This week is a girl power episode as we welcome Nessa, aka @infuriatedplum! She's been going hard on reels lately, and we had a fun chat about her inspiration and process. We're a little unfocused in our interview because we were all a little hyped up, but that's just part of the fun of the episode!

Introduction and Episode Theme

00:00:00
Speaker
You are listening to the Inverted Creative Podcast. I'm Allison. I'm Brian. And I'm Jen.
00:00:17
Speaker
And we have a girl power of an episode today. Yes, girls only. No boys allowed. Mike, don't come into the room. No milkshake for me today. but yeah Yeah, we're not going to have a milkshake or anything else dropped off during the episode because it's a girls only event.
00:00:37
Speaker
Yeah, because we have a special guest with us today. Vanessa! Hello.

Vanessa's Content Creation Journey

00:00:45
Speaker
AKA a Infuriated Plum on Instagram.
00:00:50
Speaker
Which I'm very curious how you got that name. It is, it was just random, to be honest. I really just, yeah, it was just a random name I came up with.
00:01:03
Speaker
Do you actually like plums or are you infuriated? i haven't had a plum in a long time, to be honest. You to do it for the gram.
00:01:14
Speaker
I do, and I have to be mad when I eat it, too. Just put, like, angry eyes on a plum. Yes, exactly. I have an idea for a new logo for you. oh yeah You gotta just make your content eating plums in front of coasters. You know, angrily that's you're on to something. i like that You gotta like start the video. Every reel starts with you ranting in front of the coaster and then just slamming a plum.
00:01:45
Speaker
Slamming a plum. We're doing great, guys. um Before we get into our interview, Jen was actually productive and got some Patreon videos done.
00:02:00
Speaker
And guess what? Patreon will be live by the time this drops. Yay! But guys, I have to be real. it The delay wasn't on me. It was all your guys' fault.
00:02:11
Speaker
Like, it was your guys' no, that's not what I meant. It was because of you guys that the Patreon got patreon got up this quickly because you all bullied Allison, like I told you to at the end of the ah last episode because she took so long to edit the videos. You know how many people actually bullied me?
00:02:29
Speaker
One. It was me. Well, and i got to I got you a draft of that video within 24 hours. Thank you. Because I am always working. ah Well, Nate, um you get a high five from me the next time we see each other. Or I guess I'm going to see Europa Park. You get a beer from me.
00:02:50
Speaker
You're seeing him before then. Oh, at your wedding. Yeah. five High five. Sorry. Taking back the beer. You get plenty of free beer at the wedding. Free. Quote unquote. Free that Allison pays for.
00:03:05
Speaker
It's okay. Everything's fine. Well, Nate, good job but bullying Allison. It was purely your your fault. No, that's not what I mean. It's purely you that got our Patreon and freon off the ground.
00:03:17
Speaker
Nate is so good at this game. yeah Anyway, Patreon. um Yeah. i'm I'm excited about some of the stuff that we're planning for it.
00:03:28
Speaker
um if If you choose to support us on Patreon, it will be very... I'm bad at words right now. We really we would really appreciate support, um but it's not necessary to keep getting the same podcast content.
00:03:47
Speaker
Yeah. I don't, I don't, I'm really bad at saying this right now. I need to delete some of it. We'll see. But we love the stumbling through. It's okay. Keep going. I'm drinking coffee and that's it.
00:04:00
Speaker
Um,
00:04:03
Speaker
Yeah. Okay, guys. Well, by the time you're listening this, we now have a Patreon. You can go up and listen to it. Hopefully, Allison can talk better than she can right now. Yeah, we have some fun things planned for the Patreon, including some like podcast minisodes, some fun...
00:04:23
Speaker
fun content creation um Allison has some videos planned i have some ideas I'm really bad editor so just know anything coming from me is probably going to be very poorly edited um but I'm here for I'm here for funsies I'm here for the the charm I really want our friend our good friend Nathaniel we're gonna have some good Nathaniel rants on the unhinged tier oh so yeah we're I think we're gonna do some
00:04:55
Speaker
Really fun stuff. Yeah. and I also think we we discussed some...
00:05:03
Speaker
Influenced park history? Is that a good way to say it? Yeah. Spicy park history. Spicy park history. Spicy coaster trivia history. That makes it sound not the right spicy.
00:05:18
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. I don't know how to say it. I think you guys get what I'm putting down. Yes. But... um yeah whether or not patreon is your vibe we truly support any support truly support you
00:05:34
Speaker
Jen you might have to take over today we truly appreciate any any support that you guys have for ah inverted creative podcasts because it it it really does mean a lot to us yeah all but all the comments and feedback that we get it it keeps us going and it's the reason that we're weekly now Yes, exactly.
00:05:52
Speaker
And also because Allison is a workaholic. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I just like to talk. Yeah. Anyway, all this to say, the ah the Patreon intro video says this a lot better than I have been right now.
00:06:08
Speaker
um And we love you guys. Yeah, we love you all. Thank you guys for supporting us. Even when I can't talk. That's fine. That's part of the charm.
00:06:21
Speaker
All right. Yes, that was my one plug that I was very poor at doing. No, that's it's part of the charm. Part of the charm. It's fine. It's like our script our scripted content is no better. No, the scripted content is is pretty pretty uncomfortable. I hope you all enjoy it. um Please support us because I promise none of it will be like that and I never want to do that again.
00:06:47
Speaker
I 100% filmed my videos using Snapchat filters. but It made me feel a little bit better. i was like, if you if we're like candid like this and i I know there's things that I have to talk about, I'm fine. But the fact that I was like not going one-on-one with someone, and like it was so uncomfortable. I hope you guys enjoy it.
00:07:11
Speaker
And I hope you could see it in my face how uncomfortable I was the entire time. We got it done. I'm so proud you. Yeah, it was great. Because I think I was literally like, if you don't film these videos, I'm going to start this myself.
00:07:26
Speaker
It's fine. We got there. We got there. It's fine. It's all good. ah
00:07:35
Speaker
All right. I think that's the end of our plug. I think that brings us to the end of our episode. That brings us to the beginning of our episode. Well, we are excited to have Nessa here with us. um see you are what instagram I put you as Instagram and YouTube content creator.
00:07:53
Speaker
I don't know which one you ah gravitate to more, but. Definitely Instagram. Mostly for YouTube. It's just POVs that I take with you know friends or with my husband. and yeah just yeah Just riding roller coasters.
00:08:11
Speaker
I'll plug your YouTube too on on the episode description. Sweet. i'm I'm just getting into YouTube and it's a struggle. Yeah, it's it's kind of tough. And it's tough to multitask too over a couple of social media. For me, I have kind of a hard time with it.
00:08:28
Speaker
i like I do a lot of like vlog videos and then i have these like grandiose ideas for Reels that just never happen. You should do it. Send it. I need to. I keep i literally like i see a bunch of like fun transition stuff on Reels and I send it to Nate and I'm like, we need to do this in Poland. And then I'm sure we're to get to Poland and just... We're not going to do any of it.
00:08:52
Speaker
we did our hand be hard We did our handshake video. That was... That took a lot of planning. A lot of like telling our friends, here, can you film us real quick? I promise it's for a good reason. It was mostly John Mike. Thank you, John Mike.
00:09:07
Speaker
That was a cute video though. Yeah, it was. ah We're going to do that at the wedding at some point and going cry. so it's like i literally think about it and I'm like already crying over it.
00:09:20
Speaker
It's so cheesy. Yeah, but like obviously you love it so much. Yeah. Except i I forget it a lot of the time.
00:09:33
Speaker
That's okay. You're doing great.
00:09:36
Speaker
And I'm getting a phone call. Sorry, Alex. Yeah.
00:09:45
Speaker
So, um yeah, we do we're just like blanking right now. um So I know you said you prefer Instagram. How did you get into content creation? Like what made you want to start creating content?
00:09:58
Speaker
I had been wanting to do it for a little while. I just didn't. Just didn't do it, I guess. But eventually this year I just said, you know what? And I just sent it and it was just so much fun to make it and just to make different videos. Like for instance, that penguin track video that I made, i had a lot of fun just dressing up in a penguin suit and just doing all these different dances and just being goofy and just sending it and just not thinking about what other people think, I guess, just, just putting it out there.
00:10:29
Speaker
it was just a lot of fun. Yeah. I've definitely noticed that like you spent a lot more time on reels lately. Yeah. Every single day I had one popping up. I'm like, man, she is going hard on these. And I love it. Yeah.
00:10:44
Speaker
Yeah, definitely. Yeah. yeah Very, very fun. Just going through it. um So what is your process like? So like coming up with an idea, do you do any scripting?
00:10:57
Speaker
Things like that. I don't really script too much. It's more that I'll just have an idea in my head, like for Mind Blower. I went there in January with the High Rollers and we went on Mind Blower and the sound of that ride, it just sounds like a banshee. It's just such this horrific scream and it just inspired me to to make myself look like one.
00:11:22
Speaker
So stuff like that is just, yeah. Now, I don't do a lot of reels. Like, do you do a lot of, like, the green screen effect stuff mostly, i think?
00:11:33
Speaker
Yeah, after my journey as a roller coaster enthusiast video, I was just inspired to buy one off Amazon. So I now just have one in my dining room at all times. it's great in there Yeah, yeah it's just it's just chilling on the wall.
00:11:47
Speaker
That's kind of cool, though. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. So when I just get really excited and just want to make a video, it's already ready to go. like I've thought about putting a curtain up behind me and like or like tie-dying something and making like a fun little inverted one but maybe I just need to do a green screen.
00:12:05
Speaker
Hey, it it works for sure. Works good. I literally just record in my bedroom. I mean, I'm in my bed, right? now Like my my full like full desk is just i my feet touch my bed. Yeah.
00:12:22
Speaker
I do have an office and I have a desk, except it's like my house is like open air and there's other people people at home at night. it' So like during the day, it's fantastic. But at night, I'm my room.
00:12:35
Speaker
so um i have a bigger desk downstairs in the basement, but that's where Mike lives most of the time. And he's loud. Yeah. And I can't podcast when he's down there. I do also have โ€“ I do have a single โ€“ I can set up behind me a single photo of a corgi as like a queen. Yeah.
00:12:53
Speaker
you So i res it was supposed to be put up on my wall. It has not made it to my wall. um My background is just going to be a corgi behind me.
00:13:05
Speaker
yes And I can hear her too, I think. No, that's another dog. there's no It's another dog. No, she's under my bed. She's very quiet tonight. She's going to come out nassa she has She has this thing where she comes out when I say something really she doesn't agree with. She has lot of opinions.
00:13:24
Speaker
Comes out at perfect timings and she doesn't agree with things. It's fantastic. so That's pretty funny. I don't know if she'll come out tonight. She's hiding under my bed at the moment. so I hope she makes an appearance.
00:13:37
Speaker
Me too. Someone say something stupid. Something stupid.
00:13:42
Speaker
Ahsoka, I think Steel Vengeance is really good. No, not stupid enough. She...
00:13:51
Speaker
Talon at Dorney Park is a terrible invert. Okay. I'm taking applications for a new podcast. so You have to know how to edit and do all of the podcast distribution because I don't do any of it.
00:14:05
Speaker
Hi, it's me.
00:14:11
Speaker
yeah It's like when people ask, like do you have a wedding planner? I'm like, hi it's me. yeah ah i will I will say originally I was supposed to be taught how to edit and help with editing and then Allison edited every video the night we were recorded and it just never got given to me like it was supposed to.
00:14:32
Speaker
i mean, if we need if we need to change things up, I can give it to you. Oh no, I hate editing. If you're willing to do it, girl. Yeah.
00:14:47
Speaker
um yeah i don't I don't even know if you have like the Zencaster login.
00:14:53
Speaker
No. You have access to the Patreon. I do have access to the Patreon. I do know that much. um I do not think I have the Zencaster login. i don't. You have Instagram.
00:15:03
Speaker
That you just never do anything with. I'm logged in and I just never. i don't do anything with my own Instagram, honestly. I do. I've been really bad lately. Well, it's because you've been focused on the ah the analog one.
00:15:18
Speaker
That's true. I have been a little more focused on that one because I'm having a lot of fun playing with all of the things I can do with analog. Like, super fun. I have another really cool project lined up. So, yeah, I have been focusing on that one a little too much.

