Greetings and Catching Up

00:00:00
Speaker
There he is.
00:00:01
Speaker
What's good, bro?
00:00:02
Speaker
Good afternoon.
00:00:03
Speaker
How are you?
00:00:04
Speaker
Good morning, West Coasters.
00:00:06
Speaker
You're on the East Coast in Toronto?
00:00:08
Speaker
How are you?
00:00:08
Speaker
Yeah.
00:00:10
Speaker
How's it going?
00:00:11
Speaker
How's life?
00:00:11
Speaker
It's good, man.
00:00:12
Speaker
It's miracle season.
00:00:14
Speaker
Hey!
00:00:16
Speaker
All day.

Success on YouTube: Matthew Santoro's Journey

00:00:17
Speaker
Man, thank you for being on here, man.
00:00:19
Speaker
It's been a minute since we last spoke.
00:00:23
Speaker
The last time I ran into you, you were at Soho House.
00:00:25
Speaker
Am I correct?
00:00:27
Speaker
Maybe a lot's changed, man.
00:00:29
Speaker
I canceled my membership there.
00:00:31
Speaker
Yeah.
00:00:31
Speaker
Yeah.
00:00:32
Speaker
They have one in Canada.
00:00:34
Speaker
Is it a solo house?
00:00:35
Speaker
Yeah.
00:00:35
Speaker
Yeah.
00:00:35
Speaker
That's where I got my first one.
00:00:37
Speaker
So I got my membership in Toronto years ago.
00:00:39
Speaker
And I got the worldwide membership, which allowed me to go to the LA one because the LA Soho house is actually, there's like a multiple year waiting list.
00:00:49
Speaker
A lot of people don't know that.
00:00:51
Speaker
Yeah, because that's like that one in the Miami one are like the big ones, right?
00:00:56
Speaker
And so that was really cool though to go there because I remember like one time I was having brunch and like Common sat down the table next to me.
00:01:04
Speaker
I'm like, yo, this is like, that's wild, you know?
00:01:07
Speaker
Yeah, everybody's in there.
00:01:08
Speaker
It's like every who's who.
00:01:10
Speaker
of America and the world, celebrity athlete, it's crazy.
00:01:14
Speaker
Yeah, man, look, we're here.
00:01:16
Speaker
We got a conversation I want to have with you.
00:01:19
Speaker
I just want to catch

Impact of Videos and Personal Experiences

00:01:20
Speaker
up.
00:01:20
Speaker
But to people who don't know who Matthew Santoro is, this guy is a big, big, big, big YouTube sensation and star.
00:01:30
Speaker
um he's been on youtube for a long time before the new youtubers uh he's also he has six million subscribers um and i met him at an event uh he did my podcast like three years ago and then we just stayed in touch man um but let's just get right into it i think my first question for you is six million subscribers like what was your intentions to even get there how did that start and when did it start
00:01:59
Speaker
um well i'll just be completely transparent with you ever since i was young i wanted to be famous now that's not something that i care about now yeah i'm saying back then that was a huge goal of mine and so when my career started taking off
00:02:17
Speaker
I was like, oh, I'm finally getting everything that I ever wanted.
00:02:22
Speaker
I got the attention and then the money started coming in all that.
00:02:25
Speaker
And so but, you know, as time went on, as we all know, these things are not what fulfills us.
00:02:32
Speaker
Right.
00:02:32
Speaker
There's only one thing that can fulfill us.
00:02:34
Speaker
And that's that's connecting to our source energy.

Vision and Doubts: The YouTube Experience

00:02:37
Speaker
and so you know but at the time i wanted it and so i just i envisioned it i envisioned it i envisioned it ever since i was a little kid i was always grateful because my mom always you know i had that support from from the home base as well my mom always told me since i was a little kid i would do something great for the world one day i would do something to help people one day um
00:02:59
Speaker
and you know i'm not out here curing cancer or anything like that but you know like i put a smile on people's faces and and you know even if i do a creepy video and i creep people out i get dms from people saying like you know uh like can i can i say things like i don't want i don't know if we do trigger warnings or whatever on here but like i've had people say things like i was gonna kill myself and and and i didn't
00:03:25
Speaker
because I stumbled upon your videos and for some reason it just gave me a reason to not do it.
00:03:30
Speaker
And that's when I realized like the things we do in life impact other people in ways that we may never know.
00:03:39
Speaker
And I'm sure there are other people that have never DMed me that have been impacted by my videos and I'll never know that.

Content Evolution and Growth

00:03:46
Speaker
I've even had people that were deployed in Afghanistan be like, dude, I am currently in Afghanistan and watching your blogs, just simple videos of me walking around showing home reminds them why they're doing what they're doing.
00:04:01
Speaker
And that right there is just, that's a wild, I don't know if you've ever experienced that or not.
00:04:06
Speaker
Yeah, absolutely.
00:04:08
Speaker
I always say,
00:04:10
Speaker
You never know who's watching, no matter what you are, where you are, someone's watching you.
00:04:16
Speaker
When I was 17, I think my little brother at the time was probably six years old.
00:04:21
Speaker
I was going to a senior prom.
00:04:23
Speaker
But I had a picture of Junior Promo me and my date and, you know, and I was putting cologne on and like he came upstairs and like he had the little like keychain with the date on it and he stopped putting on cologne.
00:04:36
Speaker
And in my mind, I'm 17.
00:04:37
Speaker
I'm still a kid.
00:04:38
Speaker
You know, I'm thinking like, damn, this kid, this is my little brother.
00:04:41
Speaker
He's watching me.
00:04:43
Speaker
I'm inspiring him.
00:04:44
Speaker
So I just think it's important to really be intentional about what we do.
00:04:51
Speaker
about what we put out and I think you've been adding value to people for years.
00:04:55
Speaker
I mean to get 6 million subscribers, I mean come on now you got YouTube awards.
00:05:00
Speaker
I think you did like you do a lot of like facts right top 10 facts top 50 facts and I think you did one of books.
00:05:07
Speaker
I think the number one book sold is like the Bible right?
00:05:11
Speaker
Yeah of all time.
00:05:13
Speaker
And you probably got over like 300 or maybe more videos, but I just think for you, how many?
00:05:20
Speaker
I've done almost a thousand videos.
00:05:21
Speaker
Wow.
00:05:23
Speaker
Can you speak on, you know, not only successful consistency, like what keeps you consistent and where do you get the momentum to keep going and to find information and insight to kind of build up, you know, your content for your followers and for your people on your platform?
00:05:39
Speaker
Because you've been doing it for how long?
00:05:41
Speaker
How many years?
00:05:42
Speaker
Just YouTube.
00:05:43
Speaker
11 years.
00:05:45
Speaker
You got a decade in.
00:05:46
Speaker
Give that man his props.
00:05:48
Speaker
Give him his flowers.
00:05:49
Speaker
Yeah, it's been a long time.
00:05:52
Speaker
So what was your question?
00:05:54
Speaker
Like what keeps you going?
00:05:56
Speaker
How, where did you get the momentum to be consistent, to have the information and insights to know what to push out to your platform on YouTube?

