JORDAN DSENA
Thank you.

Introduction and Welcome

00:00:18
Holmesy
G'day and welcome to the Pod Pod brought to you by Moreira's Magic. I'm your host Holmesy, three-time top 10 finisher and twice runner-up in AFL Fantasy Classic.

Premium Defender Injuries

00:00:28
Holmesy
Round 19 has been and gone and shock. We have another premium injury, another premium defender injury, just to go with the 10 or so that we've had over the last sort of seven to eight weeks.

Rankings and Performance Discussion

00:00:42
Holmesy
Yeah, it's it's been a tough road. I know myself and Harmi are slowly on the on the slide with not much we can really do. But we do have two coaches on the pod that are just quietly flying a little bit and rising up the ranks. And I'll go i'll go there first, Jordy, mate. i <unk>s I know you do typically help me out with the show, Doc, but it was record pace this week and I didn't even need to ask, which means you must be up and about.
00:01:10
JORDAN DSENA
This is true. I reckon Monday morning, well, I got up for the World Cup match and I had the day, so I jumped straight in the show, Doc, and um yeah, I had a decent week, so i was looking at the options for Max Holmes and all that, so yeah, decent week.
00:01:18
Lew
ah
00:01:25
JORDAN DSENA
Ended up being 136th for the rounds, so a bit of a big one. All those uniques went well, so happy with that. Hopefully, we can... My goal is to try and catch you, Holmesy, so I think you're 2,000 ahead of me now, so... going try and get you, hopefully.
00:01:41
Holmesy
Nah, not when I bring in Bailey Williams this this week, mate, just to complete my side. Absolutely no chance, but you are going very well. It's very good to see that a member of the Pod Pod is charging home at the end of the year. We do love to see it. And we do have our two-time top 10 finisher and runner-up in 2019.
00:02:00
Holmesy
John Harmy, who we we just heard how happy Geordie is on the

Ken Hinkley and Tasmania Devils

00:02:04
Holmesy
pod. Still not as happy as this man after the announcement of Ken Hinckley as the inaugural Tasmania Devils coach, Harmy.
00:02:14
Holmesy
Man, what ah what a news week it's been for you.
00:02:17
Jon Harmey
Yeah, no, like a huge, huge weekend, Holmesy. Watching the Bombers get up over GWS, I didn't think life would get much better, but then obviously the next day, the big announcement with the Tassie Devils signing the greatest coach in the land. So we're obviously looking forward to welcoming Ken and his family to Tasmania.
00:02:40
Holmesy
sad John Longmire won a premiership, Harmy.
00:02:46
Jon Harmey
but Yes, yes.
00:02:47
Holmesy
Adam Simpson.
00:02:50
Jon Harmey
I think you're forgetting that the one that I was going for, im he James Hurt. He's won a premiership.
00:02:55
Holmesy
Oh, yeah, yeah.
00:02:57
Jon Harmey
And a Norm Smith and a Brownlow.
00:02:59
Holmesy
Fair enough. You know, Nathan Buckley been there in a grand final. But Ken Inkley, Ken Inkley.
00:03:03
Jon Harmey
Who? Yep. Man of the people.
00:03:07
Holmesy
Louie, what do you have to say about that, mate?
00:03:09
Lew
Yeah, um you're going to be rocking back and forth in a couple of years' time with ah Hinkley and Hurd as coaches for your respective teams. That's going to be ah some great content for sure.
00:03:19
Lew
But yeah, I don't really care. He's not my problem anymore, is he?
00:03:24
Lew
So good good luck to him over there. He was rolling out all the the classic used car salesman things that he would love to say at Port Adelaide.
00:03:24
JORDAN DSENA
Yeah.
00:03:34
Lew
So yeah. Yeah, see see how long that goes for him. But no, I wish