Creative Projects and Inspirations

00:15:32
Speaker
Your photos are pretty cool, though. I have an appreciation for that. That's really cool. Yeah, thank you. I'm having a lot of fun. I have i really like how crazy an unpredictable film can be.
00:15:44
Speaker
yeah Like you can change the environment or change. something and get really cool results. So I'm starting to do a little more playing with that. with that I actually have like a really cool project that requires that requires like it does it requires like another photographer um and I'm partnering with someone in the UK to do that.
00:16:07
Speaker
Very excited. Oh, that's cool. That's really cool. Yeah, so we'll get to work on some film stuff together. I'm very excited. Sorry, this is not about generally analog. It's a cool really great play hobby. yes that You're getting us really in like great form. oh but but it's It's been a week, we'll say that.
00:16:31
Speaker
I get that. It's almost Friday. It is. Yeah. um But yes, let's get a little bit more about you. like think
00:16:43
Speaker
We're having a good conversational episode, guys. Yes. A lot more casual than usual. Yeah, a lot more casual than usual. um Nessa, do you have a favorite reel that you've put out?
00:16:55
Speaker
Favorite reel?
00:16:59
Speaker
Probably the Journey is a Rollercoaster Enthusiast one. That one's probably my favorite one. I have to go back and watch that, actually. um What makes that one your favorite? Was it like the making of it?
00:17:11
Speaker
the the making of it The making of it was fun because I had to change in different outfits. But I love that, you know, I feel like everyone who's been in the community knows somebody that's been in it for too long. And they're just, they just have no happiness with rides anymore.
00:17:29
Speaker
Like there's just any ride, they're just not happy. Steel Vengeance is terrible whatever. not not Not pointing at you, Jen. You can point at me. I stand on nice and tall.
00:17:41
Speaker
But like popular rides that everyone loves, they hate them, and it's just they're just not happy anymore and have to find another hobby kind of thing. I think we all kind of know somebody who's kind of like that.
00:17:55
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I get that. I do actually, it took me a second when you first said it, but I do remember this video now that you're talking about it. Once you started talking about it, I was like, oh, I know exactly what you're talking about. Yeah.

Travel Tales and Theme Park Adventures

00:18:09
Speaker
I do know my favorite reel that you put out recently. And know the choose your character. Oh yeah, that one. Yeah, that one was fun too, actually. That was that was really fun to make. Like, did you, for the the merch collector one, did you literally just like pull everything out that you had? Yeah, I just grabbed all of my clothes and like everything and just piled it on.
00:18:28
Speaker
And then the Blair's bruises like a badge of honor. yeah Yeah, that was really fun too. yeah And Millennium Force when I pretended to have flies all over my face. And that was that was fun, too. Oh, that one was good. Yeah.
00:18:43
Speaker
That's brutal. Sunset right on Millie. Oof. Yeah. You're getting a protein snack. No, I'm just, like, scrolling through your stuff. Thanks. for And then you did a Europe trip, your first Europe trip, fairly recently. or i Yeah. Last year or something, but...
00:19:02
Speaker
Yeah, back in October, we did it for a week and we had couple parks over there. And that was very interesting. I had never been out of the country like that. So it was it was interesting to see that side of the world.
00:19:15
Speaker
And Europa Park is amazing. My favorite park of all time now. Jen, I think you found your new co-host. yeah Yeah, you edit. Yeah. Yeah.
00:19:30
Speaker
um It is like the most incredible park ever. ah yeah it's... And just the thing with Europe too is the animatronics, like they're everywhere and I love that. It's like everywhere you look, it's just theming everywhere and it was, yeah, it was incredible. Yeah, I felt like my first trip to Germany, I was like,
00:19:52
Speaker
why would I ever go to a park in the States again? like it And it's not even like the like, all the theming is just so good. like It is, yeah. product Even like the lazier parks, I feel like the final product is still so much more charming.
00:20:09
Speaker
yeah yeah They really put their effort into theming over there and it's it shows. It's really cool. And it's just a lot more of a chill experience. like yeah That's kind of my big thing with your with like European versus American parks is like they just yell at you at American parks.
00:20:26
Speaker
It's just like constant noise. Yeah. i don't know. You get over to Europe and it's just like nothing.
00:20:38
Speaker
Just get on the ride and go. Yeah. True. Yeah, I feel like it's way more chill, but also I feel like in Europe it's kind of because they're just kind of like, if you're dumb enough to do something and get hurt, that's on you. like It's true. i have i Have fun, buddy.
00:20:55
Speaker
I was on at
00:20:59
Speaker
I guess, Hansa Park. We got on this like kid coaster and there was was this like really young kid climbing on top of this big pillar on the queue and just like sitting like perched on top of this big giant pillar, high fiving people on the coaster as it was going by. They're like, I was going yelling at this kid and telling him to get down. Like way. i That's what I was like. This is truly different. Yeah.
00:21:27
Speaker
America. Like truly.
00:21:31
Speaker
It's definitely a little different for sure.
00:21:35
Speaker
yeah I'm looking forward to getting to some of these like small Italian parks where they're probably not going to speak any English there. Yeah. And Gay Cat Park. Yes. Gay Cat Park. What is that?
00:21:47
Speaker
never heard that magic land um it's like just outside of rome but the mascot is like a cat with a giant fluffy rainbow tail that's fabulous yeah yeah incredible and that that's like the one thing it's literally on my itinerary is uh jen wants a gay cat souvenir what it's literally that's a bullet point in my itinerary I love K-Kat. Gotta get it.
00:22:13
Speaker
It's so good. I love it so much. Someone tried to tell me it's not supposed to be a cat and I literally like canceled. I'm like, I don't care. anymore It's a cat. I don't care what anyone says. The only thing better you could tell me is a raccoon and it's clearly not a raccoon. So it's cat. Should i try to find you a shirt with that on it, by the way?
00:22:32
Speaker
It's up to you. um I'm game for anything. as I just want something with a gay cat. i love him. I'll see what I have. I would say I'll see what I have room for. It's early on in our trip. So yeah, whatever you have room for.
00:22:44
Speaker
You can also just send it to Joey for cheap and I'll pick it up and I'll just carry it until I get until I meet up with like everybody else that's meeting up with us and then be like, can you bring this home for me? Because. Oh, true. Yeah. Also, is Nate.
00:23:01
Speaker
Going with you and then going to Europa? Yeah. Just pass it off to me. Yeah. yeah That's my problem to go home. Oh, that's true. Okay. Then you don't even have to worry about it. Yeah. It's my problem.
00:23:14
Speaker
I send him to you with a gay cat souvenir and then he comes home with that bottle of ah rum from Pirates in Batavia. Oh, yeah. Perfect tradeoff. Yeah. Nessa, did you know that there is a animatronic in Pirates in Batavia that has a rum barrel on it and it actually makes rum and they sell the bottles for like $200 a bottle?
00:23:37
Speaker
Wait, really? no I didn't know that. That's cool. Nate fully intends to buy a bottle. so Is he really? oh yeah. Send it. I would have him buy me a bottle too, but that's like another $200 that I can't afford right now.
00:23:52
Speaker
i wonder if he, I wonder if they have it at the resorts. I wonder if I can, if we can try it. You know, you have somebody who works at the park that you could ask a question to.
00:24:05
Speaker
Okay. Well, it's three o'clock in the morning for him. I don't think he's going to give me the answer right now. he's but up You said you were going to before to get a picture. and know I need a picture of Olympia looping.
00:24:16
Speaker
Because your X700 has been on Olympia Looping. Yeah, because my X700 has been on Olympia Looping, in case you guys didn't know that. I know I've never mentioned it before.
00:24:28
Speaker
um So, Vanessa. yeah a you So, do you prefer making videos based on, like, trending audio or just...
00:24:41
Speaker
Or, you trending audio and like themes or whatever. Like I know the choose your character was big for a little bit um or just your own unique ideas. um Some of it I'll I'll see Instagram videos and sometimes I'll get text inspiration for things. But a lot of it's kind of on my own. It's like, do you have anybody who like send you reels? Like you should make one like this.
00:25:07
Speaker
No, no, I don't really get that. No. oh Yeah. Okay, well, I'm going to start sending you this. Please do. okay. but Bully people into making reels. That's okay. It gets stuff done, just like Nate bullying you for Patreon.
00:25:26
Speaker
Sometimes you need a little bit of it, you know? Yeah.

