Seth Phelps: What is up Foley fam? We are back with a very special edition of the Chick Foley show, man. We got a special guest. We're going to be running through Royal Rumble 26 review, plus just kind of taking a look on where we're at on the road to WrestleMania. I got Sheena right here next to me. Sheena, how you doing?
Seth Phelps: I'm doing good. It feels good to be back, you know, all the all the gangs back together. So first part of 2026, first one since our Christmas episode. for sure. Yeah, it was a busy holiday season.
pdunnett: Thank you.
Seth Phelps: I hope you guys all had a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, whatever it is you celebrate out there. But yeah, it was ah it was busy for us around here and we've been snowed in. I haven't left my home since January 22nd.
Seth Phelps: Jordan, what's going on out in Omaha?
Jordan: Yeah, it's ah it's warmer here than it is there. I'll say that. It's like 60 degrees today, which is wild. We have no snow on the ground at all. it's ah Yeah, there's there's no snowed in here, dude. we just We keep it rolling in the Midwest.
Seth Phelps: We're about to get a string of 60 degree days, so i I'm pumped. Melt off the last of this lingering snow. Thank You guys heard me mention we got a special guest, man. We've been talking about this for, think, years at this point. We finally made it happen, got in the time zones to a align. And, ah you know, over the years, you probably heard us mention, know, our friend Phil from the UK, Uncle Phil, the mysterious benefactor in the UK, who's to hook us up with some hard to find figures in the States. He's finally here on the podcast, well known in figure collecting circles.
Seth Phelps: Philip Dunnett, how you doing, man?
pdunnett: Aye, all good mate. It's only took you like five years to grind us down to get us on.
Seth Phelps: I know. I can't believe it's been this long. we you know we We've been talking about it for so long too, which is the kicker, right? like We've been like, we need to get Phil on the podcast. Let's get Phil on the podcast. And you know somehow it's just it's just not happened. But you're alive and well in the Facebook group, and that's the most important place to be. So you know we're glad to have you here finally.
pdunnett: ah no worries, it's about time.
Seth Phelps: You know, full disclosure, man, Phil's been shitting bricks for the last like two weeks since we kind of like locked this in. He's been super duper nervous, man. Now now that you're on here, you're kind of in the flow. Phil, what what do you think, man? Are the butterflies still kicking your ass right now or are you are you at ease now?
pdunnett: It's fine now. It's just like getting on. Once you're on, you're on. You're in the deep end, aren't you?

Jordan: Oh, yeah.
Seth Phelps: Yeah. You heard Chita mention, yeah, Phil's in the Facebook group. He's helped out numerous people over the years, man, with figures that, like I said, there's some figures that for whatever reason, they're just way easier to find in the UK.
Seth Phelps: I still remember that comma special edition. I think Phil bought about 60 of those, man, for the Facebook Oh, yes. I remember that.
Jordan: oh yeah

Seth Phelps: There's no drama. Our people are like, you know, it's chill, man. Like, I mean, if you've been in any of the wrestling groups, like, you know, not all of them are bad, but some of them are terrible. And there's just some straight up negative Nancy's in there.
Seth Phelps: Just some assholes. I'm like, why do you like, why would you spend this much time talking about something that you absolutely hate? So, yeah, nobody feels like that in our group. And yeah, so jump in there.

Jordan: No, i was just going to say, ah as much as me and Seth give him shit, Phil is actually a really good dude, and I'm glad to have him on here with us. And we'll we'll get some his wrestling thoughts, because this should be like an award-winning podcast with the way Phil talks shit.
Jordan: So I'm very excited to hear this.

Jordan: I mean, he's still a wanker no matter what.

Seth Phelps: So let's jump, let's jump in. We, we went all the way to Saudi Arabia to, uh, have this year's Royal rumble. They put up the stadium in what, like two weeks. Do they built this like, you know, open air.
Seth Phelps: quickly Yeah. This open air stadium. Again, I'm not sure what the code is in Saudi Arabia, but, uh,
pdunnett: It's called Slave Labour, I think.
Seth Phelps: Yeah, that's I mean, you know, I don't want to, I don't want to you know, point any fingers, but yeah, i mean, the fact that they jumped that the that, that would have taken six, six years here, here in America.
