Introduction and Spontaneous Trip
00:00:00
Speaker
You are listening to the Inverted Creative Podcast. I'm Allison. I'm Bryant. And I'm Jen.
00:00:17
Speaker
Welcome to a very special edition of the podcast. Because me and Mike got married on Friday. Yay!
00:00:28
Speaker
apologies right now for any ah weird audio things with this. We are currently in a car. It's 7.50 in the morning. And we're driving to Cedar Point. Because, you know, it's opening weekend and we're day tripping Cedar Point.
Wedding Highlights and Humorous Moments
00:00:40
Speaker
Because we're stupid. It's a great idea.
00:00:44
Speaker
So it's me and Mike in the car. And then we have my maid of honor, Nate. Yay. And Mike's best man, Kyrie. He sounds so excited. He's half asleep right now.
00:00:57
Speaker
We're surprised he even made it into the car, to be honest. I mean, we did we didt leave at 5 a.m. Yeah, we left at 5 a.m. m We made our Bucky stop already. He was still in bed at 4.45. No, I bed.
00:01:13
Speaker
So, we're we're surprised that we're... You were 100% asleep. That's when I came down to the bottom of the steps and yelled, the Cedar Point Express is leaving in 15 Get up or you're getting left behind. I'm not.
00:01:27
Speaker
We left a little late, but that's fine. We're going miss early entry, but, you know. Oh, no. Harry's a peasant with a gold pass. He doesn't get it. My lobster's too buttery. My steak is too juicy.
00:01:41
Speaker
But, uh, anyway, when, uh, two coaster enthusiasts get married and they met through a coaster club, you know that the wedding is going to be, like, very full of, um heinous reception activity but also just a lot of coaster details lot of insane jokes ha that's a grown one yes um insane was mentioned many times during the wedding the wedding was pretty sick that's a flamingo land yeah the wedding will be a an icon of weddings that's a black pool but it we uh it was a good wedding and it was a big one yeah which is also a black pool yeah
00:02:20
Speaker
I hate all of you. I don't even know, like, what really to talk about. Well... I mean, can talk about, like, a lot of the details that we put into it. Because, you know, I'm a hyper planner and plan most of this thing. Yeah. um A lot of... I did a lot of hexagons for Fury. Yeah.
00:02:44
Speaker
And we did our engagement photos in front of Fury. You can't forget about Voyage everywhere. There was a lot of Voyage, yeah. Yeah. Our cake topper said our Voyage begins.
Travel Theme Reception and Favors
00:02:54
Speaker
I said it at the end of my speech. Mike worked it into his vows.
00:02:58
Speaker
Yeah. oh I made a comment in the vows about, I promise to ah do all that I can to not let you pass me in credit count. And is that got a loss. Oh my God, there was so much cheering for that. was shocked. Yeah.
00:03:12
Speaker
Um, the end of my speech, I'm just going to say it so everybody on the podcast can hear it. If you've written voyage, you'll know. I said, people have traveled from far and wide to the wedding of this groom and bride.
00:03:26
Speaker
Now it's time to celebrate your voyage begins without delay. That's how I ended my speech. And I love, and people love that too. Nerd. I am a nerd. So how are you. Yeah. Aren't we all?
00:03:38
Speaker
Yes. Yes. We're driving to Cedar Point a Sunday after a wedding at 7.50 in the morning. Yeah. I would say we're all nerds. We did Kings Island yesterday, but we didn't do much because it was so busy.
00:03:51
Speaker
Yeah, Drop Tower was closed. Yeah. Ask me anything.
00:03:56
Speaker
need it for bingo. It's not like we look far. We'll get on No, I'll get it. I can see it from work. You're just going to, leave work one day when it's... Maybe Thursday. don't know. see it running and you'll just leave on lunch. Yeah.
00:04:11
Speaker
Um... Oh, so I made the reception very, like, travel-themed. Um... We themed the tables to, bomb the ten countries that we've been to together up to this point.
00:04:26
Speaker
Um... and like, in order of the countries we've been to. And so each country had, like, a picture of us from there, and then for the cocktail hour had snacks out from each country. I spent way too much money at Jungle Jim's.
00:04:41
Speaker
Wait, I just realized something. Huh? Were the head tables America in the dance floor at the Atlantic Ocean? Well, the head tables Italy. I needed something for the head tables. I just made it Italy. guess Canada was over on the other side. Yeah.
00:04:56
Speaker
Um... Yeah, the head tables were Italy, just because I didn't know what else to put them as. And that's where you're going next. Yes, exactly. I did not actually know that. Oh, what, they were Italy? Yeah. I put it just on the... So the seating chart was a departures board for, like, an airport.
00:05:15
Speaker
And I needed something to put for people at the head table, so just said Italy and then table number H. It was not themed to Italy, at least. Yeah. Shout out James for the centerpieces. So our buddy James, i know we've talked about him on here before, he 3D printed a bunch of coaster track models, and we had one on each table.
00:05:35
Speaker
And there was one that had a bigger support structure than all the others, so that ended up on our head table, and it was Vortex. Yeah. I think people people really liked it.
00:05:46
Speaker
They had rested pieces. Yeah. I have one of them. I have one of the pieces of Vortex. should have just had you bring piece should have just brought my giant chunk Vortex track. And just put a chunk of Vortex on the table.
00:05:57
Speaker
But with that many enthusiasts in one room, I don't know if I'd have made it back home with it, to be honest. So, it would have also had fit flowers in it, too. Just put the bouquet right in.
00:06:09
Speaker
I would have purposely brought my saws all. Sorry, Nate. Your chunk got a little bit smaller. Yeah.
Ceremony at Urban Artifact Brewery
00:06:16
Speaker
I don't know what happened. And that's why I didn't bring it.
00:06:22
Speaker
No, I just didn't even think about it, to be honest.
00:06:27
Speaker
But yeah, for the reception for the cocktail hour, of but encourage people to like go to the different countries and try the different snacks from each country. Travel around the world with us. I think people really liked it, though.