Event Plans and Unexpected Twists

00:25:30
Speaker
Or like me bullying Alex to buy his flights to Poland because he took forever to book those. yeah There she is.
00:25:39
Speaker
Yeah, there she is. You didn't like that, Ahsoka? Didn't like that. She doesn't like Alex going to Poland. Yeah, she said no to Poland for you. She's saying say no to bullying.
00:25:49
Speaker
We do not condone actual bullying. That's not true. Ahsoka is for sure bully. There's no doubt in my mind she's a bully.
00:26:03
Speaker
me it didn'ty yellowll at a soka for context i just said excuse me and she looked at me like um yeah the girl you're just like what are you gonna do about it
00:26:21
Speaker
i don't hear her anymore oh she's growling she's growling and doing little boofs she's mad i yelled at her oh no Oh, she's back.
00:26:32
Speaker
but It's like me bringing Nemi on beforehand. And just, he hates everything.
00:26:41
Speaker
He's in just like his terrible twos right now. Yeah, it happens. Well, he's almost two.
00:26:50
Speaker
And he's very much a teenager. She's on the bed. and i thought Oh, hey so cute. Say hello. Okay.
00:27:04
Speaker
um I know we did get some ah listener questions and comments for you. Oh, boy. Brothers of the back row. I know we've mentioned that. Oh, yeah. Just said the goat in all caps.
00:27:16
Speaker
Oh, thanks. exactly Yeah, brother. Thanks, back row brother. Yeah, brothers.
00:27:27
Speaker
Yeah, that was just a response to the ah the story that we posted and just said the goat. so
00:27:34
Speaker
you are You are appreciated. Thank you. Books and Roller Coasters, Ann, who we've had on the podcast before, who is... i miss her. I want to talk to her again. um but She said, how do you come up with your comedy ideas? They're spot on.
00:27:52
Speaker
a lot of it is just... I want to say experience just from riding the rides and just being in the community for a while or just things from growing up.
00:28:02
Speaker
Like, for instance, there was one where I'm pretending to be like my brother and we're playing a video game and he just rage quits because that would happen a lot growing up. Stuff like that. It's a lot of just, I guess, experience. I don't know how else was to word it. I mean, yeah, life experience is in your reels.
00:28:20
Speaker
Yeah.
00:28:23
Speaker
I was trying to think, um... I know, like, didn't it was a Hollywood Nights one that you posted recently of, like, Legend in the Lakers or something. Yeah. Oh god, I'm so sorry.
00:28:37
Speaker
Yeah, Chris found that video because I remember that Dave Chappelle skit and that was so funny growing up and it it is spot on for just Legend and Voyage just destroying your legs.
00:28:51
Speaker
You don't walk away without bruises, that's for sure. No, especially Hollywood Nights. Yeah. Which, Jen, I heard that you haven't been there yet. No, at this point, I'm just boycotting it. I refuse you need to go You need to go. This is what we need to play about next. You gotta go and you gotta ride the voyage. It's so good.
00:29:09
Speaker
Yeah, so if you thought my Steel Vengeance take was bad, I also don't like the Voyage. And I only don't like the Voyage because every single person I talk to only talks about how it's trimless during Hollywood Nights. And I'm like, if it's only the best coaster ever because it's trimless during Hollywood hallen Nights, then i'm i'm out. I'm done. Also, I hate winning coasters. Yeah.
00:29:33
Speaker
what except like who in had load in yeah like i have very specific wooden coasters that i like it doesn't have to be trimless it's it's just a great ride she's just gonna hate on it forever one day i'll make it there but i'm not going out of my way i'm gonna kidnap you and take you there think you have to allison people talk to me all the time and be like Oh, Candemonium's the worst. And Candemonium is the best hyper. Especially... Mako's pretty close too, but only when Mako's running really slow. um
00:30:11
Speaker
Especially during the winter. That thing is the best hyper. in the winter so good but it's still a fantastic hyper all year and i'll say it all the time i'll die on that hill and everyone's like it's all my god in the winter because and the trims don't hit blah blah and they try and say it's the same thing or they try to say that to me and then they're like oh yeah but have you ever ridden voyage with no trims and like ohlogies yeah yet oh you guys got me started i i sorry we edited
00:30:41
Speaker
She missed it. She didn't write it down. did miss Sorry, I was getting a blanket on me. going to make a timestamp. I'm making such a big deal out of it because I know she's not writing down. now.
00:30:54
Speaker
I'm literally putting Jen said something. Question mark. I got a little muted. Sorry. Legitimately don't know about like what said. No, I was just getting a blanket on me. I'm cold.
00:31:09
Speaker
They, um, like, it's like the same people that are like, oh, candy's only good when the trims are off. It can't, the trims can't hit, the trims can't hit. And then they come back to me and they're like, yeah, but voyage without the trims. And I'm like, it's the same concept. Go away. Like,
00:31:25
Speaker
I have a lot of feelings. i will yeah Save it for the Patreon. Yeah, you can keep that. No, I i don't even i finished I didn't finish my thought because I caught myself.
00:31:41
Speaker
I hope you all enjoyed it. I'm going to go back and listen to it in editing and it's all going to be a surprise to me when I listen to it for a couple minutes. Whoops.
00:31:52
Speaker
Again, so on my game tonight. yeah
00:31:57
Speaker
We're usually better than this. I'm sorry. Oh, no. I don't mind this at all. To our listeners, I'm sorry. We're a little ah weird today.
00:32:09
Speaker
Yeah, I did have extra caffeine today because I was going to the gym. um I did not realize we were recording tonight. My schedule, I thought we were recording next week. um So I get a nice text from Allison like an hour before we're recording. Like, hey, are you good for 730? Which normally, like if I'm home, perfect. If I'm at CrossFit, perfect. But I had just had extra caffeine.
00:32:34
Speaker
and just started my lift i just was squatting and went to move on to my next lift so i am caffeine up and then i did you were wired yourself another cup of coffee podcast because i'm recording the podcast so like we always have coffee yeah but i have extra caffeine in my system because i was supposed to be lifting and i was not lifting tonight so i'm very i felt bad it's okay when you're like i'm gonna rush home i'm like ah oops It's okay.
00:33:03
Speaker
It's fine. It happens. go It was my fault. i so I thought it was next week. I know you mentioned that you thought it was an off week and I'm like every week's an on week for me now. yeah i thought I never know what's an off week.
00:33:15
Speaker
I thought it was an off week. Not an off week. That's fine. um You guys just got me really caffeined up which makes for fun podcast. Yeah. un pinched Sorry.
00:33:31
Speaker
What do we have next? Brayden says, um what, who is your biggest and inspiration throughout your content creation journey? My biggest inspiration, i guess it's again, just life.
00:33:47
Speaker
I don't know. Just riding roller coasters and being in the community and yeah, just stuff from growing up.
00:33:57
Speaker
Are there any other like content creators that you follow in the coaster industry? In the coaster community? Yeah. ah Yes, I i follow a lot. What's the truth of any that just stick out to you that you kind of gravitate towards?
00:34:14
Speaker
ah Definitely, o i don't know. I kind of just, everyone that I follow, I just support and just love everything that they do. It's is hard. Yeah. You're definitely a hype girl.
00:34:27
Speaker
who like I try. I try. You're always tagging everybody in those things. and I'm always bad about doing those. That's okay. That's what I'm here for. To support all y'all. Yeah. you know We love our supportive girlies.
00:34:41
Speaker
Yes. 100%. And what do you mean you didn't say that you're inspired by inverted creative podcasts? Well, definitely. Heck yeah.
00:34:55
Speaker
We make so much content. Yeah. We make lot more now. on Our Instagram, we just... Our poor Instagram. It'll get there. It's mostly just episode art.
00:35:06
Speaker
Yeah. It's fine. I think... Nothing wrong with that, though. Jen has posted two stories ever, I think, on the ah inverted page. Yeah, one for Flash Media Day. And then one of Snorri during our recording of Europa Park.
00:35:20
Speaker
Oh, yeah, that really scary photo of Snorri. Vanessa, you should see this. They approved this. They approved this Snorri stuffed animal.
00:35:31
Speaker
And I'm horrified of him. Like, he haunts me in my dreams. Hold on. I'm pulling him up.
00:35:43
Speaker
I literally was walking out of the Snorri ride and I saw him and I was... I stopped dead in my tracks and I was like, there's no way. I can't believe that this is real life. I can't believe someone approved this.
00:35:55
Speaker
And I'm scared. Where is he? Where is he?
00:36:06
Speaker
That is nightmare fuel.
00:36:09
Speaker
but It's terrifying. Like, who who approved him? Wait, look at the side profile.
00:36:23
Speaker
It's like really bad screen art. bad it kind of looks like a wish, like something from Wish. Yeah, literally, it's like but the wish.com version of Story.
00:36:36
Speaker
yeah
00:36:39
Speaker
it's so bad i still can't believe that this is actually available for purchase at europa park and then i kind of wanted to buy one because what do you mean he's that scary like he's he's scary i must buy him i must have one he's terrifying it's so funny that they approve this it's so good Okay, so random, but like... Not totally random. But somebody um in our group chat or on... o think it was on on Instagram. um There's cinnamon bread plushies at Dollywood now.
00:37:13
Speaker
I know. Really? Yeah. But you can't buy them. They were on the games. Oh, I wanted it one so bad. I will 100% play a game to get one. Yeah. It was a game I was really bad at. So I was like, I'm not spending extra money to play a game I'm bad at for my dog to eat the cinnamon bread. Yeah.
00:37:31
Speaker
But I really. Hold on. I'm pulling it up because. That would be cool if it was cinnamon scented. That would be awesome.
00:37:42
Speaker
Yeah. Oh, man. ist that Hold on. I think Dollywood posted it. I think so.
00:37:48
Speaker
They're so cute. And there's like a big one and a little one. Yeah. And I must have one.
