Buy Low, Sell High Candidates

00:01:36
Speaker
We'll start off again with the opening drive. This week's opening drive is brought to you by no one. But we do have three buy lows and three sell high candidates we want to do Quick hitting for you this week.
00:01:51
Speaker
We'll get to get into them right away. First of all, first buy low, we have Ladd McConkie. For Ladd McConkie, if you look at his 2025-2024 numbers, he is on par or above in success rate, catches per game, and catch percentage.
00:02:06
Speaker
On the flip side, he has three fewer targets per game and a lower ADOT. But I think we all agree we trust the talent and still think there are better days ahead. going to be hard to find a cheaper buy-low option now with all the noise, the resurgence around Keenan Allen and even Quinton Johnson, who's able to catch the ball again.
00:02:23
Speaker
We all love Allen so much, but know he gets injured quite often. And TBD, how much can we trust Hugh Jay? Buy lad. This team throws the ball. They're eighth in pass attempts per game. There's enough to go around.
00:02:36
Speaker
Second by low, Brian Thomas Jr., 25 targets in three games, seven catches, an abominable 28% catch rate. It doesn't get worse than this.
00:02:47
Speaker
Oh, but it does actually. Weeks eight, nine, and 10 in 2024, BTJ had games of four, four, and two targets for a total of seven catches and 94 yards and one touchdown total in those three games.
00:03:01
Speaker
No one was panicking then. And in those ensuing seven games afterwards, he averaged seven catches and 96 yards and almost a touchdown per game. And spare us the Mac Jones being the wide receiver whisperer.
00:03:14
Speaker
i I don't believe that. I don't think we do either. Use the horrendous catch rate to get BTJ on the cheap, real cheap. And finally, the last by low, we have Chris Godwin. He was a WR3 through the first six to seven weeks in 2024 until his brutal leg injury.
00:03:30
Speaker
With Mike Evans potentially sidelined with a hamstring injury and an offense firing on all state cylinders that is still able to get Mike Evans, Emeka Abuka, and Sterling Sharp looks, Godwin could be had on the cheap.
00:03:43
Speaker
Just have one honorable mention quickly I want to get in at QB. Geno Smith, he's second in passing yards, fifth average depth of tar target. i think they're going to be throwing it deep and throwing it deep a lot as we saw against the commanders.
00:03:55
Speaker
Quickly, we'll get into three sell highs that if you have them, maybe try to get rid of them, see if you get even better value. We're going to start with Fab's boy, controversial Kyron Williams.
00:04:06
Speaker
His rush shares have decreased every week from 95% to 77% to 71%. to seventy seven percent to seventy one percent And Blake Coram's usage has increased. Five carries for 44 yards and a touchdown in week two. Eight carries for 53 yards in week three.
00:04:21
Speaker
If you're a set-up running back and need wide receiver help, Kyron could be worth dangling as the Rams tried to incorporate Coram more, who, by the way, should be owned in all formats. but second Second sell high, Javante Williams.
00:04:35
Speaker
Williams has been the lone bright spot for the Cowboys this season, but we're wary of his long-term outlook. Jaden Blue was inactive as weeks one and three and seems set to be active in week four. So they very much like the former Longhorn.
00:04:48
Speaker
There's also Miles Sanders who's gotten some good run as well, who's looked pretty decent. Javante could carve out a decent mid to low RB2 season, but he's actually currently acting as the RB6 in fantasy above Saquon Barkley, Chuba Hubbard, and Bucky Irving.
00:05:04
Speaker
We don't see that continue continuing, so look to sell high. Finally, Knack your boy, DK Metcalf. Not necessarily a sell high, but the Erling signs have been a bit disappointing.
00:05:16
Speaker
He's been saved by TDs because otherwise, 10 catches, 135 yards to three games, nothing to scream home about. The Steelers are 25th in pass attempts per game, and Aaron Rodgers is 40th in air yards per pass attempt at 2.3. That is not suited to DK Metcalf's game.
00:05:34
Speaker
DK on brand on name brand alone can potentially dangled as still holding WR2 value while currently being deployed as a WR3. And a final honorable mention at QB, Bo Nix seems to be running a training wheels offense. Very poor deep ball accuracy.
00:05:50
Speaker
Still tons of stuff at the line relying on yards after catch with his wide receiver. Has looked a bit rough. He's been saved by touchdowns. He could be a good sell high candidate as well. That is your opening drive for this week.
00:06:03
Speaker
Any quick thoughts, guys? I like them, actually. um The one in particular, for sure on the sell high, would be the Kyron Williams. That's a really good one. I know that they've been trying to get Korn more involved. And as you alluded to, they have been.