00:06:39
Speaker
Cobb, our... The owner of the company we work at really liked it. Yeah. He has a candy addiction. He was going everywhere getting candy. His wife came to me like during the cocktail hour and said, hey, Tom would like all of the leftover candy delivered to the shop because he's tried all of them.
00:07:01
Speaker
I don't know if there was any leftover candy. No, no. I think... I'm very disappointed about that because I wanted the candy from Sweden so bad, but I'll go buy more in a week. Oh, no. We'll be there in, like, four days. Yeah, I know. Yeah, you'll actually be over there. Yeah. I will be buying more Dame and, like, bringing it through Italy with me.
00:07:21
Speaker
All I saw left when I walked through after everything had been picked over, I saw, like, one bag of Tato chips, and I'm not sure I saw anything else. Like, i don't think I saw any other snacks or candy of any kind. I think one of the boxes did have some kind of candy in it. was It was Swedish Fish.
00:07:38
Speaker
There was another chocolate one. Oh, the reason? There was a lot of reason. Yeah, I accidentally bought two for Sweden. it the 13th reason? Oh, Jesus.
00:07:52
Speaker
Oh, and the um the we did favors that were out luggage tags that said, like, and so the adventure begins or something like that. put And, like, put the individual seating names on there. i really like that touch. I thought it was cute.
00:08:05
Speaker
Yes, it was. The reception was about what you would expect for a group of coaster enthusiasts. And then, you know, our families kind of awkwardly being like, what is happening right now?
00:08:18
Speaker
I don't necessarily want to promise anything for the Patreon because I don't run it. But we do have a lot of footage thanks to myself and Gary from the reception. Gary did a phenomenal job it's getting so much great footage. We sat there last night and just watched a lot of footage.
00:08:38
Speaker
to uh continue recording i handed off to gary and he's like will take care of this i'll just say that um so we got married at urban artifact in cincinnati which is my favorite brewery uh it's in an old church so the tap room is downstairs and then the former sanctuary is a gorgeous event venue it was everything i wanted so naturally we had a lot of alcohol yeah it was it was flowing and it showed yeah we'll say that
00:09:09
Speaker
Um... Yeah. so So, the footage is very interesting. interesting There was lot going on. Yeah. Um... Oh.
00:09:22
Speaker
Um... Brian and Jen are not here with us. They were... Flower Girl and Ring Bearer at the wedding. Um... Jen had a, uh... Corgi Easter basket full of flower petals.
00:09:36
Speaker
And then Brian had a... give the rings to Kyrie because otherwise we probably would not have had the rings at the wedding. And Kyrie miraculously Kyrie did not lose them. No literally like right before we're getting ready to walk down the aisle and getting set up and i'm like Bryant you have the rings can you open it and show me that you have the rings so we cannot mess this up. It's like looking for your passport when you're at airport. Yeah exactly. You check it like 10 times.
00:10:01
Speaker
I'm like will you physically show me that the rings are in the case. But all was good with that.
00:10:10
Speaker
Kyrie did not manage to lose them all standing in one spot. Nice. Before we got to the drinks part. You did well. You did well. You did your job well. I would like to think I did my job well as well on the other side of things. Yeah.
00:10:24
Speaker
You did very good. I fluffed the dress. Guys, don't worry. I handed Kelly my flowers. I grabbed Allison's flowers. Except for the first... When first went outside for pictures, you were letting her just walk and drag it on the ground. It to be expected. Yeah, it was going to It's not going to be perfect. I mean, there's beer stains my dress, so... was able to hand Allison a tissue during the ceremony when she started tearing up a little bit. Mm-hmm.
00:10:53
Speaker
And I pulled Jake out of the way of the photo. I got like two words into my vows and I started crying. this is The picture that we got where you could see you literally yanking John Mike out of the background. John Mike was our officiant.
00:11:09
Speaker
We'd known for a long time he was going to be our officiant. And he dressed as a ringmaster from Greatest Showman. a lot My dad said he looked like Willy Wonka. He did. he did It was phenomenal. It was absolutely perfect for our vibe.
00:11:22
Speaker
um oh i gotta talk about the music you do yes um i had a very strong vision for the music for the entire night and like even during rehearsal i got chills listening to the music and how perfect it was onces the music hit for the first time on the uh Like, during rehearsal, it's like, oh.
00:11:45
Speaker
This is going to good. This is going good. So, we started, like, we got everybody set up on the stage for a rehearsal. And then we started with, like, the recessional. So, we all, like, knew where to stand. And then to kind of go out from there. And then we would...
00:11:57
Speaker
go through the pro processional of like how everybody walks in to get to their spot so the recessional song that we did was the uh chiapas party song and we did that one first and i'm like oh my god this is perfect just partying our way out of the recessional yeah um so then for the for everybody walking in for the ceremony all the guys went out at first to the f1 theme song Yeah. And I think like y'all did that you're just like, oh this is awesome.
00:12:32
Speaker
They were locked in. Yeah. Like doing it during the rehearsal, I'm like, oh yeah, this is going to be good. And then once it actually hit during the actual ceremony, it's like, oh yeah, this is good. Yeah. This is really good. I had originally thought like, I found like a string version of the theme song and like sent it to Mike and I'm like, you know, this could be an option.
00:12:53
Speaker
And then listened to the original. I'm like, you know, Why not? I didn't know how good the sound system was going to be in there. it was really good. Once we heard Chiapas hit from the altar, it's like, okay.
Photography and Coaster Music Preparation
00:13:07
Speaker
the sound system's really nice. Yeah.
00:13:10
Speaker
This is going to be really fun. So they all walked into the F1 theme song like all in a row, just strutting down the aisle. All of us except for show.
00:13:21
Speaker
are f1 fans but he still had fun with it yeah yeah um might stay on the road um so after driving just fine after the guys uh brian and jen started the uh bridal party processional um and they walked into the europa park suite and like f1 fading into the europa suite it worked so well really well um The timing worked great for all the bridesmaids and then for Nate to walk into Europa Park Suite.