Bitcoin Investment Lessons

00:06:05
Speaker
Like where did all that come from?
00:06:07
Speaker
The content ideas?
00:06:08
Speaker
Yeah, that's changed over the years.
00:06:10
Speaker
Like when I first started, I literally just started making videos because I wanted to make people laugh and just be goofy.
00:06:18
Speaker
And I was always the class clown and I always really enjoyed being silly and I would get in trouble for it in school and things like that.
00:06:27
Speaker
I decided that when I graduated university that I was still that guy.
00:06:34
Speaker
And I no longer, like I wasn't a classical in university, but I wasn't high school and lower.
00:06:39
Speaker
And so I figured I wanted to bring that part of my personality back.
00:06:43
Speaker
And so I would just make goofy videos.
00:06:47
Speaker
But that worked a bit.
00:06:49
Speaker
I got a bit of success.
00:06:50
Speaker
I think after four and a half years, I got 15,000 subscribers.
00:06:56
Speaker
So it took a long time to get that many, but I started doing top tens because, you know, I was just experimenting with different things.
00:07:04
Speaker
And that's when I discovered I'm a good presenter of information.
00:07:09
Speaker
You know, I would never put myself on a level like a Bill Nye, but he was always someone that inspired me in the way that he presented information because he met, he made it interesting.
00:07:21
Speaker
Like,
00:07:22
Speaker
she was the science teacher we wish we all had yeah and so i wanted to be that for people uh after a while i didn't think that of myself that way at first but it i sort of became that in a way for some people and so i embraced that and in one year i got you know three and a half million subscribers and that's that tip oh in one year yeah that's that well that's the thing right it takes 10 years to be an overnight success
00:07:48
Speaker
So what was that video that kind of took off for you?
00:07:51
Speaker
What video was it?
00:07:52
Speaker
Do you remember?
00:07:52
Speaker
I get that question all the time.
00:07:54
Speaker
I never had one.
00:07:54
Speaker
It was just consistent.
00:07:57
Speaker
When it's your time, it's your time.
00:07:59
Speaker
I like that.
00:08:00
Speaker
When God has it lined up for you, it will happen in God's time.
00:08:04
Speaker
It's not going to happen in your time.
00:08:07
Speaker
God doesn't work on our schedule.
00:08:09
Speaker
Yeah.
00:08:10
Speaker
So, and you know this.
00:08:11
Speaker
And so,
00:08:13
Speaker
you know i don't know if you've ever seen that meme online i'm sure a lot of people have but there's a guy above and a guy below and they're both both have pickaxes you've probably seen this yes everybody's seen this meme and the top guy is picking picking picking and he quits and you can see him walking away with his head down with his axe over his shoulder but he was this close to the diamonds
00:08:33
Speaker
But the guy below, he's got this much between him and the diamonds, but he's going at it.
00:08:37
Speaker
He's going at it.
00:08:38
Speaker
And that's the thing.
00:08:39
Speaker
It's like Malcolm Gladwell tipping point.
00:08:42
Speaker
There's a tipping point that happens in life where it's nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing.
00:08:48
Speaker
And then it all happens at once.
00:08:50
Speaker
It's like it's the opposite of the roller coaster.
00:08:53
Speaker
Instead of going this way, it goes up.
00:08:56
Speaker
And that's what I try to tell people.
00:08:58
Speaker
It's like,
00:08:59
Speaker
Don't give up and do what you want to do because when it's your time, it will happen for you and it won't happen
00:09:07
Speaker
it won't happen small.
00:09:09
Speaker
It's going to happen big and it's all going to

Sticking to Personal Vision

00:09:12
Speaker
come at once.
00:09:12
Speaker
That's what people don't understand.
00:09:13
Speaker
Hold on, hold on, hold on.
00:09:16
Speaker
Can you go back to that?
00:09:18
Speaker
Because not to cut you off, that's really big.
00:09:21
Speaker
I've never heard that in that way.
00:09:23
Speaker
It's not going to happen small.
00:09:25
Speaker
It's going to happen big.
00:09:27
Speaker
Where did you get that perspective from?
00:09:30
Speaker
How did you even get to that thought so you can say it like that?
00:09:33
Speaker
That's kind of deep and interesting.
00:09:36
Speaker
personal experience and i've seen it over and over and a lot of different people like um i want to this is a good segue to bitcoin i almost want to talk yeah let's do it let's do it let's we go it's organic all right so so my career i told you about the three and a half million in a year but let's talk about bitcoin because i want this is something that this is a perfect segue into that so
00:09:59
Speaker
You know that you were on my podcast back in the day and we talked about Bitcoin.
00:10:04
Speaker
I talked about Bitcoin in the very first podcast.
00:10:07
Speaker
I've been a big proponent of it since 2017.
00:10:11
Speaker
I've been investing in it for a long time.
00:10:13
Speaker
Yeah.
00:10:13
Speaker
And I want people to pay special attention to what I'm about to say because I want you to learn from my mistake.
00:10:21
Speaker
I went all in on Bitcoin early.
00:10:25
Speaker
I had more money in Bitcoin
00:10:28
Speaker
than I did in my actual bank account.
00:10:31
Speaker
That's how much I believed in it.
00:10:33
Speaker
I had that money locked up in Bitcoin for over three years.
00:10:38
Speaker
I rode all the ups and all the downs.
00:10:41
Speaker
There were some times in between where I made a little bit of money here and there, but for the most part, I wrote it out because I got a voice in my head that said, yo, $10,000 a coin, that is a steal.
00:10:56
Speaker
That like the world is crazy right now for thinking that 10,000, like the fact that everyone isn't going all in at $10,000 a coin is bananas to me.
00:11:04
Speaker
And when it kept going down and down and then back up to 10,000, then, you know, Black Thursday hit, which was a year from yesterday, which was when the pandemic was announced, it dropped to 3,000 a coin.
00:11:13
Speaker
And I'm like, yo, y'all are like, I'm on it.
00:11:16
Speaker
Like my, like, I must live on another planet here because I'm seeing something that no, like other people aren't seeing.
00:11:22
Speaker
So I held it, held it, held it.
00:11:24
Speaker
now here's where the story comes in that i want people to pay attention to i always knew that bitcoin was going to be where it's at now i had a vision board i don't have that vision board anymore but if you look i act