00:06:18
Speaker
And um honestly, the buy lows, the Brian Thomas buy low is is perfect. The people who are right now scared, um the draftees at that point,
00:06:29
Speaker
that drafted him to to do, you know, put up solid numbers are probably scared right now. Maybe some of them are one and two or three. So ah definitely a good guy to go after. Out of all your bylaws, Brian Thomas Jr. is the one that I'm really concerned about and has nothing to do with Brian Thomas Jr. Has nothing to do with Liam Cohen.
00:06:50
Speaker
Has everything to do with Trevor Lawrence.
00:06:55
Speaker
i I don't see, I i honestly, like i the ah I'm I'm concerned about that offense better. And i don't know what's going on with Trevor Lawrence, quite frankly. I know the offensive has changed quite a bit, but there are weapons there.
00:07:09
Speaker
And sure. You want to say that there's been a lot of drops that can fall on the hands of the wide receivers. Fine. I'll give you that. But I'm, I'd be concerned with Brian Thomas jr. Even if you do buy low on him, I, I don't know. ah The outlook for me is put it this way.
00:07:25
Speaker
I'm not targeting Brian Thomas Jr. as a by-law candidate myself. So that's what I sent today. Out of 270 qualifying QBs since 2020, the Dragars receivers through week three have the number one highest drop weight and the highest rate of total receiver error. So 32% of Lawrence's incompletions are on his receivers.
00:07:48
Speaker
Yeah. but That's a big number. it though It's on both. yeah it's on And you saw like Liam Coleman, I think it was the second game. He was like hitting his chest, like telling Lawrence, like hit them in stride, get more accurate. So I think i think for for for Thomas Jr., it's definitely their confidence issue, going over the middle.
00:08:06
Speaker
I think that'll correct itself. The drops ten tend to correct themselves. I don't think he has a Marvin Harrison Jr. drop problem, which... you know we can talk about later, Harrison is a clear issue at the catch point that hundred even he had at college.
00:08:19
Speaker
yes um But we'll see. i think I think these are all six players that you know could go swing one way or another. But we'll see. If you guys have any other players that you're considering as buy lows or sell high, please

Love-Hate Segment for Week 4

00:08:31
Speaker
ah let us know on social media. We'd love we love to hear it.
00:08:34
Speaker
We're going to move on to our next segment, our usual love-hate picks for week four. um We'll look back at last week. So last week, actually, ah redemption week for your Bush League huddle boys.
00:08:44
Speaker
10-5 after I believe we went, what? What did we go? Like 3-12 the week before? it was Let's not talk about the week before. Yeah, let's just let's just not talk about it. ah Look, we got to be accountable. We were four and eleven So we got to be accountable.
00:08:57
Speaker
We did much better. We'll go through it. Fab, you were 3-2. You hit on Sam Donald as a love. You missed out on Aaron Rodgers and Zachary as a love. You hit also on Jake Browning and Bo Nix as hates.
00:09:09
Speaker
So that got you to 3-2. Nak, a group beautiful 4-1 record. You did not sandbag at all. You did not cheat with players who are top 10 players. Yeah.
00:09:21
Speaker
Here we go. why was like Why am I branded this? Notice how goes 4-1. You but you've been very good this year. Notice how he goes 4-1 on the week that doesn't have any spicy takes. I don't know. i think it's yeah Is it a coincidence? Maybe i think not.
00:09:35
Speaker
I think not. Nak, you hit on two out of your three loves with Cam Scadaboo and Jordan Mason. You had Harold Fannin as a love, but he didn't pan out. Then you hit on both hates, RJ Harvey and Trevion Henderson, although I think Trevion Henderson...
00:09:49
Speaker
It's going to be maybe the last time we see him in the hits. hit on that, and he scored a touchdown. yeah That just shows you how bad he he was Yeah, yeah. And even I, ah three and two, I hit on my lone or one out of three loves in Elik Ayomanor, who scored a touchdown.
00:10:07
Speaker
i missed out on Troy Franklin and Jatavion Sanders. I think I pushed with DJ Moore. I think it was very, very on the fence, right? Like he had like 13, 14 projected points. He did get a touchdown, ah but he's still below his projection.
00:10:20
Speaker
Yeah. projection cha Travis Hunter, that one is becoming easier and easier. i hit on that hate as well. So week four, we got Knack doing the quarterbacks.
00:10:30
Speaker
I'm doing the running backs. Fab will do the wide receivers, and then we'll go roundtable on tight ends. Knack, I'll leave it up to you Hit us up with the quarterbacks for love-hate for week four.
00:10:42
Speaker
Yes, sir. Here we go. We'll start it off with Mr. Gino Smith as my love. As we aforementioned, Gino Smith at the beginning, currently going as QB 17 versus the Bears. So he's he's kind of had an up and down year, first three weeks of the season, 20 points, then drops down to six points and then 30 points in in week three. So little bit all over the place. So We're not always sure what we're going to get with Gino Smith, but um this week he gets a ah Chicago defense that gave up 24 points to JJ McCarthy and almost 40 points to ah Jared Goff.