Round 19 Performance Reviews

00:03:39
Lew
him all the best. i wish Tasmania all the best too. I've always said he's is's pretty good. um you know Tactically, he he's absolute dogfarts. But in terms of getting a group sort of galvanized and connecting with young players, the the the poor players always really liked him. So um I think he's not a bad first choice just to you know get things started as long as you can piss him off before the whips start cracking.
00:04:06
Holmesy
And Harmi, if you need any help designing or making a sign, you know, pod. as
00:04:13
Jon Harmey
Yep.
00:04:14
Holmesy
Has you covered a bit of an inside joke there. All right, we heard from Louis. So let's get straight into the round that was.
00:04:18
JORDAN DSENA
Thank
00:04:20
Holmesy
And I will unfortunately kick us off this week. Wasn't even able to scrounge over 2200 with the 2198. Actually saw me hold rank, which was interesting showing that a lot of popular and sides up around that sort of 2000 range had ah had a down week.
00:04:39
Holmesy
My Stato pick of the week, Rowan Marshall was VC on Thursday night. 139 was very good to get that away, not to have to worry about the captaincy option, which, I mean, outside of Sheezle, I don't even have any at this stage of the year. So that's quite concerning.
00:04:55
Holmesy
Word is TDK might be back this week, which makes the Royal Marshall pick a little bit interesting, but hopefully we can keep riding that for a little bit longer. My Dossie pick of the week,
00:05:07
Holmesy
Finn Callaghan for a number of reasons. One, only putting up 88 against the mighty Bombers, Harmy, where midfielders have been putting up oneir s for fun but also the doubt that was around him over the weekend. So because there was the injury cloud concern, I couldn't risk looping on Hugo Hall-Cahan's 78, which meant that I had to field Fitzgerald for his 42. Now, everything's easy in hindsight.
00:05:35
Holmesy
He toned the week before, but I was definitely going to take that 78 just to to bank those points. So i it would have been 36 points better off, but... Hey, that is just fantasy.
00:05:46
Holmesy
Louis, you're up next, man. Ooh, harm me with a bit of a bounce back.
00:05:50
Lew
Yeah, ive got the 2208, which had my rank rise still. So I've graduated from the 20K club, i've graduated from the 15K club. I'm eyeing off the top 10K club now.
00:06:06
Lew
that's ah That's probably my goal for the rest of the year now. So, starter pick of the week, um' I'm going to give it to Zach Merritt just because I reckon there were some alarm bells that were sounding off with his form and sort of what was going on with the Dons and whether or not he may have checked out a bit. But, yeah, to bounce back with that 123 and played really well in that win too, that gives me a little bit of confidence moving forward for him.
00:06:32
Lew
ah And my dossie pick of the week is it's going to go to the man you mentioned before, Holmes. He's probably a little bit stiff just being a a rookie, but I'll give it to Fitzgerald. He's one that um I was actually relatively confident on field and and I sort of rejigged things after finding out about... um There was a late out late last week.
00:06:54
Lew
The name escapes me at the moment, but... Once I found that out, I had to rejig my trades and and he came on field. So I was hoping for something better than that. um But like you said, home to you, that is what it is now.
00:07:07
Holmesy
Can't believe you decided to rejig your side around to take the goat, Michael Selwood, off field, mate.
00:07:14
Jon Harmey
Mmm, same on you Lou.
00:07:14
Lew
Well, I'll tell you what, it is a good thing I did rejig my side because as you mentioned off the top of the show, we've got another forced trade with Max Holmes. And I think if I had continued with my my initial trades that I'd be probably two trades behind completing my side instead of the one. So onwards and upwards. And yeah definitely something that we're getting used to as fantasy coaches this season.
00:07:39
Holmesy
Please just give us one week. I'm desperate to get Farrow on field, the the cash on field, and the Daniels cash on field. Ah, well. Harmi, you're up.
00:07:50
Jon Harmey
Yes mate, I put up a 2-2-1-9 for the round. um Out in the dossier ranks that saw me get a small climb, hoping to get near ah the 10,000 like Lou I suppose, but we'll there we go.
00:08:08
Jon Harmey
I think for my Stato pick of the week, ah look, I think I should give it to Rowan Marshall for his 139, largely because it was such a layup um VC and I could just put away the captaincy for the week and didn't have to think about it. So that was really good.
00:08:25
Jon Harmey
But I think my Dossie pick of the week... Holmesy, i'm going to match you and throw it to a GWS player who I brought in. Didn't need these top liners like Baz because I thought I'll chase the um the nice run of Essendon, bring in Clayton Oliver.
00:08:47
Jon Harmey
I think he was on about 35 at halftime or 30 or something. So ended up on 70. Getting ah tagged by Joey Caldwell, who's just having a stellar season in the fantasy game. So, look, 70 points from Clayton Oliver. When I paid over a million bucks, that was pretty pretty hard to watch. But anyway, it didn't really matter because we got the win and I was happy enough.
00:09:12
Holmesy
Far out. Let's just quickly talk about that. What is up with GWS this year? Losing to Essendon and the Eagles, but beating Brisbane and f Frio.
00:09:24
JORDAN DSENA
Ridiculous.
00:09:25
Holmesy
Losing to the Bombers is bad enough. Hami, are you bit upset now that because of the great win you had on the weekend that you're not going to have the number one pick anymore?
00:09:33
Jon Harmey
We may steal, Holmesie. Give it time.
00:09:35
Lew
ah think Richmond have West Coast at home in a couple of weeks' time, so...
00:09:36
Holmesy
a I don't know.
00:09:40
Jon Harmey
Yep.
00:09:41
Holmesy
Oh, man, Richmond, they are cooked. Geordie, go on, mate. Tell us all how you went.
00:09:48
JORDAN DSENA
Yeah, I had a decent week, 23.46 in the end there. So yeah, 136 for the rounds. And the rank came in 2,500 spots. So 4,300 now. So yeah, like ah it'd be good if I could get top 2K. I think ill I'll aim for that. Obviously, there's only five weeks left. so And it's ah it's quite difficult now with the teams and and the premiums. um But yeah, a couple of the guys that I guess were the uniques that did well were...
00:10:18
JORDAN DSENA
I'll give it to two guys here. So Josh Dunkley with the 130. Harmi's got him as well. um But yeah, he was just marking. he He was back to marking. And that was my thing with him a couple of weeks ago is he had big tackle numbers, but he was also marking as well.
00:10:33
JORDAN DSENA
So that was one of the reasons why i got him. I wasn't just relying on the tacklers. I think he had 11 marks or something against the Eagles. So pretty happy with that one. And the other guys...
00:10:43
Holmesy
Hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on. I'm not going to go get the receipts, but I don't think you were as happy this time last week after the Essendon matchup, Jordy.
00:10:54
JORDAN DSENA
Yeah, he got 74. I did let Harmy know about that one last week, Harmy. But I didn't need him.
00:11:01
Jon Harmey
didn't need him. You didn't need him against the bombers.
00:11:03
JORDAN DSENA
Yeah, exactly.
00:11:04
Jon Harmey
It
00:11:05
JORDAN DSENA
i think that's what you said. You said, look, you didn't need to didn't didn't eat him. he He'll be back. And yeah, he was. So anyways, I'm happy with that. um I'm happy with, I think, you know, from now on in, he hopefully can um hold for the year for me.
00:11:21
Holmesy
Yeah, he's been he's been good.
00:11:23
Jon Harmey
should. Mm-hmm.
00:11:23
Holmesy
Jordy?
00:11:23
JORDAN DSENA
The other the other guy yeah, Caleb Sorong was the other guy brought in and he got the 1-11.
00:11:29
JORDAN DSENA
So that was a bit of a risky play. went Mkircha to Sorong. I just thought he was so cheap, we'll give it a punt against Port. And I actually went to the game and watched him. I don't know.
00:11:39
JORDAN DSENA
The role was wasn't, like he was he played well, but I wasn't, convinced on the role, it still feels like Brayshaw now is the main man. Like all the chip marks are going to Brayshaw in the middle and Brayshaw is going at like 110, I think in the last five.
00:11:50
Jon Harmey
Thank
00:11:53
JORDAN DSENA
So Sarong's just doing his thing, but I think Brayshaw actually might be the the pick at the moment. um And the dossie pick, I'll give it to, I'll give it to Josh Dacos, just 144 one week. Now he's down to 80. He's got a little ankle concern. He's just a such a yo-yo, hot and cold.
00:12:10
JORDAN DSENA
It's been so frustrating all year.
00:12:14
Holmesy
Yeah, bit of it, as you said, bit of an injury concern, which we'll get to as well. Harmi, I don't know if you were paying attention when Geordie was just speaking then, but you do realize you can actually trade out Colby McEacher, right?
00:12:27
Jon Harmey
Well, Kyle, after a let's have a quick look after a 71-point second half, why would I trade him out? I have to hold and i have to ho another week, don't I?
00:12:37
Holmesy
Yeah, is he a trade-in option?
00:12:41
Jon Harmey
These 14 points into first half, I was very concerned.
00:12:46
JORDAN DSENA
was a good rocket, Harmy, in the group chat.
00:12:48
Jon Harmey
Oh, mate.
00:12:48
Holmesy
It was a good rocket. Meanwhile, had bloody Luke Parker just stinking it up for 63. That was good fun. All right, a quick update on the Pod Pod Challenge. 17 coaches inside the top 100, so that number is climbing over the last couple of weeks, so really good to see. But special shout-out to the Powerhouse, who has charged into second place.
00:13:13
Holmesy
is now, what's that, 102 points behind first place after making up, what's that, over 100 points last week. so clearly in the Tundra hunt, which is which is really good.
00:13:27
Holmesy
Hopefully we can see a Pod Pod Challenge member, and I know he's ah a Marera's Magic subscriber as well, take home the the Tundra.
00:13:33
JORDAN DSENA
Thank
00:13:34
Holmesy
that would be That would be awesome. But fair play to Artie's party, who has been up leading the comp for, yeah, ah a very, very long time now. All right, our hot topics for the week. I mean, it is the injuries, but before we get into those specific injuries, Jordi, as a team that is flying and is doing everything right to finish the year, what are you looking to do with your trades this week? Are you now starting to sort of target matchups in terms of like a good matchup
00:14:07
Holmesy
two, three, four week run? Are you still trying to pick these players that have been top six for most of the year? Like how are you sort of prioritizing where those trades go this week?

