Introduction and Rebranding

00:00:00
Speaker
You are listening to the Inverted Creative Podcast. I'm Allison. I'm Bryant. And I'm Jen.
00:00:17
Speaker
Well, I don't know who these Allison, Bryant, and Jen people are, Mikhail, but last time i checked, this is the Nate and Mikhail podcast or the Kaffenberger Williams Incorporated podcast.
00:00:32
Speaker
don't know what you're thinking. Yes, we feel we feel we feel as though the um whoever listens to this podcast, we're not actually quite aware. um We feel they need to hear the message that we though that we have for them on this very exciting business venture venture into into Law & Order that we that we have teamed up to sort of...
00:00:57
Speaker
Our firm has absorbed Inverted Creative and we are now owners and um lead commentators on the Inverted Creative podcast.

Podcast Name Change Discussion

00:01:11
Speaker
We're now going change the name to ah non-inverting podcast. I think it's a work in progress. Because we because we feel as though as as as we try to raise awareness on the legal side of attractions, creations, we feel like every we feel like all operations and understandings should be straight up.
00:01:34
Speaker
really Yeah, follow the straight and narrow. Follow the straight and narrow, you know, stay stay on the beaten path, you know. um the we want there to be no confusion, no inversion of yeah of any kind of, you know, um agreements between entities. We want to make sure that everyone knows exactly the lane they should stay in.
00:01:58
Speaker
um Everything is in order. Everything is in line. And we're basically going to correct things and straighten them out here. So here here at Kaffenberger Williams, we we will we we want to we want to provide as much um reassurance in our in our consultancy and communication with the viewers of this podcast and any potential viewers from the attractions industry, you know, industry industry-wide. that we're here for you.
00:02:31
Speaker
any any any Any sort of confusion you might have around how attractions are put together and how teams work together in unison with each other while staying respective respectively in their own lanes, we want to be able we want to be able to clear up any sort of confusion so everyone is on the same kind of on the same level of understanding.

Introducing New Co-hosts

00:02:51
Speaker
Yeah. We want to keep everything on track, if you will. um Keep everything focused. Yeah. I think y'all need to start thinking inverted, honestly.
00:03:03
Speaker
Allison, you're here? that was fun to watch, though. Y'all make this thing sound a lot smarter than it actually is. Mikhail did the heavy lifting. It's the accent.
00:03:15
Speaker
did Yeah, that that was helpful. It sounded very professional. See, this this is why we work this is why we work together. This is why we work well together. Yeah, exactly. You needed, you needed you know, a ah um a more eloquent speaker on here.
00:03:30
Speaker
not that Not that I know anything about who has been commandeering this domain, you know, before before we arrived, but... Right. you know So you don't listen to the podcast. Okay.
00:03:42
Speaker
Apparently not. Eloquent speech. yeah Eloquent speech is important. Indeed. Indeed. especially So, Allison, what's actually happening here? i don't really actually happening is that all these mystery co-hosts are revealed, even though I think most people knew who it was anyway.
00:03:59
Speaker
but No, those silhouettes did not give anything away. not even a little bit. To be fair, um ethan didn't our um i think Ethan figured it out when Laurel spoiled it, which we'll get to that. Oh, okay.
00:04:15
Speaker
yeah And ah Brambo. my Apologies about that. Brambo was just terrible at figuring out who it was. So. so Fair enough. yeah I thought my so silhouette looked exactly like me, but i yeah knew exactly the picture it came from and that it was me. So, yeah, I maybe had an unfair advantage there.
00:04:38
Speaker
But it's okay. Yeah, I guess the picture of Mikhail is from like a couple years ago. um Three years ago. Like 22, 23 maybe? Yeah. you took that i I had completely forgotten about that photo. You dug that up out of nowhere. I forgot i forgot i completely forgot that photo was taken. used my resources on my iPhone and found your face and said, see more photos of this person. Nice. And I'm like, ooh, we definitely hung out that day.
00:05:05
Speaker
Lovely. So... And mine was taken like two weeks ago by Allison front of Zandra. So mine was pretty recent.
00:05:17
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah, because you'd asked me to look for photos of me, so like i only I looked exclusive for like exclusively for photos of myself with no one else in them. And that's when I realized I really don't take photos of myself, like, like ever. oh Yeah, she told me something similar.
00:05:41
Speaker
And I was like, I noticed that Jen's was a selfie. i was like, oh, can I look for selfies? I think I have a lot more of those. She was like, yeah. And then I realized I don't have any of those either. so So. the good news is I like to take candid pictures with my friends.
00:05:56
Speaker
So I came prepared. My Instagram profile picture is candid by you. Otherwise, we would have been screwed. Yeah. Yeah. I'm like, Mikhail, take a picture of yourself. No, actually, I probably would have pulled it from, like, I have Emperor GoPro footage somewhere of you, Mikhail, so I probably would pulled it. Oh, no really?
00:06:14
Speaker
Yeah. How have I not seen it? Have I seen it? i I've used it in some stuff. Maybe haven't. It was in the um Straight Outta Stumbles video.
00:06:27
Speaker
least a clip of it. also while i i I might have seen it. i I don't even know where it is, honestly. So...
00:06:36
Speaker
Yes, I'm excited to welcome our two new co-hosts to the Inverted Creative Podcast. Hello. Happy to be here. Are you sure? Yeah, I'm absolutely sure. So so I know, you know, it's been me and Bryant and Jen for a while, and they are obviously still part of the podcast. um But we want to bring more content. And since I've gone weekly, I'm I've been needing more co-hosts because, um you know, b Brian's down to part-time with us and Jen is always in Europe.
00:07:12
Speaker
Jen's not American anymore. um So, yeah, i've wanted to bring on two of some of my favorite people in the world who are also both very creative and very good people yeah and love this industry and love contributing to this industry.

Co-host Backgrounds and Decisions

00:07:30
Speaker
Yes. Yes.
00:07:31
Speaker
heck yeah And thought y'all would be good additions to this podcast. Yeah, so um for anyone who doesn't recognize my voice, um I did used to be part of the the um the Chain Dogs podcast, which I shared with some good friends of mine back home in England.
00:07:51
Speaker
i We unfortunately um don't record that podcast anymore. just for you know there's there's There's nothing nothing crazy about behind it or anything. like A bunch of us just got really busy here. Like we couldn't couldn't really do it with any any kind of consistency anymore. um So it's been a little while since I had been podcasting um like regularly and it got to a point where I was just like, yo, I'm kind of just sick and tired of not podcasting anymore. like So I know this is something that Alison and I have talked about ah you know for a while about ah whether whether ah i would be like just guest appearance on Inverted Creative or you know like how how that would look like you know moving as as you move forward with the continuation of Inverted Creative. um So when and she asked me when she asked me if I wanted to be a co-host, I was like,
00:08:48
Speaker
Yeah. might Yeah, I'm down. It's pretty simple decision, really. I had plans to do really cute promposal style asks for you guys, and then I'm like, y'all are just already part of the podcast on here. There's no point.
00:09:07
Speaker
I... have never actually been a co-host or a host of any kind on a podcast before but i have been running a youtube channel for like oh my goodness eight years that seems not real but that's been your focus for a while that's wild yeah it's been my uh it's been the way i like focus on coasters for a while um think you got a youtube channel but i didn't know i didn't even go in that long my god Yeah, I know. I started in 2018, and i ah my very first video was that backyard coaster in southern Indiana that was like 10 minutes from my house, The Blue Flash. Oh, really? That was my very first video, and then I went back like a year later with so I had asked like John Mike and Taylor Bybee if they wanted to like go ride it, and then we ended up with like a group of like 12 people or something at this guy's house riding it.
00:10:05
Speaker
um but yeah uh that's kind of where i started and that's mainly vlogs i've been trying to do more creative ideas and other stuff but sometimes i just get busy and so it ends up being vlog after vlog after vlog which is fine people enjoy that i enjoy making them so um have you can have you considered doing a top 10 video i don't think that's ever been done before No, I don't know that this has ever been done. um I did, back in the day, do a top 25 one time, and I bet it would be interesting to see that now, because I made that in 2019.
00:10:40
Speaker
And that's the last time i probably watched that video. Oh, yeah. So the footage is probably going to be ugly, and the takes are not going to be the same as what I've got now. That could a Wicked Cyclone is in it, which means it's not accurate anymore. Sorry, Bryant.
00:10:56
Speaker
I don't like i can see a good video for you to do those rewatch that react. but react I actually thought about reacting to a couple of my videos from an old channel I had in high school because I made like two videos at holiday world, one at universal studios, like back from when I was like 14 to 16 year old. Those would be really cringe.
00:11:20
Speaker
It'd be fun to react to those at some point maybe, but yeah. Anyway, i watch my own videos sometimes just because it's fun to remember how the trip went.
00:11:32
Speaker
I do that with my music videos all the time. I definitely do that with the... Well, there's been one coaster music video I've made no one's... Well, you and I have seen it. but and I've been watching it every day. I have the links. and Everyone on the trip has seen it.
00:11:48
Speaker
Mikhail, I can show you later if you want to see I was going to say, I'm going to need the i'm going to need that link. It's from it's from Energy Landing. It's from our recent Poland trip. I just finished it like two days ago and it will be public at some point for everyone to see.
00:12:04
Speaker
But I'm holding off for a bit to... release it the cool but yeah i've been watching that one back a lot yeah i really enjoy that video i'm not even like it i'm not saying it's very good because of how good of a job i did i just mean it's very good because it's like all the footage that came together it just it's just really cool to see it works with the music very well it works with the music well and it look it's cool to see our trip like that yeah and i i i inspired you on that too

