00:00:24
Fab
Welcome back to another episode of the Bush League Huddle Fantasy Football Podcast. This is week eight. Love, hate. How we doing? If you're asking me, I'm not doing all that great.
00:00:36
Fab
Got a two and five record right now, but it's okay. We're still rolling. We're still rolling. We're doing what we can. We're here to... Once again, go over interesting statistics and data points for you for all of everything that's happened in week seven.
00:00:51
Fab
We're here to get the ball rolling and get you guys primed for Bi-Mageddon of week eight. There's a lot of teams on by and it's it's not a lot of fun if you got these guys on your roster and you're and you're like me, you're trying to make a push for the playoffs even though you won't be able to do very much when you get in there.
00:01:07
Fab
This is a feast or famine time right now, ladies and gentlemen, but it's okay. We got a jam packed episode like we always do. We're going to run through a bunch of topics for you. ah Most importantly, though, before we get rolling, like we always do, we have to please remind our loyal listeners. That's you guys.
00:01:22
Fab
You guys listening right now. You guys that listen to us every single week. Please don't forget to follow us on YouTube. Spotify, Apple Podcasts, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, or X as the kids call it nowadays.
00:01:34
Fab
Follow us for your weekly fantasy football breakdowns. We're here all season, guys. Doesn't matter if it's We Cake. We're here all season. Send us your waiver questions. Send us your sit-start questions. Send us your trade proposal questions. Don't forget the trade deadline right around the corner.
00:01:48
Fab
And if you've got to make that move to put you in the fantasy football playoffs, or maybe you just need to make that move to you know shore up a position on your team that's not as strong as you would like it to be, send it over. Send it over to us. We've got a little group chat going on. We talk to each other on the daily.
00:02:04
Fab
We know what's going on. We'll give you good advice, we promise. But you never know you're never to know until you ask. So send us those trade questions right now. We'll give you guys the answers that you've been dying to get.
00:02:15
Fab
But before we get that ball rolling, really want to thank everybody for listening in. It's been a great journey so far. We're eight weeks in. We're going to be here for another eight weeks or so. With that being said, think it's time for the opening drive.
00:02:28
Nacc
Pew pew pew.
00:02:30
Roger Emeka
That's a good sound effect. I like it. I like it a lot. And it is time for the week eight.
00:02:33
Fab
Pew pew!
00:02:35
Roger Emeka
out Green 18. Week 8 opening drive, target and rush share report, committee backfields, and wider receiver rooms and flux.
00:02:39
Fab
Omaha! Omaha!
00:02:44
Roger Emeka
We begin with the division of labor with Rasheed Rice being back in the fold. So the Chiefs wasted no time getting Rasheed Rice involved after suspension. 28.6% target share on only 19 routes run out of 35 dropbacks.
00:03:01
Roger Emeka
He went 7 for 43 for two touchdowns. Behind him, we saw Brashard Smith with a 14% target share. Worthy and Hollywood Brown with 11%, Kelsey only 9%. Rice's ADOT average depth of target was at 4.3 yards. So very short area, high volume looks.
00:03:18
Roger Emeka
Brashard Smith went five for 42. All those came at the line of scrimmage from a passing perspective. He's starting to eat into Pacheco and Hunt's touches. So i'd be very wary of that. I think the key takeaway here is Rice and Smith could possibly be the key to the Chiefs in the underneath game.
00:03:36
Roger Emeka
Hollywood Brown to me is unplayable. He's owned in 44% of rosters. He should be dropped immediately. And I'd be worried of Kelsey losing underneath touches with a rice back and Brashard Smith in the fold as well.
00:03:49
Roger Emeka
Moving on very promising signs for Travis Hunter this week. He finally hit. He went eight for 101 and a touchdown. If you look at his snap shares over the last four weeks, 57, 65, 79, 86%.
00:04:02
Roger Emeka
seventy nine eighty six percent Meanwhile, you look on the other end, have Brian Thomas Jr. He's leading the league in drops. He's only played 60% of the snaps in week seven versus the Rams.
00:04:12
Roger Emeka
He's really struggling with going over the middle and catching balls. And the chemistry with Trevor Lawrence has not been there. If you go back to Hunter, don't know about you guys, but I've seen him being dropped everywhere, including the Bush League Huddle in our Bush League Huddle Fantasy Football League.
00:04:23
Nacc
Thank you.
00:04:26
Fab
Yep. Yep. Yep.
00:04:27
Roger Emeka
He's been dropped multiple times as well. I think that stops now.
00:04:29
Fab
yeah
00:04:31
Roger Emeka
He's earned a roster spot in your rosters. The Jaguars are on by in week eight, and I think he is coming with a vengeance as the number one wide receiver in Jacksonville. Now we're going to move on to some backfields to forget to forget. So we have the Titans. I was a big promoter of Tajay Spears taking over Tony Pollard as the main back with the regime change in Brian Callahan being out at Tennessee. If you look at week seven versus the Pats, Pollard played seven more snaps and ran seven more routes than Spears.
00:04:59
Roger Emeka
In week six, it was the flip side. Spears had more routes and more snaps. Titans right now have no identity on offense. Cam Ward has looked worse every week. Spears routinely has been the better back, even though he's been injured. And even if you go back to last year at the end of the year, Spears has looked at like the better back, but they don't play him.
00:05:16
Roger Emeka
It's a backfield to avoid at all costs. This is one in the Texans now moving forward to another backfield to forget. This is one that I have near and dear as a Woody Marks and Nick Chubb owner. But Woody Marks actually tipped the cake in week seven over Chubb.
00:05:29
Roger Emeka
you look at his stats in week seven versus the Seahawks, Woody Marks had 61% snap share, 10 carries, 10 out of 15 running back carries. He ran 20 routes for five targets.
00:05:40
Roger Emeka
He did have 35 yards and a late game touchdown, 12.5 fantasy points, and RB 16 on the week. On the flip side, Chubb went five carries for 16 yards and only played 18 snaps.
00:05:51
Roger Emeka
So again, this is one that's going to be very hard to predict. Looks like it's a back and forth situation on on a weekly basis. Another backfield to avoid if you can. And then before we hit some quick hitters on the opening drive, we have a weekly Dowdle and Hubbard watch, a true 50-50 split this week.
00:06:08
Roger Emeka
So in terms of snaps, Dowdle versus Hubbard, it was 38 to 33 Dowdle. Routes, to as well. rush rush share fifty five to forty five percent doubedly as well Uh, in Daudo went 17 carries for 79 yards at 4.6 average Hubbard 14 carries for 31 yards. So clearly Rico Daudo was the more effective back.
00:06:30
Roger Emeka
It was still a 50 50 split from a points perspective. No one scored touchdowns, but obviously Daudo had more of the yardage share. I think the key takeaway here is they're going to keep splitting, touches.
00:06:42
Roger Emeka
It was literally one players playing one series. And then it was, it was the other one playing the next series after think if you own both, Try to maybe trade one of them. If you're one of an owner who owns that one, another one owns another one.
00:06:54
Roger Emeka
It's hard to to not sit either one because they're both two talented backs. And then finally, some quick hitters. i want to talk about Jordan Addison. He's been at 100 receiving yards in two of the last three games. He's actually outscored Justin Jefferson in six out of the last 11 games.
00:07:10
Roger Emeka
He's a bona fide WR2 with defenses clearly blanketing JJ. Then you have Trevion Henderson, whose running back snap share has gone down over the last three weeks from 48 to to 14% in week seven.
00:07:24
Roger Emeka
Ramondre has clearly reestablished himself as the guy for the Titans. We're going move on to Jamison Williams. I'm calling it right now. He's completely unplayable. Five games under seven fantasy points.