Trade Strategies and Player Replacements

00:14:17
JORDAN DSENA
Yeah, ah definitely the run is ah is a big thing. So if you are Maria's Magic member, there's there's a run schedule there, which is unreal. And I like to toggle it with the last five weeks. So you can obviously do it over the season or the last 10 weeks. But the last five is what I've been using just to see you know what has been changing at the moment. So definitely looking at that. And there's a player we can talk about.
00:14:40
JORDAN DSENA
from the Crows who I'm pretty keen on. I almost think he's a must-have this week. But I guess the strategy is, do you go for like a 23rd primo? Is that an option? Like, Amatheus Filippo, could he be a 23rd as a loop?
00:14:55
JORDAN DSENA
don't Personally, I think I'm just going to try and get the best players and I can't quite get a 23rd.
00:15:00
Lew
Thank
00:15:02
JORDAN DSENA
But I also do like that strategy as well of looping a player. And I think like the forward line, there seems to be a quite a actual few options now that aren't too pricey.
00:15:13
JORDAN DSENA
So I'd like that option um and going as well for the run. But I think, yeah, with the injury with Holmes, I think I'm just going go basically two up.
00:15:24
Holmesy
So you've got money banked.
00:15:26
JORDAN DSENA
I've only got 9K, so not much at all. But I'm potentially looking at taking a punt on one of these defenders, a cheaper one. Or I'm just wondering, I'm undecided on this, but Hulkahan, Crows have got this great run.
00:15:42
JORDAN DSENA
Can he just go straight on field and then I can fix up two forwards? um that's that's an option as well. You also could get a look at him as well Thursday night. So I'm thinking about loopholes as well. And like we've got two Friday games this week.
00:15:57
JORDAN DSENA
Melbourne are there. Like you could loop almost so many lines this week. So that's in my strategy thoughts as well.
00:16:06
Holmesy
Now, Louis, I'm going to put you on the spot here. As I know, pre-pod, you had some trading plans. And then once you got your login back, you realize that you do in fact have max homes that you need to fix up.
00:16:18
Holmesy
but
00:16:19
Lew
ah
00:16:21
Holmesy
But what what are you looking to do?
00:16:24
Lew
um yeah i think i'm going to be relying on the injury list in more ways than one i've still got tanner brun poking around in there too he is a test um it's it's grim areas um so if he comes back i think that's going to change what i do but yeah holmes definitely has to go and um
00:16:40
Holmesy
right.
00:16:47
Lew
I think I might not fluff about. I think I'll go with a big dog if I can, replace a big dog with another big dog because um ah think sometimes once you start getting a little bit cute, that' that's when you can sort of find yourself with all these players like I currently have, like Myles Bergman and Tanner Bruhn.
00:17:09
Holmesy
Louis, who do you think comes back first?
00:17:09
Lew
Yeah.
00:17:11
Holmesy
Tanner Bruin or Brent Daniels? It's a bit of a race between our rabble.
00:17:15
Lew
yeah
00:17:16
Jon Harmey
Bye.
00:17:18
Lew
yeah's ah Yeah, it's pretty, pretty grim.
00:17:19
Holmesy
Oh, geez.
00:17:20
Lew
But um yeah, that that's going to be, I'm pretty much setting sail to just complete my side at this point and crossing my fingers and my toes that we're not going to get more forced injuries.
00:17:33
Holmesy
Yeah, Harmi, I'd like to hear your thoughts as well because I'm i'm kind of in a similar boat where I've had this rookie on field now that I i just can't get off for the last three weeks. And it really, really hurts, like the 40 last week. And I think it was a 50 from Farrow the week before. So we are getting these 70s, 80s, 90s from rookies. But if you get the wrong one, which we do you know it tend to happen and I don't have a loop option in defense,
00:17:57
Holmesy
that's what really kills you. So I suppose I've got maybe 40K in the bank roughly. So it's, do I go a Max Holmes down to a bit more of a speculative defender, but still ah ah a proper premium to then finally fix Brent Daniels and take a haircut to to get the Hugo Hulcahan Fitzgerald off field? Or what do you think? do you go the Louis option and just, you know, play the play the rookie if you have to, but go to a a bigger dog to fix Holmes? Like i'm I'm still unsure.
00:18:27
Jon Harmey
Yeah, look, we saw it with Fitzgerald. um be I would be quite keen to get your rookie off field. i a couple of weeks ago, I held Whitfield and did one down, one out just to get rid of all the rookies. I say that and I've got my cursor and I'm probably going to hold him. But anyway...
00:18:44
Jon Harmey
A couple of thoughts on it, mate. The looping is a bit different this year because the time on ground rule is something else to consider. I guess I had Rory Laird a couple of weeks ago when he got injured in the second quarter. So, um yeah, I guess you you are forgoing that safety net if you choose to loop.
00:19:07
Jon Harmey
But the thing for you, Holmes, is I'm pretty comfortable with gut trying to chase a value defender. And I just say that because the premium defenders are getting pretty thin. We've had so many injuries at that top end, like your Bailey Dale and...
00:19:25
Jon Harmey
Yeah, I just ah can't sort of hand on heart say that you're going to choose one of these premium guys and they're going to knock it out of the park. Like you saw Nass get um tagged to a 75 on the weekend.
00:19:38
Jon Harmey
um So, yep, I just think that there's probably some good options in that second, like the second string defenders who you could be having a look at.
00:19:49
Holmesy
All right then, Harmi. I know you've got the notebook there off camera. who Who are we looking at as these are?
00:19:54
Jon Harmey
No, I actually haven't. um i thought I also find this week it a little bit difficult because Adelaide play on the Thursday night and don't mind the idea of Malira. I don't mind ranking. I would like to have a look at Hulk Hahan, those sorts of things. But, yeah, you just kind of limit it a little bit with that Thursday night game. I think Dawson is a really good trade-in as well. So, um yeah. But, look, there's options there. I mean, yeah.
00:20:27
Jon Harmey
I don't know.
00:20:29
Holmesy
Jordy, I ah know millerer Miller is the one that you're really keen on, right?
00:20:29
JORDAN DSENA
For thirds?
00:20:30
Jon Harmey
You want to some names or?
00:20:34
JORDAN DSENA
I was actually, was at Rankin. I am kind of thinking Rankin is a must have this week. I think with the run, I'm just, I'm quite scared of Rankin. We've seen a 160 and a 138.
00:20:44
Lew
Thank
00:20:46
JORDAN DSENA
He's got high CBAs. He had 30 disposals against the Swans on the weekend and he didn't really have the taggals or marks. It was a wet game. Like, There's every chance that that could be big game. And he's if you look at his disposal the last three weeks, he's had 27 um So I'm quite scared of ranking. i And i I'm sort of putting him as a must-have.
00:21:10
JORDAN DSENA
So I'm sort of dictating my trade on getting him in and then just seeing what defender I can get in there. Now, it'll either if that might mean I have to drop down to a you know a cheaper guy or do i get that look at Halkahan and maybe he's he's on for a week. But I do also like Malero with the run as well just because Laird is out.
00:21:30
JORDAN DSENA
But I'm kind of prioritising Rankin in as it must have.
00:21:35
Holmesy
So who who did Collingwood, they played Carlton on the weekend, right? So Ed Allen went to Sam Walsh, not Patrick Cripps. Does that worry you that an Ed Allen might go to Rankin rather than a Dawson or you think Dawson's the guy they're going lock down?
00:21:51
JORDAN DSENA
They probably could. But Walsh, didn't Walsh still do okay? I'm just going to have a, he got a ton, didn't He got 106.
00:21:59
Holmesy
Yeah.
00:21:59
JORDAN DSENA
So he still did okay.
00:22:02
JORDAN DSENA
So, but then, you know, I mean, he's got Essendon and Richmond after that. So um look, they probably might because he's pretty damaging, but I think i'm just still going to go there.
00:22:15
Holmesy
So Wayne Miller has a really good run and and really hasn't done anything wrong. Hasn't been putting up these 60s like he was to sort of start the year. Typically how has a floor of about 80, 85. And we've seen a big 128 on the weekend, especially with Rory Laird out.
00:22:33
Holmesy
I had him, Lou. I can't remember whether you did or not. And it was really unfortunate that I had to trade him that week when both him and Amon were missing. Is he someone that coaches should look to to bring in this week? He is, at the moment, one of the most highly traded in players. Do you think coaches are score chasing or there's merit?
00:22:51
Lew
No, I think there's definitely merit there. um He's been of interest all year for for coaches pretty much through the whole period. So he's a player that's really found his feet in that Crow side after a few injury sort of years. And I think they just look to him as much as they possibly can. He's he's in great form. And as Harmi sort of said, those top-end defenders, they're starting to get a little bit thin. And I think there's a little bit of room to to find some of these guys that can score like a top line defender when when all the others are absent. So I ah think given that run that he's got to come from here on, that Miller is a pretty good option.
00:23:32
Holmesy
Harmy, I'll throw you a player and you absolutely love this bloke. I know you've had him this year and you just couldn't wait to get him into your side.
00:23:43
Holmesy
Archie Roberts priced at 817,000. So it must be a buy now at 817,000, right?
00:23:46
JORDAN DSENA
Thank
00:23:48
Jon Harmey
Yeah, think I paid about $1.2 million for him at the time from memory. Look, cheap.
00:23:52
Holmesy
so it must be a good buy now at eight hundred and seventeen thousand right
00:23:56
Jon Harmey
Yeah, no, you should do that. Well, he got a good score on the weekend um and he played quite well, but... there There wasn't the kicking across field backwards as much as what we saw when Archie Roberts was in his prime this season. So don't think you can trade him in with full confidence that he'll be averaging over 100. I don't think that's kind of where it's at, but I think he'll be reliable and not a bad buy at the price he is.
00:24:27
Holmesy
Any interest in a Jake Bowie, a dossie special from back in the day?
00:24:35
Jon Harmey
Bowie, yeah.
00:24:36
Holmesy
It's ah it's a podcast, boys. Someone should speak, please.
00:24:38
Jon Harmey
I thought Louis was going jump in on that one.
00:24:39
JORDAN DSENA
Mm-hmm.
00:24:41
Jon Harmey
ah Well, he has been good since he came

