Jarrod Dyke: Hey everybody, welcome back. It is the Fantasy Rugby Yanks. My name is Jared Dyke.
Grumpy Old Prop: I'm Ben Glauser. Oh.
Jarrod Dyke: It's Fantasy Corner Time. We're going to dive right in here. Recapping the Champions League week and then we're going to get into Fantasy Outlook more or less and we're going to probably just jump into the start set very quickly here. Okay, so draft.
Jarrod Dyke: We had Barty, what happened, dude? Barty got crushed by Duncan, like, by 100 points.
Grumpy Old Prop: oh
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah, it was a tough weekend for him.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah, he had... Barty had been sale. and he was He was forced to play and not playing Henry Pollock as well. And Apoko Fajor, who came off early. So, that's not helpful.
Jarrod Dyke: And, yeah, Duncan had some good ones for Valvo.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
Jarrod Dyke: He had Thorley. Marmion. Marmion. There you go. That's a big one right there.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yep.
Jarrod Dyke: That one right there is pretty much good. Uh, so he, he lost, um, ah, there we go. It's Luke. Okay. That's what I thought it was. So yeah, I think that's who I thought it was last.
Jarrod Dyke: The proptimist. Um, but yeah, he got proptimist already. He lost to Maddie K. So there's that, that that was by a pretty good margin too. That was by about 60.
Jarrod Dyke: That's not great. Um, Tighter one between Justin and George, but George came out victorious.
Jarrod Dyke: Who did it for George?
Jarrod Dyke: Dom. Dom was the big one on that one. um Yeah, and then I was able to upend Alex. I think that's only my second win of the the league, though. so a I happened to have snagged Luke James off the wire, and I still had Todaro in my team, and I still won.
Grumpy Old Prop: Oof.
Grumpy Old Prop: Oof. Yeah, I had, you know.
Jarrod Dyke: and but I won by six. So, yeah. Tomas Williams had a decent day. i had Erlba.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, he did.
Jarrod Dyke: had Theo Dan. So, yeah. i had some d had some okay players.
Grumpy Old Prop: Good stuff.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah. Alex got kind of chapped with a couple of his picks, unfortunately. um Yeah. Redshaw was his big performer, which, yeah.
Jarrod Dyke: Nice to have that.
Jarrod Dyke: How did the village people do?
Grumpy Old Prop: So in the Navy, v um Mark took me down 128 to 125.
Jarrod Dyke: but
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, my boneheadery missing out, like not paying attention to the lineups clearly enough and had Gonzo on my bench when I definitely would have been playing him, except, you know, their their site didn't list the Baths.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: salary starters and so i just wasn't i i yeah but i should have like that's one of those like i don't shouldn't rely on that and i did and that was in it that's on me knowing that they didn't have it right um yeah definitely on me but either way good result for mark you know consistency over like high end i think because he had like rafael had 19
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah, slight malfunction in it. I caught it, and thankfully.
Grumpy Old Prop: um Reed Thacker had around 15 for a bank around 20. aaron della twenty twenty So just some good, you know, Benhard, Twardwell.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: And I was dealing with like Max Malins with 33 and like Moreau with 33.
Jarrod Dyke: Solid. Yeah, solid games.
Grumpy Old Prop: It was like, I needed those getting, know, the, the high end, which is again, why, know, yeah. Kakasau did not do anything.
Jarrod Dyke: No.
Grumpy Old Prop: um Merle had a try, but not much else. So yeah. um Anyway, Rob, rob Cashin beat Franco for for his first win of the season. So well done, Rob. Stu lost two column one sixteen to And then Matt T, 130 to Paul, 75-ish.
Jarrod Dyke: Oh, damn dude.
Grumpy Old Prop: Paul, yeah. um LRZ, the Colory had almost nine points, not bad. He had Farrell. His guys just didn't.
Jarrod Dyke: Didn't show up.
Grumpy Old Prop: nobody Nobody put up massive points.
Jarrod Dyke: No.
Grumpy Old Prop: They all just like, yeah, they were all kind of, and you know, good guys who who had the opportunity to.
Jarrod Dyke: Hard.
