00:00:22
Speaker
What is up, Foley fam? It is WrestleMania week. But before we get into everything, let's start, as always, by introducing the star

WrestleMania Build and Sponsor Promotions

00:00:40
Speaker
of the show, Sheena. How you doing? I'm doing good. We were talking before we went live. how it just it feels It just doesn't feel like WrestleMania weekend. And I know that's pretty been a pretty common um you know statement over the last week or so. But yeah, it just kind of snuck up on me, man. like We've been talking about it and talking about it. And then it was like, oh, crap, it's this weekend. So I'm stoked. i mean I'm ready for WrestleMania. But usually like we have ah a lot bigger personal build, I think, where we're just getting hyped for it. Yeah, definitely. um it's it's been a little bit uh less than buzz worthy so far on this build uh we also got our main man out in the midwest the fit god jordan wells jordan what's up dude man just uh yeah another wrestlemania week this one feels a little tko-ish uh we'll get into the building stuff but yeah it doesn't feel like a normal one also i'm not coming to see you guys for the first time in like three years Brett asked, he said, he said we said it was WrestleMania weekend. He said, oh, it's WrestleMania weekend? He said, is Jordan coming?
00:01:33
Speaker
Yeah, he said it was like standard. You were here, dude. Yeah. Next year for sure. but we'll We'll get the tradition back back going, man. I want to remind you guys, this show is brought to you by Ringside Collectibles, our presenting sponsor. Use code. Chick-fil-A to save 10% on all your purchases there. 00:02:16
Speaker
No, let's get into it. All right, let's quickly, before we dive into Mania, we did have another major pay-per-view over the weekend. It was AEW Dynasty. Pretty dang good show, but AEW, you know, we said this, i want to say we said close to the same thing after Revolution. They're a victim of their own success at this point. They're operating on an impossible grading curve to kind of keep up with where they've been. And I'd say the last few pay-per-views have kind of been a half step below um the the normal standard that they've set, just on overall excitement level that they've delivered.
00:02:45
Speaker
Still better than, you know, 95% of the wrestling shows out there you're going to watch. But I was... I wouldn't i don't know if I could quite say i was underwhelmed. I think I was maybe just whelmed by this one. How about you, Jordan? Yeah, I mean, you're right. what We just expect so much out of these shows and just five-star matches across the board.
00:03:01
Speaker
The only thing that I will say about this show, this was by far the most unpredictable booking that I think Tony Khan's ever done. Like, I mean, just look at the fully pixel-y. Like, nobody got nobody scored high on it. I mean...
00:03:14
Speaker
yeah I mean, it was almost unanimous. Everybody thought Ospreay was going to win. He didn't win the Cope and Cage match. They didn't win. Like, dude, it was, I mean. yeah It was unanimous. Yeah, the Cope and Cage. So, yeah, Jordan, you know, if you're a first-time listener, we've got our Foley Pixie, which is pretty seasoned. I'd say it's smart marks, man. You know, it's for the most part that's in there because it's at this point we're eight seasons in, so it's really kind of the most hardcore people. Even the people that may have not have been smart first, they've spent the last, you know, basically six years predicting every match on the show. You're going to get good at it, naturally. um And yeah, dude, to Jordan's point, man, the Jericho-Ricochet match, 31 people picked Chris Jericho to win that match. Our boy Johnny JB, the one guy that's winless so far in in ah Picks League, he was the one person to pick Jericho. ah The Edge and Christian versus FTR match, everybody, not one person picked FTR. Yeah. at tr wins man so it was on what i when i do the scoring man it was it was like bloody murder was a lot of red across there yeah appropriate for aw you know yeah mean it was it was good though like i enjoyed the show it just in this one didn't feel like it drug on to me like for some reason the pacing was good yeah it did it did end like i when i when it was over because i actually stayed up to the end i was like doing a bunch of stuff during the show but then you know i was kind of like laying on the couch and i was like oh the show ended and

Anticipation for Omega vs. MJF and AEW vs. WWE Preferences

00:04:26
Speaker
i hadn't like you know crashed out yet so Yeah, was good. Normally I would shit on doing the trios match in between Moxley, Osprey, and Omega, MJF, but even that didn't overstay its welcome. It was fun. It was a nice palate cleanser. Ten minutes. Before the main event. I think i think if you if you take seven or eight minutes off that Omega, MJF match, I think it's just right, dude. I think they may want to touch along, but... I did think it was a good show, man. um I thought it peaked with Darby and Andrade. I thought that match rocked. I think that's that's got a very good chance to end going on my top 10 of 2026, the end of the year. I think both those guys are peaking right now, man. I think it's a realistic possibility Darby Allin wins the championship tomorrow night. I wouldn't bet on him winning it, but it's not impossible that he beats MJF for the belt tomorrow. um
00:05:11
Speaker
But yeah, I thought that was great. I really liked Osprey and Mox, man. I thought that it was... um I thought the match was cool. The vibes were on point, dude. Like the energy, it felt like that, you know, that damn near should have been the main event over Omega and um MJF just because Mox has gotten so over it. We know Ospreay is just, you know, transcendent at this point. um You know, quickly rising up the ranks is best of all time. um And I thought that was great. I thought it was just, you know, one too many false finishes there, dude. I think, i you know, I think it was, I think we had a curb stomp. I think we had a curb stomp and then two straight Death Rider DDTs.
00:05:45
Speaker
I don't know why Osprey needed to kick out of that because he kicked out just for Mox to pick him up and do, you know, the the big super paradigm shift DVD. And then pin I don't know why you need to have that that extra kick out there. It was just, you know, because even the crowd, man, I think it would have been Osprey still going down as a hero if he loses that. But it it kind of sucked the wind out of when he kicked out just to the yeah next, to you know, the very next move. But. It was good, though, man. It was great. I will officially declare, man, that for the first time since 2022, am back pro AEW over WWE. The pendulum switched back, man. I think it was shortly after Triple H took over and then the the whole CM Punk debacle that I kind of just went back to Team WWE for the last four years. But, dude, we'll get into it. The build for many has been so shitty, and AEW has been on such a high in 2026. I'm officially back Team AEW.
00:06:30
Speaker
Bro, it's, I mean, the weekly TV is just so good every week with AEW. Like, I feel like even on the build to WrestleMania, you didn't need to watch every Raw. Like, a lot of weeks, it was the exact same thing. We haven't, yeah. We'll talk about it, but yeah, we have I'm as intrigued by this MJF derby match tomorrow night as anything that's happening over the weekend, man. That's real talk. Yeah.
00:06:51
Speaker
Yeah. ah Sheen, what are your thoughts on Dynasty? would you get You got a letter grade for it? Um, I give it a B plus. B plus. Okay. Fair. I think the one thing we got to hammer out with AEW, man, we, dude, we got to get this figure line ironed out. dude We need to get jazz wears and AEW back in a room and y'all just kiss and make up, dude. Figure out what needs to happen. day Let's come up with a, you know, a 10 point deal. What needs happen for both sides moving forward to get this thing running back smooth. We need, we need jazz wears to keep pumping stuff out, man. There were some seriously toyetic looks. Yeah. on Sunday night. Just keep the Supreme line, if nothing else. like Nothing else, man. At least keep that and those figures you keep dropping them on the vault, if nothing else. Yeah, dude. It's not viable on shelves. Yeah, give us a vault drop once in while. I don't need it on the shelves everywhere. I'm completely fine ordering it offline because yeah every AEW vault drops. At this point in life, i'm I'm better off not hunting, dude. You know what i mean? like The time to be hitting the stores and hunting is is not there. So yeah, if you could just drop it online, you know, I mean, dude, we're living in a world we might not get a Megan Bane figure, dude. Think about how toyetic she is. She has to have a figure.