00:07:36
Roger Emeka
Lions have completely embraced themselves being a running team. And really, it's just Amon Ra St. Brown being the guy. Even Sam Laporta is hard to trust as well.
00:07:48
Roger Emeka
Some good news from Chris Olave. think he should be in lineups every week. Seven plus targets in six of the past seven games this year. 27 points versus the Bears. Two touchdowns. And Rattler has been able to establish two to three guys in Jawan Johnson, Chris Olave, and even Rashid Shahid here and there.
00:08:04
Roger Emeka
And then finally, we talked a little bit about Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker. The third last week, Charbonnet had two touchdowns this week. He got most of the goal line work again and over 50% of the snaps.
00:08:18
Roger Emeka
Like we said last week, we think this will start moving towards Walker next week after the bye. But if it doesn't, I think this is an area where you're going to have to either avoid this running this backfield or take Walker at a loss at some point.
00:08:32
Fab
Yeah. Not yet.
00:08:33
Roger Emeka
And that's all we have for the opening drive. Trend and usage report for week seven. NAC, please take us home with week eight. Love, hate.
00:08:41
Nacc
Well done, Raj. Well done. And I just, wonder one quick question before we get into the love-hate section here. um Trevion Henderson, is he droppable at this point?
00:08:52
Nacc
with the usage being so bad and and them not wanting to use them?
00:08:57
Roger Emeka
I don't think so. I think that's early.
00:08:58
Fab
yeah know yeah
00:09:00
Roger Emeka
um But there was also some after-the-game stuff about how Mike Rabel was congratulating another... I don't remember his name, but there was another running back that even got more work than Travion Henderson during the Titans game.
00:09:13
Roger Emeka
And there was a lot of stuff on Twitter about how... Henderson might be third on that running back depth chart. The the guy's name ah escapes me, but um I just don't think you drop a guy that there they know they're high on and that they picked in the second round.
00:09:30
Roger Emeka
i think he's a hold for now.
00:09:31
Nacc
Interesting. i i'll be I'm just it's a bit seeing that with the upcoming 16 buys that leading into week eight, your rosters might be crowded and ah might be that might be one of the difficult decisions some of us will have to make.
00:09:38
Roger Emeka
Yeah, that's good point.
00:09:39
Fab
Yeah.
00:09:46
Nacc
But on to the love-hate for week eight. So it's time to go over all of our love-hate picks from last week.
00:09:58
Nacc
um But before that, we will highlight, like i we mentioned or Fab alluded to at the beginning, it is Bi-Mageddon this week with six teams on by. We have the Cardinals, Lions, Jaguars, Raiders.
00:10:10
Nacc
Rams and Seahawks. So a lot of solid fantasy players within those teams. We'll go through our record of last week. We went a solid and very healthy 10 and five last week.
00:10:25
Nacc
So very, very nice boys.
00:10:26
Fab
Let's go.
00:10:29
Nacc
Our record overall record for the year is now 53, 46 and two. So that is definitely trending in the right direction. Fab, you had wins with Tez Johnson, Kishon Booty, and um also the hate of Travis Kelsey.
00:10:44
Fab
but but but
00:10:48
Nacc
I think um Raj alluded to it before. His snap share is way down, or his target share, should I say. But you did lose on a hate um for Devontae Smith and your boy Wandel Robinson, unfortunately, who continues to be impressive fantasy-wise anyways.
00:11:01
Fab
I'm very happy with the loss on that hate for Wando Robinson.
00:11:08
Roger Emeka
do I get credit for the Devante, Devante Smith hate?
00:11:10
Nacc
You do. You do.
00:11:11
Roger Emeka
Cause like,
00:11:12
Fab
Can...
00:11:12
Nacc
We will give you your flowers. um You did mention that every time you want to bench him, ah he's going to go off and went off.
00:11:14
Fab
Can... Yep. Yep.
00:11:19
Nacc
He did. So, um,
00:11:21
Fab
yeah Can I just, ah for the remainder of the season, how would you guys feel about just putting Devontae Smith as a firm love? just so that we can give Lucas a little bit of acid for the rest of the season.
00:11:32
Fab
Because we then we do know that after that, if he is a love every single week, he does not perform. Lucas, if you're listening, we we really do appreciate you.
00:11:37
Roger Emeka
You know,
00:11:40
Fab
We really do. But...
00:11:41
Roger Emeka
I benched him another league. and didn't even follow my advice. Yep.
00:11:45
Nacc
Wow.
00:11:45
Fab
Yeah. No, won't.
00:11:46
Nacc
Well, you definitely paid the price that one. Raj, you were the big winner over last week going four and one hitting on loves for Ramondre Stevenson, Woody Marks and Cade Auten also hit on the hate for Brees Hall. That ah Jets offense is just in complete disarray right now.
00:12:05
Roger Emeka
Yep.
00:12:06
Fab
Oh, yeah.
00:12:06
Nacc
And you did lose on the hate for Bam Knight. I believe he did score a touchdown or,
00:12:13
Roger Emeka
No, he just he was above his projection. but Or no, I don't think he was above.
00:12:15
Nacc
above his projection.
00:12:16
Roger Emeka
He was very low. I think he was like at nine points.
00:12:19
Fab
No, he hit his projection.
00:12:19
Nacc
Yeah. something
00:12:20
Roger Emeka
Oh, he did? Oh. oh
00:12:21
Fab
Yeah.
00:12:22
Nacc
Yeah. Yeah. He, why? Yeah, he did. He did definitely hit his projection. Um, I went three and two hit on the love of Mr. Aaron Rogers, almost 30 point game on Thursday night in a heartbreaking loss.
00:12:36
Nacc
Also hit on the hates of Tagovailoa. I don't even think he had one point. I think he finished with 0.7. point seven depending on what your scoring league is and the hate of Mac Jones.
00:12:46
Fab
My god.
00:12:47
Nacc
I did lose out on a love for Sam Darnold. ah They had a ah tricky night last night, even though they did they did win. He had one touchdown, but was fairly ineffective for the rest of the game and lost on the aforementioned Tyler Higbee tight end love.
00:13:05
Nacc
Got a lot of flack for that one. So I'm, um yeah, went to Parkinson and they went to Parkinson instead.
00:13:06
Roger Emeka
It looked good early.
00:13:08
Fab
Yeah, it did.
00:13:08
Roger Emeka
looked really good early. Yeah.
00:13:11
Nacc
So.
00:13:11
Fab
Yeah.
00:13:13
Nacc
She is what she is.
00:13:13
Fab
It's shame, huh?
00:13:14
Nacc
What can you do? We move on.
00:13:19
Nacc
What was that?
00:13:20
Fab
Is this... You're going to pick a tight end rank in the 40s this week to help you out, or are you going
00:13:24
Nacc
Here we go. How much was ah Tez Johnson projected last week?
00:13:28
Fab
to... He finished off as, like, I think...
00:13:28
Nacc
Okay, we'll carry on. um
00:13:30
Roger Emeka
Yeah, but Tess Johnson was He was a flex.
00:13:31
Fab
Ted Johnson went off, man.
00:13:33
Roger Emeka
He's a flex.
00:13:34
Fab
And I put...
00:13:34
Nacc
Hey, Tyler Higbee could have been. ite It was...
00:13:37
Fab
Tyler Higley is, like,
00:13:38
Nacc
It could have gone either way. It went to Parkinson's. I'm sorry. I got the wrong tight end. Okay. I got the wrong tight end.
00:13:43
Roger Emeka
i At some point, I was really excited for you because they kept throwing. I think Higby's 84 and 89. And like, I didn't i remember.
