Speaker: Good morning, besties.
Speaker: Welcome back.
Speaker: Well, I guess maybe it's not morning, but just pretend.
Speaker: Welcome back to the podcast.
Speaker: Welcome back to band practice.
Speaker: I'm Emma.
Speaker: And I'm Madison.
Speaker: And today we're going to be doing a little get ready with me because we're together.
Speaker: So we can get ready together and get ready with you guys.
Speaker: So we're just going to be chit-chatting about all of our favorite products, things that have been on our mind, and just going to be asking each other some questions, just chit-chatting.
Speaker: while the girlies get ready.
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: This is a really good podcast episode to watch instead of listen, perhaps.
Speaker: I mean, you can obviously listen along.
Speaker: But if you want to actually see us get ready, then head to our YouTube channel so you can get the most out of this episode.
Speaker: For sure.
Speaker: We've done one of these before and it was really fun.
Speaker: So we thought we'd do it again.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: But yeah, we're at my parents' house.
Speaker: I've been here for the past week.
Speaker: So we made ourselves some coffee and we're getting ready in my parents' bathroom.
Speaker: Hopefully the audio sounds okay because it sounded kind of echoey, but I'm hoping you guys don't notice.
Speaker: We're doing our best, okay?
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: Yeah, we did.
Speaker: We tried to make a cute little like ASMR intro for you making the coffee.
Speaker: So hopefully that like
Speaker: Turns out okay.
Speaker: Yeah, little barista POV.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: But yeah.
Speaker: This is cracking me up seeing our different undertones.
Speaker: I know.
Speaker: It looks crazy on me.
Speaker: I can't really tell.
Speaker: I'm so pink.
Speaker: And it's so bright in here that we both just look really pale, though.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Wow, we do look really different.
Speaker: That's crazy.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Well, I guess we can just catch up while we start.
Speaker: Yeah, sure.
Speaker: Should we?
Speaker: Why not?
Speaker: I mean, what we're drinking, drink of the day, is a coffee.
Speaker: Do you want to tell them how you made it?
Speaker: I do.
Speaker: So my parents have an espresso, so I always use that and make coffees for Emma and I because she really likes it when I make her coffee.
Speaker: She makes the best coffee.
Speaker: It's better than any cafe or anything.
Speaker: But this time I just use oat milk and then I got a vanilla creamer from Oatly, which I saw at the grocery store.
Speaker: I think it's new because I've never seen it before.
Speaker: And it's really good.
Speaker: So it's just that with a shot of espresso.
Speaker: Delicious.
Speaker: It's spectacular, splendid, delightful.
Speaker: I'm glad you think so.
Speaker: I'm starting with the moisturizing primer.
Speaker: What are you starting with?
Speaker: I'm starting with this Ilia face base milk.
Speaker: I never really understood products like this until I got one.
Speaker: Like I know people use the...
Speaker: rode one and I was like, what is that really doing?
Speaker: You know, cause it's like milky.
Speaker: It just kind of looks like some BS, but no, it really makes your face so moisturized and makes everything like sit on your face really, really well.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Like it.
Speaker: I like the Lancome UV Expert Primer and Moisturizer.
Speaker: It's an SPF 50.
Speaker: I just have these little mini testers that Madison gave me a bunch of and I'm almost done with my last little tester and so I need to find a full size because I actually really love it.
Speaker: We tried to find it at Sephora the other day.
Speaker: They didn't have it.
Speaker: Crazy.
Speaker: And then I go into other prep products because I feel like I've recently come to terms with the fact that I just don't have oily skin anymore like I did when I was a teenager.
Speaker: I definitely have like normal to dry.
Speaker: So the skin prep really is important for my makeup to like actually sink in.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And not look crusty.
Speaker: So then I use the Tatcha Liquid Silk Canvas Primer and I mix it with my trunk elephant.
Speaker: Be Goldie Bright Drops just for some little glow.
Speaker: I love those.
Speaker: And these together just make my skin so like soft and smooth.
Speaker: So yeah.
Speaker: I know I also always had oily skin so I feel like I try to use like those like silicone-y primers and like mattifying and now I'm like I want nothing to do with that.