Grumpy Old Prop: Beard had four points. Woodward was negative. um Yeah.
Jarrod Dyke: Sheesh.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mafi only had eight. Like, just guys, just nobodyy nobody showed out, you know, for Matt.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: He had Wills, who had 25. No, not seven. can say where was... Oh, he had Marmee in I'm actually, you know, I had 18 points. That's not bad. JJ Vander Mesh.
Grumpy Old Prop: You're calling
Jarrod Dyke: Scored. One of two tries for Saints, yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: home. Solid week from that. And, you know, Paul just...
Jarrod Dyke: Yep.
Grumpy Old Prop: And, you know, he still didn't do work. frank Franco was the one who had the worst. He had 76 points because it's kind of the same situation except for Marcus Smith was the only one who had 20. Ugh. lot lot of...
Grumpy Old Prop: I think he was...
Jarrod Dyke: tough.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, that was his only score over 14 points too, so...
Jarrod Dyke: Hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: rough sorry franco been there
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah. Very rough. Oh, all right. Uh, super brew happenings. Uh, Rob had the yellow hat for the week. Um, hasn't overtaken, didn't overtake Alex though.
Jarrod Dyke: Um, Rob's jumped two spots, which dropped, um, Paul down one. and ah yeah, we had some good movements right in that three to six range there.
Jarrod Dyke: Twos and ones all over the place.
Grumpy Old Prop: mm-hmm
Jarrod Dyke: You jumped a spot over Mark, Franco, Luke, and then I am just pulling up the rear here.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yep.
Jarrod Dyke: Bad day.
Grumpy Old Prop: Oh.
Jarrod Dyke: Another bad weekend for me. Oh, well.
Grumpy Old Prop: Let me look at yeah me. Let me check out this squad.
Jarrod Dyke: Oh, think I had Todaro on my team. That was not helpful.
Grumpy Old Prop: You did. So did I. um And you captain Radwin.
Jarrod Dyke: who thought would do better, but obviously that was a stupid idea.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah. Where did I and who did I captain? um Oh, Willis, who. Didn't do much better, but I also had Moreau on my squad. That worked out very well.
Jarrod Dyke: worked That worked out well, probably.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah. Got Luke James in there, which was nice, but about the best I could, make yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: Nice.
Grumpy Old Prop: I'm still loving my Revovo at center. um I like that a lot.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah, I think I got priced out of that one, unfortunately.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, I mean i mean made space for him.
Jarrod Dyke: Barf. Yeah. Oh, well. Can't win them all.
Grumpy Old Prop: No.
Jarrod Dyke: All right. Um, okay. Let's, so we talked a little bit about last week. Um, be interested to see this week, what, what happens with championship.
Jarrod Dyke: Um, prices will go up and down as they have in the prime and the URC. If you haven't played those games yet, then yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right.
Jarrod Dyke: Beware of those prices. They're going to move like the stock market a little bit.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right.
Jarrod Dyke: Uh,
Grumpy Old Prop: For instance, for instance, you get like ah um an Anton Dupont who
Jarrod Dyke: I will sit. Mm hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: Um, we talked to a little bit about, um, or at least like, you know, no, we talked about it before we were recording. We talked a little bit about it, but like, uh, he's a guy who he's expensive, but his, everybody's going to have him.
Grumpy Old Prop: So his price is just going to go up. So it's one of those like, okay, you could go cheaper, but at the same time, even if he's not performing well, then you can sell him. If you sell him, right.
Grumpy Old Prop: You'll, you'll have a lot more money elsewhere. So, um,
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah, you'll you'll end up with more than the $100 million cap that you're given right now.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Jarrod Dyke: um Yeah, so keep an eye on that. If you're coming in from... um There is a fantasy game for top 14, and George and I were messaging about it earlier. like Some of the scoring kind of is shit, so don't expect translation to go well.
Jarrod Dyke: What I would do is dig into the top 14 stats and find guys that are obviously you know making line breaks, getting meters... Yes, tackles are good too, but yeah, you're looking for like line breaks, meters, broken tackles, stuff like that. That'll be kind of your your big your big ones to and to have an eyeball on there. Unfortunately, the top meter maker for top 14 is not in this competition, so won't be able to pick him, but there's still some good ones.
