Clearly still disoriented from the explosion. um all right uh next in combat we've got somebody because i put my notes away all right the next is the crystal syndaquil who is going to ah as you see from the water he starts to rise up like float a little bit above the water and he is going to go for it a metronome aimed at i don't think it has
Speaker: an aimed thing. met but or At least Metronome doesn't aim until it's used when it's used in its multiple opponents. Okay.
Speaker: Okay, well, if it if it's a single turret, he's gonna go for Walter because he blew him up. okay ah Fair enough. Oh my god, wait, I forgot. I gotta roll D move. How many are there? 935? God damn, I forgot about this. Rolladie.com, come back to me.
Speaker: Alright, what did i say? 935? Alright, we got move 172. Which is... 172 Disarming voice. Uh-oh. It is very tight move. ignores accuracy.
Speaker: which it is
Speaker: yeah one seventy two is disarming voice oh it is a very tight poof me and it ignores accuracy It ignores accuracy and evasiveness. Which is funny because it forgotten which is funny cause I forgot to roll accuracy.
Speaker: ah Why? So many fairy moves. Okay, it is a power base power of 4.
Speaker: At least it's a weak. Yeah, it's 1d8 plus 6. So, oops, that's a d4. Where am I getting each? That's it. we myug that's it uh he got a seven plus six is 13 plus his what is disarmament so special special special thresholdho attack what did i say he rolled 13 13 13. he's going to do 25 damage minus your special defense times two all right so 25 minus 14 is 11 so it does 22 damage
Speaker: 22 damage. That's a pretty big chunk. Yeah.
Speaker: Still above half. I'm not bloody yet.
Speaker: and he is going to pass his bonus action because he has enough defense and i need this battle to end someday so so he is going to do nothing cause that's his turn so next up uh jake are you are you engaging in the battle oh yes or no yeah you did because yeah yeah so you're up next the won't use them won't use betronome the statue
Speaker: The statue, yes, the Crystal Cyndaquil. Alright, uh, yeah, suck another TNT, bitch.
Speaker: Oh my god, you're gonna throw another TNT? You used fairy move on me, I'm pissed.
Speaker: Now, before you throw out TT, I do actually want to ask something. Uh, your death, I just remembered your death. Did you react to what the, Spear was saying to you? My death, what did I say again? Wait minute.
Speaker: Does Disarming Voice- so like is yeah Wait need a minute. That's actually a good point. Wait, what? Disarming Voice is a sound-based move.
Speaker: Does it affect somebody who's deafened?
Speaker: Ooh, I like that logic actually. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah! Well done, though. Fair point. do you like that in logic actually. ah Oh, i will it does say I need a roll for crit.
Speaker: 6. Uh, yeah. So, okay, so... Right, so you're gonna throw another TNT. How far away is this Syndiquil? Uh, I wanna say it's like a good, like... 50 feet away from me? Like, it's a distance. It is well was out of melee range. It was out on the boat, and then it got blasted even further out to sea, so... Oh no, does that tough... It's like, not close.
Speaker: don't you wanna see an accuracy of like 8? You wanna see an accuracy of 8?
Speaker: Uh, just an accuracy of 6. It has a blast radius, so it's honestly gonna be pretty hard to miss. Even at that range. You need to hit somewhere within like a 20 foot radius of this.
Speaker: Hard to miss even at that distance. I wanna let you know this. You used a fairy type on me, so this is your fault that I crited on this.
Speaker: Did you actually crit? Oh my god. So, that's actually a... You don't... You don't bury time Walter without this... Wait, hold on.
Speaker: oh my god, that's max damage die plus one. That's 100 damage plus a d10. Holy crap! That's 6, so what Oh my god! 106 damage! is the move that one-shot a group of 5 dragon type Pokemon, so yes.
Speaker: If you crit, this one-shots group of 5. Okay, hey, hold There's 3 dragon types. Alright, yeah. Okay, do everyone want to ca- Yeah, I'm still gonna calculate defense. Uh, minus 24 bits. It does something 90. 86, 82. Oh my Okay, so...
Speaker: oh thank god okay so The- as you throw this t- you know i want you to describe it. How do you kill it with a standee? You hit it dead on, like impact it directly. Walter like lights it with his flame. He's like- he's like- the guy like talks to him, he's what'd you say about that? And he's gonna skip it like a rock to the- you know like just arm back and like skip it like a rock where it doesn't hit the um fuse but it just keeps twirling as it skips towards the crystal.
Speaker: i like that so yeah the tnt hits its mark and you just hear the biggest deafening explosion which you actually don't because i keep forgetting you're deaf so what happens is you hear nothing you see a blinding explosion which doesn't actually blind you but it's very bright cool cool guys that look an explosion just So actually something interesting happened. You see the explosion go off, but you see a secondary explosion as all of the energy contained within this crystal syndaquil also detonates, compounding into one enormous like nuclear explosion that detonates in the ocean.
Speaker: Suddenly, you guys are staring down a tsunami. You guys have one turn to deal with this. What do you do? ah um wait so there's c4 in the syndaquil no it was just there was energy latent energy in the syndaquil that got yeah you know um question the thing that energy does go boom that's a good thing i didn't um destroy good thing i didn't do enough damage while i was in the ship
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah, you guys are plenty far away. Did not damage you guys. Yeah, question. Does the... Does the Spearow look better now?
Speaker: So, funny you say that the Spearow... Excuse me. As the explosion goes off, a couple things happen. Excuse me. Sorry. A couple things happen. Uh, the mist around Spearow dissipates and it looks normal.
Speaker: For a second. Long enough for... Evelyn, which I'm so fucking glad you can hear because that would have really ruined this for me. ah um So only Evelyn hears this.
Speaker: You hear the Spiros say, you broke the soul crystal before disintegrating into dust. Oh, It doesn't well faint. It doesn't die. It gets fucking Thanos snapped out of existence as soon as the crystal Cyndaquil vanishes.
Speaker: oh Oh boy.
Speaker: Hikaru just like surprise Pikachu face times three. And, uh, yeah, so you guys destroyed soul crystal? Question mark? What's that? I don't know. But what you do know is there's a fucking tsunami about to wreck your world.