00:38:01
Speaker
Where are they? Did they get rid of it? I don't know. Oh, there it is. Okay. I found it. Look how cute they are. They are so cute. they're so cute.
00:38:13
Speaker
I must have one. Yeah, i I really wanted one. But also, like, the first day we were at Dollywood, I don't think I saw them. But the second day, it was snowing cold and empty. So I don't even think that we would have had enough people to win one had we played the game.
00:38:33
Speaker
um
00:38:38
Speaker
I really wanted it though.
00:38:42
Speaker
i will I will be at Dollywood next weekend. so Oh yeah. I will do some reconnaissance and see if I can get one. Yeah, you have to get one.
00:38:53
Speaker
I also can... You guys are going with a group. can Can you guys get the giant apple pie? I'm intrigued. I need to know if it's good. Me and Joey thought about getting it. Where is this? At the bakery, like right in the... it's If you walk into the park and go to the right, it's on the right-hand side. Like...
00:39:09
Speaker
Giant apple pie? Yes, there is ah Have you ever heard of this pie? No. It's like seven pounds slice or something. Good God. Seven pounds slice? It's a $229 pie. the largest pie I have ever seen in my life.
00:39:27
Speaker
Ever. I'm not spending $200 on pie. this is Well, you could buy a slice if you're in the park. Okay. Wait. Oh, boy. Hold on.
00:39:38
Speaker
what What is that? That is huge. Oh, wait. She put how big it was on it. Hold on. I mean, you can tell by like the scoop size.
00:39:49
Speaker
The entire pie 25 pounds. That is crazy. i want to eat this pie so bad. But me and me were thinking about it. I think it was like 15 or 20 bucks for the slice because it's huge.
00:40:05
Speaker
um And I was like, i don't know. i can't justify. It's three pounds a slice. That's so much apple. um that yeah that was like see bunch apple in that that's just healthy right because you're just eating a lot of fruit yeah exactly yeah it's it has fiber it's fine i think all the fibers in the skin and the skin's not on there but let's not let technicality There's probably at least five apples in a slice. so Yeah, it's fine.
00:40:33
Speaker
You'll keep doctors away for a while. I was about to say, I'll keep the doctor away. Yeah. Yeah. i If you guys have a group and everyone like people like apple, can you please get this apple pie and tell me if it's good? Because me and Joey really thought about it.
00:40:47
Speaker
Oh, it's $19.99 for a slice. That's not terrible. Yeah. For that big slice? I didn't think so either. I was like, that? Like for a regular slice of apple pie, absolutely not. But like yeah that is the largest piece of apple pie I've ever seen in my life. I'd pay 20 bucks for it.
00:41:05
Speaker
I only did it because I didn't want to. It was raining and I didn't want to carry it back to the resort. But I have to be in it the resort. To be fair, I am running a 10K that morning. So i I need the calories after that. good Yeah.
00:41:18
Speaker
Please eat the three pound apple pie. I will see. And let us know what you think of it, because nowre now we're curious. I'm intrigued. I need to It's humongous. Okay, well see, now I gotta ask Nate if he likes apple pie. Yeah.
00:41:38
Speaker
I need everyone to eat the three-pound apple pie. Weird question. What are your thoughts on apple pie? For scientific purposes. Yeah, I need you guys to report back.
00:41:49
Speaker
After the first bite, I need your first thought to be... Texting me. um And then he's also going to listen to this episode um on Monday and be like, oh, that's why you were texting me. yeah
00:42:04
Speaker
Yeah. I can't stop thinking about this apple pie. No. Is it also still the I will always love you festival when you're there? i don't know. How long is that going for? I don't know. ah That's why I'm asking. I don't know. I didn't even know there was a thing. Yeah.
00:42:22
Speaker
if If it is, they also have in the same bakery, they have this... What do you call a... What's the other word for a cinnamon roll? it's like It's not always a cinnamon roll. You could do it other ways, but it's like the same idea.
00:42:37
Speaker
What? No. No. Not sure. um Nate's response was quite literally neutral. It's mid. It's mid. um He said, like I like it, but I'll never crave it.
00:42:52
Speaker
Oh, that's kind of how I am too. But a three pound piece of apple pie at Dollywood that...
00:43:00
Speaker
I want to try it. Okay, so the I i Will Always Love You Festival. I got this. um
00:43:11
Speaker
Sweet roll, I think it's called. When it's not... um I think when it's not a like cinnamon roll, but it's the same like rolled up thing, I think it's called like a sweet roll.
00:43:21
Speaker
um Sure. I don't know They have a lemon raspberry one. oh It was to die for. i love lemon raspberry. It was so good.
00:43:35
Speaker
It was so good. I almost bought a second one. And it was huge. But um yeah, absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend. I don't know how we got on Dollywood.
00:43:47
Speaker
Because I'm going to Dollywood. And it was the cinnamon bread plushies. that's how we were talking about the cinnamon bread plushies. This is the most ADD episode of the podcast. Yeah, this is a good
00:44:03
Speaker
one. Yeah. Well, Dollywood food. Oh, I found it.
00:44:12
Speaker
Oh, that looks good. it's a What is that? It's a lemon raspberry like sweet roll. might die of a sugar overload if and and when I have that. Yeah. Oh, my God. It's so good.
00:44:23
Speaker
So incredible. But it's only there during the I Will Always Love You Festival. Okay. Did you find out how long that festival is going on? No, that was your job. I was texting Nate. I'm sorry.
00:44:39
Speaker
I'm trying to record a podcast here gosh oh April 12th no oh it's already done it's done sorry well then maybe the um maybe the red flu is in the parking or in the ah in the parking lot well no I the plushies I think are year round but the the cinnamon roll the sweet roll ah that's I'm more concerned about the cinnamon bread plushie to be fair Well, skill issue.
00:45:12
Speaker
um we're We're getting so off track, Nessa. That's okay. I don't mind.
00:45:21
Speaker
Talk about cinnamon bread at Dollywood? Say less.
00:45:26
Speaker
God, I'm going to... I cannot wait to have cinnamon bread. So it's Buzzbars event that we're doing. um And a bunch of us are doing the run Dollywood races or whatever.
00:45:38
Speaker
So I'm doing the 10K. um yeah I was doing the half marathon, but I was able to change it because I have not been training well. Yeah, and literally part of the itinerary is a cinnamon bread meetup.
00:45:52
Speaker
Yeah, that's that's so nice. Yeah. I'm excited. Also, somewhere, there's a video of Mike inhaling a whole thing of cinnamon bread in like 15 seconds.
00:46:05
Speaker
Really? Is it really 15 seconds? That sounds disgusting. I'll have to double check with him. I don't know if it was recorded, but I was on FaceTime with him when he did it. That sounds disgusting.
00:46:17
Speaker
I think it was when he was at Silver Dollar City, but yeah, he inhaled like the whole thing. That's crazy. Probably take a nap after. Yeah, how do you even continue your park day after that?
00:46:29
Speaker
Mike is a garbage disposal. You know this. That's ah that's true. That is true. I'm going actually ask him approximately how long did it take you to inhale that cinnamon bread that one time?
00:46:41
Speaker
but Nessa, do you have any fun projects coming up do you have any fun trips? the I guess the one that we're looking forward to the most is Hollywood Nights right now.
00:46:55
Speaker
I really wanted to go to the Dollywood meetup for Buzz Bars, but the plane tickets are crazy right now. It's so hard to get like decent tickets. So, yeah. Yeah, I feel like um Tennessee is always really expensive to get tickets. Yeah, Like, why it takes me too long to get to Dollywood, too. Because it's like, the tickets have... I feel like they're always... Knoxville is just a hard airport to fly to.
00:47:22
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, it is, for sure. and then just Pigeon Forge in general is tough to get to sometimes. Yeah. That's why both times I went, I ended up driving. Yeah. So...
00:47:34
Speaker
Are you going to any other Buzz Bars events this year? We're really trying to, but the the tickets are just not working yeah so far. Like, we wanted to do Canada's Wonderland 2, but yeah, it's just it's been really hard this year.
00:47:49
Speaker
Yeah. And I definitely don't want to drive 10 plus hours to get there, so that's rough. Can't relate. Yeah, everywhere. Oh, Mike said it took him between 30 and 45 seconds.
00:48:04
Speaker
Still disgusting. In an impressive way, but disgusting. It was it was fascinating to watch.
00:48:16
Speaker
Allison, is is that the moment that you were like, this is the man? it was well before that, to be fair. Okay. and That confirmed it? What a man. What man. What a man. what a man
00:48:35
Speaker
God, this episode is off the rails.
00:48:40
Speaker
This is what happens when we have no supervision. We have another person um curious, Chris, curious about any um figures or inspiration from um for your content. It's basically the same question as before. Yeah, pretty much the same one. We have a lot of people that are intrigued. I think because...
00:49:02
Speaker
Like, your content is so... I feel like in the theme park world, it's it's so... Unique? Unique. Yeah. But also, like, it's it's so, like...
00:49:15
Speaker
I don't know. i feel like taking the things that are happening mainstream and then building them into the theme park community is something that not a lot of people do, but you do it really well. You pull it into our like niche. I was just about to say, it's very niche, but that's why it works so well.
00:49:32
Speaker
Yeah, that's that's definitely part of what I want to do too, is you know with the connection and everything. like You had mentioned just you know connecting with other people that are kind of relate to that with the theme park stuff and all that.
00:49:48
Speaker
Yeah. Do you know what your next reel is going to be? uh not sure right now like i have some ideas but yeah i'm not i'm not sure yet um do you plan out your content ahead of time or are you just kind of like as you get it you post it as it's kind of version hits yeah it's kind of just impulsive like i just think of something and i just get really excited and i just go all in and then yeah how long does it usually take you from like idea to posting