Speaker: Like that would be the last product that I would buy.
Speaker: I put on a serum and a moisturizer this morning, but then this is the only product I go in.
Speaker: I'm very interested in these.
Speaker: This looks fun.
Speaker: Do you want to try it?
Speaker: I mean, okay, I'll try it.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: No, I lately, I love now like a primer that's combined with some sort of like skincare benefit or like just from a skincare brand.
Speaker: Because I just feel like they like sit on the skin so much better than like typical makeup primers, but that's probably like not true.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I've just been into like
Speaker: Like, like, okay, the more I see TikTok edits for the podcast, I really know.
Speaker: I say like so much.
Speaker: And I'm gonna try and stop that.
Speaker: It's really bad.
Speaker: It's so bad.
Speaker: It's funny because you always notice when other people do it or like if you're listening to another podcast, but then I listen back to our podcast.
Speaker: I'm like, we sound great.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: But then if I really try to focus on it, I'm like, oh my God, we sound really like if I didn't notice, I'd be like, like, I won't be able to finish.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Gotta work on that.
Speaker: Or even I feel like I just say um a lot.
Speaker: I find that when I'm editing the podcast, I cut out all the ums.
Speaker: So next.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So irritating.
Speaker: I like that.
Speaker: My skin feels nice.
Speaker: Yeah, that's good.
Speaker: And now, right.
Speaker: My next product.
Speaker: I feel like this is like a makeup tutorial.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: This is so funny.
Speaker: I know.
Speaker: It's giving YouTube.
Speaker: I love this.
Speaker: The Tower 28.
Speaker: What is this even called?
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: Tinted sunscreen.
Speaker: Sunny days.
Speaker: We both do.
Speaker: Yeah, we both use Fairfax.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I love this stuff.
Speaker: Emma started using it first and then she got it for me for Christmas.
Speaker: I literally used it every day since.
Speaker: Oh my God.
Speaker: It's the most so nice.
Speaker: Perfect sunscreen.
Speaker: You got your mom to use it too.
Speaker: Uh huh.
Speaker: She uses it.
Speaker: If we're going to influence y'all to get one thing from this, it should be this, especially for like spring and summer.
Speaker: Like I'm going to the beach in well next month, I don't know, a few weeks.
Speaker: And I cannot wait to like wear this to the beach because it'll give me some coverage.
Speaker: But obviously it'll like be some SPF and it just like sinks into the skin really well.
Speaker: Like even if it wore throughout the day, like it wouldn't look bad.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: It kind of just, it doesn't get like patchy or like come off in certain areas or cling to certain areas.
Speaker: It just like sinks into your skin throughout the day.
Speaker: Exactly.
Speaker: Well, what have we been up to this trip that you've been visiting?
Speaker: What have we been up to?
Speaker: What have we been up to?
Speaker: Truly is the question.
Speaker: We did some shopping towards the beginning.
Speaker: Oh yeah, I forgot about that.
Speaker: That was fun.
Speaker: I got some stuff for my house.
Speaker: Oh, I added to my Anthropologie juice cup collection.
Speaker: Very exciting.
Speaker: um we went on a hike that was one of my favorite things yes he took his first hike and he did pretty good he got really tired halfway through and asked to be carried he like hopped up on my lap requested that yeah but um then he got a second wind and he was feeling good wow this stuff just makes your skin look so good wow i've really been on my hiking grind that's the third saturday in a row that i've gone hiking
Speaker: Well, I don't even know if hiking is like truly the right word because this trail is like pretty easy, but like I'm just not the kind of person like I don't want to be miserable when I'm working out because then I'm not going to want to do it again.
Speaker: So I like like a nice off-roading walk.
Speaker: Yeah, like more than you would do like on a typical walk around your neighborhood, but not like you're huffing and puffing, trying to climb a literal mountain.
Speaker: What do you do next?
Speaker: Oh!
Speaker: Okay, this is gonna be crazy because I think I'm looking and we're about to use the same next four products.
Speaker: That's disturbing.
Speaker: So we have the Makeup by Mario bronzing stick.
Speaker: Do we use all the same shades?
Speaker: I use light, medium.
Speaker: Me as well.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Madison truly is like the one influencer that will always influence me.