Speaker: You guys have one action. Go. Okay. Okay, what do we do? Never mind, you guys can't hear. yeah did Do I have to, like... Yeah, Bruce will go and into his, uh...
Speaker: um what? instinctive Instinctive defensive position of Flame Wheel just coat himself in flames, make them like extremely hot, hope that he can evaporate enough water around him.
Speaker: But Ruz is on pure instinct right now. Okay, so we're going to Alright, so we're gonna deal with that when the water reaches you. ah Jake and Hikaru, what do you guys do?
Speaker: Oh boy. Maybe try to envelop myself in and Like an improvised... I'm gonna try to do like an improvised electro web, but basically using using electro ball around myself.
Speaker: Okay, so you're trying to create like an electrical shield around yourself. Yeah. Okay, go ahead and roll. Ooh, what's a good roll for that? Um... Hmm. looking at... Performance? What would be a good roll for it?
Speaker: Performance? Yeah, yeah, let's go performance. Yeah, I like that. Okay. go ahead and roll performance.
Speaker: It's a three. Okay, we will deal with that when the water reaches you. Jake, what do you do? Uh, well, first, so look, is there any items I got left after where you got disintegrated?
Speaker: ah on the Spearow? Yeah. No, the Spearow and everything, he was a part of his gun. Alright, um, alright, well, I'm just gonna jump and keep force-pumping in the air until the, um, water passes me. Okay.
Speaker: um I'm sorry, I can't laugh normally. Oh fucking Christ. So you're going to... excuse me You're going to up air. you you You figured out the trick last time. So you're going to up air over the tsunami. You're going to jump over the tsunami. Go ahead and roll... f What would that be? What did I have to last time? Athletics? Acrobatics.
Speaker: Acrobatics, yeah. Go ahead and roll acrobatics.
Speaker: Um, acrobatics, is that cool again? I need to start remembering everything. Cool, 20. Unnatural 20. It's written right on your paper sheet. I know, know. Unnatural 20.
Speaker: Oh, hell yeah. Okay. So, we're going to go in the same order. Everything was rolled in. Eli, ah you said you used fire to try and sear the water away as I hit you. Evaporate.
Speaker: I'm thinking, but you know, just super hot flame wheel evaporate any of the water that gets close to me. Okay, did I have you roll for that? No, you didn't. Okay, go ahead and roll performance. Roll performance.
Speaker: Oh,
Speaker: uh oh that's a nine minus one eight okay so okay so what happened i'm gonna group you and hikaru together since you both technically had fails yeah the water hits both of you guys and you guys are swept up towards shore in this tsunami like this is the most powerful thing you have ever felt this is an unstoppable force uh You guys get swept onto shore and it sweeps you upwards, not into the wall of the dock, but you guys get swept upwards and you get blasted through houses and this tsunami just keeps going for like a good three blocks before letting up. Weren't like already on the dock?
Speaker: Yeah. You guys were on like a pier, yeah like on the dock. Yeah, so you guys were like down lower on the water, but the town like, you know, is up on land. So you guys got lifted like up onto land and the tsunami is wrecking havoc on this town. awesome After about like three blocks of devastation, the tsunami comes to a close and you guys are fainted. You guys are just passed out for now. ah So... Woo, that could've been bad. um
Speaker: You guys have just been smashed around the smithereens. We will figure out what happens in a bit. um Jake, you ah you managed to jump over the tsunami.
Speaker: and this is honestly the most effective solution so far you've managed to jump over the over the tsunami and you see as the water passes below you this enormous like how tall are tsunamis like 100 feet
Speaker: Mayberry. Alright, a tsunami-sized wave. And eventually you come down. There's tons of water everywhere. So you land in water. But after the wave. So it's like the water's still moving.
Speaker: But like towards shore. But it's not like you got blasted by the tsunami. So you gently get swept onto shore. and you do not take any damage from the tsunami uh you see this tsunami just destroying this town and you got you do not see uh uh bruce or so interesting thing here most tsunamis hit land at less than 10 feet high extreme cases can exceed 100 feet interesting i think most of it's definitely more than a 10 feet tsunami
Speaker: Yeah, this is also probably because they generally like start forming on the sea floor, and this one formed from an explosion on the surface.
Speaker: Yeah, I definitely planned it that way. Alright, what's going to like, huh. Yeah.
Speaker: So you find yourself, ah you like, uh, gain your senses back, you're able to stand up as the water washes away. You are in the middle of like the first block of destroyed houses. if You're in the debris of a destroyed house.
Speaker: Walter's like, huh. As he's gonna like, he's gonna put his hands like in his non-existent pockets and just start walking and looking for the group. Like, oh boy, ooh.
Speaker: He's like, oh my god, what happened?
Speaker: So, as you get up and start walking around, you just see this devastation. um o ah Go ahead and roll me per perception.
Speaker: See how much you how much of this destruction you notice. That's a 10. A 10, okay. stepped in as' a ten
Speaker: okay So, pretty much everything's destroyed. ah One thing you notice is there are a lot of... There were people near the dock.
Speaker: And when this devastation hit, you see a lot of what you presume are fainted Pokemon around. ah You see a lot of the dock workers that were there are unconscious on the ground, unsure if they're dead or not.
Speaker: You do not see Hikaru or Bruce.
Speaker: um i just had a funny idea if i just kept returning all of them but no um if you kept what if i just returned them all and they just kept falling into the into the um flame how the flame um flames um oh that badge them away all of the faded people away would that be would be kidnapping um Yeah, probably. Walter is gonna like, he'll not help the adults, but if there's like a person with a kid, he'll help.
Speaker: Uh, sure. Let's say there's, um, what's a good baby Pokemon? Cleffa. Besides the real, though. Um, what was it? Cleffa. Cleffa, yeah, yeah, there's a Cleffa, like, near a Cleffa.
Speaker: You can see that it was, uh, uh, no, no, I'm gonna say, okay, so there's a Cleffa, um, that is passed out, and there is a Cleffa shaking the body of the Cleffa. It's clearly a kid trying to wake the, uh, unconscious parent. He'll run up you like, hold on, kid, I got this, as he'll give the, um, reviver seat to the parent.
Speaker: Okay, uh, I'm gonna try and avoid having to do a voice for the Clefah, because- Just use your voice. I'm still getting more strict. I cannot do high-pitched voices. It's Dakota the Clefairy.