00:11:17
Speaker
So therere they're giving up right now the third most points through the QBs through the first three weeks, and With Chicago's offense kind of coming to life, I think Gino is going to have to go toe-to-toe with Caleb. And um I think he should push for some top 10 numbers this week, ah Gino Smith. So ah definitely must start in a um two QB formats and even think about starting him in one QB formats as well.
00:11:43
Speaker
Gentry's inefficiency is an amazing value to Gino Smith. Maybe Trey Tucker. ah TBD, Fab, what did you want to say?
00:11:53
Speaker
ah just It's not Gentry's inefficiency. Can we just... Here we go. ah No, but like three games in, we can't call the guy like it's inefficiency. The guy's getting he's he's getting contact before he hits the line of scrimmage.
00:12:07
Speaker
I just want to put it I agree. want to put that out there. That's all. I agree. But you have anything to about Gino Smith? I'm sorry? you have anything to say about Gino Smith? I'm starting him this week. I love him. He's a love for me too. and There you go.
00:12:19
Speaker
He's a love for me too. Chicago give up the third most fancy points to opposing quarterbacks. Let's go, Gino. What you said, Nak, about Gino, that's Gino Smith football. it's It looks great one week. I had him last week, last year.
00:12:31
Speaker
The ride is is roller coaster, but hard to disagree with ah that take. Who's your second love at quarterback? So this one might be in a little bit of a a shocker to people, but I like Tua Tagovailoa.
00:12:47
Speaker
Consensus QB number 25 this week going on Monday night at home versus the Jets. So... Might not be the same player. I know Roger you mentioned it earlier, post-hip injury and you know not to mention the 17 concussions he's had as well.
00:13:03
Speaker
um So he does seem to play a little bit more scared at times and you know, you can't really blame him. The the the guy is, ah you know, worried about one more concussion and that's that's a career. So he's thrown only five TDs, though, through three games. So that's kind of alarming and also has four INTs and has at least one in each week with two coming in week one, I believe.
00:13:25
Speaker
um But if there was ever a get right game, it's this one and already... Although they limited Josh Allen, um, they let a 41 year old Aaron Rogers put up 30 fantasy points against them and currently giving up the ninth, um, most fantasy points to QBs.
00:13:41
Speaker
And I sense a big game coming from Tua, if not only to save his coach's job, um, they absolutely cannot lose to the Jets at home on Monday night. So I think if they have a chance of winning, um, and coming big game from, from Tua, and I think, uh,
00:13:59
Speaker
I think and in two QB leagues, he can be, he can be started. It'd be skeptical in one QB leagues. It'd be tough to to to start two over what you've got, but in two QB leagues, I think he's worth a start this week. The Jets have been extremely disappointing.
00:14:13
Speaker
Very. I mean, are we surprised? We're not surprised, but considering they got Aaron Glenn, they brought some of the Detroit staff. I was expecting a lot better, whether maybe not necessarily their offense, but less definitely their defense.
00:14:25
Speaker
And your point, NAC, it's been, it's look, I think it's a fair start. ah Hard to trust Tua, obviously. I'm glad he's not on my team because he's a concussion away from just you know destroying your team.
00:14:39
Speaker
But the matchup is definitely there. Who do you have as your first hate at QB? So my first hate this week ah is going to be that Prescott versus the Packers on Sunday Night Football. i like this. Currently going as consensus consensus fantasy pros ranking of QB 15.
00:15:01
Speaker
So the Cowboys are just not a great football team right now. I think we could all agree on that. um He also just lost his favorite target in CeeDee Lamb for the next about what four to six weeks to a high ankle sprain.
00:15:13
Speaker
And he now faces a Green Bay team that not only has a familiar face in Mika Parsons, who will be hungry and to have a dominant game and also get Dak on the ground, um but also a D that's held pocket passers like Jared Goff and Joe Flacco to 12.9 and 4.6 points respectively.
00:15:33
Speaker
And they're also giving up the third fewest points at QBs through three weeks. So it's going to be a long night, I feel, for ah For Dak under the lights. And if you have better options, even in two QB leagues, I'd bench him in week four.
00:15:47
Speaker
This is going to be a ah tough one. I think he gets destroyed on Sunday night. Yeah, I think this is a great call. And Green Bay has been playing lights out ever since they got Mika Parsons. like Their defense looks legit.
00:15:59
Speaker
And to your point, Nak, they're going to come hungry to put this as a statement game against the Dallas Cowboys, 100%.
00:16:08
Speaker
Concerning Stadford Prescott, his lowest yards per attempt in his career is 6.3. Considering the Pickens acquisition, considering he had CeeDee Lamb for two and a half games, quite and quite concerning.