00:13:54
Speaker
It felt like Disney almost. It did. It really did. It was really cool. Especially, like, being in that sanctuary is gorgeous. It's crazy, though, because Europa is better than any Disney park. Oh, i agree, but... Hot take? I don't know. It did have very Disney vibes.
00:14:10
Speaker
Um... And then my entrance song in the most me fashion ever was the soundtrack to Taron. Which worked perfectly because i get hit and then there's almost like the the bell, almost like a bell at the beginning. Yeah. And that's when you saw you and your dad step out. Yeah.
00:14:29
Speaker
Like it was perfectly timed. Yeah. And then we like sit at the top of the aisle until like there's the like, oh. Yeah. The where it really hits. And drop. Yeah. And then that's when we started walking.
00:14:41
Speaker
I'm not sure if my dad knew what to expect with that song, but it was a lot of fun. I mean, if you don't know the song at all, it just sounds like a beautiful orchestral song. Yeah, you don't know what it's from. Yeah, it's just a great it's just a good song. that Honestly, that's like the sign of a good soundtrack or just like area music. Yeah. um Cocktail Hour music, I think we just had the Rookberg soundtrack on.
00:15:06
Speaker
um dinner soundtrack was the project hail mary soundtrack this wasn't technically part of the wedding but since we were in the bridal suite getting ready i most of the time was playing just helix slash lisa burke songs so yeah that was going on during the the bridal party getting ready or the bride side getting ready.
00:15:27
Speaker
I think we had some like, i threw in other stuff. Yeah, we did some Mecladon. I had Euromir. had Mecladon. I threw in Fly at Fantasialand. It a very nerdy getting ready. I cannot comment on the music that was played while we were the guys.
00:15:42
Speaker
I mean, Y'all were all just like chilling. Like Nate went back to the house. Like we stayed at a house half a mile from the venue. Oh, we, we left. We were asleep. We left.
00:15:52
Speaker
We got KFC on the way back. Yeah. I took like an hour nap. I wouldn't even, I wouldn't even say it was a chaotic bridesmaids side. Like some could be like, it was pretty chill, but we were like doing stuff and getting ready and like active the whole time.
00:16:08
Speaker
But then I went over to the Airbnb. I walk in Kyrie's asleep. Mike's asleep. um show and show is up talks to me alex and john mike are not there oh the alex one got a haircut yeah alex did go and get a haircut yes so alex went up uh like 15 minutes away to get a haircut Literally around this corner from a Target.
00:16:33
Speaker
You know where I'm talking about. Where Burlington was by the old house. Oh, yeah. That's where he got his hair cut. You know where Target is from there. Yeah. He ended up in Newport to go to Target. What? Yeah.
00:16:44
Speaker
It's like 20 till 3. I told him we need to... I said we need to leave the house by like 3, 3.15 to start walking over. Like 3, so we leave by 3.15. It's like 2.40 and he's still not back. Yeah.
00:17:01
Speaker
yeah alex cause you might Alex if you're not back in time I'm telling Allison and she will murder you yeah because I told the guys to be at the venue at about 3 30 uh because we did a first look before everything and then we did like bridal party and family photos before everything happened um so that way me and Mike during cocktail hour me and Mike just went out and Nate helped i was there I was the dress carrier and yeah
00:17:27
Speaker
Flower holder. flower holder. And veil. The veil thrower. a girl There's a really good picture The flopper. Of yeah me and Mike. And then like the veil is in the air and you can see Nate's face in the background.
00:17:40
Speaker
Yeah. Throwing the veil. I think there's some of Kelly like that too from the
Reception Liveliness and Memorable Events
00:17:44
Speaker
bridal photos. Oh yeah. Bridal party photos. But I don't have those yet. She said it was easier for her to run backwards. Yeah. She was trying to get out of the footage or picture. We haven't gotten that half the photos yet.
00:17:55
Speaker
Photographer was a... My coworker at work. He was awesome. Coworker at work. Yeah, my coworker work. Yeah. Shut up. Yeah, he like doesn't have a huge amount of experience photographing weddings, but... For what I've seen so far, he went all in, and I'm so happy.
00:18:17
Speaker
Would you say like 5,000 pictures? Yeah, he texted me later in the night, or the next morning or something, and he's like, yeah, i have about 4,987 photos, and that's after deleting a bunch, and that's not including things from the second shooter's phone.
00:18:32
Speaker
Like, filled up memory cards. Oh, he was great.
00:18:38
Speaker
Speaking of filled up memory cards, we had two dedicated sd cards for my two GoPros to record as much as we could. We filled up the entirety of a 32 gigabyte one and Gary and I combined our efforts on the 64 and filled it halfway up.
00:18:55
Speaker
Which is a lot of footage. Yeah. I'm glad I didn't get the 32 like we originally talked about for that one. Yeah. actually Well, it was 29, so it would have been almost out if we had used a 32.
00:19:09
Speaker
But, yeah, it worth it. Worth buying a new one and getting one of my empty ones that I was never going use. Yeah. I carry around two fifty six is i can't i can't go around
00:19:21
Speaker
But, yeah. there's so much good footage of that. There's a lot. There's a whole music video of John Mike dancing. Yeah. And it's awesome. John Mike with Toxic. And then shout out to Tom for...
00:19:35
Speaker
Having his hand in the air and coming right down on top of Larson's just filled up drink. like knocking it first song of the night or something. First song of the night. First or second song, immediately a party foul. Yeah, and knocks the entire drink that Larson had his hand on the ground.
00:19:53
Speaker
that Larson, like, had the look of, like, ah you know, a child... Dropping his ice cream. Fresh ice cream. Yes. He had this look like a... What? what it What happened? Yeah. Where'd it go? It's on camera. It's phenomenal. um I have pictures of ah John Mike.