Podcast Listening Habits and Community Engagement

00:12:34
Speaker
Yeah. yeah um If you guys haven't seen Allison's from two years ago, when we went to Europa Park.
00:12:41
Speaker
She used the Knights by Avicii and it was awesome. And so I was inspired to use the Days by Avicii, which are the two two songs on that one album. There's only two songs.
00:12:52
Speaker
So it's like they're like counterparts kind of. It's really cool. I'm nerding out about it because I thought about all of this stuff while I was like brainstorming the music video. It's like, this is going to perfect. I storyboarded mine literally like seven months in advance in my head.
00:13:06
Speaker
Yeah. I didn't have that much of a headstart, but I was doing it for at least a month prior. So it came out really well. I would love to hear a music video um with ah I Could Be The One by Avicii playing in the background.
00:13:25
Speaker
that would be That would be super cool. Honestly, any Avicii song? Yeah. um what I was trying to think. There's another Avicii song that randomly came out on Spotify the other day. I'm like, wow, that's another one that could be a great music video. I can't remember which song it was.
00:13:40
Speaker
I just have an attachment to that song just because when I was in when i was in college, I the the group that i i went with a ah group of us to Spain ah kind of like on a university paid trip. And we went to this club, this like really like big sort of like global kind of club called Pasha. And we were actually, we were dressed, there was like a group of like 10 to 12 of us. We were all dressed in banana suits. and of us
00:14:17
Speaker
And one of us was dressed in a monkey suit. and And the guy in the monkey suit was chasing us all around the club. as in chasing the bananas all around the club. And one memory I have of that is literally running around the club while that song by Avicii, I Could Be The One, was playing.
00:14:37
Speaker
That's phenomenal. Oh my goodness. It was it was incredible. Yeah, that sounds awesome. I've had a weird attachment to that song ever since.
00:14:48
Speaker
I would too. I don't blame you. That's awesome. Yeah.
00:14:55
Speaker
know ah Nate just recently started listening to the podcast and then binge listened to every single episode and now critiques me at 6.05 every Monday morning. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Very early in the morning. Background. I was on this episode or I was on this show podcast that three times.
00:15:22
Speaker
Oh, actually, that's one of the questions that somebody had. What was it? SolarCoaster said, have our get have our new co-hosts been guests on the show before? alger Well, I was on the Europa Park recap because brian didn't want Bryant didn't want to be a spoiled for Europa, so I did that one.
00:15:41
Speaker
And then I came on with my somewhat of expertise with my brother on the... The accessibility, one of the episodes of that. Was it the second one or the first episode? I think it was the second one.
00:15:54
Speaker
Okay. Because ah there were three total of that one. Yeah. um And then i was on the Kings Island deep dive, which is funny. I joked with Allison that like John Mike was on the holiday world deep dive and I was on the Kings Island deep dive and we definitely could have flip flop that. Yeah. it was It was just timing. We had just been in Kings Island like that weekend too.
00:16:15
Speaker
Yeah. And then the drive to Cedar Point after wedding is the most recent one, I think. No, the RCDB game. Oh, and the RCDB game was staff trip yeah after. Yeah. And then the RCDB game was... This is my sixth one.
00:16:30
Speaker
I have that one saved on my Spotify. That was funny as hell. i hell of to end The RCDB game? The RCDB game, yeah. Oh my god, we had so much fun with that. Oh, it was a lot of fun. That was a fun listen.
00:16:42
Speaker
So I've i've almost... I mean, I've been on here a lot already. But then yeah as far as listening goes, after my like third episode, i was getting harassed for not having listened to it.
00:16:53
Speaker
I've literally never been a podcast listener in my life. I like ever listened to any of them. So i was like, you know what? That's fine. So I used to work at a place at like this 20 minute drive. So I just start playing them on my way to and back from work.
00:17:05
Speaker
And I worked my way through literally up. to got through all of them and then I've got a new job now so what I do now is like when they drop on Monday I'll drive to work which is only like seven minutes but then I'll go into work and put my airpod in and listen to it while I'm working so but now it's only one a week do you listen to the drunk riders um I have started listening to the Drunk Riders because I got twelve those through. I'm not going to try to go back and listen to all those. I don't think. There's so many.
00:17:38
Speaker
But um or you don't have that kind of time in you in your in your daily schedule. ah Well, if I did it, if i sat there and did it all day at work, I'd probably get through two and a half episodes a day, maybe three, depending on how long they were.
00:17:53
Speaker
There's one guy who um who got through, was it? Was it Sudo, Alison? Who like got through all however many they however many episodes they have.
00:18:04
Speaker
I think it was like 200 plus at the time. Yeah, he ran some kind of script on it and got like pulled all the data from all the episodes. Yeah. Wow. He basically created a database and he can search like words and see who says what, how many times. And that that was that was that was crazy.
00:18:23
Speaker
I'll say that um I just ran out of inverted creative podcast episodes to listen to all the time, like on repeat or not repeat, but like in order. So I started listening to them and then thrills, chills and spills as well.
00:18:37
Speaker
Because I was like, well, now I kind of like podcasts. So let me welcome let me add the ones I'm friends with first. Start with them. and then yeah Well, now you can add Chain Dog's back library to your rotation. Yeah. If you drew if you if you feel so inclined.
00:18:56
Speaker
i try like Back when y'all did live recordings and I was able to like tune into those, i tried to join as often as I could. Yeah. I would like randomly pop in like an hour into the podcast and be like, hi, Mikhail.
00:19:10
Speaker
Yeah. And that would literally be the only thing you would say as well. I could be doing it every now and then. But I did not have much expertise on like UK parks as was typically the topic. So.
00:19:22
Speaker
Yeah, you and you and Marcus were regular wedding crushes, so to speak. like i And you would always just pop in to just say hi to me as well. He didn't even acknowledge the rest of the group. To be fair, you're the only one I knew.
00:19:39
Speaker
i have not spoken to any of the others. ah That was fun, though. I would like to have Sean on the podcast at some point if we can ever fit him in. If he can fit us into his schedule.
00:19:50
Speaker
I meant to message him about that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We will. Well, now we have an in. we will say Yeah. Yeah. I can provide the bridge. Yes. But yeah, no, all of the... um uh the only like well i think we got to like 120 something in fact i've got i've got it here yeah um yeah you can just look on spotify if this is if this is if this is right because like i ah i don't i don't know if there are any others that we did on youtube that we didn't put on spotify or have yet to who knows um but there's 125 episodes okay
00:20:24
Speaker
of okay quality English material for you to sift through that. Yeah. Hey, you know what's funny is the most recent episode posted on Spotify. It's been the RCTV.
00:20:41
Speaker
Random rollercoaster challenge. was just looking over here. Yeah, yeah i was I wasn't sure if Sean had taken down like any of them for whatever reason, but no, they're all still there, so.
00:20:54
Speaker
I still reference the podcast. Anytime anybody mentions like a chain dog on a coaster, I'm like, is that the chain dog's podcast?
00:21:03
Speaker
And how many times do you get people actually like understanding that reference? It's usually just Mike. I was going to say. Well, now I will.
00:21:14
Speaker
there you go no it was it was it was fun like it was definite it was definitely fun i enjoyed it and especially when we um because we like did some like small little rebrands like here and there and it was it was fun to it was so it was it was a fun thing to be a part of i i honestly wish we hadn't stopped doing it but like it just it just became unfeasible like after a while just because of people's lives people's jobs and stuff especially you living in vancouver it's like what a nine hour time difference or something yeah yeah i um
00:21:47
Speaker
eight oh with eight hour time difference like seven seven depending on like daylight savings and stuff firm but yeah like it it was it was like it big I think it it just it became a bit more logistically complicated than it was worth but like but during the time that we did it like it was It

Podcast Growth and Listener Recognition

00:22:06
Speaker
was super fun. And it was like it was it was fun to... um before Before I moved out to... For anyone who doesn't know, I i now live in Vancouver in Western Canada. um
00:22:18
Speaker
before but but Before I moved, we would like go to... um For anyone who happens to know ah your experience guide on YouTube, um formerly Pleasure Beach Experience. like they like They would hold events there and we would... and we would we would go to them because um myself, Luke, and Emma, like, we're all from we're all from Northern England. So, like, we were right there. Like, I was i was a two-hour drive away, max.
00:22:44
Speaker
um luke Luke and Emma are both from Manchester or, like, the greater Manchester area, so they were, like, an hour plus away. So, we like, we were we were there pretty much, um ah lot like, a lot of the time whenever there was events on that we could all that we could all, like, get to and stuff. We were all there. And then we would have, like...
00:23:01
Speaker
people come up to us like like listen like listeners and be like oh i really enjoy really enjoyed the chain dogs podcast and and it was like this is weird as hell but thank you
00:23:15
Speaker
those first few times we were just like this is this is surreal like people actually listen to the like nonsense we have to talk about i had that happen at um we when we um We were not part of Hollywood Nights, but we went to Holiday World the day of Hollywood Nights. So like, you know, full of enthusiasts. yeah um And I was introduced to somebody and I wasn't sure offhand who it was, but he just completely flipped out when he saw me. He's like, oh my God, I love your podcast. i'm like, thank you. You just made my life. i think I said that him too. You just made my whole life. Thank you Like having people that excited to see me was...
00:23:55
Speaker
Weird. It's so weird. That's odd. I've had people come up to me and be like, hey, are you poster focus? I'm like... We love it. Don't get me wrong. definitely very appreciate that. It is great. It is great. it's just But the first few times that happened to me, I was like, you know me? Like, what? Yeah. What do you mean you know somebody who has less than 5,000 subscribers? Now I've got 7,000. But like at the time, it was like, not that big of a channel.
00:24:22
Speaker
It's really not that big of a channel now, even. But... yeah i mean we're not even that big of a podcast but true it's a good one though working on it though it's quality it's the goal is to grow it yeah grow the sport we do it for the love of the game oh yeah
00:24:43
Speaker
but yeah that's a little bit of my podcasting podcasting backstory Wait, Mikhail, what episodes were you on? I think you've been on... He was on the bathroom episode. Yeah. yeah Wait, so is that three then?
00:24:59
Speaker
Because I was on the Phantasial and Deep Dive. Yeah, I know about that one. Brian still will not shut up about how long it was. Listen. We're stimulating circumstances.
00:25:13
Speaker
Um... Was I on a um one where you talked about Epic Universe? Or did we just... Epic Universe? Like, yeah. Or was that... No, we were talking about you we were talking about you guys doing a ah like a part two to that one. Yeah, yeah. Okay, yeah, so two.
00:25:32
Speaker
So the Phantasialand one and then... The April Fools' one. the one where i The one where I got ambushed in the bathrooms. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Let's not say it like that. No.
00:25:46
Speaker
No, that was our April Fool's one where um we wanted somebody to join us who could contribute and make it fun, but also do it without knowing what the topic was ahead of time. yeah That was so funny to listen to. That was hilarious.
00:26:03
Speaker
You're just like, what are we talking about? and I was just like, so that's why Mike's here. He's very knowledgeable.
00:26:19
Speaker
And then he dropped the knowledge. He was like ripping them off. He had lists. He had like rankings. It was crazy. oh i straight He dropped the knowledge like it was in the bathroom. Oh, yeah. Drop it like it's hot.
00:26:33
Speaker
ah Yeah, that was fun. that i I do actually like need to keep... I keep meaning to start a list of like what bathrooms are actually good. And I can add a Kentucky Kingdom to the not good list.
00:26:45
Speaker
Oh, yeah, that one was bad. I literally came out of the bathroom like, okay, found where Hershen needs to put their money. Was in that bathroom. Do you have the... I texted... Go on, go on. Go ahead. You're all right. Do you have the dueling urinals at People's Choice on there? Did John Mike and Mike tell you I'm sure we talked about that one.
00:27:07
Speaker
they're all They're like in the corner and they're like almost touching. It's no better in the girls' room, by the way. Okay, well, same with Kentucky Kingdom. It's no better than the guys' room. The one in Kentucky Kingdom that I experienced was a little different. but It was different than dueling urinals, yeah. Yeah, there was no dueling urinals, but like I had to like basically sit on the toilet just to get the door closed, and then half the stalls didn't lock. A stranger literally held by door closed.
00:27:34
Speaker
help us
00:27:37
Speaker
Hey, hey we we ah we appreciate teamwork. Yeah.
00:27:42
Speaker
z This is a collaborative industry. I am bringing awareness to the bathrooms here. Yeah.
00:27:56
Speaker
Hershen's doing a lot of good. Bathrooms is not one of them right now. Not yet.
00:28:03
Speaker
But people would have to listen to the Inverted Creative podcast talking about bathrooms to know that. Yeah. What were you saying, Mikhail, about texting Laurel? um uh what was it oh yeah yeah i i um i can't remember if i texted her before no it must have been after i didn't know i didn't know what we was talking about before um yeah texted her after the fact and she's like oh i have i have so many thoughts on this on this on this subject and i'm like Do we need to have Will Arwan for Bathroom Part 2? She just instantly went to Cedar Point bathrooms and stuff. I was just like, oh if I'd have known what we were going to talk about, I would have gotten your thoughts to siphon into the episode. We can we can revisit this topic at some point. With fresh perspectives yeah on bathrooms.
00:28:57
Speaker
oh Incredible.