Jarrod Dyke: um So yeah, just there's that. And then, yeah, you get only three per... team. So choose wisely.
Grumpy Old Prop: choose wisely yeah
Jarrod Dyke: Now, I would say your, your throwaway positions, quote unquote, are like the third prop, the third lock. Um, even another, even one of your props could be a throwaway little bit, uh, maybe set, maybe the third center as well.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right.
Jarrod Dyke: That's a possibility as well. Like those are the pick someone kind of that will, will probably be good, but not on, a team of note necessarily.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right.
Jarrod Dyke: So that's that's just an idea. Just in case you have someone drop because you you don't want to have nobody there. That's bad news. I know guys will sometimes go with the cheapest player there whether or not they're going to play. They don't care.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
Jarrod Dyke: And just risk that. Risk reward. Risk reward. Okay. With that, let's do a big fat session to start set.
Jarrod Dyke: I you're kicking us.
Grumpy Old Prop: I kick us off. All right. Sale hosting Glasgow. Fucking fantasy legendary matchups here. um
Jarrod Dyke: Well, some yes, some no.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yes. So for Sale... Their front row is is probably a good place for one of those throwaway guys. um The thing is, Luke Kowndikki is a little expensive, but I'm trying to find...
Jarrod Dyke: Mm-hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: Bevan Arad is only $2 million as a prop. like That's not a bad shout because he will give you more points in that. Opoka 4 drawer as well. um same Same price too. So definitely worth it. Again, Luke Kowndikki being one of the top value points um hookers i think he's what in the 3.5 so there's only one two three four five people who are more expensive than him you can do better um like harry thacker is also three and a half and that like you can go somewhere else with that um the there's not much else to talk about i don't really like their back row halfbacks like you might go forward because you you get some kicking points there um he will you'll score high there but
Jarrod Dyke: Yep. Right.
Grumpy Old Prop: You know, again, it's four games that didn't to find a new guy, but at the same time, he also could be popular. So that might get you not just points, but additional value for when it's time to to trim fat. um And then the back three, Reed Carpenter, of Roebuck, I think, what is it? Roebuck's hurt.
Grumpy Old Prop: um
Jarrod Dyke: He was hurt last week. i don't know. He may be healthy.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
Jarrod Dyke: Who knows?
Grumpy Old Prop: um But their potential.
Jarrod Dyke: Yep.
Grumpy Old Prop: um Like, like, I think you can do better, but also I think they're pretty cheap. For Glasgow, maybe their back row, Darge, Dempsey, probably not.
Grumpy Old Prop: I wouldn't mind either of the Nines, Horn or Dabi.
Grumpy Old Prop: But really, where you're looking here is is Huey Pilato. um i think last year i just had both of them in.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah.
Jarrod Dyke: Just rode with it.
Grumpy Old Prop: And it it worked out pretty well for me. I feel like it just did that. Or maybe that was Six Nations Fantasy. I can't remember, but I've done it in in previous competitions and it's kind of fun. The Wings, Rowe, the Kyles. God damn it, Kyle. Rowe and Stane. I'm not really that psyched in ah in this match.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah. Jones. He's moving closer to a return. He's been banged up for Scotland and and and Glasgow.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right. I just wasn't.
Jarrod Dyke: So just keep eyes peeled on that.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, I thought I'd heard he was going to come back for this, but that could have been a while ago. So I just made an assumption.
Jarrod Dyke: That's a pop. Yeah, he's on the verge. So we may see him.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
Jarrod Dyke: it may He also may come off the bench. So just keep that in mind.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right.
Jarrod Dyke: All right. So we got Bayonne and Stormers. So I'm going with the idea that the Stormers are bringing everyone in this one. I know we picked them and I was worried about it, but we're going to go with you know the idea that they're going to.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm hmm.