00:20:11
Speaker
ah We did ah I Want It That Way, which is basically like the club theme song at this point. Everybody got so into it. And I took pictures of John Mike during that, I posted him on Discord. He's like, I don't remember this. I'm like, my guy, this was the second song of the night.
00:20:24
Speaker
Yeah. Like... How do you not remember it? To be fair, the bar had been going for like two hours at that point. Yeah. I didn't really start until after my speech. Yeah.
00:20:35
Speaker
Yeah. I mean, I started. the So the tap room was open during the day. um oh yeah i got you some yeah like the tap room opened at three like we got things we started photos at 3 30 yeah right at three o'clock i'm like nate can you go get me an astronaut food which is a 15 beer by the way yeah and they poured six ounces i'm like i don't even know if they're supposed to fill this whole glass yeah that's considered a full pour i know i i don't know ball like that and i was like oh i guess it's just getting like a quarter glass here okay no that's that's like drinking whiskey yeah
00:21:11
Speaker
um so there's a really good picture of like kelly fixing my hair i'm just chugging an astronaut food yeah that picture's a vibe i was like four or five beers deep before we walked over to the venue yeah um yeah once the open bar hit all bets were off oh yeah it got fun up in there we we uh kind of kept a loose tally of how many people puked that night
00:21:38
Speaker
Did we get to 10? About to 10. I think it was about 10. Okay. There were like 80 people in attendance. So like, yeah, a solid 10% of the people at least. Yeah.
00:21:49
Speaker
Oh man. People had some rough mornings at Kings Island. I wasn't even at Kings Island when it was still morning. Yeah. How did your evening end up? Oh, I 100% was in the bathroom in my wedding dress puking and in the toilet while Mike read our cards.
00:22:05
Speaker
And open kiss. I had to go back through the cards last night so I could make sure I actually i did read them.
00:22:15
Speaker
Did you start drinking before your speech, Kyrie? I had like a few beers in the house. Okay. was curious. How much baffle did y'all go through? the We killed a 24. And you got into a natter days too, right? We killed a 24 pack of baffle.
00:22:31
Speaker
We killed a good chunk of a 18 pack of Modelo. We started into a case of natter days last night. Hey guys, not to derail, but we are about to drive past a carnival bike truck and it's carrying like slides.
00:22:49
Speaker
It's carrying parts for like great mass slides. For a second, I thought it was a dragon wagon. No, that would have been way cooler. Although this, what's this? This is like a roundabout or something. Yeah, this is like a flat ride. Not a roundabout. They wouldn't be carrying that on that spot. tilt-a-roll kind of thing maybe? Yeah, could be.
00:23:05
Speaker
It's a small flat ride. Yeah. Himalaya. land Oh, that's cool. Well, that's fitting for the podcast. i Yeah, I know. I didn't see the show, man. I didn't read it very well. but That was cool.
00:23:17
Speaker
It might be Murray Brothers.
00:23:21
Speaker
Fun things can happen when you podcast on the road. you remember which one it was that got an award at the Golden Tickets this past year? I do not remember. They they were based out of Cincy. Oh, interesting.
00:23:33
Speaker
Interesting. it's two sisters oh yeah yeah i remember that now but i don't remember who it was maybe we'll see some b&b track on the road somewhere that'd be cool that would be very there would be very interesting yeah so we've had that happen before but not on live on po no not live on podcast did you see the comment there yeah i did um know We were going to do something and we saw B&M track on the road because Claremont Steel is not that far away.
00:24:07
Speaker
It was when Dad and Lori were out of town. We went to check on the condo for them. Then we were going to Korea and barbecue down in Florence. and It was a piece of barracuda strike. We very strongly considered following it for a while. But that was pretty cool to see.
00:24:25
Speaker
Just randomly. Yeah, that was the second time I've seen it in the wild. Yeah. The other was a piece of... Raptera. Okay.
00:24:39
Speaker
any other any other like wedding details notable things um gary gary read off a uh yeah poem gary did a reading about like what is his soulmate i thought it was it was a really fitting one for us yeah yeah i spent long time trying to find a good reading for that but gary had his voice gary has the voice yeah yeah it it was it was really good very eloquent he was shaking the whole time though I think he's used to like voice recording on camera.
Honeymoon Plans and Coaster Enthusiasm
00:25:06
Speaker
Yeah. He did a great job. Yeah. He did really good.
00:25:09
Speaker
Um, Jake did phenomenal. yeah. John Mike did an amazing job. He threw in so many inside jokes. Yeah. Um, yeah Mentioned, like, stuff about my book. He got me to tear up a couple times. Yeah. I didn't think I was going to, I did. He was really close to breaking into tears a few times during the ceremony. He made it.
00:25:30
Speaker
He made it. But afterwards, like, we all came back into, like, you know, we all met back up in the lobby area or whatever afterwards. Oh, he was just ugly. Ugly cried. Ugly cried. Yeah. Oh, my God. Like, all the emotions just exploded out. Yeah.
00:25:47
Speaker
Um... trying to think if there's anything else that was like i was gonna say something forgot the food from oh yeah it was good the food we had a taco bar from kendato taco i did not eat much because i had a little bit going on i should have eaten more i should have too apparently people were worried about my speech people were just getting like spoonfuls of steak oh at the end of the night i went over and they had the little cardboard boats I just grabbed a scoop of steak and poured it in. Took a fork.
00:26:19
Speaker
Just ate that. Had some chimichurri sauce and cilantro lime aioli. Yeah. Cheese was good. Yeah, we had like a chips and dip party thing. So we had smoked cheddar queso, salsa, and guac.
00:26:34
Speaker
I had a little bit of queso and then just nothing else. And a couple tacos. Oh, cake? Yeah, was going to say, mentioned your cake. Yeah. So we had... Lavender vanilla, was it bourbon chocolate cherry, yeah and a caramel macchiato.
00:26:52
Speaker
The lavender vanilla was so good. I liked the macchiato. I don't think I had the third one. I had the lavender vanilla, and it was, like, I liked it, but I liked the macchiato better.