00:50:22
Speaker
A couple hours. That's kind of impressive. I feel like I get an idea. It takes me like forever. Yeah. im Well, some of them where I had to change into different clothes and stuff. Yeah, that definitely took me. That took me a little longer, but yeah.
00:50:39
Speaker
Yeah. It's impressive. Yeah. i'm thinking I'm so bad with reels. Like I've tried some and just got annoyed at it and stopped. Yeah, I get that.
00:50:51
Speaker
and we're like I know I did reel recently of like um Ryan from the podcast last week. Whenever that was. um And I literally edit things on like Premiere Pro and upload them. It's not quite as a streamlined as yours probably are.
00:51:09
Speaker
That's cool though, you know. It's just, you know, having fun. that's We gotta bring that back. Just having fun and just... yeah Making content just to have fun with it. and like i miss I miss the days of like YouTube where people would just make really silly videos and then just put them out there.
00:51:30
Speaker
like Kind of like Vine. Yeah, kind of like Vine where you just made a goofy video and it was just goofy. i think fun Communicate an idea within like seven seconds.
00:51:41
Speaker
Yeah. And then you figure out how to execute that idea. Yeah, for sure. And it almost kind of seemed like it was ahead of its time because now reels are just crazy.
00:51:52
Speaker
Yeah, like the transitions that people do are wild. Yeah. I think that like Vine is... cut i I feel like Vine is kind of where this kind of short content came... like Oh, for sure. 100%. Oh my gosh.
00:52:05
Speaker
To think how far we've come. Yeah. Still though, Vine. Every day. i still quote Vines. like yeah yeah We literally had a Vine quoted in our group chat like an hour ago.
00:52:18
Speaker
Yeah. Every time that I get on Big Thunder Mountain, I go, it's freaking bats. I love Halloween. It's like my favorite Vine. Yeah, like here's the one. Of course, Nate said it um from like an hour ago. Free shivakadoo.
00:52:36
Speaker
sh I forgot that one.
00:52:45
Speaker
ah kind of miss Vine. Me too. Like I got into it just as it shut down. i'm like man. Yeah. i I loved it. It was like by far the best app.
00:52:57
Speaker
Maybe just need to start making seven second reels. I don't know though because I feel like they wouldn't I feel like they would not translate now. I feel like you need at least 10 or 20 seconds now.
00:53:10
Speaker
And you need to be more creative in your Vines. Like, I feel like Vine was perfect in its time. But I just, I don't know if it would translate at this point. Which is sad because it was the best.
00:53:23
Speaker
i mean, Instagram is so focused on, like, short form video content now. Yeah. Except now you can put 10 minute videos on there. Well. But. It's like TikTok was kind of a similar vibe because wasn't it like a minute cap at one point or something?
00:53:41
Speaker
I think originally it was like 15 or 30 seconds. Then it was a minute. Now it's like three minutes. think you can even do 10 minutes now. I don't even have a TikTok so i I have no idea. Yeah, yeah I deleted my TikTok.
00:53:53
Speaker
I only know TikTok trends when they get on Reels. Yeah, pretty much. Nowadays, though, like everyone cross posts. That's why I got rid of TikTok. Because I was like, everyone is cross posting. Why am I on two different apps? Yeah, it's just more room on my phone. Yeah, exactly. um I can live with that. I did prefer TikTok, but I was like, if I have to delete one of them, id I would rather keep my feed on Instagram. Yeah.
00:54:20
Speaker
To communicate with people. For sure Agree. Not that I'm really any good at posting on Instagram at all. I mean, you're doing weekly on on the on the podcast. Yeah, I've been going hard on the podcast lately. Yeah. It's awesome.
00:54:38
Speaker
Yeah. Thank you. yeah It's been a fun trying to get Jen every week on here now. Yeah. And this is why she thought it was an off week.
00:54:49
Speaker
ah Yeah. I'm really unorganized. Yeah. I'm not a very organized person. think Hey, I'm with you there. i am with you there.
00:55:01
Speaker
and Once we come back from the honeymoon, I think we'll be a little more organized for the podcast. Yeah. We have some some fun plans. That's exciting.
00:55:13
Speaker
We do. I trust Alice. I probably know. You're like, we do? question mark yeah you Surprise. No, I feel like we do have some that we've talked about. I just don't know what the actual schedule is.
00:55:28
Speaker
I mean, I haven't planned out anything past the honeymoon. So I hope we still got a pre-record stuff for the honeymoon. Yeah. Oh, it's going to be a busy couple of weeks because also when I'm in Europe.
00:55:39
Speaker
So we're going off of you in Europe and then me in Europe. Yeah. We have a lot of pre-recording to do. Well, I'll be able to do some stuff while you're in Europe. Yeah.
00:55:52
Speaker
But pre-recording stuff so I don't have to bring my laptop with me now. Yeah, I do have to take my laptop with me, but I am not willing to be up at two o'clock in the morning to get on a podcast. Sorry.
00:56:04
Speaker
Also, Joey would kill me. yeah i can just imagine me like whipping out my computer at like two o'clock in the morning. He he would just like. I think that he would just like explode, not like of anger, just like explode with like not understanding. What the heck? Like it would be so funny.
00:56:27
Speaker
And then I'm going to be like, this is because you ate tuna on your pizza and you made me eat that. Oh god, I forgot about that.
00:56:36
Speaker
I didn't. Mikhail texted me and said, i think that he might be a cereal guy.
00:56:42
Speaker
I was like, I can confirm he's not. but um But his pizza choices are questionable. But German pizza choices. Who puts tuna fish on pizza? I'm going to talk about this for the rest of forever.
00:56:56
Speaker
who does that that's wild he ended up at Rolantica and then my boyfriend got it did he like it that that does sound very interesting he's like what do you mean it's normal and I'm like it's not normal I literally reached over it was on me heres on me I reached over and I grabbed that pizza and I took a nice fat bite out of it and he literally said you're not gonna like that and and you did not like that I did not like that It's very interesting. Tuna on pizza.
00:57:30
Speaker
Yeah. That's a word for it. Yeah. Europeans, man. I say that. Pineapple on pizza. Who cares about pineapple on pizza when the Germans are putting tuna fish on their pizza?
00:57:46
Speaker
Yeah. that's ah That's interesting for sure. but Now we know it really gets Jen fired up. Voyage and tuna fish on pizza. And, oh my gosh, I'm having a brain fart. feel that herey part Hersheypark. You know, when Allison doesn't listen.
00:58:06
Speaker
yeah yeah yeah I wouldn't know that she got fired up. I wasn't paying attention. Yeah, she does that she never pays attention to me. I just always ignore Jen. Yeah. um Yeah, no. i have I have some set things I get fired up for. That's okay.
00:58:25
Speaker
Coaster Madness is traditionally one that I get insanely fired up for. That one. oh yeah. me Yeah. Insane, you say? Insane? No, that's a chrono.
00:58:40
Speaker
Yeah. Coaster Madness gets me. I get really fired up. Last year. Because of Voyage. No, there's some other ones that get me too. But last year, we finished the like recap episode of um Coaster Madness. And I like finished up and my my door was closed. And I finish up and I go downstairs and my my whole entire, like everyone who lives here is like, are you okay? like You were yelling for like hours.
00:59:09
Speaker
i was like, no, I'm not. I'm emotionally unwell. It's okay. Okay.
00:59:18
Speaker
So we have one more question that we have. um So Ethan posted this. And I think I know why he posted this one specifically. I was scrolling through some of your POVs at one point. And then I saw the back of my head. And like, oh.
00:59:31
Speaker
Oh, yes me yeah. That's me. Yeah. I know. That's split hair anywhere. um But Ethan asks, what's your favorite and least favorite POV you've taken on a roller coaster? Oh, boy. I've taken a lot. um ah My favorite?
00:59:46
Speaker
It was probably Ravine Fire 2 was probably one of my favorite ones. Just because that was the first time I rode that. And holy moly, that thing was crazy. i was not expecting that that drop and just it was insane.
01:00:03
Speaker
The view from the top of the lift hill is gorgeous. Oh, yeah. Oh, my gosh. It's it's so pretty. Jen, have you been there? No, I have not.
01:00:15
Speaker
It's a very cute little That's true, you hate wooden coasters, so. You would absolutely love it. Yeah, I actually hear that one's really good. um So it is on my list. I would like to go there. It's not too far from my house.
01:00:30
Speaker
um But I have not been there. don't know if I should say this, but it's like a mini voyage. Oh. Well, that just ruined everything for me. No. on Funny enough, what draws me to that park is not the roller coaster.
01:00:52
Speaker
They have. Have you ever. Have you guys been to Kennywood? Yes. Oh, my gosh. I love Kennywood. I'm in the Jennywood with you. Kennywood with you. i call it Jennywood. Jennywood. Jennywood.
01:01:05
Speaker
When did we? Oh, were you? Carblesburg. Yes. We were all there. I don't remember. I don't remember. i do remember. But I didn't remember you being there. That was like pre-podcast, to be fair. Yeah.
01:01:18
Speaker
but So maybe we just didn't. I feel like we, yeah. feel like we knew each other in passing and we hung out sometimes, but we weren't as close. Correct. I don't remember. know you were with Christina.
01:01:31
Speaker
Yes, I was with Christina and Laurel. It was our girls' trip. Um... But they have a Noah's Ark attraction that I love. It's like that trippy one. Yeah, that's that's good one.
01:01:45
Speaker
Yeah, Wannemir has... There's only two of those by that... like It's like an artist that made them. It's only two of them in existence and the other one is at Wannemir.
01:01:57
Speaker
Yeah, that one that one's good. I remember going on that one. There, that was that was really good. I want to do it so bad. The Noah's Ark, I'm like, every time I get on it, I'm like, how is this allowed?
01:02:09
Speaker
yeah Because I'm like falling into walls. Like, I remember the first time I did it, I was like, i feel like I'm under the influence like a lot right now.
01:02:24
Speaker
