What is up Foley fam? We are back with the latest episode of the Chick Foley Show. We're going to be covering Elimination Chamber, taking a look at where we are at on the road to WrestleMania. And we have a metric butt ton of listener mail to get through. But first, let's start by introducing the star of the show, Sheena. How you doing? I'm doing good. You know me, it's, uh, it's nine 30. So I'm like, you know, in the witching hour for my bedtime. and So I'm sipping on a little small, like one of the little half cans of Cokes because it's too late to have an Alani, but, um, I feel like this would give me just the boost I need to, uh, to push through the pod.

Personal Stories & Listener Engagement

00:00:59
Speaker
Jordan, what's going on out in Omaha, man? Not too much. Just, ah yeah, we had dance weekend this weekend, so fresh off that. And yeah, just ah just living, man. I turned 40. Was it like competition? No, no, no, no, no. We don't do any that. It's just recitals. She has two recital three recitals a year, and one's in March, and then two are in May, and then...
00:01:20
Speaker
Gotcha. That's right. Just preparing to turn 41 on Wednesday. great. Oh, listen, your 40s are great, man. I feel like the 40s are like your prime years, dude. You know what I mean? Because then it's 50. I feel like 50 is pushing it where you're like, okay, I am a twee bit geriatric. But like 40s is like, you know, chef's kiss. I feel a twee bit geriatric every day when I get out of bed. And I'm like, did I tear my ACO while was sleeping last night? We, on the youth activity front, we ended up basketball season about a week and a half ago. You know, the Bretts team went undefeated and won the championship last year.
00:02:00
Speaker
Kept the whole team together, moved up in age division, and we lost in the semifinals by three points, man. So it we were the youngest team in the division, so it didn't hurt too bad, but it still sucks being that close, man. We missed it three we had a really good look a three-pointer at the buzzer who was sending to OT.
00:02:13
Speaker
um Didn't quite get it done, man. so Yeah. And we played this we played this team in the regular season, took the took it to overtime. We beat them in overtime in the regular season. we beat them in overtime in the regular season. It was ah it was a big, tough team. So, ah you know, but the balls just didn't fall the way we wanted them to.
00:02:28
Speaker
That's what she said. Yeah, sometimes your balls just don't go where you want them to. So, Sheena said, you know she's been hardcore on the Aulani. What's your energy drink of choice nowadays, Jordan? um I still do. You're still monster. Yep, sugar-free monsters. Zero-sugar monsters. Yeah. Nice. Legend. Orange can. Is that right, Jordan? Yep, the peach one. The peach one's the one I do. She has already got your energy drink clocked, dude. Listen, there's only been there's only... I mean, I think the only time we've ever had a monster in our fridge was when Jordan's here, and I distinctly remember what they look like. you know Speaking of which, are you still the Happy Dads?
00:03:03
Speaker
I'm drinking one right now. Every time we see those at the store, Brett says, oh, that's what Jordan wants. He's not wrong. yeah All right, let's get into some quick housekeeping. want to remind you guys, this show is brought to you by Ringside Collectibles. 00:03:44
Speaker
All right, so we'll start with the Women's Chamber match.

Women's Division Match Analysis

00:03:47
Speaker
Rhea came out on top. Mommy came out on top, and she defeated Tiffany Stratton, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Kiana James, and Raquel Rodriguez. I thought this was a good match. It was good, man. To me, I thought there wasn't a ton suspense. I think...
00:04:02
Speaker
I would have had, um you know, if I could if I could go back, you know, hindsight being 2020, I would have had Rhea and Io keep the women's tag belts. I think that would add some suspense to it. But I think the moment um the moment that they lost those belts on Friday night, the night before it kind of telegraphed what was going to happen, I actually had a handful of people. In our fully picks league, our kind of prediction challenge competition deal that we have there in the Facebook group, a handful of folks reached out to me after SmackDown. And we're like, i already submitted my picks, but I need to change it today. I want to switch it to Rhea winning now since they lost those tag belts. Yeah.
00:04:34
Speaker
Yeah, just it felt like it was inevitable at that point that she was going to win. And i mean... I don't know my excitement level for her and Jade. It's not very high just considering what Jade has done the last six months, but I mean, it's Rhea. She can pretty much drag a good match out of anybody. So, well, and that's exactly why they're doing it. I think, uh, you know, mania ticket sales have, you know, kind of tapered off and they're, they're slow to, uh, sell out if you will. And so I think they did, they had to put some, put some gas on it, dude. And I think Rhea, Rhea can draw some people in, um, and with Bianca not being there and, taken longer to recover from surgery you know her interaction with jade i feel like it's just cursed and uh you know they know they can put ria in that position and she's gonna pull through have you guys clocked the uh the drama with the the women's locker room on twitter today jordan did you see any of that no what's going on Yeah, so ah Chelsea Green made a tweet basically just shouting out Rhea just how nice and kind she is. I saw that. And how she's the best you know wrestler in the world. And somehow Jade Cargill took offense to that and basically posted something to ah to Chelsea Green to the effect of, you know, you always got something to say. You know, don't make me embarrass you on this app. Then Piper Niven checks in from the cheap seats and says, you know, i i says I could embarrass you on this app, but if they give you enough ring time, you'll just do it yourself. was like, dang, dude, straight for the drug dealer. So yeah yeah, I don't know. I feel like I'm kind of of two minds coming from do drop. Yeah. I think, uh, yeah, again, you Jade has been built up in kayfabe.
00:06:03
Speaker
They've really heard Rhea and Tiffany with only two realistic options to, uh, to face her at mania. Yeah. Um, you know, i I think I could see one of two things happening with this Rhea and ah Jade match at Mania, man. One, I think we could actually see the end of the experiment of Jade Cargill being presented as top of the division and we kind of see her pivot down to be more of like a special attraction. You know what i mean? The equivalent of like, ah you know, a Braun Strowman type deal but for the women, you know, pops up every once in a while for a big match or to be somebody's heater or, or, ah you know, if I could put my Vince Russo hat on, man, maybe we see Bianca Belair return at WrestleMania and,
00:06:39
Speaker
align with Jade, you know what i mean? Like, you know, to turn on Rhea, that would make some sense. i could I could see that, or this is, you know, this is going out on a limb here, way out on a limb. um I could see Jade actually dropping the belt before Mania, and what if, like, you know, they did, like, Rhea and Io had this big love fest tonight about how much, you know, they love and respect each other. Maybe freaking Io comes in and they just run Io and Rhea back it at WrestleMania, dude. I mean, that's a bang. There's always money in Rhea and Io. Yeah, you're not wrong. I feel like that segment was just to lay down some more sentiment when I think i think eo is getting absolutely destroyed by Jade at some point, if not next week. mean, that's a way to build heat for sure. In the next couple weeks, man. I i think that was all just laying the track for Jade absolutely just brutalize Io. Yeah. You can't have Jade lose that belt before WrestleMania. Like, dude, even if she gets... I don't know, but do you put Jade out there, dude? No.
00:07:34
Speaker
You can choreograph it. You can go move for move, dude. I think Seth's right. She's taking a step down because I don't think she's going to win. I mean, what has she defended the belt like once or twice since she won it?
00:07:48
Speaker
I don't know. I just don't see any chance of her walking out of WrestleMania the Champion. And dude, Rhea is their break glass in case of emergency person for everything anyway. like No one's going to question putting the title on Rhea.
00:08:01
Speaker
Yeah, it's fail-proof, dude, but it's just... You could do the old Ultimate Warrior deal, man. Get get Tyson Kidd or Bobby Roode, one of their best producers in there, and just straight up make it a full rehearsed match. You know what I mean? literally Literally go move for move. Rhea's good enough that they could have a solid 14 or 15 minutes of high impact. Because when it clicks for Jade, she looks incredible, right? she but I think she was at her best when her and Bianca were doing the tag team deal. you Right. Because she didn't have to carry it. She was an awesome hot tag. A hell of a hot tag. She always looks like a million bucks. She's got the presence thing down pat, but she's just, you know, I i think as great as some of those moves look, I don't think that she's like a straight up super, you know, just like a natural athlete. I was telling Seth. She really is. I think you know a lot of people say she's female Goldberg. I think female Ultimate Warrior might be a better comparison. Goldberg was a freaking athlete. We were talking we were talking the other day about this, and I was telling Seth about how it's just it's just totally different. like Building... strength for like bodybuilding or like that sort of competition type stuff. It is like not as a functional of a, of a strength as like, you know, the way that wrestlers train the way that athletes train and things like that. And I feel like Jade has that, like she's got the look, she looks like she just fucking, you know, beat the brakes off of you do. But when it comes to something like this, she gets exposed because she doesn't have like the agility and the, um, just like the athleticism to like really shine in the ring.
00:09:25
Speaker
Brandy tried to tell us all those years ago. She needed to take her dizzy ass somewhere and sit down. That's true. Take your dizzy ass. That's still a goated promo. don't care what anybody says. Phenomenal. I'll never forget. She said, you put your ah your hands on my man. On my man. you my problem And now you my problem.
00:09:48
Speaker
yeah I mean, that that's legit one of the top like six or seven most memorable things that have happened in wrestling the 2020s. 1,000%. As far as promos go, that might be the freaking promo. Brandi's given us some gems, dude. i mean We still, to this day, like yeah around our house, we'll say, who the hell told you? I could quote almost that whole promo. Who the hell told you the night was helping my night, bitch? so yeah So shout out to Brandi, dude. Sounds like Cat Williams there. All right. We got anything else to share? One more thing, dude. we At some point in 2026, let it happen after Mania season. Let's let some of this traffic clear off the highway.
00:10:30
Speaker
We need ah Alexa Bliss main event punch. 1,000%. She's super over with the crowd. I mean, dude, Rhea's clearly number one. Alexa's not that far off, though, dude. She's beloved by the crowd. At this point, you know she got Charlotte Flair over it. Think about that. She literally got Charlotte Flair who can stand organically over.
00:10:47
Speaker
um i want to so I want to see Alexa Bliss get her to Maybe in time for SummerSlam or maybe something fun for the the end of the year. But I want to see her get another run at the top of the division. It's the Buddy Murphy rub. yeah i know you Yikes. I'm just saying, dude. You're going to see her and Rhea Fuse. You do Ray J. I hit it first. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. All right. Moving on Speaking of ah women, we have AJ Lee and Becky Lynch. AJ defeated Becky by submission to be the new Women's Intercontinental Champion. All thanks to Corrupt Carr, like Becky says, dude. Corrupt Jessica Carr, man. Yep.
00:11:23
Speaker
Helped her win it, dude. I thought this match was pretty ugly, man. Honestly, i kind of broke the suspension of disbelief a couple of times. and You guys know I'm not a work rate guy at all. So if it gets to the point where I'm complaining about work rate, it's pretty bad.
00:11:36
Speaker
Yeah. But to the women's credit, they're both over enough with the crowd. I don't think they ever lost the live crowd. Seems like people were stoked. did it right place, for sure. Yeah, Chicago was ready to see AJ get that belt. And it was a fun moment, man. I was really expecting Becky to get the win, man. Me too. I'm wondering what we do for Mania now.
00:11:53
Speaker
uh yeah i don't i don't know i i just i can see him just running it back dude i don't think the the way aj talked tonight don't think they're running it back yeah and if she's the type man i don't see her having a long run of this i could see her putting over somebody a young up how about how about the yeah the night after mania dude uh like jc jane comes up and takes the title was thinking like maybe soul ruka dude or soul yeah Yeah, I can see her maybe win. They're doing the gauntlet match next week. I wouldn't be surprised if somehow that thing breaks down into Shmala's Fest and we end up getting ah you know some sort of multi-women's match um for that IC belt at Mania. But yeah, I'm right there with you. i can see them running back the the same deal the night after WrestleMania 30 where Paige won it. Maybe, like I said, Sol Rook is the name I keep thinking of to come up and win that Aircontinental belt. But yeah, I think AJ's here to... It was fun, her and Becky's program. I think we want to see her work with some of the the younger talent. I'm sure that's probably what she's motivated to do as well. It just, I don't know, just like her promo tonight even. It just, don't know, there's just something that, there's like a disconnect there. I don't know what's going on. It's old school, dude. It was right out of 2014, 2015, man. It felt, it felt.
00:12:58
Speaker
It felt like Vince scripted every word of the promo. They have these super inorganic pauses. And super like inorganic facials. And like no no um no adjusting for like crowd response or lack thereof whatsoever. It's like I'm going to power through this. no matter what. going to say what I got to say. going to give the facial expressions that they told me to hit backstage, and that's it. I could just, you could literally put Nikki Bella in that position and it like to have her say the same thing. And it would just, I mean, you know what i mean? Like it's totally that, that vibe. Put that put the divas belt around her waist and throw up the, take the Netflix logo off the screen. You'd be like, Oh dude, why are you guys watching raw from 2013? Yes. It was, I was, I was a little surprised at how, how flat that fell. I mean, she does great, you know, but she didn't fumble at all. But it would like you said, it was just totally stiff and totally um not natural. I don't know what I was expecting from this match, but just i was just sitting there because I watched it yesterday morning, and I just was sitting there watching it, and I'm like, dude, this just, mean, we talk about paint-by-numbers wrestling. It was just like, all right, go from this to this, and it just it was just on the screen at that point for me. like It just was not entertaining at all.
00:14:06
Speaker
And it was it was such a contrast to what we'd seen, all the athleticism in there before. you know what mean? any of the six โ€“ I mean, Alexa Bliss was probably the weakest worker of the um the six ladies that were in the chamber match. And I still feel like she would have run circles around either one of them as far as entering stuff goes, man. Like, you know, you got people like โ€“ it's just tough to buy that match on the same roster where you got people like Asuka, Theo, Rhea, Lash Legend. You know Yeah, right. And Becky's ring gear was terrible, too. So it was like it was like a whole just like bomb for me. love Becky, man. She's my favorite women's wrestler. But yeah, it's this you know she's got a lot of mileage on her. She's done her part. like i
00:14:42
Speaker
We really need to see her shift to a straight up part-time role going forward. That is the biggest problem for the women's division, too, right now is it is really deep. Like we just talked about all the girls that were in the the elimination chamber. Like look at all the people that don't even get pay-per-view in some even weekly time. And Then you watch AJ Lee and Becky fumble through a match and it's like, dude, like yeah the Intercontinental title was meant for like those the mid-card of the women's division, which a lot of those people don't even get on it. And it's

