Instacart Pseudonyms

00:00:14
Speaker
Welcome back to another episode of That's a Win Podcast with your hosts, Morgan and Rachel, aka Marty and Richard.
00:00:24
Speaker
Wait, our Instacart name? Yes, i was thinking about that today. okay I about this. You started that right first? I did. Mainly because I'm just an anxious girly, you know? um But yeah, i would I don't use my real name on like the Instacarts. I would be Richard and I told Morgan about it once and...
00:00:46
Speaker
I was like, I'm going to do that. So I turned it to Marty, but oh my gosh. i remember so
00:00:54
Speaker
I forget that. So when I do all the pickups sometimes through, and it's done through Instacart. So I'm like, I totally forgot that my name was Marty. And so they, you know, they come up to us. They're like, order for Marty. And I was like, kids looked at me like, huh? I was like, yeah.
00:01:11
Speaker
Yeah. Whoops. Sorry, Aldi. It's for good purposes, okay? You know, it was just it's not really a lie. It's fine. I changed it back because eventually cole would be like, is this under Marty or Morgan when you have to pick stuff up? I'm like, this is getting too complicated. Bye, Marty. Marty is gone. mar is you still Richard over there? So I don't even use Instacart anymore since moving back.
00:01:34
Speaker
um I just, so no, it's back to just Rachel. That's hilarious. Oh, man. We've moved on. we moved on from that. Oh,

Rachel's Bird Watching Journey

00:01:43
Speaker
man. funny. Well, speaking of alternate personalities, Rachel has now become a bird lover, bird watcher, which if you know anything about her, you that would be the surprise of this century. i know. i literally have my whole life been afraid of them. Like hated them. Not just like indifferent. Yeah. Like I literally could not stand them. I didn't want them near me. i will say, I think it's because I had a couple experiences. Yeah.
00:02:08
Speaker
Where they like flew at me on the beach and like tried to, okay. Do you remember when I had the white chocolate phone? you Remember they were called white chocolate? Yes. I had a white one and I don't know if like one thought it was like bread or something on the beach, but it literally like attacked me when I was on my phone. trying to get it? Yes. And then I remember this other time, um, I was in, uh, Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge up there walking around and one was following me on the, on the side So like I had experiences with the flapping and like coming at me and i was so afraid, did not like them whatsoever. And it's so funny because my dad has always loved them. My, my dad will always try to talk, like had always tried to talk to me about them and I just didn't care. I was like, i literally could care less. Like, you know, and, um,
00:02:56
Speaker
Now, i love them. i It's literally like a part of my life now. And I don't know if like, you know, like you get in your 30s and then you start liking birds or what it is or if I'm just a weirdo. let Shout out if anyone else likes birds, just let me know. um But yeah, i it just happened because ah i ah I found a wreath.
00:03:18
Speaker
I'm sorry. I found a nest made on my front door wreath. And I was just like, oh my goodness, we get to watch this like fold out and watch this life cycle happen. Like I'm so excited. um And I saw a couple of the eggs like, you know, be laid and the mama bird and all that good stuff. And um and it just brought this joy back.
00:03:46
Speaker