00:13:50
Fab
Yeah.
00:13:50
Nacc
the The reverse.
00:13:51
Roger Emeka
i
00:13:51
Nacc
Higby is 89.
00:13:51
Roger Emeka
Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So either way. Well, exactly.
00:13:53
Fab
Yeah.
00:13:54
Roger Emeka
I was like, oh, nice snack. You're going to show us, right? It's like, ah it's just Parkinson.
00:13:59
Nacc
It's all good. I went for a dart throw at the tight end position. I really thought he was going to be. And then obviously Devontae Adams had to have three touchdowns to himself. So that didn't that didn't help the situation.
00:14:09
Roger Emeka
Oh, that killed me.
00:14:09
Fab
yeah
00:14:09
Roger Emeka
Yeah. Yeah.
00:14:12
Nacc
But without further ado, let's kick off our love hates for the upcoming week eight by Mageddon. Fab, why don't you start us off with some QBs you love and hate this week?
00:14:24
Fab
Yes, absolutely. So again, yeah, it's by Mageddon. So this list is going to be a little bit more interesting than it is in weeks past with all the QBs that are on by.
00:14:33
Roger Emeka
Oh my.
00:14:33
Fab
But my first love for this week.
00:14:35
Nacc
I tricked my homes.
00:14:36
Fab
No, Jordan Love, actually. Jordan Love at at Pittsburgh. ah So if you take out the game versus a rookie playing for the Browns, the Steelers have allowed opposing quarterbacks to score an average 25 points per game.
00:14:49
Fab
So it seems to be a better matchup than people realize. And Love has played pretty well this season so far. ah He's currently ranked outside of QB1 status. So right now he's going as about QB13. But for me, he's a must start in in all formats.
00:15:02
Fab
um Doesn't hurt also that Pittsburgh are actually very tough against the run. Meaning Love will probably have to throw it early and often. So I think you can comfortably fire him up and enjoy some top 10 returns. I like Love quite a bit this week versus Pittsburgh.
00:15:18
Nacc
I love that love.
00:15:19
Roger Emeka
Yeah, that's going to make for some nice YouTube thumbnails.
00:15:20
Fab
Yeah.
00:15:22
Roger Emeka
Loving love.
00:15:22
Fab
Yeah. Love, love that love versus Pittsburgh.
00:15:25
Roger Emeka
Love, love.
00:15:26
Fab
Yeah. If a Pittsburgh though, i mean, we're are we out on Pittsburgh? Honestly, for the remainder of the year, the defense, like say it, come on.
00:15:32
Roger Emeka
The defense. The defense? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Say it now. Come on. Don't be quiet. Love of God, man.
00:15:40
Nacc
like that's Honestly, they're there're they're scheming their scheming has been...
00:15:40
Fab
Are we happy with that? Jalen Ramsey's playing well though.
00:15:45
Nacc
It's just it's it's just the lack of ah like adapting in-game. like You tried to play man coverage against Chase and and Higgins. it It burned you in the first half, and then they kept playing man against Chase, and he they just continued to be burned in the second half.
00:15:57
Fab
Yeah, no, you can't do that.
00:16:05
Nacc
So... um
00:16:06
Fab
If the Steelers are one and out one and done again in the playoffs, like at one point, like is Mike Tomlin ever going to be on the hot seat, you think? For continuous...
00:16:16
Nacc
He'll never get fired.
00:16:16
Roger Emeka
No.
00:16:17
Nacc
And he just signed a three-year deal. So I think he has two after this year.
00:16:18
Roger Emeka
No, he's not going anywhere.
00:16:18
Fab
No, huh?
00:16:21
Nacc
There's no way they'll fire him. If he decides to leave, that's one thing. But then they will never, never, never fire which is a shame.
00:16:29
Fab
I mean, it' just continuous mediocrity, right? I think we can all agree on that. Anyways, so Jordan Love at Pittsburgh. Definitely strong start, ladies and gentlemen. Put him in your lineups. Be confident about it. And then tell me about it at the end of the week about how good he did.
00:16:42
Fab
So my next love is... Now, this is a spicy one. We got Tyra Taylor at Cincinnati. And this is what Bi-Mageddon does to us, ladies and gentlemen. So it was announced earlier today that Tyra Taylor will assume the starting role of the New York Jets and its first opponent...
00:16:53
Roger Emeka
I was.
00:16:59
Fab
It's fantasy football gold in the Cincinnati Bengals. They're giving up the seventh most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. They've allowed at least 15 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. So that's the floor.
00:17:09
Fab
15 fantasy points per game. So it's not a flashy start. I'm not going to tell you that, you know, start him over a bunch of other guys. No, it's not a flashy start, but there's a ton of value here, especially considering Tyrod is a proven vet who does one thing that Justin Fields can't do, according to Woody Johnson.
00:17:26
Fab
Get completions. He's ranked as QB 20 for week eight. I think he's worth a start in two QB leagues if you're desperate with buys and injuries. I think he's definitely worth consideration considering the tough week that's ahead right now and if you're dealing with a lot of other QB injuries that exist too.
00:17:44
Nacc
I am not touching anything Jets for the foreseeable future.
00:17:48
Fab
It's totally fine. Hey, this is a spicy take. I said it first. This is completely matchup dependent and Tyrod, think we
00:17:56
Nacc
The matchup is great. The matchup is definitely great.
00:17:58
Fab
think we can all agree that Tyrod is a much safer option than Justin Fields.
00:18:03
Nacc
I don't know about that.
00:18:06
Roger Emeka
I think Justin Fields needs to ask for his release.
00:18:09
Fab
I agree.
00:18:09
Roger Emeka
After what Woody Johnson said, like, there is nothing worse.
00:18:10
Fab
Yeah, I agree. Yeah, that's...
00:18:14
Nacc
That was pretty brutal.
00:18:15
Roger Emeka
it was very bad.
00:18:15
Fab
that was That was like Jerry Jones-esque.
00:18:17
Roger Emeka
Yeah, yeah, that was...
00:18:19
Nacc
Yeah, but like even worse, I found.
00:18:19
Roger Emeka
Can we at least complete a pass?
00:18:21
Nacc
Yeah, and i was that was pretty that was pretty bad.
00:18:21
Fab
Yeah, I know. I mean, that's... That's brutal.
00:18:23
Roger Emeka
Can we at least complete a pass?
00:18:26
Nacc
Yeah.
00:18:26
Roger Emeka
Ugh.
00:18:28
Nacc
Thank you for your loves, Fab. Who do you who do you hate this week? Oh,
00:18:32
Fab
Oh, we're going to keep it rolling with the spicy takes. We got Drake May versus Cleveland. So yes, Drake May is ranked QB seven this week.
00:18:38
Nacc
my God. Oh, and I get flackier.
00:18:41
Fab
He's been balling out all year, but I don't like this matchup. And i expect Drake may to struggle a little bit. Cleveland surrendered the fifth least fancy points of quarterbacks, fifth least passing yards, second least amount of rushing yards to quarterbacks for a total of 47 yards on the season.
00:18:59
Fab
So typically, Drake May has a very nice floor as a court as a Russian quarterback. You guys keep on laughing. It's fine. I think that's going to be a little bit of race versus Cleveland. I do think he's gonna have a decent game. It's Drake May after all. He's having a heck of a year.
00:19:11
Fab
But I think he'll finish more as a QB2 than a QB1. And apart from Lamar Jackson, that lit up Cleveland for 255 yards and four touchdowns back in a week two. No QB has come close to those numbers or even broke the 20 point threshold. And those include names like Jordan Love, Jared Goff, Aaron Rodgers, and Joe Burrow.