Nate's Germany Trip and Coaster Experiences

00:29:02
Speaker
Well, Nate, I know you are just, you literally look like you're bursting at the seams to do your little trip recap. No, I'm not. It's fine. It's fine. You literally rehearsed it in your head before I even said you could do it. so I rehearsed it my head to make sure it wouldn't be too long.
00:29:18
Speaker
Okay. Because you were like, you don't need to do your whole Germany trip on here. I was like, well, what if I made it really short? All right. You said two minutes, right? let give me Give me two and a half. Give me two and a half. But yes, I said two minutes. Give me two and a half, though. All right, hold on. Let me set a timer. Okay.
00:29:36
Speaker
I think I can beat it. so Two minutes and 30 seconds is what we said? Yeah. ah So this is just for Germany or Poland? Yeah, I mean, it just... No, I'm not going to go over Poland. You guys had a whole episode about that.
00:29:50
Speaker
Oh, yeah. By the way, Nate was in Poland with us. i was I helped surprise them with Jaik. Yes. So, yeah. are Are you ready for me to start then? Yep. All right.
00:30:01
Speaker
Three, two, one. Okay. So I'm not getting into Poland because we did all that. But John, Mike, and I, since we had planned the surprise, had extended the trip into Germany afterwards. We flew into Frankfurt.
00:30:15
Speaker
We stayed the night near um Holiday Park or Plopsaland, Germany, as as it's called now. That was our first stop. Nice little park, 100% Wolf, new coaster. It was very fun, except the theming was great, except it's already got the Gerstlauer shuffle, so that's not great.
00:30:33
Speaker
Skyrocket 2 was fun, and you guys may or may not be sleeping on Exposition G-Force at this point. Some of the strongest airtime I've ever felt, and it's so it's like it's an older coaster like Millennium Force. so People don't talk about it as much anymore.
00:30:46
Speaker
It deserves a type. and We did a little butterfly coaster at an aviation, like, well, was actually all sorts of transportation museum. Got to go inside the 747. That was cool.
00:30:59
Speaker
Then we did Tripstrill. trip No, no, sorry. We did Europa Park with Jen, where we fulfilled the prophecy. Jen got me and John Mike beers, and Joey was there, on Josefina's, and we rode...
00:31:11
Speaker
um Basement Dineride with Jen and I delivered the gay cat to Jen. So prophecy fulfilled. Then we did Tripstrill, beautiful park, some fun coasters. Mammoot is awesome.
00:31:25
Speaker
And then we finished with Friesland Gieselwind, which sucks. Oh, and we also did Schwaben Park, which no longer has Wilde Hilde. That is going to Gieselwind and it's not open yet.
00:31:38
Speaker
Gieselwind sucks. And then we came back home and it was fun. That's my Germany recap. You still have 50 seconds. Well, Gieselwind also has Cobra, which is the little small interpark thing with like the really small Emmelman on it.
00:31:54
Speaker
um I can't really show a picture because it's a podcast, but just look it up. Cobra at Fraser Island Gieselwind. It's an interpark. It's one of those tiny traveling ones.
00:32:05
Speaker
One of the worst coasters I've ever ridden. And it's not even the inversion. The inversion is like the smoothest part of the ride. The drop and the like double helix at the end brutally beats you up. And they make you ride it twice in a row.
00:32:18
Speaker
Like they don't let you get off. They send it twice. It's, it was a torture device. It wasn't even so bad that it was good. It was just bad. And it made, it made, it made John Mike and I actually like angry that we didn't enjoy it. Even from a crappy perspective.
00:32:37
Speaker
i got to I got to say my piece on Cobra at Gisela. I wanted to ride one of those models. There was one in Milan originally. I wanted to experience how bad it was. Yes, that's what i wanted.
00:32:49
Speaker
i know. Turns out it was not worth it. i mean, it was worth the credit. Everything is, but it was painful. I want to experience it. I have to know how bad it is. Well, at least you'll know it's not so bad. It's good. It's just bad.
00:33:05
Speaker
It's okay. Mike and I are already talking about going back to Italy. so That's fair. Or you can go to Giselwind.
00:33:12
Speaker
I don't recommend it. I was going to say, you can go to Italy. You won't find it there. but but But you do you. I don't remember the name of the park that I think has one in Italy, but...
00:33:26
Speaker
Either way. Yeah, i I remembered which one you were talking about ah like halfway through with how far he through the venting section. Well, I brought up Wilde Hilda 2, which got it's being relocated, the chicken coaster.
00:33:41
Speaker
ah The, like, RES rides, like, um one, that one was at Schwaben. It had the really fun EDM song. And then it got relocated to Gieselwind, where it's fully built, it's just not fully installed, like,
00:33:55
Speaker
this the song that got played in primetime at Allison's wedding yes that one yeah it did yeah I danced hard to that one that was a lot of people did yeah all we all did there were just people randomly going around doing chickens I didn't realize what the song was at first and then it clicked I was like oh that's what that's why everyone's doing a chicken dance yeah oh it was great
00:34:26
Speaker
So that was my Germany part. Allison, are we doing Kentucky kingdom? yeah How's flying Fox? It's definitely green. It's definitely there next to lightning run.
00:34:39
Speaker
Um, for context, uh, it wasn't open when I went last weekend, I think what they did was open it for all the crowds coming for Hollywood nights and to meet their like goal of like May.
00:34:55
Speaker
It was like May 28th or May 26th or something like that that they were targeting. I think they opened it for that. It was not ready. um Like the ride was ready, but the the surroundings were not ready.
00:35:07
Speaker
And so. They left it open for like a week and then they were like, okay, we're going to close it finish it. Then we'll reopen it. Yeah. And I happened to bad timing. ah that's like That's exactly what it looks like from yeah everything everything that I saw. Like the station wasn't finished. None of the landscaping was finished. was like... Although this is my first time... I exactly see the play there.
00:35:31
Speaker
That was my first time at Kentucky Kingdom since like Discovery Meadow and Hershend and all that. So it it looks a lot better than it used to for me. um And then I will say i did get a credit that weekend. I went to the brand new Maui's indoor theme park in Owensboro, Kentucky and wrote an SBF visa spinner.
00:35:51
Speaker
So that one was fun, I guess. The place was cool. Ironically, I'll be in Owensboro tomorrow. Tomorrow. And you've already gone and ridden and I've already gotten the cred. So, yeah.
00:36:03
Speaker
So that's two times. out of my way for that Interesting. so Yeah. I didn't drive to the, for the first time, but and oh and we then I met Mike Allison and John Mike at Kentucky kingdom last weekend, but prior I had gone to golf the day before with my buddies in a central time zone, actually at Santa Claus, Indiana. I did not go to holiday world.
00:36:29
Speaker
Um, But I stayed the night with my friend in central time, woke up the morning was going about my day. And I was like texting them like, yeah, I'll be at Kentucky Kingdom at two 15.
00:36:40
Speaker
Mike calls me at what I thought was one 15. And I was like, he was like, you almost here. I'm like, no, I'm an hour away. He goes, you said two 15. I said, yeah, he goes, it's two 15 right now. I'm like, oh no, I got time zoned.
00:36:53
Speaker
ah I'll be there at three 15. it was blunder. it was a blunder But I had been on Central Time for like 24 hours at that point, and I forgot ah the time change. Once you get put in the time zone, there's no escape.
00:37:12
Speaker
yeah Yeah. John Mike was at Kentucky Kingdom before us, and he's like, guys, Flying Fox is closed. And he's like, haha, you stop joking now.
00:37:25
Speaker
Yeah, was like, you're you're not funny. you know We already pulled off this surprise from Mike and Allison. You don't have to lie to me now. He wasn't. He wasn't lying. It was closed. And they were fully working on the station,
00:37:40
Speaker
which wasn't complete. so But you got a return ticket out of it. Yeah, i did. And skipped a skip the line. Yeah. So double win there, I would say. um and then i went to a fair yesterday with mike that was my last trip recap i got two more credits i'm only eight away from a thousand sorry mikhail i cut you off no no no you're all but you're all good i was just gonna say ah have they announced ah i guess in essence a reopening date for it i don't think they want people to know what they're doing
00:38:12
Speaker
I think they're just like, oh, we'll reopen it as soon as we can. Because if they announce a reopening, then it's kind of obvious that, yeah, we just opened this because we had an influx of people this one weekend.
00:38:24
Speaker
Yeah. I think they'll just... I don't think that's anything to be ashamed of. I think it's a smart move on that part. I mean, it was it was a smart move, absolutely. But just, I would be transparent about it. but no It's okay. like I mean, I'm not too worried about it It's like a secondary home park. It's not that far away. We don't live far away. No, I can go get it anytime.
00:38:47
Speaker
And it's a Vekoma, so I trust it. It's pretty reliable.
00:38:52
Speaker
Fun fact that I learned at going to the fair yesterday, i have ridden 123 Vekomas. I had no idea I had that many. oh my god i've And about a fifth of them were probably in Energylandia.
00:39:07
Speaker
um i look look at all that stuff like every night i think i've done about like 70 plus or something yeah vecoma is by far my number one most ridden manufacturer have a look just random facts actually i feel like that's a good segue into some of our q and a's that we got from our dear listeners i would say so um Yeah, because i for my episode notes, I said there are no