Jordan: yeah
pdunnett: They got it done.
Seth Phelps: So, uh, yeah, they got it done. It stayed standing. They broke it down. Um, you know, it looked good, man. The lighting thing was weird. I, you know, I was convinced until about halfway through the show that like half the arena was empty.
Seth Phelps: yeah I thought we had like a Thunderdome type of one on the upper decks, but it was an optical illusion because the way they had the stupid lights.
pdunnett: I think they've done it before though, haven't i
Seth Phelps: Yeah, they've done it like that, but it not I don't think it's been exactly like the the stadium that. they had or The arena that they had the first Raw on Netflix, the the Clippers New Stadium, is it the Intuit Dome, Jordan?
pdunnett: That's it.
Seth Phelps: Is that what it's called? Yes.
Jordan: Yep, yep.
Seth Phelps: Yeah, it it has a very similar, it may be identical, but it's got a very similar light system that creates the same thing. But I guess Raw, the camera shots are a little bit tighter, so you're not seeing the upper decks as much. Yeah, they were really doing some wide shots.
Seth Phelps: And the the the way it looked, I couldn't get it like a super close-up picture, but the way it looked, it looked like the the poles for the lights were right by the seats, dude. I don't know what what it was visually, like if you were sitting in the seat um if it impacted your view at all but or if the or if the ones in front of you impacted your view but i mean it looks cool but yeah very very strange setup i'm all for a dark crowd i think i think you know i guess not for a big show like that but um i typically go for a more dark so you see the fans yeah the worst part of i say it over again the worst part about wrestling is the fans dude we don't need to see them yeah they're trying to take over and go into business for themselves um Um, but we kicked it off with the women's Royal Rumble match.
pdunnett: Thank you.
Seth Phelps: Uh, Liv Morgan eliminated Tiffany Stratton to, uh, to become, you know, the women's Royal Rumble winner. She's been in every single women's Royal Rumble that there has been to date and, uh, finally got her victory.
Seth Phelps: Super stoked for Liv. I know some people were talking crap, but I don't know how you could, uh, not be happy for Liv Morgan right now.
Jordan: Oh yeah. I'm, I'm very happy for live, live Morgan. I just felt like the first, ah I'd say 30 minutes of this women's Royal rumble. It just felt like they were just going through the motions. Like it did not feel like your, your standard, like top of the line Royal rumble to me. So I'm, I'm very happy to live one. the end of it was really good, but the The beginning and middle were very, very, very bad, to me at least.
Jordan: like When I was watching it, I'm like, this is one of the biggest events of the year. and Probably some of that had to do with the the way just like the visuals of the whole thing was set up.
Jordan: I think that was part of it, but i don't know. I just did not enjoy the beginning of this match at all.
Seth Phelps: You know, i did i thought I thought it was cool that Charlotte and Alexa came out together. i know some people hated Jordan hated it.
Jordan: Dude, they do it all the fucking time.
Seth Phelps: what
Jordan: Why do we need to keep doing this?
Seth Phelps: who who would do who was a more Who would be a more interested?
Jordan: It's stupid.
Seth Phelps: you're saying any random number one or number two pick would have been better than Charlotte and Alexa?
pdunnett: Any two people that can fight?
Jordan: Yeah, exactly. Any two people that can fight, who cares? Like, dude, why do we need to keep leaning into this?
Seth Phelps: But I think...
pdunnett: Like...
Jordan: whole Oh, are they friends or are they foes? This ends the same goddamn way every year. they One of them eliminates the other one at some point. Happens every year.
pdunnett: But...
Seth Phelps: But it starts it starts it starts the Royal Rumble off at a disadvantage for the next person to come in. If you're Kiana James coming in at the number three spot, you're like, holy shit, dude.
pdunnett: but
Seth Phelps: Like, you know, now I've got to overcome freaking Alexa and Charlotte. You know what i mean? it was fun. These entrants are picked at random, dude. These are randomly drawn entry numbers, guys.
Jordan: Oh, yeah.
Seth Phelps: You act like they set this up.
Jordan: Yeah, definitely.
Seth Phelps: Yeah. yeah what What could they do?