00:19:34
Fab
I don't think we, I don't, I don't think it can be assumed that Drake may is going to go off this week. I think he will have a tough matchup versus Cleveland. Again, I'm not saying to bench him, but as a QB seven this week, I do have a little bit of trepidations. That's he's going to finish. I think he does finish outside the top 12.
00:19:54
Nacc
Okay, definitely spicy.
00:19:55
Roger Emeka
So give me someone, is there someone in Fantasy Pro's ranking that, like i I have in one league, i have ah May and Herbert. Herbert's playing Minnesota.
00:20:08
Nacc
On Thursday.
00:20:10
Roger Emeka
Yeah, on Thursday.
00:20:10
Fab
Herbert's playing Minnesota on Thursday.
00:20:11
Roger Emeka
Oh, sorry, ah Herbert, yeah, Herbert's playing Minnesota on Thursday, yes.
00:20:15
Fab
Yeah, no, you can definitely make an argument to start Herbert over Drake May. Yeah. You can definitely make that argument. Minnesota's actually pretty good.
00:20:20
Roger Emeka
Hmm, interesting. interesting
00:20:21
Fab
It's a pretty good matchup for Herbert. It's also a matchup dependent too, right?
00:20:24
Roger Emeka
Interesting.
00:20:25
Fab
Like Herbert actually has a pretty good matchup. ah Caleb Williams at Baltimore. You can make an argument. mean, Daniel Jones is playing out of his mind in Tennessee doesn't necessarily scare you.
00:20:36
Fab
Yeah.
00:20:36
Roger Emeka
Yeah, I don't...
00:20:36
Fab
ah It's...
00:20:38
Roger Emeka
Like, looking at the stats, like, you're you're not... It's not as outlandish as you're saying. Caleb Williams...
00:20:43
Fab
they they put They put top QBs on their ass. I think it needs to be said.
00:20:51
Nacc
Definitely spicy.
00:20:52
Roger Emeka
Yeah, it it is spicy.
00:20:53
Fab
Definitely spicy.
00:20:54
Roger Emeka
It is spicy.
00:20:54
Fab
Definitely spicy. Listen, Aaron Rodgers last week, he had two...
00:20:56
Roger Emeka
Did you have some va lamb vindaloo for supper?
00:20:57
Fab
Sorry.
00:20:59
Fab
No, a I actually haven't had supper yet. It's 9 o'clock at night. You know how I do on Tuesday nights, guys.
00:21:03
Roger Emeka
it's true.
00:21:03
Fab
I put the pot first and I put supper second, guys. Come on. You know how it is. You know how it is. Thank God I have a wonderful wife that loves me and and appreciates the commitment I have to fantasy football, even though I'm two and five.
00:21:15
Fab
um
00:21:18
Fab
just saying boys, just saying, this is not a matchup to take lightly. Jared Goff threw two touchdowns against him.
00:21:24
Nacc
Okay.
00:21:25
Fab
He only scored 15 fancy points.
00:21:30
Roger Emeka
Jared Goff has bricks for legs though.
00:21:30
Fab
Yeah.
00:21:33
Fab
yeah He also, he, um yeah, he rushed zero times for zero yards.
00:21:38
Roger Emeka
God, I thought you were going to say Lamar Jackson.
00:21:41
Nacc
Makes sense. Who's your second hate for this week?
00:21:47
Fab
Well, Lamar Jackson week two went to rush twice for 13 yards. I'm just saying it it needs to be said.
00:21:52
Roger Emeka
like
00:21:53
Fab
No.
00:21:55
Nacc
Here it comes.
00:21:55
Fab
Lamar Jackson. ah No, no. Yeah. Lamar Jackson, obviously. CJ Stroud versus San Francisco. ah So we got bad offensive line play. We got Nico Collinson concussion protocol with a short-ish week. So don't think he's going to clear it in time. But regardless of that, ever since CJ sort of big bro Caleb last year in week two, it's been famine more than it has been feasts for the Texans.
00:22:16
Fab
I saw that the other day on Twitter and I was like, wow, it's true. um He's just hard to trust. Niners D don't petrify you. They give up the 13 fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks and quarterbacks on average score less than 16 points, but it's a tough matchup all the same.
00:22:31
Fab
And if the Texans are playing catch-up, I think Stroud is going to end up on the wrong side of completions, i.e. interceptions. Consistence rank right now is QB17. if If he can, i think he's riding my bench. If I have better options for him in a two-quarterback league or superflex league, he's riding my bench.
00:22:50
Nacc
So who would you start ahead of him?
00:22:53
Fab
Honestly, you guys are going to nuts.
00:22:54
Nacc
That's potentially lower.
00:22:55
Fab
are going to absolutely nuts. Well, behind him right now is Tyrod Taylor. Obviously, he's one of my loves. um any san any any san francisco any San Francisco quarterback ah would start over CJ Stroud.
00:23:02
Nacc
you're starting Tyrod over Stroud.
00:23:10
Fab
I know Houston's a tough defense there, but I much prefer that.
00:23:10
Nacc
Likely going to be Mac Jones, I think, again.
00:23:13
Roger Emeka
Oh, yeah, I don't know about that, man.
00:23:13
Fab
They find ways to win. Yeah, 100%. Yeah.
00:23:15
Roger Emeka
The defense, the Houston defense played really well against, like, they they kept them in the game yesterday.
00:23:15
Fab
They did. They did.
00:23:18
Nacc
Yeah, he hugh that's that's what their're that's what their strong suit is, right?
00:23:21
Roger Emeka
Yeah, it kept them in the game yesterday.
00:23:21
Nacc
Their defense is, they gave Darnold fits yesterday.
00:23:21
Fab
yeah hundred percent
00:23:25
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:23:26
Fab
they did they did ah but Brock Purdy and or Mac Jones have been playing very well in that offense, despite having a lot of their, lot of their top end guys missing. And when you have CMC being that motor now, cause I'm sure you're aware of right now, like it does allow for a lot of mistakes to be forgotten when you're with that quarterback in your offense.
00:23:48
Fab
um I think I mentioned Tyra Taylor, Spencer Rattler versus Tampa. That could be a shootout too. That's always interesting. He's ranked as quarterback 19. It's just considerations to make right now.
00:23:56
Roger Emeka
I don't hate that one. I don't hate the Rattler one.
00:23:59
Fab
Radler's been solid, man.
00:24:00
Roger Emeka
Yeah, except for last week.
00:24:00
Fab
Radler hasn't been getting the respect he deserves, I find.
00:24:01
Roger Emeka
He turned the ball over a bit too much, but he's he still looks solid.
00:24:05
Fab
He's been very, very solid this year.
00:24:05
Roger Emeka
Yeah. Yep.
00:24:07
Fab
Very, very solid.
00:24:10
Nacc
Thank you, Fab, for your QB love and hate for week eight.
00:24:15
Fab
You're welcome, ladies and gentlemen.
00:24:15
Nacc
I will keep this. What?
00:24:17
Fab
I said you're welcome, ladies and gentlemen.
00:24:21
Nacc
I will keep this ball rolling with the love hates for the running backs this week. So first running back I have is going to be Tyler Algier. Algier? Algier?
00:24:33
Roger Emeka
Yeah, Algier.
00:24:33
Nacc
Running back 28 versus the Dolphins. So with six teams on by, you'll have to get a little bit creative with your flex spots. And yes, I know Bijan Robinson is still alive and still the alpha in that backfield. But Algiers somehow finds the end zone every other week.
00:24:49
Nacc
And that gives him real flex value. ah The Falcons face a struggling Dolphins defense that's getting gassed on the ground. And that could easily be the, um this could easily be a game where Atlanta jumps up ahead early and gives Bijan some rest, letting Algier handle more of the workload. So with the upcoming buys, I think um he's a solid flex play going into the weekend.