Role Changes and Player Analysis

00:24:44
Jon Harmey
back. I think Christian Salem's now played two games in the VFL, so bit of a flag there.
00:24:51
Jon Harmey
But, yeah, I think he's...
00:24:53
Holmesy
sounds like he's Sounds like he's got a new role. Sounds like he's been playing forward in the VFL.
00:24:58
Jon Harmey
Oh, okay. hadn't heard that. Yeah, righto. But anyway, look, yep, I think Bowie's had a couple of good games. They've got Geelong, Gold Coast, Frio. Frio, Frio, a bit of a difficult matchup this year, aren't they?
00:25:10
Jon Harmey
So, yeah, Geelong and Frio, both difficult matches in the next three for Bowie.
00:25:18
Holmesy
Yeah, he's got a mortgage on the kick-ins.
00:25:18
Lew
You could...
00:25:20
Holmesy
Yeah, I don't think I could do it priced at 93. But yeah, I mean, you can't argue with the two tons, floor of 80 at the moment, mortgage on the kick-ins. But yeah, I think I will look elsewhere for eight hundred and seventy five k I think, I mean, there's obviously the top end guys.
00:25:38
Holmesy
So we're talking, you know, Brad Hill had a bit of a down one on the weekend, but he's still, I mean, what is he priced at 106 now? you you You definitely couldn't pay that.
00:25:48
Jon Harmey
I did.
00:25:49
JORDAN DSENA
know
00:25:52
Holmesy
And normal people can't pay that, Harmi.
00:25:55
Jon Harmey
I was trying to go different though too, so that's that's fair.
00:25:59
Holmesy
Jordy, what about John Noble back in defense now?
00:26:02
JORDAN DSENA
Yeah, I like John Noble. I think he's an option you need to consider. So there's a few guys. So actually like Roberts and there's Malera. There is Noble.
00:26:14
JORDAN DSENA
and this And also another guy like is Callum Mills, averaging 101 in the last five. Actually, if I had money, I would like to get Mills in. But i yeah, um I think these guys...
00:26:30
JORDAN DSENA
I know he was going at 90 in the last his last five. Obviously, he's dropped a couple of those 60s and he's had a knock. But um I think he's he's a good pick. like He could be a top six from from here if he can get that form back.
00:26:43
JORDAN DSENA
And he's a good buy.
00:26:46
Holmesy
What have they are what do they got coming up? So GWS into St Kilda into Port Adelaide. not the Not the worst run, Harmy.
00:26:56
Jon Harmey
did you say at the start of the show when you said about bringing in Bailey Williams, did you mean the Western Bulldogs Bailey Williams with Bailey Dale out and he's just scored 111 his last game?
00:27:04
JORDAN DSENA
you
00:27:10
Holmesy
I did, Harmy. I wasn't talking about the West Coast Ruckman that's just signed a six-year monster deal to to stay at West Coast. Talk me out of it, please.
00:27:21
Jon Harmey
Well, I didn't see that game, but if he's gone from his usual wing spot to a back flank, I'd certainly be more interested.
00:27:31
Holmesy
So no kick-ins, but definitely playing in defence. If you have a look at the heat map, it's all very concentrated in the back half. Richmond this week, bit of a downgrade on ah my boy Brent Daniels, which makes a bit of money to then go up on the other end on Holmes and get that last rookie off.
00:27:50
Holmesy
um Yeah, i don't I don't hate it. I don't hate it. Louis nodding his head.
00:27:55
Lew
I'm big fan of it. Yeah, yeah, I really like it. I think the opportunity is there. and um He's just one of those rare ones that can can pull a massive score out of their ass too and and that that can be really useful this time of year for that that price.
00:28:09
Lew
And I don't think we've mentioned him yet, but I don't... hate Myles Bergman too as a cheapie. I saw on the weekend he had the 23 CBAs and ah Joe Richards has just gone down with a finger injury. He's going to miss the next month. He's been taking plenty of mid-clock as well. So that might just further his opportunity in there.
00:28:33
Lew
You're probably taking a little bit more of a punt with that one for sure. Scoring and the fitness hasn't necessarily been there, but that's one where you can look to the role perhaps.
00:28:43
Jon Harmey
Holmesy, do you feel a bit of deja vu here with Louis trying to talk us to into trading in Bergman this season?
00:28:50
Holmesy
We literally in the group chat over the last two weeks, they've been reflecting on their sides and they were talking about Bergman and how he wasn't fit and they were trying to be cute. You just don't do it with these players that been injured. And here he is again, trying to talk us into Wiles Bergman, Louis.
00:29:06
Lew
I'm not nearly as bad as Geordie. Come on, give me a break.
00:29:08
Jon Harmey
yeah
00:29:09
JORDAN DSENA
ah You know, Louis actually got Bergman in his side. He traded him in this week.
00:29:16
Jon Harmey
Had him since round two, has he?
00:29:18
Lew
I never got rid of him.
00:29:20
Holmesy
Louis, you're as bad as me trading players in and out. I've had i've had Darcy Cameron twice this year for one tonne out of his six, I think. Far out.
00:29:27
Lew
ah Chase your losses, that's what they say.
00:29:30
Holmesy
Ah, well. Yeah, yeah. Very, very good.
00:29:33
JORDAN DSENA
what it Another guy saw on this is Impey. Amon's out. He's got Essendon this week. He's put up a 130. Is he an option? like He's sort of in between the Roberts and Bailey Williams price.
00:29:46
JORDAN DSENA
But some I don't know if I could do it, but I know he's been getting a little bit of He just 137 into Essendon.
00:29:52
Holmesy
Oh, how expensive is Impy? 787. Brad Price of 106.
00:29:56
JORDAN DSENA
just did a one thirty seven into essendon
00:30:02
Lew
What about Brad Hill?
00:30:04
JORDAN DSENA
Long as he likes it.
00:30:07
Holmesy
cri hugh
00:30:08
Lew
Yeah.
00:30:09
Holmesy
process a one o six
00:30:11
Lew
Yeah, well, he's been in some good form, mate. He's a forward as well where they can be a little bit shaky at that back end.
00:30:13
Jon Harmey
Mm, yeah, Carl.
00:30:18
Lew
TPP, um I'm certainly not saying he's cheap, but he's got North, Carlton, the Suns and Richmond as four of his next five. That could be nice one that you can throw around a little bit if you've got the funds.
00:30:33
Holmesy
Yeah, yeah, don't hate it. Back to Impey, Jordy. du They clearly they had the Richmond tax on the weekend.