WrestleMania Speculations

00:15:11
Speaker
like you have two main event people. I mean, AJ Lee in her own right is and Becky obviously is. But i don't know. It just it kind of seems like a waste of that belt to me. That's just me.
00:15:22
Speaker
Yeah. Well, but like we said, you know, I can totally see AJ Lee having like an open challenge type situation where she is bringing up the the younger girls and putting them, you know so maybe that's what it is transitioning over to. Maybe this was like the, you know, passing of the torch where it's like, okay, now we're going to bring these mid car girls up, you know, and ah give them their shot. Yeah.
00:15:43
Speaker
The NXT Women's Division is straight up loaded right now, too. do you yeah even even like You could go down to the mid-card of the NXT Women's Division and it's nuts, man. you got people like freaking Lola Vice, freaking Jada Parker.
00:15:55
Speaker
that's um That's the problem. At some point, they're going to have to get rid of some of these people because you can't have 60 women on the main roster. like yeah they're up yeah yeah There's not enough time for all of them. Yeah, it's nice. Where are they going to go, though? you know that's That's the problem, is I don't know what the answer to that is. But, I mean, those NXT women are going to come up sooner or later, it's just going to blow up the women's roster even more.
00:16:19
Speaker
Yeah. It's a good problem to have. it's ah It's an excellent problem to have, but like you said, it it can lead to some you know some bottlenecking where you're like, damn, they're not using this person, but it's like, you know, there's only so much time on TV. um CM Punk, another one that I was just like, you know, I thought it was okay with CM Punk and Finn Balor. I thought the match was good, man. What they put in the ring was good, but just, dude, I hate that they put Finn Balor in the death spot, man. or that That filler feud between the Rumble and Mania. I'm hoping that whoever wins out of Roman and CM Punk, that they run it back with CM Punk right after Mania, man. He's actually got a fair shot to pull something off, man. it feels like we got to see a Finn Balor face turn coming, man. so But yeah, I thought the match was cool. I you know i hate CM Punk, dude. I got to give props. I thought that entrance was was excellent. man Oh, the entrance was incredible. Yeah. 100%. Finn needs the main event trunks back. Like, dude, I'm sorry. I just, I, the, the Finn Balor pants thing is just, it's too much for me to get over. at it I think, you know, honestly, I'm usually, i'm usually in the opposite camp of where I'm like, I'm definitely team tights, but, uh, I, I do agree that Finn is, uh, he's more of a trunk man. Well, the thing is, he's not even wearing like, you know, you know, regular long boys, like Shawn Michaels. well He's just wearing joggers. He's wearing joggers. Yeah. He's wearing, he's wearing his Lululemons. He went to PacSun, dude. I some freaking street wear joggers, dude. And as everyone knows, I'm always ahead of the curve when it comes to to apparel that wrestlers should wear. I've been calling it for years. Roman Reigns, take the shirt off and he'll finally you know get everything you deserve. And he was 100% right, man. Yeah, Roman stripped down. We saw we saw the nips and his whole world changed. He takes the shirt off and one week later he starts the the longest world title run anybody's had since Hulk Hogan. Yeah, and Jordan had been calling. Jordan was like, why is Roman wrestling in a vest? At WrestleMania 31, I was there with the drunken Jordan chanting, take your shirt off. That's a fact.
00:18:12
Speaker
Take your shirt off. Like, dude, it just it like the vest thing just got old too fast. and like I don't know, just can't ascend to main event with a vest on. Yeah.
00:18:23
Speaker
Yeah. You know, um I was thinking we're probably headed toward a Finn Balor, Dominic Mysterio mania match, right? Because after um after Raw tonight, you know, he stopped he stopped JD from intervening in the Penta match and caused Dominic to lose his, ah you know, intercontinental title. so I kind of hate that for both of them, though. like I feel like Dom should be in a bigger storyline than that. and i'm sure here I feel like he should have carried... i mean I'm happy for Pinto. No shade, but I feel like Dom should have carried the belt into Mania, dude. you know i think that but i It's definitely... it feels like after the moment he had last year in the year he had, he should be...
00:18:59
Speaker
he should be farther up the card than this. I definitely agree with you on that, Jordan. I would say maybe once and for all, we close the chapter on the judgment day, dude. I mean, not that it's ever been like horrible, but it's definitely run its course. We're going on four years. Judgment day started at WrestleMania 38. We're going on four years. I mean, this point, they, the judgment days lasted longer than the freaking bloodline did. You know what Yeah. we're going on four years. Yeah. It feels like they've been doing like the kind of, will they want they tension between Dom and Finn for at least a year now. Yeah. Um,
00:19:29
Speaker
So maybe we just blow off the Judgment Day at ah at Mania. you know Him and Dom going on one. It's just a complete, yeah. I'm assuming Finn probably wins that match because I do feel like they got some big plans for Finn this year. Maybe I'm just poking from being disappointed all these years.
00:19:45
Speaker
um yeah i'm thinking we have that match then maybe we don't see dom for little bit let everybody miss dom little bit then bring him back and but we just missed dom i know you're you know what i mean like we literally just got him back we haven't seen him on it completely on his own he was with his dad and then he switched to being with the judgment day yeah because you know he was he had the potential win the rumble this year don't anybody would have mad if he won the wrong think he could bring dom back and he was he could be like a front runner to win the royal rumble next year and go to main event wrestlemania or at least fight for one of the world titles At WrestleMania. So, yeah, i' I'm with you. Do you guys think it's any chance, assuming we get some nasty Judgment Day breakup prior to that, that we get the demon Finn Balor back at Mania?
00:20:21
Speaker
I mean, I feel like there was like some hints. It's been three years, man. Yeah, but I think. know i don't I don't know. the i feel like they they literally murdered the demon with the demon king. They He lost his last two matches, dude He lost to Roman and he lost to Edge, man. Especially the one with the Roman, you're going to buy it, right? Because he had some cool moments in that. Losing to Edge after, yeah just criminal yeah. Yeah. That was the nail in the coffin, dude. Yeah.
00:20:43
Speaker
um All right, let's move on to the men's elimination chamber in a surprising victory. I guess not surprising because this man can win any match at any given time. You know, comes out of nowhere. but or andy I saw it coming. though I did not see this. Out of 32 people in the Foley Picks League, only two picks. I did not see this coming. Randy Orton.
00:21:01
Speaker
wins the men's elimination chamber match. um It came down to him and Cody Rhodes in the end. I thought Cody was a stone-cold lock. Yeah, I just thought that that was like, just like I thought Rio was a stone-cold lock, I was like, cody Cody is winning this. And then when Brandi got the PM, I mean, I literally set up, I've been like, you know, like...
00:21:19
Speaker
totally rotting on the couch right like laying down and i like sat up like the undertaker when randy orton won because i just could not believe my eyes dude so dude i really feel like cody's gonna get inserted into this match somehow though like i yeah i know they're doing the thing on friday night i just feel like that's gonna be a smudge finish and then it's gonna be cody randy and drew it's like jesus I think Jacob's getting in there also, man. I think it could be a fatal four-way. Jacob's been involved all the way in this Cody and Drew stuff, dude. I'm i'm seeing โ€“ I think Jacob gets involved in the match on Friday, and somehow we we get to to all four those guys. You know, the rumor going on in the dirt sheets, man, like about a week and a half ago. was that the current plan was going to be a Fatal 5-Way that included those four and also Aleister Black. now I don't know how you get Aleister Black A into that mix. I mean, he has been feuding with Randy, but i don't know how that automatically gets him in the world title picture. But um I'm hearing Fatal 5-Way was the report off the dirt sheets. um I don't know if you guys saw, man, that the first hour of each night of WrestleMania is going to be airing on yeah ESPN. So I could see if they end up getting a fatal four way or a fatal five way for the belt, I could see them just pulling out all the stops and putting that as one of the matches to ah open one of the nights, man, to kind of just, you know, lock everybody in, capture some laps fans and maybe try to convert some subscriptions for ESPN Unlimited or whatever they're calling it. Just go all out like WrestleMania 2000 and put a McMahon in every corner for the fatal four way.
00:22:43
Speaker
What if that's how they brought they made the Cody heel turn? They bring Vince back in alignment with Cody, dude. Start a new corporation. Yeah. yeah i um Yeah, I mean, they're gonna have if they're going to do that, they need to beef up their servers because our ESPN server was that trash. Yeah, Peacock never did us like that. It kept glitching out. Yeah, I kept just saying, like, the network would never do us like this. Every time it would, like, glitch out, you know, it's like, the network would never do this to us. This whole, like, yeah ESPN thing has been such a disaster from day one. Like, I just, yeah it's not good.
00:23:17
Speaker
The rollout's been bad. Yeah, the WWE part, I was just a small part of it. ESPN just completely fumbled. the the rollout on the streaming starts. we We talked about it a lot on the Gold Line when it was coming out. It was just sloppy and it was it was just super unclear. You know what i mean? That's the biggest, that the last thing you want on something like this is for the consumers to be like confused ah about. The consumers were already upset and then you made it super confusing. Like, well, if you have Hulu or you have Disney, you're only going to pay this or you can get it for free. and And it wasn't like a, yeah, and it wasn't a new app. It was already like the existing. Yeah, it's just going to roll into the existing app. yeah I think it's been... in the And you know you still have pay-per-views going up on Netflix, like the old stuff. And the NXT shows is still on Peacock. i just They've made it super confusing to find stuff. We just you know bring back the network, dude. I keep saying what happens.
00:24:02
Speaker
I mean, the thing is, now do people so mad about it? Like TKO, I feel like they if they could... I think they could charge $30 a month and people would fucking smile to pay it for the network to be back. People would bitch at first, but if you gave back the same thing where... All the content was there. All the pay-per-views. You just basically run back exactly what it was. It was just capsule. just an absolute capsule of wrestling content. Whatever switch they turned off in 2021, just flick it back on, dude.
00:24:25
Speaker
I think people would pay $30 a month with a smile on their face, man. Yeah, i would agree. Yeah, so. ah Yeah, I agree, dude. The ESPN thing's just been a disaster for multiple different reasons, man. Not not just even WWE-related, just across the board, man. I can't i can't imagine that you know somebody's not getting cussed out behind the scenes there at ESPN for how that's all gone down. For sure.