00:07:57
Speaker
Who else? would there was Somebody else I saw that I was like, we got to get figures in them. dar Darby and Andrade both looked amazing. I thought Ospreay, you know, his gear he had, it was very similar to his Supreme, man. So I don't think we need that. But Mocs look great. It was just, you know.
00:08:10
Speaker
MJF had the full-blown like devil. MJF, yeah. MJF and Kenny. Yeah, I said if we could get a supreme two-pack of Kenny and MJF, both of their entrance gear, man, the devil and the wrestling god would be incredible. I still don't think we've gotten the perfect Death Rider mox figure yet, man. There's just, dude, there's so much meat on the bone. And like I said, Jazzwares doesn't hit every time, but when they do hit, it's as good as anything Mattel puts out. True, I just feel like we have so many mox. I like his Supreme figure. I'm looking at it right now. I think his Supreme figure is a good enough placeholder for Mox. It's cool, but he's still not bald, though, right? I don't think we've gotten a true bald Mox yet, man. Yeah, I mean, the Supreme figure is great. I got the Supreme figure on display in the room right now, but I just, you know, the figure...
00:08:49
Speaker
The their figure collecting is such a big part of my enjoyment of wrestling that if this line truly, you know, right now I think we're kind of puttering, right? where The gas light is on, but we're still kind of cruising down the highway right now. If it truly does die off completely and there's just no AW figure line, it's going to be a major bummer, dude. You know, maybe everybody's at ringside will pick them up, though. I know they've at least teased that it's it's a possibility. The figures they're putting out are extremely close to what Jazz Wars has. so I can see them or you know I would say Zombie. Zombie would do an amazing job with them, but it's just going to be, dude, you're going to be waiting five years for everyone of these figures. yeah we'll get like We'll get the Dynasty 2026 figures in
00:09:26
Speaker
Yeah. Right. But real quick, let's go around just quick hitter before we dive into mania. We'll keep the positive vibes going for a little longer Tomorrow night, we got AEW spring break, spring breakdown, spring breakout. You remember what it is, Jordan? I think it's spring breakdown.
00:09:40
Speaker
Yeah. Spring breakdown. Darby and MJF for the belt. What's what's your read on this match, Jordan? I just don't think they're going to take the belt off. I just don't think they're going to take the belt off MJF yet. I do want Darby to win it really bad, though, man. i just I feel like that guy has done so much for this company, and he just literally puts his body on the line every week. I mean, if there's anybody deserving of it, it's him.
00:10:06
Speaker
I just don't think it happens yet, unfortunately. We're up in the Pac-Nor West, man. Darby's home territory. We know who else is there who's been conspicuous by his absence last few months. I could see Swerve coming back and costing Darby the match just because. You know what i mean? I think that would set off. but That would be a fun... Swerve and Darby would be a really fun feud. And, you know, it doesn't need it to be anything...
00:10:26
Speaker
deeper than you know swerve's not gonna let darby have his crowning moment on what he considers his home turf you know i mean something like that it's it's not the great it's not gonna be the greatest wrestling story ever told but i think it's good enough to to buy for a dollar and i think it'll be some badass matches going forward man he did that's my call i'm picking swerve comes back and cost you did say it's show time on saturday night so like fuck who knows maybe stink comes back and helps him Bro, what if we get to put the fancy boogie hat? What if we get Swerve come out to try to cost him, dude? And it's like, okay, here we go. This is what we're thinking. And then Sting comes out and freaking stops Swerve. And then Darby wins. Like, dude, the roof will blow off of that place, man. I might have tears, dude. That would be a a tear-inducing moment.
00:11:09
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, did we want to dark. The story was set up until I still think in my my heart of hearts, bro, until he decided he wanted to go do this Mount Everest thing. I think he was the original plan was that he was going to be the one to take down the Death Riders. That's what we were setting up from the start. And then he was gone. And it just and then Hangman did, you know, organically caught fire. And they pivoted. ah But I don't know, man. Yeah, Darby won the belt. moment. He's such such... You know, he's the new Jeff Hardy, man. That's really who he is, dude. Like, he you know, people want to compare him to Sting because they had the partnerships and stuff. But no, he's Jeff Hardy, dude. The constant underdog.
00:11:38
Speaker
Puts his body on the line and has just got this off-the-charts charisma. No matter what. Yeah, without even being, like, super great on the mic, dude. He just... ah The fans just buy into everything that he's doing. So it's going to be fun, man. It's, you know it takes a lot to get me, you know, straight up locked in for weekly wrestling TV at this point, but I will be locked in tomorrow night to see what happens. Yeah. I think Darby just authentic, dude. I feel like he just puts off there's a real truly authentic energy, man. Like, yeah I feel like who he portrays on screen is really who he is is in life. Like you said, he just dialed it up.
00:12:08
Speaker
So, yeah, I think that that works. Are we going moving on to, uh, but so Let's move on to Mania, dude. We got a slog. Jordan, what are you sipping on, man, as we record? I'm doing a Bush Light.
00:12:20
Speaker
Dude, i'm I'm so just over this Mania, but I had to pour me a stiff one, man. I'm drinking a Maker's Mark and a cherry ginger ale, which is actually a primo combo, man, for anybody out there that's looking for a nice a nice cocktail

Mixed Feelings about WrestleMania and Celebrity Involvement

00:12:33
Speaker
for this weekend, dude. The Canada Dry with a splash of cherry with the Maker's Mark, is it's bomb.
00:12:37
Speaker
um she know chugging coffee right now or what do you got going on i was about to say i preemptively i didn't know you ever i didn't know everybody was bringing a cocktail to the table tonight but i uh i preemptively drank a um iced coffee i made me a nice iced coffee here and i'm chasing it down with some high quality h2o so she celebrates a son of a bitch say the least man um Yeah, dude, this, I think it's just, now, there's a chance they wow us this weekend, dude. I'm not giving my hopes up just because the overall, just in shittification for TKO, it's just in full effect at this point, man. On paper, this is a banging card, though, dude. Like, well, there is, there's a badass WrestleMania to be had with we got in front of us, but...
00:13:19
Speaker
Yeah, the the potential is there, but the potential for TKO to just take it and like turn it into something else. I feel like, yeah. i Go ahead. I was just going to say, there's a high probability. Yeah, I think we're getting overloaded with ads, man. The Green Gear is probably going to be branded in some way, dude. Yeah, well, we know Liv Morgan's, her match is sponsored by Fortnite. She's coming to Fortnite this week. So I imagine we're going to see Liv in her Fortnite skin, which could be cool. That could be a fun one. Just because we love Fortnite. If you don't care about Fortnite, you're going to be like, God. thinking we're getting a ton of ads. Really, the big thing that sticks out above all else, man. I can forgive the ads, dude. I've told you guys. I don't really mind the slower pace. It gives me a chance to go get a refill, get snacks, get the kids, tend to whatever the kids are needing and stuff, man. I don't mind the slower pace on these shows. But...
00:14:03
Speaker
ah they wellll we'll just that we kind of dive in and we're backwards, dude. The all-time fumble of this Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton story. It's going to be something that's studied over the years, man. Now, they they've gummed up Cody's road to WrestleMania the last three years at this point. You know, 39, we had Vince. Depending on who you listen to, either Vince got and made a power play or Roman and Paul Heyman came in and politiced and at the last second they convinced everybody that Roman needed to win and hold the belt a whole other year. before 39. WrestleMania 40, we had the Rocket involved to try to hijack the main event. Then we had this sloppy pivot that ended up working out for the best, but it was a mess. And then last year, we obviously had the Travis Scott and John Cena debacle. And now it's happening again, man. we got You got this feud between two guys that got...