00:27:05
Speaker
Did you mention your cake topper being your voyage begins? fully designed our cake topper and had it printed ah where we work. And I'm so happy with how it turned out. But yeah, it says our voyage begins. another voyage reference.
00:27:16
Speaker
Yeah, and I had a little... ah I put a, like, faded picture of us in front of Wildfire on it. we We did get that saved. Like, that is somewhere, right? I don't know. We just threw bunch of stuff in boxes. Yeah.
00:27:30
Speaker
And it's all back in the house. It should be somewhere. We'll have to sort through it probably after we get back from Europe. Yeah. I don't think much sorting is going get done this week.
00:27:42
Speaker
I wouldn't. I wouldn't worry about it. You go on your honeymoon first. Yeah. Are you going to talk about, have you talked about on the podcast what you're doing for the honeymoon? Yeah, we could talk about where we're going for the honeymoon. That's, yeah, that's ah up to you. Yeah.
00:27:53
Speaker
Your milestone's going to be insane. It is. Literally. At Gruneland. At Gruneland, yeah. Um... Yeah, so we we're flying out, and we're we have a night in Stockholm. so we're going to go to Groniland, where we'll get $7.50 on Insane.
00:28:07
Speaker
Yeah. And it'll be Insane. Yeah. At Groniland. It'll be all right. yeah, it's it's a very okay coaster, but it's just become such a joke. um I honestly really, I'm going to be completely, like, transparent here. I love that ride. I love Insane. At Groniland.
00:28:26
Speaker
front Yeah, at Groniland. You know, it might sound bad, but it's definitely top 75, maybe. now i don't know if I'd say top 50. But, I mean, out of almost 1,000, that is really high. and How does it compare to, like, Kurnu? purnew Yeah, it's very similar to Kurnu. Like, very similar.
00:28:47
Speaker
i was very surprised. The Zaxpins are fun. I love both of them that I've written, Kurnu and Insane. It sounds like the one at Magic Mountain. just got really bad rap for how bad it specifically was. Its trains were so different than the ones, it's kind of suffered from Goliath and New England syndrome. It's like their trains were so heavy that it made it genuinely like painful to ride and and it did not move at all.
00:29:12
Speaker
As you guys know from Curnu, they move some. they don't They're not like S&S where they like flip. I actually really don't like the S&S free spins. But I love the two Zag Spins I've been on.
00:29:24
Speaker
And Insane is just a longer layout. has a beautiful view from the top of it. It's one of the best views in the park because you're just, you're up high and you're sitting flat and you're going slow at the beginning.
00:29:37
Speaker
um i I really like Insane. a I really like the ride. It's fun. And a lot of people that I hear that go on, like, Scandinavia trips, they end up loving Tornado at Bakken and not liking Insane at Gronelund.
00:29:52
Speaker
I'm the exact opposite. i love Insane. I'm not a fan of Tornado. I didn't mean to get into a tangent. I'm sure this road noise is just like yeah so good for the audio right now. I'm trying to talk over it, but the Ohio roads here are not helping.
00:30:08
Speaker
um So after Stockholm, we fly over to Rome. We're going to do a day in Rome, just exploring. Our very first stop in Rome is going to be ah after the hotel, we're going to McDonald's.
00:30:22
Speaker
Which is as if a fancy McDonald's. Yeah, it's a really fancy McDonald's with ah like statues in it. It just looks really cool. And then we'll get McDonald's out of the way and then we'll eat a bunch of Italian food, I promise. Rigatoni pasta.
00:30:37
Speaker
Don't spill your drink. Oh, it's empty. um So yeah, we're going do a day in Rome. the next day we're going to do a three-park day. We're doing... I never know how to pronounce it, but... Which Sinicetta. Oh, I don't know the Italian parks. I, well... I think, uh, Mikhail confirmed it was Sinicetta. Sinicetta.
00:30:56
Speaker
Ah, whatever it is. um We're doing Zoo Marine, and we're doing Magic Land. Eurofig 30? That's not yet. Oh, sorry. That's not at Magic Land either. I thought it was at Zoo Marine.
00:31:08
Speaker
No. That's my bad. Like I said, I don't know. No, Zoo Marine has a shortstop that we're going to have. Okay. There's only like two credits. That is at Fasado Landia Zoo Safari. Yeah. Oh, okay. That's why I was confused.
00:31:19
Speaker
Okay. So after like after the three-park day, we're going down to the Amalfi Coast. I'm gonna be there for a couple nights. That's like our actual like honeymoon part of the honeymoon where there's no creds there we're just gonna enjoy it.
00:31:34
Speaker
Have fancy dinner reservations, have a speedboat tour the coast. That'll be really cool. I'm really excited. We have like an oceanfront view room Airbnb.
00:31:48
Speaker
From there, we go over to Zoo Safari, Fasanalandia. Where I am likely, if the numbers continue to line up, hitting 700. On Eurofigther. Probably.
00:31:59
Speaker
i hypo we are getting the typo coaster. Maybe I'll do it on something else. You could do it on that little, uh, inverted red thing. I forget who makes it. Oh, I think it's a Fabry.
00:32:10
Speaker
Yeah. Oh, no. One of those, like... Not one of those. One of, like, three across inverted coasters. Oh, man. Um... And then from there, we're gonna drive up the coast, go to San Marino.
00:32:21
Speaker
Um... Okay. When we were planning this out, the plan was to hit Mirabilandia first and then Gardaland, but Mirabilandia's schedule is annoying and they're only open on Fridays, so we're going to have to go up to Gardaland first.
00:32:35
Speaker
then come down. And then come back down to Mirabilandia. Uh, we are planning to do, what, Magic Movie Land Park or whatever next to Gardaland we can get the other in Vertigo.
00:32:47
Speaker
we're going to try to go to Fia-Balandia and get that, um... It's like the precursor to the traveling Wacky Worm. Yeah, so it's, from what I've been told, it's the same kind of track style with trains as the Wacky Worm.