Anticipating WrestleMania Matches

00:24:45
Speaker
um What do you guys think about um you know what the matches that we've got set up out of this? So we've got you know Logan Paul, Seth Rollins. I think Seth might be fighting Brock, man. i it look To me, it looks like the Usos are going to facing Austin Theory and Logan Paul, dude. I think... you know Paul Heyman's still aligned with Brock, dude. I think they run that back again. I think that's yeah i don't know why. i thought i was thinking like Brock and Oba would probably be. Yeah, I mean, that's everybody's been fantasy book, and that's out there too, and that might still be a thing. The other thing is, like you know it's super you can never trust anything you hear from WWE injury updates, man. I still think there's a chance Braun Breaker comes back and we get Seth and Braun.
00:25:19
Speaker
But it feels like they're already... It doesn't feel like it's going to be Seth and Logan one-on-one. You know what I mean? It seems like he's more after Paul Heyman. Look, they were going after the Usos, and we already saw that match a couple years ago. i mean, it'll be fine. I'm sure they could improve on what they did at ah WrestleMania 39, but I think we're getting Seth and Brock, or... don't man. They're still...
00:25:37
Speaker
ah seth's in a weird spot because he's like you know he he's suddenly like the hottest baby face of a company man so the vision i don't know what to do with him the vision multiverse has really turned into like a marvel thing like there's just too many like branches to clip on it like no i'm serious dude there's like 80 different ways they can take any of this like it just yeah it feels strong like kind of a member kind of not a member and then yeah Like, dude, when they added Austin Theory, that just convoluted it even more. It's like, damn, there is just like when all these guys come back. It's a cursed faction, bro. Yeah, just just kill it. Like, just take Paul Heyman off TV and watching him come out with just Logan Paul and Austin Theory. just There's just something not right about it. Like, it just feels really weird him coming out those two guys only.
00:26:21
Speaker
Yeah. All, like Sheena said, all time of a cursed faction, man, just really stinks that we didn't get to kind of see exactly what it could be. Cause it was, it was awesome at SummerSlam when Seth came out and won the belt and stuff, man. Um, felt like we was probably going to end up getting Seth and Braun for a championship at Mania. Do we see Trick Williams, uh,
00:26:38
Speaker
at WrestleMania. Oh, yeah. he has to have a hes Yeah, he's he's, you know, they're going to probably turn in babyface somehow. do maybe Maybe you do a little double turn with him and Carmelo and run back Trick and Carmelo at Mania for the U.S. Championship. But yeah, Trick's red hot. He's been in the main event of every PLE that he's been on since he got called up. So, yeah, I don't think they're...
00:27:00
Speaker
We have four confirmed matches for Mania right now. um I'll run it down for you guys. we We're all fast food lovers here, man. We'll do ah we do Taco Bell sauces, man, for our for our hype level for all of them. So you guys tell me if, I'll name the match. You guys tell me if you are Diablo, Fire, Hot, or Mouth, okay? Okay. And we'll ah we'll go from there. So we'll start off with previously mentioned Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill.
00:27:28
Speaker
Mild. Mild and they forgot the sauce in the bag. Yeah, I'm mild for this one. Yeah. We'll go as it's booked right now, although I think all of us are expecting some some extra some extra cheese on this Whopper. Drew versus Randy.
00:27:45
Speaker
I'll say I'm hot on this one just because I do feel like this is going to end up being some sort of multi-man extravaganza. And I'm kind of interested to see how they how they get from point A to point B and make it happen.
00:27:57
Speaker
I'm hot on this one. I might add it i might add a a drop or two of fire. You know what i mean? like If Jacob gets in there, could be fire. but yeah Jacob winning the belt would be a moment. Yeah, I'd go hot as well. ah Liv and Stephanie.
00:28:13
Speaker
This is tough because... don't know. I'll say I'm hot on it. What's wrong? i think I'm hot. Yeah, I think it'll be good. Yeah. You can have Raquel on the outside being the diesel to Liv Sean. Yeah, i think I think it could be good, man. I think Steph's winning. I don't think Liv has a hope in hell of winning this belt from her, but I do think they're going to put on, dude. I think Liv's going to out. don't know, dude. I feel like Liv Morgan could win. I don't think they're changing both women's belts and Jade is not winning.
00:28:37
Speaker
Well, that's true. That's true. Stephanie Vacker is red hot, bro. She's got a ways to go, but she's rising up there, closing the gap on Rhea for like their most popular woman. She's beloved by the by the men and the women in the audience. Yeah, I think I'm mild. I feel like Liv is due. I think I'm mild on this. I like both of these women a lot, but I just do not see a chance that Liv wins this match and it kind of kills it for me.
00:29:01
Speaker
And we'll we'll go main event Roman and CM Punk, man. I'll let you guys ah discuss the match and discuss what we thought of that Raw segment tonight. I will say I'm hot on this um with a touch of fire because I always love to see Roman at WrestleMania, right? Like, I mean, I'm never, I'm always going to be hot for a Roman because some crazy stuff's going to go down. Um,
00:29:24
Speaker
I feel like this could be really bad, though. I feel like this could really expose ah CM Punk in a way that, I don't know, okay that he's not that he's not prepared for.
00:29:35
Speaker
no see, and that's like, I think everybody is just like out of the box, like on fire about this match. And don't get me wrong, I think it's going to be good, but that's the thing I worry about. It's going to draw fans. That's the thing I worry about too is like is this where like we see like the the age of CM Punk show up and like dude Roman's no spring chicken either him carrying a match at this point is not the easiest thing ever for him either so like I am excited for this match like it is the biggest money match they can do I mean Sans getting the rock to come back and wrestle against Roman but
00:30:07
Speaker
This is the biggest money match they can do, but don't know. I was fire on this like last week. Was it last week or two weeks? Two weeks. Yeah, two weeks. I was excited about it after the rumble, but then like this week on Raw, didn't hit they tried to get this like we were talking about before the show man i really think that first segment was so pitch perfect dude like i don't think we need to see him again dude maybe do a contract signing on the raw before and that's it man this is one of those ones that like dude they already laid all the track on that first one There was nothing left to be said. They made the graphic. It'll sell tickets. Like, we don't need to hear anymore. Yeah. If you want to keep hyping it, man, go HBK and Sean for WrestleMania 12. You remember that, Jordan, how all the hype for that was basically like those videos of them training and stuff. You know, you had Sean Michaels training down with Jose Lothario in San Antonio. You had Brett jogging on the ice in Calgary, like two miles per hour and stuff because the ground was frozen. Yeah. Yeah, dude. I...
00:31:02
Speaker
I think do something like that. You know what I mean? do Make it like UFC style, you know, give us like some little mini documentaries each week. Exactly. There you go. Yeah. I think you, one hundred percent I agree with you. I think they need to stagger like ones on raw one week, the next week, the other ones I'm like, dude,
00:31:17
Speaker
Tonight was a complete fumble and they can't afford to have that happen again. Like, yeah, like everybody's going you next to your father. And you know, I was like, and it was, it was fine. Roma was tripping over his words and CM Punk was just kind of ah a little bit clunky and they were all being a little bit over animated, but I was like, okay, this is fine. It's whatever. It's not what it was a couple of or a few weeks ago, but like it's whatever. And then CM Punk has to come and close the segment. with um I'm not just going to beat you. I'm going to bury you. Pause next to your father. You could just, you could tell within like 30 or 45 seconds that the the same energy and like that little crack of electricity wasn't there at this time. And it's like both of them were just struggling to kind of like find the pitch.
00:32:00
Speaker
and The crowd wasn't helping. Yeah. The crowd wasn't great. And then I think Punk, was I'm assuming, I got to assume that was an ad lib line and he was just thinking like, what can I say here to put an exclamation point it? It's like someone know will get a reaction. even though it makes no sense you know with anything that's come before this felt like there was a lot of repeated lines too from the one after the rumble like it just kind of felt like they were digging up the same shit again and then when Punk said the who's we one of your Samoan goblins or something in your pants I was like Jesus Christ we're off the rails on this one I did to declare yeah I do declare.
00:32:33
Speaker
do declare. yeah Like I said, we you know it didn't totally ruin the anticipation for the match, but definitely I think we need less is more out of the two of them face-to-face. tweet now me yeah I say highlight like the history. Like you said, make the little the little mini docs and stuff. That's what they do best anyways. man We're going to have a tug of war for the belt that Monday right before WrestleMania. Oh, God. And then it accidentally dropped the belt. sit Stop, dudes. Hey, that led to one of the best Mania matches of the last 10 years, though, man. Yeah, you're not wrong, but I mean, you did have the moment of the cash-in, which that's not obviously happening at this one, so
00:33:09
Speaker
I remember talking the week before we flew out to San Francisco, we're talking about WrestleMania 31. If you want to see an awful final build segment, watch Roman and Brock to close the raw before May 31. I remember me and George talking on the phone. And yeah, we were talking about how we were bummed that like, this is the mania we're going to. Cause it was all you heard was worst build ever. And then is gonna be the worst mania of all time. It ended up being like a sleeper top 10 mania. You know what I mean? For me it's top five. Cause I personally love it, but it was great. That's the last heater mania that was good from beginning to end. It was so good. There was no on it at all.
00:33:42
Speaker
It was no fluff. It was one one night. It was an open air stadium. West Coast. You got to see the transition from daytime to nighttime. Yes, bro. so many So much awesome stuff about that mania, dude. Yeah, so it ended up working out. We're about six weeks out. Let's call it right now. what what do you guys think? Who's winning, Roman or Punk?
00:34:04
Speaker
Roman. Roman. i want it to be Roman, but i really think Punk ends up winning. No way, dude. You know what? I can't get out of my head. i feel like Roman wins clean, but... We know Mania is in Saudi next year. They're going to back up the Brinks truck, whatever number it is.
00:34:21
Speaker
I would not be surprised if we see them hit the WrestleMania 27 playbook and The Rock shows up to cost Roman the match and set up Roman and Rock for Mania next year. Dude, i'm I'm telling you, there's just like a weird feeling like because Roman's already said he doesn't want to do full time. And I just feel like now they've set the precedent with Cody, CM Punk, all these guys that they want. the channel their bill They want the champ there every week. They want it on display on Netflix. like i just I don't see it. I really don't. like And you guys know how I feel about CM Punk. like I don't want this fucking dude to win. I definitely don't want to pin Roman.
00:34:56
Speaker
I just have a weird feeling he wins. I don't know why. I just i feel like that's what we're moving towards. I'm calling rock. We get a rock assist to help CM Punk land And the other thing about it is, dude, like I love the World Heavyweight Championship and the lineage that they've established in the last, you know, almost three years now with it. But like, honestly, dude, like that belt's kind of beneath Roman. yeah We already saw Roman have ah either one of the belts. Honestly, Roman is like above the belts at this point, man. Whatever he's doing is always going to be like the most interesting thing on the card. um But, you know, what's he going to do? We already saw you.
00:35:26
Speaker
be the champ for four years. Obviously, you're not going to do that again. So it just feels like it's just, you know, taking away an opportunity from somebody else. If he's champ again, we need to see Roman just having huge, big money matches to keep him away from the title picture, especially if we're only going to see him, you know, a couple dozen times a year. Yeah. And there's so many damn good people on Raw to like, like we talked about Braun already, like he's going to get a title shot eventually, like Seth's going to get a title shot again. i just, I don't know, man. it just It just feels like we're headed towards CM Punk keeps winning.
00:35:56
Speaker
Yeah, I think so too, man. I think somehow another CM Punk finds a way to get the win. God, what a disgusting segment that was. ah You guys ready?

