Speaker: Hello, my beautiful daisies.

Speaker: Welcome back to band practice.

Speaker: I'm Emma.

Speaker: And I'm Madison.

Speaker: And today we're doing a little spring cleaning episode.

Speaker: I literally was like, why did she say daisies?

Speaker: I'm so confused.

Speaker: I know.

Speaker: I was like, every time, every episode, I try to think of something to call y'all that like fits the theme.

Speaker: And that's the best I could come up with in two seconds.

Speaker: I think Madison can probably see my wheels turn before we record every time.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I'm like, what's she waiting for?

Speaker: I said that I'm like, okay.

Speaker: Like, is she hyping herself up to start?

Speaker: What is going on?

Speaker: No, you do good.

Speaker: Every time I put you on the spot and you just come up with something.

Speaker: I am going to deliver.

Speaker: So.

Speaker: Absolutely.

Speaker: I never doubt it.

Speaker: But yeah, we're doing spring cleaning.

Speaker: Spring is a spring.

Speaker: It's coming.

Speaker: Believe it or not.

Speaker: Spring is upon us.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It is upon us.

Speaker: What days?

Speaker: This is going up on February 28th.

Speaker: Crazy news.

Speaker: February 29th is happening this year.

Speaker: Crazy.

Speaker: It is crazy.

Speaker: It's a leap year?

Speaker: Or is it not a leap year?

Speaker: What's it called when it is?

Speaker: I don't know much about all that.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: We're not leap year experts, but there is a 29th.

Speaker: Like March is coming, spring break's coming, and so we have a lot that we need to, you know, prepare.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: All of us collectively as a group.

Speaker: When is the official start of spring?

Speaker: March something?

Speaker: Let's see.

Speaker: Spring, March equinox is March 21st, which feels kind of late to me.

Speaker: I don't really agree with that, but...

Speaker: I was going to say, because I know daylight savings time, the time changes soon.

Speaker: I thought that was like something to do with spring.

Speaker: Like, why are we doing so much?

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: But anyways, spring is next month at some point.

Speaker: I'll tell you that much.

Speaker: I've been wearing shorts, so it's spring.

Speaker: Yeah, I wore a skirt today.

Speaker: It was like 65 degrees.

Speaker: Okay, and the groundhog, and I'm telling you spring is upon us.

Speaker: Oh, is that what that's for?

Speaker: Does the spring...

Speaker: I thought the groundhog already happened.

Speaker: Groundhog happened.

Speaker: And I think the groundhog said spring.

Speaker: No, I think he said like spring's coming early or something.

Speaker: Oh, okay.

Speaker: Thank you.

Speaker: He said that word for word.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: He said that.

Speaker: And I heard, I heard him say that.

Speaker: It was crazy.

Speaker: I made a request and he followed through.

Speaker: So I can't believe that's a thing.

Speaker: There are so many strange, like, we just accept that things are the way they are, but like, they, why?

Speaker: Like, the groundhog literally says if it's spring or not.

Speaker: I'm confused.

Speaker: When did that start?

Speaker: And like.

Speaker: Are y'all just like taking groundhogs from nature and doing this?

Speaker: I know.

Speaker: Is it one specific groundhog?

Speaker: Like, is it a different one every year?

Speaker: We need to know more.

Speaker: I'm going to research this after.

Speaker: I know Puxatawney Phil.

Speaker: Is that the groundhog's name?

Speaker: Oh, I've never heard that name before in my life.

Speaker: Yeah, there's like a specific.

Speaker: And like, it's even weirder.

Speaker: Puxatawney Phil is the groundhog for Groundhog's Day.

Speaker: Is it actually the same one every year?

Speaker: Or is it like a Shamu situation?

Speaker: They say it is.

Speaker: I don't know about that.

Speaker: Oh, okay.

Speaker: No, he's not.

Speaker: It's at age 138.

Speaker: Wrong.

Speaker: We're not the same guy.

Speaker: He's a vampire.

Speaker: They're lying to us.

Speaker: Somebody's lying.

Speaker: There's just a lot of questions.

Speaker: But regardless, spring.

Speaker: Regardless, spring is coming.

Speaker: And we need to be prepared.

Speaker: Like Emma said, we all need to collectively...

Speaker: get our ducks in a row because I feel like it's just it's sneaking up on me it's almost Easter like what is going on and spring is just I don't know there is something to spring cleaning they really did something when they said that when they said spring cleaning they were correct I do because you're like hibernating in winter you're like clean

Speaker: closed in, just slow moving, slow thoughts.

Speaker: And then the sun starts to shine and it's like, crap, I need to like get my ish together.

Speaker: And I feel like it all starts with like your environment.

Speaker: So we're going to be talking about how we plan to kind of cleanse our lives, get things cleaned up and organized so that we can thrive for the rest of the year.

Speaker: Absolutely.

Speaker: We love like we I don't think we've ever done like a cleaning per se episode like spring cleaning or anything.

Speaker: But I love I love cleaning.

Speaker: I love making TikToks about cleaning.

Speaker: I love, you know, organization.

Speaker: We all know this.

Speaker: So I feel like this topic is right up our alley.

Speaker: I'm excited.

Speaker: Yeah, we're talking favorite products and then kind of like our spring cleaning, like deep cleaning recommendations.

Speaker: And these are things that are like not typical things you think that you should clean, but like we really should.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Oh, there's so many things in adulthood that I've realized like, oh my God, I have to clean that too.

Speaker: Everything collects dirt.

Speaker: It's just crazy.

Speaker: It's sick.

Speaker: oh there's just it never ends actually no um but before we get into it what have you been up to any updates um i've had a

Speaker: Ups and downs.

Speaker: I was about to say I've had a great week.

Speaker: Literally, I was having mental breakdowns to Madison hourly.

Speaker: I was going to say Monday and Tuesday.