Game Impact Analysis

00:30:41
Holmesy
I don't know if you were following the live scores in that game, but there was a point, I think it was halfway through the second quarter where four of the five top scorers for Hawks were all defenders and they're all large.
00:30:52
Holmesy
Is there the the Richmond tax on it or do you think it's actually sustainable?
00:30:57
JORDAN DSENA
Well, it could be two things. Like, yes, there is the Richmond tax, but also Amon is out of the side. Like, that was a big thing that's out. And he, obviously, Impey seems to be the guy that's taking the bulk of it. I'm just going to have a look at if he had, like, the kick-ins um on the weekend. But I think that's to give him a bump. um And he does have the ceiling. So he had a few kick-ins. Looks like, you know, Hardwick and Sicily as well. But the thing with the Hawks is they always Like they've been a pretty good scoring side this year. So i don't know, it's a bit of a punt, but he's pretty cheap.
00:31:36
Holmesy
Yep, don't don't mind it, Jordy. I'll put it in the the back of my mind and and have a bit of a play around. Some other injury news, as Jordy mentioned. So Josh Dacos missed training today with an ankle that he apparently has been dealing with.
00:31:51
Holmesy
Flyers come out and said they expect him to play, but it'll be a last-minute decision. So luckily they play Thursday night, so you'll be able to adjust that if he is in fact out. As Louis mentioned, Joe Richards out for four weeks with that finger. Hopefully, for Port's sake, they'll get JHF back this week.
00:32:09
Holmesy
Toby Green, three to four weeks with that quad injury, I think it was. Gorn and Heaney are both sore after their knocks on the weekend, but you'd think they both play. Harmi, the one I'll sort of mention, and he was our our dossey ah so our Stato Pick of the Week, Rowan Marshall.
00:32:26
Holmesy
It sounds like TDK may play this week. Is that a concern? Like I've still got Rowan Marshall in my ruck line as I haven't been able to get him forward yet.
00:32:38
Holmesy
We saw what he was doing early in the year when TDK was playing. Do you think they will go revert back and TDK will go back to being the rain main ruck or do you think they've been playing well with Marshall that they'd be they'd keep it going for a while longer yet
00:32:51
Jon Harmey
Yeah, I think he's touch and go anyway. i i don't think the club has really come out and said, yes, he's playing. So a bit sceptical as to whether he is coming back. I guess the other thing is I'm probably going to be holding for at least a week when he does come back because...
00:33:08
Jon Harmey
um He's not going to be fully right, as in he could be tentative. And I think there's a good chance that he sits forward more than playing those bulk ruck minutes when he does come back. I think we can afford to have a look at it um even when they are both in the team.
00:33:27
Holmesy
Jordy, let's do some some Ruck discussion now because you came into the group chat at halftime of the Bulldogs game and said or asked, is Tim English back? I think he was on 60 at halftime and then faded as the game went on.
00:33:43
Holmesy
is Is he an option? Like he's crazy cheap for a bloke that's been the number one scorer in the comp. ah Scores priced at 85, scored the 105 on the weekend. Time on ground still a little bit low at 77% and the CBAs are still only at that sort of 65 range. So he's not back to being the full Tim English that we know, but does have Richmond this week followed by Frio, which is a little bit tough and then North.
00:34:09
Holmesy
Is he an option as a cheaper ruck line if you're trying to fill out your side, maybe swing Marshall forward or do you think it's still too risky?
00:34:20
JORDAN DSENA
I kind of think it's an option because if you've got Marshall R2 and you can swing him forward, like he's 800K. And, you know like Petrarca's 740K. Like you would think Petrarca to a Tim English is a bit of an upgrade.
00:34:36
JORDAN DSENA
I'm just having, I didn't catch the game, but yeah, obviously the rut contest were back up. So obviously Lobb, Lobb still taking a little bit, but the week before Lobb took the bulk of it. So English is back doing that. And as you said, a few more CBA. So maybe it's a bit of a management thing. Like they're going to build him up to it.
00:34:54
JORDAN DSENA
um And I think, you know, he's just, he's so cheap. Like how can you sort of go wrong with that in a way?
00:35:01
Holmesy
Harmi, we don't hide anything from the listeners here and you've gone into the secret chat here, English, a trade-in for me at this stage. Can you elaborate on that, please?
00:35:09
Jon Harmey
Yeah, look, we spoke about Max Holmes being out and I said I may hold McKercher. And the reason is I can just trade Holmes out, swing McKercher to the back line, get Rowan Marshall from my ruck line into my forward line and bring in English and actually make fair bit of coin. So that's certainly something I've been looking at this week.
00:35:33
Holmesy
Louis, you're an English owner, right? Somehow.
00:35:36
Lew
No, no, he's out. Yeah, when he was that laid out, I got rid of him.
00:35:41
Holmesy
Oh, that was the laid out.
00:35:41
Lew
He turned into Gorn.
00:35:43
Holmesy
That's right. Yeah. Okay. Fair enough. But you you did. So clearly you, I mean, we're talking sort of historical there and and sometimes you need to go early on these players and hope they bounce back. But clearly you liked English enough earlier to trade him in, which means a bounce back game and seeing him a bit fitter means that he must you know be an option, right?
00:36:02
Lew
Yeah, I think so. I traded him in when he was priced at about 83 or something like that. And I just thought there's got to be enough upside there based on his history um over a number of years. So yeah, I wouldn't turn my nose up at an 800k English. or I think, you know, worst case scenario, you're probably going to get fair value as long as you can stay on the park and just hope for some upside in the back end of the year where you know maybe Maybe he's trying to put his stamp on the competition just a little bit after a poorer year or even rise his um his trade value up a little bit.
00:36:36
Lew
Some rumors of that.
00:36:39
Holmesy
Yeah, it's crazy how how he's dropped off considering we thought he was going to be the prototype Ruckman to really dominate this year. I think he's he's not fit clearly, but ah I dare say he's probably going to be almost our first picked player next year with with the discount that he's going to have. Louis, a player you've loved over the years, Tristan Cherry got monstered by Max on the weekend, but he's still cheap for what we know he can do. He did that 140 not two weeks ago.
00:37:06
Holmesy
Is he is he ah an underpriced option?
00:37:10
Lew
Yeah, I think so. I still think he played really well against Max. it's you know It's a pretty tough matchup in terms of fantasy footy. But yeah, I don't mind him at the price either. He's probably one that I would still favor over English for the extra 90K or so just because he has shown a bit of a frightening ceiling, which we've seen over a number of years.
00:37:32
Lew
So far this season, um if he if he comes up against Roma and TDK, though, this week, that might be a little bit tricky for him, up against the double rucks. But, um yeah, I'm big fan of Tristan Sherry. us up As we've kind of said all season, there's probably three or four of these ruckmen that are below...
00:37:52
Lew
