Identity Crisis in Motherhood

So here's the thing about raising kids. You pour everything into them, every carpool, every late night conversation, every prayer whispered over them while they are asleep. And then one day they're ready And then that's when you realize you've been so focused on launching them. You forget to ask, what what about me? What's next for me?

you know, what who am i What am I going to do now that the kids are grown up? You know, and I talk to women every single day who are in this exact season.

You know, their kids are growing up. They're leaving the nest, becoming independent, which is amazing. amazing. and instead of, ah you know, this feeling of, you know, free, they feel kind of lost. Like, who am I now?

So, you know, you know maybe you've put your, your dreams on hold, maybe you left a career, maybe you built your whole identity around being a mom which is great and all, but now you're standing at this threshold wondering, who am i outside of this role?
Opportunities for Personal Growth

And this in that, I want you to realize that that is not necessarily a crisis.

That is actually an invitation. So I want to give you three things that I'm personally setting with this week. And as I watch my daughter step into her next exciting chapter, i think that this will land for you too.

So number one, her graduation is not the finish line.

It's yours too. So as we're celebrating our kids, you know, unique, you know, milestones, wherever they're at right now, Like they're the only ones that matter, which is which is true at this time, but also...

your growth doesn't stop when they're started. So you've been evolving, learning, leading this whole entire time. You just haven't been giving yourself credit for it. So this is also your season to graduate into the next version of yourself. So the woman who built a family, that woman is incredible, you know, but there's another woman inside of you one with gifts, a calling, and a business or a mission that the world actually needs right now. And it's time to kind of it's time to let her walk across that stage too.
Reinvention with Experience

So number two is reinvention is not starting over. It's starting from everything you already already are. And I know that's kind of hard to you know kind of grasp you know at first because you feel like I'm just starting. Like I don't know what to do, where to go, what to say. you know i hear women all the time say, I don't even know where to begin. and I get it. But here here's what I want you to kind of think about is you are not starting from zero. None of us are. You're starting from realw world experience, from wisdom, from resilience, from faith. Maybe you've had maybe you have a degree you've never used. you know, education and, you know, this lifelong of raising a family and, you know, every season you've walked through the hard ones, the quiet ones, the ones where you felt invisible, those were not wasted.

Those were all preparing you. the question isn't, can I do this? The question is, what is the next chapter actually supposed to look like for me?

So I want you to kind of ponder on that. What does the next chapter actually look like for me?
Clarity and Rediscovering Purpose

So number three is clarity. Clarity is the gift you give yourself.

So one of the biggest things that keeps a lot of women stuck is the lack, is not the lack of ability because we're all capable. It's a lack of clarity. You don't know what what you want.

You know, um you don't know what you're been built for. You don't know where to even start. You don't know what your passions are anymore, maybe. You know, you don't really know how to start dreaming for yourself.

And I've learned that the clarity doesn't come from thinking harder. it comes from asking better questions. And that was a big thing for me. i kind of lost who I was. I didn't know really what I wanted. And in clarity, not having clarity keeps a lot of women stuck.

And so when I finally got clear on my purpose, my specific purpose, not just like a vague idea of helping people, that's when everything changed. It's like everything kind of fell into place and was just like a light bulb went on, right? You know, that's when I started getting requests for the podcast, guest interviews, you know, my my business started growing, the confidence started growing, the joy came back as I started living in my purpose. So clarity is not just this ah luxury, it's actually the foundation of everything.