Speaker: it Yes, hello, it is I, the Clefah. i So you give the Clefairy a Reviver Seed.
Speaker: uh or you you give the clef the one that's knocked out the parent to help so the kid can okay i didn't know if you handed it to the clef okay um so you try administering this uh clefairy a reviver seed um it's not doing anything what the um
Speaker: ah and That explains it, otherwise the- my- Hikaru and Bruce's, um, seed would pop. Yeah, it was about to ask about that. What happens with the- the reviver seeds that Hikaru and Bruce have in their bags?
Speaker: Yeah. Uh, do you guys have reviver seeds? I have too. I have a tiny reviver seed. okay okay so i'm gonna say you guys get passed out as you guys are like barreling through those houses and stuff after like a minute or two your guys's reviver seeds will activate and you guys revive from the dead and uh you you guys are well i've said you guys are like three blocks down yeah you can finish with this the devastation Uh, yeah, so you guys are alive, but yes, let's finish with Jake. Walter's gonna, like, try to pick up it and like, alright, kid, we'll find a hospital, don't worry.
Speaker: Okay, so you're just taking this Cleffa with you? Cleffa's, like, riding on your back. That's cute. I like that. That is Walter, that is the one way you ever would get to Walter is with a kid. Okay, so, um, let's say the hospital's on...
Speaker: I don't think he would know where the hospital is. ah So you're looking for a hospital? um That or any first responders.
Speaker: Ooh, that's a good point. I'm gonna say, yeah, yeah. So with this destruction, it brings the attention of a lot of people from the safe side of town. And you see a like a bunch of Pokemon. There's like a Salamence marching down the road.
Speaker: There's Blaziken sprinting towards the destruction. There are people showing up to give help or see the destruction. Help, there's a lot of people not ah down on the coast.
Speaker: They hear you yell that and they start running toward past you like towards the unconscious bodies. Okay, not the one I'm carrying, okay. Alright, I'll take it. like Is there like a um station they're set up with for um victims?
Speaker: ah Not yet, as the destruction just happened. So there's not look a dedicated station set up. He'll ask where the hospital is. He'll yell, like, where's the hospital for him? Uh, yeah, a crab- I don't want big Pokemon, but a crab-bominable shows up. He's like, uh, yeah, yeah, yeah, uh, hospital, hospital. Uh, for this little girl, a- For the parent, too. For the parent, too. I'm carrying the parent as well.
Speaker: oh where's- where's the parent here? I'll- I'll help out. Where- where's this parent? I'm holding them. I said I'm carrying the parent, and then you- Oh, you're carrying both. Yeah. Oh, I thought you were just carrying the club your back. No, carrying both. I'm not gonna separate a kid from its parent.
Speaker: Okay, okay, so he sees you carrying both of them he's like, oh, okay. Hospital, technically, is on the other side of town. What happened here? I don't know. One of the... You know that Spearow guy?
Speaker: The Spearow captain?
Speaker: are you talking about ah Captain Jack? Yeah, I don't know. His ship blew up. His ship blew up? What, was he carrying me like a fucking payload of dynamite or something? I don't know. it just blew up.
Speaker: it was it was weird it was alt some shadow things was happening some tangles are happening like this some weird things are going on in shipping and then it just blew up for no reason yeah that's a bit above my pay grade you want me to send you over to the cops explain stuff to them you can take the kid
Speaker: Uh, yeah, I'll take what the hospital. Uh, by the way, the hospital's over on the other side. It's, it's, uh, not near here, so. we I'll, I'll rush him over to the hospital. Oh, if you see a Pikachu or a, um, Cyndaquil, tell them I went to the hospital. They're my friends and I can't find them.
Speaker: Uh, alrighty, then if they were caught up in this and, uh, you're heading to the hospital, you're heading away from them, so. You won't see head to the police right now.
Speaker: You want to talk to the police? The police are showing up. I'll go talk to the police and like get and like give the kid and like the the parent to someone else. yeah ah yeah He'll you'll go to the cops. a Time to get the story straight.
Speaker: Okay, so there's an Arcanine showing up and there's a Stoutland. I'm going to say they have like little badges on their chest or something. So they see you, you're clearly like a witness to what happened. It's like, hey there, citizen. Can you tell us what happened here? oh This is the Stoutland talking.
Speaker: Shut up, shut up, for shut up, Eli.
Speaker: Yes, I'll be posting it for every time. He's all right, he's like, right. we We're in the dock and we were um going to a ship because we wanted like a charter to the town, to another town.
Speaker: And then this, you know, the Spearow, Captain Spearow, Captain Sparrow, Yeah, Captain Jack usually what we call him. He's a bit of a troublemaker. Believe it, we're familiar. What happened? well We got there and he was like super weird. it looked like he had shadows on him or he just painted himself black.
Speaker: i don't know. Oh, shadows. Yeah, he's doing blackface. yeah He like cocks his head and he was like, okay, is this some like psychic type stuff? for oh We don't know. all we We got there and then he started like He started attacking people in the dock, and then next time we know, his ship blows up for no reason. And then ah tsunami, and I only got out of it because I mean i can force palm and like project myself up.
Speaker: Wait, so you're telling me Okay, okay. So, what I'm getting at is you were talking to him, and he was acting funny, and his ship exploded. Well, we weren't... Am I getting it right? Well, you tried talking him, but then he just started attacking us and other people in the dock.
Speaker: Do you believe she was carrying any kind of weaponry on board? ah I guess he had to if it blew up. Okay, okay. He's like writing on a notepad. I've seen criminals use TNT, which is so devastating and awful to use, but that seems so much stronger.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah. Do you know of any other witnesses that have seen the devastation? My friends, but I can't find them. I was able to dodge them, but they got hit by the big wave. And what are your friends? um is One is a Bruce, and he's a Cyndaquil, and when a Hikaru, and she's a Pikachu.
Speaker: Alright, one's a Bruce, and one's a Hikaru. Got it. I don't...
Speaker: it Yeah, picked up one. You're pissing me off, man. You're pissing me off.
Speaker: We may need another explosion. Okay. Okay. Right. So, okay. I will keep an eye out. Is there any way I can contact you?