Into my life. Okay. Through the birds. Mainly because I was honestly like, how cool that God has created these creatures. They know how to make their nest. They know um to sit on those eggs and incubate them. They know, um you know, predators around. like Like, I don't know. It's just so cool to me how something so small, like God takes care of it yeah the details. Yeah, the details of it. And even how they all look. I'm like, what?
00:04:14
Speaker
It's crazy. But slowly, as you know, my joy was ripped just for a moment. JK, joy does not come from birds. We know joy comes from the Lord. It's just a little moment. But the eggs were gone.
00:04:28
Speaker
They literally were gone. And I'm like... I literally cried. My daughter's like, mom, why are crying over the birds? um But they were gone. And so I was like, oh, seriously, maybe my love is gone now from them because I'm not going to get to watch it unfold.
00:04:43
Speaker
But another nest. I found another nest on my back porch that is currently going well. OK, good. All the eggs are in there and mom is flying back and forth. So I'm going to get to watch the life cycle of that. There you go. Sorry, that was a lot. i can go i could go on and on. Well, all your voice memos would be like, oh my gosh, the bird's gone. She's like, I really think this is this kind of bird because I see this in the spots. And she's like, and this kind of predators. I'm like, it's like all been about it. I'm like, I'm i'm here for this. I'm living for this bird watching content. I literally, I mean, I was...
00:05:17
Speaker
very invested and so I was sad that that didn't work out but I'm glad that there's one on the back porch I mean I have this app it's called the I think it's called Merlin bird ID or something like that and you can literally go out and press like the button and it will tell you what bird you hear outside that's cool and I use it maybe 20 times a day every morning I go out in my front my front driveway or my backyard and I'm People are going to think you're like summoning like aliens. Yeah, literally like, oh, here's your phone out. But I'm listening for all the birds. And now that I've done that, I can know which birds are which. I'm like, oh, there's Brown Thrasher. Oh, there's um the Robin. There's the Finch. That's hilarious. Oh, my gosh. I'm here for it. And here's another thing that
00:06:04
Speaker
I, for the first time, you know, you always see hawks like really like up in the sky. I'm not really a fan of like the big birds. Like I'm, I like the little cute little ones. Um, but yesterday, actually the last couple of days, there's been a hawk that it was sitting on top of my kid's swing set last night. And let me tell you, it is huge.
00:06:24
Speaker
Huge. And that that kind of did creep me out little bit because like, oh my goodness. But it probably saw a bunny or something. But I've never seen one that close before. So I'm like, I like birds, but not like that version. Yeah. You know? Too close. Yes. Not too close. But yes, it's been so amazing. I love it so much. journey. And I've gotten my kids to do like it too. Like we're we'll just look out the window and see what's all flying by. And it's just wonderful. That's great. you know, i'm just really... Enjoying creation. Yes. Being present, you know. That's what I feel like it is because i did read this thing once that said um like interactions with birds or stuff like boost your like mental health or something. and i was like, here we go. This is it. This is what you've been missing all your life. I just needed to love birds. That's all. That's amazing. Yes. It's been great.
00:07:17
Speaker
I love that for you. Thank you. We, um, I feel like it's been a minute since you've been on. Cause now that we're doing the every other week and then we had a guest on last time. So I feel like we got to catch up on what