Life Lessons and Manifestation

00:11:37
Speaker
it's actually in the background of my old tick tocks like tick tocks from a year ago if you look at that you'll see 20k a coin five million dollars those are two things that were on my my vision board in october of last year i believe it was october
00:11:54
Speaker
Bitcoin for the first time in years went up to $11,500.
00:11:58
Speaker
Okay.
00:12:00
Speaker
After like a year of being in a slump, I made some money.
00:12:03
Speaker
I had a friend convince me, dude, it's just going to happen again.
00:12:07
Speaker
Sell all your Bitcoin, make that money, lock it in.
00:12:11
Speaker
And then when it drops again, buy it again.
00:12:12
Speaker
And I had that person who, by the way, is a good friend of mine, loves me.
00:12:17
Speaker
I know he wants the best for me.
00:12:18
Speaker
He convinced me to do that.
00:12:24
Speaker
Now look at where Bitcoin is.
00:12:26
Speaker
Bitcoin within a month.
00:12:28
Speaker
Sold all your Bitcoin?
00:12:30
Speaker
Sold all of it for 11,500.
00:12:34
Speaker
And if I told, I'm not gonna tell you how much I had, but if you knew how much Bitcoin I had, well, I'll tell you, I'm not gonna tell you, I'm not gonna tell you how much I put in it, but I'll tell you how much I would have had.
00:12:46
Speaker
A month later, it hit $20,000.
00:12:47
Speaker
30 days.
00:12:52
Speaker
Later, I held Bitcoin for three years.
00:12:55
Speaker
I had a friend convince me because he was saying something to me that he thought was for my best interest.
00:13:04
Speaker
And 30 days later, it hit 20K.
00:13:07
Speaker
That was on my vision board.
00:13:11
Speaker
Two months later, it hit 60K.
00:13:16
Speaker
Do you know how much money I would have made if I sold at 60K?
00:13:22
Speaker
$5 million.
00:13:22
Speaker
How much?
00:13:24
Speaker
$5 million.
00:13:26
Speaker
That was on my vision board.
00:13:36
Speaker
That didn't have my vision.
00:13:38
Speaker
It doesn't mean that he had bad intentions for me.
00:13:40
Speaker
I know he didn't.
00:13:41
Speaker
This guy's like my brother.
00:13:43
Speaker
But the point I'm trying to make here to people is sometimes the people in your life,
00:13:49
Speaker
as well as especially people that aren't in your life but especially the people that are your friends and family sometimes they will say things to you that they think are in your best interest you know you've been trying stand-up comedy for years maybe you should try to get a real job you know that sad look in their eyes it's like you're never gonna make it because they want the best for you yeah i allowed that to i allowed myself to betray my vision that i held for three years
00:14:18
Speaker
and I lost out on exactly $5 million profit.
00:14:23
Speaker
That's how much I would have made profit.
00:14:24
Speaker
Now, the reason I tell people this is because when you have a vision, this is what I want people to pay attention to.
00:14:31
Speaker
When you have a vision,
00:14:34
Speaker
Do not stray from that vision.
00:14:36
Speaker
There will be people in your life and people that aren't in your life on social media, this and that.
00:14:41
Speaker
Why are you posting that TikTok?
00:14:43
Speaker
You're not funny.
00:14:43
Speaker
You're not good enough.
00:14:44
Speaker
You're not tall enough.
00:14:45
Speaker
You're too bald.
00:14:46
Speaker
You're ugly.
00:14:48
Speaker
Whatever people say to you, there are people that will try to tell you that
00:14:54
Speaker
you're just not gonna do it and that vision is crazy i had a friend i have a dm with my friend that i've been saying forever bitcoin will eventually hit forty thousand dollars a coin i have i found that screenshot from uh years ago when i said it to this guy who i'm no longer friends with different person but the point is it's now 60k yes and so
00:15:17
Speaker
That's an example.
00:15:18
Speaker
If I would have held onto that vision, that's what I mean by God makes everything happen all at once.
00:15:25
Speaker
Three years holding, in a span of a few months, I would have been a multimillionaire.
00:15:31
Speaker
That took a few months to get over.
00:15:33
Speaker
I'm not going to lie to you.
00:15:34
Speaker
I had major, like anybody, you know, I had the winning lottery ticket, right?
00:15:39
Speaker
And so that took some time to get over.
00:15:41
Speaker
I'm at peace with it now.
00:15:42
Speaker
Now I understand there's a reason God didn't want me to have that money for one reason or another.
00:15:47
Speaker
God knew, God, I believe when things don't happen for us, God isn't holding things back from us to hurt us.
00:15:55
Speaker
He's doing it to protect us.
00:15:56
Speaker
There's a reason that I wasn't supposed to have that.
00:15:59
Speaker
And so you just got wisdom.
00:16:01
Speaker
You just gave us wisdom.
00:16:02
Speaker
You just helped me because I wanted to tell people, I remember in

Philosophical Insights on Timing and Vision

00:16:07
Speaker
2019, you think you had just moved into Palazzo by the Grove.
00:16:11
Speaker
You were telling me, look, my friend, Eric, listen to me.
00:16:14
Speaker
Eric, listen to me.
00:16:15
Speaker
I'm texting you, my man.
00:16:16
Speaker
Get Bitcoin.
00:16:18
Speaker
Get Bitcoin.
00:16:18
Speaker
You were like putting it in my head and I was like, ah, you know, I mean.
00:16:22
Speaker
Right.
00:16:23
Speaker
I just didn't know, you know, like get Bitcoin.
00:16:25
Speaker
You were the one I remember.
00:16:26
Speaker
I remember where you were, you were outside of your apartment going into the game.
00:16:30
Speaker
Brother, get Bitcoin.
00:16:32
Speaker
And it just didn't make sense to me.
00:16:34
Speaker
And so if we could sell it, I was like, I'm thinking you would have been up like at least 300, 400,000 because I know you, you know how to play the game.
00:16:43
Speaker
But I was telling my Facebook group earlier that
00:16:46
Speaker
I don't care what no one around you think, your father, your mother, your friend, your spouse, you have to follow your heart.
00:16:53
Speaker
And your heart is your vision.
00:16:55
Speaker
Your vision is what you believe.
00:16:56
Speaker
Your vision is what you know.
00:16:57
Speaker
It's your certainty.
00:16:58
Speaker
It's your discernment.
00:16:59
Speaker
It's what you believe that will happen no matter what no one thinks.
00:17:02
Speaker
Because you didn't get 6 million followers, subscribers because
00:17:07
Speaker
Oh, yeah, I'm just this.
00:17:08
Speaker
You just knew that there was something about yourself that you want to do.
00:17:12
Speaker
You wanted to be famous.
00:17:13
Speaker
You got the fame.
00:17:14
Speaker
And now you're here.
00:17:16
Speaker
So you're a manifester.
00:17:18
Speaker
You know how to manifest your life.
00:17:19
Speaker
I do.
00:17:20
Speaker
And there's two things I learned from that.
00:17:22
Speaker
Number one, don't let anyone dissuade you from your vision.
00:17:25
Speaker
Yeah.
00:17:27
Speaker
And when people like
00:17:29
Speaker
I just want to say about that letting people dissuade you from your vision when people try to talk about your vision Some of them are trolls online for example But the real people that you really got to watch out for are the people that are closest to you Yes, because they don't mean harm.
00:17:44
Speaker
That's that's what's so insidious.
00:17:46
Speaker
That's how that's how the devil works Yeah, the devil works by putting like God fits a vision in your heart and then the devil will make other people
00:17:57
Speaker
thinking that they're looking out for your best interests come to you and say, you know what?
00:18:01
Speaker
I don't really, I don't think that that's for you, man.
00:18:04
Speaker
Or you know what?
00:18:04
Speaker
You should sell your Bitcoin and they don't mean harm.
00:18:07
Speaker
It's just that they don't have vision that was put in your heart.
00:18:10
Speaker
Other don't expect other people to support you when you have a crazy vision, because they don't, how can you expect them to?
00:18:18
Speaker
They're not in your, I said that the outsiders are not on your inside.
00:18:22
Speaker
They don't even
00:18:22
Speaker
know what you know what you feel what you've been through I remember for years Matt years you know people would say you need to go get a real job you do this I was going over I was working at the nightclub I was selling water machine I was being a fitness trainer and to go back to what you said you said it's all gonna happen being that my life changed like
00:18:40
Speaker
that and it all happened to be in my whole life tipping point it was everyone should read tipping point by malcolm gladwell there's this theory that it all happens at once like he's got this story in the book about how uh there was there were these um i can't remember it's been a couple years since i read it but there were these types of shoes that
00:19:01
Speaker
were retro and these people sold them at a shop and they really loved them but they just weren't selling and then but they believed in that vision and so they kept selling them kept selling them and they were like practically about to go under and then some like famous person came in and bought a pair because they thought they were cute and were seen wearing them and then they were the next big rage and they were the first ones in line to sell them because nobody else had them
00:19:27
Speaker
Now, immediately after that, everybody started selling them, but they profited from that because they didn't get dissuaded from their vision.
00:19:35
Speaker
They kept selling.
00:19:37
Speaker
You know, I guarantee you their mother, father, friends, whatever,
00:19:40
Speaker
Like, you know, Lucy, why are you selling these shoes?
00:19:43
Speaker
Like, what are you doing?
00:19:44
Speaker
Like, nobody wants these crappy old shoes.
00:19:47
Speaker
But next thing, you never know.
00:19:50
Speaker
If a vision is in your heart, I'm telling you guys, like, I wish somebody else, if at least one person out there hears what we're saying right now,
00:20:00
Speaker
and sticks with your vision, then this whole broadcast has been worth it.
00:20:05
Speaker
Because I'm telling you,