00:14:48
Speaker
Organic, legitimate intimate history. yeah Awesome story. It's a match that WWE has been so patient on. because Dude, if I was in charge, I would have been tempted to have this. If Cody doesn't get hurt, his first summer. Once he gets done with Seth, we're moving to to Randy Orton. But they were super patient. Finally pulled the trigger on this feud with so much built-in lore. And somehow, this story is revolving around freaking Jelly Roll and Pat McAfee, man.
00:15:10
Speaker
Yeah, I just... I mean, Jelly Roll, it is what it is. He's been there numerous times. I know Pat McAfee used to be an announcer, whatever. Dude, that was the biggest drizzling shits introduction I think I've ever seen in wrestling history. Like...
00:15:28
Speaker
I don't even know ah why they thought that was going to work or how. We were so intrigued by this Randy Orton. Who's he talking to? People were fantasy booking Shane McMahon. going to say Shane McMahon would have been. Vince McMahon, bro. You know what I mean? Like anything. And it was Pat McAfee of all people. do Bro, i'm not going to lie. When they pan the camera to him on that night, because i was ba I was a little bit locked in at that point because I wanted to see who they're going to bring back because I'm like, oh, shit, they might actually bring somebody important back.
00:15:55
Speaker
And then it was Pat McAfee. i literally just like dropped my head. I'm like, dude, we are in full TKO mode now. Like, there's no fucking way Triple h would have been like, oh, yeah, this is what's best for business.
00:16:09
Speaker
it's It's crazy. didn't need to add anything to that. you didn't Like you guys just said, you didn't need to add anything to that match. It needed nothing. It needed nothing, let them out there and wrestle.
00:16:20
Speaker
Best case scenario, I heard you know Sam Roberts today, I was listening to his podcast. He was like, Jelly Roll, can you just come in and take Pat McAfee out from the beginning? And then you know that would be the best case scenario. And then Randy and Cody can have have their match without a bunch of just like shenanigans and stuff. I don't think that's happening. don't think that's happening. like the bell rings the best case everybody knows you don't really got to pay attention to what's going on until these fucking guys get bought and dude i like pat mcathee and i like jelly roll man i don't mind any of you the one being in the mid card dude yeah i show speed i'm not i can't stand i show speed but i get it our son brett he's eight years old he's totally intrigued by it he's excited to see i show speed wrestle i get that and i don't mind somebody being in a celebrity being in a six-man tag in the mid card somewhere you You know what i mean? Like, I prefer the Usos be doing something more important. But regardless, I got no problem with with I should speak. I would have no problem with, you know, Jelly Roll and Pat McAfee being involved somewhere in the mid card, man. Or if you want to you know, if you want to pivot and do something Backlash with this tag team match. But, dude, I cannot stand that these guys are going to be involved in this match that otherwise was going to be amazing, man, for for the main event on night one.
00:17:23
Speaker
Yeah, just shoehorning them into this for no reason. i'm like There's literally no explainable reason for them to be involved in this at all. like If there was some kind of backstory... You're Charlie from freaking Always Sunny. There's no red line. You know what i mean You cannot have a red line that connects this to make it make sense. You know what i mean? like It's just like so totally disjointed... And it's I feel like Pat McAfee and Jelly Roll are both more suited for the like their personalities, just like their level of ability. Like, why is this involved in the main event of night one?
00:17:58
Speaker
You know? i to sell tickets which it did not do didn't pat mcafee had to get on there and shill for a freaking 25 discount you know like i think it's to sell tickets for mania they're trying that this the story behind it is that they're trying to make pat mcafee this giant breakout crossover media megastar dude because he's represented by endeavor right the company that owns tko he's an endeavor you know personality talent whatever and they're they're thinking this is going to somehow level him up. But I think they're just out of touch, man. I think when him and poor Jelly Roll, who, you know, he was a a giant babyface for this, I feel like they are both getting the shit food out of them on Saturday night as soon as they make their appearance on on the scene, man. So hopefully โ€“
00:18:40
Speaker
Triple H is a smart guy. I still got faith in Triple H, but I'm starting to feel like he has less and less juice in the company as days go by. feel like he's the guy that's in charge until the guys are really in charge show up. You know mean? Right. And then he just gets steamrolled. Yeah, he's like overseeing everything. And then it's like when you work retail, your district managers show up. Yeah. They're coming in to change everything. Yeah, dude. So...
00:19:01
Speaker
ah You know, again, I kind of liked freaking the idea that, you know, you guys had to like start of it. Give us a big spot at the start. Have Jelly Roll put come out, put Matt Pat McAfee to a table. Yeah. Boom. They're they're out of the picture and you can still go back and do a tag. man they got to have Yeah, they got to have their five minutes. And yeah, exactly. you can carry it over into what's next. Backlash.
00:19:21
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Have backlash. I think that's a totally appropriate place for them to to be involved. But. yeah dude here's here's my thing about just like this this whole like build to wrestlemania too i get wwe as an entertainment company but during wrestlemania season that's the one time where it always seems like they put that on hold a little bit and it turns back into what it is which is a wrestling company yeah dude this year it's been full-on entertainment only that there's nothing Nothing is sacred anymore. Nothing is sacred anymore, dude. It is all about the bottom dollar and just squeezing every ounce of, uh, you know, attention and money out of, out of people. du And again, this is like a mid summer pay-per-view.
00:20:05
Speaker
I could give two shits about it, but it did it's WrestleMania and it's the main event of the first night of WrestleMania. Like there has to be some things that are a little bit sacred in wrestling and a main event of WrestleMania has to be one of them. This should not be. i agree, man. don't celebrities. up Celebrities have always been a part of wrestling, Go back to WrestleMania 1. They're all over the place. Go back to Bash at the Beach, 97 and 98. You know, you got Karl Malone and Dennis Robin. That's the thing. But like you said, dude, let let this be the main let this main event night one at SummerSlam. You know what mean? Not WrestleMania, dude. I feel like the the term celebrity used to actually mean something now, dude. Like celebrity is so watered down nowadays. It's like internet personalities. I mean, I know those are the modern day celebrities and stuff. But yeah, i mean, if you had freaking, you know, these mega athletes and all these like, you know, super high profile people that have been on TV and stuff like I feel like that's totally different level of being a celebrity. Lawrence Taylor coming into WWE actually felt like something because Lawrence Taylor can actually fuck you up. Yeah, but he can actually fuck you up. Like nobody's scared of Jelly Roll or Pat McAfee. Like, come on, man. Mike Tyson in WrestleMania 14. That meant something. Yeah. And they tied it.
00:21:15
Speaker
And, you know, Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels, that that was a cold feud. That wasn't this deep storyline. That was literally Austin was the champ. Or excuse me, Shawn Michaels was the champ and Steve Austin won the Rumble. And DX got Mike Tyson in their corner just to to help out, man. you know And that that that was all organic and it wasn't this you know this super rich storyline that everybody had been waiting to see play out. and then all of a sudden, like you guys said, you get these guys just... jammed in there for for no reason whatsoever, man. Yeah.
00:21:42
Speaker
Yeah, dude. So, I don't know, man. that That's been the biggest thing that's just turned me on. me Everything else has been, you know... Decent. I can kind of get behind everything else on here, dude. The... let's Let's just go through night one, man. We'll go match by match. and kind of go All right, so we're kicking off the show ah with The Vision, Logan Paul and Austin Theory, and I Show Speed ah versus The Usos and LA Knight. They're having a six-man tag match. Again, i don't got crazy beef with this, man. I just wish that we had...
00:22:09
Speaker
um the tag belts get defended on night two. You know I mean If we're doing this match on night one, let let me have, do something. have ah Have a old school tag team battle royale on night one and and we see those tag belts get defended the next night, man. I hate that we're not getting either either sets of tag team titles defended at WrestleMania.