Cold Plunge Sauna Experience

00:07:27
Speaker
we've been doing. We went to the, the cold plunge sauna thing. We have to talk about that. Yes. The plunge with a J. um it was, I loved it. I'm like wanting to go back. I'm like craving how I felt after because I really did feel really good.
00:07:41
Speaker
Yes. just did it like you go in, you do the sauna for 10 minutes, you rinse off and then you go in the cold plunge for however long, I guess. 30 seconds. 10 seconds, 15 seconds. We did, it though. We went up to our shoulders. I feel like that was pretty impressive. I've never done cold plunge before. so but And then you like rest and then you repeat it. But honestly, I felt so good after. i'm like, I want to go back. I know. I want to take ah Daniel and us to do like yeah have a little date night or something. I know. Because same with me. I think my favorite part was the sauna. I loved it. yeah I had not been in a sauna in years. yeah And there's just something about like...
00:08:18
Speaker
getting hot yeah that's what I knew thank you for saying this you were like but you know what i mean yeah like sweating yeah like I don't know like like I told you I weirdly like sometimes and maybe other people feel this way too but if it's like really hot outside and your car is like parked outside whatever and you get in your car like before turning it on has anyone ever just like sat there and felt just how hot it is and liked it like that sometimes I know what you mean I like that feeling sometimes. It's so weird. So it's like basically a sauna. Yes, exactly. Just for a little bit. Yeah. not Not for too long. I know. So that was fun.
00:08:55
Speaker
i know. i I think we were like so out of our element though at first. It felt like like we walked in and it was like, um or they they were like, oh, are you like the influencers? And Morgan and I were like, um, so they say, don't know. We think. Imposter syndrome at its finest. No. yeah We're grateful that yeah they reached out and we were able to do know. We got to go. so I want to go back. And I think it was like a fun, something that we don't normally do all the time too. So I did feel like it was nice to little mom's night out. Yes. To the cold plunge in the sauna. It was so fun. it would have look I know.
00:09:29
Speaker
And then you're about to go to the beach. like am. What's up with that I know. i want to go I know. I'm hopeful or I'm hoping that the weather... It's okay. yeah I've kind of looked and it kind of shows like rain and thunderstorms like every day. oh no. um But I'm like, you know what? We'll be with family and it'll be fun regardless. yeah And I feel like rain at ah at the beach and rain let at home, like I would pick rain at the beach any day. And I feel like it's usually just like pop up like yeah for like scattered... Yes. Or like in the morning and then it gets sunny. yeah So yes, hopefully it'll be fun. i think I'm mostly excited about like the heated lazy river. That's what I'm most excited about. it Where's that at? Where you're staying? Wow. Yes. it's a grant So my brother tells me, yeah I've never been to this area, but he told me that actually today. And I'm like, Oh, but be awesomes catch me there. yeah Yeah. Yeah. So it's like, I was just thinking all this stuff coming up, like it's end of school year, Mother's Day coming up. I guess when this comes out, we'll already been Mother's Day. so happy Mother's Day, everybody. Yes. Happy Mother's Day. Love to all the mothers out there. That's right. All the hard work that you do, seen and unseen. We see you and we appreciate you. um
00:10:45
Speaker
But yeah, I feel like we're kind of in like a transition period, like summer's about to come, like, you know. It's just, it's a weird time of year where everything's so busy, but then it's about to be like none of your like routines, just yeah the things we do every week. It's like, we were not going to have really many commitments. I don't know. I'm excited, but we're going to start like a little book study that we're doing, and which I'm excited about, but I got start reading. I know. Same. I'm going to bring the book on our trip for sure. Will I read it? I don't know. I was like, nothing's more delusional than like a mom bringing it bringing a book to a beach trip thinking you're gonna like have all this time. I'm gonna sit and read just yeah so like like i have nothing else to do. Maybe. Maybe you can get a little time in. I know I'm excited about that. I've actually never done like I mean I've done bible studies where there's books but I've never done like this
00:11:33
Speaker
Yeah I don't really know what we're calling it. I think I would consider it. or something yeah Just reading through it's if you guys are familiar with the Raising Boys and Girls podcast the people from there um it's the new book they came out with called Capable. i' talking about like raising resilient kids and things that they've seen in their counseling ministry of like kids that just don't have a lot of resilience and like things like that. So, um, yeah, we're just going to read through it over the summer and get together and meet and talk about it and whatnot. So yeah, I'm excited. I think it'd be good. i appreciate you reaching oh the invitation out to me. I'm excited. So it'll be fun. I feel like we've got a lot of fun stuff coming up this summer. And later, so on that theme of kind of like end of year summer coming, we're going to go through some of our summer bucket

Summer Bucket List Introduction

00:12:18
Speaker
lists. Like we'll each go through and see maybe five or so of what we want to get accomplished this summer. But before we do that, let's do our wins of the week. um Now's the time for our win of the week where we celebrate our victories. Music.