Speaker: Always.
Speaker: I get you every time.
Speaker: And you get me.
Speaker: And vice versa.
Speaker: I feel like half of it's interesting to see like half and half because some you've influenced me.
Speaker: Sometimes I've influenced you.
Speaker: And then it just all ends up the same.
Speaker: I mean, it's kind of nice that way because like I trust your opinion and I feel like we like similar products to work the same way.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: So like I know I'm not going to waste my money if I get something that you like because I'll probably like it too.
Speaker: Exactly.
Speaker: recently started um doing this thing where i you know on amazon how you can like subscribe and save with a product i did that with my real technique sponge so i get one every two months wow that's nice so that i actually remember to like switch it out because it really does affect like the way your makeup looks and also probably your skin for sure i hate that just stinky dirty beauty blender i've been getting these ones
Speaker: from Target, I think they're the Sonia whatever that brand is.
Speaker: And they come in a pack of two, so just a lot of times when I'm at Target, I just pick up a pack, so I always have backups.
Speaker: That's smart.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Speaking of like the Amazon subscribe and save, I'm really on my vitamin and like supplement grind to the point where like I've committed to
Speaker: using that thing where it comes once a month it keeps you on track i feel like i should do that too yeah and it is a little cheaper that way like yeah do a deal or i always want to do that with indie stuff too because like he'll go through food at the same rate obviously he's eating the same amount every day or like treats i give him roughly the same amount every day yeah and it always is cheaper i should do that it's just like such it's like scary to commit to i don't know doing that but it really is helpful but yeah i take
Speaker: I really like Hum Nutrition supplements.
Speaker: They just like have really great ingredients actually and like actually work.
Speaker: In my experience, I started off using the private party women's probiotic plus cranberries.
Speaker: So it has, helps like with urinary tract stuff.
Speaker: And I really feel like it helps.
Speaker: I'll keep it at that.
Speaker: I'm not going to say anything to say.
Speaker: Why?
Speaker: I'm really thinking it works.
Speaker: So I just got their hormone balance supplement because as I've probably mentioned before, I get really bad PMS.
Speaker: Like I just get so upset and maybe like a little sassy.
Speaker: A little bit.
Speaker: So we'll test that this month.
Speaker: See if that like helps with my mood stabilization.
Speaker: Keep y'all updated.
Speaker: Are we concealing now?
Speaker: Yeah, but I did blush first.
Speaker: Oh, she did blush first.
Speaker: I do it.
Speaker: After?
Speaker: I actually do it after my powder.
Speaker: Wow.
Speaker: Mm-hmm.
Speaker: I do the Say cream blush that we both use.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: But I don't know.
Speaker: Oh, sorry.
Speaker: Oh, the same concealer as well.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Tower 28.
Speaker: I have become a Tower 28 girly.
Speaker: Every product I've used, I love it.
Speaker: They're amazing.
Speaker: And this concealer, we actually just both got it the other day.
Speaker: It's my new favorite.
Speaker: Yeah, it's like no complaints.
Speaker: Even the shade that we picked out, I think we both ended up with the same shade.
Speaker: Sometimes I feel like with concealers or anything that's like a little bit heavier, I feel like it's not perfect.
Speaker: Like whenever I try a new one.
Speaker: Yeah, but this one is amazing.
Speaker: And I put it on the first day and I was like, oh my God, this is so good.
Speaker: Then I was thinking maybe because it's like kind of lighter and like
Speaker: more maybe a little bit more dewy i was like maybe it won't wear that well throughout the day but then i looked at myself at the end of the day i was like oh i still look impeccable like what's going on really good and i haven't heard that many people talk about it to be honest all right now i powder after my foundation concealer and bronzer i do powder first and then i do my cream blush after so that it gives the cheek still like a little bit of dewiness yeah um
Speaker: And I don't know, I just like the way it looks.
Speaker: It's so interesting how we have similar products, but use them differently.
Speaker: I use the Huda Beauty, I don't know, powder.
Speaker: Lately, I have been not using powder, which is crazy, but I just set all of my products with powder versions, like powder bronzer, powder blush.