Speaker: ah Do you have a mailing address I can send you send a letter to? Flame... How you say it? I can't remember the last name. It's been so long. Flameback? Yeah, Flameback Residence. I work there. It hasn't been that long. I work there.
Speaker: i i used to work down. with I'm on vacation. Alright, if we ever get a note of a Cyndaquil and a Pikachu named Bruce and Kiharu, we'll send notice for you and you can come check them out.
Speaker: Thank you. Alright. Appreciate your time. I'm gonna go look my for my friends.
Speaker: Okay, ah so it with this, I'm gonna cut over to Hikaru and Bruce. You guys wake up pretty much next to each other. I'm gonna say at the same time for a convenience site.
Speaker: Oh, what happened?
Speaker: So Hikaru just like... Bruce, you're still deaf. Oh. Oh. Hikaru just like... Well, yeah if you're deaf, you can still talk. yeah You'll just be shouting.
Speaker: mean And Hikaru does not know that Bruce is down. Hikaru has spits it out like water in her mouth and she she opens her
Speaker: and she's like and she just like spits it out like She just like blows the water out of her mouth, you know what? um yeah As she's like lying there.
Speaker: um And then she and then she like slowly sits up and and like shakes her head really rapidly to like back and forth to like um sort of shake out all the tiredness or whatever.
Speaker: um Basically, she's acting like a cartoon character that just woke up. from coma or something.
Speaker: um and And she turns around and she sees Bruce and and she says, Bruce, are you all right?
Speaker: i So that's going to be really hard to explain on an audio medium. But Bruce does like the, um like points at his ears and does like that the slashing motion, like with his hands being like, a no can hear.
Speaker: the Okay, you're deaf. You didn't turn into a caveman. No, like, don't talk. Me can't hear. Me can't hear, dude. Like, he's not gonna say anything because he's deaf and cu doesn't know what Hikaru saying.
Speaker: Me not think good. Oh, okay. Can he not, like, read lips? I don't think it's a common skill. That's a lot harder than you think it is. I can't read lips, so I'm going to say Bruce can't read lips.
Speaker: Okay. If it was a common skill, that'd be so much easier for blind deaf people. That'd be so much easier for anyone, because I could just hear what anyone's saying in a crowded space. Yeah.
Speaker: That'd be very handy skill, actually. It is an incredibly handy skill. I'm not sure how exactly one learns it, though. Uh, you learn the lip language, obviously. It's how you read the lip.
Speaker: yeah Yes. Okay. So... Okay. And then Hikaru starts, like, flapping her... wait Wait a second. You can't hear me, can you?
Speaker: how many How many fingers am I holding up? She holds up, like, four fingers.
Speaker: Four? Four?
Speaker: Okay, uh... Also holds up four- Bruce also holds up four fingers? Okay. It's like talking E.T. It's like when you do the finger, like, circling things for the E.T.
Speaker: Hey, wait a minute. Bruce doesn't have fingers. has a nub. Shh. He doesn't have fingers? Wait, hold on. That's true, wait. Pikachu's also only have three fingers on each hand, I think. No, I'm pretty sure. let me see.
Speaker: Four. I mean, she can hold up multiple hands. I think we actually have five. He just holds up all his limbs. He just rolls on his back. Let's have both four paws. I wish I could laugh normally. This is painful. It's... Oh no!
Speaker: Okay. think there's an artist that gave Cyndaquil hands? With fingers? I don't know. oh Oh no, I don't wish to see that. Okay. But Pikachu has five fingers on each hand.
Speaker: Really? yeah no there you go Okay. i click so
Speaker: One is a Bruce.
Speaker: Just reading off the Discord. Oh yeah. Okay. Okay. So just to be absolutely clear, you can't hear me, right?
Speaker: He puts his hands up and like shrugs like, e kiss I don't know what you're saying.
Speaker: you're You're sure? you you're You're absolutely sure you can't hear me, right? You're sure? Is this how the first deaf person got talked to? so is ah ju Okay. Bruce is trying to come up with any other ways that he can convey the fact that he is currently deaf.
Speaker: P.O.P., the person that invented TNT talks to someone else. okay okay i'm gonna have to get we have to get you to a hospital or pokemon center or whatever the fuck they have here wait a minute how was walter talking to the policemen
Speaker: good question i'm supposed to request food listen it's not a common skill but stay walter knows how to read lips apparently Apparently Walter knows how to read lips. Okay.
Speaker: It's not a common skill. Definitely not. Both of us are getting that he's dead. It's not a cop-out. No. No, it's not. His ears popped when he went so high in the air.
Speaker: I feel like I say that Walter can read lips, it's going to come back to bite me in the ass. feel like the more likely explanation is some aura shenanigans. Let Walter know how to read lips.
Speaker: Suddenly, Walter notices that his health is at full. Isn't that crazy? Oh. We're just going to chalk it down to DMing errors. Nah, Walter can read lips. Yeah. Nah, I don't feel like giving you extra power right now.
Speaker: So Hikaru starts like like signing in an improvised sign language. Like she starts pointing, okay, follow, she says she's like, follow me to hospital. and And she's like holding up her hands like, house.
Speaker: How do you make a house? Like, like- It's like her house shaped fingers, obviously. go like a triangle and then down. Is this 20 questions? if i all so I have an idea, I i don't want to make you guys do this, but i just want put this out there. I so want Hikaru just to message in the Discord using only emojis.
Speaker: you get to Please! And don't put just a house emoji. but we can't do that on an audio platform, I'm so sorry.
Speaker: I mean, we do know from the anime that Pikachu is incredibly good at impressions. So... Yes. You could just, like, make a nurse's hat with your ears.
Speaker: So it turns out that this actually is the sign for house in American Sign Language. It's just, you go like... It is literally just house. Yeah. and the Like, that's a that is exactly the side the gesture. But does does Bruce know sign language? which doing
Speaker: And then she points, like, she points behind her, like, with her finger, with her thumb, goes like...
Speaker: Go, go. We have to go way. This way. Hospital. Just drag him. All right. And then she, like, reaches out her her hand and says, points to her hand and be like, hold hold my hand. Hold it.
Speaker: Come with me.
Speaker: Bruce will nod and then start nodding. i yeah Just start following after Hikaru, but not holding her hand. Fair enough.