00:22:28
Speaker
Right. Dude, also, Usos had such a presence at the last five WrestleManias. And the fact that this is what they're doing this year. is that It's a step back. But I think the potential for them to get involved in night two is there, too. I think I think they can still I think they can still have a big moment in night two. So I think maybe just having a low key night one. So people kind of forget, you know and they're like, oh, the Usos already had their moment. And then. You know know, they've also, because they've gotten so tied up with this vision thing, they faded the Usos' involvement with the Roman and CM Punk feud. I still think there's a very, you know, we'll get to it, but I still think there's a very real chance they end up aligning with CM Punk. Yeah, mean, that's what I'm talking about, yeah. Um, so yeah, it's going to be fun. you know, again, like you said, I think Seth said, you know, in the Facebook group, nothing makes me feel older than when people try to make me care about iShowSpeed, you know, and that's exactly how I feel because I'm just like, it's whatever. Brett locks in though when he's on screen, bro. Brett's intrigued by man. Like i said, I, I, I get it. It's just, it's just not, it's hundred percent. It's just not for us, man. Yeah. It's not for us. um
00:23:28
Speaker
We got Jacob Fatu versus Drew McIntyre. I think this is going to be an awesome match, but I do think um you know the the tea leaves, I can read the tea leaves, and Jacob Fatu is going to come away with the victory here. I don't know who's winning this one, man. I just did a WWE-style hardcore match. The deck is stacked so far against them because we've seen โ€“ One, internet wrestling is so accessible now, you've got a ton of people that have seen all kinds of crazy stuff, whether through Juggalo Championship Wrestling or GCW, and just the stuff that AEW is doing for more mainstream options, man. And there's just absolutely, at the whatever the most hardcore thing that they're going to allow to happen on WrestleMania Night One, it's paling in comparison, bro, unless they're sending us some some sort of Hollywood-type stunt back. backstage and and i have a hard time believing this and it's it's not even behind the paywall like this is like espn to be on espn so it's already going to be a bit watered down because it's for this like mainstream non-paying audience so that is going to be part of that free hour yeah on yeah now that does make me think maybe they do something over the top bro that's why i said i could see i could see so you know i could see potentially we get them go out you know they go out the street or yeah And we see some sort of pre-taped style, freaking live, you know, some some sort of freaking, ah you know, happening to Gorilla Monsoon to try to lock people in. But um I don't know, man. Like I said, any any unsanctioned WWE stuff, I kind of like, i feel I feel for the wrestlers, man, because I feel like we've seen too much. Yeah, we've seen too much at this point, man, that it's ah it's just tough to really deliver on the violence people are expecting from this kind of thing.
00:24:58
Speaker
Yeah. um Speaking of, you know, behind the paywall, one of our, excuse me, one of our Foley fan members asked, you know, he's like, Hey, does anybody know how I can get this for free without, you know, without having to subscribe to ESPN? So I looked it up and there's a bunch of places that have, like you can't get a free trial directly through ESPN, but there's a bunch of like places where you can get the free trial um and watch WrestleMania and then, you know, cancel before your free trial. So Google that if you don't have like a VPN or you don't have ESPN. So that way you don't have to All right, moving on, we got ah Stephanie Vaquer versus Liv Morgan. um I'm going with Liv on this one.
00:25:34
Speaker
ah Yeah, Liv's got the monster push behind her, dude. Freaking, she you know she had a big music video drop this week, which, what'd you guys think of that? Yeah. Yeah, was so it was something. It was there.
00:25:46
Speaker
is there Is that really a thing, man? is is Are they going to try to make a live music career happen or do you guys think that's just something extra for WrestleMania? It was like Kesha and, you know, 2000s Britney Spears' little sister, you know? um putting out a music video. The the video was fine. I think Liv looked incredible. The lyrics were not not it, um but, you know, it was fine.
00:26:10
Speaker
Very Liv Morgan. Yeah, I think Liv goes over. I feel like Liv's kind of dominated this feud so far. It seems like she's got she's got the juice right now. AJ and Becky, I'm assuming Becky wins since AJ's a part-timer, but I don't know. This one could go either way. I feel like I've barely even seen this match getting, like, much build on TV. No. this is This is just another match on the WrestleMania card.
00:26:31
Speaker
Yeah. Same way with the Fatal 4-Way. That's another one. That's like the classic diva spot. I can see the ladies going out there and busting their ass to try to steal the show, but I'm not. The excitement level is pretty low for that one as well. Yeah, there's a chance. I guess Nikki Bella is, you know, she's got some sort of injury, so it's still TBA whether or not she's going to be able to be in the match, and I've heard that they're going to do the Kabuki Warriors if uh the bill has had to drop out so i wonder if that's why ah you know it seems they've had such a solid build man that you'd think we'd get oscar know it feels like oscar and io should be a match for mania i wonder if that's why they waited on pulling the trigger on making that official so that way they get them ready to sub in in case the bills are still hurt Yep. Possible. set thing Seth and Gunther should slap in the ring, but dude, you know it's already been out there that Braun Breaker is cleared. So like similar to the Randy and Cody match we talked about, I feel like this one, you're just waiting for Braun to show up, man. like i didn't I didn't even put that as like a bonus pick for the the Foley Picks League because ah it's it's you know it's a 99.9% lock, man, that this thing's happening, that Braun's showing up. you know Yeah. it's other think I still think prior to Braun potentially showing up, this match is going to be a freaking banger, dude.
00:27:39
Speaker
I hate that that's what we have to look down the barrel at, though, is like Gunther and Seth are to have this banger of a match it's just going to get ended on that kind of finish. Like, dude. Again, build has been bad.
00:27:53
Speaker
Yeah, I wish, you know, I get it because they probably don't want either one of those guys taking a clean loss since they're both. I'm sure they have big things planned for both of them over the next year. But if they could have come, you know, sprinkle out to the dirt sheets so that they know like, hey, yeah, Braun Breaker will not be back in time for WrestleMania. So at least we got some intrigue on it where it's a little bit of a surprise. But now it's just, yeah, it's dead. I feel like, yeah, everybody, you can already see how that match is going to end.
00:28:14
Speaker
All right, we've already went in depth on Cody versus Randy with the addition of Pep McAfee. I'm thinking Randy wins. I'm thinking Cody does the J-O-B at Mania. Oh, I think 100%. Yeah, I think 100% Randy. Randy's winning this and getting number 15. Night two, for kicking off the night with Obafemi and Brock Lesnar. Again, I think this should be this should be awesome, dude. Just two meaty men slapping man meat. Like...
00:28:39
Speaker
This is going to be awesome. Should Well, hopefully hopefully Brock shows up motivated, man. You never you never know what Brock's going to do. I think he This be four minutes and and we're out of there, dude, or it could be freaking and fire. i think i think it could be I think it could be good, dude. I think Brock Lesnar is a fan of Obafemi, and I feel like you know when when Brock wants to sell and Brock wants to to you know make the other person look great, he absolutely can. so Who do you guys think wins? i think I mean, this one could go either way. I'm hardcore rooting for Obafemi, but I would never i would never put it past WWE, especially since this is, again, before the paywall. It's going to be on ESPN, like putting Brock Lesnar over on ESPN. that would just make It makes sense, um but my heart is pulling for Oba. that story came out that you know brock doesn't uh plan on doesn't want to lose until this farewell match you know but you never know how much of that stuff is i feel like half the stuff that gets up to the dirt sheets is stuff that they would be just plants to to kind of seed doubt and stuff yeah i mean brock i mean he just he literally went on that interview and saying and you know wins don't mean anything to me dude he said oh yeah he's definitely he's like money give me money yeah give me pay give me paid and brock's never been selfish about you know putting people that's never been a thing that he's had a problem putting people over and stuff but uh I think the biggest question is how motivated is he to to go out and do his best? Because when Brock's at his best, he's one of the best wrestlers ever, man. I met i mean, dude, he has been there weekly for this build, so I'll give him that because I feel like that's been few and far between in the matches he's had. in the last couple years do i to me this is the most exciting match of the weekend to me like i the way they built this has been so good and i love oba and he better win dude if he loses i'm gonna be really disappointed like there's there's no point in brock winning this match i feel like it's gonna suck some air out of the building man if uh if obo loses
00:30:31
Speaker
Yep. I believe this six pack ladder match is also for the Intercontinental Championship is also um on the you know the first hour. So it's Penta versus Javon Evans versus Dragon Lee versus JD McDonough versus Rusev versus Rey Mysterio.
