Introduction and Host Welcome

00:00:00
Mikey
Thank you.
00:00:44
Mikey
Hello and a very warm welcome back to the English Daily Premier League podcast here at GSPN. My name is Mikey Thompson and I'm going to be taking through this weekend's games and fixtures.

Arsenal vs Man United Preview

00:00:57
Mikey
I'm joined by the one and only over in the USA in the States. It's Mikhail. How are you, sir?
00:01:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Pretty sleepy since it's so this is a day pretty early hours here in America. But other than that, pretty good. pretty good like we're We're in for some very wild ride, especially with the European places ah being up for grabs.
00:01:14
Mikey
Absolutely. And we have got a wealth of Premier League games to talk about this weekend. We're going to kick it off with Arsenal and Man United and a nice little link I've brought to the table with that.
00:01:26
Mikey
and We're going to talk about Europe after that ah in the middle section and then we're going to focus on the Forest game tomorrow um or tonight as you're listening to this episode.

Arsenal's Defeat to Bournemouth

00:01:37
Mikey
So let's jump in to the Arsenal game where Declan Rice commemorates his 100th appearance for Arsenal with a goal. However, the set-piece masters are haunted by set-pieces themselves.
00:01:54
Mikey
Arsenal played after going out of Europe and having very little to play for now in the league. It seems as though they're going to get final that second Champions League spot, should i say.
00:01:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
Thank you.
00:02:04
Mikey
um And they played Bournemouth at home. They went 1-0 up and it seemed like systems were all go. A very formal formal outcome of the game. Declan Rice took the lead early doors.
00:02:16
Mikey
But two set pieces... um Two headed goals took back Arsenal and Bournemouth managed to go home with a 2-1 victory, blundering Arsenal's chances. um Mikael, I want to come to you about the game first.
00:02:34
Mikey
As a whole, i just feel that Arsenal lacked any any intensity in what they were trying to achieve.

Man United's Struggles and Europa League Potential

00:02:41
Mikey
Perhaps the reflection is is of the league and the system of what they're playing, but It must be quite deflating for an Arsenal fan to watch their team, especially at home, ah come come to lose 2-1 when they're 1-0 up.
00:02:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
Absolutely, yeah. And to be honest, I was a little bit surprised as to how Arsenal approached this game, really. Because in our um early predictions, ah I think what we said was that Arsenal would start with a second suit.
00:03:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
That we would not see like half of the core players from the like normal starting lineup of Arsenal. I did not expect Partey to start. I did not expect Trost, Martinelli, or even Saka, God forbid.
00:03:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
to to start in this game. And and yet he did. So apparently, Mikel Arteta's message was clear. We are not assured of the Champions League spot yet. So we have to keep pushing until it's actually all said and done.
00:03:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
And you know ah rivalry in the Champions League semifinal against PSG cannot be an excuse. like We just have to go at it. ah which makes it even more surprising because when you are team like Arsenal, you've got the opportunity to play in Munich in the Champions League final.
00:03:50
Mikey
Oh,
00:03:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
And you put quite a decent display against PSG. ah like it would seem like a logical conclusion that against Bournemouth, which is not as good as PSG, I mean, okay, like credits to Bournemouth and as to n s two how Andoni Iraola like line this team up, but still like they're nowhere near the level of PSG.
00:04:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
So I would really imagine yeah Arsenal being in a far better form. And just like you said, like lack of intensity and those two goals, which they conceded, they were like super accidental goals, the which they should have like with, with enough concentration and like enough at tenacity, they would have never even gone in at all.
00:04:37
Mikey
Thank you.
00:04:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
And just like one piece of statistic here, like ball possession, 50-50. 50% Arsenal, 50% Bournemouth. I think that tells you, like maybe if not everything, that most of what transpired during that game and why Arsenal had, like they just squandered their chances away. they had so that They had such an opportunity and they just squandered it. I just do not understand that.
00:05:04
Mikey
Yeah, i think I think an interesting thing that I've pulled out is that it was the four-step-piece goal that Arsenal have conceded at home and in the last three Premier League games.
00:05:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hmm.
00:05:14
Mikey
and And it also helped Bournemouth break a record in their first-ever win at Arsenal. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know how hero the Champions League will play out. I think that that obviously weighs on a team um and it has caused a little bit of an issue here.