Speaker: That's wrong.

Speaker: No, I just don't handle stress very well.

Speaker: And I've been very overwhelmed, I think, with the moving situation and

Speaker: And then like that causes like money stress.

Speaker: And then also I've just been dealing with some like self-esteem issues.

Speaker: So like just every little thing was just causing my brain to break.

Speaker: And then I went on a walk the other day.

Speaker: And since then, like it's been great.

Speaker: So I don't know.

Speaker: Nature is healing.

Speaker: I love that.

Speaker: Yeah, I've had a good week.

Speaker: I'm going to see a movie after this.

Speaker: I'm seeing Dune part two.

Speaker: It's like an early screening.

Speaker: And I'm really excited because I actually really enjoyed the first one.

Speaker: That's with Zendaya and Timmy.

Speaker: I don't know the plot or anything, but I have been seeing people post about that.

Speaker: Honestly, you wouldn't like it.

Speaker: So just be.

Speaker: Yeah, I saw like the not trailer.

Speaker: What's the picture?

Speaker: The cover?

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: The movie poster?

Speaker: Didn't look like my vibe.

Speaker: To be just really honest.

Speaker: It didn't look like anything coming from like DreamWorks or like Pixar.

Speaker: So like it's just not for me.

Speaker: It wasn't animated.

Speaker: It did look like real people.

Speaker: So I don't know.

Speaker: Sci-fi?

Speaker: Yeah, no.

Speaker: No, thank you.

Speaker: Yeah, that's okay.

Speaker: That's fine.

Speaker: I'm just really excited because I've been itching to go to the movies because I've been having a hankering for popcorn, movie theater popcorn.

Speaker: So I'm very excited for many reasons.

Speaker: I love that.

Speaker: Literally, right before this, we were walking past, me and Ben were walking past the movie theater that we saw Barbie at when you were in town.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: And it made me want to go see a movie.

Speaker: Like, I would love to go to the movies.

Speaker: But I don't know what movies are out or anything.

Speaker: But I might do the same.

Speaker: Sounded so fun today for some reason.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Sometimes you just got to like pick whatever sounds the best and just go.

Speaker: Like, I don't know.

Speaker: Normalize seeing movies on a regular basis.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Fun.

Speaker: Love that.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Are you just going alone?

Speaker: No.

Speaker: Girl, no.

Speaker: My boyfriend and my boyfriend's roommate.

Speaker: Slay!

Speaker: Oh my god.

Speaker: The three musketeers love to hang out.

Speaker: Yeah, I love the dynamic trio of just you and him and no roommate that comes along.

Speaker: It's so funny.

Speaker: Well, enough about my shenanigans.

Speaker: What have you been up to this week?

Speaker: What have I been up to?

Speaker: I booked a trip to Arizona.

Speaker: You guys probably don't care, but I am going to Arizona next month.

Speaker: Got that book this week.

Speaker: Very excited.

Speaker: I'll do like a high and a low.

Speaker: How about that?

Speaker: Oh, okay.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Um, low is that Indy popped a stitch.

Speaker: Oh, right.

Speaker: I forgot that happened.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: He was supposed to be fully healed because he got fixed like three weeks ago and they were like, yeah, he can totally go back to his normal, you know, walk in exercise, whatever.

Speaker: So he was just living life.

Speaker: And then one day I woke up and is like, he was bleeding.

Speaker: I was like, what is going on?

Speaker: And yeah, he popped a stitch.

Speaker: It was really gross because his stitches are internal and you could like see the stitch like from the inside out.

Speaker: It was terrible.

Speaker: But it ended up being fine.

Speaker: Like he's all good.

Speaker: That's good.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: My high of the week, probably it was today.

Speaker: I've been having a fun little Sunday.

Speaker: We went to my favorite, our favorite, me and you.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: Our favorite breakfast place.

Speaker: It's called One Fold.

Speaker: Delicious as always.

Speaker: And then we went thrifting.

Speaker: I didn't get anything, but it was still fun.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And we went to like this cute, there's like this cute new pet health food store kind of place, like a Whole Foods for pets.

Speaker: Like it was like a fancy schmancy one.

Speaker: So we went there, got Indy some fun little treats and stuff.

Speaker: Cute.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Now we're recording.

Speaker: And then after this, I'm going to clean.

Speaker: It's just like such a Sunday vibe.

Speaker: Perfect Sunday.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: True, true Sunday.

Speaker: That sounds like a nice morning.

Speaker: Thank you.

Speaker: Thank you.

Speaker: Anyways, what are you drinking?

Speaker: I have a fun little homemade beverage today.

Speaker: Fun, fun.

Speaker: I've been really enjoying green tea lately.

Speaker: Like every day, like afternoon time, I'm like, oh, a nice ice cream tea just sounds so good.

Speaker: So I have just like – I don't even remember the brand.

Speaker: Whatever brand you just always find at the grocery store, they do like a green tea with lemon.

Speaker: So I just brew like a typical hot tea with that and then I just pour it over ice.

Speaker: And then to really accentuate the lemon, I add some of my lemonade mio.

Speaker: And then if it's not sweet enough, I'll add like a little bit of Splenda or something.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, really, really delicious and refreshing.

Speaker: And I have sonic ice, so it's even better.

Speaker: That sounds delightful.

Speaker: I love a lemon tea.

Speaker: Nothing could be more refreshing than that.

Speaker: Yeah, especially since it started to warm up in the valley.

Speaker: It's just like in the middle of the day, a nice iced tea.

Speaker: I love that.

Speaker: I have a little mini Alani, which is probably the worst idea that I've had all week because I texted Emma this morning.

Speaker: I was like, I'm feeling hyper and irritating.

Speaker: Like I'm feeling so annoying.

Speaker: Like I just want to like instigate and bother people.

Speaker: Like I've been bugging Ben and Indy all day long.