AEW Scene & Elimination Chamber Outcomes

00:36:07
Speaker
We have a super stuffed listener mailbag. um We'll do real quick AEW touch point. I'm loving the AEW main event scene with MJF with just multiple sharks in the water. ah what what I know Sheena hasn't been watching too much. Jordan, what's your thoughts right now on AEW?
00:36:21
Speaker
Dude, I... it's crazy to me because like i kind of just i fell off a little bit on watching it and then i went back and watched a lot of the shows that i didn't watch like dude i feel like their weekly tv is so good right now and cooking bro like dude every week it seems like they cook up something better than the week before i still i know the last pay-per-view wasn't exactly what everybody wanted to see but Dude, their weekly television is so good right now. Yeah. they' been To the point to where like if we wake up like one day and just out of nowhere, they're like, hey, you know what? Because this Warner Brothers sale, AEW's closing up shop. I would be like, damn, that makes sense because they've been going out with a bang, bro. like Just giving us like Swerve and Kenny Omega on a random Wednesday night, man. That match was so good.
00:37:04
Speaker
Yeah, some of these matches we're getting on the weekly TV on AEW are just unreal. and um what's your What's your vibes on this Revolution main event, man? MJF and Hangman. If hang man Hangman threw the Cody stipulation out there, if he loses, he can ah he can never challenge for the belt again.
00:37:21
Speaker
i don't know. Dude, it feels weird that they're doing this this stipulation again, especially with another guy like that. But, dude, I don't see MJF losing the belt already. like So something he said that was weird, man. You know I always got the crazy booking ideas, dude. He said that I won't be able to challenge for the belt for the rest of my life. I was thinking, what if MJF uses the Hangman gimmick and hangs him with the chain, and he gets pronounced clinically dead, but then they revive him, dude. Is that satisfying? Would that satisfy the conditions stipulation to allow Hangman Page to still fight the dude? They shock him back to life and restart the match. Yeah, because he did say, won't be able to challenge for the rest of my life, dude. So maybe he loses by getting choked out because he's actually dead. That's how they get around it, dude. Because...
00:38:09
Speaker
How else do you keep Hangman we're going for the belt? It's got to be like a DQ finish or something, dude. It's a Texas death match, though, dude. Yeah, you send him to WWE and he becomes the biggest star. Like, dude, Hangman's still under contract for a long time in AEW. Like, that's why just... I don't see how they...
00:38:27
Speaker
i don't know Just give him the belt back. You can always do that too, you man. I'm in favor of, with all the long title rings we've seen the last couple years, I'm all about little hot potato. i yeah give it Give it back to him, and then let's let Kenny get it back. Let's run back Kenny and Hangman. Everybody's on borrowed time until Ospreay comes back anyways. but yeah Once ah All Out happens, Ospreay's winning the title. It doesn't matter who yeah has it. They're just holding it for him.
00:38:51
Speaker
Yeah, maybe maybe maybe that's what it is. Maybe we're thinking about this too much, and it's just Hangman's going to win this belt back, dude. and Dude. Yeah, I think that works, man. You could run back Hangman and Ospreay. That's a totally valid main event for for All Out, man, if Hangman gets this belt back right now. No, you got to have Kenny beat Hangman and then a Kenny and Ospreay at Out. That would be awesome, dude.
00:39:11
Speaker
That would be all. Hey, one thing we didn't talk about on Elimination Chamber. I think we got some listener mail. Okay, we're going to cover it. Yes. yeah Very evil. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, all right. Let me hit the music and let's get in the mailbag.
00:39:31
Speaker
All right. Our first piece of mail comes in from our buddy, Zach Herzler. He says, do you think WWE needs to add house shows for the wrestlers to get some ring time? Because I've noticed in the last several years, we've seen superstars getting injured more often than previous years.
00:39:46
Speaker
Um, I don't, you know, I don't, obviously I don't have the statistics on this. i would have to ask my resident statistician, but I don't feel like, I mean, I feel like we've seen injuries a lot. I would, I'm not so much worried about the injury standpoint. I should bring them back just to give,
00:40:02
Speaker
Dude, run some of these like B and C level towns and give an affordable ticket. even got to have Cody Rhodes on it, dude. Let the main event be Jacob Batu against you know whoever, dude. Just give kids a w WWE live experience, dude. Yeah, the house shows, they were a loss leader for years, but Vince McMahon was a big believer that like you make lifetime fans out of those things, right? like And I agree with you. know I don't agree with Vince on everything, but I agree with him that. There was a handful of things that even in his late years, man, Vince was 100% right on, dude. But yeah, he... yeah He just knew you made... Not putting ads on the ring, Matt. Yeah, you just made enterprise-level fans, dude, by doing those freaking house shows, man. Yeah, shit, going to some of those house shows when I was a kid, and it was like $12 to go. And, I mean, you got to see everybody on those shows. Like, dude, was only chance we got, especially now. Like, I can't even imagine being a parent with, like, five kids now and trying to take your kid. You don't go. Yeah, you just don't. I have one kid, and I don't want to take her to go see it. It's too expensive. Yeah.
00:40:58
Speaker
yeah you know we're as into it as anybody man we' raw was in memphis couple weeks back we never even got much above like the idea phase of of going to a dude just because you know it's a raw tv taping which isn't the most fun thing to go to anyways man and i'm like dude for what it's worth we're just not gonna get our money's worth it's here two weeks after wrestlemania and i'm like it odd Yeah, we were like, you know, we're going to look at the card. if it feels like it, you know, we'll we'll pull the trigger. But it was just like, you know. There was nothing on the card that was making me feel like I needed to be there first to see it. Yeah.
00:41:29
Speaker
um But as far as injuries go, i mean, a lot of the top stars and stuff that are injured, I mean, they're not spring chickens anymore, right? Like they're, they're crashing in on their forties. You know, I was, I was glorifying the forties earlier, but you know, as a professional athlete, forties is, is pushing it. You know what i mean? Like, and guys are staying with the company for so much longer. Yeah. You were talking yesterday, dude, Liv Morgan's been with WWE longer than Bret Hart was, man. Yeah. Think about that, dude. Her run is longer than Brett the Hitman Hearts run with the company was, man. And it felt like Brett was there forever, you know? Yeah. um Yeah, so I just... i think that You only have so many bumps on your bump card, you know? And then some something catastrophic is going to happen, dude. your Your spine and your neck and your your joints, your wrists and ankles, they can only take so much. Your knees... um So yeah, I feel that once you've been for certain, once you've been there for a certain period of time, you're literally just on, on borrowed time. I think if i fall down in the yard, you might just have to fucking call somebody and just have them call it.
00:42:26
Speaker
Oh man. Zach also said, he said, not a question, but a statement. I just miss hearing you guys on the pod. Happy you all are recording. And Sam Rosenthal said, I second this. So thanks guys. Thanks dudes. We love, we love your support. And you know, you guys are, you guys are hardcore fans and we appreciate you all. ah Mac Carpation says With Punk and Roman's first promo Lighting a fire under everyone Do you think Roman shows up weekly To build for Wrestlemania Because that will put butts in seats i think he's I think he's got like four or five more dates man I think he's going to be at most of the Raw Between now and then But they got a pivot from what we saw tonight did tonight was That was just a dud all the way around man
00:43:03
Speaker
Yeah, and like we said, it felt even worse because they followed freaking Penta's match. There was a big high energy match and a feel-good moment for Penta. Great match, great storyline beats for the Judgment Day. Then, yeah, we have Roman and Sam. Yeah, we get the closing credits with, but next to your father. When overbooking goes bad.
00:43:24
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Yikes. um Tyson Neal Trevino, TNT says, how do you see Seth Rollins Road to Mania playing out?

