um let's just go ahead and address it seth uh has so much going on in life with his kids and work and everything like that that he needs to take a little bit of a break but i decided i'm gonna carry on and uh try to bring you guys the best podcast i can i'm not saying the quality is gonna be as good as it normally is with both of us but i'm gonna give it a go and uh see what we can do and this isn't saying that seth's never gonna come back it's just more of a He needs a break, needs a little bit of a reset. So we took last week off, but I decided i needed to go ahead and push forward with the podcast and bring you guys what but you guys love to hear, which is NFL and college
College Football Week Highlights

And then it all came to a crashing halt on Friday night at Minnesota. Nebraska just absolutely destroyed at Minnesota. um Nothing good to take away from this game other than the fact that when the clock hit zero, I don't have to think about it anymore.

Gave up nine sacks on offense, just did not look, could not get into any rhythm at all on offense defensively, got pushed around. This was one of the first times I can remember in a while where Nebraska just got absolutely destroyed at the line of scrimmage on both sides and it just, nothing worked and Yeah, it's just one of those games where you hope they can punt it and just flush it and and not think about it too much. There was a lot of things not to like about that game. I don't want to get too deep into it because I feel like I could talk about it for 20 minutes. So um basically, i I'll say as Minnesota destroyed us, as i mean, PJ Fleck owns Nebraska, there's just no way around it at all.

I am not, but Seth is. so I knew I at least wanted to hit on this game since obviously you guys are used to hearing us talk about our two teams. Yeah.

Um, since we were gone last week, I want to bring up the James Franklin saga. I don't know how many of you guys watched college game day on Saturday, but he just seems like he's completely blindsided by the whole thing about the firing and everything like that.

Bill O'Brien took it over for two years after the Joe Paterno saga, but for all intents and purposes, James Franklin bought brought Penn State back to national relevance.

Notre Dame looks... I mean, granted, they lost two really close games to two really good teams at the beginning of the season. I thought coming into this game, USC looked pretty damn good, honestly.

I campaigned after the first two games that I just felt like they needed to hand him the ball more and just start focusing on that. And ever since they started doing that, they've done nothing but win. So I'm going to go ahead guess that Notre Dame ends up in the playoff at the end of the year. This was their last really tough game. So I would go ahead and guess that you can pencil them in for one of those 12 playoff spots.

Last game we want to hit on, Miami is upset by a Louisville last Friday night. Man, I'm sorry. And I know the history in this game. Louisville has kind of owned this series a little bit, but i just, coming into this game, man, I just, I felt like Carson Beck was just playing on such a different level. And in this game, he just looked like a shell of himself and it ended up costing him the game. And yeah, it kind of crazy to see Miami lose that game. Those Friday night games are tough though. um Michael Parsons did get his first three-set game as a pro, so impressive to see him do that, um but it's kind of just what you expect from him. Jacoby Bursette, This guy just comes in and just when he's needed, he just comes in and does this thing. I mean, he almost led him to the win in this game. But, again, just Packers defense stepped up at the end and made enough plays. But, yeah, just, again, Packers offense is just frustrating to watch for me. It just it doesn't make a lot of sense why they're struggling.

Yeah, just an impressive win from the Lions. um Second game of the night was Seahawks and Texans. Seahawks defense just gave the Texans no room to breathe at all. I feel like this Seahawks defense is evolving into probably what's going up as a top five defense at the end of the season.

and NFL is always trying to expand the game, so these aren't going away. i mean, they're they're doing games everywhere, so this definitely isn't going anywhere. Yeah. It's a cool thing. I mean, the games usually aren't great, but it is a cool thing, especially for the overseas fans. And um I mean, the NFL just it's just it's great. And I'm glad the overseas crew gets to see some of these games, even if they're not the best. But it's good for them, man. The NFL just needs to keep going. So, yeah, I'm a fan.