00:25:14
Roger Emeka
A fantastic call.
00:25:15
Fab
Yeah, I agree with this call a lot, especially considering the fact that Miami is like a Swiss cheese defense. So after Bijan rushes two times for 174 yards, you can see Tyler Algier definitely making the start.
00:25:22
Nacc
Yeah, they've been.
00:25:29
Roger Emeka
And also, like, the Falcons are sometimes just weird with the way, that like, they'll just sit Bijan for, like, long stretches of the game. Like, I and and never understand it.
00:25:34
Nacc
But that's what i'm saying.
00:25:35
Fab
Yeah, yeah.
00:25:35
Nacc
it's and It happens. It happens every second game, I feel.
00:25:38
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:25:38
Nacc
Because if you look at Algier, like he scores and he's, you know, he's got those 10, those double digit fantasy games every second game.
00:25:41
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:25:45
Nacc
And then like last week it was one point, didn't touch the ball. and The week before, 12 points. So I think this is the week where once again he finds the end zone. ah They could possibly both find the end zone in and this matchup.
00:26:00
Nacc
Second love for the week is going to be Kyle Monangay. Monangay? Monangay? Monangay?
00:26:06
Fab
Oh, that is, i am not even going I'm not even going attempt to pronounce that.
00:26:06
Roger Emeka
Definitely the first one. Yep, yep, definitely that one.
00:26:10
Nacc
Monangay. Monangay.
00:26:11
Roger Emeka
yeahp yep that was definitely that one
00:26:12
Nacc
Okay, so Kyle Monagai. Consensus RB34 at the Ravens. So the seventh-hour rookie has quietly earned a bigger role in the past three weeks, topping it off with 15 touches for 94 yards and a score in week seven.
00:26:28
Nacc
think his snap share has gone from, don't know if I was taking it, it was 28, 37, and like 54, or 45, excuse last week.
00:26:37
Roger Emeka
45, yeah, 45 against Norlin, yeah.
00:26:37
Nacc
So...
00:26:40
Nacc
um
00:26:41
Fab
Yep.
00:26:42
Nacc
and excuse me And he did find me find the end zone. And Ben Johnson seems to be implementing that familiar two-back system he used in Detroit with Swift playing the Gibbs role and Monagai playing um as Montgomery.
00:26:49
Roger Emeka
Hmm.
00:26:49
Fab
yeah
00:26:57
Nacc
So we all know how deadly that tandem was. So I expect Touches to keep trending toward that split. and fifty fifty split So another another flex option as well going into the weekend. And I'm starting these two guys over the likes of Tajie Spears, who's running back 28, Kenneth Gainwell, Nick Chubb at RB31, and even obviously Trevion Henderson at RB37. I think these are these two are great options to get into your flex if you're struggling with the buys.
00:27:27
Roger Emeka
He's firmly replaced Roshan Johnson.
00:27:29
Fab
Yes. sir
00:27:30
Nacc
Is he even still there?
00:27:32
Roger Emeka
Yeah, he's still there. But Mondem Gai was someone who was talked about a lot early in the year.
00:27:34
Nacc
buried.
00:27:37
Roger Emeka
And what's actually surprising me is how well DeAndre Swift has played.
00:27:37
Fab
Yep.
00:27:42
Nacc
same.
00:27:42
Fab
Same.
00:27:43
Roger Emeka
it's um And I think you they're using him the right way, and they're not trying to pound him into being like a lead back, which is not what he is.
00:27:44
Fab
Same.
00:27:50
Fab
But he always had that opportunity. I felt like It was so much untapped talent with him. I remember when he played for Philly that one year, right? Where he just went ham. And and that there I felt like there was so much more meat on the bone for DeAndre sim Swift.
00:28:03
Roger Emeka
Well, I think Philly, it's like, maybe not this year with the offensive line issues, but Philly, you you don't really need to have a be back with vision.
00:28:08
Fab
Yeah.
00:28:12
Roger Emeka
Like the holes are just gaping.
00:28:13
Nacc
um there. Yeah. They create.
00:28:14
Roger Emeka
They're just there. And that's been the issue with Swift is he he bounces too much.
00:28:15
Fab
True.
00:28:18
Roger Emeka
He doesn't trust the holes. He doesn't have the like great vision. And I think they've made some some nice changes at the offensive line. They brought in three, Jonah Jackson and Joe Tooney. And then i think that's really helped them, ah the running game.
00:28:30
Fab
Chicago, you mean?
00:28:31
Nacc
Yeah.
00:28:31
Roger Emeka
Chicago, yeah.
00:28:32
Fab
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:28:33
Nacc
But you can definitely see
00:28:33
Fab
Well, that was the first thing that they took care of in the offseason was that they they shored up the offensive line.
00:28:35
Roger Emeka
Yes. Yeah.
00:28:38
Fab
They knew it wasn't even they took care of that right away.
00:28:38
Roger Emeka
Yeah. Yep.
00:28:40
Nacc
Yeah, you could just see the the the Ben Johnson DNA starting to form in this in this offense week in and week out.
00:28:44
Fab
Yeah.
00:28:44
Roger Emeka
Totally.
00:28:46
Nacc
And yeah, I think they were just kind of breaking him in, right?
00:28:46
Fab
Yeah.
00:28:49
Nacc
Seventh-round rookie kind of just easing him into the fold. And now they see that he could handle a heavier workload. So I think think they're going have a closer split going forward.
00:28:55
Fab
Mm-hmm.
00:29:00
Nacc
So those are my loves for the week. My hates this week. First one is going to be Tony Pollard running back 25 at the Browns. at the browns so It's becoming a trend and not a fun one.
00:29:13
Nacc
ah Pollard's fantasy day was saved last week by six receptions, but I don't see him getting that kind of volume again. And the Colts defense allows just allows just three catches per games running backs and hasn't allowed more than 77 rushing yards to a single running back as well.
00:29:30
Nacc
and has given up only four total touchdowns to the positions through six weeks. So I definitely cannot trust Pallard even as a flex play in week eight.
00:29:43
Fab
Well, it's a good thing I'm starting him as my RB too, then.
00:29:46
Roger Emeka
Oh my god.
00:29:48
Nacc
Oh, that's pretty brutal.
00:29:48
Roger Emeka
You must have better options, dude.
00:29:50
Nacc
that's pretty brutal
00:29:50
Fab
I do not have better options because my entire team is injured, Roger.
00:29:53
Roger Emeka
ah ah
00:29:55
Nacc
Yeah, and that Titans, I know you mentioned it earlier, Raj, but that Titans team is just, my God, that offense is really putrid right now.
00:30:01
Roger Emeka
And I'll be for the first to say I thought they were going be better. if you guys were I'm sure you guys remember.
00:30:06
Nacc
I recall, yeah.
00:30:07
Roger Emeka
Especially you, Nak, who keeps keeps receipts.
00:30:07
Fab
Yeah, yeah.
00:30:08
Nacc
You were high on Cam Ward. You were high on Cam Ward.
00:30:11
Roger Emeka
I was very high on Cameron Ward. I thought he'd have a Jameis Winston-type statistical season, and that is not the case.
00:30:14
Fab
Yep.
00:30:17
Roger Emeka
um he he's He's had some some Will Levis-type of play.
00:30:23
Nacc
Yeah, he's he's not been he's not been great. And then with Will Levis but potentially coming back next year, not a good ah a good sign. um Second running back that I hate this week is going to be Kamani Vidal. Consensus RB20 versus the Vikings on Thursday night football.