Jarrod Dyke: For Bayonne, so looking at guys, so Anscombe's been picked popularly. I don't know why he's actually not starting, I don't think, much at least.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Jarrod Dyke: Tui doesn't interest me because he doesn't do anything fantasy-worthy. Guys that you probably want to look at instead would be guys like Tom Spring, Taberkin, and Yogi Steckens because they are probably going be the ones that score points for Bayonne terms of fantasy stuff. Springs and Taberkin have um meters they're they're big meter eaters they got 600 plus each i believe in top 14 so far um good enough for like top 20 both of them i think and seconds is one of the top point scorers in the in the league so there's that for you all um point being that's you don't play anskin because seconds is clearly doing the kicking so even if he's play starting he's not going to do anything that's going to get you points um plus find a better fly half um Stormers, speaking of better fly halves, Sasha, yes.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm-hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm-hmm.
Jarrod Dyke: Dan Duplessis is a name that's popping up. here I don't know about that one. Reynak, maybe if you don't want to go DuPont, maybe he's your second as well. There's that.
Jarrod Dyke: Ruse and De Villiers are names that have done well in URC Fantasy, which is the exact same format. So I would give that nod for them. And then the young the young prop, fourth then.
Jarrod Dyke: give him Give him a look. He's done pretty well in USC fantasy. I think he's averaging about nine points per game, something like that, a little bit more. So pretty good stuff if you if you're looking for a filler spot for that prop spot.
Grumpy Old Prop: All right. On to Saracens hosting Claremont.
Jarrod Dyke: Next.
Jarrod Dyke: Hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: For Saracens, you look at their forwards more their back more than their backs. um So like Theodan or Jinx, Mauro, maybe Theomac, Earl and Willis.
Grumpy Old Prop: Willis is pretty much a must-have. He's one of those guys who's...
Jarrod Dyke: he's healthy.
Grumpy Old Prop: but Yeah, let's... Yeah, i look to me that looked like he didn't want to come... He recognized that he had to come out but didn't want to wasn't like He's like i can think i can play i can't play through this.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: so i don't it does I don't think it's a long-term thing.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: I think it was a just, man, he needs a little bit of... He needs just a little bit little bit of...
Jarrod Dyke: I hope so.
Grumpy Old Prop: you know Walk that off. um ah that
Jarrod Dyke: Theo Mack's a back rower in this league. Just FYI.
Grumpy Old Prop: Take him out. Nope. um Don't worry about him. um So Faz is a kicking option. if if like Wait, is he a see a center in this game?
Grumpy Old Prop: I can't...
Jarrod Dyke: Oh, that's a good question, actually. They may have changed it with this one. Because he's a fly half in Prem.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right. Oh, yeah, he's a center.
Jarrod Dyke: Yes, he is. He's a center. yeah That's the same situation as Slade.
Grumpy Old Prop: So.
Jarrod Dyke: So, meh.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right. But, you know but Farrell is also, ah you know, he might he might actually be playing 10, though. It depends if that's if you know what what they did with Bath.
Jarrod Dyke: Fergus was healthy. Fergus was healthy.
Grumpy Old Prop: um
Jarrod Dyke: so
Grumpy Old Prop: Fergus, what?
Jarrod Dyke: Fergus was healthy healthy the other day. he just didn't start.
Grumpy Old Prop: Oh, I thought I thought, yeah, I thought that's my thought was that maybe they're looking at faz for 10 for the Champions Cup.
Jarrod Dyke: Maybe.
Grumpy Old Prop: um So anyway. Who knows? But that's an option if you want to go with like an Intimac at 10.
Jarrod Dyke: Who doesn't kick? Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, who doesn't kick? um And then Calori is high risk, high reward. I think he's pretty cheap too. For Claremont, like Ratuva at lock, Peta Gus, Kramer, and the loose forwards. But...
Jarrod Dyke: Mm-hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: We all know if you know for if you're a follower of Prem Fantasy and and have seen what we've put out, Saris will stifle forwards. like They will take points away.
Grumpy Old Prop: it's not They don't do as well. So even if you like Peter Gus, like myself, um I'm still not going to start him in this match.
Jarrod Dyke: okay
Grumpy Old Prop: And same for Marcus Kramer, who I also like. No, not not this match, because they just won't get the points that you would expect. um Raka on the wing is potentially a good shot for a cheap option.