00:33:05
Speaker
But it was built before they started doing the traveling ones. So it's kind of like what it inspired it. Yeah. It's pretty perfect. Can you remind me which park has the gay cat that I get Magic Land. That I get to hand deliver to Jen at Europa. that's Yeah, that's Magic Land.
00:33:22
Speaker
Okay. Somewhere in there we're staying at the first F1 track of the trip. So... The night before...
00:33:34
Speaker
gardaland we stay in bologna okay but then we are not no we are doing a night in bologna there's a night bologna and a night in emila i just don't remember which one is which yeah so bologna is before gardaland and after we're done at the parking at gardaland we'll drive down we are staying in the city of emila which is near the emila track
00:33:59
Speaker
probably sneak over and walk around the track before we go to the park the next morning. Yeah. that's the first F1 track of the trip. Yep. Um, I gotta let him have his fun. Um, wow, there's a lot of cops over there.
00:34:13
Speaker
Toasters aren't fun enough for Mike. I'm just kidding. Why are there so many cops? Wide load. is it? Yeah, it's like way out. What the heck is that? The bucket, like the moving mechanism for like a bucket on it. It's like a giant piece of equipment. Like a giant earth mover. Anyway, after Mirabilandia, we're going to go over to Milan.
00:34:36
Speaker
And we're staying, what, next to the staying at Monza. Which is, we're staying at an Airbnb, which is pretty much right by the final... final tour turrets on the the ponza speedway and then the next morning we have ah the autodromo international devanza sure um but the next morning we have a tour scheduled of that yep um get to see all the hospitality areas the pit i know nothing about one so this is all going cargo through yeah pretty much
00:35:12
Speaker
Get to see where Max Verstappen won last year, Kyrie. Max Verstappen. I tried to add that to the reception playlist, but... Oh, that's another thing I've got to mention.
00:35:24
Speaker
Yeah. But we'll get through the honeymoon stuff first. Yeah. um And then after the tour, we head to the airport and then we fly to Krakow where we have a group of us First off, we meet up with some idiot at the airport.
00:35:39
Speaker
Two idiots. Two idiots. And Alex. Yeah. um So we have about nine of us flying into Krakow. from all over like looking at our little spreadsheet of where people are flying from yeah it's wild alex and i didn't coordinate our flights but somehow ended up on the same flight from amsterdam to krakow so we'll show it together about what is it 15 minutes after you guys it's like it's like within five minutes oh it's like five of five and five ten very close together yeah it's all right by each other okay so and then we're gonna go to krakow we have a cabin energylandia
00:36:13
Speaker
For all of us. We're going to go to... Trampoline. Yeah, we're going to have fun on the trampoline. ah The next morning, we're going to go to Auschwitz. And then which India.
00:36:27
Speaker
and Dark red, dark red, dark red. And then, hopefully have a little bit of time to start with the gauntlet in Energylandia. And then we have two days in Energylandia. Get some of the easy stuff. Or like...
00:36:41
Speaker
I don't know. Just get whatever's available. I think going be just getting a bunch of, like, friends out the Yeah, whatever's, like, available and quickest to just get it out of the way. Yep, and then we come home from there. Nate continues his trip.
00:36:53
Speaker
I'm going to go see Jen at Europa. This was a happy accident because we didn't talk about it before either of us planned to be there on May 28th. Yeah. But we're both going to be there. She said she's going to buy me Polliner beer.
00:37:07
Speaker
Um, for like a Euro 50 at a gas station, which is, I love Germany. Um, you guys, you guys heard that on one episode of this podcast. I don't remember which one. I don't remember.
00:37:17
Speaker
but but But it was mentioned on the podcast because texted her about it. And then I get to be the, uh, delivery service to her from the, the gay cat park. I get to deliver like a, yeah, she wants a plushie from magic land. And then i think I'm going to be a delivery service for you bringing back, uh,
00:37:34
Speaker
or us maybe we get to share it yeah back to rum front that you yeah talked about at europe but that was it that i was literally di yeah and i was literally live texting nate during that episode about the rum yeah um i'm gonna try to get that and uh I guess if you guys want to know, I am going for four extra days because I decided to take the whole Memorial Day week off because I get the Monday for free, basically. so That's why we planned the honeymoon when we did. Yeah. um So I am getting Holiday Park. Well, now it's Plopsaland Deutschland first.
00:38:09
Speaker
Finally getting EGF that I need. Then Europa Park with Jen and Joey. Um, and then I'm going to Tripstrill and, um, to finish off, I'm going to Gieselwind because I wanted credits.
00:38:26
Speaker
I don't think Will the Hilda will be rebuilt and back open yet, but I'll at least see it. And, uh, I'm looking forward to that. And I'm sure I'm going to grab some extra, like there's a fair that I'm already planning on, but I'm sure going to extra stuff in there as well.
Coaster Music and Guest Interactions
00:38:41
Speaker
Um, um mentioning wildahilda that's a good segue to something i did just remember chicken coaster yes yeah um we did have some nerdy songs during the reception oh yeah had to wildahilda was one of them and there's video of everyone just like walking around like chickens there's a whole like at least minute long video of me and zach dancing like chickens yeah you and zach bethany did a lot sarah did a lot Um, yeah, that was, that was hilarious. I should have put the Helix theme in, but that's fine.
00:39:11
Speaker
Um, and I, that felt more of like since, I don't know, Helix feels like more of a, uh, like background song than it does like a, like a party song.
00:39:22
Speaker
It would have worked, but it's fine. mean, like, kind of like devolved into like EDM stuff towards the end of the night. Don't worry. We got our Helix fix in, in the bridal space. Yeah. Before. Yeah. um energy landia definitely played yeah everybody loved that yo um did euro papa play yeah euro papa um the last song of the night was ready to go which it worked out really well baby i'm ready to go home yeah ready to go and now we're going to cedar point too so that works out i'm ready to go there too yeah except for
00:39:57
Speaker
Apparently Magnum is scheduled closure this weekend, and I'm sad because I wanted to ride it, but also my bingo, my poor bingo. what Alex, why didn't you fix it? Alex, why did you break Magnum?