Jordan: Definitely. kfa only
Seth Phelps: I do agree. It went on a little long as, ah as much as we've known that w WWE can, you know, cook the books a little bit, as far as like the timers are concerned. I feel like they should have cut it off just a smidge shorter than they did. It did go on a little bit long, but other than that, I mean, i thought it was fun and I'm, I'm here for Alexa and Charlotte. I mean, there was at one point where we thought Charlotte was going to get booed all the way back to freaking Charlotte and go, go home and take her ball and go home, dude. And Alexa single-handedly saved Charlotte's career. And in my, in my humble opinion.
Seth Phelps: What do you think? what are your What are your thoughts, Phil? I want to know your thoughts on that.
pdunnett: Well, you know how you said no negativity.
Seth Phelps: Just the women's rumble as a whole. yeah That's okay.
pdunnett: Well...
Seth Phelps: we can bring We can bring it back up. You're allowed to be negative.
pdunnett: I thought was like the whole event was terrible. Like, ah ah honestly, like I'm not just saying this.
Jordan: Hell yeah.
pdunnett: I was thinking like, oh my God, I'm going to come on here and say this. But like, it there's going to be a WrestleMania on Saudi. And like the first three rows are like the ultra rich people who don't care.
pdunnett: They're just there because got And like, there was no crowd response, especially to the women. um Like, I've watched it back.
Seth Phelps: Do you think it's just culturally or do you think it's just like the way, I don't know. The crowd was a little down, but I mean, to me that didn't take away. i mean, I was like, you know, where the hell is the crowd? But it didn't take away from the the rumble for me.
pdunnett: I think when it's the rumble, like it does a bit, especially now because I don't know most of the music when of changed, especially the women.
Seth Phelps: Yeah. Yeah.
pdunnett: But they come out and it was just to nothing. I don't know. like The crowd is a big part of the rumble for me.
Seth Phelps: Yeah, that's true.
pdunnett: one Probably one and only five matches.
Seth Phelps: yeah you live for the crowd pop. You live for the crowd pop. However, there wasn't a lot of surprises. I would say Brie Bella was the only surprise that I saw in the Rumble um that was like, you know, oh my God, I can't believe this person is here.
Seth Phelps: that was the surprise at all. and Not even just, oh my God. Was there any other than mild surprises in the women's room No, there was nobody that, you know, there was no legends. standard Triple H has seemed to really phase out the the legends.
Seth Phelps: We didn't get, I mean, we'll talk about it in a minute, but we didn't even get Chris Jericho, which I thought could be possibly be a surprise.
pdunnett: Thank you.
Seth Phelps: Triple H's Rumble is going back to 23. They've all been light on the surprises. He's all about showcasing the roster. Which I'm fine with because I feel like, you know, there's... there Those few rumbles, like, you know, early on, you know, 2015, 2016, 2017, like, there was just, there's too much fluff sometimes. And I feel like, you know, they, I like it a nice trim down, just current roster rumble. But,
Seth Phelps: I thought it was great. Sol Ruka looked amazing. that the double the double so The double soul snatcher off the freaking top rope, like that was incredible. The ending was awesome.
pdunnett: All right.
Seth Phelps: Lash Legend got out there and looked incredible. um Chelsea Green went out and did her thing. I um yeah i don't know what there was to to hate on this. I thought it was a solid a solid women's rumble, especially considering they're in Saudi, the crowd is dead. They're all wearing freaking cat suits. Um, so I thought it was middle of the road. I did like the ending. I thought the the final three, uh, did a really good job once it got down to them.
Seth Phelps: I, I, out of all the rumbles I've seen, I thought this was another one. I've seen way worse, man. So I think, I think Phil's being a little aggressive.
pdunnett: ah but the The final three saved it. like The final three saved it in the odd lash bit. And then when... Was it Rhea razor-edged? Roxanne out?
pdunnett: like Stuff like that.
Seth Phelps: Yes.
pdunnett: But I don't know.
Seth Phelps: Yeah. Yeah.
pdunnett: like it's ah It's the crowd for me personally like on the Rumble there. It does kill it a bit. like When you think most Rumbles, what you remember, are the returns, are the shocks.