Q&A Session with Listeners

00:39:37
Speaker
notes. It's a Q&A.
00:39:38
Speaker
ah But I did you know put up a ah you know our mystery co-hosts or whatever. Not so much of a mystery co-host on Instagram and had people submit questions for you guys.
00:39:52
Speaker
I had a lot of fun doing like a Super Smash Brothers style new challenger approaching was the vibe I was going for. Yeah, I love that, by the way. do you guys have mains in Smash Bros? Sorry, quick question.
00:40:06
Speaker
What is your main and in Smash Bros? Which Smash Bros? ah Which game? Like Ultimate or Brawl or Melee? Ike is my go-to. Ike? Oh, yeah, that's a good one. Mikhail, do you have one?
00:40:18
Speaker
i I do not. I'm the weirdo that didn't play Smash Bros too much. i My main in Ultimate is Korin, usually.
00:40:31
Speaker
I do play a lot of Ganondorf and I do play a lot of Little Mac, which is kind of a meme, but it's still fun to play a Little Mac on Ultimate. And then on Brawl, I main... Oh, I forgot his name.
00:40:45
Speaker
This is tragic. Never mind. The guy that's OP in Brawl, if you play Smash Bros. Brawl, you who I'm talking about. I'm having a blank moment. It's fine. I know I'm also very good with um Peach and Game & Watch.
00:41:00
Speaker
Oh my gosh. Gaming Watch is impressive. I was really good. Yeah. Gaming Watch is hard to master. Yeah. its But if you're good with him, you're really good with him.
00:41:10
Speaker
It's just good to like smack people in the head with a frying pan. I got it. It's Meta Knight. That's the Brawl character I'm good with. Well, everyone is because he's broken in that game. But yeah.
00:41:22
Speaker
Yeah. Ike was 100% my best character. That I really like playing with Ike and Morth. Honestly, any of those ah characters.
00:41:34
Speaker
The sword characters. Yeah.
00:41:38
Speaker
Anyway, sorry. Anyway. Not to interrupt. When posted that picture, literally like in my head, I'm singing like, choose your character. Yeah. and and and and and So choose your co-host.
00:41:51
Speaker
then we can do a battle royale. Anyway. ah
00:41:59
Speaker
Oh, okay. Right. i i was I was trying to figure out, I was trying to see from my list how many Vekomas I've written. And I do not want to disclose the number. Uh-oh. Does it start with a six? yeah Yes, yes it is. Oh, okay, yeah. Yeah.
00:42:23
Speaker
ah Anyway. anyway but So ah Chad, who is one of our um Patreon members too, which he submitted this not on Patreon, so he knows exactly who the guests were or who the co-hosts were before. Before that. yes yeah yeah We posted it early on Patreon.
00:42:44
Speaker
um But he said ah he wants to know y'all's cred count, home park, zero coaster, top 10, et cetera.
00:42:52
Speaker
really like the zero coaster question. Kyle, do you want to go first? What's your zero coasters? ah Yeah, I'll go. ah My credit count, since I'm literally looking at my list right now, ah is... oh Oh my god, what the hell? um Oh god, everything's mixed up.
00:43:11
Speaker
Please hold. Holding. at the moment. ah four hundred and sixtye at the moment Dangerous number. 468. Or at least the last two digits are.
00:43:27
Speaker
It's borderline dangerous was Conda last ah last September. Oh, good ride. Which I'm very about. Love Conda. Yes. Watch out for the lap bars.
00:43:40
Speaker
yes oh yeah you know what we're talking about yeah yeah they left on my thigh i was like i would i would watch them just spring up like as i'm in the air gates waiting go and i'm like okay that can't be good for the mechanism it's just like i'm just thinking what if someone's head is in the way you know that too and also just like i'm i'm thinking of just like wear and tear of the like hydraulics and then just like metal on metal just going boom yeah it can't be good over time into each other it's gotta be a programming error yeah i always found that funny but um yeah 468 uh i'm on i'm last year was a was a quote-unquote uh
00:44:27
Speaker
cred injection for me. I had been sitting on... So ah my 300 was Velocicoaster, which is my current number one coaster, back in 2021. And it had gotten to like just before 2025, was just like, I need a cred injection here. I've been in the 300s for literally like coming up on four years. So I got up to 468 last year. ah My home park at the moment is... I guess it...
00:44:55
Speaker
PNE Playland um Playland Park owned by the Pacific National Exhibition up in uh Vancouver um which I have developed like a really strong affinity for coaster the classic wooden coaster here now um That thing's so good. really I really enjoyed it. I really and i really enjoy it. um Anyone that um you know is thinking about coming up to coming up to get that cred, ah feel free to hit me up. I'll come join you. um
00:45:29
Speaker
hi i am go write it yeah there you go because i dont yeah early early september hopefully a few of my friends are or have like hit me and been like we're thinking of thinking of doing i'm just like yeah just let me know i live a 20 minute drive away um thunderbolt is there is good is good as well that's that's good fun it's not not not really much like mind-blowing about it but it's a it's a fun little launch coaster ah My Zero Coaster... So I have... i i like to I like to say I have two.
00:46:01
Speaker
One of them being Nemesis or at Alton Towers. is It's um the one that I always was either terrified of...
00:46:14
Speaker
well Well, both terrified of and fascinated by like growing up um growing up in in in in Northern England. um And when I eventually got on it, just like the obsession just started like just and and has been ongoing ever ever since. um The other one is The Incredible Hulk at Islands of Adventure because that was that was the coaster that that Like, like I rode that and it cemented to me, oh, I want, I want roller coasters to be a part of my life for the rest of my life. Like, like that, that, was that was, that was the one okay where I like pretty much for the most part stopped ever having like the feeling of being actually scared to get on a ride.
00:47:01
Speaker
after ah After I, after I rode Hulk, I never had that feeling again. And I was 11 at the time when I rode it. No way. Yeah. um Yeah, that was it was back in 2003 when I rode it for the first time. So I so i have ridden the OG Hulk and the revamped Hulk in 2015 or 2016. 16 is when it opened. 2016, yeah. Don't worry, I have a specific reason for knowing that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I knew it was one of those because i visited the year after opened.
00:47:35
Speaker
I visited seventeen in 2015 after not being able to ride it in 2006 and waiting that long to get back on it. And being rebuilt. Right, yeah. I had no idea. I wasn't really an enthusiast yet. I had no idea. So I get there and I'm like, yeah, ready to ride. Coming in 2016. What? ah ah i wrotede I rode both sides of I'll take Yeah, so, ah okay, so to that point, so I've, I've, I've rode Dueling Dragons and I rode, rode Dueling Dragons. um
00:48:13
Speaker
Like I said, I went i went back to Islands in 2017 after having not been since 2008, think. So, so the first time I went was went back in and then it had been almost years before I went back in The day I go to Islands of Adventure in 2017 was the day after Dragon Challenge closed.
00:48:40
Speaker
Oh. um So I never got to... I rode Dueling Dragons as Dueling Dragons when it dueled, but I never rode it as Dragon Challenge...
00:48:52
Speaker
um because i i like it closed it closed to be you know eventually taken out and scrapped the day before I got back there.
00:49:05
Speaker
Oh no. So at least I got the cred yeah and like in it's in its best form, but still, it was like i i would ah I would have liked to have gotten back on it, but not well. um yeah so zero coaster uh nemesis and incredible hulk and honestly at this point velocicoaster 2 um for being real and honest with ourselves uh my top 10 do you want me to go through top 10 now or do you want to save that until like um nate can do the other questions and then y'all yeah do top 10s okay okay
00:49:42
Speaker
Well, um, cred count. What's that? I said whale. Whale. Cred count. Um, I am currently working towards quite...
00:49:54
Speaker
The big milestone, I would say. Quite a little milestone, aren't you? um I currently, as of yesterday when I went to the fair and rode two more coasters, um I currently sit at 992 as we record this. ah you i was born nineteen ninety not nineteen ninety two yeah say wow butyyle You're you're getting up there, man. old. years old yeah um But I'm at 992 at the moment.
00:50:29
Speaker
um I have plans to go to um Southern California next month in July. um I've been there before, but I got spited really badly by both Magic Mountain and Knott's Berry Farm when I was there. The only time I've been to Southern California.
00:50:48
Speaker
And i must mention, Journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld, San Diego. It was it was close to... That's an inside joke. If y'all don't know. If you know, you know. If you don't, that's okay.
00:50:59
Speaker
um i feel like anyway like I feel like Allison's explained that one to me, but can't really remember. I accidentally said it like three times in a row in a group chat because I was doing something else while texting, and now they all make fun of me for Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's pretty much it.
00:51:13
Speaker
I accidentally said it three times. i didn't mean to. Anytime Jarny's Atlantis is mentioned or San Diego is mentioned, we're like, oh, hey. Yeah. I don't think Nate got to ride that one. Yeah. We're like, what? Really?
00:51:27
Speaker
so Really? Mikhail, he missed his chance. He missed his chance.
00:51:39
Speaker
You're not going to get that one. Does he know about that one? I agree i don't know about that one. explain it Ironically, you would have refer to Johnny Taranis and SeaWorld San Diego to understand that. Wow.
00:51:51
Speaker
That's funny, actually, that lines up like that. it would have had to have been on that trip. That's where the matches were started. Indeed. Indeed. you can Wait a minute, when was that trip again? can You can see those from Emperor as well. When was that trip again? 2023, I think it was. February? yeah Yeah. That was a month after I was there. Yeah.
00:52:11
Speaker
No way! A month. Oh my god. Yeah. So, anyway, um i at Magic Mountain, I missed a lot. I missed um Goliath, Riddlers, West Coast Racers, Viper, and most notably, X2.
00:52:30
Speaker
So, i've never ridden one of those 4D coasters. I've never ridden Eugenica, Dinaconda, X2. So X2 is my plan to be my thousandth coaster yeah next month.
00:52:43
Speaker
um And I've got a fallback plan because I try to make different manufacturers for each milestone, at least through thousand. After that, I might not do it anymore, but I've never done an arrow.
00:52:55
Speaker
So there's two of those. I've never done a G of Anola. There's one of those. And I've never done a premier. So if X2 fails, I got Viper. If Viper fails, I've got Goliath. If Goliath fails, I got West Coast Racers.
00:53:05
Speaker
I was going to say, this probably an unproal unpopular opinion on my part, but like if you were to make Viper your thousandth, that that like that i would I would have massive respect for you for that i would I would not be disappointed at all, because I had a hyperfixation with Shockwave at Great America before I realized it was removed, and I never got to write it. so um Anyway, all that to say, I'm working. I've got a few plans for an extra couple to sprinkle in. So I go to the California at like hopefully it's around nine ninety seven, nine ninety eight and hit a thousand there fairly easily. Nice. um Home park ah my whole life, my entire life has been holiday world. But I just recently moved and now I live approximately 10 minutes from Kings Island.
00:53:56
Speaker
So my current home park is Kings Island. My true home park is holiday world. um Love holiday world. Love Kings Island. It was weird last week to just go to Kings Island after work without thinking about it.
00:54:10
Speaker
That was crazy. Yeah.
00:54:14
Speaker
Uh, zero coaster. Have you moved just recently? Oh yeah. I moved in March. Oh, okay. Well, I've only been here like three months. Oh, fair enough. but Um, so, and then Kings Island didn't open until mid April. And I was also busy through a lot of those weeks. So haven't had a lot of opportunity to just go there after work a lot yet.
00:54:32
Speaker
No, but, um, I'm sure I will continue to do that. ah Zero coaster. This one's kind of tough. um I think I've got, I definitely know I have a zero ride. I know my favorite ride I've ever gotten a coaster ever.
00:54:49
Speaker
um And that occurred in 2023 on Ride to Happiness, which at the time was my number one. We'll get to top tens later. Yeah.
00:55:04
Speaker
It was the back row. It was my tenth out of 13 that day. And it was just my friend Justin and I in the back and no one was on the seventh row, the row right behind us. And we just... Oh, yeah yeah. It was warmed up and it hit every element at the right point. yeah And we hit that second launch where we just start we just start spinning, like yeah spinning faster. It was going so fast, it was pulling my legs and arms straight out.
00:55:32
Speaker
And then we go through that like... barrel roll into like the dive loop yeah oh my gosh my I was just wrapped around the restraint my butt and my back were not in the seat at all I was just sitting there like getting flopped around and that's like my favorite feeling on a coaster and then those last two hills into the brake run best ride I've ever had on any coaster at any moment ever like that single ride was the best yeah but that ironically enough Ironically enough, my zero coaster has been time traveler in the past. So I've got a thing for mock extreme spinners. It's just like I have the most fun on time traveler. I love the theme. I love the setting. i love Silver Dollar City.
00:56:16
Speaker
So it's just kind of in my zero because I just love it so much. um in the tick tock out front of the of the ride i could sit there and listen to that literally all day i i i love that like i feel i feel like this is one of those like they could have so easily not made made the the the statue be able to like yeah have that sound articulate yeah no one would have given it noise no one would have ever given it a second thought Yeah, but not but they did, and it's phenomenal. yeah i just I need more rides to do stuff like that. yeah um
00:56:51
Speaker
It's not... you know Time Traveler... I do have my list pulled up. It is actually my 25th overall still. I love Time Traveler, but it's my zero. like andwhile it's As much as you know Voyage and Hulk and Stormrunner have meant to me, um Time Traveler has got to be my zero.
00:57:11
Speaker
Um, funny that Mikhail mentioned he rode Hulk and it broke his fear of coasters. Is that what you said? You were never scared of a coaster after that? Um, arm when you were like 11 yeah, a yeah, yeah, yeah. No, so yeah, yeah. yeah very That happened to me on Storm Runner when I was 11.
00:57:33
Speaker
I was scared to get on it, and I finally so sat down on it. There's a video of me like closing my eyes and hanging on really tight, my dad laughing at me. And then it takes off on the launch, and from that point forward, I was like,
00:57:45
Speaker
No fear on any coaster. That's awesome. After that. I i love Stormrunner. know obviously like um people rave about Skyrush. People rave about Wildcats Revenge and stuff. Spiritually, Stormrunner might be my favorite coaster in park.
00:58:01
Speaker
just like And I, yeah, no judgment at all. It's a very important coaster to me. ah Great Bear was the first one I rode there, but I wasn't, you know, unafraid of every coaster yet.
00:58:12
Speaker
Yeah. That broke the rest of it. Like, that was it. That was the moment. and So i don't know if I don't know if I've mentioned it to you yet. I actually had, like, i like i've what I worked at Hershey Park on two separate occasions just throughout summer while I was while i was in university. And um the second summer, I got promoted to ah ride lead.