Speaker: And now that I'm here with you, can't wait to annoy you guys.

Speaker: Yeah, my shift.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yes, your shift like clock in baby.

Speaker: Let's let's get this show on the road.

Speaker: But it is like a little mini one.

Speaker: I don't know if you guys have ever seen them, but they're like half the size of a normal can.

Speaker: So I feel like it's the perfect little treat.

Speaker: Like I don't always want a full Alani if I'm not trying to like go balls to the wall.

Speaker: So this is like the perfect little little boost that I don't need.

Speaker: I love that.

Speaker: I know.

Speaker: I hope they release more flavors in the mini cans.

Speaker: I think they just have two right now.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Well, that's all I got, I think.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I think we're ready to hop in.

Speaker: Let's get this party started.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: We're going to start with our cleaning habits, just kind of what our cleaning routine already looks like on like a week-to-week, month-to-month basis.

Speaker: I can start.

Speaker: I feel like I'm just in... Oh, guys, life update.

Speaker: I found a place to live.

Speaker: woohoo.

Speaker: Um, anyways, if I'm like the cutest apartment, um, signed my lease and I'll be moving in a few months.

Speaker: But why I bring that up is because I feel like for me having roommates and like, I don't really love the house that I live in.

Speaker: Like,

Speaker: it's just not pleasing to the eye.

Speaker: Things just break and fall apart and my room is tiny.

Speaker: So that just kind of depletes my motivation for cleaning a lot.

Speaker: But with that being said, I do feel like I take pretty good care of my bedroom, my actual space.

Speaker: And I've just kind of gotten good at picking up after myself over the years.

Speaker: Like

Speaker: no real schedule to that.

Speaker: I just, if I make a mess or something's not where it's supposed to be, I put it back in its home.

Speaker: I feel like that's the most important thing.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: The key is, is to think about them, your inanimate objects as real alive things.

Speaker: And they want to be at home with their friends.

Speaker: They don't want to be stuck somewhere that they're not familiar.

Speaker: Like it's uncomfortable.

Speaker: So you have to put them back home.

Speaker: The key is mental illness.

Speaker: You have to be delusional and maybe a little bit concerning at times.

Speaker: My hairbrush wants to go back in the hair drawer.

Speaker: No, that is so true because like, why would it want to be there?

Speaker: And it doesn't have legs.

Speaker: It can't get back to its home.

Speaker: No, like you have to do.

Speaker: You stranded it.

Speaker: You stranded it.

Speaker: Oh my God, that's funny.

Speaker: I feel like there's so many things with cleaning where I do stuff like that, where I like have to trick myself into cleaning.

Speaker: Like for instance, a while ago, Emma was like, oh, I really don't want to clean my bathroom or kitchen or whatever it was.

Speaker: I forget.

Speaker: And I was like, oh, just like pretend that you're a cleaning lady.

Speaker: Like pretend that you got hired to be there and like you have to clean it.

Speaker: I do that to myself all the time.

Speaker: Or I convince myself that like my mom is coming over and I'm like, oh, you got to clean, got to clean.

Speaker: That's so funny.

Speaker: Whatever it takes, honestly.

Speaker: I know.

Speaker: Because sometimes I truly do like cleaning.

Speaker: Like it is a relaxing thing for me, but not always.

Speaker: Like sometimes I'm just not in the mood and

Speaker: You got to do what you got to do to get it done.

Speaker: But yeah, I feel that, but in a different way, because I feel like between a man and a dog in my house, things are always need to be picked up.

Speaker: Literally yesterday, Indy is in a phase of taking out every single one of his toys.

Speaker: And maybe that's my fault because he has so many.

Speaker: He has way too many, and he will get in his basket and take out every single one.

Speaker: I put them away six to seven different times.

Speaker: Like, wow, he scatters them around and I have to go around and pick them up because he's not going to clean them up.

Speaker: Like, I got to do it.

Speaker: But I try to pick up like the kitchen and dog stuff and my bedroom, like any clothes scattered around or anything.

Speaker: I try to do that every morning and night just because if I skip a day, I notice it.

Speaker: Like if I don't.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: fill the dishwasher or don't like pick up towels and clothes and stuff strewn about it's like things are a mess very quickly yeah I like to just keep it in check every single day because I feel like you just have to yeah I feel like like you said like it's gonna add up um

Speaker: Pretty quickly.

Speaker: So I'd rather like spend 15, 20 minutes a day picking up or wiping something down real quick or something rather than having to do like intense deep cleans on the weekends, which still do.

Speaker: But you get what I mean.

Speaker: Like when it really piles up, especially something like dishes, like, oh, I would just rather do it as it comes.

Speaker: Absolutely.

Speaker: I also have like terrible sensory issues with dishes.

Speaker: I recently got like thick cleaning gloves because I've used just like disposable gloves to clean before because I just don't.

Speaker: I get funny about like wet food or like I can't do it.

Speaker: I recently got a pair for the kitchen, a pair for the bathroom, like thick gloves.

Speaker: Man, they have solved all of my issues.

Speaker: Like I suddenly am a cleaning, a professional cleaner.

Speaker: Like I could clean anything when I have gloves on.

Speaker: And yeah, that's just another life hack of mine.

Speaker: Gloves.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: If things gross you out.

Speaker: I use disposable gloves, like the kind that I would use for like when I dye my hair and stuff.

Speaker: I use that anytime I go near the toilet, especially down at the bottom.

Speaker: I'm like, I, this must be done, but like, I, I don't belong here.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So I really got to cover up.

Speaker: Yeah, I feel that way too.

Speaker: There's certain things that just I cannot handle.

Speaker: Like I saw on TikTok a while ago, didn't know that you had to clean your dishwasher filter.

Speaker: Have you ever taken that thing out?

Speaker: Girl, I didn't know that existed.