Aligning Actions with Vision

00:20:07
Speaker
you don't want the regret of knowing that you had it.
00:20:11
Speaker
Like that was the thing.
00:20:13
Speaker
And you just gave up on life.
00:20:15
Speaker
Because as Les Brown says, only you can give life
00:20:20
Speaker
to your visions only you can give life to those and the worst thing that could happen is for you to die and for your dreams to surround your grave and die with you and stay to you only you could have given us life but now we have to go to the grave with you
00:20:38
Speaker
Yes, I remember that message.
00:20:39
Speaker
It's profound.
00:20:40
Speaker
Because at the end of the day, no one can be you more than you.
00:20:44
Speaker
No one can do you more than you.
00:20:46
Speaker
No one's thinking, looking, feeling, acting, being you.
00:20:49
Speaker
And so a lot of times we want to go and be something else that's not us.
00:20:54
Speaker
That's not even you.
00:20:55
Speaker
So stick with the vision, stay within, connect to that.
00:21:00
Speaker
And when I say vision, like I want people to understand a vision isn't just like
00:21:07
Speaker
Should I buy Bitcoin?
00:21:09
Speaker
No, no, that's not a vision.
00:21:11
Speaker
A vision is a, is a, I honestly have come to believe that it's, it's God speaking to you.
00:21:18
Speaker
I honestly believe, I believe that it's God putting something in your heart that says it's this unshakable,
00:21:25
Speaker
feeling that you know you need to do something we've all had that at least once in our life that feeling like i can't explain it it doesn't make logical sense in the norm in the natural it makes no sense but i know that this thing that everybody's telling me is crazy and doesn't make any sense yeah that is unproven bitcoin i need to do it i just i i just know it it's like this like boom like rock in my heart that cannot be shaken
00:21:56
Speaker
And if you betray that, you're going to regret it later.
00:21:58
Speaker
Now, in my scenario with the Bitcoin thing, there's only two times in my life that I've had that voice talk to me.
00:22:08
Speaker
One was to start creating YouTube videos.
00:22:10
Speaker
Look what happened there.
00:22:11
Speaker
I followed through with that.
00:22:12
Speaker
I'm still doing it 11 years later, making a comfortable living.
00:22:15
Speaker
The second was with Bitcoin.
00:22:17
Speaker
and that's what hurt because i actually had i actually had to have a call with a pastor about this to know how to deal with having betrayed my the voice that was given to me and and what we came down to was that it just wasn't meant to happen and it doesn't mean you betrayed god it doesn't mean i betrayed myself it means that it was guided by the hand of god for a reason and maybe you know maybe there's somebody in here right now that's going to create the next tesla
00:22:47
Speaker
that needed to hear this and was about to give up yeah and maybe that's how the web of god's mind works he works through people he uses people and to to inspire and and make others
00:23:03
Speaker
do what they were meant to do.

Balancing Spiritual and Material Fulfillment

00:23:05
Speaker
And I really, really believe that.
00:23:07
Speaker
And so, you know, I'm at peace with it.
00:23:10
Speaker
And, but I'll tell you, it took months for me to get over that.
00:23:13
Speaker
Of course.
00:23:14
Speaker
I'm telling you, bro, like, it's not it's not even that I had the winning lottery ticket.
00:23:18
Speaker
It's that I
00:23:18
Speaker
I knew I had to win a lottery ticket for years.
00:23:21
Speaker
I knew it.
00:23:25
Speaker
I've been there on the TV show and I'm trying to talk to a producer and tell him like, listen, listen to me.
00:23:29
Speaker
You're like, no, you're prejudging.
00:23:31
Speaker
I'm like, I'm not prejudging.
00:23:33
Speaker
It's in my heart.
00:23:34
Speaker
And then a show comes out and then they get the drawback and I said, I was telling you and I went against what I felt.
00:23:41
Speaker
And it shot myself in the foot.
00:23:43
Speaker
And I call those things God thoughts.
00:23:45
Speaker
You know, like, it's God, it's God thoughts.
00:23:47
Speaker
It's God.
00:23:48
Speaker
Look at Tesla.
00:23:49
Speaker
Look at Apple.
00:23:51
Speaker
Look at look at all these adventures.
00:23:53
Speaker
They believed in Walt Disney.
00:23:55
Speaker
These people believe that they can have this thing, but it came to them.
00:23:59
Speaker
It didn't just like, oh, like Tesla.
00:24:01
Speaker
Like you said, Steve Jobs.
00:24:02
Speaker
Steve Jobs came to his team and said, I want you to make a phone and I want you
00:24:09
Speaker
I want you to fit all of these things in this design.
00:24:14
Speaker
His design team came back after months and said, this cannot be done.
00:24:18
Speaker
They didn't say you're out of your mind because he's the boss, but you knew they thought it.
00:24:22
Speaker
And they said to him, sir, this cannot be done.
00:24:27
Speaker
like scientifically impossible to fit all of this in a phone he said got it go back and do it he didn't accept it go back and do it now what if steve listened to them what if they he let all of these professionals all of these people that are scientific engineers that know better than him they do they know better than him say to him no and he said ah you know what i think they're right
00:24:53
Speaker
I'm just not going to create the iPhone.
00:24:54
Speaker
Where would we be today?
00:24:56
Speaker
We haven't had any of this technology.
00:24:58
Speaker
But guess what happened?
00:24:59
Speaker
They went back and they made it work.
00:25:02
Speaker
Yeah, they made it work.
00:25:04
Speaker
And Steve Jobs is known for being a dick.
00:25:06
Speaker
Yeah, but he was a brilliant, brilliant man.
00:25:08
Speaker
He changed the world.
00:25:10
Speaker
And he changed the world.
00:25:11
Speaker
Sometimes you can't change the world being the most positive, nicest, kindest person.
00:25:15
Speaker
It just doesn't.
00:25:16
Speaker
Sometimes that shit doesn't get things done.
00:25:18
Speaker
I'm sorry.
00:25:19
Speaker
I've been there for years and people took my kindness for weakness.
00:25:23
Speaker
Being too cool for school doesn't get you anywhere.
00:25:26
Speaker
Being authentic, being vulnerable, speaking your truth and letting people know about it in a diplomatic way if you can.
00:25:33
Speaker
But you got to give it because if you hold on to it, you're going to what?
00:25:37
Speaker
Close up your throat shopper.
00:25:38
Speaker
You got to speak your truth.
00:25:39
Speaker
And that's how you manifest diseases.
00:25:41
Speaker
That's how you get colds in the throat.
00:25:43
Speaker
Like that stuff is real, man.
00:25:45
Speaker
Like I, you know, I never used to be one to be like, you know, oh, chakras.
00:25:50
Speaker
Like some, I'm sure there's some people out there that don't believe that stuff, but I'm telling you, this stuff is real.
00:25:55
Speaker
And if you start shutting down certain parts of the body and restricting that energy flow, if you don't speak your truth, if you don't speak, if you tell lies, if you talk gossip and all of these things, you're blocking your throat chakra.
00:26:11
Speaker
And that's how you start getting like cancers of the throat or even little things like like you'll find that you'll start getting sick in the throat area a lot more.
00:26:20
Speaker
You might lose your voice like these are real things.