00:30:42
Nacc
So if you're one of the guys that picked up Vidal a couple weeks ago and started him after his week six breakout, he was playing the Dolphins, ah you were probably disappointed.
00:30:53
Nacc
And sure, he's still operating as the lead back. But like I said, that big performance against the Miami defense that ah can't stop anyone. My nonna can run for yards on that on that Miami D.
00:31:05
Fab
wow
00:31:06
Nacc
um For those who don't know what nonna is, is grandmother. Yes, my grandmother could run through that d Sorry, Guido and Stamatti. um
00:31:16
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:31:17
Nacc
So the Chargers offensive line is still in shambles. They might get Joel Altback, but they're 156 line combinations on this season, you know, give or take. um Now they have to face a tough Vikings front. So I avoid the situation and definitely look elsewhere.
00:31:34
Nacc
I know, like I said, people have been Tough to find with bye weeks, but RB20 is way too rich for my blood in this matchup.
00:31:46
Roger Emeka
He has the likes of Ramondre Stevenson against against Cleveland. Krosky Merritt against KC. um hubbard hubbard Hubbard and Dowell have a really good matchup.
00:31:59
Roger Emeka
Buffalo's run D has been really bad.
00:32:00
Fab
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
00:32:01
Roger Emeka
Do you like any of those?
00:32:02
Nacc
I would start both of them. I would start start both Hubbard and... or Dowdle over ah Vidal.
00:32:08
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:32:09
Nacc
They just have more, like I just, look, that offensive line, like i said, it's just been so many bad combinations, and that one game really like threw everyone, you know everyone was like, everyone was like, oh my God, we got to like, and and whoever didn't pick him up, and if he was still on the wire, he went for a lot of money, and you were definitely left disappointed after last week.
00:32:20
Roger Emeka
It really did. Yeah.
00:32:28
Nacc
100%.
00:32:29
Roger Emeka
yeah
00:32:30
Fab
You start Algier over Vidal?
00:32:32
Nacc
hundred percent Algier, what did we say? RB28.
00:32:39
Nacc
Yeah, i think I think I would. Plus, this is a short week or two, right? So Thursday night football games are always wonky.
00:32:42
Fab
ye
00:32:46
Nacc
There's always something. And I just i i don't see this as a good spot for him to to succeed this week.
00:32:53
Roger Emeka
I like it.
00:32:54
Fab
like it
00:32:55
Nacc
That'll do it for my love and hate on the running backs. Raj, how about you give us some receivers you love and hate this week?
00:33:03
Roger Emeka
Yeah, again, continuing the theme with Biomageddon, it's tough sledding this week. So the first wide receiver I love. So i mean I'm going to put insert Packers wide receiver versus the Steelers in the Aaron Rodgers revenge game.
00:33:14
Nacc
Thank you.
00:33:15
Roger Emeka
And I will give an answer shortly. But first of all, the reason why the Packers wide receivers. Steelers are 30th in explosive play rate allowed. They're 31st in passing yards per game allowed and are giving him up the fourth most fantasy points to wide receivers.
00:33:30
Roger Emeka
Fab mentioned it. He has Jordan Love as a love. I fully agree with that as well and fully endorse that. This is one of the highest paid defenses in the league that have been overrated all season. Now, which wide receiver do I start between Romeo Dobbs and Matthew Golden?
00:33:44
Roger Emeka
I'm going to spin a wheel, but first, the tale of the tape. So Dobbs is wide receiver consensus 25. He has target shares of 34 and 28 the last two weeks, and he's the leading yard getter.
00:33:57
Roger Emeka
Matthew Golden has looked very explosive, has looked very good in the early part of the game. He had three targets in the first quarter versus Arizona, but he only had one in the second half. And there's been a lot of talk in Twitter, in Packers land about how they need to get the ball to Matthew Golden much more.
00:34:14
Roger Emeka
So i'm I'm literally spinning a wheel, guys. like i'mm i'm Because I don't know how to do this with Packer wide receivers. going to go with Golden. I'm going to go with Golden.
00:34:23
Nacc
I like Golden this week. I like Golden this week. Speedster, for sure, they're...
00:34:26
Fab
Yeah.
00:34:27
Nacc
I mean, the fourth fourth most is kind of skewed since they gave up 60 points last week to ah Chase and Higgins.
00:34:39
Nacc
But they tend to give up. And on prime time like this, I actually, I think I like Golden more than Dobbs.
00:34:47
Roger Emeka
it's very hard to choose between a Packer wide receiver on a weekly basis.
00:34:50
Nacc
Yeah. Yeah. I think they want to get Golden more involved, though. i did That's what I just like. the You get a higher...
00:34:58
Roger Emeka
and not showing it though.
00:34:59
Nacc
Yeah, I know.
00:34:59
Fab
Yeah, I don't.
00:35:00
Nacc
I know.
00:35:00
Fab
Is. Hmm.
00:35:01
Nacc
It's...
00:35:01
Roger Emeka
And they picked him, they picked him in the first round twentieth You know, there was all this stuff about how it's, he's the first Packers wide receiver that was taken in the first round, you know, in like over, over 20 years.
00:35:04
Fab
is
00:35:08
Nacc
Yeah. Yeah.
00:35:12
Roger Emeka
um And again, Dobbs is receiver 25 this week. over Golden, who's wide receiver, 29. if you look where Golden is around, like there's Kendrick Bourne after him, there's Juwan Channings, know, Nico Collins, again, con concussion, wide receiver, 32.
00:35:29
Roger Emeka
Surprised how low George Pickens is. But um I think if there's a week to get to for him to kind of go off, it's that week with the Steelers defense being being as poor as it's been.
00:35:42
Fab
Is Christian Watson back?
00:35:43
Roger Emeka
Christian Watson is going to be activated soon from the pup.
00:35:46
Nacc
Yeah, I was going to say.
00:35:46
Roger Emeka
There was there was chances that it was going to be in week seven. um it
00:35:50
Fab
Yeah.
00:35:51
Nacc
But he remained limited in practice.
00:35:51
Roger Emeka
TBD if it's week eight.
00:35:52
Nacc
Yeah.
00:35:53
Roger Emeka
Yeah, yeah.
00:35:53
Nacc
Yeah, they said that if if he's upgraded to full, he might make his debut on Sunday.
00:35:54
Fab
Okay.
00:35:54
Roger Emeka
and
00:35:58
Roger Emeka
And Jaden Reed is back in a few weeks from the collarbone. And Dontavion Wicks is still there.
00:36:02
Fab
Yeah.
00:36:04
Roger Emeka
It's going to be very difficult to choose a Packer wide receiver. um So as someone who has Golden, if he has a big game, I would sell him right after.
00:36:13
Nacc
Good call.
00:36:14
Roger Emeka
I'm telling that to you guys. I know you won't you won't want to call them, but whatever, for other listeners.
00:36:18
Fab
No.
00:36:18
Roger Emeka
a Second wide receiver.
00:36:19
Fab
I have Romeo and Dodds. I don't want any of them.
00:36:23
Nacc
Here we go.
00:36:24
Fab
I got my own damn problems with why ive received it. got Romeo and Dodds. Why couldn't you spin the wheel again? Call him for a love.
00:36:31
Fab
Jeez, you had to spin a wheel?
00:36:33
Roger Emeka
i did, man. It's that hard.
00:36:34
Fab
Come on, man. Just kick me kick me while I'm down over here.
00:36:40
Roger Emeka
um That was good for that. Second wide receiver I love. na Let's see if NAC gives me shit about this one. Sorry, I swore there. But anyways, Alec Pierce, wide receiver 33 versus the Titans.
00:36:52
Fab
Thank you.