Speaker: I know.

Speaker: I didn't either until I also didn't have a dishwasher in my last apartment, so it just didn't pertain to me.

Speaker: But then recently I saw a video like how to clean your dishwasher filter.

Speaker: Stuff like that where it's like drains, filters of any sort.

Speaker: Like I will gag.

Speaker: Like I can't handle it.

Speaker: So I bought some gloves and cleaned that out.

Speaker: It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Speaker: Some people that I saw online were like crazy nasty.

Speaker: So I was just I brought in the big guns, but it wasn't that bad.

Speaker: That is really frightening.

Speaker: I'm going to ignore that.

Speaker: I am moving soon.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It's different too when it's like... Yeah, when you have roommates and stuff and you're like, I don't know whose food is in this...

Speaker: Yeah, it's just weird.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Those are the things that I do daily.

Speaker: I said, picking up and just doing the little things.

Speaker: Weekly, I make sure to do laundry twice a week.

Speaker: I used to do it once a week, but I feel like Ben and I, our laundry piles up so quickly that I'd rather break it up twice a week than do multiple, multiple loads on Sundays or whenever I do them.

Speaker: So I recently started doing laundry at least twice a week.

Speaker: twice a week and I feel like it just makes it so much easier because then I don't have like a shit ton of clothes to put away at the end of the week yeah um I just do like a couple loads here and there throughout the week and it makes it so much easier and then sheets every week are non-negotiable for me especially now that Indy sleeps with us in bed I'm just like I can't do any longer than a week at least once a week I wash my sheets like absolutely

Speaker: Love that.

Speaker: Thank you.

Speaker: I don't wash my sheets as often because I also don't sleep at home the whole week.

Speaker: They ain't getting used nowadays.

Speaker: Oh, they're clean.

Speaker: They stay clean for a while.

Speaker: So I'd say like every few weeks, at least once a month.

Speaker: But I definitely do laundry of my clothes once a week.

Speaker: I like to do it.

Speaker: Whatever my first work from home day of the week is, is typically when I do it.

Speaker: My mom always did.

Speaker: She does laundry every day.

Speaker: And it was that way when I was growing up too, because there was four of us.

Speaker: So there's a lot of laundry.

Speaker: But then I'd go to my friend's houses or something.

Speaker: One of my best friend's dom, she would...

Speaker: be like, I have to do laundry today.

Speaker: And I'm like, okay, like, why so urgent?

Speaker: She's like, I have no shirts left, like, not one.

Speaker: Like, she would wait for her laundry to pile up until there was no clothes left.

Speaker: I just simply cannot live like that.

Speaker: Like, I have to keep on top of it.

Speaker: But I know that people are like, so either one way or the other.

Speaker: Like, they will be doing laundry all day for a whole entire day.

Speaker: Or they just do it like once a week.

Speaker: Yeah, once a week and I only normally have two loads of clothes, like lights and darks and call it a day.

Speaker: That's nice.

Speaker: I mean, I guess like my last thing to touch on is like, I like the idea of like cleaning every Sunday, like just doing like a good once over, but then like maybe like the last end of the month or like once a month really doing like a deep clean, like I'm on my hands and knees scrubbing the floor.

Speaker: That's kind of my vibe.

Speaker: Yeah, I go back and forth.

Speaker: Sometimes I'll have like a little, I'll just make a cleaning schedule for the week, just depending on like what days I'm working and stuff.

Speaker: So I'll literally be like Mondays I do, I clean the bathroom.

Speaker: Tuesdays I like dust everything and do all the mirrors or whatever, like just different tasks for different days so that I don't have to spend like a weekend, like hours on one day cleaning.

Speaker: But then also some weeks I just don't really keep up with it.

Speaker: And then I do like a big deep clean.

Speaker: one day on the weekend.

Speaker: But I don't know which I like better.

Speaker: I feel like everybody loves a Sunday reset, but sometimes I'm like, I don't want to do everything in one day.

Speaker: Yeah, that's fair.

Speaker: Yeah, but then it's hard to actually hold yourself accountable and like clean something every day.

Speaker: It's kind of annoying either way.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I cannot wait until the day where I can have a housekeeper.

Speaker: I know people are against housekeepers.

Speaker: I'm like, if I could just, and I don't

Speaker: I would get one to come like maybe every other week or something and just do like a super deep clean.

Speaker: Like I like keeping my space tidy and like picking up and I like certain cleaning tasks, but like getting down to the nitty gritty, I can't do it all.

Speaker: And I, my standard is so high for cleanliness that like, I just, it's hard to keep up to that standard.

Speaker: I would like, yeah.

Speaker: I would like to bring in the big guns.

Speaker: Sounds exhausting.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Especially if you have a house.

Speaker: I don't understand people that have super big houses that like clean it all themselves.

Speaker: I'm like that.

Speaker: You're just always cleaning.

Speaker: Always.

Speaker: I'm cleaning always with a one bedroom apartment.

Speaker: Like I don't understand.

Speaker: Then you bring kids into the mix.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: I can't even get started.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I'm already stressed.

Speaker: I'm frightened for that.

Speaker: Oh my goodness.

Speaker: Yeah, it's a lot.

Speaker: Okay, that was all I got for like cleaning habits.

Speaker: I guess next we can get into favorite products.

Speaker: Let's do it.

Speaker: I love cleaning products.

Speaker: Unpopular opinion.

Speaker: Like I love going to Target and looking in the cleaning section.

Speaker: I know.

Speaker: I tried to think of some more fun items.

Speaker: Same.

Speaker: My first one, I got it for Christmas.

Speaker: My dust buster.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: She is good.

Speaker: She is good.

Speaker: It's really nice if you have a cat because mine likes to, you know, throw a little bit of litter everywhere.

Speaker: And rather than having to, like, haul out a vacuum every time she makes, like, a little mess, I can just whip out the dust buster.