00:30:47
Speaker
To me, I think you got a two-dog race, man. I think Pinta retains, or I could see him having the WrestleMania moment and have Rey get one more run with the IC title, man. I could see Rey winning this thing for the nostalgia pop.
00:30:57
Speaker
I think Javon Evans is dark horse for the chance to get it. I'm going for Javon Evans, dude. I really want Javon to have a moment. The fact that this is on ESPN, I think that bumps up Rey Mysterio's freaking his chances, man. But Pinta's so great. I could see Pinta winning as well. It's going to be a match. And he's just super charismatic, too, dude.
00:31:15
Speaker
Penta's the man. I think Javon Evans does win. like that' That's who I'm picking. I feel like he's going to win. they They've put so much into him in the last couple months. i just i yeah say He would be the youngest Intercontinental champion ever.
00:31:27
Speaker
ah they Jeff Hardy won when he was 23. Javon's, what, 20? They love them and they lineate like love those records. ah i say howgeon just tap his name right there yeah he's twenty two twenty two so yeah he would Be the youngest. He's 21. He turns 22 at the end this month.
00:31:49
Speaker
Okay, so he's 21. I mean, that's what he that's still really young to become a champion. Especially WWE. All right, that's going to be a huge spot fest. It's going to be you know sports entertaining 100%. I'm going for Javon. I do agree with Seth that either Penta or Rey could win just for the fact that it's on um ESPN. Next, we got Jay Cargill versus Rhea Ripley for the Women's Championship.
00:32:16
Speaker
ah Yeah, the wet wet fart noise all the way, dude. Unfortunately, and enough and I have liked both these women. I love Rhea Ripley. um i'm I'm disappointed in Jade. You know, I sold all my Jade stock a while back. um I think Rhea rolls, man. that they I think the crowd will rebel if Jade wins. Yeah, yeah I think Rhea's taken this 100%. The card-toting member of the Jade Cargill can't wrestle club for the last five years is standing tall because Jade Cargill cannot wrestle.
00:32:47
Speaker
True. Yeah. It's sad, sad realization, unfortunately, because she's got the it factor. She's got the aura, but ah yeah, it's all, all sauce and no sizzle again. She's still, you know, mean, what she's just five years. I still think that's very, i mean, she wasn't like, I mean, I would say it's been five years. yeah yeah i don't yeah but I mean, she wasn't like rule. Like, I feel like people do five years in WWE and sometimes just hit their stride when they did like, you know, 10 years previous in the freaking like independent circuit. i't mean I don't feel any different in her wrestling than I did when she was in year one of AEW. I don't feel like she's improved. You're right. There is that that. There hasn't been any signs of improvement either, which is like what which is unfortunate. why Are we all of a sudden just going to think she's going to turn into this like world-class worker? It's just not happening. She's going to turn into Kairi Sane after two more matches, man. Yeah, I said it before. I do think it's just a total different. She came from a different landscape. dude She was a bodybuilder. The strength and like the strength and muscle and stuff that she has isn't like that functional athleticism type of muscle. if You know what i mean? It's just it's all show and no go. So, um yeah. Sorry, Jade. Going with Rhea. We got Sami Zayn versus Trick Williams for the U.S. ah championship. I'm going for my man Trick, dude. Yeah, I think they cement the double turn. Sammy's going to be getting booed. I think we get to see Trick get crowned, man. This should be a fun one.
00:34:09
Speaker
Trick better win this match. like ah but Again, what is the point of Sammy Zane winning this match? None. But then again, it is TKO booking right now, so anything could happen at this point, but I just don't see any way Trick loses this match.
00:34:26
Speaker
All right, any thoughts on Trick and Sammy? Yeah, I think Trick goes over strong, man. All right, next up, we got a singles match, the Demon, Finn Balor. We got the Demon back and Dominic Mysterio. I mean, if you're bringing the Demon back, I don't want to say that he can't lose because historically that's not true. He lost the last two times we saw him. Yeah, yeah but but we have... I don't think we're getting a three-game, three-match. Right, I don't think you can bring the Demon back in this way. and I think the question here is, do we get a classic Demon just...
00:34:55
Speaker
you know, ah squash. I could see him just beating the shit out of Dom for like three minutes and that being it. Yeah, especially since it's right before the the main event, dude. Just be a quick little, you know, wham, bam, thank you, ma'am. Yeah. ah so um I think it's 50-50 if the the match lasts longer than the entrance.
00:35:11
Speaker
Yeah, true. Very true. um The Demon's entrance at WrestleMania will be sick, dude. Yeah, it'll awesome. And lastly, the world title match. We got CM Punk and Roman Reigns in the main event. Roman Reigns' 11th WrestleMania main event. It's insane. Pretty wild. and Yeah, he's putting he's he's already got the record. He's putting distance on ah on the ah the record for all-time main event events at this point, man. Just an incredible run over the last decade. um Dude, the story all the storyline build you know leads me to think Punk's winning. That's kind of what what the cards have been into, but...
00:35:44
Speaker
Roman could always win just because, man. i think this is pretty close to 50-50 on who takes it, but gun to my head, I think CM Punk leads with the belt. I'm going with Roman, man. I've always been on Roman.
00:35:58
Speaker
I'm going to go Punk. I just... I hate the dude. I literally cannot stand the dude, and I never will be able to. So none of the cheers and all this shit... Dude, this feud has completely jumped the shark. It has, yeah. We saw them way too much. they are yes but Why did they roll them out so much do face-to-face? You needed face-to-face, the Raw after the Rumble, and then do a contract sign at some point. The story already told itself, dude. The same thing we said when it first happened. Do the UFC-style build. Give us some little mini five-minute documentary-style videos through the weeks to build this thing up. and Give us a contract sign, and that's it. because It was such it's so awesome seeing these guys just look eye-to-eye, man, because this is kind of one of the big money matches in wrestling, these two guys one-on-one. And they, you know, I still think it's going to be awesome when the bells, you know, when they're staring eye to eye on Sunday or before the bell rings is going a great moment, but they definitely took some away from a violet, given us so much of these two together um over the last two months. Not to mention to me, when it really went over the edge was last week or two weeks ago, whatever that was when CM Punk's cutting this promo and right in the middle of it, he starts talking about McAfee. It's like,
00:37:11
Speaker
what the fuck, what are we doing here? Like, i I don't even understand what the point of all this is. I mean, again, me and Seth talked, well, we all talked about this when they booked this match. Like, okay, we don't need them on every week. Like the the night he talked about his dead dad, it's like... at that I was thinking, like, this is that that's got to be it, right? That's got to be the last time these two are the ring together. CM Punk was on the mic every single week talking shit about him. It's like...
00:37:38
Speaker
Dude, what are we doing? i just, i don't know. It's just gone way too far for me. And yeah, you didn't need to build this match again. Why did you do all that? This one, it's to a way lesser extent than Cody and Randy, but yeah, still, man. Like, on paper, dude, if you told me the night after WrestleMania 41, hey, next year we're going to Saturday night's going to be Cody and Randy, and Sunday night's going be CM Punk and Roman, I'm like, boom. That's badass, dude. Two awesome main events. Those are layups, man, to nail everything about it. And yeah, they've they they've managed to freaking jack up. Somehow muddy up they both yeah muddy up both main events for WrestleMania.