Grumpy Old Prop: um Again, that that last wing spot. But, you know, again, assuming ah each of these guys are playing.
Jarrod Dyke: Harry Plummer is 6 on the meters gained list for top 14 this year.
Grumpy Old Prop: I...
Jarrod Dyke: Has 700.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, I don't believe it. I mean, I believe like like get get it.
Jarrod Dyke: I mean, it's it's a fact.
Grumpy Old Prop: Get it. But like.
Jarrod Dyke: it doesn't mean It doesn't mean you have to love it. Just
Grumpy Old Prop: yeah I just I'm not sure. Like, that's that's silly.
Jarrod Dyke: wanted to throw that out there. That's all.
Grumpy Old Prop: It's just it's silly. And. You're saying something silly. It might be true, but that doesn't mean it's it's not silly.
Jarrod Dyke: yeah um all right so for we got bulls and bordeaux um as i said previously i expect bordeaux to send almost full noise if not if not close um if not the whole thing um so for the bulls um guys that should will likely grab your attention will be low i would i'm okay with him norchett no hasn't done well in URC fantasy so far.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
Jarrod Dyke: Grubbler. Yes. As a hooker spot. Kotsia. Yes. And then a name that's kind ring some bells, but it's the wrong person. DeClerc. Sebastian DeClerc for balls.
Grumpy Old Prop: h
Jarrod Dyke: He's done well in URC fantasy so far. So that could be, that could could translate well there.
Grumpy Old Prop: yeah
Jarrod Dyke: Could be a dark horse to grab for cheap and then sell high. um Bordeaux. I like Maxine Lamothe a lot. So, yep. brun That's a nice hooker spot. That's a good second hooker guy right there. um
Jarrod Dyke: don't have People are picking Jean-Luc Dupriot. Nope, nope, nope, nope. knee i need That's a need to see it for that one. ah And then backline. Jolly Bear, Deporter, Bilberre, Penneau.
Grumpy Old Prop: hmm.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah, rock and roll. Have fun. Rock and roll and enjoy yourself.
Grumpy Old Prop: OK, then um La Rochelle hosting Leicester La Rochelle.
Jarrod Dyke: Hmm. I
Grumpy Old Prop: mean, then, you know, the names, the Will Skelton's assuming he's assuming he's healthy um and available.
Jarrod Dyke: think he is.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, i just I don't remember. don't think he played for the for Australia.
Jarrod Dyke: You got call back to his club.
Grumpy Old Prop: ah Fair enough.
Jarrod Dyke: That's right. Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: um um Yeah, Aldrete, Budahent, yes. the that but and The back row here has for for La Rochelle has a favorable matchup. Not that Leicester's bad, although if Moreau is playing, that might might change.
Grumpy Old Prop: um I was thinking of the their they're typical, what was it, Liebenberg, Cracknell, Rafale, or something like that.
Jarrod Dyke: Mm.
Jarrod Dyke: Crack, no? Yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: Like, ah no. But I think Moreau brings a different... dimension to that so that might change but i'm not if they have the horses in the backs and you know they have jack knoll out there i think i can't i know he got hurt recently so who even knows if he's going be playing like i think he hurt himself doing something stupid if i i missed it i didn't see it but like yeah right um for lester really only looking at ollie hessel collins and radwin um as potential like change up options but
Jarrod Dyke: Mm.
Jarrod Dyke: Shocker of the day.
Jarrod Dyke: Let me put out the press alert for everyone here.
Grumpy Old Prop: yeah they're not really As I said in the other pod, they're not really set up for this competition. and It's one of those, who got to see it, and there's better options. like you No matter what, you might get a week out of somebody, but that'll be like their one thing, whereas you can get someone who's consistently good elsewhere in this competition.
Jarrod Dyke: TBD. Yeah. all right. Lincere Quinn's couple teams are kind of bumping along here. Having issues. For...
Grumpy Old Prop: Bump it and ugly.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah. Bumping others. For the guys from Dublin. High pick. High high selections. Sheehan, Sineiman. Yep. I'm okay with that.