Jordan: right.
pdunnett: like When Cena came back, like it's the crowd...
Seth Phelps: Yeah.
Seth Phelps: I think in Triple H's mind, like, you know, by doing it this way, you're really allowing yourself, uh, one, just some wiggle room in case anything happens between now and WrestleMania, right?
Seth Phelps: By keeping it all current rosters, you're keeping at least everybody at somewhat relevant, right?
pdunnett: Uh-huh.
Seth Phelps: Because there's something that happened to them in the rumble that could be translated into, into a match, you know, worst case scenario of what they're planning kind of falls apart. Um, i You know, like Seth said, it it was another rumble, but i have no I have no qualms with it, dude. I enjoyed it.
Seth Phelps: And i think the right I think the right person won.
Jordan: homan
Seth Phelps: I think Liv Morgan.
Jordan: At least le me and Phil are on planet Earth here. think at Sheena and Seth are just like the fucking resident fucking schlacks from WWE.
Jordan: They're like, here's your $12.
pdunnett: sport washed.
Jordan: Let us know how great this was oh
Seth Phelps: I mean... What else was I going to be doing Saturday afternoon?
Jordan: Oh, 10 nights.
Seth Phelps: Exactly. If if so...
Jordan: I'm not saying that you shouldn't have watched it. That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying like, dude, it's okay to be critical of WWE because it's not great. Like, dude, that was it not a good rumble. Like, i I just don't know how anybody thinks that that was a good women's rumble.
Jordan: Like, I, ah you know, i love, know, you literally commented 30 minutes into it, how slow it looked like it.
Seth Phelps: What was so inherently bad about it? I thought it was just some
Seth Phelps: No, I said, no no no, no, no, don't twist.
pdunnett: tell you I'll tell you what was terrible.
Seth Phelps: Don't put words in my mouth. I said that the women looked like they were moving in slow motion, running from the entranceway, from gorilla position down to the ring. Well, they on bondage suits. Yeah, that's what I said.
Seth Phelps: there was there to fire i don't know if it I don't know if it was the gear or if I don't know if it was like the, there was like a weird ramp angle and they didn't want to do a, you know, ah a great, greatest royal stumble like, uh, Tyson or Titus.
Jordan: bondage shoes.
pdunnett: not seen Seth running his before?
Seth Phelps: So I said Tyson, Titus.
Jordan: Tyson.
Seth Phelps: Um, but, uh, but yeah, I, I, that's why I commented it slow. The action in the ring was fine. I, you know, when you get that many women in the ring, it's just Phil, Phil said he's got something that was horrible.
pdunnett: ah I'll tell you what I picked up on a lot was well what when the women were, m like, when they weren't doing anything, when, like, someone new would come in, it was blatantly obvious.
Seth Phelps: Okay. It was actually horrible about it. phil
pdunnett: They just watching, waiting for the next bit.
Seth Phelps: Yeah. They don't do as good a job.
pdunnett: Like, nah, like, even if you're just in the corner, like, pretending to punch someone, there was a a lot of that.
Seth Phelps: Just yeah resting in the corners, throwing them some like the guys. Yeah. Yeah.
pdunnett: Especially, like, Jordan Grace, I noticed quite a bit.
Seth Phelps: Mm-hmm. Yeah, they let the ring get really full.
Jordan: Yeah.
Seth Phelps: I will say that. they There should have been more eliminations happening. Because I thought for a moment, I was like, you know, who's going to come in and just freaking clean house? Because we have like 10 room and in the ring. At first, you know, I mean, they like Alexa and Charlotte could have dumped Kiana James like right off the bat and they didn't.
Seth Phelps: So, you know, at that point I was like, okay, we're going to let this thing freaking fill up. um But yeah, and once you get 20 people in the ring, it's, you know, there's not much room for everybody to move around. is But is that your qualms that like the camera caught people watching and, you know, that you think the movement was a little bit slow?
Seth Phelps: Because that seems a little weak to me. Dang, weak.
pdunnett: And it was just born.
Seth Phelps: did i Don't get me wrong, guys. Yeah, I'm not as negative on as you guys. I don't see myself ever you know going back and being like, you know what, man, I need to fire up the 2026 Women's Rumble and watch that again. But i didn't I wasn't offended by it either.