Reflecting on Fame and Spiritual Journey

00:26:24
Speaker
Yeah, it's real.
00:26:25
Speaker
is important.
00:26:27
Speaker
I know we didn't touch on it, but you said, you know, when you were younger, you wanted to be famous.
00:26:32
Speaker
So when you got fame to where you are now, how did you adjust?
00:26:35
Speaker
What was that adjustment period like?
00:26:38
Speaker
And how did it impact your life?
00:26:40
Speaker
Oh, dude, it changed it in a trajectory that was never like, could have never been seen on my end.
00:26:51
Speaker
It literally changed everything and for the worse and then the better.
00:26:55
Speaker
So I believe that money was the answer.
00:26:59
Speaker
I thought fame was the answer.
00:27:01
Speaker
And I got those things.
00:27:02
Speaker
And I can tell everyone right now, and this might be hard for some of you to swallow because I know we're in an economic slump right now.
00:27:09
Speaker
A lot of people don't have jobs, but I still want you to hear what I'm saying.
00:27:14
Speaker
Back years ago, at my peak, when I was making the most amount of money, I was making six figures a month, US dollars, living in LA.
00:27:23
Speaker
And I was the most miserable I had ever been in my life.
00:27:27
Speaker
Because here's the thing, when you first get it, it changes a lot.
00:27:31
Speaker
And you get real excited and you're on a high.
00:27:34
Speaker
But here's the thing, human beings adapt.
00:27:38
Speaker
And that's what's allowed us to become the apex species because if things are really bad, we adapt and we move forward.
00:27:44
Speaker
If things are really good, we also adapt.
00:27:47
Speaker
And so you get used to that money and over time it just becomes numbers, digits in a bank account.
00:27:54
Speaker
You can't eat six roasts at one meal.
00:27:58
Speaker
You can't drive 10 cars at once.
00:28:00
Speaker
You can't live in four homes at once.
00:28:03
Speaker
And so material things over time just become material things and they just become things that you collect.
00:28:10
Speaker
And so for me, I tried all that.
00:28:13
Speaker
I remember one time I was so depressed just to alleviate the depression.
00:28:20
Speaker
I replaced all of my Apple stuff, my HomePod, my $6,000 MacBook, my iPhone, everything from space gray to silver.
00:28:33
Speaker
just because I wanted all of my stuff silver.
00:28:38
Speaker
And I spent like 11 grand on that.
00:28:40
Speaker
And I know that sounds insane, but I was insane.
00:28:43
Speaker
I was in an insane state.
00:28:45
Speaker
I was in a depressed state and I would get a high from buying things.
00:28:49
Speaker
And that's so incredibly dangerous.
00:28:51
Speaker
And that led me to such a low point
00:28:58
Speaker
that i decided i have to make a change and so i started meditating i became spiritual and i connected with my source energy and what i found out was i was completely disconnected from god i was completely disconnected from source energy the universe love good vibes whatever word works best for you i was disconnected from it and when i got reconnected to it it showed me that i had a lot of growing to do
00:29:27
Speaker
And I remember talking to you, man.
00:29:29
Speaker
We came out of church one day and I was starving going in.
00:29:33
Speaker
Do you remember this?
00:29:34
Speaker
I was so hungry going into it.
00:29:36
Speaker
You joined London and I going to the El Rey Theater for Zoe Church.
00:29:42
Speaker
And I was so hungry.
00:29:44
Speaker
It was like I was intermittent fasting at the time.
00:29:46
Speaker
It was 1 p.m.
00:29:47
Speaker
And we walked in.
00:29:48
Speaker
I was like, yo, I am so hungry right now.
00:29:50
Speaker
Like, I'm going crazy.
00:29:52
Speaker
At the end of that service, do you remember what I said?
00:29:54
Speaker
Because we all went out to Denny's right after.
00:29:57
Speaker
I said, I'm not even hungry anymore.
00:29:59
Speaker
And you said, because your spirit's been filled.
00:30:02
Speaker
Do you remember that?
00:30:02
Speaker
Oh, yes.
00:30:03
Speaker
I remember that.
00:30:05
Speaker
And I was like, holy crap, like that's actually true.
00:30:08
Speaker
Like I'm filled with like the presence of God.
00:30:10
Speaker
I'm not even hungry right now.
00:30:12
Speaker
Now we still went to go eat, but I wasn't, I didn't feel that.
00:30:17
Speaker
Yeah, I discovered probably like three years ago, I used to fast once a month for a whole day, no food, just water.

Mindful Living and Philosophical Insights

00:30:24
Speaker
And a friend had kind of brought to my attention, he said, you know, when you're eating, you're constantly eating food, you're actually putting, because food is energy, vibration, you're putting food in you and it's kind of clogging up your spirit.
00:30:36
Speaker
So you can't even get to your highest thoughts or your highest self.
00:30:40
Speaker
So I was saying like, how does a person, like you said, don't go, doesn't eat at all, and then it's not hungry.
00:30:49
Speaker
because his spirit is filled so fasting teaches you how to not want anything energetically fulfilled from food but more spiritually fulfilled from the intangible part of source right yeah and you know I've been in positions where I emotionally eat that's been me for the last like three months and I'm just yeah I would eat really fast yeah you know there's a book called the enzyme factor this guy Craig I think uh Kolonovsky scope of
00:31:20
Speaker
He's a Japanese guy.
00:31:21
Speaker
But anyway, he said most people gain weight because they do not chew their food, they swallow it, right?
00:31:28
Speaker
So then that food just stays in there, it's not digested.
00:31:32
Speaker
People don't chop up their food when they eat it.
00:31:34
Speaker
And then he said food combined, right?
00:31:37
Speaker
You can have a healthy meal, you can have a good protein, you can have asparagus, you can have sweet potatoes, you can have brown rice.
00:31:44
Speaker
He said, that's great, but all those foods combined together messes up the digestive tract because it's hard to break down.
00:31:51
Speaker
So I'm just saying like, so I got into mindful eating, taking my time, chewing my food, not being on my phone, and less is more.
00:32:03
Speaker
And so all these things that I discovered as we get right into like consciousness and meditation and prayer and attention setting is that everything we do, we take out time in a meditative state.
00:32:16
Speaker
It's so much better when we're speaking, when we're working out, right?
00:32:21
Speaker
Even when we're like intimate with a partner, describing something, teaching something.
00:32:27
Speaker
When we take our time, we get better results.
00:32:32
Speaker
It's like Michael Jordan was great because he played through the source.
00:32:36
Speaker
He literally played spiritual basketball.
00:32:39
Speaker
He wasn't rushing.
00:32:40
Speaker
He was poised.
00:32:41
Speaker
He had pace.
00:32:44
Speaker
He wasn't trying to make the shot.
00:32:47
Speaker
He was the shot.
00:32:48
Speaker
He was one with everything and those things became him and it looked like, wow.
00:32:54
Speaker
So what people, what was your journey into consciousness and spiritual?
00:33:00
Speaker
I know you said, you know, you had being rich and making all that money, but what got you in it?
00:33:05
Speaker
so far so deep where you're like I feel like you're a beast right now like I remember at one point you was reading like two to three books or four books like every two months or something like that you were like you're like on it maybe it's like three years ago but yeah yeah yeah so 2019 2019 I read 53 books yeah 53 books last year I read half that and then this year I'm probably not even gonna read like
00:33:35
Speaker
seven or maybe even five.
00:33:37
Speaker
And I'll tell you why, because it's taking me a long time to read one book because I'm spending all of my time in the creative zone.
00:33:45
Speaker
The last two years were a way for me to recover and build my spiritual side and have like a foundation.
00:33:55
Speaker
And now I'm in a place where I'm happy creating again.
00:34:00
Speaker
But one thing going back to what you just said,
00:34:04
Speaker
I want people to understand, when most people do things, they didn't do what you just said, which is the Michael Jordan thing is be the ball.
00:34:13
Speaker
That's why he was so good.
00:34:14
Speaker
He was in it.
00:34:14
Speaker
He was fully present.
00:34:16
Speaker
Most people don't do the things fully that they're doing.
00:34:23
Speaker
When people are eating, people aren't eating.
00:34:27
Speaker
They're thinking about a million other things.
00:34:28
Speaker
They're on their phone.
00:34:29
Speaker
They're watching TV.