Speaker: Okay. Wow. And then... but They're not that close yet. Man is one of... Man ain't homie. Totally. Totally valid. all Alright, so then Hikaru starts like walk navigating the navigating the crowd of the the street where like it seems like there's puddles everywhere.
Speaker: And there's washed water on all the dirt. There's probably foot of water still on streets. A foot of water? Hikaru's like one foot four. post It's like up there. right After tsunamis, it's flooded for a while.
Speaker: Okay, it's like is maybe... okay but how about this? They're on they're on like the sidewalk, which is somehow not flooded, so it's like maybe three inches of side... There's been tsunamis where... There's been a tsunami where it's been like five feet flooded for bit.
Speaker: I'm not gonna make it inconvenient for you guys to get around, so I will say there's like two inches of water on the ground. Yeah, okay. sure So we're just in the water, and then, so we're just like, we're trying, we're like, it's up to like, it's like up to her belly button, basically.
Speaker: but said two inches, not eight. It's up to our knees. Yeah, okay, it's it's up to... okay fine, it's up to... We're wading in it, that's all.
Speaker: Yeah. yeah And... um So she just like... So we're both just like sploshing splashing water, splashing as we walk through.
Speaker: um and um and i guess like the how are the traffic lights are there are there traffic lights there's no cars not anymore no okay not even like walk signs but there's no cars there's no need for traffic bla oh yeah wait minute yeah there's no cars okay listening it's all for the big po the big pokemon
Speaker: okay so hikaru looks around for so hikaru looks around for anybody who might be able to give directions like a cop or something uh sure there's a blaziken like uh helping an injured um fampy on the ground so she so she walks over excuse me excuse me sir mr blaziken ah yeah Yeah, hi, how? hi Do you need help? Are you injured? Were you part of this disaster? ah
Speaker: Yeah, unfortunately. Yeah, I was... I chugged a bunch of ocean I got a mouthful of...
Speaker: um not a mouthful of and I think she's saying that's the cause of the tsunami. i i mean i got so i mean i got a face full of water when that' when the tsunami hit me and I just passed out.
Speaker: Alright, and you two can walk yourselves. The hospital, if you he like gives you directions. It's down this it's down that road. He points down the road. If you take a ride at so-and-so street, you'll get to the hospital. It's pretty clearly marked. It should be undamaged.
Speaker: ah Thank you. so So-and-so street, then? Yes. Okay. Yep, that's right. Alright. Oh, and which cross street? ah This way.
Speaker: Okay, so... It's at the intersection of this way and so-and-so street. Nice. Alright, so... So... This way and so-and-so street, okay. um bru And then she turns toward toward Bruce and goes like, Okay, follow me.
Speaker: With her hands. Okay, yeah. Bruce will nod
Speaker: So we go towards, um we we we're walking down, I think, what what like street are we on now? This way.
Speaker: This way. We are this way. guys are turning right at the intersection of this way and so and so. So you've got it. You go down the road and eventually you come across the street sign that says so and so.
Speaker: Alright. Okay. So then she walks into the so she walks into the hospital door with Bruce right behind her.
Speaker: And is there like is there water inside the hospital too? No, the hospital is far away from where the incident occurred. So, hospital is nice and dry, but it is packed.
Speaker: There's a lot of people. You see a Crabominable with Clefairy and Clef getting checked in at the front desk. And there's a line at the reception. o Do they see the person sent? Oh, there's a whole line here. Okay.
Speaker: Yeah, that's the problem with the Clefury. Yeah, I literally said... Yeah, know, I just passed my mind. Okay.
Speaker: Hikaru barely notices them from the crowds. um Okay. So... So, is there, like, a line to the reception desk? Is there a waiting room? There's a line to the reception desk. The waiting room is completely packed. There's a lot, a lot of people being checked into the hospital right now. my gosh.
Speaker: Um, are we... and then...
Speaker: i wonder if there's like another hospital that's less crowded. But looks like we're not going to be seen for like an hour, probably.
Speaker: I mean, i'm I'm willing to let you guys just wait it out. I just had the place packed as a flavor text. You guys can just wait it out. We can just... Hikaru's, like, soaking soaking wet, so she better, like, just dry off somewhere. You do not want be by an electric Pokemon when they try to dry off.
Speaker: What? I mean, well, you know there's the classic just shake the whole body. black go ahead. Shake yourself like a dog. shake yourself Yeah, shake yourself dry in this crowded room.
Speaker: Oh, yeah. ah Well, is there a bathroom? Yeah, there's a crowded room. Sure, sure, there's a bathroom. Okay. The drying bathroom. Yeah, the drying bathroom. so So she looks for the bathroom.
Speaker: And is let me guess, it's also crowded. uh there's a few people there i don't see a reason for it to be over yeah they're all sha the the line doesn't go into the ball shaking the dry off
Speaker: uh i guess we i guess bruce and i both need to dry off do we go into the same one You can do whatever you want. this is stuff this is Bruce has been slowly just like moving his flight like moving his flames as much around his body as he can to dry his fur.
Speaker: Just on the walk. So I want to say Bruce is mostly dry by now. Mostly dry, okay. I like that. okay Perks of being a fire type and all.
Speaker: Yep. Hmm. What am I gonna do? Um... I mean, bru bru Bruce at this point is just gonna look at the line for the reception and go, like, sit in a chair in the waiting room.
Speaker: Okay. Yep. So Hikaru somehow dries off in the bathroom. Okay. And suddenly there's no more paper towels. No.
Speaker: classic public bathroom no paper towels there's suddenly no there's no paper towels okay um is no i was insinuating that you i was insinuating that you used all the paper towels to dry yourself like the electric hand dryer thing just you used all the electric no i'm kidding all
Speaker: like a blow dryer
Speaker: anyway sorry ah just love idea of using an entire power plant like just to dry i have electricity you know yeah she can power the dryer herself if she needed Sorry, i'm just like im imagine it's like all the sudden just rawr the bathroom is just like the the fucking temperature of the Sun for a split second
Speaker: and Just put it put it in the dryer okay okay You're dry at this point. For some reason, and there's one of those towel dryers at the but like at the gym where you put your bathing suit and towel it and just many clothes dryer. She just hops in there.