WrestleMania Ticket Concerns & WWE Rumors

00:43:33
Speaker
We kindt we kind of touched on it, um you know, but Matthew. Now, the one silver lining would be if they keep doubling down.
00:43:41
Speaker
on Roman and Punk, and they just keep shitting the bed out there, there's still room for Seth to get injected in that, bro. Like, these are his two, you know, his two biggest rivals. His mortal enemies, yeah. You can't tell me that he's not, as pissed off as he is at Paul Heyman, you can't tell me he's not also paying attention to his two mortal enemies, main eventing Night 2. And they basically brought him up tonight. Keep in mind, he beat both those guys last year in the main event of WrestleMania, man. So maybe if it really goes downhill, they pull the break glass in case of emergency and Seth gets inserted back into this. If we have two multi-man matches for the two biggest titles in WWE, we have really gone off the rails bad. Yeah, because that's always a booking sheet. That's cop-out.
00:44:21
Speaker
Yeah. Cause you know, it's going to be entertaining. It's going to, it's going to entertain the live event, but it's so it's never, it never hits the same storyline. yeah You gotta to have just like one winner. Like it was mano a mano. Like, you know, so the best man one. It's a new era. It's going be all multi-man matches.
00:44:37
Speaker
Yeah. That was, it was that what they did last year with night one at mania with Roman Seth and punk. That's very rare that you get the stars to align for a triple threat like that, man. Um, But yeah, I'm i'm thinking Lesnar right now, dude. I don't know. yeah I'm thinking Lesnar or maybe, like I said, Braun's not hurt quite as bad as we thought he was and ah he's able to come back. but I'm thinking Braun or Lesnar. I feel like maybe Logan Paul's got to be like plan C right now for Seth.
00:45:02
Speaker
Hmm. Are you excited to see Rollins and Lesnar? Yeah. I mean, um obsess yeah I think all three of those would be good matches, dude. I mean, i I worry about how motivated Brock's going to be to do much, man. Brock doesn't strike me as really having any interest in going out and putting on matches of the nights anymore. You know, that 2020 pre-run he had with Cody, he seemed like he was super motivated. I feel like since he's come back this time, it's just, you know, let me show up, play the hits, get paid, and and hit the showers. Have Cody in LA night eliminate me while the camera's not on me.
00:45:30
Speaker
Yeah. Oh, yeah, exactly. I seriously don't think Brock's into it at all, dude. I think it's just a paycheck. I think he's cashing checks, man. It's still cool seeing him, dude. But I, you know, once the bell rings with Brock, it's like, yeah, I don't know, dude. So hope I just hope that that does come to pass. Hopefully Seth stomps his big lunchbox head into the mat like he did at WrestleMania 35, man, and caught a day.
00:45:51
Speaker
All right, Johnny JB, do you think TKO will adjust ticket prices for wwe WWE to be more affordable? A lot of their shows are not selling out, and there's been online chatter that WrestleMania tickets are selling very slowly.
00:46:02
Speaker
Yeah, but it doesn't matter because they just have their second largest gate in Chicago on Saturday. They do not care. You know, always get so pissed off when they're like, oh, it's this it's this. When they start announcing that stuff online and stuff. I'm like, so basically you're just telling people like, yes, we got more of your money. you know like And the fans cheer, dude. Yes, the fans cheer like, thank you for taking our money. We've more money than any crowd ever, dude. Yeah, the fans.
00:46:28
Speaker
Depending where you look, they're about 15% to 20% behind the pace that they were at last year for Mania sales. They tapped out the local market, bro. I didn't do the math on this to verify. I did see a tweet earlier last week from a pretty reliable source on Twitter. They said that even if WWE doesn't sell one more ticket for WrestleMania, it's still going to go down as the highest grossing show in of pro wrestling That just makes me feel so gross. Without selling another ticket six weeks out, they've already broke the record for WrestleMania.
00:46:56
Speaker
most money in ticket sales ever. I cannot. I don't know who's going to these shows, man. like yeah I feel like, to me, No offense if you any of our listeners are going to the show. Yeah, more power to you, dude. Yeah, I understand WrestleMania is a bucket list type thing for so many people, dude. like I 100% get it. If I had no responsibilities, I'd go too, man. um Or, you know, if I had enough money where it didn't matter, dude, know I could be irresponsible with it. I would go. But yeah, like because to me, like WWE is not really something that like is everywhere. It's like super rich people.
00:47:26
Speaker
They would be paying for these tickets. But i don't know. Maybe the maybe the audience has changed, man. And it's become like a luxury brand all of a sudden. But I don't get it, man. i Like I said, I love this. I know how much I love this stuff and how much I would love to go to some of these shows. And the prices are a complete turnoff to me, man, to make me not even want to like, be like, you know, maybe we just cut back a couple weeks, dude. We make it happen. Yeah. You're, you're, mean, you're probably, you're definitely the biggest wrestling fan that I know. Lifelong wrestling fan. And you're also like, you know, not a miser. You know what like yeah't thing We could afford it yeah It's just the value is not there. that's yeah That's it to me. I'm okay with paying.
00:48:00
Speaker
for stuff right like yeah yeah i wanted to go to raw we could have went to raw but i'm just like why would i spend it's not worth the time and effort that i put in to make this amount of money yeah and if it was just me you know like maybe but i mean when i when you're talking about taking four four people to a raw like it's just like quick yeah um i don't see them the only way they're not gonna lower it if they stop making money man they're gonna keep they're gonna push it to the edge yeah if they can keep having enough people pay this to to where they're hitting whatever you know the They're going for a dollar amount, right? they um They have a dollar amount set for each show. That's what they want to get. And if they can hit that, by if they can get one person to pay $5 million dollars for a ticket, they'll fucking do it. You know what mean? They'll put it on a show for one person, man. I think it's it's strict it's straight up, man, just dollars and cents. They could care of less about filling the house or anything like that, Dude, there was a couple of years there that I was traveling to at least one pay-per-view a year. And now I don't remember that. Because this week is when Stand and Deliver goes on sale. And it's in St. Louis. It's two weeks before Mania. And I'm like, dude, I mean, it probably won't be ridiculous, but it's probably still going to be ah to a point where I'm like, I'm not paying that much to go to it. Yeah.
00:49:04
Speaker
I mean, dude, think about it. We went to a huge SummerSlam, dude, in Nashville, Nissan yeah Stadium, Tourist City, yeah freaking Brock and Roman in the main event. And that was like nothing, dude. Like you could barely get into a Raw for what we got really, really great seats for SummerSlam for, man. You know what I mean? like those those seats those seats Like you barely get in the building now, man, for what we paid for really good seats. And that was just not even four years ago, man. Yeah, those were like $250 a piece, I think. And now for $250, you're sitting on the roof.
00:49:30
Speaker
And those seats were stellar, yeah you know? like Yeah, you fell asleep in them. Well, I mean, that wasn't because WrestleMania era, because SummerSlam sucked. It was great. It was just, you know, we had we had a long a long day. Glizzy brought you back to life. you Listen, a freaking stadium glizzy is like why like, it will give you life when you need it. So ah yeah, Jordan came back with a freaking. After two matches.
00:49:55
Speaker
a grip of glizzies and just started passing them out and we all, we all came back to life. So yeah, I got to see Brock drive a freaking, you know, front loader down to the, uh, you know, down to the ring. So good times.
00:50:07
Speaker
Um, any more thoughts on, Lowering ticket prices. I don't think i don't think it's going to happen, dude. It sucks. The train's left the station. The train has left the station, yeah. um so Unless this rumor there's a rumor out there that Vince is leading a group along with the Saudis and is going to buy back WWE from TKO. Honestly, buy That could lower prices here, bro, because if Saudi gets it, they want it just for the image. they could give a theyll They'll give away the tickets for free, man. You know what I mean? like ah They'll still be charging something to make some money off of it to pay the bills, but it becomes a a political thing instead of a for-profit thing at that point, man. Vince might be โ€“ I mean, how about that? Vince riding a white horse over the hill to come save all the wrestling fans.
00:50:48
Speaker
What an awkward spot. That'll put us in, man. If Vince comes back, Obafemi's to have the belt for the next 25 years. yeah Yeah, but the one thing to know is just if you're if you're in any kind of situation where suddenly Vince McMahon is going to be the hero of the whole deal, things are cooked. Or Saudi Arabia, yeah. yeah We're fucked. If Vince is hero, we're hoping to come save That's when you've got to start wondering if you're the villain. are we Yeah, exactly. I'm like, are we the problem? Yeah. we the problem Um, so, uh, Phil Dunnett across, all oh, Uncle Phil. Yeah. A notorious pervert, Phil Dunnett said, uh, do adults who think Dan Housen is entertaining have brain injuries? And I'll add on the Charles Johnson's question. He said another question tied danhauser yeah and tied to Dan Housen, but not really. He said more towards expectations. Why do you all, uh, why do you all think that mystery and wrestling just blows up people's minds?
00:51:40
Speaker
You just can't help but go to the wildest thing. You know what mean? Like, ah you know, what's what's in the box is going to be the ghost of Hulk Hogan or something. You know what I mean? Like, that's it's always been like that, dude. I remember after, I think it was WrestleMania 34 when Braun Strowman's mystery opponent was Nicholas, the little kid.