Speaker: Gets in all, like, the small areas.

Speaker: It's cordless.

Speaker: So I plan on taking it to my car later today.

Speaker: Mm-hmm.

Speaker: It's just so nice for the small messes when you don't want to take out your huge ass vacuum.

Speaker: I love that.

Speaker: On the topic of vacuums, I have an unpopular opinion.

Speaker: I don't like my Dyson vacuum.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: I actually regret purchasing it because they are not cheap.

Speaker: And they, it did me good for like maybe a year or so.

Speaker: And then it started making like weird noises and like not really working.

Speaker: And I thought it was just a me problem.

Speaker: So I'd like take the whole thing apart, clean it, like clean out the filter, get everything like squeaky clean.

Speaker: My vacuum is pristine.

Speaker: And I thought it was just a me problem.

Speaker: Like maybe, I don't know, I'm doing something wrong.

Speaker: But then not that long ago, my friend texted me.

Speaker: She somehow knew that I had a Dyson vacuum.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: And she was like, has your Dyson ever done this?

Speaker: I'm like, yes.

Speaker: She explained exactly.

Speaker: It goes like, rear, rear, rear.

Speaker: Like it's like not one solid thing.

Speaker: Like, yeah, I don't know how to explain it.

Speaker: It sounds like it's like dying or something, but it's not.

Speaker: It's fully charged.

Speaker: Anyway, she was having the same problem too.

Speaker: So I looked it up.

Speaker: Apparently it's like a thing with Dyson that I was not aware of.

Speaker: And it's like past the warranty, so I can't really, I'm not going to buy a new one.

Speaker: Like, I'm just going to deal with it.

Speaker: And it just kind of sucks.

Speaker: But you did just remind me, it has like different heads.

Speaker: So you can like, there's like a...

Speaker: attachment that you can put on to just make it like a little handheld thing.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: I should utilize that more often.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I never I just use like the normal vacuum long vacuum stick thing, but I never use the little handheld one.

Speaker: But that is so handy.

Speaker: I don't know why I don't use that.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, especially for like, I don't know, like dogs and cats.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: The hair, like whatever, like you said, literally, like, I feel like it'd be helpful for Indy will track in little stuff like in our entryway, like it's just little areas or like doing it on the couch.

Speaker: Yeah, you shouldn't couch do that more often.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Another thing I really like is the Windex electronic wipes.

Speaker: I originally got them for my car, for like my car screen because it's got like a touchscreen area.

Speaker: But then I also use them on like my phone and my computer.

Speaker: It's just so nice.

Speaker: And I feel like devices are something we forget to clean because it's just like not as obvious yet.

Speaker: They're probably like the most disgusting thing we have because we're just touching them with our grimy fingers all day.

Speaker: Yeah, so I really like these.

Speaker: I just got like a few different packs off of Amazon.

Speaker: So I keep one in my car, keep one at my desk.

Speaker: It's really nice to have.

Speaker: Wait, I have never used those.

Speaker: And I get, if I think about my phone too much, I get freaked out.

Speaker: Like that thing is probably nasty, nasty, nasty.

Speaker: Like, oh, yeah, my grimy little hands.

Speaker: I put it up against my face with like, without cleaning it.

Speaker: Gross.

Speaker: Okay, my next one.

Speaker: This is my pride and joy.

Speaker: I love my mop.

Speaker: I have the Ocedar spin mop.

Speaker: I love mopping my floors.

Speaker: It makes it so fun.

Speaker: I have had just like, you know, Swiffers in the past or like just like a plain old mop in a bucket.

Speaker: Something about spinning it and that thing makes me happy.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: It just makes it so much fun.

Speaker: And I mop my floors at least once a week.

Speaker: So it's like I better enjoy my mop.

Speaker: And I know it's a popular one.

Speaker: I feel like a lot of people have it, but it's not underrated.

Speaker: It's a great mop.

Speaker: I love it.

Speaker: Accurately rated.

Speaker: It's on my list to buy for my new place.

Speaker: I'm very excited.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I also love the shape of it.

Speaker: I feel like mops normally are circular.

Speaker: This one's like a triangle, so it gets in the corners and stuff.

Speaker: That's nice.

Speaker: And it's just a satisfying mop.

Speaker: I don't know why.

Speaker: I like it.

Speaker: I have been wanting, though, to get... Have you seen people on TikTok with their steam cleaners?

Speaker: Steam mops?

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: Oh, God.

Speaker: I also have one of those on my list.

Speaker: I'm going to need to purchase one soon.

Speaker: I feel like I would be steaming up this whole place.

Speaker: I'd be steaming anything and everything.

Speaker: Everything.

Speaker: It looks so fun.

Speaker: I love it.

Speaker: And I've even seen the ones that, like, it's a little tiny head attachment and you can, like, say you were cleaning, like, I don't know, a windowsill or something.

Speaker: Like, it just, like, shoots the steam.

Speaker: Have you seen this one?

Speaker: No.

Speaker: It's like a, I don't know.

Speaker: I don't know if it shoots just steam or water or something, but it gets into like the tiniest little crevices and just cleans them like nothing else would clean them.

Speaker: And I, I desire that like right now.

Speaker: That sounds lovely.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I'm so excited for you to have your own place.

Speaker: This is really putting me in a mood.

Speaker: I know, right?

Speaker: I know.

Speaker: I like save my... I can't wait to go to Target and just buy all my cleaning stuff.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: I'm going to need... Can I do the Target haul with you for your first Target haul?

Speaker: I suppose I can wait for you to come.

Speaker: Well, no, I will be coming the day that you move in.

Speaker: Oh, right.

Speaker: Okay, perfect.

Speaker: I love moving into a new apartment, the first Target Hall.

Speaker: There's something so special about it.

Speaker: It's gorgeous.