Goals, Intentions, and Purpose

00:34:30
Speaker
They're not eating.
00:34:31
Speaker
They think they're eating, but they're not eating.
00:34:33
Speaker
When people are walking down the street, they're not walking down the street.
00:34:37
Speaker
They're doing a million other things.
00:34:39
Speaker
They're thinking about things.
00:34:40
Speaker
They're on their phone.
00:34:40
Speaker
They're thinking about ex-girlfriends or this person, that person.
00:34:44
Speaker
Just be in the moment, man.
00:34:46
Speaker
Like, I know it sounds like cliche because it's said so much now, but I'm telling you guys,
00:34:53
Speaker
I read some books by oh my god, I think it was Osho.
00:34:57
Speaker
I'm sure you're familiar with Osho.
00:34:58
Speaker
I love Osho.
00:34:59
Speaker
Yes.
00:34:59
Speaker
Yeah.
00:35:00
Speaker
And there was a book I was reading by him.
00:35:03
Speaker
The best book by him, by the way, is Trust.
00:35:05
Speaker
If you guys get the book Trust by Osho, one of the best books you'll ever read in your life.
00:35:11
Speaker
One of the things he says is when people are eating, they're not actually eating.
00:35:17
Speaker
They're doing other things.
00:35:19
Speaker
And when you focus on one thing, it's so much better.
00:35:24
Speaker
When you eat, like, let me, I want to present a challenge to anyone in here right now.
00:35:29
Speaker
When you eat your next meal, don't do anything else except just look at the food,
00:35:37
Speaker
chew the food taste the food feel the sensation of it going over your tongue all of it be 100 there watch how much better food tastes i'm telling you man it was like i woke up after that book i started eating food and mindfully eating i was blown away by how good the same food i'd always been eating actually was because i wasn't allowing myself to notice
00:36:02
Speaker
all the sensations and the warmth of the cold of the food and the flavor of the food, it's all there.
00:36:09
Speaker
We just don't see it.
00:36:09
Speaker
We don't taste it.
00:36:10
Speaker
We don't feel it because we're not there.
00:36:12
Speaker
We're somewhere else.
00:36:14
Speaker
Right.
00:36:14
Speaker
Absolutely.
00:36:15
Speaker
Yeah.
00:36:16
Speaker
And, you know, I'm just understanding what you are, what you eat means now, like literally as you age, your body changes, your metabolism changes, world changes.
00:36:29
Speaker
And so,
00:36:30
Speaker
I realize in America, we give out big portions of food.
00:36:35
Speaker
You go to Europe or somewhere else, it's not that big.
00:36:39
Speaker
You get a salad here and it's like, it's huge, right?
00:36:44
Speaker
So mindful eating, breathing, right?
00:36:50
Speaker
deep breaths, intention setting because you know people say what are your goals?
00:36:54
Speaker
I was like I don't really have goals but I have intentions right and so those intentions with an intention the goals or the desires or wants fall right underneath that.
00:37:05
Speaker
So it's a lot easier for me to get more instead of just saying I have to get
00:37:11
Speaker
six million subscribers like you know what i want a million subscribers so maybe i'll get two you know so everyone's different but those little things i call it intangible gifts of self helps you get the manifestation of the physical things you think you want and deserve and to go back to making money and having fame i tell people everything is not what it seems
00:37:34
Speaker
Everything because it looks just because it's shine and it's a diamond doesn't mean it's the finest.
00:37:40
Speaker
Just because it looks good doesn't mean it tastes good.
00:37:43
Speaker
Right?
00:37:43
Speaker
Exactly.
00:37:43
Speaker
Just because it sounds good doesn't mean you know it feels good.
00:37:48
Speaker
So a lot of times like you said with eating we have to experience the things we think we want instead of just saying I want those things.
00:37:54
Speaker
I tell people why do you want to be married if you've never been married?
00:37:57
Speaker
Why are you in a relationship if you've never been in a relationship with yourself?
00:38:01
Speaker
And can I say one thing about the goal setting that you were just talking about?
00:38:03
Speaker
I think this bears being said.
00:38:06
Speaker
When you set a goal or believe for something to happen,
00:38:12
Speaker
ask ask as big as you can possibly imagine of god whatever it is multiply it by 10 and ask god for that and i'll tell you why because the bible says god wishes to give you the secret petitions of your heart god wants to give you whatever you ask ask and thou shall be given this is what the bible says whatever you ask god for it will be given to you so
00:38:38
Speaker
You know, a lot of people like for I'll give you me as an example.