00:16:24
Speaker
feels like he's getting pressure a lot. so Motivated Parsons, I'm curious to see how that will what how that will go. Oh, yeah. He's going to he's gonna want to kill someone. He's going to living in Dak Prescott's pocket the whole night. Yeah.
00:16:37
Speaker
Yeah, I think Dak's going to be running for his life a little bit on on Sunday. Give me your last one of ah for the quarterbacks next. Yeah, so my last one is going to be ah Michael Penix Jr. Consensus QB 20 versus the Redskins.
00:16:55
Speaker
Sorry, something in my throat. Commanders. um It's been a rough start for the second-year QB. i mean, he did face you know the Vikings and Panthers D who are giving up the second and and also the fewest points to QBs through three weeks. But Penix has one passing touchdown on the season, ah which came in week one.
00:17:15
Speaker
um And he was also benched in favor of Kirk Cousins last week in ah in a blowout loss to the Panthers. So if you drafted him to be your QB2 in two QB leagues, I would say it's time to sound the alarms a little bit.
00:17:28
Speaker
um The Falcons have 100 million reasons to make the switch back to Kirk Cousins if they think that gives them the best chance to win. And with a bye week in week five, this is a pivotal week for Penix.
00:17:40
Speaker
And we know our pressure is not his strong suit. So I don't see Panics having a great game here against the Commanders and then potentially being benched ahead of their ah week six game after the bye.
00:17:54
Speaker
Similar to Bryce Young.
00:17:57
Speaker
Concerning numbers with him as well, the completion percentage is very bad. Very low. I question how the fit of this offense, he's a deep passer. ah trying to make like a timing Shanahan McVay type offense for him.
00:18:10
Speaker
Cause the it Zach Robinson who worked with McVay. So I questioned that aspect as well. ah He's, he's like a do not start. So it's as much as we try not to so agree all the time. These are, I would all four these. I would strongly agree with knack. I want to just give a very quick honorable mention.
00:18:28
Speaker
Jalen hurts against the bucks. The Bucs have been his absolute kryptonite over the last three games. In three games, last three games, 550 passing yards, three touchdowns, three interceptions, 71.5 QB rating.
00:18:43
Speaker
He's literally only been saved by touchdowns. And even then, he's way below his projections. I'll be very curious to see if Hertz is able to kind of overcome the the the beast that is the Bucs defense that has been against him.
00:18:58
Speaker
Interesting. Great call. I believe it is my turn now with the running backs. Yes, it is my turn for the running backs. So first running back, I love this week. This will be a shocker, but I love Chase Brown running back 19 at Denver on Monday Night Football.
00:19:15
Speaker
oh Last week, 10 carries, 3 yards, 0.3 yards per carry. Great start, right? Great start in terms of my argument for Chase Brown. Even on the season, even better story on the season, he's at 2 yards per carry.
00:19:27
Speaker
So I think we'd all agree he has not returned round two value. Where I think he can have value, the Broncos D has given up 50 yards receiving to Jonathan Taylor and 59 yards receiving to Marion Hapton.
00:19:39
Speaker
We know those are not pass-catching running backs. And Brown had 54 catches last year. Both running backs also did fared pretty well against the Broncos D. I see the Bengals needing to run on the quick passing game with their poor offensive line and a lot of pressure that the Broncos provide.
00:19:58
Speaker
I think Brown will have a okay game on the ground. I think he'll save himself in PPR with a six to seven catch game and pretty solid yardage. So I like him in PPR.
00:20:10
Speaker
Round two value, you have no choice. You still have to start him. i don't think I don't think you can afford to sit him yet. But after this week, it's it's make or break for Brown, I think. Is he another buy low candidate?
00:20:21
Speaker
Yes, I believe so. Yes. Yeah. I heard a lot of a lot of other, like ah some of matt the Matt Hartman podcast, few other podcasts we're seeing. He was definitely a by-low candidate going forward, and I would agree with that.
00:20:34
Speaker
Second running back, I love ah Nick Chubb, consensus running back 33 versus the Titans. On the year, Chubb has 34 carries for 141 yards.
00:20:46
Speaker
Steady production so far hasn't necessarily popped, but the Titans give up the second most fantasy points to running backs currently in the league, and they're giving up 5.3 yards per carry against running backs so well.
00:21:01
Speaker
Sorry, Nick? That's surprising. Yeah, I think we all thought their defense was going to be better as well. the front is usually really good. Yeah, Jeffrey Simmons and and so on and so forth. usually a bend but don't break type of defense. Yes, yes.
00:21:13
Speaker
um They just got jet gashed by Jonathan Taylor and they gave up TDs to Blake Corum and J.K. Dobbins. I think this is a good bounce back spot for the Texans, for C.J. Stroud.