Speaker: I can't wait for you.

Speaker: I'm so excited.

Speaker: And there's a Target right down the street from my new place, like 500 feet.

Speaker: I love that.

Speaker: So that's the beauty of it.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: My next product is a kitchen dish-related, the Dawn Power Wash, the spray.

Speaker: Listen, it's probably like a hoax.

Speaker: Like they're just taking my money, but the convenience of it and just like Dondish soap in general, like is some of the best, but I just love being able to spray my dishes.

Speaker: It's just so satisfying.

Speaker: I love it.

Speaker: I think it's worth it.

Speaker: I'm also dumb.

Speaker: So.

Speaker: No, I agree.

Speaker: I was buying it for a long time and then recently I just bought like regular Dawn dish soap because I'm like, what's the difference here?

Speaker: It's also good, but I got to say...

Speaker: Something about it is just so fun.

Speaker: The Power Wash.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Just the way it sprays out.

Speaker: It's all about the little things with cleaning.

Speaker: Like we said, you got to trick yourself.

Speaker: You got to find ways to make it fun.

Speaker: Products that excite you.

Speaker: Dawn Power Wash is so satisfying.

Speaker: The like foamy spray.

Speaker: Oh, I love it.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Same kind of vibe for dishes specifically.

Speaker: I love a scrub mommy.

Speaker: I resisted the scrub mommy, scrub daddy urge.

Speaker: Specifically because I just didn't like the name.

Speaker: Scrub daddy.

Speaker: I didn't want that, you know?

Speaker: No.

Speaker: Kind of weird.

Speaker: And I just saw everybody using them and I didn't, I never really liked sponges.

Speaker: They kind of freak me out.

Speaker: So I just use like dish brushes and stuff.

Speaker: But within the past couple months, I've become a diehard scrub mommy, scrub mommy specifically because I'm a girl's girl.

Speaker: But I get the hype.

Speaker: Like they are the best sponges.

Speaker: And I always have two.

Speaker: Because I do.

Speaker: Do you do this too?

Speaker: I think I do what you're about to say because I was going to say this.

Speaker: Oh my God.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: So I always have two and then one is in use.

Speaker: One is in the dishwasher being clean.

Speaker: Do you do that?

Speaker: Oh no.

Speaker: I would have had a different point.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Well, I saw, again, I saw on TikTok, I got all my cleaning stuff from TikTok because I feel like there's just so many things that you don't know.

Speaker: Like when you get your own apartment, you're like, you don't know what to, like how often things need to be clean.

Speaker: Do you know what I mean?

Speaker: Like,

Speaker: you just get thrown into it and you're like I don't know how to keep a household clean um but I saw a tiktok of this girl that was like always have two sponges put one in the dishwasher you can put sponges in the dishwasher if you didn't know to like clean them sanitize them I don't know so I always just have one in use and one being cleaned and then I swap them out so my sponges are always cleaned

Speaker: That's so smart.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Because, well, and maybe that's what I should do.

Speaker: But I feel like I have to have like one scrubber that can touch like the dirtiness of the dish.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: Like if I'm hand washing and then like a pan or something.

Speaker: So I can scrub the dirt off.

Speaker: But like I cannot then use that same sponge to then like...

Speaker: do the actual like cleaning to then be dried.

Speaker: I agree.

Speaker: So you have to have like one that touches like a pretty spotless dish and like one that can touch the gross food, but they cannot be the same sponge.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: And I also have a separate sponge that can touch the sink.

Speaker: Oh, and that's valid.

Speaker: Like I don't want my

Speaker: I don't think it's gross now too.

Speaker: And I feel like people just use one sponge for everything.

Speaker: Clean in the sink, clean in the dishes, everything.

Speaker: You got to have separate things for separate things.

Speaker: We got to, we got to keep it clean.

Speaker: We got to keep it right.

Speaker: That's just like an area of the house that like really gets to me.

Speaker: Yes.

Speaker: Like I just sometimes seeing how other people do things.

Speaker: it really frightens me.

Speaker: Like I was afraid to like use dishes at like my ex's house because it's, you just know that things are not clean.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And yeah, men just don't know how to clean in general.

Speaker: I think you got to sniff the cups.

Speaker: You got to look at the silverware.

Speaker: You got to make sure things are correct.

Speaker: No, if a cup is dirty, like that is the easiest, like that is crazy.

Speaker: No, it's bad.

Speaker: Yeah, but people, like I said, you don't know until you know.

Speaker: There's probably so many things.

Speaker: But yeah, I don't eat at anyone's house.

Speaker: I don't trust people like that.

Speaker: My last product that I wanted to share is the Febreze Fabric Spray.

Speaker: This is so nice.

Speaker: It's just like it doesn't clean anything.

Speaker: It just kind of freshens the scent of something.

Speaker: It's really nice for like the couch, especially if you have pets.

Speaker: Like we have a lot of cats in our household.

Speaker: And so I'll spray it on the couch or if I'm in between bedding washes, I might spray it on.

Speaker: It's just used for any sort of fabric surface.

Speaker: I'm just the kind of person, not only do I want things to not smell, I want them to

Speaker: Well, I want them to smell good, like actively smell nice.

Speaker: So that's just like a nice refreshing product to add some fresh scent.

Speaker: Like it smells like you just did some laundry.

Speaker: It's really good.

Speaker: Love that.

Speaker: That just reminded me, and I didn't have this on my list, but another thing that is not overrated, that is very popular, the little green machine.

Speaker: Do you know what I'm talking about?

Speaker: The little green, it's not a steam cleaner, but it's like a sucky cleaner, upholstery like cleaner.

Speaker: Like you spray the water and it sucks it out.

Speaker: I bought one because we got our couch on Facebook Marketplace and I was like, I got to deep clean this baby.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And so I got one and I was like, maybe, I don't know, I won't really use it that much, but maybe I will.