And I was like, I feel like I'm trapped. Like, I don't know. it was like crazy feeling. Trippy. I'm literally just trying to find pictures of you from that event.
01:02:38
Speaker
fit I won a tasting lander e lanyard. Yeah, I think we did too. Oh, that was so much fun. Did they do trivia? Do what? Did they do trivia? Is that how we won it? I feel like it was raffle.
01:02:51
Speaker
oh it was just a raffle. Okay. I was like, I feel like I remember doing something silly to get the tasting pass. I thought I had a picture of like y'all. Oh, did you take the picture of us and Molly?
01:03:06
Speaker
We have a picture. Maybe. There's a picture of the four of us that we're all together in front of. I might have. I thought I would have taken something on my phone, but.
01:03:18
Speaker
Um.
01:03:22
Speaker
I don't know. I'd have to find it. I apparently didn't post it on my main feed. I did find a video that I might need to make a reel out of, funny enough. What's that?
01:03:34
Speaker
We put like the camera just underneath or on the ground underneath steel curtain and it's just like everybody doing weird things to the... boy It's all vertical. and like Maybe I can make something out of it.
01:03:46
Speaker
Oh, stop. It's fun. don't know. There's some randomness that's going on. It's so silly. It really is, but that's just kind of us in a nutshell.
01:03:57
Speaker
Yeah, you should. You should make a reel out of it. We'll see. I'll have to glance through it a little more. I don't know where that photo is. i have to find it.
01:04:10
Speaker
um
01:04:15
Speaker
Anyway. Very distracted right now. We're doing great. We're doing great.
01:04:24
Speaker
um Oh, I know the picture that I ended up using for like the episode art of you, Vanessa, is from Rollercoaster Rodeo. And they sent me a bunch of them and then I just stalked her Instagram. I'm like, I like this one.
01:04:38
Speaker
Yeah, alone I like that one too. Yeah, that felt like a good vibe for it and it fit the frame. But um how is Rollercoaster Rodeo? I've heard like nothing but good things about it. So Rollercoaster Rodeo, the benefits alone are worth it.
01:04:54
Speaker
You get unlimited. um You pretty much have your pass to roller coaster rodeo is basically a fast pass. So you can skip the line like the whole weekend for Six Flags.
01:05:08
Speaker
And you get food and do you even get free mimosas on Sunday. Which I was like, what? Mimosas? That's awesome. That's cool.
01:05:20
Speaker
Yeah, and the ERT and the they have an amazing fireworks display. And yeah, it's it's 100% worth it to go. I'm like so much behind the scenes stuff that you get to do. Yeah, yeah, you get to do lift walks, which that is an upcharge. But that's where that picture came from on top of Superman.
01:05:38
Speaker
So worth it. It's a workout, though. I'd never walked up a lift hill, and I was like, holy smokes, I am dying. That is a hike. But the pictures turned out great.
01:05:49
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, no, it was. I always see pictures of everyone crawling around on Poltergeist. oh yeah Oh, yeah, that was really fun, too, that you get to touch the coaster.
01:06:00
Speaker
That was slash so exciting. Slash hug it and fall asleep on it. Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
01:06:07
Speaker
Just don't do pull-ups on them. They they don't like that. Really? Yeah, Chris did that and they're like, eh, don't do that. That's interesting. That feels really random. Yeah.
01:06:19
Speaker
Like, what's it gonna do? Hurt the coaster? Yeah, I don't know. And he also laid on it and they were like, don't do that. It was a good picture, though. Yeah.
01:06:30
Speaker
That feels really weird. Yeah, like I've tried when we did Winter Chill Out and got to go in the Millennium Tunnel. I, you know, I don't have any upper body strength, so i really didn't do much, but I tried to do a pull up on Millennium.
01:06:42
Speaker
I tried to do a pull up on Millennium too. to I could not do it. I can't do it. Again, yeah, no upper body strength, but I got cute pictures me and Mike on it. It's worth it.
01:06:53
Speaker
I got on his back and held onto the track that way. Oh, cute it was cute. I love that picture, actually.
01:07:03
Speaker
Oh gosh, when was that? don't even know what year that was. I think that's what manifested our first ah Europa trip.
01:07:14
Speaker
I know 2023, I think, is when they went the into the tunnel. Yeah, it was 24. I was like, I know they went to the tunnel. That's an awesome picture. I love that picture.
01:07:27
Speaker
That's cool.
01:07:30
Speaker
I don't get to hang out on coaster track very often, so... yeah got him Yeah. Get all the pictures you can. for sure there we go There's Mike doing pull-ups on it. hu Nice.
01:07:41
Speaker
Impressive. Yeah.
01:07:47
Speaker
Do you have any like reels in your mind that you like want to do, really excited for, but like you're just not ready to execute them? like Do you have anything like do you have like a backlog in your mind of things?
01:07:59
Speaker
So it's kind of crazy, but I want to do a stop motion picture video. And I'm not really sure how I'm going to make that one work out, but I really want to do do that. That would be so cool.
01:08:12
Speaker
Yeah. not sure how I'm going to incorporate but... Yeah, I think that would be really fun to do that. it's like There's an Instagram couple. I don't follow them, but their reels pop up all the time. It's like Chan and Jamal or something like that.
01:08:25
Speaker
Yeah. It's like a Super Mario sound and she's like jumping through the air. It kind of makes me think of that. Yeah. don't know. I'm trying to think about like how you could do that at a park or something.
01:08:38
Speaker
Yeah, I want to do it like I'm riding a ride, but I'm not really sure what ride yet. but Make yourself go upside down in stop motion. Yeah, yeah exactly. i don't know.
01:08:48
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know going to make that work. Rotate the phone, I guess. know. I don't know either, but that would be so cool if you could execute it. Yeah.
01:09:00
Speaker
Do you think you'll get more into like fun transitions at some point, too? Um, yeah, I think so. That's one those, like, I always see them and i'm like, this is so cool, but I don't have the patience to do it myself.
01:09:16
Speaker
Yeah, it definitely can be time consuming for sure. do have couple, like, saved in mind for our Poland trip that involve, like, I think I posted one on my story that i was just like, I need to do this or something.
01:09:31
Speaker
You should. Yeah. They just like, they do like that or like pull their hands apart and a beer shows up right there. That would be good. Yeah. You just reminded me that I have this reel that I made
01:09:45
Speaker
almost a year ago at this point. But I needed one more photo. Or like two more photos or videos. And I...
01:09:58
Speaker
forgot well now you gotta finish it no now you're gonna finish it you need that picture the real I don't even know if I'm gonna post it at this point because I might have to redo the whole thing and I can't do it at this point um the real is literally me like you know those reels where you have your hand out yeah like a beer or like whatever So I have my handout and I'm like on a plane in an airport in another plane. one of those. My whole journey.
01:10:26
Speaker
And then I get to Europa Park and I still don't have a beer. But then I have a beer at Wilder Hilda.
01:10:35
Speaker
But I think that I needed like one more clip that I forgot to take. i Oh man, I'm so sad about this because now it's like if the clip, if my clips don't line up, now I can't post it because Wilde Hilder is dead.
01:10:54
Speaker
Wilde Hilder. Okay, I found this real. going to send this to both of you so you can see what I'm talking about. And I really want to do this at the wedding too. I still have it.
01:11:06
Speaker
Like, I'm looking at your realness again. Yeah, guess Vanessa's recording on her phone, so she can't. Yeah, sorry. I'll see you after. yeah
01:11:17
Speaker
Oh, maybe I should just... Oh, I forgot the Europa Park shots entirely. So that's why I didn't do it. I, like, started to edit it and I must have forgotten the Europa Park shots entirely. so I just jumped right. But I feel like it's gonna be so much better if I put Europa Park in the middle, no? Yeah. yeah year A year later.
01:11:39
Speaker
yeah now, like, Wild Hill is not there anymore, so it's gonna be so clear I recorded that a year ago. Yeah. But I think it's going to be so, like, I traveled everywhere. I went to Europa Park.
01:11:53
Speaker
Yeah. And bam. Wilde Hilde. yeah Oh, I'm so glad we just talked about this, guys, because I forgot that it really existed. See, now... You gotta finish it.
01:12:05
Speaker
What's that? Yeah, yeah, I gotta finish. Yeah. Yeah. Um...
01:12:11
Speaker
I thought I heard you swear. so i was But thinking back, I'm like, no, that's not what you said. um Yeah, i see, now, you know, the tens of people that listen to us know that you need to post this reel, Jen.
01:12:25
Speaker
And it'll take you four months to do it. fool me I have no no control over this one. nice Someone tell Nate that I have to take the video when we when we see each other at Yoruba Park.
01:12:39
Speaker
We'll make sure it's done. night will Nate will listen to this and hopefully send me a saluting emoji. Nate, I trust. Nate, you trust.
01:12:51
Speaker
I'm going to text him that. He's going to be like, why do you keep talking about me?
01:12:59
Speaker
We just talk about Nate now. This is actually the inverted Nate podcast. was said Just said on the podcast, innate we trust. Like, why?
01:13:12
Speaker
and indeed we trust
01:13:16
Speaker
We'll see what he says.
01:13:21
Speaker
Yeah. I'm sorry. We're off the roof. Oh, I don't mind at all. This is probably just good entertainment for you. Yes. What a way to spend a Thursday night.
01:13:35
Speaker
pretty good. I mean, it's a good pre-coaster season night. Yeah. Oh, I'm ready for coaster season. On coaster season Eve, when all through the house, everybody has ADHD.
01:13:51
Speaker
and And I was trying to think of something that rhymes with house. Yeah, I was really intrigued to see what your fourth line was going to be. But I won't go see Mickey Mouse. valid that's not a good not a creature was stirring not even wild mouse because not even wild mouse because cedar point's not open yet oh poor cedar point Yeah.
01:14:18
Speaker
And, you know, some of us on this podcast won't be its attending opening day. I'll be there the next day.