00:58:37
Speaker
arm And I was in the area that that included um primarily Stormrunner, Fahrenheit, and... um what's the What's the boomerang? Sidewinder is what the boomerang was called. Sidewinder the time. Yeah. Yeah. And um so only so ride leads were only on those three coasters. And side one is so this was in 2016 when Sidewinder was getting fitted with and with a new brake system. So it was down for like half of the summer. So
00:59:12
Speaker
All of my shifts were basically just going back and forth between Stormrunner and Fahrenheit. I lost count of the amount of time. Stormrunner is my baby in the park.
00:59:24
Speaker
Because I was there the whole like pretty much the whole summer. It was awesome. Yeah. And to me, Stormrunner is just the most monumental. like The most important. yeah For sure. I went in 2011, so like I didn't come back ah for another 10 years to ride Skyrush.
00:59:41
Speaker
Which love. I love Skyrush. But I didn't ride Skyrush until 2020. Wow.
00:59:48
Speaker
Skyrush was always... Skyrush is always funny to me because... um So when I was... but So I had i had like a a semblance of an idea of like the the coasters that were at Hershey Park when I was you know going through the process of you know applying for a a summer job there. um So and I knew about Stormwind, I knew about Fahrenheit, I knew about Great Bear, ah knew about Lightning Racer and Wildcat and and like all the rest of it.
01:00:18
Speaker
I didn't know too much about Skyrush, though. I hadn't really seen much of it at all. And ah don't ask me why I thought this. I really can't speak to like the train of thought that led me to think this about Skyrush.
01:00:33
Speaker
I thought it was a family coaster at first. Yeah. Well, they had Cocoa Cruiser painted the same colors for a while. ah So, I'm like, I go in with that in my mind.
01:00:49
Speaker
And I remember vividly now, like, the first time, this was back when Hershey Park had, like, its cute little German, you know, German village at the front of its entrance and everything. So I remember walking through there and walking up towards, um,
01:01:02
Speaker
the the carousel like at the front of the park and everything and just seeing this big yellow coaster contraption behind it i'm like hold on is that sky yeah i was like oh that that might be a little more than a family coaster definitely not ah so Oh, that was funny.
01:01:29
Speaker
we um we we So the first coaster we rode of like that first instance of actually experiencing the park was Comet. And then right after that was Skyrush. And I was like... Well, that's a step up. A little bit. A bit more than a family coaster then, ain't it?
01:01:49
Speaker
yeah just Just a tad. Just a tad bit of a car crash in the back last way. Yeah. Or the right wing, actually. Either wing seat. Either.
01:02:01
Speaker
like One of the few roller coasters to genuinely scare the crap out of me. Indeed. The first ride. There's not many of those for me. oh That was a time. That was that was indeed a time.
01:02:14
Speaker
Are we doing top ten now? Since we both answered? Yeah. Okay. This isn't the name of file. I'm starting. Yeah, this is the Nate and Mikhail episode. Incorporated.
01:02:26
Speaker
Yeah. yeah um The Kaffenberger Williams Incorporated. K&W limit. K&W legal. yeah um So legally, that means ah we're both correct with our top tens.
01:02:39
Speaker
Indeed. and if do you want Do you want to yeah go like back and forth on our like numbers, or do you just want to read? Yeah, okay. so um Okay, so given what you just said about Ride to Happiness, you may you might be happy that it's included in mine at all, or you might be unhappy at its placement. I have Ride to Happiness as my number 10.
01:03:05
Speaker
that's ah i I'm not going to judge you on that. like okay It is a top that's fair. like yeah Fair ranking against and some others. Yeah. that's yeah yeah um mine um I just realized I opened it. My top 10 has changed a bit recently. It's had three editions in the last month.
01:03:28
Speaker
that you tripp So my number 10 is not one of those new editions, but it's one that's dropped a little bit. My number 10 is Taron at Fantasia Land. Oh, okay. I love that ride. It's so good.
01:03:44
Speaker
Yes, Allison loves Taryn. You know how I feel about it. And we and we know how you feel about it. Yeah, yeah. I feel like me and Mikhail have very similar we do lists. We do. Our um our top tens very much resonate with each other, I think. Should I should i throw my top ten in just for fun to use? I haven't really like done much to it. I don't think anything changed.
01:04:13
Speaker
Definitely nothing in Italy changed it. yeah what do you What do you mean the 16 Wacky Worms 0 didn't change it? think we counted six Wacky Worms, actually. I was just exaggerating. You added two more in Poland.
01:04:28
Speaker
I think that was including the ones in Poland. We went through and counted total Wacky Worms on the ground. What do you mean, Mirabilandia didn't add anything? Oh, it did for Mike. I think he ranked eye speed fairly high. Allison, I got four Wacky Worms on that trip, and I didn't even go to Italy.
01:04:45
Speaker
There were plenty in Italy. Anyway, my number 10 is Tyga. Yeah, valid. Very. love that. Tyga fell out of my top 10. It has been very narrowly outside my top 10 ever since I wrote it.
01:05:00
Speaker
Also worth noting, Zadra is 11 for me. okay And that's my highest RMC. That's a surprise tool that'll help us later.
01:05:11
Speaker
Okay. Maybe it'll come up again. I'm sure. and I know it will. A couple of times. um So my number nine is Ion Gwazi.
01:05:23
Speaker
this This used to be in my top five, but... like, ah I mean, we all know how putrid Bush Gardens is being treated as a park right now. um Just like the the the the difficulty like you have to actually just get on that thing is just maddening at at this point. yeah yeah li there was there There have been literally times where we had we had been getting multiple rides on it at night when it's warmed up
01:06:01
Speaker
And being and ah friends of friends of mine and I have been do you know what? I'm good. like We had the opportunity to keep going with it like until park close. And we were just like, um I do not want to suffer through this line anymore.
01:06:18
Speaker
And through these horrible operations. I had a similar experience. um I actually went just so I could get Phoenix Rising when I was there in January. um And I rode...
01:06:31
Speaker
like Kumba was there and all that. And I go around to iron Gwazi and I realized that I have to pay for a locker and I just left. I said, no, I'm good. Yeah. Yeah. I, I, I know that it's in my top 15 and I know that how good it is, but man, I literally didn't want, I'm like, I'm not paying $4 to ride iron Gwazi. Exactly.
01:06:51
Speaker
Like it's, it is it is It's a monster of a coaster. Yeah, it is But just didn't want to. Yeah. its um So my number nine is is one of the new additions. This is Expedition G-Force.
01:07:09
Speaker
Nice. And I don't want to overhype it for people, but... I managed my expectations for it, but I still had pretty high expectations and it met, if not exceeded them.
01:07:20
Speaker
It's one of my favorite first drops in the world. it beats Konda's first drop, in my opinion. no well. um Incredibly strong airtime, like awesome ride. Phenomenal.
01:07:31
Speaker
And we got ride it 10 times because there was no line. Apparently that's rare. A lot of my friends who have ridden both do describe um G-Force as unrefined Konda.
01:07:43
Speaker
It is. That is exactly how I describe it. Yeah. Especially the first drop. You get this extra sense of like flipping back the other way yeah when you're on your way back down. Whereas Kanda is very calculated. It throws you to the side, yeah but you don't have that comeback. It all kind of just straightens out. like it it It doesn't feel like it overthrows you to the to the right like in that twist.
01:08:10
Speaker
Yes. It's still it's so very good. but And EGF does feel like it overthrows you and that brings it back. It's awesome.
01:08:19
Speaker
yeah i have i have ah i have ah I have a few friends who like really enjoy that like time period of basically unrefined Intamin.
01:08:32
Speaker
You know, i that that that early to mid-2000s design language from Intamin. like They champion that like time period of you know of those rides.
01:08:44
Speaker
I just wish EGF... EGF is what I wish Millennium Force was. I've heard that a lot. I love Millennium Force, but... you
01:08:58
Speaker
Allison? My number nine, um someone that we know wrote it the other day and would have some words about this, but my number nine is Helix. ah Shout out to Angela. who Angela, who hates me and also Helix. Yeah. yeah What'd she say? was the third best ride in that park.
01:09:19
Speaker
She did say that. Basically, I got a text at work and it and it was from Sean in in the group chat I have with Sean and Angela. And it said something like, Nate roast Angela. She doesn't like Helix. And I was like, excuse me, what? She's like, I like Helix, just not as much as Balder and Lisa Bergbonnen. And I'm like, I love Lisa Bergbonnen, okay?
01:09:42
Speaker
better than helix okay like oh my gosh so i kind of i made a meme on my instagram story i was like ah guys angela hates me and also helix so no i i love helix yeah me too
01:10:03
Speaker
I, unfortunately, somehow have not been to Lisaberg yet. Please go. You gotta go. i need I need to. I need to really bad. That place looks like everything that Blackpool... Everything that English enthusiasts want Blackpool Pleasure Beach to look like.
01:10:28
Speaker
I hate to say it because I really do like Blackpool. It's not close. yeah yeah I was not particularly fond of Blackpool. So it's very not close.
01:10:43
Speaker
No, I respect it. Is it me? um yeah Number eight. Yeah, number eight. I'm trying to think if this was my most recent addition to the top ten. I think it was. i think I think it is. My number eight is Air Force 1.
01:10:58
Speaker
Okay, yeah. So I rode this last July, i think it was, um and we kind of got, ah my friend Jack and I, we kind of got a little bit unlucky. I mean, like, he...
01:11:12
Speaker
lived down there. so like he like he's he's got He's gotten that ride at the peak of its peak before. Plenty times. We got a bit unlucky on my visit with the weather. um it had been really what It had been really warm and then it thunderstormed for like...
01:11:30
Speaker
an hour and a half um right before we got to the park so the so the ride had been closed for an hour and a half and then when they opened it up it had gotten really cold again it had gotten warmed up and then gotten cold again so um my first few rides on it um just didn't like they were that were definitely good there was it's It was still very good, but it wasn't like, you know, like the what the what the hell, like rip your face off kind of ride that like people describe it as.
01:12:00
Speaker
Yeah. um But by the by the end of the night, because the place closed at 10 still, um by the end of the night, it was approaching that. I don't think it quite got there still. i think I need to go back for some more rides on it.
01:12:13
Speaker
Although um it has been has been ah higher higher in my in my top 10 before. But it didn't quite... i think that I think there's a notch there can that it can get to on future visits.
01:12:31
Speaker
Alright. Well, I have next on my list at number 8... The third Intamin in a row for me. What is now Pantherian, it's I-305. Just because like it's just so intense, and that's what I love out of coasters. And it's the only coaster that's ever made me black out.
01:12:54
Speaker
Kind of on purpose. I did hold my breath. Well, that just sounds like a new problem then. I was trying to black out. It's cheating. Like, what you mean? I was trying to black out, but I gray out every time I ride it.
01:13:07
Speaker
so I love it. It's good. Yeah, it's the it's the only ride that's made me knowingly gray out. I'm just sad it's dropped so far for me. But it's number eight still.
01:13:22
Speaker
Eventually, I'll get on it as Pantharian. Yeah, same. ah In the trend of Intamin, my number eight is Hyperion. Great ride. Phenomenal.
01:13:37
Speaker
Also, the goggle ride was fun. Yeah, I love how quickly that changed your opinion of that ride. I just loved it. I loved the goggles in the front room The cackles were wonderful to hear.
01:13:50
Speaker
When did they introduce that? Because that was not a thing when I rode it. but i think I thought it was during COVID.
01:13:58
Speaker
Okay. Wait. No, I went in 2021. yeah and they want' do And they weren't doing it then.
01:14:09
Speaker
Because i like like my like my memory of Hyperion is a is a a drizzly front row ride um at night. Where I, like, off my first ride, I had i had been like, oh, that's top 15 easy.
01:14:24
Speaker
Top 15. um And then after that ride, I was like, oh, might it might be a little higher than that. Thing's incredible. I do love Hyperion a lot.
01:14:37
Speaker
Okay, um well, I mean, since we're on a little intimate run, i might as well i might as well keep that going. yeah My number seven Tarun. Oh, yeah. Okay.
01:14:49
Speaker
Taron, my beloved. little higher than mine, but fair enough. I did have Taron at seven at one point. Taron will be winching again. Don't worry. Actually, ah it was at seven before the last trip where added three.
01:15:01
Speaker
Yeah. Speaking of my seven, I'm going to have to pause the Intamin train for a second. It'll come back for me. Don't worry. um My number seven is Zadra, my number one RMC.
01:15:13
Speaker
Nice. Yeah. I have Air Force my third. I was going to say that a second ago. I'm personally not a fan of Air Force. I've got Zadra, then Iron Gwazi, then Air Force, then Wildcats Revenge.
01:15:24
Speaker
And I don't know after that, but those are my top four RMCs.
01:15:30
Speaker
I have to look. I still got two more to go. I still got two more to go. I will continue the non-intamin train.
01:15:43
Speaker
Okay. um My number seven is Fury. Oh, great one. It was my number one at one point, and then I've ridden a lot more since then. That one was never my number one, but it has been in my top ten in the past. It has since fallen now.
01:15:57
Speaker
It was my number one for a year, roughly. And then I rode Lightning Rod in what I considered to be its second best condition in 2019.
01:16:10
Speaker
and That's when I rode it. Yeah, and that changed everything that changed everything for me.
01:16:18
Speaker
Okay, my number six is Top Thrill 2. yeah I love that thing dearly. it is my favorite coaster at Cedar Point. The spiral drop in the back row is my singular favorite coaster moment in the entire park. And if you disagree, you're wrong.
01:16:36
Speaker
I have a fond memory of us writing that together and you smacking my face. and and Yeah, i was going to say, i I'm sure your nose has a fond memory of it as well. <unk> Got a little smack to the face on that descent there.
01:16:54
Speaker
I guess I may be wrong. yeah I love top throw too, but it's just something about the short rides that I don't know. just don't ever rank them high.
01:17:05
Speaker
Yeah. Great ride. I agree with everything you said about it, but, um, so my number six is, uh, could be controversial here. The best coaster at a park called energy landia Hyperion. We're back on Intamin baby. Oh, man.
01:17:24
Speaker
oh um I have Hyperion over Zadra coming at I don't care. They're backto back to back in my rankings, but it is what it is.
01:17:34
Speaker
i disgusting As I said in front of Hyperion, Intamin for the Wintamin.
01:17:41
Speaker
Why have I never heard that before? don't
01:17:46
Speaker
I feel like I've said it before that, but I definitely said it two weeks ago or when I was standing in front of on that clip. Yeah. I feel like that's something that I should have heard a million times by now.
01:17:59
Speaker
Oh gosh, I still have a lot of Intamin on my list.