Jarrod Dyke: Trendegast, if you must. Rico Ioani only if he's on the wing.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Jarrod Dyke: I don't want him if he's in the midfield. I have concerns over that. And then name I'm going to throw out there that's doing well in the URC fantasy that we may not see, we may see, is Soroka.
Jarrod Dyke: Alex Soroka, back rower. So throw that out there. af For Quinns, Evans, Marcus, maybe Northmore in the midfield. i i He usually translates well to fantasy.
Jarrod Dyke: So hopefully he gets he's healthy and he's right now. So that be a good sign for them. Merle and Green, assuming they're both healthy, yeah rock and roll with them as well. I don't know. i Yeah. Eastgrove, David, any other wing is definitely going to prove it to me.
Jarrod Dyke: Same, same, same. yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, certainly in this competition, there's all there's there's friggin 10 guys who are about that same price. So why would I choose that?
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah. yeah
Grumpy Old Prop: All right. Scarlet's hosting Bristol on a very long journey for Bristol. um For Scarlet, just not touching them in this competition. No, thank you.
Grumpy Old Prop: um No offense. It's just like, again, as I was just saying,
Grumpy Old Prop: there's nobody for them that I couldn't find somewhere else. And, you know, maybe one of them has a good week and I miss out. I'm i'm okay with that. Cause it's just going to be the we're likely to be just the one week.
Grumpy Old Prop: Um, and then it'll hurt me the next week to have them on this, on the squad. So, um, for Bristol though, um, all gray and Thacker, that might actually be a solid, like hooker combination to be like, they're, they're both on the cheaper end.
Jarrod Dyke: Mm-hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: I think they're, The cheap, well, no. I think um Thacker's three and a half, and then Agri's three.
Grumpy Old Prop: And the minimum is two, but it's like three's still pretty cheap.
Jarrod Dyke: Mm-hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: That's not a bad combination. Just putting that out there. um Joe Batley is a potential option at at lock. He's he's in a meter eater and will score some fun tries that like he's set up for this competition.
Grumpy Old Prop: um Harding and Mata, we Mata we know is is good here. Marmion, the way he's been playing, has been key to this. so And then Revovo and Louis Ries-Samit, especially this week, I would not hesitate to pull the trigger on any of them.
Grumpy Old Prop: and you know Any of those guys I mentioned would be would be good shows.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah, yeah, definitely. Yeah. Bath Munster. So for the Bath, it's going to be the same a lot of the same guys that you know from Prem Rugby, but I'm just going to throw the big ones out there.
Jarrod Dyke: Dutrois. Bayless is my favorite backgrower right now for them in terms of scoring. um Russell, Ollie Lawrence, if you tell the, and then Arendelle. If you didn't know, he's good.
Jarrod Dyke: For Munster, again, a lot of the same that you've probably picked before. Byrne, Coombs, Casey, Crowley, and Tiger Abrams. Dude's got some feet on him.
Jarrod Dyke: I love watching that dude play. I really do.
Grumpy Old Prop: I Powell, Northampton.
Jarrod Dyke: Mmm, be interesting.
Grumpy Old Prop: Pow! That's what I always think of that. ohs it ah
Jarrod Dyke: thank you
Grumpy Old Prop: Stepbrothers.
Jarrod Dyke: Ha ha ha ha.
Grumpy Old Prop: Pow! Anyway, ah some familiar faces, as i mentioned, with Joe Simmons um on the other pod and Dan Robson. And and you for for the astute Saracen supporters who may have seen him with a cup of coffee with the club, Joel Kapoku is at Pow.
Grumpy Old Prop: Fakundo Yisa and Luce Forwards is...
Jarrod Dyke: been hopping around quite a bit.
Grumpy Old Prop: is ah is um
Jarrod Dyke: How old is Fukuda Isa? He's not young at this point, is he?
Grumpy Old Prop: no um but he could still he could still find some space here um and then some some young burners guy it's in in the centers and atas agbe on the wing um are are fun so that yeah um then for the saints the the back row yes all day
Jarrod Dyke: Oh, man.
Jarrod Dyke: Hmm.
Jarrod Dyke: He's 32. He's not that old. Damn.