Arsenal vs Man United: Success Comparison

00:05:32
Mikey
But a team that definitely isn't struggling ah in Europe, however, can't seem to get it right in the Premier League, is Manchester United. And and we've covered um the result or we touched on the result about against Athletic Babau on Thursday.
00:05:49
Mikey
They play Brentford, away at Brentford. And don't get me wrong, and I'm not going to go into it too much, but the team's plagued with injuries. There's players playing that haven't played all season. But the 4-1 down...
00:06:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:06:03
Mikey
And they're waiting until 10 minutes and to be fair, Garnaccio scores a fantastic goal. Ahmad scored a great 95th minute goal. But United, at the end of the day, it's another L next to their name.
00:06:16
Mikey
um And they've had a torrid time in the Premier League. did you did you what what would What did you take away from the game?
00:06:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah What I took away from the game is that because of the injuries, I do not think that we should knock on Man United too hard from this game. Yes, going 4-1 down or one four down, if you will.
00:06:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah it's pretty like It's pretty embarrassing. But then, on the other hand, like what did you expect with having Matthias DeLicht and Fredriksen as your center backs?
00:06:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
I did not expect anything else other than what actually or we actually saw. Fredriksen, he's a youngster. He's still got a lot weight to a lot like a long way to go to actually achieve his full potential.
00:07:02
Mikey
Yeah.
00:07:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah He did not have a he did not have a good game. Shada, like with a rate of 8.0 with two goals scored, like he had a very easy time there on the left side, especially with Fredrickson just not being, you know, ah like he he wasn't be like he wasn't being good enough. He wasn't good enough. That's all.
00:07:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah But then