Speaker: I just get, like, shaking around and stuff. Yeah. Okay. So... Excuse me. all Alright. So, after some time passes, the reception line goes down. well I mean, the reception doesn't go down, but you guys move forward. There's plenty of people behind you as well.
Speaker: As you guys get to the front, there's a Blissey. And she's like, oh, hi there. How can I help you? Hi. Um... So... um So this one lost his hearing in the blast.
Speaker: Oh, like full deafness. Yeah, like he can't hear me. Oh, yeah, that's a good point. Has my hearing been coming back at all over time? No.
Speaker: No, but it's it's fine. The Clefairy's like, oh, that's that's an easy fix. Here, just you don't even need a doctor for that. She like runs into the back and comes out.
Speaker: What's the ah paralyzed berry? I forget what that's called. Oh, it's a cherry berry. ter So you mean, you said you're a cherry berry. yeah ah If that's not what I said, then yes.
Speaker: yeah the Blissey. yeah Oh, I said Chansey, didn't I? Yeah, the Clefairy comes back. Is that Clefairy? Whoops. You know that Clefairy that died or passed out or whatever? He said Blissey the first time and then said Chansey went to your get the berry and now he's back to Blissey again.
Speaker: okay yeah it's a blissey the blissey comes back with a cherry berry and is like uh give him this it should it's not exactly paralysis but it it heals in the same way okay thank you and then she just gives the cherry berry to bruce and but bruce will eat it okay wasn't expecting this to help but sure It's an easy fix, I'm not gonna have you guys stay in hospital for five days. so
Speaker: ah You feel your healing come back as your ears start to like pop and reconfigure. It's not quite painful, but it's an interesting sensation. And suddenly you can hear again as you have just regrown new year drums, I guess.
Speaker: Yeah, and I imagine it's like feeling your ears pop from an airplane for the first time. like Yeah, sure. 10,000 Yeah. Oh, my God. Yeah, you reminded me of the time because I used to live at a different elevation from my work. So every time I would go down the mountain when I was in Washington State, my ears would pop like every single day to and from work.
Speaker: All right. Right. So a now you guys have your next objective. Where the hell is Walter? Good question. First, Bruce is going to oh, thanks, Hikaru, for helping me get my hearing back.
Speaker: You're welcome.
Speaker: Uh, can't now and lets you go through life without being able to hear my music.
Speaker: Uh, yeah. oop Any idea where Walter might be?
Speaker: have no idea. did Did he get washed up too? Just look for the explosions! i for it Just follow the trail of explosions. I sure would imagine.
Speaker: You'd see multiple explosions at a night in this way. my god. Can you imagine, Walters is like the ultimate terrorist. He's just walking down the street, just tossing a trail of bombs. Little do you know, me and the octopus have been working together.
Speaker: willlay the octopus? yeah Oh, Vickers. and Yeah, Vickers, the artillery. Wait, let me page him. Uh... Oh, yeah, that's true. We do have GPA phones.
Speaker: Yeah. So... you so yeah You pull out your GPA and it is not turning on. I'm sorry. that You don't have the waterproof version yet.
Speaker: Oh, no. Yeah, that's right. I don't think we have waterproof... GBA is made yet. We haven't found a way to do that just yet. Would water types be offended or love the fact that water um water im immune electronics exist? Would they be happy or sad? Why would they be sad? That just sounds like a benefit. I can make calls underwater? That sounds amazing. yeah i never i never would trust it.
Speaker: You might not trust it, but it's still a benefit. Yeah. I don't know. Oh, so are we like... Am I fully healed? Uh, sure. It's after battle. You guys can be fully healed. Okay. Okay, cool.
Speaker: Yeah. I don't see you guys having a battle anytime soon unless you want to just rough up the nearest civilian for whatever reason. So, yeah, you guys should be fine. Look at me funny.
Speaker: That Clefairy has it coming. yeah I got the type advantage on him. I could use some extra experience on him for no reason. Just beat up a fucking like a disaster relief helper. This is what you give to helping that kid.
Speaker: Let me give you a piece of mine. Alright. alright but Hey, you brought up beating on some random civilian. I did, I know.
Speaker: Okay, um... So... Ugh. Shit, this thing is... This thing won't turn on. How are we gonna... How how are we even gonna contact your mom?
Speaker: Uh... We try something. Uh... But Roos is gonna pull out his GBA and like, um, check it to like, like, see where exactly the water damage is. Uh, and I will also remind you, you can't contact his mom. Because she is kidnapped.
Speaker: Uh. Oh. Yeah, that's the whole reason you guys are on this escapade. Right. Oh, right. Right. How are we gonna contact anybody? Yeah, that does... Do need, like, letters? Yeah. i mean, the Fair Wolf is gonna get damaged. Yeah, so Bruce, go ahead roll investigation on the GBA. Okay.
Speaker: These dice are not being nice to me today. That's a three. Uh, well, you do notice one thing. Uh, the water got all over the GBA.
Speaker: So that's helpful. Alright, so Rude's gonna try something else here. He's gonna try to open up the GBA. Sure, it's just held in with three screws, you know, classic tri-wing screws. Do you have the screwdriver? I don't remember, does the GBA have tri-wing screws?
Speaker: Or was that after or before tri-wings were? It's one of those annoying type like screws that you need a very specific screwdriver for. I actually have a tri-wing fucking screwdriver. Because I actually have repair my old consoles, so... Does Bruce have that? actually have one of those. Does Bruce have screwdriver? No, but I'm gonna say, like, don't know, just fucking fingernail. I don't care. You can open the GBA. He uses his nub. He uses his nub. His Y-shaped nub, you know? I mean...
Speaker: He's got tools. You know, I just didn't want to make it difficult for you to open the GBA, but if you want to find a creative way to do it, you can. i How does they send a Syndical use a screwdriver? Don't worry about it.
Speaker: You gotta use both your dobes together. The same way a Tyflution designed the GBA. Uh, yeah. With magic, obviously.
Speaker: This thing's just held together by the floors. It's held together by pure fire type power. yeah ho We're able to open it because we're fire types.
Speaker: It's like one of those like gates from Skylanders. It only opens up if you're the right type. so For a fire type, it just magically unveils. Oh yeah, since you're fire type, can you like dry it off by holding it close to your flame? yep That's kind of the plan.