WWE Hall of Fame & Nostalgia

00:51:54
Speaker
I was just like, why why do we ever get our hopes up for these things, dude? Like, these surprises, you know, the the Undertaker hit at SummerSlam or Survivor Series 1990. Other than that, these mystery opponent, mystery reveal things,
00:52:06
Speaker
Or almost always a wet fart, dude. Do you want to know how WWE only cares about money? They brought in Dan Housen. That's how you know that they only care about money. No merch mover, dude. He's got a huge following online. Dude, number one selling t-shirt immediately. I love Dan Housen. Don't get me wrong. I do love him. He has no place in WWE as an actual wrestler, though. Like... Yeah, I agree. i don't think he's doing anything. I think he's just going to be backstage. just call I mean, he he literally, he he cost Dominic Mysterio his match tonight. Awesome. cur Yeah, awesome debut on Raw. Curse nom Dom. Dom goes out loses. I think that was a great way to establish the character. Dude, you know what I see for Dan Housen, man? Like, best case scenario?
00:52:41
Speaker
He becomes the new R-Truth, man. Like, R-Truth's getting up there, dude. Like, he he could totally do what R-Truth does. he due This dude is funny yeah and talented and stuff, man. um He's a hell of a character. But it it is weird. you know He's like a ah niche thing of pro wrestling, which is already a niche. so But you know I like what he did on Raw tonight, man. I thought, dude, a lot of people were hating the debut. I heard a pop, man. Maybe I'm just crazy. I heard a pop when he came out. It faded when people realized that he was just going to be dangerous. He wasn't getting in the rain. I think he sucks. And then the other thing, which even I was like, oh, man, that sucks. You know when the lights went out at the end of that thing?
00:53:18
Speaker
I thought something else was happening. I thought Jericho was coming out, dude. When he got to the middle ring and then the lights went out, i was like, okay, here comes Jericho. You know what mean? Dan Housen was like the fake out and stuff. And now we're getting Y2J bagged. I think that's when all the boos came in when people realized like, oh, the lights are going out just the segment. Yeah, it was just to end the segment. I thought it was cool. I mean, I thought it was fine. I mean, I don't know what I expected, you know. End of the day, pro wrestling is about, you know, eyeballs and interest. He's number one selling...
00:53:41
Speaker
shirt on uh on ww shop right now and then dude go to ww.com's feed look at the videos from elimination chamber man all like the highlight clips and stuff from the uh the chamber match those all have like 300 400 think the the finish it has like 500 000 views the video um of dan housing out of the box has 4.9 million views right now dude so definitely some interest there man like i said he's got he's got a ton of fans from outside the world of wrestling also um His wife's like a well-known burlesque dancer and stuff, man. no vious And I think i think i saw that she was uh actually one of the dancers man for his uh his interest so like i said man people definitely need to manage their expectations um i but i think he could totally be a ah cool part of the backstage something similar to to our truth i i think so too dude and i i didn't hate it i was like i mean i was just glad it was something i was expecting worse so when dan hausen came out i was like okay like he was we met him at memphis wrestling at the halloween show 2034 he was super nice super cool Very friendly with Brett. He signed Brett's picture as ah you know to Brett Housen, so he's he's always got a thumbs up from me, man. You never even catch any Dan Housen hate from All right, so Dan Housen's debut on WWE 775K views.
00:54:55
Speaker
CM Punk's Jordan entrance has 769K, and Rollins has 1.3 million. Hold up, man. let me I'll show you. I was on you on YouTube, or what are you on? I was looking on Twitter.
00:55:07
Speaker
Yeah, i was looking on Twitter. I know, but I always use YouTube just because I feel like that's where I want. I mean, yeah, I get what you're saying. Just a quick highlight on Twitter is obviously going to get way more views. yeah Still, that's a still certainly that's a lot. Still a lot of eyeballs, man. yeah clearlyly people People are definitely interested in Dan Housen, and he's going to move merch, man. I'm sure Mattel's priority got a couple things in the works, man, to fast track it to figure out. Tony had a Dan Housen. So Tony Barker, he said, how far can Dan Housen go in WWE? To me, he was perfect for AEW, but I struggle to see him ascend in WWE. No, I think he's going to be a good comedy.
00:55:38
Speaker
i think going to have some fun segments backstage and stuff and do that. If anybody's thinking this dude's, you know, going to win the 2027 world rumble they're setting themselves up for disappointment barring barring them resuscitating the 24 7 championship i i'll call it right now dan hausen never holds gold in wwe i agree yeah um speaking of aew sam rosenthal says will we ever see another aew video game and are you getting wwe 2k 26 yeah 2k 26 already installed just waiting for it to go live on uh midnight thursday night miss you already know that uh i mean dude aew fight forever had some really fun things man they just had really crappy post game support yeah the servers are really bad right Well, it was originally going to be like a Fortnite-style game where they just do one game and then do updates to it. But it just, you know, it didn't quite get, think, the player base. There wasn't enough there when it came out. It got delayed for so long. They announced it too early. It got delayed forever. And then a lot the stuff was out of date by the time it came out. You know, like CM Punk was a huge part of the game, and he was already gone or on his way out. Just some bad timing and bad luck with it. I don't think it was as bad as everybody It wasn't...
00:56:48
Speaker
as bad of a game as people make it out to be. There was a lot of fun to be had and it some really cool stuff to be. it And it was a totally different kind of game from WWE 2K. But I don't know, man, that the stank on it was very bad, right? I think people really turned off from all the promises that were made when it came out, you know. um And AEW is obviously, you know, it's still got its hardcore fan base, but I i feel like the audience for AEW is shrinking. So I'd be skeptical, man. um I'd love it if it came out. I'm willing to give them another shot because I did like a lot of the things that Fight Forever did. but I i doubt we see another game, at least in the next couple of years.
00:57:21
Speaker
yeah agreed. Are you getting 2K26, Jordan? No. You i barely read much a two k play I didn't think you played. ah i we did had a i bought hand I bought two of them, and I just, I don't know. did just well I barely have time to fucking play video games anymore. anyway I know. You you you know i don't need radio but gave up on us on Fortnite, dude. I seriously don't even remember the last time I logged into Fortnite. to be complete I think it was around Christmas. like i just I don't have time to play video games right now, unfortunately.
00:57:50
Speaker
Jordan, remember when y'all came here for WrestleMania 39 and we had one of the all-time greatest wrestling video game moments ever did? We were doing... 2K23 had just come out. And I want to say I had Seth and he had Gunther.
00:58:03
Speaker
And Jordan hit the mechanic to have a run-in, dude. He had Imperium run-in. yeah. And the guys would bash me in the head with a chair. And I... I did the Roman Reigns like 2.99 kick out, dude. Like, but I was like, Oh my God. Like, cause Jordan never plays. And you know, I play all the time, dude. and we're just you know like We're doing it for fun. And he damn near beat me, dude. time we thought each said man Yeah. Good times.
00:58:24
Speaker
All right. Our buddy, Nathan says with demolition, joining the 2026 hall of fame, who else would you like to see in this year's class? And what would be the 2026 hall of fame's immortal moment?
00:58:37
Speaker
Hunter chimed in and said yeah he wants Michael Cole in the Hall of Fame. It's deserving. I think that's more of like a once he hangs up the mic. Yeah. good night um I mean, Dynamite Kid's probably like the biggest like missing one right now to me. um But I don't think he's going go in because he's a little bit problematic. I was going to say, yeah, the drama there probably. I don't know, dude. I've kind of been out on the WWE Hall. yeah You guys know my thoughts on it, dude. Yeah, we've discussed it at length. It needs a full reboot, dude. yeah i need i think I think it could be something really, really cool, dude. Like a legit pro wrestling Hall of Fame would be awesome. But the WWE Hall of Fame gotten so off the rails, dude. They've done so much wonky shit just to get people on the show and to make it a make it something that people watch on TV.
00:59:20
Speaker
Then it has no credibility, dude. Demolition, that it makes no difference to me whether they're in the Hall of Fame or not, dude. Right, they're in your own personal Hall of Fame. yeah I don't think anything more or less of demolition than I did this time yesterday before they were in the Hall of Fame. so I do think it's kind of whack. It's crazy enough, man. He's on our screen right now. We're watching... We're watching SummerSlam 92. It's actually nuts, dude, that this question came up. So I fired up SummerSlam 92, Jordan, right when we started recording just to have something on the TV. ah Repo Man and Crush are in the ring right now. which You guys know Repo Man was Demolition and Smash, dude. So we actually have two members of Demolition. I think Crush deserves to go in with him, dude.
00:59:57
Speaker
ah what What do you think? I know the their run was brief at the end, but I so i still always think of the three-man Demolition. yeah It should be all three of them. agree. Absolutely. smart because Because last year was the first year they they put a match in the Hall of Fame, right?
01:00:09
Speaker
That was the first one. Dude, you have to do Hogan and Warrior this year, I feel like. I agree. I feel like that's the next one that has to go in. Yeah. I'd say that that. You could do him and Warrior or him and Andre. I think either one, dude. Both of those two got to go in here. The first like five or six times they do this. and yeah I think either one of those would be ah would be solid. Do they still do the Warrior Award? Yeah, still do the Warrior Award. Unfortunately.
01:00:33
Speaker
Yeah, well, I'm at it. Yeah, it's, yeah. That's one of those things, you know, talked about Vince being right about a few things. That was one thing Warrior was 100% right on what he wanted to do. It would have been so cool. He said he needs to go somebody behind the scenes. Yeah, they turned it into a charity PR moment. Yeah, non-profit type money grab.
01:00:51
Speaker
who Yeah. I think either, I will go either one of the Hogan moments, man, either him and Andre or or him and a Warrior, man. Yeah. Yeah, um I'm still in favor of there being a physical WWE Hall of Fame. or it doesn't Like I said, I think it should be ah a roaming attraction. I think it should be. Because they're setting up they're literally setting up a thing called Netflix House. we I just saw it tonight. I never even heard of that. WWE Hall of Fame. de Yeah. Well, no, it doesn't to be part of that, but it could be like, ah it just needs to be like a thing that comes to your city. You know what i mean? Like it needs to be like. I think Universal Studios, dude. I think that's where we need it, man. I think Universal Studios. Universal would be money. yeah goes there and they already Like I said, dude, they have the longstanding relationship with NBC Universal. i Don't know if a WWE Hall of Fame could stand alone on its own, but as a part of, you know, you've been walking around the hot park all day. All of a sudden, oh, here's the Hall of Fame. We got to catch some AC and check out some of this stuff, man. yeah yeah Maybe get a WWE themed roller coaster can to go along with it. You know, the road to WrestleMania. As far as like who else I think is going to get into the Hall of Fame this year. I think this might be the year we get two women. I think we might get Steph and AJ Lee. I feel like AJ Lee is going to go in now. AJ would be cool, dude. Really? Will they do AJ Lee and AJ Styles the same year? Could you have too much AJ? Could get out AJ'd.
01:02:05
Speaker
Yeah. But I feel like now you have to put her in. Now you have her back in the fold. I mean, yeah, I know CM Punk's going to be there for a while, but I mean, dude, who knows how long? I think she signed a multi-year contract, too. Yeah. I think she did, but it's limited dates. She's definitely, she's strictly a part-time. That's why always seen her handful of times since Russell Palooza. Can we take a quick intermission from the mail break, dude? Yeah. Something wanted to express feelings on, man, that I forgot to, we're talking about the show.
01:02:32
Speaker
Something, Nick Aldis and Pierce, they got to get together, bro, and come up with something before this time next year, man. Something must be done about the entrance and exit mechanism for the elimination chamber, dude. Every... Oh, my God. I feel like this has just become a thing the last three or four years, bro. When somebody gets eliminated, man, like, you got roll their ass out of there, dude. You know I Slap them, wake them up, pour cold water on them, get their ass of there, dude. They literally just leave the door hanging wide open. There's integrity to the chamber. Yeah. People have come in and out of the chamber the last couple man. They are coming and going. Yeah, dude. Like, that door stays open so freaking long. We have got to come up with a way to get people in and out of the chamber. Yeah, don't open the door until the person is at the door. How about they get eliminated roll back your pod, dude? Hey, guess what? You're done. Go sit in your pod. And you can exit from the pod. They need to have an entrance. They need to have a thing from the Just lift up the back part. That works. I was thinking, hey, kid in trouble. Go sit in the corner. You get to watch the rest of this match. The Undertaker