Race for European Competition Spots

00:07:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
again, i would not take and away anything from this game apart from the fact that injured guys, they have to come back to the squad, including my, oh my God, lo and behold,
00:07:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
Diogo Dalot, who got injured, he was not playing and that in that game. And I was actually missing him for this game. i am i am not I do not like Diogo Dalot particularly. I think that he's not bringing anything good to the team.
00:07:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
and But with that being said, i would easily replace him I would easily put him in the squad for Kobe Mainu. I'm sorry, but like I'm just so disappointed Kobe Mainu too.
00:07:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, he was such a promising aspect, right? Like like prospect, right? like like I think every single Man United fan will say this i say the same thing. That, you know, boy, here you go, you know, England national team.
00:08:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Like he's scoring those goals, like maybe not like crazy, but like he's see he's scoring those goals when he's supposed to. He is ah taking reins of this midfielder as no youngster before him. And yet...
00:08:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay, I don't know, maybe I'm too harsh on him. I don't know, what do you think?
00:08:26
Mikey
I don't know. I do agree with you. I think that and don't think Colby Mayne is capable of holding a midfield by himself. I think he needs a really strong player so he can be you can have a little bit of freedom. I also think Colby Mayne is better further up the pitch, whereas today they had to deal with it in the middle of the pitch or or defensively.
00:08:45
Mikey
um Or yesterday, I'm sorry, were recording this the day before.
00:08:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:08:48
Mikey
ah So I do think that Kobe Maynard struggles when it comes to the nitty-gritty, but I think his quality on the ball and his speed is is is something that could become... very good thing. But we' we're also seeing some great players in the United team, bar Bruno Fernandes, really struggle.
00:09:06
Mikey
um So and I don't know whether that's something to so weigh on. But it that I mean, I read this week that they're potentially going to look at selling Kobe Manu because if they don't win...
00:09:19
Mikey
the Europa League. the There's a like a hundred million loss in in sponsorship. that's just It's just catastrophic if they don't win this competition, which is is ludicrous.
00:09:31
Mikey
However, um they are in a position where they could potentially win after going up dramatically.
00:09:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:09:39
Mikey
3-0, taking that to Old Trafford. You'd say any other year, I promise you, would say... It's done. Get your tickets to Bilbo. I mean, we've been talking about getting there. It's ridiculous. However, and yeah yeah i just don't put it past United to lose four on the night. I just don't. I don't.
00:09:56
Mikey
um However, and and that proposes my question to you.
00:10:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:10:00
Mikey
If United were to go on and win the Europa League, and as we can imagine, Arsenal would have a really difficult time beating or overcoming PSG, if they were to go out who would you say oh would you say that Man United have had a more successful season than Arsenal yet again?
00:10:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes, absolutely so. And I love this point. Of course, like it's a little cheeky because like when you look at the reality and it's incredible of this, we realize that Arsenal have fared far better in last Premier League campaigns than Man United.
00:10:37
Mikey
Thank you.
00:10:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Like, I'm sorry, but that's just the reality. But yeah, looking at it from this perspective, that would be a trophy. trophy in the cabinet the trophy which man united failed to win in my uh like polish city my my polish it is not my city but like a polish city of gdańsk uh i i like this final still hurts me by the way that one from 2021 where they lost the vrl penalties with their hair missing this penalty they will have a chance to claim it this time and uh well yes i mean arsenal well i i think the pressure is on them
00:11:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
Because if they are, again, second and and in the league table, they fail to dethrone ah Man City. Okay, well, they finish, like, for now for now, they finish higher than Manchester City. I think this is another interesting point that we can bring up.
00:11:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
But failing to win Premier League trophy, ah any trophy this season, and seeing Man United, who currently sit 15th in the Premier League table in the Europa League,
00:11:27
Mikey
Yep.
00:11:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
That would add more salt to injury. and And on top of that, Arsenal are not assured of the Champions League spot because Man City are going to probably catch them up. But we're going to talk about this later.
00:11:49
Mikey
Yeah, absolutely. like I'll take your point. I think you're absolutely right. I think think what Arsenal need to do is is reinvigorate themselves. And that's probably why they should listen to our next advert, which is Bionique.
00:12:40
Mikey
Absolutely. Do that. Check it out. um We are going to talk about the race for Europe and and it's quite a difficult conversation to have this because there's so many games or teams, should I say, that are involved. So what i'm going to do is go through games of the teams that were involved and then we'll talk about the positions in the table and then we'll come to you for comments about that.
00:13:00
Mikey
So it kicked off on Friday night with third place currently.
00:13:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:13:04
Mikey
being Man City on in the table, beating Wolves at home 1-0. Kevin De Bruyne showing that he's still got it. um Newcastle obviously it played Brighton away and that was on Sunday.
00:13:15
Mikey
um They managed to get a one-all draw, although they did have a couple of um opportunities for penalties, even though they got a penalty to score their equaliser. ah Brighton were pretty much in control of that game or weren't weren't really, really concerned. I was quite glad to see that VAR stepped in to overrule penalty decisions, ah whereas before VAR, there would have been two penalties. So, Newcastle would have definitely had...
00:13:42
Mikey
approximately three penalties. Gordon, just outside the box, it would have been given as a penalty because it looked like it was in the box. And then there was a dive. can't remember who it was, but it didn't look like a dive at the time. And again, proved right. So I am glad that VAR is being used
00:13:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:13:58
Mikey
ah appropriately and and being effective, I guess. ah Newcastle sit in fourth place just behind Man City. ah the Chelsea, which was the last game on a Sunday evening, played Liverpool and 3-1.
00:14:12
Mikey
um quite ah Quite a comfortable victory. and Nothing against Liverpool being taking the foot off the gas, but it's done a lot of favours for Chelsea. putting them on joint point and goal difference ah with Newcastle at the minute. So they're technically joint fourth, but in fifth place, based on their win rate, I think it is.
00:14:33
Mikey
um Then we've got Forrest in sixth place, who play tonight against Crystal Palace away. And let's be honest, Forrest's form which we will touch