Trusting in Divine Timing

00:38:42
Speaker
I asked God for 20k Bitcoin.
00:38:44
Speaker
It went to 60.
00:38:46
Speaker
Why didn't I ask for 100k Bitcoin?
00:38:48
Speaker
You see what I'm saying?
00:38:49
Speaker
Like, and now I didn't get it.
00:38:50
Speaker
But that's not the point, right?
00:38:52
Speaker
Because I sold.
00:38:53
Speaker
But, you know, I think it was, I forget who it was, but I was watching a motivational video.
00:38:58
Speaker
And somebody said something that was so profound.
00:39:03
Speaker
It might have been Joel Osteen, I'm not sure, but... Yeah, it was crazy.
00:39:05
Speaker
It was just on my spirit.
00:39:06
Speaker
I was just saying, Joel Osteen just said, you gotta ask big.
00:39:10
Speaker
Stop.
00:39:11
Speaker
That was part of where I got that from.
00:39:12
Speaker
Yeah, because I remember watching it.
00:39:14
Speaker
I know you talking about it.
00:39:14
Speaker
And I did my own research and I was like, yo, this is all very true.
00:39:18
Speaker
And one of the things he said was, I think it was him.
00:39:21
Speaker
Like most people... You said that.
00:39:24
Speaker
His name came up.
00:39:25
Speaker
Exactly.
00:39:25
Speaker
Most people that have a nine to five, for example, right?
00:39:30
Speaker
most people will say things like uh i want to get i want to get a raise right
00:39:38
Speaker
But what they should be asking for is God, I want to own the company.
00:39:42
Speaker
Yes.
00:39:43
Speaker
Like that's, that's the thing.
00:39:44
Speaker
Like, I think Joel Olsteen said, are you asking to be, cause there was a Bible verse about like a man was a slave or something.
00:39:51
Speaker
And then he ended up owning the farm.
00:39:53
Speaker
I can't remember what it was, but are you asking to be a better slave or asking to be the master?
00:40:01
Speaker
Right.
00:40:02
Speaker
Of your destiny.
00:40:04
Speaker
Right.
00:40:04
Speaker
Are you, are you a slave of the system?
00:40:06
Speaker
Are you asking to be a better slave of the system or are you asking to be a master of your destiny?
00:40:12
Speaker
And the problem is we ask too small of God.
00:40:16
Speaker
And so God gives it to us.
00:40:17
Speaker
Oh God, if I just had 20 bucks to pay my rent next month, like I just need 20 more dollars.
00:40:22
Speaker
No, no, ask God for a million dollars.
00:40:25
Speaker
Like, take what you think and expand it to your wildest dreams because it can happen and God wants to give you the secret petitions of your heart.
00:40:34
Speaker
And so if you don't ask, you will not get it.
00:40:37
Speaker
But if you ask, you will.
00:40:39
Speaker
But it's not gonna come in your time.
00:40:41
Speaker
it's going to come in god's time so you got to be patient know that it is coming you it's not gonna don't thank god in advance for what has not been delivered yet because believe continue to believe in your heart every day god
00:40:57
Speaker
Thank you for that million dollars that's on the way.
00:40:59
Speaker
I know it's on the way.
00:41:00
Speaker
I know it's coming soon.
00:41:01
Speaker
And I want to thank you that it's already here, even though it's not here yet, but I know it's on its way.
00:41:06
Speaker
Don't at any point waiver from that, because as soon as you waiver, you're severing your connection to your source energy, and then it won't happen.
00:41:15
Speaker
There you go.
00:41:16
Speaker
That's powerful.
00:41:17
Speaker
There's another Reverend, his name is Ike, Reverend Ike.
00:41:19
Speaker
He's back in the 70s.
00:41:20
Speaker
And he said, are you living by choice?
00:41:23
Speaker
Or are you living by chance?
00:41:25
Speaker
And are you on good terms with yourself?
00:41:28
Speaker
Like a 16 minute clip, but he like,
00:41:31
Speaker
He's back in the 70s.
00:41:32
Speaker
He's like, are we living by choice or chance?
00:41:35
Speaker
And I always tell people, I don't do things because I can.
00:41:38
Speaker
I do things because I'm passionate and I'm inspired by it and I'm curious.
00:41:43
Speaker
Because anyone can say, yeah, let's just date or let's just hang out.
00:41:47
Speaker
I don't want to do that.
00:41:48
Speaker
I want to have a purpose.
00:41:49
Speaker
What's my intention here?
00:41:50
Speaker
What are we doing this for?
00:41:51
Speaker
Like, I knew why I reached out to you.
00:41:53
Speaker
I knew I was going to have this type of discussion.
00:41:55
Speaker
I knew he was going to tap into something that we wouldn't even understand.
00:41:57
Speaker
understand, but we do understand because we're in it.
00:41:59
Speaker
And the Proverbs 7, all you're getting, get understanding.
00:42:05
Speaker
So a lot of us, we get things, but we don't understand the things we get.
00:42:09
Speaker
Or we believe in things we don't even understand, right?
00:42:13
Speaker
Because it's so easy.
00:42:14
Speaker
Of course, I want, like I've learned like two years ago, sneakers, right?
00:42:20
Speaker
I had some 270s pro reacts.
00:42:24
Speaker
I don't know.
00:42:24
Speaker
I did a 5K in them.
00:42:26
Speaker
I went to the Nike store.
00:42:27
Speaker
He said, no, brother, don't run in them.
00:42:29
Speaker
I was like, you're going to get shin spots.
00:42:30
Speaker
I was like, yeah, my shins would tear me up because I was going off the look of my outfit that I was running in and my body was sore because I didn't have the proper shoes on.
00:42:40
Speaker
I'm working out.
00:42:42
Speaker
Then I go to the gym.
00:42:43
Speaker
I'm training in running shoes when I need training shoes.
00:42:46
Speaker
You know, and the right shoes support your posture, your joints, and everything about your whole body.
00:42:53
Speaker
So get understanding people.
00:42:56
Speaker
Listen to Matt.
00:42:57
Speaker
He knows what he's talking about.
00:42:58
Speaker
He's successful.
00:42:59
Speaker
I got one more question.
00:43:00
Speaker
We got rapid fire and then we get out of here.
00:43:02
Speaker
Last question.
00:43:04
Speaker
What does success mean to you?
00:43:07
Speaker
And what is a miracle?
00:43:08
Speaker
I guess that's two questions.
00:43:10
Speaker
from your perspective?
00:43:11
Speaker
Success and a miracle.
00:43:14
Speaker
Yeah, success and freedom sort of have similar definitions to me.
00:43:19
Speaker
To me, they're one in the same.
00:43:21
Speaker
Success is being free to do what you want to do and not having to set the alarm in the morning.
00:43:27
Speaker
I like that.
00:43:28
Speaker
That's freedom and that's success to me.
00:43:30
Speaker
And I think they're one in the same.
00:43:31
Speaker
I think in order to be successful, you need freedom.
00:43:35
Speaker
And so I think success and freedom go one in the same because I don't believe that you can have success, but I don't consider it success unless it's your success.
00:43:44
Speaker
Like you can be successful at a job you hate, but that's not real success.
00:43:49
Speaker
That's you just making more money.
00:43:51
Speaker
Great point.
00:43:53
Speaker
I like that.
00:43:54
Speaker
And a miracle to me, I don't know if I've ever been asked that before.
00:43:59
Speaker
I think, give me a second to think about it.
00:44:02
Speaker
I think a miracle,
00:44:05
Speaker
is when