Milestone: Big Girl Bed Transition

00:12:34
Speaker
And my win this week is that there are no more cribs in my household. Oh my goodness. Can you believe that? It's crazy. You graduated. I know. it was honestly kind of emotional. was just one of those things where you're like, this is a new era, which they're still technically in my house. We haven't gotten rid of them. you know, no more sleeping in them. We um kind of gradually worked with my daughter to get her into a bed.
00:13:00
Speaker
The mattress came first, so she wanted to lay on that. And then I put together her bed yesterday. Yeah, by myself. Way to go. It looks great, by the way. Thank you. Thank you. It's the cutest. Cutest little bed. It's like one those little house, playhouse beds, or I don't know what you call it, but like the little frame. I want to buy little curtains and maybe put like little lights up or something. Like twinkle lights or whatever those are called. Yeah. To make it like a whole little cozy thing. But she had some struggles a little bit, but last night was the first night where, and that was when the bed was in. So I feel like now that there's like a frame and not just the mattress, even though it is a floor bed, I feel like it helped her feel a little bit more contained, you know? Yeah.
00:13:37
Speaker
she slept all night. She didn't like, we've been talking about the whole reason why we were motivated to do this. It's because she likes to wake up screaming every single morning. We share a wall with her. So like our bed is bumped up to her bed and we share that wall banging on the wall.
00:13:53
Speaker
Daddy, mainly daddy, daddy, come get me. why are you not listening to me? yeah Like yelling, shouting. so it's like, maybe if we give her, get her her bed, which it was probably time anyways, but get her her bed. Then she can just play in her room in the morning. Like, and she was still like figuring that out. But this morning she got up, she turned her light on. She started reading in her bed, coloring and stuff. So i was like, okay, after a few nights, you know, they get, get used to it. So I hope fingers crossed that we're, this will help with some of our bedtime stuff. but yay We'll see. I was also cracking up because i literally still had her changing pad on her dresser for
00:14:31
Speaker
or a baby and i'm like she's literally three and a half years old that's before why did i i just like okay never saw it or like thought to take it out and i'm like okay new bed changing table off you know she's been potty trained for two years now's funny Like if you don't know, like if, yeah, I'm a type B mom for sure. If you haven't already gathered that, but that's a good example right there. But so yeah, it feels like a good, I was a little questionable, just like everything when you start something new and there's like pushback and it's hard, you're like, Oh, we're doing the right thing. But i knew it was, you just had to push through and you know, we seem to be training upward. yeah. Good. That's awesome. I'm so happy for you guys. Thank you. That's so exciting. it is. It is. it it was really cute because Jude was so excited for was like, Eden, are you so excited for your new bed? He's like, it is so, you're in a big girl bed and like hyping her up. And I think that helped make her a little bit more comfortable it. totally and she's not feeling like oh I can't get out of this yeah bed like in the crib when she was upset in the mornings this way she's learning okay yeah I can just get up and she has her own space and own time yeah I love that because she's very independent so she was like crying out in her sleep the other night like some of the nights we'd had to go in there and just lay with her for a minute and um she literally just you know when they're like half asleep but they're like crying but you know that they're not really like awake and she's just like No, i don't want to. No, i don't want to. That's what she keeps saying. Like even her even in her sleep, she's pushing back boundaries that I'm not even telling her. ingrained in her, you know? Oh my goodness. That's funny. um My win is going to go along with the first 10 minutes where i was talking about birds, but... um
00:16:13
Speaker
I'm just going to circle back real quick. But ah since loving them and figuring out that I love them, um I've put up like feeders and bird baths like all around my my house now. And I got one that sticks on my kitchen window. and I've had it for about a week and a half. And Daniel was like, Rachel, like no birds are going to come there. Like it's right at the kitchen, you know, and it was like a week and a half and nothing was coming there. And I was like, maybe I just take it down. Like, okay. Maybe it's too close to like where we are. Yesterday morning, there were three three three birds that I saw in my feeder.
00:16:52
Speaker
And it's the perfect spot. I can look right there out my kitchen window. and they're just... It's so cool. They literally open the sunflower seeds, leave the shells, but eat the seeds inside. So like I can see... that Okay. yeah I mean, I saw them, but also like, oh, they literally were eating. I can see that they... Yeah. So cool I walked in after doing my ah quiet time and I was like, there's birds on the feeder. So if you put a bird feeder out, don't get discouraged. It takes a little bit for them to feel comfortable and safe at the area. Okay. That makes sense. They're kind scoping it out. they scope it out.
00:17:27
Speaker
Yes, exactly. So there's bird loving This is, yeah, who I never thought I would see the day that you are talking about how much you love birds. one, no one. That's just proof that anyone can change. This is true. This is the epiphany moment. My dad's loving it. He's like, and we can like have conversations about birds now. That's amazing. What else? What else could you ask for? Something special. That's great. Yes, there's my one.
00:17:55
Speaker
Okay.