Speaker: So I'm just going to go right in with powder bronzer, makeup by Mario in light medium.
Speaker: This is like my favorite bronzer ever.
Speaker: I'm almost out.
Speaker: She hit Pam.
Speaker: Yeah, I'm definitely going to buy another one, which I feel like is rare.
Speaker: I normally just like to switch it up, but...
Speaker: I'm not gonna stray away from this one.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: This trip has really made me realize how much I miss Emma.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: It's like getting really bad.
Speaker: I know we've been saying this all year long.
Speaker: That it's not sustainable.
Speaker: That it's not sustainable, but I feel like I'm really hitting my wall with it.
Speaker: Like...
Speaker: It's just, I'm actually genuinely so sad to leave.
Speaker: I leave later today and I like, I'm really not looking forward to it.
Speaker: Normally I'm like excited to go home and get back into routine and like get organized and everything, but I just don't want to leave.
Speaker: I'm getting really sad about it.
Speaker: I also get really sad because it's like my life feels so like I almost cried driving home yesterday.
Speaker: Looking at the sunset, like I just felt so happy.
Speaker: I have so much to do, like we have plans, we go do stuff, and like I just don't feel like lonely ever.
Speaker: And I was just like, wow, I really love my life right now.
Speaker: Like I love, I just wish this was reality.
Speaker: I know, because it also feels so normal because we're both from here and stuff, and like it kind of just does feel like regular life when I come.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Like we just hang out with like mutual friends and go do stuff that like we used to do when I lived here.
Speaker: And then reality sets in and I realize that it's not my real life and I have to leave and leave Emma.
Speaker: It's really sad.
Speaker: It's not fair.
Speaker: It's really not fair.
Speaker: Also, I know that you have a good life in Denver too, so it's tricky.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, but something's got to give.
Speaker: Something's got to give.
Speaker: No, but it is hard being long distance friends.
Speaker: I feel like a lot of friends are long distance at some point, whether it be like college or moving away for work or whatever.
Speaker: But it's tricky.
Speaker: Everybody wants to talk about long distance relationships.
Speaker: Nobody talks about long distance friendships.
Speaker: They're just as hard.
Speaker: But they actually last.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: That's interesting.
Speaker: It is funny though.
Speaker: I feel like since I moved away, we actually got closer in a weird way.
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: Like because we have to put so much time and effort into going to see each other and stuff and like texting every day and keeping in touch.
Speaker: I feel like it has made us closer.
Speaker: And the podcast has helped a lot.
Speaker: Definitely.
Speaker: I'm moving on to eyes.
Speaker: Ooh, okay.
Speaker: Yep.
Speaker: Actually, I'm gonna do a layer of sunning spray before I do that.
Speaker: I'm gonna do a little eyebrows.
Speaker: I've been doing eyebrows recently.
Speaker: I have not used an eyebrow pencil since like... I have been looking really good.
Speaker: Thank you.
Speaker: I just haven't mentioned it.
Speaker: Thank you.
Speaker: I didn't use an eyebrow pencil for years.
Speaker: If anything, I just use like a little gel.
Speaker: But I got this one from NYX.
Speaker: It's just the micro brow pencil.
Speaker: Like, it's really tiny.
Speaker: So it's not too harsh.
Speaker: And I've been liking it.
Speaker: I love that.
Speaker: You know what's just really weird about growing up is, I don't know, realizing that spring break and summer break just don't exist, obviously.
Speaker: We have normal jobs.
Speaker: But then seeing on TikTok, girlies going to... I don't know.
Speaker: I saw this funny TikTok yesterday of these girls who were like, we booked our spring break to go to Bermuda because we thought it was in the Caribbean.
Speaker: but it's actually like 60 degrees there right now.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: They just like didn't check on this.
Speaker: So I had to look it up and yeah, it's like kind of just way out in the middle of the ocean.
Speaker: But I love to see people like do spring break stuff.
Speaker: I never did because I didn't really do much in college, but I don't know.
Speaker: I just kind of, I do kind of miss...
Speaker: that vibe of like always having a set time to go vacation or like, I don't know.
Speaker: I kind of wish that I had done a spring break.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Something that I respect about Emma is that she utilizes her PTO.
