Speaker: Over the course of many, many interviews, I've learned that all the best struggle. But what separates these professionals from the fearful is that capacity to work in the face of that fear. Hey, it's your CNF and buddy Brendan O 'Mara, hey hey, and this is the Creative Nonfiction Podcast.
Speaker: For most of the show, as you know, I interview badass tellers of true tales, but I'm sprinkling in some shorter, blog -ish episodes. Think of it like Maria Popova's Brain Pickings, but as a podcast, where I created the tape and the core material. I opened this snack of a podcast with that struggle and how creators, writers, you name it, get the work done in the face of that.
Speaker: Nowhere is that truer than in Chase Jarvis's new book, Creative Calling. He told me, it reinforces that just putting it on the page and creating without judgment is ultimately the key to harnessing our creative power and most importantly, our voice. And that's just it. The voice finds its way through the mud, but there must be mud down in order for it to bubble up.