Outdoor Movie Night Planning

00:17:56
Speaker
So now we're going to go through some summer bucket list item. I don't know if you did, like, I was thinking more like things I want to do with the kids. Did you go that vibe? too I was literally about to ask you, I hope that yours is that vibe yeah because it was stuff with the kids. Cause I had some, some ideas for me or things that I want to do. I'm kind of trying to make like summer goals or whatever, but i did kids. So okay k reminder mine's kids too. Okay. So let's just dive in or what are you going to I was just going to I'm just so curious what yours are going to be. And if like, i feel like mine are going to be like these like silly, like short things and yours going to be like, so like in depth and so nice. You're so much better at it No, I was just trying to think of things that aren't like attainable, but also yeah something a little exciting or something that would be different from our normal routine to like be exciting for them. And like, are, am I tagging along? Like, is this something can do? There's definitely, we definitely have to do them together basically. Okay, good. Okay. I'll start. I'll do first. So my first one was to make homemade popsicles. Oh, cause I've never done that. know that it's easy, but I want to make, yeah, some just like little fruit popsicles or something. Yes. That sounds amazing. Cause you know that summer is fueled by popsicles. absolutely yes you have like three a day the summer more lunch or whatever breakfast lunch and dinner you have a obstacle i know so i just want to get some little molds and i don't know maybe like strawberry or watermelon or something just of fruity yeah that's on my list absolutely and the kids would like that for sure I have some molds, extra ones if you want any. Perfect. I have them.
00:19:25
Speaker
There we go. So you know you don't got to go buy them. Thank you. I have the molds, but have i ever done it? No. was That was my next question. No, I've never done it. I think I got them once at like Marshall's or something. Like Marshall's just sell them in, you know, those little stuff. Yeah. But I got some if you... Okay, definitely. Yes. Hit me up. Yeah. um That's a great one.
00:19:46
Speaker
Do you want to just take notes? Okay. um I said... And we would have to purchase one, but an outdoor movie night with a projector on the side of the house. No way. Did you write that to you?
00:20:00
Speaker
That's one of mine. Because somebody gave us a projector. Okay. So. Okay. Here we go. Can we just collaborate here? Because you know the back of my house where there's like behind the garage where there's nothing? Yes. That would be perfect for it. It's a big like open area, no windows. And I was thinking...
00:20:17
Speaker
ah Well, it goes along with something else that I'm going to do. But like, um yeah. Project a movie and watch it right there. Well, I got one. Somebody gave it to us. Here we go That was one of mine. Outdoor movie projector night. I should have known that we were going to have something the same. Okay. So we know what we're doing this summer. Only popsicles and louder. Maybe not. Yes. Yes. Okay. okay so then another one of mine was go for ice cream after bedtime like i've seen people are like they put the kids to bed and then they like wake them upm like hey do you want to go for ice cream so i think that'd be fun yes i've seen little videos of that and the kids are like yeah not going to bed yeah yes so i want to do that just something fun that you don't usually do but you know it's going to make their night yeah and you know who cares one night you know get ice cream at bedtime
00:21:01
Speaker
I don't. YOLO. Literally. You only live once a day. There is so much truth to that statement. Okay. The second one, I said go