Speaker: Oh, I sure do.
Speaker: I don't understand people who have jobs that offer like PTO or just like vacation time throughout the year and they don't take it, especially if it doesn't like accrue in Seva.
Speaker: You're just wasting days that you could have taken off.
Speaker: No, like I know people who
Speaker: So I think with my work, your vacation rolls over for a year.
Speaker: And then after that, if you still have leftover, then it gets like paid out to you.
Speaker: And I'm like, how are y'all even having that much rollover?
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I finish it up by November.
Speaker: I'm like, I'm out.
Speaker: I'm like, that's that.
Speaker: I love, I'm trying to be more stingy this year, but it's not off to a great start.
Speaker: But like you earned that, like that's your,
Speaker: pay.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Like that's a part of your contract when you get hired.
Speaker: I feel like you should utilize it.
Speaker: And I love a mental health day or just like if I don't know, like obviously
Speaker: in moderation, but like it's okay to just feel like you need to take a day.
Speaker: Yeah, for sure.
Speaker: Especially with like a corporate job.
Speaker: Like I can understand with you like nannying.
Speaker: I take this off often.
Speaker: Yeah, but like you wouldn't want to just like call out in the morning.
Speaker: Yes, yeah.
Speaker: No, because I'm the only one showing up.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: But with corporate world, like it will, everything will be okay.
Speaker: They will survive without you.
Speaker: Like it's not a big deal.
Speaker: So yeah, I don't know.
Speaker: Like you can actually just do your work the next day and it won't affect.
Speaker: No, literally.
Speaker: I feel like a lot of times when you're in it, it feels like such an emergency.
Speaker: Like, yeah, it has to get done by today.
Speaker: And sometimes there are deadlines and stuff, but most of the time, nobody's gonna die.
Speaker: If you take a vacation.
Speaker: I took a four day weekend.
Speaker: I was caught up within like less than an hour on Monday.
Speaker: So love that.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I'm using it.
Speaker: My mom gave me this cause she didn't really like it.
Speaker: Milani.
Speaker: highly rated mascara.
Speaker: It's a tubing mascara, which I haven't used since like 2014, but I used it yesterday and I took it off and it was so fun to take off.
Speaker: I'm using a mascara that Madison, Madison always brings like a bag of PR products that she's not using.
Speaker: So this wasn't it.
Speaker: It's from the brand Swede.
Speaker: It's their cloud mascara.
Speaker: This is actually a really good effing mascara.
Speaker: You are missing out.
Speaker: Bang.
Speaker: But she also, you've been using their lash serum.
Speaker: Lashes are unbelievable.
Speaker: So I ordered it immediately.
Speaker: Yeah, it's like actually a Swedish brand.
Speaker: It's called Swede.
Speaker: And I had never heard of them, but they sent me stuff.
Speaker: And I just used the lash serum because I ran out of Grande lash or whatever I was using before.
Speaker: And it's genuinely so much better.
Speaker: And I've never heard anybody talk about it.
Speaker: You've always had good lashes, but you can tell they are
Speaker: growing they're gorgeous so thank you once again she's influenced me once again i know you really immediately ordered it when i showed up like i was on my phone placed the order paid for shipping like i'm not messing around um i feel like we've skipped over products but i put a little bit of glossier eyeshadow on my lid and then ilia brow gel
Speaker: Curl my lashes and put on mascara.
Speaker: Now I'm moving on to lips.
Speaker: So I'm using the Revlon Colorstay Lip Liner in Nude.
Speaker: Which I bought this on a whim the other day.
Speaker: I just needed like a nude lip liner.
Speaker: It's really good.
Speaker: And then I saw Miss Olivia Jade who she might be controversial but I do still watch her videos.
Speaker: And she was like I found a random lip liner that I really like and it was this one.
Speaker: So maybe people are going to start using it.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: But it's really good.
Speaker: I use this ColourPop shadow stick, but I'm realizing all, like the entire label has rubbed off because I use it so much.
Speaker: But it's like a champagne color and I just put it on my inner corner and that's the only like eye product for like shadow I use.
Speaker: I think it's in, I can't tell actually, so good luck.
Speaker: But I do really like it.