Wedding Plans and Chaotic Fun

01:14:26
Speaker
Because someone has to get married on opening weekend. Someone's not going to be at Tony Parks opening day.
01:14:33
Speaker
Yeah, because someone has to get married on opening day. And, you know, you're kind of taking part in it. I'm going to like literally show up and then fly back to Dornie. No, I'm kidding. I would never.
01:14:50
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know if we've i've actually said it on the podcast, but Jen is going to be our flower girl. Oh, nice. I'm honored. With a corgi Easter basket full of flower petals.
01:15:03
Speaker
that It's going be incredible, guys. The X700 is going to be there. No, I don't know. Is it actually? Because it probably could. the x700 i i mean it's probably gonna be in the car it is gonna be in the car with me because i have to take pictures at king's island and cedar point should um but it is i think can i get you to take some pictures at the reception if you like me too sure yeah that'd be awesome yeah i could take some pictures for funsies yeah for sure i can i'll pay for a roll of film or something
01:15:35
Speaker
Yeah, we'll we'll work something out. It can be my wedding gift to you. That'll be fun, actually. Yeah, I can take some pictures. That's fine. Yeah. And then it's even more fun because I feel like as I drink a little bit, they get more chaotic. I get really creative, but then they also get really chaotic. you'll get more out of focus.
01:15:57
Speaker
Yeah, you'll get some really good ones at the beginning and then you'll get some really chaotic, funny ones. The whole night's gonna be chaos. Yeah, it's fine. No, but absolutely. I can take some pictures for sure. i can bring The X700 will be on my journey because my project requires photos of Kings Island and Cedar Point.
01:16:18
Speaker
So I will also be I'm going to try and take my photos at Kings Island before you guys do your tailgate. We might not even get there super early.
01:16:30
Speaker
Oh, okay. So I might be able to like pop open so over super. Yeah. And then. I mean, people are going to be so hung over that morning. Yeah. Yeah. So, okay.
01:16:43
Speaker
I like how we're just planning a wedding weekend. Live on the podcast. Live on the podcast. We're going to wedding weekend stuff, guys. Since I can't be at Dorney Park. Yeah.
01:16:58
Speaker
I knew this all along. That's why we planned it when we did. It's so funny, but I was like, I don't know if we've talked, I've said this on the podcast either, but my friends have gone to Cedar Point opening weekend since like before I knew them, like my core little group of friends. Um, and every single year since I have met them, I have been invited and not been able to go.
01:17:21
Speaker
um One year I planned like a Disneyland trip the same weekend and like I couldn't get a room a different weekend. So I had like I couldn i couldn't change another year.
01:17:32
Speaker
Last year I was in Europe. Again, booked my flights before knowing opening weekend. Like it's always just worked out. So I should have known like I have plans the second week in May.
01:17:45
Speaker
Plot twist. We're opening second week of May this year. We were annoyed that they opened a week later than they usually do Yeah, like, what did you do, Cedar Point?
01:17:56
Speaker
It was just funny because it was like, this was my one year. I was like, guys, I'm in this year. Like, Cedar Point opening weekend. I'm good. I'm not going to Europe. Early May. Everything's good. We're good. And then, bam.
01:18:11
Speaker
They changed their weekend. Cedar Point. Tony Clark, what are you doing? Is he even in charge anymore? Laurel's dad. What?
01:18:22
Speaker
I call him Laurel's dad. I don't remember why. but
01:18:30
Speaker
and should just text her a picture and be like, hey, it's your dad. yeah that i can't even remember why that happened. But Laurel's dad. Noted. I'll have make reference to that at some point.
01:18:43
Speaker
It's like one of these jokes and no one understands. Just like um I lost my ID. i threw my ID in the trash after going through security at MCO. I threw my whole wallet in the trash.
01:18:55
Speaker
Oh my gosh. And I this is terrible. Do not take from me. If you guys don't know this, I'm really chaotic and I'm chaotic in my whole entire life. No. I didn't get a license for like over a year after that. I drove around with my passport because I had a Colorado license. I lost the Colorado license and getting a Pennsylvania license when you don't have the Colorado license, like getting it switched is like jumping through hoops. They make it impossible. So like it took me like over five trips to the DMV to try and get a license. I couldn't get one. So I was driving around with my passport and a paper from Colorado that was like
01:19:36
Speaker
It had some official seal on it just saying that I do have a valid license. I just don't have it. So I was driving around like that for a year, but Laurel was with me in the airport. So literally, like, the whole, like, year and a half after that happened, because I told all our friends, I was like, Laurel stole my my ID in the airport. Like, I know she stole it. And so then...
01:20:00
Speaker
The whole like year and a half after it happened, we would like go and get a beer and I'd hand them my passport. And they'd clearly judge me because I'm handing them my passport. And every time a bartender would judge me, I'd be like, hey, this is my friend Laurel. And she actually stole my ID. And then I would just leave her. Wow, just throw her under the bus.
01:20:21
Speaker
And it would get to the point where she would be Jen, don't do it. And I'd be like, this is my friend Laurel. And she stole my ID. Wow.
01:20:28
Speaker
Then I would just leave. like okay Passport's weird, right? My friends stole my ID.
01:20:40
Speaker
But it was like a year and a half because I didn't i would hand them a passport for so long.
01:20:48
Speaker
You know, I can tell that you're just like highly caffeinated right now. I'm doing great. I'm never