Kevin De Bruyne's Impact on Man City

00:14:44
Mikey
on after this segment, could be an issue for that game. But we'll talk more about that soon.
00:14:48
Mikey
Then we've got in seventh place Villa, who are on 60 points, the same as Forest currently.
00:14:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes.
00:14:54
Mikey
um And Villa did a win that I think was very necessary. If they'd not won this game, I'd have said that they've got ah ah very tough task to make sure that they get into Europe.
00:15:06
Mikey
And then, I don't know, Michele, help me with this. How far down are we going?
00:15:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:15:10
Mikey
Because for some reason, I'm reading that Bournemouth and Brentford are both... So when when ah when the result happened today against United ah with Brentford, they said that they're now within a chance of going to Europe. So are we going down to eight places this year?
00:15:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Wow, I mean, ah looking at how the levels are, like you know they're they so brought to the like basically like to the like to the same height, I would say surely. i mean Actually, when I was thinking about how to like what what what but to comment on in terms of Race for Europe, I wanted to say that because of the fact that Fulham lost their game to Aston Villa, that they are probably out of the Race for Europe.
00:15:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then I just caught myself and was like, hold on a minute, Fulham. They're with 51 points. They lost the game. And I'm only saying that they're probably out of the race for Europe. What is that?
00:16:05
Mikey
Yeah, don't...
00:16:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm.
00:16:07
Mikey
Do you know how many spaces there are?
00:16:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Okay, how many spaces? I mean, there are okay five spaces if for Champions League. Sixth place goes for Europa League. Seventh for Conference League. And that's assuming that... but Okay, but that's, of course, minus the places for Coral Bell Cup and an f FA Cup.
00:16:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
So if a Man City were to win to f FA Cup, then ah the Europa League spot would go to Bournemouth, which is eight.
00:16:35
Mikey
Right.
00:16:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
and and and And as seeing as Newcastle, they are currently fourth. ah They will get... oh no. Actually, I'm going to have to confirm this live on air.
00:16:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Yeah, because only the winners of the Carabao Cup qualify the Conference League. So that means that...
00:16:54
Mikey
I'm with you.
00:16:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay.
00:16:55
Mikey
Okay.
00:16:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah. like So there you go. So in that case, it would be eight teams.
00:17:00
Mikey
Eight teams. Wow. So you're right. 100% Fulham are still within this.
00:17:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I said probably out. Oh my God.
00:17:07
Mikey
you Well, yeah, but you would assume so in 11th place, but not this year. It's crazy, really. i mean... and yeah I think Villa had a tough game and they beat Fulham 1-0 quite comprehensively, actually.
00:17:24
Mikey
and
00:17:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:17:25
Mikey
Newcastle are the only team that you would say that have have