Roller Coaster Experiences and Rankings

01:18:01
Speaker
um My number six is Skyrush. I do see it falling more, honestly, because like just the new restraints are have kind of killed the fun for me.
01:18:13
Speaker
I'm not excited to rewrite it. I've gotten one ride with the new restraints and I'm like, it's still good. But man, it lost its bite. I'm so curious about this. I'm like, how? like what Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. How? I i think a lot of it is the like the older restraints kind of sat lower on your thigh, so there was a lot more freedom of movement right there.
01:18:34
Speaker
And that's why when I rode it the first time, I thought I was going to get thrown out legitimately. um And now their restraints sit you know more closer to like do Do they just sit the same as you know on on any Intimate Mully launch? Yeah.
01:18:51
Speaker
But it was enough where I did not feel that impending sense of doom on the first drop. It's a lot more comfortable because it doesn't crush you as much. Nah. Didn't bother me anyway. it Used to be my number one.
01:19:06
Speaker
Yeah, honestly, i'd and I never really had a problem with the pastor with the previous restraints. I did definitely feel them like you know just squash my thighs a little bit but ah ah it wasn't it wasn't to a painful yeah like level i had a few rides where it got painful but it was still great i had it ranked higher with those restraints so okay so my where are we top five oh yeah um um okay my number five is the voyage no way
01:19:42
Speaker
My number five is The Voyage. My number five is not The Voyage. Oh, man. That would have been crazy. That would have been awesome.
01:19:53
Speaker
Voyage is so close to my heart. It keeps going back up. It'll drop, and then it'll keep going back up. I just love it. like i this It was my third ever roller coaster.
01:20:04
Speaker
Like, my third credit was Voyage. um My first was Raven, then Legend, then Voyage. um Started off real hot. Wait, what look like the the third roller coaster you ever rode?
01:20:18
Speaker
or just Correct. The third coaster I ever rode. There is questionably maybe a GoGator out there that I don't know about. So Voyage is either the third or fourth, but officially in my credit list, it is the third coaster I ever rode.
01:20:34
Speaker
what Raven was the first. And Legend was the second. Must have been a nice life. I worked my way up that day. That fateful day in Voyage's opening year of 2006. What must that have been like? Was there any kind of like, scared to get on it? Any kind of nerves? My dad was like, oh, we got to ride in the back. It whips you over the hill. I'm like, nope, dead center. I wanted the middle of the train. I didn't want to be in the front or the back.
01:21:04
Speaker
So like for the first two years of riding all three of those, I only sat in the middle. I think at Raven, I ventured to the front and then Voyage. I, before I ever went back, I didn't do the front row. Cause you felt like you were like hanging over the front. Okay.
01:21:19
Speaker
Yeah. so there was hesitation, but I did it. Wow. And then the launches scared me. And so storm runner later broke the launch fear. Nice.
01:21:31
Speaker
What did you say? Uh, number five was Allison. um I didn't yet. know I just said Not Voyage. Say it. I've never ridden Not Voyage. Oh, Conda. i yeah Conda's really good. yeah I can't blame you for that that that. That is indeed Not Voyage. Very much Not Voyage. Very much not.
01:21:54
Speaker
Oh, I missed that ride, though. It left some hardcore bruises on me for that trip. Condor's awesome. it it might It might be like slightly more refined Expedition GeForce, but man, it's still a powerhouse.
01:22:08
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Someone who has not been on Expedition GeForce. I can't compare it to that yet. so um I will say that description is 100% accurate. so
01:22:19
Speaker
i even I even liked the like non-inverting Cobra thing that it does. A lot which yeah a lot of friends have told me that like it's ah it's a dead spot. and ah I guess like if you're if you're looking at how the rest of the ride paces, it kind of is. but I brought some good rides on it where like it it was just enjoyable to just float like through the transitions on there.
01:22:40
Speaker
like It threw me back and forth a couple of times. yeah My first visit there, I rode it 17 times that day geez oh my i got very lucky with crowds so i got a lot of various rides on it and that's a great way to turn around the coaster i think yeah for sure it's very very very good um okay my number four is hu you might You might like this being a being a fan of Silver Dollar City.
01:23:13
Speaker
um My favorite wooden coaster, which is not The Voyage. Oh my goodness. No, hold on. i'm like I'm here for it, though. My number four is Outlaw Run.
01:23:26
Speaker
Whoa. Whoa. i wouldn' It was more so that like the RMC over the other RMCs than it was Outlaw Runover Voyage, actually, for me. was kind of shocked. That that too.
01:23:38
Speaker
That is a valid take, honestly. It's a hot take in general, but like... i did ah Yeah, yeah, I can see. With how much adoration the voyage gets, I can i can see how it's it could be a hot day for some people.
01:23:53
Speaker
um But no, dude, like the ah I have had i've had ah kind of sentimental affinity to Outlaw Run since it opened, just in the sense of... So, okay, so i Like i said, I grew up in Leeds in the north of England. My home park for a lot of years was technically Lightwater Valley.
01:24:17
Speaker
like I liked to call it Flamingo Land because Lightwater Valley is dire as a park. But it was by technical geographical location, it was Lightwater Valley. So I grew up with the ultimate that just um once it come off the ah the the second ah lift hill and drop, just did a ah bunch of windy stuff in the um in the woods. So as much as I...
01:24:48
Speaker
kind of became desensitized to the ultimate. I've always had an affinity towards coasters, you know, just winding around in the woods and stuff. um And Outlaw Run just does that, for me at least, does that ah to like ah like with a bit more dynamicyn than Voyage does.
01:25:11
Speaker
And I love that about it. I get that wooden coaster like ferocity of Voyage, but doing like more daring elements and stuff.
01:25:22
Speaker
Oh, yeah. And the night ride on that thing is ha Oh, it's top tier. ah It's top tier. I went back in 2024 for a multi-day trip.
01:25:35
Speaker
got i I mean, a lost count of how many night rides I got on it. I prefer Outlaw Runs night rides to voyages. I do. It's very close for me. Yeah. is um I love that thing so dearly.
01:25:49
Speaker
and My number four, we've already talked about it, so we basically don't have Skyrush. My number four is Skyrush. It used to be number one, and the three above it have all been my number one since then. Skyrush. We know about Skyrush.
01:26:07
Speaker
We do know about Skyrush. um do need to speed things along a little bit quicker. Mike's trying. asked Mike when he wants to go to bed. and He said ah soon. I'm like, oh, we are not nearly done recording.
01:26:22
Speaker
But just we'll just zip through the top threes and they're probably all go to be fairly similar. Probably. yeah um Anyway, my number four, I said would come back up and it's Taryn.
01:26:35
Speaker
Yeah, there it is. Hell yeah. he yeah I know people think that I have it rated high, but I really don't care. I love it. It's a vibe. Oh, hell no. I have massive, massive respect for fur for that ranking. I wish I could put mine higher, honestly. yeah Like, seven feels too low for me.
01:26:54
Speaker
I just... I keep refusing to bring it lower. well so Yeah, I straight up keep finding ways to keep it in in my top ten. That's me with...
01:27:08
Speaker
Okay, so... um yeah Another one that's been that's been mentioned before. ah My number three is Fury325. Oh, good one. yeah um My number three, I think, might be both of your number one.
01:27:25
Speaker
It's Allison's number one. Velocicoaster. At a time, it was my number one as well. It is my number one Intamin. yeah At a time, so at one point, me, Brian, and Jen all had Velocicoaster as number one.
01:27:39
Speaker
And then Bryant saw the light. Yeah. I'm good there. And that's why it's part-time. i ah And this lighting is part-time, I guess. All right, Mikhail, you're getting bumped i'm third on the new intro.
01:28:03
Speaker
Oh, incredible. All right. My number three, Stardust Racers.
01:28:12
Speaker
ah it's Okay. want one like Yeah, I was just met with silence. It's not like I have green and yellow both ranked. It's as a package, Stardust Racers.
01:28:27
Speaker
I don't know. i don't know if um I have a hot take or if that's a hot take, but I... just that's the one coaster of all the ones that i think we've named that i'm just like i don't know yeah don' i don't care to be fair i know you don't have to care it's your ranking not mine i um as a i don't want to say as an experience because as a as a coaster it's very good i mean it's it's my i mean ranking both of them it's my 17 slash 18 like it's in my it's in my top 20. I do like it a lot. I enjoy the experience on there a whole lot.
01:29:06
Speaker
But I just i wish it wasn't quite as repetitive as I find it to be. but that's it But that's just me. That's her that's just that's just my personal... like when let's just talk That's just speaking to my personal preferences.
01:29:20
Speaker
if we want to get really into the weeds when there we do not have time for that. That'll come on the ah Epic Universe Deep Dive Part 2.
01:29:30
Speaker
um My number two, I guess we had to go back to Poland at least one more time, didn't we? For the right coaster, damn it! yeah My number two is Zadra.
01:29:44
Speaker
but My 1B is Zadra. My 1B, yes. My 1B is Zadra. Okay. Well... It was my number one coaster for all of three weeks before before I rode... i dont know I've already said it. Your next one. but yeah oppos the yeah um I mentioned this earlier that it was my number one when I mentioned my zero ride. It's Ride to Happiness and I ran out of Intimins. I got Mach now.
01:30:14
Speaker
Ride to happiness. just You already heard me talk about it. It's awesome. yeah yeah I don't have that ranked nearly high enough because the day we had it, like I have it at 14, but it was very cold and very windy the day we were there.
01:30:28
Speaker
so It was not running. No, I rode it in mid-summer. yeah If I ever go back there or when I ever go back there, it'll probably go up.
01:30:39
Speaker
I'm ah also not on the Intamin train for my number two. My number two is Voltron. o i not Not because I think it's not like elite or anything. i just keep I keep forgetting about that. right forget I keep forgetting that's the reason I need to go to Europa Park though. No, Europa Park is the reason you need to go to Europa Park. 100%. it's like for I went to it's gonna be it's gonna be like how outlaw run to silvervaal city was for me
01:31:12
Speaker
i went to i I went for Outlaw Run. I stayed for Silverdorce. Yeah, exactly. yeah It's definitely going to be that way for me, I think.
01:31:24
Speaker
and yeah i think we know I think we know your guys' They're V-lettered number ones.