00:38:14
Speaker
Yeah. Either way, though, it is mania. You know, it's always a fun time, dude. You know, I'm hoping that this is a WrestleMania 31 situation where we're going into it slightly less than infused and they up just, you know, knocking our socks off. We'll see. I'm going to I'm going to keep an open mind and allow myself to be sports entertained this weekend. But it's you know, there's a lot of there's a lot of potential potholes on the path to a really, really great WrestleMania.

TKO's Profit Focus and WWE's Future Ownership

00:38:40
Speaker
yeah Yeah. I'm excited. I i mean, it's going be a fun weekend. We're going have fun. We got my mother-in-law's coming in. The kids are going be stoked, you know, so it's it's going to be fun. I am not as optimistic as Seth. Like you said, I am very sensitive to the TKO effect. Like I hate this, like, you know, late stage capitalism, like just just black mirror type throw in the ads all in your face, acting like, you know, every single red cent possible. Make every single red cent possible. Like, know, you've already got this building with all these people who paid thousands and thousands of dollars to get in there. And then you're just trying to squeeze every dollar out of the audience. And, you know, like, like, it's not hard times, you know, like gas isn't freaking $4 a gallon and, you know, groceries aren't higher than giraffe punani, you know, so. I want to hear from somebody who goes on this Cody Rhodes bus tour around Las Vegas. The $10,000 Cody Rhodes bus tour. I want to know what Cody does. And, you know, Cody said, he's like, I feel bad that people paid that much. He said, so we're going to try to give them a really awesome and unique experience. I better be able to give, like, belly scratches to Pharaoh or something for that, dude. Smack Brady on the ass, dude. Like, something, bro. $10,000, man. There better be more than that.
00:39:45
Speaker
Wow. jordan Jordan wanting to, you know. Hey, I'm here for the gang pain. Yeah. I think you know what the other thing is too is like okay so they they cut back ticket prices three times already on the road to WrestleMania that alone tells you that they know it's overpriced like the fact that they've done that and they're still I mean didn't they say there's gonna be like 20,000 less people in the building each night than there was last year there was like 62 each night last year and they're expecting 42 this year like
00:40:16
Speaker
I wonder if they'll still making more dude. Yeah, they're making more money. They're grossing more money than last year. So they'll say... So what they'll do is they'll just change the verbiage. They'll talk about how biggest gate. Yeah, they'll say it's the highest grossing crowd of all time. And all people will cheer. Yeah, people will cheer. All the people will clap and be like, yay! But yeah, anything they sell is just icing, man. That's the thing, dude. Like, yeah, I definitely like...
00:40:38
Speaker
you know you're like shit man all those NBC's that's more people on but more money on tail they've already topped last year which last year was the highest grossed wrestling show of all time I mean and it works out for them too if there's less people in the building that's less manpower they need to run this whole show you know what I mean so it's like yeah they're they're cutting costs and making more money I think TKO is just going to, you know, the same thing we said and was going to happen when they buy it. They're going to continue to just milk this thing for everything it's worth. And then once the, ah you know, once profits really do start to drop, because I still don't think they've seen a true downfall. dude Everybody's been predicting WWE's downfall. for the last you know year and a half, two years, dude, they're still putting 10,000 plus at Raw and SmackDown pretty much every single um episode. But once the wheels do really start to fall off, man, there's a drop off, they're just gonna sell it to some other private equity firm or they'll sell it to the Saudis, dude. And that'll be it, man. like they
00:41:28
Speaker
They do not care. This is 100% a freaking a profit generating ah you know asset for them. And that's it, man. like they They could give a shit less it was WWE or Sesame Street or whatever. It's just something to freaking milk money out of consumers until there's no more money to be milked. And then they'll sell it off, man. And that'll be that. so i don know. That'd be my one, that one silver line. I would say to folks, man, if you're completely just turned out by TKO, I don't think, I don't think TKO, I don't think WWE and TKO are a thing five years from now. I think WWE is under different overall corporate leadership.
00:42:00
Speaker
If some, at some point in the next five years, man, what if it's, what if it's under, like, what if the Saudis own it though? I mean, i yeah I don't think that'd be as bad, dude. I honestly, it's un-American. Like I, it makes my skin crawl saying that. I think we'd be better off with the Saudis because the Saudis are just going to have it. It'll be part of their portfolio. They don't care about making money. The Saudis, they they acquire these sports brands just to try to help the image of the overall government, right? Like don't pay attention to all these civil rights abuses and this basically, you know, dictatorship that you guys are operating under. Pay attention to all these amazing sports and entertainments that that we provide to the world, dude. So honestly, like if the Saudis bought it, Triple H is going to be it for if you could get past the ethical concerns of it. I think the weekly product and stuff would be better with the Saudis owning it as opposed to TKO. I mean, I'm sure TKO isn't without its ethical issues either. No, TKO has crazy ethical issues. But I'm just saying, but the so as far as the weekly product goes, the Saudis could give a fuck less if it's profitable or not, man. It's just something to have for propaganda purposes. um Yeah, it's Riyadh season.
00:42:59
Speaker
Yeah, exactly, dude. So, yeah, like like I said, yeah it's it's absolutely horrible to say that, dude. But I feel like for wrestling fans, we actually would be better. out Now, you'd have more shows in Saudi, right? which Which I don't necessarily mind. But I do feel like some of the shit that some of the complaints we have with TKO would go away if the Saudis bought it. Now, those they could totally get replaced by just other complaints that are Saudi specific. But I think a lot of these issues would go away if somebody bought it. this still I hate to say it, man. Obviously, he's a pariah at this point. If Vince fucking came back in, you know, if TKO did decide they weren't good enough and Vince came back and got it, that wouldn't be the worst either, man. yeah I feel like if Vince got it, dropped ticket prices and brought back house shows, I feel like all sins would be forgiven, dude, with Vince, man. I really do, man. I don't think it would be that hard for people to forgive Vince, man. I mean, look at look'll get all the shit that President Trump's done, dude. And he still has freaking, absolutely freaking, you know, enthusiastic supporters out there, dude. People are lunatics. Yeah, I feel like Vince could get free get fully forgiven very easily. I feel like if Vince showed up at WrestleMania this weekend, people would fucking go nuts, man. mean, Brock is literally on the show, and that report just came out about Brock, about all the, like, intimate details of all that. He's yeah literally wrestling on WrestleMania. If you enjoy wrestling, if you enjoy anything in life, honestly, you have to i don't care what kind of activist you are, you're doing so you're participating in some system or you you own something that has
00:44:22
Speaker
ethical and moral issues you know mean just the the iphones you know i mean just owning an iphone is an ethical issue right so yeah it's it sucks dude what any smart any smartphone yeah i mean there are you know lithium mines with children you know let's say let's say it's night two and jade cargill and rhea ends the dust is selling off that match and we're just kind of in between segments and all of a sudden no chance in hell hits dude and vince walks out what what is the what do what do you think the crowd reaction is They're going to cheer. I mean, it's definitely to be a cheer, but...
00:44:53
Speaker
ah You just said it. Dude, people are just... i don't know. People are brainwashed, bro. I think people would go nuts, bro. i don't i don't I don't even think it would be like the Hulk thing where it's like you get some cheers and it gets replaced with booze. I think people i think people would be... Well, i we'd get a welcome back chant, dude. I think it would be a damn near unanimous fucking warm welcome warm return for for freaking Vince, man. I don't think he's coming back, and I do think... I don't think he's coming i also do think they're already setting us up for...
