AFC Playoff Predictions

00:00:00
Speaker
ah Welcome to the 15th episode of Eli's studio sports today. I will be predicting on the games of the teams that are currently part of the NFL playoff picture um Then I will go over um The biggest threats teams are just outside of the playoffs that could probably make it so I'm gonna go through the AFC first and then we will go through the NFC so in the AFC we got the Steelers in first place with Adam with an 11-0 record I think the football team is gonna shock the the football world beat the Steelers by 3 20 to 17 I think it may actually not 20 17 I think 27 24 I think that You know, I think this the football team is a little bit underrated I think Antonio Gibson's gonna have a very good game for them and
00:00:58
Speaker
I think Alex Smith is also going to have a very good game for the football team. So I think that they have a very good chance of winning, although the steelers the Steelers also have a very good chance of winning. So I think coming out of this game, the Steelers will have an 11 and one rep.
00:01:14
Speaker
um In second place in the AFC, Chiefs 10-1 play the 4-7 Broncos. No upset in this game. However, I think the Chiefs offense is going to overpower that Broncos defense. I know the Broncos have a very good offense with Drew Lock.
00:01:30
Speaker
Phillip Lindsay and more on that team, but um You know Patrick Mahomes Tyree kill Travis Kelsey Sammy Watkins DeMarcus Robinson That whole team is insane especially the offense so I'm going with the Chiefs And number three, we have the Titans are in the AFC. They are currently eight and three. They're playing another eight and three team in the home. So it's going to be, in my opinion, this could be a very, very close game. Um, I think in, I think the Titans are going to win personally. I know their defense is not great.
00:02:10
Speaker
but their offense is just going to overpower them. A nice running back matchup though. Derek Henry going up against Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Um, great running back duo over in Cleveland. I'm going with the final score in this game being 38 to 34.
00:02:31
Speaker
All right. So next set number four, we have the bills. They are fourth in the AFC. And they are playing the five and six 49ers. I know the 49ers have some guys coming back, including Deebo Samuel, but the Bills have a very good offense, including Josh Allen at QB and Stefan Diggs at wide receiver. They also have a very good defense this year, so I'm going Bills in that game. ah Number six, since the Browns are number five and they're playing the Titans, so we already predicted that game.
00:03:08
Speaker
um The Dolphins they're playing the Bengals that game is currently um Going on in the NFL.

NFC Playoff Predictions

00:03:17
Speaker
I think it's gonna be all Dolphins in this one I know the first quarter is gonna be pretty close and it already has been but you know the Dolphins and they're just such a good team especially um offensively now with two again he was coming he's coming back from a finger injury and but the defense has played so much better lately so I'm going dolphins and the bangles versus dolphins and number seven we have the Colts they're playing the Texans and I'm going upset alert here I'm going with the Texans Deshaun Watson's gonna have a very good game I know the Colts have a very
00:03:55
Speaker
Stat wise very good defense, but when they play the good offenses, they just can't do too much I know they beat the Titans once but I lost to the Packers So I'm just I'm I think that the Texans are gonna win the game so now we're gonna move over to the NFC as um The seven teams in the AFC we've gone over them and So number one is the Saints. Uh, nine and two playing a four and seven Falcons team. And again, I'm going to predict the number one team to lose. I think Taysom Hill is ah being a little bit, you know, he's, he's not too consistent, especially in the passing game. So I'm Matt Ryan, Todd Gurley, both going to have a good game. Uh, I think, I think it's going to be a Falcons victory 31 28.
00:04:45
Speaker
And number two, we have the Packers. They're playing the three and seven and one Eagles. And I don't see how the Eagles could win this ballgame. The Eagles.
00:04:57
Speaker
um Paid Carson Wentz a ton of money traded um Nick Fools, so Just Carson Wentz has been so inconsistent this year. He's not been able to complete too many passes So just not the Eagles fans have just not seen too much out of Carson Wentz and the defense hasn't done too great either So I'm going Packers and I'm going with the score being 42 nothing or 42 3 actually and number three we have the Seahawks they're playing another division leader in the Giants not the greatest division leader though uh four and seven but I'm going I'm going Seahawks only because Daniel Jones is injured I think if Daniel Jones was here I think I'd still pick Seahawks but I think it'd be much closer
00:05:46
Speaker
I think without Daniel Jones that Giants team is not the same. Um, the best record possible I think after this game for the Giants is going to be four and eight or eight and eight. So I'm going to see Hawks. Let's say point victory. So at number five, the giants were number four. So I number five, the Rams.
00:06:12
Speaker
They're playing the Cardinals who are currently number seven in the NFC. Oh Okay, so I think this one's gonna be close. There's a big debate I think on who's better um between Jared Goff and Kyler Murray, so I'm going I'm going Rams but only because of the defense I know the Cardinals also have a very good defense with Buddha Baker on that team and But the Rams with Aaron, Donald, Jalen Ramsey that they just have so much defensively and offensively they have a decent amount. They've got Jerry golf, but I just think that the Rams are just a tiny bit better than the Cardinals. I know the Cardinals have.
00:06:52
Speaker
to a very good wide receiver duo in Larry Fitzgerald and um DeAndre Hopkins But I'm I'm I'm sticking with the Rams with this one.