Speaker: And then I do my mascara and I have been doing eyeliner lately.
Speaker: Yup, I figured out a way that I like to do my mascara and eyeliner that I feel like really enhances my eye shape.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: So that's kind of, I try to make a cute little like flirty bit.
Speaker: Uh huh.
Speaker: I like it.
Speaker: Yup.
Speaker: But I need my mascara to dry a little bit more before I attempt.
Speaker: Hot news.
Speaker: Oh.
Speaker: I'm gonna use some lipstick.
Speaker: This is from Lancome in shade First Kiss.
Speaker: Just like a nude that I've been using.
Speaker: It's really fun when Madison's in town because we get to hang out with... well...
Speaker: not even like are they our friends they're our friends who like the skate community go to skate community things because our men skate but i actually really enjoy it it's really fun to like get out and i don't know it's just like i i really envy having like that third place mentality or like having a community of like
Speaker: people that I share a hobby with really like I don't even know what our equivalent would be for that but I'm very envious.
Speaker: Yeah there's no like equivalent that I'm I mean there are things for women obviously that like girls that do sports or like yeah even skate there's like a whole female skating community that we are not a part of right but um it is fun just to see like even familiar faces if they're not like our friends
Speaker: That it like creates a sense of community even though they're not necessarily our community.
Speaker: Yeah, it makes me so jealous.
Speaker: So there's just like built-in friends and people that you can just strike up a conversation with because you have like something in common already.
Speaker: I don't know what that could be for us, but I for sure don't have that.
Speaker: No, I for sure don't.
Speaker: Our version of that is the girls that help go to the events.
Speaker: Yeah, that are dating the boys.
Speaker: Exactly.
Speaker: I put on some lip gloss again from Tower 28.
Speaker: I am a big fan.
Speaker: It's in shade XOXO, this pretty pink color.
Speaker: I just use it as like a topper.
Speaker: Cute.
Speaker: I'm working on that eyeliner.
Speaker: I love a brown liquid liner.
Speaker: Love a brown liner.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I'm adding my finishing touches.
Speaker: I'm doing a little bit of highlighter from Rare Beauty in shade Exhilarate.
Speaker: This did completely shatter on my last trip, but we're still working with it.
Speaker: I do a tiny wing and I do it messy and then like it literally looks bad.
Speaker: Then I take a concealer brush and I smudge it out while it's still wet and it gives you like a really sharp
Speaker: Well, yeah, like smudgy, smoky wing.
Speaker: Good tip.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I haven't done eyeliner in so long, I should.
Speaker: It's the Tarryumi effect.
Speaker: It is the Tarryumi effect.
Speaker: I just feel like it looks nice on my eyes.
Speaker: And then I do a little bit bottom mascara just on the outer corner to give kind of like a doe eye shape.
Speaker: I'm all done so I'm just gonna watch you like it's like a makeup tutorial.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Time for my second coat of mascara.
Speaker: I feel like you have your makeup routine lately down to a science.
Speaker: I really do.
Speaker: And I love seeing it in action.
Speaker: Just a little bit extra on the outer corner, on the top, and then a little on the bottom.
Speaker: But if I get it in the middle, I literally just use my fingers and take it off.
Speaker: Like, I don't want it there.
Speaker: And then I was going to do freckles, but I don't really, I kind of like the way it looks with that.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Today, so this, oh, I don't want my lip products in here.
Speaker: Hold, pause.
Speaker: Give them a commercial.
Speaker: So today's episode is sponsored.
Speaker: She's back.
Speaker: She's back.
Speaker: All right.
Speaker: Elf.
Speaker: Hmm.
Speaker: It's like the lip oil stains and this one's in Power Mauve.
Speaker: The packaging makes the color look not what it is.
Speaker: So just trust.
Speaker: And I just do a little bit.
Speaker: Just blend it in.
Speaker: I've never seen this.
Speaker: Yep.
Speaker: And then lastly, I'm going to use the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm and this is the new Birthday Cake.
Speaker: Pretty good.
Speaker: Give it an 8 out of 10.
Speaker: And that's that.