Coffee Preferences and Humorous Anecdotes

01:31:34
Speaker
On three. one two, three.
01:31:42
Speaker
See, that's why I said Bryant saw the light. He understands that Voltron is the best. It's funny that you just said that about Alice's number two, and I'm like, well. yeah Yeah, especially after my rides that I just got recently. oh my goodness. It was hauling. I was wearing not winter clothes, so I was like had more room to It got better. Like it was already my number one, but it became more Yeah.
01:32:09
Speaker
yeah It became more the best. I'm, I'm very much looking forward to the day that I, that I ride that thing. Like just when it, when it opened and just seeing more of it and seeing people like what people had to say about it. And then just looking into the ride, like deeper and deeper. I was just like that.
01:32:29
Speaker
thing really does everything but
01:32:36
Speaker
well we made it through our top tens it took a ah little a little way longer than i think any of us planned but oh yeah well we can um kind of like almost lightning round we still have ah none of these questions are going to take super long no think so Um, some guy named Jake said, uh, what is your favorite go-to coffee drink?
01:32:59
Speaker
And I think I know why he asked this. And it is my recent obsession with seven brew.
01:33:07
Speaker
Alice, just for the record, especially if Jen is listening back to this, Alison has gotten like at least three iced coffees in the last i week or two. I drink iced coffee regularly until I found this drink from seven brew. And now I'm craving it literally 24 seven. So um Jen is going to be frustrated with you.
01:33:24
Speaker
Oh, I really don't care. i It was a whole thing on like my wedding day. like We went out to a coffee shop and it was a local one. like I'm there all the time. oh was going say, was it the one we went to?
01:33:37
Speaker
Yeah, Square Mile. Yeah, yeah, okay. There you go. Oh, yeah, that's fitting. mate is got the I've got the Square Mile shirt on. Yeah. But, you know, to say, like, we went there. it was the morning of the wedding. We had, like, a little meetup at this coffee shop.
01:33:53
Speaker
And I went to order my favorite drink that they have there, which is a rosemary brown sugar latte. And ah they were out of it. Like, they were out of all the ingredients for it. So I got a caramel latte. And I sit down.
01:34:04
Speaker
And Laurel was drinking a rosemary brown sugar latte. And Jan g is drinking a rosemaryrow sugar latte. I'm like, well... yeah So Jen tried to trade me because she kept saying that, you know, it was my wedding day. It's my and it was a drink that I wasn't able to get. i'm like, I really don't care. I've had it so much. It was a whole thing was like she tried to get me iced coffee and i'm like, I really don't drink iced coffee.
01:34:26
Speaker
But now I do because seven brew is a thing now, just not right near me. But now my go, okay. To answer Jake's question correctly, my go-to coffee drink is a caramel latte. That is my litmus test for coffee shops.
01:34:44
Speaker
If I don't know anything about them, I would get a caramel latte. If you can do a caramel latte well, I will probably branch out next time I'm there. Yeah. I kind of do the same thing. um i have like a a basic and then I'll branch out again.
01:34:58
Speaker
um i do one of two things. i either get like a villa a vanilla iced latte because I'm Gen Z and I drink iced drinks. um I guess I'm Gen Z now.
01:35:08
Speaker
Just saying. And then... ah I will also do like some sort of cold brew if it's got like vanilla or like a coconut flavor with like a cold foam on top. Like I'll do a cold brew or I'll do like an iced latte.
01:35:26
Speaker
Vanilla iced latte to be specific. Yeah, my new go-to drink, and I will be ordering this every single time I go to Seven Brew, is a salted caramel brevet with an extra shot of espresso and a dark chocolate drizzle.
01:35:38
Speaker
It is heavenly. My Seven Brew order is a dark chocolate cold brew with cold foam. good. It's not as good as Allison's apparently. No, it's not.
01:35:51
Speaker
I'm a little more simple. i like You find me a good mocha, I'm on the hey happy. In Vancouver, there are independent coffee shops like on damn near every corner. so like is is It's fun to go around and and just see how they do a mocha.
01:36:16
Speaker
and like if you any of you If you can nail a mocha, then I'm... It's basically how I am with the caramel lattes. yeah yeah And then I have my daily coffee that I make for work every day, which is always some kind of espresso blend.
01:36:28
Speaker
um Usually either Starbucks or Death Wish espresso blend and a sweet cream creamer. I have a cold brew jug that I use and I drink cold brew four days a week because that's how long it lasts. And then I'll do like either a Monday or a Friday, I'll do like a hot coffee.
01:36:45
Speaker
that I then put over ice. Hot coffee every day for me.
01:36:51
Speaker
So can I read this next question?
01:36:55
Speaker
It's my question. yeah um The question is, what's Energis? And instead of answering the question directly, I'll just say, when we were at, ah pantage land when we were at Energylandia, there's a coaster called Energis, and all it is is Vekoma family coaster, like roller skater kind of,
01:37:16
Speaker
And I swear everybody in my group would ask specifically me what Energis was. I'm like, why is everyone asking me? Use RCDB. Or like, have you not written it yet? Like, so I don't know. What's Energis became a meme.
01:37:31
Speaker
And then so much of a meme that Allison bought me a magnet that's now on my fridge of Energis. Just to make sure he doesn't forget. Yeah.
01:37:41
Speaker
So that's what Energis is. Just so you have your spiel at the ready at a moment's notice. Clearly.
01:37:52
Speaker
Vekoma family junior coaster. I think it's a roller skater model. Oh wait, no. I think Energis the one that has the layout of Flight of the Hippogriff. And also it's one of the characters in the park.
01:38:04
Speaker
And Energis is like a little dragon character. Yeah. Yeah, because Mike got his nephew an Energis hat.
01:38:13
Speaker
ah Next question from Coaster Cuzzy's. What are your favorite wacky worms?
01:38:19
Speaker
I, like an hour ago, I filtered my credit list to show all the wacky worms I've written just to like see if I could pick one out. I was just about to. I do have a kind of a cheat answer for this.
01:38:33
Speaker
enough that i rode the one at feeble andia that was the uh precursor to the traveling wild mouse or to the traveling wacky worm oh the like long one and it was actually a lot of fun and really cute so i'm gonna i'm gonna say that one if it counts um that counts yeah is what's it called mars at energylandia that is not no that's not a wacky energylandia is called fruity loops oh okay okay Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, remember now.
01:39:01
Speaker
um i I've actually not ridden... yeah, yeah, I see it now. I've actually not ridden that many Wacky Worms at all. I don't have as many as I thought. I have four. like i I've not ridden many. did that many just in Italy. so yeah I have Wacky Worms.
01:39:22
Speaker
I don't care to actually go through my list. and I just had it. I have them. yeah i a hundred models Yeah, I don't have that. um The one at Alabama Adventure was my... Center Speed. Yeah, that was my 199 before making Rampage by 200. Nice. You know, I've been to an Alabama Adventure, but I actually don't have Center Speed.
01:39:45
Speaker
Sounds like a skill issue. And we're already talking about going back down there. think it's still there. It is. It is still there. Yeah. um So...
01:39:58
Speaker
I'll say, since Coaster Cuzzy's asked this, I'm going to do a flex answer, and then I'm going to a real answer. rode Cosmic Coaster at Worlds of Fun when they still only allowed ah children on it, not adults. Well, they allowed adults if you had a child.
01:40:14
Speaker
But my fully grown brother and I both got to ride it because of the disability pass, I guess. But I got to ride it before like Cedar Fair Six Flags lifted all the like kitty coasters.
01:40:26
Speaker
And that's his home park. That's Coaster Cousy's home park. Oh, yeah. ah My actual favorite Wacky Worm is none of them. But um I'll have to say the one I just rode at the fair in Germany was pretty funny because it was four euro and we were allowed to use our cards. The card reader was down.
01:40:46
Speaker
So I pull out all these coins in my pocket and had exactly to the cent four euros. I like placed it on the table and he just handed me a ticket. I was like, yeah, credits.
01:40:57
Speaker
and Unfortunately, John Mike did not get to ride because I didn't have enough cash. But he was like, just go go ride it. You're trying to hit a milestone. i'm like, OK. How nice.
01:41:10
Speaker
Yeah. Next. um