Seth Phelps: I thought it was just it was whatever, dude. It didn't stick out to me as being particularly bad. But yeah, but it was it's not in my top 15 Rumbles ever, though, that's for sure.
pdunnett: I think that's the problem as well, though. You always hype the Rumble in WrestleMania up.
Seth Phelps: Mm-hmm.
pdunnett: So you always expect a great one. I suppose you are going to get rubbish ones, but I'd rather start...
Seth Phelps: Yeah. Yeah. I told Jordan that the same, I think that was a Saturday night when we were talking about it.
Jordan: Thank
Seth Phelps: I said, the rumble's kind of starting to get into like the war games territory that like, yeah, as great as it always seems like it's going to be, it's the, I feel like each year the expectations get higher and higher and it just fails to live up more and more.
pdunnett: Yeah. And also, like I've always said, why do they i have to have the men's and the women's on the same night?
Seth Phelps: man
Seth Phelps: Yeah. We've said that for a long time.
pdunnett: That kills it.
Seth Phelps: I hate that and the money in the bank. I want to alternate. One year the men have the rumble and the women have money in the bank and then swap it the next year, man.
pdunnett: But they could split it and do like it it like the Evolution pay-per-view and do like a woman's one or not or just on any pay-per-view.
Seth Phelps: I,
Seth Phelps: Well, I think we're going to two night rumbles. I want to say two night rumbles are starting next year. So that, that probably is going to be a thing.
pdunnett: Oh, Christ.
Seth Phelps: Yeah. So careful what you wish for there. yeah um Why don't we just, like why don't we run them at the same time, dude?
Jordan: Okay, so here... Wow.
Seth Phelps: 15 women and 15 men and the last woman standing in the last man stand and win it and do it like that. Yeah. Just have two rings.
Jordan: there
Seth Phelps: like No one ring. Everybody's in the same ring. Anybody's free to eliminate others. So you can get some little energy, but the last man and the last woman win, dude.
Jordan: wow
Seth Phelps: That sounds terrible.
Jordan: Okay, so like ah here is my biggest gripe about this this women's rumble. This is arguably the most stacked women's roster they've ever had.
pdunnett: Thank you.
Jordan: We just said there was no surprises because you don't need any surprises with the roster that they have.
Seth Phelps: Mm-hmm.
Jordan: So having said all that, like we're all like, okay, this was just like middle of the road. It was forgettable. That's my problem, though, is they have such a stacked roster that we're still getting a middle-of-the-road Royal Rumble. like Why is that? i That's what I don't understand. like As much as we all like praise Triple H's booking, to me, like with this much talent on the roster, this should never happen. where you're just like I mean, it was fine. It just was there. and Seth just said it. like I don't think I'll ever go back and watch it. like there It was just another rumble.
Seth Phelps: Yeah, I mean, there wasn't a lot of fun spots. And again, I don't know if that's just because they can't do that because they were in Saudi and they didn't want to like, you know, have the women like shaking their tits and their ass and like, you know, putting putting their asses in each other's faces.
pdunnett: What, like pop a tit out?
Seth Phelps: You know what i mean? Like, you're not going to have freaking, you know, what's what's um ah
pdunnett: That's the only time the crowd went wild, when Nikki Bella turned around.
Seth Phelps: Stephanie's move? What's it called? The kiss of death or something? The devil's kiss. The devil's kiss. Yeah, you can't be doing the devil's kiss in Saudi Arabia. you know What was that feel? What'd you say?
pdunnett: said the only time the c crowd popped was when Nikki Bella did her entrance and she was shaking about.
Seth Phelps: and And I specifically called that out. I said, man, I said, the fact that they got to wear a cat suit and they got Nikki Bella up here, you know, grinding in the air. I was like, that's, she's really doing something. She must've got a approval of that.
Jordan: I
Seth Phelps: um But ah yeah, I mean, I think it was just, maybe they felt a little stiff because, you know, they're performing in front of a a crowd that doesn't view them as, ah as equals, you know, so.
Jordan: i was about to say they were the only ones that were stiff in that building.