Speaker: I use it all the time for stuff.

Speaker: The other day, I cleaned our whole carpet with it because we have carpet in our bedroom and carpet freaks me out as well.

Speaker: And also, Andy, when he was potty training, did have a couple piddles on the carpet.

Speaker: And I just deep cleaned the whole thing with it.

Speaker: And my carpet feels so... It just feels refreshed.

Speaker: It's not creeping me out anymore.

Speaker: But that's a fun one.

Speaker: Also so satisfying to see the water get pulled out of stuff.

Speaker: Love that.

Speaker: I need to get me one of those.

Speaker: I just noticed I have like a small little stain on one of my car seats and I'm like, my brand new car already has a stain and I'm really not happy about that.

Speaker: And I don't have the gadgets for this.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, I was going to say you need to add it to your list when you move.

Speaker: Because it's so, yeah, it's useful for all like couches, chairs, rugs, carpets, anything.

Speaker: And it really does like pull that shit out.

Speaker: Like you can see the dirty water coming out and it's actually really nasty when you pour out the dirty water.

Speaker: But satisfying.

Speaker: You feel like you really cleaned it.

Speaker: Our last topic for today is our spring deep cleaning recommendations.

Speaker: So the things that you might not think of right off the bat that you should probably go through and do a good deep clean.

Speaker: So my first one is the fridge and the freezer.

Speaker: We need to be going through our food, guys.

Speaker: Go through your sauces.

Speaker: Go through your frozen meals.

Speaker: Anything freezer burned, it's got to go.

Speaker: Just like really start fresh.

Speaker: And while you're at it, go ahead and clean the surfaces.

Speaker: Give them a good wipe down.

Speaker: I agree.

Speaker: Fridges get funky quick.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: And I feel like people –

Speaker: Right?

Speaker: Like, how are you going to, there's certain things in a house that I'm like, they just actually can't be dirty.

Speaker: One of them is your fridge because you're eating the food in it.

Speaker: And second of all, I don't understand how people don't have clean bathrooms because how are you going to feel clean when you shower in a dirty bathroom?

Speaker: It's never going to work for me.

Speaker: But yeah, fridges get smelly.

Speaker: Things get old.

Speaker: You got to clean it out every once in a while.

Speaker: um my first one is going through your closet which i feel like people everybody thinks of it but nobody actually does it like you really got to go through your closet and not like just get rid of one or two things like if you're not wearing it if you haven't worn it in the past six months baby it's got to go like you're not gonna be honest yeah you've got to be honest with yourself at some point and i feel like i've i go through my closet i try to at least like

Speaker: realistically twice a year but I try to do it like quarterly at least like go through and just make sure there's anything that's like got to go it's got to go um but right now I feel like I only wear like one fourth of my clothes at best like there's so many things in my closet that I maybe would wear but I just don't reach for um

Speaker: And I hate that feeling where you have so many clothes and nothing to wear.

Speaker: It's so irritating.

Speaker: And so I feel like this spring, I'm really going to do a revamp.

Speaker: It's time for a closet clean out.

Speaker: And it's kind of a daunting task, but it's got to be done.

Speaker: It does.

Speaker: And you should FaceTime me when you have that pile ready.

Speaker: And I'll let you know what I want.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: We'll do.

Speaker: We'll do.

Speaker: My next deep cleaning wreck is the car.

Speaker: I feel like I keep my car decently organized, but clean is a little more tricky because it takes more effort.

Speaker: But definitely no trash.

Speaker: Trash gets thrown away.

Speaker: And I don't like to keep things in my car that don't belong there.

Speaker: So if you have stuff that should be taken into the house, it's time to do that.

Speaker: But take your car for a little car wash.

Speaker: Use the free vacuums.

Speaker: Do some little wipe downs with some wipeys and you're good to go.

Speaker: You keep your car really clean.

Speaker: Every time I get in your car, I'm like, oh, this makes me happy.

Speaker: Me personally, this is a trigger for me because Ben uses my car a lot and he always has skateboards in it.

Speaker: Like his friends leave like little trash in it.

Speaker: Not that they're like being disrespectful, but you know, things just get left behind.

Speaker: when you have people in and out of your car all the time.

Speaker: And literally our anniversary, our two year wedding anniversary is tomorrow.

Speaker: And I was like, you know what I want for our anniversary?

Speaker: I want you to take my car to the car wash and deep clean it.

Speaker: Like I want it to be spotless.

Speaker: That's what I want for my anniversary.

Speaker: I literally just told him that.

Speaker: Because I love a clean car and my car unfortunately does not stay clean for long.

Speaker: But yeah, I love the idea of like a super deep clean because I feel like a lot of people do just like maintenance, you know, taking out the trash and stuff.

Speaker: But like,

Speaker: Not everything is always squeaky clean in a car.

Speaker: Things get dirty quick.

Speaker: But yeah, this is a good chance to deep clean.

Speaker: Okay, my next one is something that we all neglect.

Speaker: cleaning out old makeup products, skincare products, beauty products.

Speaker: I feel like I have so many products that unfortunately do not all get used by the time that they expire.

Speaker: And I have been known to hang on to things.

Speaker: You know, I feel like we all...

Speaker: at some point have to throw away our makeup from like 2016.

Speaker: And I know a lot of y'all are still hanging on to stuff from then.

Speaker: Like the naked palette must be thrown away.

Speaker: It must go, babe.

Speaker: The Anastasia modern Renaissance palette.

Speaker: Put her to rest.

Speaker: Her time is up.

Speaker: She's got to go.

Speaker: But this is one of the things that I feel really bad about getting rid of because you can't donate them or anything.

Speaker: You know?

Speaker: Like, if a product is used halfway, you got to throw it away.