Forest's Battle for European Qualification

00:17:28
Mikey
slipped up, really. they They could have put a lot of pressure on on the team below them, and not getting a win at Bournemouth, at Brighton, sorry. which Which team do you want to talk about? Is there any games that stood out to you out of those?
00:17:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
So out of all those games, I would love to talk about Man City here. And maybe not because of the fact that the game was like ah like absolutely mesmerizing, astonishing or whatever.
00:17:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's because of the fact that Kevin De Bruyne saved the butts of Man City by his unbelievable ah but but like but by his unbelievable display. And oh my God, are they going to miss him at the Etihad?
00:18:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, we're happy because one less threat to Old Trafford. Oh God, that's embarrassing.
00:18:12
Mikey
Yeah.
00:18:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, but but returning to Man City. ah I will repeat this point. I'll reiterate it. The fact that this ah race for Europe is so insane this season.
00:18:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
is the fact that Man City, with such a horrible season that they've had, with the fact that they're losing so many points, they have so many points of of of loss towards Liverpool, that they are behind Arsenal, they're still in contention for Champions League football.
00:18:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Two months ago, I would tell you that Man City had absolutely zero chance to qualify for Champions League. And here you are. Here you go. They're third. And not not only are they third, but they are actually on a very good course of overtaking Arsenal.
00:18:56
Mikey
Yeah, it's true.
00:18:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
just yeah Just two months ago, you would never even say that as ah as a real prediction that what? Man City overtaking Arsenal with such ah dull form? No way. And yet, there you go.
00:19:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
Pep Guardiola the master, I guess. That is the team that I would like to highlight. Because as far as the other teams go, ah Newcastle, ah I read a nice piece about how Newcastle would approach the game against Brighton because there were two approaches. Approach number one from the previous fixture.
00:19:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
in in in the Premier League, where Brighton were basically you know back to the wall defending and allowing Newcastle a lot of space and and yet still ah winning, and like like still losing to to Brighton from Newcastle's perspective.
00:19:29
Mikey
Yeah. Mm-hmm.
00:19:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
And the second approach would be two ah like for Brighton to attack back and actually give the but put like like take the fight to Newcastle.
00:19:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
And that second approach was visible in that latest game. And the only difference is that Brighton failed to score a hat-trick against Newcastle in this season. ah So, yeah, it's going to be interesting. And I guess the biggest letdown, if we want to talk about the biggest letdowns, Nottingham Forest heads down. We're going to talk about them in more detail in the preview, but my God, I really expected more from Nunez Spiritus Santa at the end of the season.
00:20:19
Mikey
Yeah, absolutely. I mean, just as a ah quick one before we move on from this segment, who, of I'd say that there's three teams four teams that are in the fight for the Champions League spots, which would be, you know, City, Newcastle, Chelsea, Forest and Villa.
00:20:37
Mikey
Out of those teams, who would you would you think what you think deserves it? Let's go with that.
00:20:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
Who deserves it? I think looking overall at the season and the fact that Mikel Arteta's side, they did a far better job than they did last season.
00:20:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
And they also finished second in that season, losing only to Man City. i think arsenal you know when it's all said and done they they deserve to they deserve this champions league place if they're if they do not get the uh the champions league plays by winning the the champions league well i might go on a limb but well that that's the reality so yeah arsenal deserves to go into the champions league i think newcastle also deserves to go to the champions league
00:21:04
Mikey
Thank you.
00:21:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah With Man City, i guess they deserve it based on their like their ah streak of four victories in a row. I guess they deserve it, although ah like it's going through my throat like and like tough.
00:21:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's pretty tough to swallow. It's a very tough pill to swallow. ah I think that Nottingham Forest, they should like that they deserved until a couple match weeks ago to be in the Champions League, and yet they just completely plummeted.
00:21:51
Mikey
yeah yeah
00:21:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Aston Villa... I think they still have a fighting chance, but their goal difference is inferior to not only Nottingham Forest, but Chelsea and Newcastle. So that's going to be tough for them.
00:22:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
this like even they even Even though they won against Fulham, it's still going to be tough. So ah deserving top five, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea, and... Okay, I guess Man City, I'm sorry.
00:22:22
Mikey
Yeah, I mean, it's really, really interesting though, because it's going to really ramp up now as well, because of the teams who've got to play each other as well, which is, you know, there's there's a lot of key matches coming up, which is quite interesting.
00:22:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
I was to say Man City.
00:22:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:22:35
Mikey
Villa um and yeah i'm going to say well villa and Fulham this weekend was was quite a pivotal one, I think, and You've got Forest who play Chelsea towards the end of the season.
00:22:48
Mikey
and All of these games are really going to have quite ah quite a dramatic impact, I think, on on the games that are coming up. um
00:22:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:22:58
Mikey
I really hope Forest get Champions League football because that will secure my belief that football is is still the beautiful game and allows teams to to to do this because...
00:23:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:23:09
Mikey
Let's be honest, they've defied odds and doing what they have this year. But it rests comfortably in my mind knowing that if they don't quite make Champions League football, there's a good chance they'll get Europa League football, which it in itself is still a huge, huge achievement.
00:23:24
Mikey
um And talking about huge achievements, how about putting on... a daily podcast every day. And that's what we do here at the GSPN network. And that is why we choose Zencastr as our broadcasting platform to manage all of those podcasts.
00:24:11

00:24:35
Mikey
and Now, moving on, we are going to be talking about that game that is going on tonight, Crystal Palace against Nottingham Forest. um It's a really, really important game for Forest to maintain their chance of being in that but European Champions League spot.
00:24:55

A win would keep them in exactly the same position that they're in at the minute, I think. ah based on goal difference, um as they've gone to 63 points joint with Newcastle and Chelsea, and just one point behind City. So they put themselves in a good position and give themselves a bit of breathing room from Aston Villa.
00:25:16
Mikey
Stats leading into this game definitely favour, well, i would I was going to say Palace, but it's tricky one, really. Palace coming off the back of a 3-0 win ah in the FA Cup to Villa. and What an incredible achievement for all of those guys. They drew 2-0 to Arsenal before that, drew to Bournemouth, then lot massive losses to City and Newcastle.
00:25:39
Mikey
However, Nottingham Forest have had defeat, defeat without goals. and They beat Spurs, which, I mean, who doesn't beat Spurs, let's be honest?
00:25:50
Mikey
And then they got defeat against ah Villa and Everton.
00:25:50