Speaker: pretty all right now that we're all ready to bulk it up we're gonna do some questions some friendship questions do you want to pick first yeah we found some we're not really strangers questions so let's see my favorite all right my question for you okay what is your least favorite personality trait in a person
Speaker: Ooh, I have so many.
Speaker: Right, right.
Speaker: Okay, this is fresh on my mind because we were talking about it last night at dinner.
Speaker: I hate people that... Or I hate when people...
Speaker: like displace anger but it's so clear for you to see yeah that it's not like anything directed towards you but they are directing it towards you for whatever reason but i feel like when people do that it's really hard to talk to them about it and be like yeah don't actually think it's anything between us i think it's like a different issue but i feel like that has caused a lot of issues in like relationships or anything
Speaker: in the past that like, I don't know, I feel like it's a very common issue that people have that's, there's not really a good way to go about dealing with it.
Speaker: So it's like very frustrating to me.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Displaced emotions.
Speaker: I can control emotions really.
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: Mine would just, yeah, be like anger in general.
Speaker: I don't like that emotion.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: It never feels good to be angry either.
Speaker: So I don't know, people love to be angry, I feel like, but I don't like to be angry.
Speaker: No, never.
Speaker: It makes me feel bad.
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: Icky.
Speaker: Okay, because we were just talking about this, what's a phrase that you wish you would stop saying, but it can't be any of the ones we've already talked about?
Speaker: I know there's more.
Speaker: Well, my recent phrase is, woohoo, but I'm going to keep that one.
Speaker: Yeah, that's a good one.
Speaker: What's one I don't like or I wish I didn't say?
Speaker: I wish I stopped doing, like...
Speaker: baby voice or like the like our indie voice like when I went and visited my brother for the day and I couldn't stop doing like the I really don't want to go to this place like I just need to not we do a lot of the little kid like speech impediment accent and I blame it on indie like I say I'm talking for indie that's not it it's me yeah it is yeah
Speaker: So I would love to grow out of that as a 26-year-old woman.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Sometimes Ben and I just talk for Indy for like hours and then I'll use my normal voice and it'll be like jarring.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: That's a good one.
Speaker: Mine would be, I just find myself saying a lot of like TikTok phrases or like things that I would think is really irritating if other people said it as much as I do.
Speaker: I can't think of an example right now, but you know the vibes.
Speaker: What would your younger self not believe about your life today?
Speaker: Oh, a lot.
Speaker: That I don't have a job.
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I feel like I just thought that I would take a lot different life path than I did.
Speaker: Like pretty much everything about how I went about college, how early I got married.
Speaker: I just feel like my, I was always very school focused when I was in like even middle school and high school.
Speaker: I thought I would have like gone to an out, like a cool out of state university and like done all four years.
Speaker: And that was not the case for me, but I love it.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: I just think it would have surprised me.
Speaker: Yeah, for sure.
Speaker: Okay, this one is just going to be interesting because I would love some pointers.
Speaker: What do you think is one thing I could do that would drastically improve my life?
Speaker: Oh, wow.
Speaker: Give it to me straight.
Speaker: Move back.
Speaker: Getting a job.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, move back to Arizona or let's think something practical.
Speaker: Probably like watch more movies and TV.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And that's that.
Speaker: Another question that I was going to ask you is what, based on what you know about me, do you have a Netflix recommendation?
Speaker: What would you recommend that I would watch?
Speaker: Yeah, any show.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Let me think for a second.
Speaker: Oh, have you heard of the show Glee?
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: No, okay.
Speaker: Let me think of a real answer.
Speaker: It's hard because I feel like you probably wouldn't like something super serious.
Speaker: You're probably not into fantasy or sci-fi.
Speaker: So something kind of lighthearted.
Speaker: Honestly, I could see you getting into Sex and the City because they're short episodes and the characters are just so... We love the ladies.
Speaker: They're just like us.
Speaker: And I think it's an easy show you could just throw on and not pay attention to.
Speaker: Perfect.
Speaker: I think you would love it.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: I like that.
Speaker: And I like shorter episodes.
Speaker: Sometimes I go to start a show and the episodes are like an hour long and I'm like, so I have to sit down and watch a movie every time.
Speaker: I like a quick- These are like 25 minutes.