Speaker: It's just done.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: But I feel like it's nice to everyone small, go through all your products and be like, okay, I've had this for like a while and there's a little bit left in it and I'm just not going to use it.

Speaker: It's got to go.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And also like wiping down all your makeup.

Speaker: I feel like a lot of people don't do that.

Speaker: Like actually cleaning your makeup.

Speaker: Just something to do every once in a while.

Speaker: Keep everything tidy and in check.

Speaker: Because again, these are things that like they're going on your face.

Speaker: You want to keep it clean and not expired.

Speaker: Love that.

Speaker: I have seen like, yeah, I think you do this.

Speaker: Like cleaning like the outside of like your makeup packaging.

Speaker: I really need to do that.

Speaker: Yeah, I don't do it like super often, but I try to just when I notice that things are getting a little crusty, a little crusty.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: You got to give it a wipe down.

Speaker: All right.

Speaker: My last deep cleaning recommendation is to launder, launder, launder.

Speaker: That's a word, right?

Speaker: Launder.

Speaker: Yeah, I think so.

Speaker: It is laundry.

Speaker: The things that you forget about.

Speaker: So throw blankets, throw pillowcases, or I think you can even throw a lot of throw pillows just like straight into the wash.

Speaker: Couch cushion covers, the bath mat.

Speaker: Shower curtain.

Speaker: This is a new one that I didn't realize you could or shouldn't wash.

Speaker: But my roommate's cat did piss on her shower curtain.

Speaker: So that did have to get into the wash.

Speaker: Skincare headbands.

Speaker: This is a big one.

Speaker: Especially because it's like you kind of get makeup on it when you're washing your face.

Speaker: And like you're just like constantly putting it on your hairlines.

Speaker: I like to throw that in the wash with my towels every time.

Speaker: washable rugs, your kitchen dish drying mat can be washed.

Speaker: Let's just like do laundry of like the things that you forget should be washed or maybe you just never have.

Speaker: I've been meaning to wash my shower curtain for like a month now.

Speaker: It's bad.

Speaker: That's one of those things.

Speaker: Together.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: And I will.

Speaker: I also saw, you know, like the plastic lining on the inside of the shower curtain.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I would just buy a new one every time it was looking dirty.

Speaker: I did not know that you could.

Speaker: I washed it the other day too.

Speaker: I didn't know you could put it in the washing machine.

Speaker: The more you know.

Speaker: I just took a risk.

Speaker: I didn't even look it up.

Speaker: Really?

Speaker: I was like, if it doesn't make it, I'll buy a new one.

Speaker: But yeah, it was just fine.

Speaker: Wow.

Speaker: Yeah, I saw a TikTok of somebody doing that.

Speaker: Once again, all my information always is from TikTok.

Speaker: But yeah, there's so many things that just get forgotten.

Speaker: I feel like there are things that I notice and I just put off because I have other laundry that is more important, you know?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Like clothes.

Speaker: But yeah, you got to put everything in the wash at some point.

Speaker: You got to.

Speaker: You know what I absolutely hate?

Speaker: A crusty hand towel.

Speaker: Oh, that's something that I don't trust at other people's houses.

Speaker: I will air dry my hands.

Speaker: I'm not touching nobody's hand towel.

Speaker: Those things do not get washed enough.

Speaker: I know it.

Speaker: Not regularly.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Another tip is to always have like a laundry basket somewhere for like towels like that so that you, you know, to replace them regularly.

Speaker: That's what we do at our place.

Speaker: That's like one good cleaning thing we do is we're really good about switching out our hand towels.

Speaker: Thank God.

Speaker: I love that.

Speaker: Okay, my last thing is the most irritating to me.

Speaker: But once again, they have to be done.

Speaker: You have to clean your things that clean, unfortunately.

Speaker: This is another hard realization of being an adult.

Speaker: It's never ending.

Speaker: It's actually never ending.

Speaker: Like I said, dishwasher filter.

Speaker: If you guys didn't know, you can take that out, give it a little rinse, give it a little scrub.

Speaker: Like my vacuum, like I said, I take that apart and clean it.

Speaker: Your washing machine, unfortunately, also has to be cleaned.

Speaker: I'm just going to get a new one, right?

Speaker: Like just throw it away and get a new one at that point.

Speaker: I recently got an air purifier.

Speaker: That filter has to be cleaned.

Speaker: I'm like, this is extremely irritating to me.

Speaker: But you want your things to feel clean.

Speaker: And so you have to clean the things that clean.

Speaker: Like, it's just, it's ridiculous.

Speaker: But...

Speaker: Yeah, every once in a while you got to go through and just make sure everything's good.

Speaker: It's exhausting.

Speaker: This episode has both motivated me and caused panic.

Speaker: Yeah, I know.

Speaker: Yeah, well, I feel like for me it's just made me want to do things more often.

Speaker: Like instead of waiting until spring cleaning to do all of this, we could just do it throughout the whole season, babe, and just break it up.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I'm excited for you to live alone, though, and be able to, you know, do all your own stuff.

Speaker: I'm going to live my best life, truly.

Speaker: And I think with spring cleaning, like, maybe just tackle one, like, out of the ordinary project a week.

Speaker: You know, you don't need to do all of it at once.

Speaker: That's overwhelming.

Speaker: But maybe it's like this week, car.

Speaker: Next week, makeup and clothes.

Speaker: Week after that, yeah.

Speaker: cleaning supplies and random laundry.

Speaker: Just got to break it up.

Speaker: Well, we hope you guys enjoyed this episode.

Speaker: We hope you're feeling motivated and not overwhelmed, but you never know.

Speaker: We love you all.

Speaker: We love this time that we can spend together as a band, motivate each other, lift each other up.

Speaker: Why not?

Speaker: You're there.

Speaker: And you can follow us on social media.

Speaker: We have our band practice and our personal links in the show notes.

Speaker: Yeah.