Bye.
00:25:53
Mikey
So big matches where you want to be winning and where they were winning earlier in the season, they're now dropping points. how you how How are you feeling with this game? What did Forest need to do to get over the line against team like Palace?
00:26:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
What they need to do is they need to find whatever it was that ah manage that like enabled them to go very high in the Premier League table. i While you were ah introducing this discussion about this the about the preview, I looked at the result from the match in October in the Premier League, where Norr Forest beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at home after...
00:26:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah chris wood scoring wow chris wood scoring a lot of forest fans would basically ah that would be their hill to die on just to see chris would score again uh like as of late uh that was a great game and from what i can see it was a great performance of the goalkeeper matzels uh anderson who was playing in the mid and in the midfield he was also having a great game uh
00:27:00
Mikey
Thank you.

all like Overall, like Yates, who was the captain at the time, Milenkovic, Murillo, Moreno, Aina, the entire defensive line having a pretty pretty decent marks for this team.
00:27:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
basically marks for this for this game in October. So, you know, fast forward to today, I just really think that Milenkovic, Murillo, Aina, Williams, who probably will start, who will probably start with Forrest today, ah they have to find that X factor.
00:27:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
that they had in October. Chris Wood has to start scoring. And overall, they have to go back to their own... They have to go back to the football that they know how to play. Because i have a feeling that Nuno Espirito Santo, I think he's tried to implement some sort of alternative system.
00:27:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
You know, switching from four in the back to three in the back to four to three, sometimes to five.
00:27:53
Mikey
Hmm.
00:27:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I have a feeling that that worked as a detriment to Nottingham Forest as of late. ah So I really think that it's time to go back to basics. If you want to have a chance of playing and hearing the Champions League anthem next season in the league phase as a Nottingham Forest team, you have to go back to basics. You have to go back to the way how you used to play football last fall or last autumn fall.
00:28:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, exactly. that That's what they have to do. Otherwise, they're in for a rough ride because Crystal Palace, they are on the rise. They will be super motivated to put up a great show ah for their supporters at home ah because like they have they're going to have a great occasion, FA Cup Final.
00:28:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
not not so long Not so long from today. So, yeah, they will be motivated and they will

be dangerous. And I cannot wait to see Eze and Sa and Mateta like wreaking havoc.
00:28:53

among Milenkovic and Murillo's of the world. But then again, maybe maybe it's not going to be that bad.
00:28:58
Mikey
Yeah, I think you've you've made you've made a lot of very valid points. What I will say for Nottingham Forest is when I saw them against Brentford on Thursday, is i was i was in a bar and working and we um they they they had a screen on and they were on and I couldn't hear the game.
00:29:16
Mikey
And obviously the game didn't go well for them. But what I do have to say is that an evening game at Nottingham Forest looks worthy of European football. It looked like it looked the part.
00:29:28
Mikey
and So I really hope for their sake that they managed to get there. But to talk about Crystal Palace, it's a huge achievement. And both teams are coming into this with very different ambitions, I guess. um They've had a four-day break, whereas, you know, Forrest have played you know, 34 days ago. um So there's a big difference in teams, but Oliver Glasner's come out saying that he's banned any more talk about the FA Cup final to keep everyone focused on delivering ah in the next two Premier League games.
00:30:01
Mikey
He don't want to hear anything from it until this game's finished. and And yeah, moving forward to then the Tottenham game, And then after that, they can start looking forward to and ah an FA Cup final, which for them is a huge, huge achievement.
00:30:17
Mikey
I think it's going to be really tough. and And I'm i'm probably gutted to say this because my my head is saying um that Palace might probably win this game, and which will dampen the hopes for many Forest fans out there.
00:30:30
Mikey
But it will be remain to see.
00:30:30