00:45:23
Speaker
Saudi to buy out TKO like I feel like that's why they're doing so many overseas shows and stuff like that like I already I seriously feel like it's coming and the fact that you have Riyadh season in the ring all the time like I just I feel like they literally are just setting us up for it TKO is just fattening up the pig for them to buy it from them and that'll be the end of it I'm telling you, I really don't think it would be the worst thing in the with the Saudis bottom, dude. As far as just strictly from a wrestling fan perspective, I feel like they would be way less hands-on, right? I feel like they would freaking let Triple โ€“ I got to imagine they would keep Triple H in charge, let him just do his thing. And they got endless pockets, dude. Maybe they buy AEW also, man. we get all We get my dream of just having one gigantic โ€“ all the best wrestlers in the world under one umbrella, man. Seth loves a monopoly, dude. It's not a monopoly, dude. It's not a monopoly.
00:46:15
Speaker
I just want to see everybody. If WWE bought AEW, that would not be a monopoly. I'm sorry. I want to see. I think that's the definition. If that happens, I think that ruins wrestling, dude. You guys don't want to see Roman face Kenny Omega? It's not that I don't, but i think yeah I think the further we get away from the TKO era and the certain people that are running the company, I think the more open to like a crossover event they would get. yeah true but dude if they bought aew that would be the absolute worst thing for wrestling because dude look what happened after they bought wcw after a year right it was just dead like it was so exciting when it happened and then a year later it was just dead dude they do the same thing to all the aw wrestlers that they did to the wcw guys it would just kill them off like yeah we would get roman and kenny and we'd get um osprey and rollins but what happens after that
00:47:04
Speaker
Fair play. Fair play. What about this, man? Let me pitch this to you. We know for a fact Tony Khan tried to buy WWE when it was for sale last time. What if TKO does decide to get rid of it and Tony Khan is successful and buys WWE this time? i would is that i wage your ticket I would also hate that. i would i Honestly, i mean i mean, what's what's Tony Khan's net worth, dude? Because honestly, I don't know. It don't matter what Tony Khan's net worth are. They bid $6.9 million. yeah Yeah, he's got daddy's worth. They got pockets, bro. His daddy got money, money. they They have enough money. If they wanted to, they could have been the high bidder for WWE last time. They bid $7 billion. dollars I know, but do you think you think it's going to be โ€“
00:47:42
Speaker
more than that they have more than that that's that's tony khan was that's that think about it dude all the stuff his dad owns his money the money tony khan you they're on a scale we can't imagine dude the money tony khan was bidding to buy wwe that's the equivalent if like you took when you took brett to walmart today and we're like hey pick out a toy that's what shad con was doing with tony khan man he's like hey pick your toy and he's like okay i want wwe dad and you know that that's what they're to bid they probably could have went higher if they if they were super motivated to get it man It says Shad Khan's net worth is $15 billion. That's just reported net worth. He has way more money than that.
00:48:16
Speaker
yeah i mean, dude, he owns ah a Premier League soccer team. He owns an NFL team and a wrestling company already. like That dude's got money, money. And they own the Jaguars, bro. Yeah, that's what i said, an NFL team.
00:48:28
Speaker
Yeah. ah And that the other thing about is that like we can't fathom, bro. That net worth, that's the money that he has. When you have that kind of money, you also you have access to other rich friends that can pitch in to form an investor group where you have just endless money. Or even more so than that, dude, you have the ability to get absolutely ridiculous loans from banks, bro. like They'll literally loan you freaking billions of dollars that you're going to pay back over you know over the years, dude, or not pay back because you it's rich people funny money, man. um So, yeah, I think that that that would be the more fun option. Right. Tony Khan buys if you just you know want to see the world burn and see see exactly what goes, you know, what what's the craziest timeline we can enter with pro wrestling. Could you imagine CM Punk's reaction if Tony Khan bought WWE? That might be the greatest meltdown in the history of meltdowns.
00:49:15
Speaker
Jungle Boy shows up on Raw. Yeah, this is real glass. Yeah, man. Yeah, we'll we'll see what happens, see big picture wise, man. but i think next next week we're going to do a review of WrestleMania and we'll kind of just do an overall state of wrestling, what we expect to see over the next year. Maybe we can dig a little bit deeper into this, but let us know.
00:49:33
Speaker
Let us know for the listener mail next time, man, the feedback. what do what do you guys How do you guys see this TKO WWE relationship playing out? Because to me, yeah like I said, I think this is like it's a transient thing. I think you're spot on. Yeah. I mean, and you can definitely tell, dude, they are, they, I mean, they, they hold held no punches, dude. When TKO came in, it was like off to the races, you It wasn't like this slow, um, you know, slow increase, slow change. It was just like overnight. Maximize profit. Everything changed. Yeah. So I totally, um I think your path is the right one. All right. So we're ready for listener mail. Yep.
00:50:12
Speaker
All right, our buddy Zach Herzler says, what wrestler will steal the show? I think Trick's going to be over huge with the crowd, man. I think i think Trick is going to be over huge. I think he's i think peep the powers that be behind WWE are going to come away from WrestleMania weekend saying, damn, like you know we need to really strap the rocket on Trick. I think he's an even bigger star than than we're thinking he is.
00:50:32
Speaker
Yeah, I think Javon has the potential um to just have like a big, fun, like, you know, a match that really shows off his his ability. So I think Javon can steal the show. I'm to say Jacob Fatu. i just I think we're we're going to be on ah a year long run after this mania of him just getting higher and higher up the card until he actually does win the title, because I don't see how you don't give that guy the title at some point in the next 12 months.
00:51:00
Speaker
All right. agreed Zach also says, what match will steal the show?
00:51:06
Speaker
i think that ladder match. I think they're going to pull. They're just going to do everything crazy, especially considering it's It's going to be highly highly sports entertaining for sure.
00:51:17
Speaker
I think the ladder match is to go off. I think Liv and Steph could be pretty good, man. They've got a pretty heated feud going. I think Liv's going to want show out. Steph is you know she's probably top five or six female wrestler in the world right now. So i think Liv and Steph could surprise some people with the actual in-ring quality that they bring. Yeah, I think i think if we if if the best-case scenario happens and we don't have um you know Pat McAfee and Jelly Roll just lingering around, I think i think Cody and Randy can really just you can't steal the show if you's the main event. Oh, that's true. the show well But they can steal the show because everybody's down on it. you know I mean? Everybody's like, you know, oh, fuck this. You know, so maybe they come out and actually they actually deliver. Pat McAfee's going to be in the center of the ring with a mic during the match.
00:51:59
Speaker
You know, actually wouldn't that would actually be half ass entertaining if he did just have him a mic that was like hooked into the speakers and he's just talking shit during the match. Like, oh here goes Cody again. Look at this. Yeah. Talking shit. um Matt Carpation says, if you wrestled your WrestleMania dream match right now, current roster, as a wrestler, who would you fight and what are the steps?
00:52:22
Speaker
I'm in there with Roman, bro. That's the biggest money match. I'm trying paid, man. Put me in with Roman. Just straight up no DQ, man. I feel like that's the best you can have. don't need... I feel like if you say it's an unsanctioned match, like Jacob and Drew, you're indicating that it's going to be straight up ultra-violent, right? going to see something crazy. I feel like no DQ just lets you know, hey, we're going to get a freaking winner on this. I'll keep it simple. I'll give the TKO profit-based answer and say, I want Roman in a no DQ. Jordan?
00:52:48
Speaker
Jordan? I'd go Rollins and I would squash him in the main event. And then I'd have ah FSP on the bottom of my boots and I'd make him zoom in or at the end, fuck Seth Phelps. Wow.