00:21:26
Speaker
I even think Woody Marks could have some viable upside in deep leagues. So... Get right game for Chubb. i think the Titans are prime against running backs so far this year.
00:21:38
Speaker
Chubb, for all of his limitations, right? He hasn't looked that bad. Like he's looked mediocre. He's looked average. Hasn't looked what you expect him to look. But considering what he went through and where how he's playing right now, like he he's been putting up some decent flex numbers, I want to say.
00:21:54
Speaker
I like him as an RB2 this week. I think this is a good matchup for him. You take a running back who is extremely gifted athletically, chop off like what, 30, 40% of his athleticism.
00:22:05
Speaker
He's still probably ah more athletic than like 20, 30% of the running backs in the league. Yeah. He was freak of nature. Yes. Yes.
00:22:16
Speaker
In terms of the running backs that I hate, David Montgomery, current RB30 consensus versus Cleveland. So the Browns are allowing the second fewest fantasy points to running backs and the second fewest rushing yards allowed in the league so far.
00:22:31
Speaker
They held Derrick Henry to 11 for 23, Josh Jacobs to for to 21 for 43. and chase brown to twenty one for forty three Myles Garrett is on another defensive player of the year run. And even fifth overall pick, Mason Graham, has been absolutely awesome. I think he had a 43% pressure rate against Jordan Love in the last game.
00:22:50
Speaker
Don't chase last week. think Montgomery gets stonewalled despite the 151 yards. I think that's a trap spot. And he is on my hate list so far this week.
00:23:02
Speaker
Yeah, that's a good point about the trap spot because actually Baltimore, after last week, now give up the most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Yes. the extreme sense Both backs got two touchdowns each.
00:23:15
Speaker
Yeah. It's a bit of an outlier, but still, right? I mean, this is not the, I don't think this is the Baltimore of old where they had a proper run defense. That's another one. I have no idea what's wrong with Baltimore's defense. Same.
00:23:29
Speaker
They look like a shot of themselves, honestly. Well, I tweeted out today. I'm here for it as ah as a Steelers fan. I'm definitely here for it. And I hope they go one and three this week when they play the Chiefs. But yeah, something's off with them.
00:23:40
Speaker
I tweeted out today and I know saw Fab, I think you liked it or retweet. I think we have to have a conversation about John Harbaugh. Yeah. It's getting stale there and that defensive identity that they used to have is not there anymore.
00:23:52
Speaker
they have too much talent. Too much talent. Even on defense. There's a lot of talent on defense. There's so much talent on defense. It doesn't make any sense. they couldn't get to Although Jair Alexander hasn't played yet. Which could maybe change things. but Yeah, humph and Humphrey hasn't played well either. He's he's known he's gotten gashed pretty badly.
00:24:11
Speaker
My last hate at the running back position is Javante Williams running back 20 consensus versus the Packers. it's Look, it's been a nice bounce back season. think we've all agreed. There was some trepidations on drafting him, but the matchup is tough.
00:24:25
Speaker
The Packers are allowing the eighth fewest fantasy points to running backs. We saw them shut down Jameer Gibbs. Although he's not a running back, they schemed against Jaden Daniels very well. Yes, Quinshawn Jenkins was able to find room to the tune of 18 for 94. A lot of that came on one run.
00:24:42
Speaker
So as good of a field goal story as this is for Gervonta Williams, I expect Dallas to be trailing. And I think the ball will see and go to George Pickens and Jake Ferguson more so than Devonta.
00:24:55
Speaker
Davante, Javante, excuse me.
00:24:58
Speaker
Makes sense to me. 100%. And now that's it for my running backs that I love and hate. Fab, you are up with the wide receivers. and So it's my turn for the wide receivers. Ladies and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen, attach tatuk.
00:25:13
Speaker
Wear your hats, buckle your seatbelt. My first love for this week with wide receivers is Chris Olave at the Buffalo Bills. So first of all, can we just put some respect on this man's name, right?
00:25:26
Speaker
I mean, three straight games of 11 plus PPR points. He leads the league in targets with 37. Super high floor with the minimum of six receptions and 54 yards per game. Obviously, yeah not an amazing matchup versus the Bills, but Olavi is due for a TD and both Hill and Waddle hit pay dirt last week.
00:25:45
Speaker
Buffalo have given up four passing TDs this season, tied for third highest. The season is very young, but still. He's ranked as wide receiver 31, which is ridiculous in my opinion.
00:25:56
Speaker
I like him as a top 20 play, easy wide receiver too, especially if he hits pay dirt. He has a fantastic floor. I like him a lot this week. And honestly, I've come around a little bit on Chris Olave for the remainder of the season.
00:26:09
Speaker
He's actually turning into a very viable wide receiver, a startable wide receiver week in, week out. I got to give props to my boy.