Seth Phelps: I'm just, well, I'm just,
pdunnett: Yeah, that's Jordan's main complaint, at wear clothes.
Seth Phelps: ah not I'm just saying, if the men, I i feel like if WWE wants that you know to bring all this you know equity and all this stuff to you know to the forefront, like if the if the women have to wear catsuits, then the men shouldn't be able to go out there in their underwear and freaking wrestle, dude.
Jordan: All right, Phil.
pdunnett: but
Seth Phelps: I don't need to see Gunther's tits if I can't see Nikki Bella's.
Jordan: Thank you.
Seth Phelps: You know what i mean? like I mean, you say that. I do think they should be commended, dude. In eight years, they've gone from not being allowed to have women at the show to having a fucking 30-woman Royal Rumble. I mean, not to be a cornball, but that is progress, dude.
Seth Phelps: This is progress. Yeah, it really is, man.
pdunnett: Thank you.
Seth Phelps: I'm not saying it's not progress, but I'm just saying, like, the the progress, that it's there's a stark, still a stark difference between, you know, the men's and women's.
Seth Phelps: Phil, what's the... what's like the UK fan base what's their take on the Saudi shows because here in America like I honestly I'm over it I don't love it but it's not like caused me to lose any sleep but you got a lot of people that really you know hate that you know WWE so doing so much business with you know the evil Saudi government man is that is that a concern amongst the UK fans or are they kind of just whatever about it
pdunnett: Well, you're asking the wrong person really because support Newcastle United and the Saudi um government have bought that. So I'm well and truly sports-washed.
Jordan: Thank you.
Seth Phelps: but you're and so you're basically like chic feel yeah
pdunnett: They could behead the journalists in the centre circle if they want to do, as long as Newcastle's winning.
Seth Phelps: Yeah. I
pdunnett: But m I think it's the same as over there. like You get the people who are like Saudi blood money and all this, but the they're going to do it regardless, aren't they?
Seth Phelps: Yeah, I mean, I think I've come to accept it. I think I was much more bothered by it whenever shows like going to PLEs were actually like, you know, an event that most like families could afford.
Seth Phelps: Like we could afford to take, you know, the kids to WrestleMania or to the Royal Rumble or something. But now that like the regular United States shows are just so astronomically priced, I'm like, fuck it, just where wherever you want to go, because I'm not going anyway.
Seth Phelps: So like, whatever, dude, you know, like, so.
pdunnett: Well, I mean, that's it. It's it's one of them things, and the people who are that bothered about it, I'm sure that you're you're funding it anyways. You buy fuel. So, like...
Jordan: Yeah.
Seth Phelps: Oh, man. We're really we're really getting pulled. The Saudi helps pay my paycheck, dude. They're the biggest buyer of American weapons systems and military equipment, man.
pdunnett: Also, that's why you being them swearing that Royal Rumble's great.
Seth Phelps: They're helping. Yeah. Yeah. They help put a little bit of cheese on my whopper, dude. Yeah. You're going to see Seth in the center of the ring like introducing the you know the Saudi government before long in his in his camo.
Seth Phelps: Wow. Wow. Yeah. Anyway, will we'll, we'll, we'll quit crapping on the women's rumble. I enjoyed it. Clearly Jordan and Phil did not. um But we'll we'll move on to our next match, which was Gunther defeating AJ Styles by submission in a ah career match.
pdunnett: Thank you.
Seth Phelps: So he went out and thought the match was a banger. The match was awesome. The ending sucked. The match was awesome. The ending sucked. I'm so tired of seeing Gunther just bear hug people to into submission.
Seth Phelps: um ah And I hate ah hate that it was AJ Styles. I don't think that that's how he wanted to go out. Obviously, I can't be in his head. He didn't lay his gloves down, which is, you know,
Seth Phelps: Kind of strange. He took them off, had a little moment, but did not lay them down in the center of the ring. So what do you guys think is next for AJ Styles?
Jordan: um I mean, I'm assuming you yeah you have to assume it's either AEW or TNA. Like, I hope his last match ever is in TNA just because, I mean, that's where he made his name.
Jordan: I mean, that's what people know him from.
Seth Phelps: Mm-hmm.