AFC and NFC Playoff Chances

00:07:03
Speaker
However, if they lose this game, I'm not convinced they'll make the playoffs Number six the Buccaneers so Seven and five right now. They're not playing this weekend and we already talked about the Cardinals game against the Rams so I Now I'm going to go over the teams that are just barely out and could easily make it. So I'm going to start off in the AFC again. I'm going the top three teams are the top three teams that are out right now. I'm going with the Raiders.
00:07:38
Speaker
Ravens and Patriots. Okay. Why are these three teams have a high chance? First of all, they're all playing teams that are three and eight or worse this weekend so most likely they'll either all of them will be seven and five or six and six which is Decent and could easily get you to the playoffs at ten and six with a wild card as a wild card team. So I I think the Raiders are the most likely team to make it because they proved that they can win ball games, especially once they beat the Chiefs. They are their only loss so far and the time they lost to them, they only lost by four. So I think the Raiders have the highest chance. I think second is the Ravens. They're those other six and five team. You know, I know because I think because they have a lot of experience plus are playing the Cowboys next weekend, which isn't.
00:08:28
Speaker
the hardest matchup, let's say it that way. And, you know, they also have experience making a playoffs and they have experience going 14 and two. So I think Lamar Jackson, if he comes back ah soon, you know, he'll lead them to something good. Now, if he doesn't come back and they lose to the Cowboys, it's it's a different story. um So this the the teams and also yeah um ah other team that kind of has a chance that it now they have to they have to win out though is the Texans now they're four and seven right now they'd have to get really lucky they had to hope that the Raiders go two and three in their remaining games and the the Ravens do the same and that the Patriots go um three and two at at best in their games
00:09:28
Speaker
and they have to win out. that's That's the only way they'll make it, so. And I guess that the Broncos lose a couple games, so. I think the Texans have a small shot, but you know, with that top tier quarterback and Deshaun Watson, you know, without DeAndre Hopkins, they're not the same, but DeAndre Hopkins, er, sorry, Deshaun Watson's done a great job, even without him. He wants them to re-sign Will Fuller,
00:09:56
Speaker
Let's see what the Texans can do against the Colts today, but if they lose I think it's over for them Now we go to the NFC they're not as good on the um in the hunt teams The Vikings the Bears and the 49ers are the top three teams out and then you just after that the the list goes way down ah You have the the Lions, the football team, the Falcons, the Panthers, the Eagles, and the Cowboys.