Dollywood and Summer Plans

00:21:10
Speaker
to Dollywood. Fun. Because i feel like we went, wait, when did I go last?
00:21:16
Speaker
December? Yes. And it was cold and I want to go when it's warm. So I need to get my season passes, but I think Dollywood for the day. Yeah. That's fun.
00:21:27
Speaker
That's a good summer Okay. Okay, my other one was a yes day. So basically, like, you just say yes to whatever the kids want to do. Like, take it. You that movie? There's a movie about it, Yes Day. But don't know. I would have to put up some limits, I guess, on it. But just think that would be fun just to let them pick what they want to do for the day. I like They would love that. Yeah. Man, not being told no. know. Yes, please. um So this kind of goes along with the outdoor movie thing that I said, but we are in the process of getting um the plans to build a fire pit um in our backyard. um
00:22:06
Speaker
So that could also go along with the movie night too, with that being there. But also I said a s'mores night by the fire pit. Yeah. Yeah. That'd be fun. Yeah. That's just little s'mores night. Yeah. We always, my parents have a little fire pit. So we go over there and makes there's nothing better than like sitting out by the fire, eating s'mores. mean, it truly is. I know. i must do. Yes. So I'm like, we need to get that built so we can do that. Yeah. But yeah, s'mores night. There you go. Okay. Well, my next one was outdoor movie projector night, but okay. I'll just go with my last one. And this is kind of, maybe this is the one that's a little bit harder to attain, not harder to attain, but it would require more planning whatnot. But i I wanted to throw together like a field day and like have like our friends and friends over and do little activities, like little field day things with the Cool. Like set up maybe, i don't know, like tug of war. Yeah. Oh yeah. Get out there. Yeah.
00:23:03
Speaker
relays. Yes. Like hold the egg across or like like the water sponges, you know, like all that stuff. I'm like, that'd be so fun to set up like in the front yard, like have little tents and stuff and get little metals and ribbons. And before it gets too hot, because alternatively, we also bought, um like slip and slide type thing. So I was like,
00:23:20
Speaker
if we don't do the field day then we can do like a water day and yeah set that up yeah i was like how fun would that be like i don't know and like even the parents getting involved in like three-legged race and and like it's like the families against each other yes you're going down hugging i know we will we're up against you guys we will actually i'm gonna pretend to i'm gonna pretend to lose so you can win just to make me happy yes basically this is what i do i aim to please you know That's a good one. i like that. really I've never even thought about that.
00:23:51
Speaker
I don't know why. I guess I'm just thinking like summer, like end of school year. Like I'm just in that vibe right now. So we'll keep you guys posted if it happens, but I really want to make it happen. I can help you. And like, you know, think it'd be really fun. Absolutely. Well, we'll be there for sure. And I'll help. I've seen like, and I think I've told you once before, maybe I sent you a video of it, but not really a field day, but like end of the year, throwing like a end of the year, start of summer bash where you have like, you know, popsicles yeah or little blow up water houses, like, and i make it like a little party. yeah And I'm like, I've always wanted to do that as well. I just need to buy our blow up. I haven't done it yet. yeah No. is it just sitting there in your haven't bit bullet yet. Yes. In my Walmart cart. I need to get it. I do. But I'm like,
00:24:37
Speaker
I got some time I know yeah but I am gonna get one but I was thinking about that too doing like a Start of summer. Yeah. Kick off summer. Yeah. Something like that. um Okay.

Visiting a Farmer's Market

00:24:49
Speaker
So I'll say my last two since you just did yours, but one of the first one, simple one was to tie dye shirts. Oh, cute. Which we have done that. We did that last summer, but I feel like my youngest didn't really like care about i feel like she would somewhat get it this year. So tie dye shirts. And then this last one, and I've never even done this. And so I would like to do it as well, but to visit a farmer's market.

Okay. You've never been to Boxwell's Farmer's Market? I've never been to a farmer's market in life. Good girl, we have to go on Saturday. And they do it in Market Square, right? Yeah. I was looking them up and I was like, how cool. I've never been. Yeah, it's fun.
00:25:27
Speaker
There we go. We've got to go. Okay, so we're doing all of these together, basically. Yes, basically.