00:40:10
Speaker
We were like at a coffee shop Friday morning before getting everything started, and Laurel was there, and she opened her phone. She's like, oh, Magnum's going to be down this weekend. And all and I fell to my knees at a coffee shop.
00:40:24
Speaker
Alex immediately puts his hands in the air like, it didn't do it, wasn't me.
00:40:29
Speaker
That was fun. um Mike wore a Terrence shirt under his outfit at the wedding. he's wearing a Terrence shirt right he's wearing it right now, too. um And he did the same thing at ah Tom and Kelly's wedding.
00:40:41
Speaker
Had the Terrence shirt as his undershirt. And I wore one of the three shirts I've been wearing recently to Kings Island yesterday match with Bethany and then proceeded to not see Bethany all day.
00:40:54
Speaker
So that was fun. Hey, we won't watch with me, so. No, you were in a dress. I was. And you had just married sash. Yes. It was cute. Thank you. I'm telling everybody listening that it was very cute. Such cute OMG, you could say.
00:41:11
Speaker
LMAO. Well, yeah. I'm trying to think of anything else.
00:41:19
Speaker
Shout out to Devin at Urban Artifact for being the GOAT. The staff at Urban was incredible. Yeah. Yeah. Like, I don't know. wasn't sure what to expect because, you know.
00:41:31
Speaker
Yeah. Hyper planner. Yeah. But he, like, when we talked to Devin for the first time and he saw, like, all of my planning and saw, like, our shared document or whatever for the night, he's like, oh, yeah, this going to be a great time.
00:41:44
Speaker
Even, like, at the end of the night, the bartenders, I don't think that people usually clean up as well as we did. yeah Because they were very, very appreciative
00:41:56
Speaker
clean, we had the place already. and we had they had We ended the reception at 10.30. I think by 11.30, we had the place completely cleaned and packed up. yeah Yeah. I was not doing well. I was in the bridal suite struggling. um yeah Shout out to Jen for that. Yeah, that that was 100% Jen's doing, but I'm A-OK with it. It was so much fun.
00:42:22
Speaker
I... i was also not helping at that point. Also partially because of... Jen didn't hand me a wine bottle, but...
00:42:33
Speaker
were hanging out. Oh, there's some great pictures of me and Jen with the wine at the end of the night. Yeah. Um, shout out to the urban artifact stairs for being all weird and scary.
00:42:47
Speaker
The ones like down to the tap room? The ones going up. No, no, no. Not, well, those are weird too, but the ones on the stage where like one of them was like extra wide. I was so focused on, I cannot trip during this ceremony.
00:42:59
Speaker
And Kyrie and I were so focused on like getting down them after. that's why We didn't lock arms immediately. that was then we started skipping. When we walked in for rehearsal and setup, I immediately pointed out that the bottom step was longer than the top. yeah It was longer and it was taller.
00:43:17
Speaker
Yes. Also, because somebody's going to not realize that trip. Nobody tripped. I was so proud. Nobody tripped. And I'm so, yeah, so happy. And we would have had it on camera. Yeah. Which is a good segue for me to say. I'm to give, I'm just shouting out a bunch of people. Go for it. Shout out to Ron, Mike's dad, for sitting next to my camera. And, uh.
00:43:38
Speaker
you know, kind of being next nearby it. Um, shout out to Allison's sister, Amy for turning it off when it needed to be turned off and grabbing it for me because the chairs had to be cleared. i didn't actually know she did that. Yes. Cause she was sitting right behind it.
00:43:51
Speaker
And then shout out to Gary again for getting my other camera, which was, uh, near the food place. I, yeah, they were very helpful with, uh, The camera set up so we can record everything. Yeah, we have one camera facing the stage and then we put another one like on one of the reception tables facing down like the aisle so we see all the... So we got us walking in and then walking back out.
00:44:14
Speaker
Why are you chuckling? And then like two nine minute clips absolutely nothing where you can hear what's going on but you can't see it because it was facing a away. Yeah.
00:44:26
Speaker
I'll post something about the wedding video yeah at some point. I might make like a music video. Yeah, it's all your footage. You can do yeah whatever. I know Gary probably has his own footage somewhere. A lot of his is mine, so I'm going to send more hours. I might make like a little folder or something.
00:44:44
Speaker
going to make sure he gets everything. He was like you ah he's like, you might not want to send me everything. i'm like, well, you'll get everything that I think you can use. I'll make sure that.
00:44:56
Speaker
Any other thoughts? Honestly, I mean, we've really covered everything.
Gratitude and Community Shout-outs
00:45:02
Speaker
Shout out to Javi for being Javi. Being Javi and handing out drinks. Instead of latching on to Allison and making sure she got drunk, he latched on to Sarah.
00:45:12
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Sarah And that was the first time they had met. yeah Yeah. Sarah came up to me and she was like, this Javi guy keeps handing me drinks. And I'm like, Sarah, you have met Javi now.
00:45:23
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah, that's what she mentioned it near the end of the night. I'm like, yeah, that's Javi. If he's around, you're getting everybody is going to have a good time. Yes. He just has a way of sensing when your drink is about to finish your drink.
00:45:39
Speaker
And he will walk up as you are finishing your drink. And trade it out. the empty cup and into your hands a full cup. Yeah, he did that to Sarah, I believe. Multiple times. He walked up and just drank and walked away.
00:45:50
Speaker
He found the loophole for the no shots rule at the bar. Yeah, apparently they were doing shots down at the bar. In the tap room. Oh, okay. After they did the bar cutoff. They weren't allowed to do shots at the bar in the venue. Yeah. But the tap room, apparently they can. Yeah. Javi found the loophole because of course he did.