Rapid-Fire Questions and Personal Insights

00:44:07
Speaker
something that others have told you is impossible happens.
00:44:14
Speaker
Jamie Tworkowski I like that.
00:44:17
Speaker
Jamie Tworkowski That's what I think a miracle is.
00:44:20
Speaker
Jamie Tworkowski When something that others have said this cannot happen, it's impossible when it happens.
00:44:27
Speaker
I think that's a miracle.
00:44:28
Speaker
Jamie Tworkowski I love that.
00:44:30
Speaker
That was a great explanation.
00:44:31
Speaker
Alright, so last segment, rapid fire.
00:44:34
Speaker
I'm gonna say two words, you can give me whatever.
00:44:36
Speaker
You gotta pick one or two, either one.
00:44:38
Speaker
There's no right or wrong, just whatever you think.
00:44:41
Speaker
You ready?
00:44:42
Speaker
Yep.
00:44:44
Speaker
LA summer or Toronto summer?
00:44:47
Speaker
Why you gotta do me like that?
00:44:48
Speaker
Toronto summer for sure.
00:44:53
Speaker
Got it.
00:44:54
Speaker
Vince Carter Raptors or Kawhi Leonard Raptors?
00:45:00
Speaker
Why are you doing this to me?
00:45:04
Speaker
I got it.
00:45:07
Speaker
Oh man.
00:45:08
Speaker
Okay.
00:45:09
Speaker
OVO Fest or Trinidad Carnival?
00:45:14
Speaker
I'm done with this.
00:45:15
Speaker
I'm done with this interview.
00:45:17
Speaker
I got to be Trinidad.
00:45:21
Speaker
Nikes or Yeezys?
00:45:24
Speaker
Checks over stripes.
00:45:25
Speaker
That's what we like.
00:45:27
Speaker
Hey, I like that.
00:45:29
Speaker
And on that tip, hold up.
00:45:31
Speaker
Have you ever seen this?
00:45:33
Speaker
No, I haven't.
00:45:34
Speaker
I think I saw like parts of it.
00:45:36
Speaker
That's why I was like, and I was trying to form these questions.
00:45:38
Speaker
Like, I don't know if he had Yeez.
00:45:40
Speaker
I know he has Nike's.
00:45:41
Speaker
No, no, no.
00:45:44
Speaker
Literally when he came out with Checks over stripes, that's what we like.
00:45:47
Speaker
I got rid of all my Yeezys.
00:45:48
Speaker
That was it.
00:45:49
Speaker
wow but i i don't think you've seen my grails i just got to show you this real quick because i got nowhere to wear it yeah these are the college dropout baits wow these are 2006 these are kanye's first move into the sneaker game these are very close you're gonna sell them what's that you holding them are you gonna sell them um i actually wear these believe it or not really i shouldn't but i i wear them from time to time i got the red octobers yeah i like those these are do you know the shoe surgeon
00:46:18
Speaker
Yeah, I know a t-shirt.
00:46:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:46:19
Speaker
He made these for me.
00:46:20
Speaker
These are Freddy Krueger's.
00:46:21
Speaker
Damn.
00:46:23
Speaker
I feel like you can't even wear those shoes.
00:46:25
Speaker
They so nice.
00:46:25
Speaker
Bruh, I'm ready to though.
00:46:27
Speaker
Like even the detail on the inside, it's like his skin.
00:46:30
Speaker
Yeah, he's a genius with the shoes.
00:46:32
Speaker
Dude, look at these Chicago Reds.
00:46:34
Speaker
These are North Pole Chicago Reds.
00:46:36
Speaker
I like that.
00:46:37
Speaker
So the question is why don't you start a sneaker blog, man?
00:46:41
Speaker
I didn't know you had any sneakers.
00:46:43
Speaker
You should start a sneaker blog on YouTube.
00:46:46
Speaker
Well, I have an Instagram account called sneaker maniac, but I didn't keep it up because it was going to be like the next like complex thing in my mind.
00:46:53
Speaker
But I just didn't have the resources to keep it up.
00:46:55
Speaker
But dude, this all happened because in LA when I was in LA, I had never owned a pair of J's in my life.
00:47:01
Speaker
Yeah, in my girl, my ex girl, I think you met her way back in the day, Sabrina, I don't know if you've ever met.
00:47:09
Speaker
Yeah.
00:47:09
Speaker
But like way back in the day we dated is she got me my first pair of J's and there were a
00:47:15
Speaker
a pair of gray, just plain gray J's.
00:47:18
Speaker
And that was like, it was like giving like a drug dealer giving up a little bit free.
00:47:22
Speaker
And then dude, that was it.
00:47:24
Speaker
Like I just discovered this whole world and this whole culture and like sneakers are like a whole thing.
00:47:29
Speaker
And you know, they're, they're kind of catching on in Toronto, but nothing like LA.
00:47:34
Speaker
Like when I was in LA, oh man, that was, that's the only reason I showed you that was because, um,
00:47:41
Speaker
I don't have anywhere to wear them.
00:47:43
Speaker
Like I haven't worn any of those in a year from the pandemic.
00:47:46
Speaker
So like, you know, that's why I bought them, right?
00:47:48
Speaker
To wear them and have fun with them.
00:47:50
Speaker
And like, I can't, I can't even do that.
00:47:52
Speaker
So you got to do a photo shoot, bro.
00:47:53
Speaker
You should do a sneaker photo shoot.
00:47:55
Speaker
I threw on my Instagram.
00:47:56
Speaker
If anyone checks out my Instagram, there's like a couple photos from maybe like a year ago that I took in LA, just like me in front of them.
00:48:02
Speaker
Like that's about it, man.
00:48:05
Speaker
So last question before we get out of here, happy and married or happy and rich?
00:48:11
Speaker
Oh, happy and married 100%.
00:48:12
Speaker
Easy, right?
00:48:14
Speaker
Yeah, no, that's easy.
00:48:15
Speaker
Because like I told you, I've had money, and I've not had money.
00:48:20
Speaker
But I'll tell you right now, I'd much rather be happy without money.
00:48:25
Speaker
And again, there's gonna be people that are like, yeah, but like, I'm struggling and like,
00:48:29
Speaker
Trust me, trust me, man.
00:48:30
Speaker
Like listen to anyone that has money.
00:48:32
Speaker
Why do you think there's more depressed billionaires in the world than not?
00:48:36
Speaker
Like there's a reason for that.
00:48:39
Speaker
So what do you have going on?
00:48:41
Speaker
I know you're on TikTok, I know you're on Twitter, like YouTube.
00:48:45
Speaker
Can you just kind of just spaz it out and just let it out so people can
00:48:49
Speaker
See and here?
00:48:50
Speaker
Yeah, yeah.
00:48:51
Speaker
Honestly, just check me out on YouTube.
00:48:52
Speaker
I'm on everything.
00:48:53
Speaker
You can follow me on Instagram if you want, but I'm not here to promote anything.
00:48:56
Speaker
You just, you know, I'm just grateful for the conversation.
00:48:58
Speaker
But if you want to check me out, just go to search Matthew Santoro on YouTube, watch some videos.
00:49:03
Speaker
That's enough for me.
00:49:04
Speaker
I'm on Twitch every day.
00:49:05
Speaker
That's a big thing I'm trying to build up right now.
00:49:08
Speaker
I've been on there for like six months to pass the time.
00:49:10
Speaker
It's a lot of fun.
00:49:10
Speaker
Do you do any Twitch?
00:49:12
Speaker
No, I don't.
00:49:13
Speaker
Twitch is like you just have people watching you do whatever you do, right?
00:49:16
Speaker
So it used to be just a game streaming service, but now it's everything.
00:49:20
Speaker
So you can do like just chatting is a big category, which is literally what we're doing now.
00:49:27
Speaker
people like irl like walking outside like streaming outside it's it's crazy man the community on there is my favorite community on anything i do online right now they're so supportive and like it's just a lot of fun and the reason i started was to pass the time because i was going crazy in lockdown like i'm a single guy i got my two cats here but like i can't talk to them so you know i did it did it just to have people to talk to and i started streaming like eight hours a day just to pass the time and now it's become
00:49:56
Speaker
Like the community on there so good, man.
00:49:58
Speaker
Like we support each other and we all know each other's names.
00:50:01
Speaker
And like, dude, I'm telling you, you would kill on there, dude, especially like doing these talks.
00:50:06
Speaker
Honestly, I think you're limiting your, I think you should actually jump from Instagram.

Conclusion and Gratitude

00:50:11
Speaker
Yeah.
00:50:11
Speaker
to Twitch or simultaneously do both because Instagram is a dying platform.
00:50:18
Speaker
It's definitely reached its peak.
00:50:20
Speaker
When they replaced the notification button with the shop button, that's when I knew it was over.
00:50:26
Speaker
Because now it's about sales, it's about money.
00:50:30
Speaker
And honestly, and as you know, they destroyed organic reach, right?
00:50:35
Speaker
No one gets likes anymore.
00:50:37
Speaker
That's just the way it is, right?
00:50:40
Speaker
Going live, like you got 30 people in here, that's a lot of people, but I'm telling you, man, start going live on Twitch, people, let's talk offline.
00:50:49
Speaker
And I'll tell you, like, you already got the lighting situation down as I see.
00:50:53
Speaker
So like, you already know the basics, but I'll give you some tips and tricks.
00:50:57
Speaker
I've been doing it for six months now.