00:36:52
Roger Emeka
Alec Pierce might be the best downfield wide receiver in the NFL this year. 21-yard average depth of target. He had 248 air yards on his 10 targets week seven versus the Chargers.
00:37:06
Roger Emeka
He didn't connect for 248, but they threw it they threw it so deep, it was almost for 300 yards, the length of three football fields. He went five of 98 and caught two beautiful long passes from Daniel Jones in that game.
00:37:18
Roger Emeka
He faces a Titans defense where he went to four for 67 against in week three. With six teams on bye, I think Pierce is a very solid WR3 or flex against a very bad team, even if Josh Downs is back. He is taken over from Josh Downs' position, and he's showing that he's not just a deep threat. He's also able to be an intermediate player.
00:37:41
Nacc
Well, taking over as a stretch. I mean, the week before when Dobbs was there, he only saw four targets, two catches, downs, excuse me, four targets, two catches, 48 yards.
00:37:46
Roger Emeka
Downs.
00:37:51
Nacc
So you're right about the depth of target. He is seeing, he is definitely catching more of the the long ball, but I think it brings him down a little bit if Josh Dobbs is is in there.
00:38:03
Roger Emeka
Downs.
00:38:03
Nacc
But, downs.
00:38:04
Fab
Downs.
00:38:04
Nacc
Why don do I keep saying Josh Dobbs?
00:38:08
Nacc
I meant downs.
00:38:08
Fab
Do you really want us to answer that question?
00:38:09
Nacc
I'm turning into Fab here for some reason.
00:38:13
Roger Emeka
ah I like Alec Pierce as a player and I like him this week.
00:38:14
Nacc
Definitely a good matchup. Definitely a good matchup.
00:38:17
Roger Emeka
um
00:38:17
Nacc
14. 14.
00:38:18
Roger Emeka
Wide receivers I hate. So the first wide receiver I hate, Zay Flowers at WR14 versus the Bears. To me, that's utterly laughable.
00:38:24
Nacc
fourteen fourteen
00:38:25
Roger Emeka
Yeah, that's exactly what I said.
00:38:26
Fab
That is high. That's way high. Yeah.
00:38:29
Roger Emeka
One of the most inconsistent wide receivers in the league. He hasn't topped 80 yards since week one. Lamar Jackson didn't practice Monday. I'm not sure if he's practiced Tuesday or not, but not looking good so far, even if he does play. it's it's still ah he's He's been injured for for a few weeks now.
00:38:44
Roger Emeka
And even with what is an unsettling QB room, the Bears have also given up the ninth fewest points to wide. Sorry, they've given up the ninth most fantasy points to wide receivers this year, but they've given up the second fewest receptions.
00:39:00
Roger Emeka
And what is the knock on Zay Flowers, guys? He doesn't score touchdowns.
00:39:05
Fab
yeah
00:39:06
Roger Emeka
Nine touchdowns in two and a half seasons.
00:39:09
Roger Emeka
So he's allergic to the end zone. The Bears don't allow a lot of passes. I don't like this matchup at all. Wide receiver 14 is preposterous for him.
00:39:09
Nacc
Yeah.
00:39:18
Nacc
that
00:39:18
Roger Emeka
He is going above the likes of...
00:39:18
Nacc
That's crazy.
00:39:21
Roger Emeka
and actually They've actually bumped him up to the wide receiver 12. yeah He's going over the likes of Vlad McConkie, Devontae Smith, Tee Higgins, Totoroia McMillan, Waddle, Diggs.
00:39:24
Fab
No.
00:39:29
Fab
No, it's way too high.
00:39:31
Nacc
Oh my goodness.
00:39:33
Roger Emeka
That's way too high for him just because they think that Jackson's back.
00:39:34
Nacc
That's criminal.
00:39:35
Fab
Yeah.
00:39:36
Nacc
That's criminal.
00:39:37
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:39:39
Nacc
Great call.
00:39:41
Roger Emeka
And then the second wide receiver I hate is Quinton Johnson, wide receiver 18 versus Minnesota. This should be a doozy Thursday night football game. you look at the Chargers wide receiver corps over the last two weeks.
00:39:54
Roger Emeka
So from a target share and first read share perspective, Ladd McConkie is first. Keenan Allen is second. Aranda Gatston is third. Quinton Johnson is fourth. Quinton Johnson has a 9% target share the last two weeks and a 9.7% first read share in that same time frame.
00:40:12
Roger Emeka
And guys, what do the Vikings defense do better than anyone else in the league? They blitz the QB at the second highest rate at 39%. And we know that the Chargers on their third string O-line, they've had injuries galore.
00:40:25
Roger Emeka
To me, this is a recipe for Keenan Allen and Ladn McConkie and even a Rod Day Gadsden, who all three averaged three three ah fewer yards per target than Johnson to have big games underneath.
00:40:38
Roger Emeka
I think Johnson is relegated to more of a decoy role against Minnesota.
00:40:44
Nacc
Yeah, until that line gets healthy. like he doesn't Herbert doesn't have enough time to get him down the field.
00:40:48
Fab
No.
00:40:50
Nacc
you know it's it's It's super tough. But ah Alt might be back. They're hopeful he's back on on Thursday night. So that would be a huge boost. But nope, I like this call as well.
00:41:03
Fab
Tough to trust right now. I agree. Tough to trust, especially that ranking.
00:41:07
Nacc
Yeah, yeah.
00:41:07
Roger Emeka
Too many mouths to feed.
00:41:09
Fab
Yeah, too many miles to feed. Yep.
00:41:10
Nacc
And McConkie's back.
00:41:14
Nacc
Thank you, Raj, for the wide receivers. Fab, why don't you give us a tight end that you love or hate this week?
00:41:23
Fab
I got a love actually. I got a love for for Evan Ingram versus Dallas. So four straight games four straight games of four receptions or more, six plus targets in all those games and over 40 yards receiving in his last two.
00:41:36
Fab
Those numbers don't jump off the page, but ever since his week three injury absence, his target share has gone from an average of 16% to 23% in the last four weeks, peaking at in week six.
00:41:48
Fab
He also ran around on 66% of his plays last week, which is the highest of the year. So Denver faced Dallas this week, and we all know how great their pass defense is. It's actually not great.
00:42:00
Fab
And coming in as ranked as tight end 14, I think he deserves to be in your lineups over guys like guys are ranked ahead him like Kyle Pitts, Hunter Henry, and even Zach Ertz. He's the star for me this week. I like this matchup. I like the ascension that he's had in the last few weeks and how you've really seen him become more of the offense, more part of the offense, excuse me.
00:42:19
Fab
I think it's a great matchup. I think he deserves to start.
00:42:24
Nacc
like it. Raj, what about you? you love or hate the tight end?
00:42:28
Roger Emeka
Yeah, I hate, unfortunately, my boy from the Giants, Theo Johnson. He's been doing quite well, but he's facing an Eagles D that is fourth best against tight ends. And the last time john Johnson plays played the Eagles, he caught only two passes for 27 yards in the Thursday night win against the Eagles. So I see him having a hard time again with that linebacking core led by Zach Bond.
00:42:52
Nacc
Very nice. Very nice. I will end off with a tight end love. It's going to be my boy, Pat Friermuth. Consensus tight end 30 versus the Packers on Sunday night football.
00:43:04
Roger Emeka
We could not get by without a Steeler today.
00:43:07
Nacc
Nope. Could not.
00:43:07
Fab
This has been a Steelers podcast for what it's worth.
00:43:07
Nacc
Could not. Too excited. Too excited. I'm going to be at the game. I'm just too excited. Muth. I can't wait to say that.