00:26:19
Speaker
he always play that's It's the cut Alvin Kamara role. like He's just spamming himself to 10 catches for 57 yards. Do we not like those PPR points? We sure do. In our win column. is You know what we all have in common, guys?
00:26:33
Speaker
None of us have Chris Olave and we're all striving for wins right now. Yeah, you're in right. a Preach on, brother. Make for yourself. But you look at his stat line, 23-1, You think he's a running back.
00:26:45
Speaker
The stat line leaves a lot to be desired, but let me tell you, when those points translate in PPR, you ain't going to be complaining at all. And at wide receiver 31, there's a lot of guys that are like going ahead of him from a ranking perspective that I kind of like Olave more. Hey, 37 targets though through three games.
00:27:02
Speaker
He's not injured. He's getting targets. 10 for 57. They've been competitive in two out of the three games, I believe. Yeah, yeah, yeah they have. so And you have to assume he's finally creating a rapport with the quarterback, which is the most important thing.
00:27:15
Speaker
My second love for the week is the aforementioned Quinton Johnson at the New York Giants. So the Giants surrendered. These are all your favorite players.
00:27:26
Speaker
Yeah, pretty much. um Well, me and Quinton Johnson have to have some words, to be honest with you. If it doesn't work out with this love this week, i don't know if we're going to have a conversation again. That's a different conversation for next week's episode, I guess.
00:27:38
Speaker
So the Giants surrendered the second most receptions, 46, and yards, to opposing Johnston needs to be in your lineup after starting as hot as he has in the first three straight games. 71 yards or more, three straight games of seven targets or more.
00:27:54
Speaker
This week he's ranked as wide receiver 32, which is another WTF. Like, I don't get it. You know, he has a top 10 finish upside written all over this week. Giants defense is very, very, very no bueno.
00:28:08
Speaker
And to be honest, I would start every single charge of this game versus... Versus the Giants. I wouldn't be surprised if they all get in the end zone. I wouldn't be surprised if they all ball out. That secondary, unfortunately, is not coming as advertised.
00:28:21
Speaker
And maybe out of the three, one of them, when I'm referring to three, I mean like Quinton Johnson, Lamon Conkey, and Keenan Allen. One of them might have a bit more of a tougher game. um But apart from that, I mean, I don't see Quinton Johnson finishing as wide receiver 32 this week versus a very, very, very porous Giants defense.
00:28:43
Speaker
and feel like like you want to He was talking today about how the Giants defense was like really good. no i thought they didn't play well I didn't say really good. I said they've been playing better.
00:28:55
Speaker
okay I've been saying better. because i think I can't say they're really good when they give up 22 points to Washington and another 22 points to Kansas City that doesn't have a single wide receiver to throw to and giving up 40 points to the Dallas Cowboys.
00:29:10
Speaker
which like nine of those points or whatever, 12 of those points came from the kicker 60 yards away.
00:29:16
Speaker
I feel like this is a good game to start all three. I, yeah I fear it's going to be very hard to predict as much as we like lad as a by low candidate. It's going to be very hard to predict on a week to week basis. Honestly, I think lad is the odd man out. I think Keenan Allen coming into that offense really ate into lad's production out of the middle and and sort of the short yard stuff and all that stuff. Right. I think he's the,
00:29:41
Speaker
he's He's the odd man out a little bit because Quinton Johnson, his game has always been more of a deep stretch, really contested catch, even though it doesn't always catch properly type of game. So I don't see it hurting him long term for Quinton Johnson. And maybe this is finally the receiver that we all expected him to be after year one and year two.
00:29:59
Speaker
Hmm. But I wouldn't be too concerned, to be honest with you. Herbert trusts Keenan Allen. Yeah. He loves him. You can see there's a trust there. Third down, he's looking his way every time. It's shades of Brady and Edelman or Brady and Walker. You know what i mean? Like, it's just the guy that you trust and you always want to throw to. Or Rodgers and Randall Cobb for that one weird year. You know what i mean? like it's Yeah.
00:30:22
Speaker
Or Rodgers and DK Metcalf. Or Rodgers and DK. Who? Who? Actually, i he's he's coming up. Don't worry about it. But first. I keep doing this to you. But first. Here we go. So it's only been mentioned six times today.
00:30:35
Speaker
We got to get on the hate train, unfortunately, ladies and gentlemen. First hate is T. Higgins at the Denver Broncos. Oh, no. Spice. Yeah. ah risky Right now, he's a risky flex play at best with running under center versus another very good defense. Plus, they're away. They're not draftless.
00:30:53
Speaker
Yeah, pretty much. ah T is riding my bench this week, and to be honest, for the foreseeable future, I think Browning was chased all day last week versus the Vikings, and I don't think he'll have much more room this week versus the Broncos.