00:46:12
Speaker
Yeah, a lot of people went down to the tap room to get other drinks. Um, cause there was more variety downstairs. It just wasn't paid for by us. Right. After the reception ended, it just became a taproom takeover. Yeah. Like before the, before the doors opened, everybody was downstairs in the taproom. Yeah. The doors opened.
00:46:32
Speaker
And everybody came up. And then after the reception, yeah, everybody went back down to get more. Yeah. During the cocktail hour, everyone was still upstairs. We went and did a few pictures down in the tap room. There was a ghost town. Yeah, those pictures came out really nice, too. really liked those pictures. Those were cute.
00:46:48
Speaker
I was just there for the vibe on that one. I didn't really have to help with those. No. I mean, I needed help getting down those stairs. Yeah, that's true. Kind of steep stairs going down into the tap room.
00:47:00
Speaker
uh overall it was a 10 out of 10 perfect day best wedding i've ever been to yeah there's a few people that have said i don't have that many i think even like sarah messaged me literally while we were recording and said um yes sir favorite favorite wedding i've ever been to you guys are amazing yeah so and now just shout out to everybody there because it was awesome thank you so much like so many people traveled for this and it meant so much to us who traveled further javi or gary
00:47:33
Speaker
That's close. It just depends on where Javi came from. and if yeah He worked like a whole trip into this, I thought. I think Costa Rica would be farther than Seattle. oh like It's close, I'm sure. Mikhail came from Vancouver.
00:47:46
Speaker
That's about the same. yeah that That is a little bit further than Seattle. Just barely. He went from um Vancouver Cleveland, though. Well, he went from Vancouver to Newark to Cleveland. That is the farthest. yeah gary Gary had to direct from Seattle. Yeah.
00:48:01
Speaker
And I'm glad he got, I'm glad Mikhail got his sunglasses back. Yeah. There's still a pair of sunglasses and we don't hit them. Now, those I had nothing to do with. They got left in my dad's car, so I don't think we're seeing them. For context, um I was talking to Mikhail at the wedding and he still had his glasses at this point.
00:48:21
Speaker
Not much longer after he and I had finished talking, I turned around and saw some sunglasses on the ground. And I think I asked every single person I could find in the venue if they were theirs, except Mikhail. And um everyone was like, no.
00:48:37
Speaker
And then the next morning... He talked to you in person? Yeah, no, he sent me a text message. Oh, okay. Hey, did you happen to find a pair of sunglasses? And I'm like, what do they look like? He sent me a screenshot. I sent it to Nate. He said, those are the glasses. Those are the glasses I asked everybody about except for apparently Mikhail. I mean, also...
00:48:56
Speaker
hobby left his jacket the tap room with his passport yeah the only reason we knew it was hobby's jacket was because he had his passport in it that like you might need that a little bit bud and uh kairi brought me my id at one of the bars we were at and so thank you the whole time kairi was just there for the vibes Yeah. Heck yeah.
00:49:23
Speaker
That's how you do it. Kyrie doesn't scroll up so he didn't know what was going on. um
00:49:34
Speaker
I think that brings us to the end of the episode. Thanks, Jen. You're welcome. Not everything was perfect. I'm excited for us to be married finally.
00:49:47
Speaker
You are now. Yeah. I'm excited to see you guys in Poland. Yeah. After you guys have had your honeymoon. Yeah.
00:49:58
Speaker
Yeah, we're going to go ah have a very slow day at the point. I'm going to go sit in breakers and edit this. i don't want to wait in lines. After I've out, Raven, we'll do it. We'll write a little bit. Harry is the one that really needs stuff. Yeah.
00:50:10
Speaker
Y'all can do that, and then me and Nate can do whatever. Yeah, Jen said she was going to come. Yeah, there's actually a lot of people coming up to Cedar Point right now. We're going have a crew. We're going to have a group, yeah. I need to ride Valerie for the bingo, but I might just wait until another week.
00:50:25
Speaker
I'm not. I got to go. I got to to be the first one. What is it that the square is? One of each. We're going to get one in Italy. Oh, yeah. You'll have a dive in Italy. Don't worry about it. Forget about that terrible one at Cedar Point. I have to go ride it because I won't see another dive for a while. Yeah, we can always just get the one in Gardaland. I could have gotten Chica in January, but it was closed for maintenance. I was going to say Busch Gardens. Be Busch Gardens. Yep.
00:50:51
Speaker
So my last one should have been Wild Eagle, the wing at Dollywood. But I have to get dive still. I still need a flyer. Well, I got Manta.
00:51:03
Speaker
Anyway. Do we have any flyers, man? I don't think so. We're going to have to get, like, Chicago. terrible. have plenty on going with Josh later this year. Okay. um i think it i think this episode would move on considering we're in car yeah hopefully it turns out uh it's also almost it's at 50 minutes right now mini so but it's not even a minute but a good a good large chunk for a mini so yeah um yeah thank you for all the support of the wedding um who came out it was a blast um
00:51:38
Speaker
Um, I have her, we have a recording i'm going to put at the end of this of Jake at the reception after we'd had a few drinks and just, you know, just talking about the night. So you'd be able to hear some of those shenanigans. Yep.
00:51:50
Speaker
Um, but until then keep thinking inverted, keep thinking creative. Yeah. Keep thinking creative. Holy crap. We're married. Keep focusing on those coasters.
00:52:02
Speaker
Keep arms down, head back and hold on. Yeah. Arms down. Arms down. Arms down. Keep arms down. um We have a few episodes lined up for on while we're gone. You guys are going to have hear me again. Yeah, Nate's going to be on one. um And then we'll come back and talk about the honeymoon for an episode.
00:52:27
Speaker
do a whole honeymoon recap. Yep. But until then, we will see y'all next time. Bye. Bye bye. bye Tyree, say bye. Bye.
00:52:42
Speaker
Mike and Allison, congratulations. Thank you again for the honor of allowing me to appreciateate your wedding I can't comprehend my gratitude. Words cannot convey my gratitude. There we go, that's my word.
00:52:53
Speaker
Now Gio was talking, so anyway. Love you all.