the best and I would probably put Grundy and Gorn as the top two at the moment and I think you know there's a group of players that you can choose from where if you get them in the right fixture or right vein of form that that they can sort of all do about the same.
00:37:58
Jon Harmey
Grundy.
00:38:08
Holmesy
Harmi, you don't agree with the Grundy call?
00:38:11
Jon Harmey
Oh, he's bloody lucky not to get my dossie pick of the week. 83. Hopeless.
00:38:17
Holmesy
I mean, Luke Jackson hasn't been doing much better since Mason Cox has come back in and Sean Darcy, right?
00:38:25
Jon Harmey
Yeah, totally agree. But even then, like Max, yeah, Max has been going really well. But then we had Heath come in on the weekend as well to support him.
00:38:36
Jon Harmey
So does that continue for the rest season as well?
00:38:39
JORDAN DSENA
be interesting because su za the Melbourne have got
00:38:39
Lew
What about Bailey Williams?
00:38:42
Jon Harmey
Which one?
00:38:42
Holmesy
Yeah, correct. Why should I the double?
00:38:46
Lew
Do the double. What have we got to lose?
00:38:50
Holmesy
Oh, a lot.
00:38:53
Lew
Our dignity.
00:38:55
JORDAN DSENA
Melbourne have got um the Cats this week.
00:38:57
Lew
Our podcast.
00:38:59
Holmesy
They do have the cats, but he is sore, right?
00:39:01
JORDAN DSENA
Does, yeah. So is there a rest there ah with the with the ruck? Because obviously it's a really positive matchup. And, um you know, many might look at the VC on Gorn, as we sort of did with Marshall going massive against the Cats.
00:39:15
JORDAN DSENA
And I kind of would like to VC Gorn, but if he's sore and Heath's in, is that going to cap that ceiling?
00:39:20
Holmesy
Nah. It could cap the ceiling. There's no way they rest. I think this is such a must-win game for them, Geordie. They're still riding the top four hunt with Geelong around them.
00:39:28
Jon Harmey
Yeah. Yep. yep
00:39:31
Holmesy
This is such ah such a crucial game for them. Is it at the MCG? I haven't looked. I assume it is because Geelong played at home against St. Kilda on the weekend. Yeah.
00:39:41
JORDAN DSENA
Yeah, mccj
00:39:43
Holmesy
I reckon we maybe get one or two more games out of Heath if if we're lucky and then Max finishes out the year before he gets the the rest leading into finals. But yeah, it might be pretty tricky to VC Max against Geelong even um with the matchup considering Heath is going to you know take 35%, 40% of the game and and Max sits forward a little bit.
00:40:04
Holmesy
um Midfielders, Jordy, why don't you go through some of the options in the midfield if if coaches have DPP and they're able to swing Max Holmes into into the midfield or he might even be there already.
00:40:17
JORDAN DSENA
Yeah, so based on form, so with Ashcroft, obviously at the moment is the top guy. So he's averaging 131. But I think, you know, next over that Nick Dacos, Bailey Smith, Jordan Dawson, like if you haven't got those three guys, I think a lot of who don't have Bailey Smith.
00:40:33
JORDAN DSENA
because he was obviously out a few weeks ago. I think those three guys, they've been the top mid all year. They've averaged over 110 all year. Dacos and Smith have been going at 120. I wonder with Holmes out, does that help Smith?
00:40:47
JORDAN DSENA
um You know, can become maybe the main guy. It looks like Warple played last week. So maybe Warple can maybe just play that that Holmes role. um you know in the midfield. And we saw you know Grian Myers as well come in. So there's a few guys going there. So I think if you haven't got them, you'd need to jump on them this week. And I think the other guy that i talked about at the top, I actually really like Andrew Brayshaw. So after you know going to the game last week, it just looks like he's back in that chip mark and he's the guy in the middle again like he was a couple of years ago. And he's averaging 108. So
00:41:24
JORDAN DSENA
I actually like him as a bit of a pod at the moment.
00:41:27
Holmesy
Yeah, it'll be interesting when Bolton comes back in this week if if he takes a ah few points away. But good on the coaches that got Brayshaw, you know, sort of four or five weeks ago when we first sort of floated it because he's been he's been unreal since those ceiling games. How many you like?
00:41:43
Holmesy
i mean, it's hard not to like Bont, but he's, I mean, that knee injury is a ah thing of the past. Gold Coast paid him no attention on the weekend and lo and behold, he has 30 and kicks three. um I mean, Jordy, are you ever going to get him, Jordy?
00:41:53
JORDAN DSENA
He's got Richmond this week.
00:41:57
JORDAN DSENA
Yeah, more I've got Dunkley and Sirong now in the midfield, so I can't at the moment, but um look, maybe ah maybe in a couple of weeks when i if we don't get injuries, I can i can get him. But um yeah, I mean, he's bon.
00:42:12
JORDAN DSENA
Like I've wanted him all year, so...
00:42:15
Lew
case He's coming to my side and I think just like a voodoo doll, he's sitting on the couch right now and the knee's just jolted with pain all of a sudden. say
00:42:27
Holmesy
Oh, Louis, you should have stayed logged out of the app, mate. I got bunt last week. don't Don't ruin him for me. Yeah, I think the important thing for the midfield is at this time of year especially, if if you don't have that 23rd premium, you can jump off these tags because, I mean, I'm still stuck with a Finn Callaghan, but players like that that are susceptible to a tag at this time of year, they just they just have to go. You need the ceiling players like you're...
00:42:51
Holmesy
i mean, yeah he's very expensive now, Jordy, but your Ashcrofts, your Dacosses, your Bailey Smiths, all these players that are immune to tags that are putting up these 110, 115 plus scores for fun, they're they're the guys that you need within these runs to to finish the year and and and start to identify these teams that are just nowhere near it. So, I mean, you've put Matt Rowell in here, Jordy, but I mean, Gold Coast are just amazing.
00:43:14
Holmesy
no good at the moment. Yes, Rao was good on the weekend, but Rao, Anderson, Petrarca, like that midfield, they they don't know what they're doing at the moment. You want to talk about Tuk Miller?
00:43:26
JORDAN DSENA
Well, it did spruik me because, you know, even you, Holmes, weeks ago, you said about Petrarca being in the midfield and um he's out of the midfield, did have a bit more time, but Took Miller was the one, that defensive mid, and we saw him have the most CBAs on the weekend and a a big score of 120.
00:43:45
JORDAN DSENA
It's a bit of a punt. Like if, as you said, we don't know what's happening with the Gold Coast. Like they could change it. They're obviously losing. But if Tukmila comes out this week and gets another 120 with high CBAs, he's going to be hard not to trade in the following week, I think. But I guess the risk for me is I just feel like ranking is a higher priority.
00:44:04
JORDAN DSENA
But if Took's going to have this role, we know he can score as he's done in the past. so But it's just that thing, isn't it? You might grab him, he's out of the role and they've tried something else. They've they've put Will Power in there or they've put someone else in the midfield, one of these kids, you know, Adensoul or something. And, um you know, he's he's back a half forward and he gets a 70. So it's one of those punts. But, yeah, I'm keeping an eye on it for sure.
00:44:33
Holmesy
All right, let's ah let's get into some questions to finish off the show. Thanks to all the listeners again for the support and and bringing these in.

