So, four years ago in 2018, I was homeless.

I had lost everything in my life.

I'd lost my world, it came crumbling down around me and I was broke and I found myself on the street with my son.

And when you go down to those low points where you are left with nothing and you're literally on the street and you look around you, your possessions are in black bin liners and you're like, how did my life get this bad?

Then the only place to look is inward.

The only place is to look up, inward.

You don't look around anymore because there ain't nothing to see.

So I was like, rock bottom, where do I go from here?

And from that place, I found spirituality.

and it was like ongoing but I was overcoming it when I was homeless but it was when right after I'd managed to get out of this mess I was standing in front of a mirror and I was looking in this mirror and I was

staring at myself, my makeup was streaming down my face and I will never forget this pinnacle moment.

He was preaching this, you know, graduation speech and I was listening and it was, you know, yesterday doesn't care and like, it was so...

powerful and I heard the words and I started preaching the life over myself in the mirror screaming at myself saying this is only temporary what you are going through is not your destiny this is just a moment in time overcome it let the illness leave you it doesn't serve you and I started preaching that life over myself Eric I believed it I felt it because it didn't matter that it wasn't true that I wasn't healthy it was that I believed I was healthy it's about whether you believe

whether you're going to heal, whether you're going to be something different, and I believe.

Wow, so it went from surrendering to everything, to being the thing you knew you were.

And so in your upbringing, was there any type of internal challenges with your mom or dad or things you saw?

Because there was, you know, was there moments where you suffered when you were young?

How was your livelihood growing up with your friends and family?

Overcoming Past Traumas

So, you know, when I was...

I was sexually abused in my teens.

And I was sexually abused again in my 20s.

And I didn't know that I'd been molested and groomed by a pedophile.

In fact, this is the first time I've ever even said that line.

I've never even said those words.

It's weird when I think about it.

Well, I'm being real vulnerable.

It's because you're my friend.

So I feel like, yeah.

But like, I really, I was groomed by a pedophile.

I was groomed and...

it was really, it really imprinted into who I was because I then,

later on thought it was normal to exploit your body, to put your body out there everywhere.

I thought that was validation from men.

I didn't know.

I thought that was how you get attention.

So because of that, I went into a bad career.

I got into drugs and then it was a really bad cycle.

But growing up, I had a beautiful upbringing with my parents until they got divorced.

Then I was the oldest of five and I had to be a mom at a young age.

And when I had to be a mom...

suddenly to the kids to help out and then one of my sisters died you know i went through some deep stuff when i was young and i that was that was in 2000 and i remember that the year you know you don't forget the year this is one of those things and i know i was only 10 when that when that happened but i remember it you know we were in france at the time we were in a car crash but you know i was

I've been through a lot of trauma, which I didn't realize I was storing.

And that's why I'm sharing it.

I'm not sharing it to say feel bad for me because, honey, I always say, look at who I was, how many times I stood back up to see who I am today.

Don't look at my success today and be like, oh, my God, she's amazing.

Look at how many times I have been down and stood.

people see on the outer is they see the results they see the success they see the look they see the energy but they don't understand the pain you don't understand that journey you know I always say if it doesn't challenge you it doesn't change you right and only sometimes the only way is through sometimes people want to skip

that process of that internal pain or those challenges or adversity.

And you did it and you became who you are today because of it.

And so this has been a question of mine for many people, especially people in your space, very successful and been around the world, been through some things.

Why do you think as individuals, we have to experience so much pain or pain that we internalize and we create the narrative for, for us,

to become what we are successful.

You know, there's a lot of people I work with.

If you really dive deep and find out who they are, I'm like, oh, you really lost some family members.

You went through hell and hot water.

And okay, I get it.

What is it about the pain that propels

Turning Pain into Growth

Wow, that's a question that, you know, I got asked that the other day.

In fact, by my EA, she was going through a lot.

And I said, sweetie, you need to take some time out to work on you.

So go and spend the summer and go and do you and come back when you're refreshed because you are going through a lot.

And she said the exact question.

But why do you believe that we go through pain?

And it's kind of like what you're asking.

And the truth is, we grow through what we go through.

Philosophy of 'Being It Until You Become It'

We don't embrace the challenge because there's so much uncertainty in it.

Myself in the center of the paper and around it, I would describe all the things that I wanted to be in five years from now.

I made my five year goal, my three year goal.

I made my three year goal, my one year goal.

And that's what I wrote down and made it my today goal.

And I wrote it down and I said, I want to,

be a millionaire, I want to reach 100 million people.

This has changed dramatically now.

I was like, this is who I want to be, this is who I want to reach.

that is the truth so now i need to step into it how does that version of me act i need to become them before i get there so i'm gonna become her in her outfits i'm gonna you know i'm gonna throw it on i'm gonna go to a charity store and throw things on and make sure i feel good even if i don't buy it i'm just gonna go in that store and i did that's how i actually started my career that's a whole other story but no no i did it yeah i did that and then