Creating Summer Bucket Lists

00:25:31
Speaker
yes i love that i yeah i want to hear i'll compile these and i'll post like our um our bucket list and i want to see what other people have because i'm more like we could add to it you know like our running list and i've also seen like people make a whole big deal about like the summer bucket list you know like i make a big sign i don't check it off as you do enough to do that but yeah checking it off as you go and seeing what the kids like what their ideas are too yeah i can't wait to see how the yes day goes for you guys I won't be doing that one, but... It could either be like a total disaster or like really fun. I don't know. have to set parameters up to it. I don't know how you like... You know what I mean? Like what would be something if they asked that you would say no to? Or that you wouldn't want to say yes, obviously.
00:26:18
Speaker
What would be something you think? It's a good question. You know? Because I feel like there's... I know. I feel like what they're going to want to do is like go to the pool or go to like a main event or go to Dollywood, things like that. So I feel like I'd be okay with most things, but anything that's going to be like a bunch of money, $5 is the cap. No, just kidding. Putt, putt. Like, I feel like there would be things like that. Oh, that's good one too. Or they'd want to go out to like crack around a breakfast. I don't know. It's just funny to think about from their, from the kids, like what their would be, you because maybe it'd be a lot smaller than I think to like something simple, but
00:26:50
Speaker
Let's watch TV all day. yeah Okay. Do with me. Oh my gosh. So we'll have to keep you updated. I want to hear your, your all. Oops. Um, I want to hear.
00:27:03
Speaker
I don't even know why that was.
00:27:07
Speaker
I just swapped around. Oh man. Okay. that's Funny. Well, yes. want to hear your guys's get your input on that, but. I love that. I'm excited for summer. I feel like it's, um, we're going to be at our pool, living at the pool, just doing all the fun things, just hanging out, chilling all summer. Absolutely. i'm excited. I know. Same. Can't wait.
00:27:27
Speaker
Okay. Well now it's time for our bestie bite where we leave you with a little something to chew on for the week.

Bestie Bite: Homemade Queso Recipe

00:27:33
Speaker
Rach, you got the bestie bite? I do have the bestie bite. i will say, i think tacos I make maybe once a week at my house. And we always were a queso cheese dip fam. Sorry, but we, I got, if I'm having Mexican food, I literally have. Of course. There's been sometimes, like, I remember going out to eat with people in Bluffton sometimes in when we lived there and
00:28:00
Speaker
they wouldn't order queso. And I'd be like, what is wrong with you actually? And then I'm like, well, I don't want want to order it just for myself, but they were just fine with the chips and salsa. And I'm like, nah, I don't think so. Anyways. So for so long, I've tried to perfect making one at home, which, and I've done like the store bought ones. I've done that for a while, a couple of different brands and they're fine, but still they taste like fake yeah you know i'm saying yeah and you know i'm saying and um and i've done like where i've tried to use like velveta the block of velveta and like mix stuff there and it was it tasted like processed it didn't taste fully you know so i came across this video and i even know who it is to give her the credit so i'm so sorry but um
00:28:47
Speaker
I feel like I've perfected it. And I'm like, and it's the easiest, it's three ingredients. ok we Literally three. Three different cheeses or? Okay. Get this. okay So you're going to have a pound.
00:29:00
Speaker
Okay. Of deli cheese. It has to be white American cheese. So I just got it at Publix. You go to the deli and just say, I need a pound of white American cheese. that's That's the cheese. Okay. And then you do like a cup of milk and you can do any milk. I did whole milk, but you can do whatever. And then two cans of green chilies. Okay. I was going to say there's going to be like Rotel or some sort of something in there. Those three ingredients you just melt it on the stove. I am telling you it tastes exactly like if you get it at a restaurant. And is it a lot? Like i feel like it's like a big, it sounds like a big portion yeah versus just like. And you could also like half it too. You you could do half a pound and half milk, yeah half cup of milk in one can. You could make it how, but yeah. um
00:29:39
Speaker
And I'm like, less is more. I was trying to do all these like, oh, like cream cheese and the Velveeta and all these, like you said, different cheeses. No, white American cheese, but it has to be from the deli. ok You can't just get it in like a bag. It has to be from the deli. Okay. And it is so good.
00:29:56
Speaker
Wow. And easy. So of thought go get yourself some of those ingredients and make yourself some queso. That sounds amazing. I always love when the bestie bite is actually like something you can chew on and something you can eat. Literally. Yes. It just fits the boil. Absolutely.