Strategic Trading Decisions

00:44:42
Holmesy
Louis, I'll go to the first one for you. This one's from Bontsville Wizard, good friend of the show. Hey, lads, hope all is well.
00:44:48
Holmesy
Should I get my last rookie off in the way of Holmes to Roberts and Zeke to Dunkley? Or hold Zeke and loop with Hugo Hall-Cahan to get Holmes to Baz. So he can have a look at the Hugo score on Thursday night first. So I suppose what score would Hugo need to get to ah to avoid keeping him on field and and doing the Baz trade?
00:45:10
Lew
Well, I reckon a 75 would probably get it done for me. um ah reckon I'd take the 75 over Roberts if it means Baz on the other end. i'm Interested to hear all of your thoughts on that, though.
00:45:26
Holmesy
Amen.
00:45:27
Jon Harmey
ah I think Baz is very going to be important for the run home. Just with home's gone and i do have a very good run as well.
00:45:37
Holmesy
Yeah, I'm not as big on Roberts either. i know Geordie is, but Hawthorne this week, which is neutral, Adelaide's hard, and then Geelong. We see sometimes defenders against Geelong just don't touch the footy. So when he was scoring those big scores earlier on in the year, there was no Redman. Merritt was in the midfield, and it was just basically Archie Roberts. But now you've got Ridley back there. There's a few others sort of sharing it around.
00:46:01
Holmesy
I don't think Roberts is the answer, although he is cheap, Louis.
00:46:04
Lew
Yeah, 88's his highest score, which came on the weekend since round 11. So, um yeah, I think the 75's probably safe.
00:46:16
Holmesy
Jordy, this one's from Cam. Does he do Petrarca to Myers slash Philippot or Pickett with the tag this week to Rankin or Horn Francis? So I suppose this is what I was kind of talking about with the tag options. But I mean, we thought Pickett was going to get tagged by North on the weekend and he didn't. We know Geelong's a different animal though.
00:46:37
Holmesy
What do you sort of think here? Philippot, man, are so close.
00:46:42
JORDAN DSENA
I said it it was an option last week. This is a difficult one because I really like Rankin. As I said, I think Rankin's a must-have, but I don't really want to trade out Pickett. I know he might have a tag, but I'm happy to hold him.
00:46:57
JORDAN DSENA
At his best, he is an absolute gun. We saw that on the weekend. so And I feel like Petrarca is a... Right now, you need to get him out of your side. He hasn't gone over... ninety I think it is since round seven, I think it is.
00:47:10
JORDAN DSENA
So like ideally it would be great to get rid of Petrarca to rank him, but obviously this it can't be facilitated.
00:47:11
Jon Harmey
Thank you.
00:47:17
JORDAN DSENA
So um ah feel like, geez, ah I feel like Petrarca, This is, yeah, real 50-50. I feel like maybe you just jump off Petrarca, grab that Filippo cra cash gen. It's only thirty k though and try and upgrade.
00:47:34
JORDAN DSENA
I guess this is where like a 23rd primo, you know, looping a picket this weekend is sort of where it's ideal.
00:47:43
Holmesy
Yeah, for me, Petrarca was pretty much, it was last last resort for him on the weekend. I thought he would be back full-time in the midfield as Gold Coast gave it one last go. Bulldogs have been you know pretty easy to score on for midfielders and still just gets the 81. And that was with a ah ah late plus 12 that, you know if he didn't get that, it was another score in the 60. So I think Petrarca is the more urgent trade out.
00:48:10
Holmesy
I think you hold ah so you you look to target Rankin the week after. There still is the the little flag that there might be attention there or maybe Collingwood show up for that game and it's not as easy for the midfielders to score.
00:48:22
Holmesy
And you just hope that Rankin doesn't put up a ceiling score and and he's not too much expensive the week after. I think that's the way i would play it.
00:48:29
JORDAN DSENA
Yeah. yep
00:48:31
Holmesy
Harmi, this one is from Pez. Ranked 260th and have homes to deal with like most, should my second move this week be fixing the worst player in my 22, which would be a Darcy Wilmot to a ah Roberts, Wayne Miller, et cetera, or does he bring in a 23rd primo in for one of the fatten rooks? So anyone under 790-ish K in any position, Bailey Williams, either of them.
00:48:58
Jon Harmey
Yeah, there's actually a few options that were spoken about over the course of the podcast that you could bring in that are a good price and, yeah, Phil opposed one, I suppose.
00:49:08
Jon Harmey
um If it were me, is Wilmot to Malera decent upgrade? I think it probably is and that's probably the way that I would go.
00:49:23
Jon Harmey
it depends what else you've got going on. And as I sort of said, if you can get like a Philippo and run a loop with Petrarca, say, in the forward line, that's probably not a bad idea as well. So they're both good options. But yeah, if it were me, I'd probably be still be going Wilmot up to the best, which is probably Malia in that example.
00:49:44
Holmesy
Man, have a listen to these scores from Wilmot since round 10 and admittedly Zorko's been out and it sounds like he might be out again. 110, 99, 125, 103, 105, 59 against Sydney, but there was talk that he had that he was playing through.
00:50:00
Holmesy
eighty two eighty one eighty one so he's definitely dropped off recently But his scores have been like unreal since about round 10. So I still think I'd be in the camp of trading your worst player on field up this week. And that's going to give you one more week of cash gen to then get your a rookie up to a genuine 23rd premium the week after. I'm not sure you want to dabble in the the less than 790k areas. like There are some good options that we've spoken about, but they all do come with risk.