00:43:13
Fab
So lead lead with that. Say that.
00:43:15
Nacc
I can't wait.
00:43:15
Fab
Get the listeners engaged.
00:43:15
Nacc
I can't wait to say that.
00:43:17
Fab
They just think you're a psycho with all your Steelers stuff, calling out every single Steelers fan.
00:43:19
Nacc
I can't.
00:43:21
Fab
just lead that We knew. We knew over here. Come on, Knack. You got to do better that.
00:43:25
Nacc
Don't worry.
00:43:25
Fab
Guys, Knack is going to the football game on Sunday.
00:43:26
Nacc
Don't worry.
00:43:27
Roger Emeka
Lead with that.
00:43:28
Nacc
I'm going to the football game on Sunday. So after a quiet start to the season or a huge quiet start to the season, Friamuth finally broke out playing 65% of the snaps. And that was up from 36 and 28 in the prior two games, posting season highs across the board with six targets, five receptions, 111 yards and two touchdowns.
00:43:47
Nacc
That did come against the Bengals team giving up the most fantasy points to tight ends, but he now faces a Packers defense that gives up the second most points to tight ends just gave up 10 catches, 74 yards, and two scores to Trey McBride last week.
00:44:04
Nacc
but think the Steelers have finally ah realized that they need to get Pat Frymouth involved and what he can do. So definitely locked and loaded. I think tight end 30 is a joke. um And I'm starting him over the likes of Juwan Johnson, who's going as tight end 20, Mark Andrews, tight end 16, and even TJ Hawkinson, tight end 15.
00:44:27
Fab
I like the call. Is this also a bump for John o Smith as well? Because he got in, he got in the end zone last week too. I'm not mistaken.
00:44:35
Nacc
All the tight ends that got into the end zone last week. Frymouth got in twice. Sean Smith got in once. And Darnell Washington also got in once.
00:44:43
Fab
So basically, if you have a Steelers tight end...
00:44:46
Nacc
Yeah, i just I just like it. they they They said it last week that they were going to get him going. They did it. So I'm just going to keep trusting the process. And I think, like like I said, he's he's he's the more dynamic of all the...
00:44:57
Nacc
of all vol three of them, I feel, or just looks better even when he's running with the ball. I don't know. John Smith doesn't look like he did last year, um even when he's catching shorter passes. So I think I just, I like Pat Frymuth to keep it going.
00:45:13
Fab
I think Pat Friar moves.
00:45:14
Roger Emeka
i don't I don't trust Arthur Smith to scheme up consistently for tight ends as we saw what he did with our with our our friend Mr.
00:45:14
Nacc
He's playing a different offense, right?
00:45:14
Fab
you can He can, I think.
00:45:21
Roger Emeka
Calpits.
00:45:24
Nacc
Kyle Pitts.
00:45:25
Fab
Yeah. Roger, you can't, you can't have your disdain for Kyle Pitts, like hold you for the rest of your life.
00:45:27
Roger Emeka
And... it No, but okay.
00:45:30
Fab
The way you got to move on at some point.
00:45:31
Roger Emeka
so So there's that. There's also the fact that, look, it's the Bengals last week. You know, everyone everyone everyone eats against the Bengals. And I just... Aaron Rodgers has never been a guy who locks into one specific tight end.
00:45:43
Roger Emeka
He always locks into three tight ends in the team. Like, it was John Kuhn or Robert freaking Tunyon.
00:45:45
Fab
yeah.
00:45:48
Roger Emeka
So if he does it again this week, I'll firmly believe he's the tight end one. But i I feel like it's hard. I feel it's a bit hard to trust. They flip-flop a lot, I feel.
00:46:00
Nacc
Yeah, well, look, they all got into, they they were all, what, they were all at least top 15 for sure last week in the in the rankings, all three of them, so.
00:46:06
Roger Emeka
Yeah.
00:46:07
Fab
oh yeah
00:46:09
Nacc
um
00:46:10
Fab
Plus, I think Friermuth plays more snaps than Jono Smith and the other one.
00:46:16
Nacc
Well, he did, Darnell Washington, but he he did, he's
00:46:17
Fab
Yeah, but I feel like he's just more involved in the offense from from an 11 personnel standpoint, right?
00:46:17
Roger Emeka
Last week you did, yeah.
00:46:22
Fab
I think it he is the number one tight end. He is there all the time. So I do like, if I had to choose one tight end on the Steelers team that would break out there the break out of their projection, it would be Pat Friermuth.
00:46:35
Roger Emeka
Question, Nack.
00:46:36
Fab
No, this is not a bad call. I like this call.
00:46:37
Roger Emeka
Question, Nack. What's his projected points this week?
00:46:40
Fab
Four.
00:46:42
Nacc
ah ah Let me see.
00:46:45
Fab
Sorry, sorry. 4.2. 4.2. I'm kidding.
00:46:46
Nacc
We have to keep me.
00:46:47
Fab
I'm kidding.
00:46:47
Nacc
you have to keep my.
00:46:48
Fab
I? Yes. Yes.
00:46:48
Roger Emeka
Yeah, it's fine.
00:46:48
Nacc
Got to keep me honest over here.
00:46:49
Nacc
Everyone's going to. Everyone's ripping me for fantasy points over here for. Well, Titan 30. Can't be that high. 6 and 6. 6. Oh, 5. um five But again, these I noticed that these change after the waiver ah wire on Tuesday nights.
00:47:02
Fab
yes
00:47:05
Roger Emeka
Mm-hmm.
00:47:06
Fab
yes
00:47:06
Nacc
So maybe check back, check back on. These are like still from last week. The the the the projections.
00:47:13
Fab
Well, the projections go through updates like daily, up until even even up until it starts, or even up until the game starts.
00:47:20
Nacc
Yeah, but there's the biggest change happens, I feel, after the after the waivers.
00:47:23
Fab
Yeah.
00:47:26
Nacc
And like all of them will change in consequence.
00:47:29
Fab
No, very true. Very, very true.
00:47:31
Nacc
yeah Well, that'll do it for another episode of the Bush League Huddle. Those are our loves and hates for week eight. Like the Fab said at the beginning, please send us all your questions. Start, sit, love, hate, your your trade inquiries. We will answer all of your questions.
00:47:47
Nacc
And hopefully we could help you out this week to win your matchups. Raj, hear the music.
00:47:56
Fab
Well, they don't have to send us any sit-start questions for for Pittsburgh tight ends because you just start them all, right? Is that it? Start every single one?
00:48:04
Roger Emeka
Oh my God, what's going on?
00:48:06
Fab
What is it? What? It's...
00:48:08
Roger Emeka
I just see rotters.
00:48:09
Nacc
I can't wait till he beats all 32 teams on Sunday.
00:48:10
Fab
Nak, Nak, you're too close to screen.
00:48:12
Nacc
I can't wait till he beats all 32 teams on Sunday.
00:48:12
Fab
Walk further back.
00:48:13
Roger Emeka
Yeah, your mic was blocking everything.
00:48:13
Fab
Walk further the back.
00:48:16
Roger Emeka
I just said rotters.
00:48:18
Fab
So if he if he beats... Wait, hold on. If he beats Green Bay, he has beaten all 32 teams?
00:48:22
Nacc
All 32 teams. Yeah. And this is the first time he plays them.
00:48:24
Fab
Wow. Wow. Wow. Let's go Micah Parsons. Let's go Micah Parsons. Who said that? that Bye everyone.
00:48:36
Roger Emeka
Cheers.
00:48:36
Nacc
Goodbye.
00:48:36
Roger Emeka
Bye.
00:48:37
Fab
Peace out.
00:48:38
Roger Emeka
by