Speaker: Perfect.
Speaker: Cutest outfits.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: I like it.
Speaker: I know I've like had it on in the background, like at other people's houses.
Speaker: Like I'm familiar with the, who's the girl with the curly hair?
Speaker: Carrie Bradshaw.
Speaker: Carrie Bradshaw.
Speaker: I think you'd actually really like it.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Maybe I'll give it a try.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: I think something that I've noticed is that other people just have shows on all the time.
Speaker: Like the TV's always on.
Speaker: When I'm home, the TV's never on.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: That's my issue is that it's just, I never even give myself the opportunity because it's never on.
Speaker: It sounds so silly, but it is really nice to like kind of take you out of like your reality and just like, I don't know.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Well, that's how I feel about like reading or even podcasts.
Speaker: But I just, yeah.
Speaker: I like this one.
Speaker: What's the hardest part about dating you?
Speaker: Oh, I was going to ask you that.
Speaker: Or being married to you.
Speaker: I was going to ask you that.
Speaker: Ooh, I would say my attitude.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: How do I, yeah.
Speaker: I think I just am naturally very sassy and a little bit, and I don't think that really comes through on the podcast.
Speaker: No.
Speaker: I think if people talk to me in real life, they would be kind of surprised by my attitude because I can be kind of blunt and I can be kind of sassy.
Speaker: And just even I feel like just having a normal conversation with me sometimes, I feel like people think that I have an attitude and I'm like, that's actually just how I talk.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, it could be hard though when you're trying to actually just be like normal and I have a sassy attitude issue.
Speaker: And luckily Ben handles it very well.
Speaker: He just takes it and he doesn't care if I'm being sassy.
Speaker: He'll just be sassy back to me.
Speaker: Yeah, he'll give it back.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And same with Emma.
Speaker: My mom mentioned that Emma just gives me my sass back to me.
Speaker: Like it doesn't intimidate her.
Speaker: She's just sassy back.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: And I love that's what I want.
Speaker: That's what I want the dynamic to me.
Speaker: Same with even Andrew.
Speaker: Like he can just be sassy or rude back to me.
Speaker: Mm-hmm.
Speaker: I love it.
Speaker: I love that too.
Speaker: I love people that don't back down.
Speaker: Yes.
Speaker: Never back down, never would.
Speaker: Oh, okay.
Speaker: This kind of goes along with what I'm just saying, how the podcast doesn't really encapsulate my full personality.
Speaker: Based on what you know about me, does my social media portray me accurately?
Speaker: And if not, what do you think is missing?
Speaker: Honestly, I think your TikTok does because you'll do like little videos that aren't like an aesthetic vlog or something.
Speaker: Like you'll share a thought or use like a sassy sound.
Speaker: And I really do feel like your TikTok is like you.
Speaker: Like I don't think anyone would be surprised by anything about you if they like met you in person.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: Good to know.
Speaker: I think you're very authentic.
Speaker: Thank you.
Speaker: Thanks.
Speaker: Ooh.
Speaker: What am I most qualified to give advice about?
Speaker: I don't know.
Speaker: I actually never thought to go to you for any advice.
Speaker: No, I think three things immediately popped in my head.
Speaker: But I feel like
Speaker: Emma's a very gentle person.
Speaker: I feel like that's where we're different.
Speaker: I feel like I would go to you for advice.
Speaker: It sounds bad, but if something bad happened to me or if I was really sad, I feel like you have a very gentle personality to handle that.
Speaker: I think mental health or relationships, friendship issues.
Speaker: I feel like you're kind of a really solid and stable person.
Speaker: figure for advice in those situations.
Speaker: Thank you.
Speaker: You're welcome.
Speaker: Okay, to wrap it up and ask you a question that's not about me.
Speaker: Okay.
Speaker: In one word, describe how you feel right now.
Speaker: um bittersweet like i'm having so much fun with you but i know that you leave in just a matter of hours and i have to go back to regular degular life and i'm just feeling upset about it that's actually really but i love this moment yeah i know i feel like yeah every time we are together just so like a wholesome our vibe and then yeah we get tossed back into reality like i gotta be at work at 7 a.m tomorrow yeah this is not gonna last long