00:50:32
Holmesy
And yeah, I don't want to go there this week if I don't have to, but it I probably will. So I think I would be upgrading upgrading that 22nd player on field.
00:50:46
Holmesy
Louis, this one's from Tony Denham. And Tony, I'm not sure if you understand how the game's played, but it definitely wasn't good forward planning with Houston. I know he's been good, but he terrifies me every week and I've been trying to get rid of him now for about six weeks.
00:51:01
Holmesy
Regarding Max Holmes, is it better to go a Hill slash Wilkie rather than a ah Millerer? He's got Shees, Degowie, Pickett, Sparrow, Marshall, which means he's actually going to trade Durham to Rankin. So, you know, is it better to go the Hill slash Wilkie that have, you know, been better in form over the last sort of month or so, albeit Wilkie had a down game, or do you sort of chase the cash and and punt on a Millerer with the run?
00:51:27
Lew
Well, it doesn't sound like he necessarily needs forwards anyway. I suppose you you do have Hill that's also a defender. ah Yeah, I think it's sort of six of one, half a dozen of the other here. Personally, I'm going to back in Wilkie to bounce back just with the way that the Saints play through him. And I think that Hill's been in some phenomenal form as well. And he's going to be a big um reason if they end up playing finals this year. So I'd probably lean towards the Hill-Wilkey over Miller just because there's a little bit of a a pod there as well with Miller being the most traded in this week.
00:52:06
Holmesy
You've always been a Millerer hater, Lou.
00:52:09
JORDAN DSENA
Mm-hmm.
00:52:09
Holmesy
Always. I think I'd go Millerer personally just with how expensive Hill is, but yeah he's he's been good and Hill will, I think Hill's pretty much guaranteed to be a top six forward come the end of the year, especially if he has ah a ceiling game or two to finish. Whereas,
00:52:25
Holmesy
Yeah, Miller, I suppose, is on the edge of the top six. Everything would have to go right for that to happen. Jordy, this one is from our Jay McPhee from our Instagram page. Thoughts on Warpool as a twenty third primo?
00:52:39
JORDAN DSENA
I don't think so so. It's only one game of data for Warpool and he's been out the side all year. So he's 718k. So you can get Philippo for that price. And we know that he's got the role for the last couple of weeks. So yeah, Warpool hasn't played since round nine and he came in just from a few injuries. So I know Holmes is out, but you need it I think you need one more to before we trust in a Warpool.
00:53:04
Holmesy
Yeah, I think he's a good draft waiver wire option if you're if you're looking in those areas. But I think it's a bit risky and classic, even if it is a 23rd primo. Harmi, this one's from Adam Salman. Is it Bazin Roberts or Milera and Neal?
00:53:21
Jon Harmey
Baz and Roberts or Miller and Neil. Well, I really like Baz. I quite like Miller. Don't really like Neil so much. Don't really like Roberts so much. So it's a bit of a hard one. If I if i have to pick out of those options, it would be Baz and Roberts because I really like Baz.
00:53:44
Holmesy
What about Harmy Bailey Williams and Bailey Williams?
00:53:51
Jon Harmey
that that that You would have to be one of those really bad coaches out in the ranks with nothing to live for if you were doing something like that. So I'm doing it, obviously.
00:54:02
Holmesy
Yeah. Yeah.
00:54:04
JORDAN DSENA
ah
00:54:04
Jon Harmey
Yeah.
00:54:05
Lew
I've just changed changed my plans, actually. yeah
00:54:09
Holmesy
I mean, does it have to be Roberts? Like if it if you can if you can afford Roberts, then it can be any defender under that.
00:54:12
Jon Harmey
yeah
00:54:15
JORDAN DSENA
Yep, MP or...
00:54:16
Holmesy
You know, we spoke about Impey, like we joke about Williams.
00:54:16
JORDAN DSENA
Well,
00:54:19
Holmesy
You don't want to shop in those areas probably, but I mean, Impey is a good option. There are probably some other options around there.
00:54:25
JORDAN DSENA
there's Jace Burgoyne, Winn Hager.
00:54:25
Holmesy
um
00:54:27
JORDAN DSENA
There's guys doing 80s,
00:54:30
Holmesy
Yeah. Yeah. I just, I don't know about Roberts personally. I was hoping to see a ton on the weekend and for him to bounce back and to show a bit more with that Essendon game style. But yeah, they do have the dogs this week though, don't they?
00:54:44
Holmesy
No, sorry. The dogs have Richmond.
00:54:45
JORDAN DSENA
Now they got, they got Hawks.
00:54:45
Holmesy
hey it Hawks. Yeah. So up and down for defenders. All right, boys, that is going to wrap us up. Thanks as always for jumping on.
00:54:56
Holmesy
Jordy, as the soon-to-be number one coach on the pod, it's only a week or two before you go past me. Can you please give the sign-off for the listeners?
00:55:03
JORDAN DSENA
Hmm.
00:55:05
JORDAN DSENA
I wouldn't count yourself out yet, Holmesy. You're still way ahead, 300 points. But yeah, just keep upgrading upgrading your side. If you can get a 23rd, definitely get a 23rd. If you can't, try and get the best guys are on the field. And yeah, look at form as well. look at I've been looking at the last five and also the run for the next five.
00:55:26
JORDAN DSENA
that's We've only got five to go, so you don't have to worry about a tag coming. you know it's It's not with the full season of data, so then you can take a bit of a pump.
00:55:36
Holmesy