Cultural Discussions and Amusement Park Stories

01:41:11
Speaker
um mom um mom mom mom mom mom mom mom mom um mom mom mom mom ma mom la um and said Do you like jazz? I do like jazz.
01:41:20
Speaker
That's my answer. I like jazz. I too like jazz. I am indifferent to jazz. I'm not a jazz i'm not like in like a jazz nerd. I can't name you a bunch of jazz songs, but do, in general, like jazz. I do, ah yeah.
01:41:36
Speaker
That is also my answer. Alright, next one was from someone named Thrills on Film. um First of all, said, guy on the right looks hot for the ah so so the host announcement.
01:41:51
Speaker
yeah You gonna make me blush. but so And then she asked, ah my litmus test thoughts on Magnum XL 200.
01:42:06
Speaker
i've grown I've grown to love it more. i I love Magnum XL 200. If there's one coaster at the park about I just want to ride just to catch a vibe with like a group of friends on there, it's Magnum.
01:42:27
Speaker
Like... that I was very upset that Magnum wasn't open last time I was there. um Yeah, I also love Magnum. When I very first rode it in 2017, I was not a fan. But then I got rain rides in 2019, and I became a huge fan.
01:42:45
Speaker
So it is a phenomenal ride. It's just it's hilarious. like is it It is hilarious. It's a hilarious roller coaster. The ejector is awesome. yeah Talk about bruising.
01:42:59
Speaker
um don't know if this is hot take or not, but I prefer row 17. six It's either 16 or 17. It's in the back car. I prefer that the to car one, row three. The non-wheel row in the back car?
01:43:13
Speaker
ah Yeah, it's not because it's non-wheel. I think the the being in the front of that car helps it. Right, yeah. Oh, no, no, i'm talking I'm talking about in the back in the back car. Like...
01:43:27
Speaker
Yeah, row 17. I'm in the back car, in the front row, but not because I'm trying to avoid the wheel. It's just because I think how the shaping does in that back, in the front of the back car, I feel like it's better than the back of the back car. Oh. If that makes sense. I'm being very specific. i know i know what you mean, though. I know what mean. Yeah, yeah.
01:43:47
Speaker
I don't know. i don't I don't really have a preference of where I sit on it, on a ah honestly. i just I do think it's a good ride anywhere. Yeah, just a seat on the train, preferably.
01:43:58
Speaker
if Yes. if you If you can make that happen, then I'm happy. All
01:44:08
Speaker
all right. ah Brambo asks, what's your favorite SpongeBob quote? I was actually just gonna use one. It's not my favorite. I was gonna say this is where I'd ride my Magnum if I had one.
01:44:21
Speaker
That's not my favorite though. My favorite is probably- also not Spongebob, isn't it? Is it? yeah maybe it's not Spongebob. That's failure at parents. Oh, right. Okay, i confused I'm sorry. I confused my Nickelodeon shows. Okay, then let me let me use another Spongebob quote on myself then real quick.
01:44:39
Speaker
Oh, brother, this guy stinks! Yes!
01:44:44
Speaker
That's not my favorite either. um my favorite as That's my favorite. That's my favorite. my favorite. My favorite is from maybe the best um episode comedy like the episode ever um from the pizza delivery episode.
01:45:01
Speaker
We're saved. It's just a stupid boulder. It's not just a boulder. It's a rock. It's a rock. Pioneers used to ride these babies for miles.
01:45:16
Speaker
That's my favorite SpongeBob quote. And it's actually SpongeBob saying it too. It's not just a quote from SpongeBob. It's his quote. So in a semi-related note based on the location of where you acted out that scene on ah on a trip last year. Can I say it?
01:45:34
Speaker
yeah What? Can I say it? are you going to say it? What? What? What? Finland! Yeah, that one. That whole sequence with the with ah Doodle Bob and just the bowling pin Patrick and...
01:45:50
Speaker
You okay, Patrick? Finland! I definitely reference that every single time I've been in Finland so far. Mi hoi mi noi! hoi mi noi!
01:46:02
Speaker
i'm i'm I'm definitely not as well versed with Spongebob quotes as evidently you two are. um But that like just that that phrase just Oh brother, this stinks!
01:46:18
Speaker
It's just the elevation through it. It just gets louder. Oh this guy stinks! It kills me every time. What are they selling? Chocolate. What? Chocolate. That's a good one too.
01:46:32
Speaker
we could just I would love to do an episode where we just sneak as many Spongebob quotes in as we can. It would get hard. They're very recognizable. yes They'd be harder than ah Bryant sneaking in Sabrina Carpenter's songs.
01:46:44
Speaker
Yeah, true. yeah
01:46:51
Speaker
Oh, this next... Allison, can go Oh, you want me to do the next one? Yeah. i'll take First of all, who who is it from? From a one Taylor Bybee. I was going to say, I wondered like which Taylor that was. The Coaster Studios. The Taylor What was that, Allison? that Are they insane?
01:47:15
Speaker
No! That's at Gronilund.
01:47:20
Speaker
i was gonna I was gonna say i I am insane. I'm not the Swedish insane though. biden No, you're not. You're not at Groniland. Insane is at Groniland. Insane was also a milestone for me.
01:47:33
Speaker
That's insane. Yeah, I was at Groniland. Exactly. also Indeed. Also, apparently it's closed right now because some guy tried to go back in under under the exit of the ride because he dropped something in the station.
01:47:51
Speaker
Um... So he went back in and the train, I guess, started moving and it hit him. But not like not like over Georgia Batman kind of hit, like bumped him.
01:48:01
Speaker
And now they're like trying to figure out how they can keep people from going back in once they get off the ride, I guess. He's fine. I think like i looked into it He's okay.
01:48:11
Speaker
I figured it was something like on the break run and like, you know, they come careening in upside down on that break run. I figured. Yeah, I don't think it's that part. i think it's the really slow part based on the description. I read my head.
01:48:23
Speaker
Yeah. um Yes. Apparently ah Taylor wants to know if y'all are insane. I am. Yes. If I'm not making the joke about Groniland. Yes, I am.
01:48:35
Speaker
I am. That you have to be. so somewhat insane to get to. Well, Taylor has more credits than me, but also I'm just like, I chased them like crazy. So yes yes, I'm coming for you, Taylor. gonna I was going to say, i'm I'm sure, I'm sure he can relate. Yeah. yeah I'm coming for your credit count.
01:48:55
Speaker
He's still annoyed that Gary's ahead of them. ah Barely. As of the wedding, it was like 23 or something different. So that's why Gary's back on the cred hunt in Shrain this year. I think Shrain was part of it, actually.
01:49:11
Speaker
kind of like kind i take me Right before the wedding, Taylor texted me because they had just gotten back from a China and South Korea. And he's like, also, here's my updated number. I'm like, Gary's still ahead of you. And he's like, dang it. but After all that, the guy went to China and South Korea just for Gary to still be ahead him. Barely.
01:49:36
Speaker
so That'll be fun to... I'm sure... I feel like Taylor will get ahead of Gary at some point. but um And then Ethan's question says, what is the most insane coaster experience you've ever had? yeah I like how that was positioned after Taylor's question. Very interesting.
01:49:54
Speaker
I'd have to say... One at Gronoland? I'd have to say my most insane coaster experience would be the two rides I got on it at Gronoland in 2024. I mean, there's nothing more insane than that.
01:50:07
Speaker
Because I've not ridden another coaster named Insane. Yeah, i i buy that by that definition, I've not had an insane coaster experience. then i just keep I'm just keeping this joke going yeah forever.
01:50:21
Speaker
My legitimate answer to that is Railrunner at Anakista. Yeah, that's fair. um I have not been terrified of a coaster like I have on Railrunner.
01:50:36
Speaker
the the the most insane or craziest i've had i've had a lot of crazy coaster experience i mean i've kind of already talked about mine with my zero but i actually have an experience with a coaster it wasn't even me riding it that's pretty insane if i can go in that story it won't real quick do i need to put a timer on you again No, it will be quick. um I was at the American Dream Mall in New Jersey when Sandy's had opened in late 2020, and they were training new ride ops, and I was next to ride. told the story. Yeah, I've told the story to a few people.
01:51:12
Speaker
um Well, one of the ride ops, she was unaware of the turntable, I guess, or was unaware she was standing with one foot on the turntable, one foot not on the turntable, which...
01:51:25
Speaker
I don't know how they had that possible, but they did. um And so the ride halfway through, if you don't know Sandy's, it comes and stops in the station halfway through and then turns and then does the whole thing backwards.
01:51:38
Speaker
Well, um the turntable goes and she's standing there. She loses her balance and then flips over the rail and falls to the ground below, which is about 10 12 feet.
01:51:49
Speaker
Um, we freaked out. the My friends and I freaked out, um, because we thought that she definitely had just unalived. Um, so naturally what we do, um, in that situation besides leaving Sandy's is, uh, go over to TMNT shell razor to ride that while we're waiting to figure out what happened.
01:52:10
Speaker
Um, and we wrote that about three times in the meantime, come back to Sandy's later and she is being, rolled off in a wheelchair. She's perfectly fine. Well, mostly perfectly fine. And she's just being taken to the hospital. And the um the supervisor of the ride said, yeah, she just suffered a mild concussion. And then they reopened the ride. And I rode Sandy's right after that.
01:52:34
Speaker
So that whole experience was pretty insane. Indeed. And not the Swedish insane. No, no, definitely like an unhinged. situation like what the why are you what the hell how does that happen just like in general how does that happen that was yeah that's that's a fun story um ahve i've I've got one. um I don't know if I would say it's the most inside insane Coaster's Magic because I really can't pick one. I've had that many.
01:53:08
Speaker
um So you guys remember when the um the whole swing launch concept with a fast switch on the Intamin multi-launches, like when that was first brought to people's attention?
01:53:22
Speaker
and Like, okay, but what if it doesn't switch in time? That's what I was thinking. Yeah. Yeah. When they first saw that. Right. Yeah. Obviously, there's got his triple redundancies or however many redundancies and stuff. um So last year, I rode two Tattis for the first time.
01:53:41
Speaker
Great ride. Awesome ride. I love it. um the that's obviously I was there the whole day um after I got the creds, cred ran it ah um ah marathoned it for a little bit before having to go back to Paris on the very last ride I got on it So we we come we come out, um come out of the station, you know, ah du ah does a whole lot little first bit, gets onto the switch track, launches like, you know, like two thirds up the top top half as normal. We come back, launch backwards, go to the spike, go back forward again.
01:54:21
Speaker
We don't make it up the top a second time. I'm like, wait, hold on, what? what um So we start going back, and I have the harrowing thought of...
01:54:37
Speaker
wait, the switch track is still there, right? Yeah. So just like a split second like heart attack moment of, we're not going to go careening back towards the first launch, are we?
01:54:51
Speaker
Right. It did not. it was it was it was It was there. It was still in its um switch position. So we do the spike again. And then come back down and it launches a third time.
01:55:04
Speaker
Like, and then we make it over that then we make it over the top. And I'm like, what, what just happened? yeah Like, is it like, it's kind of like, it's not like insane on the, on the, on the, on the face of it. But like, if you know how the Intamin like multi-launch swing launch houses are supposed to operate, it's like,
01:55:29
Speaker
Is it supposed to do that? We ended up, so yeah, we ended up going, like, you know, making it over the top hat, doing the rest of the ride and everything. it I immediately, i got I get off, I immediately hop on Discord. I ah go to um a friend, like, a Discord, got a Discord with a bunch of different different friends in and stuff. I immediately, like, I just got a double swing launch on two Tattis.
01:55:55
Speaker
One person I know in there who happens to be close to the team who developed Two Tatters messaged me back and was just like, what do you what what? What do you mean you got... i got Dude, it didn't make it... like It rolled back off the top hat twice, like a second time.
01:56:17
Speaker
And... we then came to find out that this, this is, um, a feature that these swing launches have.
01:56:27
Speaker
If the train in front, if, if, if a train dispatches too soon, basically, um, it like this, the swing launch system has the ability to do that. Um, to basically have that train be in standby in the swing launch system so so that the train in front of it can come off the block, can can reach the brakes and get off the block so so the so the block is open.
01:56:55
Speaker
I had zero clue it had that ability to do that. And evidently, neither did he.

Conclusion and Future Plans

01:57:04
Speaker
Wow. So in that moment, it was like, oh my good lord yeah yeah he he must have i don't know what kind of conversation he had like real quick with somebody else like he messaged he must have messaged somebody else like as we were texting and being like oh yeah it can do that like yeah it was that was right that was crazy to me it just in that moment i was just like uh this is safe right just yeah on this you know like otherwise state of the art you know roller coaster um by one of the one of the most reputable coaster manufacturers on planet earth that was crazy and it and it happened to be my probably my best ride on it as well that second half was in like
01:57:50
Speaker
well it was insane it was insane yeah no it was probably too tardis actually it was probably it was probably it was probably too tardis it wasn't in sweden so um yeah that was that was crazy that was that was that was an awesome experience right so i believe that brings us to the end of the episode Thanks, Jen. You're welcome. um Yeah, I do you need to wrap this up before I get yelled at for being on here too late.
01:58:23