00:53:02
Speaker
Wow. i figure I figured you would say you get the fucking one more match and you have the farewell match with Trish Stratis, dude. Jesus. Intergender against your stress. There ain't going be much of a match there, earlier buddy. it It'd be over before I got to the ring. Jordan's calling all the spots. He's do the devil's kiss. She's like, that's not I don't want to take this. Do the devil's kiss, God damn it. My face up, not down.
00:53:28
Speaker
Jordan's hitting power bombs nonstop, dude. Just holding her there. Yeah, doing the fucking Devon Dudley headbutt, dude. Like, yeah. Wow. That was quality.
00:53:41
Speaker
Yeah. I'll probably just do a a hardcore match with Rhea, dude. i wouldn't I wouldn't mind, you know, getting thrown around by Rhea Ripley a little bit, you know? Getting roughed up by Mommy. That wouldn't be the the worst thing in the world.
00:53:53
Speaker
ah Good question, Mac. really good. Johnny JB, what do I have to... Poor Johnny. What do I have to do to get my first win in the Foley Picks League? He's 0-6 in the last two weeks. He's lost in the tiebreaker. So for those that aren't you know in the Facebook group or in Fully Picks League, we always have. So you you pick all the matches and a couple of bonus picks for each show. And if it's tied, the tiebreaker is always the ah the match length of the main event. And Johnny JB is winless.
00:54:18
Speaker
He's the last person to ah to to get in the win column, man. He's 0-6 at this point. In the last two weeks, he's lost on the tiebreaker, man. So he's ah he's he's running to the Curt Hawkins gimmick, man, of just losing every week in a different unique way it. So we'll we'll see if WrestleMania

WrestleMania Excitement and Event Structure Comparisons

00:54:33
Speaker
is the ticket. Yeah. Just just keep it going, Johnny. We'll give you a we'll give you a you know a winless prize at the end if ah if you end up getting a winless season. um Phil Dunn says, how hyped are you for Mania? On paper, it looks good like a good event, but I just don't have the usual Mania excitement. We already kind of touched on that. Johnny says he agrees. And yeah, Phil said it just feels kind of flat, which I mean, agreed. Yeah, it's still Mania. It should be pretty fun once it gets here. But yeah, it's less than ah less than exciting going into it.
00:55:02
Speaker
Tony Barker says, who's the biggest WrestleMania snub this year? Got to be EO, man. EO's had such an awesome year. And if she, I still think there's a chance something happens on SmackDown. And if the Bellas are going to go, we get Asuka and ah EO at it the last second, but I feel like it's far and away eo Sky. Yeah. Everybody needs to be praying for Nikki Bella's recovery this week.
00:55:21
Speaker
I think Tiffy's in there too, bro. The fact that Tiffy's not going to get here. man. had totally forgot. I think those two, yeah. So Io and Tiffy, they're the ones that super left out. I wouldn't even mad, man, if, say, the Bellas are out they got to put Asuka and Kyrie in there. Bro, just give us Sunday.
00:55:35
Speaker
Dude, you only got six matches. Fuck it. Throw Asuka and Tiffy, or throw Io and Tiffy in there. We're going to get the title shot, man. You don't need no story. But those two have earned WrestleMania match. And I usually say, like, I'm not big on, you know, they earned this. I say, let the card be what the card is. But, dude,
00:55:50
Speaker
Throw EO and Tiffy out there. Give him 12 minutes and that could end up being your your freaking show stealer the whole weekend, dude. and Just say winner gets a title shot. That's it, man. Like you don't need anything else. Yeah, I think it's Tiffany. I cannot believe she's not on this show. Yeah, you know, i was if she wasn't even on my radar, dude, I guess she wasn't on WWE's radar either. but um What would fix this too, man? And it's right there. They're already doing it on SmackDown. Dude, do the Battle Royals again, man. The Battle Royals, they're always fun. That's a great way to get everybody on the show, dude. Do the men's on one night, the women's on the other, man. When's the last time we had an Andre Battle Royale? They do the Andre every year, but they do it on SmackDown. Oh, that's right. That's right. It's still a thing, dude. Yeah. They just they do it on SmackDown instead of doing it, WWE and AEW have the same issues. Like the rosters are just so big. They can't possibly get everyone enough airtime. And I mean, dude, it's, it's good for like the fans that there's so much talent in the world of wrestling, but for like the actual wrestlers, I mean, so many of these people just get left in catering every week and,
00:56:49
Speaker
Don't ever get to show off what they can do in the ring. And I mean, it sucks, but don't mind it the rest of the year and not having everybody on the show. No, no, no. It feels like it feels like you really it feels like you took an L and lost momentum. If you end up not being on the not being on mania is a giant downgrade for her.
00:57:06
Speaker
Yeah, that's the one that's actually the one of the benefits that AEW has from not really having like a true hierarchy on their pay-per-views. Like, you know, all in is kind of become their biggest show. But even that, you know, they're only three years deep into it. And it it even though it's all it's in bigger or arenas, it doesn't feel like it's that much bigger of a show than the rest of the shows year round. So it's not like this gigantic snub if somebody doesn't end up on any particular AEW card. Whereas, yeah, it feels like it's almost like a message being sent. and Somebody's not on a mania, a mania match.
00:57:33
Speaker
Yeah, i mean, Tiffy and Eoskai were both the champ last year, and now they're not even on the show. Yeah, it feels like they've been in like the main storylines, man, for for their shows all year. So let's, yeah, if if there's one if I can make one last-second push for somebody just get a bonus match thrown on, it'd be those two.
00:57:48
Speaker
Tony also says, will WrestleMania ever go back to a one-night format? And what would it take for that to happen? I say never it makes business sense for it. Yeah. It makes business sense for it to happen. I don't know. I think you just can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. Wow. Jinx. Yeah, there's no way we're going. I mean, now this year, there's the two-night SummerSlam. Like, we're way too far gone. Yeah. Like, even the WrestleMania... We're actively going the opposite direction. No lie. I feel like if you made me pick, it's more likely we go to a three-night mania instead of a two-night mania, dude. I can

Brock's Retirement and Oba's Future in Wrestling

00:58:16
Speaker
see him that. Like, get rid of some night Friday night, yeah. Yeah, and we have three nights of WrestleMania, dude. I think that's more likely than we go back to one night.
00:58:23
Speaker
Yeah. ah Dougie Nunyahausen, he says, after Oba beats Brock, does Brock retire? Where does Oba go from here? Is he ready for this main title push? brocks They're making a big deal out of Brock's last match. He's not losing to Oba and retired. I think we're going to see if the rumors are true that he's you know actually got retirement in the...
00:58:43
Speaker
in the scope at this point, I see it happening at some, you know, SummerSlam is going to be in Minneapolis this summer. It seems like a perfect time to do it. I guess so my, my fantasy storyline for the reason that Gunther helped out Paul Heyman, you know, he said Paul Heyman owes him.
00:58:53
Speaker
I feel like the, the payback is going be that Gunther says he wants to be Brock's last match at SummerSlam. I think that's to be the, that's the night. He's going to be the career killer. That's the night one main event for sure. For SummerSlam.
00:59:05
Speaker
Yeah, ah that's that's my pick, dude. So no, I don't think he retires. i don't know what bro I don't know if Oba goes for the belt or not, man. i I like Oba, dude. To me, I feel like out of the guys who got called up recently, i still feel like Trix brighter prospect than Oba, man. i don't know. I just... I see...
00:59:23
Speaker
Maybe Oba is the next Brock. I feel like it's equally as likely that he's the next Braun Strowman, which there's nothing wrong with that, dude. Braun Strowman had a pretty dang good run, man, but I feel like it could go either way. I feel like he could end up being, you know, one of those two. I don't think i don't think i don't think Oba is as much of like a ah a lock for like the main event scene for the next five, six years as much as as much as some folks do now. I do like him a lot. I think he's good, but I still feel like it could go either way with him becoming...