00:31:05
Speaker
I don't see it this week for T. It's a tough matchup on the road. Good D. He's a sit for me. Right now, he's ranked as wide receiver 33, and he could finish outside the top Wow, what a fall from grace, eh?
00:31:17
Speaker
33. It's unfortunate. Remember when he was going as the 10th Wide receiver off the board. And I drafted him. Fab, I'm curious, as a te higgin big Tee Higgins owner, and I have Jordan Addison in two leagues that I've been waiting on, would you rather start Jordan Addison against pick Pittsburgh right after suspension?
00:31:39
Speaker
Yes. I feel like he's going to be a guy a lot of people are going to be asking about. Yeah. No, i would start I would start Jordan. I think the ceiling is a lot higher for Jordan Addison. versus Because you have to figure, jordan not like and you can make the same argument for T. Higgins, right? like Jordan Addison is going to get potentially more looks because they might be focusing more on um Justin Jefferson. Again, the same argument applies for T. Higgins. I don't disagree.
00:32:01
Speaker
The difference is just the quarterback play. I think Carson Wentz is a better backup quarterback. And we saw it already last week too. He operated the offense pretty well. um KOC, man.
00:32:13
Speaker
Yeah. KOC also is a huge difference too, honestly. like He is the QB whisperer. I'm scared of Carson Wentz this weekend. Yeah. Yeah. and playeds He played quite well. Pittsburgh hasn't, they played well, but they don't scare you.
00:32:29
Speaker
And correct me if I'm wrong on this, but like, I'm not exactly petrified of Pittsburgh's D. I don't think many people are, but they did force five turnovers last week. Yeah. Yeah. No, they're going to have definitely good games, right? I mean, I'm not, that They're a good team, but I'm not, oh my God, it's Pittsburgh's team. They make plays when they need it.
00:32:45
Speaker
I think they the the break. They break and bend but don't break. They bend but don't break, but then when they have to make the big plays, like the Jalen Ramsey, he's there when he needs to make a big play.
00:32:57
Speaker
So i think that's that tackle that that tackle ah versus the jet the Jets. ah Yeah, there was a was a game that was a game breaking tackle right there. That was huge. Totally. Who's your other hate fa Well, but we're going to just stick on the Steelers, I guess, because why not? Apparently it's a Steelers podcast. We're going to go with DK Metcalf

Player Performance Concerns

00:33:13
Speaker
versus Minnesota. So DK really hasn't come as advertised.
00:33:17
Speaker
ah His receptions and yardages are fairly low. You could stop if you want, because Roger already agrees. i'm i'm just I got three more lines. He scored in back-to-back games, which could save him. However, Minnesota did shut down Jamar Chase, Drake London, DJ Moore.
00:33:34
Speaker
No wide receiver has caught more than six balls or hit 70 yards. So if he doesn't hit the end zone this week, i think it's going to be a tough showing for DK. I think it's a flex play for me.
00:33:45
Speaker
Right now he's ranked as... even find him. Wide receiver 26. So like he's right around there as wide receiver three. like I'd be very hesitant to start him unless I didn't have another option. Borderline flex play. And and again, similar to Tee Higgins, if he falls outside of that, I wouldn't be surprised. It's a tough matchup.
00:34:01
Speaker
Nak, quickly, just what's going on with that offense? and Look, I know they're two and one. It's a it's not like a panic situation, but it's not it's not come as advertised, in my opinion, Metcalf and Rodgers.
00:34:13
Speaker
I don't even blame Metcalf or Rogers. It's the offensive line. He has no time to throw the ball. He's hit on almost every drop back. And they're saying, and on Roethlisberger's football and podcast, he actually said it too. Like you can't have that offensive line. Like he doesn't even, they're they're scared to go to to call plays to throw balls down the field because he doesn't have time to throw like with that 2.3 second window. The ball's got to be out or he's getting destroyed. Yeah.
00:34:42
Speaker
The offensive line, they they invested a lot on that O-line and they're they're not getting the return on the investment that they that they thought they were going to. It sounds like 2021 Big Ben.
00:34:57
Speaker
Like when, like just get the ball out as soon as possible. and that's what we're seeing in terms of the number of air yards. So to your point, I think so far it hasn't been as advertised at all. Correct. Thank you very much.
00:35:09
Speaker
Thank you very much, Fab, for your wide receivers. Those were quite spicy as you and Nak like to say. We're going go with the tight ends. Nak, you want to start us off with your tight end of the week?
00:35:22
Speaker
Sure. If you want spicy, I've got spicy. Uh-oh. My hate this week is going to be Mr. Sam Laporta. Consensus tight end number six.
00:35:35
Speaker
So after he had a nine target and almost 14 fantasy point week day in in week one, Laporta has followed it up with eight total targets and 11 fantasy points the next two weeks.