Jarrod Dyke: Mm-hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: I'm assuming we're going to see Pearson and Pollock for this one. Maybe Callum Chick. And as I mentioned Chick, no. They'll stay away from him. But Pollock and Pearson are would be hard to pass up either of them.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mitchell and Finn Smith. Mitchell's a good shout as a high-scoring, non-Dupont option. And then the back three could be tasty, too. you know Maybe not Todaro. Obviously, he won't be around. But if Sleightholm is back, You may have like a slight home for Freeman for bank situation.
Grumpy Old Prop: um yes, please.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah, we'll see how that goes.
Jarrod Dyke: All right. ah Toulouse and Sharks. Yeah, the ones from down under. From down South Africa. So for the many times champion to lose. Uh, yeah. So couple of forwards to mention Marsha and may off who Jack Willis is a, is a beast.
Jarrod Dyke: Uh, and then, yeah, there's a lot of back options. I'll, I'll highlight DuPont Ramos, but you have many others as well. Uh, LaBelle, Barassi, like there's, there's guys to pick to say the least Ron Cruz Malia. Yeah.
Jarrod Dyke: There you go. Uh, for the sharks guys that I would, that seem to be being picked at least. Um, I don't know if Ox is healthy. So that's the first thing.
Jarrod Dyke: Maybe he is. And they were just saving him for this competition or I missed him coming back. I don't know if he's in there. Fine. Roll with it. Um, and Ben, and Ben, he's not a good scorer. I don't think, I know he's a long, long time spring buck, but he's not a good scorer though.
Grumpy Old Prop: yeah
Jarrod Dyke: So pass on him. Grant Williams.
Grumpy Old Prop: he
Jarrod Dyke: Yep. Not a bad second scrum half right there for, for your sake. Our old friend, Andre Esther Hayes, and assuming he's playing 12 and not back row. And then, um,
Grumpy Old Prop: who knows where he might pop up i lost our hosting cast um
Jarrod Dyke: USC fans will know the name Edwin Vandermeer. You can throw him out there as well. Maybe as that fourth wing for yourself.
Grumpy Old Prop: really the one yes here is Thomas Williams as a, um, let me see where, as a second nine, where is he?
Jarrod Dyke: That's the second nine, yeah.
Grumpy Old Prop: Cause I think he's pretty cheap. Yeah. He's two and a half mil. He's like, and the floor is two as it seems to be for every position.
Jarrod Dyke: Ooh, all right.
Grumpy Old Prop: Um, so that is not a bad, uh, cheap option right there as a, as a point scorer.
Jarrod Dyke: No. No, not bad at all.
Grumpy Old Prop: Um, so yeah look at him um everything else is kind of a gamble the locks are i think they're a bunch of them are two million though so like a freddie thomas um alamano i think is two and a half but i don't think he actually scores that well i think you'd be looking at a freddie thomas or uh even a cam jordan um where's a jordan cameron for you the fans of the league out there um
Grumpy Old Prop: Like that that's potential if he's if he's going to be their starter. Again, there's there's options elsewhere. For Kast, it's really look for the Fijians. Like Nicaragua and the Lox and on the wing.
Grumpy Old Prop: But maybe? i don't know. but they Even them are kind of gambles.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah.
Jarrod Dyke: We'll see how seriously they take this competition.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right. I mean, if yeah.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah,
Grumpy Old Prop: But those again, those are the only two that I would even like consider because they could each either of them could just have a fucking day. So um it's in those be kind of a thought throw shit at the wall, see if it sticks.
Jarrod Dyke: yeah. yeah
Grumpy Old Prop: I don't know that I would want them on on the squad.
Jarrod Dyke: Right. um And then, and we're at Toulon. So for the house, um you could have either Hooker, Ashman or Richardson.
Jarrod Dyke: they They're not bad. um Our old buddy, Magnus Bradbury. Yep. Ben Healy is interesting to me. I don't know if I want him, but he's kind of on that fence. So I guess if I had to pick one or the other right now without knowing what I need to know I'd say no but I would understand if someone wanted to go with him and then yeah the the the two back back way back three guys like Graham and do I'm like yeah you're gonna play I'm in in this situation because you want attacking points and that's what they do so there go um for too long uh Sinkler's being hardly picked right now I'm actually not even sure he's healthy but uh he's a no for me anyway right now because he's just not the same guy he used to be um
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah.