Bucket List Theme Parks

01:20:53
Speaker
sleeping tonight. It's going to be
01:21:00
Speaker
Do we have any other ah questions or thoughts? Anything else you want to talk about, Mesa? oh I don't know. You guys are pretty entertaining.
01:21:14
Speaker
Sorry. oh no. I don't mind. um what are What are some bucket list parks for you to visit? are Definitely Energylandia, Afteling.
01:21:26
Speaker
I really work at Afteling. The Thavia looks so cool there. I'm obsessed with Efteling. Yeah. Those are probably the two biggest ones that I definitely want to check out.
01:21:39
Speaker
Have you been to Plopsaland? Yes. Oh, well, I've been to Depend. I haven't been to the other one. Oh, that's the one that matters. Ride Happiness. that was That was pretty sick.
01:21:51
Speaker
Yeah. and when ah that's I want to ride that pretty badly. It's so good. it's good. Yeah. 1010 recommend. yeah You gotta to get to Efteling though. I think Efteling... Efteling is up there for one of my favorite parks too, which I just find it really hard to compare it to Europa. They're very different.
01:22:12
Speaker
Oh, Europa, yeah. I i bet. yeah The theming though and the charm at Efteling, my gosh. Unlike anything ever. i love it.
01:22:25
Speaker
This time when we go to the Netherlands, like Joey was like, oh, we could go to Toverland, we could go to Wallaby Holland, and, like, threw out some stuff, and then he, like, did not mention Efteling, and I was like, yeah, but we're gonna go to Efteling, right? Like, I was like, we're we're going to Efteling.
01:22:42
Speaker
Like, he's like, yeah, we could go to Efteling. Yeah, we're going to Efteling. There's no, we could. No, we're going.
01:22:53
Speaker
Yeah. I mean, it makes sense for us to go because we both get a free ticket with Europa Park passes, too, but, like... Oh, that's cool. Yeah, Europa Park does like some partner thing where like every year you have a pass, you get a day ticket get to like a handful of parks. And like most of them are like random parks, but Efteling's one of them. That's pretty sweet.
01:23:15
Speaker
Yeah, it's really nice, actually. um
01:23:20
Speaker
I used two of them last year, Europa Park, and then I ended up going, take it like, I was in Dublin for, like, 20, not even. It was, like, 12 hours, and we went to, um what's the Tato Park?
01:23:38
Speaker
Emerald. Emerald Park, yeah, and that's and included, too. Oh, nice. It's, like, such a weird part perk of their past, but I like it. Yeah. like we're um We're going to get into Gronoland for free because we're ace members and you can get tickets to Gronoland.
01:23:58
Speaker
What? but are you You just have to be an ace member and you just get him for free? Seriously? Yeah. i think There's a couple of Sweden parks, I think. I think Kilmarden you can also get into. i Really? That's why I have an ace membership right now.
01:24:13
Speaker
Well, shoot. That's pretty cool. That's insane. I had no idea. Sorry, I just completely cut you off because I was shocked when you said that.
01:24:24
Speaker
there's ah There's a few parks.
01:24:28
Speaker
Mike confirmed a bunch of them recently. But...
01:24:38
Speaker
That's so interesting.
01:24:43
Speaker
I can't find the full list of it. But yeah, there's a couple.
01:24:50
Speaker
Maybe
01:24:57
Speaker
i think I think it's so smart when they do things like this because especially if you're a smaller park, I just feel like it ups your Guest.
01:25:10
Speaker
Number pretty good.
01:25:14
Speaker
even remember my

Perks of Park Memberships

01:25:15
Speaker
login. I have a login. I think. say
01:25:20
Speaker
Unable to load. Okay.
01:25:26
Speaker
Maybe I won't be able to find out. Yeah. It's not logging me in. Even though I know I've. signed in before well i don't know no oh well i can't find the list of parks um it's like don't know it's some random parks but it is i'm just like determined to find the answer to this now
01:26:09
Speaker
uh
01:26:13
Speaker
oh it says you have to be a you have to be able to sign in to view the complete listings dang it
01:26:24
Speaker
Anyway, we're supposed to be interviewing Vanessa.
01:26:28
Speaker
Instead, I'm trying to look up membership or benefits for a a coaster club I'm a part of. I mean, that's pretty interesting that out of the country they have places you can go to with an ace membership.
01:26:40
Speaker
Yeah, it's so it's so bizarre. It is really crazy. I had no idea. i also found the list of parks and I'm silly. It's not a bunch of small parks. It's actually some pretty good parks. I think it was just parks that I was like, I'm not going to this year. So I wrote them off, but it's Efteling, Pleasure Beach, Liseberg, Port Aventura, Isla Magica.
01:27:03
Speaker
i think it's in Spain. What's that? I think that's in Spain. It is. Yeah. Emerald Park and La Palme. And then a discount at Plopsaland. But it's just funny that I was like, oh, it's parks that don't matter. Like there's not that don't But I was like, it's little parks. No one cares. it's like Leisenberg.
01:27:23
Speaker
like it It's just one of my favorite parks in Europe. Yeah. Port Aventura. Like what did Jen, what were you what were you doing when you read this the first time?
01:27:40
Speaker
I'm just going to reset my password and try to get this figured out. yeah It's such a cool thing though. I had no idea Ace offered that too. i think that's one of my favorite things about my Europa Park pass. like There's a chance that I won't visit any of these but it does make me feel kind of like appreciated as a pass holder. Yeah, for sure. which i think that like a lot of other like I feel like a lot of the places I have passes I don't feel that way. I feel like I'm being nickel and dimed.
01:28:10
Speaker
Yeah. So it's a very nice little perk. And like I know we have a Silver Dollar City pass that we mostly got just for. um I didn't know I had an actual login name. I thought it was just my email. um But like we got a Silver Dollar City pass mostly just for the discounts to other Herschen parks.
01:28:33
Speaker
Which, funny enough, the ah the aquarium in Cincinnati is also owned by Hershend. Really? So we can get in there for half off. So I actually was just reading that because i didn't realize that there was actually any relationship between Silver Dollar City and Dollywood at any point. like I did not realize that. Oh, really? yeah i like found that out when we were curious about it in like the queue like I think that I was reading something on a wall and it said something about Silver Dollar City and I was like that's kind of wild and I looked it up and it was literally called Silver Dollar City I think it used to be called that before Dollywood yeah it was and and they made partnership like Hershen bought them and they named it Silver Dollar City it was like Silver Dollar City
01:29:23
Speaker
I'm looking it up. It wasn't just Silver Dollar City. It had something else in the name. um Let's see. Oh, here we go. Okay. Gronilin, Comartin, Furuvik? Furuvik? I don't know. And Scar of Summerland.
01:29:40
Speaker
Oh, that's not bad. Yeah, not bad at all. You get discounts on mountain coasters? Hell yeah. Sorry. i'm I'm literally taking screenshots because I'm like, I need a bunch of these.
01:29:51
Speaker
Heck yeah. Save these for later. It was a very creative name. It was called Silver Dollar City, Tennessee. Very. Very creative. But I had no idea. I didn't know that they... I don't know why. i didn't know that they were owned by Hershen.
01:30:08
Speaker
Or I guess partially owned by Hershen. Because they're also owned by Dolly. Yeah. I'm also texting Mike right now. like, did you know we get a bunch of discounts on mountain coasters? Yeah.
01:30:21
Speaker
Now your trip's just going to turn into mountain coasters. To be fair, like like all of the ones in Pigeon Forge get discounts. Wow, that's cool. um Oh, and Waldemere.
01:30:32
Speaker
Waldemere. But we were going to do bunch of mountain coasters on Sunday after Dollywood because I need to get to a certain point so I can get a milestone on Insane. At Grinland?
01:30:45
Speaker
Yes, at Grinland.
01:30:49
Speaker
um Another place that Ace gets discounts at, that um something that you referenced earlier to today, Jen, Cadbury World. Cadbury World? What is that?
01:31:01
Speaker
something with the Cadbury you think they eat Cadbury cream eggs all the time guys I am not a big like candy eater like I go through my moments but I don't eat like a ton of candy however Cadbury cream eggs they're pretty good yeah it's I've eaten in the last like couple of days because they're on sale now of course yeah I've eaten probably 10 of them in the past like three days geez And I'm not slowing down anytime soon. I'm not slowing down until they are out.
01:31:37
Speaker
Sorry, I'm just looking at all the benefits right now. Elitch Gardens, too. We talked about going there this year. I never want to go there. We talked about doing a Denver trip this year. lagoon Oh, you said Elitch. thought you said Bush Gardens. Elitch Gardens. Okay, that's okay. You can go there.
01:31:58
Speaker
I thought you said bush. oh so That sounds like an awful time. No. um Yeah.
01:32:14
Speaker
I'm so distracted. We probably need to wrap up soon so I can go to bed ah I feel like we're maybe a little wrapped up now. We're just like running. We're just running through random stuff now. We're doing great.
01:32:30
Speaker
Well, I hope you guys learned a lot about what your ACE membership can get you. And what your Europa Park Pass can get you even though they're not on sale anymore and most of you don't have them. So sorry, actually not. no