00:35:47
Speaker
And as we've seen, Detroit wants to run the football and rely a lot on both on Gibbs and Montgomery. And then you have Jamison Williams there with a deep ball thread and Amon Rob being, you know, their big play slash possession wide receiver.
00:36:01
Speaker
doesn It doesn't leave too much on the bone for Laporta. So the Browns, um, have been about middle of the pack versus the, the tight ends and have allowed, um,
00:36:11
Speaker
two TDs through the position through three weeks, but I think the Lions continue to lean on their other playmakers, and i think Laporta just becomes too volatile to trust but so coming with such a high ranking. So I'd look for another option and in week four.
00:36:27
Speaker
The door is shut for Sammy the Door.
00:36:32
Speaker
Sammy the Door? Sam Laporta.
00:36:36
Speaker
That's all. That's all. That's all. For our Italian listeners, that including myself, that even went over my head. We're all Italian on this podcast. Come on. Oh, it's true. We're all Italian on this podcast. Oh God, no. One by association. Oh, no. Sure. Okay. Yeah. by so I'll take by association. and Definitely not by by blood or by color.
00:36:56
Speaker
Your kids are Italian. Yeah. they And don't forget it. Half, half. um But the better. Yeah. we we said We said it. The Cleveland defense is has been fantastic. It's keeping them in games and it's hard to argue. It's been legit. It's been very good.
00:37:10
Speaker
Very, very good. Jim Schwartz knows how to coach up a defense. And Garrett's garret's on a roll. Fab, who do you have for your tight end? i got a little bit of a spicy take. I got a tight end love this week. um There's no more hate for me. I got a tight end love. I got Mark Andrews at the Kansas City Chiefs.
00:37:29
Speaker
And you're going to say, okay, but you know what? The Kansas City Chiefs are giving up the third fewest fantasy points at tight ends. And Mark Andrews' first two games were under two fantasy points. You're right. First two games were washed.
00:37:40
Speaker
He lit up Detroit on Monday Night Football for easily his best game the season. And why can't that continue versus another tough opponent? Kansas City have given up only eight receptions, 102 yards, and zero touchdown to opposing tight ends.
00:37:55
Speaker
But who were those tight ends? ah Are you making your case? I'm going to get that. Who were those tight ends? Tyler Conklin, Grant Cacatera, Kylan Granson, and Theo Johnson. Not exactly the who's who's of tight ends.
00:38:09
Speaker
Plus, PFF has KC's linebacker coverage graded ranked 29th out of 32. He's ranked as tight end 16 this week. And I think he should easily be in lineups over a bunch of guys ahead of him.
00:38:22
Speaker
For example, going name off a few right now. David Njoku, Harold Fannin Jr., Kyle Pitts Travis Kelsey even, Hunter Henry.
00:38:36
Speaker
have one. Isaiah Likely. What about him? He's back. and Not an injury report. 12 targets, nine receptions, 111 yards against the Chiefs last year with a touchdown.
00:38:49
Speaker
Yeah. Okay, fine. So Baltimore tight ends is my love this week. Okay. How about that? Does that make everybody feel better? Can I have one love, Raj? Jesus, man.
00:39:01
Speaker
Jesus, go back to not being Italian. Oh, that's funny. That's funny. Ladies and gentlemen, we are two Italian men on this podcast, not three. okay That works for me. Hand in your WAP card.
00:39:13
Speaker
Oh, wow. but like Mark Andrews, all right? He came up, he showed out. Leave him alone. I don't even disagree with you. Apparently you don't. No, man.
00:39:26
Speaker
Thank God. We're having such a nice podcast. Everything was going well. We're going to have even nicer podcast because my tight end is a love as well. Mason Taylor, tight end 31 at Miami.
00:39:38
Speaker
So Monday Night Football at Miami, this is kind of a homecoming game for him, actually. you may or may not know his dad, Jason Taylor, Dolphin Legend. The Dolphins have also allowed the third most fantasy points to tight ends through three weeks.
00:39:53
Speaker
Even his usage for a second round rookie with the Jets, he's seen snap shares of 88%, 71%, and 74% over the course of the past three weeks.
00:40:03
Speaker
And last week, he was tied for the team in targets with six, and he almost had a 25-yard touchdown. Tyrod Taylor missed him. he ran a beautiful corner route against the Bucs. He's the he's a tight end streamer of the week for me.
00:40:17
Speaker
I'm even putting money on him for any time touchdown. He's getting a touchdown homecoming against Miami. His aunt, Joy Taylor, will probably be there as well. so I was going to say, he's getting more love than his aunt right now. That's amazing. Good for him.
00:40:34
Speaker
Nah, not me, man. Joy Taylor will always get more love.
00:40:41
Speaker
Great. Great way to end. Great way to end. Great way to end. Fantastic. That is another fun. You see, we have fun. try to have fun. try to have some laughs. We try to give insight.