Jarrod Dyke: i'd I'd fuck with a ribeye though. I'd fuck with a Dave ribeye. That's for sure.
Grumpy Old Prop: h o
Jarrod Dyke: um Ben White, no. and I don't have enough.
Grumpy Old Prop: I miss fucking with a ribeye.
Jarrod Dyke: I'll let you know. um Garbisi, yeah, okay. I could see someone going with that. He'll kick. he tends to do he He does tend to love his boot a little bit, so you joe you could end up with some points on that one. And then Brex or Villier?
Jarrod Dyke: Options in the center and the back back three there.
Grumpy Old Prop: All
Jarrod Dyke: solid options at that so just ideas of the weeks
Grumpy Old Prop: right. And then we're into the of the weeks.
Grumpy Old Prop: um My start of the week is
Grumpy Old Prop: believe they're at home. a Shit, i I lost it. me see.
Jarrod Dyke: who we looking for hmm
Grumpy Old Prop: Yep, they're at home to a South African squad. um And I think one of the weaker South African squads in the comp, which, I mean, that's not saying a lot.
Grumpy Old Prop: Because the the weakest is still fucking strong.
Jarrod Dyke: it
Grumpy Old Prop: um But this guy is a fucking points eater. And, you know, he's got the right last name. So it'll be Jack Willis of Toulouse against the Hollywood Bets Sharks.
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah. ah to That's a good one. That's a good one. So i I'm going with a favorable matchup. They're on the road, but just had a good week last week on their for their club, and we know what a points machine this guy could be so I'm going go with Calabetti-Rubavo from from Bristol start of the week
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm-hmm. All
Grumpy Old Prop: right. And then Sid of the Week. um i kind of threw him out there, but he might actually start. I don't know why, but um don't put him on your team, and that's Jack Noel of La Rochelle versus Leicester.
Jarrod Dyke: hmm yeah
Grumpy Old Prop: Jack Noel is, like, at this point, five years beyond his sell-by date from or as ah as, like, a player, and then probably seven years past his sell-by date as a fantasy option.
Jarrod Dyke: yeah
Jarrod Dyke: yeah yeah yeah yeah um so this guy is highly has been highly picked in other competitions and he's actually not the best back rower to pick right now and it will be a tough matchup for him i think his team's gonna do well i don't think he'll find know i just don't think he'll find the points out there and i love the guy but my silly week's gonna be guy pepper
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm-hmm.
Grumpy Old Prop: Yeah, fair.
Jarrod Dyke: You know, right now, Reid, Underhill, and Bayless are all better point scorers from that bath back row. If that's what you want, those are the three you're going with. Pepper is just a step short, and I think Munster's going to take him a step lower, unfortunately.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm-hmm.
Jarrod Dyke: Plus, all he was basically able to do in the internationals was tackle, which isn't enough in this and this thing.
Grumpy Old Prop: Damn, Revovo is only a... He's only at four million. I'm sorry. I was looking at... Trying to find him. He's only at four million. He's absolutely... Yeah. What the fuck?
Jarrod Dyke: Yeah, he's a good pick. Yeah, probably likely going to end up in my team. As long as he starts.
Grumpy Old Prop: Right. Well, I don't think that'll be a problem.
Jarrod Dyke: long he starts. Yeah, I'm so i'm assuming he
Grumpy Old Prop: okay Yeah.
Jarrod Dyke: Alright, cool. So, we'll have sheets up on Friday. If you're listening to this, you're probably just getting news of a couple of the games on Friday.
Grumpy Old Prop: Mm-hmm.
Jarrod Dyke: So, bear with us. But we'll have the sheets up in full on Friday for you all to rip apart and make fun of us for, but Other than that, that we'll catch you guys next weekend. We appreciate you guys listening to us and supporting us. Have a good one, everyone.
Grumpy Old Prop: Later.
Jarrod Dyke: Cheers.