Reflecting on WWE's Past & Future

01:03:29
Speaker
just rips him through the ring.
01:03:31
Speaker
Honestly, dude, bring back Kane for that, dude. Let that be. We see Kane once a year, dude. Kane is like the, you know, he's the like the toll taker for the yeah Elimination Chamber. du You get eliminated, Kane pops up from under the freaking mat. And pulls you pulls you out. And rolls you out from under the ring, dude. Like that, I that i would never not pop for that, man. Yeah. But yeah, just I was just thinking about like, bro, that door stays open for f freaking ever, dude. Yeah, and it's the manilating. And it's not like on like the old school steel cage where it's a little like, you know, three foot wide. like six foot gate, bro. Yeah, Seth Rollins could have drove his freaking car into the ring to curb stomp Logan Paul. They have... They have ruined a little bit of the aesthetics of the Elimination Chamber with that, too. I'm in full agreement with you.
01:04:11
Speaker
Like, dude, why do we need all these outside interferences in an Elimination Chamber match? It's already enough going on. dude And they're leaning into it so much now. like it It happens at every Elimination Chamber event we get now.
01:04:24
Speaker
yeah It's because they have so many storylines to set up, so they're just like, ah, screw it. It's an easy card to play, dude. You know I mean? But yeah, you can totally see it. ah I mean, it's literally, it's been Seth Rollins last two years. Seth Rollins especially, dude. If you got a little the Nation Chamber match, if Seth's not participating, ban him from the arena, dude. The last two years, the match has ended with Seth Rollins coming and curb stomping somebody, dude.
01:04:43
Speaker
yeah um Yeah, man. So I just I was just thinking about that. We watched Jordan to kind of a little pregame before the show. We watched that first elimination chamber match. That match is so good, dude. Yeah, dude. It's just, dude, it's every match since then has been chasing that one, dude. That was the star power in there, all the moves. The old chamber, too, man, just looks so much more dangerous and just, like, hard. Well, you notice they did a countdown of the best chamber matches on the pre-show, but they didn't even include that one because they were like, no, like, we are, yeah, there's like, you can't even put that, yeah, we don't even want you thinking that that's number one because it's just, it's in a league of its own. It was awesome match, and then the ending with Shawn Michaels getting the belt back. That's up there for probably a top 10 pop of all time. That match is phenomenal. That is literally one of my favorite matches to watch.
01:05:30
Speaker
yeah like Dude, now you watch them, and it's like they created the little Tykes version of the Elimination Chamber. yeah Everything's added. yeah yeah but yeah yeah like said they like you know keep people safe yeah our son's 100 a modern wrestling fan though but he was captivated by that match too like he he was locked in watching that one man so yeah good stuff all right let's get back to the mailbag just had to i i know that's that's a valid that's yeah i was thinking about that at work today like bro like what what is what why are they taking so long to get people in and out of this thing man so yeah and they like you like you said they're swinging this big cattle gate open where it's just like you know no Tony Barker says, what are your MLB predictions for 2026? I have zero. i I, yeah, I don't do Can you tell us what and MLB stands for, Shane? Major League Baseball. okay um Yeah, I'm not dumb. Can you name five teams? Name five baseball teams. The Braves, the Reds, the... Yikes.
01:06:24
Speaker
Hold on, Yankees. Okay, two more. Is Astros a baseball team? I've literally seen you wear a shirt. There you go. there You knew i was โ€“ yeah, the the Chicago Cubs shirt. Yeah.
01:06:36
Speaker
I'll miss that shirt. I have i have no idea, dude, on any โ€“ The Dodgers are winning. and Dodgers. How did I forget the Dodgers? And going ruin baseball. White Sox. Yeah, Dodgers, White Sox. did they get somebody else, man? Yeah, they got Kyle Tucker, and then they got um one of the best closers, Edwin Diaz, in baseball. They're just โ€“ Every year it just ruins it more. Everybody's fully expecting the MLB to be locked out next year because it's just the Dodgers are deferring money for the next like 50 years. Like it's just it's the most ridiculous thing ever. so they basically they've they've got enough money and they've gamed enough to where the competitive balance is just totally out whack. The Yankees haven't been able to counter it, dude, or the Dodgers? they care do yankees now iday dude You could combine like six teams and they're not spending the money the Dodgers are spending. Like it's ridiculous.
01:07:22
Speaker
Does Tennessee have a Major League Baseball team? No. No. They have a Minor League. I'm Shohei Otani fan, dude. i think I think he's in the mix with like Brady and Jordan, dude. Depending on how long his run goes. Is that your Fortnite skin? Yeah. yeah dude he's like You remember that Brendan Fraser movie, The Scout? Yeah. He's that, dude. He's he's Steve Nebraska, but real life, dude. He's like... you know one of the best pitchers and one of the best hitters. No. What's your, what's your, what's your, I'm 100% with you. Like, dude, nobody ever thought, and granted, none of us got to watch him play, but nobody ever thought anybody would like touch what Babe Ruth did. And Otani's like exceeding it at this point. And just, it's wild to watch.
01:08:02
Speaker
All right, what we got next? yeah so whoa Jordan, give us a prediction, man, for the baseball fans are listening. What's the World Series, dude? Who wins it? Give us a World Series and an MVP pick, man. I'll go Dodgers over...
01:08:17
Speaker
Dodgers over Blue Jays again, because I do think Toronto's the second best team, and Shohei wins MVP again. Okay. All right, Sam Rosenthal says, how many more releases do you see with Jazzwares? Do you think any other company picks up the figs?
01:08:32
Speaker
yeah honestly the way this last series is scrapped together with just four figures i think they're like just you know the stuff that was already far along in production they're pushing out so yeah i'll be surprised if we get another full-on series after this man um they showed some more stuff for the vault we're getting the outrunners we're getting darby i'm still holding out hope man that it's still never been clear exactly whose side is breaking the agreement if it's jazz wears doesn't want to keep producing aw or if aw's looking for some you know doesn't quite like to deal with jazz wears i'm holding out hope they can wreck Arkansas, dude. The line's not perfect, but their best work is just as good as Mattel's best work, right? They're a little bit inconsistent, but their best touches Mattel's best and exceeds it sometimes. Like, I still think Will Ospreay's Supreme may have been the best figure last year. Supremes were awesome. Yeah, the Supremes are awesome. um So, I'm holding out hope that they... I don't think anybody... Even if they do somehow get another deal with someone... I don't think it's going to be better than what we have with Jazzworks, man. So i'm I'm hoping they can patch it up. But I think we're we're staring down the barrel of the the end of this thing. Dude, I think they just... Honestly, the way the last like three months have gone and that they finally did announce some more vault figures and stuff, I'm hoping they just put a freeze on this because like the way they were releasing, the amount of sets they were releasing at a time...
01:09:45
Speaker
And the way they just sat on shelves, like, dude, maybe just like do like two or three sets a year. Give a couple of Supreme, some vault releases. Like, dude, when they did that, when they started the vault, like, why the fuck are we releasing 20 figures in six months? Like, that's and that's not what it's supposed to be. Like, dude, when they when they drop that art for when they drop that Supreme Will Osprey, like that was like, that's what the feeling you want to have when they drop a figure like I don't need a Kenny Omega with that's from 20 years ago from Ring of Honor. I don't need that. Like that. They're digging too deep in the in the niche department. like
01:10:21
Speaker
You don't need to do that. that You're not w WWE, dude. You don't have that that same reach that w WWE does. like Dude, just release the bangers and people buy that stuff. When AEW started out with the Jazz Worse figures, that was like some of the most exciting fig hunting I've ever done in my life.
01:10:38
Speaker
I remember finding a whole sealed case of Series 2 at a Walmart in Kentucky, man. feel like I have to win a lottery ticket, dude. Bro, when I found that shipper. We went to a different aisle to open it. We were like, oh, God, what if there's another figure hunters here? Yeah, we're going to get jumped. When I found that shipper of AEW Series 1 and bought the whole thing out for Foley Fam, that was probably one of the greatest fig moments I've had. Dude, that's where the Fig God was born, dude. Yeah, that's where the Fig God was born, dude, when those AEW figures were dropped. Yeah, I literally bought that entire shipper. They had put it out that morning, and I bought every single figure on that shipper. Look at all these people running to the entrance, dude. Imagine that happening in, like, now. We're watching Ultimate Warrior era. You know what I mean? Just setting the crowd on fire, man. And, I mean, like, everybody's leaving their seats and, like, running up the aisles to, like, get a better shipper. We're so far removed from that. Can you imagine, like, security would, like, tackle you and take you down. You know, this didn't air on pay-per-view until a couple of days after it happened in England, because you could do that back in the days before the internet. Originally, they were putting the Bulldog on last for the live crowd. Originally, this match was going to be the main event on the American pay-per-view. They were just going to splice the tape. But the reception for the Breton Bulldog match was so great that they just kept it as the main event, man. Yeah.
01:11:52
Speaker
Yeah, this Warrior Macho Man is a banger. That's a really good match. on um But yeah, dude, I'm yeah i'm hoping somehow another we keep getting AEW figures, man. There's too many good guys down there, dude. It would suck to not keep it.
01:12:05
Speaker
I'll tell you this, dude. I'm making it my number one cause in wrestling, man. If this thing, if we finally get the word, like, no lie, this thing's dead and gone, buried six feet under, somebody from WWE or TKO or Mattel, He's got to go across the fucking the demilitarization zone like it's the fucking border between North and South Korea.
01:12:22
Speaker
We got to get Sting back, dude. Even if he's with AEW for everything else, at least get the rights to make Sting figures, dude. They can't do it to figure collectors to have us suddenly be in in a black hole where it's impossible to get any figures of the Stinger, man. like i just did I think Mattel did a better job than they get credit for while they had Sting under contract, but there's still a lot of meat on the bone. And even just doing some re-dos, man. You see how great some of these old elites, when they get redone as Ultimate Edition, how great they look, man. like Imagine a Surfer Sting with the jacket, but it's like the the hard plastic, like the disposable orange, like they're done for the Bret Hart figures, man. We need Sting back with a with Mattel if this Jazzbird thing is really going complete, man. And if it is going down the drain, bro, give us like 10 Surfer Stings. du Just mix and match the the freaking colors. Pump us out like a five-pack of Surfer Sting figures as a last little little hookup for the fans. Hurrah, yeah.
01:13:11
Speaker
Agree. All right. Our last two questions are both AJ questions. Do you want Stiles or Lee first? Let's go Lee first. Okay. All right. Sam Rosenthal. We've kind of touched on, you know, how long we see her reign lasting and stuff, ah but he wants to know why is AJ Lee so popular? gotta give this one to Jordan, man. i don't got to answer.
01:13:30
Speaker
I mean... I'm gonna be honest with you. Like, guy I didn't get it back then and I really don't get it now. Well, okay. So... Off to Sheena, dude. Okay. AJ Lee, take it back to baseball. she's at It's an 0-2 count. Sheena's stepping up, trying to give her a fastball over the middle. So if you if you recall when AJ Lee was um you know making her name in wrestling, it was a time when like we we were still, we're not so far removed from like the bra and panties model era, right? like Where it was just like all girls were like bimbos and you had a couple of standout athletes, but for the most part, The revolution hadn't happened yet. Yeah, there was no deep there was no women's revolution. We were still hardcore in the in the Divas era. I don't know what says over here, like, you know, doom scrolling while I'm talking. I'm looking for something. We're still, like, you know, deep into the Divas era. um And she was just different, dude. She was, you know, she's notoriously the anti-Diva. She was the first one. She was kind of like an emo-diva. nerd video gamer chick, right? Like she, and she had a big like following online. And I, if I remember correctly, she was like very active online, like talking to her fans and talking to, you know, all the people who supported her and stuff. And she was just not, you know, the, ah what's the word I'm looking for? Like,
01:14:49
Speaker
oh like beautiful in the way that anti diva dude. Yeah. As I said, she was, she's not, she wasn't like, you know, the big fake boobs and, you know, blonde hair and all of that. It was just like something totally different. And I think people gravitated to that. And again, the, the fact that she was like a nerd and open nerd back then before it was cool. Right. Like now it's cool to be a nerd, but back then it was like, you know, not, not as cool.
01:15:12
Speaker
Sheena said all that and did not watch a single one of AJ Lee's matches during that span that she was wrestling because she wasn't watching wrestling period. I saw AJ Lee win a match at WrestleMania. Okay, thank you very much. Her and Paige fought the Bellas. But you were not watching in 2009 when AJ Lee debuted. And I can assure you, if you go back and watch those matches, you would feel a tad differently about it. I don't think you have to be back then. You didn't have to be a good wrestler to be popular. Right. Like as far as the women were concerned, like though it wasn't like it wasn't like she was like, you know, going up against Rhea and Becky and Sasha Banks and EO and all these people that are just like incredible. Right. So I don't think it was a matter of like work rate. I think people just people just liked her because she was different.
01:15:59
Speaker
And she was kind of, i mean, she was cheesy. She was very cheesy then. And she's still cheesy now. she does is skip. All she does is skip. According to, uh, Paige. Oh, is it Brie? Oh yeah. All you do is skip.
01:16:11
Speaker
So, and she was Paige's worst best friend. Um, I get it. i've I've seen a lot of AJ Lee, but and yes, it's not, you know, it's nothing compared to the women's wrestling that we have today. But um there is a reason why she was so popular. And then she hooked up with, you know, CM Punk, which I mean, only magnified her her lore. Right. I feel like that if it weren't for CM Punk, I don't. And that this is no shade to She's a little I feel like she would have been forgotten a lot more than what she has been. But, you know, the fact that she like had her own little like micro version of a pipe bomb and then like left the company.
01:16:44
Speaker
And, you know, I feel like it just kind of like. Well, hold on. First, she had an onscreen relationship with Daniel Bryan. Let's not just salt that away. I think she kissed a lot of people. And then she had an on-screen relationship with CM Punk and Kane at the same time. Like, it there was a lot going Wasn't she with Dolph Ziggler at once? Wasn't it like her Biggie and Dolph Ziggler thing at one time also? Yeah, they were a trio, yep.
01:17:07
Speaker
Yeah. yeah Yeah. So, I mean, yeah, it's it's not great, but I feel like, ah you know, from what we were getting back then, I can totally see why people people wanted something different, you know?
01:17:20
Speaker
people People love emo nerd chicks, dude. When I go back and watch that old stuff, dude, I feel like 2010 to 2013, WWE was just on like random mode, dude. It was like putting universe mode on randomly.
01:17:31
Speaker
Not so much. The main event scene was kind of still pretty coherent, but I feel like some of the stuff I see the mid-card was just like, where did they come up? dude weekly tv yeah was so bad at that time i mean weekly tv was bad when you got back into it too like dude there was some yeah there were some years in like you know 2017 2018 17 was a pretty good year 18 and 19 were the two bad maybe yeah 18 and 19 that's what i say we you know we were talking about dude they teed up aw for such a hot start like aw had just every possible thing going in its favor when they kicked off because wwe had been So bad, man. I feel like, you know, 14 and 15 when we first got back into it. was good, yeah. don't know if it was, looking back, I don't think was too much good. i think it was just, we had the nostalgia goggles that it was like, okay, it's our first time watching wrestling in 10 years. So we were much more forgiving of it, dude. True, but I, it was like the, it was like the, um you know, what's the word? Like the,
01:18:23
Speaker
beginning of Seth Rollins, right? So it was like... Rollins was definitely probably the bright spot of... He had J&J security, dude. Like, I loved all of that. I call like, the network era, right? That, like, 14 to 19. Yeah. Seth was a bright spot for sure. Yeah, I mean, and there was some dark moments. I mean, I could go without seeing Kane and Randy Orton. Back then, you know, I'm really high on Randy Orton now, but back then, I was high. He was little bit of board. Yes, and he was on TV. Corporate Randy Orton. Yeah, corporate Randy Orton was just not it. You know, we had NXT during that time, too, which was some of the best wrestling TV of all time. NXT