Speaker: ah But you forgot the rice. You don't have any rice. yeah yeah I don't know if... I thought about rice, but I'm like, we don't really do believe rice in this world.
Speaker: mean, rice is a vegetable. I don't see anything against that. Wait, hold on. Can we maybe can we just like give our GBAs to the hospital staff and see if they can treat them?
Speaker: To treat them? is that To treat them? I don't think they're going to prioritize your GPA over the countless injured people. ah Yeah, I don't think our GPAs have rotoms in them. I don't think that... I don't think they take priority.
Speaker: I thought you were going to say see if someone could repair them, but can I treat them? They're not biological. Mmm yes the heart that is pumping blood through this machine is faulty. I just need to give it a yeah get do do the uh whatever leave the egg thing uh soft boiled I just need to use soft boiled on this GBA and it'll be just fine.
Speaker: Oh yes, I see the issue here. Your GPA, it needs a lobotomy. Let me go get to my finest ice picks. Oh, Jesus.
Speaker: We're gonna to take these to like repair shop or something. I mean...
Speaker: i assume Bruce knows something about... how they were made, what what the design thing is these. Well, you were able to take it apart. Wait a sec. you can see that the batteries in the back...
Speaker: ah The obvious thing is the batteries are shorted out, the batteries are toasted and done for. Okay, that's what I've said. But yes, there is water all over it. You don't see any signs of immediate damage other than the batteries are completely fried. and Okay, so yeah, Bruce is gonna like dump out the water first and foremost, and then like just...
Speaker: kick carefully like hold it over his flames to dry it the rest of the way and then yeah uh after some time it dries out and then he's gonna take out the the fried battery uh to there may maybe have hikaru take out the shorted battery just in case there's some like lingering electricity from the shortage any electrical danger there if there's any electrical danger what's that exactly you're a pikachu you don't need to worry about that yeah in fact like if there's any if there's any static buildup inside the inside of the device let me just she just puts her hand all over it and like discharges into her body
Speaker: and all the capacitors are discharged. it's yeah Once you take the batteries out, I'm going to consider it non-volatile. We just need to get new batteries for them, I think.
Speaker: Is it just the batteries? I hope it's just the batteries. It should just be the batteries. there's The main thing that would get water damage to that quickly.
Speaker: Where can we get replacement batteries? That's good question. do Do they sell them in the shop, is it? In the hospital gift shop? No, what? I'm assuming we can leave the hospital now. It's like but the regular shops around town. You have no idea. Hey, hospital gift shops have some weird things. You'll find a lot of things there. oh I love that. The hospital gift shop. It's just I heart hospital. I heart is like hospital. easter
Speaker: Hey, that's what happens when it's not a government-funded building. They gotta make their money somehow. Oh, boy. Trying to come up with, like, Radio Shack funds. um Yeah, I like that. Jake su suggested in the private chat Radio Snack, which I like. Alright, are you guys gonna go look for a Radio Shack? Yeah, think so.
Speaker: Okay. Alright, so as you guys are walking out, you accidentally bump into a Pokemon. And suddenly, letters go flying as you realize you have bumped into an Emolga. And i got her I gotta remember this after I looked this up. What's the Melcaria Emolga's name? I forgot.
Speaker: Paraza. Yeah. horizonza yeah yeah horizon is the mail carrier mulga yeah was gonna say i know this one micah submitted so yay uh fan submitted character comes back uh but horizon the mail carrier mulga carrying a big pile of letters uh suddenly letters going flying everywhere oh my gosh i'm so sorry i'm like oh no my letters my letters and she's like they're all gonna get water damaged No, you're in the dry part of town, Walter. Yeah, Jake.
Speaker: Walter's not even with us. Yet. Yep. This is just your conscience talking. Hey, wait. Hariza.
Speaker: Hariza? ah yeah Yeah, hi. dont Do I know you? I mean, I've seen you before. i Oh, I've seen a lot of people. I mean, it's the nature of my job. You know, I meet a lot of people.
Speaker: Well, uh... Well, um... You've delivered stuff to us, and I'd recognize i'd recognize a fellow electric rodent anywhere. so ah rodent? Well, that's a little mean.
Speaker: I'm sorry. it's just we have, like, similar body plans and... Like... I'm Pikachu, you know what I mean? Okay. So like rubbing the back her head, she's like, oh oh, right. That's like, if I came up to it's like, hey, yeah, you're a similar freaky scumbag. You know, we're alike.
Speaker: It's the same kind energy you got going on here. So don't know, it's a little weird. But anyway, can I yeah do anything for you? I'm sorry, I bumped into you there, but. ah No worries. we're We're looking for the nearest um radio snack.
Speaker: Radio snack. Uh, yeah, yeah, there's one just down the road there. Uh, yeah, what you need it for? um our GBA devices got fried, and we're trying to fix it. Oh.
Speaker: Oh, yeah you know there's other ways to communicate with people, right? Well, you would know. Yeah, I know. It's almost like I've been conveniently placed here for this exact purpose. Mm.
Speaker: How funny. What a coincidence. move Well... I think we we just... hu Can we like, Bruce, do you wanna like, should we send a letter to your, wait, your mom's missing. Okay. um i we We would just, that we would be sending a letter to Walter say, meet need us at road.
Speaker: the ah radio yeah snack on this road We're getting our fixed. Please tell me I'm like 20 feet from them. You're going to the police station. You're going the other way.
Speaker: decided not to go to the hospital. I talked to the police. Oh, that's right. what What were you going to do? with you were walking back. was going to go to the police station, but I already found a police don't walking around like helping.
Speaker: oh right. Yeah, I don't know then. That's up to you, I guess.
Speaker: Where is Walter right now? I was just finding if you rode a lugger into the Amulga and she went up and went straight back down to like 20 feet beside you. Oh, man.
Speaker: That's up to Dakota. Also, where does Dakota think Walter is? Did you ask me something? I'm sorry, what? but We're wondering where Walter is like... Oh, Walter's, uh, I mean, I know where Walter is. I was just gonna wrap things up with you guys real quick, and we're gonna figure out, find out where Walter is.
Speaker: Yeah. Um... i I know how this is gonna conclude. Whether you guys do one thing or the other. i don't like that. well um... Alright, well, Horizon, thanks for your help. Um... Yeah, yeah, not of course.