Playoff Threats Analysis

00:10:29
Speaker
Just, um, not a great out of the, you know, thing list. And, and, and the end is also not great for the, um, for the AFC. They have three teams that are like automatically out with the Bengals, Jaguars, and Jets.
00:10:47
Speaker
Cowboys and Eagles aren't automatically out. They're in the NFC East. There's always make it in the NFC East. But anyways, in the NFC, I think the top team has a chance of making it. It are the Chicago Bears. They're playing the Lions this weekend and you know, it's, they can easily beat them. um I'll say it that way. The Bears are very good team. You know, they, they've won some games. They started their season off five and five and one. So,
00:11:16
Speaker
they They have experienced winning, but you know it's been a while since they won games. I they can do well, but it's gonna be tough. I actually picked the Lions in this one. I know they're down right now. ah The Lions are down right now 16 to 6, but look the Bears. They're they're kind of overrated, but their schedule left. They got the Texans. They've got the Vikings who are currently ahead of them. They got the Jaguars in the Packers. so I predict them to go one and three in this remaining schedule. That would not help at all. So it's it's going to be tough. Anyways, next, I think the Vikings are have the second best chance. I could easily flip the Vikings and Bears, you know, it's because the Vikings are playing the one in 10 Jaguars right now. So, you know, I think that one's a almost undoubtedly win. You know, I actually think the Jaguars are very underrated.
00:12:15
Speaker
You know, they have actually, when they lose, they lose very close. They lost to the, um, the game against the Cleveland Browns was a two point game. They've had other games that are super close and come down to very close amounts. But anyways, I think the Vikings with Justin Jefferson, the gritty with him on every touchdown, but even her cousins has done a little bit better now for this team. So.
00:12:46
Speaker
If Kirk Cousins, Adam Thielen, Justin Jefferson and Dalvin Cook can do their thing and and the defense does a little bit, you know, that they'll be okay. So I think those are the only two teams that are out that even has a small chance. So now I'm going to talk about the teams that could be the biggest threats to the best teams. So for the Steelers, I think the easiest, the biggest threat is the chips.
00:13:14
Speaker
But the thing is the Chiefs biggest store will not be the Steelers. The Steelers, if they play that kind of football, they played against the Ravens. It's it's definitely the Chiefs could absolutely crush them. The Ravens were super short handed. They didn't have their starting quarterback. They didn't have JK Dobbins. They had a lot of players out. The Chiefs are or the Steelers are definitely not the Chiefs biggest threat. I think I think it's the Dolphins, the Raiders and the Bills.
00:13:44
Speaker
Those are three. Look, the Raiders are a very, very underrated team. I think that if they can do a little bit, you know, if they can make the playoffs and that ends up being the two seven game, there's a big chance that the Chiefs lose. And if the bills go up to number three, the Chiefs end up winning that two seven game or they get a buy and play the bills ah as a four seed and they win.
00:14:10
Speaker
You know the scenarios like the bills could easily beat them, you know And then actually I have another one after the dolphins, but the dolphins with Tua doing great their defense could easily hurt um that Chiefs offense so um You know it it could be close um like that and then their offense has gone much better with Tua in the house Anyways, the last team that can easily beat the Chiefs and easily could lose is the Tennessee Titans Very good ah offense and that's three not because of their defense. It's because of the offense Derek Henry Get that name stuck in your head. You're gonna be hearing it a lot anyways So I think the Titans biggest threat is easily the Chiefs, you know, I
00:15:07
Speaker
You know, it's just, it's just that way because the Chiefs are going to be every single team's biggest threat besides maybe the Raiders. So I think if, if the Chiefs end up being, they beat the seven seed and the Titans end up being the three seed and beat the six seed and these teams play, I think the Chiefs could probably beat the Titans or the Titans can beat the chief. It's going to be a very good game to watch if it ends up happening.
00:15:38
Speaker
So now we're going to go on to the NFC. Actually, wait, the Steelers biggest threat I'm going on. I think their biggest threats, obviously the Chiefs, the Titans, and not the 14, not the Bills, the Miami Dolphins. Why? The defense can absolutely shut down Big Ben and that offense. And then, and then they have an offense connected to them. They can beat them.
00:16:06
Speaker
i I would I think that I would favor the dolphins in that game Now go on to the NFC so I got the Saints I think their biggest threat right now are the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals because and They might be without Drew Brees. So it's it the offense is not gonna be the same So I have a good defense, but they have a great offense and the Saints don't have the greatest defense with them They do have Cameron Jordan on there though I think the Seahawks would per I personally think the Seahawks would win that game so I think that you know, I think it's I think it's good. I think that game would be very close, but I go Seahawks and then I
00:16:52
Speaker
And then the Cardinals, you know, Kyler Murray, I know he's not having a great year, but you know, Hey, they have a great wide receiving group and defense connected to. So I, be careful if you're the saints, you end up dropping to the two seat and the Cardinals stay at the seven seed. You know, Hey, that, that could be a good game to watch at number two, the Packers. Um, I think their biggest threat right now,
00:17:23
Speaker
It are probably, um obviously the Seahawks, they're gonna be everyone's biggest threat, except for themselves.

NBA Trade Analysis: Rockets vs Wizards

00:17:32
Speaker
The
00:17:34
Speaker
if Daniel Jones comes back, I'm gonna surprise you guys. I think the Giants, I know this is crazy and you're probably laughing right now.
00:17:46
Speaker
But I think the Giants are a decent team. When they lose, they lose by barely any. The Packers have had some very close games. They've lost a couple games they shouldn't have lost. I'm going. I think that game would be fun, but I still think Packers would win. And then with the Seahawks, that offense, we absolutely blow them out. And then Aaron Rodgers is not as consistent as people say he is. I think the Seahawks would win that game. So anyways, the Seahawks' biggest threat Is this are the Saints and the Packers both of them I know I said the Seahawks are both of their threats that I both of them I believe I said they would be close games and that means if one of these teams is there they're up to it and they want it more than the Seahawks do then I that Those Saints in the Packers could easily beat them
00:18:43
Speaker
So now I'm gonna, I know, I'm gonna go over this NBA tree that I'm sure you guys know about. John Wall to the Rockets for Russell Westbrook to the Wizards. Okay. I like this trade by the Wizards part. I do not like to trade by the Rockets part. You're losing a guy that's averaging 27 points per game.
00:19:08
Speaker
Like right next to a guy that's averaging 36 points per game. That is crazy. And he's almost averaging a triple double. Why would you trade him? John Wall has been injured for over a year. I don't understand why you do this with the Rockets, but for the Wizards, a great job to pull the trade off. You're getting a great second option right next to Bradley Beal. They might combine for 60 points per game, which is crazy. So, you know, don't be surprised you see that.
00:19:38
Speaker
And a decent team. They they re-sign Davis-Bertons. They have Rui Hachimura and I mean Troy Brant, or not Troy Brant. Center isn't bad. That position for them isn't bad. So I love what the Wizards did there. You know, it's you getting like the star, what a very good star in the NBA and you got rid of someone that's injured for over a year and is not going to be back 100%.
00:20:05
Speaker
and you get someone that is 100% right now, like basically in his prime, he's not been in his prime ever in his career, but you know, it's it's a great job by the Wizards. So I don't be surprised you see him in the playoffs. So thank you so much for listening to this episode of Eli's Studio Sports. See you in the next.