Black and Gold. NXT carried back then, man.
01:18:57
Speaker
Yeah. yeah well Let's not forget, Roman Reigns was wrestling Baron Corbin in a TGA Fridays uniform at that point, too. like theyre Yeah, it' getting smothered in dog food. There was a lot of bad in that five-year time frame.
01:19:10
Speaker
Yeah. yeah Yeah. Constable Corbin. Constable. oh When he cut his hair, I just, i mean, not that his hair was good, but God damn.
01:19:21
Speaker
I mean, say what you want. I feel like Baron Corbin always did the best. was talented. He had shit booking, dude. Yeah, he did the best he could with what he had, dude. Yeah, he was a victim of booking, dude. He was cool. don't if cool is the right word, but he was totally good as a mid-card heel in NXT when he first came up to the main roster. But once they, don't know how they saw fit to like, I think it's because he was like just totally competent and everything he did. They're like, all right, let's throw him in with the corporation or the authority or whatever. And it was just, ugh. the worst it was so bad um Tony Barker so this is our AJ Styles question should AJ Styles be the headliner for WWE Hall of Fame this year or should a name like Cena or Batista be the headliner is Tony not aware that one Stephanie McMahon is holding the Hall of Fame well I was thinking yeah I was thinking Stephanie don't know man feel like Steph's probably headlining dude like I love AJ. AJ deserves to, but like, dude, who's been, Steph has been involved in so many key moments over the years, man.
01:20:13
Speaker
Yeah. They'll probably still have AJ go last. I don't know, but I think it's, to me, I feel like it's a coin flip, man. And, you know, it doesn't hurt being married to Triple H, dude. So I think there's a, as if I was calling right now, think Steph's going last, man. They're going literally out red carpet for Stephanie, dude. Can we, can we just touch on one thing about the Hall of Fame?
01:20:30
Speaker
Do we really need to have The Undertaker as the token gatekeeper of the Hall of Fame? He's going to be the Hall of Fame guy. Kane's going be the Elimination Chamber guy. That's what they're doing. Dude, why? like i just He's like the soul of WWE, bro. To me, it makes sense, man. I don't hate it. And, you know, like, I mean, dude, is it mania season if you don't see Undertaker, dude? You gotta see Undertaker, you know? So they found a new role for him where he's the guy that comes out and says, you know. I thought he was challenging AJ to one more match, dude. You know, when he looked down at the gloves, I thought he was going to say, you know, you don't need these for what we're going to do at AJ. It was going to be like Boneyard match part. I thought, oh, shit, we're getting Boneyard match part two, bro. They really are desperate to sell tickets, dude. A buried alive match again.
01:21:15
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. Something that, you know, they could just have all the shenanigans and Undertaker can still look good and just a straight up brawl. Like i said, I thought that's when he was looking down at the gloves. I was like, oh, shit, he's about to challenge him to a match, dude. Seth was about to mark out and then he realized Undertaker can barely even move.
01:21:33
Speaker
Yeah. I mean, you'd have to, I think you could still do it, but you'd have to, you'd have to have some serious freaking, uh, some, uh, smoking mirrors going on there. Yeah. 100%. Um, and that wraps up listener mail for this week. Thank you guys for freaking, filling the mailbag. Yeah, man. That was, that was good. Some good stuff, dude. Um,