Speaker: Yeah. Do we wanna send Walter that letter? Yeah, would you know how to... I suppose we could. we I mean, if she's able to find him.
Speaker: Well, I mean, if he's not his normal address, so if you can just give me a general area of where you think he's at, I can just fly up, scour the area. shouldn't be hard to find. i think he's I think he'd be somewhere in this town.
Speaker: he He should be somewhere between nick this hospital and the beach. there's a do yeah Yeah, that's not a big deal.
Speaker: ah You got a letter? Or here, you you said you'd need regular hair. Let me get you a pen and paper and see he like pulls out a pen and paper and hands it to you. All right, thank you. the the First, I'm just going to write down quick note of that. Hey, Walter, we just got out of the hospital. i i got my hearing back.
Speaker: um Meet us at the Radio Snack on that street. Oh, mention all right Bruce. Mention that um a cherry berry will heal it.
Speaker: Oh, yeah. um Yeah, I was I got my hearing back by eating a cherry berry.
Speaker: And they have them at the hospital. no But the hospital is hella crowded. Yeah, I figure it might be easier for him to get a cherry berry from a shop than going into the hospital for it.
Speaker: Fair enough! Who knows? who yeah but We'll just we'll leave that up to him. How he gets the cherry berry can be up to him. And there you go. The, uh... The Riser of Melcaria Molga takes her ladder and rolls it up is like, Alright, uh, I'll be back in a minute.
Speaker: Uh, well, I mean, i won't be back. I'm ah dropping those letters off and I'm out of here, but... Uh, I will get this ladder delivered and I will see you guys around. She, like, salutes you and heads out of the building.
Speaker: Or at least she tries to, because she walks up to the door, and she notices that Walter is standing at the door, and she's like, Oh hey, I've got a letter for you! And she hands out a letter. And Walter is there, he's a fireman carrying a Wobbuffet over his back to the hospital.
Speaker: Wobbuffet? Jeez. Very big Pokemon. I really need to cancel the subscription.
Speaker: Oh, it's not a letter, it's a letter from your friends here. Wait. She like gestures over to Bruce and Hikaru.
Speaker: Okay, um... He's gonna like, hold on, hold on home in one second, or a second. He's gonna like, put the Wobbuffet down. Read the note, like, okay, okay, okay.
Speaker: Right back. Okay. And give it back to the Remoka. You don't give the letter back to the mail carriers? That's not how that worked. Yeah, Horizen's like, i what do you want me to do with this? This isn't mine. now He scribbles out what they said, and right, what he said is like, all right, now give this to them.
Speaker: Okay, so she takes the letter, and hand she turns around, not even moving, hands it to Hikaru, and what does the letter say, Jake? Okay.
Speaker: Alright. So, yeah, you guys are reunited because Walter was helping out with the rescue. He ended up at the hospital eventually, which is a... feel like it's good conclusion of that, so... Right, so are you guys heading out to the radio snack, then?
Speaker: Yeah. yeah Wow, guys, that's a weird accent. Who knows what happened? Okay.
Speaker: Alright, as you guys are heading out of the hospital, that is where we're gonna end this episode. I'm going to end this episode 40 minutes sooner. I'm so sorry guys. So this I'm pretty sure after I stitched these two recordings together, this is going to be like a three hour episode. Because our previous recording was two hours and 32 seconds. And this one's just under two hours. We're a month late, but this is gonna be a chunky episode.
Speaker: yeah I know, it's been so tough. with I'm sure I'm gonna say it in the ah in the little lift thing I'm gonna put between these two recordings, but yeah. I've been fuckin' sick for a week and a half now. We had 4th of July happen, recording's been nearly impossible for them And then we got America getting destroyed ah by getting in soccer.
Speaker: oh yeah forgot the world caps going on anyway we're trying to end the episode uh all right i have been dakota your sick pm dmgm only for the second yeah only for the second half the first half i recorded a month ago and i was still fine i've been evelyn also recovering from a cold playing car i've been eli not sick at all playing bruce I've been Walter playing, blah, been Jake playing Walter.
Speaker: He's lost himself. He's lost himself. He is the character now. That's method acting at its finest. Alright, alright we will see you guys next time. Thank you guys for listening.
Speaker: Hey guys, it's Dakota. Thanks for sticking around for this- what is this? 3 hours and seventeen eighteen after this end section long episode? This is the longest episode we've ever recorded, and that's because this is technically two episodes in one.
Speaker: ah i know it's been a month since we've uploaded. If you listen to the little middle section I had there, it explains why 4th of July being sick and whatnot, so... Hopefully ah there wasn't too much of a burden, hopefully this extra extra long episode makes up for it. so ah With that being said, I hope we're back to our regular recording schedule. I keep saying that, but recording has been so incredibly tough with things going on, so we will get it to you when we can, sorry.
Speaker: ah With that being said, I also want to address the ah botting attacks that we've had in the Discord server recently. Um, if you were affected by that, we're terribly sorry. We have already put in extra security measures to prevent that, and so far they seem to have worked. So, if you're curious about that, uh, I think it was July 2nd, we started getting a bunch of bot attacks that would at everyone in the server in every single channel.
Speaker: When we disabled the at everyone, um the ability to use at everyone in discord, ah a bot came on and started spamming screenshots. I never did see what was on those screenshots. If anyone has if anyone knows what that is, let me know in the discord. But ah basically we added a role that's called temp verification required. If if you join the server and your account looks like a bot, like it was created two days ago, or it has no activity, it has no profile picture or anything that. Like if it's obviously a bot,
Speaker: Then we'll give you that rule. And I'm pretty sure bots cannot respond in DMs, so all you have to do is we will message out, we will reach out to you, and if you can just respond to something we say in your DMs, we will remove the rule. What the rule does is it removes all permissions, period, in the Discord server. So if we see some ah a if we see a user that looks like a bot, we can remove all of their permissions immediately without banning them.
Speaker: And if it is found to be bot, then we do ban them. so ah But it's pretty obvious who's a user and who's not. So it shouldn't be an issue. ah But with that being said, hopefully this ah takes care of that and so forth has because the bot attacks have stopped ever since we've done that.
